Improving An Employee s Stress Level Is Through Supervision
Alternatively, one of the most common methods used to manage an employee s stress level is through
supervision. As previously stated, social workers who work within the child welfare system can use
daily debriefing based on the critical incidents that occur with this population. For example, from
personal experience of being a supervisor over case managers working with children, supervision was
crucial not only for myself but for the caseworkers. The caseworkers were able to release their
emotions, concerns, and possible fears when dealing with their clients and their family. Huss (2012)
shows how employees use supervision to cope and discuss stressful situations, however, it is explained
how supervision is beginning to suddenly decrease. Huss (2012) describes how supervision is
beginning to decrease, which can be due to the possible lack of supervisory positions or funding. This
is an example of why the current practices, i.e. EPA, supervision, and OD, need to change within
organizations. Based on personal experience, in order to help manage an employees stress, an
organization needs to ensure that their staff has the tools needed to work efficiently and effectively.
Organizations must be aware of the stress that can be caused by the policies, regulations and
conflicting demands of the external and internal factors that influence an employee s work (Dextras
Gautier, Marchand, Haines, 2012). Furthermore, organizational SMIs encompass the leadership of
administration,

Literature Review On Glass Ceiling
Literature Review: A lot of previous studies show that the women are intentionally stopped from
achieving higher level positions in the organizations. This is called glass ceiling. In my study the Glass
Ceiling is my independent variable and I am trying to see its affect on the two dependent variables of
my study which are Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment . There comes a mediating
variable between glass ceiling and job satisfaction which is Job performance . Because when
employees job performance gets affected by the practices of glass ceiling in the organization badly
then ultimately their satisfaction level decreases. Glass ceiling also includes the gender discrimination
but my main focus would be gender ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
8, No. 6; 2013) The article is based on the findings of a structured questionnaire which was developed
according to previous studies relating this topic of glass ceiling (Bergman Bodil 2003, Dimovski
Skerlavaj and Man 2010, Smith and Crimes 2007). This study includes Organizational Practices ,
Male Culture Family and Social Commitments as the independent variables and their affect was
shown on Women Career Progress which is the primary dependent variable of the study. The study
was conducted on the mid aged Jordanian female managers employed in different sections of the
different organizations. Researchers received 117 useable responses of those structured questionnaires.
This research was an exploratory and analytical study. Reason for calling it an analytical study is that
its interest is finding the factors that influence women career progress. A simple regression test s
results showed that the first, second and third hypotheses were confirmed as expected earlier but when
the researcher applied a multiple regression test the results supported the fourth hypothesis of the
study. The study further shows the strong and significant relation of male culture and organizational
practices with the women career progress. Women family commitments had the weakest positive
relation with the women career progress. In this study ANOVA results confirmed the impact of glass
ceiling barrier on the women

An Advertisement For Harley Davidson Insurance
An advertisement for Harley Davidson Insurance is found on page twenty three of the 2015 HOG
magazine Volume 32. In the advertisement a couple is seen standing by their Harley Davidson
motorcycle with the Rocky Mountains behind them in the distance. They are smiling toward each
other with a look that they are enjoying their time together. Atmosphere for the advertisement is
created by the couple appearing to be carefree while out for a ride on their motorcycle. Short focused
word phrases are used in the advertisement to get the reader s attention and help to pull a person into
wanting to buy or look at the product. There are three different layers that can be seen in the
advertisement. Those layers are the background, slogan, and main focus. Jib Fowles reveals basic
appeals to advertising with a list of fifteen different tactics that are used (Fowles). Harley Davidson
Insurance is using an advertisement strategy in their ad to emphasize the need to feel safe, by
providing insurance in a family atmosphere. The background paints the picture and the scenery for the
advertisement. There are mountains in the distance that resemble the Rocky Mountains. Before the
mountains begin to go to the top there is the woodland level with countless numbers of trees. The
mountains have snow on the tops and are vaguely seen through the light clouds in the sky. The
advertisement is in black and white, which shows that everything is calm and safe. Nothing is
disturbed and the couple are

Gender Stereotypes In Thelma And Louise
Directed by Ridley Scott and released in 1991, the feminist film Thelma Louise is one that deserves
recognition for challenging viewers expectations of how gender stereotypes are foreseen in a
patriarchal Southern U.S. society. Ultimately providing a negative message for female audiences, the
film portrays two women s struggles in rising above a society exclusively governed by men. The story
follows Thelma Dickinson, an unhappily married housewife who throughout her life, has been placed
in a subjugated position by her narcissistic, unappreciative and oppressive husband, Darryl. Over the
course of this film, viewers observe Thelma s dramatic evolution into a highly independent female
figure alongside her best friend Louise Sawyer. Their relationship is an important aspect of the film as
it reinforces how dependant they are on each other, especially when society has turned their backs on
them. As both travel on a both physical and emotional journey of self discovery, the duo begins to
truly realise who they are as women. There is no good reason as to why they should have to put up
with men looking down upon them all the time. Scott s decision to give the two women protagonists
counter stereotypical roles doesn t alter the road film genre but instead shows us the heroic survival of
women escaping from a misogynistic society.
In the very first scene, the director is quick to challenge our expectations of how gender stereotypes
are foreseen in a patriarchal Southern U.S.

Examples Of SQL Injection
2.5 SQL Injection
SQL Injection is a code injection technique, used to attack data driven applications, in which
malicious SQL statements are inserted into an entry field for execution (e.g. to dump the database
contents to the attacker) [13]. SQL Injection must exploit a security vulnerability in an application s
software, for example, when user input is either incorrectly filtered for string literal escape characters
embedded in SQL statements or user input is not strongly typed and unexpectedly executed. SQL
Injection is mostly known as an attack vector for websites but can be used to attack any type of SQL
database. SQL Injection vulnerability can occur in all languages, including high level, strongly typed
languages such as PHP and Python. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some sources further divide these two groups into traditional (caused by server side code flaws) and
DOM based (in client side code). The non persistent (or reflected) XSS vulnerability is by far the most
common type [16]. These holes show up when the data provided by a web client, most commonly in
HTTP query parameters or in HTML form submissions, is used immediately by server side scripts to
parse and display a page of results for and to that user, without properly sanitizing the request [17]. A
common example of a potential vector is a site search engine where user searches for a string and the
search string will typically be redisplayed verbatim on the result page to indicate what was searched
for. If this response does not properly escape or reject HTML control characters, a cross site scripting
flaw will ensue

Pride in Young Goodman Brown and The Minister s Black...
Pride in Young Goodman Brown and The Minister s Black Veil
Many of Hawthorne s characters wrap themselves in a pride of intellect.
The characters become victims of their pride and consequently suffer. Goodman
Brown, from Young Goodman Brown and Hooper, from The Minister s Black Veil
are two characters that suffer from a pride of intellect. Their pride causes
them similar problems and they end up living similar lives, although they came
from different backgrounds.
Hooper and Goodman Brown both become isolated from society. Hooper had a
revelation, and he feels that he truly understands human nature and sin.
However, he believes that he is above everybody else because he ... Show more content on

despairing and embittered, belongs neither to the Devil s party nor to the only
other life sustaining cause he knows that of the Puritan faith and the Puritan
community (Levy,119).
Hooper and Goodman Brown s pride of intellect cause them to loose a loved
one and their kind and loving nature. Hooper drives his fiance Elizabeth away
by wearing the veil. Elizabeth sees how Hooper is separating himself and it
scares her away from their purposed marriage. Hooper s fiancee, seems at first
unawed by the veil. To her it is merely a cloth that hides the face she most
delights to see. But, like a sudden twilight in the air, Elizabeth suddenly
senses the unapproachable inner isolation of the man who wears it, and its
terrors fall upon her, too (The Minister s Black Veil,228). As a result of
Hooper pride, he looses his loving and kind nature. Hooper is shunned and even
feared by the others in their times of health and happiness (The Minister s
Black Veil,228). He concentrates so much on the negative aspects of people that
he refuses to see the good in them. He makes the dark side of people the whole
truth of human existence. His own kind and loving nature is lost for

