He moved to Karachi some times before Jinnah s birth.[1][14][17] His grandfather, Poonja Gokuldas
Meghji,[18] was a Hindu Bhatia Rajput from Paneli village in Gondal state in Kathiawar. Jinnah s
ancestors were Hindu Rajputs; his grandfather had converted to Islam.[17] Jinnah s family belonged to
the Ismaili Khoja branch of Shi a Islam,[2] though Jinnah later converted to Twelver Khoja Shi a
Islam.[3][6][7]
The first born Jinnah was soon joined by six siblings; three brothers Ahmad Ali, Bunde Ali, and
Rahmat Ali and three sisters Maryam, Fatima and Shireen. Their mother language was Gujarati; in
time they also came to speak Kutchi, Sindhi and English.[19] The proper Muslim names of Mr. Jinnah
and his siblings, unlike those of his father and grandfather, are the consequence of the family s
immigration to the predominantly Muslim state of Sindh.
Jinnah was a restless student and studied at several schools: first at the Sindh Madrasa tul Islam in
Karachi; then briefly at the Gokal Das Tej Primary School in Bombay; and finally at the Christian
Missionary Society High School in Karachi,[13] where, at age sixteen, he passed the matriculation

1960s Discoveries And Technology Essay
Discoveries, Inventions, and Technology
The 1960s was a decade where many Americas found a new life and way of living, it was the time of
the hippies, peace and love. It was also a time where many scientific and medical discoveries where
made, these discoveries have improved our everyday lives up to the date. During the sixties
technology advanced with satellites, video games, the Internet etc. and with these advances they have
changed our life style. Without the advance of the internet imagine how we would be today, nowadays
we use the internet for everything we do.
Some of the first discoveries during 1960s was the first ever successful kidney transplant between non
siblings performed in the state of California. This was a major advancement in history because no
there can be kidney transplant donors, which mean more lives are saved. In 1964, a electrical
simulation was presented to demonstrate a auditory nerve in deaf patients, paving the way for cochlear
implants. Thanks to this invention deaf patients can now get a treatment, unlike hearing aids which
make sounds only louder, cochlear implants replaces the function of the damaged inner ear. In that

How Did The Democritus Make The Atomic Theory
460 BC: Democritus Philosopher
Democritus made the atomic theory widely known, which stated that the universe is composed of two
elements: the atoms and the void in which these atoms exist and move. (More, 1646)
Democritus came up with the theories:
All materials were made up of many invisible particles called ATOMS.
Atoms are not able to be destroyed.
Atoms are solid but invisible to the human eye
Atoms are homogenous.
Atoms differ in size, shape and mass (zandrice, 2010)
1. Solids are made of small, pointy atoms.
2. Liquids are made of large, round atoms.
3. Oils are made of very fine, small atoms that can easily slip past each other

Rutherford s understanding of the atom was that the protons were clustered together in the nucleus.
The nucleus is then surrounded by empty space occupied by electrons. (Lucas Wright, 2001)
1897: James Johnson Thomson
Thomson discovered the electron. He used a cathode ray tube (an electron gun) with a magnet and
discovered that the green beam it emitted was made up of negatively charged particles. Thomson then
determined that these negatively charged electrons needed something positive to balance them out.
(Born, 2014)
From his experiments Thomson established that all electrons are identical and that elements aren t
different because of their electrons but because of how many electrons are present and their formation.
(Lucas Wright, 2001)
Thomson did many experiments and found that the mass of one of these electrons was nearly 2000
times lighter than the element Hydrogen. Thomson then disproved Dalton in stating that atoms cannot
be divided into smaller pieces. (Born,

The Value Of Evaluate Ability Defined By Fornell And...
In discriminant validity methodology proposed by Fornell and Larcker (1981) shows that the value of
square root of AVE should exceed the construct correlations with all other constructs (Table 3). To
measure the internal consistency of the constructs, the values of composite reliability (CR) (Werts et
al., 1974; Raykov, 1997) and Cronbach s alpha is carried out, supposed to be under estimate scale
reliability with the recommended threshold criterion of .70 for both (Nunnally, 1978). The resulted
value of composite reliability lies in between the.81 . 95 and for Cronbach s alpha, the values lie in
between.67 and.97 (Table 2). All these values are computed from a confirmatory factor analysis using

