The Second Vatican Council
Pope John XXII s surprising call for a general council during the early months of his papacy not only
stunned the Church, but allowed him to achieve one of his personal goals for his papacy and enabled
the Church to seek renewal of doctrines, unification with the universal church, and increase the
Church s relevancy. John XXIII saw the need to call the Second Vatican Council in order to update
Church so to more efficiently and effectively minister to the faithful and respond to the needs of the
Church in the modern era. With modernization came the need also for unification and ecumenical
dialogues which could only come as a product of the Council updates and openness. This ecumenical
council was not called as a continuance of the First ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was John XXIII s way of attacking the passivism of the Church and forcing it to update itself and
the way the Deposit of Faith is presented (27). The vision for this council was based on John XXIII s
ideas that it would renew Catholicism, which in part would help to make ecumenical dialogue easier
and increase pastoral understanding of reforms for the Church and the faithful, all while being true to
Christ s teachings and example (Albergio, 14). None of the goals of the pontiff had would have been
possible without an open structure for bishops to voice their theological ideas and opinions, thus this
was one of the important characteristics of Vatican II for John XXIII. Open and inclusive formatting
was necessary for without such an area for dialogue passivity would remain in the Church, thus
hindering the outcomes of Vatican II and Pope John XXIII s vision (14).
Vatican II was called to bring renewal, unity, and relevance and openness to the Church, at the request
of Pope John XXIII and by necessity of modern times. This council was gathered and envisioned as a
new Pentecost (Albergio, 10), for the Council held the objective of renewing and updating the Church
in order to have a more relevant and effective role in the modern world. This updating would, and did,
increase the Church s voice and involvement in the universal church increasing unity and ecumenical

My Personal Teaching Style And My Student s Learning Styles
I thoroughly enjoyed the reading, Learning and Teaching Styles In Foreign and Second Language
Education by Richard M. Felder Eunice R. Henriques. I have related this reading selection to my
personal teaching/ learning style and my student s learning styles, but especially to one particular
student that I work with.
The students on my caseload have disabilities that range from the following: verbal, sensory, auditory
skills, and emotional and behavior disorders.
Most of my students have specific learning disabilities that relate to the basic psychological processes
that involve, understanding or using spoken or written language, which may contribute to their ability
to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell and to perform mathematical calculations.
One of my students, who I will refer to as, JV has a behavior disorder. It s important to note that
children with behavioral disorders do not necessarily have learning disabilities. JV is achieving above
grade level with his reading fluency, yet requires ongoing support with behavior issues. To be specific,
he is constantly making noises, will get out of his seat and roam about the room, lose focus and begin
talking about different things that interest him. It is very difficult for JV to maintain focus for long
unless a stimulating environment is provided.
I decided to reach JV by providing material that is of interest to him. Stories that relate to his interest
that he has selected are being used with instructional

Essay on Final Project Plan
Final Project Plan Paper Introduction In the Telecommunications industry, balancing assets and
profitability is especially important in the survival of a given company. This is due to the fact that
consumers are becoming more knowledgeable and understand the technical aspects much better now
than in the past. Customers are always looking for new technological solutions and more bandwidth as
their applications are becoming more sophisticated. Small Telecommunications companies, in an
attempt to keep up with the technological changes, are moving too fast and often do not properly track
their costs. In addition to the technical challenges, new regulatory changes are making hard for CLECs

The main objective of this project is to determine whether the company is profitable in a given market
with the deployed assets, reduce cost, and increase the overall margin by at least 10%. This project
will be managed in two distinct phases: „ Profitability analysis: This study process is simple but
required the participation of all departments. Network Planning, Engineering, Filed Operations, Sales,
Finance and marketing all have to be part of the study. Business practices and daily processes must be
reviewed and reevaluated. The profitability analysis study includes a review of the actual costs of
maintaining network presence in a given market, the current revenue, future forecast, equipment
decommissioning and displacement costs. „ Decommission implementation (if necessary): This phase
would require participation from the implementation organizations in addition to Network Planning,
Customer Service, Engineering, and other implementation organizations. Measurable success: The
success of this project will be defined by three important measurable aspects. All the deadlines and
scheduled deliverables must be met. Any length of time spent with the current cost and revenue
structures in place mean lack of profitability for that much longer. The project manager will track
these deliverables and the associated dates. As part of the project team, all members must be
responsible enough to ensure timely delivery

Respect and Integrity in the Military Essay
Respect and integrity, what really do those mean? I could look up those words in the Oxford English
Dictionary or Websters, or Dictionary.com and give a scientific, perscise and exact answer to these
words. And while that tells you what they mean, does that really give their meaning. Well by
Dictionary.com s standards respect is a noun that means to hold in esteem or honor, and to show
regard or consideration for. And Dictionary.com says that integrity means an adherence to moral and
ethical principles; soundness of moral character, honesty, and the state of being whole, entire, or
undiminished as to morality. The Army on the other hand has their own, similar, but specific
definitions for these words, they call values, and are one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Army Value views respect as something that is just between people, yet at the same time it is also
something that is between offices. Each rank is expected to show a certain respect for the ranks above
them. In some units a private is expected respect a specialist, while both show respect for their
sergeants. This has less to do with the specific people then it does with their experience and respect
and of their peers and the people who are situated over them. As soldier we respect the ranks that are
above us because their peers and other higher Sergeants have seen something in them. Some form of
leadership, or the craftsmanship and mastery of their job that they have found some respect for them,
and decided that they deserve to be honored for it. These are people who have seen many soldiers, and
been in the Army long enough to recognize these traits in a person, and other people should respect
that. Not just because of the office they hold but because of their experience that led them to that
office. The Army has kind of got it right, in a way. They view respect as a way that we should act
towards each other and treat each other. But Respect is still so much more then that. You can not
respect just a person, or a rank, or a position, but also someones experience that has led them to where
they are. Its more about feelings

Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously Summary
Julie Powell, the author of her own memoir, was a distraught secretary working at a bureaucratic
organization led primarily by Republicans in order to build a memorial to the terrorist attack on
September 11th, 2001. To further this misery, she was told that she may be unable to have children in
the future. After hearing this news, she and her husband Eric went to her mother s house in Texas
where Powell found an old copy of Julia Child s Mastering the Art of French Cooking which reminded
her of childhood memories of sneaking looks at and moments with books about sex and cooking she
knew she should not read. She was inspired by these memories to cook every recipe in Julia Child s
historic and expansive cookbook, in one year.
The challenge started well with Powell quickly cooking the first few of the 524 recipes in just one
weekend. Powell began to have a new purpose at work instead of being forced to listen to ludicrous
ideas for a national monument, including a football field built on ground zero, and was more and more
excited to go home and continue her self assigned project.
While The Project began well, Julia Child s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Judith Jones, and invited the editing legend to have dinner at

gain enough attention to gain a media audience. Many months into The Project, a reporter from CNN
came to interview Powell about her Julie/Julia Project and record some footage of her cooking. This
interview was noticed by other news networks and Powell was interviewed for The New York Times

The Incredibles Film Analysis
Have you ever wondered what your family would be like with superhuman powers? The ability to go
beyond the standards of most is an amazing trait. Although, knowing your genetics are surging with an
insane, yet controllable, set of predetermined skills is outstanding. Brad Bird brings this complex
thought closer to reality in a civil animated, family, action, comedy title. The Incredibles is about a
seemingly simple modern day family. This family is one of few to have incredible superpowers. The
dad known as Mr. Incredible has always been a crime fighter. During his early years he is approached
by a small boy, his number one fan, who asks to be his side kick. Mr. Incredible insists that the kid
goes home instead of helping him. The movie focuses

Hansberry Tales. In A Time Of Immense Racial Strife, Lorraine
Hansberry Tales
In a time of immense racial strife, Lorraine Hansberry a well respected African American author, civil
rights and sexual equality advocate wrote some of the most influential works of her time. Tenacious
and resilient, Hansberry explicitly shared her views on sexual identity, race relationships and identity.
Being a successful, black, woman playwright during the 1900 s meant that she had encountered not
only racism in her time, but also had to go through deciding just what being black meant during the
Civil Rights Movement. A Raisin in the Sun follows a black family in Chicago, which what Hansberry

In her work, Hansberry frequently addresses the strained, sensitive topic of race relations. She
comments on the extensive, prolonged and painful tension between black and white people that still
exists today. In her play Les Blancs, a scholarly African man Tshembe, returns from Europe to Africa
to attend his father s memorial service. His home is imbued with the intense hatred that is a result of
the ongoing struggle between European colonies and those native to Africa, strongest around a small,
make shift hospital made by missionaries. There is underlying tension between him and the white
colonists at first. There are a few snide remarks that him and the colonist casually woven into every
conversation they have. Very quickly, their implicit hatred warps into a full blown feud. Most of the
colonists believe that Africa is their rightful home since the Africans had it for so long and did nothing
with it (90). The colonist had a specific standard of civilization which Africa did not meet. Therefore,
when the colonist got there and started to form Africa into something that loosely resembled their
homeland, they felt that they were entitled to Africa. Additionally, they believe that there is sacredness
of a white life (105) and that white people must be protected and valued at all cost because one white

Virtual High School Research Paper
Virtual verses Traditional
Learn what you want, when you want and how you want without the unnecessary stresses of the
traditional high school setting. When I asked my parents to consider a virtual high school I remember
them telling me that it was ludicrous for me to think this is an option. After they talked through the
options with the Manhattan Virtual Academy they agreed that it was worth a shot. When I compare
and contrast virtual/online high school to traditional high school generally speaking, I think that
virtual/online high school is better. When you compare the curriculum, the setting and the pace of the
two high schools you can see the similarities and the differences that make it more worthwhile to
attend a virtual high school.
The advantages of a virtual/online high school are there are typically more options when selecting the
classes that you want to take. For example, when I was attending a traditional high school then I could
only take a few dual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three main reasons that I selected Manhattan Virtual Academy is for the broader dual credit
classes and improved curriculum, the relaxed setting at home and the ability to learn at my own pace.
On the other hand, learning online and virtually is not for everyone as it depend on each student and
their learning style. I attended three different traditional high schools and two different virtual/online
high schools and for me Manhattan Virtual Academy fits my needs much better than the other four
options. Virtual/online high school requires discipline, structure and focus in order to be successful.
Finally, for me if Manhattan Virtual Academy was not an option I would have been miserable and I
would have struggled to conform to the traditional high school setting and I would have been counting

Debt and Usury Case Usury
History and Background To begin my research, I wanted to get a clear understanding of just exactly
what usury was and how it came about. The word usury is derived from both the Medieval Latin word
usuria, meaning interest or excessive interest , and from the Latin word usura, which simply means
interest . At that point in time, the definition of usury meant the charging of interest on loans, but over
time after the legislation of countries to limit the rate of interest on loans, the definition of usury came
to mean the interest above the lawful rate. As it stands today, usury would be found to mean the
charging of unreasonable or relatively high rates of interest. The practice of usury can be traced back
over four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam Smith, who was considered the Father of the Free market Capitalism and known for his general
advocacy of laissez fair economics, however, was strongly in support of controlling usury (Jadlow,
1977; Levy, 1987). While he didn t want to completely exclude interest, he was in favor of the
imposition of an interest rate ceiling (Smith, 1937). Another reformist was Silvio Gesell, a successful
nineteenth century merchant in Germany and Argentina, who condemned interest on the basis that his
sales were more often related to the pride of money than people s needs or the quality of his products
(Gesell, 1904). His proposal of making money a public service subject to a use fee led to widespread
experimentation in Austria, France, Germany, Spain Switzerland, and the United States under the
banner of the so called stamp script movement , but these initiatives were all squashed when their
success began to threaten the national banking monopolies (Kennedy, 1995).
Usury Law
Generally, usury law is used for the most part in the handling of consumer credit cases that involve the
statutes and regulations which limit the charges that creditors may assess when extending credit to
consumers. There are many statutes and regulations which restrict credit charges. The oldest of these
are referred to as general usury statutes which are established to set the maximum rate of interest that
can be charged in any loan transaction in a

