Essay On Juvenile Justice
Writing an essay on the topic of Juvenile Justice can be a challenging task due to the complexity
and sensitivity of the subject matter. The intricacies involved in discussing the legal, ethical, and
social aspects of juvenile justice demand a thorough understanding of the various perspectives
and the ability to navigate through the evolving landscape of juvenile law.
Researching the topic requires delving into legal frameworks, psychological theories, and
sociological perspectives related to juvenile offenders. It involves analyzing the effectiveness of
rehabilitation versus punitive measures, considering the impact of socio-economic factors on
juvenile delinquency, and exploring the ethical considerations surrounding the treatment of
young individuals within the justice system.
Crafting a well-rounded essay involves presenting a balanced viewpoint, acknowledging the
diverse opinions within the academic and legal communities. Addressing the ongoing debates
and reforms in juvenile justice adds another layer of complexity to the task. Striking a balance
between maintaining objectivity and advocating for necessary changes is crucial.
Moreover, one must be mindful of the emotional aspect associated with juvenile justice, as it
involves discussing the lives and futures of young individuals. Balancing empathy with the need
for a fair and just system is a delicate task that requires careful consideration of language and
tone.
In conclusion, composing an essay on Juvenile Justice demands a comprehensive understanding
of legal, psychological, and sociological aspects, along with the ability to navigate through the
ethical nuances of the topic. It's a challenging endeavor that necessitates thoughtful research,
critical thinking, and empathetic expression to convey a well-informed perspective.

to provide the high quality food and best service to customers. However, the truth

customers.
McDonald s is a well known catering company in the world. In the UK market, there
is no delivery service. Therefore, a number of customers who looks for fast food

a fast level because of its convenience. Delivery service of every thing is very
common, such as Argos and ASDA. They deliver their goods to its customer with a
strong driving team. It can been seen that UK residents enjoy the benefit of delivery
service which brings them convenience.

The Film The Bronze Screen
According to the movie The Bronze Screen, I understand that the Spanish people
started acting in US cinema and specifically in Hollywood from early 20th century.
The Spanish cinema started with black and while movie. At the first they act with just
Spanish representative, because they want control the American cinema and precisely
Hollywood. The Spanish movie was in the first representation without the voice.
After that they added the voice. The Mexican movies was increased in Hollywood
cinemas because American people like it. However the Mexican actor was good
with acting. Hollywood films was increased their Mexican market after the
Spanish people participated in the American cinema. Also the people who
watching Spanish movies was increased. After that Hollywood America has
introduced representatives of the participating representatives Spanish and this

Valyrian Blood
Does Melisandre really need King s Blood or is it just Valyrian blood? Partly
Concurring, Partly Dissenting Opinion: Anton If she wants to kill three
pretenders, no blood at all is needed. She d already seen that Balon, Robb, and
Joffrey would die, so the burning of the leeches with the blood of Edric Storm was
just a mummer s trick. If she wants to conjure up strong winds, the non royal
sacrifice of Alester Florent suffices. Now, if she wants to wake dragons from stone
as per the Azor Ahai prophecy it depends on your interpretation of the prophecy.
For hatching fossilized eggs, you really need (some type of) Valyrian blood to be

We are told that there are about 6,000 people there (twice the number of Tormund s
group), so saving their lives and preventing them from turning into wights should
be a huge priority for the Night s Watch. Not to mention the intelligence that can be
gathered through this mission. Moreover, Jon has been very resourceful in
gathering the eleven ships he sent there under the command of Cottor Pyke.
However, he should have realized that sending this ragtag fleet wouldn t be
enough. Some ships wouldn t make it, and there wasn t enough room for 6,000
people to begin with. Instead of waiting for this attempt to succeed or fail, he
should have sent a small ranging party over there as well. He could have made it
one of the conditions in his negotiation with Tormund, that a group of wildlings be
sent to Hardhome (as well as to camps in the mountains beyond the Shadow Tower)
in order to convince the people there to come to the Wall. In the case of Hardhome,
this might have been successful. The people there might have lost faith in Mother
Mole after the visit of the Lyseni slavers, and be willing to come. The big land

The purpose of my memory artifact is to argue that epic poetry is a form of
memory representation used to portray the collective memory of a nation and a
civilization. An Epic poem is a long narrative poem that deals with an event
significant or important to a culture or nation. I believe my presentation was quite
successful since I was able to get my message across and make a connection with
the audience. However, my presentation only incorporated the visual and oral
components of WOVEN and failed to stand alone by itself. My presentation could be
enhanced by fully utilizing the Prezi s features by highlighting key ideas, adding
colored fonts and by elaborating on definitions and historical contexts.
I wanted to do my presentation with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My Prezi mainly used two modes of communication. It was an interaction between
oral and visual form of communication. My Prezi began with the topic of my
memory artifact. The presentation was constructed on two images, which were
posters of Beowulf and Sir Gawain. These two images served as a background. I
had a lot of zooming features in my presentation, which zoomed into different parts
of the background to show the minimized images and the key point to take away
from the illustration. So, the Prezi first discussed key characteristics of an epic poem.
For each characteristic there was a picture or an example explaining what the
characteristic was talking about. For example, my presentation touched on how epic
poetry always started in medias res (middle of things) and to illustrate the
characteristic I had a picture of Satan burning in hell after losing his battle to god,
which was how Paradise Lost began.
After going through the characteristics, the Prezi just had some key points that
helped me make my point. So, I elaborated on how epic poetry was a representation
of collective memory, which tied with the beginning of my presentation (I started off
by stating my thesis). Also, in my conclusion, I achieved a closure to my presentation
by not only addressing key points to the presentation but by also further expanding
the thesis by discussing the importance of collective memory and how epic poetry
successfully captured the importance. I made sure I was talking to the
Humanity In Frankenstein
Could the creature be more human than his creature? In Frankenstein, written by
Mary Wollstoncraft Shelly, Victor Frankenstein acts more like a monster than his
creature. The creature could have been kind if only mankind didn t treat him like a
monster he looks like. Some or all of the deaths could have been avoided if the
creature felt like he was treated kindly. Frankensteinhates his creation from the
moment of animation. A mummy again endued with animation could not be so
hideous as that wretch (Shelly 59). Frankenstein was the first to judge the creature
be his looks. He held up the curtain of the bed; and his eyes, if eyes they may be
called, were fixed on me. His jaws opened, and he muttered some inarticulate
sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks. He might have spoken, but I did bit hear;
one hand was stretched out seeming to detain me, but I escaped, and rushed
downstairs (Shelly 59). The creature acted as a child in its early years towards
Frankenstein and he looked at everything the creature did with a negative perspective
causing fear and for him to run out of the room. He was the first to show the creature
humanity. The creature decided to try and find a family elsewhere. The creature...

Frankenstein promised to create him a partner but destroys it instead of animating
it. The creature was hurt that his creator didn t want him to be happy like everyone
else. Shall each man, cried he, find a wife for his bosom and each beast have his
mate, and I be alone (Shelly 172)? The creature threatened Frankenstein saying if he
could not have a companion than Elizabeth would be taken from him. The creature
had become cruel and waited for their wedding night, a night that Elizabeth had
longed for. Not only did Elizabeth die due to Frankenstein not creating a companion,

Sagging Pants Is Deviant Behavior Essay
A deviant behavior is a label attached to a person s activity that is conducted in a
manner outside the normalized zone of conformity within a society. There is the
perception of how people view or understand certain demeanors. Next, a behavior
may be considered illegal in the eyes of the law and it may also be viewed as
immoral, unethical or inappropriate in the eyes of the people. Moreover, deviant
behavior is conceptualized in the eyes of the public even when an act is not illegal.
Although this may be true, there is still the circle of cultural beliefs and upbringings
among certain groups of people that may not actually consider an act deviant or
illegal. People in a community have attachments to their own family, peers and social

