Essay Bachelor Degree Required
Bachelor Degree Required
Seeking advancement in my company seems to have the term Bachelor Degree Required assigned to
it. Without a degree it s not impossible to be promoted, but it s more of an exception than the norm. At
times, should the applicant have sufficient years of equivalent experience and be known by the group
hiring, the requirement can be waived. With the constant change in company policies, the equivalency
option may be removed. Then what am I going to do? With so many younger people entering the work
place with degrees in hand, it is more and more prevalent that I complete my education.
A college degree combined with several years of experience should help ensure my personal

I need to understand the aspects of critical thinking, and how to apply it. Being able to question who,
what, where, when, why and how is just the beginning. Taking the answers to these questions and
learning how to applying them towards the improvement of business or product is the harder part. For
some change is a hard thing to accept. The problem of implementing a change is often more human
than technical. How to install changes and have the changes accepted is a skill I need to improve
upon.
In management you must have the ability to correctly identify the personality traits of others.
Identifying these traits helps identify the type of management that will be required. Understanding the
tendencies of your staff will help in the management of them. Having a good blend of personality
traits working one project will be more beneficial than having to many of the same type. The adage To
many Chiefs and not enough Indians applies throughout the work place.
Overall, I am seeking knowledge that will help me be a competent manager.
How do you anticipate the program helping you in your current position, and what will be your
ambitions/goals once you complete our program?
The education received from Phoenix University will provide the stepping stones to life long learning
abilities. Many of the leaders in today s market place have forgotten to learn. They need to remember

Interview With Croatia Research Paper
For this assignment, I had the pleasure to interview Jane, from Split, Croatia. The second largest city
in Croatia most well known for its appealing baches fortresslike complex at its center. Jane is 20 years
old and attends University of California, Santa Barbara, where I had the privilege to meet her through
a mutual friend.
Jane was 13 years old when she, her mother and father first stepped foot into the United States. Jane s
family a traditional one, a mother and a father, her father a project manager for the IT Specialist at a

they take their time there is no rush, verse here where people are so caught up in this desire to have
what they want when they want it. Everything is moving at the speed of light, from flying instead of
driving, online shopping instead of physically going to the store and even social media, tweeting and
liking pictures versus face to face interaction, people are always doing something, always waiting on
the next thing to come. Jane said that was also a hard concept to adapt to. Aside from the fast pace life
American s live, special events in Croatia are differed from here. In Croatia turning 18 is as excited

Canada s Policy Difference Of The United States Essay
Canada s policy difference
The assessment of Canada s housing policy is based more upon the need of its citizen versus the right.
Over the years, homelessness has developed in size and complication in Canada (Gaetz, Tarasuk,
Dachner, Kirkpatrick, 2006). Originally, the homeless crisis was a major concern of urban centers like
Montreal, Laval, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto, but rising frequency of homelessness in
the suburbs is compelling an immediate response (Laird, 2007). In response to the surmounting
homelessness that Canada is facing, the Federal Government of Canada proposed $120 million
annually from April 2014 until April 2019 with $700 million in new funding to renew its
Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) in Action Plan 2011(Government of Canada, 2016). The
response to the surmounting threat of homelessness is comparable to the response the United States
taken with the PATH policy. Similar to the United States policy, Canada s response is community
based to the need of the citizen afflicted. However, there are key differences in policy such as the
PATH policy offers outreach services, screening and diagnostic treatment services, and case
management services that are more individual intensive (Benefits.Gov, 2016).
Canada s policies addressing homelessness
There are several policies that Canada have in place in order to safeguard against homelessness. There
are the Homelessness Partnering Strategy, Canada s Economic Action Plan 2013, and Canada s

Of Michaelangelo Merisi Da Caravaggio s Young Sick Bacchus
Wine and Rome have an intertwined history, both developing and expanding together. Wine is an
integral part of Italian daily life, it was even consumed regularly in ancient times and was a staple of
social life. Viticulture began as early as 1200 BC and continued to grow into what it is today
(Lorenzo). Therefore, wine is just as old as Rome itself. Throughout Rome s history, it is clear that
wine plays an important role in art and in daily social life. It is integral to understand the importance
of wine in order to grasp the basics of Roman daily life as it was thousands of years ago. In art, wine
is depicted in various ways either through gods, grapes, symbols, or quite simply, a cup of wine. In
Michaelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio s painting created in 1594 entitled Young Sick Bacchus, wine is
portrayed through the representation of the Roman god of wine, Bacchus (also referred to as
Dionysus) (Aronson). Young Sick Bacchus demonstrates how important wine was due to the fact that
it is being represented through a god with an interesting history and religion that can be explored, and
it also gives a glimpse into the history of Italy s most renowned artist, Caravaggio. This paper will

Apple s Impact On The Computer Industry
Executive Summary Apple has been the leading force in innovation for the past couple of years, not
only does it dominate the mobile phone industry, it has also transformed the computer industry too.
With millions of people using their products today, Apple is one of the most successful companies in
the world. However, Apple did not come all this way from nothing. It suffered ups and downs just like
any other company, with this being said, the way Apple dealt with its problems was the difference
between it and any other company. Apple is strong today because of the way that it was built by its co
founder Steve jobs. With his leadership skills, the culture he put into place and the socialization
process of the new employees, incorporating them into the company s beliefs and values, were just
building blocks to the bigger picture. Apple is also successful due to the fact that it has good
communication within it that improved after a specific incident in the past by implementing what is
known as a Direct Responsible Individual (DRI). A mistake at Apple will almost never go unpunished
and because of this, Apple employees perform at 110%.
Apple s Elements of Success:

Explain The Sliding Filament Theory Of Muscle Action
The sliding filament theory of a muscle action has five phases. The first phase is resting. In this phase
there is no calcium available to bind the myosin to the actin. This is the normal state of the muscle
until activated by the excitatory phase. During this second phase, the sarcoplasmic reticulum becomes
stimulated. This releases calcium ions and binds with troponin. This is a protein that is strung along
the actin filaments. Tropomyosin runs along the actin filaments. The actin is pulled closer to the
sarcomere. The contraction phase is when it gets interesting. ATP is broken down into ADP in order to
create energy for the contraction. To return to the normal state of the muscle, ATP replaces ADP and
aids in detachment of the myosin cross