The Rule Of Law In Civil And Common Law Traditions
The rule of law in civil and common law traditions In both the common and civil law traditions the
ordinary function of a court is adjudicative. Courts make findings on disputed questions of fact,
identify and apply the relevant law to the facts as agreed by the parties or found by the court, consider
the legal consequences and award appropriate remedies. Thus, a state that adheres to the principle of
rule of law provides legal certainty to it citizens, to plan their lives with less uncertainty and protects
them from to the law from arbitrary use of state power. The rule of law first and foremost seeks to
emphasize the necessity of establishing a rule based society in the interest of legal certainty and
predictability. Legal certainty is a central tenet of the rule of law understood around the world
although its meaning differs between legal traditions and nation States. In 2007 at Potsdam, the G8
Foreign Ministers declared their commitment to the rule of law [as a] core principle on which we build
our partnership and our efforts to promote lasting peace, security, democracy and human rights as well
as sustainable development worldwide and stated that it is imperative to adhere to the principle of
legal certainty. Legal certainty in the civil tradition Legal certainty is a fundamental principle
characteristic of the civil tradition and is recognized within the national legal systems of Europe the

The Stranger
Albert Camus creates a series of characters in The Stranger whose personality traits and motivations
mirror those that are overlooked by the average man. Camus develops various characters and
scenarios that are considered rude and unpleasant, but because it has become common, society accepts
it as norms. Camus incorporates atrocious personality traits of the characters, variety, consistency, and
everyone s fate through the creation of the characters.
Camus demonstrates the disregarded reason behind the origins of relationships between people to
characterize people as selfish. The relationship between Salamano and his dog displays how Salamano

I agreed to act as a witness for him (37), the contextual evidence proves that Raymond only uses
Meursault for his own benefit by making him his witness. In this relationship, Camus presents
Raymond with selfish like characteristics for using Meursault for his own benefit and not returning the
favor to Meursault.
Camus employs a change in routine, Meursault having food with other people, which reveals the
unexpected cause for him becoming involved and encountering bad situations. Meursault mentions
that I ate at the restaurant, at Céleste s, as usual (Camus, 3), which displays his every day routine. The
principal factor of his everyday routine which involves food, usually took place at Céleste s.
Meursault in the textual quote displays a shift in his food routine when mentioning, I ve [Raymond]

invitation leads up to him becoming involved in a faulty situation. Meursault mentions the situation
when saying, He d thought of asking me to write it for him. Since I didn t say anything, he asked if I d
mind doing it right then and I said no (32). Through the excuse of just having dinner with Raymond, it
results in Meursault writing a letter to Raymond s ex girlfriend. Later the letter causes a quarrel which
results in Meursault becoming a witness as well. Another instance of a change from Céleste s
restaurant is when Meursault consumes coffee at

Continuing Professional Development In Nursing
Continuing professional development is essential in the health care system particularly for the nurses
so they can maintain the knowledge and understanding about up to date health trends, policies,
treatments and techniques. It also provides the opportunity for nurses to maintain, improve and
broaden their knowledge, expertise and develop the personal and professional qualities required
throughout their personal lives (AHPRA, CPD, 2016, page 1). Nurses are individually responsible for
the delivery of safe and competent nursing care and each nurse is accountable for their practice.

the ageing population and complex health care needs so through regular, useful and well targeted CPD
we advances our skills and knowledge for more challenging patient profile, strategies to improve
resilience and reduce burnout ( Aitken et al., 2011).Moreover, CPD extends the opportunity for us to

Why Relationships Fail
Some people think that heartbreak is the worst feeling in the world. Many relationships have gone
wrong, leaving more questions than answers. Why does it sometimes feel like a broken heart hurts
worse than a broken bone? Do feelings really have that much of an impact on a person s day to day
life? There are a number of reasons why a relationship fails. Jealousy, attachment, detachment,
selfishness, time, trust, communication, honesty, and acceptance are just a few reasons.
Do opposites really attract? Maybe at first. It s hard to maintain a relationship when two people have
absolutely nothing in common. It could be the simplest of things such as what type of movies you like
or what to get for dinner to the most difficult of things ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You start to think that nobody will understand what you re going through. You don t have any goals.
Or you just stop believing that there isn t anything out there for you to hold onto that has any meaning
to your life.
Life isn t about the what ifs or maybes or the destination, it s about the journey and what you can
overcome to make you a better person. It s about setting goals and doing your best to succeed. There is
nothing in life that you have to prove to anybody but yourself. Everybody is a unique individual that
nobody else can compare to. If you felt that you couldn t be yourself in a relationship then that s
something that needs to be reevaluated. You could look at a failed relationship as an obstacle in life
that you have to overcome in order to become a better, stronger person.
Placing blame on a failed relationship and putting too much thought into the question Why?, isn t
really fair to either party involved. It is not necessarily one person s fault or because one specific event
that happened. If two people were together, for however long, then something about the other person
must have made you happy at one point during your relationship. Every relationship needs time and
space away from each other as well as together. A time when you can each find who you are as an
individual to better be a couple.
Not everybody has a successful relationship right off the bat. A successful relationship takes time and
effort to build

Pill Bug Lab Report
Food Preferences in the Sow Bug (Porcellio Laevis)
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment is to determine what kind of food the sow bug prefers; decaying
leaves, potatoes, grapes, or sow bug food.
Hypothesis
If a sow bug is placed in a choice tray, and has access to decaying leaves, potatoes, grapes, and sow
bug food, the sow bug will choose the decaying leaves over its other options. This hypothesis was
based on research stating that a sow bug s main food source is decaying vegetation. This is the food
they are accustomed to and therefore will select over the other three options which they rarely if ever
would have access to.
Materials
Twelve sow bugs
Bisected grapes
Chunks of potato
Decaying leaves
Pinch of sow bug food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This information would suggest that the sow bugs were not especially interested in food at the time the
experiment took place.
The data gathered might not have been conclusive in discovering the preferred food source of sow
bugs, but it at least showed that the decaying leaves were what they were attracted to for whatever
reason. This information could be used in a variety of different ways. It would be helpful in pest
control as well as in keeping a sow bug alive. For people who consider sow bugs a nuisance, the data
could reduce the population of sow bugs in certain areas by removing the decaying leaves. This would
make the habitat less inviting and therefore discourage the presence of sow bugs.
When relating the information to a wider variety of topics, even though the information was not
conclusive, it came to attention that the preference of habitat or food source in sow bugs has a major
effect on the areas in which they live and on the organisms survival. Whether it is because of food
and/or environmental related issues the fact that the sow bugs preferred to reside in and/or eat the
decaying leaves shows that areas with significant quantities of decaying leaves have a chance of being
affected by sow bugs. Because decaying matter is a main food source for sow bugs it could be
assumed that if sow bugs resided in an area containing decaying leaves, they would also be ingesting
them. This would have an impact on that environment. When the sow bugs eat the

Low Voter Turnout In America Essay
Voter turnout drastically decreased in 1968, when the voting age was lowered to 18. America is ranked
extremely low in political participation amongst other industrialized countries, coming in above only
two countries, Russia and Switzerland. As a whole, mass participation is not stressed in The United
States. Texas, ranks below the bottom for voter turnout among other states. Texas already does not
stress mass participation as compared to Midwestern states and New England states. Texas also has
many factors than can contribute to its low voter turnout such as racial diversity, socioeconomic
diversity and political culture.
Voter turnout has decreased on a national level throughout the years, even in presidential elections. On
a nationwide scale, voter turnout is lowest in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, a rational voter will only vote if the personal benefits outweigh the costs. Most
Americans know that the likelihood of one vote determining the outcome of the election is very low,
therefore many people do not see a direct tangible benefit from voting in an election. Studies also
show that the poor, unemployed, less educated and minority population tend to feel alienated from
politics. Unless a candidate is specifically addressing their specific needs, this population of people do
not feel the need to go out and vote. Another factor of low voter turnout is the media predicting early
winners. When media and news outlets predict the winner of a vote before the polls are even closed,
voters may feel discouraged from voting, thinking that their candidate has already lost and their vote
will not make a difference. However, this can also work in the reverse direction, where people choose
to go and vote in order to ensure that the predicted candidate does not win, as was seen recently in the
Michigan primary election where Hillary Clinton was predicted to win ended up losing to Bernie

