Monotheistic Religion Research Paper
Monotheistic Religions (comparing and contrasting
Christianity and Islam):
By Esha Bhogal 9Z
Three of the world s main monotheistic religions are Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Monotheism can
be defined as the doctorine or belief that there is only one god. These popular religions are similar in
the fact that they are monotheistic but they choose to express their religious beliefs in a variety of
different ways. This essay will aim to compare and contrast Christianity and Islam, ultimately
highlighting the importance of being open minded when considering different religions and how
whilst these religions are different, they both bring joy, peace and happiness to people around the
world.
Christianity was founded by Jesus Christ, the son of God. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abram s name is then changed to Abraham
(meaning father to all) and God s promises to him come true. To Christians he symbolises the level of
obedience that should be displayed towards God. Overall, Christianity is a complex monotheistic
religion that has been parcticed for thousands of years and is still thriving to this day.
Islam was founded by Muhammad, a man who believed in only one god, Allah. Muhammad was a
prophet whose conversations with God allowed him to transcribe the Qu ran. A common symbol of
Islam is the crescent moon and star. This depicts a waxing and waning moon that represents life, death
and fertility. Over time it has become associated with the Islam religion but this was not always the
case and still some scholars reject this as a significant Muslim symbol. Muslims worship in Mosques
where they are always facing Mecca. Mecca is an extremely holy site for Muslims as it is not only the
place where Muhammad was born but it is also where he first received a message from Allah. Here
and around Mecca, Hajj takes place. Hajj is the largest annual pilgrimage in the world. It is a religious
event that can last up to six days and every Muslim is encouraged to

Economics Of The Gold Standard Debate
Economics of Globalization
September 18, 2015

The Gold Standard Debate
Beginning in 1870, each nation converted their national currencies to their relative worth in gold. This
was called the Gold Standard and it has brought up many arguments between politicians,
businessmen, and organizations with prominent economists on whether or not to return to it. Although
there are multiple reasons why America should not return, there are also many resurfaced ideas that
would make it very profitable for us to do so. The United States abandoned the gold standard to
finance WWI. Shortly after the war was the beginning of the Great Depression. The Gold Standard
constrained governments from helping the financial system and the economy during this time. The
reason we abandoned the Gold Standard was because of the crisis our country and many others were
in. The Gold Standard began in 1870 in Britain, which ironically was the first country to go off of it in
1931. The United Stated adopted this policy in 1913, this guaranteed the amount of paper money you
had could be returned to the government for the amount it is worth in gold. This made paper money
actually worth something to citizens living in nations where they were unsure of the value. When gold
deposits were mined, the value of currency dropped. In America, printing money was the cause of
hyperinflation. During WWI, many countries abandoned the Gold Standard to finance the war then
returned shortly after. Then in 1929,

Marketing Through Social Media Essay examples
Widely adopted by the general public then by companies, the Internet fast imposed itself to become
the archetypal media in terms of communication and search for information in all the domains today,
and it is true whatever is the position of each in the society.
With the development of the Web 2.0 which made Internet participative, the Internet users are now
capable of expressing themselves, interacting, and giving their opinion onto everything (products,
services, brands, companies, cultural property) and on everybody, via multiple platforms on Internet.

With social networks, companies can develop direct interaction with their customers and above all
they can create online word of mouth with the tools providing by social networks.
The relation brand consumer changed aspect. The brands have to watch henceforth what people say of
them on these social media and to begin the dialogue with their consumers to make sure to keep a

these digital social networks to try to create consumers community on line ambassadors around them,
to federate them and to develop loyalty of them thanks to a communication and specific tools.
It is advisable, at first, to draw up a report of the uses of the Web 2.0, then it is essential to identify
what a social network is. Finally, an analyse of the personal and organisational consequences will be

The Web became social and participative. It plays a role more and more important in the funnel

going on a site of e commerce offering the best prices, or by consulting the opinion of Internet users
about a product to facilitate the choice, in particular for strongly implied purchases which

Essay on The Role of Men and Women
In order to fully comprehend and appreciate the implication of literature and the power it has to
elucidate upon life s various facets, it is imperative to compare and contrast various works, which
possess certain concepts and beliefs that are common. No Exit by Jean Paul Satre and Night Flight by
Antoine De Saint Exupery are two works of literature that share certain ideas and concepts, one of
which is the exemplification of the different roles that men and women play in society and how they
have been conformed to occupy certain positions. No Exit and Night Flight are two stories that
explore the roles of men and women in society. However, a literary analysis and comparison of these
two works reveals two very different sides of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my opinion, gender roles are being challenged today to a certain degree, but in order for us to
become more open minded, it is imperative to find a central path between the two extremes. While it
is important for us to maintain our physiological differences and fulfill certain individual
responsibilities, it is equally important for women to assume more significant roles outside the
household and to realize their full potential.
No Exit, by Jean Paul Satre follows three characters who have been condemned to hell , for the evil
deeds committed by them. Here, Satre has represented hell, not in its biblical or Christian sense, where
the sinners and transgressors are tortured, but as a room, with no windows and only one door, and
where the inhabitants are left alone with their thoughts and the other persons that reside therein.
As the play unfolds, the audience is made aware of the sins committed by the individuals that have
caused them to be here, including adultery, murder and cowardice. Through this explication, the
author has showed us the differing gender roles adopted by men and women but more importantly
how certain individuals will tend to deviate from these norms. Though the expected norm is for a man
to be brave and fearless, Joseph Garcin is a coward and refuses to accept his responsibilities, made
abundantly clear by his

The Function Of Insulin Or Rapid-Acting Insulin Analogs
insulin or rapid acting insulin analogs Preparations included with phenolic excipients serves two
purposes: retaining solution sterility and stabilization of the insulin molecule in the hexameric form to
avoid aggregation(35). These compounds are may cause problems since they are proved to be toxic
and irritant, and are being investigated for their role as sensitizers and carcinogens (36).
Generally the human insulin monomers may assemble into insulin dimer and insulin hexamer which is
more stable than that of dimeric form. Regarding the main function of insulin which is regulating the
uptake of glucose, both insulin dimer and hexamer are inactive in biological environment. However
they are much more stable from conformational viewpoint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When phenolic preservatives were depleted insulin glulisine dissociated or broke down from a
structure with higher molecular weight (hexamer) structures into a number of intermediate molecular
weight one, usually between monomer and hexamer, whereas insulin aspart and insulin lispro
separated into monomers and dimmers. The ultimate disintegration of Insulin lispro and aspart was
due to the large extent of their dissociation when they were depleted of their excipients while insulin
glulisine was dissociated to intermediate molecular weight molecules in the absence of the phenol and
m cresol (39).
In general they concluded that insulin degradation was inversely related to the concentration of phenol
and m cresol as phenolic preservatives.
Tissue response and inflammation (cytotoxic effect of insulin with and without excipients)
CD54, CD11b and CD14 are surface proteins considered as markers of inflammatory cell activation.
Weber et al explored these markers to investigate whether the phenol and m cresol could cause the
inflammatory response. In order to study the potential inflammatory effect of phenolic preservatives of
insulin they selected monocytic cell line THP 1. The mentioned cell lines were exposed to sub toxic
concentration of phenol and m cresol as well as insulin analogues formulation for 24 hours. Since they