Analysis Of In The Park By Gwen Harwood
Poetry. A seemingly simple word to the eye, but is one of the most fundamental and interesting
concepts of English. The beauty of poetry is that each one of us in this room could have a different
perception on any poem. It can make you angry, sad or happy, It depends on how you interpret the
words. Today I ll be breaking down the elements included in Gwen Harwood s In the Park and how
women are viewed. Generally, women can be depicted as poor or wealthy, nasty and aggressive or
compassionate and affectionate, intelligent or dumbfounded, loyal or unfaithful. Roles of women
include Mothers, daughters, Aunties or housewives just to name a few.
In the Park is an engaging and eye opening poem published in early 1960 s. The author of the Poem,
Gwen Harwood, is Australian born and is often regarded as one of Australia s finest poets. Her work is
primarily situated on the subject of motherhood. Through her poems, such as In the Park and
Suburban Sonnet she shows the hardships and inner struggles that mothers encounter. The underlying
message of the poem is showing how a young mother feels as though her children have deprived her
of happiness and she regrets the life she has chosen. The theme of motherhood is prevalent in this
poem however it shows the alternative side. The dominant view is usually one where the mother
shows the purest, undeniable and strong love for her children. Harwood explains the side of
motherhood which is not joyous but overwhelming and tiring. Throughout it is made clear that wants
to expose the reader to the truth that is often concealed about motherhood.
In the park represents a young mother who has essentially lost her purpose and sense of happiness due
to her children. The poem is from the mother s perspective and her struggles however do not include
the children s viewpoint.
Following from the handout, the first line which states, She sits in the park. Her clothes out of date.
Parks are commonly known as a place of relaxation, therefore, this sentence is creating imagery. The
second sentence in the line her clothes out of date is a metaphor. A metaphor is a figure of speech
when a phrase is applied to an object which isn t applicable. Clothes being the object as they can not

Essay On Barefoot Running
Our bodies goes through repetitive forces of impact each day. Anything from stepping off a curb to
landing after a jump contributes the impact our bodies withstand daily. Aside from the impact due to
daily routine, runners add an extra amount of force during exercise. The most basic cause of injury
while running is considered to be ground reaction force. Ground reaction force is the force that the
ground exerts on the body during contact. while wearing shoes throughout the day we are
experiencing a change in strike pattern. In the book Born to Run, the writers suggest that running with
shoes has an effect on landing pattern of the foot during running. It also suggest that barefoot runners
have naturally shorter strides and higher cadence. This reduction of stride had been shown to reduce
the possibility of hip and knee injuries due to less pressure on the joints. In the article Prospective
comparison of running injuries between shod and barefoot runners, the authors suggest that running
barefoot would result in less injuries and is a healthier alternative to Shod running. Theories of

Research Paper On Mexico Sandals
The Mexican people are becoming more and more sensitive to obesity with the government not only
encouraging the citizens to eat well (eat fresh foods) but also encouraging the population to stay in
shape (regular exercise). The Mexican women and men especially in the lower age groups the need to

Classical Music Appreciation Essay
One thing I m grateful for in my life is growing up with a background in classical music appreciation.
I remember my parents had a record of Prokofiev s Peter and the Wolf at home, and I would listen to it
all the time. The depth of the music was fascinating to my little brain, especially compared to the
childish Disney songs and bubblegum pop hits of the 90 s that I d otherwise hear on the radio. But the
reason why this work helped me with understanding music was that it was specifically aimed at kids
in order to teach them how to pick out leitmotifs, or unique, repeated phrases in the songs. Leitmotifs

Summary Of Ulysses S. Polk s War

History 17

Grant and Mr. Polk s War
Prior to his death in 1885, Ulysses S. Grant penned his personal biography which included a Memoir
on the Mexican War. Grant s memoir conveyed to the American public an unrestricted view of his
objection to the Mexican American War. Grant, who eventually went on to command Union armies in
the Civil War, questioned his nation s right to invade its weaker neighbor. Appalled by the manner in
which America initiated the war and the events which followed, Grant later hailed the war as being
one of the most unjust ever waged by a stronger nation against a weaker nation (Foner 468). His
memoir brought to light the ways in which Americans profaned Mexican laws while ... Show more

In April of 1846, President Polk dispatched General Zachary Taylor to move American soldiers to into
the region between the Nueces River and Rio Grande (Foner 468). According to Grant, the
mobilization of U.S. troops into the disputed territory beyond the Nueces was an antagonistic act set in
motion to intimidate Mexico and force them into initiating war. He affirms that although the land itself
had immeasurable wealth, it could have been obtained by other means (Grant). A large number of
Americans agreed with Grant, viewing the move against Mexico as an act of hostility against a weaker
nation to satisfy the United States and President Polk s desire for more land. Among the war s critics,
was Congressman Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was skeptical of the motives behind the invasion of
Mexico, citing it as unconstitutional and questioning the validity behind Polk s claim of American
casualties at the hands of Mexican soldiers (Foner 468). The intention behind the war became apparent
when newly acquired territories allowed for slavery. Texas adopted slavery protection laws and
created additional laws that denied civil rights to people of color while California courts allowed
Indian children and orphans to be sold into slavery (Foner 471,473). Grant s narrative asserts his
shared skepticism behind the United States invasion of Mexico and his disapproval

The prayer was meant to help kids calm down with fear, and trust that God will protect them through

The lullaby is traditional too real to soothe an anxious or crying child. In this version, it s uncertain
whether it s The Sandman or the parent who is singing. Whereas the first line follows the traditional
lullaby, the following lines hints to a boogeyman or something to be afraid of. This could be child s

Coming To America Passage Analysis
Welcoming. Belonging. Sense of Purpose. Everyone wants that. Without it we feel naked, incomplete.
Ultimately, it is what mankind really strives for. While food, water, and shelter are important, there is
no purpose to life without that sense of belonging. Kao and her family never really felt belonged
anywhere, and they struggled to feel a sense of purpose in their home .
My favorite passage in the book, is when Kao is telling her story of her adjustment of coming to
America. This passage is part of the third section of the book, The American Years. In the section, Kao
and her family had just arrived in their new tiny home in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While they had
training of what to expect from America, it did not prepare them well enough for what was to come.
Their arrival was anything but welcoming as they were greeted with ... Show more content on

In the passage, Kao says, For the first year and a half, we wanted to be invisible (112). This is my
favorite passage because it is really jaw dropping to see that after all Kao and her family had been
through they wanted to stay invisible in America for the first year and a half that they were afraid of
being who they are, Hmong. Back in their old home they were accustomed to frequent bombings,
disease, malnourishment, and so much physical pain. But here, their biggest fear being in the US is the
hatred and racism that is targeted on them. Day after day it s a struggle for Kao s family. For many
immigrants, America has always been projected as the Golden Gate . A place where one would no
longer struggle for their family and if you worked hard enough one can accomplish anything.
Malnourishment, clean air, and safety would no longer keep you up at night. And at the start of Kao s
American journey, it was hard to see if any positive opportunity would arise. But it would, as they
didn t let the hard work or racism get to them. Kao s parents would

