2. Client-Sunderland Culture
On this slide will be the script for the audio recording of the pitch and on the
next slide will be the image that appears when discussing the client.
My client for this project is Sunderland Culture who run the bright lights northern talent
festival. Sunderland Culture brings together some of Sunderland’s most used cultural assets
and activities to realise the ambition of a city brimming with creative potential. They deliver
programs across the city including in the National Glass Centre and Northern Gallery for
Contemporary Art, Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, Arts Centre Washington and The
Fire Station. With a mission to improve life for everyone in Sunderland through
culture. Sunderland culture is an organisation that celebrates Sunderland and its people from
art to music dance and theatre Sunderland culture support not only the venues but events and
the people who attend. With links to the local university, they aim to inspire a new generation
of the arts and provide opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them. With
a mission to "improve life for everyone in Sunderland through culture" it means that everyone
even groups of people who may have been cast out before are welcomed and encouraged to
get into the arts and join a community of like-minded people in their local area.
4. AUDIENCE-16-25-year-olds
On this slide will be the script for the audio recording of the pitch and on the next
slide will be the image that appears when discussing the audience.
My audience as set by the client has a target age
demographic of 16-25yearolds through my research
I have created audience profile and researched their
psychographics and demographics in order to be
able to successfully engage my audience my
including topics that they have a pre-existing
interest in meaning that I will already have a pre-
established audience before I even make the
documentary.
6. Ideas and inspiration-The Story of Molly Moselle
On this slide will be the script for the audio recording of the pitch and on the next slide will be
the image that appears when discussing my idea.
My idea for a documentary is to delve deeper into the disappearance
of molly Moselle. The disappearance of Molly Moselle was a crime
that police never solved. She was working as a stage manager on the
dancing years playing at the Sunderland Empire when one day, she
went out to post a letter and never returned. It is now said that Molly
is now one of the three ghosts that roam in the Sunderland Empire
dubbed one of the most haunted theatres in Britain with actors
refusing to go back due to their paranormal experiences.

9. Evaluation
Link to Pitch:(22) pitch b2 - YouTube
Upon presenting my pitch I was happy with the feedback I received. Everyone who was present for the
pitch said they had watched documentaries before and watched/listened to true crime content. When I
asked them what they did or did not like about true crime they said that they enjoy when the story being
told is purely factual and not embellished for viewers. They also enjoyed reconstructions and the narrative
however don’t like when sometimes true crime content glorifies criminals. My documentary will be purely
factual featuring reconstructions however due to the case never being solved there is no possibility of
glorifying the criminal. When I asked if there was anything I could do to improve the pitch to make it fit the
brief or suit the audience better I received positive feedback about my idea such as, "It fits the brief from
the client and the wants of an audience whilst linking to Sunderland," and "It would engage me as a
viewer". I was very happy with the feedback as it means that my idea will work for an audience and the
client whilst having Sunderland at the heart of it.