On the other hand, wearing saggy pants is a matter of free will and of choice. It is
part of a person s identity. Why would wearing pants that show underwear be
considered deviant? Feldman(1984) indicates, norms are enforced to show people
what type of behaviors are accepted within a members of society. Furthermore, this
raises the point in asking the question, why there are no rules against women wearing
revealing tops? In my opinion, I think it s just a matter of choice and how members
of a society view such acts which are not criminalistic.
I believe that sagging may be more predominant in lower classes such as college
freshmen because they are just getting out of high school and may still be more
involved in the trendy urban fashion statements. Next, in regards to sagging being
used by upper level classmen such as seniors, I think that they would tend to use less
of sagging pants because of their age and maturity level.
In the same fashion, I believe school dropouts would tend to sag more than medical
doctors because of the difference in professionalism. In my opinion, doctors are
professionals and are not trying to look cool or make a fashion statement. In
addition, I believe that some dropouts would have a lesser sense of ethical and
acceptable morals. But, at the same time, I still find wearing specific styles of clothing
is a matter of choice.
I think that the answer to this question may take on
Compare And Contrast Diet Soda Vs Regular Soda
There is a 54.5% greater risk of obesity for those who drink one to two cans of diet
soda each day, in comparison with 32.8% percent for those who drink the same
amount of regular soda (Avery). Many people believe that if you are going to choose
between diet soda and regular soda, diet soda is the no brainer choice. Seeing the
word diet on anything automatically makes you think this must be healthy. The
problem is that manufacturers like to mislead consumers into thinking that their diet
product is a healthier version of their original. When really, they are just adding
chemicals to make the nutritionlabel look healthier. Diet soda is worse than regular
soda because it causes many physical and psychological problems.
There is a lot of High Fructose Corn Syrup, the sugar of choice, in regular sodas.
People started finding out about how bad sugar is for them and how much sugar
was really in their favorite every day drink. Everyone started turning against all of
the soda companies and they had no choice but to come up with an alternative. So,
instead of using natural sugar or High Fructose Corn Syrup in sodas, scientists
invented artificial sweeteners, a way to keep the soda sweet yet contain no sugar.
Artificial sweeteners like Aspartame that are added to diet soda are actually worse
for us than the sugar that is in regular soda. This was proven by an Osteopathic
Physician from the American Colledge of Nutrition who states, While many of the
artificial sweeteners have reportedly similar side effects, aspartame accounts for
over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA
(Mercola).
It is commonplace that diet soda is an acceptable diet food. So many people
believe that by drinking diet soda they will reduce their calories and sugar intake
therefore, lose weight. Even though it is not natural sugar, artificial sweeteners are
just as addictive. Cheryl Forberg R.D. author of Flavor First states, when the taste
buds sense sweetness, the body expects calories to come with it. There are no
calories in diet soda so your body is craving calories for energy, which makes you
crave food and overeat, leading to obesity (Lajollamom). In addition, many diet soda
drinkers feel that
Birthright Citizenship In The Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic government for centuries granted citizenship to all children
born in the country, this was known as jus soli or birthright citizenship. The
Dominican Republican constitution stated, Dominicans are: All persons born in the
territory of the Republic with the exception of the legitimate children of foreigners
resident in the country in diplomatic representation or in transit ( Dominican Republic
Constitution Politics. Foreign Law Guide). This meant that children born in the
Dominican Republic to migrants who stayed in the country exceeding 10 days had a
constitutional right to Dominican nationality. Hundreds of thousands of children
born to immigrants gained citizenship through this Constitutional right once their...

Finally, in 2007 after they were tired of appealing the Inter American Court of Human
Rights, the Dominican Central Electoral Council officially instructed its employees
to deny citizenship documents to all children born to illegal immigrants, which they
named Resolution 12. Just when you thought the Dominican Central Council could
not be any more malicious and inhumane, they decided in 2010 to issue a
constitutional reform, which eliminated birthright citizenship in the Dominican
Republic. This would be first time in Dominican history where the nationality of
children born in the country to undocumented immigrant parents would be denied.
However, the Constitution of 2010 itself recognizes in Article 18.2 the nationality of
people who were already considered Dominican nationals prior to 2010 so the
Constitutional change applies only to those born after 2010. Fast forward three years
to September 23, 20013 the Dominican Constitutional Court, through resolution TC
0168/13 retroactively denied Dominican nationality to anyone born after 1929. This
resolution argued that anyone who does not have at least one parent of Dominican
blood, are considered undocumented immigrants which then labels them as in transit.
. The Dominican Constitutional Court immediately ordered the review of the civil
registry dating back to 1929. The Constitutional court stated
Alteration In Frankenstein
Any baker knows that when following a recipe, there are certain ingredients that can
be added in decreased or increased quantities, substituted with another ingredient, or
excluded as a whole, while still not affecting the overall outcome of the recipe. On
the other hand, there are other ingredients that must be measured precisely in order
for the recipe to be successful. The aforementioned description holds true for literary
works, as well. The success of some pieces relies heavily on a strong plot, while the
success of others is found primarily from the quality of characters and setting. To
construct a successful Frankensteinstory, one must be sure to include the creation of
the monster, the human like qualities embodied by the monster,... Show more content

In containing this theme, the tale will reveal how destructive these prejudices can
be to the individual, group, and society as a whole. These social prejudices were
best showcased in Mary Shelley s 1818 novel Frankenstein, in which the Creature
was continually judged based upon his physical appearance instead of his emotional
and intellectual attributes. Not only was the Creature judged by his father, but by
other characters throughout the novel including William, the DeLacey family, and
other townsfolk. These prejudices took a heavy toll on the Creature, as seen
through his emotional responses and his sporadic actions towards other humans.
All in all, these prejudices ended up being harmful not only to the Creature, but to
all whom he interacted with due to their effect on him. This theme is so vital to
maintaining the Frankenstein story that it seemingly reoccurs in every adaptation
that we covered this semester. However, out of all of these adaptations, Philip K.
Dick s 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? undoubtedly does the
best job at portraying the theme of social prejudices against one particular group.
Throughout the novel, the entity of the androids was judged and looked down
upon. The prejudices against androids not only affected the androids themselves but
affected Rick Deckard as his life s work was terminating these androids, Iran as she

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Comparative Essay
The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas written by John Boyne (2006) and Life Is Beautiful
directed by Roberto Benigni (1997) are both texts about a family living through the
time period of WWII and the holocaust. Both texts utilize and approach the delicate
topic of WWII and the holocaust in different ways, which makes the audience react
and be affected differently. But which text was most effective for conveying the
events of the holocaust?
The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is narrated from a child s perspective, which makes
the main character (Bruno) to innocent and ignorant to notice any signs of danger,
which leads to a lot of foreshadowing, and not a lot of detail. The reader has to
interpret what is happening and must have some knowledge of WWII and the
holocaust to understand the storyline. For example, when Bruno Shows Gretel
(Bruno s sister) the children outside his window that re behind a giant fence, the
reader has to interpret that Bruno s showing Gretel a concentration camp. The Boy In
The Striped Pyjamas is aso quite symbolic, an example of this symbolism would be
when Bruno and Shmuel die together within a gas chamber, which symbolises that

the holocaust with the approach it has done, and doesn t make the audience frustrated
or annoyed at the main character unlike Boy In The Striped Pyjamas with all the
Essay On Oppression In America
In a capitalist world, a person can find themselves under various forms of
oppression depending upon what kind of identity they have. A person can be poor,
outside of the normative religion, outside of the normative race, or outside of the
normative perceptions of what success can look like. The struggle to survive and
overcome the oppression of these implicit and explicit norms is liberation.
However, individuals occupy more than one identity. There are black men, native
women, rich people of color, poor immigrants, and gay, middle class, black people.
Each of these multiple identities experiences their own forms of oppression.

However, he recognized the extra level of discrimination that was faced by black

America, is the black woman (Who Taught You To Hate Yourself).
Though he was subject to the torment of being a black man in America, he saw that
his male traits may have offered him some protections in comparison to his
feminine counterparts. To some extent, he saw that despite his own experiences, he
had privileges conferred on him because of his gender. This is where the single axis

One of the biggest critiques of modern feminism is that it does not address the
specific oppressions that come from being a black woman in America. While it is
often held that women are paid 78 cents on the dollar compared to men doing the
same job, that number is even more disparate when combining racial factors (http:/

Book Review over Washington s Spies Essay
The Truth About Washington s Spies
Madeline Carlson America s first spy ring, better known as the Cupler ring, was
Washington s carefully thought out solution to gain intelligence on the
overpowering British troops. The revolution was happening; there was no turning
back and no denying that America was going to gain independence from Great
Britain. Washington needed a plan, a way to foresee what the British planned to do
next. Washington s only solution was to resort to spying. Washington desperately
needed to gain intelligence of General William Howe s next plan of attack, however
there were few who wanted to risk partaking in such a dishonorable task as spying.