Measures from External Estimates
External Estimates of the Number of Abortions Pooled and by Individual Year
The counts of the total number of abortions for the study period years come from published
information from the Guttmacher Institute s census of abortion providers (Finer and Henshaw 2003;
Jones and Kavanaugh 2011). Following prior research, I used the CDC s age distribution for each year
to calculate the expected number of abortions that occurred in the age distribution of Add Health for
each year, except in the years when an age distribution was collected by the Guttmacher Institute s
survey of abortion patients (Kost and Jones 2007; Fu et al. 1998). Because the CDC data is provided
in ages ranges (under 15; 15 19; 20 24; 25 29; 30 34; 35 39; 40+), the Add Health data was restricted
to best match these ranges (see Appendix 2 for further details).
The overall quality analyses (years 1994 through 2007) could potentially include pregnancies between
the ages of 10 (the youngest individuals in Wave 1 in 1994) and 32 (the oldest individuals in Wave 4
in 2008). Though it should be noted that pregnancies under the age of 13 would be somewhat
improbable considering the median age of menarche in the U.S. is 12.43 ... Show more content on

Guttmacher Institute s survey of abortion patients were compared with the estimates used to test the
robustness of these analyses, and no significant differences were found when comparing the 95%
confidence intervals (see Appendix 3A and Appendix 3B). Overall, these external estimates were

Bounded Rationality Theory
I think everyone is in agreeance that there are several elements involved in criminality and why crime
is ever an option. One significant reason why an individual turns to a life of crime is that of necessity.
Certain people believe that they have no other alternative but to rob, steal, or lie to get what they need
to survive, or to provide for their family. About the passage, The working poor. There are law abiding
citizens going to work every day, and they still will not have enough to sustain a healthy lifestyle.
They are the working to be poor. We must give people the opportunities to succeed so that they do not
become criminals or participate in deviant behaviors. I have been the victim of an unmotivated fast

It refers to the idea that the human information processing restrictions place limitations on the ability
to make determinations, which is not necessarily rational because of the control of the rewards. This
concept is similar to the drug dealer that refuses to get more narcotics that he can sell. They are
weighing the benefits received with only making enough money to buy more drugs. They do not want
to increase their productivity because of the increased risk of prosecution or being victimized by other
criminals. Therefore they stay within a safe zone continuing the risk of illegal activity but not
receiving a substantial reward (Johnson Payne, 2016). I was also intrigued by the prospect theory,
which suggests a value function that resembles the classical benefit in the outcomes related to targets.
Also, a criminal will avoid risk when they are associated with receiving gains, but will, however, take
a chance or risk to avoid losses. Then finally in the prospect theory the losses massively outnumber
the gains, therefore becoming more impactful and overpowering the rewards. Unfortunately, during
my career, I have observed this approach through several

Harm Principle Argument Analysis
Harm can be understood by many individuals in a multitude of ways; however, one theory that would
not agree with Donald Trump s claim concerning the American Flag would be Mill s Harm Principle,
as the only harm that constitutes regulation is physical harm when it concerns our rights. Mill states
that limitations cannot be placed on one s freedom of liberty if no injury is created thus (Mill, On
Liberty 71 75). Being offended by the burning of an American Flag, for example, would not require
any form of regulation of this symbolic, since it does not cause physical injury. Mill also supports the
acceptance of this symbolic speech, as a form of maximizing social utility and happiness, while
lowering government coercion/control. In addition, Feinberg expands upon this utilitarian ideal to
include the other forms of harm that fall within the extent of our rights, where he scrutinizes various
instances of emotional/psychological harm (e.g., embarrassment, disgust, fear) to make the individual
question if the harm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Devlin claims that, as society evolves, whether desired to or not, we will also change with society. As
societal practices and values begin to change over time, some people and their values will not want to
follow the progressive trend but are forced to anyways. If one does not choose to adopt the new
societal views, the individuals may not feel comfortable with expressing their views. Consequently,
this progression would be seen, from Devlin perspective, as a form of regression, as we are losing our
values. As a critique to Mill s Harm Principle, even if it does not physically harm someone, one is still
harmed by the act, since society is built and modified based on the social practices. More explicitly,
conservative communitarians would view the acceptance of flag burning as a social practice of society
that will lead it to fall apart if it changes the values that it was built

made a big impact on who I am. She has taught me so much ever since I was little. She taught me to
be appreciative, always say please and thank you, and to be kind to others. I m so grateful for her and I
have her to thank everyday. I also have my dad to thank for giving me my religious side. My dad is

Paper Towel Absorbency Experiment
I believe that Walmart brand paper towels are just as absorbent as Bounty brand paper towels. All
paper towels are made from paper pulp that is woven to create a large sheet. Because all paper towels
are made from the same material I believe that the Walmart brand will absorb just as much liquid as
the other brands. I will prove my hypothesis through a scientific experiment comparing three brands
of paper towels. I chose three brands with three very different price points. Am I paying more money
per roll for a higher quality towel or are all paper towels made the same, therefore will absorb equal
amounts of liquid. I will put each paper towel brand through an absorbency test 4 times to get an

If the towels are different sizes trim them to the smallest size. 3. Fill a liquid measuring cup with
100mils of water. 4. Submerge the first brand of paper towel into water and start the stopwatch. At 20
seconds remove the paper towel from the water and squeeze the paper towel into the second liquid
measuring cup. 5. Record how much water was squeezed from the paper towel. 6. Repeat with each
brand of towel and record the data. Repeat each set of trials at least four times for consistency of data.
7. Find the average amount of liquid absorbed by each brand of towel and plot in a bar graph.
My experimental design is set up in such a way that anyone can replicate this experiment with the
same brands of towels and get the same results. My plan keeps the trials as fair as possible by cutting
the towels down to the same size so only the thickness of each towel comes into play. It is important to
conduct multiple trials to insure the data is consistent.
The Dependent variable for this study is the amount of water absorbed by the paper towels. This will
be measured in milliliters. The independent variable for this study is different brands of paper towels.
The controlled variables will be the amount of water the paper towels are given to absorb, the size of
the paper towels at the beginning of the experiment, and using the same measuring instruments in each
trial. I will reduce the threat to internal validity by conducting the experiments in the

