Channel Estimation And Blocking Probability For Multi Hop...
The paper presents the design of channel estimation and blocking probability for multi hop wireless
communication network (MH WCN). This work proposed a bidirectional network coding 4в€’hop
transmission strategy and followed by 2Nв€’hop WCNs. The proposed method follows two steps.
Firstly, assign composite channel coefficients at desired nodes and then derived the MSE
performance expression for the proposed LMMSE estimation scheme, and an optimal training
scheme has been designed to minimize MSE. Secondly, Fault tolerant wavelength assignment
algorithm. This method checks for the establishment of fault free path, when path established,
assign a particular wavelength to the established path. The experimental results shows the LMMSE,
blocking probability and ML estimators have demonstrated effectiveness to improve the estimation
accuracy in 4в€’hop WCNs.
Index term: Fault tolerant wavelength assignment algorithm, Multi hop wireless communication
networks, mobile social networks, network coding, channel estimation.
I. INTRODUCTION
In recent years, there has been significant advances in wireless networking. Such advances are
improved by the demand of new practical and military applications as well as advances in wireless
communication technology at the communication layer. These new advances at upper and lower
layers in communication have brought many new research problems for networking researchers.
Among these problems, a fundamental problem is to determine performance limits and

A hallmark of sociocultural anthropology is its concern with similarities and differences, both
within and among societies, and its attention to race, sexuality, class, gender, and nationality.
Research in sociocultural anthropology is distinguished by its emphasis on participant
observation, which involves placing oneself in the research context for extended periods of time
to gain a first hand sense of how local knowledge is put to work in grappling with practical
problems of everyday life and with basic philosophical problems of knowledge, truth, power, and
justice. Topics of concern to sociocultural anthropologists include such areas as health, work,
ecology and environment, education, agriculture and development, and social change. * Biological
(or Physical) Anthropology
Biological anthropologists seek to understand how humans adapt to diverse environments, how
biological and cultural processes work together to shape growth, development and behavior, and
what causes disease and early death. In addition, they are interested in human biological origins,
evolution and variation. They give primary attention to investigating questions having to do with
evolutionary theory, our place in nature, adaptation and human biological variation. To understand
these processes, biological anthropologists study other primates (primatology), the fossil

68 0.3(imports), R2 = .25, Prob F = .26, F critical =2.91
a.
If imports by an industry equal 60, what is the estimate of exports from this industry? 50
b.
How confident are you of your estimate? Explain. Not Very. The F statistic is far below the
critical value which means the coefficient are not jointly significant and since there is only one
coefficient it will not be significantly significant. In addition the R squared is fairly low and only
explains 25% of the variation in exports.
c. How much of the variation is explained by the regression? 25%

A Life Of Helen Keller A Social Activist
Helen Adams Keller was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. In 1882, she fell ill and
was hit blind, deaf, and mute. Helen Keller is an admirable woman in history because she helped
other people with similar diseases and was the co founder for the American the Civil Liberties
Union (ACLU). Meanwhile, Anne Sullivan helped her with her life, education, and social
activism. As Keller grew up in her childhood she had a companion, Martha Washington, who
helped her develop a limited method of communication. First of all, Helen s life was tough when
she became blind, mute, and deaf. There was a time when she became very wild and
uncontrollable. She would kick and scream when she was angry, and giggle uncontrollably when

Atlanta, Ga Vacation Spots Essay
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I have been to many places like Paris, France, and
many other places, but one of my favorite places to go to is to Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there
are many places to go and sights to see. For example, Six Flags, Stone mountain Park, and the
Atlanta Braves Stadium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. These places are family oriented and
are easy to get to by a car, or a bus.
Six Flags is a theme park that has anything from sweet treats to fun rides. Six Flags provides many
things for all ages to do and enjoy. You also can see famous cartoon characters, such as Bugs Bunny,
walking around the park. Teenagers and adults who have strong stomachs might enjoy riding the
huge roller coasters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My favorite activity is the laser show. The laser show takes place on the mountain. Stone Mountain
Park is also a main focal point for the 1996 Olympics.
Lastly, is the exciting Atlanta BravesStadium, I spent most of my time there when visiting
Atlanta. The stadium is always packed with rowdy Braves fans wearing various forms of
Atlanta Braves t shirts, hats and of course THE foam fingers. The crowds are just as fun to
watch as the actual game itself. They get into the game by hollering and cheering for the Braves
to win the game. There are many concession stands that serve hot dogs, pizza, nachos, and cold
drinks. It is fun to see all of the players dressed in their uniforms, they all looked like they were
excited to play. The coaches were helping some of the players on the field and going over plays.
The coaches seemed more anxious to get the game started. The field itself was so green and the
dirt was so clean looking. The Braves games have been more interesting over the past couple of
years.
In conclusion, there are many places to visit in Atlanta. The most exciting ones include Six
Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Braves Stadium. Each one offers various forms of fun
for all ages. For instance, Six Flags offer kiddie rides as well as rides for the older children and
adults. Stone Mountain Park offers horseback riding and laser shows. Lastly, the Braves Stadium
offers great food and famous autographs. Everyone should visit the city of

