Examples Of An Analytical Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Examples of an Analytical Essay" can be both challenging and
rewarding. The difficulty lies in the need for a thorough understanding of analytical writing
techniques and the ability to showcase them effectively. Analytical essays require a keen sense of
critical thinking, as one must analyze, interpret, and evaluate information before presenting a
cohesive and well-supported argument.
To begin with, selecting appropriate examples for illustration can be demanding. It involves
finding instances that not only support the thesis but also demonstrate the application of
analytical skills. The process requires a careful examination of various sources, ensuring that the
chosen examples are relevant, significant, and contribute to the overall coherence of the essay.
Crafting a strong thesis statement is another hurdle. The thesis must encapsulate the main
argument and guide the reader through the analytical exploration. Formulating a clear and
compelling thesis statement demands precision in language and a deep comprehension of the
subject matter.
The analytical process itself can be intricate. It involves breaking down the chosen examples into
their constituent parts, examining the relationships between them, and drawing meaningful
conclusions. This analytical journey necessitates a logical structure to ensure clarity for the
reader. Transitioning smoothly between examples and maintaining a cohesive flow throughout
the essay adds an additional layer of complexity.
Moreover, expressing thoughts in a concise and articulate manner is crucial. The challenge lies in
balancing depth and clarity, avoiding convoluted language while conveying complex ideas.
Achieving this balance requires careful consideration of each word and sentence to ensure
precision and coherence.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "Examples of an Analytical Essay" demands a
combination of critical thinking, research skills, and effective communication. The difficulty lies
in the intricate process of selecting, analyzing, and presenting examples to support a compelling
thesis. However, overcoming these challenges can lead to a rewarding and intellectually
satisfying essay that showcases analytical prowess.

“Up and Down, Up and Down – That Is How
Temperature and...
Up and down, up and down that is how temperature and climate have always gone in
the past and there is no proof they are not still doing exactly the same now. In other
words, climate change is an entirely natural phenomenon, nothing to do with the
burning of fossil fuels (David Bellamy). To what extent do you agree with this
statement?
The idea of climate change, for many, is an opinionated subject with much discussion
of whether it is a real issue or just a natural phenomenon. However in recent years it
is clear to see that trends in the Earth s climate and surface temperature has spiked to
levels never seen before. Despite all the evidence of the high levels of greenhouses
gases and the rise in temperature, many still believe that ... Show more content on

Nevertheless several lines of evidence show that current global warming cannot be
explained by changes in energy from the sun, as if the warming were caused by a
more active sun, then scientists would expect to see warmer temperatures in all
layers of the atmosphere. Instead, they have observed a cooling in the upper
atmosphere, and a warming at the surface and in the lower parts of the atmosphere.
That s because greenhouse gasses are trapping heat in the lower atmosphere.
Therefore it is highly unlikely that the change in solar output has caused the
climate change experienced on Earth. Volcanic activity has also been associated
with climate change as volcanic eruptions release gases and particulates into the
atmosphere. Eruptions large enough to affect climate occur on average several
times per century, and cause cooling, by partially blocking the transmission of
solar radiation to the Earth s surface, for a period of a few years. The volcanic
eruption in Iceland, Eyjafjallajökull, in 2010 is thought to have released enough
ash and gas to cause a change in the Earth s climate. In spite of this, the data shows
that the change in the climate caused by volcanic activity is only short term, and
therefore cannot be to blame for the trends that we are experiencing on Earth over the
last century.
Regardless of how climate change has been caused, there is clear evidence that it is a
real issue. Earth orbiting satellites and other technological advances have enabled
Why Blackfoot Should Have A Recreation Center Essay
Why Blackfoot Should have a Recreation Center I have lived in Blackfoot for my
entire life. Ever since I was exceedingly young, my family always drove out of
town to Pocatello or Idaho Falls to go do activities. But as I got older we did not
have much time and I cannot drive anywhere. This relates to many kids and
teenagers in Blackfoot. If Blackfoot had a recreation center, there would be more
entertainment for all ages and possibly more attention would come to little, old
Blackfoot. A recreation center is a public location where the community assembles
together for family fun activities for all ages. Most communities rely on the
transportations of cars, buses, subways, taxis, and many more. Having a recreation
center will reduce the cost of transportations. Transportation cost would decrease
because of the price for gas, retail costs, and perhaps insurance. There are many types
of recreation centers, it does not necessarily have to be a building, but simply many
parks around town that are easy, safe, and reliable to... Show more content on

It could include a brand new swimming pool with new attractions like a kitty pool,
a deep pool, an adult hot tub, a childrens hot tub, a few slides, diving boards, and
even a rock climbing walls in the water. There could be a basketball court,
trampoline park, American Ninja Warrior course, rock climbing walls, bounce
houses for younger kids, and many more enjoyable forms of entertainment. A way
that this could go into action is by abolishing the old swimming pool and building
the facility where the swimming pool was. I believe that it would be appropriate in
that certain location because the high school could offer some fun and enjoyable
electives and could possibly have physical education there. It is also near the Drink
Factory so that could bring a lot of realization because the Drink Factory gets a lot of
The Ancient Egyptian Civilization
The ancient Egyptian civilization is one of the oldest civilizations in the world.
Over a period of three thousand years many kingdoms and dynasties came into
power and many died away into oblivion. One thing that kept Egyptian s works and
memories alive were the scriptures they wrote. Today, from these scriptures written
on the wall (or on papyrus) have helped Egyptologists to uncover the secrets and the
lives of the ancient Egyptians. A major understanding we have from these scriptures
and other uncovered paintings is ancient Egyptian s perception of religion and
science. For them religion was not different from science. They used religion to
explain the various worldly and cosmological phenomena. All their cosmogonies
came from explanations based on religion and Gods. Gods were used to explain the
origins of Earth, creation and maintenance of cosmos, concept of time and the various
earthly and universal phenomena like origin of mankind, sunrise, sunset, migrations
of birds, the stars, and constellations. In this essay I will be using various examples
from ancient Egyptian scriptures, paintings, and texts to illustrate the Egyptians
perception of the cosmos. There is no one coherent source from where we can learn
Egyptians concept of the universe. The Egyptians explanations about the universe
changed from city to city. The three major cities were Heliopolis, Memphis, and
Hermopolis. During the fifth dynasty Heliopolis was pronounced as the capital of the

History Of Bimbo Bakeries US
Bimbo Bakeries USA, headquartered in Horsham, Pennsylvania is the United
States affiliate of Grupo Industrial Bimbo, founded in Mexico City, Mexico.
Though Grupo Bimbo is now a multinational corporation, it began as a single
family owned bakery in Mexico City called El Molino . Lorenzo Servitje Sendra
worked with his father in the family bakery throughout his childhood, but when his
father died in 1936 he had to take over. Lorenzo was educated and ambitious, and
together with three of his family members devised a plan to increase the scope of
their business. They bought five delivery vans to deliver their breads, wrapped in
plastic to preserve freshness, to various small stores daily. Customers loved their
product and within a few years they had increased production and were expanding
outside of MexicoCity.
By 1955 they had a fleet of 100 delivery trucks. They were growing fast and
organized their operations as Grupo Industrial Bimbo in 1965. They were exporting
their breads, crackers, cookies and other baked goods to South America, Portugal, and
Spain. But the principals at Grupo Bimbo saw the untapped potential of the huge
consumer market in their neighbors to the north, the United States (Thain, 2015).
A corporate growth trajectory into the U.S. was carefully planned, and with the
passage of the North American Free Trade Act in 1994 Bimbo was ready to act. How

Prejudice and Racism in Conrad’s Heart of Darkness
Essay
Racism in Conrad s Heart of Darkness
Imagine floating up the dark waters of the Congo River in the Heart of Africa. The
calmness of the water and the dense fog make the hairs stand up on the back of
your neck as you wonder if the steamboats crew will eat you as you sleep. These
things occur in Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness. Although the book is undeniably
racist, was the author, Joseph Conrad, racist? Conrad was racist because he uses
racial slurs, the slavery and unfair treatment of the native Africans in his book.
The use of racist language is very prevalent in Heart of Darkness. Conrad, through
Marlow, the main character, uses the word nigger when talking about native Africans
on many occasions. The fool nigger had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A normal person today would feed and pay those who work for them. It is
considered morally sound to do this. In Heart of Darkness, no one thinks it is
wrong to not feed or pay those who work for you. It would be considered wrong to
help feed the workers who are starving. Conrad raises no point in his book that this
act is unacceptable. Conrad then believes it is okay. In Heart of Darkness,it is
considered reasonable to make the natives at fault for things management has done.
The manager sets Marlow s trade goods on fire and blames a native for the blaze.
This act dehumanized the native much like a slave.
Black figures strolled about listlessly, pouring water on the glow, whence proceeded a
sound of hissing; steam ascended in the moonlight; the beaten nigger groaned
somewhere.
(Conrad 28)
If the native people in Heart of Darkness were paid for their work it would be so
minute that the natives would hardly be able to buy enough food to bring themselves
out of starvation.
Besides that, they had given them every week three pieces of brass wire each about
nine inches long, and the theory was they were to buy their provisions with that
currency in river side villages.
(Conrad 42)
The natives who received the wire never had a chance to use it because the boat
never stopped at any villages. Conrad s relaxed writing style makes it sound
humorous that the natives were treated unfairly and that is very racist.
The unfair treatment of the
The Strengths Of Social-Psychological Theory In Hispanic...
Social Psychological Theory The feeling of belonging to or pertaining to an
organization where common goals are expressed and pursued through the joint efforts
of the members of that community defines social psychological theory. In other
words, community members convey similar thoughts and emotions regarding the
betterment of their community through the devotion of fulfilling a goal. Additionally,
this communal effort stirs a sense of togetherness, fitting in, of making new friends,
and of belonging to an organization that is providing a functioning environment.
Ultimately, social psychological theoryemphasizes on how members of a community
feel about their relationship with other community members. Social psychological
theory involves different community roles in different cultures. For example, in a
Hispanic culturethe father of a family is seen as the man of the house or head of
household. Therefore, he has the ultimate say in what takes place within his home or
how things are done. So, the father makes the imperative decisions that deal strictly
with his family such as who is allowed to enter his home and at what time they are
given permission to do so. Additionally, the Hispanic culture is structured as such and
will continue with tradition until a break in the ritual changes. A strength pertaining
to social psychological theory is the feeling of sharing an important identity to
everyday life. Yet, a weakness is how a certain culture behaves and may be
Don T Be Like Those Who Ask For Everything By Alice
Walker
How many of us are truly kind to others? How many of us are kind only because of
the material wealth that person possess? Is it kindness or selfishness? Alice Walker
in the poem Don t Be like Those Who Ask for Everything beautifully depicts the
idea of how people come close to one another only if they are rich in wealth. She
also says in the poem that those people or her friends who ask for everything will not
be ready to offer anything in return. She indirectly mentions that the material wealth
that the poet had did not come from snatching, stealing or magic but through her hard
work. Instead of supporting her at that time, her friends take advantage of her
material wealth. Indeed, she likes to have those friends who would recognise her...

Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa are quite a few of them who
were able change the idea of kindness and the need for moral values. Most of the
times, people would support being selfish for various reasons. The Virtueof
Selfishness A New Concept of Egoism is a collection of essays and poems by Ayn
Rand and Nathaniel Branden. Rand s characterization of selfishness as a virtue,
including in the title of the book, is one of its most controversial elements . Rand
explains that selfishness cannot be always seen through the eyes of negativity. The
precise meaning of the term selfishness could be concern with one s own interests
and that it need not be bad. Alice Walker explains in her poem of the selfish deeds
of these people who ask for everything and never provide anything in return. As we
can see, both the authors are having a contrasting opinion on why selfishness is good
and as to moral values have to be followed. It is interesting to relate the fact that both
the sides of the different coin reflect the same answer. When one remarks selfishness
as a concept of consideration to one s own interest the other would mention that they
ask for everything and anything by offering
Analysis Of Into The Wild, By Jon Krakauer
Krakauer
Jon Krakauer blatantly argues that Chris McCandless wasn t stupid, tragic or
inconsiderate in his decisions. Due to the scrutinization and criticism surrounding
Chris McCandless, Krakauer uses different examples of individuals who explored,
the wild, and did not survive, as well as his own personal experience, to defend
McCandless and his actions. In chapter nine, Krakauer underlines his authority and
sets himself up to refute McCandless s detractors. He then establishes familiarity with
seperate American men who ventured into the wilderness and did not make it out.

Teen s perception of risk is different from adult perception. Younger people engage
in more unknown risks because their brain can tolerate more ambiguity (Szalavitz,
1). This might explain why McCandless and so many other young people are
drawn to adventure on their own into an unknown place. Teen s information
processing relies on the rational part of the brain. This may be an explanation to
why Chris may have been drawn to risk at a young age. He could have been drawn
to the outdoors, and the urge to be there just stuck with him into his early
adulthood. The explanation may lie in something as complex as the wiring of the
brain or something as simple as the explanation that Chris had family issues that
drove him to want to live in the wild, and away from interaction, or him just
wanting to find himself, and he couldn t do it anywhere else. Regardless of the
reason, Krakauer argues that Chris wasn t to be blamed for his misfortunes, but
instead to be admired for his courage and sense of

This perseverance could be related to Allende s perseverance in life such as
becoming a journalist and author. Throughout the three Fortunato generations,
there was the desired result of a successful circus. The first Fortunato persevered
through times of catastrophe and turmoil (105) and for years Horacio s
grandfather bore the sole responsibility for the spectacle (105). His desire to save
and maintain his circus came to the point where he had to perform almost all of the
acts. However, he managed somehow to survive bad times while many other
circuses succumbed and were thus obliterated(106). The first Fortunato s desire to
keep his circus buoyant left him to persevere through all the hard time and come
out stronger. The first Fortunato s son, Fortunato II, was left a debt free
enterprise. He too persevered with an unshakable prudence and under his direction
the circus grew in size and prestige until it was the largest in the nation. (105) He
made it so that the enormous caravan no longer drifted aimlessly, as it had in his
father s day, but steamed purposefully (106). The second Fortunato was able to
make the circus a greater success. His father before him allowed him to do so
through his perseverance and thus created a new, higher goal for his son to reach.
Horacio, the third Fortunato, intended to be rich from the time he was a young boy
(108). His goal was predetermined and he eventually lived a good life.

The Really Big One By Kathryn Schulz
The Really Big One is an article by Kathryn Schulz about the Cascadia Subduction
Zone, a fault line that runs seven hundred miles along the West Coast. It consists of
two tectonic plates where one plate is sliding underneath another. In this case, the
oceanic plate Juan de Fuca is sliding under the continental plate known as the North
American plate. In her article, Schulz repeats the words of seismologists and
scientists alike in the opinion that the Cascadia Subduction Zone is overdue for a
magnitude 9.0 or higher earthquakeand resulting tsunami. No one in the Pacific
Northwest is prepared for it. With historical stories and examples from around the
world Schulz warns of the damage to be done when the Really Big One finally
makes itself known.
In her article, Schulz uses three rhetorical appeals. These appeals are called Ethos,
Pathos, and Logos. Aristotle, the Greek philosopher, created these terms to refer
specifically to the different ways they appeal to the reader. Ethos is used to
establish credibility, Pathos refers to emotion, and Logos is the appeal to
logic. While the article is packed full of history, science and facts, it s the appeal to
emotion that really draws in the readers and instills curiosity and a desire for action.
Schulz s article is split into five sections. The first section introduces the readers to
Chris Goldfinger, a paleoseismologist at Oregon State University. Goldfinger was at a
seismology conference in Kashiwa, Japan when the 2011 Tohoku
Black September Organization Research Paper
When discussing the notoriety Black September one needs to first identify what is
Black September. Black September Organization (BSO), also called Arabic AylЕ«l al
Aswad, was a militant faction that broke away from the Palestinian organization
Fatah. The name BSO also comes from September of 1970 when the King of Jordan
King Hussein who declared military rule, brutally killing thousands of Palestinian
Fedayeen.
The members of the BLO threatened King Hussein s rule, by revenging the deaths of
Palestinians that were killed. The death of the last charismatic leader of the

A West German counter terrorismteam, attempted prevent the BLO from hostages
from being taken out of the country and engaged them in lethal force. Following the
shooting that occurred all eleven of the Israeli Olympic team were killed. Five
members of the BSO and one German police officer were also killed. In response
Israel declared war on the BLO for their actions at the Munich Olympics in Germany.
Israel s retaliatory acts killed hundreds of people at Palestinian refugee camps in
Lebanon and Syria most of whom had no affiliation with the BLO. The attacks built
great tension between Israel and the neighboring countries, which lead to further
military conflict. The BLO dissolved from the PLO in the fall of 1973 and acts of
violence were no longer condoned outside Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
In conclusion the notoriety of Black September Organization a militant faction that
broke away from the Palestinian organization Fatah comes from its struggles for
freedom within the Middle East. Black September was best known for the attack at
the Munich Olympics where it took members of Israeli Olympic Team hostage and
demanded the release of Palestinian prisoners being held in West German and
Australian Football Field Decision-Making Analysis
CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION
1.1Introduction
Australian Football is a unique invasion game comprised of two teams of 22
players per side (36 afield), utilizing many skills (*****back and afl). The
combination and display of long kicking, high marking, tackling and nonstop action
make it Australia s number one spectator sport (**** ref) and separate it from other
football sporting codes. The overall aim of the game is to kick a ball between goal
posts positioned at the opposition team s end of the field to score a goal worth 6
points and the ball can be moved in any direction by hand (handball) and by foot
(kick).

1.3.3 Kick Side
The execution of a kick on a players preferred or non preferred foot is likely to alter
the kick technique and pattern (ball 2011 ref*************). A kick performed on
the non preferred foot is typically less coordinated than that of a preferred foot kick
(ball 2011), and is likely to travel a shorter distance and miss the target.
1.3.4 Kick Source
Kick Source is the method in which a player comes in possession of the ball before
performing a kick. These include, but are not limited to marking the ball, receiving
the ball via a handball from either a team in general play or after a mark and a ground
ball. Kick source is likely to have an impact on accuracy of the resulting kick as it can
often be an indication of the scenario and the pressure being applied. For example a
player executing a kick as a result of a stoppage is likely to be under pressure due to
congestion of opposition players in the immediate area.

Conveyor belt is quite often used to produce step by step in order to achieve
production efficiency. Secondly, cycle time is the actual time between completions
of successive units for a line process on a production line. For example, LWT

1. Customization Make to Stock
Make to stock is one of the manufacturing processes which are used as holding
inventory at the end of the supply chain. In make to stock system, companies are
necessarily able to evaluate demand to decide how much products they should
produce and stock (Rabbani, 2011). As a consequence, make to stock has to be
relied on forecasting. Make to stock (MTS) products involve no any customization.
Generic products are produced in large amount of volumes to justify keeping a
finished goods inventory. Consumers have to buy these products off the shelf from
retail stores. In our scenario, LWT produces batches of 500 50 1000 of shutters as
inventory. Therefore, make to stock which is the least level of customization was
offering by LWT. As knowing LWT is using make to stock system, it has obviously
objective for their products,
Genetic And Non Genetic Mechanisms Of Inheritance Essay
Regina Noel
10/19/2016
Epigenetics: Genetic and Non Genetic Mechanisms of Inheritance When discussing
the topic of genetics, it is typically viewed from the perspective of Mendelian
inheritance in which genes are transmitted from parent to offspring solely through the
use of genetic alleles, which are the alternative form of genes that have varying DNA
sequences and chromosomes that affect the phenotype, visual gene trait (Toth. 2015).
If and how a genetic trait is expressed is whether the alleles for that trait are
dominant or recessive. Dominant alleles are genes that have a higher probability of
being expressed in the offspring than a recessive allele. In the case of dominate
alleles; there are two possible combinations that its gene can still be expressed with,
homozygous (which contains two dominant alleles) and heterozygous (which
contains a dominant and recessive allele). On the other hand, recessive alleles can
only be expressive if it is homozygous (which contains two recessive alleles) (Reece
et al. 2013). Since Gregor Mendel s discovery of alleles and genetic inheritance, there
has been research shows that there are more mechanisms of inheriting traits which do
not include changing the nucleotide sequence of DNA. This form of non genetic
inheritance is called epigenetic modification. One example of epigenetic modification
is DNA methylation. DNA methylation is when methyl groups, which are chemical
groups that contain one carbon bound to three hydrogen atoms,

