AUDIO VISUAL
Organsied video files
These are all screenshots which show the folders
of all the videos on premiere pro and OneDrive, I
had organised them into bins and folders, this
helps me organise and help me find them easily
without getting confused, which will help editing
run more smoothly.
Music video-draft 1
Using the materials that I had gotten from
the production work we had done; I had
started to make my music video which is
needed for the visual piece. The first thing I
had done was to import my videos into
premiere pro, I had already prepared by
looking through all the videos and selecting
which ones I want to use and then making a
folder in my one-drive.
After doing that I had started to edit, I had
added the first video into the timeline and
the track, the video which I had used first
was the walk-in shot. This was the main
shot, and this would help me for when I
must sync up the rest of the videos. I also
added in another clip which was of Leah I
wanted to do this because as the song runs,
she sings first. Also, I had added in markers
because this is a visual guide for me to
know where to add the videos in so that
they sync up.
I didn’t like how the size of the
videos looked as it didn't match the
ratio of what a music video looks
like, and I wanted to make it look
more realistic, so I added in a
cinematic border. To do this I added
in an adjustment layer to my
timeline and then moved it along so
that it goes on top of all the videos,
this is also used so that if you add
any effects to that layer, it will
ensure that all videos are consistent,
and it will save time rather than
adding it on every separate video. I
then went on effects and selected
the crop tool and dragged it on the
adjustment layer and changed the
percentage of the ratio. This makes
the music video look better as it
gives it more of a cinematic look.

For my audio-visual piece, I had used premiere pro to edit my music, I had started off by importing my
video clips which I had already organised in a folder in my one drive I also had the bands song.
First, I had included the song in the timeline and then locked that just so that it didn’t move and what I
did was include my first clip which was the walk on synced it up to where they walked on what had
helped me was using the markers as it kept me organised and I knew where to exactly move the clip to,
I made sure that it was locked to as I didn’t want it to move out of place. The clip that I had added in
was my starting clip and it would help me on how to put my other clips in while making sure that they
are synced up. To also make sure that my clips were all in sync I had expanded the waveform tracks to
see if the graphics matched up together.
The next clip I added in was of the main singer, so I had used the markers and added it in to where she
started singing, making sure it was synced up I played it and I had to mute the audio from when the
videos had been recorded and had locked that clip in to place because the clip had been synced up.
After doing that It had gotten easier, I just needed to know which clips would work best, my storyboard
that I had made helped make the editing smoother and this first draft was practicing with syncing up
clips. I had added all the clips I need to add making sure that everything was synced up and after that I
had used the razor tool and clipped off extra footage I didn’t need, I had completed a full music video
and after rendering the video I had exported it and added it to my YouTube account.

audience survey feedback
After finishing my first edit what I needed to do was to receive audience feedback
which will help me know if I need to make any improvements towards the video.
The feedback that I had gotten back shows that I need to add in typography and
ending credits which was very useful and helped me for when I make another
draft of the music video. Doing audience surveys has helped me understand my
strengths and weaknesses and the areas I can improve on with my products. All
the comments I had received back were very detailed and descriptive, the
comments are from my target audience this helps me understand their
preferences which is important because these products are marketed towards
them.
For improvements I will be including typography in because I didn’t do that for
this draft as I was more focused on making sure all the clips synced up together
and the edit ran smoothly. What I need to include is the bands names, title of
song and end credits this is so my audience understands the context on what the
music video is about, and the end credits is used because this is the rules of
convention and what needs to be added to a music video to give credit to
everyone that was apart of it. Overall, for the first draft it worked out well.
After completing my first draft, I still needed to make improvements as it was missing text, so my
next draft was including those in as they are important as the audience needs to know the context
of the music video.
At the beginning I had included the band's name and their song's name and added effects. I first
selected the text tool which added graphics on my timeline, and I wrote 'Pretty Velvet' using their
official text font called 'sultan café' which I found on Da font. After doing that I went on windows
and then essential graphics which had opened a tab of tools to help edit my text. Once I had the
menu shown on my screen and selected the text that I wanted to edit a clicked on the fonts and
selected the one that I had downloaded, I had clicked on the select mouse and repositioned
where the text seemed suitable.
After that I needed to add a stroke to the text so still using the essential graphics panel I went on
appearance and ticked the fill box, this is so the effect that I am trying to do will work successfully,
then moving on to the stroke tool I had set it to the value of 8 and now this will include a thin
stroke on my text. I now had to change this into a gradient, so I clicked on the drop box and
selected linear gradient from the drop box and made the left side purple and the right side white,
the reason for choosing these colours is because it makes the text stand out from the video and
both colours contrast with each other because it has depth and drama. I had copied the effects
and done the exact same to the other text which was the title 'dirty soul' but had chosen a
different front from da font and I was finished with the main text.
I then moved on to the end credit of the music video which included all the information on who
worked on the filming and who was a part of the filming, to do this I used a template and
premiere pro, this is important to add as this is used to acknowledge and show recognition to
everyone.

2 audience survey
feedback
I had made another survey for another music video draft that I had
completed after I had worked on the improvements that my
audience had given, the feedback that I had gotten back was very
useful and my audience had given descriptive points on what I had
done well with the improvements I had done. It's important to
receive feedback from my target audience because the products I
am making is for them so understanding what they like and don’t
like with advertising my products more efficiently and helps me
improve my performance.
For improvements I will be making sure that the clips aren't so long
and that they are varied which will help not make the music video
boring and will also add so more vibrancy. What else I will be doing
is making sure that the placement of the text is correct.

Podcast cover draft 1
For my post-production work using the
materials I have gotten
from production, I had started to make
a podcast cover on photoshop. The first
thing that I had done was I choose a
photograph that was taken when
we had done the photoshoot alongside
the podcast which was with Leah and
Tom, I was already prepared
beforehand and had made a contact
sheet to highlight which images I will be
using.
After getting the image that I used I
had opened it on a separate tab in
photoshop and used the magnetic lasso
tool to cut around the both this allowed
me to traced around them easily and
precisely without any mistakes
happening. I also didn’t want any of the
background so this work well to select
whatever you want.
On a separate tab in photoshop I had
selected a blank canvas although I had to
use the size of what a podcast cover
normally is this is just so that it makes it
more realistic and it look like an actual
podcast cover.
I had then used the bucket tool and
selected a grey colour for the background
of the cover, the reason for doing this is
because grey is a very plain colour and
helps make the other colours and design
stand out.
As for the text every podcast needs a title
so I had added one just so that is makes
it more realistic. I had used the text tool
and typed what I wanted to add and used
the effects tool, although I was going to
trace over the text anyway this is just to
add more detail with the edit.