Battle On The Plains Of Abraham And The Metis
Battles help students realize the perspectives of each side. For an example, Battle on the Plains of
Abraham and Battle of Seven Oaks have perspectives of British and French or Scottish and The
Metis, which makes students become more aware of which side they agree on . However, both of these
battles started with a vengeance, hatred and wrongdoings, but differ in the terms of their elaborate
details, specific reasons, and surprising results after the fighting.
One similarity between these 2 battles is that the English side caused both of the battles. The British
caused it by capturing Louisberg and Quebec on the other hand, the Scottish banned the Metis from
trading meat, fish, or vegetables from the Red river. Both, British and Scottish tortured their enemies
in different ways. The Scottish starved The Metis and took things away from them whereas The
British bombarded Louisberg so the French would surrender it. In addition, the French ... Show more

The Fall Of The Roman Empire Summary
In the book The Fall of the Roman Empire the author Peter Heather talks about the ways the Roman
empire conquered the many territories surrounding them and how strong of an empire the Roman
empire was. He also talks about the build up all the events that causes the empire to fall. Peter also
talks about the people that helped or was involved with the build up or the collapse of the Roman
empire. Peter Heather mainly wrote this book to speak of how the European barbarians that got turned
into enemies through imperialism and that these Barbarians were capable of tearing apart an empire
that ruled over them for many of years.Peter also, mentions all the battles and build ups that occurred
throughout the Barbarians reign of power and speaks mainly of the battles that they went through.
Peters argument is that the empire did not collapse because of social or moral collapse but he believes
that the empire fell because of the Barbarians. There was many events that occurred in The Fall of the
Roman Empire. Peter Heath speaks of many Hunnic battles, because Heather is trying to explain how
military strategical the Huns are and he also talks about the battles because the Huns begin to become
an issue with Roman Empire, he also speaks of these battles because they have such a large effect on
the collapse of the Roman Empire. Peter speaks of the Battle of Hadrianople, this battle was when the

The Secretary Chant By Marge Piercy
Poems are a unique piece of literature that generally include a strong form of emotion. When writing
poems, the author will do certain things to make their poem more powerful such as word choice and
word placement, punctuation, character choice, and what point of view the poem is being told from.
The author does this so that they can better connect their audience to the poem and make them relate
more to the characters present in the poem. One thing that can make poems powerful is when an
author includes divisions, conflicts, and multiple forces within the self, or in other words, within a
character. Including this in a poem emphasizes what the characters are feeling personally and allows
the reader to see through the character s eyes. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While reading the poem, the woman doing this can be thought of as her having such a low self esteem
that she feels worthless and the only things that can explain how she feels are office objects. The line
my head is a badly organized file gives the idea that the woman s life is a jumbled mess which can be
a reason that leads to her low self esteem. After reading the poem, it is discovered that the women s
conflict in herself is that she isn t recognized enough for all the stuff that she does, and that the reason
she is comparing herself to office objects is because she feels like a machine, doing the same thing
every day, and never getting a break. The line my head is a badly organized file can be relooked at as
the woman always doing work and that a lot of things are always on her mind and she doesn t know

and she does not know who she is anymore. The woman wants recognition for all the work that she
does, but she does not get it, and is seen by everyone else as a machine, which lowers her self esteem
even more. The poem being in first person helps the reader to understand the woman better because
they get exactly how the woman is feeling and not another view saying how she

Cultural Capital And Social Status
Cultural capital is important in determining class status because cultural capital gives us power.
Cultural capital helps us become successful, achieve goals and rise up the social ladder. Without
necessarily having financial capital or wealth. French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu saw social class
groups as identifiable according to their levels of cultural and economic capital. Increasingly,
individuals distinguish themselves not according to economic or occupational factors but on the basis
of cultural tastes and leisure pursuits (Giddens 211). Cultural capital can exist in three forms:
embodied state, for example, personality, skills, and speech. Institutionalized, such as, education or
specialized knowledge. And objectification, in

Essay on The Music That Comes from Instruments
Music would not be music if it were not for the sound produced by an object we know of as an
instrument. A musical instrument is a device created or adapted to make musical sounds (Oxford

instruments humans alway found a way to create sound. Whether it was by clapping, singing or
humming people alway created ways to create sound. Although not a proven fact, I strongly believe
music is a way to connect oneself emotionally. Music will and alway be a way for individuals to

come in different sizes and tunes.
The most common (and most practical) ones to play are the soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone.
Saxophones are generally classified into one of two families... the military band family (that includes
mainly Eb and Bb saxes, alternating in tuning) and the orchestral family that includes the less popular
saxophones in C and F ( How to Get Started with the Saxophone ).
The military band family consist of the Soprillo, Sopranino, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, Bass,

Catastrophism And Uniformitarianism In Dating Earth
There can be many different views when we define the words of catastrophism and uniformitarianism.
They can be seen in many diverse ways from person to person. In the article Dating Earth, it
mentioned the background of the concept of uniformitarianism and catastrophism. People who had
biblical views were considered catastrophists and were known scientists who invoked supernatural
causes. Uniformitarianism is a concept that is viewed as gradual constant change, or no change at all.
This view can be debatable with catastrophism which is sudden or immediate change because a small
change over time that seems so constant can feel sudden at the same time. It depends how you view it
and see the picture in our histories time lapse. When we define constant we view it as a nice even
flow, but sometimes the flow can be higher at times and lower which can equal to the even gradual
concept of uniformitarianism while it can be viewed as a catastrophic event too because if we think
about the butterfly effect that small sudden change can be so unique and make big changes even
though it seemed small and equal like uniformitarianism. The Butterfly Effect mentioned how Lorenz
made a small change to his systems of equations which proved to be catastrophic even though the
numbers seemed very small to even make a difference. When we view uniformitarianism and
catastrophism they can both be true in context, but if you view it in a diverse way to include the small
changes uniformitarianism can

Flashbacks In The Things They Carried
After war, day in and day out, countless soldiers experience Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder which leads to moral injury through depression and anxiety. Just because the war is over
doesn t mean that the memories just go away. Depression eventually sinks in and can cause great pain.
After the depression sinks in the moral injury comes along which plays a major role in PTSD. Soldiers
struggle with reintegrating into society, flashbacks, as well as moral injury. After soldiers return home
from the war, in a way they aren t completely home. The memories from the war don t just up and go

Moral injury plays a major role in PTSD. If it s not treated properly it can lead to serious damage
down the road. Moral injury is like anxiety, but on steroids. Anxiety builds up until it
reaches the level of moral injury. In terms of war, moral injury is very important. Soldiers in war do
what they are told and follow orders. These orders may be the deciding factor of life or death. For
example, in the documentary, Brothers in War, they talked about how after being in the war for a while
the ones who had survived the whole time became really close to one another. They had also become
the leaders of their squad since they had been there so