Comparing The Soldier And Dulce Et Decorum Est
Contrasting War Poems Essay
The Soldier, by Rupert Brooke, and Dulce et Decorum Est, written by Wilfred Owen three years
later, are both war poems, written by officers that fought on the trenches. However, the poems
have very different attitudes to war: The Soldier supports the war and glorifies it, while Dulce et
Decorum Est is anti war. In this essay I intend to explore the differences between the poems I will
commence by talking about the religious ideas, which leads me on to the representation of death.
After that I will talk about the naivety of the poet, and the poem s views on enlisting. Finally, I will
talk about the structure of the poem, which gives a message about the author s views on the war.
The two poems each present a very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This reinforces the fact that Wilfred Owen was not naГЇve, because he knew what he was talking
about, unlike Rupert Brook, who had no personal experience of dying as of when the poem was
written.
The next difference between the two poems is the encouragement of enlisting. Dulce et Decorum
Est presents war as not a glorious thing, by dehumanising the soldiers, and calling them old
beggars under sacks and hags . At the end of the poem, the poet goes on to say:
...My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory...
Here, the poem clearly presents its anti enlistment views, which makes it not patriotic, because the
poem is not supporting the country. He goes further, quoting the first line of a famous poem written
by the Roman poet Horace, Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori (which was well known and often
quoted by supporters of the war), and calling it a lie ; this is emphasised by the use of a capital L.
Rupert Brooke s poem, however, paints an extremely idealistic view of war, which is very
patriotic; the poem mentions the word England or a derivative of it six times in the 14 line poem,
and it is referred to constantly throughout the poem. Therefore The Soldier is pro enlistment, due to
the amount patriotism in the poem, which encourages people to also be patriotic and do their duty
to the

Essay On Page Optimization
#3. On Page Optimization
On page optimization is probably the most technical aspect of optimizing a website. However,
with the help of a good guide and the use of effective tools (such as the Screaming Frog), the
process becomes a easy task to do. With this in mind, the on page optimization checklist is
designed to easy to follow and, importantly, easy to understand. It will help you understand where
you are losing out in as far as UX, and search engine performance is concerned.

Essay On Voltaire s Candide-Religious Conflict
Religious Conflict in Candide and Our World Today
Candide, the 18th century novel by Voltaire, describes the adventures of a naive young man named
Candide. On his journey, Candide meets many people of different religious persuasions and often
finds them in violent conflict. In the novel, as in the modern world, people often act violently
towards each other, based on religion. Voltaires beliefs are that, everyone should serve God how
they want to instead of being demanded how to serve God from religious officials. The characters
in this work are mostly negative, except the Brethren predecessor, the Anabaptist, and the old
woman. Candide meets people from many religions, such as Calvinist and Jews, who are in violent
conflict, as they still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

joined Candide and his group on the small farm (Voltaire 158). He did not want to become a
monk and he became one under his will (Voltaire 146). The reason he took a life in a monastery,
is because his parents left everything to his older brother (Voltaire 146). He had no money, and
this was the only thing he could do to live (Voltaire 146). Therefore, in Brother GiroflГ©e
situation being a religious figure is looked at as a punishment and not a reward. Voltaire, shows
that this is a prime example that religious figures see their occupation as a punishment as well. It
seems that priesthood is something you have to learn to like than to love it. Voltaire shows us that
religious officials don t even believe in what they say and they are just preaching because they
have to. The monk is not happy with his title or spiritually satisfied by becoming one (Voltaire
146). Basically he is saying that he is just a man who is preaching words that he don t understand

