Population Control Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of population control can be a challenging task, requiring a
delicate balance between presenting factual information and navigating the ethical
considerations associated with such a sensitive subject. The complexity arises from the need to
delve into various aspects, including demographic trends, environmental impacts, socio-
economic factors, and the ethical implications of implementing population control measures.
Firstly, extensive research is essential to gather accurate and up-to-date information on global
population trends, regional variations, and historical perspectives. Analyzing statistical data and
understanding the demographic transition theory becomes crucial in providing a comprehensive
overview.
Discussing the environmental impact of population growth involves exploring issues such as
resource depletion, deforestation, and climate change. Balancing these discussions with an
understanding of cultural, social, and economic factors adds layers of complexity to the essay.
The writer must tread carefully to avoid oversimplification or neglecting the multifaceted nature
of the topic.
Ethical considerations are inherent in any discussion about population control. Addressing the
potential consequences of policies such as family planning, sterilization, or incentivized birth
control programs requires a nuanced approach. The writer must navigate through diverse cultural
perspectives and ethical frameworks to present a well-rounded view.
Crafting a coherent and persuasive argument involves synthesizing information from various
sources while maintaining a clear and logical flow. The essay should not only inform the reader
but also engage them in critical thinking about the implications of different population control
measures.
Moreover, addressing counterarguments and acknowledging the limitations of certain strategies
adds depth to the essay. Striking a balance between presenting a stance and acknowledging
opposing views is crucial for a well-rounded discussion.
In conclusion, writing an essay on population control demands a meticulous approach that
combines thorough research, ethical consideration, and effective argumentation. The writer must
navigate through a myriad of interconnected factors, presenting a nuanced view that
acknowledges the complexity of the topic. Achieving this balance is essential for creating an
essay that not only informs but also stimulates thoughtful reflection.

Persuasive Essay On Sexual Education
Many people believe that sex education is a taboo topic but it is far from that it is a
topic that is very important and impactful to one s life and it plays a huge step in
how children will grow up. A child is an adult when they can understand about
sexual education and how they can fully protect themselves against it. I believe
that an adult that understand this are prepare to protect them and their love ones.
Because sometimes parents underestimate the importance of it, and because
religion makes teaching it inaccurately. Signs such as a child having the
knowledge of contraceptives and how sex is an act of love is signs of a child
blossoming to a young adult with far more knowledge in sexual education than
their previous self. I believe that is something as important as this should be taught
in school. The paradigm of adulthood is sex and sexual education is important to
anybody who participate in sex but, not everybody participate in sex. Some
celebrate celibacy it may also be called abstinence This is when you don t participate
in the act of sex. This is the only way to not get an sexually transmitted disease. In
celibacy there is an 100% success rate (Crawford, C. (n.d.). The Pros and Cons of
Celibacy). Condoms only second to celibacy has a 98% success rate the other 2
percent are the chance that the condoms misfail and they don t protect you. The
98% doesn t calculate human error in the equation , the number may be in the mid
80 s if the instruction are not followed exactly (Parenthood, P. (n.d.). What Is the
Effectiveness of Condoms? Retrieved October 17, 2017). Such things like way the
male puts it on or even small things like temperature can affect the longevity and
usefulness of condoms. Regardless if participante if celibacy you still need the
knowledge of sexual education. Even if is a topic that is controversial it is a topic
that we have to bring to light because it s something every person needs to know.
Such diseases such as aids, hiv, and any diseases in a sexually transmitted disease
(std) can be deadly and even if doesn t kill you it can greatly affect your life. There is
even laws in place that if you have a sexual relationship with a person with no
knowledge of your disease you
Ice Cream Sundae
Introduction
ATTENTION GETTER: Can you describe the perfect cure for a blazing hot summer
day? Upon hearing the phrase so sinfully delicious, what sensations tend to stir
within your body? Throughout America, a common response typically emerges: I
scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Introduce Self: Hi, my name is Maria Papadopoulos, and with summer rapidly
approaching, there proves no greater treat than indulging in a home made ice cream
sundae.
THESIS: In fact, by following three simple steps, one can concoct the perfect ice
cream sundae.
Main Point One: First of all, one must decide upon a base, a flavor that will
accentuate the delightful taste of this treat.
Main Point Two: Secondly, the smothering of a rich... Show more content on

TRANSITION: Upon pouring a rich sauce over the ice cream base, one can then
enjoy embellishing the sundae at the very top.
III. As the finishing touches to the creation of an ice cream sundae, an individual
must emphasize the extravagance of such a dessert through the application of tasty
toppings.
A. Part of the beauty of a sundae lies in the notion of its having no restraint, for
embellishment options remain practically endless.
1. With its soft, dreamy peaks, whipped cream provides one with a fluffy effect.
2. At the same time, other toppings such as crushed oreos, sprinkles, nuts, and bright
red maraschino cherries together complete the perfect ice cream sundae.
B. Although it seems as if an ice cream sundae emerges as rather costly with its
various toppings and other ingredients, a home made sundae proves far less
expensive than one from an actual ice cream store.
1. I would like you to listen to this figure from a USA Today article in July of 2001.
The price of milk fat, which exists as the prime component of ice cream, has
increased by nearly seventy percent!
2. Surely, even we can relate to this huge price increase here in Champaign Urbana,
for a cup of plain ice cream smaller than the size of my palm costs around two dollars
at the Union.
3. For this very reason, it actually proves wise to create an ice cream sundae to one s

Trinity College Exam Hall Classical
Classical architecture is a language that speaks to us with antiquity. The Exam Hall,
once Theatre, on the campus of Trinity College Dublin can be viewed as a neo
classical building, built during the Georgian era. Neo classical architecture is the
revival of Greek and Roman classicism that took place in the eighteenth and
nineteenth centuries. This revival of architecture as James Adams, a famous English
architect said, was ready to seize with some degree of success, the beautiful spirit of
antiquity, which is quintessentially seen in the Exam Hall. The exterior of the Exam
Hall displays classical semblances of the Roman Corinthian Orderwhile the interior is

In comparing the Exam Hall to renowned neo classical buildings we can deduce
that we are rightful in describing Trinity College Dublin s Exam Hall as being
classical . Chamber s classical style shined in much of his work, specifically the exam
hall. Trinity Colleges Exam Hall can be described as classical because it is built
following the guidelines of Corinthian Order. During the period of classical
architecture the Greeks founded the original three orders Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian
different classical styles of building that followed certain rules and mathematical
ratios. The Romans adopted these orders and made them their own. Roman
Corinthian Order is the style of the Exam Hall. The most distinctive element is the
columns, which support an entablature. The Exam Halls columns contain smooth
unfluted shafts made from Portland Stone, a highly sought after stone at the time.
The column capital is ornate as all classical capitals are. The capital is decorated
with acanthus leaves and small volutes. There is also a fleuron in the center of the
abacus, which lie atop the column capital. The capitals are also made of Portland
stone. The entablature, being held up by the columns, contains three discrete
elements that are classical in architecture. The Exam Hall exemplifies all three of
these elements. The architrave and frieze are found to be smooth while the cornice
contains dentils,
Planet of the Apes Essay
Planet of the Apes
When Planet of the Apes opened in theaters, few people knew what to expect. To
most, the idea of a movie with the premise of a planet full of intelligent apes went
against everything they had been taught. The initial attraction was the superb cast,
spearheaded by Charlton Heston who portrays Taylor, an astronaut who crashes onto
the planet. Heston was joined by many popular actors and actress such as, Roddy
McDowell as Cornelius, Maurice Evans as Dr. Zaius and Kim Hunter as Zira.
Though the cast may have been the initial draw, the content is what has made the
movie Planet of the Apes a classic that will continue to be enjoyed for generations to
come.