The tales show anything from the exciting tales of close encounters to the invisible
ink and coded messages to the life of deception Washington s spies embraced. Rose
not only reveals the exciting tales of danger, but also shows how the deceptive spies
and Washington gained mutual trust through the difficult situations.
Rose s thesis statement declared how honor affected the spies who were a part of the
Culper ring. He first mentioned honor in the first chapter, quoting Nathan Hale,
Spying, he agreed, was not an honorable undertaking, but if the exigencies of my
country demand a peculiar service its claims to perform that service are imperious.
The spying game was not considered gentlemen s work, for the title spy was
dishonorable in itself. Throughout the book, Rose proved his thesis by mentioning
how it affected each of the members described in his book along with some internal
conflict they had about it. Rose concluded the book with an epilogue sharing how
each of the spies lived their lives after the war was over, and how many could return
to their normal lives without the criticism of partaking in Washington s dishonorable
tasks.
Rose s tales evaluated how the individuals themselves, in a way, altered history. Each
individual in the Culper ring motivated history and altered what could have been in
some way. Whether Nathan Hale s death made him a revolutionary hero, or Benjamin
Tallmadge s idea of the Culper ring each

This lab will record the growth process of embryo rescue in a hormone free media.
The results on the percentages of attempts that resulted in the isolation of an intact
embryo was 33%. This is due to the fact that this was the first time that I performed
an embryo rescue, and made a few mistakes along the way. The first mistake that
occurred was that I cut too deep into the endosperm, and cut into the embryo itself (a
few times). Another mistake that was made was that I found it hard to cut into the
seeds while using the forceps, without losing the seed.
The percentage of intact embryos that developed into a plant was 33%, meaning the
only one out of the three sprouted.
The changes that occurs during the progression from dormant embryo to active
growth is that the crown becomes a reddish color, which is that is appeared on most
Wayfaringtree Viburnum. The red crown is due to the flavonoids that are apparent in
the molecular structure.
Since Wayfaringtree Viburnum has to go through the cold stratification to break
dormancy, the mechanism practice that would have to take place would have to
be a type of refrigeration or freezing process. This process is done for 8 10 weeks of
holding temperature of 4В° C. These orthodox seed will be placed in a refrigerator to

The Food And Beverage Industry
This case study deals with measuring the immeasurable in the food and beverage
industry such as smell and taste. The problem was resolved using a Six Sigma
DMAIC problem solving methodology. The basic equation of Six Sigma, Y = f(x),
defines the relationship between a dependent variable Y or the outcome of a process
and a set of independent variables x or possible causes which affect the outcome. The
Company The food and beverage industry faces many problems when implementing
improvement projects. This industry has a difficult time obtaining reliable data
dealing with soft attribute such as taste, smell and texture. CTQs (Critical to Quality)
are important to any company because they are parameters that relate to the wants
and needs of the customer. This project deals with the Kano model, which is a
method a company uses for deciding which attributes they want to include in their
product. In the food and beverage industry the Kano model shows taste and smell is a
must have attribute. The traditional method of measuring taste and smell are by
human panels. However, this method is very time consuming, costly, and limited in
the number of samples that can be tested. Other alternatives to human panels are E

Power Corrupts, and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely
There are many examples, throughout history, of leaders who have been corrupted
with power. For example, people like Hitler and Napoleon have all committed
shameful actions in the hopes of gaining absolute power. Authority, or simply the
desire of control, can cause people to act in incomprehensible ways. Throughout the
play Macbeth, written by playwright Shakespeare, the desire for absolute power is
the main driving force for the two main characters, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.

it by whatever means necessary. Power had corrupted the thoughts, actions and

In addition, to Lady Macbeth plotting Duncan s death, Macbeth had also been
corrupted with power because he continued to kill innocent people after Duncan s
murder. The prophecy was for Macbeth to become king of Scotland and the only
obstacle in his path was Banquo. Banquo had also been given a prophecy and that
was for his generations to become king of Scotland. Macbeth desired forhis

Banquo from coming true, Macbeth hires men to kill Banquo and his son Fleance.
The following quote illustrates this situation: It is concluded. Banquo, thy soul s

Macbeth has seen what the witches predicted came true and now seeks to prevent
what they said about Banquo. However, Macbeth continued to do these sickening
acts because he believed that his actions would lead to the prophecy coming true.
Furthermore we see this when Macbeth says: Stars, hide your fires; / Let not light
see my black and deep desires (1.IV). This passage is important because it shows
premeditation on Macbeth s part. Somewhere he suspects that his black heart will
be revealed, and the world will know of his crimes. Macbeth hopes that his crimes
will go unpunished. Still, he does not want the stars to see; he does not want their

are cheerful, dedicated, and ambitious. They strive to make a difference in the
world, and do not give up, even when they are going through tough times. These
inspirational people are Malala Yousafzai who speaks out for a girls education,
Alex Lin who wants to reduce the amount of improperly disposed electronic waste,
and Iqbal Masih, a boy who fights against child slavery. All three serve for a

My Journey Of My Life
It was in the years of my adulthood, about twelve years from my joining of the Child
s Union, and it was on my vacation; my vacation, that was, from Kim Chaek
University of Technology. The windowless transport bus halted and recoiled, alerting
me that my destination has been reached, and that I could depart to the residence of
my humble relatives in the village of Sinuiju, which was a municipal city on the very
edge of North Koreaand China. I stepped from the ancient vehicle and began the
walk towards the village s center. There, I passed copious houses of plastered white
structure and similar brown shingled roofs. Plantations were cultivated in modest
amounts despite the frigid weather, and people looked as if they had fed on the
crops. Up an inclination of crude concrete, positioned somewhat like gravel built
stairs, I greeted joyful faces of my aunt and uncle.
Kim Yeon, my nephew! It has been over fifteen years since we have seen you!
laughed my aunt, grasping my shoulder and hugging me ever so close.
Haha, yes it has Aunt Yom Hae Young. I replied, reciprocating the gesture with a
toothy grin.
Have you forgotten me Kim Yeon? My, nephew, you have grown a lot since we first
met, but surely your enthusiastic expression hasn t changed a bit! joked my uncle as
he too, initiated an burly, vigorously embrace.
Of course not Uncle! Your humor has maintained throughout the years as well; but,
what of my cousins Kok Sang Chul and Yoo Byung Chul? I said in concern for the
Themes In A Long Way Gone
These days I live in three worlds: my dreams, and the experiences of my new life,
which trigger memories from the past (Beah, 20). Ishmael Beah writes about his
journey through Sierra Leone, in his book, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy
Soldier. He describes how he escapes the Civil War of the 1990 s. The quotation is
a simple way of describing Beah s journey, such that during his time running from
the war, he feels as if he is living in different places. In the novel, Beah uses symbols
to underscore his central theme of oppression and freedom. The central theme will
be proved by analyzing Beah s cassette tapes, guns and his journey to New York City.
One of the most important things during Ishmael s journey to freedom is not only
to get away from the war going on in Sierra Leone, but the cassette tapes he values
so deeply. Early on in the novel, Ishmael and his friends are going from village to
village to get away from the rebels. Upon arriving at a village, Ishmael and his
friends got taken by these men protecting the village. The boys had their pockets
emptied to make sure they had no weapons. Ishmael says that [t]he guards walked

Essay On Hydor Locket
As a water nymph, Hydor was always underestimated. She was looked at as weak
and petite, but deep in her heart she knew she was strong. Hydor excelled as a
young water nymph and her powers over water were substantial. She desired to be a
god like her hero, Poseidon. As the daughter of Merella, the queen of the sea, Hydor
never thought that she would be anything more than just a princess. Hydor awoke
from her slumber and took her morning swim throughout the underwater kingdom.
A sparkle in the distance caught her eye and she rushed towards it. It was a heart
shaped locket that belonged to her grandmother. She hurried back to the lavish
palace where her family resides. Hydor showed the locket to her mother, and
Merella snatched it from her child s grasp. Merella ordered Hydor to return to her
room. The mischievous queen kept the locket for herself... Show more content on

In the days of Julius Caesar, it was Marc Antony who was the second most
powerful figure in Roman politics. He was a subordinate to Julius Caesar in the
command of his armies and he was an influential figure in Roman politics.
Antonius becomes a tribune of the people, an office with considerable political
power; include veto power over legislation passed by the Senate. With this Marc
Antony, being a high political figure, he served in a tribune, a group designed to
represent the rights of lower class Roman citizens. Soon after, Marc Antony is
elected one of the two consuls of Rome; chief officer, this was the highest legal
administrative office in the Roman government. Therefore, Marc Antony was
appointed into the government, making him a high political figure and looked up

Compare the way love is presented in Sonnet 43 and Ghazal
Both poems, Sonnet 43 and Ghazal convey emotions and passionate feelings of
love in different ways. Sonnets and Ghazals are poem that are meant to express
strong feelings of love. Khalvati and Barrett Browning chose them to illustrate their
loving feelings to their lovers. Barrett Browning does not correctly carry out all the
rules of Sonnets in her poem which gives an effect that she would do anything for
her lover and that there are no rules to their love, whereas Khalvati does not break
any of rules in Ghazal, this might, perhaps mean that her love is unrequited and that
she would follow all the rules to get the attention of the person she loves.

