Global Warming Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of global warming can be a challenging task that requires careful
research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. The complexity arises from the
vast amount of information available on the subject, encompassing scientific data, environmental
impacts, socio-economic aspects, and potential solutions. Crafting a well-rounded essay requires
the ability to synthesize these diverse elements into a cohesive and persuasive argument.
The process of researching global warming involves delving into scientific journals, reports from
environmental organizations, and reputable news sources. Understanding the intricacies of
climate science and the various contributing factors to global warming is crucial for presenting
accurate information. This not only demands time but also a keen ability to sift through a
multitude of sources and discern the reliability of each.
Furthermore, the essay must address the broader implications of global warming, such as its
effects on ecosystems, weather patterns, and human societies. Analyzing the socio-economic
impact requires a deep understanding of how climate change intersects with issues like food
security, migration, and resource allocation. This interdisciplinary approach adds an additional
layer of complexity to the writing process.
Crafting a compelling argument also involves considering potential counterarguments and
addressing them thoughtfully. Anticipating and refuting opposing viewpoints requires a nuanced
understanding of the subject matter and the ability to present a well-supported and convincing
case.
In terms of language and style, conveying the urgency and severity of global warming while
maintaining a tone of objectivity and clarity is a delicate balance. The essay should engage the
reader, making them aware of the gravity of the issue without resorting to alarmism. Achieving
this balance involves careful word choice, a coherent structure, and a strong thesis statement that
encapsulates the main argument.
In conclusion, writing an essay on global warming is a demanding task that involves navigating
through a vast amount of information, synthesizing diverse perspectives, and presenting a well-
supported and coherent argument. It requires a combination of research skills, critical thinking,
and effective communication. However, with dedication and careful attention to detail, one can
create an essay that not only informs but also inspires action.

Imagine taking one step into a chlorine filled arena. The humid air rushes onto
your skin. An immense smile spreads across your face. This is because you know
everything is about to change. In less than 24 hours you will be holding a
glistening gold medal in your hand, standing up on the podium while the Star
Spangled Banner blares for the whole world to hear and tears will stream down
your face. Taking one look back at your coach, Teri McKeever, you realize if it
wasn t for her you would not be here. Graciously, you run up, swing your arms
around her body, and embrace her in a powerful hug that says it all. Swimming is a
very intense sport and consumes every second of a swimmer s free time. However,

For instance, The Aussies won another gold and, with a time of 3:57.32, set another
world record. The United States (3:59.12) edged Germany (4:00.72) for second,
making Coughlin s final medal tally two golds, two silvers, and a bronze. The
quote presented in the text shows how when writing this, Coughlin and Silver
decided to put everyone s time in here. This happened at various times throughout
the book. Not only would the reader receive Coughlin s times, but also her
competitor s times as well. Knowing others times make it more of a real experience
and allow the reader to feel like they are standing on deck with Natalie and her
coach, McKeever. Also, the book states, In the end, Emily had chosen Cal over
Arizona, and Helen felt the Bears could validate that decision by prevailing. This
quote along with the quote So Crossen called Amano, asked if she d made a
decision and nearly dropped the phone when she answered, Yes. I think I m
coming to Cal. allows the reader to have an insight on some of Coughlin s
teammates. It s important for the reader to be informed on how Natalie s fellow
swimmers became recruited because each one of the swimmers in the book both
benefitted and interacted with Coughlin. Each one of them played a role in Natalie s
life and that is why the authors informed the reader of how her teammates were
recruited. The book also explains some of their personal lives

Attention Deficit Disorder
Attention Deficit Disorder History In 1845, Dr. Hendrick Hoffman first person to
describe Attention Deficit Disorder. Dr. Hoffman was also a poet who wrote
stories for his three year old son. Hendrick s story, The Story of the Fidgety Philip
accurately described a little boy who had Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(What is ADHD). During the early 1900 s, Sir George Still, a British pediatrician,
published lectures to the Royal College of Physicians in England (What is ADHD).
He described the condition as an abnormal defect of moral control in children and
stated that it was caused by a genetic dysfunction (Holland). In 1980, the American
Psychological Association revised the name of the disorder from hyperkinetic impulse

The disorder s name has changed due to scientific advances and field trials that were
conducted. AD/HD (A.D.D or ADHD) is not one specific disorder because it comes
with variations. It is now divided into three subtypes, based off of the main features
that are associated with the disorder: impulsivity, hyperactivity, and inattentiveness
(Attention Deficit Disorder). The subtypes of AD/HD are the Predominantly
Combined Type, Predominantly Inattentive Type, and Predominantly Hyperactive
Impulsive Type. The Predominantly Combined type of ADHD is the most common
out of the three. Individuals who have this type have symptoms from Predominantly
Inattentive ADHD and Predominantly Hyperactive Impulsive ADHD (Types of
ADHD). Some symptoms include not listening and being unable to follow or
understand instructions, whether simple or easy. Predominantly Inattentive ADHD
has symptoms such not paying attention to detail, being distracted or forgetful, and
avoiding tasks that involve effort (Types of ADHD). In order to be diagnosed with
this type of ADHD, one must have at least six of the nine symptoms as well as a
few of the Hyperactive Impulsive Type of ADHD. The Hyperactive Impulsive type
deals with symptoms such as fidgeting, squirming, and speaking too much (Types of
ADHD). Once again, to be diagnosed, one must have six symptoms and a few of the

Looking Beyond Trendy Clothing
Since the start of the Industrial Revolution in the late 18th century, Americans have
become manufacturers and consumers of a whole variety of products and brands.
What started out as simple advances, like the creation of factory system in order to
produce textiles more efficiently, over time developed to include many more
industries of mass production. While industrialization marked a shift in the
advancement of technology, it also caused a shift in society. This shift in society
created a consumer culture that came to [be] marked by a dependence on commerce
and incessant shopping and buying (Scelfo). Contrary to this shift, in the time prior

The trendy apparel that stores offer to the public makes a person have the ability to
be fashionable since it can be adapted to our own preferences, and it also shows
how companies influence people through the way they dress. Clothing companies
among others create and implant images into people s minds that insinuate that
consumers should follow in order to be able to fit in the society that is shaped by
the beliefs of corporations and industries. While it should be okay for fashion to be
promoted since it is a way to express oneself, it is important to note the ways how
companies advertise clothing and current fashions, since it reflects how our products

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine system disorder, also a
hormonal condition in which the ovaries are enlarged with very small cysts on the
outer edges. The hormonal imbalance creates problems in the ovaries. The ovaries
make the egg that is released each month as part of a healthy menstrual cycle. With
PCOS, the egg may not develop as it should or it may not be released during
ovulation as it should be. The enlarged ovaries may be filled with small collections
of fluid called follicles that can be detected through a thorough ultrasound. PCOS
causes a woman s hormones to be out of balance. It can also cause problems with a
woman s monthly period and it can even contribute to the difficulty for a woman to
get pregnant. Knowing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these can worsen with obesity. Every woman with PCOS may be affected a
little differently. To be diagnosed with PCOS a woman s doctor looks for at least
two of the following conditions; irregular periods, excess androgen, or polycystic
ovaries. Polycystic ovary syndrome signs and symptoms often start soon after a
woman first begins having periods. In some cases, PCOS develops later during the
reproductive years. Symptoms of PCOS start gradually over time. Symptoms can
include several menstrual problems. These can include few or no menstrual periods
or heavy, irregular bleeding. Hair loss from the scalp and hair growth on the face,
chest, back, stomach, thumbs, or toes. Acne and oily skin. Fertility problems, such as
not releasing an egg or repeat miscarriages. Insulin resistance and too much insulin,
which can cause things like upper body obesity and skin tags. Depression or mood
swings. Breathing problems while sleeping. Polycystic ovary syndrome treatment
focuses on management of woman s main concerns such as infertility, hirsutism, acne
or obesity. Most treatments are medicines prescribed by a woman s doctor. To
regulate a menstrual cycle, a doctor may recommend combination birth control pills,
pills that contain both estrogen and progestin. These birth control pills decrease
androgen production and give your body a break from the effects of continuous
estrogen, lowering your risk of endometrial
Sociology Of South African Sociology
South African sociology (Webster, 2004, p. 28) can be considered as the result of the
combination of different types of sociology due to the various changes that taken
place in South African society throughout its history (Webster, 2004, p. 28). Marxism
(Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which is one of the main contributors to this
sociology, was coined by Karl Marx, a German sociologist who by observing the
various relations within a society came up with his own beliefs on how society
has changed and how it can be improved which have been widely used across the
world (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117). He believed that in the past, people lived
in collective groups and were not divided by economic status but shared what they
had and focused more on working together than working for each other and this
was referred to as communism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). However, Marx
suggested that as time progressed people began to fight for land and possessions
and this led to weaker groups being kept as slaves (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 18)
and were used for the benefit of their capturers and this ultimately created a
distinction between those who had power and those who did not (Macionis
Plummer, 2012, p. 119). Marx also suggested that from this came what is known as
capitalism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which was the result of technological
advancements such as the use of machines to produce goods in factories (Macionis
Plummer, 2012, p. 117)
Baseball Narrative
Me and my dad have never really seen eye to eye. He sees homework as a study
tool, and I see it as a teacher trying to torture me by bringing work to home. But the
one thing we have in common is we both like baseball so he decided to take me to
a baseball game to teach some of the stuff he knew about baseball. But that s not all
we were going to do that Sunday. We were in the car on our way to the Baseball
game. It was pretty hot outside, 90 degrees or so. We were going 60 miles an hour
down I 55. Dad and I hadn t really talked until Litchfield, but when traffic
completely stopped, we had nothing to do but talk. So what did you do this week?