To us, having one individual controlling both seems not only preposterous, but also
dangerous. The American mind immediately concludes that a system such as this will
lead to stagnation in science, and close mindedness in religion.
In Planet of the Apes this stagnation does occur. When a young upstart scientist
named Cornelius tries to attack the religiously based view of life in his society he is
brought up on charges of heresy. Cornelius merely attempted to state that he had
found evidence that apes had evolved from man. Defender of the faith Dr. Zaius then
quickly ended the hearings and threatened Cornelius with charges of hearsay. This is
a direct link to our own past. Charles Darwin challenged religions view on the
origins of life in the 1800 s, and frighteningly similar things occurred to him.
This is what Planet of the Apes attempts to do, and accomplishes so thoroughly. It
mirrors things that have happened in our own world, yet portrays them in a way that
makes humanity s own shortcomings more palatable. Yet, there are two ways of
interpreting the lessons the film teaches. On one level, Planet of the Apes blatantly
warns individuals not to repeat the past. While on another level, the director could be
interpreted to be stating subtly that we did not learn from our past and are therefore
doomed to repeat it. These interpretations wholly depend on the individual seeing the
film.

In the information age, accounting period shorten the spatial distance between the
enterprise and the entity. At the same time, network technology provides the
possibility of the financial management to understand financial position and business
performance. Therefore, in this circumstance, accounting period is a week or a
month, however, it could not be shorter because the business of some enterprises
have periodicity and continuity. If the division of accounting cycle is too small, it is
difficult to reflect the various business position and evaluate the business of
enterprise and the development in the future. Quality of accounting information
includes reliability, relativity, timeliness and some other features, and it directly

the improving of accounting information quality.

aspects is accounting measurement that generally utilizes the historical cost to
measure. However, due to accounting informatization, the measurement is gradually
developing a new mode of cost based and combination with market value. Under this

The Day Of The Kitchen
When Sheamus walked into the classroom several weeks later, he realized that
everyone was acting strangely, especially Ms. McMahon. Sheamus, she asked
sweetly, Would you mind doing something very important for me? Okay, Sheamus
replied. What is it? I need you to go down to the kitchen and see if the cooks need
any help, Ms. McMahon said. But, Sheamus protested, The cooks don t like us. Don
t worry about that, Ms. McMahon pointed out dismissively. They really need help,
she insisted. Whatever you say, Ms. McMahon, Sheamus responded with a shrug. He
disappeared through the door, heading for the kitchen. Shawn waited a few seconds
and then stood up on his chair. He looked around and exclaimed, Alright guys,...

Ms. McMahon promptly pulled him down so that he wouldn t hurt himself. A
short while later, Sheamus reentered the classroom. The cooks weren t down there,
Ms. McMahon, he began to explain. He suddenly took note of the decorations
haphazardly set up across the room. What s going on here? he asked suspiciously.
You didn t forget, did you? Punk questioned. It s your birthday. Happy birthday!
the class cried joyously. Of course I didn t forget, Sheamus retorted, grinning
happily. Just wasn t expecting this, that s all. Well, since we didn t get to jump out
and yell surprise , Shawn said, Maybe we could bring out the radio again. He turned
and looked hopefully at the teacher. Fine, Ms. McMahon sighed, sounding defeated.
You may use the radio. With a collective cheer, the children dragged the radio out of
its place in the closet and commenced the party.

Some time afterwards, the bell rang for recess and the children scrambled outside
into the snow. At Sheamus s request, it was quickly decided that they would have an
all out snowball war. Teams were hastily selected and bases speedily built. The small
Kindergarten armies squatted behind monstrous mounds of snow and secretively
plotted war strategies. Finally, the time came to strike. Everyone rushed out onto the

The Self Esteem Of Adolescent Females Through Delving
Into...
The thoughts and feelings we hold about ourselves involves self esteem (Myers,
Willse, Villalba, 2011). Challenging boundaries, discovering our beliefs and values,
and exploring who we are as people starts in adolescence (Arnett, 2013). Usually
personality and self esteem conflict is often challenged at an increased rate in
females in the midst of this period of transition (McNeely Blanchard, 2010). By
definition we are designing a group proposal to develop and expand the self esteemin
adolescent females through delving into and reconnoitering the numerous facets of
one s identityand educating and incorporating new abilities in the course of
development. This proposal will deliver contextual material of group counseling
and self esteem. A framework of the prospective group program and analysis of the
details of the group will also be discussed. How the group will be conducted in an
ethical manner will be discussed as well as closing reports.
The Presenting Issue
A couple years after adolescents reach their teen years, they will have encountered
various life events that have affected their self esteem both negatively and
positively. There are two components that incorporate self esteem such as
effectiveness or capability and self worth (Young, 2009). As stated by Young (2009),
effectiveness is related to an individual s confidence that they can accomplish several
activities in varying circumstances, and self dignity, is more a world wide
experiential feeling that one is
Plar (Prior Learning Assessment)
Introduction
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) allow students to receive
educational credit for informal learning experiences. To what extent does PLAR
provide an incentive for students to enrol in adult learning programs, whether on
campus or off campus? Although this is not an easy question to answer, this paper
offers an argument for the benefits of PLAR and why a national initiative promoting
this concept would be valuable. This paper discusses the formation and
implementation of PLAR and its relation to classroom and distance learning, because
many distance education programs offer some form of PLAR.

Further, even when they do get re hired, many do not get support for training, and
they may find that upward mobility in the workplace continues to be problematic.
PLAR provides a process that renews self confidence and provides career focus. This
personal confidence and career focus enables women to identify transferable and
vocational skills and to match these skills with jobs that require them. (Wong, 1997).
Older Workers
The changing demographics in Canada are creating an older workforce. Policies
and initiatives to engage older individuals are, therefore, in demand and need to be
effectively integrated, targeted and adequately resourced. Flexibility in
employment could help Canada address its changing social context as more
boomers reach retirement. Furthermore, there are economic and social gains to be
made by encouraging an extended work life, many of which (including mentorship
and knowledge transfer) will also benefit younger cohorts. As a policy and practice
instrument, PLAR also holds significant possibilities for encouraging experienced
people to pursue encore careers and helping them assess a legacy of learning and
experience. As a legacy planning tool, portfolio can be used creatively as a means
to reflect on one s purpose and accomplishments, and thus help illuminate a plan for
the next stages of life as well as career direction. (Wong, 1997)

Difference Between Multiprogramming And Multiprocessing
1.Problem 1 (20 points): Why is the execution environment of a Java class called a
virtual machine? How does this virtual machine compare to a real machine
running code written in C? Answer: Java files are executed on Java Virtual
Machine which is not a real machine. This is a software application which acts like
a real machine and make a complete environment like heap, memory, stack, CPU
etc virtually. Basically it is layer of software between the OS and the application
program. That s why it is called a Virtual Machine. Virtual Machine will see the
resources which administrator sets in settings e.g. if we set 1 GB for virtual
machine, code will use only this memory even if real machine have more free