Essay about The Underlying Causes of Teen Pregnancy
Before successfully preventing teen pregnancies among teenage girls, there are many underlying
causes and facts about the dilemma that must be first exposed. Children from homes run by teenage
mothers have to face almost insurmountable obstacles in life. The incidents of depression and mental
health problems, the lack of father figures, and the high rate of poverty often connected to children in
homes run by teenage mothers put them at serious disadvantages when compared to children raised in
nuclear families. Many people believe that the implementation of sex education in schools and the
addition of more federal aid for single parents are major causes for the country s high rate of teen
pregnancies. The true purpose of sex education and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Psychology Today, 2003) Girls who see their single mothers date many partners may become primed
for early sexual exploration. Or, a father s absence early in life may trigger doubts in girls about male
reliability that hasten sexual activity and reproduction, as well as promote a preference for brief
relationships.
Juvenile abuse of alcohol and other drugs is strongly associated with risk taking behavior, including
promiscuity. According to the 1999 National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) study
quot;Dangerous Liaisons, quot; increased promiscuity leads to a greater risk for sexually transmitted
diseases and unplanned teenage pregnancy (National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse 1999).
Adolescents aged fourteen and younger who use alcohol are twice more likely to engage in sexual
behaviors than non drinkers; drug users are five times more likely to be sexually active than youth
who are drug free. Teens between the age of fifteen and nineteen who drink are seven times more
likely to have sex and twice as likely to have four or more partners than those who refrain from
alcohol. Furthermore, more than 50 percent of teenagers say that sex while drinking or on drugs often
produces unplanned pregnancies. An Ohio study of high school girls who tried cocaine indicated that
these adolescents were five times more likely to have experienced an unintended pregnancy than peers
who avoided

Asian Women
Nevertheless, many Asian women in particular struggle to adopt status within the society as they are
not heteronormative enough. There are many reasons why Asian women perform cosmetic surgery in
order to look white in an attempt to attain the framework of heteronormativity. One of the reasons why
Asian women want to look white is through gaining benefit in finding a partner. Based on a study of
692 undergraduates, the study has found that white women are more likely to be asked out compared
to non white women. White women have a staggering percentage of 40 percent while non white
women have roughly about 28 percent (Knox Schacht, 2012). Another study conducted from

The media seeks to reinforce the framework of heteronormativity through the lifestyle held by
hegemonic social norms. The public s attitude to cosmetic surgery is heavily influenced by the crucial
role of the sociocultural in particular to the promotion of the body and beauty in the mass media
(Moon, 2015). Within the global media, the image of Asian women is fixed towards depicting social
qualities as exotic, feminine, and seductive. Due to these depictions of Asian women in the media,
Asian women are seen as dolls. In addition, Asian women are not portrayed as humans compared to
white women (Hall, 1995). This negative image of observing Asian women as inferior humans further
affect Asian women status within the concept of heteronormativity. Therefore, Asian women perform
cosmetic surgery to look white in order to alter their image and gain their power. The role of the mass
media contributes strong self images that correspond with the consumer culture, in regard to the desire
to buy the ideal beauty commodity (Askegaard, Gertsen, Langer, 2015). Since western beauty is
strongly penetrating within almost every edge of the media in Asia. The beauty ideal of Asia is largely
westernized through the extent where most models or celebrities are western or look western. With
this implementation, Western and domestic models that are embodied to western features are heavily
promoted along the goods in the Asian Market (Kim, 2003). According to Li, Min, and Belk (2008),
having pale white skin is perceived as a symbol of flawless, luxury, and prestige in the Asian cultures.
Whiteness is a source of cultural capital that is related with upper class images (Bourdieu, 1984). In

What Does Inherit The Wind Symbolize
Three symbols from the play and how they illustrate an idea or a theme. Many people often do not
attempt to understand the meaning of what a symbol represents. In the play Inherit The Wind, a
symbol represents something more abstract or different than what the reader originally had thought.
Many symbols were used throughout this play, like the monkey, which symbolizes evolution and the
bizarreness and extravagance of the trial. Similarly, the golden dancer symbolizes that all that glitters
is not gold and that looks can be deceiving. Furthermore, reverend Brown symbolizes the towns
beliefs and is an example of someone who is overly overzealous. Evidently, Inherit The Wind, consists

Nutella Makes Up for Cocoa Shortage During World War II
The period was World War II there was a shortage of cocoa at the time; Mr. Pietro Ferrero, a pastry
maker founder of the Ferrero company thought that using hazelnuts and mixing it with skim milk and
a little of chocolate would be a good way to appease the short supply of cocoa by allowing chocolate
to last longer. This still being the product s two main ingredients today; hazelnut and cocoa. In Italy,
during the 1940s; Mr. Ferrero created the Nutella spread. In its earliest form, Nutella a hazel nut and
chocolate spread was originally called pasta Gianduja this of course was the Italian term, pasta means
paste and the Gianduja was the name of a famous character in the region in Italy. The paste was first
introduced by being made in the loaves of bread wrapped in tinfoil, used to make sandwiches. A
product popular to children, the bread was tossed away and the paste was most favored. Later workers
decided it would be best if the spread was made easier to spread on the bread then being known as
Supercrema Gianduja , thus being processed in large jars with a yellow sticker on the middle and a red
lid. Soon after in 1964 Pasta Gianduja or Supercrema Gianduja the product was named Nutella: nut
being the origin of the product and ella a soft Italian term.
Nutella rapidly became popular among Italy. Just 25 years ago, in 1983 the Ferrero Company
introduced the product to the United States market and it was first imported to the Northeastern part of

