Women s Unequal Treatment Of Women
Virtually, every known society past and present, women have not been treated as an equal to men.
According to (UN NATIONS WEBSITE DEFINITON OF UNEQUAL TREATMENT of women
CITATION HERE)it is unequal treatment of individuals based on their gender. UN agencies and most
governments agree on the principle of gender inequality. The question at large is what accounts for the
difference between the rhetoric of equality and the reality of inequality? The single aspect of gender
inequality of men and women is that women obtain insufficient pay from their male counterparts in
the workforce. Throughout this paper the reader will recognize the role that the international and
traditional norms that society takes part of in women receiving equal pay. Secondly, this essay will
discuss the patriarchal manifestation within the women wage gap and how it has been resisted by the
government. Lastly, how different strategies are taking place in seeing which areas to obtain equal pay
for women.
The role that international and traditional norms have is that women are paid less than men. Women in
most countries earn on average only 60 to 75 per cent of men s wages (World Bank Gender Data
Portal 2014). On the international scene there are many laws and goals they state that is equal or that
should be equal pay between men and women, however, that does that seem to happen. On average a
woman makes approximately 77 cents on every dollar a man makes. The factors are that women are
more likely to

Iu Fertility Treatment Research Paper
How successful is IUI fertility treatment?
The IUI fertility treatment is the most common infertility procedure suggested by the gynecologists or
fertility doctors for the low sperm count. When a couple is not able to conceive naturally after trying
for a long duration of time they typically visit a fertility doctor who suggests IUI treatment at a
fertility clinic.
Even though it takes only one sperm to fertilize the egg, many sperm dies in the acidic environment of
the female cervix and many are too weak and not able to make the perilous journey to the fallopian
tubes. Among the few sperm that do make it to the correct fallopian tube, only the healthiest sperm is
able to penetrate the egg.
The IUI treatment is a procedure whereby the sperm

Plato And The Euthyphro Dilemma
Siddhanth Goyal
Does morality stem from God? Or does it exist independently of his presence, not subject to arbitrary
decisions? The first discussion over these questions appeared in Plato s Euthyphro, in which Plato
chronicles the proceedings of a highly repetitive argument between Socrates and Euthyphro, a prophet
and holy man, over the nature of piety and holiness. The questions produced in this dialogue have
been expanded to remain relevant even in a modern religious context. It has achieved so much fame
that the core question presented in this dialogue is now known as the Euthyphro Dilemma. In the
dialogue, Socrates presents Euthyphro with a choice, Is what is holy loved by the gods because it is
holy, or is it holy because it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to this theory, there are no moral standards that exist without God s will, and without his
commands, nothing would be right or wrong. God is omnipotent, and therefore, morality itself is
derived from God s nature. Without God, there is no basis for our moral structure and under this, what
is moral is so because God has decreed it as such.
This theory would stress the complete sovereignty of God s will, and the concept that morality exists
based not on reason, or any logical basis, but simply due to the arbitrary nature of God s commands.
This theory proposes that there is no rationale, moral or immoral, behind divine commands, and hence
renders both his commands and morality subject to his whims. On this theory, God could have
commanded, for example, for one to kill an innocent child, and it would have been mandatory for a
person to do it. Abhorrent acts, or ones we would consider as such, are automatically pious, simply
because God has decreed it, though many, including those who might be inclined to side with the this
theory, would agree that they are abhorrent. The theory also rules out the option of assuming that God
is just an agent of morality, not its progenitor, leaving the devotee with a puzzling quandary.
On the other hand, rejecting the divine command theory, and accepting that moral principles exist
independently of divine

Descriptive Essay On Texas Snow
The ground beneath the stiff leaves lies frozen. I hear sound of leaves crackling underneath my thick
boots which each step I take. As I wander aimlessly, the cold, brisk air invades my lungs. I exhale
slowly, I see my shaky breath float away from me. The scenery is nothing special, black trees covered
in moss, very few hills, rocks in no set trail, and above all else, endless layers of Texas snow (not
really snow, just an ice layer maybe 1/3 of an inch). I walk with a cold firearm in my hands and a
knife hung on my belt with no intention to use either. Before I was left on the far East side of the 78

Australian Car Manufacturing Industry Comes to an End
Introduction
It is believed that the Australian car manufacturing industry has come to an end. The following essay
will argue that the government should not provide finances to save the automotive manufacturing
industry. There is a continuous debate between the shareholders of the automotive businesses and the
Australian citizens on what should be done with this issue. In order to determine the strength of the
argument, the following essay will completely analyze relevant information; examine the affects of
moving production to overseas, why production is being moved? Take a look at who is to blame and
what the media says should be done?
The car manufacturing industry is a large enterprise and supplies employment for more than 45,000
people and indirectly employs nearly 200,000 (Cassin, 2013). However it is believed that the
Australian government should not provide funds to the car manufactures, Australia cannot compete
with the larger automotive manufacturing countries. The statistics of 2013 show that, 1.13 million cars
were sold, out of that figure just over 100,000 were purchased locally made. This tells us that less than
10% of Australian s actually bought an Australian manufactured car (Smith, 2014). If we aren t going
to buy them who will?
Affects of moving production?
It is assumed that the Australian car production industry employs more than 200,000 jobs indirectly
(Cassin, 2013). Therefore moving production overseas will cut a massive hole in the employment

American Immigration In The Late 1800s
From the time when the European crisis started, the migration to the Americas has increased. Among
all the countries in the American continent, United States is the one that has received more immigrants
since the sixteenth century until the mid twentieth century. Since then, the most of immigrants are
Latin especially from Mexico. In 2013, around 41.3 million immigrants lived in the United States.
They represent 13 % of the total 316 million U.S. residents. If added the U.S. born children of
immigrants they increase to around 80 million people (Migration Information Source). Thus, it is how
started and continued the immigration in the U.S.