5.Problem 5. (20 points) What is the difference between multiprogramming and
multiprocessing? Multiprogramming and multithreading? Answer: Difference
between multiprogramming and multiprocessing: Multiprogramming is the ability
of an operating system to run multiple processes on a single processor machine.
E.g. we are running MS Word, notepad and media player on a single CPU machine
and all the running simultaneously. Multiprocessing is the ability of operating
system to run multiple processes on multiple processors (CPUs). Processes are
divided and assigned to different CPUs to perform the task. So basic difference is
that if OS run multiple processes on single processor, this is multiprogramming and if
multiple processes are running on multiple CPUs is called multiprocessing.
Difference between multiprogramming and multithreading: Multiprogramming is the
ability of an operating system to run multiple processes on a single processor
machine. E.g. we are running MS Word, notepad and media player on a single CPU
machine and all the running simultaneously. Multithreading is the ability of operating
system to run divide and run different parts of a process on a single CPU to obtain
the same but fast result. Different parts of the code which run simultaneously are

Degas is an artist best known for his enchanting and delicate paintings of
ballerinas. Undoubtedly, these works have a high degree of charming appeal, and
rightfully deserve the praise they are given. However, the power of Degas as an
artist extends far beyond the whimsical, enchanting tulle skirts and delicate foot
positions. The paintings of Degas can be viewed as a window into Parisian life
during a time of great change and social disruption. Degas s art brings into question:
What does it mean to be a woman in the Urban Parisof the modern world? Degas,
through his painting, Women on the Terrace of a CafГ©, Evening, depicts urban
modernity through a detached lens to realistically portray the female identification
problem as a result of the deregulation of prostitutionin 19th century Paris. Women
on the Terrace of a CafГ©, Evening, is a small monotype with pastel made in 1877
and shown in the third Impressionist Exhibition. In many ways, this painting can be
viewed as an ode to modern life. Degas sought to capture the authentic experience of
Parisian life in the 1870s. Not only was Degas s subject matter contemporary, but his
choice of medium and artistic techniques was also distinctly modern. The scene that
is captured by Degas shows a group of women sitting outside of a small cafГ© on
the crowded Boulevard Montmartre. While the women are sitting in a clustered
grouping, there is a sense of human alienation and isolation, all existing within a

as $5 billion. Today, sex trafficking is a high tech, globalized,

Triumph Of The Will Propaganda
To accurately judge whether Triumph of the Will was an art or propaganda, we
must first know the proper definition of those two words. The word Propaganda
derives from the name of an organization set up in 1622 by the Roman Catholic

of the Faith (Congregations de Propaganda Fide). Today propaganda is defined as
the spreading of information in support of a cause. It s not so important whether
the information is true or false or if the cause is just or not it s all propaganda. .

While Holden sits to watch Phoebe ride the carrousel, he shares, I was sort of
afraid she d fall off the goddamn horse but I didn t say anything or do anything.
The thing with kids is, if they want to grab for the gold ring, you have to let them
do it, and not say anything. If they fall off, they fall off, but it s bad if you say
anything to them (232). The carrousel represents childhood. Phoebe going around
and around is a never ending cycle, like Holden s wish to keep childhood forever.
However, he accepts that Phoebe will have to grow up and enter adulthood when
he chooses not say anything as she grabs for the golden ring, even if she will fall.
Falling, much like in the field of rye, shows maturing, what Holden was originally
against. Change is also evident in Holden when he reflects on how he sort of miss
everybody (234). Holden expressed pessimistic opinions of people in the book
causing him to be lonely and depressed. However, in the end, he states he misses
everyone, even Maurice, a man who robbed him. He wouldn t miss someone he
disliked and therefore holds a more favorable opinion of people
The Importance Of Listening In Early Childhood Education
The pedagogy of listening is one that is closely intertwined with early childhood
education (ECE) and, within this context, it is acknowledged as being more than
the word itself implies. Listening in an early childhood setting is not merely to
hear what a child says and act on it, rather, it is to open yourself to different
perspectives and be willing to not only act on but also adopt new ways of thinking
(Davies, 2014). To truly use this as an effective pedagogyis to turn the act of listening
into an intentional and meaningful interaction (MacNaugton Williams, 2010). In
doing so, relationships you are forming with everyone that you interact with be they
two feet tall and in nappies or fully grown and in uniform can only be strengthened
as you show them the respect and reciprocity that is needed to achieve meaningful
bonds (Gonzalez Mena Widmeyer Eyer, 2018).
It is through listening that the Graduating Teacher Standards (GTS) relevant to
personal values and relationships can be met and thoroughly explored. GTS 6a, for
example, requires teachers to recognise how different values and beliefs impact
learning (Education Council New Zealand / Matatu Aotearoa (ECNZ), 2015).
Through listening, we as educators are able to experience and gain some
understanding of the diverse backgrounds and interests that are within the centre and
thus plan appropriate experiences that can accommodate everyone or can be altered
to be inclusive. Every encounter with another person is an
Nat King Ray Influence
Ray was majorly inspired by Nat King Cole, but his music was also influenced by
country, jazz, blues, and rhythm artists of the day, including Louis Jordan and
Charles Brown. In the start of Ray s musical career, Ray s style of music was very
similar to these major influences.
Later on Ray drifted from this style and found his own sound/style.
Ray moved to Seattle at the age of 16, a year after his mother, Aretha, had died. In
Seattle Ray met Quincy Jones (American record producer and musician), a friend he
kept for the rest of his life.
In the 1940s Ray performed with the McSon Trio. In 1949, he released his first
single, Confession Blues, with the Maxin Trio. This ranked well on the R B charts.

In 1958, Ray s was really now known for his classic song, I Got a Woman . The song
reached No. 1 on the R B charts. The song reflected an advance in his musical style.
He was no longer a Nat King Cole imitator. His mix of jazz styles, gospel and R B,
created a new musical genre known as soul. In the late 1950s, Ray began making
songs with members of the Modern Jazz Quartet.
The Modern Jazz Quartet was a jazz combo established in 1952 that played music
influenced by classical, cool jazz, blues and bebop.
He has worked with many other artists who have been added, and most of them are
less popular then him. If they are included he should be too. Ray had a special talent,

Who Is B. F. Skinner Operant Conditioning
INFLUENTIAL FIGURES IN PSYCHOLOGY
B.F Skinner
Have you ever thought about what will happen when a child makes a mistake and
gets punished for it? Next time when he tries again to do the same thing he will do
less and less. This is a theory that B.F. Skinner based his operations on, called
operant conditioning. B.F. Skinner was a leading behaviorist, who rejected
introspection and studied how consequences shape behavior. Introspection is the
self observation of one s conscious. Burrhus Frederic Skinner was born on March
20, 1904 in Susquehanna Depot, Pennsylvania. He grew up in an active household,
his mother being a tough and bright housewife and his father a hard working lawyer.
As a child, B.F. Skinner was active, outgoing, and intelligent, he loved school. After
B.F. Skinner successfully graduated from high school, he enrolled at Hamilton
College in New York. Later on, he decided to go back to school this time at Harvard
University to study psychology.
B.F. Skinner had a wife and two daughters. One of the daughters was famous for
being experimented in her father s invention the Skinner box. The air crib, better
known as the Skinner box, is an invention inspired by Skinner s wife. It would keep
the baby from crying by allowing the temperature to be just right for the baby.
B.F. Skinner s main finding in psychology was the operant conditioning theory. Here
the individual is in the course of working in a situation where he or she is retreating

Facilitating Change in Health and Social Care Essay
Introduction
This essay seeks to discuss the factors that facilitate change in health and social
care. This can be achieved by assessing the challenges that the major factors of
change bring using the Care Quality Commission of the Quality Care Commission
for the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust (RUHB). The second task aims to
evaluate contemporary changes being inaugurated in the provision of health and
social care services. In addition to this, a strategy and criteria will be devised in
order to measure these recent changes including how the impact of these changes can
be measured and evaluated.