Ars Poetica By Macleish Essay
The poem Ars Poetica by Archibald MacLeish asks and then answers the question: What makes a
poem, a poem. As the poem progresses many traits are described, but in metaphor and simile. A
poem should be wordless as the flight of birds. Or A poem must be motionless in time as the
moon climbs. From these lines and other lines in the poem, the answer to what makes a poem, a
poem can be found. The first description given of a poem is A poem should be palpable and
mute as a globed fruit. The fruit, as a poem should be, palpable. We can hold it and see it. But as

A poem should be able to speak truths, but they shouldn t be evident. One shouldn t look at a
poem and be able to only find a single truth, many truths could apply to any poem, and it is up to
the reader to find out what that poem means to them.Next in the poem is what a poem should be
for love. The leaning grasses and two lights above the sea The answer to what that means is not
explicitly said in the poem, and is up to the readers perspective. The imagery created by the line,
gives an idea of what a poem for love should be. It should evoke thought and in a way, evoke
emotions, just as emotions are evoked by the imagery of The leaning grasses and two lights
above the sea . Lastly, to close the poem, MacLeish says A poem should not mean but be. This
line reflects what the poem has said since the beginning. A poem should not explicitly say what it
means and have one correct answer as to what the poem means. The poem is just words that
evoke an image or an opinion in the readers mind, and the reader is the one who finds meaning. A

with aphasia in general usually have difficulties with auditory understanding, reading
comprehension, written language difficulties and of course difficulty in spoken language

A topic of discussion researchers and studies have investigated proves that patients that are
categorized under fluent aphasia are patients that display difficulty with using their thoughts to
formulate language that is understood (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). With that being said individuals
with fluent aphasia usually produce speech that is normal in terms of length, articulation and do
not require much effort to state verbally (Halpern Goldfarb, 2013). While that may be simple for
patients diagnosed with fluent aphasia, communicating thoughts for listeners to understand is
much more difficult (Raymer Kohen, 2003). Individuals that have anomic aphasia are well aware
of mistakes made and are usually not successful when trying to correct their errors (Halpern

Should English For Replace Bilingual Education
The United States is home to millions of immigrants from all over the world. During 2004 more
or less about 5.3 percent or 2.8 million of Kinder twelve grade students were classified as being
limited in English proficiency. Most of these students came from homes where only Spanish was
spoken by their parents and other family members living with them. I have chosen to do my
research on Should English immersions replace bilingual education. This topic interested me as
soon as I saw it because it is something I can relate to. When I was a child, my parents brought my
brother and I to the United States. We lived right across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas which
is where I live today. I was able to start school at a kinder garden level. My family s native
language has always Spanish. When I started school, I did not know one single word in English
and my parents either, so all the help I got was in school and some private lessons I would attend
a couple times a week that my parents were able to afford. I remember my teacher would give me
one on one tutoring and would at first give me work in Spanish and then started mixing it up a bit
and would sometimes give me the work in English rather than Spanish or sometimes even both. The
teacher I have interviewed works for the Eagle Pass Independent School District, and teaches fifth
grade at Benavides Elementary. I have known her for quite some time, even though her strong
language is English she believes that English immersion

Literature Review of Organizational Change, 2000 to 2008
Introduction
There has been a considerable body of literature dedicated to assisting organisational leaders in their
endeavours to implement change (Holt, Self, Thal Lo 2002). Many authors concur that the prime
task of leaders is to bring about change and that leadership and change management are indeed
inextricably linked (Burnes 2003, Stoker 2006, Maurer 2008). Robinson and Harvey (2008)
maintain that the acceleration of globalisation has resulted in a tumultuous state of change as
organisations struggle to adapt to new models of leadership. Consequently, few would dispute that
with such increasing globalisation, deregulation, rapid pace of technology and shifting social and
demographic trends that leading organisational change is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

(2003) who argue that regardless of the specific phases of the change process or which type of
change model is used, the extent of success at the end of the process is affected by the leader s
ability to influence members of the organisation to adopt and implement change. Essentially these
influence strategies encourage affected employees to adopt and exhibit the appropriate
behaviours that translate into organisational gains (Holt et al. 2003). Landrum, Howell and Paris
(2000) also point out the importance of being able to apply leadership skills that will gain
commitment from followers and change attitudes, beliefs and if necessary the goals of followers.
Accordingly, it can be seen that one of the skills a leader and indeed a change leader must possess
is the ability to influence employees. This gives rise to establish what specific skills an individual
change leader requires to exert this influence.
Graetz (2000) and Ellinger, Ellinger and Keller (2003) highlight that there has been a radical shift in
the role of senior managers from the traditional authoritarian, command and control style to a more
open, participative approach that emphasises a non positional, team based and empowering model.
With the focus on cooperation, communication and collaboration, Graetz (2000) maintains that
managers need to adopt a completely different range of leadership skills in addition to the
traditional technical dimensions of management. Stewart and