Hemp Oil Persuasive Essay
Derived from the buds of the hemp plant, hemp oil, like its cousin cannabis oil, has been touted as
having strong medicinal value in treating a number of ailments. Hemp oil has been described as a
miracle product because of its effectiveness in treating conditions such as cancer, depression, diabetes,
anxiety, and pain, among other conditions, when traditional pharmaceutical drugs have failed. Some
call it the natural chemotherapy for all cancer patients. Rigorous scientific cannabis testing has not
been done in the U.S, largely because both marijuana and hemp are classified as Schedule 1 drugs by
the U.S Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Regardless, evidence of successful treatment and
desperation to find a treatment that work, has compelled thousands of patients to gamble with medical
marijuana and hemp oil treatments. Hemp oil treatment for cancer has gained some attention, but if a
patient is convinced that this alternative treatment is the next best option, such a decision should be ...

Development Of Definitions Of Organizational Culture And...
2. Literature Review
The purpose of this chapter is to make readers comprehend the development of definitions of
organizational culture and project management in different dimensions. And within the content of
project management, the criteria of the success of project management will be demonstrated.
Furthermore, the previous studies about the relationship between organizational culture and the
success of project management will be referred to. Eventually, some problems unanswered on this
filed or some gaps that missed by former studies will be indicated.
2.1 Organizational Culture
A well known fact that organizational culture is hard to define because of its complexity, and it seems
that most of existing definitions are general and macroscopic. For example, organizational culture
supplies members of organization with principles of behaviors with the help of essential, common
values in the organization, and these principles are usually approved and accepted by internal
members (Baird et al. 2007; Chatman Jehn, 1994; Deshpandé Webster, 1989; Narver Slater, 1998; as
cited in Cynthia Webster Allyn White, 2010). And organizational culture means correspondingly fixed
faiths, manners and norms that are agreed by organizational members commonly (Williams, Dobson
Walters, 1993; as cited in Catherine T. Kwantes Cheryl A. Boglarsky, 2007). Organizational culture is
also defined as shared normative beliefs and shared behavioural expectations or a particular set of

Lethal Injection Of Capital Punishment In The United States
Introduction:
Capital Punishment is usually reserved for the country s most vicious and non rehabilitatable
murderers. These men and women actually will know the day they die; albeit not naturally. These
Inmates will be put to death by a U.S. state, the federal government, or the U.S. military. The most
common method of execution is lethal injection. Lethal injection is used in some states in conjunction
with the less popular hanging, electrocution, lethal gas, and shooting squad methods. But, in recent
times these antiquated methods are used as a backup in case of shortage of the drugs required for
lethal injection. Large pharmaceutical companies, such as Pfizer, have no longer been selling their

War In Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried
Going to war is scary and sometimes traumatizing. It can affect men and woman for several of years
afterwards, even until death. You cannot just erase what these men and woman have witnessed and
been through. These brave souls have to carry the embarrassment, the shame, and the guilt with them

Men and woman carry an extra 100 150 pounds on their back. They carry jackets, pants, grenades,
guns, personal items, etc. But where it weighs the most is up top. The emotional baggage they carry is
heavier than the extra weight on their backs. Soldiers have to deal with the embarrassment, and the
shame and guilt they felt inside. After Ted Lavender was shot dead, Jimmy Cross felt shame, and he
hated himself. He had been focusing on someone who wasn t there with him, someone who didn t

in consequence Lavender was no longer there and he had to carry the burden of his death. They

Bay Of Fundy
In the Bay of Fundy the incoming tidal waters can overpower the flow of estuaries and rivers. This
extraordinary phenomenon is known as a tidal bore and occurs twice daily. At high tide, a massive
volume of seawater floods out of the Bay of Fundy into the rivers which feed it. The narrowing
riverbanks force the soaring waters in a amazing surge and often a visible standing wave, in some
cases 1 meter (3 feet) tall! In addition, 3 to 3.5 meters (10 12 feet) high rapids are generated in the
wake of the roaring and swirling tidal water as it charges upstream at speeds near 15 kilometers per

In the thirty years after the War of 1812, the United States gradually and painstakingly developed its

seemingly common standards of training, doctrine, and, arguably, discipline. Referred to as the Thirty

