Pollution is the introduction of harmful materials into the environment. These harmful materials are called pollutants. Pollutants can be natural, such as volcanic ash. They can also be created by human activity, such as trash or runoff produced by factories. Pollutants damage the quality of air, water, and land.

3. 1. AIR POLLUTION
• Air pollution is the contamination of air due to the presence of substances in the
atmosphere that are harmful to the health of humans and other living beings, or
cause damage to the climate or to materials.

4. 2. WATER POLLUTION
• Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies, usually as a result of human
activities, so that it negatively affects its uses. Water bodies include lakes, rivers,
oceans, aquifers, reservoirs and groundwater. Water pollution results when
contaminants mix with these water bodies

5. 3.SOIL POLLUTION
• Soil contamination, soil pollution, or land pollution as a part of land degradation is
caused by the presence of xenobiotic chemicals or other alteration in the natural
soil environment. It is typically caused by industrial activity, agricultural chemicals
or improper disposal of waste

6. 4.NOISE POLLUTION
• Noise pollution, or sound pollution, is the propagation of noise or sound with
ranging impacts on the activity of human or animal life, most of which are harmful
to a degree. The source of outdoor noise worldwide is mainly caused by
machines, transport and propagation systems.

• Both short- and long-term exposure to air pollution can lead to a wide range of
diseases, including stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, trachea,
bronchus and lung cancers, aggravated asthma and lower respiratory infections.

8. 6.ENVIOURMENTAL IMPACT
• pollutants can enter rivers and lakes, eventually accumulating in our oceans.
Some chemicals used in industry and agriculture can enter the food chain and
accumulate in our bodies. Ongoing biomonitoring research sheds light on these
chemicals and their health impacts. Climate change affects all Europeans.
