Osteoporosis Is Caused By The Reduction Of Bone Density...
Osteoporosis is caused by the reduction of bone density and quality; especially in the case of the
spine, hips, and wrists. It is known as the silent epidemic , because this disease has so symptoms and
is usually not noticed until a bone fracture occurs.
Some diagnostic methods are Bone mineral density measurement and classification, Peripheral dual
energy x ray absorptiometry (pDXA), CT based absorptiometry, Quantitative computed tomography
(QCT), and Quantitative ultrasound densitometry (QUS). Patients indicated for these test are ones who
qualify for high risk.
Osteoporosis is mostly found in women that are postmenopausal and in men 50 and older.
Osteoporosis happens with age, poor diet, unhealthy lifestyle, and it can be genetically indicated.
When the body ages, bone creation is decreased, or bone degeneration is increased, or both at the
same time. Without the necessary nutrients and minerals the bones start to thin out or hollow out, and
this causes them to weaken and become fragile.
Post menopausal women and men over 50 are at the highest risk. But there are other factors to
consider. According to the clinician s guide to prevention and treatment of osteoporosis 01/2010, there
are many risk factors to consider. In regards to lifestyle factors these are common causes or
contributions to osteoporosis: Low calcium intake, high caffeine intake, alcohol (3 or more drinks/per
day)smoking ( active or passive) vitamin D insufficiency, high salt intake, inadequate

Relationship Between Mother And Daughter
The relationship between a mother and daughter A mother and a daughter can have an unimaginable
bond or they can act like they barely like one another. A mother should always love, comfort, and
support their child. A daughter should obey, listen, and respect their parent. Two Kinds was written by
Amy Tan which is a short story focusing on the negative relationship of a mother and daughter. Suyan
Woo wanted her daughter to be able to excel in America. The mother wanted to turn her daughter Jing
Mei into a child prodigy. According to Tan, My mother believed you could be anything you wanted to
be in America (543). Jing Mei starts to refuse doing what her mother tells her. This causes conflict in
their relationship and neither of them wants to admit that they have done anything wrong. Suyan Woo
and Jing Mei have a negative relationship based on the mother s actions; this unhealthy connection
can be seen through failed communication, excessive control, and lack of respect. Suyan and Jing Mei
have a negative relationship based on the way they communicate with one another. Both of them come
from different backgrounds and have been influenced by different cultures. Since Jing Mei came from
a different background, culture, and environment the mother and daughter have had a difficult
relationship. They do not know how to express their feelings and they both end up getting angry with
one another. For example, when Jing Mei stated Why don t you like me the

Cortical Atrophy Hypothesis
What diagnosis has been given to the individual? The client, Valerie, has been diagnosed with
Paranoid Schizophrenia.
Background:
Paranoid Schizophrenia can come on quick suddenly and disrupt a person s normal daily functions.
People suffering from paranoid schizophrenia prominently experience delusions and hallucinations.
Some individuals can be predisposed to schizophrenia due to cortical atrophy hypothesis or the
dopamine hypothesis. Cortical atrophy hypothesis believes that the patient s brain size can cause
schizophrenia, while the dopamine hypothesis argues that levels of dopamine in the brain are directly
related to the onset of schizophrenia. In the case of Valerie, she was recently diagnosed with Paranoid
Schizophrenia. Valerie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These pills caused several negative side effects for Valerie including tensions and banging sensations
in her head as well as making it very difficult for her to concentrate. Her doctor assumed that these
sides effects may be attributed to a possible allergic reaction to an ingredient in the pills. After
struggling with the reaction to the pills, Valerie eventually switched to Haldol shots which have been
quite successful for her for the past nine years. After switching she began to show the beginning
symptoms of recovery. Valerie attended a work program as well as other group programs offered by
the hospital and with time she soon felt capable to have regular conversations with people she came in
contact with. These improvements in her mental health allowed Valerie to be released from the
hospital. Once out of the hospital, Valerie acquired a job completing janitorial work through an
employment agency that caters to hiring disabled workers. She kept this job for seven years and later

How Does George Chaucer Criticize The Medieval Catholic...
George Chaucer used storytelling to criticize the Medieval Catholic Church. The issues he considers
or talk about exist in the modern Christian church. The issues include corruption, sexual scandal, and
the lust for power and money. Chaucer was not explicit in criticizing the church in his time for fear of
excommunication and being damned to hell. Today, these issues are in the media and topics of gossip,
theology conversation and research. The modern day protestant church in danger of following the
same path of the Medieval Catholic Church, if it does not heed warnings (Mfumbusa, Pavlo,
Armstrong). The Canterbury Tales were Chaucer s meanest of bringing attention to corruption in the
church. There were many tales; however, only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about Natural Equality and Civil Society
Natural Equality and Civil Society According to John Locke in his Second Treatise of Government ,
natural equality is an essential component of the state of nature; the state of nature being one of peace,
tranquility, and equality, where there is no common power guided by reason. However, the lack of
common power also supplies an inconvenience for the state of nature the aptitude to fall into a state of
war with no means to escape it. To avoid this inconvenience , Locke finds it a necessity to form civil
society ruled by a common authority of law. For a such government to preserve its legitimacy, the
transition into civil society must maintain some degree of equality. The origination of property, the

If all human beings are to use the earth to their best advantage and the earth is the common property of
all, someone somewhere will have conflicting interests with another human being over the possession
of some thing. The only remedy is to sacrifice his/her equality by consent (It is not likely that one
would surrender equality to another) OR to enter a state of war. The only protection against the state
of war in John Locke s opinion is to enter into civil society governed by a common authority. By
taking this measure, Locke insists humankind can better protect itself against war and preserve the
right to enjoy what one possesses, . . . because no political society can be, nor subsist, without having
in itself the power to preserve the property [pg. 18]. Entering civil society requires handing over one s
executive rights and submitting to a common authority by law. So, according to Locke s definition of
equality, giving up one s natural executive rights means natural equality is no longer truly existent.
Though we are all still born to the same advantages of nature , and we still share the same faculties ,
and we still do not gain the right to subordinate another human being, we consent to subordinate our
personal freedoms and liberties to a common law for our own welfare. By