Correspondently, Martin Dugard addressed this theme in his less scholarly narrative, The Training
Ground: Grant, Lee, Sherman, and Davis in the Mexican War, 1846 1848 (2009).[footnoteRef:6]
Similar to Alfred H. Bill s Rehearsal for Conflict: The War with Mexico, 1846 1848 (1969),
Dougherty and Dugard suggested that military officers of the U.S. Civil War that cut their teeth in the
Mexican American War. While this correlation is well demonstrated, this treatment is particular useful
when examining the Second Seminole War in relation to the development of the Regular Army in the
19th century. The Second Seminole War transcended the other Indian Wars in the antebellum period in
scale, duration, and complexity. Moreover, it was the testing ground for the internal developments and
regulations of the United States Regular Army and its involvement beyond its borders. Historians
recognize the Mexican American War as a proving ground for the Regular Army on the eve of the U.S.
Civil War a prologue of sorts but overlook the significance of the Second Seminole War on the Army s
ascension. The regulations and structure developed by the Quartermaster Department during the post
War of 1812 reforms were tested during the Second Seminole War, which further guided the
development of strategies relating to supplying the United States Army during the Mexican American
War. An exploration into the correlation of the experiences of Quartermaster Department during in the
Second Seminole War and Mexican American War remains uncharted territory and is overdue for
study. [6: Martin Dugard, The Training Ground: Grant, Lee, Sherman, and Davis in the

The European Union, A Common Currency, The Brexit, And The...
Introduction
The European Union was formed with many expectations. Despite closeness and similarities, the
various nations of the European continent fought bitter wars for thousands of years within themselves.
After the devastating World War II, finally everyone saw the light and decided to give a chance to a
peaceful coexistence. However, the EU s path has not been smooth. Many critical economic as well as
political problems have emerged throughout the last decade, raising questions about its credibility.
Two primary questions need to be explored here,
1. What are the most serious challenges in front of the EU at present?
2. How are these problems going to affect the credibility of the EU?
In this essay, I argue that the EU has failed, given the controversial issues that arise at present, namely
viability of the Euro as a common currency, the Brexit, and the migrant crisis from the Middle East.
Euro as a Common Currency
The viability of Euro as a common currency here will explicate the financial crisis in the Eurozone
countries to prove that the EU has failed. Before World War II, doing trade across borders is difficult.
Countries need to pay a fee to exchange currencies, before a tariff fee is then executed when trade
between companies of two different countries are involved. This eventually had stifled the economic
growth. After WWII has ended, the situation among the European countries is so dire that they have to
call for a unification process in order to hasten the

Analysis Of Erich Maria RemarqueAll Quiet On The Western...
All Quiet on the Western Front Essay
With WWI came a generation of young men that were lost forever, regardless if they exited in a
coffin. In Erich Maria Remarque s landmark novel All Quiet on the Western Front , he illustrates the
everyday hell soldier s face fishing in the battlefields of WWI. The novel, Paul Baumer, is a foot
soldier fighting for the German army; he shares a first hand account of the war s atrocities on himself
and his comrades in arms. In the novel, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, the
author reveals the horrifying yet calmness between the main characters of the story, and his
relationship to the first industrialized war between Germany and others through the use of a variety of
literary elements to emphasize the impact of the war on young men as well as employing imagery to
appeal to the readers senses to illustrate how the war changed boys into men of the lost generation.
Erich Maria Remarque utilizes morbid imagery in order to teach readers how is war is vile and putrid.
Early on the soldiers get acquainted to sounds of war when ear piercing screams come from fatally
wounded horses that fell victim to enemy artillery fire. The author creates this imagery But this
appalling noise, these groans and screams penetrate, they penetrate everywhere. (Remarque 62)
Remarque creates a noise that can t be forgotten and really displays the effect it has on the soldiers
even after the horses have perished. Another example of imagery is

Aestheticism In Wilde s Lady Gertrude Chiltern
Lady Gertrude Chiltern Correspondingly, Wilde utilises Aestheticism to characterise Lady Gertrude
Chiltern dissimilar to Lord Goring and Mrs Cheveley and as a touchstone of moral stability (Bose,
1999) to indicate her restraints towards the model upper class standards. Hence, Wilde undermines the
Victorian English notions, particularly of marriage, as exaggeratingly hypocritical and non naturalistic
(HornychovĂĄ, 2010) as it led to Lady Chiltern s disillusion and disappointment from her morally rigid
admiration towards her husband s façade. Consequently, Wildes creates dramatic irony into Lady
Chiltern s dialogue and develops her distaste towards Mrs Cheveley. Primarily through dramatic irony
established from Lady Chiltern s prudent dialogue, Wilde depicts her stagnant pride highly tuned from
societal conventions to dramatise the hypocrisy of Victorian English strictures as it negatively impacts
the relationship between Lady Chiltern and Sir Chiltern. In Act 1 Scene 6, Sir Chiltern hints at his
pastime indiscretions to observe Lady Chiltern s reaction where her replying dialogue stresses that one
s past is what one is and that would be the only way people should be judged (1.6) and thus ironically
conveys her Victorian English morality when the audience already have knowledge about Sir Chiltern
s political misdemeanours. This is further noted in her dialogue where she will love him always (1.6)

