The Gunpowder Plot
carry out its criminal activities with the objective of using violence in order to meet political ends,
such as overthrowing or destabilizing an existing socio political system.
Now, looking back at the Gunpowder Plot it can be stated that it fits the definition on each point that
Symeonidou Kastanidou (2004) brings about. They were a group of thirteen skilled man, who planned
an attack on parliament. Attack was planned over the certain period of time, they had finance and
equipment (thirty six barrels of gunpowder, fuse and a fire) to carry out an attack. Equipped with
religious grievances and the intention to kill the King and members of the parliament (symbolic place,
that is where all the mischief happened according to Catesby). Death of the king would have had
brought change of the regime from the Protestant rule to the Catholic reign or created social
dissatisfaction and condemnation (Fraser, 1996). Schmid (1992 cited in Lutz and Lutz, 2013) states
that for an assassination to be an act of terrorism, it must involve not only an assassin and its victim
but also a wider society, that in case of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Butko (2006; Freedman, 2005) slightly reflects on Symeonidou Kastanidou s (2004) definition in less
mechanical way by adding to it that there should be certain psychological effect on innocent victims.
In case of the Gunpowder Plot, if the Plot would have failed to achieve its intended purpose, plotters
expected at least to evoke condemnation of the society towards the King. The most definitive feature
of terrorism in Butko s (2006) opinion is the threat of violence or use of violence towards innocent
people, if all of the barrels with the gunpowder would have been ignited the casualties would have
been enormous and it is not that hard to imagine, in light of the September 11, the state of horror it
would have inflicted upon the London and the whole

Benefits Of A Incentive Pay For Teachers
Incentive Pay for Teachers
If you re a student, it may not be long before you find yourself in a classroom competing with peers
from all over the world. With the ensuing tide of globalization, the top companies and firms will be
able to look beyond students from local schools and access a growing global talent pool. Over the last
two decades, countries around the world have focused on expanding and innovating education as the
key to maximizing well being, reducing poverty, and increasing economic growth. As a result, Canada
may soon find itself trailing behind international standards, which would gravely impact Canada s
ability to stay competitive with the global economy. Having spent the second most out of 32
developed countries in the world, Canadians understand the importance of investing in education.
Improving education outcomes is a key priority for governments around the world, if Canada wants to
stay competitive it must be willing to innovate. One idea long neglected: incentive pay for teachers.
It sounds simple enough: an honest day s pay for an honest day s work, those who achieve better
results should be better compensated in return. But depending on who you ask, the notion is either
rationally straightforward or utterly perverse.
The idea that teachers should be compensated based on their performance has Canadians entrenched
in a heated debate. In 2014, a report published by the Fraser Institute advocating for teacher incentive
pay was immediately met with

Compare and contrast the poems Anthem for Doomed Youth by...
Compare and contrast the poems Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred
Owen and The Soldier by Rupert Brooke. What are the poets attitudes towards war and how do they
convey these attitudes?
Wilfred Owen s Anthem for Doomed Youth and Rupert Brooke s The
Soldier express opposing views towards war and matters related to it.
Owen condemns war as the cause of immense and painful loss of youths, killed like animals. He also
attacks the church, generally held to preserve human life and dignity, implying it is powerless and
irrelevant in a war situation. Brooke expresses ready acceptance (his view is meant to be the general
view) of possible death on his country s behalf in grateful return to her for having bore, shaped and
made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Brooke had mentioned materialistic things like special rights, possession or power then it gives rise
to the thought that his gratitude is questionable, because he has enjoyed privileges denied to others.
In the second stanza, Brooke whole heartedly declares that he will return to England what he has been
given. In his poem, Brooke doesn t criticise war or religion but emphasises whole hearted readiness to
return to England what he has been given. The spiritual being created and enriched by England is
returned gratefully. Brooke doesn t mention anything about the horrors of war. Even death is not
presented as something repulsive or of a loss but instead as a repayment to his country. He feels
indebted to England and is completely happy to settle his debt. He will return to England what she
gave him his
dust and delightful thoughts .
Brooke s poem has a confident tone of quiet conviction. The whole poem sounds proud and dignified.
Much of the time Brooke just praises
England and this makes the poem seem cheerful even. The first four lines of his poem are very
patriotic If I should die, think only this of me In that rich earth a richer dust concealed . Brooke says
these lines in a quiet confident manner. The tone lightens from then, as he describes pleasant things
like flowers , love and rivers . The beginning of the second stanza repeats the first line, and continues
with a calm statement of returning England s

Bismarck Napoleon III and the Outbreak of the Franco Prussian War Bismarck, Napoleon III, and the
Outbreak of the Franco Prussian War The unification of Germany threw all of Europe off its axis. With
the formation of this new power there were now five major powers instead of four. This would work
to unsettle age old alliances and confuse the entire European continent for more than twenty years.
Not least among the nations swept of their proverbial feet was France. France was a rival with the
German alliance long before it merged into one state, but the new stability of a unified Germany made
it a much more powerful entity. France scrambled to try and establish a sense of security, immediately
demanding compensation in the form of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seemed that the Germans were using the same tactic that they would use almost fifty years later,
goading their enemies into an irrevocable stance and into war. Ducrot urged the French that a pre
emptive strike across the Rhine would catch Germany off guard and they could march all the way to
Berlin. However, the French military heads had no plan in effect for a possible altercation with
Germany and did not until the war was eminent. They toyed with the idea of a possible alignment with
Austria Hungary, but their government was wary of such an arrangement but agreed to a triple alliance
that included Italy. This would, the Archduke estimated, create a force of nearly one million allied
troops against a force of roughly half a million Germans (Hwd 47). Finally, the event that would spur
the war came to pass. The Hohenzollern candidature for the Spanish crown had come open following
the revolution against Queen Isabella in 1868. The crown was initially refused by Prince Charles
Anthony and then offered to his son Leopold with the influence if William I. Leopold reluctantly
accepted the Spanish crown out of respect and servitude to Germany (Hwd 48). The acceptance of the
Spanish crown and the lack of anyone to announce it until considerable time had passed outraged the
French and most of the remainder of Europe. France took it as a slap to the