Computer And Smartphone Addiction ( S ) Are Becoming More...
Computer and smartphone addiction(s) are becoming more and more prevalent every year. From a 1
year old children to grown adult men and women. At first glance, these electronics look harmless. But,
if used in excess, someone can easily become addicted and not even know it. Smartphones have social
media apps such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter; that s only naming a few. Many people around
the world habitually use and check on these apps, on an hourly to an everyday basis. Continuously
checking these apps will ultimately lead to addiction if not recognized and controlled. Computers have
the same effect along with help from the internet; video games, Netflix, Youtube, can all entertain
someone for a few hours. That time can easily be doubled, tripled and/or quadrupled, because of how
entertained or bored someone can be. Society needs to start realizing how much time they are
spending on their smartphones and computers. There has to be some sort of equilibrium to establish,
in order to not cause addiction or obsessive behavior. Smartphones and computers are going to keep
growing and expanding for decades. Technology impacts most of us in our life; we are surrounded and
engulfed by it. Our lives have been made easier and a little more fun by the help of technology. For
example, computers and smartphones. But, these technologies could actually be quite harmful. Can
people really become addicted to these technologies? Cooke 2 Over the last decade, computers and

Organisation of schoolwork and teaching is guided by a conception of learning where pupils own

important. Pupils process and interpret the information that they absorb on the basis of their prior

seem to be more independent in their learning and working. Since PISA there have been many
discussions going on to research the reasons and factors why Finland is one of the top countries

relation between pupils and teacher is more based on trustfulness rather than for instance in Germany
or many other Asian countries, where it is still more common to

My Reflection
This lesson was the first one I did during practicum week and I thought it went very well. I did this
lesson in the morning pretty much after calendar time. We had to wait a couple minutes for some of
the students to get back from extra reading practice. When I went up to the front of the room a lot of
the students got excited. Considering I was somebody new, they thought it would be fun for me to
teach them. I first asked the students what long vowel sounds they have been working on and almost
all of the students raised their hands. I was very proud of the fact that I did not have any trouble with
names when I was calling on them. I started the lesson with those questions in order to get them ready
for the lesson, it was a quick warm up in order to start thinking about what we will be doing. Next I
told the students what we would be doing and that we will be working with the white boards and I
dismissed the students by their table groups, which are North, South and West. This worked really
well and made it so there wasn t a huge cluster around the white boards. The time that I allotted for the
students getting the materials was perfect. I was still able to keep them engaged and it made it efficient
so no extra time was wasted on getting the white boards. When I started to go through the long a
sounds I just had the students shout that those out. This class has spent a lot of time on that sound and
I knew the students were very knowledgeable in that long vowel. I felt

Death Of A Salesman Play Analysis
On February 10, 1949, Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman premiered for the first time at the
Morosco Theatre in New York, NY. Initial reviews were positive, and the play was described as a
notable piece of stagecraft . Ever since, there have been thousands of productions of Miller s famous
play, including a recent production at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in 2012. However, this production
did not garner the same successes as its predecessors, despite the production was intended to become a
revival of the play, with a fresh interpretation. In his article, Erik Haagensen analyzes Mike Nichols
2012 production of Death of a Salesman, particularly how it fails to revive the play due to poor

Haagensen compliments Wittrock s ability to find the balance between Happy s flirtatious, superficial
side and his zealous, family oriented side. Haagensen laments that Wittrock would have been a much
better Biff than Garfield. Portraying Linda Loman is none other than Linda Emond, who challenges
how audiences have previously perceived Linda Loman. Rather than the submissive wife, Emond
portrays Linda as a fiery mother who goes toe to toe with her husband and children. Haagensen
suggests that while she gives a strong performance, certain choices in delivery make some moments
fall flat. Another character Haagensen makes note of is Willy s dead brother Ben, played by John
Glover. The character, which is presented as a figment of Willy s mind, is portrayed by Glover with
...a heightened energy that transcends naturalism (Haagensen 18). Haagensen claims the production
has both positive casting choices, but also very negative ones. However, to him, the negatives far

1) Based on the experiences of Chrysler and Diamler Benz AG, what is the importance of culture in
the change process?
Culture effects performance! Each structural culture operates differently; in order for them to properly
function they must combine their processes. These processes would include management styles, pay
structures, capacity to communicate, compromise, understanding and accepting different cultures,
conforming to meet planned goals, the ability to maintain and meet a new combined culture and
working structures. An organizational culture s effectiveness is determined by: coherence, persuasive
and depth, and adaptability to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Germans prided themselves on analytical research that produced a plan, while the Americans
reached for the impossible and kept coming up with new ideas to achieve these impossible goals.
3) What specific mistakes did Chrysler and Daimler Benz AG make in the change process? Cite
examples to support your answer.
A cultural clash was the major hurdle to the realization of the synergies identified before the merger
even took place. The Germans and the Americans had been out of sync from the start. The two proud
management teams resisted working together, were wary of change and weren t willing to
compromise causing the company to agree on a plan for development. Daimler Chrysler combined
nothing beyond some administrative departments, such as finance and public relations. Not selecting a
change agent was the biggest mistake during the change process. The Company s American President
James P. Holden was replaced with a German Executive; Dieter Zetsche, who imposed
DaimlerChrysler Benz cultures making any possible implementations for planning impossible due to
lack of communication and ability to conform a new culture that worked in both organizations.

Study World Religion
World religion includes a wide ranging and rather an influential spectrum. Therefore, studying world
religion allows a person to enrich his or her own experience through several aspects of its study. This
week s assignment includes ten reasons that studying world religion remains important. Of the ten
articulated reasons, I chose intellectual questioning as my greatest motivation for the study, and
appreciation for the arts as the least significant factor associated with the study of religion (Molloy,
2010).
Although religious beliefs vary from person to person, the study of different religious beliefs allows
for a greater spiritual knowledge within one s own beliefs, thus providing the greatest motivation for

The Importance Of Scientific Qualities And Scientific...
According to the grade scale that is laid out in the science lesson plan one student received a D grade,
one student received a C grade, twenty five students received a B grade, and two students received an
A grade. Going with the science grade book data independently, only one student isn t at mastery level
and would need the content re taught to them. The objective states that the student will need to
identify human qualities and scientific habits of mind that famous scientists in history may have
possessed. First, let s break the meaning down for human qualities and scientific habits of the mind to
understand if the formative assessment aligns with the objective. Human qualities are being
empathetic, intuitive, creative, passionate, a good listener, and persuasive (Gabriel Petit, 2014).
Scientific habits of the mind are as follows; logical thinking, quantitative learning, deductive
reasoning, proper questioning, and reliance of sound evidence (Scientific Habits of Mind, 2017). After
evaluating the questions only one question would coincide with this objective. The remaining five
questions have to do with events or details of the three scientists lives.
The standards attached to this lesson plan states the student should develop abilities necessary to do
scientific inquiry and understand scientific inquiry. Students should also be able to develop an
understanding of science as a human endeavor and the history of science. Again, the formative
assessment doesn t

Ariel Castro s Psychodynamic Perspective
Brief Summary Between the years of 2003 and 2013, Ariel Castro held three young women, Michelle
Knight, Amanda Berry, and Georgina Dejesus, captive. Over the course of the ten years, they were
beaten, raped, and dehumanized in horrifying ways. The young women kept diaries that spoke of the
violence that went on inside of Mr. Castro s house. For example, the women wrote about how he
forced them to be sexually active with him, locked in dark rooms for long periods of time with the
anticipation of abuse awaiting them, being treated like animals, etc. Ariel Castro was a very sick man
as he gained pleasure from watching his victims suffer. Social Culture Perspective The sociocultural

The Violation And The Protection Of Privacy
In today s world the increased dependence on technology and the internet in particular, has
transformed both the violation and the protection of privacy. Some might argue that the concept of
universal individual privacy is nonexistent today; but on the other hand the global privacy rights
framework has never been so sophisticated.
We exchange personal information for sheer ease of use and more personalized services. This is the
kind of exchange we readily approve of on the internet on a daily basis. Accepting the terms and
conditions of the privacy policy agreement of say Facebook or Google; gives them access to your
preferences and interests leading to a more enriched and involved user experience. We seldom think of
the implications of just handing over the access to our personal data especially on the social media but
computer scientists and policy experts believe that such innocuous bits of self revelation can be
amassed overtime and reassembled by computers to help create a picture of a person s identity.
The crux of the argument is, your personal information is less valuable to you than it is to companies
who come up with increasingly invasive techniques to fish data from the user. To fully understand the
privacy bargain everyday on the web, let s take a look at a simple policy agreement. By reading the
above article, you give company X complete control to view and examine your choices, to sell
knowledge gained and supply it to a third party without limitation.