Starion s choice to focus on the core buyer requirements magnifies their intimate
knowledge of the space and contributed greatly to the company s overall success. The
decision was made to concentrate on an open surgery strategy. Early adoption,
particularly for a small fish in a big pond, is critical to any start up. This direction,
spearheaded by management, was a deft decision for several reasons. The
customer base in this field consists of an end user with a complex hierarchy and
buyer process. However, it is ultimately the end user s decision which makes or
breaks a product in this field. Therefore, the decision to launch the product for use in
open surgeries as opposed to laparoscopic procedures vastly increased the
attractiveness to the early adopter base. The open surgery tool strategy enabled
doctors to rely on backwards compatibility (the ability to simply fall back on the tried
and true cut and suture method), another key point with experimental tools and
methods.
Prior to Starion s laser tissue welding breakthrough, the most common electrosurgical
tool was the monopolar device, also known as the Bovie device. With

In a similar case in Lakewood, Ohio, the Saleets were about to have their home,
along with their neighbors homes, taken to build new higher end condominiums.
The mayor of the city had pressed for the new development as a way to strengthen
the tax base. In the end, the Lakewood residents were able to reject the proposed
development, remove the blight label from their neighborhood and also voted the
mayor out (Leung, 2009). Yes, the new resort would create jobs to manage the
resort, and increase the city s income and taxes, however, the area does not qualify
as one that requires this sort of enhancement. As stated in the Institute For Justice
(2013) website The justification the City had offered for the takings was that a new
development would create more jobs and taxes, but keep this in mind: anyone s
home or small business would generate more taxes as a shopping mall. If that can
justify such takings, then literally no home or business would be safe from this kind
of abuse at the hands of government (para.3). Should Barney be unable to win the
opportunity to keep his home, fighting at least gives the chance to help get the best
available amount for what qualifies as full market value.
Issue #3 Auto theft gone wrong

Neurotic Imposture
The Dangers of Feeling Like a Fake by Manfred F. R. Kets de Vries showed how
faking it til you make it can lead to damaging a person and their career, especially
if they re a victim to neurotic imposture. A person who has neurotic imposture feels
as though they don t deserve success and that they are basically fakes or impostors.
This article begins with a story about a man by the name of Tobin Holmes who
feared he couldn t take on his job s responsibilities because he wasn t good enough.
Tobin felt he was an imposter and would be exposed for who he truly was.
Neurotic imposture can take toll over successful people and turn their life for the
worse; a success into a failure. Vries explained, to some extent, of course, we are all
impostors . As humans we take on the roles that try to show a different side to others
publicly and then a private, different life. Neurotic impostors suffer more by feeling
alone than others and they are located at all levels of an organization.... Show more

For neurotic impostors, positive achievements and efforts must be shown at early
stages in order to prevent the sense of always being a failure and never being able to
get the job done. It s not necessarily the point of getting the job done it s the thought
of how to get it done or actually being the right person to do it. Neurotic imposture is
more than bluffing but it s a serious case that can alter an individual s life because
they are constantly feeling unequal to the next person. Everyone has had a time
where they felt they weren t able to complete a task, but by having neurotic
imposture a person will always feel they can t compete with the next person even if
the person is already highly qualified for their position. In this case, faking it til you
make it will have a person regretting their life choices, abilities, and will create a
disastrous life when having a

A Hypothesis Without Conducting Background Research
It is well established that people became ill shortly after the picnic. The root cause
of the problem is unknown, and there are a lot of variables. By systematically
using the scientific method this will enable Earl to find an objective, and reliable
conclusion to his dilemma. Making a hypothesis without conducting background
research would be futile. I would suggest him looking at his data more closely.
Observation is a critical process and maybe he should become more observant. He
has begun to ask questions, but only by asking the correct questions to the
appropriate sources will he be able to find the route cause. Earl also has state it was
at the school picnic, it would be nice to know if it was preschool, since younger
children are more susceptible to food poisoning. Earl continues to observe by
naming the different foods that were consumed and that everybody ate something.
He states that within 24 hour that several people displayed symptoms of food
poisoning. There were 30 people who became ill. Later, his hypotheses are either
the potato salad or that the under cook hamburger has contributed to food poison at
the picnic. At this time he has not run any experiments to ensure what made the
people sick and even if he did I can t imagine him able to conducting the appropriate
test. He will have to collect credible and reliable information in the next process.
Doing research will enable him to analyze what food source caused the food
poisoning. Lastly. Earl will have to
Narrative Essay On Irish Dance
Day 6: I was served a traditional Irish breakfast this morning, and aside from the
puddings (which weren t too bad), it was similar to a traditional breakfast I get at
home. After breakfast, we boarded the bus and headed for Glenveagh Castle. The
castle itself was beautiful, from the elaborate interiors, to the stunning gardens and
trails, and the gorgeous scenery. The castle even has a curse attached to it, showing
how Irish culture is fond of myths and superstitions. After we left the castle, we went
back to the community center for lessons in Irish culture and dance. Although it is
not the most common spoken language in Ireland, Gaelic, is the national language of
Ireland. Having their own national language would promote nationalism within
the country, giving the people something of their own that wasn t established when
Brittan took over. I was as good at learning Gaelic as I was with Spanish, terrible,
after the session all I could remember was how to ask for a pint and how to ask for
food. Out of the two sessions, I was far better at the Irish dancing. The session
itself was one of the most fun things I did in Ireland, learning the various dances
and the meaning behind them. Irish dancing, like Gaelic, is very important to the
Irish people, even our language instructor know some of the Irish dances. That was
not the only place that I saw Irish dancing, it was common at pubs when bands were
playing and even people in the crowds joined in. The Irish dancing itself is

Bradford Assay Lab Report
Abstract For this lab we will use Bradford assay and spectrophotometers in order to
determine the concentration of protein in commercially produced food products. The
experiment concluded the three given milk samples, breakfast milk has the most
amount of protein. After calculating and recording data, we founded that whole milk
had the least amount of protein, and breakfast milk ended up having the most protein.
Leaving Muscle Milk with less protein than the breakfast milk and more protein than
the whole milk. This research will help people in wisely choosing their intake of
commercially produced food.

First we began setting the spectrophotometer to 595 nm. We than label each cuvette
with numbers corresponding to the concentrations. To each cuvette we added 1 ml
of coomassie blue dye and on the blank cuvette we added 20 ul of PBS (Phosphate
Buffered Saline). We then added 20 ul of each standard to the respective cuvettes
using a new clean tip for each use. Each cuvette was covered with parafilm and
inverted to mix allowing it to sit for a total of 5 minutes. We first inserted the blank
cuvette into the spectrophotometer and pressed blank once right after we put in each
of the cuvettes with the protein concentrations. In between each cuvette we put in a
blank before the next step. After the absorbance were recorded, we created the
standard curve. We then graphed the standard curve, with solutions and their protein
concentrations. We then labeled each cuvette along with a blank. We repeated the
process from finding the standard curve with the known solution. We then used the
equation from the standard curve in order to find the concentrations of proteins and
compared. The concentration is the independent variable which is plotted on the x
axis and the absorbance is the dependent variable which is plotted on the y axis.

Us Involvement In North Korea
Background:
The Democratic People s Republic of Korea, also known as North Korea, is the
northern half of Korea, after its separation. After Japan s defeat in World War II,
Korea was liberated from the Japanese military regulation. Communism became
strongly established in the North, due to Soviet Union s influence after the liberation
from Japan. This resulted in the emergence of Kim Il Sung, who, in 1948, ended up
becoming the first premier of the Democratic People s Republic of Korea.
Meanwhile, the United Nations General Assembly decided to allow the constitution
of the Republic of Korea. In 1950, tensions between these two hostile governments
soon erupted into a war. This war resulted in 2.5 million casualties, and ended in July

North Korea, under the leadership of the dictator, Kim Jong Un, is considered as a
country that greatly lacks human rights. Basic freedoms have been limited under the
Kim family. According to Human Rights Watch, 2014 UN Commission of Inquiry
discovered that the abuses in North Korea were much beyond those of other countries
in the current world. Abuses include rape, extermination, enslavement, murder,
torture, imprisonment, forced abortions, and other types of sexual violence.
Additionally, several secretive prison camps are being implemented in the
Democratic People s Republic of Korea. Those who oppose the government are
usually sent to confront starvation, forced labor, torture, and abuse. Due to severe
punishment, independent media, religious freedom, and civil society do not exist.
North Korea also greatly focuses on ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons, despite its
humanitarian issues. With North Korea committing these immoral actions, the
United States strongly considers that an act must committed. Currently, China is
considered as North Korea s most important ally. China is the main source of trade,
food, arms, and energy. By attempting to convince China to distant themselves from
North Korea, a big change is possible. Without China s support, North Korea would
be greatly weakened, in terms of military and economy. If China stops helping North

The Importance Of School Dress Codes
Do school dress codes come off as too strict? Some schools have a twenty one page
rulebook on prom alone. Crazy, right? Who decides what belongs in a dress code
and what does not? Should the students have a say on their school s dress code?
Student do not have a say in their school s dress, so high school dress codes feel too
restricting to the students. A school dress codeconsists of many aspects. The
Crestwood High SchoolStudent Handbook forbids students from wearing anything
too revealing (2017, pg. 22). An outfit must not distract anyone from their learning,
but school officials say if an outfit will distract another, it should not appear in
school. Students should decide what goes in a dress code, because they know what

Tattoos show self expression even if they offend someone. Everyone wears
undergarments, and, to some, head coverings hold religious values. Students have
a wide variety of reactions to the appointed dress codes. Both boys and girls react
to how the dress codes restrict students choices of clothing. A senior boy from Palo
Alto, CA, believes the dress code restricts the students at his school. Jackson Brook
concludes, The idea that a visible bra strap or a pair of leggings will prevent a teen
boy from learning is absurd to me. And I should know, I m a teen boy! (Menza,
2015). This boy believes that clothes distracting guys from learning makes a joke
out of teenage boys maturity, as his learning does not change if a female s bra
strap shows. He also goes on to tell how he feels about calling a females clothing
distracting. He believes dress codes have a way of blaming girls for causing any
distractions because of what they wear (Menza, 2015). Girls do not distract the
other students the clothing does, but according to most people the girls distract,
because they choose what to wear. A young lady, named Cameron Boland, wore a
spaghetti strapped sundress to an event at a different school. She wanted to look
fancy for her speech for a National Honor Society event. She won this event and
became a historian but later had it taken away because of her appearance that day.