The Role Of Women s Video Games
When discussing the role of women in video games, it is important to establish what an acceptable
female character is. An acceptable female character has her own motivations that are not dependent on
a male character, is not overtly sexualized, and has a multi dimensional personality. A well written
female character has a storyline that is independent of other male characters and does not serve to
further male storylines. The Last of Us, developed by Naughty Dog, follows Joel as he leads Ellie, a
young girl, across a post apocalyptic world. Ellie, rather than existing as a tool to further Joel s man
pain, acts on her own inhibitions. Ellie also becomes a playable character at certain points and
Alexandra Neonakis, part of the team that created the game, states that these are some of the most
important plot points (JAMSTEW, 2015). The story itself focuses on the fact that she may contain the
cure to the infection that has riddled the United States, turning people into a zombie like state. While
some may see the relationship of Joel and Ellie as merely Joel using Ellie for his own purposes, it is
more of a mutual relationship. With the influence of Joel and other factors, Ellie goes on a journey
from a damsel in distress to a fully capable and complex character , states Neonakis (JAMSTEW,
2015). The game attempted to showcase a relationship between man and women where each needed
each other for support and to improve themselves. A women s sexuality can be an integral part

The Structure Of The Foundation Of Json Schema
Foundation of JSON Schema
Introduction
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is the most popular semi structured data format for sending API
requests and responses but it is still lacking a standardized schema or meta data definition that allows
the developers to specify the structure of JSON documents. JSON is a data format based on the data
types of JavaScript Programming. JSON data models comprises of strings, numbers and other types of
data that database system treats as atomic. JSON is also used for storing data, and that too in the
format of choice for several document oriented databases such as MongoDB[3] and CouchDB[5].
This paper has been formally arranged in a way that it provides the reader complete understanding of
what JSON is and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the next step, the practical use case of increasing importance is demonstrated in Schema definition
for Wikidata [6].
All the six types of valid JSON document such as object, array, string. Numbers, boolean values and
null can be specified by a JSON schema. Here, the key point to understand is that a JSON document
satisfies a schema if it satisfies all keywords of schema. Formally, a schema S and a document J can
be represented as J|= S to describe that J satisfies S. |= is to define all six types of JSON document as
well as their combinations and enumerations.
Formal Analysis
The efficiency of working with JSON schema and its expressive power is discussed in this section. It
is observed whether the computational cost of document conforms to a schema. Later, JSON schema
is compared with various well established theoretical formalisms such as nondeterministic finite state
automata.
Practical Considerations
To understand the efficiency and applicability of JSON Schema, an experimental analysis is
undergone in this section of the article where the author initially runs a series of experiments to test
self developed validators under JSON document of increasing sizes. Later, a real use case named
Wikidata Database is used where JSON schema can be naturally used.
Experiment under JSON document of increasing size

Who Is Edward Gein
Ed Gein Spenser Wiles Born: August 27, 1906 Death: July 26, 1984 Edward Theodore Gein was born
in La Crosse County, Wisconsin in 1906. The second son of George Philip and Augusta Wilhelmine
Gein. Augusta despised her husband, an alcoholic who was unable to keep a job. He worked various
times as a carpenter and an insurance salesman. Augusta owned a local grocery shop and later sold it
in 1914 for a farm to live in isolation near Plainfield, Wisconsin, which was there permanent home.
Augusta took advantage of the isolation by turning away outsiders from getting close to her sons.
Edward only left the farm to attend school. Outside of school, he spent most of his time doing chores
on the farm. Edward was shy, and classmates and teachers remembered him as having strange
mannerisms, such as random laughter. He tried to make friends but his mother would punish him
whenever he tried. Lacking Social development, he did fairly well in school, particularly reading
class. Later in 1940 his father died from a heart failure caused by his alcoholism on April 1, at age 66.
Ed and his brother Henry began doing odd around town to help pay living expenses. The brothers
were reliable and honest by the community. Henry later began dating a divorced, single mother of two
and he planned on moving in with them. Henry spoke very little about her around Edward who
responded with shock and hurt. On May 16, 1944, Henry and Ed were burning away marsh vegetation
on the property, the fire got out

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
Catherynne M. Valente
1. What is the most interesting event in this book? I think the most riveting part of this book was when
September got to the Lonely Gaol and experienced all the events at the end. Most of the book leads up
to the end, and many things were confusing until then. In the end, everything connected and made
sense, and I love when that happens. The way September made the raft to sail across the sea was
amazing, and the people and things she met were fascinatingly creative. She figured out that the
Marquess was actually Good Queen Mallow by peeling away the plaque and seeing it read Maud
Elizabeth Smythe instead of September and then making the ties between Maud and the Marquess. I
thought that the ending was the most intriguing and spectacular part of the book.
2. What is the major problem in this book? September s journey in this book had many hardships, but
there were actually two that really stood out in my mind. One of the main conflicts was September
going to get the Marquess sword in return for Goodbye s spoon. This was a main conflict because it
was such a big problem for her; she encountered many trials to her friends and her own self. The
second main conflict, which was slightly more significant, came after her first problem. This is where
she has to rescue her Saturday, the Marid, Ell, the Wand, then deal with the

The Destructive Path of a Tsunami
Tsunami Tsunamis are ocean waves that that is caused by an earthquake or other disturbances. The
term tsunami comes from Japan which means Harbor Wave . There are many hazards when it comes
to tsunamis. They usually happen undersea because of tectonic plates and earthquakes. Many people
always are prepared before a tsunami comes. About 80 percent of tsunamis happen within the Pacific
Ocean Ring of Fire where volcanoes and earthquakes are most common in. Tsunami rarely happens,
but when they do happen it can cause many injuries and deaths. There are ways to prepare before a
tsunami come or during a tsunami, to start preparing you will need an emergency kit, canned food and
can opener, flashlight, cell phone and create an evacuation plan for your family. During a tsunami,
follow the instructions by local authority, get to a higher ground immediately and stay away from the
beach when a tsunami is coming because drowning is the most cause. Help anyone that has special
needs like elderly and children. After a tsunami, help an injured or a trapped person, to avoid injury,
wear protective clothing. Stay out of building that has any water because it can cause floors to crack
and walls to collapse. There are tsunami warning sign at beaches to tell them to be caution because,
you never know if there is a tsunami coming or not. To know if there is a tsunami coming before time,
the Pacific Tsunami System Warning maintains a seismic equipment to identify