Spider Man Homecoming Analysis
Spider Man: Homecoming Review When asked what makes the character of Spider Man so popular,
most people would probably say that it is due to his relatability. Peter Parker is just a kid, like all of us
are or were, and that instantly makes him accessible to a wide audience. However, I never thought
about that when I was a child. I grew up on the Sam Raimi films, which I still hold near and dear to
my heart. I suppose I wasn t smart enough at the time to realize the massive appeal of the Spider Man
character. For me, Spider Man was just cool because of his colorful costume and his amazing powers.
I was just a kid who loved awesome superheroes, and Spidey checked that box. Having graduated
high school and preparing for college, I am now more aware of subtleties and nuances in film, while
still retaining that childlike excitement for massive blockbusters. I have been anticipating the latest
Spidey film for a very long time, and upon viewing the film twice, I ve realized a glorious truth. For
the first time in my life, at the age of 18, I finally related to the character on a deeper level than I ever
thought possible, and that is what makes this film shine. Spider Man: Homecoming is the 16th
installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the 3rd reboot of the titular character in less than 20
years. Directed by Jon Watts, the film stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya,
Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr., among others. Quite frankly, Homecoming is the

John Keats s Ode To A Nightingale And Romantic Expressivism

ENGL 204
Dr. Callis
John Keats s Ode to a Nightingale and Romantic Expressivism John Keats s Ode to a Nightingale is
one of the most recognized and studied pieces of poetry from the 19th century, with the critic Allen
Tate even going on to say that this ode at least tries to say everything that a poet can say (Vendler).
Keats was an educated writer and knew very well what he was talking about and was able to do
amazing things with a simple string of words. Keats s piece is written in the time of Romantic
Expressivism and every word that he writes inside of Ode to a Nightingale accurately portrays the
themes and concepts of this time period briefness of our time on earth, mortality, a different and
sometimes confusing look at the world around us (whether through our own eyes or some force on
us), nature and all of its beauty, and the words that contain the strength to transport the reader to
another place or time. In order to understand Keats s Ode to a Nightingale and how it connects to
Romantic Expressivism, we first need to understand what Romantic Expressivism is and how it was
created. The last major poet to write in the 18th Century was Alexander Pope. He believed over was
built into the universe inside of the great chain of being. He believed there was a natural order
stretching down from God and the angels to the lowest form of life on earth. After him, writers, such
as Keats, came along to question this thought and

Absurdism In The Absurd Theatre
Absurdity
The absurd theatre is another movement that emerged as a reaction against the old methods of culture
and literature. In fact, the idea of the absurd is not new but it roots in the history of human beings.
Absurdity in life is primordial and not the invention of the theatre. With the beginning of life, man is
struggling against it to find a solution. The efforts are aimed at a meaningful life and human being s
interrelationship with the universe. It is an eternal struggle between the two. Thus, the absurdity is not
the product of any one factor but it generates through the inevitable dependency. Albert Camus, in his

The older you get the more medical problems you have. The older you get the more you body starts to
break down. That s why it is so important to maintain a healthy life style while you are growing. If
you didn t take care of your body while you was young it will be hard to maintain good health when

keeping the body in good shape. When you are young you do want to live in the moment, but that is

The Woman Warrior By Maxine Hong Kingston
Throughout the novel The Woman Warrior, by Maxine Hong Kingston, the past is incorporated into
the present through talk stories combined into each chapter. Kingston uses talk stories, to examine the
intermingling of Chinese myths and lived experiences. These stories influence the life of the narrator
as the past is constantly spoken about from the time she is young until the novel ends and she becomes
an adult. Kingston incorporates two cultures. She is not a direct recipient of Chinese culture, but she
has her own sense of talk story, that she learns from her mother, which tells the old Chinese stories
with a sense of myth, in a new American way. This is a way of weaving two cultures together,
bringing the Chinese past into her present American life. Chapter one titled, No Name Woman , is an
example of the narrator referring to her mother s talk stories and a prominent illustration of
incorporating the past into the present. This talk story is culturally based to express information about
the past. In No Name Women , the narrator explains that her mother, Brave Orchid, would use the
stories to give lessons on life that would stick with her children. She represents a bridge figure with
one foot in the past, her Chinese culture that she relays on to the family and one foot in the present,
her assimilation to American life. The bridge that Brave Orchid acts as brings together the two
cultures and allows her to incorporate the family s Chinese history into their present

German Unification Of Germany
German unification was a changing aspect in European history because of the fact that Germany was
reliant on their leader Bismarck. Before unification Germany was isolated into thirty nine individual
states, which was united in a procedure that began in 1849 and finished in 1871.The principal architect
of unification was a German statesman, Otto Von Bismarck. Bismarck #39;s main aim was to unite the
German states into one capable nation and gain control for Prussia. He was beginning to create and
refine his claim political logic, quot;Realpolitik quot;. This was summed up in the statement he made:
quot; The only sound foundation of a great state is state egoism and not romanticism it is unworthy of
a great state to fight for something in which it has no interest. quot; He aimed at making Prussia the
leader of Germany, and
Germany the leading nation of Europe. Therefore, he promised to utilize the strategies for quot;blood
and iron quot; to bring all the German nation together under the Prussian monarchy.
There were three short Prussian wars during the nineteenth century which brought about the
unification of the German states. The war against Denmark (1864), The Austro Prussian War (1866),
and
The Franco Prussian war (1870 1871). The importance of the war against Denmark was that it was a
means of gaining the help of Prussia towards the new army reforms. The war against Austria brought

Innovative policing strategies, increased reliance on prisons, changes in crack and other drug markets,
age of the population, tougher gun control laws, strong economy, increased number of police, and all

was in fact not a cause. His next set of groups were a tougher gun laws and changes in crack and other
drug markets. Tougher gun laws was actually in fact not a cause of the crime drop and he supports this
by providing an example of Switzerland, whom have the more firearms per capita, yet is one of the
safest places in the world. On the other hand, changes in crack and other drug markets have in fact
caused a decrease in crime rate due to the price drop in crack which caused teens and dealers to

Demographic change was the largest cause in the crime drop rate. Many assume that a larger age
population would be the cause, but he explains that it was in fact the legalization of abortion that was

John Winthrop And James Madison
From the beginning, America has been a safe place for the fostering and cultivating of new thoughts
and ideologies, but not without repercussion. This is evident in the life of both John Winthrop and
James Madison. From early on in their political careers, both leaders faced political opposition. John
Winthrop left familiarity in search of religious freedom and the pursuit of a life pleasing to God.
James Madison, in creativity, thought of an entirely renovated way to successfully restructure the
government of a nation that acted more as separate states. By using their backgrounds as a driving
force for innovation they renovate governmental systems and lead the people from the ground up,
inspired by Reformation and republicanism. Their implementation of government was different in
emphasis, but the republican ideals behind it were the same. In Edmund S. Morgan s, The Puritan
Dilemma, it was evident that John Winthrop focused his entire life around glorifying God, in turn
creating a government that did the same. This ideology translated into the way he shaped and
structured Puritan society. Winthrop first focused on the formation of a community of unity and
harmony, then built a government that fostered it. All of the governmental structures in place were
supporting one main focus of the Puritan society being a city on a hill. Citation Further, Puritan
society was to act as an example for the surrounding colonies of godly living. Harmony was backed
by their ideals of