Rolling On The River Analysis
From the creativity inputted, to the fine craftsmanship of this bronze sculpture, is the reason I chose
this particular artwork. This artwork is titled Rolling on the River by all american Joel Perlman. The
piece was dedicated in 2010. It is located between between Forbes Hall and Haskell Hall in the Lewis
and Clark Community College campus. Art has always been a crucial part of my life, being as it is
expression. The first time I came to Lewis and Clark, all I noticed was the splendiferous flowers and
the enchanting artwork. This alleviated a lot for my attendance at this school, just for the sole factor of
the campus s magnificence. My thesis is that anyway you decide to look at the sculpture, it seems to
be different at every angle. One could tell a lot of time and creativity was inputted into this. This
sculpture is made of pure bronze, with a sleek tint of coating. It sits on a stone platform, to what seems
to be limestone. There are six possibly seven rings that make up this piece of art. The rings have
multiple and various shaped welded on. It gives a sense of uncertainty as you focus more in depth
about it. Also feelings of a rebellious nature are provoked as it follows no given design, being
completely and utterly original. As syncopation, being an strongly accented beat in an unordinary ...

set goal he strived to achieve was to make this artwork have definite flow, such as Freedom. Freedom
is to have no restraint, and this specific art has no boundaries in uniquity. As the construction of the art
was made, he made a point to give it a certain flow thus being titled, Rolling on the River. The bronze
establishes the depth of his concept. As shapes were welded onto each ring, there being no effort to
regularize this composition, truly makes every angle a new perspective to be

Why the Range of Indicators Used to Measure Development...
Why the Range of Indicators Used to Measure Development Has Increased in Recent Years
Essentially the ideology of development was based on a countries GNP this was down to Rostow s
Model; therefore the only indicator of development was a countries economy. The ideologies have
changed and now there are a range of indicators that are used to classify a countries development such
as social, demographic, hence including quality of life this gives the ideology of development a more
multi dimensional view thus a better understand of what a developed country is.
There are three categories that are used to measure development they are economic, social and
demographic. Some economic factors used to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other limitations in using GNP is that it needs to measure by a currency and with currencies always
changing figures can become less accurate. Also in LEDC s figures are less accurate and a lot of
business is done within the informal sector thus leaving GNP figures very unreliable. It also does not
take into account the cost of living is different depending on countries for example 10 dollars in and
LEDC will buy a person a lot more than what it would buy you in America. GNP s frequent use
suggest that development is only based on a countries wealth, where as this not true because
development is multi dimensional process. The other economic factors such as better transport link
and energy consumption tie in well with GNP and make using a countries economy more useful in
considering if a country is developed or not.
Some social indictors of development include the adult literacy rate, incidence of doctors and access
to a clean water supply. Adult literacy rates are good measure of development because it shows the
countries population who have access to education, with people able to communicate in other ways
rather than word of mouth enhances the chance of employment. Also one can compare the literacy
rates between male and female if they are more men able to read and write it suggest that women do

The Role of Federal Agencies in Fighting Digital Crime Essay
Explain the existing challenges that result from the independent nature of these agencies, as well as
the other factors that are common to each of them. In the United States, local, state, and federal law
enforcement agencies, including FBI, Department of Homeland Security, among others, have taken on
roles to fight computer crimes and terrorism. The roles and responses of these law enforcement
agencies concerning digital crime have created challenges that limit enforcement efforts against digital
crime. The Department Of Justice has had to address evolving challenges such as mortgage fraud,

In April 2011, GAO, Government Accountability Office, reported that backlogs in the forensic
analysis of digital evidence can delay or hinder online child pornography investigations. Among
factors that federal law enforcement officials cited as limiting investigations and prosecutions were
variations in the steps that agencies believe enhance the integrity of forensic analysis of digital
evidence. In some cases, these steps may increase the time it takes to analyze evidence and add to
backlogs and delays. (GAO High Risk Other Major Government Challenges Balancing Fighting
Crime Versus Terrorism) State and local law enforcement agencies face several challenges including
the lack of resources, expertise, training, and funding to solve cyber crime. Of these problems, are the
growing concerns of the local and state officials about the threats made relating to the protection of
computer infrastructures at the federal level. Local officers are not having the capacity or
understanding of computer crimes necessary to properly investigate offenses such as computer and
electric crimes and fraud and theft crimes by digital technology. (Taylor, 2011) Having education and
appropriate training is crucial in the investigation process to gain an upper hand in fighting digital
crime. In addition, state and local law enforcement expressed concerns about resource constraints and
apprehension regarding expertise and jurisdictional

Hillary Clinton Mistakes
Hillary Clinton should not run for president because she has not proved herself in her various roles in
our government. While she has had many roles partaking in government positions, it doesn t mean that
she was well noted for them. Many people in the United States like myself, distrust Hillary for her
actions in government issues. With the recent event of an online private server being used by Hillary,
she released classified information to the public through via e mails (Jones 2). When Hillary Clinton

incident. Benghazi may go down as the biggest stain on Hillary Clinton s reputation. Whether or not
Clinton made any mistakes, she will be forced to do damage control over the issue for the rest of her
life because of her role as Secretary of State during the attack in September of 2012. The extent of
Clinton s role in handling Benghazi is still largely unknown by the general public. The uncertainty of
the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other
American diplomats has done little to stop the criticism. Clinton spoke at a Congressional testimony in
January of 2013 and took full responsibility for the official response to the Benghazi attacks. She
asserted that there had been no conversations regarding the safety of the consulate prior to the attacks.

testimony. The report stated that reduced security levels in Benghazi were approved by the State

Essay on School Violence
On April 20, 1999 Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold opened fire on Columbine Highschool killing

violence varies from accounts of death, homicide, suicide, weapon related violence, in the US. (c1)
School violence can occur to and from school, while attending a school sponsored event, on a bus, or
at an activity.
Violence in school goes back to the 1800s . The first publicly funded schools for delinquents was built