Speed limit is the maximum speed allowed by law for road vehicles. The highest
speed limit in Malaysia is 110 km/h. There are very few public roads have no speed

Vegetarianism Vs. Vegetarian Diet
The word diet is defined as the kinds of food a person habitually eats. Diets often
vary according to culture, religion, and personal preference. People often use
different diets as a way to manage their weight or improve their overall health, both
vegetarianism and flexitarianism are diets that are commonly adopted in order to
improve health. Vegetarianismis typically practiced as lacto ovo vegetarianism which
means that milk products and eggs may be consumed although meat, fish, and meat
byproducts are not. A flexitarian diet is less easily defined because it consists
mainly of a vegetarian diet and includes only small amounts of meat when necessary.
Both diets are based on either eliminating or reducing meat intake in one s diet.
Vegetarianism/Flexitaritarism diets are effect at reducing the risk of some diseases
and can be used as a way to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. Vegetarianism
was officially named by the British Vegetarian Society in the 1800s ( History ). Some
anthropologists suggest that early humans were primarily gatherers and that their diet
consisted mainly of plant foods, this theory is supported by the fact that the human
body can function properly without consuming meat. No one specifically developed
the vegetarian diet and a flexitarian is basically vegetarianism with the occasional
consumption of meat. Flexitarianism is a good option for those who want to receive
the health benefits of vegetarianism without completely giving up meat.
Economics and the Problem of Utility Maximization
Within the field of economics, the utility maximization problem represents an
attempt to quantify the rationale used when consumers attempt to maximize the
satisfaction, or utility, they derive from the purchase of goods. With the typical
predetermined budgetary restriction imposed on the process, consumers must
balance their own limited funds against their desire to obtain certain items. This
means that the eventual level of utility received from all potential affordable
packages, and thus the consumer s optimal choices, can be expressed via the
equation x(p, w), where p is equal to a good s price and w is equal to the consumer
s wealth. The price of any given product must be considered during any attempt to
answer the utility maximization problem, because if , then u must be continuous and
no goods can be obtained free of charge (McEachern, 2010). In other words, because
the two rules dictating the boundaries of utility maximization within a two good
model clearly state that the marginal utilities per dollar must be equal and the
consumer s entire budget must be exhausted, the inclusion of goods which can be
obtained free of charge skews any conclusions regarding the consumer s eventual
utility. A good which costs nothing will always provide more immediate happiness
than one which costs money, and this fact prohibits economists from effectively
modeling any two good comparisons between free and for cost items. As is typically
the case for economics, however, simple

that we have not touched yet. By focusing on creation of a product, and directing the

Home Rule As A Force Of Unity And Division Of Irish...
Discuss Home Rule as a force of unity and division in Irish political life during the
period 1886 to 1921.
The home rule question played a prominent part in Irish history for over 40 years.
Home Rule, the ideology that a country under a colony would rule itself from home,
caused bitter political and social divisions throughout Ireland. Whilst the division
between nationalists and unionist became rife, Home Rule unified many that were
willing to fight for Ireland s cause.
In Ulster there was a sectarian rivalry between Protestants and Catholics. The secret
ballot act of 1872 and the Reform act of 1884 reduced the political power of
protestant and they felt threatened. From 1885 to 1886, Home Rule became a
greater possibility for Ireland, unionists and Protestants became more restless and
agitated. Divisions emerged in politics and in 1885 the Irish Loyal and Patriotic
Union were set up to fight Home Rule. After the general election of 1885 divisions
were further polarised between unionists and nationalists. The electorate was divided
into the Home Rulers and the unionists. The Orange Order was revived and it unified
Protestants of all classes against Home Rule. Many Protestants became a member of
the Ulster Loyalist and Anti Repeal Union which was established in 1886. The
Conservative Party in Britain established an alliance with unionist. This unification
was set up to protect the interests of the British Empire. The Conservatives believed
that if Home Rule was
Unhealthy Behaviors In The US Health Care System
We all know death is inevitable, as morbid as it sounds, but we also all would like
to prolong death as long we can to live long, happy lives. Unfortunately, some
people fail to fully connect how their daily lifestyle impacts the ability to live these
ideal long and happy lives. As the CDC (2016) states, nearly 70% of the U.S.
population is considered overweight or obese and almost 40 million people still
smoke. These statistics indicate that there are numerous unhealthy behaviors that a
bulk of our population chooses to participate in. This brings us to the question, what
would it take to shift our country into not only helping them to stop, but also them
wanting to stop partaking in these unhealthy behaviors and truly fulfill the desire to
want to live longer? Since the majority of the population relies on the U.S. health
system to help treat them once arguably preventable health issues arise, why not take
the opportunity to use the same system to help combat these unhealthy behaviors
from the start. The U.S. health system could implement more educational
opportunities, specific prevention programs, help reduce health disparities, increase
health literacy, and offer incentives for healthy behaviors.
Prior to determining what specific actions and policies to take within the U.S. health
care system, we must first look into who is taking part in these unhealthy behaviors
and if there are any particular reason why. According to a report from the National
Center for Health
A Career as a Hotel Manager
General Manager Being a Hotel General Manager would be my ideal job in the
Lodging Industry. To get the that point of being a General Manager would take
years of working in the hotel industry as well as having the proper education to
preform the job. My plan of action would be to start out as a check in agent or a front
desk associate at a hotel. This would give me experience in working with guests and
with numbers, knowledge every General Manager needs. Working at the front desk
initially would give me a good idea what each department in the hotel does, and
perhaps I would move on to another job in the hotel just to gain more experience. A
good General Manager needs to know how everything in the hotel functions.
Job Description
A hotel manager is responsible for the day to day management of a hotel and its staff.
They have commercial accountability for budgeting and financial management,
planning, organizing and directing all hotel services, including front of house

Typical Work Day Work activities can vary on the size and accommodations
available at the hotel. In bigger hotels there will be many departments, all with a
department manager. In the mornings most General Managers and department
managers will have a meeting so everyone is on the same page for the day. This can
include as many of the departments as the General Manager sees fit. In small hotels

Nationalism And Its Impact On Society
Throughout history, nationalism has evolved in a massive way. Nationalism is a
concept that was not always around, and began as a simple love of one s country.
This soon progressed into the belief that a country or state is superior to another. In
the source, the perspective given is that of displeasure towards the current approach
governments are taking to promote nationalism. In order to create patriotism in a
country, often times the government will look past previous wrongdoings. We should
embrace the perspectives reflected in the source fully and hold people accountable for
international crimes. However, many organizations are in place that successfully hold
these people accountable time and time again. A crime should always be duly
punished no matter the amount of time separating the past and present. On the
contrary, some people may say that necessary means should be taken to keep a
country united. In addition, a popular ideology is that the past must stay in the past,
and that it s not worth the conviction. My three months in social studies 20 1 have
taught me the significance of justice and therefor I support and defend the principle
of righteous punishment for crimes committed. Without systems and forms of
international or national justice, war crimes and crimes against humanity would
occur more frequently without any measures to prevent or discipline the offenders.
There are currently more than one international organization designed to bring justice

Elizabeth Ammon once argued that women like Wharton, Cather and Stein were
the real giants against whom writers such as Fitzgerald and Hemingway needed to
define themselves. The Age of Innocence was the most sophisticated novel written
by Edith Wharton in the year of 1920, when American women first had the right to
vote. Wharton reviewed the 1870s New York upper class society in the sight of
1920s. Like most of her works, The Age of Innocence tells a story about love and
marriage among three characters: Newland Archer, Ellen Olenska and May
Welland. Young lawyer Newland and beautiful girl May announce their

who was born in New York but later has grown up in Europe and married a wealthy

Struggle And Disillusionment In Shakespeare s Hamlet
As with the majority of Shakespeare s works, the 1601 tragedy of Hamlet still
remains as an acclaimed source of inspiration for complex interpretations and in depth
criticism. Its values lies not within its plot, but rather within the constituents that
gives rise to the textual integrity of the play. Hence, such thematic concerns of
Struggle and Disillusionment are dramatically explored through elements of the
dramatic form to impart an effect on the audience that allows the play to transcend
contextual barriers. Such elements include the characterisation of the eponymous
protagonist, various soliloquies, character foils, and the structure of the play. Edgar
Johnson, expresses in his text The Dilemma of Hamlet (1956) that Hamlet s... Show

Additionally, this would lead to an internal struggle unique to the audience as the
notion of antic disposition becomes blurred as the play progresses. This is further
supported by the presence of the Ghost in Act 3, of which only Hamlet notices.
Gertrude assures Hamlet, This is the very coinage of your brain/This bodiless
creation ecstasy/Is very cunning in. (Act 3 Scene 4). This gives rise to the suggestion
that the Ghost is a manifestation of his newfound madness and hence the authenticity
of Hamlet s apparent madness is a source of conflict within the audience. Johnson,
however, views Hamlet s madness as an innate quality that encompasses the
temptation to wreak justice for the wrong reasons and in evil passion... . He does not
consider the audience s knowledge of Hamlet s antic disposition which allows for the
interpretation that the dilemma is perhaps his progression to madness. Accordingly,
the peculiar dramatic treatment of struggle through the multifarious and inwardness
nature of Hamlet directly engages the audience continuously. The internal struggles
and disillusionment of characters are conveyed to the audience in an intimate
manner through the use of soliloquies. His core dilemma is revealed to the audience
in his first soliloquy in Act 1, Scene 2 where he expresses his disillusionment with
the world and life upon his mother s swift remarriage to his uncle, describing it as