The NHS Operating Framework introduced by the coalition government sets out the
planning and financial requirements for RUHB in 2012/13 and the basis of their
accountability (DH, 2012). As a result, the 2013 certified that funding for health in
England be frozen for up 2015/16 thereby requiring RUBH to underspend allocated
funding from the government such as putting a 1% cap on pay award. Socially, this
will include factors such as behavior of staff and service users, partnership working,
quality of care, etc. These factors can drive change in diverse ways in the RUHB. For
example, the NICE Guidelines on Behavior Change make recommendations on
individual level behavior interventions that is aimed at changing the behavior that can
be dangerous to the health of staff and service users such as smoking, alcohol abuse,
lack of physical activity, safe sex, etc. (NICE, 2014). Technologically, the introduction
of information communication technology has resulted in faster communication,
appropriate storing and sharing of information and records of service users between
health and social care professionals. As a result of the CQC inspection, the RUHB
revises their health records management policy to more accurately reflect where
information about service user such as fluid intake and output in each ward should
be recorded (CQC Report, 2013)

Roanoke s Episcopalians Summary
Chapter 1: Roanoke s Episcopalians: Speak to the Children of Israel That They Go
forward
Long before the dominance of the Methodists and Baptists in the South, there was
another denomination that held a religious stronghold over the region, namely, the
Church of England. Virginia s Anglicans had a history in the colony that could be
traced back as far as 1607 to the settlement at Jamestown. Eventually, they would
populate west of the Tidewater region and spread along the Atlantic coast. Virginias
own educational institution, the College of William Mary, played a pivotal role in
educating Southern ministers, many of whom were also Anglican. However, the
American Revolution would prove to be disastrous to the perpetuity of the

The Episcopal Church possesses an important history in its own part as well.
Fortunately, some historians have made excellent contributions to the history of
Episcopalianism in the South, which are relevant to the study of Episcopalians in
Roanoke, Virginia. Rhys Isaac s The Transformation of Virginia, 1740 1790 is a
classic text on Southern religious history, and in Virginian religious history in
particular. Isaac is especially helpful in explaining the disestablishment of the
Anglican Church and the reorganization into the Episcopal Church. But once the
Episcopal Church began, it quickly encountered a crisis of identity, with some
desiring to maintain a high church liturgy, while others, perhaps adapting to the
surrounding religious culture, tiptoed into a low church evangelicalism. Diana
Hochstedt Butler s Standing Against the Whirlwind is effective in its portrayal of
the evangelical influence in the Episcopal Church, which seems to have had an
influence not only in Virginia, but also in Roanoke in particular. Nevertheless,
research from Thomas F. Rzeznik and Peter W. Williams have demonstrated that
Episcopalians were also generally sophisticated and cultured. But even these apparent
privileges did not prevent Episcopalians in Roanoke from facing their share of
struggles. Even still, in the words of Walter B. Posey, [T]his transplanted church
remained close to its traditional faith and ritual, and the same was true in Magic
Random Errors
Random errors
During this investigation individuals were asked to lift the weight and lower it
down and repeat the cycle at their peak performance. There is a possibility that some
individuals did not perform at their peak performance at all times. This could impact
the number of cycles performed each time. Therefore, this error could affect the
measurements and the correlation which was concluded from the data. However this
error was inevitable, but to minimise its effect shortening the period of weight lifting
could be suggested. This could promote participants to actually perform at their best
rate. Also, selecting a larger sample size could minimise the effect of this random
error by averaging.
The second error could be caused by not doing the cycle of weight lifting correctly.

This could interfere with the results and might have introduced a new variable. To
minimise this error and keep all other factors constant, the participants could be asked
to keep their hand on the counter in the L shape position. This could improve the
consistency and also ensures that the position of the arm during the resting period did
not interfere with the muscle fatigue. Moreover, having a greater sample size could be
recommended.
Systematic errors
Possible calibration errors of the equipments could have influenced the results. For
instance, inaccuracy in the calibration of the stopwatch could have caused zero error,
even though this seemed unlikely. However, to mitigate the calibration error using a
different stopwatch to ensure that the stopwatch used previously was calibrated
appropriately could be recommended. It was difficult to discuss the impact of
systematic errors especially when only one stopwatch was used. But to identify a
possible systematic error, using a different stopwatch and repeating the same

Love Is The Power Of Love
Love is a Game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and other times it
affects people around you. Nicola Yoon s The Sun Is Also A Star, taught me the
power of love causes people to do crazy things and makes people sacrifice what s
important to them. This includes skipping a once in a lifetime chance at fame,or
even ruining your relationship with family. One of these sacrifices was when Samuel
Kingsley skipped his big audition because he fell in lovewith a cashier at a local gift
shop. The text states,ВЁ Patricia never stood a chance against the force of his
charm. His audition time came and went, but he didn t care. He couldn t get
enough of those eyes that widened so dramatically at the slightest flirtationВЁ (
153). This illustrated that love makes people blind and do crazy things that could
potentially hurt them in the future. However, it also illustrated that love is all
about taking risks and opening yourself up, whether u get hurt or not. The text
states, ВЁ Still, a part of him had to stay away. Some prescient part of him saw the
two paths diverging in the yellow wood. Maybe if he d chosen the other path, if he
left the store instead of stayed, it would have made all the differenceВЁ( 154). This
demonstrates that Samuel knew that if he hadn t skip that audition than he would
have had a chance being famous; however he chose love over fame/ glory.
Consequently, his love with the cashier did not last, due to his failed attempt at
becoming famous, they started to