The possibility of economic gains and losses is also considered, meaning a party with a considerable
investment in the business (beyond their labour) is generally considered to be an independent
contractor rather than an employee. The regularity of employment is another key factor since if a party
works solely for one employer, the party is considered to be an employee whereas if a party habitually
works for various employers, the party is considered to be a contractor. An employee typically
performs work personally, while an independent contractor may possibly appoint the work to
employees or, in some cases, outside subcontractors. The legal status of the worker is taken into
account because if the worker as incorporated their own business and carries out the contract under the
business name, the worker would more than likely be viewed as an independent contractor. In
consideration of public image, the relationship will bear a resemblance to employee status if the
worker s impression to their coworkers and the general public is reflective of a regular employee. In
regard to official contractual portrayals of employment relationships, courts look at the economic
realities of the relationship in use. Additionally, there is no Canadian law that prevents any parties
employed part time, casually, at home, or through an employment agency from being viewed as an
employee (England, 2008, pp.

Legend Of Newton Research Paper
Have you ever heard the legend about Newton and how he discovered gravity? Legend has it young
Newton was sitting under an apple tree and all of a sudden he gets hit on the head apple. This legend
is supposedly the real reason how the laws of gravity were created but it s not all true. The real story
which was told by Isaac himself is, he was barely looking out the window when he happened to see
the fruit drop. Even then, some Newton scholars think the story involving the apples was made up.
Newton wasn t always such a serious guy. He was a weirdo. He purposefully stuck a needle in his eye
socket. The reason for him sticking a needle was that he was experimenting with the properties of
light and used himself as a guinea pig. James Gleick the author of Newton s biography released in
2003, said that Newton did this because people at the time were not really sure whether the eyes were
responsible for collecting light or creating it and Newton wanted to find that out. ... Show more

back to his obsession with the Bible, it s worth mentioning that Isaac went to the extent of learning
Hebrew. He wanted to find out the hidden meanings instead of working on science all the time.
Newton thought he was a big time sinner. He studied the Bible at great depths and wrote more on
religion than about science or mathematics. He actually wrote a list of 48 sins, he committed, which

Major Influences Affecting Political Attitudes
1. I believe the three major influences that affect the origins of political attitudes are family, gender,
and education. I believe that family has a major impact because those are the people you grow up
around. Gender is important because women tend to support the nominee that supports more women
issues than the competing nominee. In the book, it states since the late 1960s they [women] have been
more likely to be Democrats . Also, education plays a role because more educated people are more
likely to know the issues and what vote would have the most benefit to society compared to someone
who didn t attend school and being less educated. But I believe the most important issue is family

A Career as a Hotel Manager
General Manager Being a Hotel General Manager would be my ideal job in the Lodging Industry. To
get the that point of being a General Manager would take years of working in the hotel industry as
well as having the proper education to preform the job. My plan of action would be to start out as a

The Importance Of Cheating
Cheating is one of the ultimate signs of betrayal. Whether it be emotional or physical, cheating is
cheating. Harvey describes cheating throughout the novel through the lens of women who may not be
satisfying their man properly mentally or physically. He insinuates that the biggest reason of all [are]:
there s always a woman out there willing to cheat with him (Harvey et al., pg. 105). Not shockingly,
Harvey also manages to blame women for [having] no standards and requirements and who suffer
from serious self esteem issues, making themselves willing to cheat and available to be cheated on
(Harvey et al., pg. 106). Although Harvey is partially correct with his theory, there are always people
who are willing to step outside of their marriage, and it does not matter if they are male and female,
cheating it still cheating. Sadly, the severity of ones actions are not usually recognized until they are
either exposed, or have lost everything they have loved around them due to their infidelity. A person
who cheats does not necessarily make them a bad person. According to Eric Anderson, the author of
At least with cheating there is an attempt at monogamy: Cheating and Monogamism among
Undergraduate, Heterosexual Men, cheating is a result of couples lacking three different types of
monogamy. Each type, physical, desirous, and social monogyny, are determined by how men look at
being monogamous and faithful throughout their relationship. First, physical monogamy is the

Governmental Agencies and Terrorism
After the 9/11 attacks the word terrorism became etched in the worlds vocabulary. The word Terrorism
immediately brings up images of bombings and hooded figures making demands on a home video.
But when organizations tasked with defending against the treat of terrorism, begin to shape their
operations, it also shape tire definition. The gathering and analysis of intelligence is the driving force
in the Central Intelligence agency (CIA). So much so that it s right in the name. So when the CIA
begins working on the definition of terrorism, it uses that mission as a driving facture. The CIA
describes terrorism as premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant
targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents (n.d., para. 6). This is a simple characterization
because this is exactly what they are looking for. That part of the description illustrates the specific
types of acts the organizations looking to prevent. Because of its mission it also adds the definition of
international terrorism as terrorism involving the territory or the citizens of more than one country and
terrorist groups as, any group that practices, or has significant subgroups that practice, international
terrorism (n.d., para. 6). These add ons highlight the scope of the organization. Unlike the FBI s
definition that has heaver legal implications or the State departments which is used for political
purposes, the CIA uses its definition to focus its operations.

Mardigras
This paper is about Mardi Gras, A festival or Carnival celebrated once a year. In this paper I will
discuss how
Mardi Gras originated, when it is celebrated, how it is celebrated, and what does it mean to all the
different cultures. Mardi Gras, in the French speaking parts of the world and in some US southern
states is the last day of carnival festivities preceding Lent, the time of penitence observed by
Christians in preparation for Easter. Mardi Gras ( Fat
Tuesday ) is a French term for Shrove Tuesday, the day before the start of Lent. Before Lent festivities
reach the climax on a day in February or March, depending on what date Easter is.(Americana pg.