According to the theory, it is hypothesized that the higher the concentration base was added, the
quicker the PH would get up to PH 9. The hypothesis is justified by chemical reaction occurring in
beverages (coke and juice) at different temperatures which is 10°C, 20°C, 30°C and 40°C and how it
affect their total acid concentration, because of the Aldehydes and sugars may be oxidized to
carboxylic acid.
Aim
The aim of this investigation is to measure the the storage of beverages at different temperatures (10
°C, 20 °C, 30°C and 40 °C) affect their total acid concentration.
Materials
The following materials were used in the experiment:

Noah s Piety In The Play
In the York Corpus Christi Plays, many of the characters are so over top, so remarkably buffoonish
that those characters are ultimately quite comedic in effect. To a modern audience, a comedic biblical
character may seem blasphemous it may seem morally wrong to laugh at Jesus s executioners as they
struggle to crucify Christianity s most important figure. However, when examining exactly how those
characters function in the play, the comedic nature of those characters may not be wholly blasphemous
in effect. For example, do those comedic executioners only make the audience laugh at Jesus s
crucifixion, or do they emphasize Jesus s calm and solemn nature? Similarly, plays about Noah s ark
and the great flood include comedic characters, yet those plays do not feel totally blasphemous.
Instead, the inclusion of a variety of characters in these plays seems more nuanced. In the York Corpus
Christi Play The Building of the Ark, Noah s piety is established through his undying trust in God and
his general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout his encounter with God, Noah does not question God s intentions or his plan. The only
thing Noah questions is his own ability to perform such great actions (which is, again, related to his
pious humility), never God s general plan. God explains to him his plan, and Noah ends the play by
telling God that he will go and fulfill God s wishes: Abowte this werke now bus me wende, (PAGE #,
l. 148). Not only is Noah humble, he is also obedient and trusts in his God. In attributing Noah s piety
to humility, trust in God, obedience, and gratitude, The Building of the Ark subsequently praises these
attributes and establishes them as virtues. Thus, the play not only categorizes Noah as pious (and
explains what exactly makes him a pious character), the play also makes the public aware of how one
can become pious like

Guitar Comparison
Weather it be Coke and Pepsi, Mac and Windows, or Nike and Adidas, for every successful brand in
the world, there is always another equally popular one in existence whose presence divides the human
race. This seemingly natural rise of rivalry has found its place in the vast world of music, in particular,
the electric guitar. Behold Fender and Gibson. Two brands that have blown the competition out of the
water for more than half a century and become something much more than just a brand. Unlike other
corporations, these two guitars have earned the respect and praise of the public; their dual monopoly is
seen not as a negative, but as an opportunity to provide the world with cheap, yet powerful and
beautiful instruments. And while guitarists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the most important part. When all is said and done, guitars that sound better are by default better.
The category of tone has been dominated by Fender and Gibson. The two guitars offer the best sound
at the best price. The key to good tone and sound is good pickups. Pickups are located underneath the
strings, by where the picking takes place. He pick up the electromagnetic waves from the string and
send them out of the guitar. Stats use three single coil pickups with the third one slightly slanted.
These type of pickups offer a very distinct sound only fender is capable of creating. It is best described
as twangy and crisp. They sound extremely bright and behave well in all genres of music. The single
coil pickups are sloppy and primitive, but that is all part of the Fender sound. Gibson Les Pauls uses
what are called humbucker pickups. These are essentially just two single coiled pickups placed right
next to each other. What this does is that all the background buzz and feedback that the guitar picks up
is killed. These pickups are better described as warm and soft, they seem to fill the air better. But what
makes Gibsons special is the way they behave using overdrive. Distortion pedals give Gibsons a
crunchy sound that is the staple of heavy

Three Major Factors Of The European Colonies In The New World
Beginning in the 17th century, European settlers began migrating and colonializing the New World
discovered by Christopher Columbus, centuries earlier. The process of colonialization was brutal, it
sparked native resistance, and overtime, created tension with Europe. There were several differences
between the colonies that were established. However, the motivation to colonialize the New World
remained the same for most colonies. Three major factors contributed to the beginning colonies in the
17th century; God, gold, and glory. Many issues were rising in Europe, including religious intolerance.
Citizens were not free to worship whatever they pleased, they had to abide by the rules and laws of the
Church. Political instability, and economic developments were also contributing factors to emigration.
The promise of new gold and new trade also sparked interest amongst rulers. Recordings from earlier
periods revealed new jewels that the Indigenous People owned. The small amount of writing from this
period also suggests that rulers thought of new trade possibilities. Of course, the biggest factor was
glory. Spain, Portugal, France, Britain, and other countries were constantly trying to compete for
dominance. The thought of new territory to conquer and claim in the New World sparked major
emigration. Global dominance and power was a goal that Europeans had in mind, and the New World
was the promise land. English colonies could be categorized in three groups; royal colonies,

When Taking Theology And Ethics
Before taking Theology and Ethics, I was a firm believer of the Lord, but I had never once thought in
different ways to interpret him or his word. I had taken religion classes in my church while in high
school, and we were never told or asked to think of how we interpret God s word as I have in my
theology class.
That is a mistake made by many churches and the church classes for students that they offer. What
they tend to do is stuff information down the people s throats instead of explaining different ways of
understanding God in their own unique way. I know that s what happened to me while I was in church
classes. I was only told information and forced to participate even though I didn t fully understand
God. It was not until I went to a church retreat where I felt God, and it was a feeling I had never
experienced before, it was a new discovery for me. The point is that I didn t feel God in class, because
that was not the teachers job. The teacher s job is to educate us on the Lord so we can be ready to pass
a test at the end of the class, the goal should be for the students to understand and find God. I m still
surprised how I had never thought nor learned of breaking down the holy trinity. I was taught what the
Holy Trinity was, but I never went beyond knowing it was the father, the son, and the holy spirit. I had
never opened my eyes to the things this theology class has questioned of me and make me pounder on.
One of the most interesting things that made me

Effects Of Gambling On The Future
Everyone has a different way of entertaining him or herself. While some chose to read a book on the
topic of their interest, others look to hang out with friends, and some look to take risks. As I reach
adulthood, I have observed more risk taking in the form of gambling. While gambling goes against
what many economists would consider rational behavior, it still has a way of drawing people. Maybe
it s the thrill of playing, or a chance at hitting the jackpot. People are even drawn to gambling whilst
under serious economic stress, such as living with a small budget. Do these gamblers think about their
own budget constraints when putting large sums of money on the table? Why are brick and mortar
gambling institutions legal while online gambling was banned outright? And how do advances in
technology effect gambling in the future?
My hypothesis is that economic fluctuations in the market have a nominal effect on gambling. These
risk takers take very little into account in terms of their overall economic situation and act on impulse.
Their savings and other financial issues would take a backseat to risking their money for a small
chance at financial gain. This would mean that gambling as a while is fairly inelastic.
With the Internet era upon us, technology advances will shift gambling from casinos to websites, as
long as it is allowed to do so by countries respective governments. In countries such as the United
States, the government has held up very strict laws and regulations