Similarities Between Kantian Ethics And Utilitarianism
As the world witnessed the horrors of 9/11 and the ensuing Global War on Terror committed by
different belligerents, it found itself in an ethical debate as how it was to respond to this reality. The
Church found itself in a particularly peculiar situation as it is widely regarded as a moral compass a
majority of all people of earth.
In an attempt to tackle the ethical and moral issues with the question of whether or not to sanction an
armed effort to defend against terrorism, the Church very often referred back to its received normative
ethical framework for the justification of war, namely the Just War theory. The pope used Just War
Theory as an argument against the American led invasion of Iraq in 2003. At the same time, five
leading evangelical Christian leaders outlined their support for the invasion in what is know as the

Before Kant, the philosophical thinkers of the day had slowly been shifting from Platonic and
Aristotelian virtue ethics towards a consequentialist view in which people were seen as means towards
an arbitrary end. This rejection of utilitarian and consequentialist systems holds a strong appeal to the
Christian for many reasons, and numerous similarities between Kantian philosophy and ideas of many
Christians can be noticed in several areas. One example of this is Kant s idea of good will which
resonates closely with Christian virtue ethics. Another Kantian idea is that moral truth can be
determined by man, a concept which is reminiscent of Aquinas practice of regarding reason as a mean
to arrive at the natural law. For example, Kant s idea of good will approximates the virtue ethics held
by many Christians, and his belief that moral truths can be determined by man echoes Aquinas
commitment to using reason to arrive at the natural law.(repetetive last

Criticism Of Andrew Clark An American Politician From The...
I am sure you would agree with me when I say we cannot escape the inevitability
(in ev i ta bility) of criticism. Aristotle once said, Criticism is something we can avoid easily by saying
nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing. But I beg to disagree because people will criticize you for
saying nothing, doing nothing and being nothing. Someone once said, Criticism is the muck in which
the plants of the Lord grow strong and no child of God should fear Criticism. Criticism has the
potential to help believers in their spiritual growth? Listen to what Frank Clark an American politician
from the early 1900s said, Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man s growth
without destroying his roots.
Criticism comes in two forms, destructive and constructive. They are both self explanatory.
Nevertheless, destructive criticism has the potential for spiritual growth but that would depend on the
receiver. Destructive criticism can make us look inwardly ask the deep question, is it true of me. If the
criticism levied is true, then do what needs to be done to correct it. If the criticism is malicious then
ignore it and make sure you do not give your critics ammunition to prove their point.
I would admit that criticism is not always easy to handle. People can be crude but always remember
we are not responsible for the actions of others. We will only answer to God for our actions. The
gospel is bigger than our feelings and has serious implications for mankind. So

Stereotypes In African American Films
Throughout this chapter, Korgen main arguments pertained to the media s portrayal of Black and
White biracial characters in movies. Typically the media portrays people with lighter skin to have
more positive characteristics while people with darker skin more negative characteristics. Media is
one first place young children get these images from and it can have a huge impression on them
without even knowing it. They are placed within this social class of existence. Viewers tend to pay the
most attention to characters who share their age, race, and gender and those they wish they could be
like (Korgen, 2010, pg. 89). Biracial Americans go through the toughest scrutiny by both races on
whether they fit into either group. I know my brother and sister have this issue from the time they
were little especially my sister, she is lighter skinned and was never truly accepted by the black or
white girls at school.
On the other hand, the media tends to act as if race does not matter that it is something from the past.
Our society is often portrayed as color blind, a place in which racism does not exist, and where race is
not important (Korgen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s no secret that since the beginning of America s history, media has played a huge role in how we
perceive people, especially in Hollywood. For instance, the majority of box office hits over the last
century have featured all white casts. Yet the ones predominantly featuring African Americans, rarely
become a box office success. I believe that racism and white supremacy in the media are so entangled
into the core of America s culture that they have become virtually unrecognizable. We as the
consumers don t even realize that having these images constantly being thrown at us is hurting people.
The fact that since the Civil Rights Act over 50 years ago we are still fighting for equality, says a lot
about just how far we still have to

What Is A Marvel Hero
Marvel Comics Did you know that there are well over 1,000 Marvel characters? Marvel started off as
Timely Comics, then Atlas Comics, and finally Marvel Comics. Disney owns part of Marvel
Entertainment, which owns Marvel Comics. Marvel Comics make comic books, which is a magazine
that shows things happening through pictures with text bubbles. Marvel is associated with Stan Lee,
superheroes, and villains. Now on to the history of Marvel. Stan Lee plays a big role in Marvel
history. Stanley Martin Lieber was born on December 28, 1922 ( Stan Lee ). When Stan Lee was 17
years old, he got a job working as an office assistant for Timely Comics in 1939. He became an
interim editor in the early 1940 s. In 1961 Stan was asked to create a superhero team to compete with
DC s Justice League. Stan and Jack Kirby came up with the Fantastic Four, and later on the Hulk,
Doctor Strange, Daredevil, Spider Man, and the X Men ( Stan Lee ). Now I will talk about some
Marvel heroes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Rodgers, and he was 6 2 tall. He used to be smaller, but he had a super soldier serum injected into him

jumped onto a plane, but Captain America couldn t hold on and fell into the icy waters below as the
plane blew up. Eventually, the Avengers found him alive in the ice several years later, and he joined

Comparison Between Group D And Group C
What is seen in the data is that there is not a steady decline in the reaction time when you compare
each column to the previous or next respectively. The time increases when comparing Group A to
Group B, but not Group B to Group C. The same also applies to Group C to Group D and then a
decrease from Group D to Group E. Figure 1 shows a clearer picture of the RT when compared to all
of the reaction time. Even though the time decreases in some areas, there is clear increase or RT when
looking from the youngest to olderst. When looking at the graph, there is statistical significance in
some of the areas and not in others. All data was calculated at a 95% confidence level. The difference
from Group A to Group B is only 0.2538 seconds, but when the data is compared to each other, the
probability (P Value) is 0.000287. This is a significant difference between the two. From Group B to
Group C, there is a 0.01 second decrease in time, which has a P Value of 0.4698. This is not a
statistical difference and leaves room for this time to not be a normal outcome. Group C and Group D
has a 0.2289 seconds increase, but when calculated with the raw data, there is no significant difference
with a P Value of 0.0833. Group D to Group E is a 0.1252 decrease with a P Value of 0.3719 making it
not significant. Group E to Group F has a 0.6351 second increase with a P Value of 0.0535 also not
making it significant. The last groups, Group F and Group H has a 0.7647 increase but is also