The Brown Auto Company Essay
The Brown Auto Company At the Brown Auto Company, the two partners divided the operational
responsibilities. Robert performed the duties of the primary salesman and the chief mechanic whereas
his brother, Harry, more commonly called Skin, ran the office. The Ford Motor Company shipped
each Model T, colloquially nicknamed the Tin Lizzie, into Bradley on the Chicago, Milwaukee, St.
Paul Railroad only partially assembled. Since the body, frame, engine, wheels, doors, and windows,
each came as parts; the brothers completed the assembly on the rail siding before driving them to the
garage. The Brown Auto Company, which used Bradley s Fourth of July parade to advertise their
product, on at least one occasion, obtained assistance from Robert s multi talented wife, Bessie, for the
design and construction of a float. Using Ford s colors, Bessie decorated the float, which featured a
Model T on a flatbed truck, by sewing many strips of crêpe together to create a huge blue and white
hoop skirt around the car. The float prominently displayed Ford s motto, Henry s Made a Lady out of
Lizzie. Selling cars sometimes required overcoming unique challenges. The owner of Carson s Ranch,
Lloyd Carson, held a contest to determine if he would buy a Ford or a Chevrolet. A Model T from the
Brown Auto Company driven by Robert Brown competed against a Chevrolet from a dealership in
Watertown, South Dakota. Mr. Carson had a long driveway that went around a slough before it

Technology During The Past Couple Decades
Technology s rapid development in the past couple decades has had a great impact on how the world
functions today. People have become greatly dependent on technology and the internet that the
concept of having a physical conversation does not seem appealing anymore. In fact, technology is
widely used as an excuse by the public to ignore people that they do not wish to encounter. As the
technology era progresses, essential communication skills seem to be sacrificed among people and
replaced by the overuse of technology to connect with people. Over the years, technology has worked
its way into work places, libraries, game centers, shopping malls, and public spaces. So many things
have become technology driven. For instance, schools have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Furthermore, the number of different technological devices created does not make it any simpler or
easier to enhance social skills among people and eliminate the lack of interaction between them. The
wide range of devices includes tablets, iPods, laptops, smart phones and smart TV s, which are all sold
in different shapes, sizes, and brands. These all contribute to increasing the isolation of people from
others and lead to a lack of social interaction between people, which increases from generation to
generation. To get a better understanding of how the internet and technology impact the people and
interactions in a specific public space, I observed Temple University s main campus in Philadelphia.
For an hour I observed a widely used walkway called Polett Walk on the University s campus. Polett
Walk is widely used by Temple s population of 40,000 students and faculty members for a number of
different reasons. While I rested on a nearby bench and observed the individuals, I saw students
rushing to get to class, people using skateboards and bicycles as a way of transportation through
campus, security guards standing or riding bicycles and keeping a watch on everyone, people passing
time by sitting on one of the many benches provided by the school, and others leisurely walking in the
scorching heat. In addition, I saw students enjoying a small meal under the shade given by the shadow
of the trees, and others making their

Poverty In Haiti Essay
During the 18th century, France possessed the colony known to them as Saint Domingue, an island in
the Caribbean Sea. Possessing valuable resources and optimal conditions for growing expensive crops
such as sugar, France dedicated much of their money into this little island, allowing Saint Domingue
to become the most wealthy colony in this time period. However, the Haitian slaves revolted against
the French colonial rulers, resulting in the only completely successful slave rebellion in history.
However, the cost of the war, natural disasters, and a French independence tax very soon crippled the
former colony, leading to an almost instantaneous decline in the country s wealth and prosperity.
Today, Haiti has the shameful title of the poorest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the arguments that they might bring up happen to avoid some of the details that in actuality
create a need for further government involvement, not the same amount. According to the World
Bank, poverty rates did indeed drop about 7%, and schools gained more students than ever before. (
Extreme poverty drops ). While the article does indeed highlight the decrease in extreme poverty and
increase in school enrollment, the rest of the paragraph shows just how the country has a long way to
go. To start, the 7% decrease in poverty was over the span of 13 years. Even if the amount of time was
not present, those who climbed out of poverty accounts for about 200,000 people, in a country that
houses over 10 million. According to another article by the National Public Radio, the rates of death
after natural disasters like Hurricane Matthew decreased, and the health of the survivors was better
than after other storms (Beaubien). Mass death is never a good thing, and even though less of it is
almost always a good thing, the amount of those who died after Hurricane Matthew is still tragic and
unacceptable. Haiti s government did indeed lower the death rates, but the rates to which they were
lowered are still

Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin
A dynamic character is a major character in a work of fiction that encounters conflict and is changed
by it. In The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, the emotional pattern and thought process of Louise
Mallard after she is informed of her husband s death are explored. Over the course of the hour in
which the story takes place Louise has a realization about the constraints she feels in her life and in
her marriage. By delineating Louise as a flat and dynamic character, Chopin is able to convey her
theme that real freedom is found in death. Over the course of the story, all the characters are left as
fairly flat and undeveloped. Louise is simply described as a young woman with a fair, clam face
whose lines bespoke repression and even a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the breath of rain in the air and the tree tops bursting with life (paragraph four), Louise begins
her journey to her conclusion. Even though the visualization of nature, Louise is competent enough to
grasp that her love for Brently could not compare to the possession of self assertion which she
suddenly recognized as the strongest impulse of her being (paragraph fifteen). Soon enough she had
nearly forgotten her departed lover and was drinking in an elixir of life through that open window
(paragraph eighteen). After the inhalation of submission, Louise carried herself unwittingly like a
goddess of Victory (paragraph twenty) down the stairs. In doing so, the once emotionally unstable and
physically ailed woman with white slender hands (paragraph ten) was able to prepare for a life without
discretion or restrictions. The development of Louise only seized due to her preexisting medical
condition claiming her life. However this motivation is what caused Louise to act in the ways she did

from that of any round character. Although the reader is inserted into Louise s mind, an entirely
understood background for her is missing. In doing so a void is made in which the reader can

The Importance Of Security In War
The Jaish al Mahdi understood and exploited U.S. public opinion. This incident demonstrated that
adversaries can achieve success by conducting influence operations. China identifies cyberspace as a
key domain to project power and dominance. Chinese military strategists believe that information
operations are directly linked to success or defeat in war and priority should be given to launching
preemptive attacks. In 2005, China infiltrated numerous secure government systems and successfully
retrieved more than ten terabytes of data. The following year, China attacked a total of forty nine U.S.
companies and government agencies. A number of those companies were involved in the production
of the F 35 and other classified military weapons. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The principles within the strategy can be linked to information as an instrument of national power.
However, existing U.S. strategies have three shortfalls: 1) scope (addressing all dimensions in the
information environment), 2) deterrence (defining acts of war), and 3) whole of nation approach. The
first shortfall is that the scope must be broader. U.S. strategies sufficiently address threats to the
physical and informational dimensions within the information environment. However, the U.S. lacks a
strategy that identifies challenges and threats in the cognitive dimension within the information
environment. Adversaries, such as ISIS, are effectively utilizing influence campaigns to advance their
agenda by manipulation of the values, perceptions, and beliefs of the U.S. public and other target
audiences. Information, or misinformation, is a primary means to shape global opinions. The U.S.
continues to yield the initiative in influence operations and function in a reactionary capacity. Strategic
communication messaging to enhance U.S. credibility and legitimacy have been slow and at times
ineffective. The behavior data generated through social media has enabled researchers to understand