Principle of legality in criminal case: a comment on Ethiopian revenue and custom authority s
prosecutor Vs. Ato Daniel mekonin case*
Salahadin Towfik
1. Synopsis of the case
The prosecutor of Ethiopian revenue and custom authority (prosecutor here in after) had brought a
charge against Mr Daniel mekonin (the accused here after) before federal first instance court, alleging
that the accused had been caught while transporting 46.96 KG of crude gold from Ethiopia to
Djibouti, between walechit and metahara. The prosecutor asserted that the accused committed
contraband crime by infringing custom authority proclamation number 60/97 and 368/2003 of article

The court had reversed the decision of the appellate court based on the reasoning that there is no rule
that dictate the subsidiary law should be publicized and written in certain language. In addition the
court asserted that the Ethiopian national bank had enacted this directive based on the power given to
the bank by the legislator in accordance with proclamation number 83/93, so as to implement this
proclamation.
3. Critique
Before dealing with the issue at hand let me provide general overview of principle of legality, the
basic ethical structure governing both the enactment and interpretation of criminal Statutes are the
principle of legality. It is commonly represented by the maxim nullum crimen sine lege, nulla poena
sine lege or no crime or punishment without law .This is a matter of general legislative morality since
it requires an individual to be given fair warning of what he or she may or may not do.Moreover; it
discourages state use of the criminal law for political rather than social ends. There are four key
attribute of principle of legality, which expressed in the legal principle of lexscripta (punishment must
be based on written law), lexcerta (the form and severity of punishment must be clearly defined and
distinguishable),

Theme Of Barbie Doll And The Death Of Marilyn Monroie
Poetry has a way of expressing its rage, grief, and irony at society and its social pressures. Although
each poem is different, they can carry a similar message that resonance with its audience. Barbie Doll
by Marge Piercy and The Death of Marilyn Monroe by Sharon Olds express how beauty weighs
women s lives and cause a tragic end from being the perfect specimen. Both discuss a similar theme
but carry the message out a difference way. In order to understand its similarities and differences it is
necessary to analyze the text to find its denotation and connotation. The poems Barbie Doll and The
Death of Marilyn Monroe share the themes of death and beauty, and how beauty affects society.
In Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy it tells the story of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both poems use names from iconic beauty icons. Barbies are seen by little girls and are the first things
to influence how they should define beauty. Normally the dolls have skinny bodies and small noses
and are able to have multiple careers and are admired by men. Thus, little girls grow up wanting to be
like Barbie. Marilyn Monroe is a sex icon who looks other women began to copy. Unlike Barbie she
was curvy and had an acting career, but she was also adored by men. Both icons influenced women on
how to look and impress men, but the influence becomes problematic and difficult to maintain
because only dolls and superstars to can survive that life. Even idols cannot survive that life, as proven
by Monroe. Only Barbie, an object can be seen as the perfect woman. Both poems use these names to
highlight how impossible it is for women to seen as normal or to be accepted as they are. Thus, an
early death can happen when the pressure is too much to handle and each poem has a tone of sadness
at both women s death. However, the Death of Marilyn Monroe encourages women to live and not be
like the icons they admire, while Barbie Doll see s it fit to strive for beauty until the

Alcatraz Prison
Alcatraz was a prison, that was in use from 1934 to 1963. It housed some of the world´s most
dangerous criminals over the span of twenty nine years. I chose to write about Alcatraz because I like
the history of weird and creepy places, which Alcatraz is. Alcatraz is creepy because there are many
claims that people have heard the cries and moans in cell blocks A, B, and C. I also chose to write
about this because I wanted to learn more about Alcatraz. Someday I want to go there. This essay will
explain why an Army prison was turned into a federal penitentiary on Alcatraz Island, who were some
famous inmates that once occupied a cell there and, it will detail some of the attempted escapes from
Alcatraz.
In 1933, the U.S. Army relinquished control of the island of Alcatraz to the U.S. Justice Department
(History.com). At that time the federal government wanted a federal prison that could house a criminal
population [that was] too difficult or dangerous to be handled by other U.S. penitentiaries
(History.com). The main reason that Alcatraz was turned into a federal prison is because escape was
thought to be impossible (History.com). Alcatraz was made more secure than it already was to prevent
escapes following construction to make the prison safer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A New Hope Microwaves Essay
In the movie Star Wars A New Hope, Han Solo states, She ll make point five past Lightspeed (IMBD,
Quotes for Han Solo, 2015, para 49). This is referring to the speed of light. Microwaves are used for
heating foods quickly. Though, what most people don t use microwaves for is to measure to speed of
light with the help of electromagnetic waves.
Most people use microwaves everyday. A lot of people actually wonder how microwaves work. For
example, radio waves and radiation, microwaves use radio waves and radiation to heat foods (How
Microwave Cooking Works, 2015). Furthermore, radio waves heat food by getting water molecules
out of food (How Cooking Works, 2015). In addition, the history of a microwave started off very
interesting. For instance, there was someone whose name was Dr.Percy Spencer, he accidently
discovered the microwave (Clevenger 2015). More importantly, Dr.Percy had a chocolate bar in his
pocket, he was testing a new vacuum and then the radiation and heat from the vacuum melted the
chocolate (Clevenger, 2015). In the end, microwaves are something that is very useful ... Show more

Moreover, The speed of light is faster than everything that exists. For instance, Light can move at the
speed of 186,000 miles per second, the speed of light is also faster than the speed of sound (How fast
is the speed of light, Para 1, 2015). For a while in the 1500s and the 1600s, scientists were trying to
figure how to measure the speed of light. Of course, many different scientists like Galileo tried to do
experiments on this, but they never turned out to work(A Case of History in Astronomy and Physics,
The Speed of Light, para 9, 10, 11). Although, in 1676 a man named Ole Roemer measured the speed
of light, Ole Roemer explained, that the speed of light is too much to measure (A Case of History in
Astronomy and Physics, The Speed of Light, para 9, 10, 11). Finally, the speed of light is the fastest