Comparing Sucker And The Follower
The way a person acts could change another s life forever, for better or for worse, whenever it might
persist as verbal or physical. The short stories The Follower by Jack Gantos and Sucker by Carson
McCullers both illustrate events in which one s actions had negative lasting effects on another. This
essay will examine the poor actions by characters in the text and the effects those actions triggered.
The Follower by Jack Gantos features three main characters. Jack, a tween who meets two brothers
who lives next door, Scary Gary and Frankie. Depicted as a teenager, Jack also portrays Scary Gary as
a crazy type of person. He doesn t enjoy dangerous situations, he enjoys others experiencing them.
Scary Gary takes pleasure in seeing others getting put through pain. Frankie, Scary Gary s test dummy

Epistemological And Ontological Dilemmas
C. Possible solutions and problems in the literature
1. Identifying the problem Should Wu betray his country to rescue his spouse? is an ethical dilemma
hard to answer without careful consideration. Identifying the nature of this ethical dilemma will make
further analysis easier. Ethical dilemmas can be divided into three categories, including ontological,
epistemological and methodological dilemmas. Ontology is a subject of study in philosophy
concerned with the nature of existence. An ontological dilemma arises when two (or more) moral
requirements are inconsistent and none is overridden. Under ontological dilemmas are two sub
categories: intra ontological dilemmas and inter ontological dilemmas. The former exists when a

Peter Koller stressed the role of virtues, because a moral practice can never rely on the insight in
moral norms alone, but also requires appropriate human attitudes that motivate people according to
these norms . Complete ignorance of moral agent itself makes consequentialism and deontology a bit
unrealistic, so I would like to resort to virtue ethics, a system relying on multiple virtues to guide one s
behavior. While families are so irreplaceable that surrender sounds appealing, love is not the only
virtue bounded. Fulfilling the obligation as a Ming general driven by the prevailing belief of Zong is
powerful enough to cause hesitation. Furthermore, it seems intolerable to me to take the risk of
sacrificing the fate of a whole country to try to save one person s life. Even if Manchu help Wu to
suppress Li s troop successfully, Wu cannot assure himself that Manchu armies will not seize the
opportunity to conquer Ming rather than retreat back to their hometown. On the contrary, another
battle with Manchu can be expected, which inevitably inflicts more casualties. It is overwhelming to

brown eyes. Now, Eugene is an outlandish kid, he never seemed to fit in anywhere he went. Except
the aquarium, and little Eugene was just fascinated by one particular species, the dolphin. Some
people would even say he was obsessed. Every day Eugene would swim in his vibrant pink kitty pool,
eat his favorite snack tuna, fresh from the Nuta can, and make clicks almost as if he was imitating a
dolphin noise.
Eugene was so indulged by dolphins that he actually started to ponder that he was a dolphin. Not a
soul really knows what led him to believe this, but Eugene just wouldn t give up his imagination.
Some people theorized he was maniacal, and several people considered Eugene is just a clueless kid.
He knew in his heart that he was a porpoise, and nothing anybody said would eradicate this idea off of
his attention. He is a dolphin, but I ll let you adjudicate for yourself.

In this research is to show the differences of the Austroads pavement design and AASHTO pavement

as semi empirical in pavement design. For the mechanistic design process, the first process is about
the design traffic (ESA). To design the traffic, traffic loading is the main parameter to be known.
Traffic loading contains four type of design such as seal design, highway pavement design, airports

heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) only and converted to Equivalent Standard Axles (ESA) but

Using A Warrant Should Not Be Allowed Essay
Many cases have been brought to court and are continuing to be brought that say location tracking
without a warrant should not be allowed. The argument most often used is that it is a violation of the
right to privacy. A warrant is not the only way to obtain these records nor should it be. There are valid
reasons that data can be obtained through other methods. The issue is across many platforms of digital
communication but the most prominent and easiest to explain is with cell phones. The use of historical
location tracking data is not a violation of privacy, in fact there is no right to privacy as most
understand the term.
We are tracked almost constantly as participants of todays interconnected world. Every time we
connect to the internet whether it be using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smart phone that connection
and the traffic passed is tracked. Even the infotainment systems in our cars such as the Onstar system
available in some General Motors vehicles is capable of tracking and in turn reporting out locations.
The IP address of the device used and the addresses connected to are tracked. If location services are
turned on as many applications require to function, then that is tracked as well. Companies collect this
information for many reasons with a major one being to sell targeted ads to us based on where we are
and what we normally do. This is something we agree to as part of the user agreements as often if it is
not agreed to the application will not work or at

Ethical And Legal Case Study
Ethical Legal Issues in Woodlock v. Orange Ulster B.O.C.E.S. (2006/2008)
School counselors are responsible for abiding by the ethical standards. The ethical standards should be
known by school counselor educators as well as taught to students (ASCA, 2010). According to the
American School Counseling Association (ASCA; 2010), professional school counselors are
advocates, leaders, collaborators and consultants who create opportunities for equity in access and
success in educational opportunities by connecting their programs to the mission of schools and
subscribing to professional responsibility (p. 1). Ethical standards and laws are both based on
generally accepted norms, beliefs, customs, and values (Linde, 2015, pp. 147 148). While school
counselors are to respect the personal beliefs of their clients under the ethical standards (Linde, 2015),
they also need to abide by the law due to the law carrying greater sanctions or penalties for failure to
comply (Linde, 2015, p. 148). The ethical standards and laws are to ensure the best interest of the
client (Linder, 2015, p. 148).