Therefore, the hypotheses H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, and H8 were accepted. Whereas, the resulted value for
perceived environmental behaviour (β= .022; t value= .352; p=.470) and perceived environmental
problem (β= −.011; t value= .704; p=.399) shows negative and insignificant effect on customer
willingness to adoption. Therefore, the hypotheses H6 and H7 were rejected.
5. Discussion and conclusion
This research provides some valuable insight on relationship between environmental aspect and
willingness of consumers to adopt the solar lighting system. The result of the study shows the
differential effect of environment on willingness of adoption of solar lighting system which confirms
the previous studies. A common tendency among rural consumer is to collect the information
regarding a product from friends relative and their neighbours. They rely on their opinion before
purchase the product Positive opinion of neighbours relatives and friends has positive impact in
adaptation of the solar energy. Another reason for the investment in solar lighting system is symbolic
offering a way to demonstrate an ecological lifestyle to neighbours and friends (Palm and Tangvard

Cartierville Urban Analysis
Introduction The area of the city I chose to analyze is located in Cartierville. The specific area spans
about four blocs from Dudemaine street all the way up to Salaberry, it is bordered by Rue Fillion and
St Germain. This block of the borough of Cartierville is mostly residential and suburban but if there
would only be that aspect this paper wouldn t be too interesting. So I decided to go one block over to
Obrien which has more of a commercial side to it. So we can see the shift between the two types of
areas. INITIAL EXPECTATIONS/FIRST IMPRESSIONS At first glance this neighbourhood this
neighbourhood seemed very quiet, very boring. And for the most part this is true. Most of the area

nothing too ugly that you just can t stand to be around. As you approach that corner the apartment

Chicken Wings Mystery Behind
Chicken Wings: The Mystery Behind
Chicken wings are among the top foods consumed by Americans each year. As a country we eat an
average of twenty five billion chicken wings per year, so we can see chicken wings are a food many
people have come to enjoy enjoy just half a century. A Buffalo wing is a chicken wingette or drumette
that is deep fried, unbreaded, and coated in vinegar based cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter. (Wells
Lynch). They have grown in popularity immensely and have now been considered a classic American
food for over half a century now. Although boneless chicken wings are considered to be the most
popular style of wings nowadays and the common flavors of wings have evolved over the years into
new ones such as honey barbeque ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Approximately fifty three years ago on March 4, 1964 Teressa Bellissimo, the owner of The Anchor
Bar, created the very first batch of chicken wings out of necessity. Teressa Bellissimo basically had to
put together the recipe after wrongfully receiving a shipment of wings instead of chicken. By this
time, the wings of the chicken were one of the least desired parts of the chicken. Today, the bar that
still claims to be the home of the original Buffalo wing, and its modern day menu offers up a
purportedly authentic story from the son of the original owners, claiming that his mom made the
wings as a one off late night snack for him and his friends (Thompson). Since chicken wings were
once considered a scrap meat and were really cheap she typically used them in her soups at the bar. On
this particular night she was trying to get rid of her extra chicken wings because she was not going to
be able to make enough soup to use them all up. Therefore, she decided to deep fry the extra wings
that she was not going to use in the soup. Once they were cooked to a crispy golden brown she tossed
them in some hot sauce and served them to the late night customers that were present. That night she
served the wings with a couple celery sticks and a small cup of blue cheese. This traditional side
choice compliments the buffalo wings so well and it stuck. Today this is something that is still carried
on by all restaurants that serve chicken wings. As pointed out previously, chicken wings can come in
different styles such as traditional naked, traditional breaded, and boneless. Yet, The Anchor Bar is
known for creating the naked boneless wing, which has no breading on the outside of the meet. This is
one of the main differences between The Anchor Bar s wings and the wings from John Young s Wing

The Compromise Of 1850
The events of the mid 1800s kept the nation together and pulled it apart because of the Compromise of
1850, the Kansas Nebraska Act, and the Dred Scott Decision. The Compromise of 1850 is the
agreements made in order to admit California into the Union as a free state. These arguments included
allowing the New Mexico and Utah territories to decide whether to allow slavery or not. This would
outlaw the slave trade in Washington D.C. and create a stronger fugitive slave law. Henry Clay, who
created this compromise thought that it would please everyone. The Compromise would admit
California as a free state which would make the North happy, New Mexico and Utah territories could