A Study On How Creams Can Be Divided Into A Few Definition...
FACULTY OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
ASSIGNMENT (SEMESTER 2)
Introduction
Creams are known to be divided into a few definition based on its function. One of the definition are
describing a thick white or pale yellow fatty liquid that usually rises on the top of the milk if we left
the milk undisturbed for a long time. Besides that it is also defined as a very thick liquid or soft
substance that is rubbed into the skin to make it softer or as a medicament for the skin (Merriam
Webster). Cream also exists in the form of facial cream, hair cream and in a lot of forms and serves
different purposes and function. It is their specific ingredients that differs the creams available in the
industry. The basic formulation of the cream is water, oil and emulsifying agent. Cream which are
being formulated usually comprise of separating and non separating cream. Separating creams are
creams which will separate into oils and water when left for a certain time meanwhile the non
separating creams will ensure the formulation stays together in place. All these factors are the function
of adding emulsifying agents. They are responsible in making the cream that will combine them
together completely or for a certain period of time. Therefore a stable emulsion is the main key in
making a good lotion (DIY Cosmetics). Some of the creams available in the market are cosmetic
creams, grooming creams, food industry creams and also pharmaceuticals cream. Pharmaceutical

The Bucket List is a film about two middle age men who have nothing in common other than that they
are both diagnosed with terminal cancer. Edward Cole, a White man, is a billionaire who owns many
hospitals. He is a self made man with a bitter outlook on life. Edward has married and divorced four

2003). There is a general belief that it is a sign of weakness for a man to express his emotions or
display a need for support in times of stress. However, the expression of emotion has been associated
with physical and emotional health benefits. People who write about their thoughts and emotions
regarding a traumatic experience derive enhanced physical and emotional benefits from the practice
(Zakowski, et al. 2003). It is Carter s introspection about his cancer diagnosis and prognosis that leads
him to begin to develop the bucket list. In the film the two main characters form a support network by
discussing their thoughts about their cancer and the way that society reacts to people with cancer.
Rather than focusing on their differences they bond through their similarities. They do not want their
disease to define who they are. A Lifeworld In the biomedical approach a terminal diagnosis is thought
of as the end of life rather than the end of living (Wrubel, Acree, Goodman, amp; Falkman 2009).
People who have terminal cancer benefit from continuing to live their lives as long as they are
physically and mentally capable of doing so (Wrubel, et al., 2009). Edward and Carter take their
bucket list and go on living life to the fullest. During the course of their travels the two men continue
to explore their feelings and thoughts about life. They address three areas of concern that relate to their

Springhill Country Guesthouse Essay
Springhill Country Guesthouse Case Study
1. What is meant by qualitative and quantitative research?
a) Qualitative essays are more subjective and focus on the researcher s own inferences drawn from his
study of the data.
The qualitative studies use data from focus groups or case studies that the researcher herself analyses.
b) Quantitative studies are more objective and concentrate on drawing conclusions based a statistical
analysis of the data. Both types of essays seek to answer a question, called a hypothesis, about some
aspect of social phenomena. The quantitative projects use surveys that provide a set of fixed responses
that can be coded with numbers.

It is important to mention:
a) Problem identification or recognition starts when a company manager believes that he doesn t have

Behavioral Techniques in the Classroom Essay
Behavioral Techniques in the Classroom
Very often, American parents complain that schools are disorderly and undisciplined. They claim that
their child s behavior has worsened and the child is using vulgar language. Teachers, however,
complain that students arrive at school lacking common courtesy and respect for authority. Because of
this, instruction time is wasted trying to obtain order (Bennett, et. al., 1999).
Student discipline is affected by classroom management. The way in which a teacher manages his/her
classroom delineates the type of instruction that will take place in the classroom. A classroom in which
the teacher takes total responsibility for guiding students actions comprises a different learning
environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clearer the structure in the classroom, the more freedom the teacher can allow students (Slavin,
2003).
Classroom rules are important in the smooth management of classrooms (Wardle, 2003). Effective
schools ensure that parents and students know what is expected of them. Their written rules clearly
define acceptable behavior and the consequences for breaking the rules (Bennett, et. al., 1999). Class
rules should be few in number, should be seen as fair and make sense to students, and be clearly
explained and taught to students. Class rules should become second nature to students (Slavin, 2003).
Not only must rules be clearly presented to students, they must also be implemented. Students need to
know that there will be real consequences for their misbehavior, not something that they will feel is
not a big deal. The teacher needs to be the moral authority in the classroom and it is imperative that
school officials and parents back up the teachers decisions (Bennett, et. al., 1999). Teachers who do
not establish their authority in the classroom often spend a lot of time dealing with misbehavior
(Slavin, 2003). Good behavior should be recognized and high academic standards maintained.
Students must understand that good manners are not a choice but a requirement; however, teachers
and other adults need to teach the students the need for self discipline. If students continue to be
chronically disruptive, they should be taken out of class

Contingency Management
Although contingency management has yielded impressive short term results, more research is needed
to obtain convincing long term results and evidence that will support the notion that this treatment can
sustain long term beneficial results for those with substance abuse issues. There have been issues with
patient relapse, particularly in the case of smoking addiction and schemes should be developed in
order to combat these relapses and create a more effective intervention programme (Higgins,
Silverman and Heil, 2008). More public knowledge is also needed about contingency management as
an intervention for addiction as it is not as well known as other drug counselling or addiction
treatments/centres. If more knowledge is distributed about reinforcement and contingency methods,
more substance users may come forward for treatment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, some clinics may receive donations that can help them fund reinforcement prizes for
patients or perhaps get small grants to help with costing. An option for clinics is to provide not just
money and voucher reinforcements but also other rewards such as lunches out, employment or take
home doses of methadone (Petry, 2002). Although there is potential for contingency management
based treatment centres to become quite expensive, it may be less expensive and more cost effective
than other treatments associated with drug use, for example a stay at the emergency centre in hospital
or inpatient stays in hospitals and clinics. In the long run, contingency management treatment centres
may greatly reduce the cost of addiction treatment. Furthermore, if these centres become more