She says that she loves him to the depth and breadth and height, which indicated
that her love is long lasting. The image by sun and candlelight that Barrett
Browning creates, is that her love may be ordinary like the sun, but its continuous
since the light keeps shining day and night, which is why she uses the candlelight
to represent the light she has for him is still on at night. Another image that Barrett
Browning conveys is I love thee freely, as men strive for Right, I love thee purely,
as they turn from Praise . This line shows that her love for him is of her own free
choice and she compares it to the nationalists that fight for their countries, indicating
that their love is as strong as a person s love is to their country. Barrett Browning
also says, I love thee with the passion, put to use/In my old greifs... and with my

This amounts to approximately $0.83 per share in the merged firm. The market

Essay on Satire in How to Poison the Earth
How to poison the earth by Linnea Saukko can be seen in two different aspects.
The first one would be by looking at it in a literal way, in which it will make it a
very harsh, inhumane and cold text. On the other hand, it could be seen as a satire,
sarcastic and ironic text in which Saukko expects to catch the reader s attention.
Saukko exaggerates the sarcasm, and satire in her writing in order to make the
readers realize and understand the main purpose of her essay, which is to warn
readers about threats to the future of our planet.
Scientific terms are used frequently through out the text, but are followed by
explanations in a coherent way, hence it makes it clearer and more understandable to

Saukko gives numerous examples and statistics on how the United States is polluting
the world. Ironically, she mentions several strategic points that will help pollute the
world, such as dumps, landfills, rivers, lagoons, lakes, and oceans. In addition, she
suggests that polluting the air is essential in this process and the best way to do so is
through combustion and evaporation. She sarcastically reminds us that we have to
continuously pollute, otherwise, the wind and rain will cleanse the earth. By
polluting the air, acid rain will be formed and affect also the animals on the lakes.
She also argues ironically that contaminating rivers is a hard task because they act as
a cleansing system for the earth and that no matter how hard we try to contaminate
them, they will transport all the pollution towards the oceans. She reminds us that
Oceans are very hard to contaminate because they have a large volume and a natural
tendency to reduce contamination. Therefore, we should use the ocean as a dumpling
place.
Saukko has a unique way on phrasing words. For example, Saukko mentions that
Because the lower atmosphere can cleanse itself fairly easily, we must explode
nuclear tests bombs that shoot radioactive particles high into the upper atmosphere
(Saukko, 247). Once again, the sarcasm and satire can be seen clearly to a point that
it becomes humorous. The word choice she uses becomes comical in the way that she
is suggesting methods on
Analyzing Alan Bennett s The History Boys And ...
In this essay I will be analysing how Alan Bennett s The History Boys and Educating
Rita by Willy Russell investigate the notion that all knowledge is precious whether or
not it serves the slightest human use along with how they explore the purpose of
education.
Educating Rita is about the journey of Rita, a twenty six year old working class
woman from Liverpool, entering the world of formal education through an Open
University course or as she refers to it as a degree for dishwashers . Rita s peers
disapprove of formal education. Despite this, she has a desire to learn everything
even though this could lead to rejection from her family and community. She is
simply learning for the pleasure of education and with the hope that this education
will allow her to enter a wider world.
The History boys is a journey of a group of Northern working and middle class
grammar school boys, who are aspiring to get into Oxbridge on scholarships, with
the aid of two contrasting teachers, one who believes that education is solely for the
purpose of grades and another who teaches gobbets of information for the purpose of
personal gain.
Educating Rita begins with the female protagonist Rita having difficulty entering
her professor Frank s office, I m comin in, aren t I? It s that stupid bleedin handle on
the door. You wanna get it fixed! she exclaims. This is a metaphor for the barrier
between her current status as a poorly educated working class woman and the

that abortion can be morally permissible but only in a few cases. The cases where
that I find it where it is morally permissible is when the mother doesn t have the
right qualifications to raise the child, when the woman is raped, and where it
would cause serious health issues for her and the baby that can lead up to death for
the both of them. If you were to just get an abortion because you didn t like who the

Society During The Great Depression
During the great depression I think that our society thought of themselves as
broken because of the state of our economy and the amount of people out of work.
The country was at its lowest point having taken the biggest hit to the economy
possible. Everyone looked at what was happening and saw nothing but a broken
economy and a struggling people. They had to focus on feeding themselves and
their family so when it came to time to think what their responsibility was to the
rest of the world they couldn t get over how broken they were so they were no use
to anyone else. They were to busy thinking of themselves to be of any help to any
other people. When World War two started it pulled our society together once again

Impact On Technology And Technology
The development of technology is upon the many fields of knowledge, including
historical, language learning, mathematical, etc. Every single moment of our day is
affected due to the inventions of years ago, from turning on a light switch to cooking
breakfast. An invention that still affects us today and will continue to do so is a
computer. Although the computer continues to modernize as time goes by, it has
positively impacted the way a student s technology literacy knowledge and skills are
developed for professional success. Writing tools, such as pen and paper, has
modernized to meet our essential needs in a classroom environment. Technology
continues to advance so much that we could not live a day without it like a writer
cannot live without writing. Although personal computers were not initially meant
for word processing either, through that has become one of their primary functions
(Baron 646). When computers were first introduced in a classroom environment,
teachers feared students would forget how to properly spell, but now teachers
complain if students do not double check their spelling when turning in their papers.
A student s literacy knowledge and skills development are not only advancing in
spelling, but their vocabulary is expanding as well. Success in literacy is measured
by what a student can do with it, not what they know about texts and print. Having a
computer in hand gives us access to synonyms and/or antonyms along with many
more tools developing a
The Perfect Society In Arthur Miller s City On A Hill
Not So Perfect
In today s society, City on a Hill, is a cliche, a quaint romantic notion of an ideal
society, but for the Puritans of the 17th century, the City on a Hill was much more. It
represented a tangible goal of moral ambition, achievable through purity of thought
and action. In Arthur Miller s The Crucible , the City on a Hill that Puritans refer to
suggests that their way of living life is perfect, including that all people should be
devoted to God. Citizens had many strict restrictions, however it was these
restrictions towards certain things that made the Puritans believe that they were
living in a perfect society. The Puritans of Salem took the basic Puritan philosophy to
the extreme, becoming intolerant, suspicious, and rigid in their way of living life.
The Puritans desire to live a life that was perfect, a City on a Hill, actually created an
imperfect society.
In The Crucible, the Puritans of Salem allow their suspicion and fear of witchcraft to
derail their attempts at creating a City on a Hill . Following the death of Mrs.
Putnam s children, her pain and jealousy lead to the
What Is The Frontier Hero In James Fenimore Cooper s

The key traits of the frontier hero are simple, the frontier hero, represented by
Hawkeye in James Fenimore Cooper s Last of the Mohicans, is characterised by his
ability to exist both in the realm of nature and civilization, thus allowing him to
master the wilderness and expand the frontier further, creating America. In James
Fenimore Coopers version of the frontier hero, the element of race is important and
highlight exactly what Cooper believes a hero should be. In Cooper s literary reality
race dictates the opportunities and abilities of each of his characters, to firmly
establish where these traits originate and their place within civilization. On the lower
end of the civilized spectrum is the indigenous people that exist within the novel.
Cooper provides the reader with ample description of the Indian through Uncas
and his father, who are characterised by Cooper to be the noble savages. They are
unable to participate within white settler society, but do possess a deep
understanding of the wilderness. Cooper regularly emphasizes their savage
appearance that has an air of neglect , but also characterizes them as individuals who
can move noiselessly through the wilderness, like they are a part of that uncivilized
world (24). This characterization is contrasted with the representation of the other
end of the civilization spectrum Major Duncan Heyward. Major Duncan Heyward is
depicted to be a man of great civilized ability, but when cast into the wilderness is

How Does Sugar Sweetened Drinks Affect Children
In the last 40 years, there have been incidences of increased use of SSBs the

Economic
Social Classes In The 19th Century
If the lower classes are not controlled it will be hard to maintain the social structure
and prevent internal conflict. In most societies throughout World History, a small,
rich ruling class has dominated the social and political aspects of society. The large
majority of the population has always been in the lower classes of society, and
controlling these classes through fear, brute force, economic oppression or
appeasement is instrumental to maintain order. Failing to maintain control often
leads revolts, social upheavals or violent class struggles. While in most societies the
upper classes attempted to control lower classes, some were not successful. In the
Roman Empire slaves were subjected to difficult work and conditions. This led to

In these cases, those with power and wealth, failed to satisfy or control the masses

was maintained, due to those with power controlling the lower classes. An example
of this occurs in India, starting around 1000 B.C.E. The caste system helped to