Dred Scott went to trial to sue for his freedom in 1846, but not until 10 years later his case was
brought. Scott had travelled with his owner to Wisconsin, where slavery was banned by the Missouri
Compromise and when he returned to Missouri, he decided that he wanted to go to court and win his
freedom. Him and his wife, Harriet Scott knew that there was a doctrine in states court called once
free, always free . Once free, always free means that if you were an enslaved person held in a free
territory, then you should be free even in a slave state. Scott argued that his stay in Wisconsin had
made him a free man, connecting to the once free, always free . On March 6, 1857, Chief Justice
Taney delivered the Dred Scott Decision. Many of his fellow justices thought that he would free Dred
Scott, because he had gone on to free his own slaves, but he didn t. Taney argued that slaves were
property and the 5th Amendment says that property can not be taken from people without due process
of law, the fact that Scott was black, therefore not a citizen and could never become one, meant that he
could not sue. The Dred Scott decision delighted slaveholders because the court said no to letting Dred
Scott be free. The court rejected Scott s argument that his stay in Wisconsin has made him a free man,
because the Missouri Compromise was unconstitutional. The ruling had 3 main parts, said Matthew
Pinsker, First, blacks had no rights. Second, slave states no longer had to honor the once free, always
free, and third, congress never should have prohibited slavery in Wisconsin territories or in any
territories. This created a huge firestorm of controversy and ultimately is one of the leading causes of
the civil war, . Him and his wife was freed because Dred Scott s original owner had 2 sons that later
became anti slavery. The 2 sons helped fund for Scott s legal cases for many years,

Mustang Convertible Is No Different
His car stalls in the driveway while he gathers his necessities. It is a simple machine the one of
dreams, an American car for an American kid. Ford has always made exceptional vehicles. The 2001
Mustang convertible is no different. Much like where its name is derived from, it seems to gallop
through town stealing the attention of all who witness the glistening green tint. It is not a statement; it
is not a cry for attention. Simply put: it is youth. Before embarking, the top is set down like the curtain
of a play waiting to burst with art. Setting off with the sun behind his back, he reminds himself that he
will grow old. Following aspirations requires something much more dependable. A man s first car will
simply not do the trick. Another must step in and assume the reigns. Driving effortlessly into the
twilight, he begins to wonder how this car will affect its next owner. That new handler will clench the
door handle with an excitement that can not be measured. The transition into the drivers seat is so
smooth and mesmerizing. He will become a new man. Gripping the coarse steering wheel, the feeling
of euphoria carries him over to the shifter, the sense of power is running through his veins. Shifting
into drive is a pleasure he respects each and every time. Driving down the main strip of town the hair
on the back of his neck, irritated at first by the change in temperature, is now standing in applause of
his decision to take the car for a midnight cruise.

The subculture is an extension from the work of the Chicago School that was conducted by the

The United States And The Arab Countries Essay
of either the capitalist block, led by USA or the Socialist block led by the former USSR. In that global
division of Africa and Arab Countries, both Ethiopia and the Gulf Arab Countries was strong adherent
with the capitalist block. Both enjoyed American and West European political patronage and
protection. Thus imperial Ethiopia and the Gulf Arab Countries were partners against the spread of
socialist and radical political ideas in this part of the world (Hoynes 1993).
Surprisingly, their strong and pro capitalist political alliance did not led to significant involvement of
the rich Gulf Arab Countries in Ethiopian economic development during the rule of Emperor Haile
Sillassie. We are not very sure about the rate of involvement Gulf Arab countries in other African
Countries during the same period. But it is still very curious to know the reasons for complete absence
of GCC Arab Countries investment in the Imperial Ethiopia.
One may assume that the political crisis that erupted after formal abolition of the federal status of
Eritrea in 1962 ignited resentment and anger in the Arab World including the Gulf Arab Countries
(Bahru, 1991). The Eritrean Federal status, prescribed by the UN General Assembly provided that
Arabic would be the second official language Muslims of Eritrea would enjoy full fleshed equality in
both cultural and political terms. Thus the abolition of the Federal status could evoke anger and
frustration in Eritrea and the neighboring Muslim Arab World.

Hotel-Booking Market
PROMOTIONAL CHANNELS
Hotel booking market is heating up its rivalry, as Hotel sales in the U.S. and European online hotel
bookings market are projected to increase by 16 percent to $79 billion next year, from $68 billion in
2012. Travel related inquiries on search engines are now second most searched topics, surpassing
shopping, according to WordStream Inc., a developer of search marketing software. Competitors for
this segment include travel advertisers such as Expedia, TripAdvisor and Orbitz Worldwide. Priceline
is the biggest spender in terms of online ad spending. Priceline, an online booking giant, boosted
annual ad spending to more than $1 billion. The competition strategy over other booking websites like
Expedia and Google have raised questions about the benefits of promoting online versus good old
fashion TV campaigning. Online advertising is preferred method today as it provides consumers a
quick way to compare prices and complete the transaction all in one step. Online channels recently
included social networking services Facebook and Twitter take a majority share of the web advertising
market. Second portion of that share is still spent for ads on search sites. With major decline in money
spent on TV campaigns, Priceline is one of the companies still heavily vested in TV ads and continues
to use that promotion channel to raise brand awareness. Also, in 2013 TripAdvisor, the hotel reviews
site, started to broadcast its first TV advertisement in the US proving that