Steroids in Major League Baseball
Steroids in Major League Baseball Anabolic steroids have been abused by Major League
Baseball players for years, it s time to forever ban the use of Performance Enhancing Drugs before

Between 1998 and 2009 ten players would join the 500 club. The game was making an uprising,

honest players playing for the love of the game, not cutting corners and taking undeserved

the offenders would be caught. The next year MLB Commissioner Fay Vincent made it clear in

What Is The Conch In Lord Of The Flies
In Golding s novel, Lord of the Flies, Golding uses a conch to symbolize civilization and order.
At the beginning of Golding s book a character named Piggy says, A conch; ever so expensive. I

Measuring Gross Income Data Is A Measure Of Economic Welfare
Evaluate the extent to which Gross Income Data is a measure of economic welfare.
Morven Chan
Economic welfare is defined as the level prosperity and financial satisfaction of participants in an
economy. Economic welfare can often be assessed through statistics such as the level of
employment. National income statistics is defined as the value of goods and services produced in
an economic system over a period of time. National Income can be broken down into four different
parts which include Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Gross National Product (GNP), GDP per
capita, and GNP per capita. National Income is used for variety of purposes in our economy. Firstly,
national income statistics are important in that most of the government s future ... Show more

Therefore as is shown through the expenditure method, the equation for GDP becomes:
GDP=C+G+I+(X M)
Looking at the equation we can see that the issue arises that from the equation, there is
absolutely no calculation which addresses the economic welfare of the people and thus, as an
economic indicator GDP excels, but as a welfare indicator, this could suggest that it may not be
the best choice. Gross national product of a specific country is the sum of the goods and services
produced by citizens of a country domestically and the output from external sources which are
owned/part of the specific country. The symbol used to represent gross national product is GNP
and the equation for the GNP can be simply written as:
GNP=GDP+Net property income from abroad
GNP and GDP per capita are the values for GDP and GNP divided by the population of the
country. They give an average value for the output of product per individual in the country. Before
looking at the cons of national income statistics, we must first note that there are redeeming points
to using national income. For one, national income does a very good job of representing growth in
the economy. However as we know economic growth is not necessarily always a positive thing.
The issue with wealth distribution is one of the many reasons why national income

with explaining the range of factors to success linked to McDonald, both globally and

main reason for their success. Vignali (2001) stated in his article that The key to the international
success of McDonald s has been the use of franchising . Today McDonald s has over 20,000

Although McDonald s do work very intensively with CSR, with their core value being Committed

The Most Popular Means Of Public And Cheapest Transport...
I was born and raised in the Philippines. In 2014, we moved into the United States. My friends
usually ask me, How s it living in America compared here in the Philippines? . Moving to another
country was a huge, scary, life changing leap. People will leave behind everything they have
developed to know, and begin to grow into new cultures and traditions. Some of the things I
observed that differs between Filipinos and Americans were about celebrations, means of
transportation and general things of culture. In the Philippines, the most popular means of
public and cheapest transport for people, goods and even sometimes little animals are Jeepneys.
Most of the time, jeepneys are always overloaded and some passengers are hanging on the back
or even at the top of the vehicle; nevertheless hanging in the jeepney isn t allowed in large cities.
For budget travelers, Jeepneys are one of the best and most comfortable transport options. There
are also Padyak in local distances, where the rider sits in a sidecar, beside the bicycle, rather than
behind it. The Filipino padyak is similar to rickshaws and tricycles. Light rail, buses, and taxis, are
the other mode of transportation in the cities like Manila; however most people just walk in the
end because of the heavy traffic. While in America, they have transit busses, taxis or trains for
public transportation. They also have subways, also known as metro an underground railway