Due to the intensive forecast, the game has been delayed . What? I said. My heart
was being crushed as I watched the scoreboard broadcast the weather map. All of
the red and yellow was tearing me apart like a wishbone. After about 20 minutes
after the scheduled start, the rain came. It didn t just come, it came firing. People
screamed as rain poured down on them. I sprinted to the food stand to get a hot dog
and a pretzel. Lightning came next, and it was loud. People screamed every time
lightning struck, and I was worried also. I got pretty good video of lightning almost
striking a building across the highway. As we watched the rain, we heard very
concerning news. Did you hear that there is a tornado back home? someone said
with a sad tone. I almost peed myself. Me and my dad went and stood underneath
the safest area of Busch, and it got pretty packed. The security guards were
escorting people from the top 2 levels of Busch. Those were an hour and thirty
minutes I would like to forget. So many drunk people in the same area. Lightning
stopped an 1 hour and 30 minutes later, but it was still raining but the umpires
started the game! It was 11:30 at night, and I was tired. We decided to just go
Emancipationawassone Of The American Civil War
Emancipationawassone of the most profound consequences of the American Civil
War.
During and after the war, about four million enslaved African Americans in the United
States became free persons. This generation had a significant influence on American
history, an influence that has yet to be fully recognized. During this remarkable
period of transition, former slaves stabilized their family lives, sought to control
their work environments, established their own schools and churches, and
participated in public life as citizens. While these goals may appear straightforward
to us today, they were anything but simple to achieve at the time. The transition
from slavery to freedom was as extraordinary as it was complex. Newly freed
African Americans experienced both boundless joy and excruciating disappointment
as they established themselves as free persons. Freed people frequently encountered
violent resistance to their efforts to become paid workers and active citizens. Many
white southerners refused to accept former slaves as free persons.
The state of Tennessee provides a particularly rich case study of the transition from
slavery to freedom during the Civil War and Reconstruction. Second only to Virginia
in the number of skirmishes and battles on its soil, Tennessee was at the heart of the
conflict between North and South. The chaos of war visited many Tennessee
communities and served to break down the bonds that kept 275,000 individuals
enslaved. Most Tennessee

Men
Everyone have their own distinct characteristic that make them who they are. Being
able relate to others from our common interest and how our personality compliments
each other. We can be charming , likeable, and other times personalities has it s
flaws. Blake in The Five Forty Three by John Cheever and Dr. Landis in My sister
Marriage by Cynthia Marshall Rich are two individual that has their own character
traits, their relationship with others and theme of the story.
Dr. Landis is a widowed man with two daughters Olive and Sarah Ann. Dr. Landis
daughter described him as a gentlemen, that is intelligent , well respected, and
great at giving advice. He went to Harvard and that is one reason he is different
from the other men around here. He is a scholar and not bound to provincial ideas.
People here respect him and come to him for advice (Rich 203). Dr. Landis is a
well known man due to his statues but he also has his own flaws. He can be
manipulative towards his daughters. He does not want secrets between his daughter
and him and will do everything to make them feel ashamed by not being open. When
Dr. Landis seen Sarah Ann shove the paper under the blotter he insisted that she
showed him the letter, but Sarah Ann explained that it was private and silly but in Dr.
Landis eyes nothing is silly.
Then he was all sad and hurt and said this wasnt a family where we keep things

The company s target market is a mass of retail and other industries. They designed
their product to be a one size fits all with the flexibility to match benefits to any
consumer. In general, retailers are the prime candidates for this type of product,
however not segmenting further will hinder the execution of a marketing strategy
and overall profitability. A deeper analysis into the target market is necessary.
Problem Statement
Does the company know the size of the market?
Smart Card LLC has failed to correctly identify its target market and understand its
size. They want their product to appeal to the masses. Successfully implementing a
one size fits all product without a specific marketing scheme is likely to fail.
Smart Card LLC did not specify its pricing strategy. A comparison of price strategies
with the competition was not discussed either. One aspect not considered is that
smart card users will need to update their current technology in order to benefit from
the company s product. This could require significant capital which only specific
company s would be willing to pay. This severely limits the potential market size and
must be factored into its pricing plan.
Another interesting company decision is the use of regional sales force in the
promotion process. By placing its sales force into regions the company is asking
them to sell to both small and large firms alike. Salespeople with little experience
Histamine Argument Definition
The contribution of histamine and its receptors in neurogenic inflammation and
nociception has been widely demonstrated in preclinical models (Rosa and Fantozzi,
2013). Likewise, there is evidence in clinical studies that some antihistaminic or
histamine H1 receptor antagonists such as diphenhydramine or pyrilamine are able to
produce analgesia as simple entities (Rumore and Schlichting, 1986; Raffa, 2001;
Fujita et al., 2013). A recent study demonstrated that a diphenhydramine ointment
exerted a prompt and marked analgesiceffect in elderly patients with osteoarthritis and
/or osteoporosis who complained of bone joint muscle pain(Fujita et al., 2013).
However, the use histamine H1 receptor antagonists alone for the relief of clinical
pain does not are authorized (Fujita et al., 2013).... Show more content on

The Importance Of The Financial Service Sector
The financial service sector plays a crucial role in supporting UK s businesses which
in turn helps to boost its economy. By means of financial services the financial
reforms augment economic growth thereby helping to construct a competitive and
robust financial system exempted from taxpayer support and coordinated at an
international level. The financial servicessector consists of firms like banking,
insurance, organised and informal markets, asset management together with a wide
array of supporting professional services. In the UK the Financial Services Sector
relies upon the systems of supervision and regulation put into operation by the
government which promises to deliver the good quality service as well as security.

Gymnastics Springboard
The topic of this experiment is to determine which type of gymnastics springboard
will give the highest elevation. There are two types of springboards used in vaulting
the traditional springboard and the air board. Based on research the hypothesis states
that if a gymnast jumps on an air board then the heightoff the board will be higher
than if jumping on a traditional springboard.
To begin with, the vault has been in the Olympics for men since 1896 and for
women since 1952. The vault requires a gymnast to run down a runway, jump on a
springboard, and flip over the vault table. The springboard is a very important piece
in the vault. It is made up of a platform and springs and is used to help get the
gymnast up in the air. This experiment was chosen to determine if one type of
springboard gives and advantage over the other. ... Show more content on

Both the traditional and air springboards are widely used and sanctioned by USAG
guidelines. The traditional springboard uses up to six vertical springs while the air
board uses up to 40 horizontal springs. Gymnasts appear to defy gravity when they
are doing their flips but it is really physics and Newton s 3rd Law in action. When a
gymnast jumps on a springboard the springs compress and then decompress pushing
the gymnast into the air. This is an example of Newton s 3rd Law of Motion which
states that every action has an equal but opposite reaction (tackk.com/c003hs). Before
the gymnast jumps on the springboard the board and springs have potential energy.
When the gymnast jumps on the springboard it turns into kinetic energy and causes
the board to push the gymnast up. The larger number of springs in the air board have
more potential energy which leads to the hypothesis that it will provide the greatest
Impact Of Nursing Professionals On The Workplace
Impacts on Nursing Professionals Health in the Workplace Nursing is a physically
and psychologically demanding profession that can lead to injury and accidents in
the workplace. Some of these injuries result in worker compensation claims due to
the disabling nature of the injury. Overexertion injuries cost America $13.6 billion
in 2010 (nominal) compared to $10.0 billion in 1998 despite much research on
safer handling practices during this period (Marucci Wellman et al., 2015, p. 57)
Nurses can experience injuries when they need to lift a patient and there is no
proper assistance or lifting equipment. Many nurses work rotating shift schedules
that disturb sleep patterns increasing the potential for accidents or injury. The
number one cause of claims comes from lifting or moving a patient. There have
been few attempts to address these issues that impact nursing professionals in the
hospital setting. There are a variety of health issues that arise for nursing
professionals, there are issues where it is hard for them to get proper nutrition
during the demands of their shift routine. Nursing is associated with a wide variety
of hazards, including biological, chemical, and physical hazards that may cause
occupational illness, as well as ergonomic and psychological hazards due to the
demanding nature of the profession. (Jordan, Nowrouzi Kia, Gohar, Nowrouzi, 2015,