No, I did not know her personally but I had the thought that, that could have been me. On July 13,
2015 social media, the news and the internet were booming with information about the death of
Sandra Bland. Sandra Bland was arrested on July 10, 2015 for a minor traffic violation in Hempstead,
Texas while she was on the way to accept her new job at Prairie View A M. Three days later Bland
was found hanged in her jail cell in Waller County, Texas. The county coroner classified her death as a
suicide, although many believe that she was murdered by one of the officers. Until this day we still

Sandra had no cameras inside of her cell. A camera outside her cell recorded no movement in the
hallway for 90 minutes before guards found her dead. The autopsy states that she committed suicide
and that there was no sign of struggle. Sandra s family had no reason to believe that she would take
her own life. They claimed that she was well grounded and had always been. Sandra Bland was taking
a new job at Prairie View A M University in Texas. She had graduated from Prairie View A M in 2009
and was returning there as a student ambassador. So why would this woman who had just gotten a
great job offer take her own life? As time passed during her investigation, things just were not adding

Pros And Cons Of Resilience

Introduction
Resilience is a broad construct which spans across a broad and diverse range of disciplines. In
engineering resilience of a system refers to a set of behaviours and strategies allowing for the creation
of proactive defences against disturbance and interruption that threatens the systems integrity (Palazzi

and react to change, not only to survive, but also to evolve (Newnham and Crash, 2015). In sport

Similarities Between The Balloon And The Red Balloon

Love and Friendship
Stopping for a few seconds to admire a flower, an insect, a phenomenon of nature, an architecture,
etc., in days full of worries, have become memorable. Also, all these seconds sent me every time into a
wonderful world, just like Confucius said, Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it . The
short films The Balloon directed by Martynas Zaremba and The Red Balloon directed by Albert
Lamorisse have the plot people s reaction for a few seconds at sight of a black balloon. The Balloon
film submits a series of reactions from various people in the city caused by a simple black balloon
with no intended meaning. The balloon starts to appear above the city one night while people were
sleeping. The Red Balloon , too shows an emotional story of friendship between a boy called Pascal,
and his red balloon. The writer and director Lamorisse succeeds through fiction to combine reality, the
wonder, and the magic of this friendship. In both short films, the main focus is a floating balloon, but I
believe that their differences are more striking than their similarities. Both films The Balloon and The
Red Balloon have a similar high point. In my opinion The Balloon high point is that when the balloon
appears on a street where a bad boy with a knife in his hand is ready to commit an act of violence. The
presence of the balloon in that area stops the bad boy to commit it. Moreover, the bad boy looks his
way to sky to admire the balloon for a few seconds. Likewise, the balloon from Lamorisse s film
avoid an act of violence. For example, a gang of older kids chases Pascal around city, determined to
steal and destroy his balloon. The red balloon performs a miracle, it saves little Pascal from that chase.
It sacrifices itself and lets itself tortured with stones to save Pascal s life. Furthermore, the red balloon
dies for this cause. However, in three distinct ways, The Balloon and The Red Balloon films are
almost opposites. First of all, their score is very different. The Balloon film sound source is the song
with lyrics titled Time to Leave of the band Suicide DJs. The lyrics can provide depth, powerful to the
song, and make the audience to

The Turn Of The Screw Analysis
The Turn of the Screw is one of the most controversial works in literature and the text has provoked a
variety of critical interpretations from its publication in 1898. In this novel, the governess tells her
experience with two apparitions that no one but she could see. And the governess accuses the ghosts
of servants for corrupting the children, Miles and Flora. Critics concerning about the truth of the story
are divided two basic camps based on their acceptance or rejection of the governess s credibility as a
storyteller. Some critics believe that the ghosts are real and the governess is a rational and credible
narrator, while the others believe that the ghosts are hallucinations of the governess and regard the
governess as an incredible and mentally abnormal narrator. Also, we could speculate the author s
intention on the basis of his life experience and other works of Henry James. This essay will examine
the reliability of the governess on the basis of the text and interpret Henry James s intention on the
basis of other sources. The critics from psychanalytic perspective claim that the existence of ghosts is
the governess s hysterical delusion. The ghost is the projection of governess s own sexual hysteria,
which resulted from the conflict between native romantic impulses and idealistic innocence required
by Victorian society (Renner). The inexperienced governess encounters the handsome, bold, young
gentleman with charming ways with women (James, 4) and she

Catcher In The Rye Vs. Don Quixote Essay
J.D. Salinger s TheCatcher in the Rye can be compared to Cervantes Don Quixote. Both novels feature
naive protagonists pining for an ideal world. In Salinger s novel, Holden Caulfield is a sixteen year old
who experiences challenging and questionable events in the mid stage of his adolescence. Holden
wants to protect the innocent children like the catcher in the rye from the immorality and corruptness
of the phony adult world. In Cervantes work, Don Quixote is the idealistic protagonist who sets out to
transform the world in accordance to his medieval vision. His growing obsession with stories of
knighthood and books of chivalry leads him to abandon his former life and become a wandering
knight set out to right the world s wrongs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Holden was walking up the stairs he sees fuck you written on the wall and rubs it off with his hand.
Then, later as he is going down a different staircase he sees the same phrase on the wall, but this time
scratched in with a knife so he can t efface it. At that moment, he thought that there would be millions
of signs just like that one in the world. There was no way he could eradicate all of them. Even in the
peace of the Egyptian tomb room at the museum there is a fuck you written in crayon. At this point, he
is hopeless and realizes that his dreams are unattainable.
In the carousel scene with Phoebe Holden reluctantly accepts the fact that everyone loses his or her
innocence. While on the carousel, Phoebe joins the other kids in trying to grab for the gold rings.
Although Holden is afraid that she will fall off the horse, he realizes that he can t stop her. He states,
The thing is with kids is; if they want to grab for the gold ring, you have to let them do it and not say
anything. If they fall off, they fall off, but it s bad if you say anything to them.
Similarly, Cervantes Don Quixote portrays an idealistic protagonist who sets out to transform the
world in accordance to his medieval vision. The novel opens by briefly describing the main character s
fascination with chivralic stories. He dreams for the way things were in the times of knights and the
code of chivalry. Even though he lived in the Renaissance Era, he decided to turn his dream into

Salem Witchcraft Trials Of 1692
Courtney Gray English III 3rd block Mrs. Gray 19 March 2012 Important Facts in the Salem
Witchcraft Trials of 1692 Black magic. The Dark Arts. Voodoo. Sorcery. Conjuring. Witchcraft. No
matter what they chose to call it, witchcraft was an evil association with the devil and the use of magic
or the alleged use of magic, in the eyes of the Puritans of Salem, Massachusetts. And it was the
alleged part that caused the Salem Witchcraft Trials tragedy of 1692. The Puritans believed the signs
of witchcraft were apparent if only people knew what to look for. Witches had physical signs, called
witches marks, such as moles or other skin anomalies (Linder ¶15). Anyone in league with the devil
was also believed to be unable to recite the Lord s Prayer, and George Burroughs cast serious doubt on
the validity of the trials when he recited the Lord s Prayer flawlessly as he stood upon the gallows
(Netzley 215). Sadly, it was not enough to spare his life. The magistrates also believed spectral
evidence was an acceptable means of identifying a witch. Spectral evidence was testimony that relied
on the accusers, who allegedly saw the accused witch s specter loose in Salem, causing pain and
trouble to the good people in town (Benson, Brannen and Valentine 1362). Spectral evidence was
impossible to prove or disprove, since only the afflicted people could see the specters (Benson,
Brannen and Valentine 1362). Once a person was accused of witchcraft, he or she had to be put to the

Negligence, Psychiatric Loss, Economical Loss Occupiers...
In this leaflet I will describe the law of negligence and occupier s liability, economic loss and

