The Proteins Of Protein And Proteins
1. Janine and Mitchell were talking about carbohydrates and proteins. Proteins are large and
complex molecules that play many roles in the body. Our body contains many cells that are
responsible for a specific job. Proteins do most of the work in cells that are required for the
structure, function, and regulation of the body s tissues and organs. In each cell there is a lot of
proteins that work together like a machine to run each cell, just like the engine in a car proteins
look different and they all have different tasks that allow the engine to run. Proteins are made of
amino acids that are attached to one another in a long chain. Proteins are needed for mechanical
support(a fibrous protein), and also needed for immune... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. The nervous system has a structural unit called the neurone, which is a cell in its cytoplasm
containing a lot of mitochondria. Neurone produces the energy by cellular respiration and uses
glucose as a substratum. Janine is not right because it doesn t get you mad you can be without
carbohydrates but you do get really tired.
3. Janine was wrong because studies have said that there is no evidence that supports the idea that if
you intake to much protein it can cause kidney damage. Proteins do not have no negative impact on
kidneys. The metabolism consist of the constructive phase and the destructive phase, in which
complex materials are broken down. Transformation of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in food to
energy, are parts of the metabolism.
4. Calories are units by which energy is measured. Energy is the capacity to do work. The energy
in food is chemical energy. The body can convert the chemical energy to mechanical, electrical,
and heat energy. A calorie free energy drink would be misleading because calories is what they
use to measure the units of energy needed. Calories is the energy in the energy drink and if it has
no calories then it would have no energy, which would not be considered an energy drink anymore.
5. The substances that supply energy to the human body would be organic nutrients that include
carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and vitamins. Pg.4

Essay about New Century Financial Corporation
Summary: the mortgage mess happened in 2008 when there was a decreased homing price.
However, their mortgage payment by homeowners were soon greater than the price of house. As a
result, they forced the repurchase policy of many mortgage agreements, and let the subprime
lenders to take over their houses. Subprime lender like New Century became the bankrupt because
of the high lost associate with the mortgagecancelation. To maintain earning, the management

Montgomery Bus Boycott Research Paper
Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955
The Civil Rights Movement lasted for over 10 years. During that time, there were many important
events that helped the momentum for change in the segregation of African Americans. The
Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 was one of the first and most important of these events in
beginning the Civil Rights Movement. This event brought a large amount of African Americans
together who took part in an extensive boycott, leadership was created to allow for an organized
movement, and this was a major step in ending segregation on the national level.
The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 was the start of the Civil Rights Movement because of the
large amount of African Americans involved in the event. Many people understand that the trigger
for this boycott, came from Rosa Parks on December 1, 1955. She wasn t the only one to refuse to
give up her seat because a white person had nowhere else to sit, but her motif and extensive
background of support is why Rosa Parks is so important. African Americans took up a large
amount of the percentage of people who rode buses, and out of that number, 90 percent of
Montgomery s black citizens stayed off the buses The turnaround after Rosa Parks ... Show more

Native Americans Vs. The Native English-Speaking People
The difference in the two languages seem to reflect basically different ways of identifying or
understanding a person; The native English speaking people are likely to understand a person
starting with his/her present situation, while Koreans tend to grasp the others starting with their
origin. This interpretation is partly supported by the order of information listed in one s CV or

Koreans enumerate relevant facts starting with those of the past, it is the other way around in

Introduction. The Film, Gallipoli, Directed By Peter Weir,
Introduction The film, Gallipoli, directed by Peter Weir, depicts one of the most controversial
aspects of Australian history. The film depicts heritage myths regarding Australian culture; and
Australia s size in the world at large. Weir s Gallipoli is taken from an Australian perspective and
presents a compressed narrative of the events that shaped Australian society during World War I
.
The 20th Century saw the emergence of cinematography as a primary medium. One aspect of
cinematography that is popular with audiences is war movies; movies that depict key battles that
helped to shape the countries involved . Gallipoli is not a war movie or even an anti war movie; it

The communication mishap required Frank to run from the trenches to the base camp on the
beach. Frank had to beg the British commander to stop the raid; however even though the
commander conceded to canceling the raid, Frank didn t have enough time to get back to the
trenches to relay the information to Major Barton. Frank arrived too late and Archy was killed in
the raid. The victimology of Australia in regards to World War I, as well as the destruction and
assimilation of the indigenous people into Britain society; showcases the negative relationship
Britain has with Australia. This scene in particular paints an accurate picture of the relationship
between the Australians and the British during, and after World War I. As stated before, Archy is
depicted by Weir as the old Australia therefore that makes Frank the new Australia .
The second character that Weir introduces is Frank (played by Mel Gibson). It is implied that
Frank is Irish, with a long standing distrust of the British due to the fact that the British killed his
father in a battle in Dublin. Franks doesn t want to join the war, simply because he doesn t want
to help the British. He is depicted as a city slicker, that doesn t possess the qualities needed in
combat. In one scene, it shows that Frank doesn t even know how to ride a horse; which was a
critical aspect of the Western Australian Light

However, it is only temporary. There are two works that follow Charlie s story, the movie, Charly,

unnecessary ways. Despite the clear fact that many of the details of the two piece differ, the
essential themes of the works are highly analogous. One of the main themes in both the film and

Anthrophysiology Of Stress
Stress is what happens when the body responds to a threat. When the brain feels that the body is
being threatened or the brain feels pressure the brain causes the nervous system to release stress
hormones and awakens or alarms the body to create stress. Stress can also be explained as when
you are mentally or emotionally strained or tired from difficult or very demanding tasks.
Another way to define stress is when you feel as though something or someone is making you
feel like everything is very hard to overcome. Stress can create various threats such as raising
blood pressure, can cause stomach aches, shut down the immune system or slow it down, and it
can also put you in more risk or either having a stroke or a heart attack in a later period... Show

Once the body feels as though you are being approached with a challenging situation the adrenal
gland produces this hormone which then goes to the adrenal cortex and then that causes your brain
to be notified of this act of stress and causes your brain to react to it, this process with the adrenal
gland can react in just seconds. The adrenal glands are located in the area where the kidneys are
they are actually connected and after the Adrenal glands there is the adrenal cortex which is what
makes the signal go to your brain to make you feel stressed.
Adrenaline
Adrenaline is a hormone that is created in the adrenal glands especially in a condition of stress,
increasing the rate of the blood s circulation, breathing and is preparing the body or the bodies
muscle for exertion (exertion also known as preparing for a stressful or a very difficult decision
or a difficult task). Adrenaline may be also explained as an exhilarating feeling when you feel as
though you are at the edge often felt when either one is very happy, or a very stressed unreal
feeling when you are very tensed by a certain scenario.

