This in turn leads to percolation at lower
volume fraction, resulting in higher electrical
conductivity

.To achieve transparency, scattering must be
minimized
. which means that the nanoparticles should
be as small as possible
.while the index of refraction should remain
as similar as possible to the matrix.

nanocomposites is in controlling the index of

• Mechanical: increased modulus, strength,
toughness, elongation (in some cases)
• Chemical: improved solvent resistance,
improved moisture resistance
• Barrier: reduced oxygen, moisture
transmission