Drinking Age Outline
Specific Purpose:
The legal drinking age in the United States being reduced to eighteen.
Introduction:
How many people here believe that the drinking age should be changed to eighteen
years old in the United states? The drinking age in the United states has been twenty
one since 1984 when all 50 states decided to pass they would pass the National
minimum drinking age act. This bill required all of the states to have a drinking age
of twenty one. If the states did not comply with the federal drinking laws they would
lose ten percent of their national highway funding. This would be dramatic loss of
money for the state funding its road repair programs. This pretty much forced all of
the states to agree that now the drinking age would be raised to twenty one instead of
eighteen.
Thesis Statement:
When teens turn 18 they deserve all the rights that come with being an adult,
lowering the drinking age will not only cause teens to become more responsible it
will also reduce drunk driving accidents as seen in other countries who have already
implemented this law.
Credibility:
When I went on a vacation to Punta Cana after my eighteenth birthday It was legal
for me to drink at that age in this country. This was a great experience but the thing it
taught me most of all is that you need to be responsible while you are drinking.
Preview:
The drinking age being 21 makes teens see this as something they re forbidden from
which only causes them to become more irresponsible when they
The Evolution of Art and Style during the Renaissance
Art, like everything in society, evolves at a certain space. During the Renaissance,
art was always pushing the limits from what was previously seen or created. The
Renaissance was a revival of Classical Antiquity and the artists went above the
standard and created pieces that were intricate and visually pleasing. While the
Baroque period was also a time of revival, it mostly revolved around the Catholic
religion. Artists wanted to portray classic religious scenes in a more expressive way
because during this time, protestantism was on the rise and in order to try and
squash this new religion, the Catholics reinvented some great religious pieces but in
a more emotional way. Through these following pieces, the evolution of art and style
is evident. The first piece comes from the year 1320 ,which is considered the Proto
Renaissance, and it is from Giotto di Bondone. It is call The Adoration of the Magi
and it depicts the scene of Jesus birth and how the three wise men came and paid
their respects for the new king, Jesus. This piece helps you understand the switch
in style of art because it allows the viewer to understand what the basic standard of
excellent art was before the Renaissance. This work is tempera on wood and you
can see that it is Proto Renaissance/ Byzantine because of its one dimensional look
and how each subject in the painting is visible and how they have basic expressions.
In the next painting, standards for paintings slowly started to change from
Muckrakers in the Progressive Era
Muckrakers The term muckraker was originally coined in a speech in 1906
accredited to President Theodore Roosevelt. It was alluding to the man with the
Muck Rake in Bunyan s Pilgrim s Process. The Man with the Muck rake seeks
material advances by raking filth. Roosevelt defined this term as one who inquires
into and publishes scandal and allegations of corruption among political and business
leaders . Muckrakers in the Progressive Era, a time from 1820 until 1920 when
America quickly industrialized, pushed for reform and have altered the way we live
today. These reformers brought about the awareness and tackled women s rights,
economic concentration, corporate power, poverty, food safety, and political
corruption.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In time, she became the group s association s state organizer during the years of 1980
to 1892. Mrs. Catt soon started working in the national organization of National
American Woman Suffrage Association writing article, gaining political experience,
and giving speeches at conferences in places such as Washington D.C.
In 1892, she was asked by Susan B. Anthony to address Congress on the proposed
suffrage amendment. She was passed down to role of the President of the National
American Women Suffrage Association, a successor of Susan B. Anthony in the year
1900. Catt led this organization during the final challenge of the right to vote before
the Nineteenth Amendment, a law allowing women to vote, was ratified in 1920.
Catt worked through both state and federal levels persuading legislators to give
women the right of suffrage as citizens. After women achieved the franchise, Catt
reorganized the National American Women Suffrage Association into the League of
Women Voters. Carrie Chapman Cattformulated a plan to achieve women s suffrage.
In April 1911, Carrie began a world tour through Sweden, Europe, Africa, India,
Sumatra, the Philippines, China, Korea and Japan, and many other countries
founding suffrage organizations and examining women s conditions throughout the
world. Carrie planted new ideas in the minds of citizens in many other nations across
the globe. Carry Chapman Cat should be honored and praised by countless
institutions for
Jasmine Beever Case
Jasmine Beever appeared to be a healthy 16 year old until she was suddenly rushed
to a hospital. The teen was initially resuscitated when she arrived, but she couldn t
hold on when an infection from her hair took over.
The strange part is that the infection didn t happen on her head, according to
LincolnshireLive.
Beever was killed by a hairball that was found in her stomach.
The hairball caused an infection in her stomach, which developed into peritonitis, an
inflammation of the peritoneum, which is the layer of tissue in the abdomen that
covers the organs. The infection caused an ulcer that burst, shutting down her vital
organs.

It has not been confirmed that the teen suffered from this condition.
Donna Marshall, the mother of Beever s best friend, Billie Jo Ashwell, explained
how the heartbreaking death began:
Jasmine collapsed at college, she went home to bed and then later she came out in
blotches, and the rest is sad news.
Marshall said Jasmine had been sucking/chewing her hair for years. She put out a
plea to other parents to be aware of the dangers of sucking on their hair after her
daughter s friend lost her life:
She wrote:
Please Please PLEASEEEEEE!!!! Warn your children of the Dangers of sucking
their hair ~ they can swallow it without knowing. We really don`t want anyone else to
suffer this way.
Marshall described Beever by
The Folly Of The Evil In Herman Melville s Billy Budd
The Folly of the Innocent Nobody is perfect. It is asinine to believe that perfection
can be truly achieved. There will always be a flaw that develops in an individual.
Whether it s small or even fatal, these flaws will always prevail and be
remembered by generations to come. Take Napoleon Bonaparte for example. He
led one of the greatest revolutions in history; however, there was a characteristic of
his personality that sealed his downfall. He had an insatiable hunger for limitless
power. He became greedy and tried to take on more than his army could handle. His
ruling was almost perfect except for his craze for power. Again, nobody can be
perfect even fictional characters created by Herman Melville. Billy Buddin Billy
Budd, Sailor and Selected Tales seemed to have all the characteristics of a perfect
individual. The only problem is that he had a stutter which eventually caused his
death his fatal flaw. He could not express his emotions to Captain Vere so he acted
out by punching Claggart in the face, murdering him in the process. This lack of
ability to communicate caused outburst and death on the ship. While this may have
been wrong from a legal standpoint, I believe that Billy Budd was ethically justified
when it came to the accidental murderof Claggart. People will bring up arguments
as to why Billy Budd was not justified in killing Claggart. For one thing, they will
argue that murder is murder. There is no reason as to why killing someone can be
morally right in
Child Development Reflection
The moment I glanced at my schedule, I immediately knew that something was
wrong. The classes that I had planned for, that I had spent hours interrogating
upperclassmen about, were not all there. My carefully planned out future was swiftly
and harshly brought to an end with the final statement at the bottom of my
supposedly new schedule All schedules are final, and will only be considered if the
student has been placed in a classwith a repeat credit.
Two years ago, my school administrators placed me in a semester class that I did
not sign up for titled Child Development. With over two thousand schedules to
consider, it was not a major surprise that some of them had gotten messed up along
the way. However, I was shocked that something like this would ever have
happened to me. How on earth could the classes that I wanted to take be
overlooked? How dare they do this to me. I immediately requested a schedule
change. When the change was denied I was appalled. I was going to be forced to
take a class that I didn t know much about. It seemed like every force in the world
was against me. There was nothing that I wouldn t have done to get out of that class.
The first day of the second semester seemed to drag by until I was finally in the last
place that I wanted to be, Child Development. I walked into the class with a horrible
attitude and an absolute assurance that I was going to hate every aspect of the class.
And yet, I didn t. As the semester progressed, I was drawn in by
Rat Brain Case Study
1000 Вµg rat brain lysate was incubated with 50 Вµg construct overnight on a
shaking incubator at 4В°C. Samples were loaded on a polyacrylamide gel and

Immunoblotting for sacsin and JIP3 interaction
Primary Sacsin and JIP3 antibodies (Santa Cruz cat. sc 515118 and sc 46663)
raised in mice were added in a 1:3000 and 1:2000 ratio respectively to the
corresponding membrane sections and incubated on a shaking incubator for 1 hour.
Next, excess antibody was removed by washing 3 times with TBST. Secondary goat
anti mouse HRP antibody (Cedarlane Laboratories cat. 115 035 146) was added in a
1:4000 ratio to 20 ml of 5% BSA in TBST. The membranes were washed 3 times

times with 1X PBS and incubated for 45 minutes with secondary Alexa Flour 647
goat anti mouse antibody (cat. A21236 Invitrogen), at a concentration of 1:500,
diluted in PBS + 2% BSA. The coverslips were then washed 3 times with 1X PBS.
The coverslips were mounted using DAKO mounting media (cat. S3023), and
imaging of the cells was performed using an LSM 710 (ZEISS) confocal fluorescence
microscope.

JIP3 interaction with sacsin domains
To find the critical binding region of sacsin which interacts with JIP3, six well
characterized N terminally GST tagged sacsin deletion constructs, which include the
three SIRPTs, DNAJ HEPN, UBE3A binding site, and UBL domains (Fig.1), were
expressed in a bacterial system and used in pulldown assays to test for JIP3 binding.