Argumentative Essay On Stray Cats
I think many students attitude towards the stray cat is irrational. We had interviewed with 50
students.50% of them admitted that when they meet a stray cat, will try to touch them.In fact,it s
dangerous, stray cats are very aggressive.Researchers at the federal Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention say, efforts to care for abandoned cats could mean more humans will be exposed to rabies,
Approximately 300 rabid cats are reported each year in the United States, says Jesse Blanton, a CDC
epidemiologist. The CDC estimates that 16% of people in the United States who undergo rabies
treatment are exposed to the deadly virus from cats. They must be treated with a series of shots.

A person living in New York who commits aggravated cruelty against a stray cat or animal can receive
a fine of up to $5,000 dollars and five years of imprisonment.Animal Abandonment Laws: Leaving the
animal to die in a public place, the owner is guilty of a misdemeanor and will receive punishment in
the form of a fine, possible imprisonment or both. (Animal Cruelty Laws) [7] They also have
professional organizations to carry out related activities. They can treat stray animals scientifically as
well.So I think China should learn some good practices from abroad.
The problem of stray cats on STU is urgently needed.According to such a purpose,we made a Project
to enhance the Community.in this mission, we were also refer to some of their practices in protecting
the stray animal.First,we did some publicity by making posters and leaflets, appealing to the students
to rationally treat stray cats. They should not hurt them or get too close to them.Second,we will ask the
school leader to pay attention to the stray cats problem on campus. We had wrote an article and sent e
mail to the headmaster Jiang Hong. Finally,we also try to call for legislation to protect stray
animals. We wrote some suggestions, and posted it on the government website. And i also got in touch
with the animal protection organization in Shantou, they promise trying to cooperate with our school.

Importance of IT Support Systems
Form of support is one of the important aspects in every organization. People in support team have
responsible for helping, distributing, and maintaining the condition of computer and customer or user
satisfaction including hardware, software, and multimedia resources. By helping students, and staff in
the faculty about the correct way to use the technology, they also gives a one to one contact for end
user support. Support team provide offers for a wide range of services including help desk, call center,
audiovisual distribution, manage computer labs, electronic hardware in the classrooms, and
knowledge about technology. According to Bryan Ruby (2007), it is unlikely to find a single person in
any modern office that could not be considered a user of IT. Most organizations nowadays provide
services to their employees or user with some level of support for IT systems and the method used to
provide the support from one company to another. On the other hand, user support function or on to