you notice how as all the shouting an anger coming from inside is being made an
all Craggs does is keep his little sister Hannah safe and reassuring her everything
will be okay. This shows us a more soft, sensitive side of Craggs. Craggs doesn t
have a stable home lifestyle from indirect characterisation which represents the
way he acts out, in order to gain his parents attention, instead of always fighting
with each other. On page 157 Craggs say to Joel in the letter I had to lie on my
release conditions and say I d be living with the old s (as if that would ever help
me), this signifies how Craggs thinks his parents don t care about him. Another
struggle Craggs face is the fear of not being loved. Craggs doesn t have any
affection from anyone besides his sister and Joel. He fears that he want ever be
loved. In the text we read how Craggs only friend is Joel and how Joel is the person
Craggs can be honest and loyal too. But after the whole incident Craggs fear he has a
lost that sense of affection. All of his internal struggles associated in the novel are
presented throughout the whole
How Does Virginia Woolf Use Non Conventional Places In
Mrs...
I think that Virginia Woolf uses different angles or non conventional places because
she tries to define the kind of life that British people had at the time and this is
helpful to understand the context. During Mrs. Dalloway s day, the characters move
through different places in London, frequenting streets or parks. Thus, location
becomes important because it remarks the contrast between the characters public
and private selves along with the social classes where they belong. Furthermore,
some places are described to remind the reader the time in which the story unfolds.
For instance, one of the most recognizable places is the Big Ben. It represents the
time that moves forward or that Clarissa is running out of time. It is especially
important because the rest of the characters are trapped in... Show more content on

It is because of the awareness of death that even the most ordinary everyday events
become meaningful for the characters; because we are aware that we are going to
die at some moment. If death did not exist, there would be no point in doing
anything. Additionally, Clarissa is often contrasted with Septimus, a shell shocked
World War I hero who is mentally ill. He can be seen as Clarissa s alter ego and
Woolf s double as well, since he has a similar mental disease. Since Clarissa and
Septimus never meet, the mention of Septimus suicide during Clarissa s party is
important because Mrs. Dalloway becomes aware of death; that death is part of life;
that there is no life without death; that we cannot truly live until we accept that.
Concerning Septimus, when he decides to kill himself he wants to be truly free and
find life in death, making himself aware that life and death are always connected. In a
world that moves fast, that constantly reminds us that time is running, death becomes
the connection between both
The Cooper-JACOB Time-Jacob Method
1.1AQUIFER PAREMETER ESTIMATION
The transmissivity and storativity was estimated using the Cooper Jacob (1965) time
drawdown and Theis (1935) recovery methods. The field data was uploaded into the
FC program for Aquifer Test Analysis (2014 version) which calculated the values for
each method manually.
1.1.1COOPER JACOB TIME DRAWDOWN (1965)
Using the Cooper Jacob method the T and S value had been estimated for early and
late time, respectively, by plotting the best fitted straight line on the time drawdown
plot (figure 18). The T and S values are tabulated in table X. Borehole B2017 has
been excluded from the plots as no drawdowns have been measured. It should also
be noted that UO 13 plot should be ignored as the data obtained was ... Show more

UP 16 and UO 25 falls outside this range. The T during late time is very consistent,
ranging between 6.1 and 7.2 m2/d, for four of the six boreholes. UP 15 and UO 23
have high T value indicating water influx from the matrix as well as fractures. The
existences of fractures are supported by EC profiling and flow characteristics.
1.1.2THEIS RECOVERY (1935)
The transmissivity of the eight boreholes was estimated by plotting the best fitted
line on the Theis plot. This was done using the FC program for Aquifer Test
Analysis (2014 version) which produced the plots in figure 19. The transmissivity
is tabulated in table. By comparing the transmissivity estimated by Theis method to
the transmissivity estimated by Cooper Jacob method, the transmissivity
corresponds moderately. According to Thies method the T ranges from 22.4 to
54.8 m2/d with B2017 to have an exceptional high T of 111.0 m2/d. According
Cooper Jacob method the T ranges from 23.0 to 53.5 m2/d for early time and 6.1 to
28.0 m2/d for late time. By applying the transmissivity standards (Gheorghe, 1978)
six of the eight boreholes are classified as low potential and two boreholes as
moderate potential.
Since the test was done in a well in the Karoo Supergroup, it should be noted that the
Theis method tent to measure errors during the drawdown observed during the
constant rate test, specifically when the drawdown is measured manually (van Tonder
et al., 2001a).

Comparing The Nile, Mesopotamia, And Indus Civilizations
Comparing the Nile, Mesopotamia, and Indus Civilizations The civilizations of the
Nile River valley, the Mesopotamia valley, and Indus Valley marked human progress
toward fixed settlements and the development of a rich culture. These civilizations
shared many characteristics that contributed to their success. What made these
civilizations unique were the contributions that each one gave to the world. They
contributed their own ideas and accomplishments in the areas of religion, science, and
mathematics. These contributions defined each civilizationand how they would be
remembered, as well as, their importance to the world. These three civilizations
created cultures that built societies and people for future generations. Starting around
3100 BC they began. The rule of King Menes began the Egyptian civilization by
unifying the Upper and Lower Egyptinto one kingdom (Duiker and Speilvogel 17).
The Mesopotamian civilization located between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers,
began with the Sumerians people (Duiker and Speilvogel 9). Also, in now what is
modern day India, another civilization began. It was located in the Indus River
Valley with the Harappan people (Duiker and Speilvogel 38). Three early
civilizations laid the foundation for what would be the progression of future
civilizations, all of which would greatly influenced the world. All of these places had
consecutive civilizations that eventually collapsed, even though each preceding
civilization influenced
Nafta Case Study
The world has changed dramatically in the last twenty or so years with the advent of
the internet. One of the greatest changes to the world was e commerce. One of the
largest companies that came about because of this change is Amazon. Amazon is one
of the largest online e commerce stores that sells almost everything. This case study
will examine Amazon, international trade, and Canada.
To regulate international trade, governments put into place different forms of
regulation. Some of this regulation protects domestic companies while others
promote trade. Currently, the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada have a
free trade agreement to promote trade between the three countries. This agreement is
called the North American Free Trade... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is estimated that the Canadians will purchase around $50 billion annually by the
year 2019.
Canada s currency is called the Canadian Dollar, or CAD for short. According to
Bloomberg.com, the current ratio between USD and the CAD is $1.2621 to $1
USD. The Canadian Dollar has displayed a trend over the past year of its value
dropping. This drop in value on the global exchange will affect prices in Canada.
As the CAD value drops, its exports will be cheaper for other nations while imports,
like products from Amazon, will be more expensive for the Canadian people. The
dropping value of CAD will continue to change prices and might cause products
imported into Canada by Amazon to be priced out of the market.
A helpful tool to consider when discussing the possibilities of a culture for a particular
company is the Hofstede s Cultural Dimension. Hofstede s Cultural Dimension
studies different aspects of a nation s culture in comparison to other cultures around
the world. Each part of the Hofstede s Cultural Dimensions deals with how specific
cultures react to different scenarios. The Hofstede s Cultural Dimension is
subdivided into six specific categories. These categories, also called indexes include
the following: Power Distance (PDI), Individualism versus Collectivism (IDV),
Masculinity versus Femininity (MAS), Uncertainty avoidance index (UAI), Long

Nichiren Diashonin s Buddhism
Faith 24x7
Section 1
Introduction
Happiness in not a life without problems, but rather the strength to overcome the
problems that come our way. There is no such thing as a problem free life;
difficulties are unavoidable. The manner in which we experience and react to our
problems depends on us. Buddhism teaches that we are each responsible for our own
happiness or unhappiness. Our vitality the amount of energy or life force we have is
in fact the single most important factor in determining whether or not we are happy.
We can never find happiness if we don t challenge our weaknesses and change from
within.
The practice of Nichiren Buddhism empowers us to increase our life force, overcome
our weaknesses, face our problems, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nichiren writes: [Myo] is simply the mysterious nature of our life from moment to
moment, which the mind cannot comprehend or words express (WND 1, p. 4.).
The three attributes of myo are: to open, to be fully endowed and to revive. Ho is
the Dharma or Law, and together the two characters of myoho refer to the Mystic
Law. Myo and ho are also identified by Nichiren as corresponding to life and death,
which Buddhism regards as the two aspects myo, latent and unseen and ho, active
and manifest of a deeper life continuum.
Renge is the lotus flower. The lotus blooms and produces seeds at the same time
and symbolizes the simultaneity of cause and effect. The circumstances and quality
of our individual lives are determined by the causes and effects, both good and bad,
that we accumulate through our thoughts, words and actions at each moment. This
is called our karma . The law of cause and effect explains that we each have
personal responsibility for our own destiny. We create our destiny and we can
change it. The most powerful cause we can make is to chant Nam myoho renge kyo.
As we chant, the effect of Buddhahood is simultaneously created in the depths of our
lives and will definitely manifest in time. The lotus flower grows and blooms in a
muddy pond, yet remains pure and fee from defilement.
Kyo represent sutra, the voice or teaching of a Buddha. It also means sound, rhythm
or vibration.
The Power inherent in the characters Nam myoho renge kyo is
Examples Of Sacrifice In The Highwayman
It is acceptable for someone to sacrifice oneself for the sake of another. A sacrifice
is when someone gives something that is important to them in order to help
another. First, The Highwayman is a good example of why sacrifice is acceptable.
In this story, Bess sacrificed her life in order to warn the highwayman, because
soldiers held her captive and were planning to kill him. This is acceptable because
the king s men were probably going to kill her anyway, and doing this she saved
the highwayman. If he were to die she probably thought that there would be no
reason to live anyway. The next piece of text that supports sacrifices is The Third
Wish. In this story, Leita sacrificed her freedom to stay loyal to Mr.Peters. This is a
good sacrifice
The Pros And Cons Of UNICEF
Unmistakably, innumerable world events have set the stage for a multitude of
moments of peace, liberty, and justice throughout the globe that have been long
awaited for extensive periods of time. The key formula of momentous changes
throughout history have not only been political decisions, but also the commonly
associated aspect of warfare. Together, these often chaotic melting pots of policy
and conflict have paved the way for ending extensive moments of injustice and
hardship while also toppling the authoritative rule of brute dictators such as Adolf
Hitler. However, quite commonly the long fought pathways towards victory and
sequential freedom leaves behind a long tail of destruction and chaos often paid for
in the cost of lives, limbs, damaged societies and post traumatic stress disorder. On
the positive side, however, what these long fought battles sometimes give birth to are
organizations and policies that emphasize the necessity of not only preserving peace,
but also aiding those commonly negatively impacted by those moments of disorder
and chaos. A great example of an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