Summary Of Lorraine Hansberry
Lorraine Hansberry, born May 19, 1930, made a very prominent contribution to society in her
short lived life. She was born to a middle class family as the youngest of four children. Her father
was a successful real estate broker who also founded one of the first Negro banks in Chicago
(Adams 247). Lorraine s mother was a schoolteacher named Nannie Perry who later became a ward
committeewoman.
In 1938, Lorraine s father took a stand against the real estate covenants in Chicago due to the fact
that they legally promoted housing discrimination. He chose to move his family into a
predominantly white neighborhood to prove his point and try to make a change. The court case
that resulted from this stand led to a lot of hostility from those around the Hansberry family. There
was a violent attack on the family s home by a mob who threw bricks into the house while
shouting. Even with this reaction to the Hansberrys moving into the neighborhood, the family
decided to stay to stand their ground. The court case went all the way to the federal Supreme Court
where the ruling was that this kind of discrimination was unlawful. However, Chicago continued
restrictive covenants anyways and eventually the Hansberry family was forced to move out of the
neighborhood ( Lorraine Hansberry Gale).
Due to the Hansberry family s middle class status and the career choices of both of her parents,
Lorraine was exposed to many prominent African Americanpolitical and cultural figures who she

Sex, Gender, And Gender
Growing up, I always believed that there was not a difference between a person s sex and
gender. Before learning about sex and gender throughout my school career, I would have defined
sex as a category in which you are born into based on what reproductive organ you are born with,
which is slightly correct. Yet, I would have defined genderin the same manner, using them
interchangeably just as most people, not knowing how complicated the terms really are. The
appropriate definition of sex referred to a person s biological status and categorized as male, female,
or intersex. Gender relates to the attitudes, feelings, and behaviors that a given culture associates
with a person s biological sex. (apa.org) I remember I would see things on tv about people who
say they were born with a body part that was different from what they felt like they were on the
inside, yet I never thought too much about it considering my mother always called it foolishness
and unreal. I had always heard the stereotype that girls were to act like girls and boys were to act
like boys. There was no in between, but if there was, it was not normal. Considering those
norms, I believe that it is not right trying to force someone to adhere to gender roles. From a
young age, everyone is taught what is appropriate for their given sex and what is not. Even
before birth, parents often categorize things according to sex: the color pink is for girls, and blue
is for boys. Parents do this because society

Francis Scott Key s The Star-Spangled Banner
The Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key as he watched his fellow Americans
stand strong in their darkest hour. For over twenty four hours Fort McHenry was bombarded by
British Navy, but the American troops fought, and so did their families. The Americans rallied
around the singular flag that stood high in the fort, and a flag that was a target for the British
armada. They planned to destroy the flag to disrupt moral, but the Americans refused to let it fall.
They used that singular flag as motivation, and motivation that eventually won them the battle. The
flag still holds the same purpose today. To remember those who have fought, or are currently
fighting in our armies. It also serves as a source of pride, motivation, and patriotism towards our
country. Knowing what our flag means to our history and our country, we can t possibly keep
letting our countries source of pride be disrespected by those attempting to promote their own cause.

authenticity, which helped them to produce creative and ground breaking music.
Some may say The Beatles were creative individuals and others may state that they were pure
geniuses. Consequently, The Beatles simply practiced team innovation by using problem to
solution and solution to problem methodology known as two way innovation. This means as a
group, they observed the problem, then created a solution. For instance, The Beatles played in
Liverpool for an hour session but needed to get better venues. They proactively cooperated to
brainstorm, write, and produce songs, which brought the group to new creative heights. We got
better and more confident. In Liverpool we only ever did one hour sessions and we only did our

The incidence of hoarseness was 11% after PACU discharge and lasted a mean of 2 days. The
etiology of these symptoms was not formally established. It is possible that symptoms were due
to prolonged block of the phrenic and recurrent laryngeal nerves. (Liu et al, 2010). Borgeat et al
2001, in a prospective study of ISB using a nerve stimulator concluded that one patient with
Marfan disease (0.2%) suffered pneumothorax. 0.2%of cases had episode of central nervous
system toxicity in the form of incoherent speech. Aspiration of blood was encountered in 0.5%of
patients but no hematoma was subsequently observed. Nerve injury after brachial plexus
anesthesia varied from 0 to more than 5%. (Borgeat et al, 2001). Peripheral nerve complications
are generally directly attributed to the performance of the block itself, but this concept was
challenged by Selander et al 1979, who indicated that other factors may be responsible as well.
(Selander et al, 1979). In 1974 Ward reported an incidence of 3% of symptomatic pneumothorax
after ISB by paraesthesia blind technique. The pneumothorax was almost certainly produced by the
prior attempt to carry out a supraclavicular block, as it is difficult to imagine the apex of the lung
reaching as high as C6, the level of an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Horner s syndrome, of which the patient is usually unaware, occurs in up to 75% of interscalene
blocks. Case reports of more significant complications have included cardiac arrest (Edde Deutsch,
1977), spinal anaesthesia (Ross Scarborough, 1973), epidural anaesthesia (Scammell, 1979) and
permanent nerve damage (Barutell et al., 1980). In the first and last of these reports needle lengths