Quiet and unassuming, a modest looking house lies in the middle of a vast, empty
plain, located away from the city and close to the pastoral natural world. Separated
from the forceful influences of conformity, but still in touch with the surrounding
world, this house is free to think, feel, and experience as it pleases. That s because this
house represents more than the entirety of its physical and visual features; it is a
metaphor for my memories, ambitions, secrets, feelings, and emotions. This house is
my mind my perilous, intelligent, and unabashedly curious mind. Even from afar, it
is distinguishable from its environment. But the true beauty of my unique house can
only be seen on the inside, which contains numerous rooms, corridors,

Definitional issues: entrepreneurship, micro enterprise and rurality Numerous
definition of entrepreneurship can also be found in the literature. Hisrich and Peters
(1998) define entrepreneurship as the process of creating something new with value
by devoting the necessary time effort assuming the accompanying financial, physic
and social risks and receiving the resulting rewards of monetary and personal
satisfaction and independence while Zacharis et al (2000) define entrepreneurship as
any attempt to create a new business enterprise or to expand existing business by an
individual, ateam individuals or an established business . Micro enterprises are
typically defined as very small, informally run businesses, involved in activities other
than crop production. In the United States, Canada and Britain, small scale business
is defined according to the number of paid employees and total annual turnover. In
Britain for example, businesses with an annual sales of ВЈ2 million or less and have
less than 200 paid employees will be classified as small scale business. In
Malaysia, small enterprise covers all enterprises employing between 5 49 workers;
medium scale enterprise employs between 50 199 workers and large enterprise has
more than 200 employees. Micro enterprise employs less than 5 workers and is
normally treated as an informal sector under the Ministry of States and Regional
Development. There are still
The Death Of A Heart
The earth pulsated with every beat, every moment the lines dashed up and down on
the screen; a life hanging in the balance of that steady sound. With every stroke
piercing the silence of the white halls, echoing the ethereal rhythm of the living and
taunting the abyss with the presence of life. The beating of a heart.
He laid glued to the cobbled pavement as the droning traffic buzzed and staggered
in front of him. Unblinking, unmoving, his gaze transfixed to the brick shaped
crevices on the ground. He was walled in an orb of fear, a cascading mass of
turmoil etched in the furrowed creases of his brow and forehead. His hands reached
out to the cool of his stethoscope. Grasping it firmly in hands, he veiled it away, into
his crimson coat.
The city screamed with life, but the emptiness he felt still drummed through the
tight walls of his head. The swamping rush of emotion crept under his face;
contorting it in an all consuming wrath. His nostrils flaring, his eyes flashing and
closing into slits, his mouth quivering, slurring inaudible words that came spewing
into space like a volcano emancipating the pent up emotions into the void. The pain
was unbearable. He couldn t stop it. He didn t know how. Grief and regret trailed
down his face in two orderly lines, leaking away the dignity that resided in his veins.
Soaking the earth with humanity s grief for the dead.

Abstract
Europe, the world s third continent in population is the second smallest continent by
area and encompasses more than 50 sovereign countries. Parts of Europe are also
some of the busiest airspaces in the world. It is inevitable that these countries have to
work closely together to optimize the use of airspace as well as the collection and
dissemination of weather information for civil aviation. The twenty seven countries
of the European Union (EU), Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein but
also other countries in the region cooperate in various multinational organizations
with different formations.

Europe s regulatory and organizational framework
Meteorological Services to International Air Navigation is on a global scale regulated
by two specialized agencies of the United Nations (UN): the World Meteorological
Organization (WMO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The
WMO is the UN system s authoritative voice on the state and behavior of the Earth s
atmosphere, its interaction with the oceans, the climate it produces and the resulting
distribution of water resources (VWO, n.d) and (Yan, 2010). Via the Aeronautical
Meteorology Program (AeMP) the WMOs objective is to warrant a global reliable
availability of timely, cost effective and high quality meteorological services to
aviation (VWO, n.d). The WMO provides relevant regulations in the Technical
Regulations (WMO No.49) Volume II for Meteorological Service to International Air
Navigation. This publication is nearly identical to ICAOs Annex 3 to the Convention
on International Civil Aviation (WMO 2015). In addition to the Technical
Regulations the WMO creates and provides documentation on how to implement the
standard and recommended practices to its members on how to use meteorological
instruments at aeronautical meteorological
Social Class And The Middle Class Essay
Social class can be defined as a social construct which is used to describe a group of
people with similar levels of wealth, influence and status. They tend to have
dramatically different values and mannerisms to others groups, for example, the
working class are seen as uneducated and unskilled workers, whereas the middle
class are seen as highly educated people with high incomes (Harcourt, 2016). Despite
there being other social classgroups, including, the upper class, this essay will
explore the portrayal of the working class, lower class, also known as the underclass
, and the middle class in reality television, using the example of Wife Swap.
The working class and the lower class groups have been increasingly visible on
British television screens in recent years, mainly because the increasingly popular
genre of reality television features them heavily (Morley, 2009). Debates have
sparked on whether the use of ordinary people on such programmes is
democratising or exploitative. It could be argued that because the working class
were not on such programmes, audiences and society therefore had no access to
them and their lifestyles. However, the great exposure of working classes on reality
television programmes now provides access to them and allows people to observe
and judge how they behave and how they live.
It is not a recent discovery that disadvantaged individuals, families and communities
are portrayed in negative lights by the media (Crossley and Slater, 2014),
Elizabeth I, Monarch Of England, And Marie De L ...
Elizabeth I, monarch of England, and Marie de l Incarnation, a French nun, both
invoked God and other forms of religious power to stake their claims to authority.
Elizabeth s role as a queen came at a time when her country was going through
political turmoil. Marie s role as a missionary in New France was to civilize the
indigenous people. Although working to better their countries, both of these writers
are vastly different due to their social positions. While Elizabeth had the substantial
task of ruling over her country, Marie was serving her country as a missionary;
however, both writers utilize religionto accomplish their various duties.
Marie utilized her understanding of religion and the Native s understanding of
religion to build a relationship built on trust. She arrived in modern day Quebec in
the late 1630 s as a missionary from her country to educate and civilize the Natives
there to match European traditions. Marie found similarities with the indigenous
people as even though they didn t have a God, they had their own forms of worship.
In Letter 65 to her son, she answers his questions regarding the Savages beliefs on
divinity. Certain ones adored the sun and offered its sacrifices. Others had recourse
to certain spirits who they said provided over the woods but all obeyed their dreams
as a divinity (Marie, 368). Even though the Natives did not have any exposure to the
True God before they met the Europeans, they still believed in some sort of higher
Zara Is A Modern Day Fashion Business Model
Zara is a modern day fashion business that takes an unconventional approach in their
business model. Zara is one of the largest international fashion companies which
belongs to the distribution group called inditex. They sell well made relatively cheap
pieces of clothing that is always cut according to the latest fashiondesigned. Their
customers are the heart of their designs, productions, distribution and sales. Just like
all fashion companies, their primary goal is to be the number one fashion retailer. To
obtain that success, their new business model challenges the industry and pushes
them ahead of their competitors. Zara unique approach to fast fashionpays off as
many other brands are trying to follow their success. What sets Zara apart from
other modern businesses is that, their business model is to react to fashion trends
as quickly as possible. Zara adapt quickly to current trends and fashion that the
public demand. Their goal is create fresh new trendy design almost every one to
two weeks that will be ready to be produced and shipped. Their primary goal in
creating these new sketches is not only to identify trends but to evolve and never
repeat their designs. Zara s company s strategy involves stocking their inventory
very little and updating their collection often. This benefits them because it makes
the shopper feel like they have to buy the item, or else it would be sold out later on.
Zara s risk taking strategy has proven to work because according to
Music in the Great Gatsby Film Remake
In the Great Gatsby movie soundtrack, Jay Z, the soundtrack s executive producer,
compiled an excellent variety of modern day songs in this movie reflecting the
1920 s era. The songs chosen for this film would be most characterized as songs of
love, romance, extravagance, grandeur, high society, mystery and many other
qualities. These traits of song themes were chosen for this soundtrack as well as
modern day songs twisted into a 1920 s melody. Jay Z did an excellent job of
doing so. Although all the songs were excellent and connected very well to the
movie, there were two songs in the soundtrack that really caught my eye for various
reasons. Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey, a modern day song, was best chosen
for the lovescenes and can be a song that tells about Daisy s perspective. Another
piece of music which was composed in the time period of when this story is told is
Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. Its power, grandeur, as well as elements of
surprise fit very well in several scenes in the movie. Young and Beautiful by Lana Del
Rey, a modern day song, was best chosen for the love scenes and can be a song that
tells about Daisy s perspective. Every single line of this song can be interpreted in a
way into the story. In the verses of the song, it s talking about how Daisy would
describe her experiences especially with Gatsby and how she s full of riches. Daisy
has seen the world, done it all... seen the world, lit it up as her stage now , describing