Value Of American Culture Essay
Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck advocate that cultures mature into different states depending on their value
orientations. These orientations involve human s relationships with nature, time, motive, human
behavior, and other humans. Most cultures develop by putting their value into some aspects of these
orientations over others. An example, Americans put value into nature and their relation to God. When
only comparing the world s industrialized nations, America is known for having a higher percentage
of citizens that believe in God. Thus, this illustrates how America has been shaped by this orientation.
In my experience, I have seen a few of these orientations at work affecting myself and the football
team. When I look back, I can understand the orientations better. Our team was always worried about
time and how to use it properly. The individuals that made up the team had to set aside some of their
personal principles to make the team better as a whole, as well as, push themselves to act and become
improved. The achievement of doing so would give the entire team determination to continue and
follow suit. While training, we would visit the past and future to study from our past mistakes and

Realism In The Picture Of Dorian Gray
Wilde combines both the ornamental and the natural elements of the definition of aestheticism here by
describing both the Persian saddle bags and honey coloured blossoms. The set description is so
enamoring that one could almost miss Lord Henry Wotton, instead engaging their imagination in the
appreciation of the objects around him. The descriptions are so elegantly articulated by Wilde that they
can only be imagined through their beauty alone; one would not imagine plain tables and chairs while
reading this, and the descriptions are certainly not modest as George Eliot describes in her definition
of realism. This also eliminates any need for a collective spectacle; the objects simply are what they
are. The entertaining language that Wilde uses in his descriptions work in satisfying his argument for
aestheticism. Wilde also spends a lot of his time making the characters in The Picture of Dorian Gray
aesthetic focused. For Wilde, the only character who gives in to the idea of realism is Basil Hallward
by putting far too much of himself into his own painting. Basil is the physical characterization of
Wilde s criticism of artists in his preface; he does not conceal the artist when creating Dorian s
portrait. Basil even claims that the real Dorian is the painting and not the living Dorian standing
before him, saying I shall stay with the real Dorian when prompted to attend the theatre with Dorian
and Henry Wotton (Wilde 28). Since the real Dorian is not to

St. Paul Cathedral
Introduction: This semester my paper will be discussing Christopher Wren s building St. Paul s
Cathedral , and why St. Paul s Cathedral is considered to be the most important and famous
masterpiece of England s architecture? The St. Paul Cathedral of Sir Christopher Wren was chosen
because it is famously interpreted in the baroque style in England, and dominated English architecture.
St. Paul s cathedral is one of the most famous important building because it was built on an earlier
church that was severely damaged in the Great Fire of London. It is considered as one of the best
symbol of English baroque architecture . It was rebuilt and designed by Christopher Wren, who also
rebuilt over fifty churches that were damaged in Great Fire of London. It is one of the tallest buildings
of London. St. Paul s is the most brilliant building that I ve heard that it was done by a acclaimed artist
in London after it was destroyed, and rebuild again.
Concession: Looking at the most ten famous building in London none of them will take your attention
as St. Paul Cathedral that took forty years to build after it was destroyed. Also, it was designed and
built by one of the most famous English architects in the history Sir Christopher Wren . It is said to be
at the highest point of the city London. Its dome is elegant as framed by the spires of Wren s city
churches.

The Use of Distortion as a Literary Device in George...
Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is an excellent example of distortion as a literary device. The story is
set up as a fable using a third person objective viewpoint and personification of animals to represent
historical figures and stereotypes. Distortion can also be found in much of the symbolism throughout
the novel. Similar to a fable, Animal Farm makes use of personification. In the story, farm animals are
used to represent different classes of people, from the average working man to government officials
and police or military personnel. This element of the novel goes deeper, when the pigs on the farm
begin to resemble historical figures such as Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky, of Russia. Through
distortion of character, Orwell brings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This brings the reader to the level of the working class animals and instills a sense of uncertainty and
disillusionment that is felt by most of the characters in the story. In the beginning, the animals are
excited by Major s talk of rebellion against Mr. Jones and through Orwell s objective point of view,
the same feeling of insurrection is passed on to the audience. As the pigs weave an intricate web of
lies and scandal, the reader gets the sense that not all is well in the same way the animals do. The
difference between the animals and ourselves lies in intelligence. The author deliberately makes the
characters dumber than the average person, allowing us to see through the deception of the pigs,
without the use of a third person omniscient viewpoint. Symbolically, Animal Farm itself is supposed
to represent Russia and the Soviet Union under Communist control. The farm in today s world, being
a small, self sustaining entity may relate to current conditions in North Korea. It seems that Kim Jong
il, like the pigs, is much more equal than his subjects. Kim and Napoleon seem to share the paranoia
of being attacked by more powerful rivals, and both it seems, have a desire to keep their respective
nations in the dark. Perhaps less specifically, the farm could represent human society as a whole. As
mentioned earlier, the characters display an entire spectrum of human classes and stereotypical
personalities.
The way the pigs altered the seven commandments