Western Influence in China and Japan Essay
China and Japan are two unique civilizations that went through similar, yet vastly different changes
throughout their histories. Their growth and response to other nations differed in many ways in
government, lifestyle, and general well being. One of the main causes for such difference between
the countries is the way the West influenced each region, and the way Chinaand Japan responded to
this influence. China focused more on the idea of being a status oriented society, while Japan was
more goal oriented based. In China, anyone had the ability to better themselves and change their
status through civil examinations given by the government. Western impact however slowly
changed this old age system. Japan s caste system viewed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Life was not idle in China as everyone had something to do. Based on Confucian values, groups
and classes respected each other and their work knowing the value of each. Chiang s father
further demonstrated this by being an honest and generous man, respected by the people of the
village in particular and surrounding districts generally (Chiang 29). By giving honor and
reverence to others, Chiang s father in turn received such respect. His benevolence was noticed
by the community and thus treated him in a higher light. However, relation with other classes
was not always bright, especially in other nations. Chiang describes his encounters in America as
he says California was not so hospitable a land socially for the Chinese as to make on feel
congenial or at ease (Chiang 68). Regardless of being part of the elite class, he was not always
treated with the utmost status. Skin color and national origin created barriers between individuals
and societies in general. Chinese elite s relations with the other classes embodied more than the
typical notion of master and servant. Individuals were respected for their own work and valued
for what they brought to China. Fukuzawa in his autobiography details his relation with the lower
classes in an act of respect and equality. Because he was originally born into a low rank family, he
held those under him as

Essay on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Many questions about the causes of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), also known as crib
death, are still unresolved. The mysterious and elusive nature of SIDS creates problems, doubts,
and more questions. This paper will present some of the most commonly asked questions as well as
the answers that have been uncovered by scientists after years of research and study.
In 1969, researchers agreed to define SIDS as the sudden death of an infant or young child, which is
unexpected by history, and in which a thorough postmortem examination fails to demonstrate an
adequate cause of death (Bergman, 1970).
What Causes SIDS?
The cause or causes of SIDS are still unknown. Most researchers now ... Show more content on

Some people say the number is closer to 7,000 (Goyco and Beckerman, 1990). When putting it all
together the number of lives births each year, SIDS remains the leading cause of death in the
United States among infants between one month and one year of age and second only to
congenital anomalies as the leading overall cause of death for all infants less than one year of age.
How Do Professionals Diagnose SIDS? Back before people known about this disease, people often
thought they killed the baby. But, now we have autopsy to determine the cause of death. Often the
cause of an infant death can be determined only through a process of collecting information,
conducting sometimes complex tests, and talking with parents and physicians.
How Smoking Affects SIDS? First of all, cigarettes are bad for a regular person. Cigarette
smoking by the mother during pregnancy has been consistently shown in studies as a risk factor
for SIDS. A study measuring the level of tobacco smoke exposure in SIDS victims to a control
group of infants that had died of other causes. Relying on the continue concentration taken from the
pericardial fluid, researchers found that the SIDS victims were more likely to have high the
concentrations of cotinine in the fluid than the control infants. Cotinine is produced as the liver
cleanses the nicotine from the blood and metabolizes it. Steps are being took to inform people
about the

Significant Impact On The Development Of Rock N Roll
Ava Gurba 7/24/15
MUS 109 Rock Music
Midterm Exam
Both the radio and records have had significant impact on the development on rock n roll.
Similarly, the radio and records gave musical artists an extended ability to stretch their audiences.
Strongly intertwined, while they both gave listeners the ability to find artists they like, there are
some clear differences between each the developments of the radio and that of records. In the years
prior, the music industry was built on the Tin Pan Alley system that strictly controlled musicians
and popular music (Schloss, Starr, and Waterman, p. 2 7). And much like the spirit of rock n roll
itself, people within the industry eventually grew tired of conformity and no longer felt the need
to follow the rules. Radio stations started forming separate licensing companies (BMI), which
allowed them to play what they want (Schloss, Starr, and Waterman, p. 7). With an open door
policy that allowed broadcasters to play music they wanted, radio stations had the important job of
sharing a variety of music that could be heard all across the country. The radio began to function as
a way of transporting records and genres of music all over the country from the traditional cultures
they formed, which includes R B, blues, and country. This reshaped the music industry by
expanding its reach to new audiences. This, allowed songwriters working outside of mainstream
pop to claim royalties on the use of their songs on broadcasted