Negligence is when somebody has a duty of care and that duty is breached. Negligence is split into 3
parts.
Duty of Care
In certain situations, a duty of care is owed to another person. For example, a surgeon owes a duty of
care to whoever they operate on. The existence of a duty of care is established by the Neighbour Test
which was brought in by Lord Aitken after the Donoghue v Stevenson case;

Social value of the defendants action is took into consideration in certain cases. If the purpose of the
actions took by the defendant is of value to society, abnormal risk is justified. In Watt vs Hertfordshire
1954, a victim was trapped under a vehicle at the scene of a road accident, A heavy duty jack was
needed to lift the vehicle but the vehicle used to transport it was unavailable. Whilst holding the jack
on place on a vehicle unsuitable for the transportation, a fireman injured his back. The fireman sued
his employers for negligence but failed in his actions because the social values of the defendants
action were valuable as lives were at risk. Last of all, Cost of avoiding harm needs to be taken into
account. The argument that a danger was too costly to eliminate is not a legitimate argument. However
courts do recognise a balance between the risk and the cost of eliminating it. If the risk is remote and
the precautions needed to be taken are very expensive, the defendants lack of action by not doing
anything may be justified. The greater the risk is and the more likely it is, the consideration is given
towards the cost of the eliminating measures which the defendants may have taken to safeguard. The
decision in these circumstances relies on whether the courts decide that the defendants had acted
reasonable in the given

Grad School At A Very Good Program
When I met my former fiancé, we were both in grad school at a very good program, working on a mix
of loans, grants, and small scholarships to make it through. Neither of us came from wealthy
backgrounds, and our school was very expensive. We took refuge in the fact that we were the poor
kids, surrounded by many wealthy people who did not have to worry about the same things that we
did. And because we were both on the same (very strict) budget, when it came to things like dating
and romance, we had very similar limits for what constituted a couple s night. I can count on one hand
the times we went out to dinner together to a real restaurant, and our biggest hobby was probably
getting creative with ramen recipes and watching our shared Netflix account. I loved it because it was
him, but I admit that I was always envious of the other students around me who seemed to be able to
live the way they wanted, without worrying about the cost. We both graduated within a year of each
other, and both got jobs more or less in our chosen professions. I became a counselor at a charter
school for underprivileged but gifted students, helping guide them into college and choose the best
classes. My ex took a job doing research for a foundation involved with urban planning. We were the

Diversifying Teaching Styles to Meet the Needs of All...
Diversifying Teaching Styles to Meet the Needs of All Learners When researching about education,
one often finds a great deal of literature and information about learning styles. Educators spend
countless hours studying their students in order to find out how they learn best. All students have
needs when it comes to how they learn and educators must be able to meet those needs in order to
promote successful learning in their classrooms. This (paper/article) will focus on teaching strategies
and how to vary them so that each learning style preference is addressed, therefore increasing the level
of achievement of each student and making learning a successful outcome in the classroom.
Strategies, or methods of instruction, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These suggestions will increase the amount of learning for students in your classroom. There have
been several publications written on the topic of teaching styles and sifting through all the information
can be tedious. The first, and most obvious, place to start would be to discuss a little about how
learning occurs. The brain is a complex organ that scientists are still studying. Much has been learned
about the brain, but much more needs to be researched. One thing that has been studied a great deal is
memory and how it works. All human beings use their memory to learn. Information that has been
learned was processed in the short term memory and stored in the long term memory. We retrieve the
information through recall, recognition, and encoding specificity. Recall is a simple retrieval of
information. Recognition involves a set of pre generated stimuli presented to learners for a decision or
judgment (Driscoll, 2000). For example, when one hears the words Oh say can you see... one
automatically recognizes it as the opening line to the national anthem. The encoding specificity
principle states that whatever cues are to facilitate encoding will also serve as the best retrieval cues
for remembering (Driscoll, 2000). For example, wearing the same clothes to take a test as when
studying for the test will increase the likelihood of recalling the information

Josh Waitzkin In Searching For Bobby
In the movie, Searching for Bobby Fischer, the main character, Josh Waitzkin, had many exemplary
moments that defined his character. Determination, humbleness, and empathy are few of the many
words that can be used to describe Josh. With these values embedded within the young chess player,
Josh began to show everyone who he really is. One of the many challenges that Josh faced and
overcame was the constant pressure from his father and his chess teacher. After learning that his son
was quite the chess player, the father signs Josh up with a teacher to further enhance his abilities.
While this may seem harmless, it began to take a toll on Josh. The boy no longer wanted to participate
in chess due to new ideas and systems implemented by his teacher. Furthermore, the father s
exaggerated desire to win put even more strain on Josh. However, throughout the whole ordeal, Josh

This is where Josh s humbleness contradicted that supposed mindset. Throughout the film, Josh ends
up playing a numerous amount of opponents in chess. One game in particular really emphasized his

his dad to win. When asked for a rematch with no holding back, Josh won without even being present
at the chessboard his opponent was too easy. Another example of humbleness would be the final battle
of the movie: Josh vs Jonathan. In the final scene, Josh ends up finding a way to beat Jonathan and
offers him a draw before carrying out his final attack. These two scenes successfully represented Josh
s value of humbleness. He does not insult his opponents or think lowly of them, he respects each and

Essay about Ecstasy
Ecstasy is Methylene Dioxymethamphetamine, often abbreviated as MDMA. This drug is a member
of the same family of drugs that include amphetamine and LSD. I once believed that ecstasy was a
mixture of methamphetamine and LSD, but as I researched, I found out that it has its own chemical
structure. Ecstasy is not a mixture of other drugs; it is something all its own.
Ecstasy alone makes people biased towards ecstasy without even doing the research necessary to
judge it. There are some 500,000 regular users of the drug Ecstasy in the United Kingdom alone.

In 1985 a small group of people sued the DEA to try and prevent them from doing so. This small
group of people failed due to an incident that had happened the year before. China White, a drug sold
to heroin addicts as a legal substitute, contained a poisonous impurity that caused a form of severe
brain damage. This caused the US Congress to pass a law allowing the DEA to place an emergency
ban on any drug that it felt might cause any danger to the public. MDMA was one of the drugs banned
on July 1, 1985. (Saunders p.8) The temporary ban lasted for one year only. There was a hearing set
up to decide what the final word would be on Ecstasy. At the end of the case, the Judge recommended
MDMA to be placed in a category that was not as restrictive. The DEA would not back down from
their decision, and ignored the recommendation given by the judge. By placing MDMA in a less
restrictive category it would have allowed the drug to be manufactured and to be used for research.
In 1986 a non profit organization called The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies,
also known as MAPS, opened A Master File for MDMA. This complied with the prerequisite for the
licensing of any new drug. By doing this it allowed MAPS to conduct research on MDMA. The FDA
has approved human volunteers to be used for the research into the effects of MDMA. The hearings
began in 1993. (Saunders p.9)

Rate Of Reaction Between Hydrochloric Acid And Sodium T
Experimental Investigation Rate of Reaction
Research Topic:
The topic includes the effect of concentration and temperature on the rate of reaction between
hydrochloric acid (HCl) and Sodium Thiosulphate (Hypo solution). There are multiple ways to test the
rate of reaction between two substances, however the experiment we will be conducting involves
placing a conical flask directly over a black coloured x and recording the time it takes for the x to
become invisible after the two solutions react with each other. This is simple and direct as multiple
tests can be undertaken at different concentration levels and multiple temperatures.