Bp ( British Petroleum )
BP (British Petroleum) was founded well over a century ago by William D Arcy who invested
his savings in the hunt for oil in the Middle East. After several years of drilling, D Arcy s money
and patience were about to run out, when oil was found about 1,200 feet down. This changed
the outlook for the company and D Arcy became a rich man (Thorne, p. 587 2014). Because of
the difficulty in trying to drill for oil in this undeveloped land, by 1914 BP was almost bankrupt
again. The company had oil, but no one to sell to. Because of the insistence of Winston
Churchill, the oil would be used by the British Navy, which stared the debate over the
repercussions of involving politics in the oil industry. This debate has continued through present
day wars (Thorne, p. 587 2014). The twenty first century saw a tremendous growth in the oil
industry, as well as a power shift in the Middle East. This directly affected BP because the import
taxes of oil were raised by Libyan leader Miammar al Gaddafi and spread to oil rich Middle East
countries. Because of this, BP s survival was contingent on finding other places to dig for oil.
The Forties Field off the coast of Scotland and Prudhoe Bay Alaska were tapped, and became BP
s best sites. It was a challenge for their engineers because transportation of the oil became a
problem. Because of this we saw the development of the largest deepwater pipeline ever
constructed. BP did extensive test to assure the public that this new pipeline

Skinner and his colleagues (Gass Larry, 2008), learning or a change of behaviour on the part of the
learner, is brought about by a process known as operant conditioning which is the result of repeated
training. Operant means voluntary behaviour which is the result of learner s own free will and is
not forced by any outsider or thing (Ortega, 2009). The learner will demonstrate the new behaviour
first as a response to a system of a reward or punishment, and finally it will become an automatic
response. Behaviourists believe that learning a language is no different from learning anything else.
It becomes a habit by the stimulus response reinforcement repetition process (Cook, 2001). The
behaviourists also claim that we learn by imitation and by association (Lightbown Spada, 2006).
However, psycholinguists argue that imitation is not enough because it is not only the mechanical
repetition but also natural exposure that children acquire language (Cook, 2001). Therefore, from
the behaviourist approach, language acquisition can be seen as a stimulus response process.
Children learn language by immitation and analogy. The roles of imitation, repetition,
reinforcement, and motivation are essential in learning the language. The First Language
Acquisition is thus the result of nature which based on practicing. Nativist or Innateness

Loneliness And Isolation In The Painted Door By Sinclair Ross
The feeling of not belonging, of being unwanted, or being judge is a very common thing that
occurs too many individuals. The feelings of isolation and alienation can be frustrating,
dangerous and eventually push a character to it their extremes. In the short story The Painted
Door by Sinclair Ross, the main character Ann feels alone and isolated for many reasons. From
the beginning of the story the theme of loneliness and alienation occurs almost immediately.
Ann is not pleased with her life, she feels not only isolation emotionally but physically. She and
her husband John live in the middle of nowhere, far away from company and populated
settlements. The remote surrounding in which they live creates a feeling of extreme isolation,
especially after previously living in a city, Even the distant farmsteads she could see served only to
intensify a sense of isolation( Ross 9). John is a simple farmer who thinks the only way he can

John does not pay enough attention to Ann, and therefore creates a weak relationship, I know. It s
just that sometimes when you re away I get lonely (Ross 14). The lack of communication
between Ann and John, and not expressing their feelings to one another is the main reason that
Ann feels this emptiness inside her, and in a way alienate herself as well as John alienates her.
This causes for Ann to sleep with Steven, and John witnessing what happen between with Ann and
Steve, which ends with John dieing in the storm that was occurring outside .During the short story
the reader clearly sees that Ann feels abandoned by John, She began to think about it now.
Thoughts that outstripped her words, that left her alone again with herself and the ever lurking
silence (Ross 30). and as the reader I can connect to the character. I remember when I first got here
from Mexico. I was five years old, and I was barely beginning

Analyse Interpersonal Communication
Communication is a vital part of having a successful workplace. More often than not, problems in
the workplace are caused by miscommunication, or a lack of communication. The most common
form of communication used in the workplace, especially a small family business, is interpersonal
communication. But what is interpersonal communication? Communication, as defined by the
Australian concise oxford dictionary, 6th edition, is The act of imparting, esp. news (p. 280). While
interpersonal is defined as Occurring between persons, esp. reciprocally (p. 738). Therefore,
interpersonal communication can be used to describe the way we communicate in small groups. To

In her TEDx talk, 10 ways to have a better conversation, Celeste Headlee (2015), says that the
most important part of a conversation is being able to listen. If you cannot listen, there is no
way for you to understand what the other person is trying to convey with their words. In a small
family business, listening is an essential skill for every member of the team to have. Unlike a big
company, such as McDonalds, in a family business everyone has the same level of seniority. There
are no clear roles, this means that interpersonal communication, listening in particular, is an even
more important consideration in a small family business. If the family and their employees cannot
communicate well there would not a business to manage for much longer. A family business,
especially one just hanging on, could potentially go out of business... Another rule that Headlee
(2015) says will lead to a better conversation is if you do not know, say that you do not know.

George Alexander Louis Of England
The most recent George was born Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge on July 22,
2013 to Prince William of Wales and Duchess Catherine of Cambridge. His birth placed him third
in line to the throne behind his father, Prince William, and grandfather, Prince Charles . Prince
George joined a royal family tree shaken by Georges, and the new prince s name called back to
the Hanoverian times when four Georges headed the throne successively. This period was one
where men of foreign descent reigned over Britain and, oddly enough, ushered in one of the
greatest eras of British unity and dominance . The Georges maintained the throne from 1714 to
1830; although some were unorthodox and rude and others stubbornly absolutist, their reign is
revered today as distinguished enough so that the current prince and duchess imparted the name
upon their first born son. An act passed during Queen Anne s reign, the 1701 Act of Succession,
prohibited Catholics from the throne. The next Protestant heir to the throne, George, Elector of
Hanover, was 52nd in line. The German heir found little celebrity in Britain, except amongst
London s Hanover Square residents in the West End who celebrated the new king s arrival.
Because of his inability to speak English, mainly due to his unwillingness to learn the language,

methods of balance called disavowal of responsibility, judgment of condemners, appeal to higher
loyalties, foreswearing of harm, and refusal of casualty. These help concoct rationalization or
contend that there are special conditions that exist, which make them confer freak conduct. A
standout amongst the regularly balances utilized by miscreants was dissent of responsibility ,
which includes the wrongdoer to pronounce that they can t be considered responsible because of
conditions and outside powers made them must choose the option to submit the degenerate

The Swing By Jean-Honore Fragonard Essay
The eighteenth century, rococo era, remained a light hearted time being pre revolutionary.
Transpired a period that the postmodern world would attempt to emulate. After Louis XIV died,
things became more excessive. Sculpture became more delicately carved while architecture
metamorphose a more decorative and successful. Paintings of the aristocracy in pastel colors,
showing themes of fantasy, pleasure, and sensuality as they were more commonly asked for.
Women s textile dresses were excessive, to say the least. Rooms were smaller to make everything
else look more extreme. The Swing by Jean Honore Fragonard has been described as the
embodiment of the Rococoera paintings. Born in Grasse of the French Riviera, 1732, Fragonard,

In reality, it is a garden. The fact that it is overgrown and energetic only gives it more of a sexual

What Is The Poem Hunting Snake And Pike
Explore the ways in which the poem Hunting Snake and Pike explore the complex representation of
each animal
In the poems Hunting Snake by Judith Wright and Pike by Ted Hughes, both the poets explore the
ideas of fear and unfamiliar encounters with predators in each of their own domains. Snakes are
animals that place fear into many people although the poem Hunting Snake explores the beauty and
admiration of an apex predator of the bush. Although a Pike is a fish, Ted Hughes still fears the
predator. Using descriptive words to detail the predator, horrifying imagery and extended
metaphors he describes a fearful creature. In this essay I will answer and explore the ways that
these poems demonstrate a complex representation of two respected ... Show more content on

Hughes goes into depth with detail to create a scary image that makes us feel threatened and wary
of this predator. He achieves this by using the quotes killers from the egg and detailed examples of
cannibalism. This message is communicated through the behavior of the fish. It also goes into detail
about how the fish stays top of the food chain. Hughes expresses these points using personification,
horrifying imagery, similes and repetition to emphasis key strong words Hughes explanations are
due to his past experiences, situations he has found himself in and his passion for fishing.
In conclusion, I believe that I have expressed and explored the complex representations of each
animal and that I have supported my arguments that Hunting Snake is a poem about Indigenous
Australians rights and societies fear of over commitment and that Pike represents peoples fear of the
unknown and the survival of the fittest.

