Methodology
A. Hydrolysis of Acid Derivatives
A.1. Acyl Halides and Acetic Anhydrides
One mL of water was placed in each two test tubes. The samples, acetyl chloride and acetic anhydride,
were added separately to the test tubes by placing ten drops of each sample. A warming effect was
noted from the reaction. The resulting mixtures were divided into two portions. To the first portion, an
amount of one mL of 2% silver nitrate (AgNO3) was added. The formation of precipitate was
observed. To the second portion, one mL of saturated sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) and the
evolution of gas was noted.
A. 2. Esters
To one mL of the sample, ethyl acetate, two mL of 25% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was added. The
mouth of the test tube was covered with a marble and was heated in a boiling water bath for five
minutes. The mixture was neutralized with 10% HCl solution. The odor was observed with a wafting
motion.

with the averagely slowest reaction time. This data suggests that visual stimuli cause the fastest

nothing new for you. It is one of the most famous but at the same time the most mysterious classical
masterpieces of the 18th century. It is Fur Elise ; a classical music piece composed by German
composer Ludwig van Beethoven. This piece of music was actually published in 1867, 40 years after
Beethoven passed away in the year of 1827. When Ludwig Nohl (a german music scholar) published
his piece, he uncovered the original manuscript for Fur Elise which was dated April 27th, 1810

When looking at the other stories, I felt that many of them strayed from key ideas of humanity and

attachment to Holden and his journey. Many people sympathize with him because in some way they
have suffered as he has, everyone has lost someone or something, or eventually will, just like Holden.
Many people may argue that the book is clearly outdated as kids are a lot more driven while back in
the day kids weren t as pressured to succeed, Teenagers are more interested in Harvard than flunking
high school (Schuessler, Jennifer). Kids seem to be a lot more school oriented as well as more inclined
to strive for success than kids were 40 years ago. Many kids these days are studying hours every day
and Holden has found himself flunked out of almost every school he has attended. The book is
outdated because a lot of kids can t relate with holden s inability to succeed and that is a turnoff for a
book these days. However People still have the same goals and deeper meaning which allows readers
to really connect to Holden. since Holden s times as a teen it still is very human, and sometimes only
human to experience the, rebellious search to understand human nature and himself (Clay,J). This
quest is so important very everyone to pursue and Holden never really figured it out a his whole idea
of the catcher in the rye was debunked. It is normal for those who are lost, to inquire about life itself
as it is still a mystery to so many people.

Milton Friedman Analysis
Who should benefit, and at whose expense when running a business? Milton Friedman maintains that
profit is the only true goal, benefitting the stockholders. However, R. Edward Freeman proposes that
the needs of all a business s stakeholders must be balanced when acting. I support Freeman s view
because the environment has changed since the time of Friedman.
Milton Friedman believes the idea of businesses having some sort of responsibility to society is a
baseless notion, and describes discussions encouraging it as lacking meaningful analysis or precision.
What does it mean to say that business has responsibilities? Only people can have responsibilities

Maintaining an archaic business model would be foolish. Friedman argues that an executive should
not take profits away from the company to donate to the poor due to his own responsibilities. He then
uses this to state that business should never perform any sort of act benevolent to society if it would
not further the pursuit of profits. Unfortunately for Freidman s point of view, the blind pursuit of
profits is more often viewed as wicked and immoral (Friedman, p.222). Government regulation is
much more prevalent. Focusing on profits in today s market would soon lead your business on a sharp
decline. Moving from solely focusing on the duty to stockholders, Freeman suggests treating all
stakeholders of a business as more than a means to an end (Freeman, p.233). This can also benefit the
stockholders, as by focusing solely on increasing profits, firms can often incur the wrath of
government, forcing their hand, much like with the separation of AT T into eight separate companies
(Freeman, p.234). Stockholders are the primary beneficiary of corporation, and their money should not
be spent frivolously, but it would be difficult to turn a profit if your suppliers, employees and
customers all desert you. Each group of stakeholders has their own desires, which must be weighed
and considered, for should one leg of business fall, the entire firm will come tumbling to the ground.
The view that profit is the only responsibility for corporations is outdated. Friedman s argument may
have been valid in the past, but no longer applies. Regulation and law have increased the influence of

There was a reduction of over 1600 plastic bags ending up in the local waterways, with plastic bags
being 3.2% of all litter found in the waterways, and they were previously 8.2% in 2011.
(SanJoseCA.gov, 2012). The ban on plastic bags seemed to greatly affect the city in a positive way
and did not appear to have a negative effect at all, despite protests by some locals and business
owners.
Of course, there are adjustments with any change in policy or law, but the plastic bag ban can be one
that can help the nature preserve, as well as the local area. Essentially costs may go up initially, but in

Conclusion
In conclusion, our current resource allocation does not meet the deadlines of June 30, 2012 and we
have offered a few of our own solutions to alleviating these drawbacks. We have established that the
facility specialist rang up approximately 662hrs in our initial number crunching diagnosis, and were
able to balance that out with a secondary facility specialist. As we have pointed out before, we will
increase costs by doing this, but the costs outweigh the potential for not meeting our primary
deadlines. Attached is a list of the tasks that would be associated with the Facility Specialist which
would have him completely over allocated, from helping to select an architect, to installing equipment,
we do need the expertise but as a manager we have to mitigate the risk involved with over extending
someone s human capabilities. As we continue to plan this endeavor, we will uncover many things that
may need to change and hopefully with this pre planning we were able to reduce the amount of
changes we will make later. Thank you.

Student Learning And Understanding The Classroom
As effective a teacher can be, student learning and understanding are the primary goals in all educators
minds when they are teaching. Overall, each of the teachers is constantly trying to ensure completely
understanding, changing the lesson to adapt the pace of what the students need to learn. When her
students were not working through the lesson as quickly as she had expected, Ms. Kennedy removed a
task of the lesson for her class to be able to finish what was necessary to the class. By being adaptable
and prepared for the possibility of the lesson plans not working as successfully as planned allowed
students the ability to be able to learn what is necessary in the lesson, even if that means cutting a task
or two in the entire lesson scheme. To students who were misbehaving, they were corrected and
redirected by their name, being told to return their focus back to their work. By redirecting the
behavior back to working on their assignment put the emphasis on the importance of the learning in
the classroom. For the students who needed more time and help, Mrs. Graham would quietly tell the
students that they could keep working on the work and if time did not allow the students to continue
working, they were told they needed to finish their work for homework. The materials used were
chromebooks for the most part in their classes, which helped individualize the work. With working on

Diffusion can be defined as the movement of certain molecules down to their concentration gradient

greatly influenced my identity; these functions are socialization and future preparation. The social
aspect of school is very important. This is how we meet others and how we learn the ways of our
society, religion, and our country. We learn what is appropriate and what is not, how to behave with

Anne explained that she was born in a yellow house in Bolingbroke, Nova Scotia in March. Her father