The Characteristics And Differences Between Radio And Radio
1. The skills one needs to be a radio listener, are more sophisticated then the skills one would use to
understand and interpret a television program. When listening to the radio, one has to be an active
listener. It requires you to pay more attention as the information is being processed solely through
auditory stimulation. This is unlike watching television which provides both auditory and visual
stimulation. Personally, when listening to Orson Welles War of the Worlds from October 30th 1938, I
found myself more easily distracted comparing to when watching a television program or news story.
It is much easier to pay attention to the later. Moreover, listening to the radio requires a person to use
their own imagination more vividly. The audience has to take in what is being described and create
their own personal picture of the event. Television seems to give us a more realistic understanding of
what it is news anchor is talking about as the consumers can be shown pictures or film footage of the
event being discussed. This add to the audience s view of the incident in its entirety. On the radio, the
news broadcasters have to be more descriptive when describing the currents events as their
descriptions are the sole foundation that the listener s imagination will be based on. It is only through
their description that the listener will get an understanding of whatever is being discussed. The radio
host must therefore put in more detail than a television host. As expected, a

Examples Of Ambiguity In Hamlet
Hamlet s sanity has an ambiguity that is tested in several lines in Hamlet by Shakespeare Act 3 scene
4. As he confronts his mother, she takes him for a serious and angry state of mind. Throughout acts 1,2
and 3; Hamlet deals with his father s death and the state of his family relationship bitterly. The ghost
that he sees tells him to commit an essentially evil deed, but is coated with the incentive to avenge his
father. The ambiguity of ghost s existence is explored by other characters not part of the immediate
family to have witnessed it. However Hamlet s encounter loses credibility as he considers whether tis

Sources of Stress Experienced by International Students...
As the world becomes increasingly globalized and interconnected, there is an imperative need for
every student in this generation to be exposed and to be prepared for this rapidly changing world.
Globalization sets the platform for a competitive environment, which challenges a country to increase
their level of efficiency, promote innovation, and improve its overall standard of living. One of the
ways that value added learning could be incorporated in students learning is through the dissemination
of a rich multicultural classroom, whereby local students are interacting, exchanging knowledge, and
building quality relationships with international students. However, this requires foreign students to
travel or migrate to another country differing from their own for the purpose of furthering their
education and/or other personal reasons such as seeking a better quality of life, searching to advance
their career/life opportunities, or just simply looking for a change in their environment. Although cross
cultural interaction is highly valuable, relocating to a new country and being isolated from relatives
and friends can be a source of stress, anxiety, and confusion to international students, which can
induce a real challenge to them for studying in another country such as the United States. This
extensive qualitative research will identify sources of stress generally experienced by international
college students living in the United States and their coping and adjustment

These changes are expected to have considerable impacts on human health. Mounting evidence
suggests current and future effects on human health, including injuries and illnesses from severe

waterborne diseases; and threats to food and water supplies. Indirect effects may include anxiety and
depression and the consequences of mass migration and regional conflicts. Addressing these

The Approach At High Level
DevOps has been a buzzword for a while now in the tech industry, with many organizations joining
the bandwagon and working towards embracing the DevOps practices. Wiki describes Devops as a
practice that emphasizes the collaboration and communication of the IT professionals across the value
chain while automating the process of software delivery and infrastructure changes. The aim is to
deliver the software quickly and reliably.
However, in an enterprise scenario with the complexity involved, the journey to implement DevOps
comprehensively is evolutionary. Hence, it is only sensible to drive along an incremental adoption
path. Each increment has to provide the most benefits through the MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
delivered towards the DevOps journey.
In this context, this article attempts to explain the initial steps towards the larger DevOps journey and
helps to get a head start.
The approach at high level consists of four major steps:

Body Dysmorphic Disorders
In our contemporary Western society, body image has become an obsession. In any advertisement,
shop window, magazine, movie, social media, there are strong suggestions on the way we should look
to be trendy, cool, and desirable. Without emphasizing the increasing popularity of plastic surgery, the
amount of money, time, and effort that people spent on fashion, skin care creams, makeup, lotions, and
hair products, indicate how deeply this culture pursues beauty. At the same time, there is a great deal
of data that suggest how body image is experienced negatively by countless men and women. To some
extent, dissatisfaction with our own appearance affects everybody in life and it might be a common
form of response to the imposed sociocultural standards of beauty. However, having Body
Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is utterly different from common discontent. Individuals diagnosed with
BDD experiences an emotionally painful obsession with perceived flaws in some part of their body.

Recently, DSM V defines Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) as preoccupation with one or more
perceived defects or flaws in physical appearance that are not observable or appear slight to others
(p.131). Even if the physical anomaly is existing, the person s concern is markedly excessive. To meet
this criterion, Phillips (1996) suggests that the fixation should be present for a minimum of an hour a
day (as cited in Veale and Neziroglu, 2010, p.6). Another relevant criterion is the presence of some
repetitive behaviors, such as mirroring checking, excessive grooming, skin picking, reassurance
seeking. In addition, the preoccupation must cause clinically significant distress or impairment in
social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning, and it cannot be better accounted for an

Theme Of Secrets In Sense And Sensibility
The Role of Secrecy in Sense and Sensibility A novel full of secrets, Sense and Sensibility, allows the
opportunity to explore the use of the secret as a literary tool. Austen creatively uses secrets and their
strategically timed revelation to achieve greater, overarching goals in the novel. In Sense and
Sensibility secrets are used to establish internal and external conflict, create situations of dramatic
irony, and contribute to plot development. Many of the secrets in Sense and Sensibility allowed Jane
Austen to establish both internal and external conflict throughout the novel. The secret of Edward
Ferrars and Lucy Steele s engagement leads to external conflict between Edward and his family.
Edward is disowned by his mother, brother, and sister for being secretly engaged with Lucy and
refusing to break the engagement (Austen 251). This secret also creates considerable internal conflict
and turmoil for Elinor Dashwood. At the beginning of the novel, she only has sense and is not
considered sensible. However, when Lucy Steele reveals the secret engagement to Elinor, her sense
begins to struggle with the sensibility that she has not yet expressed. Her inner ... Show more content

caused him to be disowned and his inheritance passed to his brother. This led to Lucy bestowing her

