1) What is the Disney Difference and how will it affect the company s corporate,
competitive and functional strategies?
The Disney differences are high quality creative content, backed up by a clear
strategy for maximizing that content`s value across platforms and markets . Not
only that, it also it is the undisputed long lasting champion of all vacation
destinations in general, and theme parks in particular. That reason is that they do it
all right, and no one else comes close. For sure, Disney Difference will affect the
company s corporate, competitive and functional strategies in a positive way. The

Other than that Disney also used business strategy to achieve and differ from others.
The definition of corporate and business strategy is not a separation but rather a
hierarchy. If a firm is successful in executing its business strategy, it will be
triumphant in the overall corporate strategy like how Disney achieve. In this
hierarchy, the next level is functional strategy, which identifies functional decisions
for R amp;D, personnel, finance, production, and sales and marketing. As the firm
gets larger, the distinction between functional and business tactic grows and achieve
superior place.
2) What challenges do you think Disney might face in doing business in Russia?
How could Iger and his top management team use planning to best prepare for those
challenges?
A challenge for Walt DisneyCo. would be the unexploited and Low economic
situations and to control and large number of audience in Russia. To face the
challenges in Russia Disney top management team need to create a goal to become
successful. They need to create a short term and long term plan on this project of
launching a Disney channel. Instead of traditional goal setting this company needs to
use management by objectives, a process of setting mutually agreed upon goals and
using those goals to evaluate employee performance. Disney need to apply a
3. A Shape In Truman Capote s A Christmas Story
There must be something to fruitcake. It appears at Christmas every year without
fail. And yet, it s also the brunt of some serious jokes. (Who can forget Johnny
Carson proclaiming that there is only one fruitcake in the entire world: It just gets
passed around a lot...)
But thankfully, that s not all there is to it, according to Smithsonian.com. In Truman
Capote s A Christmas Story, some weather officially counts as fruitcake weather,
which attests to this seasonal concoction s staying power and unique deliciousness.
Truth be told, fruitcake in some form goes all the way back to the Romans, who
mixed up raisins, pomegranate seeds, barley, and a plethora of nuts to form what
was probably history s first energy bar. Along the way, people began to add spices.
And rum. And even some melted butter and sugary glazing. It seems that the butt of
many people s Christmas jokes is actually quite delicious. It s just that its reputation
hasn t quite caught up with the truth of this holiday treat.
That s where you and your leftover fruitcake come in. You know it has potential to
be truly magnificent, given its long history. You just don t quite know what to do
with it. No problem. We ve collected some of the tastiest recipes for leftover
fruitcake around. We promise. They really ARE delicious. We ve tried them.
Here are some of our favorites...

4. Reasons The Trials Of Witch Trials
Were people accused of witchcraft given fair trials? In my opinion, they were not.
Based on the information gathered from the three documents, many of the men
and women accused of witchcraft were doomed before the trial even took place.
There are many reasons as to why the trials were unfair before they even started.
First, a big reason why the trials were so unfair was because of the church. They
could use their influence on society to decide who has jurisdiction over certain
areas, giving inquisitors legal power over areas they may not have otherwise had.
Another reason the trials were unfair is the suspected party did not really get to
defend themselves, and even if they tried to, they could be found guilty anyway.
However, the biggest reason I think the trials were unfair was because of the Malleus
Maleficarum, where it mentions torture of prisoners with the intention of getting
confessions. The Papal Bull of 1484 was important because it shows that Pope
Innocent VIIInot only openly acknowledged witchcraftas a threat, but also gives
encouragement to witch hunts. Desiring with supreme ardor, as pastoral solicitude
requires, that the catholic faith in our days everywhere grow and flourish as much
as possible, and that all heretical depravity be put far from the territories of the
faithful, we freely declare and a new decree this by which our pious desire may be
fulfilled, and, all errors being rooted out by our toil as with the hoe of a wise laborer,

5. Socioeconomic Status
Effects of Socioeconomic Status on Health
Megan Scarber
Streator Township High School
Effects of Socioeconomic Status on Health One major contributing factor of a person
s health is his/her socioeconomic status. The American Psychological Association
defines socioeconomic status as a person s standing in society based on their wealth
(American Psychological Association, 2017). Socioeconomic status affects a person s
health in regards to his/her diet, living conditions, health care, and mental health.
People with lower socioeconomic statuses are more likely to struggle with their health
simply because they do not have enough money or resources available to them.
People with lower socioeconomic statuses experience many health related difficulties
due to their income, and these difficulties impact them both physically and mentally.
Socioeconomic status heavily influences people s diets. The American Journal of
Clinical Nutrition also states that healthier diets are more expensive than unhealthy
diets (Darmon Drewnowski, 2008). Because of this, it is likely that people of lower
social classes simply cannot afford to have a healthy diet, especially if they are
providing for an entire family. People in lower social classes also most likely cannot
afford to go work out often, so it is especially important for them to eat healthy foods.
According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people with lower
socioeconomic statuses consume less fresh produce and
6. Symbolism In Chronicles Of A Death Foretold
The novel Chronicles of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez is symbolic
of timeless literature and film. Chronicles of a Death Foretold can be related to the
following timeless works: Julius Caesar a screenplay by William Shakespeare, Pulp
Fiction a film by Quentin Tarantino, and The Bible a religious manifest. Firstly, to
understand how the novelChronicles of a Death Foretold is symbolic of other
timeless works, a person must first understand the story of Chronicles of a Death.
The novel Chronicles of a Death Foretold is a story of adultery, murder, and deceit.