Example Of Remembrance In Research

paragon is in the book, Hiroshima the survivor, Dr. Sasaki, lost his glasses in the

though he went through a similar experience as others. During this time, he did not

Vard The Evolution Of The Film Genre
Films are divided by different genres a French word meaning type or kind (Neale
Stephen, 7), including melodrama, comedy, and tragedy. Genre has occupied an
important place in the study of the cinema for over thirty years. One of the biggest
genres that has been evolved over the years and has many implications is
melodrama. As a theatrical genre, melodrama came into existence in the late
eighteenth century in France and Germany (Neale Stephen, 184). In the following
century melodrama genre has spread and developed quick from France to Britain,
America, and the rest of Europe. The melodrama initial definition was both formal
and specific: melodrama was a dramatic passage, scene or play in which at first

SMOOTH MUSCLE:
Skeletal Muscle Structure: skeletal muscles cells are like long fiber structures, That
contain many nuclei and are subdivided into smaller structures that are called
myofibrils . The Myofibrils are created of two kinds of myofilaments . Thin filaments
are made of two strands of the protein actin and one strand of a regulatory protein
coiled with each other. Thick filaments are staggered arrays of myosin molecules . *
Organization Units of skeletal muscle. Filaments are organized into structures called
the sarcomeres . Sarcomeres are created in the following manners: * The Z lines
are at the border of the sarcomere . They align in adjacent myofibrils . *The I bands
are areas that are near the edges of the sarcomere containing only thin filament. * The
A bands are regions where thick and thin filaments overlap each other and correspond
to the length of the thick filament.* The H zones are the areas in the center of the A
bands containing only thick filament. In vertebrates Cardiac Muscles: are only found
in the heart. Muscles cells are branched, and the junctions between the cells contain
intercalated discs that electrically connect all heart muscle cells with each other,
allowing the co ordinated actions. These cells can also create their own action
potentials. In Smooth Muscles: There are no striations and contain less myosin; the
myosin is not associated with specific actin strand.

Partly Concurring, Partly Dissenting Opinion: Anton If she wants to kill three pretenders, no blood at all is needed. She d already seen that Balon, Robb, and Joffrey would die, so the burning of the leeches with the blood of Edric Storm was just a mummer s trick. If she wants to conjure up strong winds, the non royal sacrifice of Alester Florent suffices. Now, if she wants to wake dragons from stone as per the Azor Ahai prophecy it depends on your interpretation of the prophecy. For hatching fossilized eggs, you really need (some type of) Valyrian blood to be present, as it s likely that the genome of the Valyrians has been modified to make this possible. The same... We are told that there are about 6,000 people there (twice the number of Tormund s group), so saving their lives and preventing them from turning into wights should be a huge priority for the Night s Watch. Not to mention the intelligence that can be gathered through this mission. Moreover, Jon has been very resourceful in gathering the eleven ships he sent there under the command of Cottor Pyke. However, he should have realized that sending this ragtag fleet wouldn t be enough. Some ships wouldn t make it, and there wasn t enough room for 6,000 people to begin with. Instead of waiting for this attempt to succeed or fail, he should have sent a small ranging party over there as well. He could have made it one of the conditions in his negotiation with Tormund, that a group of wildlings be sent to Hardhome (as well as to camps in the mountains beyond the Shadow Tower) in order to convince the people there to come to the Wall. In the case of Hardhome, this might have been successful. The people there might have lost faith in Mother Mole after the visit of the Lyseni slavers, and be willing to come. The big land ranging Jon proposes in his last chapter in ADWD is too late, and if it were to go through, it s likely that the Others would corner them on Storrold s
  • 5. Essay about Analyzing and Improving Multimodality in the... The purpose of my memory artifact is to argue that epic poetry is a form of memory representation used to portray the collective memory of a nation and a civilization. An Epic poem is a long narrative poem that deals with an event significant or important to a culture or nation. I believe my presentation was quite successful since I was able to get my message across and make a connection with the audience. However, my presentation only incorporated the visual and oral components of WOVEN and failed to stand alone by itself. My presentation could be enhanced by fully utilizing the Prezi s features by highlighting key ideas, adding colored fonts and by elaborating on definitions and historical contexts. I wanted to do my presentation with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My Prezi mainly used two modes of communication. It was an interaction between oral and visual form of communication. My Prezi began with the topic of my memory artifact. The presentation was constructed on two images, which were posters of Beowulf and Sir Gawain. These two images served as a background. I had a lot of zooming features in my presentation, which zoomed into different parts of the background to show the minimized images and the key point to take away from the illustration. So, the Prezi first discussed key characteristics of an epic poem. For each characteristic there was a picture or an example explaining what the characteristic was talking about. For example, my presentation touched on how epic poetry always started in medias res (middle of things) and to illustrate the characteristic I had a picture of Satan burning in hell after losing his battle to god, which was how Paradise Lost began. After going through the characteristics, the Prezi just had some key points that helped me make my point. So, I elaborated on how epic poetry was a representation of collective memory, which tied with the beginning of my presentation (I started off by stating my thesis). Also, in my conclusion, I achieved a closure to my presentation by not only addressing key points to the presentation but by also further expanding the thesis by discussing the importance of collective memory and how epic poetry successfully captured the importance. I made sure I was talking to the
  • 6. Humanity In Frankenstein Could the creature be more human than his creature? In Frankenstein, written by Mary Wollstoncraft Shelly, Victor Frankenstein acts more like a monster than his creature. The creature could have been kind if only mankind didn t treat him like a monster he looks like. Some or all of the deaths could have been avoided if the creature felt like he was treated kindly. Frankensteinhates his creation from the moment of animation. A mummy again endued with animation could not be so hideous as that wretch (Shelly 59). Frankenstein was the first to judge the creature be his looks. He held up the curtain of the bed; and his eyes, if eyes they may be called, were fixed on me. His jaws opened, and he muttered some inarticulate sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks. He might have spoken, but I did bit hear; one hand was stretched out seeming to detain me, but I escaped, and rushed downstairs (Shelly 59). The creature acted as a child in its early years towards Frankenstein and he looked at everything the creature did with a negative perspective causing fear and for him to run out of the room. There is the perception of how people view or understand certain demeanors. Next, a behavior may be considered illegal in the eyes of the law and it may also be viewed as immoral, unethical or inappropriate in the eyes of the people. Moreover, deviant behavior is conceptualized in the eyes of the public even when an act is not illegal. On the other hand, wearing saggy pants is a matter of free will and of choice. It is part of a person s identity. Why would wearing pants that show underwear be considered deviant? Feldman(1984) indicates, norms are enforced to show people what type of behaviors are accepted within a members of society. Furthermore, this raises the point in asking the question, why there are no rules against women wearing revealing tops? In my opinion, I think it s just a matter of choice and how members of a society view such acts which are not criminalistic. I believe that sagging may be more predominant in lower classes such as college freshmen because they are just getting out of high school and may still be more involved in the trendy urban fashion statements. Next, in regards to sagging being used by upper level classmen such as seniors, I think that they would tend to use less of sagging pants because of their age and maturity level. In the same fashion, I believe school dropouts would tend to sag more than medical doctors because of the difference in professionalism. In my opinion, doctors are professionals and are not trying to look cool or make a fashion statement. In addition, I believe that some dropouts would have a lesser sense of ethical and acceptable morals. But, at the same time, I still find wearing specific styles of clothing is a matter of choice. I think that the answer to this question may take on
  • 8. Compare And Contrast Diet Soda Vs Regular Soda There is a 54.5% greater risk of obesity for those who drink one to two cans of diet soda each day, in comparison with 32.8% percent for those who drink the same amount of regular soda (Avery). Many people believe that if you are going to choose between diet soda and regular soda, diet soda is the no brainer choice. Seeing the word diet on anything automatically makes you think this must be healthy. The problem is that manufacturers like to mislead consumers into thinking that their diet product is a healthier version of their original. When really, they are just adding chemicals to make the nutritionlabel look healthier. Diet soda is worse than regular soda because it causes many physical and psychological problems. There is a lot of High Fructose Corn Syrup, the sugar of choice, in regular sodas. People started finding out about how bad sugar is for them and how much sugar was really in their favorite every day drink. Everyone started turning against all of the soda companies and they had no choice but to come up with an alternative. So, instead of using natural sugar or High Fructose Corn Syrup in sodas, scientists invented artificial sweeteners, a way to keep the soda sweet yet contain no sugar. Artificial sweeteners like Aspartame that are added to diet soda are actually worse for us than the sugar that is in regular soda. This was proven by an Osteopathic Physician from the American Colledge of Nutrition who states, While many of the artificial sweeteners have reportedly similar side effects, aspartame accounts for over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA (Mercola). It is commonplace that diet soda is an acceptable diet food. So many people believe that by drinking diet soda they will reduce their calories and sugar intake therefore, lose weight. Even though it is not natural sugar, artificial sweeteners are just as addictive. Cheryl Forberg R.D. author of Flavor First states, when the taste buds sense sweetness, the body expects calories to come with it. There are no calories in diet soda so your body is craving calories for energy, which makes you crave food and overeat, leading to obesity (Lajollamom). In addition, many diet soda drinkers feel that