God Created Humanity For A Purpose
Assess the claim that god created humanity for a purpose
It can be argued that god did create humanity for a purpose, as why would he
endow us with sense, reason and intellect if he intended us to forgo their use? It
therefore logically follows that we must have some purpose, hidden or not that we
are expected to fulfil, also why would the bible detail the creation of humans in such
detail as is demonstrated in genesis 2, why would god, in this story, prioritise
mankind over all others when the purpose if said entities is made apparent as
animals are made to feed man, so if god endeavoured to assign a purpose to those
supposedly subservient to mankind, why would he not give a purpose for mankind to
fulfil, why also, according to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However this is also subject to a counter argument, as perhaps it could be argued that
god has endowed us with intellect, so perhaps we are supposed to use that intellect
to discern what our purpose is, in my personal opinion, it is naГЇve to suggest that
mankind has a singular purpose, as I believe that our purpose is ever changing and
exists in a constant state of flux, as our purpose cannot be simply to worship god,
or to reproduce, no, I believe that mankind does not have a singular purpose as
such, as is implied in the question, as would god not have endowed us simply with
the qualities necessary in order to fulfil a singular purpose, therefore unless said
purpose was extremely intricate in its guidelines, we would have been left with
qualities missing, as if our purpose was simply to worship god, why would god
give us the sense of knowledge that leads us to question his very existence, would it
not be beneficial for him to limit us in our intellect, that we will flourish as a species
but not be granted the capability for critical analysis which leads us to doubt

Butterflies in your stomach, wind ripping at your coat, eyes closed, praying you
don t die as you point your skis down the mountain says dad as he describes what
our first day will be like while we travel the sixteen hour drive to Winter Park,
Colorado. Most of this drive is dull, all we see is flat Kansas and its huge windmills,
until we hit Denver. Then our eyes light up, hearts beat faster and we can t breath as
we gaze upon the mountain tops. We wind up those beautiful mountains, and our
anticipation builds the higher we climb. We get closer and closer to the resort when
we feel a sharp turn as we pull into the cabin. Anticipation turns to disappointment
when we realize we have to wait until morning to hit the slopes. Suddenly everyone is
gloomy, moping around the cabin unpacking, longing for tomorrow.
Finally it s morning. Everyone is rushing around, scarfing down food, and jumping
into the vehicles. We stop by the skirental shop for our skis, which is a long ordeal.
Each person has to read and sign a big pamphlet, get insurance checked, and try on
several pairs of ski boots and skis until the fit is right. We have to do that for fifteen
people. It s awful, but worth the wait as we head to the mountain.
We finally arrive at the mountain. We trudge through the snowin our awkward ski
boots, stop near the lift to clip on our skis and get into line. We are given a brief run
through of how to get on the lift as we scoot forward to a line, being careful to not
Insulate Your Pipe
If you want to prevent water damage to your home this winter, you need to be
proactive. Here are four easy steps you can take to prevent water damage to your
home this winter.
#1 Insulate Your Pipes
The first thing you need to do is make sure that all your pipes are well insulated.
This will help keep your pipes warm even during the coldest days of the month. It is
relatively easy to insulate your pipes. You just need to purchase pipe insulation from
your local hardware store. It should slip right over your pipes and you can then wrap
your pipes with insulation tape.
#2 Keep Your HomeWarm
Insulating your pipes is not the only way to protect them. You can also protect them
by keeping your home warm. While you are away from your home for work, keep
your heat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can easily purchase hot water heater insulation kits from your local hardware
store, or you can have your HVAC technician install it. Basically, the kit should
include an insulated blanket that wraps around your hot water heater and is taped in
place.
Insulating your water heater will help ensure that your water heater stays warm and
leak free.
#4 Clean Your Gutters
Another way that water gets into your house is through your roof. You can prevent
leaks from developing by keeping your gutters clear of debris. When debris
accumulates in your gutters, it can cause water to get back up, which can lead to
water damage inside of your home.
#5 Move The Snow Away From Your House
Finally, if you live somewhere that gets a significant amount of snow during the
winter months, you need to move the snow away from your house before it starts to
melt. You should shovel and remove all the snow so there is at least a three to five
feet buffer in between your house and the snow.
Removing the snow that is piled up against your house will prevent the snow from
melting and flooding your basement or the lower levels of your
Auto Repair Of A Family Owned Small Business Essay
A family owned small business is defined as, a corporation that is entirely owned by
the members of a single family. (IFC, 2016) For a family owned business to succeed
it, must establish and maintain the following attributes, the family s commitment and
ability to carry on the business, the ownership structure, meaning having enough
capital to grow and having the most capable individuals in the right positions to run
the business. It must have a strong governance of the company and a dynamic
portfolio to allow for further growth. In addition, wealth managementis key in
maintaining the businesses current wealth and securing it for future generations,
which leads to either creating or engaging with foundations to help promote the
family values from generation to generation. (Casper, Dias, Elstrodt 2010) I chose
to examine the auto repair business, as my husband owns an auto repair and resale
shop, therefore I am more familiar with this industry of family owned businesses
than other types of family owned businesses. The auto repair business has been
around for many years and is not about to go anywhere, anytime soon. The target
market is anyone with a car. Cars are required to be maintained and repaired in
order for them to run. Most American s rely on their vehicles to get them to work,
to school, and so on. According to, Sageworks, people are holding on to their cars
longer and more people who do not own cars are in the market to become car owners.

The Song American Pie Is A Representation Of Loss
During...
The song American Pie is a representation of loss during the transition into the
1970s. It was written in 1971 by Don McLean and filled with his views on the state
of society, political changes, and cultural changes. The cultural changes and the loss
of everything society knew produced the lost generation that McLean was apart of.
He demonstrated his disapproval of the direction of the country by using music, faith,
and war as examples of the changes and loss his generation faced.
Music heavily influences and creates a voice for the people of the time period it is
written in and also reflects the tone of the time period. Mclean s generation was
impacted greatly by classic rock and roll artists, such as Elvis Presley and Buddy
Holly. Music direction and message portrayed the prosperous nature of the 1950s
and what life was like before the 1970s. The change in music direction rooted from a
tragedy that Mclean recognized with the verse, But February made me shiver . In
February 3, 1959 Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valensand J.P. Richardson died in a plane
crash. Theses musicians were Mclean s heroes and rock and roll legends. McLean
considered this to be the day the music died . After their deaths, music drastically
changed. New musicians and styles of music came into play. Buddy Holly and the
other musicians before the Vietnam war sang uplifting songs or songs with religious
references. The verse A long long time ago, is referring to the time period of rock and
roll and a

Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation ( Osic ) Is...
Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted
with minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input
multiple output (MIMO) system performance. The optimum detection technique
increases the system complexity with improved error rate performance. Therefore,
MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives reduced error rate compared to
traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The system performance
is analyzed in a composite fadingenvironment which deals with multipath and
shadowing, known as Weibull gamma (WG) fading environment. Along with the
composite fading, a composite noise i.e. additive white generalized Gaussian noise
(AWGGN) model is taken into account to form various noise scenarios such as
impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and uniform noise. Consequently,
generalized Q function is used to develop such noise scenario. The average symbol
error probability (ASEP) of MIMOsystem is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude
modulation(16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC detection in WG fading with AWGGN.
Analytical expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H function (FHF). These
expressions demonstrate the best fit to simulation results.
Keywords MIMO, MMSE OSIC, WG fading, AWGGN, M QAM, ASEP.