While in New York he became enamored of an actress, Lydia Thompson, who was then appearing in
Bluebeard. As she sang the song If Ever I Cease To
Love, Alexis found himself completely lost to her charms.
He trailed her on a tour south and cought up with her in
New Orleans. It was almost Mardi Gras and when the local inhabitants discovered a real Grand Duke
was to be among them, they sat up and took notice. A new carnival Krewe was elaborated. A new king
was named Rex Lord of
Misrule. An official holiday was announced and street maskers were forbidden to form a united
procession.
Carnival colors were chosen purple, green, and gold. At the city hall a throne like chair was erected for
Alexis. Alexis arrived on the scene and the parade ensued.
Since all the bands knew of his great liking for the song
If Ever I Cease To Love, band after band played it. The song has remained an integral part of Mardi
Gras. Alexis Alexandrovich had helped to fix the pattern that Mardi Gras would thence forth follow:
official holiday,
Rex, and If Ever I Cease To Love as its song.(The Folklore of
American Holidays pg. 84 97) Mardi Gras in New Orleans attracts tourists from around the world.
Parades begin the week before Mardi
Gras. Societies called Krewes organize and pay for the parades and other festivities. During the
carnival season, they parade in masks and fancy dress. A parade of floats and marching bands

Stereotypes Of Teenagers Today
Many people have wondered what were the highs and lows of being a teen. It shouldn t be a wonder
since everybody was once a teen in their lifetime, but things have changed and I just so happen to
know. Teens are constantly bashed and criticized about being lazy and inconsiderate . Even though
part of that is true, it doesn t relate to every teen. Let me explain. The hardships teens face today are
far different from the teen struggle back in the day. Nowadays we are constantly being forced on how
we should be and how we shouldn t. Not only society and social media I blame but I mainly blame the
parents. It all starts in the home, your parents either support what you decide to do with your life or
they either think the opposite and wants you

Relationship Between Britain And The Colonies
Though both are independent nations, the United Kingdom and the United States now share a close
bond, and have even been allies during WWI and WWII in the 20th century. But when the colonies of
the United States were under British rule, the relations between the Colonies and Britain were not so
friendly. The views on government and taxation between the two became radically different and
created a large disagreement between the American Patriots and those loyal to Britain. Cracks began
to form in the relationship between Britain and the Colonies, and the differences between the two
would inevitably result in the American Revolution. Between 1754 and 1763, Britain and French were
involved in the French and Indian War, which was a territorial dispute between Britain and France.
With the help of the British American colonists, Britain was able to maintain and increase its borders
in America, but the funds needed to support the war caused Britain to go into debt ( French and Indian
War/Seven Years War 1754 1763 1). Not willing to tax its own citizens any further, Britain decided to
tax the American colonies more in order to generate revenue. Before the war, American colonists were
paying a fraction of the taxes than those living in Britain, and even after the imposed taxes, the
average American would pay less taxes than the average Englishman ( British Acts on Colonial
America 1).
Even though Americans were paying far less taxes than the British, the sudden enforcement of

My Greatest Accomplishment Was Being A Three Time...
My greatest accomplishment was being a three time heavyweight champion. I got my first title when I
was 22. The fight was February 25, 1964 in Miami Beach, Florida. I was a 7 1 underdog against that
ugly bear, named Sonny Liston. I told him he was too ugly to be a champion and I should be the
Champ because I was young, fast, and handsome. I was right, I beat that ugly bear in the seventh
round. Float like a butterfly sting like a bee is what I told that him. After that fight, I won 11 fights
before losing the belt to Joe frazier. Then in 1975 I regained the title back by beating him in 15
rounds. I said no one could beat me twice and I meant it. Unfortunately, I later lost it to some chump
named Leon Spikes in 15 rounds. Never count me out because I won the title back again one more
time. I got revenge on Leon Spikes and got back what was mine in a unanimous decision. I finished
my boxing career with a 55 6 record and best of all being called the greatest of all time, which I
cannot disagree with. The biggest obstacle people thought I would have, was to overcome being an
african american. But I took pride in the fact that I was labeled black. Especially during the time when
it was mostly white athletes in professional sports. My biggest obstacle was being a Black Muslim,
because the Black Muslims had a bad reputation for hating white people or thinking they were evil.
People would automatically assume I felt the same way about white people, but I didn t

Role Of Organisms On A Tropical Ecosystem
Part B The Role of Organisms
A producer in a tropical ecosystem is the plants and trees. A primary consumer in a tropical ecosystem
is a squirrel. A secondary consumer in a tropical ecosystem is a jack rabbit. A tertiary consumer in a
tropical ecosystem is a mountain lion. A decomposer in a tropical ecosystem is mushrooms, fungi and
moss.
The predator is the Mountain Lion. The prey is the deer. So the predator and prey relationship is
between the mountain lion and the deer. The predator which is the mountain lion hunts for the deer to
survive and feed off. The mountain lion is a carnivore and is one of the few at the top of this tropical
food chain. The prey which is the deer is a herbivore and feeds of plants and trees.

deer are all primary consumers and herbivores, and feed off the producers for survival as they are
unable to make their own food as they can t go through photosynthesis. They eat about 10% of any of
the producer s energy meaning that the primary consumers gain 10% of energy. The secondary

Lucretia Mott Research Paper
Anna Meffert History final essay Dec. 11/2014 Prior to the Revolutionary War, women did not have
the same rights as men. Men thought that the role of women was to be a housewives which upset
women. They thought they should be treated like men because they could do the same things as men
could do or even better. Women like Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton took this further and fought
for women s right to vote in elections. They thought it was their birthright. And women like Sojourner
Truth supported their cause and preached about it so it could be known around the country. Lucretia
Mott was born to a Quaker parents on the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. Early in her childhood
she learned that men and women were not treated equally.

