2. FILMING –
TECHNICAL
• Technical – using the cameras and any technical equipment; this
could be how you did your lip sync, used the green screen, dealt
with problems with batteries, etc
• I found filming my video quite easy, i already knew how to use the
camera quite well so i knew how to change all my settings for
example the ISO and aperture. I had two batteries so when one
ran out during filming i was able to change and carry on, this was a
good idea to take two as if i hadn't i would have had to cut my
shooting short and plan to film another day. The tripod was easy to
set up and change high and angle for my different shot, i am glad i
booked out a tripod as it made my shots look stable and
professional. I also had a slight problem as whilst i was filming my
SD card became full, but luckily i was at my house and i was bale
to save the footage on to my laptop and delete it from the SD card
so i was able to film more. I had a few problems with my lip-
syncing due to the fact the girl singing felt uncomfortable doing it,
so i didn't get as much as i wanted too. I was able to re shoot
another day and she was able to do a bit more and felt more
comfortable as a friend sat with her.
3. FILMING –
LOGISTICAL
• Logistical – did your locations work? Did you have any
access problems? Did it rain?
• My locations went to plan, as i was filming at my own
home i didn't think i was going to have any problems,
which i didn't. It was easy to film as i could do what i want
and felt more comfortable. The weather was nice so it
helped with creating good lighting in the room and making
my shots look brighter. I aslo had to book out the studio
for shooting so extra clips, this was fine and easy to do,
there is good lighting set up in there which helps and
every thing went to plan while in there too.
4. FILMING –
PERSONNEL
• Personnel – how were your cast/crew? Did anyone let you
down? How did you manage this?
• My performer was on time to my day shoot and was really
nice to work with, she was open to doing everything i asked,
in terms of clothing to wear and how to do her hair and
make up to fir how i wanted it to look in my video. She was
a bit giggly which was hard sometimes to try and shoot a
serious clip, but i made it work and had just shorter clips
and made sure i got what i needed. So i asked her to meet
up the next week at college in the studio to shoot a few
more clips just of her lip-syncing, she wasn't too
comfortable in doing the lip sync so a friend sat with her but
slightly out of the shot, this made it easier for her to do it
and helped me get a few good shots. She didn't let me
down at all with filming, she showed up on time and when i
needed her and was happy to help in anyway she could.
5. FILMING –
PLANNING
• Planning – did your planning help? Do you think it could
have worked better? How?
• My planning was really helpful for me when it came to
shooting my video, sticking to my shot list really help me in
ensuring that i had enough footage. It help me make sure i
also had a variety of different shots and that i would be
able to make the fit together and all have the same type of
style and all look like they fit in well with my style of video. I
did have to go slightly against my plan as my performer did
struggle with lip syncing, so i did the same same shots as i
originally wanted to just with out the lip sync. I was able
make this work luckily. I fell i should have anticipated more
that my performer wouldn't want to lip-sync as much and
had more of a back up plan as i feel it could have done
with being in there for the type of video i wanted to make.
6. FILMING –
NEXT STEPS
• Next steps – do you need to re-film? Film more? Have
you changed your video? How/why?
• I don't need to re-film now, but i did have to do another
shoot in the studio earlier but i realised soon enough it
didn't effect my work. I have changed my video slightly
from my planning, nothing too noticeable. It is still the
same style and ideas as my planning just less lip syncing
and more closeup shots of her face, I do feel this worked
well and has worked overall in my video. If i were to re
film my video again i would make sure i had a performer
who was willing to do a little more and be slightly better
and her performing.
7. EDITING –
FILE MANAGEMENT
These are my folders i have used to make it easy
to find all my work and keep my desktop clear
and organised. I have my folder named music
video, in this i have 4 folders, these are the main
power points, clips for my music video, templates
of sheets i have filled in and then the videos i
have made. In my powerpoint folder i just have 4
main powerpoint i have been doing. In my music
video clips folder i have 2 more folders in this,
one of just the normal clips of my performer and
then another of her lip-syncing, i did this so when
i put them in to premier it was easier to find which
clips i wanted to use. Then my template folder is
just 5 templates, and lastly i have my folder for
my videos, this is a folder which has all my made
premier videos in, like the practice pieces and my
final one. Having my folders laid out like this has
really help me and saved me time in trying to find
thing on a messy desktop.
8. EDITING –
SETTING UP PREMIERE