Furthermore, this acquisition explains the currency translation adjustment made in
the theme parks segment during 2015 and 2016 to represent current United States
dollars. Additionally, another enormous acquisition was in the filmed
entertainment segment in 2016. Comcast acquired DreamWorks Animation for
$3.8 billion, of which $2.7 bilion was recognized in 2016 (Stelter, 2016). With this
acquisition, NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burker said Dreamworks will help us grow
our film, television, theme parks and consumer products businesses for years to
come (Stelter, 2016). Consequently, the entrance into the filmed entertainment and
theme parks segment explains the decrease in gross profit percentage from 2014
to 2016 along these business segments. Moreover, Comcast closed a multi year
movie distribution deal with Alibaba to tap into the Chinese Market, which
Furious 7 and Jurassic World made almost $630 million in the box office (Krause,
2015). This deal was a move towards distribution of their filmed entertainment
segment outside of the United States. Moving forward, cable networks increased
$232 million, which is in part to the reclassifications of certain operations and
businesses from corporate and other to this segment. Be on the lookout for
NBCUniversal s new $3.3 billion park in Beijing set to open in 2019 (Hertzler, 2014).
In conclusion, Comcast s goodwill is $35,980 million along all lines of
Driving Cars Should Be Allowed On Our Roads
I support that self driving cars should be allowed on our roads. Think about riding
in your car without being paying attention to all the details on the roads. Think
about leaving work exhausted and get into your car, push a button, type your
home address and the next thing you know you are in your parking at your house.
Let s think about that last party when you had that extra glass of wine, and you are
alone staring at your car wondering how you will get home. The self driving car is
the solution to those struggles that we all face at any time in our lives. The future
of moving people and goods will bring as new transportation technologies, an these
technologies will make it possible to move faster and safer than ever before, but
law and regulations and rigorous planning need to take place at the same paste as
these technologies. The self driving cars are coming on our roads and I can t wait
to that day when they will not be fiction but a fact. Self driving cars if allowed will
make life easier to commuters and will reduce the mortality rate due to road
accidents. Most of the roads accidents are due to reckless driving and drunk
driving. According to the International Organization for Road Accident Prevention
(IORAP), 1.3 million road deaths occur worldwide every year and more than 50
million people are seriously injured. There are 3,500 deaths a day or 150 every
hour, and nearly three people get killed on the road every minute (IORAP).

Joint Light Tactical Vehicle ( Jltv )
Introduction
The joint light tactical vehicle (JLTV) is being destined to initiate a new era of the
U.S. military tactical vehicle that is designed to meet universal requirements for the
future warfare and in hostile environments. Thus, at the same time, Joint Light
Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) has been offering fruitful case study for the assessment on its
program management and procurement processes.
Therefore, this paper will briefly provide fundamental assessment on the JLTV
program from the requirement development through its current state including
budgeting, acquisition process and some challenges faced in the requirements. In
addition, it will also highlight some observations on best practices that might be
applicable for the future ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, enhanced survivability and both strategic and operational
transportability by sea and air are also crucial for the JLTV project requirements.
The primary mission of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) is to provide
protected, sustained, and networked light tactical mobility to the Joint forces, capable
of worldwide deployment across the full spectrum of military operations and mission
profiles under all weather and terrain conditions.
In addition, it has been designed that the JLTV would support C3 in both immobile
and mobile modes, various wider ranges in complex and dynamic operational
environments.
Nevertheless, initial concept composed of three variants based on different payload
capabilities, four passenger Combat Tactical Vehicle (CTV) and a two passenger
Combat Support Vehicle (CSV) variants were survived as a final choice. The Joint
Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) of the DoD that provides a close oversight
to joint acquisition programs and makes recommendations to the Defense Acquisition
Board has approved the JLTV program which would be led by the Army in November
2006.
It was notable that, even though, joint Army/Marine Corps had intended to issue a
Request for Proposal (RFP) for Technology Development Phase by October 2007, the
Pentagon s acquisition executive, John Young disapproved the issuance of the RFP
due to deep concern on funding adequacy, technical maturity, and shifting
requirements.
Business Law And How It Ties Into Our Everyday Lives
Research Paper Business law and how it ties into our everyday lives is very
important. To understand these laws and find them applicable in certain life issues
is something I feel that every citizen should have a grasp of. With this research
paper I will focus on the issue of copyrights, lawsuits, trademarks and how it affects
designers and artist. I myself am a clothing designer and have my own brand
5ivepillars. Numerous times during my years as an artist and designer I have seen
companies both big and small rip off my work. Most of the time these companies and
the individuals behind them steal a concept or ideayou may have and replicate it using
different colors. This trend has grown more and more in the fashion industry while
leading to a large amount of lawsuits, and trademarksuits. But these lawsuits have not
stopped companies from stealing intellectual property. Some such as forever21 have
blatantly stolen dress and clothing ideas straight off of runaways and have had
them in stores ready to sell two weeks after the dresses were show cased. This time
of disagreed for the law sadly happens a lot to designers and creatives in the United
states. Lets see how this happens.
Copyrights by definition are the exclusive legal right, given to an originator or an
assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical
material, and to authorize others to do the same. By reading the definition one might
feel comfortable with the process of
Disadvantages Of Recycling
Gift wrapping materials, such as gift wrap, are often non recyclable (Earth911qtd. in
Gift). This is because wrapping paper is often dyed and laminated, and can contain
additives, such as gold and silver coloring, glitter and plastics, and usually has
nonrecyclable tape on it (Earth911 qtd. in Gift). Including too much non recyclable
material in the recyclingbin can keep an entire load of material from being recycled,
so it is important to only place accepted items in the recycling bin (Malone). Trying
to recycle non recyclable items can cause more harm to the environment than
simply sending the non recyclable items to the landfill to begin with. If looking to
buy recyclable wrapping paper, it is better to stick with the simple stuff, like basic
craft paper without a shiny coating (Miller). But really, it s better to reuse giftwrap
or to avoid it entirely (Malone). This is because making wrapping paper recyclable is
not the most effective solution.
Yes, recycling is often preferable to sending materials straight to the landfill, but
recycling has its own demons. A big concern regarding recycling is the possibility
of encouraging over consumption. As award winning environmental journalist Amy
Westervelt explains in her essay, Can Recycling Be Bad for the Environment ,
people will ease the guilty they feel for massively over consuming disposable goods
by tossing the used items into their recycling bins (213). But not everything that s
recyclable gets recycled recycling is

Symbolism In Short Story
Symbolism is a type of literary device which is used by most authors in many
different literary genres, such as poems, short stories, and novels. It is the practice
of using symbols to convey a more profound thought and idea to the readers, which
can be displayed in various ways, such as objects, places, events, and facts. Symbols
play a significant role in written works, as it helps the readers to understand the
intended meanings and words that are associated with the events in the story. In the
three short stories selected, symbolism is used to reveal the underlying message of
the story. In this case, symbolism signifies social issues that are rampant in our
society. The three short stories, The Lesson , Indian Education , and... Show more

Furthermore, there is a climactic scene in the story where Sylvia and Sugar
interrupted a ceremony in the Catholic Church. Their unethical behaviour shows their
unfamiliarity in a formal setting. Bambara demonstrates the significant gap between
two different social classes in her story that were evident in the style of dressing,
wealth, language, behaviour, and quality of education.
Moving onto the next short story, Alexie s Indian Education tackles social issues of
racial discrimination and stereotyping, which stems from his personal experiences.
As he was growing up, Victor faces discrimination from white people which made
his childhood full of sorrow, fear, and misery. Victor explains how Indians are
often perceived as outsiders and failures. Victor lives in a community where there
is a gap between people from different cultures. Alexie uses different symbols to
emphasize racial discrimination. Cutting one s hair is one of these symbols which
expresses Native Indian s culture and identity. Victor states She sent a letter home
with me that told my parents to either cut my 14 braids or keep me home from class
(Alexie 321). The ultimatum Victor received affirms the boundaries that were set in
place. It s either Victor succumbs to their will or defend his culture. Many Native
Americans perceive their hair as a memento of their identity and culture. Moreover,
he was tormented by his peers verbally and
The Imitation Game ( 2014 ) Directed By Morten Tyldum
The Imitation Game (2014) directed by Morten Tyldum is a carefully crafted film
that depicts the life of a British scientist named Alan Turing. The film exposes the
audience to Turing s formative time in school, his vital work during World War II,
and his troubling time after he was persecuted for his sexual orientation. Though
the film focuses on Turing s groundbreaking and often considered crucial work on
the German enigma code, it reveals that the British government and society, during
that time, treated homosexuals harshly. This indirect narrative in the film
highlights the personal consequences of the treatment of homosexuals was used as
a tool to further the cause of LGBT rights during and after the time of production.
The film itself was also a product of the rise in the LGBT rights movement across
the world. In this paper, I argue that the film The Imitation Game was a product of
a series of event that occurred within the LGBT movement, and was used as a tool
to further the cause. The film The Imitation Game is a product of the time in
which it was produced. The film explores Alan Turing s life while not directly
focusing on his sexual orientation. Yet, within the film the topic is displayed and
holds a powerful message. To fully comprehend this message knowledge of events
leading up to the release of the film is crucial. Production of The Imitation Game
began in September of 2013 (Lussier, 2013), however the discussion of gay rights
had begun years before. In the
The Failure Of Japanese Imperialism In China
Japanese imperialism was uniquely derived during the nineteenth century within the
structure of the informal empires of the West in East Asia. Due to Japanese political
feudally and economically backwards system, it was a victim to powerful Western
Empires such as Russia, Britain and the United States. They had imposed similar
legal and commercial disabilities previously in China to serve their imperialistic
needs. Japan was officially integrated into the treaty port system by 1860, thus
establishing it s first step towards incorporation into the world economics. The
international political environment was crucial in structure Japanese imperialism
particularly in two ways. Firstly, treaty privileges in China became Japanese
definition of success, hence structuring Japanese responses and international
aspirations. Secondly, it raised awareness for an unavoidable setting for action.
Historically, Japan would appease and seek satisfaction within the structure of
western imperialism. Thereafter, Japanese imperialism reformed internally in
response to the demanding international environment. After the fall of the Tokugawa
government between 1867 1868, the new Meiji government established a modernistic
regime. The Meiji Empire created a western style constitution in 1889 intended to
crown Japan s acquisition of western style sovereignty, whilst exalting the emperor to
divine status. Japanese leaders had been able to form an accepted trajectory with