  • 2. Channel Estimation And Blocking Probability For Multi Hop... The paper presents the design of channel estimation and blocking probability for multi hop wireless communication network (MH WCN). This work proposed a bidirectional network coding 4в€’hop transmission strategy and followed by 2Nв€’hop WCNs. The proposed method follows two steps. Firstly, assign composite channel coefficients at desired nodes and then derived the MSE performance expression for the proposed LMMSE estimation scheme, and an optimal training scheme has been designed to minimize MSE. Secondly, Fault tolerant wavelength assignment algorithm. This method checks for the establishment of fault free path, when path established, assign a particular wavelength to the established path. The experimental results shows the LMMSE, blocking probability and ML estimators have demonstrated effectiveness to improve the estimation accuracy in 4в€’hop WCNs. Index term: Fault tolerant wavelength assignment algorithm, Multi hop wireless communication networks, mobile social networks, network coding, channel estimation. I. INTRODUCTION In recent years, there has been significant advances in wireless networking. Such advances are improved by the demand of new practical and military applications as well as advances in wireless communication technology at the communication layer. These new advances at upper and lower layers in communication have brought many new research problems for networking researchers. Among these problems, a fundamental problem is to determine performance limits and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A hallmark of sociocultural anthropology is its concern with similarities and differences, both within and among societies, and its attention to race, sexuality, class, gender, and nationality. Research in sociocultural anthropology is distinguished by its emphasis on participant observation, which involves placing oneself in the research context for extended periods of time to gain a first hand sense of how local knowledge is put to work in grappling with practical problems of everyday life and with basic philosophical problems of knowledge, truth, power, and justice. Topics of concern to sociocultural anthropologists include such areas as health, work, ecology and environment, education, agriculture and development, and social change. * Biological (or Physical) Anthropology Biological anthropologists seek to understand how humans adapt to diverse environments, how biological and cultural processes work together to shape growth, development and behavior, and what causes disease and early death. In addition, they are interested in human biological origins, evolution and variation. They give primary attention to investigating questions having to do with evolutionary theory, our place in nature, adaptation and human biological variation. • 7. Comparing The Soldier And Dulce Et Decorum Est Contrasting War Poems Essay The Soldier, by Rupert Brooke, and Dulce et Decorum Est, written by Wilfred Owen three years later, are both war poems, written by officers that fought on the trenches. However, the poems have very different attitudes to war: The Soldier supports the war and glorifies it, while Dulce et Decorum Est is anti war. In this essay I intend to explore the differences between the poems I will commence by talking about the religious ideas, which leads me on to the representation of death. After that I will talk about the naivety of the poet, and the poem s views on enlisting. This reinforces the fact that Wilfred Owen was not naГЇve, because he knew what he was talking about, unlike Rupert Brook, who had no personal experience of dying as of when the poem was written. The next difference between the two poems is the encouragement of enlisting. Dulce et Decorum Est presents war as not a glorious thing, by dehumanising the soldiers, and calling them old beggars under sacks and hags . At the end of the poem, the poet goes on to say: ...My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory... Here, the poem clearly presents its anti enlistment views, which makes it not patriotic, because the poem is not supporting the country. He goes further, quoting the first line of a famous poem written by the Roman poet Horace, Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori (which was well known and often quoted by supporters of the war), and calling it a lie ; this is emphasised by the use of a capital L. Rupert Brooke s poem, however, paints an extremely idealistic view of war, which is very patriotic; the poem mentions the word England or a derivative of it six times in the 14 line poem, and it is referred to constantly throughout the poem. Therefore The Soldier is pro enlistment, due to the amount patriotism in the poem, which encourages people to also be patriotic and do their duty to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many authors concur that the prime task of leaders is to bring about change and that leadership and change management are indeed inextricably linked (Burnes 2003, Stoker 2006, Maurer 2008). Robinson and Harvey (2008) maintain that the acceleration of globalisation has resulted in a tumultuous state of change as organisations struggle to adapt to new models of leadership. Landrum, Howell and Paris (2000) also point out the importance of being able to apply leadership skills that will gain commitment from followers and change attitudes, beliefs and if necessary the goals of followers. Accordingly, it can be seen that one of the skills a leader and indeed a change leader must possess is the ability to influence employees. This gives rise to establish what specific skills an individual change leader requires to exert this influence. Therefore as is shown through