Sexual Offenders And The Modus Operandi Of Fenders
Your Voice:
Child sex abuse is an increasingly contemporary social problem. It is relatively neglected due to many
alleged offences being reported, long after they occurred or not being disclosed at all. I was
immediately interested in this article as I am very fascinated by the psychological and theoretical
explanations behind sexual offenders and the modus operandi of the offenders. This study produces
quantitative data which gives a comprehensive view about the subject. Not only does it research into
interfamilial offenders but also into extrafamilial, mid type and deniers. Thus generating an extensive
range of different types of criminals within the same topic. I found this article engaging to read as the
facts and figures gave a clear understanding to how many offences of child abuse are actually
prosecuted. It was frightening to read that the majority of the participants were interfamilial offenders,
suggesting an ultimate betrayal between the offender and the victim, plus the victims family. This
deeper level of scrutiny instantly made the article become more interesting. I am particularly keen to
discover how the offender selects the specific victim and how he/she fits the required needs of their
characteristics. Both Smallbone and Wortley note this study is shorthand of a much more detailed in
depth version.

The authors, Dr Smallbone and Dr Wortley believed that this study was necessary to conduct as the

I recently read your reaction to the new Getty Museum. I found that your opinions about J. Paul Getty
s museum align with my thoughts about the museum. You said the outer aesthetics of the museum
provide people with a heated art controversy. You said that a museum must not portray a non neutral
or partial nature between the museum s looks and its content. My perception of the museum falls
under the relation between a statue and its pedestal. Most people observe and admire statues that sit
atop a simple, uniform pedestal. But, when the pedestal receives a makeover making it highly
glorified, the spotlight slightly shifts from the statue onto the pedestal. People don t lose complete
sight of the statue, but people still appreciate and admire

Examples Of Loss Of Innocence In Fly Away Peter
How does Malouf show the loss of innocence in Jim during World War One?
David Malouf s novel Fly Away Peter charts out the life of protagonist, Jim Sadler. Jim Sadler starts
the novel as an innocent young man who lives on the Coast of Queensland. As Jim shows his love and
appreciation for birds, he ends up getting a job at a sanctuary owned by Ashley Crawthaw. His job was
to watch for the birds that migrated to and from the sanctuary. Throughout the novel the readers are
taken on the journey that Jim faces, from the innocence of a young adult to the horror and brutality of
the war. At the beginning of the novel the audience is introduced to Jim while he is gazing in the far
distance to where the swamp ended and the farmlands began(Malouf, D. Pg.1). Jim s love for birds
was strong, everything about them just amazed him he could sit for hours and watch them while
naming each as he proceeded into the day. By being in the sanctuary, Jim is protected from the harsh
reality of the outside world. Having grown up in the country, he is oblivious to how cruel the world is.
Once exposing himself to the outside world and goes to the town centre, without much awareness
regarding the war, he feels pressured to join the War Effort. Jim is aware of the need to extend his
experiences within life and acknowledges the changes that war will certainly bring. On Jim s arrival to

Deliciousness is both ingrained and learned, both personal and universal. It is a product of all five
senses (hearing included) interacting in unexpected ways, those sensory signals subject to gross
revision by that clump of nerve tissue we call the brain. These cells have chemical receptors attuned to
the five basic tastes bitter, sweet, sour, salt and umami. These five tastes are enough to help determine

How Does Prospero Change In The Tempest
In Shakespeare s play, The Tempest , Prospero, the main character, is the rightful Duke of Milan. He
found refuge on a distant island after his brother, Antonio, seized Prospero s title and homeland. These
events and experiences of being exiled advance character to become isolated and enriched at the same
time. As a comic hero, Prospero start off as being frustrated and vengeful due to his separation from
his title and homeland, but is later refined due to those experiences.
Antonio s dethroning of Prospero is not only the reason why Prospero is alienated but it also is a great
example about the theme of betrayal that is prominent in the book. Antonio s betrayal in particular,

serving another master, these acts of change are key to the improvement and empowerment Prospero
learns after being on the island. The is a growth and arch shown about the character as he states, The
rarer action is in virtue than in vengeance. Prospero also shows enrichment of character when he sets
Ariel free after commanding him to make smooth sailing upon the return to Naples and Milan,
contrasting to the beginning of the play when Prospero seems ungrateful about the service of Ariel.
The problem Prospero had that paved the way to him being exiled, was his obsession with studying
his art/magic. It is through his experience on the island where he finally comes to realize that the
source and self improvement that he needed to make was giving up his magic. This is symbolized by
the throwing away of his books and his plea to the audience to release him from his bands . By giving
up his magic, the reason he couldn t be an affective Duke, shows how his alienation on the island

Gladiator Directed by Ridley Scott, Gladiator is an epic tale of honor, love, loyalty and power.
If you could only see two movies a year make Gladiator one of them. It is full of action, adventure,

Russell Crowe plays the Roman General, Maximus, who heads the Roman Army in their conquers of
Europe and Africa under the emperor Marcus Aurelius. Maximus has served Rome for two years, 264
days and this morning, and is anxiously awaiting his release by the emperor so that he may go home

When Aurelius reveals his announcement to the anxious Commodus, he suffocates his father to gain
what he thinks is rightfully his, the power of emperor.
Commodus is a weak, young man. He is so frightened of Maximus that he orders the execution of
Maximus and his family. Maximus is able to escape execution but could not save his family in time.
The most heart wrenching scene of the movie is Maximus finding his wife and (more) child
brutalized, burned and hanging on the family front porch. Maximus weeps for his family but also for
his own death. The thought of seeing his family is the only thing that has kept him alive. You can feel
the love he feels for them. Crowe makes you believe the pain and heartache that Maximus is feeling.
You ache for his loss and want revenge against Commodus.
Maximus becomes enslaved in a foreign land and is forced to fight for his life as a gladiator. Maximus
fame as a gladiator grew within Rome as his skill at combat became apparent. Commodus fears that
Maximus will turn the Roman people against him and return rule of Rome to the Senate.
Maximus is a hero for the people and Commodus is a snake. This movie is believable. The acting by
Crowe and Phoenix makes you believe the stories and the use of digital imagery recreates ancient
Rome down to the last intricate detail.
Even if you go just for the special effects you won t be disappointed.