The Cultural Heritage Within The Uk
Introduction
Museums have become crucial in society due to the sustainability of Cultural Heritage within the UK.
For relevance to future generations, museums and galleries must show their social purpose by
becoming increasingly aware of visitors wants need for a valuable experience. Through the
development of their customer service roles will help examine the ways in which museums can
expand their communication practices and achieve best practice (McLeod, 2012). Per ONS (Office of
National Statistics) states that since 2008, there has been 10 million visitors increase in the UK
museum market which suggest there has been a positive change in either the consumers visiting or the
museum ethos. This essay investigates the power of ethics within the museums setting regarding
human remains, the challenges that have arose as well as changes in the Museum sector, specifically
the Hunterian Museum in Glasgow, that have become apparent over the past decade.
Tourism Changes
Tourism is continually changing World wide, including destinations that were inaccessible to tourists
until recently such as Borneo and New Guinea. City breaks and niche markets have also become a
new trend within tourism industry where a focus on medical tourism is increasingly popular. Medical
tourism is a developing industry that involves consumers choosing to travel abroad for cosmetic
procedures at a lower expense as well as medical procedures unavailable in their own country (Snyder,

The First Governor Of The Great State Of Texas, Jane
Introduction
Allow me to introduce to you the next Governor of the great state of Texas, Jane Bitzi Johnson Miller.
Bitzi is a proud native Texan born in Odessa, Texas and is the granddaughter of former Governor of
Texas Joe Big Daddy Johnson. She grew up on her family s cattle ranch near Pecos, Texas. There she
learned the value of a hard days work, that family comes first, a man is only as good as his word, and
a firm handshake still goes a long way. After graduating from Pecos High School as Valedictorian
Bitzi attended Texas Tech University were she graduated with honors earning her Masters of Business

Mess With Texas!
Cultural and Regional Support Bitzi will enjoy support throughout the vast majority of the state.
Specifically the Panhandle, North Central, the Hill Country, East and, in particular, her home region of
West Texas much like Rick Perry did back in 2010. (Stiles, 2010) All areas are Republican heavy
albeit with a few outposts of Democratic heavy counties scattered about. Also like Perry her weakness
will be the areas along the border, major metropolitan centers of San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and
traditionally Travis County. (Stiles, 2010) Studies have been done that show Texas falls somewhere in
the middle of traditionalistic and individualistic political cultures. Historically, as Texas was a slave
holding state and a member of the Confederacy, it s political culture was planted firmly in
traditionalism. However, Texas with it s strong pro business orientation getting larger every year tends
to blend individualism with it s original culture of traditionalism. (Newell, Prindle, Riddlesperger,
2012) She will do well with individualists in large part to her history of entrepreneurship, experience
as a business woman, and her stand on not raising existing or creating new taxes.. She will appeal to

Respiratory Diseases
Respiratory diseases can be classified in many different ways; by the organ involved, by the pattern of
symptoms or by the cause of the disease (Barron, 2009). Disorders of the respiratory system can be
classified into four general areas:
Restrictive conditions (fibrosis, sarcoidosis, alveolar damage, pleural effusion) Vascular diseases (
pulmonary edema, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension)
Infectious, environmental and other diseases ( pneumonia, tuberculosis, asbestosis, particulate
pollutants): Coughing is very important, because it is the body s main method to remove dust, mucus,

How are infections of upper respiratory tract different from those of lower respiratory tract?
The main difference is the location of the infection. An upper respiratory tract infection would include
infection of the nose, nasal cavity, nasal and paranasal sinuses, the larynx and pharynex. A lower
respiratory infection would include infection of the traches, bronchi, or bronchial tree, the lungs or
pleural cavitiy.
Why are infections of the upper respiratory tract milder as compared to those pertaining to the lower
respiratory tract?
Lower rspiratory tract infections have secretions low down that can block the airways and prevent
sufficient oxygen being available to the lungs (Health Blurbs, 2015).
. Upper respriatory tract infections aren t so bad because if your nose is blocked you can breathe
through your mouth , so oxygen availability isn t much of an issue.
Describe the curative methods for each of upper and lower respiratory tract infections Treatment for
an upper respiratory tract infection may include rest, increased fluid intake, over the counter
medications to manage the symptoms, vitamin C, zinc, echinacea and nasal spray (Health Blurbs,
2015). Treatment for a lower respiratory tract infection may include increased fluid intake, NSAIDs,
antibiotics and over the counter

The Potential Chemical Attack On American Soil
The concern of a potential chemical attack on American soil has always been in the minds of our
government and various first response agencies that would be charged to address the effects of such an
attack. Republican congressman, Robert Pittenger, expressed this concern regarding the volatile
situation in Syria and the dangers posed by that situation in regards to the proper accountability of
Syrian chemical weapons (Ordonez, 2013). Congressman Pittenger s fears came from the possibility
of further instability in Syria that would prevent the Syrian government from maintaining positive
control and accountability of its chemical weapons. If Bashar Assad were to lose control of his
country, terrorist organizations could potentially use such situation as an opportunity to acquire
chemical weapons and transport them to key locations in order to facilitate their use on American soil
(Ordonez, 2013). In this situation there are two elements: terrorist acquiring chemical weapons and
terrorists using chemical weapons on American soil. The first one is more likely to happen, while the
second one would be far more difficult as the weapons must make it from Syria to the United States.
Fear that terrorist could potentially get their hands on Syrian chemical weapons were elevated upon
news that Bashar Assad s military had used chemical weapons against civilians in Syria (Borger,
2013). These actions clearly crossed the red line that President Obama had drawn. Speculation on

Jean Valjean Archetypes
At the end of the day there are only two great archetypes in literature: Jean Valjean the Apostle E.F.
opposite Michael Corleone and Iago. To watch someone rise to the pinnacle of creation or fall to its
lowest depths, these are the types of stories that instantly gain our attention. What draws Man to such
stories? Perhaps it lies in the ability of the epic to show the two paths that lie before him, eternal
fulfillment or everlasting guilt. Not only does the musical Les Miserables examine multiple
dimensions of the paths but it also contains the reasoning behind their existence. In other words, not
only is the disease and its progress shown, but also the catching of it in the first place. On top of that
stunning achievement it also successfully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