The Role Of Relationship In The Life Of Antony And The...
Relationships
The role of relationship is an important part of the ascetic life both in The Life of
Antony and The Life of St. Macrina. The ascetic life is when one abstains from
sensual pleasure. Both texts have empowering and devoted relationships between two
people that further the ascetics on their path of transformation in Christ. In The Life
of Antony, the relationship of greatest importance is between Antony and God. While
in the The Life of St. Macrina the strongest relationship was between Macrina and her
mother.
Antony was an Egyptian that was born from two christian parents. He practiced the
ascetic life from an early age, even before he discovered his love for God. For
example, he always accompanied his parents to church and was not known to to
beg them for luxuries, but rather was content with what he had. Furthermore, after
the death of Antony s parents, God spoke to him telling him If you would be
perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure
in heaven. (Ant. 31) God was giving Antony his first test, and Antony followed
God s words exactly. Immediately after hearing the Lord s advice Antony and sold
everything he had and donated all of his earnings to the poor. It was at that moment
when Antony became devoted to God and the ascetic life. As he became more
zealous with God Antony began giving up eating, except for bread, prayed in
private, and even slept on the ground. All of his discipline towards Christ lead his
The Health And Weight Loss
Have you ever wondered why Coca Cola now comes in versions such as light and
zero ? If you have, chances are that you mentally answered your question by saying
that the company read your mind and was fulfilling your desire to lose weight while
still indulging in your favorite beverage. However, the relationship between you and
the food giants is quite the opposite. What you think is healthy or unhealthy is based
on research funded by companies that profit off of your food choices, currently, much
of the research regarding health and weight lossis funded by companies such as Coca
Cola and Kellogg therefore therefore, you are the one fulfilling their desire (CBS,
2015).
The idea that large companies and the media dictate our daily lives has slowly
become common knowledge. Therefore, one must be cautious in regards of the
sources he or she trusts. For instance, Steve Blair, who conducts research that
supports the idea that obesity in America is due to lack of physical activity as
opposed to calorie consumption has much of his research funded by Coca Cola, a
company which is largely known for its calorie packed drinks and snacks.
Moreover, while Blair s research might be supported by relevant data, so was the
research that justified smoking. Nonetheless, the way data is analyzed can be
extremely biased based on who is paying for the collection and analysis of such data
(Freedhoff, 2015).
The increase in the obese population is both an opportunity and a liability to
Critical Analysis Of Some Lessons From The Assembly Line
Has the author s goal changed with this analytical reading of the text? If so, how? If
not, why not?
oAs I reevaluate the article Some Lessons From the Assembly Line by Andrew
Braaksma (2005), I come to the same conclusions, and overall notes. I notice again,
that transitions in life are never easy, going from an assembly line, punching the
clock, and then back to college life. I also took the feeling that the Author s college
life was quite lax in comparison to hit summer work life. Other points I came
across again was a lack of security within that field, not paying attention to repetitive
tasks can cause injury, and the value of an education. I can relate to the value to an
education, as it allows you to get into the door to vet one s abilities. Without
education, experience can land you in the same position. However, at the Author
junction in life, many would not have the experience to be able to obtain secure
employment, and with that I felt lucky to have been able to have obtained the
experience in the service. With that, I value an education, and am now perusing that
to achieve higher goals. Additionally, I don t want to ever be in a dying field, that
could disappear, or become outsourced.

goal in the selected article? If so, include them here. If not, explain why the key

African Union Institutional Capacity to Deal with Intrastate Conflicts
2.1 Introduction
Since its formation in 2001, the constitutive act of the AU has taken normative and
constitutional steps towards the realization of a strong and effective political,
economic and judicial organization for the continent . The ideals that led to the
creation of the AU s predecessor, the OAU proceeded from the notion that countries
in Africa should unite to fight colonial subjugation as well as improve the lives of
their people. Despite these noble ideals, it took a few wars, these are; Western Sahara
(involving Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and France), the Shaba rebellions( the
attempted invasions of Zaire), the invasion of Benin, and the Ogaden war against
Somalia to show the weaknesses and disunited front of the OAU following its failure
to respond to the emerging conflict situations.
The OAU emerged as a compromise solution to the ideological disputes and divisions
which dogged African states at the initial stages of systemic relations. There were two
main conflicting ideas, the unionists which advocated immediate political union of
African states, and the statists which denounced any precipitate union, preferring,
instead, a loose form of association of independent African states, based upon the
principle of functional cooperation. These conflicting political ideas and interests
resulted in the formation of an organization whose principles amounted to a
compromise between unity
A New Hazards Of Misfortunes Summary

within the 1860 s. Due to such things as the Civil War and increases in
industrialization, the identity of the United States society changed as a whole.
African americans migrated to the North for job opportunities and the notion of
freedom, since slavery was abolished. Cities like New York were vastly developing,
and white Americans were moving there for a faster paced lifestyle. Through the

by the fact that African Americans are subservient. African Americans had no

The Existence of a God Essay
The Existence of a God
Throughout history, the worship of gods has been a part of daily life even amidst
those cultures that have been considered savage . The reactions, movement,
existence, comparisons, purposes, and common beliefs of the world show that there
must be a god. The existence of a god is an irrefutable fact. Sir Isaac Newton stated
that every action has a reaction. Therefore every reaction is formed from an action
which #8364;in and of itself is a reaction to a previous action. If this theory is
followed far enough back, there must be an original action, something that starts all
actions, and causes all reactions. Since nothing can cause its own action, because to

Once again, by following this path to its origin one will find that something must
always have existed in order for anything further to exist because for something to
exist, it will one day cease to exist and in order for it to cease to exist it must at one
point not have existed. Thus it must have been created since that which does not
exist comes into being by something that exists (Knowledge, 134). And, as we saw
in relation to movers and to causes, so we cannot but postulate the existence of
some being having of itself its own existence and not receiving it from another, but
rather causing in others their existence. Thus, one may observe evidence of the
existence of god . Comparisons between things using more or less show that there
must be something to which the thing is being compared. To say that something is
better than something else which is good is to show that one has the extreme
resemblance of the most . Thus, there must be a being that is the most good,
something to which everything is compared. As the ultimate good would likely be
found in a perfect being, and it is said that god is perfect , than this ultimate good
must be the supreme being which is known as god . Thus for the comparisons to be
used and found to be truthful, there must be a god. The purposes for which things
exist also provide proof of the existence of god . Everything acts with a purpose

in South London, and traced back to the Jamaican sound system in early 1980 s. a.
This type of music played in secret underground clubs. This genre was taboo to
most people. 2. Dubstep was made popular in the United States by an artist named
Skrillex. a. The music website Allmusic classifies The overall sound of Dubstep is
classified as tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant
drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals (Bush 2012). (Insert sound
clip here) B. The second genre of music I will be talking about is House. 1. The
origination of house music in the United States began in Chicago s Southside in
1977. a. A new type of club created, given the name The Warehouse. 2. Frankie
Knuckles is, The Godfather of House. 3. Early DJ techniques seen in the The
Warehouse 4. House music was generally characterized by repetitive 4/4 beats,
rhythms mainly provided by drum machines, off beat hi hat cymbals, and
synthesized baselines (Cambell 2012). (insert sound clip here) C. The third and
final genre of music I will be talking about is Trap, my personal favorite. 1.
Originated from 1990 s Southern hip hop. Some elements used by artists like Outkast,
Ghetto Mafia, and
Wes Moore s The Chilling Truth
Wes Moore the author says, The chilling truth is that his story could have been
mine. The tragedy is that my story could have been his. In my opinion, I agree
with Wes Moore the authors statement; there were several times throughout the
lives of both the successful Wes Moore and the other Wes Moore that went to
prison could have impacted either one of them to go down the opposite path that
they originally took. The reasoning as to why I believe the other Wes Moore could
have went down a path to success is if the other Wes Moore had the same family
support as the author Wes Moore and if his brother who had a big influence on
Wes, was not involved in the drug game. While both Wes Moore s are both
fatherless, the author Wes Moore was a lot luckier than the other Wes Moore,
because he had his grandparents to help raise him. With the support of his
grandparents, Wes had someone to look after him and also help steer him in the
right direction if needed. His grandparents gave Wes and his sisters a set of rules
and chores to do every single day. Compared to the other Wes Moore, he did not
have any sort of discipline or rules to go by in his house due to the fact his mother
and brother were never really at home. Furthermore, with the other Wes Moore, he
only had his mother and his brother Tony, who both were not a good influence on
him at all. The other Wes Moore looked up to his brother and wanted to be exactly
like Tony. For example, when Wes got into a small
Social Disorganization Theory And High-Risk Factors To...
Social Disorganization Theory and High Risk Factors for Joining a Gang Numerous
studies have been done on gangs and gang members. Why to members of society,
particularly men, turn to a life of crime and join a gang. The importance of studying
gangs and why people join them allows law enforcement to reduce gangrecruitment,
thus leading to a decrease in gang violence. Do young men living in low income
neighborhoods have a higher risk joining a gang? Clifford Shaw and Henry D.
McKay s (1942) social disorganization theory applies to the research question. The
general hypothesis is that low economic status, ethnic heterogeneity, residential
mobility, and family disruption lead to community social disorganization, which, in
turn, increases crime
Straw Dogs Satire
Forgive me, i am the worst kind of horror movie enthusiast I see a trailer on
television for an upcoming release and i can t help but get giddy and declare I
want to see that! without having any idea aside from the trailers; which are often
misleading what the movie is about. Thats my biggest problem as a movie viewer,
critic, and person in the case of 2011 s Straw Dogs, this also led to a level of
embarrassment on a first date, but we will get into that later. Unlike most people
in the industry i like the idea of remakes I actually believe they do more good then
harm for a movie, because a second attempt can often allow a story to live up to its
full potential. On a very hypocritical note sometimes i feel like if it is not broken
don t fix it, or if it doesn t need to exist don t create it. I get very frustrated when i
try to sort out my genuine feelings on this. I am glad however Straw... Show more