Birthright Citizenship In The Dominican Republic The Dominican Republic government for centuries granted citizenship to all children born in the country, this was known as jus soli or birthright citizenship. The Dominican Republican constitution stated, Dominicans are: All persons born in the territory of the Republic with the exception of the legitimate children of foreigners resident in the country in diplomatic representation or in transit ( Dominican Republic Constitution Politics. Finally, in 2007 after they were tired of appealing the Inter American Court of Human Rights, the Dominican Central Electoral Council officially instructed its employees to deny citizenship documents to all children born to illegal immigrants, which they named Resolution 12. Just when you thought the Dominican Central Council could not be any more malicious and inhumane, they decided in 2010 to issue a constitutional reform, which eliminated birthright citizenship in the Dominican Republic. This would be first time in Dominican history where the nationality of children born in the country to undocumented immigrant parents would be denied. However, the Constitution of 2010 itself recognizes in Article 18.2 the nationality of people who were already considered Dominican nationals prior to 2010 so the Constitutional change applies only to those born after 2010. Fast forward three years to September 23, 20013 the Dominican Constitutional Court, through resolution TC 0168/13 retroactively denied Dominican nationality to anyone born after 1929. This resolution argued that anyone who does not have at least one parent of Dominican blood, are considered undocumented immigrants which then labels them as in transit. . The Dominican Constitutional Court immediately ordered the review of the civil registry dating back to 1929. The Constitutional court stated

Alteration In Frankenstein Any baker knows that when following a recipe, there are certain ingredients that can be added in decreased or increased quantities, substituted with another ingredient, or excluded as a whole, while still not affecting the overall outcome of the recipe. On the other hand, there are other ingredients that must be measured precisely in order for the recipe to be successful. The aforementioned description holds true for literary works, as well. The success of some pieces relies heavily on a strong plot, while the success of others is found primarily from the quality of characters and setting. In containing this theme, the tale will reveal how destructive these prejudices can be to the individual, group, and society as a whole. These social prejudices were best showcased in Mary Shelley s 1818 novel Frankenstein, in which the Creature was continually judged based upon his physical appearance instead of his emotional and intellectual attributes. Not only was the Creature judged by his father, but by other characters throughout the novel including William, the DeLacey family, and other townsfolk. These prejudices took a heavy toll on the Creature, as seen through his emotional responses and his sporadic actions towards other humans. All in all, these prejudices ended up being harmful not only to the Creature, but to all whom he interacted with due to their effect on him. This theme is so vital to maintaining the Frankenstein story that it seemingly reoccurs in every adaptation that we covered this semester. However, out of all of these adaptations, Philip K. Dick s 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? undoubtedly does the best job at portraying the theme of social prejudices against one particular group. Throughout the novel, the entity of the androids was judged and looked down upon. The prejudices against androids not only affected the androids themselves but affected Rick Deckard as his life s work was terminating these androids, Iran as she didn t enjoy Deckard s profession, John

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Comparative Essay The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas written by John Boyne (2006) and Life Is Beautiful directed by Roberto Benigni (1997) are both texts about a family living through the time period of WWII and the holocaust. Both texts utilize and approach the delicate topic of WWII and the holocaust in different ways, which makes the audience react and be affected differently. But which text was most effective for conveying the events of the holocaust? The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is narrated from a child s perspective, which makes the main character (Bruno) to innocent and ignorant to notice any signs of danger, which leads to a lot of foreshadowing, and not a lot of detail. The reader has to interpret what is happening and must have some knowledge of WWII and the holocaust to understand the storyline. A person can be poor, outside of the normative religion, outside of the normative race, or outside of the normative perceptions of what success can look like. The struggle to survive and overcome the oppression of these implicit and explicit norms is liberation. However, individuals occupy more than one identity. He first mentioned honor in the first chapter, quoting Nathan Hale, Spying, he agreed, was not an honorable undertaking, but if the exigencies of my country demand a peculiar service its claims to perform that service are imperious. The spying game was not considered gentlemen s work, for the title spy was dishonorable in itself. Rose concluded the book with an epilogue sharing how each of the spies lived their lives after the war was over, and how many could return to their normal lives without the criticism of partaking in Washington s dishonorable tasks. Rose s tales evaluated how the individuals themselves, in a way, altered history. Each individual in the Culper ring motivated history and altered what could have been in some way. This is due to the fact that this was the first time that I performed an embryo rescue, and made a few mistakes along the way. The first mistake that occurred was that I cut too deep into the endosperm, and cut into the embryo itself (a few times). Another mistake that was made was that I found it hard to cut into the seeds while using the forceps, without losing the seed. The percentage of intact embryos that developed into a plant was 33%, meaning the only one out of the three sprouted. The changes that occurs during the progression from dormant embryo to active growth is that the crown becomes a reddish color, which is that is appeared on most Wayfaringtree Viburnum. The red crown is due to the flavonoids that are apparent in the molecular structure. Since Wayfaringtree Viburnum has to go through the cold stratification to break dormancy, the mechanism practice that would have to take place would have to be a type of refrigeration or freezing process. This process is done for 8 10 weeks of holding temperature of 4В° C. These orthodox seed will be placed in a refrigerator to break dormancy, and will continue to have continuous

The Company The food and beverage industry faces many problems when implementing improvement projects. This industry has a difficult time obtaining reliable data dealing with soft attribute such as taste, smell and texture. CTQs (Critical to Quality) are important to any company because they are parameters that relate to the wants and needs of the customer. This project deals with the Kano model, which is a method a company uses for deciding which attributes they want to include in their product. In the food and beverage industry the Kano model shows taste and smell is a must have attribute. The traditional method of measuring taste and smell are by human panels. However, this method is very time consuming, costly, and limited in the number of samples that can be tested. Other alternatives to human panels are E noses and E tongues. Macbeth desired forhis generations to become the kings and queens and so to stop the prophecy made to Banquo from coming true, Macbeth hires men to kill Banquo and his son Fleance. The following quote illustrates this situation: It is concluded. Banquo, thy soul s flight, / If it finds heaven, must find it out tonight (3.I). In this quote we see that Macbeth has seen what the witches predicted came true and now seeks to prevent what they said about Banquo. However, Macbeth continued to do these sickening acts because he believed that his actions would lead to the prophecy coming true. Furthermore we see this when Macbeth says: Stars, hide your fires; / Let not light see my black and deep desires (1.IV). This passage is important because it shows premeditation on Macbeth s part. Somewhere he suspects that his black heart will be revealed, and the world will know of his crimes. Macbeth hopes that his crimes will go unpunished. Still, he does not want the stars to see; he does not want their light, the fires , to illuminate either his deed or his soul. His deep desires are for