White Collar Crime And White Collar Crimes
White collar crimes have very distinguishing features that convey a different standard than any other
set of crimes that are committed within the judicial system. Consequently, these features are what
make white collar crimes not only hard to identify that a crime has occurred, but also the cost and
extent of the crimes. First white collar crimes are not oblivious to those around them, unlike street
crimes where you realize that a crime has been committed. Unlike a murder or burglary, the signs that
a crime has been committed are seen quickly. White collar crimes like embezzlement, health care
fraud, mortgage fraud may not be uncovered for an extended period if not ever. Thus, knowing the
crime has been committed leads to the understanding of the perpetrators of the crime being
discovered. Moreover, the alleged perpetrator of the white collar crime has legitimate access to items
involved in the crimes. Within common antisocial behavior those crimes have a perpetrator that can be
identified due to the fact a crime was discovered and they don t have a legitimate reason to be
somewhere or have access to things. Even with white collar crimes being discovered those who are
perpetrating them are harder to identify due to the lapse in discovery and the understand of the
complexity of the crimes. With all crimes, there is a victim to be found. However, with white collar
crimes this becomes a very complicated issue, unlike ordinary street crimes where are victim is readily

including us. Asexual reproduction is reproduction that only involves one parent. ( Pros and cons of
sexual and asexual reproduction ). I am going to focus on asexual reproduction and the Desert
Grassland Whiptail Lizard. This unique lizard uses asexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction is
better for this species of lizards because it only requires one parent, it is less risky, and the population
is only female.

Symbolism In The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

On the outer layer The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a shocking mystery, but on an underground
level, the book is almost an investigation of the brutal, inhuman abuse of different women in Sweden.
Also the book is about the corrupt viewpoints and actions of the antagonists. They are not even
considering concentrating on how women deserve to be treated as equals. This theme is illustrated in
chapters 11 13 when Salander gets savagely raped. Larsson uses motifs, different themes, and

Salander, the protagonist who exploits technology, uses computers to protect herself and her friends.
She uses computers to find out information that will increase her chances to have a successful career
and she uses computers to satisfy her ability to financially support herself. On a more essential note,
all throughout the novel, computers deliver the ability to level the playing field of different people s
power. By using computers Salander figures out a way to destroy both Bjurman and Wennerstroöms
reputation. Salander also gives Blomkvist the power to destroy anyone who he dislikes and anyone
who hurt him in the past. The authors symbolism of computers illustrates her theme by saying, In
Armanskys eyes, Salander was (...) the most able investigator he had met in all his years in the
business. (Larsson) That quote implies the theme violence against women because Harriet and Janne
(women) are fighting two men (violence) by using computers. Luckily, this time, women won the
fight. Later in the novel, Millennium s staff blatently disproves letting Janne Dahlmann and Salander
to use unprotected computers or to email. Unfortunately that leaves their strategy fruitless because
they no longer have the ability to go through with their plans to completely obliterate the men that
mentally and physically left bruises on them. In all accounts, computers symbolize power, knowledge
and the ability not just to live but to thrive. Symbolizing computers helps expand the theme violence

The Amazon Rainforest Covering more than forty percent of South America is the Amazon Rainforest.
It s known for being the largest rainforest on the planet. Most of the jungle lies in Brazil. The Amazon
Rainforest also holds the Amazon River. According to the National Science Foundation, the amazon
river is the longest river in the world by volume and contains twenty percent of the Earths freshwater.
But the Nile River is the longest when calculating width. Being as big a it is, the amazon holds a
massive number of dfferent types of species of wildlife with different kinds of sub ecosystems to
provide for them. When I think of the Amazon I first think of the terrestrial ecosystems. These are the
land based eviroments. I m going to take the first part of this project to talk about the terrestrial
ecosystem in the amazon and all the wildlife that it holds. According to WorldAtlas there are 427 types
of mammals, 1,300 types of birds, 378 types of reptiles, more than 400 kinds of amphibians, over
80,000 types of plants and trees, and estimation of over 2 million differnt types of insects.

popular species that benefit the jungle. The rainforest is divided in four layers: forest floor, understory,
canopy and emergent. The canopy is the most heavy populated with plant life, with trees towering up

Systems Biology and Computational Modeling
Systems biology integrates computational modelling with experimental techniques in order to better
understand the function of living organisms, the regulation of their cellular processes and how these
cells react to environmental perturbations [1]. Among the different computational approaches, kinetic
modelling gives the most detailed representation of the biological system. These models build on the
stoichiometry of the reactions, incorporating the dynamic interactions between different components
of the network. The dynamics in kinetic models are driven through ordinary differential equations
(ODEs) that represent the internal reaction mechanism as a function of species concentration and
parameters. These model parameters play a crucial role in describing the correct dynamics of the
model. However, it is only possible to measure a fraction of these kinetic parameters in wet lab
experiments due to high cost, difficulty and limitations in current techniques or methods [2]. Therefore
these parameters are indirectly determined through computational methods from other measurement
quantities, in particular the time course data of metabolite concentrations. However, as biological
models are often multi modal it is not uncommon for traditional parameter estimation methods to
become stuck in local optima [3]. In addition, traditional methods tend to perform badly in the
presence of high measurement noise. Furthermore most of these methods do not consider any form of

Analysis Of The Article Basic Writing Through The Back Door
In her article, Basic Writing Through the Back Door: Community Engaged Courses in the Rush to
Credit Age, Oregon State University professor Cori Brewster reflects on her experiences working with
high school and college students in an accelerated summer writing course for college credit. Brewster
s reflection is pragmatic and demonstrates the strengths and the weaknesses of the program. She also
shares her hopes for the future of similar programs and some suggestions for the improvement of
future of dual enrollment, early college, and other similar programs that are a part of the rush to credit
trend in secondary and postsecondary education. These features of Brewster s writing show Brewster s
careful consideration of her students and of the trend toward underpreparedness that these expedited
programs can cause for students when the focus is on hurried matriculation or the numbers instead of
students actual needs. With a goal of providing better access to composition instruction for Oregon s
rural students in a limited time under restricting conditions, Brewster manages to create a service
learning project that is meaningful for the students and the community. The obstacles they
encountered serve to give other teachers in similar programs and other teachers of transitional students
with the necessary insights to help make developmental and basic writing programs better.