American country of Colombia. Nasar wakes up, and begins his day as he would
any other day, except... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are striking similarities between Chronicles of a Death Foretold and The
Bible. It is arguable that Santiago Nasar is symbolic of Jesus Christ. Santiago put
on a shirt and pants of white linen (page 5, Chronicles of a Death Foretold) this is
interesting, because the day Jesus was crucified he was wearing a white linen
cloth. Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and
made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was
without seam, woven from the top throughout. (John 19:23). This similarity in
clothing is indicative of Gabriel Garcia Marquez intentions for Santiago Nasar to be a
Christ figure. Jesus was killed after being nailed to a wooden crucifix, he was
impaled by a spear through his side as he hung there nailed to the cross. But one of
the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and
water (John 19:34). Jesus having his side pierced by a spear is similar to Santiago
Nasar falling onto the broken door and having a piece of wood go through his side.
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother s sister, Mary the wife of
Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. (John 19:25). As Santiago die, there on the wooden
door, his mother came and removed his body, and sat there by Santiago Nasar and
held him as he lay
7. Jane Austen s Emma And Clueless Comparison
Alex Escribano

ENGL
Emma and Clueless Comparison Jane Austen s Emma can be categorized as a
bildungsroman, better known as a coming of age tale, in which the reader follows
the title character as she comes to terms with her position in the world during the
Regency period. However, looking beyond the titular character, one can look at Emma
as a satirical work regarding the restrictions and conventions of 19th century society.
This satirical element later went on to inspire Heckerling s interpretation as she
adapted the story of Emma into the cult film, Clueless, which goes on to highlight the
phenomena of cliques amongst the youth of America. Both works use the element of
exaggeration in order to explore the gender stereotypes and expectations placed upon
society during their respective eras. Heckerling effectively takes the novel Emma and
thrusts it into the world of Beverly Hills, keeping the underlying themes while
engaging a more modern audience. Emma Woodhouse was the first heroine in Jane
Austen s novels to be free from financial concerns. She is introduced to the reader as
being, handsome, clever, and rich as well as having the power of having rather too
much of her own way and disposition to think too well of herself (Austen 1).
Despite this description of a spoiled young woman who too often gets her way, she is
not taken by personal vanity and is often genuinely compassionate to the poor.
Despite being an exception to the
8. My Values, Social Justice, Equality, And Service
I believe people figure out their values throughout their life experiences. Therefore,
everyone is figured to have different values because everyone goes through
different life experiences. Values are the implicit and explicit ideas about what we
cherish as ideal and preferable, (DuBois Miley, 2014, p 108). My personal values are
honesty, social justice, equality, and service. There has been a situation within my
life that made me valueeach one of those values. For example, I developed service
as my value by seeing my cousin give service back to the community. I use to see
him give clothing items and feed people within the community and the smile they
had on their face was priceless. Social justice is also a value of mine because it
specifically help people within the lower class. I think SNAP is a great example of
how it helps them. Service and social justice are two values of mine that are similar
to the social work values. I think it s great that I have those two values while going
into social work because it shows I am willing to help and provide opportunities for
individuals.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I volunteer at a clothing and food bank. While volunteering my peers and I provide
service of passing out food and clothes to those in need. While passing out the food

people that come to the clothing and food bank are not homeless. These are people
who have jobs but are just struggling. It humbles me a lot and let me realize that

respect like we would want to be
9. Public Policy Impact On An American Corporation
Public Policy Impact on an American Corporation Due to the differences in
mankind, issues and conflicts often occurred in history for a multiplicity of
reasons and they still will occur in the future. But to improve the quality of life for
everybody and because we are all supposed to be equal in some way, we definitely
need to create laws, draw up guidelines and develop principles that might solve
upcoming issues or at least minimize the harm for the unprivileged and socially
disadvantaged part of people. That is why I am going to write about the American
with Disabilities Act. I will give an overview of its content and go into particulars
about its history and how the act emerged. Furthermore, I will explain the benefits
affected people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The law is supposed to protect people within the United States who suffer from
physical, visual, or hearing impairments just as cognitive disabilities. The ADA act is
divided into four titles dealing with aspects of employment, state and local
governments/transportation/public services, public accommodations and
telecommunications (Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA): Summary of Key Points , 2014). The first title of the ADA
prohibits discriminative practices in the working environment. It applies to state and
local governments, to legislative and judicial branches of the Federal Government, to
employment agencies and labor unions. That means that private employers or others
of the above mentioned entities who have more than 15 employees cannot oppress
qualified occupation candidates and workers on the premise of their handicap. This
implies that it is illicit to get some information about an inability amid the
employment interview. The person who applies for a job can decide if he or she
wants to talk about an inability when requesting changes that will help in doing
something. This incorporates job restructuring and equipment modifications. If
required, managers must roll out a few improvements to empower the job candidate
with an impairment to perform the crucial elements of the employment
(Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA):
Summary of Key Points , 2014). Despite everything,
10. Media And Its Impact On Society
As the world becomes a global village due to technology our society changes with
it. We become more and more civilized that our way of life must change to match
the changes in our world. One of the most common changes that have hit our today
s society is media. Media has penetrated through all barriers including our war
fronts and areas where man never thought to have penetrated. As media develops
through the years and technology expands more media outlets open and so the
society has and continues to move away from the mainstream media (CBS, NBC,
Fox News, CNN, ABC, etc.) to local media and different websites to get their news.
The trust society had in Television and the mainstream media to provide true and
uncontaminated reports has faded and therefore society is moving away from
these to where they believe they can get news first hand. In this paper, I will
attempt to explain why in today s media many people don t just rely on the major
networks but go online for news (Local, National, and Global). Could this be
splintering our views and causing more anger? Should it be regulated? I will also
attempt to express my opinion on what the business of news is becoming in the next
ten years.
Over the years Newspapers, journals, magazines and Television had been the main
source of source of news for out American society. In recent years due to the advent of
modern technology and the internet journalism has improved and most of the media
outlet expanded the way they cover
11. Prison Management In Prison
Your absolute separation from your loved ones and society can be worth up to
$18,000 per year. At least, that s how much it s worth to the Management and
Training Corporation (MTC), who is one of the three leading private prison
management companies in the United States. Companies such as the MTC, the GEO
Group, inc., and the Correction Corporations of America (CCA) make billions of
dollars by keeping criminals locked up. The idea of making profit from prisoners
doesn t sound too inhumane of a notion until you obtain a further understanding of
the system and how it operates. Private prisonmanagement strategists understand
that the massive amounts revenue being shoveled into their corporate bank
accounts shares a correlation to the amount of prisoners incarcerated in their
prisons. It is for this reason that companies like the CCA force the contractual
obligation of minimal occupancy guarantees upon states correction departments.
These minimal occupancy guarantees make it so that if a certain states does not
incarcerate enough prisoners to occupy a set percentage (typically the high 90%
range) of a facility, that state would have to pay fees to the companies which own
the underpopulated facilities for their empty beds. This can easily cause states to
feel pressured to fulfill quotas by prosecuting substantial amounts of civilians. It is
for this reason, and many others, that the American prison system is a broken,
unprincipled network of captivity which takes its victims and leaves many of them
in a state of mental and financial despair. Prisoners in private prisons are subject to
harsh living conditions, and debilitating mental torture. They are used as pawns in a
wicked game for financial wealth, all at the expense of prisoners well being, and
taxpayers wallets. Prisons in the United States are unsanitary cesspools with loose
administration and security. Prisoners, many incarcerated for nonviolent crimes, are
subject to living in filthy facilities surrounded by murderers and rapists. Taking
advantage of prison overpopulation, private prison corporations are able to mistreat
prisoners due to many states need for extra cells. In an essay on HRW.org it is stated
that, States failed to enact laws setting

