Kia Forte Research Paper
2017 Kia Forte
Record Breaking Sales Numbers for the Kia Forte
June of 2017 saw a record number of Kia Fortes leaving dealership lots, which helped give Kia
Canada, Inc. its second best month on record. June 2017 gave the Forte its best June year to date in its
history.
The Law of Attraction
Just about everything on the Kia Forte is attractive, which might be why people are putting this family
oriented passenger car in their garages.
From its laidback body style with a narrow nose and a backwards sloping roofline to its sporty wheels,
the Forte makes a bold statement to others. It appears ready to take on any of your driving demands
without a single complaint from the engine compartment.
In fact, thanks to Kia s commitment to driving experiences, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This type of race technology has gone into the development of the drive mode. You can make
adjustments to the transmission settings in the Forte to meet your current driving conditions.
Drive mode selection allows you to tailor the transmission performance manually. You would use
Normal mode when driving around town and other every day driving, but you might use the Sport
mode when you need something a little more aggressive or are focused on performance.
The Econ mode lets you save fuel.
No matter which mode you need, it s nice to be able to choose.
Under the hood on the Kia Forte LX, you will find a 2.0 litre MPI 4 cylinder all alumunium engine
capable of producing 147 horsepower at 6,200 RPMs.
The EX and SX trim levels are powered by a 2.0 litre GDI 4 cylinder with 164 horsepower at 6,200
RPMs.
The LX comes standard with a 6 speed manual transmission. The 6 speed Sportmatic automatic is
standard in other models and optional in the LX.
Family Friendly
Just because Kia made the Forte sporty and fun to drive does not mean that it is not a family friendly
car.

Argumentative Essay On Submariness
In the early 17 century Cornelius van Drebel invented the first submarine. The first submarine was

When underwater the submarine uses internal guidance systems that keeps tract of the ship s motion
from a fixed starting point using gyroscopes (Works). To locate targets submarines use a passive sonar,
that works by emitting sound waves through water and allowing the sound waves to reflect off the
target and return (Works). There are a lot of things that make a submarine work the biggest thing has
to be the pressure hull. It is the most important because when the submarine goes below the water
there is lots of pressure pushing in on it. Most submarines have two hulls one on the outside that is
waterproof and another on the inside that is much stronger and resistant to immense water pressure
(Submarines). The maximum depth that submarines ever dive is 2000 feet at that depth the pressure is
sixty times greater than greater than at the surface

Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars
Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars
David Guterson s novel Snow Falling on Cedars undoubtedly holds high acclaim in its reputable
attempt to show the prejudice between the Americans and Japanese after World War II and more
importantly the prejudice that is unavoidably apart of human nature. The author of the criticism
recognizes and brings to light the things done by Guterson throughout the novel. He refers to the
animosity between people brought about by differences, the unwillingness to accept change, and also
states that things end in a moral and justified manner.
The author refers to old passions, prejudices, and grudges surfacing throughout the novel taking place
off the Washington coast. In referring to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has not succumbed to the immoral prejudice toward Kabuo because of his origins that the rest of
the community so prevalently upholds. The courthouse as described thought imagery in the novel is
seen as protection from the actual storm taking place outside, but in actually goes much deeper to
represent protection from the storm that is brewing within the interracial community of San Piedro.
The resentment between the cultures has been sheltered and nurtured for so long, but the courthouse
can only protect it for so long before it gives way to the storm. The courthouse represents the ideal
society where equality exists but is being withered and worn by the storm called prejudice. In
reference to the relationship between Hatsue and Ishmael the author states Kabuo s wife is the
undying passion of Ishmael Chambers...he can t shake his obsession for Hatsue any more than he can
ignore the ghost pains in his nonexistent arm. Aside from the main conflict of prejudice, the conflict
between Ishmael and Hatsue s illegitimate relationship is one of the most passion driven arguments in
the book. Ishmael becomes so stuck on the fact that Hatsue is the only person he will ever love; he
loses sight with reality sometimes and remembers the day he was cut out of Hatsues life just as vividly
as the moment his arm was amputated. The magnitude of his emotion towards her becomes ironic and
shows his instability. When he becomes

Athletic Training Elitism
Majority of young people s lives, they are constantly pondering just which college to attend or what
profession is best. In most cases, individuals who attend college are not aware or decided on what
major will be pursued. To self reflect and figure out what exactly is the right fit, a large portion of time

Aicpa Code Of Professional Conduct Essay
Audit Research
Introduction
Accounting and management are the major pillars of an organization that contributes to the country s
economy. Introduction of AICPA Code of Professional Conduct helps in controlling the business
operation especially in the accounting and management departments. Accounting and management
fraud have been experienced whereby through corruption or other means, entrusted managers and
accountants tend to be selfish in undertaking their duties. These factors are well addressed by the
AICPA Code of Professional Conduct principles. Therefore, the study seeks to introduce two case
studies whereby the management fraud have been experienced. Furthermore, the study will
incorporate the use of AICPA Code of Professional Conduct in controlling the situation to ensure
harmonious business operation in the management.
AICPA Code of Professional Conduct principles prevents vises such as fraud that are experienced in
accountancy field. Audit is the best measure of the effect of the fraud that are imposed to investors by
accountants. The relationship of the investors and account holders are supposed to be affirmed through
auditing to ensure accounting principles are upheld(Weirich, Pearson, Churyk, 2010). Improper loss of
the funds through propagation of the accountant officer should be treated as fraud and criminal
activity that should lead to prosecution. Therefore, the paper seeks to relate two fraud cases that have
been audited and presenting AICPA Code of

