The Challenges Of Diversity In The Film Industry
Diversity in The Film Industry
There is no questioning the fact that diversity is vital to a community; however, the way the film
industry is makes films is forced and feels as if they are simply checking off boxes to create diversity.
This allows a question to be posed: is no diversity better than forced diversity? This is a question that
comes up a lot in the twenty first century and is something that is asked when looking at film. The
film industry before the twenty first century featured very little diversity, and minorities usually
received supporting roles. Diversity has increased in the twenty first century; however, there is still
room for improvement. One criticism of modern film is the lack of true diversity. People believe that
film has been whitewashed or the historical event and cultural practices have been changed to be more
desireable or more easily understood for white audiences. A mild example can be seen in Aloha which
was released in 2015, where the actors casted for asian and hawaiian role were white. An extreme
example can be seen in Birth of a Nation released in 1915, where white actors donned black face paint
and fought against Ku Klux Klan members that were protecting the Aryan cause. The film industry
has moved away from blatant acts of racism and now see diversity as a way to make more money,
rather than a way to represent all races and cultures. Although in the twenty first century film has more
diversity than films before the twenty first

Summary Of Ernest Hemingway s A Moveable Feast
Life stories are immensely important because they allow us to see different perspectives, and to
understand in more depth the subject and society. These stories enable us to gain more knowledge and
to understand the perspective and values a certain person had, or still has. A great example of this is
Ernest Hemingway s memoir, A Moveable Feast. This memoir allows us to understand Hemingway in
more depth in his younger years, and helps us understand how he wrote and why he wrote. Life stories
Ernest Hemingway is regarded as one of the best American authors of all time. This memoir focusses
on his early career, and his time in Paris. It flows in chronological order, and covers his months in
Paris. Throughout the novel, we meet many notable people such as; F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zelda
Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein and James Joyce. This allows the reader to appreciate the background of
these authors, and recognize what has influenced them within their novels. Hemingway has said many
times that this period in his life affected him, and influenced his future decisions in life. This
demonstrates why we should read life stories, as they can provide insight into the subject.
A memoir is structurally different than an autobiography or biography as it only covers a brief period
in the subject s life, while a biography usually covers the subject s entire life. It focusses on the brief
period when Hemingway and his wife Hadley lived in Paris. They are chronological, and conclude

Inquisitorial System Vs United States Criminal Justice System
The United State Criminal Justice System is entirely different from the French. France system is and
inquisitorial system where part of the court is actively involved in investigating the facts. In the U.S a
judge is essentially a referee in court proceedings, compared to the French system were the judge is
known as the inquisitor who establishes the truth and justice. Judges question witnesses, interrogate
suspects as well as order searches for other investigations. In France they do have the means of the 5th
amendment like the U.S, but you can be compelled to give evidence. French system is based off of
Roman law, which allows the judge to have higher power in order to control investigations and
prosecutions. In the U.S juries are particularly

In addition, the mentoring program will be providing stakeholders the skills and confidence to make
changes towards social justice for URM college students. Accordingly, the evaluation approach that is
most appropriate to use for this evaluation is the participant oriented, transformative participatory
evaluation approach (T PE) (Cousins Whitmore, 1998 Fitzpatrick, Sanders, Worthen, 2011). Research

this program evaluation. A key element of descriptive, time series design is determining a trend or
change over time, which includes collecting information on participant status and attitude (Fitzpatrick,

Pursuit Of Knowledge In Frankenstein
In the gothic novel, Frankenstein, written in 1818, author Mary Shelley tells a blood chilling story of
Victor Frankenstein and his monstrous creation. Many of the main concepts in the Romantic literary
movement are prevalent throughout the novel. Some of these concepts include nature as beauty and
truth, strong personal motivation, and gothicism which inhibits intense emotion and complex
psychology. Victor s monstrous creation can be categorized as a romantic hero because of his
continuous rejection from all forms of society. On the surface level the novel is of suspense and
horror, yet it profoundly aims to highlight the dangers of overstepping the boundaries of ethical
science. Written during an era of vast technological and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Captain Walton documents this story in the perspective of Frankenstein.
Victor Frankenstein grew up in the town of Geneva, Switzerland. Though dampered by his father s
criticism of reading, Victor ambitiously mastered all subjects and dreamed of attending the University
of Ingolstadt. After experiencing a lighting strike on a nearby tree Victor s curiosity for the sciences
grew phenomenoly. Victor meets his dream of attending college in Germany where he meets his best
friend Henry Clerval. For two years Victor undoubtedly impresses his professors and fellow
classmates with his vast knowledge. Yet he is consumed with a desire to discover the secrets of life
thus planning a way to create a human being. After precise planning and the digging up of deceased
bodies in the local cemetery Victor begins to construct his being. Victor is immediately filled with
horror and guilt at the first sight of life in the grotesque monstrous creation. Ashamed Victor flees his
creation leaving the clueless creature to fend for himself. Victor tells no one of the creature. Months
later Victor receives a letter from his father telling him to come home because his younger brother
William has been murdered. As Victor flees home he is bewildered after seeing a glimpse of the
monster in the nearby woods. Immediately he realizes the monster is at fault for William s murder.
However after arriving home he finds that the Frankenstein s servant Justine is being

The Hack-A-Shaq Strategy
The Hack A Shaq is a basketball strategy used in the NBA, which is now drawing attention. Players
that can not shoot free throws are struggling from this problem. Since certain players can not shoot
free throws, the opponent decides to foul the bad free throw shooter on purpose hoping that they will
miss at least one shot and then get the ball back. Now there are many problems that come with the
issue. The players that can t shoot get jumped on all the time. To show the referee, the opponent jumps
on top of the poor free throw shooter. They could get hurt and players want that to change. Also, the
pace of the games become really slow when the strategy is being used. It gets boring for the viewers to
watch the same guy miss more free throws. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Players need to learn how to shoot free throws. A part of the sport is having to shoot the ball into the
hoop. Players need to learn how to shoot a free throw because it s their job. If these bad foul shooters
knew how to shoot free throws, they wouldn t have ever had this problem. These guys get paid
millions of dollars to do their job, so why can t they just learn to shoot a free throw? You can t protect
guys because they can t shoot free throws, Bryant said, via ESPN. You re getting paid a lot of money
to make a damn free throw, dude. I think it sets a bad precedent. I wouldn t change it. (Pollakoff Kobe
joins LeBron, says hack a Shaq rules should remain unchanged). The amazing, legend Kobe Bryant
even agrees, that no changes really need to be made, and that the aspect of shooting free throws needs
to be increased. Yes everyone does have a weakness, but when someone gets paid millions of dollars
to do their job, they should do it right. The D League, which is the league below the NBA, claim that
they do not need any rules because they do not use the strategy much because they do not need to.
Now why would the pros need it and not the amateurs? The commissioner talks about the negative
affect the strategy has on the people that watch the sport. He says that children should learn and learn
to shoot free throws so stuff like this does not happen again and again