German Soldiers Fought The Fuhrer s Ideological War
German soldiers fought the Führer s ideological war. Hitler wanted the German race to take over the
world. Heinrich Bölls book, And Where Were You, Adam?, describes several soldiers and their lives at
the end of World War II. In the chaos of war, they found various reasons to capitulate with the
Holocaust and other atrocities, but at the same time, tried to find some normalcy and sanity in an
insane situation. Just as other warriors in other wars, they were humans who found themselves in an
inhuman situation. They were concerned with the defense of their homeland, family, and future. They
were not monsters, but men serving under monstrous leaders and nefarious conditions. Germans foot
soldiers went to war for several reasons such as German pride, honor, and love of the fatherland.
Personal recognition and medals were important to many. The fever of a new and stronger Germany
swept up the soldiers and it was their duty to serve the Reich. They took an oath of allegiance to Hitler
(Spielvogel 118). Nazis indoctrinated new recruits with their philosophy. Soldiers did not realize the
wickedness that lay ahead. Once in the midst of war, however, Germans became disillusioned and
frightened. Some thought of home and loved ones while other worried their link to past war crimes
and rule violations. Many soldiers waited for the inevitable surrender and others committed suicide.

A Central Of Venous Catheter
A central venous catheter is known as a central line or a CVC. A CVC is a thin flexible catheter that is
inserted into a large vein near the heart in either the arm or the chest. (Web MD, 2016) This central
line is used to provide medication, fluids, nutrients, or blood products over a long period of time. This
is generally used for patients who have chemotherapy, frequent blood draws, need additional
nutritional support, or have kidney failure. (ATS, 2015) There are several considerations to keep in
mind when a CVC is being administered such as understanding why a CVC is being placed, safety
guidelines, teaching considerations, and ways to care for the CVC.
Reasons for needing a CVC
There are several reasons why a CVC may be placed depending on each patient s condition. It is
important for each patient to understand the reason for having a central line inserted; some reasons
may include: I.V. medications for a long period of time, large amounts of fluid, several blood draws,
additional nutrition, or kidney failure. When administering medication over a long period of time it
can be irritating to the vein so a central line is placed so that it is easily tolerated; especially for
chemotherapy medications. When administering fluids through a larger vein it is less irritating to the
vein and it is easier to manage fluid intake. Patients can often have several blood draws daily in order
to run tests to make sure that the treatment and body function is maintaining; so it is ideal

Essay On Stereotypes Of Boys
Many things and many problems appear to all people in all ages but when we say boys we talk about
our future and the main treasure, and here we talk about boys will be boys which refer to one thing.
we should treat boys according to their ages. Some boys find themselves depressed and want to
commit crimes, why? this is a result of not being able to live their childhood in societies which treat
them differently from girls. They are oppressed to act like real men not real boys; Subsequently we
find them hiding their emotions, lying to themselves and keeping silent. There are roles for family,
school and community to get rid off all the oppressive stereotypes associated with boys so we can
discover their merits and demerits. As one s family is usually closer, families should start by treating
boys with more kindness. Schools should recognise their abilities and communities should facilitates

Solutions:
The point here is how we can treat boys better. At first, we should acknowledge their needs, let them
express themselves, and we should let them live their ages. They can cry, they can love, and they can
hate. Schools should take extra steps in student care. Starting with its teachers, Teachers should
interact with boys and keep an eye on them if they showed aggression or violence. And if a boy
misbehaved, communication is key. The boy s family should be informed and a follow up from the
school is obligatory. Also communities should establish programs about how to communicate with

A Separate Peace Competitive Analysis
The Role of Competition Phineas was a born athlete. Gene on the other hand was the exact opposite.
His athletic ability was close to none. The role of competition plays a large part of the storyline in this
novel, A Separate Peace. In a sense, it s what made the connection between Phineas and Gene so
strong. It also played a part in wedging a gap between Phineas and Gene. The author made it feel as
though Gene was the one that competed so fully in the pair s relationship when Finny was supposed to
be the one with the competitive nature. In the beginning of the novel, before Finny s accident, Gene

Drug Testing In Schools. The Topic Of Random Drug Testing
Drug Testing in Schools The topic of random drug testing has been a very controversial one,
especially in the last few years. RSDT (random student drug testing) made a rise in popularity after
being legalized by the United States Supreme Court in 2006. This ruling made testing students who
participate in extracurriculars or drive to school able to be tested for illegal drug abuse. This court
decision is like many others in the aspect that some strongly agree and others heavily disagree. One
side of opinions agrees with the court s ruling and believes that RSDT programs help prevent drug
abuse among the student population. Other people think that the programs infringe on the rights of
students and offer no usefulness in the fight against ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to note that if a student is caught with drugs in their system, rehabilitation and
restriction of extracurriculars are the repercussions. These people also argue that the tests are not too
expensive. Thirty dollars or less was the pre program cost; this data held true for 91 percent of
surveyors.
In contrast to the people who believe that drug testing is helpful and necessary in schools, others have
a sharp difference in opinions. These people think that random drug testing is not associated with a
change in the numbers of students who use drugs in any category ( Random Drug Testing Cannot
Prevent Student Drug Abuse ). Disbelievers in the programs believe that they violate student rights
and feed more money into the drug testing industry. It is also said that since the testing can only target
students who participate in extracurriculars, students can easily get around the tests by simply not
participating in those activities. Evidence of these accusations come from a study out of The
University of Michigan called Monitoring the Future. This study showed little to no difference in drug
abuse among students when comparing schools that participate in the RSDT and have similar
demographic backgrounds. Non supporters also think the programs are ineffective. These ideas are
backed up by The Office of Management and Budget, where they deemed the programs ineffective in
reducing youth drug use, violence, and crime. They also believe that

It may seem counter intuitive to say, but expending energy can help us gain more energy. It can help

More than 90% of studies indicate that exercise increases energy for nearly every group, ranging from

Examples Of Personal Responsibility Essay
Personal Responsibility Essay
Imagine going through your entire life without taking personal responsibility for absolutely anything.
How would this method of operation affect your life? Day to day life would be chaotic, career

become overwhelming and unfeasible. The ability and drive to take personal responsibility in life is a
central focal point in the areas of creating a successful life, defining goals and priorities, and creating a
structure with which to effectively guide your life.
When working toward a successful life, personal responsibility is a vital cornerstone. The concept of
personal responsibility is more than just being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The setting and constant evaluation of these goals and priorities becomes the framework of a
successful life and a vital gauge for one to evaluate their progress. Strategies as simple as writing your
goals down can be useful in solidifying those goals, as outlined in Becoming a Master Student (Toft,
2011): Writing down your goals exponentially increases your chances of meeting them. Writing
exposes undefined terms, unrealistic time frames, and other symptoms of fuzzy thinking. Having your
goals in a real format makes them harder to lose track or sight of. However, if one is not willing to
truly take personal responsibility for the outcome of their progress, they will never make it very far in
pursuit of their goals and any real personal growth becomes stunted.
While some people believe that they are able to lead a successful life without taking any responsibility
and just drift, this is a misconception. Achieving success comes through the crafting of an individual
framework of goals and priorities that one will strive toward, measuring success through their progress
toward these goals. This can take wildly different forms for each individual, as each person must use
tactics that make sense to them. Personally, my own plan to engrain personal responsibility into my
education involves constant evaluation of my progress via my calendar and prioritized lists and
through tracking of my grades. The use