Comparing the Grandmother in The Necklace and A Good

The Grandmother in The Necklace and A Good Man is Hard to Find
The main characters Mrs. Loisel in The Necklace and the grandmother in A Good
Man is Hard to Find are very similar because both these characters refused to admit to
a mistake that they had made. They both had the same motivation prior to the mistake
and they also had the same reason as to why they wanted to keep quiet about it.
Although Mrs. Lisle s and the grandmother s penalties were different, it is still fair
to compare the two because either way, dead or alive, both their lives were ruined.

Instead, both the grandmother and Mrs. Loisel chose to be selfish, and it got them in
a whole lot of trouble.
Mrs. Loisel and the grandmother are also similar in their reasons for keeping quiet.
They were both too embarrassed to say anything when they found out they had made
a mistake. Mrs. Loisel was too embarrassed to tell her friend that she had lost the
necklace, because she thought so highly of her rich friend. She had a rich friend, a
schoolmate at the convent, whom she did not like to visit, she suffered so much
when she returned. (66) Because Mrs. Loisel thought so highly of her friend, she
was too embarrassed to tell her that the diamond necklace was gone. Instead she
chose to keep her secret quiet and work to pay off the loans they got when they
purchased a new necklace. If Mrs. Loisel would have swallowed her pride, and told
her friend what happened, it would have saved 10 years of her life, and her
appearance.
The grandmother also kept her secret quiet due to embarrassment. When she
realized that the house she was talking about was in Tennessee not Georgia, she was
too embarrassed to say anything. The thought was so embarrassing that she turned
red in the face and her eyes dilated and her feet jumped up. . .the cat, sprang onto

What Is Joint Ventures
What is a Joint Venture?
Joint ventures can take on many looks, but the basic gist is that two or more
companies come together to pool their talents, resources and customer lists for the
benefit of all. The joint venture allows you to share advertising dollars for a more
effective campaign and gives you the opportunity to ride the coattails of a bigger,
more established company in order to boost your reputation and build your customer
base.
Most joint ventures take place between related companies that share a similar target
market, but do not compete directly in the goods and services they offer.

Designing A Sales Subsidiary Structure
In the organizational context, I recommend Winch It to adopt Sales subsidiary
structure . I judged that it was the most appropriate stages to dive in among the four
stages of internationalization considering the company s situation and attitude. In the
staffing context, I recommend Winch It to take the ethnocentric approach in the
staffing context and the balance sheet approach in international compensation.
Finally, in international performance management, I listed several issues need to be
concerned and suggested adopt not TCN role conception but PCN role conception .
Introduction The main object of this portfolio is to provide the board with useful
advice for Winch It to develop an international business. Since they are uncertain of
what type of organizational structure they would build for international operations
and what country to expand, I reflected the board s demand and explanation of the
company s current situation mostly than other variables to compose my
recommendations. The organizational context I would like to recommend Winch It to
adopt Sales subsidiary structure . Typically, initial stage for manufacturing firms
entering international operations is exporting. Therefore, theoretically the optimal
organizational structure for Winch it which has no experience of in establishing any
form of oversea operation is Export department structure . However, I would like to
take a more realistic approach than this. The board is confident that Winch It
Effects Of Parental Investment On Children
Parental investment includes any investment by the parent in an individual offspring
that increases the offspring s chances of survival, at the cost of the parent s ability to
invest in other offspring (Travier, 1972). Since investing on themselves is as
important as investing on their children, parents have to choose between caring for a
child and acquiring the resources needed to insure their own productive and
reproductive successes (Turner McAndrew, 2006). This choice can be influenced by
the social, cultural and economic factors at householdlevel, and by socio demographic
factors at individual level. These factors may vary from culture to culture and
overtime. However, the following variables are the most frequently cited
determinants of parental investment on children.
i) Gender; the gender of the parent is the most widely reported determinant of parent`s
willingness to invest on children. This is mentioned across disciplines, from biology
through social anthropology, with similar conclusions but different explanations.
There is consensus that the gender identity of the parent through which income is
received determines how the resources are invested on child welfare. Studies
(Agarwal, 1997; Kabeer, 2000) indicated that income injected into the household
through the mother do more justice to the welfare of children compared to resources
injected through the father. Similarly, an exogenous increase in mothers income has
a larger effect on children`s outcomes than
The Effects Of Mind Wandering On The Classroom
There has been debate as to whether or not the everyday occurrence of mind
wandering affects the learning of those in higher education. Research has found a
connection between mind wandering and poor meta cognitive skills therefore leading
to a loss of attention in the classroom. Throughout the course of this essay it will be
discussed whether or not mind wandering does in fact have an impact on learning at a
higher educationlevel and if so how it affects it. Other components of the topic that
will be considered are whether there are people that are more susceptible to mind
wandering in an educational setting than others and also the measures used by
researchers to find the connection between student and the amount their minds
wander. The costs and benefits of mind wandering within higher educationwill be
debated and critically evaluated illustrating both sides of the argument. The essay will
be in favour of the opinion that the cost of mind wandering in the classroom
outweighs the benefits and in turn has an overall negative effect on the learning of
those in higher education. Mind Wandering more commonly referred to in everyday
life as day dreaming, is effectively the drifting of the mind from an intended task such
as listening to a lecturer at university to an unrelated idea, memory or other thought.
(Smallwood Schooler, 2006). It has been suggested throughout much researchthat
mind wandering can be a significant impairment to ones higher education. It is an
Automobile Car Body Is Made From Other Grades Of Low
Alloy...
1.0INTRODUCTION
Automobile car body is made from various grades of low alloy and low carbon
steels that are prone to corrosion in the absence of proper surface protection [1,2].
Therefore, car body is traditionally coated with primer, followed by paint for better
corrosion resistance. However, due to process complication, design intricacy and
other issues, it is often observed that despite of applying several layers of primer and
paint on the car body, it suffers from General, Pitting, and Crevice corrosion. When
such corrosion occurs within the warranty period, it usually costs the car
manufacturer significantly and more importantly, it results in bad customer
experience. The success of automobile industries depends on keeping the customer
satisfied with quality of product and services. Therefore, it is highly imperative that
such problems are identified at an early stage and find effective solutions to mitigate
them efficiently.
Cold rolled steel sheets remained the most widely used car body material. However,
to meet the future energy efficiency requirement of automobiles, automobile
industries will have to look for optimum way in designing and usage of steel sheets.
The standard TS 4011 summarizes the additional requirement for cold rolled sheets
for critical auto body components and outer panels. In general, steel alloy must have
high formability and high strength. In addition, car body material must have good
joining characteristics. It is a common observation
Irony In Stown Analysis
Southern gothic literature is known for the irony it produces, how it can derail an
entire story, and take the reader for a ride. Southern gothic literature s definition of
irony deals with the history of the south. The irony that is shown in Stown is the
tattooes on John s body, but also the fact that the Burt s ended up buying John s
property after he had passed. Irony in Stown is to keep the reader interested and
has them wanting to find out more. Throughout the podcast, many things are
thrown our way, the irony of those things make it that much more interesting.
Some things stand out more than others for the characteristic irony. One that sticks
out like a sore thumb to most readers is the fact the John loathed tattoos but was
completely covered in them when he passed away. Brian once caught a flash from
John of his chest and he then begins to talk about tattoos, The entirety of John s
chest is tattooed, and his shoulders too, though it s all perfectly covered when he s
wearing a t shirt. The flashing is quick, so I can t take it all in, but I see a glimpse of
what s possibly a beaker and maybe a clock type thing. It takes me aback, because
John has made clear to me how much he loathes tattoos. They re one of the things he
hates about Shittown. I believe he once called them an expression of hopelessness.
Doesn t compute. John has mentioned a few times that he hates tattoos and everyone
that has one is a low life. He knows that most people have them, and openly talks
Examples Of Postmodern Fragmentation Of Gender
Postmodern fragmentation of gender
According to Lee (1999), postmodern theories abandon modernist singular identities
for a fragmented version of history, where individuals are unstable, constantly moving
objects. Post structuralist discourse feminists have dramatically altered views of
gender and sex, creating a distinctly new paradigm for the concept of womanhood,
and providing a comprehensive demolition job on Western orthodoxies (Sheehan,
2004, p.21). In his way, identity is not only socially and culturally constructed, but it
also changes in different contexts, such as class, race or sexual orientation, and
established systems, such as Western hegemony, humanism, and the nature of reality,
are deconstructed (Woodward, 2002; Stoddart,... Show more content on