The Political Terms Left And Right Were Devised During The...
The political terms left and right were devised during the French revolution to describe the seating
arrangement in the British parliament. Those who sat on the left were generally opposed the monarchy
and supported the revolutions, while those on the right supported the traditional institutions of the
British Empire. It was during the nineteen century that the word wing began following the term left
and right, usually with weary intent. Those considered left wing were unorthodox in their religious or
political view
A radical ideology of the left is defined as political positions or activities that accepts or supports
social equality, often in opposition to social hierarchy and social inequality. Often those of left wing
ideology involve in concern for those in society who are perceived at a disadvantage relative to others
and a belief that there are unjustified inequalities that need to be reduced or abolished. They propose a
view of human beings living together harmoniously without great disparities in wealth or social
classes. On the other hand, those of the right wing radical ideology are political positions or activities
that view some forms of social inequality as either inevitable, natural, normal or desirable and
typically defend this position based on natural law, economics or traditions.
On radical ideology that might take place in the United States is capitalism. The capitalist theory isn t

Interpreting The Matrix through Descartes’s Philosophy Essay
Many ancient philosophers, including Plato, explored metaphysics in relation to reality before
Descartes s in depth questioning of the subject. However, Descartes s views on mind/body dualism
differ greatly from Plato s. As Marleen Rozemond (author of Descartes s Dualism) points out, Plato
believes that the body is simply a vessel for the soul to use, while Descartes provides proof that the
body and soul are interconnected (172). One does not simply use the other; though they are separate,
the mind affects the body and the body affects the mind. Cartesian dualism tells us that although the
whole mind seems to be united to the whole body, I recognize that if a foot or arm or any other part of
the body is cut off, nothing has thereby been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Descartes states that:
Once the foundations of a building are undermined, anything built on them collapses of its own
accord; so I will go straight for the basic principles on which all my former beliefs rested. Whatever I
have up till now accepted as most true I have acquired either from the senses or through the senses.
But from time to time I have found that the senses deceive, and it is prudent never to trust completely
those who have deceived us even once. (384)
Through questioning the knowledge he had always believed to be true, Descartes comes to realize that
many of his basic beliefs were founded on sensual knowledge. This leads him to question his very
existence, and eventually to search for unconditional proof of his existence
Christopher Falzon, philosophy lecturer and author of Philosophy Goes to the Movies and Philosophy
and The Matrix, points out that The Matrix employs Cartesian style skepticism in its attempt to
inundate the viewer in this cyber world ( Philosophy and the Matrix 99). This is seen in Neo s choice
between the red pill and blue pill in The Matrix, which can be likened to Descartes s employment of
the acid test. Neo, a computer hacker, is told that a man named Morpheus can tell him the meaning of
the Matrix, a term that Neo has encountered several times. Upon meeting Morpheus, Neo is given a
choice: he can take a blue pill which will make him forget about his quest to discover the meaning of
the Matrix, or he can

A Case Manager At An Outpatient Clinic
Ms.C was a case manager at an outpatient clinic that provided a variety of services. One of her clients
was Ms. R, who was receiving services as a result of a recent divorce. Ms. C had also experienced a
divorce in her past and though she had effectively dealt with that experience, but found herself
identifying with many comments by Ms. R. Through their work together, the two women realized they
shared many common interests. They often found themselves talking about these shared interests in
their time together and eventually began meeting for coffee after their sessions. Ms. R soon suggested
they begin spending additional time together socially and Ms. C agreed. Before long, they became fast
friends, spending significant amount of social time together on evenings and weekends, visiting clubs,
going to movies or visiting local restaurants. After several months, the two had a falling out about a
gentleman both women favors. Ms. R filed a complaint with the Regulatory agency in her state about
the relationships. Throughout this paper this case will be analyzed including the harmful effects of the
relationship on all parties involved in the helping relationship, the social and emotional impacts of the
relationship, the effect on the treatment relationship, the likely outcome of Ms. R s complaint if filed
in New York State, and the strategies to minimize the likelihood of such a relationship arising. There

Acoustic Environment Within Fice
Task 1A: Acoustic environment within the office: the office should be a quite tranquil place to allow
concentration levels to excel on the workers behalf. This can be created by using things like sound
proof glass and insulation and having heavy duty soundproof doors. However I do not believe these
actions will be needed as the office block is located in quite a rural and quiet area in itself. However
there will be some steps taken to ensure the tranquillity of the offices such as the insulation being
sound proof. Another factor would be that the walls must be thick to allow little sound in the office
from the surrounding area to allow more concentration. Essentially 35 decibels of sound would be an
optimum noise level this is like the same level of acoustics in a library. Things like the printer and the
other machines can effect noise levels but keeping them in a separate room can prevent them from
becoming a distraction. Also the customers of the shop below could create noise but good insulation
will prevent this to a certain degree.
Thermal environment within the office: the thermal factors of the office block should be a constant
comfortable heat this allows the workers to concentrate a lot better and results in a better work
environment. This can be accomplished by underground heating using heated pipes under a carpeted
office block. Also insulation will be needed to a high degree which will allow the room to remain at
the constant temperature desired I mentioned

The Suez Crisis and Sir Antony Eden
The Suez Crisis is often cited by some historians as one of the worst historical decisions that imprinted
an indelible mark on the then British premier Sir Antony Eden. More often than not the decision by
Eden to invade Egypt following a disagreement about nationalization of the Suez Canal is often cited
as a the worst foreign policy decision that destroyed Eden political career and humiliated British
empire in its wake. The decision by Eden to use military force against Nasser is often viewed by many
as arising from a personal grudge towards Nasser, while only a few defend the fact that Eden had
attempted to resolve the looming conflict peacefully.
A Brief Introduction about Sir Robert Antony Eden It is unfortunate that despite Sir Antony Eden
having successfully served as Britain for three decades as a foreign secretary and his subsequent rise
to become the British prime minister in 1955 was overshadowed by the 1956 Suez Crisis that saw him
tender his resignation after serving approximately 18 months in office. While justifying this action,
Eden cited that he was protecting British commercial interests of which the recent nationalization of
the Suez Canal by Nasser seemed to threaten. Eden strongly perceived Nasser as a dictator and that his
actions could easily be replicated with the actions of Hitler and Mussolini that subsequently ignited
World War.
Born to a baronet in County Durham on 12 June 1987, Antony Eden was educated at Eton and oxford
where he