Argumentative Essay On Body Cameras
Over the past few years, there have been many tragedies involving police which have caused people to
feel unsafe and weary. Body cameras are a great way to combat this issue because they offer both
audible and visual evidence of misconduct. This can be used to keep the public and police accountable
for their actions while maintaining an evidenced based argument compared to the usual testimony
based argument. In a Washington Post article by Dunn, he said: Video provides compelling evidence
of police misconduct and can be used to train, discipline, fire and even prosecute officers (2017).
Dunn is valid in saying this because the footage when appropriately handled can be used within the

First, there s no guarantee that the public will ever see footage from police body cameras, especially in
cases where it may be helpful to defendants or civil litigants (Buttar, 2016). Although this may be true
in some cases, laws are being made to ensure that the footage is available for not only police but the
public. For example, a police department in Seattle posts their footage to YouTube so everyone can
see what their police have recorded (Dunn Lieberman, 2017). Others believe body cameras should not
be worn because of possible mass incarceration issues amongst the public. Cameras could capture
footage used against defendants in criminal trials either where the footage depicts criminal acts, like
jaywalking or selling loose cigarettes, or where it merely supports suspicion of potential crime,
justifying subsequent stops and searches that would otherwise be illegal (Buttar, 2016). Some cops
could abuse cameras in such a way; however, the footage collected is currently reviewed only by
specific professionals and debates over sending footage directly to specialized agencies for review is
still highly considered. Sending the footage to these special facilities leaves little room for tampering
by police and will help ensure the authenticity of the footage. Although many may believe those body
cameras will cause more harm than help to the community, body cameras are still highly useful and
are statistically reported to assist police and the

reviews? Yes, they are confusing, but for those who cannot really judge things. If you think that you
can take your own decision after checking a few things, then here is the answer for your confusion.
This article is basically a review on one of the online vendors who sell Kratom, but before you choose
any online store or before you read a short review about some vendor, it would be great if you clear up
all your confusions.
Here is the answer for your confusion
You always get to read that Kratom is the best herbal medicine for pains and many other health issues
and mental relaxation as well. But at the same time you also get to hear that this is a most dangerous
medicine which should be known by every parent as most of them report the deaths of ... Show more

All the reviews that are given in their website state that the quality of Kratom is above expected and
also the person care taken for each order is great. The choice of the products that are available here is
good and you don t have to look for another herbal store if you want to buy Kratom or other herbal
products like Kava Kava or Blue Lotus.
Final Word on The Herbal Café
All the reviews that you read on their website or from other sources state that the quality, delivery and
the customer support provided is great. None of the reviews talk about the price and the reason could
be the excellent quality of Kratom that they maintain. But, it is completely individual choice to select
the store and decide the budget. If you think you can spend a little higher for an excellent quality
herbal product, then you can try the sample packs from The Herbal Café online store. The choice of

A Strong Argument Goes Down Hill

When A Strong Argument Goes Down Hill
In today s society, everyone has heard of the saying, Education is important and college is the key to a
well off life. Some may think on the contrary that there are other routes that one may can take and still
become successful in life as well. College is not the only answer to every individual. Not everybody is
academically driven so the topic still appears to be very much controversial. In the essay, Is College
for Everyone, Pharinet articulates her perspective on the reason why she thinks that college is not
really meant for everybody. Pharinet presented her side of the argument to her audience by laying out
dome persuasive techniques. She uses a mixture or logos, ethos, and pathos to defend her case. Since,
Pharinet s has a background of being a professor, she has some authority over this argument because
she has witnessed first hand on how college students act and interacted with college students before.
However, Pharinet demonstrations slight bias perspectives though out her argument she is very narrow
minded. Even though her arguments are stated clearly she is lacking on her claims she backs up her
argument with biased logic, uncited statistics, and a lot of pathos.
Within Pharinet essay, she does a wonderful job at presenting her views of the topic on, Is College for
Everyone. However, her claims are weak due to the lack of evidence. Pharinet included a

History And Perceptions Of American Sign Language Essay
History and Perceptions of American Sign Language
Sign language is one most common ways for deaf individuals to communicate without using of their
voices. Different cultures and languages will typically have their own version of sign language so
signs are not always universal, just like gestures are not universal. Signs are culturally bound in
communication just like verbal languages and gestures are culturally bound. I will examine the history
of American Sign Language, as well as how it has been viewed culturally with positive and negative
social implications in the U.S.
History of American Sign Language
In order to fully understand the creation of American Sign Language (ASL), it must be understood that
it is a form of communication. That means every sign has a meaning that is culturally bound just like
languages in oral communication. That also means that the language has a distinctive origin. In fact,
ASL carries several linguistic features that are similar to spoken languages (Rosen, 2008) such as the
presence of homonyms and its constant evolution (Shaw Delaporte, 2011). The unique concept about
ASL, though, is that it actually has very strong ties and connections with the French Sign Language,
also known as LFS. This connection is explained by Delaporte Shaw (2009) and Shaw Delaporte
(2011) as being due to how ASL was formalized in the U.S. by Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet with the
help of a deaf French professor named Laurent Clerc who used LSF. Because LFS

Cpt And Icd 10 Codes In Healthcare
Physicians and other facilities are paid by insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid,
based on the procedure (CPT) code they submit. These codes must be accompanied by the correct
diagnosis or ICD 10 codes. There must be a valid reason for a medical encounter for the physician to
be paid, such as pain, refills for medications, or a follow up for such diseases as diabetes or any
chronic condition. If you just submit the CPT or ICD 10 code separately then you will not be paid as
both support each other. So it is vital that a medical biller and coder be aware of these rules and how
to complete the claim forms properly.