Inside Out
Inside Out The film I chose to write a review on is Disney Pixar s Inside Out for
the reason the emotions in the movie such as Joy and Sadness are total opposite
however in the trailer of the movie they spend most of the time together. Another
reason I was interested in this film is because in the trailer I seen that Riley the
main character goes through many obstacles in her life and she is barely eleven
years old. Riley seemed like she was going through mid life crisis. I was curious
about how each emotion interacted with each other. In addition I was curious how
each emotion affected Riley s life in every aspect; whether it was her home life,
school life, life with her friends, and importantly her love for hockey. Inside Out also
seemed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Joy and Bing Bong thought they would been forgotten in the Memory
Dump, Joy was looking through Riley s toddler memories where Riley was
coloring on the floor and Joy says I remember how she used to stick her tongue out
while she colored. Then Joy seen another toddler where Riley was just talking and
Joy says I could have listened to her stories all day. I just wanted Joy to be happy.
Then Joy began to cry. This impacted me the most because I thought about my
niece and how fast she grew up. It seemed like yesterday she was barely learning
how to crawl. I was always there to take care of her and now she just is a smart
three year old. When Joy said I could have listened to her stories all day made me
break down because my niece Brystol has crazy stories and this just makes me sad
that she is at the age where she can actually use her imagination. When I went to
the movies to watch Inside Out, I also seen most of the mother bursting into tears
for the reason they did not actually realize how fast their child or children are
growing up. After that scene was over, I looked at my niece who was sitting right
beside me and I thought about all the cute she use to do like when she only know
how to army crawling, not actually crawl with her knee. I also thought about how her
language became more advance

  • 2. “Up and Down, Up and Down – That Is How Temperature and... Up and down, up and down that is how temperature and climate have always gone in the past and there is no proof they are not still doing exactly the same now. In other words, climate change is an entirely natural phenomenon, nothing to do with the burning of fossil fuels (David Bellamy). To what extent do you agree with this statement? The idea of climate change, for many, is an opinionated subject with much discussion of whether it is a real issue or just a natural phenomenon. However in recent years it is clear to see that trends in the Earth s climate and surface temperature has spiked to levels never seen before. Despite all the evidence of the high levels of greenhouses gases and the rise in temperature, many still believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nevertheless several lines of evidence show that current global warming cannot be explained by changes in energy from the sun, as if the warming were caused by a more active sun, then scientists would expect to see warmer temperatures in all layers of the atmosphere. Instead, they have observed a cooling in the upper atmosphere, and a warming at the surface and in the lower parts of the atmosphere. That s because greenhouse gasses are trapping heat in the lower atmosphere. Therefore it is highly unlikely that the change in solar output has caused the climate change experienced on Earth. Volcanic activity has also been associated with climate change as volcanic eruptions release gases and particulates into the atmosphere. Eruptions large enough to affect climate occur on average several times per century, and cause cooling, by partially blocking the transmission of solar radiation to the Earth s surface, for a period of a few years. The volcanic eruption in Iceland, EyjafjallajГ¶kull, in 2010 is thought to have released enough ash and gas to cause a change in the Earth s climate. In spite of this, the data shows that the change in the climate caused by volcanic activity is only short term, and therefore cannot be to blame for the trends that we are experiencing on Earth over the last century. Regardless of how climate change has been caused, there is clear evidence that it is a real issue. Earth orbiting satellites and other technological advances have enabled
  • 3. Why Blackfoot Should Have A Recreation Center Essay Why Blackfoot Should have a Recreation Center I have lived in Blackfoot for my entire life. Ever since I was exceedingly young, my family always drove out of town to Pocatello or Idaho Falls to go do activities. But as I got older we did not have much time and I cannot drive anywhere. This relates to many kids and teenagers in Blackfoot. If Blackfoot had a recreation center, there would be more entertainment for all ages and possibly more attention would come to little, old Blackfoot. A recreation center is a public location where the community assembles together for family fun activities for all ages. Most communities rely on the transportations of cars, buses, subways, taxis, and many more. Having a recreation center will reduce the cost of transportations. Transportation cost would decrease because of the price for gas, retail costs, and perhaps insurance. There are many types of recreation centers, it does not necessarily have to be a building, but simply many parks around town that are easy, safe, and reliable to... There could be a basketball court, trampoline park, American Ninja Warrior course, rock climbing walls, bounce houses for younger kids, and many more enjoyable forms of entertainment. A way that this could go into action is by abolishing the old swimming pool and building the facility where the swimming pool was. I believe that it would be appropriate in that certain location because the high school could offer some fun and enjoyable electives and could possibly have physical education there. It is also near the Drink Factory so that could bring a lot of realization because the Drink Factory gets a lot of
  • 4. The Ancient Egyptian Civilization The ancient Egyptian civilization is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Over a period of three thousand years many kingdoms and dynasties came into power and many died away into oblivion. One thing that kept Egyptian s works and memories alive were the scriptures they wrote. Today, from these scriptures written on the wall (or on papyrus) have helped Egyptologists to uncover the secrets and the lives of the ancient Egyptians. A major understanding we have from these scriptures and other uncovered paintings is ancient Egyptian s perception of religion and science. For them religion was not different from science. They used religion to explain the various worldly and cosmological phenomena. All their cosmogonies came from explanations based on religion and Gods. Gods were used to explain the origins of Earth, creation and maintenance of cosmos, concept of time and the various earthly and universal phenomena like origin of mankind, sunrise, sunset, migrations of birds, the stars, and constellations. In this essay I will be using various examples from ancient Egyptian scriptures, paintings, and texts to illustrate the Egyptians perception of the cosmos. There is no one coherent source from where we can learn Egyptians concept of the universe. The Egyptians explanations about the universe changed from city to city. The three major cities were Heliopolis, Memphis, and Hermopolis. During the fifth dynasty Heliopolis was pronounced as the capital of the Egyptian

Though Grupo Bimbo is now a multinational corporation, it began as a single family owned bakery in Mexico City called El Molino . Lorenzo Servitje Sendra worked with his father in the family bakery throughout his childhood, but when his father died in 1936 he had to take over. Lorenzo was educated and ambitious, and together with three of his family members devised a plan to increase the scope of their business. They bought five delivery vans to deliver their breads, wrapped in plastic to preserve freshness, to various small stores daily. Customers loved their product and within a few years they had increased production and were expanding outside of MexicoCity. By 1955 they had a fleet of 100 delivery trucks. They were growing fast and organized their operations as Grupo Industrial Bimbo in 1965. They were exporting their breads, crackers, cookies and other baked goods to South America, Portugal, and Spain. But the principals at Grupo Bimbo saw the untapped potential of the huge consumer market in their neighbors to the north, the United States (Thain, 2015). A corporate growth trajectory into the U.S. was carefully planned, and with the passage of the North American Free Trade Act in 1994 Bimbo was ready to act. How did this small group of determined people grow a family business into the largest provider
  • 6. Prejudice and Racism in Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Essay Racism in Conrad s Heart of Darkness Imagine floating up the dark waters of the Congo River in the Heart of Africa. The calmness of the water and the dense fog make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck as you wonder if the steamboats crew will eat you as you sleep. These things occur in Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness. Although the book is undeniably racist, was the author, Joseph Conrad, racist? Conrad was racist because he uses racial slurs, the slavery and unfair treatment of the native Africans in his book. The use of racist language is very prevalent in Heart of Darkness. Conrad, through Marlow, the main character, uses the word nigger when talking about native Africans on many occasions. The fool nigger had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A normal person today would feed and pay those who work for them. It is considered morally sound to do this. In Heart of Darkness, no one thinks it is wrong to not feed or pay those who work for you. It would be considered wrong to help feed the workers who are starving. Conrad raises no point in his book that this act is unacceptable. Conrad then believes it is okay. In Heart of Darkness,it is considered reasonable to make the natives at fault for things management has done. The manager sets Marlow s trade goods on fire and blames a native for the blaze. This act dehumanized the native much like a slave. Black figures strolled about listlessly, pouring water on the glow, whence proceeded a sound of hissing; steam ascended in the moonlight; the beaten nigger groaned somewhere. (Conrad 28) If the native people in Heart of Darkness were paid for their work it would be so minute that the natives would hardly be able to buy enough food to bring themselves out of starvation. Besides that, they had given them every week three pieces of brass wire each about nine inches long, and the theory was they were to buy their provisions with that currency in river side villages. (Conrad 42) The natives who received the wire never had a chance to use it because the boat never stopped at any villages. Conrad s relaxed writing style makes it sound humorous that the natives were treated unfairly and that is very racist. The unfair treatment of the
  • 7. The Strengths Of Social-Psychological Theory In Hispanic... Social Psychological Theory The feeling of belonging to or pertaining to an organization where common goals are expressed and pursued through the joint efforts of the members of that community defines social psychological theory. In other words, community members convey similar thoughts and emotions regarding the betterment of their community through the devotion of fulfilling a goal. Additionally, this communal effort stirs a sense of togetherness, fitting in, of making new friends, and of belonging to an organization that is providing a functioning environment. Ultimately, social psychological theoryemphasizes on how members of a community feel about their relationship with other community members. Social psychological theory involves different community roles in different cultures. For example, in a Hispanic culturethe father of a family is seen as the man of the house or head of household. Therefore, he has the ultimate say in what takes place within his home or how things are done. So, the father makes the imperative decisions that deal strictly with his family such as who is allowed to enter his home and at what time they are given permission to do so. Additionally, the Hispanic culture is structured as such and will continue with tradition until a break in the ritual changes. A strength pertaining to social psychological theory is the feeling of sharing an important identity to everyday life. Yet, a weakness is how a certain culture behaves and may be
  • 8. Don T Be Like Those Who Ask For Everything By Alice Walker How many of us are truly kind to others? How many of us are kind only because of the material wealth that person possess? Is it kindness or selfishness? Alice Walker in the poem Don t Be like Those Who Ask for Everything beautifully depicts the idea of how people come close to one another only if they are rich in wealth. She also says in the poem that those people or her friends who ask for everything will not be ready to offer anything in return. She indirectly mentions that the material wealth that the poet had did not come from snatching, stealing or magic but through her hard work. Instead of supporting her at that time, her friends take advantage of her material wealth. Indeed, she likes to have those friends who would recognise her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa are quite a few of them who were able change the idea of kindness and the need for moral values. Most of the times, people would support being selfish for various reasons. The Virtueof Selfishness A New Concept of Egoism is a collection of essays and poems by Ayn Rand and Nathaniel Branden. Rand s characterization of selfishness as a virtue, including in the title of the book, is one of its most controversial elements . Rand explains that selfishness cannot be always seen through the eyes of negativity. The precise meaning of the term selfishness could be concern with one s own interests and that it need not be bad. Alice Walker explains in her poem of the selfish deeds of these people who ask for everything and never provide anything in return. As we can see, both the authors are having a contrasting opinion on why selfishness is good and as to moral values have to be followed. It is interesting to relate the fact that both the sides of the different coin reflect the same answer. When one remarks selfishness as a concept of consideration to one s own interest the other would mention that they ask for everything and anything by offering