Dislocating My Kneess
The event that I would have to say I experienced in my like that changed my outlook on life would
have to be when I dislocated both of my knees last year a week and a day after New Year s Day. The
reason I choose this experience is because through hardships and stumbles God always has a plan and
reason for it. Like Jeremiah 29:11 13 (NIV) says 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the
LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you
will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me
when you seek me with all your heart. This is the verse I apply daily to my life. I dislocated both of
my knees doing one of my greatest passions, dance. I was doing a standard turn called the ice skaters
turn and when I put my legs together I blacked out. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The time it took for me to get to the hospital for doctors to relocate my knees to their rightful place felt
like an eternity but was only about an hour in a half. After that I had to do, and still do at my house,
physical therapy and learn how to walk all over again without any braces, canes, crutches or a walker
to support my knees and keep them from dislocating again. In this painful process I also developed
RSD/CRSP, or Reflux Pain Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome/ Complex Regional Pain Syndrome,
which is when your nerves are hyper sensitive to touch and causes extreme pain. I also developed
Bursitis, which is bursa inflammation or inflammation under the muscle that pushes against the bones
and causes pain as my physical therapist explained it. I am in constant pain but when I think I can t go
any further or I want to give up I look to the Lord and keep faith because I know that God has a plan
for doing this and He wants me to know that He carries me when I can t go any more and teaches me

Forest Fires In North America
All around the world, environments are constantly changing. Forest fires take part in the way our
environment change and although an increase in forest fires in North America can negatively affect
some species, it provides opportunities for many others. Certain species have found ways to adapt and
thrive in forest fires while others need fire for reproductive success. Forest fires also promote diversity
and a healthy ecosystem. The longer term one looks, the more opportunities can be seen for species to
evolve through forest fires. Although many people believe forest fires negatively affect species, forest
fires help to keep a healthy ecosystem and promote diversity. When a forest fire occurs, it kills many
plants and animals. When older plants and animals are killed in a forest fire, it allows the forest to be
reborn again. It gives opportunities for new plants, fungi and other organisms to recolonize the land.
Also, ashes that remain after a fire contain lots of nutrients for incoming trees and other vegetation.
Fires often burn through and destroy the lower branches of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A disease such as a bark beetle infestation can destroy the part of the tree that transfers nutrients
throughout the tree. Forest fires kill these pests and some other infected trees which will give other
healthy trees the opportunity to be nourished by the burned vegetation that contains nutrients. It also
eliminates the number of pests that can infest these trees. Forest fires also allow for new habitats to be
formed. Forest animals take shelter in wildlands, and often can get covered in heavy brush. A fire will
clear all that away and leave room for new shrubs and grasses. When heavy shrubs are removed from
a fire, water supply is increased. This increased water supply can benefit different types of plants and
animals that now inhabit that

Analysis Of The Poem Sharda
POET BIOGRAPHY
Sharda Steel
Date and Place of Birth
Pablo Neruda was Born Ricardo Eliecer Neftali Reyes in Parral, Chile on July the 12th 1904. His
father was a railroad worker while his mother was a teacher who passed shortly after his birth. Neruda
had two half siblings when growing up.
Education
He attended Temuco Boy s School, where he published his first poems at the age of 13 under the name
Pablo Neruda to the daily La Mañana. This was because Neruda wished to hide his poetry from his
father who was not in agreement with Neruda s dream. Pablo Neruda choose this pseudonym as Jan

What I think of this Person
I believe that Pablo Neruda led an extraordinary life. Neruda would ve had an interesting life,
experiencing different ways of life through being a consul and writing poetry to share his experiences.
Although I cannot relate to Pablo Neruda s poetry, it still speaks loudly and conveys a lot of emotion.
Pablo Neruda is a person who would be easily liked as he was an open soul and authored gentle
poetry. POETRY analysis
If you forget me by Pablo Neruda is a poem that has a peaceful and calming aura. My initial thought
when the thought was one of confusion as the poem didn t make complete sense.
If you forget me is based upon the subject of forgetting. This poem was composed to demonstrate that
if you ve forgotten someone, don t worry for they ve already forgotten you. Although, if you find
yourself thinking of them often, then so are they. If thinking of them is a routine, then you should find
them. Neruda has conveyed this message through stanzas four and six.
If suddenly you forget me do not look for me, for I shall already have forgotten you.

flower climbs up to your lips to seek me, ah my love, ah my own, in me all that fire is repeated,

What Role Do Relationships Play In Shaping A Person s...
Identity is a critical aspect of the growth and development in human beings. It is defined as a
condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is; the qualities that distinguish or identify a
person. Identity influenced by relationships is when the people one associates themselves with shape
their identity. Researchers posited that it is important to recognize the process of exploring and
making commitments in interpersonal relationships is four domains: friendship, dating, sex roles, and
recreation. Relationships with friends, parents, and partners help influence an identity in a person.
They each have a specific time where one is more important than the other. Each one shapes the
person s identity, it could be for the better or for the worst. Parents are the first influence that a child

Peers have a major role in shaping a person s identity. Children tend to have a similar identity as their

teen years and that s when peers become a huge influence on shaping the teen s identity. For example
if a persons friends are doing drugs he or she may feel peer pressured. Peer pressure is influence from
members of one s peer group. If his or her friends do good things, for example, pick up trash or treat