John Steinbeck Accomplishments
John Emst Steinbeck was bom on Febmary 27, 1902, in Salinas,
Califomia. The time and place of his birth are important because
Steinbeck matured as an artist in his early thirties and during the darkest days of the Depression,
and his most important fictions are set in his beloved Salinas Valley. In one sense, Steinbeck s
location in time and place may have made him a particularly American artist. Bom just after the
closing of the frontier, Steinbeck grew up with a fmstrated modem

Like his first divorce, this one was bitter and expensive. In the same year, his mentor,
Ed Ricketts, was killed in a car accident. Steinbeck traveled extensively, devofing himself to film
and nonfiction projects. In 1950, he married Elaine Scott, establishing a supportive relationship that
allowed him to finish his epic Salinas Valley novel East of Eden.
Steinbeck tried again and again to write his way back to the artistic success of his earlier years,
notably in The Wayward Bus, but his commercial success kept getting in the way. East of Eden,
his major postwar novel, was an attempt at another Califomia epic to match the grandeur of The
Grapes of Wrath. Although the book was a blockbuster best seller, it was an artistic and critical
failure. Steinbeck himself seemed to recognize his own decline, and in his last years he virtually
abandoned ficfion for joumalism.
Of his last novels, only The Winter of Our Discontent transcends mere entertainment, and it does
not have the literary stmcture necessary to support its serious themes. Despite the popularity of

During this time period, a habit can be added or subtracted from one s lifestyle (Cutts, 2011). I
am pleased to announce that the habit of random acts of kindness is one that I now possess.
After doing RAK s for an experiment, I began to notice that these RAK s were becoming more
of a natural routine, not something that I was purposely doing for data. With this becoming a
habit, I have helped create a positive atmosphere at Galion s track and field. For instance, on
April 4, I was cheering on Marisa as she high jumped. I told her encouraging words when she did
not jump to her satisfaction. She repeated my actions towards her by doing the same thing to
other high jumpers. The people on the track team were beginning to develop a sense of natural
optimism passed around by others, unconsciously. By performing these RAK s, I feel that I have
initiated social change. Gilmore (2007), states that there is untapped potential in even the smallest
good deed and it can have a multiplier effect strong enough to change the world (p.133). This
quote of hers is true within the experiment that I have been practicing. The small RAK s I have
been doing for my fellow track members are being passed on to others around the track and field. If
these students continue to do so, we can eliminate the negativity, thus making the world a better

The, By Francisco Cantu And Sad Truth Of Life
A large portion of transitioning into adulthood is the realization, the biggest and most life altering

disappointing and sad truth of life is a pivotal point in someone s life, having the ability to make or

his best for all the immigrants that needed some help. He explains it to his mother as a need to
go, to grow as a person and learn how to face situations of danger as well as how to understand
the region and landscape better. He would also be using all the information and experience that
he had available to him. (Cantu 57) He later discusses how he can hardly deal with all the dark
things that he is experiencing realizing it was not at all as he expected. He mentions losing sleep,
having nightmares, as well as struggling with thoughts of how his job is not as fulfilling as he
needed or expected. He later goes on to state that he had accepted his role in the situation, as
someone who could do his best to protect and provide support to these immigrants in such a trying
and difficult time in their life and hoping to make an impact.
Life is constantly changing and transforming as we age, learn and experience more, Cantu s essay

large message. Life is constantly in a state of adjustment as more information is gathered and used

Juliet Important Quotes
Significant quotes:
She hath not seen the change of fourteen years
Why this is important: This is exaggerating the fact that Juliet is very young and inexperienced.
This shows that their powerful and passionate love might be a little dramatic and just the fact it is
their first love and maybe they aren t mature enough for this level of love yet.
My only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious
birth of love it is to me, That I must love a loathed enemy.
Why this is important: This is important because it shows the whole tragedy and irony of this
whole story. Of course her first love has to be with her enemy family. And of course they must be
so deeply in love.
Figurative language:
1.Metaphor: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Metaphor: In a house of tears. This is comparing to a house full of tears after Tybalt has died,
because the family took it incredibly hard. Why this is important: For one, they have no idea that
Juliet will be pronounced as dead and then it really will be a house of tears. For another, it shows
Paris s character and the fact he cares very little for Juliet and her families pain after this tragedy.
2.Verbal Irony: I will confess to you that I love him. Juliet does not at all mean these words
because she loves Romeo, not Paris. Why this is important: This affects the whole play because
she is lying to her mother so she can sneakily fake her own death and run away with Romeo. She is
also giving up loyalty to her family for her love.
3.Metaphor: Compass of my wits. This is comparing his wits to that of a compass, with many
directions, saying he has great wit. Why it is important: Again, it shows that Paris is not at all
right for Juliet because he is significantly full of himself and kind of a jerk. Yet, they would rather
she be with him than a Montague who treats her with love and respect.
4.Personification: This bloody knife shall play the umpire. bringing the knife to life, saying it calls
the shots instead of its wielder. Why this is important: Not taking responsibility for his own

History and Analysis of Mormonism in America Essay
History and Analysis of Mormonism in America
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was officially organized by Joseph Smith in
Western New York on April 6, 1830, and by 1978, spread to more than seventy nations. One
uniqueness of the Mormon religion is that it was the first church to have begun in the United
States.
Following the revivals of the 1800 s, religion entered a temporary decline in Western New York,
reawakened in 1807 1808, then declined again because of the military excitement The Chnts of
1812.
After this time, a new wave of revivalism began, in liberal churches such as the Unitarians and to
conservative churches such as the Congregationalists. Not surprisingly, as all of these churches

He went into the woods to pray and in the words of Joseph Smith, I saw a pillar of light over my
head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me . . . when
the light rested upon me I saw two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description,
standing above me in the air. One of them spoke unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to
the other, This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him. To Joseph this meant that he was forgiven of his sins
and was not to join any of the organized churches.
For the Mormons the visit of an angel to Joseph Smith during the night of September 21, 1823,
signaled the documentary foundation of Mormonism. A statue representing the angel stands atop
the Salt Lake Temple. In one hand the figure holds a trumpet: in the other are clasped plates
symbolic of the Book of Mormon, the ancient religious record whose existence Smith claimed was
revealed to him in 1823.
Shortly after his first vision Joseph Smith was concerned with his lack of spirituality. He was
praying on Sept. 21 when he was rewarded with the appearance of an angelic being who said his
name was Moroni. It was Moroni who told Joseph Smith where the gold leaves or plates were
located. Smith tried to keep this secret, however, word got out. And today, this religion is practiced
by millions in the United States.