Using concepts, such as magical realism, Nights at the Circus questions what can be
considered real, and anticipates Butler s ideas on artificiality of gender and sexuality.
The protagonist, Fevvers, is the queen of ambiguities, goddess of in between states
(p.81), and, as such, her identity is a performance of characters, none of which can
be accepted with certainty, and deemed authentic. She is a virgin and a whore, a
female object on display, desired by men, and also a marvellous monster and an
alien creature (p.161); she is an aerialist, fabulous bird woman (p.15), yet her bodily
constitution is butch. Fevvers is, as Kerchy (2004), notes, a simulacra (p.101),
offering an infinite variety of female identities, no more a singular being (p.286).
Similarly to Bakhtin s (1986) concept of the carnivalesque, Fevvers performance
subverts norms, and denies any finality to her identity. This feminine masquerade
dismantles all existing norms and rules for gendered social division. Nights at the
Circus brings forth marginalised characters, women and freaks, and positions them
into a state of becoming, where there is no original, only layers of identities (Botescu

The principle of uniformitarianism states the processes occurring on Earth today are
very similar in manner as those throughout much of geologic times. In other words
the present is the key to the past. (Murck, B. W., Skinner, B. J., amp; Mackenzie, D.

3. How old are the rock formations in the area where you live and attend college or
university? How can you find out the answer to this question?
I live and attend college in the Valley of the Sun. Many of the rock formations here
are extremely old dating back nearly 2 billion years during a time period geologists
called the Precambrian Period (GeoHistory). Information to answer this question can
be found in news articles, biology journals, historical websites, and government and
educational readings as well.
4. Choose one of the geologic periods or epochs listed in Figure 3.8 and find out all
you can about it: How are rocks from that period identified? What are its most
characteristic fossils? Where are the best samples of rocks from your chosen period
found?
Rocks formed during the cretaceous period are identifiable in more ways than one
would think. The cretaceous period occurred at the end of the Mesozoic Era. Rocks
such as limestone, basaltic, clays, salts, gypsum, sandstone, conglomerates, and
shale s were found during this time period (Cretaceous Period). Sedimentary rocks
hold many fossils of the predominant organisms to inhabit the planet Earth
dinosaurs. Many of the rocks can be identified by the variation in their lithological
character and thickness of their sequences, or by the fossils that are discovered in
them. Some of the best samples of rocks from this time period can be found right

Global Warming Essay

  • 1. Global Warming Essay Writing an essay on the topic of global warming can be a challenging task that requires careful research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. The complexity arises from the vast amount of information available on the subject, encompassing scientific data, environmental impacts, socio-economic aspects, and potential solutions. Crafting a well-rounded essay requires the ability to synthesize these diverse elements into a cohesive and persuasive argument. The process of researching global warming involves delving into scientific journals, reports from environmental organizations, and reputable news sources. Understanding the intricacies of climate science and the various contributing factors to global warming is crucial for presenting accurate information. This not only demands time but also a keen ability to sift through a multitude of sources and discern the reliability of each. Furthermore, the essay must address the broader implications of global warming, such as its effects on ecosystems, weather patterns, and human societies. Analyzing the socio-economic impact requires a deep understanding of how climate change intersects with issues like food security, migration, and resource allocation. This interdisciplinary approach adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process. Crafting a compelling argument also involves considering potential counterarguments and addressing them thoughtfully. Anticipating and refuting opposing viewpoints requires a nuanced understanding of the subject matter and the ability to present a well-supported and convincing case. In terms of language and style, conveying the urgency and severity of global warming while maintaining a tone of objectivity and clarity is a delicate balance. The essay should engage the reader, making them aware of the gravity of the issue without resorting to alarmism. Achieving this balance involves careful word choice, a coherent structure, and a strong thesis statement that encapsulates the main argument. In conclusion, writing an essay on global warming is a demanding task that involves navigating through a vast amount of information, synthesizing diverse perspectives, and presenting a well- supported and coherent argument. It requires a combination of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. However, with dedication and careful attention to detail, one can create an essay that not only informs but also inspires action. This is because you know everything is about to change. In less than 24 hours you will be holding a glistening gold medal in your hand, standing up on the podium while the Star Spangled Banner blares for the whole world to hear and tears will stream down your face. Taking one look back at your coach, Teri McKeever, you realize if it wasn t for her you would not be here. Not only would the reader receive Coughlin s times, but also her competitor s times as well. Knowing others times make it more of a real experience and allow the reader to feel like they are standing on deck with Natalie and her coach, McKeever. Also, the book states, In the end, Emily had chosen Cal over Arizona, and Helen felt the Bears could validate that decision by prevailing. This quote along with the quote So Crossen called Amano, asked if she d made a decision and nearly dropped the phone when she answered, Yes. I think I m coming to Cal. allows the reader to have an insight on some of Coughlin s teammates. It s important for the reader to be informed on how Natalie s fellow swimmers became recruited because each one of the swimmers in the book both benefitted and interacted with Coughlin. Each one of them played a role in Natalie s life and that is why the authors informed the reader of how her teammates were recruited. The book also explains some of their personal lives

  • 8. Sociology Of South African Sociology South African sociology (Webster, 2004, p. 28) can be considered as the result of the combination of different types of sociology due to the various changes that taken place in South African society throughout its history (Webster, 2004, p. 28). Marxism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which is one of the main contributors to this sociology, was coined by Karl Marx, a German sociologist who by observing the various relations within a society came up with his own beliefs on how society has changed and how it can be improved which have been widely used across the world (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117). He believed that in the past, people lived in collective groups and were not divided by economic status but shared what they had and focused more on working together than working for each other and this was referred to as communism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). However, Marx suggested that as time progressed people began to fight for land and possessions and this led to weaker groups being kept as slaves (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 18) and were used for the benefit of their capturers and this ultimately created a distinction between those who had power and those who did not (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). Marx also suggested that from this came what is known as capitalism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which was the result of technological advancements such as the use of machines to produce goods in factories (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117)

But the one thing we have in common is we both like baseball so he decided to take me to a baseball game to teach some of the stuff he knew about baseball. But that s not all we were going to do that Sunday. We were in the car on our way to the Baseball game. It was pretty hot outside, 90 degrees or so. We were going 60 miles an hour down I 55. I sprinted to the food stand to get a hot dog and a pretzel. Lightning came next, and it was loud. People screamed every time lightning struck, and I was worried also. I got pretty good video of lightning almost striking a building across the highway. As we watched the rain, we heard very concerning news. Did you hear that there is a tornado back home? someone said with a sad tone. I almost peed myself. Me and my dad went and stood underneath the safest area of Busch, and it got pretty packed. The security guards were escorting people from the top 2 levels of Busch. Those were an hour and thirty minutes I would like to forget. So many drunk people in the same area. Lightning stopped an 1 hour and 30 minutes later, but it was still raining but the umpires started the game! It was 11:30 at night, and I was tired. We decided to just go
  • 10. Emancipationawassone Of The American Civil War Emancipationawassone of the most profound consequences of the American Civil War. During and after the war, about four million enslaved African Americans in the United States became free persons. This generation had a significant influence on American history, an influence that has yet to be fully recognized. During this remarkable period of transition, former slaves stabilized their family lives, sought to control their work environments, established their own schools and churches, and participated in public life as citizens. While these goals may appear straightforward to us today, they were anything but simple to achieve at the time. The transition from slavery to freedom was as extraordinary as it was complex. Newly freed African Americans experienced both boundless joy and excruciating disappointment as they established themselves as free persons. Freed people frequently encountered violent resistance to their efforts to become paid workers and active citizens. Many white southerners refused to accept former slaves as free persons. Thus, location becomes important because it remarks the contrast between the characters public and private selves along with the social classes where they belong. The existences of fractures are supported by EC profiling and flow characteristics. 1.1.2THEIS RECOVERY (1935) The transmissivity of the eight boreholes was estimated by plotting the best fitted line on the Theis plot. This was done using the FC program for Aquifer Test Analysis (2014 version) which produced the plots in figure 19. The transmissivity is tabulated in table. By comparing the transmissivity estimated by Theis method to the transmissivity estimated by Cooper Jacob method, the transmissivity corresponds moderately. • 32. The Song American Pie Is A Representation Of Loss During... The song American Pie is a representation of loss during the transition into the 1970s. It was written in 1971 by Don McLean and filled with his views on the state of society, political changes, and cultural changes. The cultural changes and the loss of everything society knew produced the lost generation that McLean was apart of. He demonstrated his disapproval of the direction of the country by using music, faith, and war as examples of the changes and loss his generation faced. Music heavily influences and creates a voice for the people of the time period it is written in and also reflects the tone of the time period. Mclean s generation was impacted greatly by classic rock and roll artists, such as Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Music direction and message portrayed the prosperous nature of the 1950s and what life was like before the 1970s. The change in music direction rooted from a tragedy that Mclean recognized with the verse, But February made me shiver . In February 3, 1959 Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valensand J.P. Richardson died in a plane crash. Theses musicians were Mclean s heroes and rock and roll legends. McLean considered this to be the day the music died . After their deaths, music drastically changed. New musicians and styles of music came into play. Buddy Holly and the other musicians before the Vietnam war sang uplifting songs or songs with religious references. The verse A long long time ago, is referring to the time period of rock and roll and a