Essay About Cinderella
Myths and fairy tales have a way of sending an audience into a whole new world. Things are
happening that would seem crazy in real life. This new world is often something everyone wishes they
could be apart of. It triggers the creative side of the brain, and allows people to use their imagination.
Cinderella is one of the many fairy tales that allows people to be apart of a different world.
According to Per Ankh, Cinderella first came about in Egypt around the first century BC. Rhodopis a
young maiden was born in Greece, but was kidnapped by pirates and carried to Egypt. Rhodopis
became a servant to an old man, where all the other servant girls would taunt her for having golden
curls instead of straight black hair. Because of the taunting, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

is about hope. Anyone who is going through hard times can look at Cinderella and hope that someday
they will be rewarded for enduring and rise (Calero). Cinderella went through both of her parents
dying, her stepmom and sisters treating her like a servant, and yet she still remained loving through it
all. Even though she had all of the odds against her, she beat them. Today, people are always hoping
that times will get easier. Seeing a movie like Cinderella just reminds everyone that sometimes it does

Alexis de Tocqueville s Democracy in America Essay example
Alexis de Tocqueville s visit to the United States in the early part of the nineteenth century prompted
his work Democracy in America, in which he expressed the ability to make democracy work.
Throughout his travels Tocqueville noted that private interest and personal gain motivated the actions
of most Americans, which in turn cultivated a strong sense of individualism. Tocqueville believed that
this individualism would soon sap the virtue of public life (395) and create a despotism of selfishness.
This growth of despotism would be created by citizens becoming too individualistic, and therefore not
bothering to fulfill their civic duties or exercise their freedom. Tocqueville feared that the political
order of America would soon become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
br br Another means by which Tocqueville believes it is possible to contest individualism is to form
associations and write newspapers. He believes that like local governments, associations help people
to realize their dependence on their fellow citizens and take interest in public affairs. It is crucial to
have institutions and civic duties which force people to look beyond their own interests and think
about the problems of the community. As soon as several of the inhabitants of the United States have
taken up an opinion or a feeling which they wish to promote to the world, they look out for mutual
assistance; and as soon as they have found one another out, they combine. From that moment they are
no longer isolated men, but a power seen from afar, whose actions serve for an example and whose
language is listened to (407). Seeing as citizens in democratic societies are independent and weak,
they need to form associations in order to have some influence. By bringing people together, new
thoughts and ideas are circulated with a stronger force behind them. br br Newspapers combat
individualism by allowing numerous readers to be exposed to the same thoughts and ideas. There is a
shared relationship between newspapers and associations: newspapers aid in the formation of
associations, and associations use newspapers as a means of communicating their thoughts and ideas.
When there is a notion shared by many individuals, but not

International Food Festival Sparknotes
The International Food Festival is a graphic novel that was put together by Parvati Nair, Alana
Susbilla, Izabella Gomez, and I. The novel is about an International food festival that takes place in
the united states and to be exactly it takes place in our present day time during Trump s presidency.
The food festival has desserts and dishes from all over the world. The protagonist of the graphic novel
are the international foods who are all nice and respecting of others. While, the antagonist of the
graphic novel are the American foods who believe that they are superior to the international foods.
The international foods stick up to the American foods hate and eventually at the end all of the foods
get eaten. The purpose of the graphic novel was to spread awareness about the amount of racism that
takes place in the United States. The amount of hate crimes in the United States has increased since
the Donald Trump became the president. In general the man representing our whole nation is racist,
homophobic, anti feminist, and much more. The quote get of my country has been thrown around by

in because it is ethically wrong for someone to be treated like that. The pathos appeal can be seen by
asking how the international desserts felt after the American dessert harassed them. The Americans

harassed illegal immigrants and even ripped families apart. Does he not feel any pain or any

Analysis Of Flaming Iguanas By Cormac Mccarthy
Transfiguration of America Through Road Novels Flaming Iguanas by Erika Lopez and The Road by
Cormac McCarthy critiques America, while transgressing heteronormativity and modifying mobility
and identity. Traveling west is an adventure and an opportunity to discover oneself, it is also an
extension to exercise one s freedom. As a woman,Tomato Rodriguez travels across the country to see
his dad in California. Being on the road transgresses the meaning of the road, whilst inventing one s
identity. It is a space to develop a bond that is of mutual respect, sustained by love. In Flaming
Iguanas the road is presented as a means of escape and reassertion. Tomato escapes domestication,
common societal beliefs that are placed on women. As a bisexual, chicano woman on the road she is
transgressing heteronormativity. In previous road novels the road is a place for white hetero men
having an adventure. Tomato exercises her new found identity when she consummates with the
Canadian John, challenging double standards that are placed on women. She writes if you re a woman
traveling alone people will instantly want to kill you , she is not scared to challenge these myths and
exercise her freedom, as a woman on the road (111). As a pioneer in heteronormativity, she has set a
path in which she does not conform to society s ideals, ultimately mending gender norms for others.
The road novels are usually dominated by men and their adventures, causing havoc on everywhere

both Louis and Peter tried to integrate them in the main body of the government hence, preventing

At the beginning of the seventeenth century, Spain possessed the most populous empire in the world,
controlling almost all Africa. To most Europeans, Spain still seemed the greatest power of the age, but
the reality was quite different: the treasury was empty (Spielvogel P 512). A major political
development inspired by growing nationalism was the alliance of small states into two central new
nations: Italy and Germany. Before the second half of the 19th century, Italy was a collection of city
states that were only loosely allied with one another. The German Confederation was created by the
Congress of Vienna in 1815, but it had been controlled by the Austrian and Prussian Empires. In 1848
major rebellions broke out within the confederation, inspired by liberals who envisioned a German
nation ruled by parliamentary government. The revolutions failed, and many liberals fled the country,
but they proved to be an excuse for the Prussian army to invade other parts of the Confederation. The
Prussian military leader was Otto von Bismarck, who subjugated the rebels and declared the beginning