Aim:
The overall aim of this experimental investigation is to further research and investigate the factors of
temperature and concentration and how these two elements can alter or change the speed or rate of a
reaction. The aim will be investigated thoroughly, with multiple experiments being conducted to
ultimately fulfil this aim, with as much detail and data as possible so an in depth conclusion can be
delivered.
Hypothesis:
It is hypothesised that when the temperature at which the chemical reaction takes place is increased,
the speed of the reaction will also increase, whereas when the temperature at which the chemical
reaction takes place is decreased, the speed of the reaction will decrease. This hypothesis correlates to
the investigation because when the Hydrochloric acid is at a higher temperature, the solution that is
mixed with it, in this case Sodium Thiosulphate, the rate at which the reaction occurs will be much
faster. Whereas, when the temperature of the Hydrochloric acid is decreased, the Sodium Thiosulphate
solution that will be mixed in will result in the rate at which the reaction occurs being much slower. It
is also hypothesised that when the concentration of a solution in a chemical reaction is increased, the
speed of the reaction increases. Whereas, on the other hand, when the concentration of the solution in
the chemical reaction is decreased, the speed at which the reaction occurs will be far slower. This

Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies
Reading through the intrepid journeys of this novel, we come to learn about each of the four Mirabal
sisters, along with their attitude and actions towards their merciless leader. In Julia Alvarez s In The
Time of the Butterflies, readers are introduced to four sisters living under the dictatorship of Rafael
Trujillo, the head of the Dominican Republic. All sisters harbor an intense hatred for the state, but
among them, two sisters in particular bear stronger differences than the others Minerva and Dede.
Minerva is an adamant character whom delves deeper into the secrets of Trujillo and the coming
revolution, whereas Dede s character shies away and lingers in the back. While Minerva and Dede
both long to see the corrupt regime overthrown, it is only Minerva who jumps into action to oppose
the state. Minerva, the most resilient sister, uses her audacity, combined with a desire for equality, to
express her opinions and challenge the state, while Dede s reserved and wary self leads her to remain
hesitant in public. When time comes for Minerva to attend one of the many grand parties of Trujillo,
the lustful leader decides that she must belong to him, and makes an effort to entice her through
conversations of keeping her beloved university open. Expectedly, Minerva is not in the least swayed
by Trujillo s persuasion, and when he physically forces himself on her in pursuit of her consent to stay,

Luke Combs Mrs. Daugherty English 9 March 20, 2017 Are Fishing Regulations Strict Enough?
Fishing has been around for thousands and thousands of years. It has been a crucial part to our
survival and well being as a human race. Nowadays fishing is not only done for food, it has also
become a recreational activity. With the large affect fishing has on our society isn t it important we
regulate what we do with the fish? Fishing regulations are used to protect what we do with the fish and
the limits we have. Commercial fishing regulations need to be stricter or fishing may not be around
forever. Fish populations are declining much faster than scientists ever thought. In fact the population
of fish has declined by nearly fifty percent since the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anyways it s not like fast food fish sandwiches are required for us to survive. Also fish is wasted very
frequently, it expires or is not eaten, so that is just harming our resources for no reason. People need to
realize that fish is important, but could be used in a much smarter way. Many are reasonable and try
not to be wasteful, but too many people are. Undoubtedly, if we continue this pattern of wastefulness
with our ocean s resources there will be consequences. Many statistics and facts back this up. The
rules and regulations we are putting on commercial fishing simply aren t getting the job done. Our
ocean s fish population has declined so much in forty five years and the overfishing by commercial
boats hasn t gotten better, just worse. Remember the fate of the ocean s resources is in our very own
hands. Works Cited The Threats of Overfishing: Consequences at the Commercial Level. DUJS

The World s Largest Religion
Introduction
Christianity is the world s largest religion in number of adherents, accounting to more than 2.1 billion
(around 31.4% as of 2015) and geographical spread in almost every country in the world, there is at
least one Christian community (Green ,2015).
The former religion of the Romans was polytheism based and could not give comfort to the destitute.
The many Gods and Goddesses did not lend themselves to the idea of equality and salvation.
Christianity proclaimed the equality of all people. People were considered equal in Christianity and
the Christian God was the unquestioned authority. This God did not share a pantheon with others, he
was the one and only. The new religion rejected the existing social system of slavery, and thus gave
rise to hope of liberation from oppression of the most desperate people. The religion called for the
reconstruction of the world. It gave hope to slaves, hope for freedom to common people through a
simple and accessible way through the adoption of the doctrine of Christ (Adair, 2008, pp.18 19).
Initially, Christianity spread among the Jews of Palestine and the Mediterranean diaspora of the Jews.
But starting from the first decades, especially through the work of the Apostle Paul, it has acquired a
large number of followers among other nations (Adair, 2008, p.19).
The Character of God
According to the doctrine of Christianity, God is an original entity and a predecessor of the whole
world, omnipresent, omnipotent and

Dualism In Zoot Suit
Zoot Suit s use of duality and politicization of characters and ideologies is a key component of the
Sleepy Lagoon murder and the disempowerment of Mexican Americans in the 1940s, which lead to
the rise of the Chicano movement. Through the two main characters that the audience see political
matters highlighted and duality of humanity. Henry Reyna and El Pachuco are granted three
dimensional personalities in Zoot Suit through writing techniques and artistic aspects, which serve to
represent the disempowerment of the Mexican American community in the 1940s. On a most basic
level, Henry represents the common archetype of the nice guy . He loves his mother, he s planning to
join the army, he seems to be able to date whoever he wants but chooses to have a sweet but equally
simple girlfriend. The audience, at the beginning of the film, feels a generic brand of compassion for
Henry, the kind one feels when a character and their struggles are simplified. The archetype of the
average nice guy is one that is generally only written for white male characters in American media.
The audience sees Henry s love for his mother from the beginning, in the scene when he gives her
extra money he s made in order to cover expenses. In that same scene, Henry s father mentions Henry
s desire to join the army. This is immediately followed by Henry s parents forgetting who he is taking
to the dance, the implication being that he has the ability to date nearly any girl in his school and that

Hunting Vs Hunting Essay
Misconceptions Vs. Reality of Hunting
Many people have misconstrued ideas about what it means to be a hunter. Some have this idea in their
heads that hunters are just out to kill and have no respect for the environment the animals live in or the
animals themselves. When in reality hunters care more about the environment than most people
because of the very fact that they care about the animals they hunt. Hunting is one of the best way to
bring a family together like no other activity. The misconception that hunting is a just an
individualized activity couldn t be more wrong. When hunting with your family, you experience an
adventure with your loved ones that brings you all closer together like no other way. The truths of
what it means to be a hunter are hunters care about the animals they hunt and the environment they
hunt in more than the average person. Hunting is a great way to bring the family together unlike any
other activity. Also, hunting brings people closer to nature in way unlike any other. And it s this
connection with nature that keeps hunters humbled by the environment they are in and the animals
that live in it.
Hunters know more about the animals they hunt and the environment they live in better than anyone
else. Before a hunter ventures off to pursue the animal they are hunting, weeks of pre season scouting
are required in order to pattern the animal to get in close enough to make a kill. The misconception
that hunters have to just drive around and watch for an animal then go kill it is completely absurd.
Hunters spending days even weeks looking for and observing the animals they are attempting to
harvest, and coming up with a game plan on how they are going to harvest them. Biologists, the Game
and Fish Departments, and many other wildlife agency s depend on hunters reports for accurate data in
measuring the health of big game herds. When a hunter receives their tag in the mail, it usually will
come with a blood testing kit. The Game and Fish started issuing these kits a few years ago in an
attempt to track where the brucellosis disease was spreading to. Now, the Game and Fish could have
just tranquilized a few hundred elk from each area surrounding the state of Wyoming over the years.

Neonatal Epilepsy
Epilepsy is one of the most common neurodegenerative disorders that affect around 1% of the global
population worldwide. Although the optimal use of the 24 approved anti epileptic drugs in The United
States has successfully treat some of the symptoms related epilepsy, but not the underlying
epileptogenesis processes, particularly in neonatal epilepsy. Newborn are more subjected to early
onset of epilepsy because of the common complications of labor in human, such as hypoxia ischemia
and pre eclampsia. Such complications may cause major damage in the neonates brain, including

great number of evidence point to inflammation as a potential pathway ... Show more content on

It is a well known biomarker of brain injury associated with Alzheimer s disease, concussion and
epilepsy. Based on literature review, an overproduction of soluble S100B from the astrocytes binds to
the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) leading to various responses including
increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation, release of pro inflammatory markers, and
activation of stress response kinases resulting in neuronal cell death. The ongoing neuronal injury and
inflammation further promotes cellular apoptosis and impairs neurogenesis in epileptic brain.
Identification of this mechanistic relationship between acquired epilepsy and inflammation will
provide an important therapeutic target pathway for prevention of