Iranian Nuclear War Pros And Cons
November 4, 1979: a date to live forever. In Tehran, the capital of Iran, a demonstration turned hostile
when a group of students storm over the walls of the U.S. Embassy and take 90 people, hostage,
including 66 Americans. This was the beginning of the Iranian revolution, creating an Islamic
Republic under the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
Now, the Obama Administration plans to give these same people (under that same family) nuclear
power to possibly make weapons. The Iran US nuclear deal should be stopped, for it will only cause
the destruction of the state of Israel, and possibly America with a deal within the hands of an anti
American dictatorship and anti American people.

However, the sanctions placed on Iran were placed there for a reason and that reason was because of
Iran s continued illicit nuclear activities (U.S. State Department) These economic sanctions were
placed to hinder the attempt of Iran to build a nuclear bomb and now we are throwing away those
sanctions that were in place to protect us.
Again, others say that Iran has agreed to stop enriching as much uranium to possibly create nuclear
weapons of mass destruction. In contrast, Iran will have a thirty day notice before any inspection of
their equipment or facilities. Thirty days is ample time to hide any illegal enriching and stockpiles of
uranium for nuclear weapons.
CNN has quoted Ali Khamenei saying: I d say [to Israel] that they will not see (the end) of these 25
years, Israel is a key ally in the Middle East, and one that we say we will support. If we hand over
weapons of our allies destruction, we are not their allies. We will be indirectly helping Iran destroy
Israel.
In conclusion, Iran with its dictator and people will build a nuclear weapon, and they will use the
weapon against Israel and the U.S. resulting in a world war. So many people will die in nuclear strikes
from many countries. That is the number one thing that no one wants. Loss of human life. This deal

stability means that he/she is emotional instability or sometimes call neuroticism. They are more likely
to interpret ordinary situations as threatening, and minor frustrations as hopelessly difficult. Their
negative emotional reactions tend to persist for unusually long periods of time, which means they are

Openness to experience is used to describe human personality. Openness involves active imagination,
aesthetic sensitivity, attentiveness to inner feelings, preference for variety, and intellectual curiosity. A
great deal of psychometric research has demonstrated that these qualities are statistically correlated.
Thus, openness can be viewed as a global personality trait consisting of a set of specific traits, habits,