The views of young women by themselves and by their parents were also changing. Your
daughter isn t living on the moon, she s here in Brumley too. This view was growing in the
lower classes as the women of Britain went out to work and started wanting equal rights and the

the end she actually started thinking like a woman. Throughout though the noble people of
Britain still looked at their children of 20+ as adolescents, denying them the right to make a
point to a family discussion, merely discarding it with a comment such as, Just let me finish,

Disagreements and angry remarks spring up. Don t talk to me like that. Your trouble is you ve

Why Attend Christendom
Why Do I Want to Attend Christendom?
Christendom College offers many compelling reasons that have increased my desire to attend this
great school. Some of the things that I love about my high school are found at Christendom, such
as its challenging, Classical curriculum. I simply loved the classes I was able to attend at the
Summer Program and found that I felt at home in those lectures, which were deeply rooted in our
Catholic faith. The lectures helped us examine their relevance in our own lives and encouraged us
to always seek the truth. I observed that this inspired the whole class to consider the situations and
messages in the themes we discuss in class, such as the value of friendship or how history shapes
our identity.
In addition to reflecting on the Classical curriculum, another compelling reason for attending your
school involves the way Christendom will allow me to bring my humble desire to sing and add it
to the immense talents and contributions of many others and participate in the school choir.

Comparing Ambiguity In Proof And Susan Glaspell s Tri
Through the struggles of everyday life, everyone attempts to establish a certain sense of order.
Since the dawn of humanity, the species has battled against the perpetual chaos that is nature itself.
Men especially, given history s mostly patriarchal structure, have strived for rule and order. Both
David Auburn s Proof, and Susan Glaspell s Trifles deal with certain women who go beyond what
is commonly known, beyond the predictable, and discover what most would not have even
considered while leaving the truth open ended. In Proof, there is an existing hierarchy of brilliant
mathematical minds, and Catherine is believed to have dissented from the known structure. Trifles

must be due to the fact that she has learned a lot from the years she spent living with her father,

father s eventual madness and dementia. Everything from her coping of loss to her sister Claire
s patronizing attitude causes her to follow logical steps to the seemingly illogical conclusion of
her genius coming hand in hand with insanity. The abstract process is explored in an analysis of
the play: In life, if not in math, the axiomatic method does not provide a good tool for predicting
the future. Personality traits or genes are not axioms pointing to some inescapable conclusion at
best, they re mental ticklers, worriers, and warnings. Nevertheless, we see Catherine trying to

What Is The Use Of Symbolism In Beginning Again, By Franz...
In his poem, Beginning Again, Franz Wright uses acute forms of symbolism to convey a
collective human desire to become better. It is common to have experiences in life where there
is a desire, after self realization, for a new start as a better person. In fantasy, an improved
version of one s self would not be plagued with issues, rather they are idealized as being carefree
and composed. The idea of future improvement, in combination with the macabre chaos caused by
Wright s use of symbolism, intensify the relatability of the poem. From the poem s first line, If I
could stop talking, completely cease talking for a year, I might begin to get well, it is evident that
the narrator has had past trouble with his mouth. This reiterates

Parenting Styles and Child Rearing
Parenting style is very important in child rearing and can have consequences in the way that a child
develops and can have long term effects on children and their personality later in life. Diana
Baumrind developed her ideas of parenting styles and their effects by studying 100 preschool
children and their parents. Although most of the subjects of her study were Californian middle
class European Americans, thus not offering much diversity in her study, the results were very
persuasive and interesting. Baumrind found that parents varied on four dimensions: expression of
warmth, strength of discipline, communication, and expectation of maturity. Using these
dimensions as the basis Baumrind developed three main classifications of parenting... Show more

Finally there is a fourth parenting style which isn t grouped with the other three this is the
neglectful/uninvolved parenting style which is described as an indifferent approach towards
parenting where the parent isn t aware of the child s life, the parent is just uninvolved and doesn
t care to punish or praise the child. There are implications depending on the type of parenting
style that was used on the child. If a child grew up with authoritarian parents for example would
grow up to be well behaved, obedient but unhappy, likely depressed, and would also likely leave
home before the age of 20. Children that grow up with permissive parents would grow up to be
dependent on parents living at home into adulthood, would lack emotional control, self control and
would be unhappy as adults. Finally the child that grows up with authoritative parents, it seems
would grow up to be the best adjusted out of the three styles. A child with authoritative parents
would be well adjusted, happy, generous, and successful. They are also well regarded by others
especially in western individualistic societies. Now the text does warn that the parenting style
which ends up working the best for each child should be dependent on various factors such as the
child s temperament, these are after all generalizations. Parenting styles and the consequences of
parenting styles is very interesting because it can help parents ensure that their child grows up to be
well adjusted. If parents

Leadership may be considered as the process (act) of influencing the activities of an organized
group in its efforts toward goal setting and goal achievement. (Stogdill, 1950: 3)
Leaders set a direction for us all by giving a vision .leaders inspire and encourage. Without
leaderships a group of individuals would degenerates into argument and conflict, because we see
things in different ways and lean towards different solutions. Leadership helps to point us in the
same direction and harness our efforts jointly. (Mills, 2005)

Taking Ireland For The Irish Essay
Another cause common to both groups of nationalists was getting Ireland for the Irish , as O
Connell said during his efforts for Repeal, or ensuring that the Irish people had control of their own
affairs. This might not seem like a major problem today, but at that point, Ireland was being
governed from another country that many felt didn t have their best interests at heart. William
Ewart Gladstone, the British Prime Minister in 1886, brought up this issue when introducing the
first Home Rule bill to the House of Commons. Because the law came to Irelandwith a foreign
aspect, and in a foreign garb , it didn t feel to the people to be truly Irish law or coming from
their needs. Because of this, even legislation with good intentions were met with distrust and
displeasure. He argued that sometimes it wasn t enough that the laws were good; they needed to
come from the right source as well. There were, however, points to be left to the Crown, including
imperial affairs, the armed forces, and foreign relations. They also shouldn t pass a law favoring
one religion over another. The Home Rule Conference agreed on these points, asking only for
control over domestic affairs to be placed in the hands of an Irish Parliament. They also agreed in
the belief that increasing Irish autonomy would strengthen and honor the Crown rather than
weakening or degrading it.
An Irish government was also a goal of the revolutionary nationalists, though they supported a

The Wrongful Convictions Of Innocent Men And Women
We hear in the news about police misconduct, use of excessive force, embezzlement, but one thing I
found while researching what I should write this paper on is the Wrongful convictions of innocent
men and women, that spend years in prison being innocent, and there is nothing that gets done till it
s too late. Some wrongful convictions are honest mistakes, but many times law enforcement and
prosecutors lose sight of the obligation of ensuring truth and justice, and are focused on their
convictionrates. As with any job, they are honest people and ones that just don t care and are
corrupt, this exists in the criminal justice system. One way to prove someone is innocent now is
through DNA testing, but even at all levels of a criminal investigation there could be misconduct or
mishandling of evidence, which then causes the evidence to become compromised.
One thing I notice is a lot of the misconduct is by the arresting officers or detectives that are
investigating the crime. The ways an office can have misconduct that could lead to false convictions,
include suggestions when conducting interviews, coercing false confessions, lying to jurors about
observations, failing to turn over evidence. Common forms of misconduct by a prosecutor can
include, withhold evidence from defense, mishandling, mistreating or destroying evidence,
allowing witnesses that they know are not truthful to testify, Pressing Witnesses of the defense to
not testify, relying on fraudulent forensic experts.