Podcast cover draft 1 – audience
feedback
I had done a google forms survey so that I can
get some feedback on my first draft, I had been
given very useful and detailed information on
what to do to make the podcast cover look
better. The responses mostly included adding
more detail and information which Is something
that I will be doing for my next draft and then I
will be making another survey so that they can
review the other one I will be doing.
Doing the audience feedback is very important for
when I make my products as this gives me more of an
insight on their opinions and what my audience like
about the products, and what can be improved. It
helps me learn about my strengths and weaknesses
and will help the post -production run more
smoothly, knowing that the products are good.
Podcast cover draft 1 - evaluation
For this being my first draft, I think it went well and it is
also still in development so this is not the final product,
on the previous slide I had shown that I had gotten
audience feedback which shows the improvements that
I need to make. The responses were well and I clearly
understood where my audience was coming from
involving the cover, that it had lacked detail and
information which is important for a podcast cover as
you need to know the context for what the podcast is
about.
So, I do like the style of it but to show my skills that I
have learned in photoshop I will be adding more detail
which I had thought by drawing out music notes as this
will show what the theme of the podcast is about. I will
also be adding in relevant information which includes
the band's name pretty velvet and the names of the
members who were involved in the podcast which were
Leah and Tom. Doing this will help make the cover seem
more realistic as I am using materials that podcast cover
have.
Screenshots of material I will be using for
the next podcast cover draft
Podcast cover draft 2
This is another draft of the podcast cover
I had made improvements this time
which was needed. I had also made a
survey for the first draft which my
audience had responded back and gave
me detailed feedback which had helped a
lot on how I could improve.
I had started by tracing over the word
'presents' which I had not done in the
previous draft, this makes it look better as
the text now has matching styles. This
also makes the text stand out and
contrast with the background.
I then went on the website which had
free stock images in good quality and had
downloaded an image of musical notes. I
had opened them on a separate tab in
photoshop and had used the magnetic
lasso tool.
And I had traced over them dragged them
onto the podcast cover so I can use the
brush tool to outline over them to make
them into drawings. I had done this just so
that they look more better and bolder
which helps contrast with the background.
This also matches with the context and
theme of the podcast. I didn’t want them all
together so I spaced them all evenly around
cover and I like how it turned out it looks
good especially them being around the
main photograph of Leah and Tom.
This is a much-improved draft and I had
done what my audience had gave me
feedback on, although this is not the
finished product.
I will be making another survey so that my
audience can give me some more feedback.

audience feedback
After finishing my final draft for my podcast cover, I had done another audience survey to receive feedback for the
improvements have made the comments that I had gotten back shows that the editing I have done has worked
out well which makes my podcast cover more realistic as I have added in elements which are needed to make it
more informative and detailed. Doing the survey has helped me a lot because it helps me understand what my
audience's preferences are about my work and what could be added to make it look better, this helps contribute
the effectiveness of my products that I am developing and improves my skills.

TYPOGRAPHY CHOICE AND
PREVIEW
TOOLS USED
I have completed another draft for the podcast cover
this time I have made some adjustments to give it a
different look, I started off by editing the text this
time I had changed it to Pretty Velvets main font.
What I like about this is that it looks better than the
other text I had because the other one was to plain
and didn't suit the cover so changing it makes the
style look better and makes it consistent which is
what Is needed when you make any print work.
Doings this creates a sense of balance and shows
the brand across the material I am promoting; it
shows a specific mood which is shown on the cover,
and it helps the target audience understand the
context of what it is about, as well it captures the
audience attention by communicating a message
about what I am trying to do which is to promote
artists.
Moving on to the edit itself I thought it was good as It shows
appropriate elements which is needed for a podcast cover,
although I thought it would be nice to see it in a different style.
So, I started off by using the paint bucket tool and choosing
a dark purple colour. The reasoning for choosing purple is
because it enhances the mood and tone of the edit, it’s a
dramatic colour and aesthetically appealing because its outlines
all the details of the edit
While making it standout which helps grab an audience's
attention. I used the blending modes and chose 'screen' this
changes the look of the edit without changing the original image
and it’s a good way to modify the style of my edit. I then went on
the adjustments layer to add some brightness/contrast and hue
this enhances the visual appeal of the image because
It helps shows the
Audience the important
Details of the cover.

edit draft 1
Editing process
This is my first draft edit that I had made for the
promotional poster that I need to do for my print
products, I had started off by choosing my image
that I wanted to do which I had already prepared
by making a folder on my one drive which includes
all the photographs I will be using of the band.
I had opened the image on photoshop and the first
thing I needed to do was to edit the image this is
just to enhance the photograph by adjusting
aspects which can help capture the attention of my
target audience for this brief. So, I started off by
adding a layer which will help for when I edit as it
won't permanently change the original image. I
selected the adjustment layer which is used
to change the colour and tone, the tool had
different filters to change the way your image had
looked and I selected the cinematic this makes the
image stand out more and it add more drama
which sets the mood of the image.
When I was happy with the way the
image had looked, I used the
brightness and contrast tool, I did
this to adjust the tone of the image
by moving the slider to increase the
highlights of the image while also
decreasing the values to show some
shadows. I did this because it was
important as I wanted to show all
the details of the image. The colour
balance tool that I had used on the
image was to correct the colours
which adds more dramatic effects to
the edit because I am changing the
way the overall look of all the
colours that are involved in the edit.

1
After completing all the editing stages of the
photograph, I moved onto the typography for the
edit which was important to add to a
poster because it conveys details about what the
poster is about which helps capture audience's
attention.
I had started with the main text needed which was
the band's name I had gotten the text type which
they use for the name and had placed it on the
poster. Although, I didn’t use the normal text I
wanted to make it into a drawing so I traced over
the letters keeping the same colour scheme of the
name. I had done this because this was the main
typography needed so making it into a drawing
enhances the boldness of the text which helps make
it standout more, and contrasts with the colours of
the edited image.
I then moved onto the other typography which was
the title of the song that they had performed when
doing the music video and I wanted to include that
because it was important to add as this is a
promotional poster to promote the upcoming song
which will be released. For 'dirty soul' I had just
made it text as I wanted a variation of different kind
of types of text.
I had gone on dafont to choose a text
type and previewed what it would
look like with the title, after placing it
on the poster I wanted to make it
stand out from the poster so I had
added effects on the text such as drop
shadows and bevel this makes it look
bolder which helps contrast with the
edit. I had done the same for the
other typography which included the
release date, credit to the person who
had taken these images which was lee
so I had added in the social media
account name and included Pretty
Velvet's social media account.