Identity In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fist
The texts Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, as well as Sherman
Alexie s The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven all ask us to consider the relationship
between rhetoric and identity. When thinking about identity it depends on the person. I would define
identity as the key characteristics about each of us that we define ourselves by. How we want to be
seen by others, and how we think others see us. What parts of ourselves we choose to keep private and
what parts we choose to let people see. What we believe morally and dream wise. Our existence and
worth as a human both soul and body which is not determined or differentiated by anything you do or
fail to do, but is inherent and vital in you from your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the indians have drinking and drug problems which these problems are basic personal
problems that they have. In the stories the characters will often be in one place out of the ordinary,
after that they will be transported back in time to one distinct memory. This sort of thing works in
these stories because, it reminds me of how our minds work. It makes me think about how people are
not always there. In class sometimes I stare off into space as most people probably do because they are
thinking about things. Our dreams and memories drift in and out of our minds throughout the day, and
I believe this is what Alexie is trying to demonstrate with the characters in the various stories because
it makes them seem more real and it makes the stories seem like they are coming to life. If Alexie did
not reply on this rhetoric strategy the characters would collapse and be dull, but the characters is what
gives the story life. In the stories the characters go through several dilemmas such as in the first
chapter families fighting with each other, substance abuse as well as detestable living conditions.
When they search for something it lead many of the characters in his book to imagine, desire, and look
for something that they did not already have, and to

Ken Orr Case Study
Requirements are often the most misunderstood part of system development. But it is an absolutely
critical function. (Robertson 208). In regards to the first statement, I believe Ken Orr meant that from
the view point of project leaders understanding how to implement requirements may be
misunderstood. Recall, that requirements are obtained from other stake holders. Through this
communication, meaning can naturedly be misinterpreted. Also, project leaders often do not have a
technical understanding of the project they are developing, therefore not understanding
implementation of a require can occur because of this too. That is why, project manager must
communicate with other stakeholders to understand requirements and the project they are developing.
Lastly, what is a requirement can also be misunderstood by stakeholders that a project manager is
working with. This misunderstanding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recall, requirements are critical function to a project because tell managers what the project must do.
Without these instructions, one can not know for certain the processes a project must include.
Furthermore, requirements also act can act as a guide for development. This is because requirements
can outline a sequence of events in a project.
Lastly, a project can consist of several requirements. Due to time and budget some requirements may
be more essential than others. Recall, there are two types of requirements Functional and Non
functional. Based on the reading, Functional requirements are described as something that a project
accomplish (Robertson 306). On the other hand, a non functional project is an attribute that a project
has (Robertson 306). Therefore, the criteria I would used to prioritize requirements is complete all
functional requirements first, followed by non functional requirements that improve or directly related
to functional

Planning Personal Fitness Program Essay
Planning Personal Fitness Program
Introduction
My personal fitness program is designed to enhance my speed, agility and cardio vascular fitness, as
well as to improve my skill level in the main parts of tennis. To improve these aspects of my
performance I will be doing a six week course involving, in particular, a circuit training course, as
well as numerous endurance runs and fitness techniques, some of which will be included in my circuit.
A circuit involves a series of around 6 10 activities or exercises which each take place at a station . I
have 8 stations in my circuit, each focusing on improving separate aspects of tennis and fitness. The
stations are done with very little rest in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For much of my programme I will be working with a partner, which will increase my safety as they
can call for or give help as necessary. I will be training at the Weald Tennis Club in Hassocks, who
will provide me with tennis balls as well as courts and nets that are an appropriate size for my circuit,
or at the school tennis courts where I will need my own balls; I will use my own tennis racket. The
main risk of injury is from overusing my right arm and shoulder, which could cause overuse injuries
such as tennis elbow . To prevent these as best as possible I will be carrying out thorough warm ups
before each session in my programme, and a thorough warm down at the end of each session.
The stations in my circuit will vary in length to accommodate my different levels of ability for each of
the different stations exercises. The stations in the circuit are all designed in accordance with my
weaknesses and other areas of my game that I want to improve on. They are all very different
exercises, which helps to relieve tedium, as well as giving resting time from the more tiring activities
whilst giving rest from the less arduous ones. Because I am fairly fit from playing tennis throughout
the summer, and from games at school, I will not need to concentrate as hard on the fitness improving
stations in my circuit, though I will be