Serena Williams is currently the greatest female tennis player in the world. She holds

determination is incredible towards everything she does, which makes her a role
model to society. Specifically young female tennisplayers are inspired by Serena, due
to her dedication towards being the best that she can achieve.

13. Pros And Cons Of False Confessions
People know that false confessions are possible, however, most do not understand
the severity. 66% of people said that if a person signed a confession, they were most
likely guilty (Henkel, Coffman, Dailey, 2008). Only 11% disagreed that a person
might confess to a crime they did not commit. Furthermore, only 42% of participants
said that the police might lie about the police having evidence. Henkel, Coffman, and
Dailey report an overwhelming majority of the participants claimed that they would
never confess during an interrogation. What may lead to a false confession? One
major factor is not understanding Miranda rights. Adults may have some difficulty
understanding and appreciating their Miranda rights, but have a general idea of
their rights. Conversely, juveniles have a much more difficult time comprehending
their rights. The current standard for competency is a having a basic
understanding of Miranda rights (Grisso et al., 2003). However, Viljoen, Zapf, and
Roesch (2007) found that 58% of defendants ages 11 13, 33.3% of defendants ages
14 15, and 7.8% of defendants ages 16 17 did not meet this standard. Moreover, if
the defendant must also appreciate the rights, 78% of defendants ages 11 13, 62.7%
of defendants ages 14 15, and 35.3% of defendants ages 16 17 did not meet these
standards. Comprehension of Miranda rights is critical, as one may falsely confess if
they do not understand and utilize their rights. Age also changes how the juvenile
responds to the
14. Does The Internet Make You Dumber By Nicholas Carr
Analysis
In his essay Does the Internet Make You Dumber? , Nicholas Carr argues that
technology leaves us unable to be as thorough in our previous mental abilities and
distracts us, through changes to our mental pathways and biological mechanisms.
Nicholas Carr uses the appeal of data, the frightening effects of living in the digital
age, and his own conclusions from his exhaustive research to structure his
examination.
He supports his ideas with multiple studies showing the positive and negative effects
of internet and computer use has on our mental and physiological abilities. Starting
from the most general collection of studies, he found, he places the framework for
his argument. Patricia Greenfield s collection and analysis echo Carr s own
evidence for the ill effects from internet distractions and quick page touring,
especially the ever faster shifts of focus we require to remain entertained in an
activity. He continues his path of logic with the results of a school centered study on
the effects of internet surfing on focus. Cornell University s Study came to a similar
conclusion as Patricia Greenfields did but coming from the other way. Where a
situation where constant attention on a singular topic was required, and the
distractions affected student s performance on a quiz following a lecture. Finally, he
points out the general trend in declining cognitive skills from internet exposure. Out
of an almost evenly split group of 101 subjects with various exposure to daily
15. Who Is A Sympathetic Character In The Razor s Edge
In The Razor s Edge by Somerset Maugham Isabel was a sympathetic character
because she loved Larry, but married Gray. She understood that her love for Larry
would not be enough for his happiness, so she let him go. She married Gray not for
her happiness, but to appease her family. Her ability to relinquish her emotions,
future, and her family, made her selfless. Elizabeth was engaged to Larry for the first
two parts of The Razor s Edge, but her lovefor him continued throughout the novel.
Larry was lost though and felt the need to explore an avenue that he was not
accustomed to. By being engaged he felt anchored or forced to stay in Chicago
because that is what society was dictating. Isabel had been brought up a certain way
and she accepted the principles that had been instilled into her (49). This meant that
with the small amount of money that Larry had they could not raise a family
together and travel the world like Larry wanted in an acceptable way. She
contemplates going with Larry even though he doesn t have the funds, but she
cannot fathom the idea of living below her means if she doesn t have to. Larry

Gray was not the man of her dreams like Larry was, but he was okay. In a
conservation between the narrator and Isabel, Isabel says Mother and Uncle Elliot
approve of what I have done. Do you approve too? (90). Isabel is seeking approval,
trying to justify the loss of her love. This means she did not want to marry Gray, but
instead wanted to marry Larry. What she says that her Mother and Uncle Elliot
approve means that the social side of her marriage is acceptable. Elliot was an
embodiment of social justice and with his approval she can climb the social ladder. I
think that Isabel thought that if she made it to the top he would eventually come