Well lets consider genre; Straw Dogs is not a horror horror, its more of a psycho
thriller and it takes a long time before anything brutal or sadistic to actually occur.
Most of the films graphic slash and kill moments are compacted into the last thirty
some minutes. The majority of the movie introduces the audience to the close
minded social politics of a sadistic small town, Blackwater Mississippi. David
Summer (James Marsden) is an unwanted outsider and when he and his wife Amy
(Kate Bosworth) move into her childhood home they are greeted with reluctance
and torment. Amy encourages David to attempt to adapt to her childhood home in
order to blend in this blending in actually becomes their means of survival being
that the citizens of Blackwater maintain a very hostile approach to any newcomers.
It does not help that Amy s redneck ex boyfriend Charlie, maintains a deluded sense
of ownership over Amy and essentially see s her as a piece of stolen property in

  • 1. Population Control Essay Writing an essay on the topic of population control can be a challenging task, requiring a delicate balance between presenting factual information and navigating the ethical considerations associated with such a sensitive subject. The complexity arises from the need to delve into various aspects, including demographic trends, environmental impacts, socio- economic factors, and the ethical implications of implementing population control measures. Firstly, extensive research is essential to gather accurate and up-to-date information on global population trends, regional variations, and historical perspectives. Analyzing statistical data and understanding the demographic transition theory becomes crucial in providing a comprehensive overview. Discussing the environmental impact of population growth involves exploring issues such as resource depletion, deforestation, and climate change. Balancing these discussions with an understanding of cultural, social, and economic factors adds layers of complexity to the essay. The writer must tread carefully to avoid oversimplification or neglecting the multifaceted nature of the topic. Ethical considerations are inherent in any discussion about population control. Addressing the potential consequences of policies such as family planning, sterilization, or incentivized birth control programs requires a nuanced approach. The writer must navigate through diverse cultural perspectives and ethical frameworks to present a well-rounded view. Crafting a coherent and persuasive argument involves synthesizing information from various sources while maintaining a clear and logical flow. The essay should not only inform the reader but also engage them in critical thinking about the implications of different population control measures. Moreover, addressing counterarguments and acknowledging the limitations of certain strategies adds depth to the essay. Striking a balance between presenting a stance and acknowledging opposing views is crucial for a well-rounded discussion. In conclusion, writing an essay on population control demands a meticulous approach that combines thorough research, ethical consideration, and effective argumentation. The writer must navigate through a myriad of interconnected factors, presenting a nuanced view that acknowledges the complexity of the topic. • 2. Persuasive Essay On Sexual Education Many people believe that sex education is a taboo topic but it is far from that it is a topic that is very important and impactful to one s life and it plays a huge step in how children will grow up. A child is an adult when they can understand about sexual education and how they can fully protect themselves against it. I believe that an adult that understand this are prepare to protect them and their love ones. Because sometimes parents underestimate the importance of it, and because religion makes teaching it inaccurately. Signs such as a child having the knowledge of contraceptives and how sex is an act of love is signs of a child blossoming to a young adult with far more knowledge in sexual education than their previous self. I believe that is something as important as this should be taught in school. The paradigm of adulthood is sex and sexual education is important to anybody who participate in sex but, not everybody participate in sex. Some celebrate celibacy it may also be called abstinence This is when you don t participate in the act of sex. This is the only way to not get an sexually transmitted disease. In celibacy there is an 100% success rate (Crawford, C. (n.d.). The Pros and Cons of Celibacy). Condoms only second to celibacy has a 98% success rate the other 2 percent are the chance that the condoms misfail and they don t protect you. The 98% doesn t calculate human error in the equation , the number may be in the mid 80 s if the instruction are not followed exactly (Parenthood, P. (n.d.). What Is the Effectiveness of Condoms? Retrieved October 17, 2017). Such things like way the male puts it on or even small things like temperature can affect the longevity and usefulness of condoms. Regardless if participante if celibacy you still need the knowledge of sexual education. Even if is a topic that is controversial it is a topic that we have to bring to light because it s something every person needs to know. Such diseases such as aids, hiv, and any diseases in a sexually transmitted disease (std) can be deadly and even if doesn t kill you it can greatly affect your life. There is even laws in place that if you have a sexual relationship with a person with no knowledge of your disease you

Upon hearing the phrase so sinfully delicious, what sensations tend to stir within your body? Throughout America, a common response typically emerges: I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Introduce Self: Hi, my name is Maria Papadopoulos, and with summer rapidly approaching, there proves no greater treat than indulging in a home made ice cream sundae. THESIS: In fact, by following three simple steps, one can concoct the perfect ice cream sundae. Main Point One: First of all, one must decide upon a base, a flavor that will accentuate the delightful taste of this treat. Main Point Two: Secondly, the smothering of a rich... As the finishing touches to the creation of an ice cream sundae, an individual must emphasize the extravagance of such a dessert through the application of tasty toppings. A. Part of the beauty of a sundae lies in the notion of its having no restraint, for embellishment options remain practically endless. 1. With its soft, dreamy peaks, whipped cream provides one with a fluffy effect. 2. At the same time, other toppings such as crushed oreos, sprinkles, nuts, and bright red maraschino cherries together complete the perfect ice cream sundae. B. Although it seems as if an ice cream sundae emerges as rather costly with its various toppings and other ingredients, a home made sundae proves far less expensive than one from an actual ice cream store. 1. I would like you to listen to this figure from a USA Today article in July of 2001. The price of milk fat, which exists as the prime component of ice cream, has increased by nearly seventy percent! 2. Surely, even we can relate to this huge price increase here in Champaign Urbana, for a cup of plain ice cream smaller than the size of my palm costs around two dollars at the Union. 3. For this very reason, it actually proves wise to create an ice cream sundae to one s own liking at