The Gunpowder Plot carry out its criminal activities with the objective of using violence in order to meet political ends, such as overthrowing or destabilizing an existing socio political system. Now, looking back at the Gunpowder Plot it can be stated that it fits the definition on each point that Symeonidou Kastanidou (2004) brings about. They were a group of thirteen skilled man, who planned an attack on parliament. Attack was planned over the certain period of time, they had finance and equipment (thirty six barrels of gunpowder, fuse and a fire) to carry out an attack. Equipped with religious grievances and the intention to kill the King and members of the parliament (symbolic place, that is where all the mischief happened according to Catesby). Death of the king would have had brought change of the regime from the Protestant rule to the Catholic reign or created social dissatisfaction and condemnation (Fraser, 1996). Schmid (1992 cited in Lutz and Lutz, 2013) states that for an assassination to be an act of terrorism, it must involve not only an assassin and its victim but also a wider society, that in case of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Butko (2006; Freedman, 2005) slightly reflects on Symeonidou Kastanidou s (2004) definition in less mechanical way by adding to it that there should be certain psychological effect on innocent victims. In case of the Gunpowder Plot, if the Plot would have failed to achieve its intended purpose, plotters expected at least to evoke condemnation of the society towards the King. The most definitive feature of terrorism in Butko s (2006) opinion is the threat of violence or use of violence towards innocent people, if all of the barrels with the gunpowder would have been ignited the casualties would have been enormous and it is not that hard to imagine, in light of the September 11, the state of horror it would have inflicted upon the London and the whole ... • 3. Benefits Of A Incentive Pay For Teachers Incentive Pay for Teachers If you re a student, it may not be long before you find yourself in a classroom competing with peers from all over the world. With the ensuing tide of globalization, the top companies and firms will be able to look beyond students from local schools and access a growing global talent pool. Over the last two decades, countries around the world have focused on expanding and innovating education as the key to maximizing well being, reducing poverty, and increasing economic growth. As a result, Canada may soon find itself trailing behind international standards, which would gravely impact Canada s ability to stay competitive with the global economy. Having spent the second most out of 32 developed countries in the world, Canadians understand the importance of investing in education. Improving education outcomes is a key priority for governments around the world, if Canada wants to stay competitive it must be willing to innovate. One idea long neglected: incentive pay for teachers. It sounds simple enough: an honest day s pay for an honest day s work, those who achieve better results should be better compensated in return. But depending on who you ask, the notion is either rationally straightforward or utterly perverse. The idea that teachers should be compensated based on their performance has Canadians entrenched in a heated debate. In 2014, a report published by the Fraser Institute advocating for teacher incentive pay was immediately met with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Compare and contrast the poems Anthem for Doomed Youth by... Compare and contrast the poems Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen and The Soldier by Rupert Brooke. What are the poets attitudes towards war and how do they convey these attitudes? Wilfred Owen s Anthem for Doomed Youth and Rupert Brooke s The Soldier express opposing views towards war and matters related to it. Owen condemns war as the cause of immense and painful loss of youths, killed like animals. He also attacks the church, generally held to preserve human life and dignity, implying it is powerless and irrelevant in a war situation. Brooke expresses ready acceptance (his view is meant to be the general view) of possible death on his country s behalf in grateful return to her for having bore, shaped and made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If Brooke had mentioned materialistic things like special rights, possession or power then it gives rise to the thought that his gratitude is questionable, because he has enjoyed privileges denied to others. In the second stanza, Brooke whole heartedly declares that he will return to England what he has been given. In his poem, Brooke doesn t criticise war or religion but emphasises whole hearted readiness to return to England what he has been given. The spiritual being created and enriched by England is returned gratefully. Brooke doesn t mention anything about the horrors of war. Even death is not presented as something repulsive or of a loss but instead as a repayment to his country. He feels indebted to England and is completely happy to settle his debt. He will return to England what she gave him his dust and delightful thoughts . Brooke s poem has a confident tone of quiet conviction. The whole poem sounds proud and dignified. Much of the time Brooke just praises England and this makes the poem seem cheerful even. The first four lines of his poem are very patriotic If I should die, think only this of me In that rich earth a richer dust concealed . Brooke says these lines in a quiet confident manner. The tone lightens from then, as he describes pleasant things like flowers , love and rivers . The beginning of the second stanza repeats the first line, and continues with a calm statement of returning England s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Bismarck Napoleon III and the Outbreak of the... Bismarck Napoleon III and the Outbreak of the Franco Prussian War Bismarck, Napoleon III, and the Outbreak of the Franco Prussian War The unification of Germany threw all of Europe off its axis. With the formation of this new power there were now five major powers instead of four. This would work to unsettle age old alliances and confuse the entire European continent for more than twenty years. Not least among the nations swept of their proverbial feet was France. France was a rival with the German alliance long before it merged into one state, but the new stability of a unified Germany made it a much more powerful entity. France scrambled to try and establish a sense of security, immediately demanding compensation in the form of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seemed that the Germans were using the same tactic that they would use almost fifty years later, goading their enemies into an irrevocable stance and into war. Ducrot urged the French that a pre emptive strike across the Rhine would catch Germany off guard and they could march all the way to Berlin. However, the French military heads had no plan in effect for a possible altercation with Germany and did not until the war was eminent. They toyed with the idea of a possible alignment with Austria Hungary, but their government was wary of such an arrangement but agreed to a triple alliance that included Italy. This would, the Archduke estimated, create a force of nearly one million allied troops against a force of roughly half a million Germans (Hwd 47). Finally, the event that would spur the war came to pass. The Hohenzollern candidature for the Spanish crown had come open following the revolution against Queen Isabella in 1868. The crown was initially refused by Prince Charles Anthony and then offered to his son Leopold with the influence if William I. Leopold reluctantly accepted the Spanish crown out of respect and servitude to Germany (Hwd 48). The acceptance of the Spanish crown and the lack of anyone to announce it until considerable time had passed outraged the French and most of the remainder of Europe. France took it as a slap to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Role Of Women s Video Games When discussing the role of women in video games, it is important to establish what an acceptable female character is. An acceptable female character has her own motivations that are not dependent on a male character, is not overtly sexualized, and has a multi dimensional personality. A well written female character has a storyline that is independent of other male characters and does not serve to further male storylines. The Last of Us, developed by Naughty Dog, follows Joel as he leads Ellie, a young girl, across a post apocalyptic world. Ellie, rather than existing as a tool to further Joel s man pain, acts on her own inhibitions. Ellie also becomes a playable character at certain points