16. Moore Vs Hlobo
This essay will explore the contrasts and similarities that can be taken from two
drawings. Henry Moore s, Standing figures of 1940 and Nicholas Hlobo s, Macaleni
Iintozomlambo of 2010. It will discuss the comparisons that can be made about the
colour schemes, composition and subject matter of the pieces. This will also include
an evaluation of how the time scales and influences of the period have affected the
final outcomes of the two artists. The two pieces actually share many more
similarities than first hits the eye after deconstructing all of the components listed.
Henry Moore is typically renowned for the many sculptures mused by the human
form, typically the female form. He began his artistic venture in 1919 where he
attended Leeds School of art, here he met Barbra Hepworth and was inspired
greatly by her. He then received many scholarships leading to the opportunity to
travel around the world, it was early Mexican and Aztec that mostly inspired his
work. His first commissioned piece was in 1928 and named West Wind. In order to
create his pieces he did however create unfinished drawing plans of organic
compositions that he could imagine creating to a much larger scale. These were often

It is a single finished drawing. It is composed of layers off Tea stains and Thread,
juxtaposing colours and using the thread to tell a story of the human inners and old
folk tales. It isn t an obvious piece and requires a description to know the history

1. Defining the FTSE 250
The FTSE is bantered around a lot within financial circles and seems to be a key
element within many news headlines too. While the term FTSE is commonly known,
few actually understand the FTSE 250 and what it entails. In order to educate those
who are unfamiliar with what it is, the following information should be of great use.
Leading Index
Widely considered to be one of the leading indices in the world, the FTSE 250 is an
index that features some of the biggest operating companies on the planet.
However, some may be unsure of what of an index is generally. The purpose of an

The reason why investors have such a heighted interest in the FTSE 250 is because
it is often where the future superstar companies of tomorrow are found. Traders will
track this index with invested interest in the hope of finding a stock that can surge
following investment. The FTSE 250 is one of the more interesting indexes within
the world of stock and shares, as it features names from all sectors.
How to track the FTSE 250?
Taking advantage of the FTSE 250 requires investors to be diligent. What is
featured within the FTSE 250 is affected by in company, in market, and general
world events. Changing global economics in general can have a deep impact on
the companies that are featured with the FTSE 250. For example, when the interest
rates rise in the UK or the oil supply in the Middle East falls short, you can be sure
that it will have an impact on the performance of the FTSE 250. The key to
mastering the FTSE 250 relates to tracking signals and attempting to stay one step
ahead of the curve.
Worth Watching
When it comes to importance, the FTSE 250 is an index that should be considered
a priority in the eyes of an investor that wishes to trade stocks and shares
successfully. Next time you step into the world of stocks and shares be sure to keep
the FTSE 250 in mind.

In the novel, Fun Home, Alison Bechdel explores the Franciscan value of respecting
the unique dignity of each person. Throughout the book, Bechdel s father often
challenges this value in his behavior with Alison. From a child development
standpoint, these actions complicate the development of Bechdel s identity. Fun Home
follows Alison Bechdel s childhood, showing both a prominent father daughter
relationship and Bechdel s developing identity. Following the potential suicide of her

close to a table edge on page 18. Although Alison claims she was not involved,
Bruce still hits her. The faces of Alison and her brother and mother show a clear
fear of Bruce. These two instances highlight both his propensity to use physical
force against the children and his view of the children. He clearly views the objects
as more important, as he treats them with more care. Along the same lines, Bruce
also constantly orders the children around to do chores for him, showing their value
to him as a workforce. The children also witnessed domestic disputes while living in
the house. During one incident, on page 68, the children hear a crash of books and
their father telling their mother, You re the one with a problem, you crazy bitch! This
angry and argumentative home life would likely be traumatic to the children.
Throughout the novel, Bruce exhibits aggressive behavior.
In conjunction with his violent behavior, Bruce also controls Alison and her
choices. On page 7, Alison is upset because the wallpaper for her room is pink and
floral, despite her dislike of these overtly feminine symbols. Her father shows a
complete disregard for her thoughts
19. Lean On Me Rhetorical Analysis
Imagine trying to fix a failing school rife with drugs, crime, violence, and failing
grades. Some of the students can t even read, and most will end up dropping out.
That is what the film Lean on Me is about. A former teacher at a high school, Joe
Clark, is told to go and fix Eastside High, where more than half the students do not
even meet basic skills, or the state will take over the school. When he takes over, he
immediately begins several changes, imposing strict authority in the halls, improving
the quality of education, and expelling drug dealers or failing students. Clark also
many times encourages students and staff that hard work are needed for success. In
Lean on me, Joe Clark persuades the student and staff to work hard using ethos,
pathos, and logos.
Clark frequently uses his position as school principal to convince the students and
teachers to work hard. In his first speech, he starts it by telling the students to
behave and put down their cigarettes. This would establish his authority as the
principal. His audience would then listen to him more because he has established
his authority as the head of the school, which is someone that everyone would
respect and obey. Clark also uses ethos when he instructs the teachers to set up
extra reading courses on Saturday. When a teacher asks how that will be done,
Clark instructs them to come in to the student s homes and get their parents to let
their children come, or even come with them. By solving the problem and giving a
clear plan of what to do, Clark would show he is someone who knows what he is
doing. People usually follow the instructions of qualified people, and the Eastside
High teachers and students are no different. They would listen to Clark s calls on
what to do and to work harder because they know he sees the big picture and knows
what everyone should do. Finally, Clark throughout all his speeches frequently
brings up the fact that the students will end up failing and locked out of the
American dream if they do not put in effort to succeed. In those moments, Clark
shows that he is someone who knows a lot about life. A person who has experience
about life choices would be a person that people would listen to for advice on
decisions and
20. What Is The Figurative Language In The Juggler By
Richard...
In Richard Wilbur s Juggler, the speaker depicts a juggler who is entertaining both
men and women with his elegant prowess and practice of juggling balls and other
various objects. The speaker describes the juggler as nothing more than a
simpleton, entertaining those who watch his display and retreating when he is
tired or done. This simple but deft actions of the juggler reveals the simplicity of
the speaker, who like the others, is amazed. The juggler s delicate and precise
gestures and movements highlight the smooth and soft aspects of a calm life. The
speaker uses elements such as imagery and figurative language to reveal the
complex but simple display of the juggler s practice and the ease that it releases as
it gives us a respite from our stressful, daily lives. In the poem, the speaker uses
figurative language to reveal and portray that the objects that the juggler juggles
have a sense or life of their own and how their actions make the show even more
impressive on the juggler s end. Whether it s the ball s own resilience as it bounces
less and less or wheel on his wheeling hands , the figurative language describes an
inanimate object that is subject to the laws of nature and forces such as gravity
which is shown by the line falling is what it loves. However, under the hands of the
juggler, it s as if the juggler has changed the ball s natural tendencies to his own,
becoming the ball s own force that it has to follow. The juggler appears to be as an

