how Sunderland offers cultural opportunities for anyone who wants to come to Sunderland

informative video to showcase cultural experiences in Sunderland and this is what the fire
station does and this venue is also going to be a part of the video that I am going to make.
This research will help me with my ideas because I understand what the fire station is and
what the venue includes and this also helps me on how I am going to shoot my video by
using different shots and angles in a creative way to capture the audiences' attention and to
show people what the fire station looks like.

Crown work studios is a new film studio development in Sunderland, extensive civil engineering
works have since been undertaken within the site as part of the development of the Northern Spire

will meet the growing demands of the industry and enhance the economic infrastructure of

creative industries in the UK. This research is relevant to the project because it's showing the
cultural experiences that is going to happen in Sunderland and what people can do at Sunderland.
This research will also help with ideas because it shows what you could take your videos about,
which will also help on how with making your 90 second information video because Crown Works
studio focuses on the Sunderland.
8. Google maps to show the venues

These are screenshots and Google images of the venues that I had to go to take

10. Quotes and information
"The Fire Station is a vibrant, mid-scale performance venue in the heart
of Sunderland – housing a brand new the state-of-the-art Auditorium and
The Engine Room bar & bistro.''
''The Winter Gardens and Museum is a Wide-ranging venue including industrial/social
history, geology, glass/pottery, art and archaeology.''
''The Empire Theatre is a Grand, domed Edwardian theatre staging touring musicals,
comedy, pantomime, music and dance shows.‘’
Analysis of the quotes:
I have taken research quotes from people who have talked about the different venues
that I will be going to for the brief, the reason for doing this is to see people opinions
on what they think about Sunderland’s venues and the cultural experiences that
happen here. This research is relevant because the brief is about making an
informative video about cultural experiences in Sunderland and these quotes are all
about venues that are going to be In the video. This will help towards my ideas
because this tells you what those venues are about, I can add this information in my
videos.
11. Where people can study if they want to learn
more about creative industries
The University of Sunderland is a public research university located in Sunderland in the Northeast
of England. ''Become part of the creative industries by studying a creative degree course. We offer
a range of courses here at the University of Sunderland, with subjects including Art and Design,
English, Journalism and Communications, Film and Media and Performance.'' This research is
relevant because the brief is to show cultural experiences in Sunderland and the University of
Sunderland is where you can learn creative industries subjects, the venues that are going to be
included in the videos have events that are related to the creative industries. This helps with my
ideas and my videos because it is informing the cultural experiences in Sunderland.
13. These are some of the questions that I had asked for the survey that I made for the film the city
brief, I asked some basic questions to get to know the individuals. Asking these questions helps
me understand what they like and whereabouts they go around Sunderland also their interests
gives me an understanding about what kind of things they like which helps me with the brief and
how to make my video. Only some people know about events that go on in Sunderland this will
help for the video that I am going to make by promoting what kind of events go on in Sunderland
so that the audience does know.
14. These are some more question that I asked the audience to get a better understanding about what
they like and what they already know about what happens in Sunderland. Looking at the answers I got
back about the creative industry it shows that a lot of people enjoy things that happen in events at
Sunderland this will help when I shoot my video and take places of those venues that do that, to show
my audience about where they could go to see things like that such as the fire station to see live music.
Looking at the answers from the survey I got an understanding that people know about venues that
showcase events although there were some answers who didn’t know about the fires station which
helps for when I take my videos to show the venues that people might not know about.
15. These answers represent the data in pie charts which helps me understand the percentage of the audiences' responses.
If I look at the pie charts which I had asked about events it shows that only a small percentage hasn’t been to events
which shows that some of the audience might not know about events that go on in Sunderland, so this helps when I am
making the promotional video because the aim of the video is to show what goes on in Sunderland which will show
people where you could go to see events this will also help with people who haven't been to an event but would like to.
On the other pie charts the data about venues that the video is going to include shows that a higher percentage have
been to the winter gardens while nobody has been to seventeen nineteen this shows that people won't know what
seventeen nineteen is and the venues that they do so this helps when making the video so that the audience know
what the place is so that they could go to the events. Although a lot of the percentage show that people have been to
the winters gardens that is still a small percentage that haven't so when making the video there are going to be people
who already know the places, but this is also for audiences' who haven't been or that don’t live in Sunderland .
17. England vs Scotland video analysis
https://www.facebook.com/EnglandTeam/videos/2914166435
91263/?extid=NS-UNK-UNK-UNK-IOS_GK0T-GK1C
This video was made for the England vs Scotland match that was hosted in the Stadium Of Light, I chose this video because it shows a
good example of promoting venues that happen in Sunderland. I took some screenshots to show what I like about the video, for
example the video showing a close-up of the Stadium of Light and including long shots and tracking shots and its also edited in an
interesting way where it shows the colours of Sunderland while also having drawings on the video. This video is also effective
because it’s a fast-paced video showing what you need to know which keeps the audiences engaged. This also helps me on how to
make my video by using the different camera shots such as close-up and long shots also establishing shots to capture the cultural
experiences in Sunderland.
For the brief I am also going to be analysing promotional videos which showcase Sunderland and the venues and events that
are included. The reason for doing this is to understand the techniques that have been used in the videos, the codes and
conventions and how these videos engage with the audience which will help me for when I make my own video showing the
cultural experiences in Sunderland.
19. The research that I have done has helped me with the work I have needed to do for the brief. For the
beginning of my research, I looked at different aspects of Sunderland that involve cultural experiences
doing this helped me towards the work for the film the city brief. I also needed to do audience
research this provided me deeper knowledge of the target audience and what their expectations are
for the brief which helps me understand the successful ways to accomplish the work I need to do. I
also analysed existing products this helps me research the ways I could make my video by using
different camera shot to engage the audience's attention. Overall, doing research helps me plan my
work and it gives me ideas on how I could make my work better so that I show the cultural experiences
that Sunderland has.