Due to the scrutinization and criticism surrounding Chris McCandless, Krakauer uses different examples of individuals who explored, the wild, and did not survive, as well as his own personal experience, to defend McCandless and his actions. In chapter nine, Krakauer underlines his authority and sets himself up to refute McCandless s detractors. He then establishes familiarity with seperate American men who ventured into the wilderness and did not make it out. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teen s perception of risk is different from adult perception. Younger people engage in more unknown risks because their brain can tolerate more ambiguity (Szalavitz, 1). This might explain why McCandless and so many other young people are drawn to adventure on their own into an unknown place. Teen s information processing relies on the rational part of the brain. This may be an explanation to why Chris may have been drawn to risk at a young age. He could have been drawn to the outdoors, and the urge to be there just stuck with him into his early adulthood. The explanation may lie in something as complex as the wiring of the brain or something as simple as the explanation that Chris had family issues that drove him to want to live in the wild, and away from interaction, or him just wanting to find himself, and he couldn t do it anywhere else. Regardless of the reason, Krakauer argues that Chris wasn t to be blamed for his misfortunes, but instead to be admired for his courage and sense of

This perseverance could be related to Allende s perseverance in life such as becoming a journalist and author. Throughout the three Fortunato generations, there was the desired result of a successful circus. The first Fortunato persevered through times of catastrophe and turmoil (105) and for years Horacio s grandfather bore the sole responsibility for the spectacle (105). His desire to save and maintain his circus came to the point where he had to perform almost all of the acts. However, he managed somehow to survive bad times while many other circuses succumbed and were thus obliterated(106). The first Fortunato s desire to keep his circus buoyant left him to persevere through all the hard time and come out stronger. The first Fortunato s son, Fortunato II, was left a debt free enterprise. He too persevered with an unshakable prudence and under his direction the circus grew in size and prestige until it was the largest in the nation. (105) He made it so that the enormous caravan no longer drifted aimlessly, as it had in his father s day, but steamed purposefully (106). The second Fortunato was able to make the circus a greater success. His father before him allowed him to do so through his perseverance and thus created a new, higher goal for his son to reach. Horacio, the third Fortunato, intended to be rich from the time he was a young boy (108). His goal was predetermined and he eventually lived a good life.

It consists of two tectonic plates where one plate is sliding underneath another. In this case, the oceanic plate Juan de Fuca is sliding under the continental plate known as the North American plate. In her article, Schulz repeats the words of seismologists and scientists alike in the opinion that the Cascadia Subduction Zone is overdue for a magnitude 9.0 or higher earthquakeand resulting tsunami. No one in the Pacific Northwest is prepared for it. With historical stories and examples from around the world Schulz warns of the damage to be done when the Really Big One finally makes itself known. In her article, Schulz uses three rhetorical appeals. These appeals are called Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. Aristotle, the Greek philosopher, created these terms to refer specifically to the different ways they appeal to the reader. Ethos is used to establish credibility, Pathos refers to emotion, and Logos is the appeal to logic. While the article is packed full of history, science and facts, it s the appeal to emotion that really draws in the readers and instills curiosity and a desire for action. Schulz s article is split into five sections. The first section introduces the readers to Chris Goldfinger, a paleoseismologist at Oregon State University. Goldfinger was at a seismology conference in Kashiwa, Japan when the 2011 Tohoku

However, cycle time also requires higher level of equipment and labor to finish the task in order to achieve consistent quality and high efficiency. 1. Customization Make to Stock Make to stock is one of the manufacturing processes which are used as holding inventory at the end of the supply chain. In make to stock system, companies are necessarily able to evaluate demand to decide how much products they should produce and stock (Rabbani, 2011). As a consequence, make to stock has to be relied on forecasting. Make to stock (MTS) products involve no any customization. Generic products are produced in large amount of volumes to justify keeping a finished goods inventory. Consumers have to buy these products off the shelf from retail stores. In our scenario, LWT produces batches of 500 50 1000 of shutters as inventory. Therefore, make to stock which is the least level of customization was offering by LWT. As knowing LWT is using make to stock system, it has obviously objective for their products,
  • 16. Genetic And Non Genetic Mechanisms Of Inheritance Essay Regina Noel 10/19/2016 Epigenetics: Genetic and Non Genetic Mechanisms of Inheritance When discussing the topic of genetics, it is typically viewed from the perspective of Mendelian inheritance in which genes are transmitted from parent to offspring solely through the use of genetic alleles, which are the alternative form of genes that have varying DNA sequences and chromosomes that affect the phenotype, visual gene trait (Toth. 2015). If and how a genetic trait is expressed is whether the alleles for that trait are dominant or recessive. Dominant alleles are genes that have a higher probability of being expressed in the offspring than a recessive allele. In the case of dominate alleles; there are two possible combinations that its gene can still be expressed with, homozygous (which contains two dominant alleles) and heterozygous (which contains a dominant and recessive allele). On the other hand, recessive alleles can only be expressive if it is homozygous (which contains two recessive alleles) (Reece et al. 2013). Since Gregor Mendel s discovery of alleles and genetic inheritance, there has been research shows that there are more mechanisms of inheriting traits which do not include changing the nucleotide sequence of DNA. This form of non genetic inheritance is called epigenetic modification. One example of epigenetic modification is DNA methylation. DNA methylation is when methyl groups, which are chemical groups that contain one carbon bound to three hydrogen atoms,

The decision was made to concentrate on an open surgery strategy. Early adoption, particularly for a small fish in a big pond, is critical to any start up. This direction, spearheaded by management, was a deft decision for several reasons. The customer base in this field consists of an end user with a complex hierarchy and buyer process. However, it is ultimately the end user s decision which makes or breaks a product in this field. Therefore, the decision to launch the product for use in open surgeries as opposed to laparoscopic procedures vastly increased the attractiveness to the early adopter base. The open surgery tool strategy enabled doctors to rely on backwards compatibility (the ability to simply fall back on the tried and true cut and suture method), another key point with experimental tools and methods. Prior to Starion s laser tissue welding breakthrough, the most common electrosurgical tool was the monopolar device, also known as the Bovie device. With

This article begins with a story about a man by the name of Tobin Holmes who feared he couldn t take on his job s responsibilities because he wasn t good enough. Tobin felt he was an imposter and would be exposed for who he truly was. Neurotic imposture can take toll over successful people and turn their life for the worse; a success into a failure. Vries explained, to some extent, of course, we are all impostors . As humans we take on the roles that try to show a different side to others publicly and then a private, different life. After breakfast, we boarded the bus and headed for Glenveagh Castle. The castle itself was beautiful, from the elaborate interiors, to the stunning gardens and trails, and the gorgeous scenery. The castle even has a curse attached to it, showing how Irish culture is fond of myths and superstitions. After we left the castle, we went back to the community center for lessons in Irish culture and dance. To each cuvette we added 1 ml of coomassie blue dye and on the blank cuvette we added 20 ul of PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline). We then added 20 ul of each standard to the respective cuvettes using a new clean tip for each use. Each cuvette was covered with parafilm and inverted to mix allowing it to sit for a total of 5 minutes. We first inserted the blank cuvette into the spectrophotometer and pressed blank once right after we put in each of the cuvettes with the protein concentrations. In between each cuvette we put in a blank before the next step. After the absorbance were recorded, we created the standard curve. We then graphed the standard curve, with solutions and their protein concentrations. We then labeled each cuvette along with a blank. We repeated the process from finding the standard curve with the known solution. We then used the equation from the standard curve in order to find the concentrations of proteins and compared. • 31. Vegetarianism Vs. Vegetarian Diet The word diet is defined as the kinds of food a person habitually eats. Diets often vary according to culture, religion, and personal preference. People often use different diets as a way to manage their weight or improve their overall health, both vegetarianism and flexitarianism are diets that are commonly adopted in order to improve health. Vegetarianismis typically practiced as lacto ovo vegetarianism which means that milk products and eggs may be consumed although meat, fish, and meat byproducts are not. A flexitarian diet is less easily defined because it consists mainly of a vegetarian diet and includes only small amounts of meat when necessary. Both diets are based on either eliminating or reducing meat intake in one s diet. Vegetarianism/Flexitaritarism diets are effect at reducing the risk of some diseases and can be used as a way to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. Vegetarianism was officially named by the British Vegetarian Society in the 1800s ( History ). Some anthropologists suggest that early humans were primarily gatherers and that their diet consisted mainly of plant foods, this theory is supported by the fact that the human body can function properly without consuming meat. No one specifically developed the vegetarian diet and a flexitarian is basically vegetarianism with the occasional consumption of meat. Flexitarianism is a good option for those who want to receive the health benefits of vegetarianism without completely giving up meat.
  • 32. Economics and the Problem of Utility Maximization Within the field of economics, the utility maximization problem represents an attempt to quantify the rationale used when consumers attempt to maximize the satisfaction, or utility, they derive from the purchase of goods. With the typical predetermined budgetary restriction imposed on the process, consumers must balance their own limited funds against their desire to obtain certain items. This means that the eventual level of utility received from all potential affordable packages, and thus the consumer s optimal choices, can be expressed via the equation x(p, w), where p is equal to a good s price and w is equal to the consumer s wealth. The price of any given product must be considered during any attempt to answer the utility maximization problem, because if , then u must be continuous and no goods can be obtained free of charge (McEachern, 2010). In other words, because the two rules dictating the boundaries of utility maximization within a two good model clearly state that the marginal utilities per dollar must be equal and the consumer s entire budget must be exhausted, the inclusion of goods which can be obtained free of charge skews any conclusions regarding the consumer s eventual utility. A good which costs nothing will always provide more immediate happiness than one which costs money, and this fact prohibits economists from effectively modeling any two good comparisons between free and for cost items. As is typically the case for economics, however, simple