Bilingualism And Aphasia A Theoretical Review
Bilingualism and Aphasia a Theoretical Review Roxanne M. Cazarez Florida State University
Bilingualism in the United States has risen steadily over the past several decades. According to the
U.S. Census Bureau in 2011, 21% of the population reported speaking a language other than English.
The expanding multiculturalism in this country has been compared to a salad bowl that blends
ingredients into a cohesive but distinctive integration. Likewise, the organization of the brain can be
thought of comparatively in that localized parts of the brain have different functions but integrate
when mediating behaviors of the mind. However, speaking two or more languages impacts the way
language and behavior is processed. Research has been conducted to explore dual language
representation and its impact on neural organization after injury. Such research has revealed
neurophysiological differences and recovery patterns in bilinguals with aphasia. The purpose of this
paper is to explain the two main theoretical constructs that explain dual language representation and
the clinical implications to those who are bilingual and have aphasia. It is important to recognize the
neurological differences amongst monolingual and bilingual individuals. In the research community,
many studies have been conducted to investigate the way both groups process language. Cross

No matter how big or small, we as human beings metamorphose in order to survive, both physically
and mentally. This was an important part of President Obama s last State of the Union address, in
which he said, No matter what obstacles our country faces, we, as Americans, must always pave our
way to greatness together. And he s right, as Americans always have. Through the many hardships we
have experienced as a nation, the American people have had to bring forth strength and talents like
never before in order to keep our nation afloat. Adversity does not only expose qualities of
individuals, but also groups of people as a whole. This has also been seen within many civil rights
movements, such as the initial movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In regards to his
movement, Dr. King once said, We have been beaten, lynched, raped, jailed, and murdered, but do you
see us retreating? No... We are stronger than we may have led you to believe. Dr. King and the African
American Civil Rights Movement were literally almost beaten into submission by the white man in
America, but they used the strength they gained from the rage and sadness they felt in order to keep
on. Hardship within movements is especially powerful because it shows the combined strength of
those who went through the same exact persecution or discrimination. Even when these people could
not bring change by themselves, together they were more powerful than any imagined god. This is
what adversity brings forth in people, especially in

Hobby Lobby The Court Reiterated
In Hobby Lobby the Court reiterated its interpretation that a corporation has rights similar to that of an
individual (Citizens United v. FEC), since corporations are composed of individuals, and thus are due
the rights granted in the RFRA. The Court in Hobby Lobby found that providing contraception, and
access to reproductive healthcare, serves the compelling state interest of public health and welfare. In
parallel, this Court found that ensuring that people have coverage by health care providers is a
compelling state interest. Hobby Lobby correctly applied the test of strict scrutiny, and required that
the mandate be the least restrictive means of advancing this compelling government interest. This is
where the mandate failed as applied to Hobby Lobby. The Court found the mandate could not be
applied to private corporations in order to require them to provide reproductive healthcare. In contrast,
in the case at hand, the rule prohibiting multiple spouses as beneficiaries of a health insurance policy
is the least restrictive way to advance a compelling government interest; that being the ability to
provide the public with insurance in order to advance public health and welfare. Therefore, RFRA is
not a basis upon which Mr. Bridges can claim his rights are violated if the insurance does not cover
more than one wife. In conclusion, RFRA is not the basis for requiring health insurance to cover both
Germanotta s and Maraj s claims. Now the Court will decide whether

The Archetype Of Metamorphosis In Tim Burton s Big Fish
In Tim Burton s Big Fish , there is a recurring archetype of metamorphosis. It demonstrates transitions
from innocence to experience, from the Iron Age to the Golden Age; and from season to season. Each
shift plays a big part in the overall development of the film, as well as adding to several characters
dimensions. The shift from innocence to experience is demonstrated throughout William s personal

their truths. In the beginning, he innocently assumes that they are nothing but lies. As his search

In his stories, everything that seemed bad or evil at the time, lead to something good. His path through
the dark woods nearly killed him, yet brought him to Spector, a town of great influence. This

though he would never learn Sandra s name, only small insignificant facts. However, the small facts
he did learnt eventually helped him win her over in the end. These changes were what allowed Edward
to be so successful in all his endeavours. His life as a whole also went through all the seasons. His
happy childhood represented spring. His adulthood became summer, as all his accomplishments were

Harnischfeger Case
1. Describe clearly all of the accounting changes Harnischfeger made in 1984.
In 1984, there was a switch from accelerated to straight line depreciation retroactively. Because of
this, the depreciation expense decreased.
The estimated depreciation lives on certain U.S. plants, machinery and equipment changed. The
economic life of these assets was increased, so the depreciation expense was lowered.
There was an improvement in the minimum pension benefit. This change produced a lower pension
expense.
The was a liquidation of LIFO inventory quantities carried at lower cost compared with the current
cost of their acquisitions. Because of this, COGS decreased.
The accounts receivable were net of allowances for doubtful accounts ... Show more content on

How much did the pre tax income increase as a result of the changed ratio in 1984?
The ratio of the allowance to gross receivables in 1983 is: $6.4 million/$70.1 million*100=9.1%. The
ratio of the allowance to gross receivables in 1984 is: $5.9 million/$93.5 million*100=6.3%
The allowance would have been $8.5 million if they would have had consistency on the ratio from
1983 in 1984. As a result, the pre tax income increase is $2.6 million due to the changed ratio in 1984.
In Millions of US$ 1984 1983
AR Net 87.6 63.7
Allowance for Doubtful accounts 5.9 6.4
AR Gross 93.5 70.1
Allowance for Doubtful accounts ratio 6.3% 9.1%
6. Note 9 indicates that Harnischfeger decreased its R amp;D expense considerably in 1984 relative to
the previous two years. Do you think this change was motivated by business considerations or
accounting considerations? How did this change affect the company s reported profits in 1984?
In 1984, Harnischfeger s reported profits during each of the four quarters, ending the year with a pre
tax operating profit of $5.7 million and a net income after tax and extraordinary credits of $15 million.
So I think that this action was motivated by business considerations, since the accounting practices
were not the best. These actions made profits look positive.