and Alexandra Neonakis, part of the team that created the game, states that these are some of the most important plot points (JAMSTEW, 2015). The story itself focuses on the fact that she may contain the cure to the infection that has riddled the United States, turning people into a zombie like state. While some may see the relationship of Joel and Ellie as merely Joel using Ellie for his own purposes, it is more of a mutual relationship. With the influence of Joel and other factors, Ellie goes on a journey from a damsel in distress to a fully capable and complex character , states Neonakis (JAMSTEW, 2015). The game attempted to showcase a relationship between man and women where each needed each other for support and to improve themselves. A women s sexuality can be an integral part ... • 7. The Structure Of The Foundation Of Json Schema Foundation of JSON Schema Introduction JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is the most popular semi structured data format for sending API requests and responses but it is still lacking a standardized schema or meta data definition that allows the developers to specify the structure of JSON documents. JSON is a data format based on the data types of JavaScript Programming. JSON data models comprises of strings, numbers and other types of data that database system treats as atomic. JSON is also used for storing data, and that too in the format of choice for several document oriented databases such as MongoDB[3] and CouchDB[5]. This paper has been formally arranged in a way that it provides the reader complete understanding of what JSON is and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the next step, the practical use case of increasing importance is demonstrated in Schema definition for Wikidata [6]. All the six types of valid JSON document such as object, array, string. Numbers, boolean values and null can be specified by a JSON schema. Here, the key point to understand is that a JSON document satisfies a schema if it satisfies all keywords of schema. Formally, a schema S and a document J can be represented as J|= S to describe that J satisfies S. |= is to define all six types of JSON document as well as their combinations and enumerations. Formal Analysis The efficiency of working with JSON schema and its expressive power is discussed in this section. It is observed whether the computational cost of document conforms to a schema. Later, JSON schema is compared with various well established theoretical formalisms such as nondeterministic finite state automata. Practical Considerations To understand the efficiency and applicability of JSON Schema, an experimental analysis is undergone in this section of the article where the author initially runs a series of experiments to test self developed validators under JSON document of increasing sizes. Later, a real use case named Wikidata Database is used where JSON schema can be naturally used. Experiment under JSON document of increasing size For this experiment, a machine with 8 GB ... The second son of George Philip and Augusta Wilhelmine Gein. Augusta despised her husband, an alcoholic who was unable to keep a job. He worked various times as a carpenter and an insurance salesman. Augusta owned a local grocery shop and later sold it in 1914 for a farm to live in isolation near Plainfield, Wisconsin, which was there permanent home. Augusta took advantage of the isolation by turning away outsiders from getting close to her sons. Edward only left the farm to attend school. Outside of school, he spent most of his time doing chores on the farm. Edward was shy, and classmates and teachers remembered him as having strange mannerisms, such as random laughter. He tried to make friends but his mother would punish him whenever he tried. Lacking Social development, he did fairly well in school, particularly reading class. Later in 1940 his father died from a heart failure caused by his alcoholism on April 1, at age 66. Ed and his brother Henry began doing odd around town to help pay living expenses. The brothers were reliable and honest by the community. Henry later began dating a divorced, single mother of two and he planned on moving in with them. Valente 1. What is the most interesting event in this book? I think the most riveting part of this book was when September got to the Lonely Gaol and experienced all the events at the end. Most of the book leads up to the end, and many things were confusing until then. In the end, everything connected and made sense, and I love when that happens. The way September made the raft to sail across the sea was amazing, and the people and things she met were fascinatingly creative. She figured out that the Marquess was actually Good Queen Mallow by peeling away the plaque and seeing it read Maud Elizabeth Smythe instead of September and then making the ties between Maud and the Marquess. I thought that the ending was the most intriguing and spectacular part of the book. 2. What is the major problem in this book? September s journey in this book had many hardships, but there were actually two that really stood out in my mind. One of the main conflicts was September going to get the Marquess sword in return for Goodbye s spoon. This was a main conflict because it was such a big problem for her; she encountered many trials to her friends and her own self. The second main conflict, which was slightly more significant, came after her first problem. This is where she has to rescue her Saturday, the Marid, Ell, the Wand, then deal with the ... • 12. Noah s Piety In The Play In the York Corpus Christi Plays, many of the characters are so over top, so remarkably buffoonish that those characters are ultimately quite comedic in effect. To a modern audience, a comedic biblical character may seem blasphemous it may seem morally wrong to laugh at Jesus s executioners as they struggle to crucify Christianity s most important figure. However, when examining exactly how those characters function in the play, the comedic nature of those characters may not be wholly blasphemous in effect. For example, do those comedic executioners only make the audience laugh at Jesus s crucifixion, or do they emphasize Jesus s calm and solemn nature? Similarly, plays about Noah s ark and the great flood include comedic characters, yet those plays do not feel totally blasphemous. Instead, the inclusion of a variety of characters in these plays seems more nuanced. In the York Corpus Christi Play The Building of the Ark, Noah s piety is established through his undying trust in God and his general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout his encounter with God, Noah does not question God s intentions or his plan. The only thing Noah questions is his own ability to perform such great actions (which is, again, related to his pious humility), never God s general plan. Not only is Noah humble, he is also obedient and trusts in his God. In attributing Noah s piety to humility, trust in God, obedience, and gratitude, The Building of the Ark subsequently praises these attributes and establishes them as virtues. Thus, the play not only categorizes Noah as pious (and explains what exactly makes him a pious character), the play also makes the public aware of how one can become pious like ... Guitar Comparison Weather it be Coke and Pepsi, Mac and Windows, or Nike and Adidas, for every successful brand in the world, there is always another equally popular one in existence whose presence divides the human race. This seemingly natural rise of rivalry has found its place in the vast world of music, in particular, the electric guitar. Behold Fender and Gibson. Two brands that have blown the competition out of the water for more than half a century and become something much more than just a brand. Unlike other corporations, these two guitars have earned the respect and praise of the public; their dual monopoly is seen not as a negative, but as an opportunity to provide the world with cheap, yet powerful and beautiful instruments. And while guitarists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is the most important part. When all is said and done, guitars that sound better are by default better. The category of tone has been dominated by Fender and Gibson. The two guitars offer the best sound at the best price. The key to good tone and sound is good pickups. Pickups are located underneath the strings, by where the picking takes place. He pick up the electromagnetic waves from the string and send them out of the guitar. Stats use three single coil pickups with the third one slightly slanted. These type of pickups offer a very distinct sound only fender is capable of creating. It is best described as twangy and crisp. They sound extremely bright and behave well in all genres of music. The