the expenditure method, the equation for GDP becomes: GDP=C+G+I+(X M) Looking at the equation we can see that the issue arises that from the equation, there is absolutely no calculation which addresses the economic welfare of the people and thus, as an economic indicator GDP excels, but as a welfare indicator, this could suggest that it may not be the best choice. Gross national product of a specific country is the sum of the goods and services produced by citizens of a country domestically and the output from external sources which are owned/part of the specific country. The symbol used to represent gross national product is GNP and the equation for the GNP can be simply written as: GNP=GDP+Net property income from abroad GNP and GDP per capita are the values for GDP and GNP divided by the population of the country. They give an average value for the output of product per individual in the country. Before looking at the cons of national income statistics, we must first note that there are redeeming points to using national income. For one, national income does a very good job of representing growth in the economy. However as we know economic growth is not necessarily always a positive thing. My friends usually ask me, How s it living in America compared here in the Philippines? . Moving to another country was a huge, scary, life changing leap. People will leave behind everything they have developed to know, and begin to grow into new cultures and traditions. Some of the things I observed that differs between Filipinos and Americans were about celebrations, means of transportation and general things of culture. In the Philippines, the most popular means of public and cheapest transport for people, goods and even sometimes little animals are Jeepneys. Most of the time, jeepneys are always overloaded and some passengers are hanging on the back or even at the top of the vehicle; nevertheless hanging in the jeepney isn t allowed in large cities. For budget travelers, Jeepneys are one of the best and most comfortable transport options. There are also Padyak in local distances, where the rider sits in a sidecar, beside the bicycle, rather than behind it. The Filipino padyak is similar to rickshaws and tricycles. Light rail, buses, and taxis, are the other mode of transportation in the cities like Manila; however most people just walk in the end because of the heavy traffic. She was born to a middle class family as the youngest of four children. Her father was a successful real estate broker who also founded one of the first Negro banks in Chicago (Adams 247). Lorraine s mother was a schoolteacher named Nannie Perry who later became a ward committeewoman. In 1938, Lorraine s father took a stand against the real estate covenants in Chicago due to the fact that they legally promoted housing discrimination. He chose to move his family into a predominantly white neighborhood to prove his point and try to make a change. The court case that resulted from this stand led to a lot of hostility from those around the Hansberry family. There was a violent attack on the family s home by a mob who threw bricks into the house while shouting. Even with this reaction to the Hansberrys moving into the neighborhood, the family decided to stay to stand their ground. The court case went all the way to the federal Supreme Court where the ruling was that this kind of discrimination was unlawful. However, Chicago continued restrictive covenants anyways and eventually the Hansberry family was forced to move out of the neighborhood ( Lorraine Hansberry Gale). Yet, I would have defined genderin the same manner, using them interchangeably just as most people, not knowing how complicated the terms really are. The appropriate definition of sex referred to a person s biological status and categorized as male, female, or intersex. Gender relates to the attitudes, feelings, and behaviors that a given culture associates with a person s biological sex. I had always heard the stereotype that girls were to act like girls and boys were to act like boys. There was no in between, but if there was, it was not normal. Considering those norms, I believe that it is not right trying to force someone to adhere to gender roles. Significant Impact On The Development Of Rock N Roll Ava Gurba 7/24/15 MUS 109 Rock Music Midterm Exam Both the radio and records have had significant impact on the development on rock n roll. Similarly, the radio and records gave musical artists an extended ability to stretch their audiences. Strongly intertwined, while they both gave listeners the ability to find artists they like, there are some clear differences between each the developments of the radio and that of records. In the years prior, the music industry was built on the Tin Pan Alley system that strictly controlled musicians and popular music (Schloss, Starr, and Waterman, p. 2 7). And much like the spirit of rock n roll itself, people within the industry eventually grew tired of conformity and no longer felt the need to follow the rules. Radio stations started forming separate licensing companies (BMI), which allowed them to play what they want (Schloss, Starr, and Waterman, p. 7). With an open door policy that allowed broadcasters to play music they wanted, radio stations had the important job of sharing a variety of music that could be heard all across the country. The radio began to function as a way of transporting records and genres of music all over the country from the traditional cultures they formed, which includes R B, blues, and country. This reshaped the music industry by expanding its reach to new audiences. This, allowed songwriters working outside of mainstream pop to claim royalties on the use of their songs on broadcasted ...