What is pain and how does our pain correlate with our personalities? Is pain considered an existing
factor when determining ones personality? When you ask a close friend or family member what their

cause emotional or physical suffering or discomfort (Merriam Webster). Pain can be considered that of
a heart break which would result in emotional discomfort or a broken bone in which may cause

What Is The Gilded Age Essay
The Gilded Age A successful economy is perhaps the most key ingredient leading to a successful
nation. An economy is a delicate balance of many different conflicting and coexisting elements.
Naturally, an economy s success can often be measured by the amount of wealth it contains, not to
mention the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of its distribution of the wealth. Effective distribution of
wealth is no easy feat. Wealthy and poor people will always need to coexist this is an inescapable
truth. The government s job in many cases becomes that of a referee. Naturally, perfect peace and
harmony between two totally different classes would be a utopia, and probably will never be
completely achieved. A government must, therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The market model of economy, developed by Adam Smith entails a freely flowing economy that
places little or not restriction on occupation allowing individuals utmost rights. America took on an
ethos of a mixed economy of market and command that struck a successful economic equilibrium.
American economy also changes with different periods of history. The Civil War had lit the spark of
industrialization needed to enhance the American economy. Technology advanced by leaps and
bounds and free labor was done away with to make room for Industrialization and Adam Smith s
market model of capitalism. Capitalism was a promoter of the entrepreneur and individual success. It
was only natural that during this time of private interest the gap between rich and poor would be
greatly widened and a state of disorder might arise. Capitalism was a new ideology and drastic labor
problems and social disorder arose because Americans were simply adjusting to (and taking advantage
of) the new system. Although the gap between rich and poor during the late nineteenth and early
twentieth century was unquestionably large, the nation was also prospering through large economic
gains. Although it may have seemed like a nation in which the rich were detached from the poor, the
US was actually harvesting a new breed of self accomplishing individuals. With the end of free labor,
the US had sought a new ideology, and found it in Adam

Rwanda Case Study
In December 2015, the President accepted an offer from People s Republic of China (PRC) of military
training assistance intended to support troops engaged in peacekeeping operations (PKO) and
counterterrorism efforts in Africa. Given that Rwanda ranks fifth in the world, among United Nations
PKO troop contributing countries, and also engaged in counterterrorism efforts in the world, Rwanda
will inevitably benefit from this Chinese assistance package. Therefore, on 22 November 2017, the
National Defence Council will meet to review strategies to engage the PRC on training assistance and
military to military relations. The council will also assess China s assistance and identify areas that
China could support Rwanda Defence Force (RDF). Key ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important factor is that terrorist acts, violent extremism, and radicalization are active in the
region and pose a serious threat. These two endeavors, PKO and counterterrorism require a lot of
resources and commitment. So Rwanda maintains a commitment to the world s peace and security by
contributing peacekeepers to both United Nations (UN) and African union (AU), and to combat
terrorism in the region. However, to maintain the contribution of troops in terms of quantity and
quality in PKO and combating terrorism require significant financial resources that Rwanda does not
have. It is this background, the president accepted the Chinese assistance package to support PKO
commitment and counterterrorism efforts within the region and in the world. However, the assistance
offer should not compromise our national interests: sovereignty, peace and security, as well as national
unity and dignity, values and freedoms, and Rwanda relationship with the United States of America
and European Union countries. Secondly, China s assistance should adhere to Rwanda s Aid Policy
principles stated in Rwanda Aid Policy 2006 document, which align with national priorities, enhance
country ownership, and allow for mutual accountability. Rwanda s objective is to get assistance to
support PKO and counter terrorism efforts. However, the assistance should not recede Rwanda s Aid

Macbeth a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, portrays, how the main character Macbeth,

My Life After The World
Margaret Mead once said: Never believe that a few caring people can t change the world. For, indeed,
that s all who ever have. This quote certainly holds true for me. When I was in elementary school, a
caring man changed my life without knowing it. In second grade, my mother signed me and my little
sister up for ice skating class. For an extremely brief time period, I had visions of becoming a figure
skating prodigy, but they immediately dissipated as soon as I stepped onto the ice. I couldn t take a
step without slipping, but I was terrified of falling. To get to the area of the arena where the class was
taking place, I had to hang onto the side of the wall and slowly push myself sideways.
When class started, the teacher first taught us to skate across the ice by stepping outward with our
skates. Our first task was to skate across the ice arena. I felt like I was two again. I took tiny baby
steps across the ice, afraid to fall. I wasn t sure why I was deathly scared of falling. I was bundled up
in snowpants and a heavy winter coat, so falling wouldn t have hurt much anyway, and it wasn t like
falling was an extremely horrible mistake. But I was afraid to take a big step and fall. In life, I have
never wanted to take big risks. I was always careful not to make a mistake and look like a fool.
I looked ahead. My sister, Grace, was already halfway to the other side of the ice arena. She fell again
and again, but got back up and skated faster with each fall. Every time she

Essay Review of the Band Periphery and Their Album Clear
Periphery Clear Review Periphery is a band well known in the metal community as one of the
pioneers of the djent/progressive metal movement. They have gained a loyal and sizeable fanbase
through their previous two releases, Periphery and Periphery II: This Time It s Personal, as both
albums were very innovative and successful. Clear is Periphery s latest EP, released on 1/28/2014, via
Sumerian Records. This EP is a unique release, and deviates from the standard Periphery releases in
that instead of every Periphery member working on this record together, each member individually
works on one song and the album is basically a collection of these tracks. Periphery has stated that this
release is meant to be experimental, and not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pale Aura is my favorite track off Clear and one of my favorite Periphery songs of all time, as
everything from the vocals, the instrumentals, to the mood of the track are pieced together so well that
it gives me chills. As a whole, there s really not much to complain about the E.P, as each member did a
tremendous job in their respective tracks, and the production work is unbelievably well done. Lyrical
work on Clear is similar to the musicianship on each track: different yet coherent. Although only four
of the tracks have vocals, and the lyrics are all written by different people, each member of Periphery
is so talented that none of the songs portray a drop in lyrical quality. My favorite song lyrically would
have to be Feed the Ground , as the lyrics are so unique yet interesting. Shots fired and I ve got a
fucking reason, To suffocate when the breath leads to treason, cut the ties, collect what s mine, burn
everything to the fucking ground. However, the lyrics on Pale Aura , The Parade of Ashes , and The
Summer Jam are awesome as well, each fitting the mood and atmosphere of the tracks. Overall, Clear
by Periphery is a very impressive album, as we are able to hear each individual member s music style
and understand the band a lot better. Although this is just an experiment for the band, it produced
some of my favorite Periphery tracks of all time such as The Summer Jam , Feed the