Sea Anemone Research Paper
The Dangerous But Not Dangerous Critter
Well you might be thinking how a sea anemone can be dangerous but not dangerous at the same time.
Sea anemone are dangerous but to fish but not to humans. Sea anemone are very interesting critters
with many unique features and other exquisite things.
The colors of the sea anemone can be a variety of colors like a rainbow. They also have a pretty wide
range in size and weight too. The length of the sea anemone ranges from ½ inch to 10 ft. Their weight
range is as light as 0.022lb to 440lbs. 440lbs is about the weight of a small piano.
Sea anemone live in a plentiful amount of oceans. They live in 3 of the 7 oceans of the world. Some
sea anemone love tropical, warm waters the Indian and Pacific ocean, while other sea anemone love

This is called a symbiotic relationship because both animals help each other out. For example, if a
clownfish and sea anemone the clownfish will chase away predators, like a bodyguard, and the sea

food that the clownfish ate. When a sea anemone makes friends with algae it is a little bit different.
The sea anemone will let the algae live in its tentacles and the algae uses photosynthesis to create
sugars for the sea anemone to eat. When a sea anemone and hermit crab become friends the hermit
crab will let the sea anemone get on its back and and move around with it. The sea anemone will scare

How Does Kurt Vonnegut Use Government Control In Harrison...
In the short story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, the future government has attempted to
convince everyone that everything is equal by giving people handicaps. George wears handicaps,
which are earpieces, and weights because he is smart and strong. Hazel is dumb and has no handicaps.
Hazel and George have a son, Harrison Bergeron, who was taken away by handicapper men because
he was smart, strong, tall, cute, and dangerous. Harrison later escaped jail and showed up at the news
studio declaring himself emperor and started pulling off his handicaps. Diana Moon Glampers, the
handicapper general shoots Harrison while he is dancing. Kurt Vonnegut had Harrison Bergeron killed
in the end to show hopelessness in the society by taking away choice, ... Show more content on

He showed that he wanted choice, so he broke in and got shot because the government did not like the
idea of anyone having choice so Diana killed him. Having was unequal so it was not allowed because
of how the government controlled the world. Second of all, by trying to create government control
they tried putting handicaps on people to think they were equal and made it impossible for anyone to
do anything without the risk of going to jail or being killed, because that would be unequal and
everyone thought that they were all actually equal except harrison and he escaped jail and stood up to
the government and ripped off his handicaps and the government shot him to create government
control because he broke the law. Lastly by trying to make everyone average the government used
handicaps to help make the world equal by taking away people s strength and intelligence to make
them average so they can t be better than anyone. But Harrison couldn t be average no matter what
they did to him so they took him to jail and he escaped and was way more intelligent, strong, and
handsomer than the average person so when he escaped the government killed him to keep the

Essay On The Persuader
Imagine being stuck in a house, that felt more like a prison. Working for a dangerous man, where
making one wrong move will get you killed. This quarter, I have been reading The Persuader by Lee
Child. The main character, Jack Reacher, is an ex military cop, now a wandering lone wolf searching
for justice. Two DEA agents approach him with a situation: they had an agent on a case who is now
missing, but they can t open a case with the FBI because of legal issues. They know that Reacher is
adroit in combat and undercover operations, and he accepts their request. Jack Reacher not only wants
to help them but wants to find out why an old enemy that should be dead, may be involved with the
case. While reading Lee Child s The Persuader, I have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Evaluating this style made me realize that his unique writing style made Reacher seem even more like
a real person. Right off the bat, I observed short, quick sentences showing Jack s thoughts. Since he
used to be in the military, he absorbs every little detail around him, predicting all of the possible
outcomes. An example can be shown in this quote: Duke went back to his car. It bounced off the
shoulder and straightened up. I followed him through the two miles. We killed our lights a hundred
yards short of the driveway and made the turn. Took it slow. There was some moonlight. His fast and
almost incomplete thoughts make him seem ready to react at any moment. While making Reacher s
character consistent, Lee Child also demonstrates thorough knowledge about military technology
topics. At one point in the book, Reacher uses an old school code to communicate a secret message to
someone. Also, with each weapon that comes up in the book, Jack Reacher seems to have a deep
understanding of all of them. This adds to making him seem even more like a real character because of
his military background, so he would obviously have to know a lot about guns and other

Jainism And Suicide
The Merriam Webster definition of suicide is the act or an instance of taking one s own life voluntarily
and intentionally; in some religions, this is a ritual act ( Suicide ). Jainism is a religion found
worldwide, with the greatest following in India, that practices Sallekhana: fasting until death. Among
the well known suicide risk factors however, religion is not included. An individual partaking in this
voluntary practice is deeply respected in Jain communities but highly misunderstood by outsiders.
Fasting to death as a religious ritual and other methods of suicide are viewed differently amongst
communities based on the function it serves for them. Supporters of Sallekhana argue that physical
death is the only shared characteristic between suicide and this ritual (Shah 52). Included in the
definition of suicide is any act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only are there several different explanations of afterlife or lack thereof, some deaths have unclear
causes. One can argue that social pressures such as academic pressures to succeed and the pressure to
conform to societal norms are a prominent factor that leads an individual to committing suicide. On
the same note, religion is a social pressure that can be seen as a factor leading Jains to take the
Sallekhana vow. Martin demonstrates this influence when he states that what we are as humans is a
result or product of the concepts and practices in our societies (Martin 27). In Clifford Geertz working
definition of religion, one of the necessary components he emphasizes is religious concepts being
portrayed as reality: the only way to live (Geertz 90). A religious person may acknowledge the
lifestyle differences of others, but it is not seen as the proper way to live. This aspect of religion lends
itself to social constructionism, and explains the conflict that arises with definitions of suicide and

Communication Theories by Werner Joseph Severin Essay
Werner Joseph Severin explored communication theories on a wide range through this book, and as
our lives are based entirely on communication persuasion is used daily in different forms, based on
different theories, aiming at changing our attitudes and directing them towards the desired outcome,
therefore chapter 8 theories of persuasion focused on persuasion. As being exposed to new
information every day and changing our attitudes accordingly persuasion has reached its goal, for
example, if you like something and new information you have been exposed to changed your attitude
towards it, then this is a successful persuasion communication. Persuasion can affect our beliefs as