The home rule question played a prominent part in Irish history for over 40 years. Home Rule, the ideology that a country under a colony would rule itself from home, caused bitter political and social divisions throughout Ireland. Whilst the division between nationalists and unionist became rife, Home Rule unified many that were willing to fight for Ireland s cause. In Ulster there was a sectarian rivalry between Protestants and Catholics. The secret ballot act of 1872 and the Reform act of 1884 reduced the political power of protestant and they felt threatened. From 1885 to 1886, Home Rule became a greater possibility for Ireland, unionists and Protestants became more restless and agitated. Divisions emerged in politics and in 1885 the Irish Loyal and Patriotic Union were set up to fight Home Rule. After the general election of 1885 divisions were further polarised between unionists and nationalists. The electorate was divided into the Home Rulers and the unionists. The Orange Order was revived and it unified Protestants of all classes against Home Rule. Many Protestants became a member of the Ulster Loyalist and Anti Repeal Union which was established in 1886. Unfortunately, some people fail to fully connect how their daily lifestyle impacts the ability to live these ideal long and happy lives. As the CDC (2016) states, nearly 70% of the U.S. population is considered overweight or obese and almost 40 million people still smoke. These statistics indicate that there are numerous unhealthy behaviors that a bulk of our population chooses to participate in. This brings us to the question, what would it take to shift our country into not only helping them to stop, but also them wanting to stop partaking in these unhealthy behaviors and truly fulfill the desire to want to live longer? Since the majority of the population relies on the U.S. health system to help treat them once arguably preventable health issues arise, why not take the opportunity to use the same system to help combat these unhealthy behaviors from the start. The U.S. health system could implement more educational opportunities, specific prevention programs, help reduce health disparities, increase health literacy, and offer incentives for healthy behaviors. Prior to determining what specific actions and policies to take within the U.S. health care system, we must first look into who is taking part in these unhealthy behaviors and if there are any particular reason why. Elizabeth Ammon once argued that women like Wharton, Cather and Stein were the real giants against whom writers such as Fitzgerald and Hemingway needed to define themselves. The Age of Innocence was the most sophisticated novel written by Edith Wharton in the year of 1920, when American women first had the right to vote. Wharton reviewed the 1870s New York upper class society in the sight of 1920s. Like most of her works, The Age of Innocence tells a story about love and marriage among three characters: Newland Archer, Ellen Olenska and May Welland. Young lawyer Newland and beautiful girl May announce their engagement at the party for welcoming the return of Ellen Olenska, May s cousin who was born in New York but later has grown up in Europe and married a wealthy Polish Count. Ellen comes back to New York for her family s support and comfort because of her husband s unfaithfulness. However, as she claims to divorce, the whole family as well as the whole Old New York society strongly opposes to it for they regard divorce as scandal and humiliation. So they send Newland to persuade Ellen from her decision. However, Newland is gradually fascinated by Ellen s confidence, sophistication and individuality, which he never feels from his innocent fiancГ©e and inevitably falls in love with her. He hesitates between the two totally different women and vacillates whether he run
  • 39. Struggle And Disillusionment In Shakespeare s Hamlet As with the majority of Shakespeare s works, the 1601 tragedy of Hamlet still remains as an acclaimed source of inspiration for complex interpretations and in depth criticism. Its values lies not within its plot, but rather within the constituents that gives rise to the textual integrity of the play. Hence, such thematic concerns of Struggle and Disillusionment are dramatically explored through elements of the dramatic form to impart an effect on the audience that allows the play to transcend contextual barriers. Such elements include the characterisation of the eponymous protagonist, various soliloquies, character foils, and the structure of the play. Edgar Johnson, expresses in his text The Dilemma of Hamlet (1956) that Hamlet s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, this would lead to an internal struggle unique to the audience as the notion of antic disposition becomes blurred as the play progresses. This is further supported by the presence of the Ghost in Act 3, of which only Hamlet notices. Gertrude assures Hamlet, This is the very coinage of your brain/This bodiless creation ecstasy/Is very cunning in. (Act 3 Scene 4). This gives rise to the suggestion that the Ghost is a manifestation of his newfound madness and hence the authenticity of Hamlet s apparent madness is a source of conflict within the audience. Johnson, however, views Hamlet s madness as an innate quality that encompasses the temptation to wreak justice for the wrong reasons and in evil passion... . He does not consider the audience s knowledge of Hamlet s antic disposition which allows for the interpretation that the dilemma is perhaps his progression to madness. Accordingly, the peculiar dramatic treatment of struggle through the multifarious and inwardness nature of Hamlet directly engages the audience continuously. The internal struggles and disillusionment of characters are conveyed to the audience in an intimate manner through the use of soliloquies. His core dilemma is revealed to the audience in his first soliloquy in Act 1, Scene 2 where he expresses his disillusionment with the world and life upon his mother s swift remarriage to his uncle, describing it as ...weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable/Seem

  • 41. Drinking Age Outline Specific Purpose: The legal drinking age in the United States being reduced to eighteen. Introduction: How many people here believe that the drinking age should be changed to eighteen years old in the United states? The drinking age in the United states has been twenty one since 1984 when all 50 states decided to pass they would pass the National minimum drinking age act. This bill required all of the states to have a drinking age of twenty one. If the states did not comply with the federal drinking laws they would lose ten percent of their national highway funding. This would be dramatic loss of money for the state funding its road repair programs. This pretty much forced all of the states to agree that now the drinking age would be raised to twenty one instead of eighteen. Thesis Statement: When teens turn 18 they deserve all the rights that come with being an adult, lowering the drinking age will not only cause teens to become more responsible it will also reduce drunk driving accidents as seen in other countries who have already implemented this law. Credibility: When I went on a vacation to Punta Cana after my eighteenth birthday It was legal for me to drink at that age in this country. This was a great experience but the thing it taught me most of all is that you need to be responsible while you are drinking. Preview: The drinking age being 21 makes teens see this as something they re forbidden from which only causes them to become more irresponsible when they
  • 42. The Evolution of Art and Style during the Renaissance Art, like everything in society, evolves at a certain space. During the Renaissance, art was always pushing the limits from what was previously seen or created. The Renaissance was a revival of Classical Antiquity and the artists went above the standard and created pieces that were intricate and visually pleasing. While the Baroque period was also a time of revival, it mostly revolved around the Catholic religion. Artists wanted to portray classic religious scenes in a more expressive way because during this time, protestantism was on the rise and in order to try and squash this new religion, the Catholics reinvented some great religious pieces but in a more emotional way. Through these following pieces, the evolution of art and style is evident. The first piece comes from the year 1320 ,which is considered the Proto Renaissance, and it is from Giotto di Bondone. It is call The Adoration of the Magi and it depicts the scene of Jesus birth and how the three wise men came and paid their respects for the new king, Jesus. This piece helps you understand the switch in style of art because it allows the viewer to understand what the basic standard of excellent art was before the Renaissance. This work is tempera on wood and you can see that it is Proto Renaissance/ Byzantine because of its one dimensional look and how each subject in the painting is visible and how they have basic expressions. In the next painting, standards for paintings slowly started to change from

The teen was initially resuscitated when she arrived, but she couldn t hold on when an infection from her hair took over. The strange part is that the infection didn t happen on her head, according to LincolnshireLive. Beever was killed by a hairball that was found in her stomach. The hairball caused an infection in her stomach, which developed into peritonitis, an inflammation of the peritoneum, which is the layer of tissue in the abdomen that covers the organs. The infection caused an ulcer that burst, shutting down her vital organs. Donna Marshall, the mother of Beever s best friend, Billie Jo Ashwell, explained how the heartbreaking death began: Jasmine collapsed at college, she went home to bed and then later she came out in blotches, and the rest is sad news. Marshall said Jasmine had been sucking/chewing her hair for years. She put out a plea to other parents to be aware of the dangers of sucking on their hair after her daughter s friend lost her life: She wrote: Please Please PLEASEEEEEE!!!! • 45. The Folly Of The Evil In Herman Melville s Billy Budd The Folly of the Innocent Nobody is perfect. It is asinine to believe that perfection can be truly achieved. There will always be a flaw that develops in an individual. Whether it s small or even fatal, these flaws will always prevail and be remembered by generations to come. Take Napoleon Bonaparte for example. He led one of the greatest revolutions in history; however, there was a characteristic of his personality that sealed his downfall. He had an insatiable hunger for limitless power. He became greedy and tried to take on more than his army could handle. His ruling was almost perfect except for his craze for power. Again, nobody can be perfect even fictional characters created by Herman Melville. Billy Buddin Billy Budd, Sailor and Selected Tales seemed to have all the characteristics of a perfect individual. The only problem is that he had a stutter which eventually caused his death his fatal flaw. He could not express his emotions to Captain Vere so he acted out by punching Claggart in the face, murdering him in the process. This lack of ability to communicate caused outburst and death on the ship. While this may have been wrong from a legal standpoint, I believe that Billy Budd was ethically justified when it came to the accidental murderof Claggart. People will bring up arguments as to why Billy Budd was not justified in killing Claggart. For one thing, they will argue that murder is murder. There is no reason as to why killing someone can be morally right in
  • 46. Child Development Reflection The moment I glanced at my schedule, I immediately knew that something was wrong. The classes that I had planned for, that I had spent hours interrogating upperclassmen about, were not all there. My carefully planned out future was swiftly and harshly brought to an end with the final statement at the bottom of my supposedly new schedule All schedules are final, and will only be considered if the student has been placed in a classwith a repeat credit. Two years ago, my school administrators placed me in a semester class that I did not sign up for titled Child Development. With over two thousand schedules to consider, it was not a major surprise that some of them had gotten messed up along the way. However, I was shocked that something like this would ever have happened to me. How on earth could the classes that I wanted to take be overlooked? How dare they do this to me. I immediately requested a schedule change. When the change was denied I was appalled. I was going to be forced to take a class that I didn t know much about. It seemed like every force in the world was against me. There was nothing that I wouldn t have done to get out of that class. The first day of the second semester seemed to drag by until I was finally in the last place that I wanted to be, Child Development. I walked into the class with a horrible attitude and an absolute assurance that I was going to hate every aspect of the class. And yet, I didn t. As the semester progressed, I was drawn in by

Inside Out Inside Out The film I chose to write a review on is Disney Pixar s Inside Out for the reason the emotions in the movie such as Joy and Sadness are total opposite however in the trailer of the movie they spend most of the time together. Another reason I was interested in this film is because in the trailer I seen that Riley the main character goes through many obstacles in her life and she is barely eleven years old. Riley seemed like she was going through mid life crisis. I was curious about how each emotion interacted with each other. In addition I was curious how each emotion affected Riley s life in every aspect; whether it was her home life, school life, life with her friends, and importantly her love for hockey. I was always there to take care of her and now she just is a smart three year old. When Joy said I could have listened to her stories all day made me break down because my niece Brystol has crazy stories and this just makes me sad that she is at the age where she can actually use her imagination. When I went to the movies to watch Inside Out, I also seen most of the mother bursting into tears for the reason they did not actually realize how fast their child or children are growing up. After that scene was over, I looked at my niece who was sitting right beside me and I thought about all the cute she use to do like when she only know how to army crawling, not actually crawl with her knee. I also thought about how her language became more advance