Draft 1
Improvements for Draft 1
I had made some improvements on the band poster from the feedback that I had
received which involved changing the way the typography looks by changing the
style into the Pretty Velvet font. I downloaded the suitable font which is 'Sultan
Café' and then included it on my poster. I like how this has turned out it's a much
better look because it is consistent throughout and it looks more detailed
compared to the other font style.
Photograph edit:
This is another draft that I had for my print products I had used the same band
photograph, but I had experimented with a different technique. I started off by
opening my image on photoshop, then I had duplicated the background layer the
reason for doing this is so that no changes happens to the original image. The
next thing I did was convert my image to black and white to do this I go to image
then adjustments and chose the black and white and kept the same
default settings, this was done for the colour splash technique for the edit. After
doing that I had added a layer mask which was at the bottom of the layer palette
this will help for when I need to paint over the image in colour.
Then I had changed the foreground colour to black and used the brush tool in my
tools palette and selected a small brush which was around the size 30px. The I
needed to paint over the image in the main parts I wanted to add colour so using
a smaller brush will help me with colouring in smaller details without making any
mistakes. The colour splash effect worked out well and it’s a good way to show
experiments and it adds a dramatic effect to the edit, as its selectively colours
certain features of the image changing the way the whole photographs looks.
Text edit:
When I had finished editing the image I moved on the text, and I had included the necessary
information needed which was the bands name, song title, release date and social media and moved
them in a suitable place without covering the image. Then I moved on and added text effects this is to
make the text standout from the image. The effects bevel and emboss add in more shadows and make
the typography bolder, the drop shadow helps the text contrast with the edit.

audience feedback
For my poster products I had made a survey to which my audience chose
which one they prefer, it shows the most of my audience had chosen the
colour splash edit which helps me a lot towards my work because I have a
better understanding about my audience and which products can be used
for my final work. Doings survey throughout my work also helps towards
developing my skills and my performance its effective to understand my
target audience preference as these products are marketed towards
them.
Doing multiple drafts in different techniques helped me for when I needed
to do audience survey, it also helps me develop my photoshop skills using
tools such as the adjustments layer to change the hue/saturation or the
mask tool which is how I had made the colour splash poster.
Pretty velvet poster draft
Pretty velvet poster draft
This is another poster that I had made for the promotional poster products, although this
time I had done an edit of an individual band member as that is what I had planned to do.
The first band member I had chosen to edit was Daniel so I selected the best image in my
folder for when I organised the photographs.
After selected the photograph I had opened it on photoshop and started by editing the
image, so I had added a layer so that no changes happen to the original image. Then I had
went on the tab which is called filter then the stylise option and selected find edges once
this was done it had made my edit into a line drawing, Doing this helps enhance the
details of the images shown making the edit look more dramatic. After doing that I then
added another layer and selected the shape tool and placed a rectangle over the image,
and I then went on the blending modes where it has the different options which changes
the way your edit looks and the way the colours blend on the image. The one that I had
chosen works out well as the dark background contrasts with the bright text and it
includes multicoloured highlights on the guitar, I did this as the blending modes add
amazing effects to make a creatively done edit.
After finishing editing, I moved onto the text which included the name of the band, the
songs name, the release date and the name of the band member. I started off by adding
the main typography which was pretty velvet I had done the same by making it a drawing
as this mixes well with the title of the song which is just normal text. I had the put the
release date opposite of the other text as I didn't want the text to go over the image. The
last text I had done was the band members name which I had typed out every single letter
separately as I wanted to move them differently to each other, the reason for doing this is
because It makes it more creative and it doesn’t go over the main image.
Pretty velvet poster draft-
improved
This is another poster that I had made but using the same techniques as the previous edit
that I had done which was the find edges tool. Although I made some changes which was
using a different blending mode to change the colour of the image as I wanted to see
which edit would fit best and be a final edit. I did like how this colour had looked with the
edit but the problem was it was too dark which made the main edit not visible enough,
that wouldn't work out as well as the image is one of the most important part of the edit.
What would have made it better though Is if I had changed the brightness and contrast a
bit more where everything could be visible, what else could have worked to is making the
blue a bit brighter. I think overall the edit did work out well and I did this to show my
experimentation on what edit looks the best with the techniques and tools I have learned
on photoshop. I will be making a google form survey to see which edit my audience likes
better and that will give me a better understanding on what I could use for one of my final
poster edits.

Pretty velvet poster draft-
improved
Pretty velvet poster draft
This is one of the final drafts that I had done for this edit, but I had made a lot of
improvements by making it look better.
I had included another layer because the image that I have selected is the
background and to turn it into a find edges edit you need to do this as it will
allow me to make it into a line drawing which is shown in the screenshots I have
captured. After doing that In another layer I had added and had used the rectangle
tool and filled it with the colour green and placed it over the image. Using the
blending mode tool, I had chosen green colour scheme with black highlights for
the lines the reason for choosing green is because it's a very versatile colour and
adds depth and the black contrasts well and makes the details of the image stand
out very well. What also makes this edit better than the other two is that you can
see not only the edit but the text. What I had done as well was use the brightness
and contrast tool which helps with the adjustments of the tones.
The next thing that needed to be done was the text, which I had kept the same as
the previous drafts but just added more detail to it, so after typing out the text
and drawing over the bands names I had made a folder this is to keep all the text
together and allows me to adjust the layers all at once which keeps it consistent. I
double clicked on the folder which brings up the text effects and I had bevel and
emboss, stroke and drop shadow, using bevel and emboss creates shading on the
text which gives it more rounded edges and shadows this helps make it look three
dimensional and standout from the background. The stroke layer helps enhance
the way the text looks and contrasts with the background, using the shadow
effects helps make the text look more realistic and gives more depth.

Pretty Velvet poster-
audience feedback
I had done an audience survey towards my promotional
products where I had done a poster of an individual
band member using the techniques find edges on
photoshop. Its shows that the higher percentage of my
audience prefer the find edges green edit which is the
first draft that I had done but works the best as you can
see the illustrated lines better and it’s a much more
dramatic and bolder edit compared to the other one. I
had done more the one to show my experimentation for
this skills but also to get feedback from my audience as
this work is marketed towards them, it improves my
skills and performance when editing as I have received
effective feedback for my products and which one can
be used a final one.
Pretty Velvet poster draft
After finishing the text, I moved on to the main image I wanted to create an
edit with paint splashes so to do this I had selected the paint brush tool from
the toolbar and clicked on the different type of textured brushes which are
splatter brush heads, doing this makes the edit look more realistic. I then went
on the size this was to make the splashes have different sizes to add more
detail. As I wanted to make this a multi-coloured splash effect, I had gone on
the colour picker and selected a range of different kind of colours this just adds
more detail to the edit, it also makes it look more interesting as It stand out
more.
Colours Used
BRUSH USED
This is the colour palette of all the colours I have chosen
for the paint splashes, I had chosen similar colours that
have the same temperature because this helps them
mix and flow nicely. The colours themselves add drama to
the edit because they feature darker, bright colours
against a plain background which makes it contrast better.
These are the three different kind of brush types I had
used they are similar but are different sizes. I had
mentioned when talking about how I had made my edit
that the reason for choosing the brushes is because it
adds more of a realistic effect.
Using textured brushes also include depth and variety
within the digital edits because it can create
different effects and styles which creates a detailed
poster.
Pretty Velvet poster draft
This is another promotional poster that I had made for my products
because I wanted to do individual ones of each band member using
different techniques that I had learned from previous work on
photoshop. I started off by selecting the image I had already organised in
my one drive and opened it on photoshop. Then I had made another
canvas and used the bucket tool and filled it a purple colour and placed
the photograph on, doing this adds more depth to the poster.
After that I had moved on to the text which included all the necessary
information, I started off by adding the name of the band member and I
wanted to make it look like a neon sign. I then clicked on the layer style
for the text and first selected a colour overlay which sets the base colour
of my typography.
On the layer tool I needed to add an inner glow which illuminates the
text to make it look more like a neon style, I selected white and chose
screen for the blend mode and I had to choose source as this will make
the glow show in the middle of the text which will allow the colour to
fade in with towards the edge of the text this allows it to look more like
a realistic neon sign. Still on the inner glow tool I changed the size to 30
pixels and added a contour to the text as this will add texture to the
typography.
The next thing I did was select the outer glow setting to enhance
the illuminance and kept the hue as the same colour, I then needed to
increase the size which helps get rid of the hard edge and I set that to 30
pixels. I had to also alter the opacity of the text to around 50%.
After finishing that I moved on to adding a drop shadow and
changed the blend mode to linear burn. I needed to set the
distance to around 30 pixels and added some shading which
will help lift the texture from the background. After finishing
that I duplicated a drop shadow which helps act for an outer
glow, I then kept the blend mode the same but increased the
size to give it more a bigger glow. I duplicated it again but
changed the colour scheme to give it some effects and this
will help give more of an ambient glow compared to the other
drop shadow layers.
To give it more of a shine effect I selected bevel and emboss
which makes it look more reflective, I increased the size and
depth to about 30 pixels and about 170%. I then changed the
contour style the set the blend for the highlights and shadows
to overlay and switched the colours around that I have used
because it will give a better result.