  • 4. Women s Unequal Treatment Of Women Virtually, every known society past and present, women have not been treated as an equal to men. According to (UN NATIONS WEBSITE DEFINITON OF UNEQUAL TREATMENT of women CITATION HERE)it is unequal treatment of individuals based on their gender. UN agencies and most governments agree on the principle of gender inequality. The question at large is what accounts for the difference between the rhetoric of equality and the reality of inequality? The single aspect of gender inequality of men and women is that women obtain insufficient pay from their male counterparts in the workforce. Throughout this paper the reader will recognize the role that the international and traditional norms that society takes part of in women receiving equal pay. Secondly, this essay will discuss the patriarchal manifestation within the women wage gap and how it has been resisted by the government. Lastly, how different strategies are taking place in seeing which areas to obtain equal pay for women. The role that international and traditional norms have is that women are paid less than men. Women in most countries earn on average only 60 to 75 per cent of men s wages (World Bank Gender Data Portal 2014). On the international scene there are many laws and goals they state that is equal or that should be equal pay between men and women, however, that does that seem to happen. On average a woman makes approximately 77 cents on every dollar a man makes. The factors are that women are more likely to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The IUI fertility treatment is the most common infertility procedure suggested by the gynecologists or fertility doctors for the low sperm count. When a couple is not able to conceive naturally after trying for a long duration of time they typically visit a fertility doctor who suggests IUI treatment at a fertility clinic. Even though it takes only one sperm to fertilize the egg, many sperm dies in the acidic environment of the female cervix and many are too weak and not able to make the perilous journey to the fallopian tubes. • 6. Plato And The Euthyphro Dilemma Siddhanth Goyal Does morality stem from God? Or does it exist independently of his presence, not subject to arbitrary decisions? The first discussion over these questions appeared in Plato s Euthyphro, in which Plato chronicles the proceedings of a highly repetitive argument between Socrates and Euthyphro, a prophet and holy man, over the nature of piety and holiness. The questions produced in this dialogue have been expanded to remain relevant even in a modern religious context. It has achieved so much fame that the core question presented in this dialogue is now known as the Euthyphro Dilemma. In the dialogue, Socrates presents Euthyphro with a choice, Is what is holy loved by the gods because it is holy, or is it holy because it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to this theory, there are no moral standards that exist without God s will, and without his commands, nothing would be right or wrong. God is omnipotent, and therefore, morality itself is derived from God s nature. Without God, there is no basis for our moral structure and under this, what is moral is so because God has decreed it as such. This theory would stress the complete sovereignty of God s will, and the concept that morality exists based not on reason, or any logical basis, but simply due to the arbitrary nature of God s commands. This theory proposes that there is no rationale, moral or immoral, behind divine commands, and hence renders both his commands and morality subject to his whims. On this theory, God could have commanded, for example, for one to kill an innocent child, and it would have been mandatory for a person to do it. Abhorrent acts, or ones we would consider as such, are automatically pious, simply because God has decreed it, though many, including those who might be inclined to side with the this theory, would agree that they are abhorrent. The theory also rules out the option of assuming that God is just an agent of morality, not its progenitor, leaving the devotee with a puzzling quandary. On the other hand, rejecting the divine command theory, and accepting that moral principles exist independently of divine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As I wander aimlessly, the cold, brisk air invades my lungs. I exhale slowly, I see my shaky breath float away from me. The scenery is nothing special, black trees covered in moss, very few hills, rocks in no set trail, and above all else, endless layers of Texas snow (not really snow, just an ice layer maybe 1/3 of an inch). I walk with a cold firearm in my hands and a knife hung on my belt with no intention to use either. • 8. Australian Car Manufacturing Industry Comes to an End Introduction It is believed that the Australian car manufacturing industry has come to an end. The following essay will argue that the government should not provide finances to save the automotive manufacturing industry. There is a continuous debate between the shareholders of the automotive businesses and the Australian citizens on what should be done with this issue. In order to determine the strength of the argument, the following essay will completely analyze relevant information; examine the affects of moving production to overseas, why production is being moved? Take a look at who is to blame and what the media says should be done? The car manufacturing industry is a large enterprise and supplies employment for more than 45,000 people and indirectly employs nearly 200,000 (Cassin, 2013). However it is believed that the Australian government should not provide funds to the car manufactures, Australia cannot compete with the larger automotive manufacturing countries. The statistics of 2013 show that, 1.13 million cars were sold, out of that figure just over 100,000 were purchased locally made. This tells us that less than 10% of Australian s actually bought an Australian manufactured car (Smith, 2014). If we aren t going to buy them who will? Affects of moving production? It is assumed that the Australian car production industry employs more than 200,000 jobs indirectly (Cassin, 2013). Therefore moving production overseas will cut a massive hole in the employment ... • 10. Hemp Oil Persuasive Essay Derived from the buds of the hemp plant, hemp oil, like its cousin cannabis oil, has been touted as having strong medicinal value in treating a number of ailments. Hemp oil has been described as a miracle product because of its effectiveness in treating conditions such as cancer, depression, diabetes, anxiety, and pain, among other conditions, when traditional