Salivary Amylase And Phosphorylase
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to determine the enzyme activity for salivary amylase and
phosphorylase by placing them under different conditions of temperature and enzyme concentration.
An enzyme is a protein that acts as a catalyst to form reaction, and see the activity of the specific
enzyme (Knowles, 1991). One part of the enzyme, salivary amylase, is that alpha amylase is in the
saliva of most animals because this enzyme breaks down starch (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten
Pettersen, 1972). In the presence of starch, this enzyme is present in saliva, but is not present when
there is no starch present (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten Pettersen, 1972). The conditions for salivary
amylase to have a reaction with starch would change in temperature and enzyme concentration, as
well as, monitoring the pH levels (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten Pettersen, 1972). Salivary amylase is
an enzyme is human saliva that helps in digestion of specific substrates, such as starch (Hudman,
Friend, Hartman, Ashton, Catron, 1957). It breaks down starch molecules by splitting maltose from
the non reducing end of a gluten molecule (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten Pettersen, 1972).
Phosphorylase acts on starch and glycogen by breaking it down by breaking the glucose bonds and
taking a glucose molecule off of the structure (Ball, Vialle, Alonso Casajus, Duavillee, Munoz, Baroja
Fernandez, Moran Zorzano, Eydallin, Pozueta Romero, 2006). The conditions for the reaction of

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this experiment is to scrutinize the method of the photolithography
during the wafer processing. There are two parts in this experiment. The first part is to coat the wafer
using resist element with the help of spin coating technique at different spin speed then soft bake it
and then measuring the thickness of the wafer using Ellipsometer to know the resistance formed on
the surface of the wafer. Second we apply the photoresist to the wafer then it is placed in the mask
aligner where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The resist layer is selectively exposed to a form of radiation, such as ultraviolet light, electrons, or x
rays using an exposure tool and mask to effect the desired selective exposure. The patterns in the resist
are formed when the resist is developed so that the areas of resist remaining after development protect
the substrate regions which they cover. Locations from which resist has been removed are subjected to
one or more additive or subtractive processes that transfer the pattern onto the substrate surface.
II. PHOTOLITHOGRAPHY PROCESS:
1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Substrate preparation is intended to improve the adhesion of the
photoresist material to the substrate. This is accomplished by one or more of the following processes:
substrate cleaning to remove contamination dehydration bake to remove water addition of an adhesion
promoter. Figure 1: Example of a typical sequence of lithographic processing steps
2. PHOTORESIST COATING: A thin, uniform coating of photoresist at a specific, well controlled
thickness is accomplished by the seemingly simple process of spin coating. The photoresist, rendered
into a liquid form by dissolving the solid components in a solvent, is poured onto the wafer, which is
then spun on a turntable at a high speed producing the desired film. Photoresist is applied to the center
of the oxidized silicon wafer that is held down by a vacuum chuck.

Fear In Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo (2003) is a very touching animated film about a father s journey to find his son. Marlin,
the father, is known as overprotective and wary of all dangers of the sea. Nemo is his only son, and
after a near death experience, Marlin spends his days mostly confined to his sea anemone home
avoiding all possible dangers of the world. Nemo is a very curious and sheltered fish who wants to
experience the world. When this curiosity gets him kidnapped by a sea diver, Marlin s worst fear is
now his reality. Finding Nemo is a heartwarming tale with a strong theme of facing and conquering
your fears. The first scene in Finding Nemo, the audience sees Marlin and his wife admiring their soon
to be babies when suddenly the scene turns dark. The music in the film stops, along with all sounds of
ocean life. Dark shadows are created in the film to fill the audience with fear and dread. The fish are
then attacked by a larger hungry fish leaving Marlin s wife and all but one of their babies dead. The
fear and sadness is apparent when Marlin sheds a tear whilst holding the quivering egg that would
soon be his son. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The audience is easily able to identify moments during the film where danger is imminent by studying
the patterns. Before every dangerous scene, there is a pause a stop, of all activity going on around the
characters. The makers of the film tried to create a realistic oceanic scene while still adding a little
fantasy as well. Realism is a natural style of acting used to make the movie seem 100% possible and
real in the eyes of the audience, (Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014). The use of underwater sound effects,
fish activity, and bright, scientifically accurate color schemes pulls the audience in and begs them to
stretch their imagination to accept this new reality. Before every scene, all activity ceases, all music
ends, and the colors become dull or even dark

3 main topics to describe the theme of this book. The first main point is the fact that Bilbo Baggins,
who is the main character of the book, is sheltered until Gandalf, a wizard, and his dwarf friends invite
Bilbo on an adventure. The second point, is when Bilbo starts to find his true braveness. He does some
things that bring out and show off how he can be brave and he s not just a cowardly Hobbit. Finally,
the last main point is how Bilbo is wise and trusted among his fellow wizard, and dwarves. In the

belong to Gollum who likes to eat anything he sees. Then Gollum and Bilbo run into each other and

tell from Bilbo s actions that he is getting more and more brave. He does not start to freak out like he
used to when something went wrong but he calms down and breaks down the situation. His excelling
bravery is in turn moving the story due to him being able to adventure just like a dwarf.Bilbo is
getting used to doing some daring things. He pick pocketed a big, scary, hungry troll even though it
could have easily killed him.Bilbo is starting to gain a good reputation among his friends due to his
bravery. Because Bilbo has shown that he can do things other Hobbits can not, he has gained trust and
wisdom from his friendsA example of this wisdom coming into play was when Bilbo and Gollum
were having a riddle battle, and Bilbo ended up tricking Gollum on this on riddle, what have I got in
my pocket! Bilbo ended up winning this battle and did not get eaten(71). Also, Bilbo ends up getting
out of the Misty Mountains by himself and Gandalf was at the end waiting for him for a while because