Pretty Velvet poster draft
I had made another survey for another one of my promotional posters,
this one is of the individual band member, and I had asked feedback on
what they thought was good and what could be improved. The feedback I
had gotten back shows that my audience liked the style of the edit using
the paint splashes, this helps me understand my audience
preferences and what I have done well. It also shows that they enjoy the
typography which is good as I wanted to show my skills that I had
developed.
What could have been done differently is keeping the colours of the
typography consistent and adjusting the way the images looks to make it
standout more, although know that I know it will help me better in
editing because I understand my target audience better, and it will help
me learn more.
Pretty Velvet poster draft
For my promotional products I wanted to make individual
posters of each band member using different techniques and
styles. This poster I had made if of the main singer I started of
by getting the image I wanted to use which I had in a folder on
my one drive, although I only wanted a specific part of the
image as. So, I used the magnetic lasso tool which is the best
tool to precisely trace over what you need select, after doing
that I moved it over to a blank canvas.
To make my poster stand out more I decided to add some colour
on the edit, so I used the gradient tool which creates a blend
between multiple colours, this works well as it blends with the
image and backdrop creating a dramatic style by adding depth
because of the colour and shading.
Pretty Velvet poster draft
The audience survey I had done for this individual promotional poster was done to receive
feedback on what I had done well and what improvements could be made. The responses
show that my audience likes the style and colour scheme chosen which helps because my
poster will help gain audience attention and promote the band which is what the brief is
about. This helps contribute into understanding my target audience as this is marketed to
them and it helps understand their preferences on what an audience would want to see
for promotional products.
Although the edit had turned out good what could have been improved which I now know is
making sure that when I had traced over the image is to make sure that other parts that were
still there needed to be erased properly which I had tried to do, is harder to do without
erasing the main image. Overall, the edit worked out well.
Pretty Velvet poster draft-
Improvement
Editing settings
This is a draft that I had made improvements
for, I had changed the way the image looked
by adding a drop shadow this helps add a
shadow behind the image and gives it a 3D
depth to it making it stand out from the
background. This is much improved and look
more better because it contrasts with the
poster and gives it a more dramatic effect.
For the text I had changed the way it looks
because I thought that the plain white didn’t
suit the poster. So, I had started to add
effects which included adding in a gradient
overlay and I chose a colour darker than the
foreground this is, so the text is clearer and
easier to read. I like how this has turned out
because it stands out more and it contrast
with the poster better making it an overall
better look.
AUDIO
For my promotional products I had to make an audio piece which was a podcast, so after we had recorded the podcast, I had
taken the resources needed and added them into a folder on my one drive so I know where they are and I went on the
editing software called adobe audition which is used to edit audio pieces. My focus first was to fix the audio which was very
quiet, so I went on the effect tab on the top of the software and found the amplify and compression tool which changes the
volume of the audio that has been recorded and had selected a reasonable db. If the audio is too high it could cause clipping
and distortion. For my first draft I think it worked out well as I have development my skills in editing software although there
are still things that need to be added to this podcast such as and intro and outro which I will be doing next.
Podcast edit
For my next draft for the podcast, I had included the improvements that I had mentioned I
would be doing when I did my first draft. Another thing that a podcast needs is an outro and
intro as this sets the mood for what the podcast is about because it enhances the experience
for listeners and engages the target audience.
I went on a website the I have used previously for my work which is called pixabay and it has
copyright free music so I had selected one that sounds that would work for the podcast this is
important as it needs to interest the listeners, I had downloaded the song and imported it on
audition on a separate timeline so I can edit without changing the original audio for the
podcast. I had then used the razor tool which will help me for when I need to clip the intro as I
didn't need the whole song only 20-30 seconds as that is how long an intro should be, I then
placed it after pretty velvet had been introduced.
After that I went through the whole podcast to know if anything else had to be clipped out
such as any long silences or mistakes that had happened, after I had finished that I also had to
place the outro music. I wanted to keep the same song to be consistent and I had moved it
right after the podcast finished. To finish the audio, I went on the effects tool to add in fade in
and fade out where necessary as every multitrack session should have because it makes it run
smoothly from each audio clip. After completing all the editing, I had to export it in the correct
file which was a mp3 and kept it In my podcast folder on one drive so I know where it is
located.
Podcast edit
Podcast edit- improved
I had made some improvements from the feedback I had received from my first
draft, the comments I had gotten back had explained that some parts of my
audio was quiet, I had gone back on adobe audition I then selected a part that I
needed. I then went on the tab I went on amplitude and compression and then
I had chosen the amplify tool which helps increase the decibels of the audio,
this was important as I needed to select a suitable number, so it won't clip or
distort.
After finishing that I moved onto making more improvements for the podcast
because I wanted to show multiple drafts to show my development of the
skills, I had learned which was understanding how to use the tools on adobe
audition. So, for this draft I wanted to include some background music I went
on the website pixabay which includes copyright free music, and I selected a
song which is appropriate and relevant for the podcast I had edited. Then after
doing that I had downloaded it and put it in my one drive so I can import it to
my file. I placed the audio on my timeline underneath the podcast audio, but
because it was too loud you couldn’t hear them speaking so I had to click On
the background music and drag the audio levels down. After finishing the
editing, it has improved my podcast a lot because it makes my podcast more
engaging and interesting, and it helps capture my target audience's attention.
For another draft I had changed the background music to
Pretty Velvets music 'Dirty Soul' and I had added that on to
The timeline when they had started to talk about the song.
This is to show different kind of draft work and it works out
Well because it links to the brief and band. Also adding in
The bands song makes it more relevant to the brief because
I am including something to promote them.
Time Management –
Gnatt chart
I had taken a screenshot of the Gnatt chart that I have this shows my
progress of the project and the process of the products that I have
made. This also shows when I have scheduled to do those tasks and
when I have completed them for the post-production PowerPoint. It
helps show a visual timeline of how long it had taken me to complete
everything, and which order I will be placing them in my PowerPoint,
it shows that I was successful in planning and organising and my time
management is good because I had finished all the tasks before the
deadline.