  • 34. Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation ( Osic ) Is... Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted with minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system performance. The optimum detection technique increases the system complexity with improved error rate performance. Therefore, MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives reduced error rate compared to traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The system performance is analyzed in a composite fadingenvironment which deals with multipath and shadowing, known as Weibull gamma (WG) fading environment. Along with the composite fading, a composite noise i.e. additive white generalized Gaussian noise (AWGGN) model is taken into account to form various noise scenarios such as impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and uniform noise. Consequently, generalized Q function is used to develop such noise scenario. The average symbol error probability (ASEP) of MIMOsystem is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude modulation(16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC detection in WG fading with AWGGN. Analytical expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H function (FHF). These expressions demonstrate the best fit to simulation results. To understand these laws and find them applicable in certain life issues is something I feel that every citizen should have a grasp of. With this research paper I will focus on the issue of copyrights, lawsuits, trademarks and how it affects designers and artist. I myself am a clothing designer and have my own brand 5ivepillars. Numerous times during my years as an artist and designer I have seen companies both big and small rip off my work. Most of the time these companies and the individuals behind them steal a concept or ideayou may have and replicate it using different colors. • 41. Disadvantages Of Recycling Gift wrapping materials, such as gift wrap, are often non recyclable (Earth911qtd. in Gift). This is because wrapping paper is often dyed and laminated, and can contain additives, such as gold and silver coloring, glitter and plastics, and usually has nonrecyclable tape on it (Earth911 qtd. in Gift). Including too much non recyclable material in the recyclingbin can keep an entire load of material from being recycled, so it is important to only place accepted items in the recycling bin (Malone). Trying to recycle non recyclable items can cause more harm to the environment than simply sending the non recyclable items to the landfill to begin with. If looking to buy recyclable wrapping paper, it is better to stick with the simple stuff, like basic craft paper without a shiny coating (Miller). But really, it s better to reuse giftwrap or to avoid it entirely (Malone). This is because making wrapping paper recyclable is not the most effective solution. Yes, recycling is often preferable to sending materials straight to the landfill, but recycling has its own demons. A big concern regarding recycling is the possibility of encouraging over consumption. As award winning environmental journalist Amy Westervelt explains in her essay, Can Recycling Be Bad for the Environment , people will ease the guilty they feel for massively over consuming disposable goods by tossing the used items into their recycling bins (213). But not everything that s recyclable gets recycled recycling is

Effects Of Parental Investment On Children Parental investment includes any investment by the parent in an individual offspring that increases the offspring s chances of survival, at the cost of the parent s ability to invest in other offspring (Travier, 1972). Since investing on themselves is as important as investing on their children, parents have to choose between caring for a child and acquiring the resources needed to insure their own productive and reproductive successes (Turner McAndrew, 2006). This choice can be influenced by the social, cultural and economic factors at householdlevel, and by socio demographic factors at individual level. These factors may vary from culture to culture and overtime. However, the following variables are the most frequently cited determinants of parental investment on children. i) Gender; the gender of the parent is the most widely reported determinant of parent`s willingness to invest on children. This is mentioned across disciplines, from biology through social anthropology, with similar conclusions but different explanations. There is consensus that the gender identity of the parent through which income is received determines how the resources are invested on child welfare. Studies (Agarwal, 1997; Kabeer, 2000) indicated that income injected into the household through the mother do more justice to the welfare of children compared to resources injected through the father. Similarly, an exogenous increase in mothers income has a larger effect on children`s outcomes than

Automobile Car Body Is Made From Other Grades Of Low Alloy... 1.0INTRODUCTION Automobile car body is made from various grades of low alloy and low carbon steels that are prone to corrosion in the absence of proper surface protection [1,2]. Therefore, car body is traditionally coated with primer, followed by paint for better corrosion resistance. However, due to process complication, design intricacy and other issues, it is often observed that despite of applying several layers of primer and paint on the car body, it suffers from General, Pitting, and Crevice corrosion. When such corrosion occurs within the warranty period, it usually costs the car manufacturer significantly and more importantly, it results in bad customer experience. The success of automobile industries depends on keeping the customer satisfied with quality of product and services. Therefore, it is highly imperative that such problems are identified at an early stage and find effective solutions to mitigate them efficiently. Cold rolled steel sheets remained the most widely used car body material. However, to meet the future energy efficiency requirement of automobiles, automobile industries will have to look for optimum way in designing and usage of steel sheets. The standard TS 4011 summarizes the additional requirement for cold rolled sheets for critical auto body components and outer panels. In general, steel alloy must have high formability and high strength. In addition, car body material must have good joining characteristics. It is a common observation

Post structuralist discourse feminists have dramatically altered views of gender and sex, creating a distinctly new paradigm for the concept of womanhood, and providing a comprehensive demolition job on Western orthodoxies (Sheehan, 2004, p.21). In his way, identity is not only socially and culturally constructed, but it also changes in different contexts, such as class, race or sexual orientation, and established systems, such as Western hegemony, humanism, and the nature of reality, are deconstructed (Woodward, 2002; Stoddart,... Using concepts, such as magical realism, Nights at the Circus questions what can be considered real, and anticipates Butler s ideas on artificiality of gender and sexuality. The protagonist, Fevvers, is the queen of ambiguities, goddess of in between states (p.81), and, as such, her identity is a performance of characters, none of which can be accepted with certainty, and deemed authentic. She is a virgin and a whore, a female object on display, desired by men, and also a marvellous monster and an alien creature (p.161); she is an aerialist, fabulous bird woman (p.15), yet her bodily constitution is butch. Fevvers is, as Kerchy (2004), notes, a simulacra (p.101), offering an infinite variety of female identities, no more a singular being (p.286). Similarly to Bakhtin s (1986) concept of the carnivalesque, Fevvers performance subverts norms, and denies any finality to her identity. This feminine masquerade dismantles all existing norms and rules for gendered social division. Nights at the Circus brings forth marginalised characters, women and freaks, and positions them into a state of becoming, where there is no original, only layers of identities (Botescu Sireteanu, 2010; Michael,

How do you think the principle of uniformitarianism accounts for occasional catastrophic events such as meteorite impacts, huge volcanic eruptions, or great earthquakes? The principle of uniformitarianism states the processes occurring on Earth today are very similar in manner as those throughout much of geologic times. In other words the present is the key to the past. (Murck, B. W., Skinner, B. J., amp; Mackenzie, D. (2010)). When looking at past geological events and occurrences that happened in the past with additions of new testing and technology they can predict when and if volcanic eruptions may occur, ... I live and attend college in the Valley of the Sun. Many of the rock formations here are extremely old dating back nearly 2 billion years during a time period geologists called the Precambrian Period (GeoHistory). Information to answer this question can be found in news articles, biology journals, historical websites, and government and educational readings as well. 4. Choose one of the geologic periods or epochs listed in Figure 3.8 and find out all you can about it: How are rocks from that period identified? What are its most characteristic fossils? Where are the best samples of rocks from your chosen period found? Rocks formed during the cretaceous period are identifiable in more ways than one would think. The cretaceous period occurred at the end of the Mesozoic Era. Rocks such as limestone, basaltic, clays, salts, gypsum, sandstone, conglomerates, and shale s were found during this time period (Cretaceous Period). Sedimentary rocks hold many fossils of the predominant organisms to inhabit the planet Earth dinosaurs. Many of the rocks can be identified by the variation in their lithological character and thickness of their sequences, or by the fossils that are discovered in them. Some of the best samples of rocks from this time period can be found right here in Arizona at the