Oedipus is an obvlious ignorant king who tries to blame everyone in his circle and
soon realizes he s the killer, and runs away from all of the chaos. In the short article,
written by Bernard Knox it relates to Oedipusthe king because of how civilization is
like in the city of Thebes and how there is conflicts within and outside the kingdom.
Also, back then people thought it is very important to be apart of this kingdom but
many people who were not from this city had a different perception of how their...

Honestly, you can see Oedipus showing great concern about his city and about his
people who are suffering right now but he soon later realize he is going to fight his
own demon that eventually drives him away. Next, when Oedipus reveals the
reason why people are dying in his city he begins to start drama within and outside
the kingdom. Oedipus discovers the original king name Laius has been killed and
this is why many incidents among the city has been happening. Oedipus is very
determined to get to the bottom of this horrific incident and execute who is
responsible for the previous king s murder. He began to blame people in his
kingdom like Ceron and the blind prophet Tiresias. In the story, Tiresias says to
Oedipus when the truth is only pain to him who sees! I knew it well, but I put it
from my mind, else I never would have come. This explains that Tiresias knows the
truth about the murder of king and that people in the palace in fact know the truth
except him. Even in the article Greece and Theater it mentions These city states

22. Why Is Hamlet Truly Mad
Is Hamlet Truly Mad? One of the largest debates in the literary world is whether
Hamlet was actually mad, or if he feigned it to disconcert Claudius and others close
to him. The question of whether or not is similar to that of whether or not Gertrude
was aware that the cup was poisoned. Personally, I believe that Hamletwas not mad,
but rather delusional; making himself mad to fit his own goals, rather than simply
being such. He had many soliloquys debating whether or not to appear mad to others,
but also showed pieces of madness through his obsession with murder. As a result,
Hamlet was not mad, but he was not of sound mind, either. Not soon after
beingdiagnosed with melancholy, or depression, after his father s death, he tells his
friends that he will pretend to act mad. HAMLET:How strange or odd some er I bear
myself
(As I perchance hereafter shall think meet
To put an antic disposition on) (Act I, Scene 5)
However, even before he first met his father s ghost he was already melancholy,
and depression can often lead to irrational decisions. Sure, he was not fully mad ,
and still had some sanity, but his sane self purposefully tried to throw conscience out
of the window in order to achieve his goal to kill Claudius. In addition, most sane
people would not actually kill a person, much less plot about it as thoroughly as he
had. In the third act, even Claudius doubts that Hamlet is truly mad. Many of his
guardsmen do believe it, but Claudius is unconvinced of how

Aregai 1 The Enlightened Archaeologist an article authored by Jeffrey Hantman and
Gary Dunham chronicles Thomas Jefferson s investigation of the Indian burial
mound located on the South Fork of the Rivanna River in the 18th century. The site
excavated by Jefferson, however, is no longer visible, most likely due to dissipation
by inevitable natural occurrences (I.E. excessive rainfall, flooding rivers, etc.) or
human activity such as farming. The Father of American Archaeologycorrectly
predicts the latter in his book, Notes on the State of Virginia, in which he states,
mounds ...put under cultivation are much reduced in their height, and spread in
width, by the plough, and will probably disappear in time (1787). Fortunately for
Archaeologists of the late 20th century (1988) an Indian burial mound identical to
that of the one Jefferson described in his book was uncovered just 14 miles from the
South Fork of the Rivanna River. The Rapidan mound in spite of being reduced to its
southern edge, provided archaeologists Hantman, Dunham, and colleagues a unique,
yet waning opportunity to record and excavate the quickly abrading site. What they
discovered from their digging surprised them; the content and order within the mound
also resembled Thomas Jefferson s descriptive notes. However, what he noted as the

Punishment vs Reinforcement
Behavior analysis, health care professionals, and psychologists require competent
procedures to find responses to relevant questions and to stay current with scientific
literature. Behavior analyses use the best research that is evidence based that
supports clinical expertise and patient values (Walker, 2007). It makes significant
differences in how effective more or less interventions are with clients, their families
and society (Slocum, 2012). Clients deserve the best care and expertise that they can
receive when it comes to their health and well being. Therefore, behavior analysis use
work as a psychology professional to ensure the best type of interventions and therapy
is provided to their clients. Before implementing a behavior change a functional
assessment must be completed on the client.
Functional Assessment
Behavior analyses conduct an assessment plan before any treatment plan can be
implemented. Applied behavior analysis (ABA) need to take the whole client into
account when collecting data for an assessment. Knowing the clients demographic
background can allow us to have a thorough understanding of developing an effective
intervention plan for the client. Assessments also include demographic information
such as age and sex of the client, their diagnosis, family structure. Assessments
include who, what, when, and how you will evaluate the clients target behaviors.
Assessments are done in home, school and clinical settings. Information