  • 3. Organsied video files These are all screenshots which show the folders of all the videos on premiere pro and OneDrive, I had organised them into bins and folders, this helps me organise and help me find them easily without getting confused, which will help editing run more smoothly.
  • 4. Music video-draft 1 Using the materials that I had gotten from the production work we had done; I had started to make my music video which is needed for the visual piece. The first thing I had done was to import my videos into premiere pro, I had already prepared by looking through all the videos and selecting which ones I want to use and then making a folder in my one-drive. After doing that I had started to edit, I had added the first video into the timeline and the track, the video which I had used first was the walk-in shot. This was the main shot, and this would help me for when I must sync up the rest of the videos. I also added in another clip which was of Leah I wanted to do this because as the song runs, she sings first. Also, I had added in markers because this is a visual guide for me to know where to add the videos in so that they sync up. I didn’t like how the size of the videos looked as it didn't match the ratio of what a music video looks like, and I wanted to make it look more realistic, so I added in a cinematic border. To do this I added in an adjustment layer to my timeline and then moved it along so that it goes on top of all the videos, this is also used so that if you add any effects to that layer, it will ensure that all videos are consistent, and it will save time rather than adding it on every separate video. I then went on effects and selected the crop tool and dragged it on the adjustment layer and changed the percentage of the ratio. This makes the music video look better as it gives it more of a cinematic look. E D I T I I N G P R O C E S S
  • 5. For my audio-visual piece, I had used premiere pro to edit my music, I had started off by importing my video clips which I had already organised in a folder in my one drive I also had the bands song. First, I had included the song in the timeline and then locked that just so that it didn’t move and what I did was include my first clip which was the walk on synced it up to where they walked on what had helped me was using the markers as it kept me organised and I knew where to exactly move the clip to, I made sure that it was locked to as I didn’t want it to move out of place. The clip that I had added in was my starting clip and it would help me on how to put my other clips in while making sure that they are synced up. To also make sure that my clips were all in sync I had expanded the waveform tracks to see if the graphics matched up together. The next clip I added in was of the main singer, so I had used the markers and added it in to where she started singing, making sure it was synced up I played it and I had to mute the audio from when the videos had been recorded and had locked that clip in to place because the clip had been synced up. After doing that It had gotten easier, I just needed to know which clips would work best, my storyboard that I had made helped make the editing smoother and this first draft was practicing with syncing up clips. I had added all the clips I need to add making sure that everything was synced up and after that I had used the razor tool and clipped off extra footage I didn’t need, I had completed a full music video and after rendering the video I had exported it and added it to my YouTube account. Music video edit - draft 1
  • 6. Music video edit - draft 1 audience survey feedback After finishing my first edit what I needed to do was to receive audience feedback which will help me know if I need to make any improvements towards the video. The feedback that I had gotten back shows that I need to add in typography and ending credits which was very useful and helped me for when I make another draft of the music video. Doing audience surveys has helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses and the areas I can improve on with my products. All the comments I had received back were very detailed and descriptive, the comments are from my target audience this helps me understand their preferences which is important because these products are marketed towards them. For improvements I will be including typography in because I didn’t do that for this draft as I was more focused on making sure all the clips synced up together and the edit ran smoothly. What I need to include is the bands names, title of song and end credits this is so my audience understands the context on what the music video is about, and the end credits is used because this is the rules of convention and what needs to be added to a music video to give credit to everyone that was apart of it. Overall, for the first draft it worked out well.
  • 7. After completing my first draft, I still needed to make improvements as it was missing text, so my next draft was including those in as they are important as the audience needs to know the context of the music video. At the beginning I had included the band's name and their song's name and added effects. I first selected the text tool which added graphics on my timeline, and I wrote 'Pretty Velvet' using their official text font called 'sultan café' which I found on Da font. After doing that I went on windows and then essential graphics which had opened a tab of tools to help edit my text. Once I had the menu shown on my screen and selected the text that I wanted to edit a clicked on the fonts and selected the one that I had downloaded, I had clicked on the select mouse and repositioned where the text seemed suitable. After that I needed to add a stroke to the text so still using the essential graphics panel I went on appearance and ticked the fill box, this is so the effect that I am trying to do will work successfully, then moving on to the stroke tool I had set it to the value of 8 and now this will include a thin stroke on my text. I now had to change this into a gradient, so I clicked on the drop box and selected linear gradient from the drop box and made the left side purple and the right side white, the reason for choosing these colours is because it makes the text stand out from the video and both colours contrast with each other because it has depth and drama. I had copied the effects and done the exact same to the other text which was the title 'dirty soul' but had chosen a different front from da font and I was finished with the main text. I then moved on to the end credit of the music video which included all the information on who worked on the filming and who was a part of the filming, to do this I used a template and premiere pro, this is important to add as this is used to acknowledge and show recognition to everyone. Pretty velvet music video-draft 2
  • 8. Music video edit - draft 2 audience survey feedback I had made another survey for another music video draft that I had completed after I had worked on the improvements that my audience had given, the feedback that I had gotten back was very useful and my audience had given descriptive points on what I had done well with the improvements I had done. It's important to receive feedback from my target audience because the products I am making is for them so understanding what they like and don’t like with advertising my products more efficiently and helps me improve my performance. For improvements I will be making sure that the clips aren't so long and that they are varied which will help not make the music video boring and will also add so more vibrancy. What else I will be doing is making sure that the placement of the text is correct.
  • 10. Podcast cover draft 1 For my post-production work using the materials I have gotten from production, I had started to make a podcast cover on photoshop. The first thing that I had done was I choose a photograph that was taken when we had done the photoshoot alongside the podcast which was with Leah and Tom, I was already prepared beforehand and had made a contact sheet to highlight which images I will be using. After getting the image that I used I had opened it on a separate tab in photoshop and used the magnetic lasso tool to cut around the both this allowed me to traced around them easily and precisely without any mistakes happening. I also didn’t want any of the background so this work well to select whatever you want. On a separate tab in photoshop I had selected a blank canvas although I had to use the size of what a podcast cover normally is this is just so that it makes it more realistic and it look like an actual podcast cover. I had then used the bucket tool and selected a grey colour for the background of the cover, the reason for doing this is because grey is a very plain colour and helps make the other colours and design stand out. As for the text every podcast needs a title so I had added one just so that is makes it more realistic. I had used the text tool and typed what I wanted to add and used the effects tool, although I was going to trace over the text anyway this is just to add more detail with the edit. Tools used
  • 11. Podcast cover draft 1 – audience feedback I had done a google forms survey so that I can get some feedback on my first draft, I had been given very useful and detailed information on what to do to make the podcast cover look better. The responses mostly included adding more detail and information which Is something that I will be doing for my next draft and then I will be making another survey so that they can review the other one I will be doing. Doing the audience feedback is very important for when I make my products as this gives me more of an insight on their opinions and what my audience like about the products, and what can be improved. It helps me learn about my strengths and weaknesses and will help the post -production run more smoothly, knowing that the products are good.
  • 12. Podcast cover draft 1 - evaluation For this being my first draft, I think it went well and it is also still in development so this is not the final product, on the previous slide I had shown that I had gotten audience feedback which shows the improvements that I need to make. The responses were well and I clearly understood where my audience was coming from involving the cover, that it had lacked detail and information which is important for a podcast cover as you need to know the context for what the podcast is about. So, I do like the style of it but to show my skills that I have learned in photoshop I will be adding more detail which I had thought by drawing out music notes as this will show what the theme of the podcast is about. I will also be adding in relevant information which includes the band's name pretty velvet and the names of the members who were involved in the podcast which were Leah and Tom. Doing this will help make the cover seem more realistic as I am using materials that podcast cover have. Screenshots of material I will be using for the next podcast cover draft
  • 13. Podcast cover draft 2 This is another draft of the podcast cover I had made improvements this time which was needed. I had also made a survey for the first draft which my audience had responded back and gave me detailed feedback which had helped a lot on how I could improve. I had started by tracing over the word 'presents' which I had not done in the previous draft, this makes it look better as the text now has matching styles. This also makes the text stand out and contrast with the background. I then went on the website which had free stock images in good quality and had downloaded an image of musical notes. I had opened them on a separate tab in photoshop and had used the magnetic lasso tool. And I had traced over them dragged them onto the podcast cover so I can use the brush tool to outline over them to make them into drawings. I had done this just so that they look more better and bolder which helps contrast with the background. This also matches with the context and theme of the podcast. I didn’t want them all together so I spaced them all evenly around cover and I like how it turned out it looks good especially them being around the main photograph of Leah and Tom. This is a much-improved draft and I had done what my audience had gave me feedback on, although this is not the finished product. I will be making another survey so that my audience can give me some more feedback. Tools used
  • 14. Podcast cover improved- audience feedback After finishing my final draft for my podcast cover, I had done another audience survey to receive feedback for the improvements have made the comments that I had gotten back shows that the editing I have done has worked out well which makes my podcast cover more realistic as I have added in elements which are needed to make it more informative and detailed. Doing the survey has helped me a lot because it helps me understand what my audience's preferences are about my work and what could be added to make it look better, this helps contribute the effectiveness of my products that I am developing and improves my skills.
  • 15. Pretty velvet podcast cover 1.0 TYPOGRAPHY CHOICE AND PREVIEW TOOLS USED I have completed another draft for the podcast cover this time I have made some adjustments to give it a different look, I started off by editing the text this time I had changed it to Pretty Velvets main font. What I like about this is that it looks better than the other text I had because the other one was to plain and didn't suit the cover so changing it makes the style look better and makes it consistent which is what Is needed when you make any print work. Doings this creates a sense of balance and shows the brand across the material I am promoting; it shows a specific mood which is shown on the cover, and it helps the target audience understand the context of what it is about, as well it captures the audience attention by communicating a message about what I am trying to do which is to promote artists. Moving on to the edit itself I thought it was good as It shows appropriate elements which is needed for a podcast cover, although I thought it would be nice to see it in a different style. So, I started off by using the paint bucket tool and choosing a dark purple colour. The reasoning for choosing purple is because it enhances the mood and tone of the edit, it’s a dramatic colour and aesthetically appealing because its outlines all the details of the edit While making it standout which helps grab an audience's attention. I used the blending modes and chose 'screen' this changes the look of the edit without changing the original image and it’s a good way to modify the style of my edit. I then went on the adjustments layer to add some brightness/contrast and hue this enhances the visual appeal of the image because It helps shows the Audience the important Details of the cover.
  • 17. Pretty velvet poster edit draft 1 Editing process This is my first draft edit that I had made for the promotional poster that I need to do for my print products, I had started off by choosing my image that I wanted to do which I had already prepared by making a folder on my one drive which includes all the photographs I will be using of the band. I had opened the image on photoshop and the first thing I needed to do was to edit the image this is just to enhance the photograph by adjusting aspects which can help capture the attention of my target audience for this brief. So, I started off by adding a layer which will help for when I edit as it won't permanently change the original image. I selected the adjustment layer which is used to change the colour and tone, the tool had different filters to change the way your image had looked and I selected the cinematic this makes the image stand out more and it add more drama which sets the mood of the image. When I was happy with the way the image had looked, I used the brightness and contrast tool, I did this to adjust the tone of the image by moving the slider to increase the highlights of the image while also decreasing the values to show some shadows. I did this because it was important as I wanted to show all the details of the image. The colour balance tool that I had used on the image was to correct the colours which adds more dramatic effects to the edit because I am changing the way the overall look of all the colours that are involved in the edit.
  • 18. Pretty velvet poster edit draft 1 After completing all the editing stages of the photograph, I moved onto the typography for the edit which was important to add to a poster because it conveys details about what the poster is about which helps capture audience's attention. I had started with the main text needed which was the band's name I had gotten the text type which they use for the name and had placed it on the poster. Although, I didn’t use the normal text I wanted to make it into a drawing so I traced over the letters keeping the same colour scheme of the name. I had done this because this was the main typography needed so making it into a drawing enhances the boldness of the text which helps make it standout more, and contrasts with the colours of the edited image. I then moved onto the other typography which was the title of the song that they had performed when doing the music video and I wanted to include that because it was important to add as this is a promotional poster to promote the upcoming song which will be released. For 'dirty soul' I had just made it text as I wanted a variation of different kind of types of text. I had gone on dafont to choose a text type and previewed what it would look like with the title, after placing it on the poster I wanted to make it stand out from the poster so I had added effects on the text such as drop shadows and bevel this makes it look bolder which helps contrast with the edit. I had done the same for the other typography which included the release date, credit to the person who had taken these images which was lee so I had added in the social media account name and included Pretty Velvet's social media account. • 19. Pretty velvet poster edit 1 Draft 1 Improvements for Draft 1 I had made some improvements on the band poster from the feedback that I had received which involved changing the way the typography looks by changing the style into the Pretty Velvet font. I downloaded the suitable font which is 'Sultan Café' and then included it on my poster. I like how this has turned out it's a much better look because it is consistent throughout and it looks more detailed compared to the other font style.
  • 20. Photograph edit: This is another draft that I had for my print products I had used the same band photograph, but I had experimented with a different technique. I started off by opening my image on photoshop, then I had duplicated the background layer the reason for doing this is so that no changes happens to the original image. The next thing I did was convert my image to black and white to do this I go to image then adjustments and chose the black and white and kept the same default settings, this was done for the colour splash technique for the edit. After doing that I had added a layer mask which was at the bottom of the layer palette this will help for when I need to paint over the image in colour. Then I had changed the foreground colour to black and used the brush tool in my tools palette and selected a small brush which was around the size 30px. The I needed to paint over the image in the main parts I wanted to add colour so using a smaller brush will help me with colouring in smaller details without making any mistakes. The colour splash effect worked out well and it’s a good way to show experiments and it adds a dramatic effect to the edit, as its selectively colours certain features of the image changing the way the whole photographs looks. Text edit: When I had finished editing the image I moved on the text, and I had included the necessary information needed which was the bands name, song title, release date and social media and moved them in a suitable place without covering the image. Then I moved on and added text effects this is to make the text standout from the image. The effects bevel and emboss add in more shadows and make the typography bolder, the drop shadow helps the text contrast with the edit. Pretty velvet poster edit
  • 22. Pretty velvet poster - audience feedback For my poster products I had made a survey to which my audience chose which one they prefer, it shows the most of my audience had chosen the colour splash edit which helps me a lot towards my work because I have a better understanding about my audience and which products can be used for my final work. Doings survey throughout my work also helps towards developing my skills and my performance its effective to understand my target audience preference as these products are marketed towards them. Doing multiple drafts in different techniques helped me for when I needed to do audience survey, it also helps me develop my photoshop skills using tools such as the adjustments layer to change the hue/saturation or the mask tool which is how I had made the colour splash poster.
  • 24. Pretty velvet poster draft This is another poster that I had made for the promotional poster products, although this time I had done an edit of an individual band member as that is what I had planned to do. The first band member I had chosen to edit was Daniel so I selected the best image in my folder for when I organised the photographs. After selected the photograph I had opened it on photoshop and started by editing the image, so I had added a layer so that no changes happen to the original image. Then I had went on the tab which is called filter then the stylise option and selected find edges once this was done it had made my edit into a line drawing, Doing this helps enhance the details of the images shown making the edit look more dramatic. After doing that I then added another layer and selected the shape tool and placed a rectangle over the image, and I then went on the blending modes where it has the different options which changes the way your edit looks and the way the colours blend on the image. The one that I had chosen works out well as the dark background contrasts with the bright text and it includes multicoloured highlights on the guitar, I did this as the blending modes add amazing effects to make a creatively done edit. After finishing editing, I moved onto the text which included the name of the band, the songs name, the release date and the name of the band member. I started off by adding the main typography which was pretty velvet I had done the same by making it a drawing as this mixes well with the title of the song which is just normal text. I had the put the release date opposite of the other text as I didn't want the text to go over the image. The last text I had done was the band members name which I had typed out every single letter separately as I wanted to move them differently to each other, the reason for doing this is because It makes it more creative and it doesn’t go over the main image.