The Second Vatican Council Pope John XXII s surprising call for a general council during the early months of his papacy not only stunned the Church, but allowed him to achieve one of his personal goals for his papacy and enabled the Church to seek renewal of doctrines, unification with the universal church, and increase the Church s relevancy. John XXIII saw the need to call the Second Vatican Council in order to update Church so to more efficiently and effectively minister to the faithful and respond to the needs of the Church in the modern era. With modernization came the need also for unification and ecumenical dialogues which could only come as a product of the Council updates and openness. This was John XXIII s way of attacking the passivism of the Church and forcing it to update itself and the way the Deposit of Faith is presented (27). The vision for this council was based on John XXIII s ideas that it would renew Catholicism, which in part would help to make ecumenical dialogue easier and increase pastoral understanding of reforms for the Church and the faithful, all while being true to Christ s teachings and example (Albergio, 14). None of the goals of the pontiff had would have been possible without an open structure for bishops to voice their theological ideas and opinions, thus this was one of the important characteristics of Vatican II for John XXIII. Open and inclusive formatting was necessary for without such an area for dialogue passivity would remain in the Church, thus hindering the outcomes of Vatican II and Pope John XXIII s vision (14). Vatican II was called to bring renewal, unity, and relevance and openness to the Church, at the request of Pope John XXIII and by necessity of modern times. This council was gathered and envisioned as a new Pentecost (Albergio, 10), for the Council held the objective of renewing and updating the Church in order to have a more relevant and effective role in the modern world. • 3. My Personal Teaching Style And My Student s Learning Styles I thoroughly enjoyed the reading, Learning and Teaching Styles In Foreign and Second Language Education by Richard M. Felder Eunice R. Henriques. I have related this reading selection to my personal teaching/ learning style and my student s learning styles, but especially to one particular student that I work with. The students on my caseload have disabilities that range from the following: verbal, sensory, auditory skills, and emotional and behavior disorders. Most of my students have specific learning disabilities that relate to the basic psychological processes that involve, understanding or using spoken or written language, which may contribute to their ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell and to perform mathematical calculations. One of my students, who I will refer to as, JV has a behavior disorder. It s important to note that children with behavioral disorders do not necessarily have learning disabilities. JV is achieving above grade level with his reading fluency, yet requires ongoing support with behavior issues. To be specific, he is constantly making noises, will get out of his seat and roam about the room, lose focus and begin talking about different things that interest him. It is very difficult for JV to maintain focus for long unless a stimulating environment is provided. I decided to reach JV by providing material that is of interest to him. I could look up those words in the Oxford English Dictionary or Websters, or Dictionary.com and give a scientific, perscise and exact answer to these words. And while that tells you what they mean, does that really give their meaning. Well by Dictionary.com s standards respect is a noun that means to hold in esteem or honor, and to show regard or consideration for. And Dictionary.com says that integrity means an adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character, honesty, and the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished as to morality. Each rank is expected to show a certain respect for the ranks above them. In some units a private is expected respect a specialist, while both show respect for their sergeants. This has less to do with the specific people then it does with their experience and respect and of their peers and the people who are situated over them. As soldier we respect the ranks that are above us because their peers and other higher Sergeants have seen something in them. Some form of leadership, or the craftsmanship and mastery of their job that they have found some respect for them, and decided that they deserve to be honored for it. These are people who have seen many soldiers, and been in the Army long enough to recognize these traits in a person, and other people should respect that. Not just because of the office they hold but because of their experience that led them to that office. The Army has kind of got it right, in a way. They view respect as a way that we should act towards each other and treat each other. But Respect is still so much more then that. Julie Rowell Summary Brendan O Keefe Mrs. Vermillion AP Language and Composition 29 March 2017 Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously Summary Julie Powell, the author of her own memoir, was a distraught secretary working at a bureaucratic organization led primarily by Republicans in order to build a memorial to the terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001. To further this misery, she was told that she may be unable to have children in the future. After hearing this news, she and her husband Eric went to her mother s house in Texas where Powell found an old copy of Julia Child s Mastering the Art of French Cooking which reminded her of childhood memories of sneaking looks at and moments with books about sex and cooking she knew she should not read. She was inspired by these memories to cook every recipe in Julia Child s historic and expansive cookbook, in one year. The challenge started well with Powell quickly cooking the first few of the 524 recipes in just one weekend. The word usury is derived from both the Medieval Latin word usuria, meaning interest or excessive interest , and from the Latin word usura, which simply means interest . At that point in time, the definition of usury meant the charging of interest on loans, but over time after the legislation of countries to limit the rate of interest on loans, the definition of usury came to mean the interest above the lawful rate. Another reformist was Silvio Gesell, a successful nineteenth century merchant in Germany and Argentina, who condemned interest on the basis that his sales were more often related to the pride of money than people s needs or the quality of his products (Gesell, 1904). His proposal of making money a public service subject to a use fee led to widespread experimentation in Austria, France, Germany, Spain Switzerland, and the United States under the banner of the so called stamp script movement , but these initiatives were all squashed when their success began to threaten the national banking monopolies (Kennedy, 1995). Not shockingly, Harvey also manages to blame women for [having] no standards and requirements and who suffer from serious self esteem issues, making themselves willing to cheat and available to be cheated on (Harvey et al., pg. 106). The gathering and analysis of intelligence is the driving force in the Central Intelligence agency (CIA). So much so that it s right in the name. So when the CIA begins working on the definition of terrorism, it uses that mission as a driving facture. The CIA describes terrorism as premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents (n.d., para. 6). This is a simple characterization because this is exactly what they are looking for. That part of the description illustrates the specific types of acts the organizations looking to prevent. Because of its mission it also adds the definition of international terrorism as terrorism involving the territory or the citizens of more than one country and terrorist groups as, any group that practices, or has significant subgroups that practice, international terrorism (n.d., para. 6). These add ons highlight the scope of the organization. Unlike the FBI s definition that has heaver legal implications or the State departments which is used for political purposes, the CIA uses its definition to focus its operations. ... • 23. Mardigras This paper is about Mardi Gras, A festival or Carnival celebrated once a year. In this paper I will discuss how Mardi Gras originated, when it is celebrated, how it is celebrated, and what does it mean to all the different cultures. Mardi Gras, in the French speaking parts of the world and in some US southern states is the last day of carnival festivities preceding Lent, the time of penitence observed by Christians in preparation for Easter. Mardi Gras ( Fat Tuesday ) is a French term for Shrove Tuesday, the day before the start of Lent. Before Lent festivities reach the climax on a day in February or March, depending on what date Easter is.(Americana pg. 308) French colonists brought Mardi Gras to America in the early 1700 s. It ... As she sang the song If Ever I Cease To Love, Alexis found himself completely lost to her charms. He trailed her on a tour south and cought up with her in New Orleans. It was almost Mardi Gras and when the local inhabitants discovered a real Grand Duke was to be among them, they sat up and took notice. A new carnival Krewe was elaborated. A new king was named Rex Lord of Misrule. An official holiday was announced and street maskers were forbidden to form a united procession. Carnival colors were chosen purple, green, and gold. At the city hall a throne like chair was erected for Alexis. Alexis arrived on the scene and the parade ensued. Since all the bands knew of his great liking for the song If Ever I Cease To Love, band after band played it. The song has remained an integral part of Mardi Gras. Alexis Alexandrovich had helped to fix the pattern that Mardi Gras would thence forth follow: official holiday, Rex, and If Ever I Cease To Love as its song.