Euthyphro, By Plato
The book Euthyphro by Plato demonstrates one of the many complex ideas on ethics by the Greek
philosopher, using his teacher Socrates and the theologian Euthyphro. The two intellectuals meet at
the Porch of the King Archon, where both are involved in legal suits. The discussion between the two
begins with Socrates informing Euthyphro of an accusation by another individual, Meletus, calling the
philosopher a poet or maker of gods (pp. 2). After introducing the idea of piety, or holiness, Euthyphro
reveals to Socrates that he is prosecuting his own father for murder. This confuses Socrates, due to the
fact that Euthyphro is prosecuting his father over a murderous slave, and perceives it as impious. The
philosopher praises Euthyphro as a great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the paper Socrates provides sound arguments to the definitions given by Euthyphro, who
believes that he is an expert on the matter, yet ends up leaving without an answer. The dialogue ends
without an explicit answer to the question that has been the basis of the entire conversation; this
provokes the reader to determine whether there is an actual definition as to what is pious. The concept
of pleasing the gods and universal rights/wrongs are explicit examples of supernaturalism and moral
realism. What Socrates aims to teach his colleague is that there is no explicit answer to the question
being asked. If there is an answer, it would be an amalgamation of the aforementioned theories. With a
large majority of the world being religious, the subject matter of the dialogue is still relevant today.
While reading this, I was able to agree with both Socrates and Euthyphro at different times in the
dialogue. Euthyphro s explanations of holiness are what the majority of the public would say today,
however Socrates highlights that piety is something that cannot be explicitly defined. While some
things are unanimously agreed upon as holy deeds, there are some conflicts as to what can be
considered

Rainbow s End Discovery Essay
People have a natural instinct to discover new places, to gain knowledge and ideas. Discoveries can
lead to new worlds, values, and perspectives. These aspects of discovery are thoroughly explored in
the text Rainbow s End by Jane Harrison, Billy Elliot by Stephen Daldry and the door visual text.
Moreover, discoveries can offer new understandings and perceptions about self and others. The
concept of discovery is portrayed through the protagonists Billy and Jackie in the film Billy Elliot
whereas in Rainbow s end, it is through by Gladys and Dolly. The visual text also has deeper meaning
within itself which will be further explored throughout this essay. The film Billy Elliot is directed by
Stephen Daldry and is set in a town called Everington, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The visual text highlights the aspect of discovery can lead to new worlds and also self discovery. The
symbolism of a door wide open demonstrates that discoveries can lead to new places. The use of the
sparkle and the white background near the doorknob implies a sense of surprise and wonder
emphasising that discoveries can be unexpected and positive. The most important part of this visual
text is a male head acting as a border around the door. This implies the aspect of self discovery and
links with discovering leading to new worlds and places. To further explore this idea, the male head is
a symbolism for an individual and it suggests that self discovering of one s strength and skills allows
the individual to discover what he/she likes and succeed. Another key thing is that the door is
contained within the interior of the head more specifically the brain. The brain is where an individual
thinks and understands his personality. As a result, the door replaces the brain meaning the individual
should first know himself, hence self discovery. In conclusion, the visual image utilised a variety of
visual techniques to highlight aspect of self discovery and discoveries leading to new

  • 2. The Challenges Of Diversity In The Film Industry Diversity in The Film Industry There is no questioning the fact that diversity is vital to a community; however, the way the film industry is makes films is forced and feels as if they are simply checking off boxes to create diversity. This allows a question to be posed: is no diversity better than forced diversity? This is a question that comes up a lot in the twenty first century and is something that is asked when looking at film. The film industry before the twenty first century featured very little diversity, and minorities usually received supporting roles. Diversity has increased in the twenty first century; however, there is still room for improvement. One criticism of modern film is the lack of true diversity. People believe that film has been whitewashed or the historical event and cultural practices have been changed to be more desireable or more easily understood for white audiences. A mild example can be seen in Aloha which was released in 2015, where the actors casted for asian and hawaiian role were white. An extreme example can be seen in Birth of a Nation released in 1915, where white actors donned black face paint and fought against Ku Klux Klan members that were protecting the Aryan cause. The film industry has moved away from blatant acts of racism and now see diversity as a way to make more money, rather than a way to represent all races and cultures. Although in the twenty first century film has more diversity than films before the twenty first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Summary Of Ernest Hemingway s A Moveable Feast Life stories are immensely important because they allow us to see different perspectives, and to understand in more depth the subject and society. These stories enable us to gain more knowledge and to understand the perspective and values a certain person had, or still has. A great example of this is Ernest Hemingway s memoir, A Moveable Feast. This memoir allows us to understand Hemingway in more depth in his younger years, and helps us understand how he wrote and why he wrote. Life stories Ernest Hemingway is regarded as one of the best American authors of all time. This memoir focusses on his early career, and his time in Paris. It flows in chronological order, and covers his months in Paris. Throughout the novel, we meet many notable people such as; F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zelda Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein and James Joyce. This allows the reader to appreciate the background of these authors, and recognize what has influenced them within their novels. Hemingway has said many times that this period in his life affected him, and influenced his future decisions in life. This demonstrates why we should read life stories, as they can provide insight into the subject. A memoir is structurally different than an autobiography or biography as it only covers a brief period in the subject s life, while a biography usually covers the subject s entire life. It focusses on the brief period when Hemingway and his wife Hadley lived in Paris. They are chronological, and conclude with There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