The Goddess Of The Earth Essay
The darkness fills a land where evil runs unopposed, illuminated by the five gushing rivers that
characterize the land, each unique to their region of hell. At the center, the infamous river of Styx
flows from Oceanus, creating a boundary between the land of the living and the land of the dead. The
Kokytos river branches southward off of Styx feeding into the marsh. On the other side of the marsh,
the Acheron river ebbs and flows southeast. Northwest of Styx, towards the Gates of Ivory lays the
waters of Lethe, the river of forgetfulness. Circling the Northern region of Tartarus flows Phlegethon,
winding like a python ready to choke the life out of its prey. Close to Phelegethon, east of Tartus, is
the plain of Judgments where cries of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mi lady, came a death whisper that filled the silence in an uncanny hollow way. Mi lord has returned.
Assured that the spirit could hear that her heart rate pounding in her ears, Proserpina forced her sob
down and refused to cry out in agony. Damned to this land just as much as she was, Pluto s return
came as no shock. She just thought she had a few more days free of her husband, king, and tormentor.
Not for the first time her anger for Jupiter burned in her heart, for surely he would have control over
Pluto enough to force her release, but no the gods were powerless. Not for the first time, Proserpina
wished she would have died slowly instead of eating those seeds prolonging her suffering.
Mi lady, whispered the Laureus. With the speed of Mercury, Proserpina unsheathed her dagger and
launched it towards the Laureus head. With a hellish scream the deposed demon dissipated before her.
Proserpina grinned at her blade, as she bent to pick it up and place it back in its sheath. If only she
could do that to her husband, she would be free.
When the spirit rematerialized, Proserpina acceded and followed the spirit through the palace and
went to the throne room at the heart of the palace. Her husband stood regally on his dais and leered
down at her as she approaches the steps the way he did every time he summoned her. Breathing deeply
through her nose, she performed the ridiculous roman ritual

Explain the reasons why children and young people s development may not follow the expected
pattern Q: Explain the reasons why children and young people s development may not follow the
expected pattern. The child: There are many factors that influence a child/young persons development
such as health issues, personal characteristics, motivation to learn, behaviour, sensory impairment,
disability and learning difficulties. Even before birth a child needs to reach many milestones and
however small or large they can cause a delay in a child s development and in many cases are

A child with learning problems may be many developmental years behind their peers, this will have a
big impact on what they can do in all areas of development including physical skills, social skills and
intellectual skills. They may find it especially hard to interact with children of the same age or stay
interested in conversation. They may also need to have one to one lessons at school to help educate
them as they may not be at the same cognitive stage as peers. This may leave them feeling left out.
Children and young people are influenced by physical factors, environmental factors, social and
emotional factors plus economical factors. Mrs Lorna Stevens SH41481/CCC TASK 1.7 UNIT 1

child s development. Parents have a big role by providing care and guidance for their development.
Unfortunately some families cannot promote the development of a child because of the conflict among
the parents. A single parent can have difficulties in boosting a better development in children and
young people, sometimes a child is separated from its siblings and this can affect them too.

developments. If a house does not have proper

Gerrymandering In The American Political System
There are obvious flaws in the American political system. However, gerrymandering, which has been
undermining American democracy since the nation s birth, has remained widely unknown.
Gerrymandering, which occurs across the United States, is used by Democrats and Republicans to
maximize the number of congressional seats they capture. Every ten years, the government conducts a
census. Following the census, state legislatures redraw congressional districts to reflect population
changes. However, state legislatures are often controlled by a single political party that unfairly
redraws congressional districts in order to win more seats in the House of Representatives (Ingraham).
Politicians concentrate the voting strength of the opposition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In 1842, Congress passed the Apportionment Act, which required congressional districts to be
compact and equal in population ( Apportionment Legislation 1840 1880 ). Although the law made an
initial effort to curb gerrymandering, it failed to adequately define compact. Over a century later, in
the 1962 court case Baker v. Carr, the Supreme Court ruled that congressional districts must have
reasonable boundaries. The court further deemed redistricting issues to be justiciable, enabling federal
courts to decide gerrymandering cases ( Baker v. Carr ). It wasn t until the 1985 Davis v. Bandemer
case that the Supreme Court ruled that manipulating district boundaries for political gains is
unconstitutional ( Davis v. Bandemer ). However, the Supreme Court left unanswered one pivotal
question: What are the standards for identifying and litigating a gerrymander? (Hess, 209). Although it
is illegal, without a clear national standard for addressing gerrymandering, state legislatures get away
with it in federal courts by exploiting the legal ambiguity surrounding the practice. Therefore, taking
the power to redistrict away from state legislatures in the first place is the most viable

4x4 Parts Essay
4x4 parts are necessary for every 4x4 to ensure the vehicle keeps on running, especially after the
breakdown. Before purchasing any 4x4 parts, however, it is vital to know what precise parts you need
to get your 4x4 back on the road. Another thing to consider is the price of those 4x4 parts. No matter
who fixes your 4x4, it is necessary that the parts are inexpensive, yet of a high quality. The 4x4 parts,
especially the Japanese 4x4 parts, are costly. If you still have a warranty on your vehicle, however,

discounts on original parts so acquiring them may not prove to be expensive at times. Some Important

Jaws Novel And Film Analysis
The lure of the sandy beaches appeals to people worldwide. Television shows, movies and the draw of
the beach lifestyle have a universal attraction that one can t help but want to visit. The sun, surf,
barbeques, nothing could ruin a day like that; nothing but a fin in the water. Most beach goers have not
experienced seeing a shark fin in the water, let alone a shark attack. Sharks may be in the close
proximity where humans are but they don t actively go hunting for humans. Media has fed into mass
hysteria and fear of sharks, leading to the mass killing and endangering of a vital creature to the
marine ecosystem. The original Jaws novel and film from the 1970s was very popular due to the way