My Journey Of My Life It was in the years of my adulthood, about twelve years from my joining of the Child s Union, and it was on my vacation; my vacation, that was, from Kim Chaek University of Technology. The windowless transport bus halted and recoiled, alerting me that my destination has been reached, and that I could depart to the residence of my humble relatives in the village of Sinuiju, which was a municipal city on the very edge of North Koreaand China. I stepped from the ancient vehicle and began the walk towards the village s center. There, I passed copious houses of plastered white structure and similar brown shingled roofs. Plantations were cultivated in modest amounts despite the frigid weather, and people looked as if they had fed on the crops. Up an inclination of crude concrete, positioned somewhat like gravel built stairs, I greeted joyful faces of my aunt and uncle. Kim Yeon, my nephew! It has been over fifteen years since we have seen you! laughed my aunt, grasping my shoulder and hugging me ever so close. Haha, yes it has Aunt Yom Hae Young. I replied, reciprocating the gesture with a toothy grin. Have you forgotten me Kim Yeon? Ishmael Beah writes about his journey through Sierra Leone, in his book, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. He describes how he escapes the Civil War of the 1990 s. The quotation is a simple way of describing Beah s journey, such that during his time running from the war, he feels as if he is living in different places. In the novel, Beah uses symbols to underscore his central theme of oppression and freedom. The central theme will be proved by analyzing Beah s cassette tapes, guns and his journey to New York City. One of the most important things during Ishmael s journey to freedom is not only to get away from the war going on in Sierra Leone, but the cassette tapes he values so deeply. Early on in the novel, Ishmael and his friends are going from village to village to get away from the rebels. Ironically, she mentions several strategic points that will help pollute the world, such as dumps, landfills, rivers, lagoons, lakes, and oceans. In addition, she suggests that polluting the air is essential in this process and the best way to do so is through combustion and evaporation. She sarcastically reminds us that we have to continuously pollute, otherwise, the wind and rain will cleanse the earth. By polluting the air, acid rain will be formed and affect also the animals on the lakes. She also argues ironically that contaminating rivers is a hard task because they act as a cleansing system for the earth and that no matter how hard we try to contaminate them, they will transport all the pollution towards the oceans. She reminds us that Oceans are very hard to contaminate because they have a large volume and a natural tendency to reduce contamination. Therefore, we should use the ocean as a dumpling place. For example, Saukko mentions that Because the lower atmosphere can cleanse itself fairly easily, we must explode nuclear tests bombs that shoot radioactive particles high into the upper atmosphere (Saukko, 247). Later in the 18th century slaves in Saint Domingue revolted against the white planters and France, and fought until they gained independence. In 1810, Miguel Hidalgo led a group of peasants against the Imperial Spanish rule in Mexico and the rigid social structure in place. In the 20th century in Russia, peasants and workers tired of unfair land distribution, serfdom, poor living standards and other inequalities, started the Russian Revolution. In these cases, those with power and wealth, failed to satisfy or control the masses of lower class people which led to revolts and unrest. In other instances, civil order was maintained, due to those with power controlling the lower classes. An example of this occurs in India, starting around 1000 B.C.E. The caste system helped to

Carse to the Coast Guard Academy Class of 2022. 2.I have known Jacob and his family since 2012 when I was stationed with his father on the LANTAREA staff. I was immediately taken with his maturity and focus. Even at such a young age, Jacob was already expressing his desire to study mechanical engineering and displayed a passion to serve in the military, though initially he was torn between the Naval and Coast Guard Academies. 3.Over the years, Jacob has continued to maintain that high level of determination as he developed an impressive resume that focused on three pillars; academics, athletics and serving his community. Undoubtedly, this tireless drive to better himself and to serve others was instilled through his upbringing in a Coast Guard household where our Core Values were imprinted into his daily decision making. The nuances of being raised in a home were both his parents served in the Navy and Coast ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What makes Jacob stand out amongst other highly qualified candidates is his demonstrated resiliency which has enabled him to seamlessly continue to perform and achieve at the highest levels. While his resume shows a young man, who is in the top 8% of his class, plays multiple sports year round at the varsity and club level (unusually at the same time) and tirelessly looks to serve both his community and local Coast Guard units; there are critical pieces not captured in his resume. Having to maintain this high level of performance while completing two PCS transfers during high school and an unfortunate car accident which caused him to miss most of the first two weeks of school...as a new student his senior year...have forced Jacob to establish a repeatable plan for success. This plan is forged in having a dedicated work ethic, an unwavering commitment to staying course and a sense of humility that is only matched by his sense of

With every stroke piercing the silence of the white halls, echoing the ethereal rhythm of the living and taunting the abyss with the presence of life. The beating of a heart. He laid glued to the cobbled pavement as the droning traffic buzzed and staggered in front of him. Unblinking, unmoving, his gaze transfixed to the brick shaped crevices on the ground. He was walled in an orb of fear, a cascading mass of turmoil etched in the furrowed creases of his brow and forehead. His hands reached out to the cool of his stethoscope. Grasping it firmly in hands, he veiled it away, into his crimson coat. The city screamed with life, but the emptiness he felt still drummed through the tight walls of his head. The swamping rush of emotion crept under his face; contorting it in an all consuming wrath. His nostrils flaring, his eyes flashing and closing into slits, his mouth quivering, slurring inaudible words that came spewing into space like a volcano emancipating the pent up emotions into the void. The pain was unbearable. He couldn t stop it. He didn t know how. Grief and regret trailed down his face in two orderly lines, leaking away the dignity that resided in his veins. The WMO is the UN system s authoritative voice on the state and behavior of the Earth s atmosphere, its interaction with the oceans, the climate it produces and the resulting distribution of water resources (VWO, n.d) and (Yan, 2010). Via the Aeronautical Meteorology Program (AeMP) the WMOs objective is to warrant a global reliable availability of timely, cost effective and high quality meteorological services to aviation (VWO, n.d). • 46. Social Class And The Middle Class Essay Social class can be defined as a social construct which is used to describe a group of people with similar levels of wealth, influence and status. They tend to have dramatically different values and mannerisms to others groups, for example, the working class are seen as uneducated and unskilled workers, whereas the middle class are seen as highly educated people with high incomes (Harcourt, 2016). Despite there being other social classgroups, including, the upper class, this essay will explore the portrayal of the working class, lower class, also known as the underclass , and the middle class in reality television, using the example of Wife Swap. The working class and the lower class groups have been increasingly visible on British television screens in recent years, mainly because the increasingly popular genre of reality television features them heavily (Morley, 2009). Debates have sparked on whether the use of ordinary people on such programmes is democratising or exploitative. It could be argued that because the working class were not on such programmes, audiences and society therefore had no access to them and their lifestyles. However, the great exposure of working classes on reality television programmes now provides access to them and allows people to observe and judge how they behave and how they live. It is not a recent discovery that disadvantaged individuals, families and communities are portrayed in negative lights by the media (Crossley and Slater, 2014),

Elizabeth I, monarch of England, and Marie de l Incarnation, a French nun, both invoked God and other forms of religious power to stake their claims to authority. Elizabeth s role as a queen came at a time when her country was going through political turmoil. Marie s role as a missionary in New France was to civilize the indigenous people. Although working to better their countries, both of these writers are vastly different due to their social positions. While Elizabeth had the substantial task of ruling over her country, Marie was serving her country as a missionary; however, both writers utilize religionto accomplish their various duties. Marie utilized her understanding of religion and the Native s understanding of religion to build a relationship built on trust. She arrived in modern day Quebec in the late 1630 s as a missionary from her country to educate and civilize the Natives there to match European traditions. Marie found similarities with the indigenous people as even though they didn t have a God, they had their own forms of worship. In Letter 65 to her son, she answers his questions regarding the Savages beliefs on divinity. Certain ones adored the sun and offered its sacrifices. Others had recourse to certain spirits who they said provided over the woods but all obeyed their dreams as a divinity (Marie, 368). Even though the Natives did not have any exposure to the True God before they met the Europeans, they still believed in some sort of higher

Music in the Great Gatsby Film Remake In the Great Gatsby movie soundtrack, Jay Z, the soundtrack s executive producer, compiled an excellent variety of modern day songs in this movie reflecting the 1920 s era. The songs chosen for this film would be most characterized as songs of love, romance, extravagance, grandeur, high society, mystery and many other qualities. These traits of song themes were chosen for this soundtrack as well as modern day songs twisted into a 1920 s melody. Jay Z did an excellent job of doing so. Although all the songs were excellent and connected very well to the movie, there were two songs in the soundtrack that really caught my eye for various reasons. Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey, a modern day song, was best chosen for the lovescenes and can be a song that tells about Daisy s perspective. Another piece of music which was composed in the time period of when this story is told is Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. Its power, grandeur, as well as elements of surprise fit very well in several scenes in the movie. SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SELETAL, CARDIAC, AND SMOOTH MUSCLE: Skeletal Muscle Structure: skeletal muscles cells are like long fiber structures, That contain many nuclei and are subdivided into smaller structures that are called myofibrils . The Myofibrils are created of two kinds of myofilaments . Thin filaments are made of two strands of the protein actin and one strand of a regulatory protein coiled with each other. Thick filaments are staggered arrays of myosin molecules . * Organization Units of skeletal muscle. Filaments are organized into structures called the sarcomeres . Sarcomeres are created in the following manners: * The Z lines are at the border of the sarcomere . They align in adjacent myofibrils . *The I bands are areas that are near the edges of the sarcomere containing only thin filament. * The A bands are regions where thick and thin filaments overlap each other and correspond to the length of the thick filament.* The H zones are the areas in the center of the A bands containing only thick filament. In vertebrates Cardiac Muscles: are only found in the heart. Muscles cells are branched, and the junctions between the cells contain intercalated discs that electrically connect all heart muscle cells with each other, allowing the co ordinated actions. These cells can also create their own action potentials. In Smooth Muscles: There are no striations and contain less myosin; the myosin is not associated with specific actin strand.