The research involved a number of variables that are manipulated very carefully to note there effects.
Additionally, according to Hovland attitudes are learned and are changed through the same process of
learning.
The experimental section of the research branch of the war department s information and education
division evaluated studies of films already existing, and had experimental studies where two versions
of the same film were compared, the second type of research set the way for the rest of the attitude
change research. The first task that this section took upon as evaluating the first four films of a series
of films called why we fight , which was designed to motivate American soldiers to fight in the war.
This research became part of the evidence suggesting that strong held attitudes are less likely to
change because of one mass communication message. On the top of that researchers began then to
examine attitude change due to the cognitive process, which means that receivers of the message
actively think about the message and change their attitude. But more recent theories reveal that a
number of variables working together at the same time results in attitude change. furthermore, to
change attitudes there are specific techniques to follow, the first technique is the one sided and two
sided messages, which is basically either presenting one side of the message

Feinberg Court Case
I agree with Feinberg. Criminals who have no or limited ability to perceive their motivations should
be treated differently from a legal standpoint. As a society it is difficult to justify blaming these
criminals for their actions and it is not morally acceptable. I also agree with Feinberg that even if these
people are excused from the legal punishments for actions that it is likely that they should be removed
from society in a different way, especially if there is a large likelihood that they will cause harm. A
case that exemplifies that is Durham V. United States. The argument in this case is that Monte Durham
was convicted of housebreaking and the case that will be quoted is an appeal case in which they are
insisting the conviction is overturned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The jurors should rule someone guilty if they believe that the accused was suffering from a mental
illness at that time and if the accused was suffering from a condition, but the condition did not affect
their actions, then they must be ruled guilty. However, if the accused was suffering from a condition
and the criminal behavior was a product of that condition then, the criminal should be ruled not guilty.
The court s ruling further exemplified some of the points made by Feinberg when it discussed that
jurors should be instructed by a psychiatrist about the mental illness and the effects that the mental
illness had in the specific case, and that the juror s should ask question along the lines of did the
accused know the difference between right and wrong, and did the accused lose the power of will.
These both relate to Feinberg because depending on the answer of the psychiatrist the accused may
have lost their rational ability to understand right and wrong or they may have lost their power of

Does Kraft Foods Portfolio Exhibit Good Strategic Fit
The Nine Cell industry attractiveness/business strength matrix will have the industry attractiveness on
the vertical axis and the competitive strength will be on the horizontal axis ; to the far left corner will
be a large bubble representing U.S. grocery and The U.S. snacks indicating that the U.S. Grocery and
the U.S. snacks have both favorable industry attractiveness and competitive strength and thus warrants
priority attention . In addition the U.S beverage, U.S. cheese and the U.S. convenient meals seem to
huddle in the 3 diagonal cell stretching from the lower left to upper, indicating they merit intermediate
attention by the Kraft incorporation, however these segments of the company can be profitable if the
company can investigate the possibility of improving consumers demand for beverages, cheese and
convenient meals through innovation and by providing the consumers with what they want.
Does Kraft Foods portfolio exhibit good strategic fit? What value chain match ups do you see? In my
opinion, Kraft Food s Inc. has good strategic fit. The profitability trend was upward between 2009 and
2011 fiscal year. The company has strategic created segments that would complement their efforts to
reduce cost through efficient value supplier chain that is interconnected with each segment of the

Three Examples Of Saturated Fats
Lactose intolerance and Fats
What are saturated fat; three examples of saturated fats
These are fat that is made up of atoms that are very dense and the hydrogen atoms fully join with
carbon atoms with no double bonds. This makes the carbon atoms in the fat s molecular structure to be
fully saturated with hydrogen atoms. Three examples of saturated fats are; 1) Butyric acid milk
(especially buffalo, goat, and sheep), butter, Parmesan cheese. 2)Lauric acid coconut oil, palm kernel
oil, laurel oil. 3) Myristic acid nutmeg, coconut oil, palm kernel oil and butterfat. (Wikipedia,2015)
What are unsaturated fats; three examples of saturated fats:
Unsaturated fat is a fatty acid that has one or more double bonds. These double bonds eliminates
hydrogen atom from the molecular fatty acid chain. This makes unsaturated fats unsaturated with
hydrogen atoms. Three examples of unsaturated fats includes: walnuts, olive oil and cashew nuts.

Trans fat are more commonly man made from vegetable oil. The vegetable oil are heated or
hydrogenated to create the trans fat. Three examples of foods that use trans fat are margarine, biscuit
and frozen pizza. (Wikipedia,2015)
Why might food producers add hydrogen atoms to a vegetable oil
They would do this because vegetable oils are unsaturated with hydrogen atoms; by adding hydrogen
atoms to the vegetable oil; it will make the liquid vegetable oils into solid or semi solid fats. This will
make the vegetable oil fat more dense and thus make it more desirable for use in baking. The dense
properties are more desirable for use in baking because of the more wanted texture vs the texture that
would be made with the natural unsaturated vegetable oils. (wikipedia, 2015)