  • 26. This is another poster that I had made but using the same techniques as the previous edit that I had done which was the find edges tool. Although I made some changes which was using a different blending mode to change the colour of the image as I wanted to see which edit would fit best and be a final edit. I did like how this colour had looked with the edit but the problem was it was too dark which made the main edit not visible enough, that wouldn't work out as well as the image is one of the most important part of the edit. What would have made it better though Is if I had changed the brightness and contrast a bit more where everything could be visible, what else could have worked to is making the blue a bit brighter. I think overall the edit did work out well and I did this to show my experimentation on what edit looks the best with the techniques and tools I have learned on photoshop. I will be making a google form survey to see which edit my audience likes better and that will give me a better understanding on what I could use for one of my final poster edits. • 29. Pretty velvet poster draft This is one of the final drafts that I had done for this edit, but I had made a lot of improvements by making it look better. I had included another layer because the image that I have selected is the background and to turn it into a find edges edit you need to do this as it will allow me to make it into a line drawing which is shown in the screenshots I have captured. After doing that In another layer I had added and had used the rectangle tool and filled it with the colour green and placed it over the image. Using the blending mode tool, I had chosen green colour scheme with black highlights for the lines the reason for choosing green is because it's a very versatile colour and adds depth and the black contrasts well and makes the details of the image stand out very well. What also makes this edit better than the other two is that you can see not only the edit but the text. What I had done as well was use the brightness and contrast tool which helps with the adjustments of the tones. The next thing that needed to be done was the text, which I had kept the same as the previous drafts but just added more detail to it, so after typing out the text and drawing over the bands names I had made a folder this is to keep all the text together and allows me to adjust the layers all at once which keeps it consistent. I double clicked on the folder which brings up the text effects and I had bevel and emboss, stroke and drop shadow, using bevel and emboss creates shading on the text which gives it more rounded edges and shadows this helps make it look three dimensional and standout from the background. The stroke layer helps enhance the way the text looks and contrasts with the background, using the shadow effects helps make the text look more realistic and gives more depth.