single coil pickups are sloppy and primitive, but that is all part of the Fender sound. Gibson Les Pauls uses what are called humbucker pickups. These are essentially just two single coiled pickups placed right next to each other. What this does is that all the background buzz and feedback that the guitar picks up is killed. These pickups are better described as warm and soft, they seem to fill the air better. But what makes Gibsons special is the way they behave using overdrive. • 14. Three Major Factors Of The European Colonies In The New World Beginning in the 17th century, European settlers began migrating and colonializing the New World discovered by Christopher Columbus, centuries earlier. The process of colonialization was brutal, it sparked native resistance, and overtime, created tension with Europe. There were several differences between the colonies that were established. However, the motivation to colonialize the New World remained the same for most colonies. Three major factors contributed to the beginning colonies in the 17th century; God, gold, and glory. Many issues were rising in Europe, including religious intolerance. Citizens were not free to worship whatever they pleased, they had to abide by the rules and laws of the Church. Political instability, and economic developments were also contributing factors to emigration. The promise of new gold and new trade also sparked interest amongst rulers. Recordings from earlier periods revealed new jewels that the Indigenous People owned. The small amount of writing from this period also suggests that rulers thought of new trade possibilities. Of course, the biggest factor was glory. Spain, Portugal, France, Britain, and other countries were constantly trying to compete for dominance. The thought of new territory to conquer and claim in the New World sparked major emigration. Global dominance and power was a goal that Europeans had in mind, and the New World was the promise land. • 15. When Taking Theology And Ethics Before taking Theology and Ethics, I was a firm believer of the Lord, but I had never once thought in different ways to interpret him or his word. I had taken religion classes in my church while in high school, and we were never told or asked to think of how we interpret God s word as I have in my theology class. That is a mistake made by many churches and the church classes for students that they offer. What they tend to do is stuff information down the people s throats instead of explaining different ways of understanding God in their own unique way. I know that s what happened to me while I was in church classes. I was only told information and forced to participate even though I didn t fully understand God. It was not until I went to a church retreat where I felt God, and it was a feeling I had never experienced before, it was a new discovery for me. The point is that I didn t feel God in class, because that was not the teachers job. The teacher s job is to educate us on the Lord so we can be ready to pass a test at the end of the class, the goal should be for the students to understand and find God. I m still surprised how I had never thought nor learned of breaking down the holy trinity. I was taught what the Holy Trinity was, but I never went beyond knowing it was the father, the son, and the holy spirit. I had never opened my eyes to the things this theology class has questioned of me and make me pounder on. One of the most interesting things that made me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While gambling goes against what many economists would consider rational behavior, it still has a way of drawing people. Maybe it s the thrill of playing, or a chance at hitting the jackpot. People are even drawn to gambling whilst under serious economic stress, such as living with a small budget. Do these gamblers think about their own budget constraints when putting large sums of money on the table? Why are brick and mortar gambling institutions legal while online gambling was banned outright? And how do advances in technology effect gambling in the future? My hypothesis is that economic fluctuations in the market have a nominal effect on gambling. These risk takers take very little into account in terms of their overall economic situation and act on impulse. Their savings and other financial issues would take a backseat to risking their money for a small chance at financial gain. This would mean that gambling as a while is fairly inelastic. With the Internet era upon us, technology advances will shift gambling from casinos to websites, as long as it is allowed to do so by countries respective governments. In countries such as the United States, the government has held up very strict laws and regulations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The short stories The Follower by Jack Gantos and Sucker by Carson McCullers both illustrate events in which one s actions had negative lasting effects on another. This essay will examine the poor actions by characters in the text and the effects those actions triggered. The Follower by Jack Gantos features three main characters. Jack, a tween who meets two brothers who lives next door, Scary Gary and Frankie. Depicted as a teenager, Jack also portrays Scary Gary as a crazy type of person. He doesn t enjoy dangerous situations, he enjoys others experiencing them. Scary Gary takes pleasure in seeing others getting put through pain. Frankie, Scary Gary s test dummy before Jack came along, always complied to Scary Gary s commands, even if it s as extreme as catapulting himself to the neighbor s yard. Ethical dilemmas can be divided into three categories, including ontological, epistemological and methodological dilemmas. Peter Koller stressed the role of virtues, because a moral practice can never rely on the insight in moral norms alone, but also requires appropriate human attitudes that motivate people according to these norms . Complete ignorance of moral agent itself makes consequentialism and deontology a bit unrealistic, so I would like to resort to virtue ethics, a system relying on multiple virtues to guide one s behavior. While families are so irreplaceable that surrender sounds appealing, love is not the only virtue bounded. Fulfilling the obligation as a Ming general driven by the prevailing belief of Zong is powerful enough to cause hesitation. Furthermore, it seems intolerable to me to take the risk of sacrificing the fate of a whole country to try to save one person s life. Even if Manchu help Wu to suppress Li s troop successfully, Wu cannot assure himself that Manchu armies will not seize the opportunity to conquer Ming rather than retreat back to their hometown. On the contrary, another battle with Manchu can be expected, which inevitably inflicts more casualties. The argument most often used is that it is a violation of the right to privacy. A warrant is not the only way to obtain these records nor should it be. There are valid reasons that data can be obtained through other methods. The issue is across many platforms of digital communication but the most prominent and easiest to explain is with cell phones. The use of historical location tracking data is not a violation of privacy, in fact there is no right to privacy as most understand the term. We are tracked almost constantly as participants of todays interconnected world. The ethical standards should be known by school counselor educators as well as taught to students (ASCA, 2010). According to the American School Counseling Association (ASCA; 2010), professional school counselors are advocates, leaders, collaborators and consultants who create opportunities for equity in access and success in educational opportunities by connecting their programs to the mission of schools and subscribing to professional responsibility (p. 1). Ethical standards and laws are both based on generally accepted norms, beliefs, customs, and values (Linde, 2015, pp. 147 148). This study produces quantitative data which gives a comprehensive view about the subject. Not only does it research into interfamilial offenders but also into extrafamilial, mid type and deniers. Thus generating an extensive range of different types of criminals within the same topic. I found this article engaging to read as the facts and figures gave a clear understanding to how many offences of child abuse are actually prosecuted. It was frightening to read that the majority of the participants were interfamilial offenders, suggesting an ultimate betrayal between the offender and the victim, plus the victims family. This deeper level of scrutiny instantly made the article become more interesting. I am particularly keen to discover how the offender selects the specific victim and how he/she fits the required needs of their characteristics.