Enzymatic And Biochemical Constraints On The Utilization...
Enzymatic and biochemical constraints on the utilization of terrestrially derived carbon
The problem with using terrestrial derived carbon is not its energy content per se, but rather the
accessibility of the energy contained within this material and the suitability of the biochemical
composition of the resource for synthesis of new biomass in animals. Biological recalcitrance is due to
kinetic, not thermodynamic, limitations. For example, a variety of terrestrial plants have average
energy contents of 19 ± 1 MJ kg 1 (± 1 SD) (Friedl et al., 2005), which is slightly higher than for
proteins and carbohydrates (i.e., 17 MJ kg 1), but considerably less than the average energy content of
fats (38 MJ kg 1) and alcohols (29 MJ kg 1) (Blaxter, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The structural carbon that dominates the tissues of many higher plants is comprised in large part of
lignins and cellulose (Meyers Ishiwatari, 1993). Lignocellulose degradation in terrestrial soil systems
plays a central role in the global carbon budget, but currently the fundamental understanding of the
degradation of these compounds is only rudimentary (Benner et al., 1988; Lynd et al., 2002; Martinez
et al., 2005). Cellulose is the most prevalent component of plant tissue comprising 35 50% of dry
weight, and is generally embedded in a biopolymer structural matrix including hemicelluloses (20
35% of dry wt.) and lignin (5 30% of dry wt.) (Lynd et al., 2002), with other biochemicals such as
carbohydrates, lipids and proteins comprising a much smaller portion of plant tissues (Martinez et al.,
2005). The lignocellulosic component of the plant undergoes self assembly at the site of biosynthesis
and is composed of randomly polymerized polyphenolics intertwined with hemicellulose, resulting in
a hydrophobic crystalline or complex amorphous structure, which protects against biodegradation.
Collectively these physical properties of lignocellulose do not present well defined enzymatic targets,
making it difficult for enzymes to bind to susceptible sites and thereby conferring considerable
resistance to microbial degradation (e.g., Moran Hodson, 1989). These characteristics of higher plant
structural material have been

Comparing Bossypants And Yes Please By Amy Poehler
I have read many books over the course of this school year. Choosing Yes Please by Amy Poehler was
purely based on the fact that in Bossypants, Poehler was mentioned frequently. I was curious about
how one woman would write about the other. However, after reading the novel, I noticed that there are
plenty of similarities between Poehler s book and some of the other books that I have read for this
class. The construction of essays is reminiscent of Sedaris novels Naked and Me Talk Pretty One Day.
And one can t deny the similarity between Tina Fey s Bossypants and Yes Please, which are both
about the women working through their career in comedy and giving advice to people of the world.
Although her book has many elements in common with other ... Show more content on

Bossypants was written to help a woman be successful in today s world, whereas Yes Please is mainly
and simply career advice for those going into acting or a similar occupation. My favorite quote from
her advice that really gives the reader a sense of her writing style comes from her chapter called treat
your career like a bad boyfriend . Your career won t take care of you. It won t call you back or
introduce you to its parents. Your career will openly flirt with other people while you re around... Your
career will blow you off if you call it too much. It s never going to leave its wife. Your career is
f*cking other people and everyone knows it but you (2272). In the same chapter, Poehler complains
about a person who had the audacity to drop a script in her lap while she was sleeping. She then uses
this story to tell her readers that getting into show business really isn t easy and how you have to work
extremely hard to get anywhere. The reality is that most people become famous or get great jobs after
a very, very long tenure of shoveling sh*t and not because they handed their script to someone on the
street (2226). Something that Yes Please s tone has that Bossypants doesn t is how every so often it
feels as though Poehler is writing to a toddler with the way she seems to baby difficult things. Her
preface is titled writing is hard, and she often uses simplistic terms to describe things to readers. For
example, Amy Poehler

Night Elie Wiesel Night Analysis
In the beginning of night we meet a 12 year old jewish boy named Elie. Elie lives in the town of
Sighet he also lives with his parents and two older sisters, I actually find that quite ironic because I

as awkward. Moshe is deported by the hungarians because he was a jew. After several months in
captivity Moshe returns telling stories of how at the Polish border the jews were handed over to the

their ages and occupations to make themselves seem more fit than they really are. After the account
with the guard Elie and his father witness babies being burned in a pit and kids and adults being
burned in a furnace. If I witnessed this I would be very disturbed for months and weeks to come. Elie
has trouble sleeping that night after witnessing all of that and I think I would definitely also have a
hard time sleeping. In the morning they are awoken by a strict guard shortly after this they are run
through a series of barracks where they are shaved, stripped of their clothes and disinfected with
gasoline and then given prison clothes. Elie s father is beaten for asking to use the bathroom by the
kapo. Elie is disturbed how he did nothing to help his father. I would probably do nothing as well
because I would not want to be beaten or killed myself. Finally the prisoners including Elie and his
father are escorted to the camp of Buna. Shortly after arriving prisoners are given a medical exam and

The On The Supreme Highness
Your Supreme Highness, First of all, let me, a plebeian, wholeheartedly congratulate your Highness on
conquering the Six Warring States and unite the entire world. Your achievements can be claimed as
surpassing all rulers before and since. No one, even the legendary Three Sovereigns and Five
Emperors , can have comparable achievements of your Highness. It must be a Mandate of Heaven,
letting your Highness bring the entire world away for the chaotic constant warfares and to a
prosperous and peaceful New World forever. My name is HAN Fei. I am here to humbly self promote
my governing policy with explanations to your Highness, for uniting your new empire and ruling the
world. Please forgive me for me offend or if I have violated any taboos. Like the previous Dynasty,
Zhou, our Great Qin Empire grew up in the West in all aspects, like economic, cultural, military, etc.
However, the once strong Zhou still declined and failed to maintain its mortality. We, the Great Qin,
should learn from the past and avoid recurrence of the past. It was crystal clear that the Zhou had
fallen due to its Hereditary Feudal System . It was at first a success on placating Zhou s meritorious
followers, to make them as kings. However, as generations went on, the relationships between the
central ruler and decedents of the kings became looser and looser. What often happened was that they
fought against each other for more profits and resources. This led to a point where they were

your health when you start smoking and you know it is hard to quit so why do people even start
smoking in the first place? This article captured my interest because I work with a lot of people that
smoke and have been smoking for years and I always wondered what their motivation was to smoke. I
have also always wondered if there were certain triggers that caused them to, crave, a cigarette. I think
learning why people smoke and what dictates when they do it would be informational.