France system is and inquisitorial system where part of the court is actively involved in investigating the facts. In the U.S a judge is essentially a referee in court proceedings, compared to the French system were the judge is known as the inquisitor who establishes the truth and justice. In France they do have the means of the 5th amendment like the U.S, but you can be compelled to give evidence. • 10. Alexis de Tocqueville s Democracy in America Essay example Alexis de Tocqueville s visit to the United States in the early part of the nineteenth century prompted his work Democracy in America, in which he expressed the ability to make democracy work. Throughout his travels Tocqueville noted that private interest and personal gain motivated the actions of most Americans, which in turn cultivated a strong sense of individualism. Tocqueville believed that this individualism would soon sap the virtue of public life (395) and create a despotism of selfishness. This growth of despotism would be created by citizens becoming too individualistic, and therefore not bothering to fulfill their civic duties or exercise their freedom. Tocqueville feared that the political order of America would soon become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... br br Another means by which Tocqueville believes it is possible to contest individualism is to form associations and write newspapers. He believes that like local governments, associations help people to realize their dependence on their fellow citizens and take interest in public affairs. It is crucial to have institutions and civic duties which force people to look beyond their own interests and think about the problems of the community. As soon as several of the inhabitants of the United States have taken up an opinion or a feeling which they wish to promote to the world, they look out for mutual assistance; and as soon as they have found one another out, they combine. From that moment they are no longer isolated men, but a power seen from afar, whose actions serve for an example and whose language is listened to (407). Seeing as citizens in democratic societies are independent and weak, they need to form associations in order to have some influence. By bringing people together, new thoughts and ideas are circulated with a stronger force behind them. br br Newspapers combat individualism by allowing numerous readers to be exposed to the same thoughts and ideas. There is a shared relationship between newspapers and associations: newspapers aid in the formation of associations, and associations use newspapers as a means of communicating their thoughts and ideas. Traveling west is an adventure and an opportunity to discover oneself, it is also an extension to exercise one s freedom. As a woman,Tomato Rodriguez travels across the country to see his dad in California. Being on the road transgresses the meaning of the road, whilst inventing one s identity. It is a space to develop a bond that is of mutual respect, sustained by love. In Flaming Iguanas the road is presented as a means of escape and reassertion. Tomato escapes domestication, common societal beliefs that are placed on women. As a bisexual, chicano woman on the road she is transgressing heteronormativity. In previous road novels the road is a place for white hetero men having an adventure. Tomato exercises her new found identity when she consummates with the Canadian John, challenging double standards that are placed on women. She writes if you re a woman traveling alone people will instantly want to kill you , she is not scared to challenge these myths and exercise her freedom, as a woman on the road (111). Louis XIV widened his control over higher and provincial nobility by creating the court of aristocrats and summoning the nobles to take up residence in Versailles. • 17. Hobby Lobby The Court Reiterated In Hobby Lobby the Court reiterated its interpretation that a corporation has rights similar to that of an individual (Citizens United v. FEC), since corporations are composed of individuals, and thus are due the rights granted in the RFRA. The Court in Hobby Lobby found that providing contraception, and access to reproductive healthcare, serves the compelling state interest of public health and welfare. In parallel, this Court found that ensuring that people have coverage by health care providers is a compelling state interest. Hobby Lobby correctly applied the test of strict scrutiny, and required that the mandate be the least restrictive means of advancing this compelling government interest. This is where the mandate failed as applied to Hobby Lobby. The Court found the mandate could not be applied to private corporations in order to require them to provide reproductive healthcare. In contrast, in the case at hand, the rule prohibiting multiple spouses as beneficiaries of a health insurance policy is the least restrictive way to advance a compelling government interest; that being the ability to provide the public with insurance in order to advance public health and welfare. Therefore, RFRA is not a basis upon which Mr. Bridges can claim his rights are violated if the insurance does not cover more than one wife. In conclusion, RFRA is not the basis for requiring health insurance to cover both Germanotta s and Maraj s claims. Now the Court will decide whether ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay Review of the Band Periphery and Their Album Clear Periphery Clear Review Periphery is a band well known in the metal community as one of the pioneers of the djent/progressive metal movement. They have gained a loyal and sizeable fanbase through their previous two releases, Periphery and Periphery II: This Time It s Personal, as both albums were very innovative and successful. Clear is Periphery s latest EP, released on 1/28/2014, via Sumerian Records. This EP is a unique release, and deviates from the standard Periphery releases in that instead of every Periphery member working on this record together, each member individually works on one song and the album is basically a collection of these tracks. Periphery has stated that this release is meant to be experimental, and not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pale Aura is my favorite track off Clear and one of my favorite Periphery songs of all time, as everything from the vocals, the instrumentals, to the mood of the track are pieced together so well that it gives me chills. As a whole, there s really not much to complain about the E.P, as each member did a tremendous job in their respective tracks, and the production work is unbelievably well done. Lyrical work on Clear is similar to the musicianship on each track: different yet coherent. Although only four of the tracks have vocals, and the lyrics are all written by different people, each member of Periphery is so talented that none of the songs portray a drop in lyrical quality. My favorite song lyrically would have to be Feed the Ground , as the lyrics are so unique yet interesting. Shots fired and I ve got a fucking reason, To suffocate when the breath leads to treason, cut the ties, collect what s mine, burn everything to the fucking ground. However, the lyrics on Pale Aura , The Parade of Ashes , and The Summer Jam are awesome as well, each fitting the mood and atmosphere of the tracks. Overall, Clear by Periphery is a very impressive album, as we are able to hear each individual member s music style and understand the band a lot better. Although this is just an experiment for the band, it produced some of my favorite Periphery tracks of all time such as The Summer Jam , Feed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Salivary Amylase And Phosphorylase Introduction The purpose of this experiment was to determine the enzyme activity for salivary amylase and phosphorylase by placing them under different conditions of temperature and enzyme concentration. An enzyme is a protein that acts as a catalyst to form reaction, and see the activity of the specific enzyme (Knowles, 1991). One part of the enzyme, salivary amylase, is that alpha amylase is in the saliva of most animals because this enzyme breaks down starch (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten Pettersen, 1972). In the presence of starch, this enzyme is present in saliva, but is not present when there is no starch present (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten Pettersen, 1972). The conditions for salivary amylase to have a reaction with starch would change in temperature and enzyme concentration, as well as, monitoring the pH levels (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten Pettersen, 