Las Madres De Plaza De Mayo Essay
The Political Performance of Motherhood: Las Madres de Plaza de Mayo
During the Argentine dictatorship known as the Dirty War (1976 1983), thousands of people were
systematically abducted by the government in order to eliminate all opposition to the regime. These
disappearances, which the dictatorship never admitted to committing, happened across class and age
lines, but most of the kidnapped were young students and blue collar workers. Despite the fact that
associations and meetings of any kind were forbidden, a group of housewife mothers decided to
protest the disappearance of their children. They began to gather every Thursday afternoon at the same

Furthermore, the Madres struggle only makes sense as it relates to their maternal identity: [t]he
kidnappings were brutal assaults [...] against their role as mothers, according to Marysa Navarro.
Suddenly deprived of their children, their lives had lost their meaning (3). The Madres uprising was as
much about recovering their children as it was about regaining their identities.
The success of their movement was only possible thanks to what Taylor calls its highly theatrical (4)
nature. Although the Madres were not impersonating something they were not, they exploited the
stereotypical characteristics of motherhood, particularly when it came to dress, to obtain their goals.
Paradoxically, the highlighting of their status as outsiders in the political system actually allowed them
to enter the system.
In Portillo and Muñoz s documentary, the Madres march in the streets in their trademark white
kerchiefs. But that is not the only visually homogenizing factor present in the hundreds of women,
from all socio economic backgrounds, that are shown in the movie. Most wear conservative skirts and
hold large handbags; many wear eyeglasses. The result is striking: the Madres look old, frail, and
powerless. According to Taylor, this uniform forms part of the carefully constructed image of the
Madres . These women have recount[ed] how they dressed down as dowdy old women and became

acclaimed as a modern day reproduction of HBO s 90 s cult classic, Sex and the City. Both series are
set in the boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn and Manhattan respectively, while revolving around
two sets of all female friend groups, each composed of four intricately sophisticated women in various
stages of their adult life. While both shows successfully highlight the complexity of managing the
nuances of everyday life while juggling personal relationships, Girls and Sex and the City fail
miserably at representing ethnic minorities equally within the diegetic worlds of their show, ultimately
perpetuating racially imbalanced depictions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The white girl issues Carrie Bradshaw of Manhattan faced on the daily weren t relatable to the brown
girl from Queens or the Latina girl from the Bronx. Girls was thought to be a resolution to an
unanswered problem from the past in a new era, yet the show reverted back to the same methods as its
predecessor. Hannah Horvath and her friends only depicted what life was like in New York City for a
very specific group of young women. The question to ask when writing about fictional characters set
in real world settings is this: how will an audience be able to distinguish within the show what is
dramatized fiction versus an observed reality (hooks)? We, as human beings, innately choose to
believe what we see. The more the fictional worlds on television resemble our own, the more likely
we are to accept its creations as our own reality. Television promotes racial stereotypes, racial
stereotype promote racial stigmas. Consequently, television deems racism as the truth. These shows
become a form of a tease to minority female viewers of a life which is seemingly familiar yet too
elusive to be tangibly their own. Carrie and the gang are, but are not us. We seek our identity in others
because we want to see others make the same mistakes and prevail from them, in hopes of following
suit. Hannah and her

Cystic Fibrosis Analysis
To understand the effects that Cystic Fibrosis has, it is important to discuss CFTR synthesis and
trafficking. Mutations in the CFTR results in protein misfolding, causing a defect in cellular
processing and trafficking that targets the protein for degradation and reduces the quantity of CFTR at
the cell surface [56]. In order for the CFTR to function correctly, then it must be synthesized, folded,
and transported to the apical membrane of the cell without problem. The CFTR passes through quality
control systems to get rid of misfolded proteins that would not function properly or that could become
damaged [16]. It is apparent that only 33% of CFTR folds correctly and is allowed to leave the
endoplasmic reticulum [8]. The nucleus is the site ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One system detects defects in the cytosolic parts of the CFTR while the other detects defects within
the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It is apparent that ubiquitylating proteins work with specific
factors in order to detect misfolding. For example, Hsp70 detects mutations in the cytosolic regions of
the CFTR. It is suspected that Hsp70 keeps the CFTR soluble until the E3 ligase CHIP binds with it.
The complex that forms between these two redirects the CFTR to the degradation pathway. Derlin 1 is
involved with detecting defects in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and is involved in the retro
translocation of CFTR from the endoplasmic reticulum so that it can be send to the proteasome for
degradation [20]. If the CFTR protein is folded correctly within the endoplasmic reticulum, then it is
sent to the Golgi apparatus. The coat protein complex II (COPII), which is found within the ER
membrane, helps to maintain the correct CFTR structure and location, conformation, and protein
protein interactions as this occurs. Final processing for the CFTR is carried out within the Golgi, as
the CFTR replaces a mannose enriched side chain with a mature complex oligosaccharide side chain.
After this is completed, the CFTR is moved to the apical membrane where it has a half life of 12 to 24
hours. If a CFTR is functioning poorly within the membrane, then it can be recognized by Hsc70 and