pharmaceutical drugs have failed. Some call it the natural chemotherapy for all cancer patients. Rigorous scientific cannabis testing has not been done in the U.S, largely because both marijuana and hemp are classified as Schedule 1 drugs by the U.S Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Regardless, evidence of successful treatment and desperation to find a treatment that work, has compelled thousands of patients to gamble with medical marijuana and hemp oil treatments. Literature Review The purpose of this chapter is to make readers comprehend the development of definitions of organizational culture and project management in different dimensions. And within the content of project management, the criteria of the success of project management will be demonstrated. Furthermore, the previous studies about the relationship between organizational culture and the success of project management will be referred to. Eventually, some problems unanswered on this filed or some gaps that missed by former studies will be indicated. 2.1 Organizational Culture A well known fact that organizational culture is hard to define because of its complexity, and it seems that most of existing definitions are general and macroscopic. For example, organizational culture supplies members of organization with principles of behaviors with the help of essential, common values in the organization, and these principles are usually approved and accepted by internal members (Baird et al. 2007; Chatman Jehn, 1994; DeshpandĂ© Webster, 1989; Narver Slater, 1998; as cited in Cynthia Webster Allyn White, 2010). And organizational culture means correspondingly fixed faiths, manners and norms that are agreed by organizational members commonly (Williams, Dobson Walters, 1993; as cited in Catherine T. Kwantes Cheryl A. Boglarsky, 2007). Organizational culture is also defined as shared normative beliefs and shared behavioural expectations or a particular set of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Going to war, and having to do all the horrific things soldiers do, can cause them to have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. When away from home and out into a horrific world soldiers tend to think more of the actual world, and imagine what they could be doing instead of what they re actually doing at the moment, and that gets them sidetracked. • 19. The European Union, A Common Currency, The Brexit, And The... Introduction The European Union was formed with many expectations. Despite closeness and similarities, the various nations of the European continent fought bitter wars for thousands of years within themselves. After the devastating World War II, finally everyone saw the light and decided to give a chance to a peaceful coexistence. However, the EU s path has not been smooth. Many critical economic as well as political problems have emerged throughout the last decade, raising questions about its credibility. Two primary questions need to be explored here, 1. What are the most serious challenges in front of the EU at present? 2. How are these problems going to affect the credibility of the EU? In this essay, I argue that the EU has failed, given the controversial issues that arise at present, namely viability of the Euro as a common currency, the Brexit, and the migrant crisis from the Middle East. Euro as a Common Currency The viability of Euro as a common currency here will explicate the financial crisis in the Eurozone countries to prove that the EU has failed. Before World War II, doing trade across borders is difficult. Countries need to pay a fee to exchange currencies, before a tariff fee is then executed when trade between companies of two different countries are involved. This eventually had stifled the economic growth. After WWII has ended, the situation among the European countries is so dire that they have to call for a unification process in order to hasten the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All Quiet on the Western Front Essay With WWI came a generation of young men that were lost forever, regardless if they exited in a coffin. In Erich Maria Remarque s landmark novel All Quiet on the Western Front , he illustrates the everyday hell soldier s face fishing in the battlefields of WWI. The novel, Paul Baumer, is a foot soldier fighting for the German army; he shares a first hand account of the war s atrocities on himself and his comrades in arms. In the novel, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, the author reveals the horrifying yet calmness between the main characters of the story, and his relationship to the first industrialized war between Germany and others through the use of a variety of literary elements to emphasize the impact of the war on young men as well as employing imagery to appeal to the readers senses to illustrate how the war changed boys into men of the lost generation. • 21. Aestheticism In Wilde s Lady Gertrude Chiltern Lady Gertrude Chiltern Correspondingly, Wilde utilises Aestheticism to characterise Lady Gertrude Chiltern dissimilar to Lord Goring and Mrs Cheveley and as a touchstone of moral stability (Bose, 1999) to indicate her restraints towards the model upper class standards. Hence, Wilde undermines the Victorian English notions, particularly of marriage, as exaggeratingly hypocritical and non naturalistic (HornychovĂĄ, 2010) as it led to Lady Chiltern s disillusion and disappointment from her morally rigid admiration towards her husband s façade. Consequently, Wildes creates dramatic irony into Lady Chiltern s dialogue and develops her distaste towards Mrs Cheveley. Primarily through dramatic irony established from Lady Chiltern s prudent dialogue, Wilde depicts her stagnant pride highly tuned from societal conventions to dramatise the hypocrisy of Victorian English strictures as it negatively impacts the relationship between Lady Chiltern and Sir Chiltern. In Act 1 Scene 6, Sir Chiltern hints at his pastime indiscretions to observe Lady Chiltern s reaction where her replying dialogue stresses that one s past is what one is and that would be the only way people should be judged (1.6) and thus ironically conveys her Victorian English morality when the audience already have knowledge about Sir Chiltern s political misdemeanours. • 22. Value Of American Culture Essay Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck advocate that cultures mature into different states depending on their value orientations. These orientations involve human s relationships with nature, time, motive, human behavior, and other humans. Most cultures develop by putting their value into some aspects of these orientations over others. An example, Americans