  • 3. Relationship Between Mother And Daughter The relationship between a mother and daughter A mother and a daughter can have an unimaginable bond or they can act like they barely like one another. A mother should always love, comfort, and support their child. A daughter should obey, listen, and respect their parent. Two Kinds was written by Amy Tan which is a short story focusing on the negative relationship of a mother and daughter. Suyan Woo wanted her daughter to be able to excel in America. The mother wanted to turn her daughter Jing Mei into a child prodigy. According to Tan, My mother believed you could be anything you wanted to be in America (543). Jing Mei starts to refuse doing what her mother tells her. This causes conflict in their relationship and neither of them wants to admit that they have done anything wrong. Suyan Woo and Jing Mei have a negative relationship based on the mother s actions; this unhealthy connection can be seen through failed communication, excessive control, and lack of respect. Suyan and Jing Mei have a negative relationship based on the way they communicate with one another. Both of them come from different backgrounds and have been influenced by different cultures. Since Jing Mei came from a different background, culture, and environment the mother and daughter have had a difficult relationship. They do not know how to express their feelings and they both end up getting angry with one another. For example, when Jing Mei stated Why don t you like me the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. How Does George Chaucer Criticize The Medieval Catholic... George Chaucer used storytelling to criticize the Medieval Catholic Church. The issues he considers or talk about exist in the modern Christian church. The issues include corruption, sexual scandal, and the lust for power and money. Chaucer was not explicit in criticizing the church in his time for fear of excommunication and being damned to hell. Today, these issues are in the media and topics of gossip, theology conversation and research. The modern day protestant church in danger of following the same path of the Medieval Catholic Church, if it does not heed warnings (Mfumbusa, Pavlo, Armstrong). The Canterbury Tales were Chaucer s meanest of bringing attention to corruption in the church. There were many tales; however, only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Essay about Natural Equality and Civil Society Natural Equality and Civil Society According to John Locke in his Second Treatise of Government , natural equality is an essential component of the state of nature; the state of nature being one of peace, tranquility, and equality, where there is no common power guided by reason. However, the lack of common power also supplies an inconvenience for the state of nature the aptitude to fall into a state of war with no means to escape it. To avoid this inconvenience , Locke finds it a necessity to form civil society ruled by a common authority of law. For a such government to preserve its legitimacy, the transition into civil society must maintain some degree of equality. The origination of property, the introduction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If all human beings are to use the earth to their best advantage and the earth is the common property of all, someone somewhere will have conflicting interests with another human being over the possession of some thing. The only remedy is to sacrifice his/her equality by consent (It is not likely that one would surrender equality to another) OR to enter a state of war. The only protection against the state of war in John Locke s opinion is to enter into civil society governed by a common authority. By taking this measure, Locke insists humankind can better protect itself against war and preserve the right to enjoy what one possesses, . . . because no political society can be, nor subsist, without having in itself the power to preserve the property [pg. 18]. Entering civil society requires handing over one s executive rights and submitting to a common authority by law. So, according to Locke s definition of equality, giving up one s natural executive rights means natural equality is no longer truly existent. Though we are all still born to the same advantages of nature , and we still share the same faculties , and we still do not gain the right to subordinate another human being, we consent to subordinate our personal freedoms and liberties to a common law for our own welfare. Critique Before dealing with the issue at hand let me provide general overview of principle of legality, the basic ethical structure governing both the enactment and interpretation of criminal Statutes are the principle of legality. It is commonly represented by the maxim nullum crimen sine lege, nulla poena sine lege or no crime or punishment without law .This is a matter of general legislative morality since it requires an individual to be given fair warning of what he or she may or may not do.Moreover; it discourages state use of the criminal law for political rather than social ends. There are four key attribute of principle of legality, which expressed in the legal principle of lexscripta (punishment must be based on written law), lexcerta (the form and severity of punishment must be clearly defined and distinguishable), ... Both icons influenced women on how to look and impress men, but the influence becomes problematic and difficult to maintain because only dolls and superstars to can survive that life. Even idols cannot survive that life, as proven by Monroe. Only Barbie, an object can be seen as the perfect woman. Both poems use these names to highlight how impossible it is for women to seen as normal or to be accepted as they are. Thus, an early death can happen when the pressure is too much to handle and each poem has a tone of sadness at both women s death. However, the Death of Marilyn Monroe encourages women to live and not be like the icons they admire, while Barbie Doll see s it fit to strive for beauty until the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At that time the federal government wanted a federal prison that could house a criminal population [that was] too difficult or dangerous to be handled by other U.S. penitentiaries (History.com). There is a general belief that it is a sign of weakness for a man to express his emotions or display a need for support in times of stress. However, the expression of emotion has been associated with physical and emotional health benefits. People who write about their thoughts and emotions regarding a traumatic experience derive enhanced physical and emotional benefits from the practice (Zakowski, et al. 2003). It is Carter s introspection about his cancer diagnosis and prognosis that leads him to begin to develop the bucket list. In the film the two main characters form a support network by discussing their thoughts about their cancer and the way that society reacts to people with cancer. Rather than focusing on their differences they bond through their similarities. They do not want their disease to define who they are. A Lifeworld In the biomedical approach a terminal diagnosis is thought of as the end of life rather than the end of living (Wrubel, Acree, Goodman, amp; Falkman 2009). • 19. Behavioral Techniques in the Classroom Essay Behavioral Techniques in the Classroom Very often, American parents complain that schools are disorderly and undisciplined. They claim that their child s behavior has worsened and the child is using vulgar language. Teachers, however, complain that students arrive at school lacking common courtesy and respect for authority. Because of this, instruction time is wasted trying to obtain order (Bennett, et. al., 1999). Student discipline is affected by classroom management. The way in which a teacher manages his/her classroom delineates the type of instruction that will take place in the classroom. The clearer the structure in the classroom, the more freedom the teacher can allow students (Slavin, 2003). Classroom rules are important in the smooth management of classrooms (Wardle, 2003). Effective schools ensure that parents and students know what is expected of them. Their written rules clearly define acceptable behavior and the consequences for breaking the rules (Bennett, et. al., 1999). Class rules should be few in number, should be seen as fair and make sense to students, and be clearly explained and taught to students. Class rules should become second nature to students (Slavin, 2003). Not only must rules be clearly presented to students, they must also be implemented. Students need to know that there will be real consequences for their misbehavior, not something that they will feel is not a big deal. The teacher needs to be the moral authority in the classroom and it is imperative that school officials and parents back up the teachers decisions (Bennett, et. al., 1999). Teachers who do not establish their authority in the classroom often spend a lot of time dealing with misbehavior (Slavin, 2003). Good behavior should be recognized and high academic standards maintained. Students must understand that good manners are not a choice but a requirement; however, teachers and other adults need to teach the students the need for self discipline. If students continue to be chronically disruptive, they should be taken out of class ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Contingency Management Although contingency management has yielded impressive short term results, more research is needed to obtain convincing long term results and evidence that will support the notion that this treatment can sustain long term beneficial results for those with substance abuse issues. There have been issues with patient relapse, particularly in the case of smoking addiction and schemes should be developed in order to combat these relapses and create a more effective intervention programme (Higgins, Silverman and Heil, 2008). More public knowledge is also needed about contingency management as an intervention for addiction as it is not as well known as other drug counselling or addiction treatments/centres. If more knowledge is distributed about reinforcement and contingency methods, more substance users may come forward for treatment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An option for clinics is to provide not just money and voucher reinforcements but also other rewards such as lunches out, employment or take home doses of methadone (Petry, 2002). Although there is potential for contingency management based treatment centres to become quite expensive, it may be less expensive and more cost effective than other treatments associated with drug use, for example a stay at the emergency centre in hospital or inpatient stays in hospitals and clinics. In the long run, contingency management treatment centres may greatly reduce the cost of addiction treatment. Furthermore, if these centres become more prevalent and possibly the dominant method of treating addiction and substance abuse, the number of addicts and abusers could greatly decrease further