The Exam Hall, once Theatre, on the campus of Trinity College Dublin can be viewed as a neo classical building, built during the Georgian era. Neo classical architecture is the revival of Greek and Roman classicism that took place in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This revival of architecture as James Adams, a famous English architect said, was ready to seize with some degree of success, the beautiful spirit of antiquity, which is quintessentially seen in the Exam Hall. In comparing the Exam Hall to renowned neo classical buildings we can deduce that we are rightful in describing Trinity College Dublin s Exam Hall as being classical . Chamber s classical style shined in much of his work, specifically the exam hall. Trinity Colleges Exam Hall can be described as classical because it is built following the guidelines of Corinthian Order. During the period of classical architecture the Greeks founded the original three orders Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian different classical styles of building that followed certain rules and mathematical ratios. The Romans adopted these orders and made them their own. Roman Corinthian Order is the style of the Exam Hall. The most distinctive element is the columns, which support an entablature. The Exam Halls columns contain smooth unfluted shafts made from Portland Stone, a highly sought after stone at the time. The column capital is ornate as all classical capitals are. The capital is decorated with acanthus leaves and small volutes. There is also a fleuron in the center of the abacus, which lie atop the column capital. The capitals are also made of Portland stone. The entablature, being held up by the columns, contains three discrete elements that are classical in architecture. The Exam Hall exemplifies all three of these elements. The architrave and frieze are found to be smooth while the cornice contains dentils,
  • 5. Planet of the Apes Essay Planet of the Apes When Planet of the Apes opened in theaters, few people knew what to expect. To most, the idea of a movie with the premise of a planet full of intelligent apes went against everything they had been taught. The initial attraction was the superb cast, spearheaded by Charlton Heston who portrays Taylor, an astronaut who crashes onto the planet. Heston was joined by many popular actors and actress such as, Roddy McDowell as Cornelius, Maurice Evans as Dr. Zaius and Kim Hunter as Zira. Though the cast may have been the initial draw, the content is what has made the movie Planet of the Apes a classic that will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come. To us, having one individual controlling both seems not only preposterous, but also dangerous. The American mind immediately concludes that a system such as this will lead to stagnation in science, and close mindedness in religion. In Planet of the Apes this stagnation does occur. When a young upstart scientist named Cornelius tries to attack the religiously based view of life in his society he is brought up on charges of heresy. Cornelius merely attempted to state that he had found evidence that apes had evolved from man. Defender of the faith Dr. Zaius then quickly ended the hearings and threatened Cornelius with charges of hearsay. This is a direct link to our own past. Charles Darwin challenged religions view on the origins of life in the 1800 s, and frighteningly similar things occurred to him. This is what Planet of the Apes attempts to do, and accomplishes so thoroughly. It mirrors things that have happened in our own world, yet portrays them in a way that makes humanity s own shortcomings more palatable. Yet, there are two ways of interpreting the lessons the film teaches. On one level, Planet of the Apes blatantly warns individuals not to repeat the past. While on another level, the director could be interpreted to be stating subtly that we did not learn from our past and are therefore doomed to repeat it. These interpretations wholly depend on the individual seeing the film. Planet

Policies and initiatives to engage older individuals are, therefore, in demand and need to be effectively integrated, targeted and adequately resourced. Undoubtedly, these works have a high degree of charming appeal, and rightfully deserve the praise they are given. However, the power of Degas as an artist extends far beyond the whimsical, enchanting tulle skirts and delicate foot positions. The paintings of Degas can be viewed as a window into Parisian life during a time of great change and social disruption. Not only was Degas s subject matter contemporary, but his choice of medium and artistic techniques was also distinctly modern. The scene that is captured by Degas shows a group of women sitting outside of a small cafГ© on the crowded Boulevard Montmartre. • 22. The Importance Of Listening In Early Childhood Education The pedagogy of listening is one that is closely intertwined with early childhood education (ECE) and, within this context, it is acknowledged as being more than the word itself implies. Listening in an early childhood setting is not merely to hear what a child says and act on it, rather, it is to open yourself to different perspectives and be willing to not only act on but also adopt new ways of thinking (Davies, 2014). To truly use this as an effective pedagogyis to turn the act of listening into an intentional and meaningful interaction (MacNaugton Williams, 2010). In doing so, relationships you are forming with everyone that you interact with be they two feet tall and in nappies or fully grown and in uniform can only be strengthened as you show them the respect and reciprocity that is needed to achieve meaningful bonds (Gonzalez Mena Widmeyer Eyer, 2018). It is through listening that the Graduating Teacher Standards (GTS) relevant to personal values and relationships can be met and thoroughly explored. GTS 6a, for example, requires teachers to recognise how different values and beliefs impact learning (Education Council New Zealand / Matatu Aotearoa (ECNZ), 2015). Through listening, we as educators are able to experience and gain some understanding of the diverse backgrounds and interests that are within the centre and thus plan appropriate experiences that can accommodate everyone or can be altered to be inclusive. Next time when he tries again to do the same thing he will do less and less. This is a theory that B.F. Skinner based his operations on, called operant conditioning. B.F. Skinner was a leading behaviorist, who rejected introspection and studied how consequences shape behavior. Introspection is the self observation of one s conscious. Burrhus Frederic Skinner was born on March 20, 1904 in Susquehanna Depot, Pennsylvania. He grew up in an active household, his mother being a tough and bright housewife and his father a hard working lawyer. As a child, B.F. Skinner was active, outgoing, and intelligent, he loved school. After B.F. Skinner successfully graduated from high school, he enrolled at Hamilton College in New York. Later on, he decided to go back to school this time at Harvard University to study psychology. But once the Episcopal Church began, it quickly encountered a crisis of identity, with some desiring to maintain a high church liturgy, while others, perhaps adapting to the surrounding religious culture, tiptoed into a low church evangelicalism. • 30. Love Is The Power Of Love Love is a Game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and other times it affects people around you. Nicola Yoon s The Sun Is Also A Star, taught me the power of love causes people to do crazy things and makes people sacrifice what s important to them. This includes skipping a once in a lifetime chance at fame,or even ruining your relationship with family. One of these sacrifices was when Samuel Kingsley skipped his big audition because he fell in lovewith a cashier at a local gift shop. The text states,ВЁ Patricia never stood a chance against the force of his charm. His audition time came and went, but he didn t care. He couldn t get enough of those eyes that widened so dramatically at the slightest flirtationВЁ ( 153). This illustrated that love makes people blind and do crazy things that could potentially hurt them in the future. However, it also illustrated that love is all about taking risks and opening yourself up, whether u get hurt or not. The text states, ВЁ Still, a part of him had to stay away. Some prescient part of him saw the two paths diverging in the yellow wood. Maybe if he d chosen the other path, if he left the store instead of stayed, it would have made all the differenceВЁ( 154). This demonstrates that Samuel knew that if he hadn t skip that audition than he would have had a chance being famous; however he chose love over fame/ glory. Consequently, his love with the cashier did not last, due to his failed attempt at becoming famous, they started to