put value into nature and their relation to God. When only comparing the world s industrialized nations, America is known for having a higher percentage of citizens that believe in God. Thus, this illustrates how America has been shaped by this orientation. In my experience, I have seen a few of these orientations at work affecting myself and the football team. When I look back, I can understand the orientations better. Our team was always worried about time and how to use it properly. The individuals that made up the team had to set aside some of their personal principles to make the team better as a whole, as well as, push themselves to act and become improved. The achievement of doing so would give the entire team determination to continue and follow suit. • 23. Realism In The Picture Of Dorian Gray Wilde combines both the ornamental and the natural elements of the definition of aestheticism here by describing both the Persian saddle bags and honey coloured blossoms. The set description is so enamoring that one could almost miss Lord Henry Wotton, instead engaging their imagination in the appreciation of the objects around him. The descriptions are so elegantly articulated by Wilde that they can only be imagined through their beauty alone; one would not imagine plain tables and chairs while reading this, and the descriptions are certainly not modest as George Eliot describes in her definition of realism. This also eliminates any need for a collective spectacle; the objects simply are what they are. The entertaining language that Wilde uses in his descriptions work in satisfying his argument for aestheticism. Wilde also spends a lot of his time making the characters in The Picture of Dorian Gray aesthetic focused. For Wilde, the only character who gives in to the idea of realism is Basil Hallward by putting far too much of himself into his own painting. Basil is the physical characterization of Wilde s criticism of artists in his preface; he does not conceal the artist when creating Dorian s portrait. Basil even claims that the real Dorian is the painting and not the living Dorian standing before him, saying I shall stay with the real Dorian when prompted to attend the theatre with Dorian and Henry Wotton (Wilde 28). The story is set up as a fable using a third person objective viewpoint and personification of animals to represent historical figures and stereotypes. Distortion can also be found in much of the symbolism throughout the novel. Similar to a fable, Animal Farm makes use of personification. In the story, farm animals are used to represent different classes of people, from the average working man to government officials and police or military personnel. This brings the reader to the level of the working class animals and instills a sense of uncertainty and disillusionment that is felt by most of the characters in the story. In the beginning, the animals are excited by Major s talk of rebellion against Mr. Jones and through Orwell s objective point of view, the same feeling of insurrection is passed on to the audience. As the pigs weave an intricate web of lies and scandal, the reader gets the sense that not all is well in the same way the animals do. The difference between the animals and ourselves lies in intelligence. The author deliberately makes the characters dumber than the average person, allowing us to see through the deception of the pigs, without the use of a third person omniscient viewpoint. Symbolically, Animal Farm itself is supposed to represent Russia and the Soviet Union under Communist control. The farm in today s world, being a small, self sustaining entity may relate to current conditions in North Korea. It seems that Kim Jong il, like the pigs, is much more equal than his subjects. Kim and Napoleon seem to share the paranoia of being attacked by more powerful rivals, and both it seems, have a desire to keep their respective nations in the dark. The skills one needs to be a radio listener, are more sophisticated then the skills one would use to understand and interpret a television program. When listening to the radio, one has to be an active listener. It requires you to pay more attention as the information is being processed solely through auditory stimulation. This is unlike watching television which provides both auditory and visual stimulation. Personally, when listening to Orson Welles War of the Worlds from October 30th 1938, I found myself more easily distracted comparing to when watching a television program or news story. It is much easier to pay attention to the later. Moreover, listening to the radio requires a person to use their own imagination more vividly. The audience has to take in what is being described and create their own personal picture of the event. Television seems to give us a more realistic understanding of what it is news anchor is talking about as the consumers can be shown pictures or film footage of the event being discussed. This add to the audience s view of the incident in its entirety. On the radio, the news broadcasters have to be more descriptive when describing the currents events as their descriptions are the sole foundation that the listener s imagination will be based on. It is only through their description that the listener will get an understanding of whatever is being discussed. The radio host must therefore put in more detail than a television host. As the world becomes increasingly globalized and interconnected, there is an imperative need for every student in this generation to be exposed and to be prepared for this rapidly changing world. Globalization sets the platform for a competitive environment, which challenges a country to increase their level of efficiency, promote innovation, and improve its overall standard of living. One of the ways that value added learning could be incorporated in students learning is through the dissemination of a rich multicultural classroom, whereby local students are interacting, exchanging knowledge, and building quality relationships with international students. However, this requires foreign students to travel or migrate to another country differing from their own for the purpose of furthering their education and/or other personal reasons such as seeking a better quality of life, searching to advance their career/life opportunities, or just simply looking for a change in their environment. Although cross cultural interaction is highly valuable, relocating to a new country and being isolated from relatives and friends can be a source of stress, anxiety, and confusion to international students, which can induce a real challenge to them for studying in another country such as the United States.