Local Self Government
Introduction
Local government institutions have always existed in India in one form or another since ancient
times. The present form of urban local government owes its genesis to the British rule. The
initiation began with Samuel Laing, member of the Viceroy s Council, in the Budget Speech
(1861 62) proposing that local services should be based on local resources. Lord Mayo s
Resolution of 1870 introduced the concept of elected representatives in the municipalities. Lord

The government had a direct link with the peasants instead of the feudatories. The Chola kings
had adopted the Yuvaraja during king`s rule. The orders of the kings were written and copies of it

Development of local self government was one of the most striking features of administration of
the Chola dynasty. The villages were given autonomy despite centralised system of governance.
The Chola officials acted as advisors to village assemblies and there was no interference in daily
administration. Thus there was continuity in village administration despite political upheavals.
The general assembly was classified into tax paying villagers, Brahmins and traders. The central
government officers examined accounts and supervised the work of the tax paying villagers. The
village assemblies received gifts from rich men or from king for developmental activities. The
feudatories were unable to impede in the village management. Their job was very clerical in the
sense it was a mere collection of taxes and passing the share to the King.

What Is The Decline Of Newspaper In The 1930 s
The early 1900 s could be called the consolidation era as technological changes and competition
for advertising dollars increased the competitive drive for circulation numbers. In response to
these changes, many newspaper chains grew as smaller newspapers were gobbled up and
absorbed into the chains or became obsolete. Complementing the glitz of the roaring twenties, a
new form of journalism emerged that appealed to a different type of reader with its illustrious
smaller size. But, as economic conditions worsened into the 1930 s, circulation increased while
revenues did not. This is mostly due to advertisingdollars being split between radio and television
as both gained in popularity. By 1945, newspapers had declined to their lowest and continued to
drop further alongside continued consolidation efforts into the 1970 s. While daily circulation
declined, chains and printing expenses grew. The closer we got to the turn of the century and the
digital age, readership dropped significantly as young readers pursued other options for news

Pamela Meyer Liar
Pamela Meyer in her speech identify different concept of communication through which one can
identify a liar. The speaker attributes speech, body language, confidences and other distinctive
features that are used to identify a liar. She attributes day to day activities as the environments at
which liars may exist. The speaker s ideas are based on assumptions and personal components. The
ideas highlighted by the speaker could be applicable to some instances but may fail to reflect the
truthof the matter. There is need to analyze this concept with respect to various concepts. The
speaker effectively proofs her point but fails to acknowledge exceptions within her speech. The
essay will focus on the main points highlighted by the author and use them to identify the
authenticity of the speech. Perceptions and personal opinions could differ from the reality. The
manner in which a person presents his or her points could be either persuasive or misleading. In
Meyer s speech, she emphasizes on verbal language. As a means of identifying when one is lying,
the speaker acknowledges the difference displayed in speech. However, this... Show more content

this instance, the speaker provides elements of truth. A person interacting with other parties in this

Freedom To Diego Freedom Quotes
Freedom to Diego is his old life, the life out of jail. Freedom to me is being able to do what I
want when I want, get to dress how I want, say what I want, be who I want, the list goes on.
Diego isn t free, I am. Diego wants to be free, but I already am. Freedom is a right, yet Diego,
and thousands and thousands of people around the world don t. But I do. In my opinion,
freedom is a really important part of the book, as I believe Diego takes the dangerous job to be
able to have freedom from his disapproving mother, from his responsibilities and eventually
prison. So this is why I think Diego s taxi jobs are important, because they give him freedom for
short amounts of time, the posters he saw are important, because he believes there is freedom
out there, and that s his drive. And it s also why I think Diego s old life is important, because it s
the freedom he wants to get back to, after having it taken away. If he tried hard, he could still
imagine the feel of the wind, cool and soft as it came down from the mountains. The green of the

from their small stone house were their coca bushes, whose little green leaves they chewed when
food ran low, and sold for money for clothes and Diego s school books. ... Diego and his parents

The Battle Of The War Forever
The date is July 6, 1944. A young Solider in his early 20 s armed with a pair of wire cutters, a
rifle, and explosives makes his way through Omaha Beach, through countless obstacles
(Kennedy, 2012). This young Solider has a very important job. Behind him are thousands of
infantrymen, desperately fighting their way up a hill; it is up to him to clear the way.
However, In front of him are rows of mines, hedgehogs, wire obstacles, and barricades. He must
complete these tasks all while receiving heavy fire. You see he is no ordinary Soldier, he is a
Combat Engineer, and what he does here today will change the tides of the war forever
(Kennedy, 2012). This engineer is well trained and comes from a long line of warriors who have
paved the way for him, laying down the groundwork for what he must accomplish here today.
The Combat Engineers can trace their lineage back to the 16th of June 1775. The first Chief
Engineer was Colonel Richard Gridley, who was assigned by General George Washington
(usace.army.mil, n.d.). In 1779 congress would establish the first official Corp of Engineers. The
Corps of Engineers first task was to build fortifications near Boston at Bunker Hill to reinforce the
camp. At the time the Corps of Engineers was mostly composed of French subjects who had been
hired by General Washington from the service of Louis XVI (usace.army.mil, n.d.). Combat
Engineers have fought in every altercation that America has been involved in. From the Battle of
Yorktown,

Senior Show Research Paper
The Senior Show is a relatively new concept at Pinecrest High School, where the seniors, and
only seniors, who are part of the theater department produce, direct, cast, and star in a single play
completely by themselves. This year the seniors chose to work on a play called Almost, Maine,
by John Cariani. The show was performed on May 12, beginning at 7:00 pm. It s a scene based
show that shows love in different lights by using the fictional town of Almost, Maine, said Hannah
Bankos. Almost was produced by Britton Phipps and directed by Bankos and Erik Bensen. Phipps
raised the money, starting with an initial budget of $250 and raising it to a final $1,100. A part of
the additional money came from the fundraiser that the seniors... Show more content on