1972). Salivary amylase is an enzyme is human saliva that helps in digestion of specific substrates, such as starch (Hudman, Friend, Hartman, Ashton, Catron, 1957). It breaks down starch molecules by splitting maltose from the non reducing end of a gluten molecule (Jacobsen, Melvaer, Hensten Pettersen, 1972). Phosphorylase acts on starch and glycogen by breaking it down by breaking the glucose bonds and taking a glucose molecule off of the structure (Ball, Vialle, Alonso Casajus, Duavillee, Munoz, Baroja Fernandez, Moran Zorzano, Eydallin, Pozueta Romero, 2006). The conditions for the reaction of Phosphorylase and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Method Of The Photolithography During The Wafer Processing EXPERIMENT NUMBER : 03 PHOTOLITHOGRAPHY: RESIST SPIN COATING, SOFT BAKE, PATTERNING (EXPOSURE), POST EXPOSURE BAKE (PEB), DEVELOP AND THICKNESS MEASUREMENTS AMUDHINI RAJENDIRAN 1001362170 SPRING 2017 EE 5343 ABSTRACT: The purpose of this experiment is to scrutinize the method of the photolithography during the wafer processing. There are two parts in this experiment. The first part is to coat the wafer using resist element with the help of spin coating technique at different spin speed then soft bake it and then measuring the thickness of the wafer using Ellipsometer to know the resistance formed on the surface of the wafer. Second we apply the photoresist to the wafer then it is placed in the mask aligner where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The resist layer is selectively exposed to a form of radiation, such as ultraviolet light, electrons, or x rays using an exposure tool and mask to effect the desired selective exposure. The patterns in the resist are formed when the resist is developed so that the areas of resist remaining after development protect the substrate regions which they cover. Locations from which resist has been removed are subjected to one or more additive or subtractive processes that transfer the pattern onto the substrate surface. II. PHOTOLITHOGRAPHY PROCESS: 1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Substrate preparation is intended to improve the adhesion of the photoresist material to the substrate. This is accomplished by one or more of the following processes: substrate cleaning to remove contamination dehydration bake to remove water addition of an adhesion promoter. Figure 1: Example of a typical sequence of lithographic processing steps 2. PHOTORESIST COATING: A thin, uniform coating of photoresist at a specific, well controlled thickness is accomplished by the seemingly simple process of spin coating. The photoresist, rendered into a liquid form by dissolving the solid components in a solvent, is poured onto the wafer, which is then spun on a turntable at a high speed producing the desired film. Photoresist is applied to the center of the oxidized silicon wafer that is held down by a vacuum chuck. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Fear In Finding Nemo Finding Nemo (2003) is a very touching animated film about a father s journey to find his son. Marlin, the father, is known as overprotective and wary of all dangers of the sea. Nemo is a very curious and sheltered fish who wants to experience the world. When this curiosity gets him kidnapped by a sea diver, Marlin s worst fear is now his reality. Finding Nemo is a heartwarming tale with a strong theme of facing and conquering your fears. The first scene in Finding Nemo, the audience sees Marlin and his wife admiring their soon to be babies when suddenly the scene turns dark. The music in the film stops, along with all sounds of ocean life. Dark shadows are created in the film to fill the audience with fear and dread. The fish are then attacked by a larger hungry fish leaving Marlin s wife and all but one of their babies dead. The fear and sadness is apparent when Marlin sheds a tear whilst holding the quivering egg that would soon be his son. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The audience is easily able to identify moments during the film where danger is imminent by studying the patterns. Before every dangerous scene, there is a pause a stop, of all activity going on around the characters. The makers of the film tried to create a realistic oceanic scene while still adding a little fantasy as well. Realism is a natural style of acting used to make the movie seem 100% possible and real in the eyes of the audience, (Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014). The use of underwater sound effects, fish activity, and bright, scientifically accurate color schemes pulls the audience in and begs them to stretch their imagination to accept this new reality. Before every scene, all activity ceases, all music ends, and the colors become dull or even dark ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Euthyphro, By Plato The book Euthyphro by Plato demonstrates one of the many complex ideas on ethics by the Greek philosopher, using his teacher Socrates and the theologian Euthyphro. The two intellectuals meet at the Porch of the King Archon, where both are involved in legal suits. The discussion between the two begins with Socrates informing Euthyphro of an accusation by another individual, Meletus, calling the philosopher a poet or maker of gods (pp. 2). After introducing the idea of piety, or holiness, Euthyphro reveals to Socrates that he is prosecuting his own father for murder. This confuses Socrates, due to the fact that Euthyphro is prosecuting his father over a murderous slave, and perceives it as impious. The philosopher praises Euthyphro as a great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the paper Socrates provides sound arguments to the definitions given by Euthyphro, who believes that he is an expert on the matter, yet ends up leaving without an answer. The dialogue ends without an explicit answer to the question that has been the basis of the entire conversation; this provokes the reader to determine whether there is an actual definition as to what is pious. The concept of pleasing the gods and universal rights/wrongs are explicit examples of supernaturalism and moral realism. What Socrates aims to teach his colleague is that there is no explicit answer to the question being asked. If there is an answer, it would be an amalgamation of the aforementioned theories. With a large majority of the world being religious, the subject matter of the dialogue is still relevant today. While reading this, I was able to agree with both Socrates and Euthyphro at different times in the dialogue. Euthyphro s explanations of holiness are what the majority of the public would say today, however Socrates highlights that piety is something that cannot be explicitly defined. While some things are unanimously agreed upon as holy deeds, there are some conflicts as to what can be considered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These aspects of discovery are thoroughly explored in the text Rainbow s End by Jane Harrison, Billy Elliot by Stephen Daldry and the door visual text. Moreover, discoveries can offer new understandings and perceptions about self and others. The concept of discovery is portrayed through the protagonists Billy and Jackie in the film Billy Elliot whereas in Rainbow s end, it is through by Gladys and Dolly. The visual text also has deeper meaning within itself which will be further explored throughout this essay. The visual text highlights the aspect of discovery can lead to new worlds and also self discovery. The symbolism of a door wide open demonstrates that discoveries can lead to new places. The use of the sparkle and the white background near the doorknob implies a sense of surprise and wonder emphasising that discoveries can be unexpected and positive. The most important part of this visual text is a male head acting as a border around the door. This implies the aspect of self discovery and links with discovering leading to new worlds and places. To further explore this idea, the male head is a symbolism for an individual and it suggests that self discovering of one s strength and skills allows the individual to discover what he/she likes and succeed. Another key thing is that the door is contained within the interior of the head more specifically the brain. The brain is where an individual thinks and understands his personality. As a result, the door replaces the brain meaning the individual should first know himself, hence self discovery. In conclusion, the visual image utilised a variety of visual techniques to highlight aspect of self discovery and discoveries leading to new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