The Benefits of Uniform Adoption in Public Schools Ever wonder what it would
look like to have all students wearing the same white polo shirt, black pants, and a

are discussing the possibilities of enforcing the uniform policy. In most places, many
private schools already require students to have their mandatory uniforms; however,
there are only a few public schools adopting this mandatory school uniform polices as
one of their enrollment requirements. The reason why not all public schools

Consequently, students would pay more of their attention to the latest fashion instead
of their school work. Then the school work will not be done on time because
majority of their time is spent on the fashion. Without paying attention and making
great efforts, school work can only be abandoned eventually. However, like
Walmsley emphasized, when public schools require their students to wear the
mandatory uniform, students will not have any struggle about choosing what clothes
to wear today and tomorrow. In other words, students will have more time spending
on school work. Another point is that the purpose of students going to school is
gaining knowledge and preparing for their future. Students learn how to dress
formally as a student in school. The adoption of this district uniform could help them
to prepare the way professionals dressed. The next advantage of public school
uniforms can be identified as the reduction of bullying behaviors. Everyone benefits
by adopting the uniform policy. It helps students to unite and share a same goal

opportunity to escape the oppressive reign of monarchs and the papacy for a better

European colonies than they did at home, for the colonists, freedom meant owning
land. Some people such as, Johannes Hänner, didn t even require land to feel free

family and friends. However, this positive outlook was not widely shared among all
colonists, in Virginia for example, while
29. Essay on Medieval Art
In the art world, the medieval periods were traditionally though to be the
unproductive phase of Europe between the decline of Rome and the Renaissance.
Our modern feelings toward medieval art are far more appreciative. The main intent
of Medieval art was to express Christianity which was also a common bond between
a wide spread and diverse Europe. For this reason most of the art found from
medieval times originated in monasteries and churches. European art during the
Middle Agescan be divided into four periods. These four periods include Celto
Germanic art which ranged from 400 to 800 A.D. and was important in metal work.
Carolingian art ranged from 750 to 987 A.D. overlapping 50 years of the Celto
Germanic period. The period of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A major difference between the two was that Carolingian architects used stone only
for important buildings such as churches and castles. Their buildings and plans for
unfinished buildings show that a major factor in Carolingian architecture was length.
This was both appealing to the eye and practical, leaving room for extra altars and
separate entries. The Carolingian style is of small dimensions. Most of this style
pulls its influence from Byzantine artwork. An explanation for the sudden change
from Celto Germanic styling can be attributed to the new minuscule form of writing,
remarkable for its clarity and form (Pioch). Metal work from this time period is rare
although writings tell us that goldsmiths and enamel workers remained active.
Romanesque The art of the Romanesque period was characterized by the revival of
sculptures and fresco painting. These were common elements of architecture. Along
with those architectural advancements the period produced frequent examples of
realism as well as a heightened emphasis on emotion and fantasy. The crusades acted
as a main contributor to this time period lending more religious and revolutionary
imagery. Examples of Romanesque sculpture are dated back to the last decade of the
eleventh century and then first decades of the twelfth. The primary source of artistic
patronage was provided by the monastic

Some arguments on the advantages of school choice were found on the website
schoolchoiceinfo.org, which includes many stories about individual families who
have benefited from school choice. The website also explains how in Cleveland,
Florida and Milwaukee over 14,500 families have benefited from school choice
programs. Making the parents more involved in the students education as well as
feeling a higher level of satisfaction from the children s education, the programs also
provides less discrimination based on economic status, or racial background, as well
as many other things.
In Depth of School Choice
One family story is found on the website, schoolchoiceinfo.org, in informational
website about the benefits of school choice. The website describes how the
Beauduy family of Florida benefited from being able to partake of the school
choice program. Being able to chose to send one child to a magnet school out side
the assigned school district, has shaped the family and made the entire family
happier overall allowing the family to have saved enough money to live in a safer
neighborhood. On the other hand, the article The Price of Public School Choice, by
Howe, Eisenhart and Betebenner, discusses the drawbacks of school choice. The
authors explain how the schools with more resources will gain too many students,
leaving the students that cannot choose or do not wish to, behind in the bad schools.
32. Comparing Cinderella And The Brothers Grimm
Folk tales and fairy tales are stories that have been told to us since we were kids.
Some stories are passed down from generation to generation and change along the
way. Fairy tales as Cinderella have many different variants depending on the origin
of where the story was created. A Cinderella story in the United States differs from a
Cinderellastory from Russia. Cinderella is nothing of a mere template of a specific
folk tale. Cinderella is a story of a daughter who is looked down upon by her evil
stepmother and her stepsisters. Her stepmother does not allow her to go to a ball
announced by a prince, but Cinderella eventually finds a way of going and she
marries the prince. Charles Perraultand The Brothers Grimmare both famous for their
variations of this story. Perrault is famous for adding many elements to the story
such as the fairy godmother and the glass slipper. Grimm is famous for his
gruesome version of Cinderella that ended in the eyes of the sisters getting pecked
out by birds. Despite both stories being similar, Perrault and Grimm show many
aspects of the story that are sparingly different.
Both stories consisted of an evil stepmother, but there is a father in both stories
who play a different role. In Perrault s version of the story, he says The poor girl
bore all patiently, and dared not complain to her father, who would have scolded her
if she had done so, for his wife governed him entirely (Perrault, 236). The father is

Supernatural Aspects in Arthurian Legend
Le Morte d Arthur is just a short part taken out of the story The Day of Destiny
written by Sir Thomas Malory but retold by Keith Baines. In Le Morte d Arthur
Baines seems to portray a lot of supernatural aspects in King Arthur s actions and
decisions because it was a very common theme in literature of the Middle Ages.
Supernatural events and miracles were very common back in middle age literature.
Most of the time supernatural events were used for two purposes, which were to
either promote Christianity by having miracles come true, punishing people in a very
mystical way, or it was added into literature just for entertainment (Richey). In
Arthurian legend the story would not been the same without the help received from
Arthur s magical efforts from the Lady of the Lake, Merlin, and Morgan Le Fay,
Arthur s evil half sister, whose magic was added just for the use of entertainment. Yet