  • 32. Pretty Velvet poster- audience feedback I had done an audience survey towards my promotional products where I had done a poster of an individual band member using the techniques find edges on photoshop. Its shows that the higher percentage of my audience prefer the find edges green edit which is the first draft that I had done but works the best as you can see the illustrated lines better and it’s a much more dramatic and bolder edit compared to the other one. I had done more the one to show my experimentation for this skills but also to get feedback from my audience as this work is marketed towards them, it improves my skills and performance when editing as I have received effective feedback for my products and which one can be used a final one.
  • 33. Pretty Velvet poster draft After finishing the text, I moved on to the main image I wanted to create an edit with paint splashes so to do this I had selected the paint brush tool from the toolbar and clicked on the different type of textured brushes which are splatter brush heads, doing this makes the edit look more realistic. I then went on the size this was to make the splashes have different sizes to add more detail. As I wanted to make this a multi-coloured splash effect, I had gone on the colour picker and selected a range of different kind of colours this just adds more detail to the edit, it also makes it look more interesting as It stand out more. Colours Used BRUSH USED This is the colour palette of all the colours I have chosen for the paint splashes, I had chosen similar colours that have the same temperature because this helps them mix and flow nicely. The colours themselves add drama to the edit because they feature darker, bright colours against a plain background which makes it contrast better. These are the three different kind of brush types I had used they are similar but are different sizes. I had mentioned when talking about how I had made my edit that the reason for choosing the brushes is because it adds more of a realistic effect. Using textured brushes also include depth and variety within the digital edits because it can create different effects and styles which creates a detailed poster.
  • 34. Pretty Velvet poster draft This is another promotional poster that I had made for my products because I wanted to do individual ones of each band member using different techniques that I had learned from previous work on photoshop. I started off by selecting the image I had already organised in my one drive and opened it on photoshop. Then I had made another canvas and used the bucket tool and filled it a purple colour and placed the photograph on, doing this adds more depth to the poster. After that I had moved on to the text which included all the necessary information, I started off by adding the name of the band member and I wanted to make it look like a neon sign. I then clicked on the layer style for the text and first selected a colour overlay which sets the base colour of my typography. On the layer tool I needed to add an inner glow which illuminates the text to make it look more like a neon style, I selected white and chose screen for the blend mode and I had to choose source as this will make the glow show in the middle of the text which will allow the colour to fade in with towards the edge of the text this allows it to look more like a realistic neon sign. Still on the inner glow tool I changed the size to 30 pixels and added a contour to the text as this will add texture to the typography. The next thing I did was select the outer glow setting to enhance the illuminance and kept the hue as the same colour, I then needed to increase the size which helps get rid of the hard edge and I set that to 30 pixels. I had to also alter the opacity of the text to around 50%. After finishing that I moved on to adding a drop shadow and changed the blend mode to linear burn. I needed to set the distance to around 30 pixels and added some shading which will help lift the texture from the background. After finishing that I duplicated a drop shadow which helps act for an outer glow, I then kept the blend mode the same but increased the size to give it more a bigger glow. I duplicated it again but changed the colour scheme to give it some effects and this will help give more of an ambient glow compared to the other drop shadow layers. To give it more of a shine effect I selected bevel and emboss which makes it look more reflective, I increased the size and depth to about 30 pixels and about 170%. I then changed the contour style the set the blend for the highlights and shadows to overlay and switched the colours around that I have used because it will give a better result. TOOLS USED