(The Folklore of American Holidays pg. 84 97) Mardi Gras in New Orleans attracts tourists from around the world. • 24. Stereotypes Of Teenagers Today Many people have wondered what were the highs and lows of being a teen. It shouldn t be a wonder since everybody was once a teen in their lifetime, but things have changed and I just so happen to know. Teens are constantly bashed and criticized about being lazy and inconsiderate . Even though part of that is true, it doesn t relate to every teen. Let me explain. The hardships teens face today are far different from the teen struggle back in the day. Nowadays we are constantly being forced on how we should be and how we shouldn t. Not only society and social media I blame but I mainly blame the parents. It all starts in the home, your parents either support what you decide to do with your life or they either think the opposite and wants you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Relationship Between Britain And The Colonies Though both are independent nations, the United Kingdom and the United States now share a close bond, and have even been allies during WWI and WWII in the 20th century. But when the colonies of the United States were under British rule, the relations between the Colonies and Britain were not so friendly. The views on government and taxation between the two became radically different and created a large disagreement between the American Patriots and those loyal to Britain. Cracks began to form in the relationship between Britain and the Colonies, and the differences between the two would inevitably result in the American Revolution. Between 1754 and 1763, Britain and French were involved in the French and Indian War, which was a territorial dispute between Britain and France. With the help of the British American colonists, Britain was able to maintain and increase its borders in America, but the funds needed to support the war caused Britain to go into debt ( French and Indian War/Seven Years War 1754 1763 1). Not willing to tax its own citizens any further, Britain decided to tax the American colonies more in order to generate revenue. Before the war, American colonists were paying a fraction of the taxes than those living in Britain, and even after the imposed taxes, the average American would pay less taxes than the average Englishman ( British Acts on Colonial America 1). Even though Americans were paying far less taxes than the British, the sudden enforcement of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. My Greatest Accomplishment Was Being A Three Time... My greatest accomplishment was being a three time heavyweight champion. I got my first title when I was 22. The fight was February 25, 1964 in Miami Beach, Florida. I was a 7 1 underdog against that ugly bear, named Sonny Liston. I told him he was too ugly to be a champion and I should be the Champ because I was young, fast, and handsome. I was right, I beat that ugly bear in the seventh round. Float like a butterfly sting like a bee is what I told that him. After that fight, I won 11 fights before losing the belt to Joe frazier. Then in 1975 I regained the title back by beating him in 15 rounds. I said no one could beat me twice and I meant it. Unfortunately, I later lost it to some chump named Leon Spikes in 15 rounds. Never count me out because I won the title back again one more time. I got revenge on Leon Spikes and got back what was mine in a unanimous decision. I finished my boxing career with a 55 6 record and best of all being called the greatest of all time, which I cannot disagree with. The biggest obstacle people thought I would have, was to overcome being an african american. But I took pride in the fact that I was labeled black. Especially during the time when it was mostly white athletes in professional sports. My biggest obstacle was being a Black Muslim, because the Black Muslims had a bad reputation for hating white people or thinking they were evil. People would automatically assume I felt the same way about white people, but I didn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Role Of Organisms On A Tropical Ecosystem Part B The Role of Organisms A producer in a tropical ecosystem is the plants and trees. A primary consumer in a tropical ecosystem is a squirrel. A secondary consumer in a tropical ecosystem is a jack rabbit. A tertiary consumer in a tropical ecosystem is a mountain lion. A decomposer in a tropical ecosystem is mushrooms, fungi and moss. The predator is the Mountain Lion. The prey is the deer. So the predator and prey relationship is between the mountain lion and the deer. The predator which is the mountain lion hunts for the deer to survive and feed off. The mountain lion is a carnivore and is one of the few at the top of this tropical food chain. The prey which is the deer is a herbivore and feeds of plants and trees. • 29. Identity In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fist The texts Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, as well as Sherman Alexie s The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven all ask us to consider the relationship between rhetoric and identity. When thinking about identity it depends on the person. I would define identity as the key characteristics about each of us that we define ourselves by. How we want to be seen by others, and how we think others see us. What parts of ourselves we choose to keep private and what parts we choose to let people see. What we believe morally and dream wise. Our existence and worth as a human both soul and body which is not determined or differentiated by anything you do or fail to do, but is inherent and vital in you from your ... In the stories the characters will often be in one place out of the ordinary, after that they will be transported back in time to one distinct memory. This sort of thing works in these stories because, it reminds me of how our minds work. It makes me think about how people are not always there. In class sometimes I stare off into space as most people probably do because they are thinking about things. Our dreams and memories drift in and out of our minds throughout the day, and I believe this is what Alexie is trying to demonstrate with the characters in the various stories because it makes them seem more real and it makes the stories seem like they are coming to life. If Alexie did not reply on this rhetoric strategy the characters would collapse and be dull, but the characters is what gives the story life. In the stories the characters go through several dilemmas such as in the first chapter families fighting with each other, substance abuse as well as detestable living conditions. When they search for something it lead many of the characters in his book to imagine, desire, and look for something that they did not already have, and to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Ken Orr Case Study Requirements are often the most misunderstood part of system development. But it is an absolutely critical function. (Robertson 208). In regards to the first statement, I believe Ken Orr meant that from the view point of project leaders understanding how to implement requirements may be misunderstood. Recall, that requirements are obtained from other stake holders. Through this communication, meaning can naturedly be misinterpreted. Also, project leaders often do not have a technical understanding of the project they are developing, therefore not understanding implementation of a require can occur because of this too. That is why, project manager must communicate with other stakeholders to understand requirements and the project they are developing. Lastly, what is a requirement can also be misunderstood by stakeholders that a project manager is working with. This misunderstanding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, requirements also act can act as a guide for development. This is because requirements can outline a sequence of events in a project. Lastly, a project can consist of several requirements. Due to time and budget some requirements may be more essential than others. Recall, there are two types of requirements Functional and Non functional. Based on the reading, Functional requirements are described as something that a project accomplish (Robertson 306). On the other hand, a non functional project is an attribute that a project has (Robertson 306). Therefore, the criteria I would used to prioritize requirements is complete all functional requirements first, followed by non functional requirements that improve or directly related to functional ... To improve these aspects of my performance I will be doing a six week course involving, in particular, a circuit training course, as well as numerous endurance runs and fitness techniques, some of which will be included in my circuit. The main risk of injury is from overusing my right arm and shoulder, which could cause overuse injuries such as tennis elbow . To prevent these as best as possible I will be carrying out thorough warm ups before each session in my programme, and a thorough warm down at the end of each session. The stations in my circuit will vary in length to accommodate my different levels of ability for each of the different stations exercises. The stations in the circuit are all designed in accordance with my weaknesses and other areas of my game that I want to improve on. They are all very different exercises, which helps to relieve tedium, as well as giving resting time from the more tiring activities whilst giving rest from the less arduous ones.