Gentrification is the process of renovating and revitalizing undervalued and
dilapidated residential and commercial areas by the middle or upper class. It is
driven by the notion called the rent gap . The rent gap is the difference between
current rent and potential rental income. People will invest in these deteriorated
urban areas to obtain potential rent in the future. Consequently, once new money
flows in these areas, it forces rent to surge. High rents force low income residents to
relocate from the area. This is one of the key characteristics of gentrification, the
displacement of local residents. Gentrification is driven by both private investment
and government policies.

established under New York s 1955 Limited Profit Housing Companies Act, better

building, but the price at which they can sell their shares is limited for a certain
period of time, usually twenty years. These arrangements offer stability of ownership
without the skyrocketing prices that accompany real estate speculation. There are
numerous benefits of this program. Mitchell Lama Housing projects promote
economic and social integration in their communities. They have become stable
and burgeoning communities. The integral components in ensuring the success of
this program are maintaining the quality of the cooperatives and making sure
housing units over time are slowly pushed to market values. As the designated
time for subsidized rent ends, the surge in rents forces some households to leave
the area. However, if there was a more gradual increase in rent prices over time,
then this would not be the case. Oversight of these cooperatives is pivotal to their
success. State Sen. Jeff Klein said that The Mitchell Lama program, I believe, was
probably the greatest housing program we ever created in New York State because it
was based on a very simple premise: that various

For some people, drugs are a part of everyday life. Drugs are what allow them to be
able to walk around in the mornings with no ache, or comfort the pain of a recent
surgery, or help and individual cope with anxiety or stress; however, the same drugs
that are used to bring enjoyment into one persons life can bring destruction into
another. This has become a major problem in the U.S. and all over the world as well.
In a recent survey, thirty different clinics, spread out over five urban areas, reported
that thirty six percent of admitted patients has admitted to the nonmedical use of
prescription drugs over the past year (Brown, Chaitkin, 1981); consequently,
prescription pain killers have lead to more deaths that than heroin and cocaine
combined (CDC, 2013). One of the most common types of prescription drugs is a
stimulant. Stimulants are a class of drug that elevates that mood of the user and
increases their energy and alertness, such as cocaine, methamphetamine,
amphetamines, methylphenidate, nicotine, and methylenedioxymethamphetamine,
which is also know as MDMA or ecstasy (NIDA, 2013). When a legitimate
prescription for stimulants is written it is usually for disorders like attention deficit
hyperactivity disorderor ADHA. ADHA is characterized by the inability to

The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is it really secured? The Electronic
Medical Records (EMR) is a secure source of information that give clinicians real
time access to a variety of patient health information, such as patient history, billing
or insurance data, allergies, immunizations, medications, orders, laboratory tests,
diagnostic results, and images. Such technology has enormous potential to enhance
the efficiency and effectiveness of health care through decreased medical errors,
increased preventative care and enhanced detection and treatment (Fiato, K. A.,
2012). With the rapid development of information technology, EMR is likely to
have medical records disclosure issues. Some international medical records
leakage happens recently. In USA 2011, there is a leakage about hospitalized
Hawkeye football players. In Philippines 2009, president Arroyo is leaked
information on her breast medical checkup. In Taiwan, artist Selina, due to severe
burns in 2010, came news that physicians of other subjects are free to browse the

facts reflect that EMR document divulgation is overflowing and can cause serious
damages. Thus the management security of EMR documents catches highly attention

Triangle is called a Delta wing. Supersonic flow is completely different from
subsonic flow in many respects. Such differences impact the design philosophy of
aircrafts for supersonic flights in comparison to subsonic flight aircrafts. Our
study deals with the design and subsonic flow over a delta wing. Supersonic
aircrafts usually have highly swept wings. A special case of that with triangular
planform is called a delta wing. Though delta wing aircrafts are high speed
vehicles, they fly at low speed during takeoff and landing. Also in most cases, these
aircrafts spend majority of their flight time at subsonic speeds, using their
supersonic capabilities for short durations depending upon their mission
requirements. Following are some examples of aircrafts with delta wing; Convair

out of fear of consequences such as legal impact, or owing to intimidation. The
degree of cyberspace censorship differs on a nation to nations basis. Most democratic
nations have moderate cyberspace censorship. Other nations go as far as to restrict
the information accessibility; they suppress discussion among citizens and limit
news. Internet censorship can also occur in anticipation of or in response to events
like protests, riots or elections. An ideal example is the increased level of censorship
owing to the Arab Spring events. Other censorship areas include defamation,
copyrights, obscene material and harassment.
Particular countries practice some forms of filtering. In the U.S., state mandated
cyberspace filtering takes place on particular information processing systems in K
12 schools and libraries (Reichman, 2001). Content pertaining to Holocaust denial or
Nazism is blocked in Germany and France. Hate speech and child pornography are
blocked in lots of countries across the