The event lasted two hours beginning at 7:00 pm. All students were invited, but only a handful
of students showed up, all of them somehow involved in theater. Participants were allowed to
sign up to sing any song alone or in a group. Songs that were well known in pop culture included,
Hakuna Matata from the Lion King, Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice, and We Are Never Ever
Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift. The night ended with a rendition of Don t Stop
Believing where everybody sang. Three weeks after the Karaoke Night was the night of the
Senior Show. The show consisted of two acts with a total of nine scenes. These nine scenes were
done with a total of 12 actors, and three students who worked behind the scenes. The 12 actors
had additional behind the scenes rolls, and six had more than one role to play in the show. These
six included Hannah Browning and Daniel Herman. It was so exciting. I mean, it really gave me
an opportunity to come out of my shell because I ve never played that many characters before, and
it was so much fun, said Browning. Browning played two different characters, like

Analysis of the Keurig Website
The Keurig website is a site that mainly focuses to promote their brewer products and sell them
to consumers. They also have many different products to accompany their brewing systems that
they have to offer. This website is indeed helpful and professional since it clearly promotes the
product and allows for easy navigation. It not only lets you shop for the product but also has a
section dedicated to customer service where the audience can view videos about their products.
The navigation is fairly easy to follow and the design makes it easy to read and manipulate. In
order to prove that this website is helpful and professional I will be analyzing the design, content,
usefulness, and how it s organized. When you first go to the home page it has a well developed
and effective design. The colors complement each other and the white text contrasts nicely with
the maroon, black, and mustard, making it easy to read and user friendly. The main navigation
menu is at the top right after their logo and company name. When you go the store option they
have their three main brewing systems and the names of them along with visuals of each system
and products that you can choose for each system. If you already know what brewing system you
are looking for you can also just go to the brewing system tab instead of the store one and find
each separate system listed. The next tab is the beverages tab

Racism And The Gay Community
In a time when countless citizens of the United State were homophobic, how were Blackmun
and Stevens, both of which were thought to be conservatives, open to the claims of the gay
community? My answer to this question before I read a single word assigned, was easy they
must have known someone who was gay. I believe it is simple to be against something that you
don t understand anything about. It is pompous to say that homosexuals are immoral, perverted,
disgusting sinners when you have never knowingly interacted with a homosexual. However,
becoming acquainted with someone will likely change your mind; especially if it is someone
you would consider a friend. Being able to put a face and an emotion to discrimination often
times make the discrimination appalling. The Justices involved in this case ruled the way they
did individually because of their personal relationships, or lack thereof, with gay people. Come
to find out, I was right regarding Blackmun. Justice Blackmun knew gay couples: he was able to
put a face and an emotion to the discrimination (Eskridge 165). I was unable to find out if Justice
Stevens knew any gay couples, but I would still contend he probably did. However, both men had
other reasons to dissent. Both Blackmun and Stevens believed in privacy laws and believed your
home was a place the government could not interfere. Blackmun believed White was challenging
the ongoing validity of Roe, a precedent that Blackmun guarded with the ferocity of a tigress

When looking for someone it is very simple to search for them as long as you know their real
name. It tells you what state they live in; it shows mutual friends which marks the search level

even having the phone number available which can be a little creepy, but their just making it
easier easier to find or get in touch with someone as possible. Then there s social dating sites this
too can also be a plus but also a con at the same time. For the most part it could be very helpful
and interesting. You get to search the men and women who are single on the site. It provides the
person whose seeking love with almost half of all the information they need to meet up to their
standards. Such as their name, birthdate, what they like or don t like, what hobbies they enjoy,

these dating sites too mostly with the men. Some guys on the site can turn out to just be plain
rude or maybe even psycho paths. It s never safe to judge a book by its cover that s why when
using some of the dating s sites its best to go on the first couple dates in a public place until fully

Urban Growth Management and Politics
Urban Growth Management and Politics
Being a urban planner is an exciting career field to work in. There are countless opportunities to
create innovative ideas that can change a struggling city into a beautiful and exciting place for
residents and tourist. However, when it comes to managing urban growth, planning becomes a more
complicated process. Part of the problem is the difficulty in balancing the task of growth
management and politics. Planners must find sensible ways to manage growth while being mindful
of the political aspects that interfere with planning.
Growth management is an important part of urban planning. As defined by John M. Levy, author of

Many of the proponents for growth management are supportive of the legislation because they
believe in the safe management of their land and resources.
However, there are many not supportive of the legislation of growth management for various
reasons including government control. As quoted in the attitudes toward growth management
publication, the system has also been criticized for placing the state in the role of a command and
control entity, rather than the role of a facilitator and advisor to localities on planning issues
(Connerly, 2004). While there remains to be a great number of supporters for growth management,
many Florida residents are not in support of government intervention. The citizen s stance against
too much government control brings focus on the political aspect of urban planning and growth
management.
There are many problems that can arise with an the unmanaged growth of within communities
across the world. According to the works of , Robert F. Durant, Larry W. Thomas, and Don Hayes,
authors of, The Politics of Growth Management Reform in the States: A Comparative Analysis,
Urban Sprawl can be a burden to communities. For example, The quality of life in numerous states
today suffers appreciably from burgeoning populations, unbridled development, and unmanaged
settlement patterns (Robert F. Durant, 1993).

The Pros And Cons Of Froth Surf Board Spaces
At the center of each surfboard is some kind of froth, that is referred to in the business as a clear.
Froth surf board spaces will decide numerous things around a surf board, including its last shape,

Why the enormous reach? All things considered, it is truly imperative that the shaper select a

The Organizational Structure And Performance
Operant conditioning
Learning occurs from a consequence of the behavior leading to operant conditioning. The major
consideration is in influence of workers behavior through reinforcing important principles.
Motivation is an internal cause of behavior that leads to satisfaction as an external cause (Walle,
2009). This is after a positive consequence following an organizational performance or production.
Positive reinforcement covers anything that increases strength and response and includes thing
such as bonuses, raises and promotion and more importantly encouragement or praise. The essence
of having reinforcement helps in measuring modifications of behavioral that takes place.
Organizations structures have an effect employee satisfaction hence production and performance.
Despite this, the relationship between the structure and performance are experienced through
different channels in work place (Edmans, Li, Zhang, 2014). This leads to evaluate through the
organizational structure to performance of the firm through satisfaction of employees. The interests
are connected to evaluation of problems of firms through the staffs and finally the performance
results. In this study, it helps in identification of current problems that firms are facing in reflection
of the structural organization. Involvement of the staffs in various aspects, introduces the

What Is The Theme Of Female Oppression In The Yellow...
One of the most interesting stories I read in high school literature class was The Yellow Wallpaper,
by Charlotte Gilman, which tells of a woman suffering from post partum depression who is kept
essentially prisoner in her own home by her dominating husband. Overtime, the woman begins to
see figures and shapes in the walls, which later transform into another womantrapped behind the
wallpaper. She vehemently believes in this hallucination to the point where she rips up the walls to
allow the trapped woman to escape. Although the story has deeper elements of female oppression,
the hallucinations she experiences sound incredibly similar to the prisoners cinema described in
Oliver Sacks Hallucinations. The students subjected to the sensory