what you called it, where you saved it
When setting up premier, you will start by
opening up the application and clicking open
a new project. It will them come up asking
you to give this file a name which i named
mine ‘music video - Selena Gomez’. It will
then take u to this list of what settings were
used, you go down this list and chose DSLR
1080p 25. After you click this the new file
opens and is empty and ready for you to use
and ipmort your audio and visual clips.
9. EDITING –
IMPORTING FOOTAGE
Show how you imported your footage, your file set
up in Premiere and how you have organised your
different docs [video, audio, etc]
Importing the footage is really easy to do. For me i
like everything to be in folders so it is easy to use
and to find, so this was help full when importing
my clips and you can drag them in the the area in
the folders, if not it just comes down as a massive
list of clips which can be messy and confusing.
But as i had mine in two folders of normal clips
and lip sync clips it was easy when it can to
finding what i wanted to put in the video, it was
also easy to keep the area tidy and easy to use
when adding in the effect as that is were you drag
these in to as-well. I also made a file for these as i
started to get a few more clips ad it started to
become messy. This is also where you import your
audio clips too as-well.
10. EDITING –
WORKSPACE
Show and describe the Premiere Pro
workspace – preview window, bins, timeline,
playback window, tool bar, audio levels, etc

side of the

can pick which
parts to drag in
to my video.
In the right had
corner this is were
the preview of my
video which is
being put together
is shown, this is
where you see
everything together,
for example the
videos, audio and
all effects.
The bottom left of the screen is where all the
audio, effects and video files are stored, this is
were they are dragged to and kept to be
previewed before picking. It is also where you
can pick to use other effects from the effects area
in it. In this part these are loads of effects for
example the ones that i have used are the fades
for both the audio and the videos.
In the bottom right hand side
this is were the editing strip is,
this is were all of the clips i want
to use are shown, it is where i
edit my footage by putting it
where i was on the time line and
also what helps to create the
final video.
The top bar at the top is the usual, file edit.. ect buttons. The file one is the one i have used the
most due to the fact you can also import the files through that way which i first started to do
before realising it was faster to drag it in. I also used this when it came to exporting my video.
11. EDITING – ASSEMBLY EDIT
Show how you put together your basic sequence in the order you want it –
previewing clips, dragging to the timeline, trimming/cutting, etc
If you have a lip sync, pay special attention to showing how you synchronised the
footage with the audio track
When assembling my clips together i first added to the track to the timeline, i cut
this to the length i wanted it to be at. I then started to look thought my clips and pic
the best ones and part that i wanted to be in it, i did this first by writing a list of my
footage so it was easier to find which clips i wanted this way. I then would drag
them in and trim them to the lenght i want. I would try to fit them to like hit with the
beats of the song, for example there is a few were she will do a dramatic look in to
the camera and i have made it so as she looks it is in time with the song. It is easy
to do this and as well for the lip syncing as you can listen to the song and keep
moving the clip slightly until it is correct. You can also look at the sound waves on
the audio clip and this can also help you see when bits start and stop.
12. EDITING – REFINEMENT
Show and explain how you have refined and improved your initial
sequence edit
When refining my video i first finished the whole thing and then went
back and re watched it, i watched for anything that stood out and
looked as if it didn't fit. When i picked out these clips i either changed
them, or made them fit in time with the song better. I had to do a lot of
shuffling about with some clips and i also changed some of the speeds
of some cliips, making some fasted and slower, this really helped add
some variety to my video and made it look more interesting. Another
good effect i added was the reverse speed, this was really effective
espeshialy with clips when my performer moves her hair, this makes it
look diffrent and interesting and helps to keep the viewer engaged.
13. EDITING –
COLOUR CORRECTION/SFX

process – use staged screenshots to show each part of
the process and the effect. Explain why you chose to do
this
For my video i want it in black and white. I felt this would
be effective for the style of video i am shooting and make
my performer look more professional and look like she
could be the celebrity. Turning it black and white also
helps make the colours look more similar, for example it
helps to not make every different shot look a different
colour. To get it black and white i added an adjustment
layer and dragged it over my entire video. This then turned
the whole thing black and white. But still some bit were
very different in terms of brightness, so i was able to crop
out small parts of the adjustment layer and was able to
edit these separately and change the contrast and
brightness to make it look more similar to the rest of the
video. I also added in a few different overlays in the more
obvious clip transitions i feel this helps to make the

EXPORT
Show how you exported your completed project, show which settings
you have used and explain your choice of file name and where you
have saved it
Exporting the finished video was simple, you click on File - export -
media and the click this. It then comes up with a page were you have
to select to areas. You first change the format to H.264 and then the
preset to Youtube HD 1080. This just makes the file compatible with
the right areas and then works when uploading it on to youtube. You
also then chose your file name and which obviously would be some
thing relevant for example ‘music video - Selena Gomez’ for what i
used.