Ponyboy Curtis In The Outsiders
The Outsiders, is a book about love, hate, loss and mistakes. These things are causes for many events.
Over the course of the book the identity of the narrator, Ponyboy Curtis changes. His identity goes
from an outsider in the group of greasers. Most greasers are hoods, criminals and they all have a
specific look. While Pony looks like them, he is different. He grows more like them throughout the
story. At the end it s almost like a repeating cycle. He becomes the kid he use to be again. In the
beginning, of The Outsider Ponyboy was an average kid with good grades and could run really fast.
He wasn t like the other kids in the group of greasers. They robbed gas stations and grocery stores,

inspired to write his story. He is on his way to becoming the person he used to be. An innocent kid at
the top of his class. In the book his very close friend, Johnny speaks his last words, Stay gold,
Ponyboy. Stay gold... The pillow seemed to sink a little, and Johnny died. Earlier in this story we
learned that gold is a way of saying someone is pure and innocent. Johnny didn t want Pony to be a
criminal or anything so he said this to make him act innocent again and it worked. Johnny had hope
that Pony would get over this and he did. In the text Zebra a kid who loves to run gets so injured that
he can t ever run again. In this book, Pony s grades were so bad he thought he should just drop out, he
didn t think they would ever go back up. In Zebra the boy kept hope and was able to run again, One or

America has the ability to make difference in people lives. As said before, people came to the United
States to seeks better lives and more opportunities. I believe the American Dream also means being
equally treated. Equal does not mean we are all the same. We are all different, which is what makes
American the way it is today. We are all human and deserve to be treated as such with dignity and
respect. Although America has a hard time showing that we are all equal, I still believe it is a part of
the American Dream. The United States have run into many brick walls trying to make it seem like all
of us are equal, but it has not been a complete success. Many problems with race and gender is still

as changing their perspective on immigration of foreigners. This change of perspective is due to the

The Epidemic Of Mass Incarceration Essay
Introduction The epidemic of mass incarceration affects many families within the United States. The
problems of mass incarceration have been echoed far and wide, but it was not until recent years that
the issue has been acknowledged, let alone fully addressed. Authors such as MK Asante and Bryan
Stevenson, and filmmakers such as Ava Duvernay, have all discussed mass incarceration and its
common threads such as the collapse of family structures, damage to mental, physical, and communal
health, amongst other lasting impacts. Despite the commonalities, each artist takes on a different
perspective on the issue and presents it in a different light. Essay A MK Asante, in his book Buck: The
Memoir, highlights the devastation of mass incarceration on the family structure and on individuals,
particularly young individuals, who are incarcerated. Asante utilizes an informal tone and jargon the
way in which the penal and justice systems dehumanizes those it is meant to reform. Asante s informal
approach and use of jargon turns the issue of mass incarceration into a conversation that engages
readers. His feelings about the penal system and justice system are spelled out in the form of a
narrative, thus making it easier for the reader to remain engaged. Brian Stevenson focuses on a variety
of factors and their contribution to mass incarceration such as a lack of knowledge about mental health
and the deterioration of one s well being as a result of imprisonment. He utilizes anecdotes

Any form of misrepresentation of the characters, scenery plot can cause a film to plummet and receive
harsh criticism. One can only ask how well adapters are without the guidance of the original author.
Would William Shakespeare be satisfied with the many adaptations of his infamous play Romeo
Juliet? Or would Jane Austen be content with how well Keira Knightley portrayed the eccentricities of
the main character Elizabeth Bennet? These are questions we must ask ourselves when depicting how
well adaptors mimic the original context. One thing that comes into play are the visual texts and the

