City Warming Over the last decades, the Earth s human population has been growing
exponentially and now lies above 7 billion people. With such an immense number of
humans roaming around the Earth, throughout time, urbanization will occur
expanding the size of many cities. As a rural area expands so does the amount of
asphalt and concrete buildings within the city. This is how an urban heat island
occurs. An urban heat island poses many serious threats as it raises the temperature
significantly at night and can cause many fatal health risks during the day. Although
urban heat islands seem drastic, there remains ways that could potentially reduce the
effects. Minimizing the effect of the urban heat island can be accomplished by
increasing the amount of vegetation, which includes trees and natural grass, around
new parks and recreational facilities. An urban heat island is normally classified as a
metropolitan area that is warmer than its environment and the amount of concrete and

This solution may sound a bit cruel to the elders. For those people who were
desperately waiting for retirement, either due to physically incapability or desire to
rest, the extra years added onto retirement age may sound like a torture. It may
even cause people of young age groups to immigrate to different parts of the world
to avoid the extensive working years in their country. Also, elders are less efficient
in producing goods or providing services because of the natural health deterioration.
Therefore, even if the citizens accepted the decision of increasing the retirement age,

to each other by Deborah Tannen and Speaking Different Languages by John Gray
are about how men and women often misunderstand each other which causes
conflicts and or arguments. When a woman says something it usually has a deeper
meaning, but men are usually more direct when speaking; this leads to conflicts and
relationship problems. According to Tannen and Gray, men and women can adjust
their thinking to minimize misunderstanding by translating each other s dialect, by
understanding their different ways of listening, and different body languages.
Misinterpreting what someone says is the main cause of disputes. Men and women

period. This is also known as labor month. To figure out the total hour of a man
month is done this way. A man day usually runs 8 hours a day for five days a week