Intelligence-Led Policing Case Study
Intelligence led policing is one of the main global issues and important factor that the police service
are faced with in today s modern society in particular the Queensland Police Service. Intelligence led
policing is explained through a various different sources in literature, which explain the definition and
issues surrounding intelligence led policing, the main fundamental structures that support and make up
intelligence led policing and the role it has played in information communication technologies,
organised crime and transnational organised crime. There is also a link seen between the literature of
intelligence led policing and organisational documents such as annual reports, legislation s and
strategic plans which have been put forwards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the literature tries to define intelligence led policing the Queensland Police service makes no
attempt to define as it is assumed knowledge that every police offer knows what intelligence led
practices are (Ratclifee 2008). This can then create misinterpretation of actions plans as there is no
universal definition by the Queensland police of what intelligence led policing is. Another major
difference is that seen in the literature and the Queensland Police services is the interactions with
external partnerships as stated by Ratcliffe (2003, p.3). Within the documentations provided by the
Queensland Police Service very few mentioned working with external partnerships on the global issue
of intelligence led policing. Most of the documents focused on inside the Queensland police service
while only the Queensland Police Service ICT Resources Strategic Plan 2009 2013 annual report
addressed the issue of working with external stakeholders and intergrading them into the intelligence

There are a lot of things that make a submarine work the biggest thing has to be the pressure hull. It is the most important because when the submarine goes below the water there is lots of pressure pushing in on it. Most submarines have two hulls one on the outside that is waterproof and another on the inside that is much stronger and resistant to immense water pressure (Submarines). Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars David Guterson s novel Snow Falling on Cedars undoubtedly holds high acclaim in its reputable attempt to show the prejudice between the Americans and Japanese after World War II and more importantly the prejudice that is unavoidably apart of human nature. The author of the criticism recognizes and brings to light the things done by Guterson throughout the novel. He refers to the animosity between people brought about by differences, the unwillingness to accept change, and also states that things end in a moral and justified manner. The courthouse as described thought imagery in the novel is seen as protection from the actual storm taking place outside, but in actually goes much deeper to represent protection from the storm that is brewing within the interracial community of San Piedro. The resentment between the cultures has been sheltered and nurtured for so long, but the courthouse can only protect it for so long before it gives way to the storm. The courthouse represents the ideal society where equality exists but is being withered and worn by the storm called prejudice. In reference to the relationship between Hatsue and Ishmael the author states Kabuo s wife is the undying passion of Ishmael Chambers...he can t shake his obsession for Hatsue any more than he can ignore the ghost pains in his nonexistent arm. Aside from the main conflict of prejudice, the conflict between Ishmael and Hatsue s illegitimate relationship is one of the most passion driven arguments in the book. Ishmael becomes so stuck on the fact that Hatsue is the only person he will ever love; he loses sight with reality sometimes and remembers the day he was cut out of Hatsues life just as vividly as the moment his arm was amputated. The magnitude of his emotion towards her becomes ironic and shows his instability. When he becomes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The political terms left and right were devised during the French revolution to describe the seating arrangement in the British parliament. • 9. Interpreting The Matrix through Descartes’s Philosophy Essay Many ancient philosophers, including Plato, explored metaphysics in relation to reality before Descartes s in depth questioning of the subject. However, Descartes s views on mind/body dualism differ greatly from Plato s. As Marleen Rozemond (author of Descartes s Dualism) points out, Plato believes that the body is simply a vessel for the soul to use, while Descartes provides proof that the body and soul are interconnected (172). One does not simply use the other; though they are separate, the mind affects the body and the body affects the mind. Cartesian dualism tells us that although the whole mind seems to be united to the whole body, I recognize that if a foot or arm or any other part of the body is cut off, nothing has thereby been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Descartes states that: Once the foundations of a building are undermined, anything built on them collapses of its own accord; so I will go straight for the basic principles on which all my former beliefs rested. Whatever I have up till now accepted as most true I have acquired either from the senses or through the senses. But from time to time I have found that the senses deceive, and it is prudent never to trust completely those who have deceived us even once. (384) Through questioning the knowledge he had always believed to be true, Descartes comes to realize that many of his basic beliefs were founded on sensual knowledge. This leads him to question his very existence, and eventually to search for unconditional proof of his existence Christopher Falzon, philosophy lecturer and author of Philosophy Goes to the Movies and Philosophy and The Matrix, points out that The Matrix employs Cartesian style skepticism in its attempt to inundate the viewer in this cyber world ( Philosophy and the Matrix 99). This is seen in Neo s choice between the red pill and blue pill in The Matrix, which can be likened to Descartes s employment of the acid test. Neo, a computer hacker, is told that a man named Morpheus can tell him the meaning of the Matrix, a term that Neo has encountered several times. Upon meeting Morpheus, Neo is given a choice: he can take a blue pill which will make him forget about his quest to discover the meaning of the Matrix, or he can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ms. C had also experienced a divorce in her past and though she had effectively dealt with that experience, but found herself identifying with many comments by Ms. R. Through their work together, the two women realized they shared many common interests. They often found themselves talking about these shared interests in their time together and eventually began meeting for coffee after their sessions. Ms. R soon suggested they begin spending additional time together socially and Ms. C agreed. Before long, they became fast friends, spending significant amount of social time together on evenings and weekends, visiting clubs, going to movies or visiting local restaurants. • 11. Acoustic Environment Within Fice Task 1A: Acoustic environment within the office: the office should be a quite tranquil place to allow concentration levels to excel on the workers behalf. This can be created by using things like sound proof glass and insulation and having heavy duty soundproof doors. However I do not believe these actions will be needed as the office block is located in quite a rural and quiet area in itself. However there will be some steps taken to ensure the tranquillity of the