How has digital imaging and digital manipulation impacted sports broadcasting and
production procedures? AMULYA NARAVARJULA Telecommunication
Engineering George Mason University anaravar@masonlive.gmu.edu The most
important application of the digital image processing is enhancement of the
captured image, storage and transmission of the image. An image may be a two
dimensional plane which consists of f(x, y) where x, y are the coordinates in the
plane and f is the amplitude or the intensity of the image at that particular point in
the plane. If x,y are positive and f is a finite discrete value, then the image is the
digital image. All the elements of an image are referred to as pixels. Human vision is
limited to the visual band of electromagnetic spectrum where as the imaging
machines covers the entire electromagnetic spectrum ranging from gamma to radio
waves. All the imaging machines are capable of capturing the images that are
generated from a very wide variety of sources which humans cannot perceive. Few
examples are electron microscopy,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It covers most of the posterior region of the wall. When a human eye focuses on an
object, the light that is reflected by the object falls on the retina and the image is
formed on the wall. The discrete light receptors that are spread over the wall of the
retina forms the image. These receptors are of two types namely cones and rods.
Cones are less in number approximately 6 to 7 million and are concentrated in the
region called fovea. These cones gives the clear image with fine details because
these have their individual nerve connection where as, the rods give the general
pattern of the image because many rods are connected to one nerve. Rods are
numerous approximately 75 to 150 million which are spread over the wall of the
retina. The interesting phenomena here is that the objects appear as colorless in the
nighttime because only rods get stimulated as the cones are color
44. Arguments Against Fukushima
Recently, the deserted Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant has been emanating
an alarming amount of radiation. Kyodo of Japan Times reported that the radiation
reading has reached its highest level since its emergence in March 2011 (Kyodo,
2017). As a result, there is a greater presence of air and water pollution in Fukushima
that could easily spread to surrounding areas. Therefore, it seems appropriate that in
an interview with the Washington Post, radio ecology expert Tom Hinton stated
Fukushima is an area that is among the most radioactively contaminated in the world
(as cited in Andrews, 2016). This resurgence has generated conspiracy theories, false
maps and, interestingly, little news coverage. While many across different continents

The Fukushima ice wall had not been functioning as it should. It is reportedly 99%
frozen, (cite) and accordingly allows more groundwater to leak into the nuclear plant.
However, when this problem is resolved, it should be easier to install a filtration
system to purify the contaminated water. This issue is not a result of the technology
itself, which has been successful in Canada and Australia as aforementioned (cite).
Nonetheless, the safety of the Fukushima residents should be prioritized. AGF may
not be under competent leadership at the moment, but it is a safe alternative that
protects residents, scientists and engineers, and the environment at once. Fukushima
s radiation will continue to spread until many areas are inhabitable if there is not an
intervention. While the ice wall may not be perfect, many should embrace it as a first
attempt to deescalate a nuclear disaster. Though its results are not as successful as
desired, the theoretical framework that surrounds AGF could be better implemented
and save many from the dangers of radiation

about the stress of financial cost and tuition in 2015 at Strayer University. Paying
for college can be more stressful than getting into college and the way schools
explain their aid packages doesn t always help. When looking for a college to further
my education, I was hopeful, excited and very eager to move forward. In my

47. Women In The Aeneid
In the opening books of the Aeneid, Virgil presents female figures as having a
negative impact on politics. On both human and divine levels, women are portrayed
as threats to traditional male dominated society. When men make decisions, women
often run in the opposite direction. Their unstable and irrational behaviors delay men
to finish the mission and even cause great losses for the group.
Female figures are described as unstable by Virgil. They will immediately change
their minds under a difficult situation. In the Aeneid, the ultimate task for the Trojans
is to find Italy and establish a new home there. However, the Trojan women were
doubtful, hesitant between wretched loves: one that held them to their present land;
the other, to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The political system of gods in Aeneid is a male dominated society led by Jupiter,
and it is Jupiter who gives Aeneas the task to find Italy and build a new kingdom
(Aeneid Book 1, 355 415). However, both Venus and Juno are against Jupiter s will
and hold Aeneas back because they put too much personal emotion upon politics.
The most compelling evidence is that Juno and Venus arrange the marriage
between Aeneas and Dido. For Venus, she only cares about his son Aeneas, as she
says, The hospitality of Dido and where it may lead makes me afraid; at such a
turn I know she ll not be idle. So, before she has a chance, I plan to catch the queen
by craftiness, to girdle Dido with a flame, so that no god can turn her back (Aeneid
Book 1, 937 943). Venus questions Dido s hospitality and is afraid that Dido will
hurt his son Aeneas. Therefore, she wants to control Dido by love to ensure her
son s safety. As for Juno, her decision is based on her anger towards Aeneas
because Juno hears about a prediction that one day Aeneas and the Trojans will
destroy Juno s favorite city Carthage (Aeneid Book 1, 30 34). Juno wants to shunt
the kingdom of Italy to Libyan shores (Aeneid Book 4, 141) so that Aeneas can be
restricted to her region and never finish his mission given by Jupiter. Both Venus
and Juno only try to fulfill their personal goal, but ignore what will happen if
Aeneas mission is delayed or if the love between Dido and Aeneas is broken.
Finally, Venus and Juno s selfish and reckless manipulation leads to a terrible
consequence, Dido s self burning. Also, Juno s stubborn opposition to Aeneas can
be viewed as a battle between her and the male supreme god Jupiter. Juno says that
she will entreat her husband Jupiter to agree that the Trojans and the men of Tyre
become one city (Aeneid Book 4, 145 152). However, as we know later, Jupiter
48. Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Boost Transverter
The conventional DC DC converters have the disadvantages of operating at high
duty cycle, high switch voltage stress and high diode peak current. Non isolated high
step up converter overcomes this drawback. This converter reduces voltage stress on
switch by using clamped capacitor circuit which is helpful to reduce the conduction
losses by using low power rated components and efficiency will increase. Single
switch is used in the non isolated high step up converter, thus reduce the entire cost of
the converter. The energy stored in leakage inductance of coupled inductoris
efficiently recycled to the output. The voltage doubler circuit is added for further
extending the voltage gain. The control strategy is the one cycle control. By the
application... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The double voltage cell will increase the voltage gain. The clamped capacitor circuit
which is connected to the primary side of the coupled inductor, the voltage stress of
the active switch is reduced greatly and the clamped capacitor also transfers the
primary leakage energy to the output. At the same time, a diode capacitor circuit is
integrated with the secondary winding for further extending the voltage gain greatly.
Furthermore, the energy of secondary leakage inductor can be recycled and the
turned off voltage spikes on the main switch are