decreasing the cost of treating ... • 29. The Potential Chemical Attack On American Soil The concern of a potential chemical attack on American soil has always been in the minds of our government and various first response agencies that would be charged to address the effects of such an attack. Republican congressman, Robert Pittenger, expressed this concern regarding the volatile situation in Syria and the dangers posed by that situation in regards to the proper accountability of Syrian chemical weapons (Ordonez, 2013). Congressman Pittenger s fears came from the possibility of further instability in Syria that would prevent the Syrian government from maintaining positive control and accountability of its chemical weapons. If Bashar Assad were to lose control of his country, terrorist organizations could potentially use such situation as an opportunity to acquire chemical weapons and transport them to key locations in order to facilitate their use on American soil (Ordonez, 2013). In this situation there are two elements: terrorist acquiring chemical weapons and terrorists using chemical weapons on American soil. The first one is more likely to happen, while the second one would be far more difficult as the weapons must make it from Syria to the United States. Fear that terrorist could potentially get their hands on Syrian chemical weapons were elevated upon news that Bashar Assad s military had used chemical weapons against civilians in Syria (Borger, 2013). These actions clearly crossed the red line that President Obama had drawn. Speculation on what the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To watch someone rise to the pinnacle of creation or fall to its lowest depths, these are the types of stories that instantly gain our attention. What draws Man to such stories? Perhaps it lies in the ability of the epic to show the two paths that lie before him, eternal fulfillment or everlasting guilt. Not only does the musical Les Miserables examine multiple dimensions of the paths but it also contains the reasoning behind their existence. In other words, not only is the disease and its progress shown, but also the catching of it in the first place. On top of that stunning achievement it also successfully ... • 32. White Collar Crime And White Collar Crimes White collar crimes have very distinguishing features that convey a different standard than any other set of crimes that are committed within the judicial system. Consequently, these features are what make white collar crimes not only hard to identify that a crime has occurred, but also the cost and extent of the crimes. First white collar crimes are not oblivious to those around them, unlike street crimes where you realize that a crime has been committed. Unlike a murder or burglary, the signs that a crime has been committed are seen quickly. White collar crimes like embezzlement, health care fraud, mortgage fraud may not be uncovered for an extended period if not ever. Thus, knowing the crime has been committed leads to the understanding of the perpetrators of the crime being discovered. Moreover, the alleged perpetrator of the white collar crime has legitimate access to items involved in the crimes. Within common antisocial behavior those crimes have a perpetrator that can be identified due to the fact a crime was discovered and they don t have a legitimate reason to be somewhere or have access to things. Even with white collar crimes being discovered those who are perpetrating them are harder to identify due to the lapse in discovery and the understand of the complexity of the crimes. With all crimes, there is a victim to be found. However, with white collar crimes this becomes a very complicated issue, unlike ordinary street crimes where are victim is readily ... Asexual reproduction is reproduction that only involves one parent. ( Pros and cons of sexual and asexual reproduction ). I am going to focus on asexual reproduction and the Desert Grassland Whiptail Lizard. This unique lizard uses asexual reproduction. Symbolism In The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo November TDA On the outer layer The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a shocking mystery, but on an underground level, the book is almost an investigation of the brutal, inhuman abuse of different women in Sweden. Also the book is about the corrupt viewpoints and actions of the antagonists. They are not even considering concentrating on how women deserve to be treated as equals. This theme is illustrated in chapters 11 13 when Salander gets savagely raped. Larsson uses motifs, different themes, and symbolism to create the beautifully written, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo . Salander, the protagonist who exploits technology, uses computers to protect herself and her friends. She uses computers to find out information that will increase her chances to have a successful career and she uses computers to satisfy her ability to financially support herself. On a more essential note, all throughout the novel, computers deliver the ability to level the playing field of different people s power. By using computers Salander figures out a way to destroy both Bjurman and Wennerstroöms reputation. Salander also gives Blomkvist the power to destroy anyone who he dislikes and anyone who hurt him in the past. The authors symbolism of computers illustrates her theme by saying, In Armanskys eyes, Salander was (...) the most able investigator he had met in all his years in the business. (Larsson) That quote implies the theme violence against women because Harriet and Janne (women) are fighting two men (violence) by using computers. Luckily, this time, women won the fight. Later in the novel, Millennium s staff blatently disproves letting Janne Dahlmann and Salander to use unprotected computers or to email. Unfortunately that leaves their strategy fruitless because they no longer have the ability to go through with their plans to completely obliterate the men that mentally and physically left bruises on them. In all accounts, computers symbolize power, knowledge and the ability not just to live but to thrive. Symbolizing computers helps expand the theme violence against women develop and so does ... It s known for being the largest rainforest on the planet. Most of the jungle lies in Brazil. The Amazon Rainforest also holds the Amazon River. According to the National Science Foundation, the amazon river is the longest river in the world by volume and contains twenty percent of the Earths freshwater. But the Nile River is the longest when calculating width. Being as big a it is, the amazon holds a massive number of dfferent types of species of wildlife with different kinds of sub ecosystems to provide for them. When I think of the Amazon I first think of the terrestrial ecosystems. These are the land based eviroments. I m going to take the first part of this project to talk about the terrestrial ecosystem in the amazon and all the wildlife that it holds. According to WorldAtlas there are 427 types of mammals, 1,300 types of birds, 378 types of reptiles, more than 400 kinds of amphibians, over 80,000 types of plants and trees, and estimation of over 2 million differnt types of insects. Unfortunatley I cannot go over ever single one of these unique species so I will talk about the more popular species that benefit the jungle. The rainforest is divided in four layers: forest floor, understory, canopy and emergent. The canopy is the most heavy populated with plant life, with trees towering up to 200 feet ... • 37. Systems Biology and Computational Modeling Systems biology integrates computational modelling with experimental techniques in order to better understand the function of living organisms, the regulation of their cellular processes and how these cells react to environmental perturbations [1]. Among the different computational approaches, kinetic modelling gives the most detailed representation of the biological system. These models build on the stoichiometry of the reactions, incorporating the dynamic interactions between different components of the network. The dynamics in kinetic models are driven through ordinary differential equations (ODEs) that represent the internal reaction mechanism as a function of species concentration and parameters. These model parameters play a crucial role in describing the correct dynamics of the model. However, it is only possible to measure a fraction of these kinetic parameters in wet lab experiments due to high cost, difficulty and limitations in current techniques or methods [2]. Therefore these parameters are indirectly determined through computational methods from other measurement quantities, in particular the time course data of metabolite concentrations. However, as biological models are often multi modal it is not uncommon for traditional parameter estimation methods to become stuck in local optima [3]. In addition, traditional methods tend to perform badly in the presence of high measurement noise. Furthermore most of these methods do not consider any form of model ... These features of Brewster s writing show Brewster s careful consideration of her students and of the trend toward underpreparedness that these expedited programs can cause for students when the focus is on hurried matriculation or the numbers instead of students actual needs. With a goal of providing better access to composition instruction for Oregon s rural students in a limited time under restricting conditions, Brewster manages to create a service learning project that is meaningful for the students and the community. In Tehran, the capital of Iran, a demonstration turned hostile when a group of students storm over the walls of the U.S. Embassy and take 90 people, hostage, including 66 Americans. This was the beginning of the Iranian revolution, creating an Islamic Republic under the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. Now, the Obama Administration plans to give these same people (under that same family) nuclear power to possibly make weapons. Again, others say that Iran has agreed to stop enriching as much uranium to possibly create nuclear weapons of mass destruction. In contrast, Iran will have a thirty day notice before any inspection of their equipment or facilities. Thirty days is ample time to hide any illegal enriching and stockpiles of uranium for nuclear weapons. They are more likely to interpret ordinary situations as threatening, and minor frustrations as hopelessly difficult. Their negative emotional reactions tend to persist for unusually long periods of time, which means they are often in a bad mood. These problems in emotional regulation can diminish the ability of a person scoring high on neuroticism to think clearly, make decisions, and cope effectively with stress. Openness to experience is used to describe human personality. Openness involves active imagination, aesthetic sensitivity, attentiveness to inner feelings, preference for variety, and intellectual curiosity. A great deal of psychometric research has demonstrated that these qualities are statistically correlated.