He states a brief description and allows the reader to imagine the rest. Conan Doyle accentuates the
similarities between Holmes and Moriarty to a great degree. Both are of physically similar types;
Watson describes Holmes on p. 10 of A Study in Scarlet as rather over six feet, and so excessively lean
that he seem[s] to be considerably taller, while in The Final Problem, Holmes himself calls Moriarty
extremely tall and thin (562). With such vague descriptions of characters this allows for the adapter to
have a little fun with their imagination and bring to light their perception of what the characters truly
look like. Stephen Thompson used this to his advantage as he wrote the plot for The Reichenbach Fall

Conformity And Rebellion Essay
The idea of conforming or rebelling to or against, respectively, a person, group, or thing is
subconsciously occurring at all times whether it is known or not. Is the teenage boy going to conform
to the idea of underage drinking once his friend hands him the warm beer? Or perhaps he will push the
beer away in an act of rebelling against the action. Such a simple demonstration creates the realization
that conformity and rebellion constantly occur. Conformity and rebellion play a very active role in

Rebellion is known as the opposition to one in authority or dominance ( Rebellion ). Often when the
term rebellion is mentioned, one may first imagine a group of unwelcoming individuals raising arms
against a group in higher power such as those during the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War
saw the colonists fighting back against the British who the colonists thought ruled unfairly. The
Revolutionary War is an example of violent and confrontational rebellion but rebellion is not limited
to loud and outlandish actions. Rebellion can also apply to subtle, almost unnoticed actions. Such can
be said about those opposed to wearing animal products such as leather and furs. An individual that is
opposed to animal cruelty may rebel against the action of wearing animal products by avoiding them
altogether. As for personal demonstration, I recall being in middle school when a plethora of kids were
playing with the Nintendo Wii, a newly released gaming console. Almost every friend of mine had the
Wii and played it extensively. However, I was not amused by the system and decided that I didn t want
to take part. I then began to rebel by not partaking in playing the game. This example of mine
demonstrates a non aggressive take on rebellion, as I did not raise arms against my friends in an effort

It was horrible because I never thought the person I loved so much would cheat on me with several

Territorial Expansion DBQ
Manifest destiny and territorial expansion divided the United States from 1830 to 1860 through views
on Texas, disagreements regarding whether or not it was justifiable to travel west for land, and how to
handle the war that may have arisen as a result of territorial expansion. There was much division
among Americans regarding what should be done with Texas. Some argued that it should join the
other states so that there could be peace between them and Texas (Document F) and that it would
make the slaves more comfortable by providing them with more land and support (Document C.)
However, others argued that annexing Texas would create a dangerous imbalance of slave and free
states. In Document B, Reverend William Ellery Channing claimed that By annexing Texas, we shall
not only create [slavery] where it does not exist, but breathe new life into it, where its end seemed to
be near. In other words, by including Texas as a free state, slavery would only continue to spread for a
longer amount of time than it would have originally. This would, of course, extend the entire conflict
of whether or not slavery was just. This controversy over Texas greatly divided the states amongst
themselves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Difference Between Endothtermic And Exothermic
The goal of this experiment was to preform a series of reactions to determine the change in
temperature that which would conclude whether the chemical reactions were endothermic or
exothermic. The original hypothesis was that each of the reactions, except for the reaction between
solid magnesium and hydrochloric acid, would be endothermic, and the remainder would be
exothermic. This hypothesis was disproven during laboratory experiments to conclude that each of the
reactions were exothermic except for the reaction between water and ammonium chloride which was
endothermic. In Table 1, the heat of solution data collected from ammonium chloride and sodium
carbonate are indicative of how acid base and dissolution reactions yield certain results. The reaction
between ammonium chloride and water is a dissolution reaction in which ammonia and hydronium is
produced from the breaking of ionic bonds in ammonium chloride from the water. In this reaction, the
breaking of ionic bonds in the reactants released more energy than the formation of new bonds in the
products, thus causing a negative temperature change characteristic of an endothermic reaction. The
reaction between sodium carbonate and water was an acid base reaction in which the water acted as a
base to neutralize the acid, sodium carbonate. The energy that was released in the reactants was less
than that absorbed in the products, causing for a positive temperature change to show an exothermic
reaction. The types of reactions

potential future verification of events or as resources for further research. Two types of data storage
are presented: paper and electronic. The former way is very costly, difficult to manage and even
inefficient, especially when handling massive amounts of data, because it requires a constant human