  • 2. The Proteins Of Protein And Proteins 1. Janine and Mitchell were talking about carbohydrates and proteins. Proteins are large and complex molecules that play many roles in the body. Our body contains many cells that are responsible for a specific job. Proteins do most of the work in cells that are required for the structure, function, and regulation of the body s tissues and organs. In each cell there is a lot of proteins that work together like a machine to run each cell, just like the engine in a car proteins look different and they all have different tasks that allow the engine to run. Proteins are made of amino acids that are attached to one another in a long chain. Proteins are needed for mechanical support(a fibrous protein), and also needed for immune... Neurone produces the energy by cellular respiration and uses glucose as a substratum. Janine is not right because it doesn t get you mad you can be without carbohydrates but you do get really tired. 3. Janine was wrong because studies have said that there is no evidence that supports the idea that if you intake to much protein it can cause kidney damage. Proteins do not have no negative impact on kidneys. The metabolism consist of the constructive phase and the destructive phase, in which complex materials are broken down. Transformation of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in food to energy, are parts of the metabolism. 4. Calories are units by which energy is measured. Energy is the capacity to do work. The energy in food is chemical energy. The body can convert the chemical energy to mechanical, electrical, and heat energy. A calorie free energy drink would be misleading because calories is what they use to measure the units of energy needed. Calories is the energy in the energy drink and if it has no calories then it would have no energy, which would not be considered an energy drink anymore. 5. The substances that supply energy to the human body would be organic nutrients that include carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and vitamins. Pg.4 1. Obesity and overweight are about the same thing. During that time, there were many important events that helped the momentum for change in the segregation of African Americans. The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 was one of the first and most important of these events in beginning the Civil Rights Movement. The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 was the start of the Civil Rights Movement because of the large amount of African Americans involved in the event. Many people understand that the trigger for this boycott, came from Rosa Parks on December 1, 1955. The film depicts heritage myths regarding Australian culture; and Australia s size in the world at large. Weir s Gallipoli is taken from an Australian perspective and presents a compressed narrative of the events that shaped Australian society during World War I . The 20th Century saw the emergence of cinematography as a primary medium. Frank arrived too late and Archy was killed in the raid. The victimology of Australia in regards to World War I, as well as the destruction and assimilation of the indigenous people into Britain society; showcases the negative relationship Britain has with Australia. This scene in particular paints an accurate picture of the relationship between the Australians and the British during, and after World War I. As stated before, Archy is depicted by Weir as the old Australia therefore that makes Frank the new Australia . The second character that Weir introduces is Frank (played by Mel Gibson). It is implied that Frank is Irish, with a long standing distrust of the British due to the fact that the British killed his father in a battle in Dublin. Franks doesn t want to join the war, simply because he doesn t want to help the British. He is depicted as a city slicker, that doesn t possess the qualities needed in combat. Another way to define stress is when you feel as though something or someone is making you feel like everything is very hard to overcome. • 10. Bp ( British Petroleum ) BP (British Petroleum) was founded well over a century ago by William D Arcy who invested his savings in the hunt for oil in the Middle East. After several years of drilling, D Arcy s money and patience were about to run out, when oil was found about 1,200 feet down. This changed the outlook for the company and D Arcy became a rich man (Thorne, p. 587 2014). Because of the difficulty in trying to drill for oil in this undeveloped land, by 1914 BP was almost bankrupt again. The company had oil, but no one to sell to. Because of the insistence of Winston Churchill, the oil would be used by the British Navy, which stared the debate over the repercussions of involving politics in the oil industry. This debate has continued through present day wars (Thorne, p. 587 2014). The twenty first century saw a tremendous growth in the oil industry, as well as a power shift in the Middle East. This directly affected BP because the import taxes of oil were raised by Libyan leader Miammar al Gaddafi and spread to oil rich Middle East countries. Because of this, BP s survival was contingent on finding other places to dig for oil. The Forties Field off the coast of Scotland and Prudhoe Bay Alaska were tapped, and became BP s best sites. It was a challenge for their engineers because transportation of the oil became a problem. Because of this we saw the development of the largest deepwater pipeline ever constructed. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Skinner and his colleagues (Gass Larry, 2008), learning or a change of behaviour on the part of the learner, is brought about by a process known as operant conditioning which is the result of repeated training. Operant means voluntary behaviour which is the result of learner s own free will and is not forced by any outsider or thing (Ortega, 2009). The learner will demonstrate the new behaviour first as a response to a system of a reward or punishment, and finally it will become an automatic response. Behaviourists believe that learning a language is no different from learning anything else. It becomes a habit by the stimulus response reinforcement repetition process (Cook, 2001). The behaviourists also claim that we learn by imitation and by association (Lightbown Spada, 2006). However, psycholinguists argue that imitation is not enough because it is not only the mechanical repetition but also natural exposure that children acquire language (Cook, 2001). Therefore, from the behaviourist approach, language acquisition can be seen as a stimulus response process. Children learn language by immitation and analogy. The roles of imitation, repetition, reinforcement, and motivation are essential in learning the language. The First Language Acquisition is thus the result of nature which based on practicing. The feelings of isolation and alienation can be frustrating, dangerous and eventually push a character to it their extremes. In the short story The Painted Door by Sinclair Ross, the main character Ann feels alone and isolated for many reasons. From the beginning of the story the theme of loneliness and alienation occurs almost immediately. Ann is not pleased with her life, she feels not only isolation emotionally but physically. She and her husband John live in the middle of nowhere, far away from company and populated settlements. The remote surrounding in which they live creates a feeling of extreme isolation, especially after previously living in a city, Even the distant farmsteads she could see served only to intensify a sense of isolation( Ross 9). If you cannot listen, there is no way for you to understand what the other person is trying to convey with their words. In a small family business, listening is an essential skill for every member of the team to have. Unlike a big company, such as McDonalds, in a family business everyone has the same level of seniority. There are no clear roles, this means that interpersonal communication, listening in particular, is an even more important consideration in a small family business. If the family and their employees cannot communicate well there would not a business to manage for much longer. His birth placed him third in line to the throne behind his father, Prince William, and grandfather, Prince Charles . Prince George joined a royal family tree shaken by Georges, and the new prince s name called back to the Hanoverian times when four Georges headed the throne successively. This period was one where men of foreign descent reigned over Britain and, oddly enough, ushered in one of the greatest eras of British unity and dominance . The Georges maintained the throne from 1714 to 1830; although some were unorthodox and rude and others stubbornly absolutist, their reign is revered today as distinguished enough so that the current prince and duchess imparted the name upon their first born son. An act passed during Queen Anne s reign, the 1701 Act of Succession, prohibited Catholics from the throne. The next Protestant heir to the throne, George, Elector of Hanover, was 52nd in line. The German heir found little celebrity in Britain, except amongst London s Hanover Square residents in the West End who celebrated the new king s arrival. The time and place of his birth are important because Steinbeck matured as an artist in his early thirties and during the darkest days of the Depression, and his most important fictions are set in his beloved Salinas Valley. In one sense, Steinbeck s location in time and place may have made him a particularly American artist. Bom just after the closing of the frontier, Steinbeck grew up with a fmstrated modem America and witnessed the most notable failure of the American Dream with the Great Depression. Steinbeck tried again and again to write his way back to the artistic