  • 2. Improving An Employee s Stress Level Is Through Supervision Alternatively, one of the most common methods used to manage an employee s stress level is through supervision. As previously stated, social workers who work within the child welfare system can use daily debriefing based on the critical incidents that occur with this population. For example, from personal experience of being a supervisor over case managers working with children, supervision was crucial not only for myself but for the caseworkers. The caseworkers were able to release their emotions, concerns, and possible fears when dealing with their clients and their family. Huss (2012) shows how employees use supervision to cope and discuss stressful situations, however, it is explained how supervision is beginning to suddenly decrease. Huss (2012) describes how supervision is beginning to decrease, which can be due to the possible lack of supervisory positions or funding. This is an example of why the current practices, i.e. EPA, supervision, and OD, need to change within organizations. Based on personal experience, in order to help manage an employees stress, an organization needs to ensure that their staff has the tools needed to work efficiently and effectively. Organizations must be aware of the stress that can be caused by the policies, regulations and conflicting demands of the external and internal factors that influence an employee s work (Dextras Gautier, Marchand, Haines, 2012). Furthermore, organizational SMIs encompass the leadership of administration, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is called glass ceiling. In my study the Glass Ceiling is my independent variable and I am trying to see its affect on the two dependent variables of my study which are Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment . There comes a mediating variable between glass ceiling and job satisfaction which is Job performance . Because when employees job performance gets affected by the practices of glass ceiling in the organization badly then ultimately their satisfaction level decreases. This study includes Organizational Practices , Male Culture Family and Social Commitments as the independent variables and their affect was shown on Women Career Progress which is the primary dependent variable of the study. The study was conducted on the mid aged Jordanian female managers employed in different sections of the different organizations. Researchers received 117 useable responses of those structured questionnaires. This research was an exploratory and analytical study. Reason for calling it an analytical study is that its interest is finding the factors that influence women career progress. A simple regression test s results showed that the first, second and third hypotheses were confirmed as expected earlier but when the researcher applied a multiple regression test the results supported the fourth hypothesis of the study. The study further shows the strong and significant relation of male culture and organizational practices with the women career progress. Women family commitments had the weakest positive relation with the women career progress. In this study ANOVA results confirmed the impact of glass ceiling barrier on the women ... In the advertisement a couple is seen standing by their Harley Davidson motorcycle with the Rocky Mountains behind them in the distance. They are smiling toward each other with a look that they are enjoying their time together. Atmosphere for the advertisement is created by the couple appearing to be carefree while out for a ride on their motorcycle. Short focused word phrases are used in the advertisement to get the reader s attention and help to pull a person into wanting to buy or look at the product. There are three different layers that can be seen in the advertisement. Those layers are the background, slogan, and main focus. Jib Fowles reveals basic appeals to advertising with a list of fifteen different tactics that are used (Fowles). Harley Davidson Insurance is using an advertisement strategy in their ad to emphasize the need to feel safe, by providing insurance in a family atmosphere. The background paints the picture and the scenery for the advertisement. There are mountains in the distance that resemble the Rocky Mountains. Before the mountains begin to go to the top there is the woodland level with countless numbers of trees. The mountains have snow on the tops and are vaguely seen through the light clouds in the sky. The advertisement is in black and white, which shows that everything is calm and safe. Nothing is disturbed and the couple are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Gender Stereotypes In Thelma And Louise Directed by Ridley Scott and released in 1991, the feminist film Thelma Louise is one that deserves recognition for challenging viewers expectations of how gender stereotypes are foreseen in a patriarchal Southern U.S. society. Ultimately providing a negative message for female audiences, the film portrays two women s struggles in rising above a society exclusively governed by men. The story follows Thelma Dickinson, an unhappily married housewife who throughout her life, has been placed in a subjugated position by her narcissistic, unappreciative and oppressive husband, Darryl. Over the course of this film, viewers observe Thelma s dramatic evolution into a highly independent female figure alongside her best friend Louise Sawyer. Their relationship is an important aspect of the film as it reinforces how dependant they are on each other, especially when society has turned their backs on them. As both travel on a both physical and emotional journey of self discovery, the duo begins to truly realise who they are as women. There is no good reason as to why they should have to put up with men looking down upon them all the time. Scott s decision to give the two women protagonists counter stereotypical roles doesn t alter the road film genre but instead shows us the heroic survival of women escaping from a misogynistic society. In the very first scene, the director is quick to challenge our expectations of how gender stereotypes are foreseen in a patriarchal Southern U.S. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of SQL Injection 2.5 SQL Injection SQL Injection is a code injection technique, used to attack data driven applications, in which malicious SQL statements are inserted into an entry field for execution (e.g. to dump the database contents to the attacker) [13]. SQL Injection must exploit a security vulnerability in an application s software, for example, when user input is either incorrectly filtered for string literal escape characters embedded in SQL statements or user input is not strongly typed and unexpectedly executed. SQL Injection is mostly known as an attack vector for websites but can be used to attack any type of SQL database. Some sources further divide these two groups into traditional (caused by server side code flaws) and DOM based (in client side code). The non persistent (or reflected) XSS vulnerability is by far the most common type [16]. These holes show up when the data provided by a web client, most commonly in HTTP query parameters or in HTML form submissions, is used immediately by server side scripts to parse and display a page of results for and to that user, without properly sanitizing the request [17]. A common example of a potential vector is a site search engine where user searches for a string and the search string will typically be redisplayed verbatim on the result page to indicate what was searched for. Pill Bug Lab Report Food Preferences in the Sow Bug (Porcellio Laevis) Purpose The purpose of this experiment is to determine what kind of food the sow bug prefers; decaying leaves, potatoes, grapes, or sow bug food. Hypothesis If a sow bug is placed in a choice tray, and has access to decaying leaves, potatoes, grapes, and sow bug food, the sow bug will choose the decaying leaves over its other options. This hypothesis was based on research stating that a sow bug s main food source is decaying vegetation. This information would suggest that the sow bugs were not especially interested in food at the time the experiment took place. The data gathered might not have been conclusive in discovering the preferred food source of sow bugs, but it at least showed that the decaying leaves were what they were attracted to for whatever reason. This information could be used in a variety of different ways. It would be helpful in pest control as well as in keeping a sow bug alive. For people who consider sow bugs a nuisance, the data could reduce the population of sow bugs in certain areas by removing the decaying leaves. This would make the habitat less inviting and therefore discourage the presence of sow bugs. Unless a candidate is specifically addressing their specific needs, this population of people do not feel the need to go out and vote. Another factor of low voter turnout is the media predicting early winners. When media and news outlets predict the winner of a vote before the polls are even closed, voters may feel discouraged from voting, thinking that their candidate has already lost and their vote will not make a difference. Haagensen suggests that while she gives a strong performance, certain choices in delivery make some moments fall flat. Another character Haagensen makes note of is Willy s dead brother Ben, played by John Glover. The character, which is presented as a figment of Willy s mind, is portrayed by Glover with ...a heightened energy that transcends naturalism (Haagensen 18). Haagensen claims the production has both positive casting choices, but also very negative ones. However, to him, the negatives far outweigh the positives. In Haagensen s review, the casting choices made by Nichols singlehandedly stifle the potential of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to the grade scale that is laid out in the science lesson plan one student received a D grade, one student received a C grade, twenty five students received a B grade, and two students received an A grade. Going with the science grade book data independently, only one student isn t at mastery level and would need the content re taught to them. The objective states that the student will need to identify human qualities and scientific habits of mind that famous scientists in history may have possessed. First, let s break the meaning down for human qualities and scientific habits of the mind to understand if the formative assessment aligns with the objective. Human qualities are being empathetic, intuitive, creative, passionate, a good listener, and persuasive (Gabriel Petit, 2014). Scientific habits of the mind are as follows; logical thinking, quantitative learning, deductive reasoning, proper questioning, and reliance of sound evidence (Scientific Habits of Mind, 2017). After evaluating the questions only one question would coincide with this objective. The remaining five questions have to do with events or details of the three scientists lives. Some might argue that the concept of universal individual privacy is nonexistent today; but on the