  • 5. Canada s Policy Difference Of The United States Essay Canada s policy difference The assessment of Canada s housing policy is based more upon the need of its citizen versus the right. Over the years, homelessness has developed in size and complication in Canada (Gaetz, Tarasuk, Dachner, Kirkpatrick, 2006). Originally, the homeless crisis was a major concern of urban centers like Montreal, Laval, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto, but rising frequency of homelessness in the suburbs is compelling an immediate response (Laird, 2007). In response to the surmounting homelessness that Canada is facing, the Federal Government of Canada proposed $120 million annually from April 2014 until April 2019 with $700 million in new funding to renew its Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) in Action Plan 2011(Government of Canada, 2016). The response to the surmounting threat of homelessness is comparable to the response the United States taken with the PATH policy. Similar to the United States policy, Canada s response is community based to the need of the citizen afflicted. However, there are key differences in policy such as the PATH policy offers outreach services, screening and diagnostic treatment services, and case management services that are more individual intensive (Benefits.Gov, 2016). • 8. Of Michaelangelo Merisi Da Caravaggio s Young Sick Bacchus Wine and Rome have an intertwined history, both developing and expanding together. Wine is an integral part of Italian daily life, it was even consumed regularly in ancient times and was a staple of social life. Viticulture began as early as 1200 BC and continued to grow into what it is today (Lorenzo). Therefore, wine is just as old as Rome itself. Throughout Rome s history, it is clear that wine plays an important role in art and in daily social life. It is integral to understand the importance of wine in order to grasp the basics of Roman daily life as it was thousands of years ago. In art, wine is depicted in various ways either through gods, grapes, symbols, or quite simply, a cup of wine. In Michaelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio s painting created in 1594 entitled Young Sick Bacchus, wine is portrayed through the representation of the Roman god of wine, Bacchus (also referred to as Dionysus) (Aronson). Young Sick Bacchus demonstrates how important wine was due to the fact that it is being represented through a god with an interesting history and religion that can be explored, and it also gives a glimpse into the history of Italy s most renowned artist, Caravaggio. • 10. Explain The Sliding Filament Theory Of Muscle Action The sliding filament theory of a muscle action has five phases. The first phase is resting. In this phase there is no calcium available to bind the myosin to the actin. This is the normal state of the muscle until activated by the excitatory phase. During this second phase, the sarcoplasmic reticulum becomes stimulated. This releases calcium ions and binds with troponin. This is a protein that is strung along the actin filaments. Tropomyosin runs along the actin filaments. The actin is pulled closer to the sarcomere. The contraction phase is when it gets interesting. ATP is broken down into ADP in order to create energy for the contraction. To return to the normal state of the muscle, ATP replaces ADP and aids in detachment of the myosin cross ... • 11. Analysis Of In The Park By Gwen Harwood Poetry. A seemingly simple word to the eye, but is one of the most fundamental and interesting concepts of English. The beauty of poetry is that each one of us in this room could have a different perception on any poem. It can make you angry, sad or happy, It depends on how you interpret the words. Today I ll be breaking down the elements included in Gwen Harwood s In the Park and how women are viewed. Generally, women can be depicted as poor or wealthy, nasty and aggressive or compassionate and affectionate, intelligent or dumbfounded, loyal or unfaithful. Roles of women include Mothers, daughters, Aunties or housewives just to name a few. In the Park is an engaging and eye opening poem published in early 1960 s. The author of the Poem, Gwen Harwood, is Australian born and is often regarded as one of Australia s finest poets. Her work is primarily situated on the subject of motherhood. Through her poems, such as In the Park and Suburban Sonnet she shows the hardships and inner struggles that mothers encounter. The underlying message of the poem is showing how a young mother feels as though her children have deprived her of happiness and she regrets the life she has chosen. The theme of motherhood is prevalent in this poem however it shows the alternative side. The dominant view is usually one where the mother shows the purest, undeniable and strong love for her children. Harwood explains the side of motherhood which is not joyous but overwhelming and tiring. Throughout it is made clear that wants to expose the reader to the truth that is often concealed about motherhood. In the park represents a young mother who has essentially lost her purpose and sense of happiness due to her children. The poem is from the mother s perspective and her struggles however do not include the children s viewpoint. Following from the handout, the first line which states, She sits in the park. Her clothes out of date. Parks are commonly known as a place of relaxation, therefore, this sentence is creating imagery. The second sentence in the line her clothes out of date is a metaphor. A metaphor is a figure of speech when a phrase is applied to an object which isn t applicable. Clothes being the object as they can not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Anything from stepping off a curb to landing after a jump contributes the impact our bodies withstand daily. Aside from the impact due to daily routine, runners add an extra amount of force during exercise. The most basic cause of injury while running is considered to be ground reaction force. Ground reaction force is the force that the ground exerts on the body during contact. while wearing shoes throughout the day we are experiencing a change in strike pattern. In the book Born to Run, the writers suggest that running with shoes has an effect on landing pattern of the foot during running. Grant penned his personal biography which included a Memoir on the Mexican War. Grant s memoir conveyed to the American public an unrestricted view of his objection to the Mexican American War. Grant, who eventually went on to command Union armies in the Civil War, questioned his nation s right to invade its weaker neighbor. Appalled by the manner in which America initiated the war and the events which followed, Grant later hailed the war as being one of the most unjust ever waged by a stronger nation against a weaker nation (Foner 468). In April of 1846, President Polk dispatched General Zachary Taylor to move American soldiers to into the region between the Nueces River and Rio Grande (Foner 468). According to Grant, the mobilization of U.S. troops into the disputed territory beyond the Nueces was an antagonistic act set in motion to intimidate Mexico and force them into initiating war. He affirms that although the land itself had immeasurable wealth, it could have been obtained by other means (Grant). A large number of Americans agreed with Grant, viewing the move against Mexico as an act of hostility against a weaker nation to satisfy the United States and President Polk s desire for more land. Among the war s critics, was Congressman Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was skeptical of the motives behind the invasion of Mexico, citing it as unconstitutional and questioning the validity behind Polk s claim of American casualties at the hands of Mexican soldiers (Foner 468). The intention behind the war became apparent when newly acquired territories allowed for slavery. Texas adopted slavery protection laws and created additional laws that denied civil rights to people of color while California courts allowed Indian children and orphans to be sold into slavery (Foner 471,473). If children fought the effects of his magical sand, they would have torturous nightmares. The folklore says that the sleep in the corner of the eyes is a proof that The Sandman was there during the night. Juvenile abuse of alcohol and other drugs is strongly associated with risk taking behavior, including promiscuity. According to the 1999 National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) study quot;Dangerous Liaisons, quot; increased promiscuity leads to a greater risk for sexually transmitted diseases and unplanned teenage pregnancy (National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse 1999). Adolescents aged fourteen and younger who use alcohol are twice more likely to engage in sexual behaviors than non drinkers; drug users are five times more likely to be sexually active than youth who are drug free. The public s attitude to cosmetic surgery is heavily influenced by the crucial role of the sociocultural in particular to the promotion of the body and beauty in the mass media (Moon, 2015). Within the global media, the image of Asian women is fixed towards depicting social qualities as exotic, feminine, and seductive. Due to these depictions of Asian women in the media, Asian women are seen as dolls. In addition, Asian women are not portrayed as humans compared to white women (Hall, 1995). This negative image of observing Asian women as inferior humans further affect Asian women status within the concept of heteronormativity. Therefore, Asian women perform cosmetic surgery to look white in order to alter their image and gain their power. The role of the mass media contributes strong self images that correspond with the consumer culture, in regard to the desire to buy the ideal beauty commodity (Askegaard, Gertsen, Langer, 2015). Keats was an educated writer and knew very well what he was talking about and was able to do amazing things with a simple string of words. Keats s piece is written in the time of Romantic Expressivism and every word that he writes inside of Ode to a Nightingale accurately portrays the themes and concepts of this time period briefness of our time on earth, mortality, a different and sometimes confusing look at the world around us (whether through our own eyes or some force on us), nature and all of its beauty, and the words that contain the strength to transport the reader to another place or time. However, the court ordered the case to be carried out without members of the association who were present at the hearing. This order produced a chaos amongst the supporters of Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh along with other prisoners launched hunger strike in the jail. The main reason behind this was that the British thieves and murderers were given better treatment than the Indian prisoners. According to law the Indian political prisoners were supposed to be given better