Killer made by the people…
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural
environment that causes adverse change.
 Air pollution
 Water pollution
 Soil pollution
 Noise pollution
 It can either be foreign substances/energies or naturally
occurring contaminants which pollutes the environment.
 It can be from
schools,restaurants,houses,transportation,occupational etc…
NB:
Founded in 1999, is an international non-profit organization
dedicated to eliminate life threatening pollution in the
developing world. It has completed over 30 projects in 15
countries and currently engaged in over 30 projects over 15
countries. This organization is headed by Richard Fuller.
 Air pollution:
The release of chemicals and particulars into the
atmosphere that causes discomfort, disease or death to
humans, damage other living organisms such as food crops
or damage the natural environment or built environment.
The air pollutants can be in the form of solid particles, liquid
droplets or gases. In addition they may be natural or
manmade.
 Water pollution:
Water pollution is the contamination of water
bodies. It occurs when pollutants are directly or indirectly
discharging pollutants in to the water, thus it effect plants
and animals living in water. An estimated 1000, Indian
children die of diarrheal sickness every day and also nearly
500 million people lack access to safe drinking water.
 Soil pollution:
soil pollution is caused by the presence of
xenobiotic (human made) chemicals or other alteration in the
natural soil environment.
It is caused by:
 Industrial activity
 Agriculture chemicals
 Improper disposal of waste
This pollution causes congenital disorders. It effects the
ground water, food chain, crop yield and soil fertility.
 Noise pollution:
Is a excessive, displacing human, animal, or
machine created environmental noise that disrupts the
activity or balance of human or animal life.
The noise can be from construction fields , transportation
system, factories etc…..
It can effect both health and behavior, physiological and
psychological health, cause annoyance and aggression,
hypertension, tinnitus , hearing loss etc…
 Air pollution: Air pollution is a significant risk factor for
multiple health conditions including respiratory infections,
heart disease, and lung cancer, according to the WHO. The
health effects caused by air pollution may include difficulty in
breathing, wheezing, coughing and aggravation of existing
respiratory and cardiac conditions.
 Water pollution: It causes vomiting or diarrhea, a sick
stomach, skin rashes, cancer (leukemia),reproductive
problems (infertility),developmental problems (disabilities)
etc…
 Soil pollution:
Chronic exposure to chromium, lead and other metals,
petroleum, solvents, and many pesticide and herbicide
formulations can be carcinogenic, can cause congenital
disorders. Mercury and cyclodiens causes kidney
damage,PCB(polychlorinated biphenyl) are linked to liver
toxicity and other such as head ache, nausea, fatigue, eye
irritation etc….
 Noise pollution:
It can cause cardio vascular effects, hearing loss, sleep
disturbance, annoyance, agression also it can have a
detrimental(harm) effect on animals.
 Pollution control is a term used in environmental
management. It means the control
of emissions and effluents into air, water or soil. With out
pollution control, the waste products from consumption,
heating, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, transportation
and other human activities, whether they accumulate or
disperse, will degrade the environment. In the hierarchy of
controls, pollution prevention and waste minimization are
more desirable than pollution control.
PLEASE DON’T POLLUTE!!!!!!!