Furthermore, the hosting companies provide backup and recovery systems to guarantee a high
availability of the stored data. For instance, hosting companies keep redundant data files at different
data centers in diverse regions to secure the stored data even after large scale natural catastrophe
(Wisegeek, 2014). Moreover, the resources, physically, may be extended over multiple servers in
different sites, to which the customer has an easy remote access from any location or system having an
Internet connection. On this account, the online data storage is of benefit to the hosting companies as
well to the costumers. Actually, these companies can establish the data centers in offshore locations
and take advantage of lower installation costs.
In addition to the cost, storage technologies can be distinguished by evaluating some main
characteristics as well as performance, which is the time and the rate at which a piece of data can be
read from or written to the storage medium, and capacity, which denotes how much disk space one or
more storage devices provides (Techterms, 2009). To boost these fundamental characteristics, other
technologies emerged, such as Holographic Data Storage and DNA based Data Storage. The

Animal Welfare In Agriculture
Animal welfare of farm animals is one of the most wicked issues facing America today. The amount of
impact agriculture has on our country makes this issue complex and insolvable. Before tackling this
issue however, it is first important to understand the vicissitudes in how society views animals, the
importance of ideologies and how they impact modern agriculture, and how the agricultural industry
has changed in the last fifty years.
Over the last few decades, public perception of agriculture has shifted, and societal ethics of animal
treatment have changed. Fifty years ago, dogs and cats would never be considered part of the family ,
and treated as so like they are today. Animal welfare was also not on the forefront of the average
American s mind. Socio ethical change such as this, has increased rapidly and it is important to
understand the vital role it plays in the wicked issue of animal welfare in agriculture.
Before delving into societal (social) ethics, it is important to understand the difference between
Ethics1 and Ethics2. Ethics1 (morality) is the set of beliefs that society, individuals, or a subgroup of
society hold about good and bad, right and wrong, justice and injustice, and fairness and unfairness
(Rollin, 2006. pp. 31). Ethics2 on the other hand, is the logical examination, critique, and study of
Ethics1. Dr. Temple Grandin is a prime example of someone who has encroached on both domains.

into slavery. 300 years later, Father Hidalgo began the revolt that would eventually result in Mexico s

the freedom back, thanks to Miguel. Mexicans celebrated this event every year, almost all around the
world to remember how they were struggling in the beginning of the war. September 16th is an
important day to the Mexico, they gather together and celebrate the day as a country. Its like the

As a historical oral epic, the tale of Sundiata tells the reader the story of the creation of the Mali

life of Sundiata up until his final victory over the evil Soros. After this victory, Sundiata