success of his earlier years, notably in The Wayward Bus, but his commercial success kept getting in the way. East of Eden, his major postwar novel, was an attempt at another Califomia epic to match the grandeur of The Grapes of Wrath. Although the book was a blockbuster best seller, it was an artistic and critical failure. Steinbeck himself seemed to recognize his own decline, and in his last years he virtually abandoned ficfion for joumalism. The purpose of this experiment was to boost the confidence of my fellow track members, in hopes of them to feel and perform better. The group of people I interacted with were mainly male and females aging between 15 and 19. The females were most likely to respond verbally by saying thank you. The males mostly gave facial expressions or did not say anything at all. After awhile, I started to notice that these RAK s were commencing a domino effect. This domino effect is supported by Durkheim s collective conscious concept. I also noticed that the peers began to perform better during track meets. During this time period, a habit can be added or subtracted from one s lifestyle (Cutts, 2011). I am pleased to announce that the habit of random acts of kindness is one that I now possess. After doing RAK s for an experiment, I began to notice that these RAK s were becoming more of a natural routine, not something that I was purposely doing for data. With this becoming a habit, I have helped create a positive atmosphere at Galion s track and field. For instance, on April 4, I was cheering on Marisa as she high jumped. I told her encouraging words when she did not jump to her satisfaction. She repeated my actions towards her by doing the same thing to other high jumpers. The people on the track team were beginning to develop a sense of natural optimism passed around by others, unconsciously. By performing these RAK s, I feel that I have initiated social change. Gilmore (2007), states that there is untapped potential in even the smallest good deed and it can have a multiplier effect strong enough to change the world (p.133). This quote of hers is true within the experiment that I have been practicing. The small RAK s I have been doing for my fellow track members are being passed on to others around the track and field. For another, it shows Paris s character and the fact he cares very little for Juliet and her families pain after this tragedy. 2.Verbal Irony: I will confess to you that I love him. Juliet does not at all mean these words because she loves Romeo, not Paris. Some of the things that I love about my high school are found at Christendom, such as its challenging, Classical curriculum. I simply loved the classes I was able to attend at the Summer Program and found that I felt at home in those lectures, which were deeply rooted in our Catholic faith. The lectures helped us examine their relevance in our own lives and encouraged us to always seek the truth. I observed that this inspired the whole class to consider the situations and messages in the themes we discuss in class, such as the value of friendship or how history shapes our identity. In fantasy, an improved version of one s self would not be plagued with issues, rather they are idealized as being carefree and composed. The idea of future improvement, in combination with the macabre chaos caused by Wright s use of symbolism, intensify the relatability of the poem. Parenting Styles and Child Rearing Parenting style is very important in child rearing and can have consequences in the way that a child develops and can have long term effects on children and their personality later in life. Diana Baumrind developed her ideas of parenting styles and their effects by studying 100 preschool children and their parents. Although most of the subjects of her study were Californian middle class European Americans, thus not offering much diversity in her study, the results were very persuasive and interesting. Finally there is a fourth parenting style which isn t grouped with the other three this is the neglectful/uninvolved parenting style which is described as an indifferent approach towards parenting where the parent isn t aware of the child s life, the parent is just uninvolved and doesn t care to punish or praise the child. There are implications depending on the type of parenting style that was used on the child. If a child grew up with authoritarian parents for example would grow up to be well behaved, obedient but unhappy, likely depressed, and would also likely leave home before the age of 20. Children that grow up with permissive parents would grow up to be dependent on parents living at home into adulthood, would lack emotional control, self control and would be unhappy as adults. Finally the child that grows up with authoritative parents, it seems would grow up to be the best adjusted out of the three styles. A child with authoritative parents would be well adjusted, happy, generous, and successful. They are also well regarded by others especially in western individualistic societies. Now the text does warn that the parenting style which ends up working the best for each child should be dependent on various factors such as the child s temperament, these are after all generalizations. This might not seem like a major problem today, but at that point, Ireland was being governed from another country that many felt didn t have their best interests at heart. William Ewart Gladstone, the British Prime Minister in 1886, brought up this issue when introducing the first Home Rule bill to the House of Commons. Because the law came to Irelandwith a foreign aspect, and in a foreign garb , it didn t feel to the people to be truly Irish law or coming from their needs. Because of this, even legislation with good intentions were met with distrust and displeasure. Some wrongful convictions are honest mistakes, but many times law enforcement and prosecutors lose sight of the obligation of ensuring truth and justice, and are focused on their convictionrates. As with any job, they are honest people and ones that just don t care and are corrupt, this exists in the criminal justice system. One way to prove someone is innocent now is through DNA testing, but even at all levels of a criminal investigation there could be misconduct or mishandling of evidence, which then causes the evidence to become compromised. One thing I notice is a lot of the misconduct is by the arresting officers or detectives that are investigating the crime. The ways an office can have misconduct that could lead to false convictions, include suggestions when conducting interviews, coercing false confessions, lying to jurors about observations, failing to turn over evidence. Common forms of misconduct by a prosecutor can include, withhold evidence from defense, mishandling, mistreating or destroying evidence, allowing witnesses that they know are not truthful to testify, Pressing Witnesses of the defense to not testify, relying on fraudulent forensic experts. ... What Is The Decline Of Newspaper In The 1930 s The early 1900 s could be called the consolidation era as technological changes and competition for advertising dollars increased the competitive drive for circulation numbers. In response to these changes, many newspaper chains grew as smaller newspapers were gobbled up and absorbed into the chains or became obsolete. Complementing the glitz of the roaring twenties, a new form of journalism emerged that appealed to a different type of reader with its illustrious smaller size. But, as economic conditions worsened into the 1930 s, circulation increased while revenues did not. This is mostly due to advertisingdollars being split between radio and television as both gained in popularity. By 1945, newspapers had declined to their lowest and continued to drop further alongside continued consolidation efforts into the 1970 s. Freedom to me is being able to do what I want when I want, get to dress how I want, say what I want, be who I want, the list goes on. Diego isn t free, I am. Diego wants to be free, but I already am. Freedom is a right, yet Diego, and thousands and thousands of people around the world don t. But I do. In my opinion, freedom is a really important part of the book, as I believe Diego takes the dangerous job to be able to have freedom from his disapproving mother, from his responsibilities and eventually prison. So this is why I think Diego s taxi jobs are important, because they give him freedom for short amounts of time, the posters he saw are important, because he believes there is freedom out there, and that s his drive. This young Solider has a very important job. Behind him are thousands of infantrymen, desperately fighting their way up a hill; it is up to him to clear the way. The Combat Engineers can trace their lineage back to the 16th of June 1775. The first Chief Engineer was Colonel Richard Gridley, who was assigned by General George Washington (usace.army.mil, n.d.). In 1779 congress would establish the first official Corp of Engineers. The Corps of Engineers first task was to build fortifications near Boston at Bunker Hill to reinforce the camp. Racism And The Gay Community In a time when countless citizens of the United State were homophobic, how were Blackmun and Stevens, both of which were thought to be conservatives, open to the claims of the gay community? My answer to this question before I read a single word assigned, was easy they must have known someone who was gay. I believe it is simple to be against something that you don t understand anything about. It is pompous to say that homosexuals are immoral, perverted, disgusting sinners when you have never knowingly interacted with a homosexual. I was unable to find out if Justice Stevens knew any gay couples, but I would still contend he probably did. However, both men had other reasons to dissent.