  • 36. Pretty Velvet poster draft I had made another survey for another one of my promotional posters, this one is of the individual band member, and I had asked feedback on what they thought was good and what could be improved. The feedback I had gotten back shows that my audience liked the style of the edit using the paint splashes, this helps me understand my audience preferences and what I have done well. It also shows that they enjoy the typography which is good as I wanted to show my skills that I had developed. What could have been done differently is keeping the colours of the typography consistent and adjusting the way the images looks to make it standout more, although know that I know it will help me better in editing because I understand my target audience better, and it will help me learn more.
  • 37. Pretty Velvet poster draft For my promotional products I wanted to make individual posters of each band member using different techniques and styles. This poster I had made if of the main singer I started of by getting the image I wanted to use which I had in a folder on my one drive, although I only wanted a specific part of the image as. So, I used the magnetic lasso tool which is the best tool to precisely trace over what you need select, after doing that I moved it over to a blank canvas. To make my poster stand out more I decided to add some colour on the edit, so I used the gradient tool which creates a blend between multiple colours, this works well as it blends with the image and backdrop creating a dramatic style by adding depth because of the colour and shading.
  • 38. Pretty Velvet poster draft The audience survey I had done for this individual promotional poster was done to receive feedback on what I had done well and what improvements could be made. The responses show that my audience likes the style and colour scheme chosen which helps because my poster will help gain audience attention and promote the band which is what the brief is about. This helps contribute into understanding my target audience as this is marketed to them and it helps understand their preferences on what an audience would want to see for promotional products. Although the edit had turned out good what could have been improved which I now know is making sure that when I had traced over the image is to make sure that other parts that were still there needed to be erased properly which I had tried to do, is harder to do without erasing the main image. Overall, the edit worked out well.
  • 39. Pretty Velvet poster draft- Improvement Editing settings This is a draft that I had made improvements for, I had changed the way the image looked by adding a drop shadow this helps add a shadow behind the image and gives it a 3D depth to it making it stand out from the background. This is much improved and look more better because it contrasts with the poster and gives it a more dramatic effect. For the text I had changed the way it looks because I thought that the plain white didn’t suit the poster. So, I had started to add effects which included adding in a gradient overlay and I chose a colour darker than the foreground this is, so the text is clearer and easier to read. I like how this has turned out because it stands out more and it contrast with the poster better making it an overall better look.
  • 40. AUDIO
  • 41. For my promotional products I had to make an audio piece which was a podcast, so after we had recorded the podcast, I had taken the resources needed and added them into a folder on my one drive so I know where they are and I went on the editing software called adobe audition which is used to edit audio pieces. My focus first was to fix the audio which was very quiet, so I went on the effect tab on the top of the software and found the amplify and compression tool which changes the volume of the audio that has been recorded and had selected a reasonable db. If the audio is too high it could cause clipping and distortion. For my first draft I think it worked out well as I have development my skills in editing software although there are still things that need to be added to this podcast such as and intro and outro which I will be doing next. Podcast edit
  • 42. For my next draft for the podcast, I had included the improvements that I had mentioned I would be doing when I did my first draft. Another thing that a podcast needs is an outro and intro as this sets the mood for what the podcast is about because it enhances the experience for listeners and engages the target audience. I went on a website the I have used previously for my work which is called pixabay and it has copyright free music so I had selected one that sounds that would work for the podcast this is important as it needs to interest the listeners, I had downloaded the song and imported it on audition on a separate timeline so I can edit without changing the original audio for the podcast. I had then used the razor tool which will help me for when I need to clip the intro as I didn't need the whole song only 20-30 seconds as that is how long an intro should be, I then placed it after pretty velvet had been introduced. After that I went through the whole podcast to know if anything else had to be clipped out such as any long silences or mistakes that had happened, after I had finished that I also had to place the outro music. I wanted to keep the same song to be consistent and I had moved it right after the podcast finished. To finish the audio, I went on the effects tool to add in fade in and fade out where necessary as every multitrack session should have because it makes it run smoothly from each audio clip. After completing all the editing, I had to export it in the correct file which was a mp3 and kept it In my podcast folder on one drive so I know where it is located. Podcast edit
  • 43. Podcast edit- improved I had made some improvements from the feedback I had received from my first draft, the comments I had gotten back had explained that some parts of my audio was quiet, I had gone back on adobe audition I then selected a part that I needed. I then went on the tab I went on amplitude and compression and then I had chosen the amplify tool which helps increase the decibels of the audio, this was important as I needed to select a suitable number, so it won't clip or distort. After finishing that I moved onto making more improvements for the podcast because I wanted to show multiple drafts to show my development of the skills, I had learned which was understanding how to use the tools on adobe audition. So, for this draft I wanted to include some background music I went on the website pixabay which includes copyright free music, and I selected a song which is appropriate and relevant for the podcast I had edited. Then after doing that I had downloaded it and put it in my one drive so I can import it to my file. I placed the audio on my timeline underneath the podcast audio, but because it was too loud you couldn’t hear them speaking so I had to click On the background music and drag the audio levels down. After finishing the editing, it has improved my podcast a lot because it makes my podcast more engaging and interesting, and it helps capture my target audience's attention. For another draft I had changed the background music to Pretty Velvets music 'Dirty Soul' and I had added that on to The timeline when they had started to talk about the song. This is to show different kind of draft work and it works out Well because it links to the brief and band. Also adding in The bands song makes it more relevant to the brief because I am including something to promote them.
  • 44. Time Management – Gnatt chart I had taken a screenshot of the Gnatt chart that I have this shows my progress of the project and the process of the products that I have made. This also shows when I have scheduled to do those tasks and when I have completed them for the post-production PowerPoint. It helps show a visual timeline of how long it had taken me to complete everything, and which order I will be placing them in my PowerPoint, it shows that I was successful in planning and organising and my time management is good because I had finished all the tasks before the deadline.