How Did The Democritus Make The Atomic Theory 460 BC: Democritus Philosopher Democritus made the atomic theory widely known, which stated that the universe is composed of two elements: the atoms and the void in which these atoms exist and move. Atoms are solid but invisible to the human eye Atoms are homogenous. Atoms differ in size, shape and mass (zandrice, 2010) 1. Solids are made of small, pointy atoms. 2. As a country we eat an average of twenty five billion chicken wings per year, so we can see chicken wings are a food many people have come to enjoy enjoy just half a century. A Buffalo wing is a chicken wingette or drumette that is deep fried, unbreaded, and coated in vinegar based cayenne pepper hot sauce and butter. (Wells Lynch). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Approximately fifty three years ago on March 4, 1964 Teressa Bellissimo, the owner of The Anchor Bar, created the very first batch of chicken wings out of necessity. Teressa Bellissimo basically had to put together the recipe after wrongfully receiving a shipment of wings instead of chicken. By this time, the wings of the chicken were one of the least desired parts of the chicken. Today, the bar that still claims to be the home of the original Buffalo wing, and its modern day menu offers up a purportedly authentic story from the son of the original owners, claiming that his mom made the wings as a one off late night snack for him and his friends (Thompson). Since chicken wings were once considered a scrap meat and were really cheap she typically used them in her soups at the bar. On this particular night she was trying to get rid of her extra chicken wings because she was not going to be able to make enough soup to use them all up. Therefore, she decided to deep fry the extra wings that she was not going to use in the soup. Once they were cooked to a crispy golden brown she tossed them in some hot sauce and served them to the late night customers that were present. That night she served the wings with a couple celery sticks and a small cup of blue cheese. This traditional side choice compliments the buffalo wings so well and it stuck. Today this is something that is still carried on by all restaurants that serve chicken wings. As pointed out previously, chicken wings can come in different styles such as traditional naked, traditional breaded, and boneless. Yet, The Anchor Bar is known for creating the naked boneless wing, which has no breading on the outside of the meet. Scott had travelled with his owner to Wisconsin, where slavery was banned by the Missouri Compromise and when he returned to Missouri, he decided that he wanted to go to court and win his freedom. Him and his wife, Harriet Scott knew that there was a doctrine in states court called once free, always free . Once free, always free means that if you were an enslaved person held in a free territory, then you should be free even in a slave state. Scott argued that his stay in Wisconsin had made him a free man, connecting to the once free, always free . On March 6, 1857, Chief Justice Taney delivered the Dred Scott Decision. Many of his fellow justices thought that he would free Dred Scott, because he had gone on to free his own slaves, but he didn t. Taney argued that slaves were property and the 5th Amendment says that property can not be taken from people without due process of law, the fact that Scott was black, therefore not a citizen and could never become one, meant that he could not sue. The Dred Scott decision delighted slaveholders because the court said no to letting Dred Scott be free. The court rejected Scott s argument that his stay in Wisconsin has made him a free man, because the Missouri Compromise was unconstitutional. The ruling had 3 main parts, said Matthew Pinsker, First, blacks had no rights. Second, slave states no longer had to honor the once free, always free, and third, congress never should have prohibited slavery in Wisconsin territories or in any territories. This created a huge firestorm of controversy and ultimately is one of the leading causes of the civil war, . Thus imperial Ethiopia and the Gulf Arab Countries were partners against the spread of socialist and radical political ideas in this part of the world (Hoynes 1993). In order for the CFTR to function correctly, then it must be synthesized, folded, and transported to the apical membrane of the cell without problem. The CFTR passes through quality control systems to get rid of misfolded proteins that would not function properly or that could become damaged [16]. It is apparent that only 33% of CFTR folds correctly and is allowed to leave the endoplasmic reticulum [8]. The nucleus is the site ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One system detects defects in the cytosolic parts of the CFTR while the other detects defects within the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It is apparent that ubiquitylating proteins work with specific factors in order to detect misfolding. For example, Hsp70 detects mutations in the cytosolic regions of the CFTR. It is suspected that Hsp70 keeps the CFTR soluble until the E3 ligase CHIP binds with it. The complex that forms between these two redirects the CFTR to the degradation pathway. Derlin 1 is involved with detecting defects in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and is involved in the retro translocation of CFTR from the endoplasmic reticulum so that it can be send to the proteasome for degradation [20]. If the CFTR protein is folded correctly within the endoplasmic reticulum, then it is sent to the Golgi apparatus. The coat protein complex II (COPII), which is found within the ER membrane, helps to maintain the correct CFTR structure and location, conformation, and protein protein interactions as this occurs. Final processing for the CFTR is carried out within the Golgi, as the CFTR replaces a mannose enriched side chain with a mature complex oligosaccharide side chain. After this is completed, the CFTR is moved to the apical membrane where it has a half life of 12 to 24 hours. If a CFTR is functioning poorly within the membrane, then it can be recognized by Hsc70 and then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There was much division among Americans regarding what should be done with Texas. Some argued that it should join the other states so that there could be peace between them and Texas (Document F) and that it would make the slaves more comfortable by providing them with more land and support (Document C.) However, others argued that annexing Texas would create a dangerous imbalance of slave and free states. In Document B, Reverend William Ellery Channing claimed that By annexing Texas, we shall not only create [slavery] where it does not exist, but breathe new life into it, where its end seemed to be near. Difference Between Endothtermic And Exothermic The goal of this experiment was to preform a series of reactions to determine the change in temperature that which would conclude whether the chemical reactions were endothermic or exothermic. The original hypothesis was that each of the reactions, except for the reaction between solid magnesium and hydrochloric acid, would be endothermic, and the remainder would be exothermic. This hypothesis was disproven during laboratory experiments to conclude that each of the reactions were exothermic except for the reaction between water and ammonium chloride which was endothermic. In Table 1, the heat of solution data collected from ammonium chloride and sodium carbonate are indicative of how acid base and dissolution reactions yield certain results. The reaction between ammonium chloride and water is a dissolution reaction in which ammonia and hydronium is produced from the breaking of ionic bonds in ammonium chloride from the water. In this reaction, the breaking of ionic bonds in the reactants released more energy than the formation of new bonds in the products, thus causing a negative temperature change characteristic of an endothermic reaction. The reaction between sodium carbonate and water was an acid base reaction in which the water acted as a base to neutralize the acid, sodium carbonate. The amount of impact agriculture has on our country makes this issue complex and insolvable. Before tackling this issue however, it is first important to understand the vicissitudes in how society views animals, the importance of ideologies and how they impact modern agriculture, and how the agricultural industry has changed in the last fifty years. Over the last few decades, public perception of agriculture has shifted, and societal ethics of animal treatment have changed. Fifty years ago, dogs and cats would never be considered part of the family , and treated as so like they are today. Animal welfare was also not on the forefront of the average American s mind. However, most of the time these epic, fantastic tales have a much deeper purpose for both the storyteller and the audience.