  • 33. The Role Of Relationship In The Life Of Antony And The... Relationships The role of relationship is an important part of the ascetic life both in The Life of Antony and The Life of St. Macrina. The ascetic life is when one abstains from sensual pleasure. Both texts have empowering and devoted relationships between two people that further the ascetics on their path of transformation in Christ. In The Life of Antony, the relationship of greatest importance is between Antony and God. While in the The Life of St. Macrina the strongest relationship was between Macrina and her mother. Antony was an Egyptian that was born from two christian parents. He practiced the ascetic life from an early age, even before he discovered his love for God. For example, he always accompanied his parents to church and was not known to to beg them for luxuries, but rather was content with what he had. Furthermore, after the death of Antony s parents, God spoke to him telling him If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. (Ant. 31) God was giving Antony his first test, and Antony followed God s words exactly. Immediately after hearing the Lord s advice Antony and sold everything he had and donated all of his earnings to the poor. It was at that moment when Antony became devoted to God and the ascetic life. As he became more zealous with God Antony began giving up eating, except for bread, prayed in private, and even slept on the ground. All of his discipline towards Christ lead his
  • 34. The Health And Weight Loss Have you ever wondered why Coca Cola now comes in versions such as light and zero ? If you have, chances are that you mentally answered your question by saying that the company read your mind and was fulfilling your desire to lose weight while still indulging in your favorite beverage. However, the relationship between you and the food giants is quite the opposite. What you think is healthy or unhealthy is based on research funded by companies that profit off of your food choices, currently, much of the research regarding health and weight lossis funded by companies such as Coca Cola and Kellogg therefore therefore, you are the one fulfilling their desire (CBS, 2015). The idea that large companies and the media dictate our daily lives has slowly become common knowledge. Therefore, one must be cautious in regards of the sources he or she trusts. For instance, Steve Blair, who conducts research that supports the idea that obesity in America is due to lack of physical activity as opposed to calorie consumption has much of his research funded by Coca Cola, a company which is largely known for its calorie packed drinks and snacks. Moreover, while Blair s research might be supported by relevant data, so was the research that justified smoking. Nonetheless, the way data is analyzed can be extremely biased based on who is paying for the collection and analysis of such data (Freedhoff, 2015). The increase in the obese population is both an opportunity and a liability to

If not, why not? oAs I reevaluate the article Some Lessons From the Assembly Line by Andrew Braaksma (2005), I come to the same conclusions, and overall notes. I notice again, that transitions in life are never easy, going from an assembly line, punching the clock, and then back to college life. I also took the feeling that the Author s college life was quite lax in comparison to hit summer work life. Other points I came across again was a lack of security within that field, not paying attention to repetitive tasks can cause injury, and the value of an education. I can relate to the value to an education, as it allows you to get into the door to vet one s abilities. Without education, experience can land you in the same position. However, at the Author junction in life, many would not have the experience to be able to obtain secure employment, and with that I felt lucky to have been able to have obtained the experience in the service. With that, I value an education, and am now perusing that to achieve higher goals. Additionally, I don t want to ever be in a dying field, that could disappear, or become outsourced. 2. Have you identified new key points that the author uses to try to achieve his or her goal in the selected article? If so, include them here. If not, explain why the key points from your Writing Notes have remained the same, even after conducting an active reading of

African Union Institutional Capacity to Deal with Intrastate Conflicts 2.1 Introduction Since its formation in 2001, the constitutive act of the AU has taken normative and constitutional steps towards the realization of a strong and effective political, economic and judicial organization for the continent . The ideals that led to the creation of the AU s predecessor, the OAU proceeded from the notion that countries in Africa should unite to fight colonial subjugation as well as improve the lives of their people. Despite these noble ideals, it took a few wars, these are; Western Sahara (involving Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and France), the Shaba rebellions( the attempted invasions of Zaire), the invasion of Benin, and the Ogaden war against Somalia to show the weaknesses and disunited front of the OAU following its failure to respond to the emerging conflict situations. The OAU emerged as a compromise solution to the ideological disputes and divisions which dogged African states at the initial stages of systemic relations. There were two main conflicting ideas, the unionists which advocated immediate political union of African states, and the statists which denounced any precipitate union, preferring, instead, a loose form of association of independent African states, based upon the principle of functional cooperation. These conflicting political ideas and interests resulted in the formation of an organization whose principles amounted to a compromise between unity

Due to such things as the Civil War and increases in industrialization, the identity of the United States society changed as a whole. African americans migrated to the North for job opportunities and the notion of freedom, since slavery was abolished. Cities like New York were vastly developing, and white Americans were moving there for a faster paced lifestyle. Isabel uses offensive wording when mentioning the janitor. She refers to him as a colored janitor instead of just leaving his racial identity absent from his job position (Howells, 41). Isabel says that It s true. I am in love with the whole race. I never saw one of them that didn t have perfectly angelic manners . She acts so astounded by the fact that African Americans are subservient. African Americans had no chance of being judged by their capabilities, they were always defined by their race which kept them labeled as lower class citizens. They had no choice but to humble themselves when in the presence of anyone that was white. So that they would not be subject to what they once were directly opressed by, which was different forms of slavery, torture, and

  • 39. The Existence of a God Essay The Existence of a God Throughout history, the worship of gods has been a part of daily life even amidst those cultures that have been considered savage . The reactions, movement, existence, comparisons, purposes, and common beliefs of the world show that there must be a god. The existence of a god is an irrefutable fact. Sir Isaac Newton stated that every action has a reaction. Therefore every reaction is formed from an action which #8364;in and of itself is a reaction to a previous action. If this theory is followed far enough back, there must be an original action, something that starts all actions, and causes all reactions. Since nothing can cause its own action, because to do so would mean that it would have to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once again, by following this path to its origin one will find that something must always have existed in order for anything further to exist because for something to exist, it will one day cease to exist and in order for it to cease to exist it must at one point not have existed. Thus it must have been created since that which does not exist comes into being by something that exists (Knowledge, 134). And, as we saw in relation to movers and to causes, so we cannot but postulate the existence of some being having of itself its own existence and not receiving it from another, but rather causing in others their existence. Thus, one may observe evidence of the existence of god . Comparisons between things using more or less show that there must be something to which the thing is being compared. To say that something is better than something else which is good is to show that one has the extreme resemblance of the most . Thus, there must be a being that is the most good, something to which everything is compared. As the ultimate good would likely be found in a perfect being, and it is said that god is perfect , than this ultimate good must be the supreme being which is known as god . Thus for the comparisons to be used and found to be truthful, there must be a god. The purposes for which things exist also provide proof of the existence of god . Everything acts with a purpose

What you just heard were the sounds of EDM. EDM stands for electronic dance music. Also you saw first hand the inside of a rave called Electric Daisy Carnival (a Las Vegas event famous for finding yourself under the electric sky ). What rave culture means to me is a place I can be myself and express my creativity in a judgment free environment. Today, I am going to explain the history behind the top 3 most popular genres of EDM, and the meaning behind rave culture. I. The different types of EDM I will be talking about is Dubstep, House, and Trap A. The first genre of music I will be talking about is Dubstep. 1. In my opinion, I agree with Wes Moore the authors statement; there were several times throughout the lives of both the successful Wes Moore and the other Wes Moore that went to prison could have impacted either one of them to go down the opposite path that they originally took. The reasoning as to why I believe the other Wes Moore could have went down a path to success is if the other Wes Moore had the same family support as the author Wes Moore and if his brother who had a big influence on Wes, was not involved in the drug game. While both Wes Moore s are both fatherless, the author Wes Moore was a lot luckier than the other Wes Moore, because he had his grandparents to help raise him. With the support of his grandparents, Wes had someone to look after him and also help steer him in the right direction if needed. His grandparents gave Wes and his sisters a set of rules and chores to do every single day. Compared to the other Wes Moore, he did not have any sort of discipline or rules to go by in his house due to the fact his mother and brother were never really at home. Furthermore, with the other Wes Moore, he only had his mother and his brother Tony, who both were not a good influence on him at all. The other Wes Moore looked up to his brother and wanted to be exactly like Tony. For example, when Wes got into a small