rights. • 36. The Woman Warrior By Maxine Hong Kingston Throughout the novel The Woman Warrior, by Maxine Hong Kingston, the past is incorporated into the present through talk stories combined into each chapter. Kingston uses talk stories, to examine the intermingling of Chinese myths and lived experiences. These stories influence the life of the narrator as the past is constantly spoken about from the time she is young until the novel ends and she becomes an adult. Kingston incorporates two cultures. She is not a direct recipient of Chinese culture, but she has her own sense of talk story, that she learns from her mother, which tells the old Chinese stories with a sense of myth, in a new American way. This is a way of weaving two cultures together, bringing the Chinese past into her present American life. Chapter one titled, No Name Woman , is an example of the narrator referring to her mother s talk stories and a prominent illustration of incorporating the past into the present. This talk story is culturally based to express information about the past. In No Name Women , the narrator explains that her mother, Brave Orchid, would use the stories to give lessons on life that would stick with her children. Before unification Germany was isolated into thirty nine individual states, which was united in a procedure that began in 1849 and finished in 1871.The principal architect of unification was a German statesman, Otto Von Bismarck. Bismarck #39;s main aim was to unite the German states into one capable nation and gain control for Prussia. He was beginning to create and refine his claim political logic, quot;Realpolitik quot;. This was summed up in the statement he made: quot; The only sound foundation of a great state is state egoism and not romanticism it is unworthy of a great state to fight for something in which it has no interest. quot; He aimed at making Prussia the leader of Germany, and Germany the leading nation of Europe. Therefore, he promised to utilize the strategies for quot;blood and iron quot; to bring all the German nation together under the Prussian monarchy. There were three short Prussian wars during the nineteenth century which brought about the unification of the German states. The war against Denmark (1864), The Austro Prussian War (1866), and The Franco Prussian war (1870 1871). The top 8 mentioned explanations given on why exactly crime rates decreased by a large amount were; Innovative policing strategies, increased reliance on prisons, changes in crack and other drug markets, age of the population, tougher gun control laws, strong economy, increased number of police, and all other explanations. He starts off by explaining whether or not a strong economy was the cause of a drop in crime rate. He ridicules the explanation that a stronger economy means lower crime rates by explaining that a stronger economy only affects crimes with a direct financial motivation as opposed to violent crimes. The second explanation that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He then groups innovative policing strategies and increased number of police together but has differing views on them. He agrees that increased number of police accounted for 10% of the crime drop, but he thinks that innovative policing strategies, most commonly cited crime drop explanation, was in fact not a cause. His next set of groups were a tougher gun laws and changes in crack and other drug markets. Tougher gun laws was actually in fact not a cause of the crime drop and he supports this by providing an example of Switzerland, whom have the more firearms per capita, yet is one of the safest places in the world. On the other hand, changes in crack and other drug markets have in fact caused a decrease in crime rate due to the price drop in crack which caused teens and dealers to consider selling crack as not worth. • 40. John Winthrop And James Madison From the beginning, America has been a safe place for the fostering and cultivating of new thoughts and ideologies, but not without repercussion. This is evident in the life of both John Winthrop and James Madison. From early on in their political careers, both leaders faced political opposition. John Winthrop left familiarity in search of religious freedom and the pursuit of a life pleasing to God. James Madison, in creativity, thought of an entirely renovated way to successfully restructure the government of a nation that acted more as separate states. By using their backgrounds as a driving force for innovation they renovate governmental systems and lead the people from the ground up, inspired by Reformation and republicanism. Their implementation of government was different in emphasis, but the republican ideals behind it were the same. In Edmund S. Morgan s, The Puritan Dilemma, it was evident that John Winthrop focused his entire life around glorifying God, in turn creating a government that did the same. This ideology translated into the way he shaped and structured Puritan society. Winthrop first focused on the formation of a community of unity and harmony, then built a government that fostered it. All of the governmental structures in place were supporting one main focus of the Puritan society being a city on a hill. Citation Further, Puritan society was to act as an example for the surrounding colonies of godly living. Harmony was backed by their ideals of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Similarities Between Kantian Ethics And Utilitarianism As the world witnessed the horrors of 9/11 and the ensuing Global War on Terror committed by different belligerents, it found itself in an ethical debate as how it was to respond to this reality. The Church found itself in a particularly peculiar situation as it is widely regarded as a moral compass a majority of all people of earth. In an attempt to tackle the ethical and moral issues with the question of whether or not to sanction an armed effort to defend against terrorism, the Church very often referred back to its received normative ethical framework for the justification of war, namely the Just War theory. The pope used Just War Theory as an argument against the American led invasion of Iraq in 2003. Before Kant, the philosophical thinkers of the day had slowly been shifting from Platonic and Aristotelian virtue ethics towards a consequentialist view in which people were seen as means towards an arbitrary end. This rejection of utilitarian and consequentialist systems holds a strong appeal to the Christian for many reasons, and numerous similarities between Kantian philosophy and ideas of many Christians can be noticed in several areas. One example of this is Kant s idea of good will which resonates closely with Christian virtue ethics. Another Kantian idea is that moral truth can be determined by man, a concept which is reminiscent of Aquinas practice of regarding reason as a mean to arrive at the natural law. For example, Kant s idea of good will approximates the virtue ethics held by many Christians, and his belief that moral truths can be determined by man echoes Aquinas commitment to using reason to arrive at the natural law.(repetetive last ... • 42. Criticism Of Andrew Clark An American Politician From The... I am sure you would agree with me when I say we cannot escape the inevitability (in ev i ta bility) of criticism. Aristotle once said, Criticism is something we can avoid easily by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing. But I beg to disagree because people will criticize you for saying nothing, doing nothing and being nothing. Someone once said, Criticism is the muck in which the plants of the Lord grow strong and no child of God should fear Criticism. Criticism has the potential to help believers in their spiritual growth? Listen to what Frank Clark an American politician from the early 1900s said, Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man s growth without destroying his roots. Criticism comes in two forms, destructive and constructive. They are both self explanatory. Nevertheless, destructive criticism has the potential for spiritual growth but that would depend on the receiver. Destructive criticism can make us look inwardly ask the deep question, is it true of me. If the criticism levied is true, then do what needs to be done to correct it. If the criticism is malicious then ignore it and make sure you do not give your critics ammunition to prove their point. I would admit that criticism is not always easy to handle. People can be crude but always remember we are not responsible for the actions of others. We will only answer to God for our actions. The gospel is bigger than our feelings and has serious implications for mankind. So ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Stereotypes In African American Films Throughout this chapter, Korgen main arguments pertained to the media s portrayal of Black and White biracial characters in movies. Typically the media portrays people with lighter skin to have more positive characteristics while people with darker skin more negative characteristics. Media is one first place young children get these images from and it can have a huge impression on them without even knowing it. They are placed within this social class of existence. Viewers tend to pay the most attention to characters who share their age, race, and gender and those they wish they could be like (Korgen, 2010, pg. 89). Biracial Americans go through the toughest scrutiny by both races on whether they fit into either group. I know my brother and sister have this issue from the time they were little especially my sister, she is lighter skinned and was never truly accepted by the black or white girls at school. On the other hand, the media tends to act as if race does not matter that it is something from the past. I believe that racism and white supremacy in the media are so entangled into the core of America s culture that they have become virtually unrecognizable. The time increases when comparing Group A to Group B, but not Group B to Group C. The same also applies to Group C to Group D and then a decrease from Group D to Group E. Figure 1 shows a clearer picture of the RT when compared to all of the reaction time. Even though the time decreases in some areas, there is clear increase or RT when looking from the youngest to olderst. When looking at the graph, there is statistical significance in some of the areas and not in others. All data was calculated at a 95% confidence level. The difference from Group A to Group B is only 0.2538 seconds, but when the data is compared to each other, the probability (P Value) is 0.000287. This is a significant difference between the two. From Group B to Group C, there is a 0.01 second decrease in time, which has a P Value of 0.4698. This is not a statistical difference and leaves room for this time to not be a normal outcome. Group C and Group D has a 0.2289 seconds increase, but when calculated with the raw data, there is no significant difference with a P Value of 0.0833.