other hand the global privacy rights framework has never been so sophisticated. We exchange personal information for sheer ease of use and more personalized services. This is the kind of exchange we readily approve of on the internet on a daily basis. Accepting the terms and conditions of the privacy policy agreement of say Facebook or Google; gives them access to your preferences and interests leading to a more enriched and involved user experience. Similarities Between The Balloon And The Red Balloon GEORGETA HARPAD ESL 101 JOBST Love and Friendship Stopping for a few seconds to admire a flower, an insect, a phenomenon of nature, an architecture, etc., in days full of worries, have become memorable. Also, all these seconds sent me every time into a wonderful world, just like Confucius said, Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it . The short films The Balloon directed by Martynas Zaremba and The Red Balloon directed by Albert Lamorisse have the plot people s reaction for a few seconds at sight of a black balloon. The Balloon film submits a series of reactions from various people in the city caused by a simple black balloon with no intended meaning. The balloon starts to appear above the city one night while people were sleeping. The Red Balloon , too shows an emotional story of friendship between a boy called Pascal, and his red balloon. The writer and director Lamorisse succeeds through fiction to combine reality, the wonder, and the magic of this friendship. In both short films, the main focus is a floating balloon, but I believe that their differences are more striking than their similarities. Both films The Balloon and The Red Balloon have a similar high point. In my opinion The Balloon high point is that when the balloon appears on a street where a bad boy with a knife in his hand is ready to commit an act of violence. The presence of the balloon in that area stops the bad boy to commit it. Moreover, the bad boy looks his way to sky to admire the balloon for a few seconds. Likewise, the balloon from Lamorisse s film avoid an act of violence. For example, a gang of older kids chases Pascal around city, determined to steal and destroy his balloon. The red balloon performs a miracle, it saves little Pascal from that chase. It sacrifices itself and lets itself tortured with stones to save Pascal s life. Furthermore, the red balloon dies for this cause. However, in three distinct ways, The Balloon and The Red Balloon films are almost opposites. First of all, their score is very different. The Balloon film sound source is the song with lyrics titled Time to Leave of the band Suicide DJs. The lyrics can provide depth, powerful to the song, and make the audience to ... • 32. The Turn Of The Screw Analysis The Turn of the Screw is one of the most controversial works in literature and the text has provoked a variety of critical interpretations from its publication in 1898. In this novel, the governess tells her experience with two apparitions that no one but she could see. And the governess accuses the ghosts of servants for corrupting the children, Miles and Flora. Critics concerning about the truth of the story are divided two basic camps based on their acceptance or rejection of the governess s credibility as a storyteller. Some critics believe that the ghosts are real and the governess is a rational and credible narrator, while the others believe that the ghosts are hallucinations of the governess and regard the governess as an incredible and mentally abnormal narrator. Also, we could speculate the author s intention on the basis of his life experience and other works of Henry James. This essay will examine the reliability of the governess on the basis of the text and interpret Henry James s intention on the basis of other sources. The critics from psychanalytic perspective claim that the existence of ghosts is the governess s hysterical delusion. The ghost is the projection of governess s own sexual hysteria, which resulted from the conflict between native romantic impulses and idealistic innocence required by Victorian society (Renner). The inexperienced governess encounters the handsome, bold, young gentleman with charming ways with women (James, 4) and she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Conjuring. Witchcraft. No matter what they chose to call it, witchcraft was an evil association with the devil and the use of magic or the alleged use of magic, in the eyes of the Puritans of Salem, Massachusetts. And it was the alleged part that caused the Salem Witchcraft Trials tragedy of 1692. The Puritans believed the signs of witchcraft were apparent if only people knew what to look for. Witches had physical signs, called witches marks, such as moles or other skin anomalies (Linder ¶15). Anyone in league with the devil was also believed to be unable to recite the Lord s Prayer, and George Burroughs cast serious doubt on the validity of the trials when he recited the Lord s Prayer flawlessly as he stood upon the gallows (Netzley 215). Sadly, it was not enough to spare his life. The magistrates also believed spectral evidence was an acceptable means of identifying a witch. Spectral evidence was testimony that relied on the accusers, who allegedly saw the accused witch s specter loose in Salem, causing pain and trouble to the good people in town (Benson, Brannen and Valentine 1362). Spectral evidence was impossible to prove or disprove, since only the afflicted people could see the specters (Benson, Brannen and Valentine 1362). Much has been learned about the brain, but much more needs to be researched. One thing that has been studied a great deal is memory and how it works. All human beings use their memory to learn. Information that has been learned was processed in the short term memory and stored in the long term memory. We retrieve the information through recall, recognition, and encoding specificity. Recall is a simple retrieval of information. Recognition involves a set of pre generated stimuli presented to learners for a decision or judgment (Driscoll, 2000). For example, when one hears the words Oh say can you see... one automatically recognizes it as the opening line to the national anthem. Hypothesis: It is hypothesised that when the temperature at which the chemical reaction takes place is increased, the speed of the reaction will also increase, whereas when the temperature at which the chemical reaction takes place is decreased, the speed of the reaction will decrease. This hypothesis correlates to the investigation because when the Hydrochloric acid is at a higher temperature, the solution that is mixed with it, in this case Sodium Thiosulphate, the rate at which the reaction occurs will be much faster. Whereas, when the temperature of the Hydrochloric acid is decreased, the Sodium Thiosulphate solution that will be mixed in will result in the rate at which the reaction occurs being much slower. The former religion of the Romans was polytheism based and could not give comfort to the destitute. The many Gods and Goddesses did not lend themselves to the idea of equality and salvation. Christianity proclaimed the equality of all people. People were considered equal in Christianity and the Christian God was the unquestioned authority. The new religion rejected the existing social system of slavery, and thus gave rise to hope of liberation from oppression of the most desperate people. The religion called for the reconstruction of the world. It gave hope to slaves, hope for freedom to common people through a simple and accessible way through the adoption of the doctrine of Christ (Adair, 2008, pp.18 19). Dualism In Zoot Suit Zoot Suit s use of duality and politicization of characters and ideologies is a key component of the Sleepy Lagoon murder and the disempowerment of Mexican Americans in the 1940s, which lead to the rise of the Chicano movement. Through the two main characters that the audience see political matters highlighted and duality of humanity. Henry Reyna and El Pachuco are granted three dimensional personalities in Zoot Suit through writing techniques and artistic aspects, which serve to represent the disempowerment of the Mexican American community in the 1940s. On a most basic level, Henry represents the common archetype of the nice guy . He loves his mother, he s planning to join the army, he seems to be able to date whoever he wants but chooses to have a sweet but equally simple girlfriend. The audience, at the beginning of the film, feels a generic brand of compassion for Henry, the kind one feels when a character and their struggles are simplified. The archetype of the average nice guy is one that is generally only written for white male characters in American media. The audience sees Henry s love for his mother from the beginning, in the scene when he gives her extra money he s made in order to cover expenses. In that same scene, Henry s father mentions Henry s desire to join the army. This is immediately followed by Henry s parents forgetting who he is taking to the dance, the implication being that he has the ability to date nearly any girl in his school and that he ... • 48. Hunting Vs Hunting Essay Misconceptions Vs. Reality of Hunting Many people have misconstrued ideas about what it means to be a hunter. Hunting is one of the best way to bring a family together like no other activity. The misconception that hunting is a just an individualized activity couldn t be more wrong. When hunting with your family, you experience an adventure with your loved ones that brings you all closer together like no other way. The truths of what it means to be a hunter are hunters care about the animals they hunt and the environment they hunt in more than the average person. Hunting is a great way to bring the family together unlike any other activity. Also, hunting brings people closer to nature in way unlike any other. And it s this connection with nature that keeps hunters humbled by the environment they are in and the animals that live in it. Hunters know more about the animals they hunt and the environment they live in better than anyone else. Before a hunter ventures off to pursue the animal they are hunting, weeks of pre season scouting are required in order to pattern the animal to get in close enough to make a kill. The misconception that hunters have to just drive around and watch for an animal then go kill it is completely absurd. Hunters spending days even weeks looking for and observing the animals they are attempting to harvest, and coming up with a game plan on how they are going to harvest them. Biologists, the Game and Fish Departments, and many other wildlife agency s depend on hunters reports for accurate data in measuring the health of big game herds. When a hunter receives their tag in the mail, it usually will come with a blood testing kit. The Game and Fish started issuing these kits a few years ago in an attempt to track where the brucellosis disease was spreading to. Now, the Game and Fish could have just tranquilized a few hundred elk from each area surrounding the state of Wyoming over the years. But ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
