2. FILMING
• Technical
I used my phone to film my music video, all the footage filmed on my phone turned out
well and fit perfect with my video idea. However I also got my friend to film on her
phone this caused a problem as the final footage is not high quality so it could not be
used in my video as it did not match with the rest of the video.
• Logistical
My location did work well as it was quiet helping me to get easy footage, this also made
it easy to get around. The weather was dry however is was cold as it was filmed during
the night.
• Personnel
None of my crew let me down as we planned a day where everyone was free so that
everyone could make it to be involved with the video.
• Planning
My planning did not help even though it helped me to get my ideas down it did not help
me through the filming as I did not stick to my planning plan. If I had stuck to the plan I
would have done better as my work would have been on time and I would not have had
to rush.
• Next Step
I did not change my idea or had to re film anything.
3. FILMING –
PRODUCTION STILLS
This location is where most of my
video was filmed. This is a local
village near to mine.
I chose to film here as every year
there is a fair that happens here
and my friends all live here so I
thought it would be a good idea to
film here as it is getting the work
done but it is also fun for me and
my friends.
There was no trouble with access
as it is close and easy for us all to
get to.
I did not need to get permission to
film here as it is a public place
and is open for everyone.
4. This location was also used in one
of my shots.
I only use this place for one of my
shots but I thought I would include it
as I filmed there.
This location is where I filmed the
sunset for the start of my music
video.
It is a shopping park not far from
my village.
I did not need permission to film
here as it is a public place so they
were fine with me filming.
5. EDITING
• Record your edit progress, decisions, problems, etc. in
this section
• Include screenshots with annotations, statements, etc.
• Try to explain how you worked and justify why you chose
to work the way you did.
• Follow the structure and what to include on each slide as
this is necessary for evidence for assessment
6. This is a screenshot of how I slowed all of my clips down.
With this I selected the clip I wanted to slow down and right clicked this brought up the big list
you can see on the screenshot. Near the middle of this list you have a ‘speed/duration’ button
which is what you need to select.
You can then change the speed to the speed you need, the lower the number the slower the
video.
With my song being a slow song I thought that it would link well with the video if the video was
slow too so all the clips in my music I have slowed down to help it fit well with my music.
7. This screenshot is establishment shot as it helps to set the scene of where my music
video is filmed. It is a pan shot of the location. This helps to set the scene for the audience
so that they can see where the video is and what the theme will be.
You can see that my video is going to include a bright colour scheme as you can see the
fair is colourful which suggests the video will be fun and exciting for the audience.
8. This is the footage in my music video where is it bad and stands out from the rest of the
video. This screenshot shows how bad and fuzzy the footage is.
This is the only thing I would change about my music video as I think it ruins my music
video as it brings the quality from the rest of the video down.
9. With this footage I had to scale is so that it would fit to the screen as when I uploaded the
clip onto Premiere Pro it had a black box around the clip stopping it from being full size. This
created a issue as it stretched the footage out and lowered the quality of the clip.
Originally I filmed this video portrait so this was another issue I had as I have had to flip it
round to landscape so that it would fit into the video.
The quality I filmed the video was good but from having to stretch it out it made it have bad
quality and look grainy.
10. I used this video twice in the music video as I did not film enough footage at the fair and with
my video being set mainly at the fair, this is a problem as I did not have enough clips so I
reused the clips but reversed it to make it look a little bit different and still fill some space with
fair videos.
11. EDITING –
FILE MANAGEMENT
Screenshot and annotate where you have saved your work
and how you have organised your footage so you know
where it is – this will also include your audio track for your
video and any other images, found footage, etc.
12. This is where I transferred all my videos to onto my computer.
I filmed my videos on my phone so I had to put them all onto my computer. I plugged my
phone into my computer and it came up straight away and is very quick and easy to export
my videos from my phone to my computer.
13. This is a screenshot of where I keep all of
my documents.
When I save my work I save it in my
document folder which is located at the
bottom of my computer so it gives me easy
access to the document and get to it easy.
You can see all of my planning and different
things needed for the project is all sorted
into this folder on my computer.
My audio is also saved in this folder. My
audio is the grey picture with the music
video, with the rest of the work being
PowerPoints the audio stands out from the
rest.
14. EDITING –
SETTING UP PREMIERE
Screenshot and annotate how you have set up a new
Premiere Pro project – indicate what you called it, where you
saved it
You should also show how you set up your timeline,
indicating the video settings used [e.g. DSLR 1080p 25]
15. Firstly I start off by opening Premire Pro from the search bar in the top right corner to open it
up.
Then I select file in the top left-hand corner and select “New” then ‘Project’ this will open a
empty file for you to start a new project in. You can also change the name of the project once
you have created it.
16. EDITING –
IMPORTING FOOTAGE
Show how you imported your footage, your file set up in
Premiere and how you have organised your different docs
[video, audio, etc.]
17. When you want import videos to Premire you
have to select the project section then double
click onto the black background which will then
brings up the second screenshot which lets you
select which imported video you would like to put
onto your timeline.
All of the imported videos will be in file which is
found in the photo app on the computer. They are
organized into oldest to newest so the more
recent videos imported will be at the bottom of
the videos.
18. EDITING –
REFINEMENT
Show and explain how you have refined and improved your
initial sequence edit
The original sound was 4 minutes long and I knew
I wouldn’t get that much footage so I thought it
would be best to cut the video down and make it
sorter to be able to make a good music video.
The top sound is the full audio from start to finish,
you can hear that it all sounds the same for a long
time.
With the second one you can see it is 2 minutes
and 39 seconds because the audio repeats the
same music for a while we are able to cut some of
this out to make the audio shorter and easy to work
with.
19. EDITING –
EXPORT
Show how you exported your completed project, show which
settings you have used and explain your choice of file name
and where you have saved it
20. To export the music video, the first thing you want
to do is select file from the top bar and down to
export and from the arrow at the side select
media.
You will then this screen pop up which you can
see on the second screenshot.
You have to make sure that the format for the
video is H.264, make sure ”Render at Maximum
Depth” is selected so that your video will export
at a high quality and that “Use Maximum Render
Quality” is selected to also make sure it is up to a
high quality.
Editor's Notes
Where appropriate add stills from when you were filming, annotate where necessary