offices such as the insulation being sound proof. Another factor would be that the walls must be thick to allow little sound in the office from the surrounding area to allow more concentration. Essentially 35 decibels of sound would be an optimum noise level this is like the same level of acoustics in a library. Things like the printer and the other machines can effect noise levels but keeping them in a separate room can prevent them from becoming a distraction. Also the customers of the shop below could create noise but good insulation will prevent this to a certain degree. Thermal environment within the office: the thermal factors of the office block should be a constant comfortable heat this allows the workers to concentrate a lot better and results in a better work environment. This can be accomplished by underground heating using heated pipes under a carpeted office block. Also insulation will be needed to a high degree which will allow the room to remain at the constant temperature desired I mentioned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Suez Crisis and Sir Antony Eden The Suez Crisis is often cited by some historians as one of the worst historical decisions that imprinted an indelible mark on the then British premier Sir Antony Eden. More often than not the decision by Eden to invade Egypt following a disagreement about nationalization of the Suez Canal is often cited as a the worst foreign policy decision that destroyed Eden political career and humiliated British empire in its wake. The decision by Eden to use military force against Nasser is often viewed by many as arising from a personal grudge towards Nasser, while only a few defend the fact that Eden had attempted to resolve the looming conflict peacefully. A Brief Introduction about Sir Robert Antony Eden It is unfortunate that despite Sir Antony Eden having successfully served as Britain for three decades as a foreign secretary and his subsequent rise to become the British prime minister in 1955 was overshadowed by the 1956 Suez Crisis that saw him tender his resignation after serving approximately 18 months in office. While justifying this action, Eden cited that he was protecting British commercial interests of which the recent nationalization of the Suez Canal by Nasser seemed to threaten. Eden strongly perceived Nasser as a dictator and that his actions could easily be replicated with the actions of Hitler and Mussolini that subsequently ignited World War. • 14. Forest Fires In North America All around the world, environments are constantly changing. Forest fires take part in the way our environment change and although an increase in forest fires in North America can negatively affect some species, it provides opportunities for many others. Certain species have found ways to adapt and thrive in forest fires while others need fire for reproductive success. Forest fires also promote diversity and a healthy ecosystem. The longer term one looks, the more opportunities can be seen for species to evolve through forest fires. Although many people believe forest fires negatively affect species, forest fires help to keep a healthy ecosystem and promote diversity. When a forest fire occurs, it kills many plants and animals. When older plants and animals are killed in a forest fire, it allows the forest to be reborn again. It gives opportunities for new plants, fungi and other organisms to recolonize the land. My initial thought when the thought was one of confusion as the poem didn t make complete sense. If you forget me is based upon the subject of forgetting. This poem was composed to demonstrate that if you ve forgotten someone, don t worry for they ve already forgotten you. Although, if you find yourself thinking of them often, then so are they. If thinking of them is a routine, then you should find them. Neruda has conveyed this message through stanzas four and six. If suddenly you forget me do not look for me, for I shall already have forgotten you. if each day, each hour, you feel that you are destined for me with implacable sweetness, if each day a flower climbs up to your lips to seek me, ah my love, ah my own, in me all that fire is repeated, in ... Researchers posited that it is important to recognize the process of exploring and making commitments in interpersonal relationships is four domains: friendship, dating, sex roles, and recreation. Relationships with friends, parents, and partners help influence an identity in a person. They each have a specific time where one is more important than the other. An example can be shown in this quote: Duke went back to his car. It bounced off the shoulder and straightened up. I followed him through the two miles. We killed our lights a hundred yards short of the driveway and made the turn. Took it slow. There was some moonlight. His fast and almost incomplete thoughts make him seem ready to react at any moment. At one point in the book, Reacher uses an old school code to communicate a secret message to someone. Jainism is a religion found worldwide, with the greatest following in India, that practices Sallekhana: fasting until death. Among the well known suicide risk factors however, religion is not included. An individual partaking in this voluntary practice is deeply respected in Jain communities but highly misunderstood by outsiders. Fasting to death as a religious ritual and other methods of suicide are viewed differently amongst communities based on the function it serves for them. Martin demonstrates this influence when he states that what we are as humans is a result or product of the concepts and practices in our societies (Martin 27). In Clifford Geertz working definition of religion, one of the necessary components he emphasizes is religious concepts being portrayed as reality: the only way to live (Geertz 90). As a society it is difficult to justify blaming these criminals for their actions and it is not morally acceptable. Enzymatic and biochemical constraints on the utilization of terrestrially derived carbon The problem with using terrestrial derived carbon is not its energy content per se, but rather the accessibility of the energy contained within this material and the suitability of the biochemical composition of the resource for synthesis of new biomass in animals. Biological recalcitrance is due to kinetic, not thermodynamic, limitations. For example, a variety of terrestrial plants have average energy contents of 19 ± 1 MJ kg 1 (± 1 SD) (Friedl et al., 2005), which is slightly higher than for proteins and carbohydrates (i.e., 17 MJ kg 1), but considerably less than the average energy content of fats (38 MJ kg 1) and alcohols (29 MJ kg 1) (Blaxter, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The structural carbon that dominates the tissues of many higher plants is comprised in large part of lignins and cellulose (Meyers Ishiwatari, 1993). Lignocellulose degradation in terrestrial soil systems plays a central role in the global carbon budget, but currently the fundamental understanding of the degradation of these compounds is only rudimentary (Benner et al., 1988; Lynd et al., 2002; Martinez et al., 2005). Cellulose is the most prevalent component of plant tissue comprising 35 50% of dry weight, and is generally embedded in a biopolymer structural matrix including hemicelluloses (20 35% of dry wt.) and lignin (5 30% of dry wt.) (Lynd et al., 2002), with other biochemicals such as carbohydrates, lipids and proteins comprising a much smaller portion of plant tissues (Martinez et al., 2005). The lignocellulosic component of the plant undergoes self assembly at the site of biosynthesis and is composed of randomly polymerized polyphenolics intertwined with hemicellulose, resulting in a hydrophobic crystalline or complex amorphous structure, which protects against biodegradation.