I Was Only 19 Analysis
I was only nineteen poem analysis
Society is gradually becoming desensitized to the horror through the constant exposure of dreadful
crimes and conflict around the world in the media. War poetry has the power and ability to provoke
deep, hidden emotions from readers and listeners. It allows them to acknowledge a deeper
understanding and makes them more conscious of the tragedy and futility of war. However, modern
war poetry paints vivid images of the experiences in wars and gives better insight into the ethics of
war. The audience becomes more aware of the ethical issues associated with the Vietnam War through
powerful imagery and poetic devices.
I was only nineteen written by John Schumann helps readers to visualize the appalling conditions and
empathize with the experiences of the Vietnam veterans. The clever use of imagery exposes the lunacy
of sending young men to the Vietnam War and captures and heightens the listeners emotions and
increases their sensitivity to the tragedy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Monotheistic Religion Research Paper Monotheistic Religions (comparing and contrasting Christianity and Islam): By Esha Bhogal 9Z Three of the world s main monotheistic religions are Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Monotheism can be defined as the doctorine or belief that there is only one god. These popular religions are similar in the fact that they are monotheistic but they choose to express their religious beliefs in a variety of different ways. Islam was founded by Muhammad, a man who believed in only one god, Allah. Muhammad was a prophet whose conversations with God allowed him to transcribe the Qu ran. A common symbol of Islam is the crescent moon and star. This depicts a waxing and waning moon that represents life, death and fertility. Over time it has become associated with the Islam religion but this was not always the case and still some scholars reject this as a significant Muslim symbol. Muslims worship in Mosques where they are always facing Mecca. Mecca is an extremely holy site for Muslims as it is not only the place where Muhammad was born but it is also where he first received a message from Allah. Here and around Mecca, Hajj takes place. • 3. Economics Of The Gold Standard Debate Economics of Globalization September 18, 2015 Sydnee Lyman The Gold Standard Debate Beginning in 1870, each nation converted their national currencies to their relative worth in gold. This was called the Gold Standard and it has brought up many arguments between politicians, businessmen, and organizations with prominent economists on whether or not to return to it. Although there are multiple reasons why America should not return, there are also many resurfaced ideas that would make it very profitable for us to do so. The United States abandoned the gold standard to finance WWI. Shortly after the war was the beginning of the Great Depression. The Gold Standard constrained governments from helping the financial system and the economy during this time. The reason we abandoned the Gold Standard was because of the crisis our country and many others were in. The Gold Standard began in 1870 in Britain, which ironically was the first country to go off of it in 1931. The United Stated adopted this policy in 1913, this guaranteed the amount of paper money you had could be returned to the government for the amount it is worth in gold. This made paper money actually worth something to citizens living in nations where they were unsure of the value. When gold deposits were mined, the value of currency dropped. In America, printing money was the cause of hyperinflation. During WWI, many countries abandoned the Gold Standard to finance the war then returned shortly after. Then in 1929, ... Essay on The Role of Men and Women In order to fully comprehend and appreciate the implication of literature and the power it has to elucidate upon life s various facets, it is imperative to compare and contrast various works, which possess certain concepts and beliefs that are common. No Exit by Jean Paul Satre and Night Flight by Antoine De Saint Exupery are two works of literature that share certain ideas and concepts, one of which is the exemplification of the different roles that men and women play in society and how they have been conformed to occupy certain positions. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my opinion, gender roles are being challenged today to a certain degree, but in order for us to become more open minded, it is imperative to find a central path between the two extremes. While it is important for us to maintain our physiological differences and fulfill certain individual responsibilities, it is equally important for women to assume more significant roles outside the household and to realize their full potential. No Exit, by Jean Paul Satre follows three characters who have been condemned to hell , for the evil deeds committed by them. Here, Satre has represented hell, not in its biblical or Christian sense, where the sinners and transgressors are tortured, but as a room, with no windows and only one door, and where the inhabitants are left alone with their thoughts and the other persons that reside therein. As the play unfolds, the audience is made aware of the sins committed by the individuals that have caused them to be here, including adultery, murder and cowardice. Through this explication, the author has showed us the differing gender roles adopted by men and women but more importantly how certain individuals will tend to deviate from these norms. Though the expected norm is for a man to be brave and fearless, Joseph Garcin is a coward and refuses to accept his responsibilities, made abundantly clear by his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Function Of Insulin Or Rapid-Acting Insulin Analogs insulin or rapid acting insulin analogs Preparations included with phenolic excipients serves two purposes: retaining solution sterility and stabilization of the insulin molecule in the hexameric form to avoid aggregation(35). These compounds are may cause problems since they are proved to be toxic and irritant, and are being investigated for their role as sensitizers and carcinogens (36). Generally the human insulin monomers may assemble into insulin dimer and insulin hexamer which is more stable than that of dimeric form. Regarding the main function of insulin which is regulating the uptake of glucose, both insulin dimer and hexamer are inactive in biological environment. However they are much more stable from conformational viewpoint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When phenolic preservatives were depleted insulin glulisine dissociated or broke down from a structure with higher molecular weight (hexamer) structures into a number of intermediate molecular weight one, usually between monomer and hexamer, whereas insulin aspart and insulin lispro separated into monomers and dimmers. The ultimate disintegration of Insulin lispro and aspart was due to the large extent of their dissociation when they were depleted of their excipients while insulin glulisine was dissociated to intermediate molecular weight molecules in the absence of the phenol and m cresol (39). In general they concluded that insulin degradation was inversely related to the concentration of phenol and m cresol as phenolic preservatives. Tissue response and inflammation (cytotoxic effect of insulin with and without excipients) CD54, CD11b and CD14 are surface proteins considered as markers of inflammatory cell activation. Weber et al explored these markers to investigate whether the phenol and m cresol could cause the inflammatory response. Following prior research, I used the CDC s age distribution for each year to calculate the expected number of abortions that occurred in the age distribution of Add Health for each year, except in the years when an age distribution was collected by the Guttmacher Institute s survey of abortion patients (Kost and Jones 2007; Fu et al. 1998). Because the CDC data is provided in ages ranges (under 15; 15 19; 20 24; 25 29; 30 34; 35 39; 40+), the Add Health data was restricted to best match these ranges (see Appendix 2 for further details). The overall quality analyses (years 1994 through 2007) could potentially include pregnancies between the ages of 10 (the youngest individuals in Wave 1 in 1994) and 32 (the oldest individuals in Wave 4 in 2008). • 8. Bounded Rationality Theory I think everyone is in agreeance that there are several elements involved in criminality and why crime is ever an option. One significant reason why an individual turns to a life of crime is that of necessity. There are law abiding citizens going to work every day, and they still will not have enough to sustain a healthy lifestyle. They are the working to be poor. It refers to the idea that the human information processing restrictions place limitations on the ability to make determinations, which is not necessarily rational because of the control of the rewards. This concept is similar to the drug dealer that refuses to get more narcotics that he can sell. They are weighing the benefits received with only making enough money to buy more drugs. They do not want to increase their productivity because of the increased risk of prosecution or being victimized by other criminals. Therefore they stay within a safe zone continuing the risk of illegal activity but not receiving a substantial reward (Johnson Payne, 2016). I was also intrigued by the prospect theory, which suggests a value function that resembles the classical benefit in the outcomes related to targets. Also, a criminal will avoid risk when they are associated with receiving gains, but will, however, take a chance or risk to avoid losses. Then finally in the prospect theory the losses massively outnumber the gains, therefore becoming more impactful and overpowering the rewards. • 9. Harm Principle Argument Analysis Harm can be understood by many individuals in a multitude of ways; however, one theory that would not agree with Donald Trump s claim concerning the American Flag would be Mill s Harm Principle, as the only harm that constitutes regulation is physical harm when it concerns our rights. Mill states that limitations cannot be placed on one s freedom of liberty if no injury is created thus (Mill, On Liberty 71 75). Being offended by the burning of an American Flag, for example, would not require any form of regulation of this symbolic, since it does not cause physical injury. Mill also supports the acceptance of this symbolic speech, as a form of maximizing social utility and happiness, while lowering government coercion/control. In addition, Feinberg expands upon this utilitarian ideal to include the other forms of harm that fall within the extent of our rights, where he scrutinizes various instances of emotional/psychological harm (e.g., embarrassment, disgust, fear) to make the individual question if the harm ... Consequently, this progression would be seen, from Devlin perspective, as a form of regression, as we are losing our values. As a critique to Mill s Harm Principle, even if it does not physically harm someone, one is still harmed by the act, since society is built and modified based on the social practices. More explicitly, conservative communitarians would view the acceptance of flag burning as a social practice of society that will lead it to fall apart if it changes the values that it was built ... The author does this so that they can better connect their audience to the poem and make them relate more to the characters present in the poem. After reading the poem, it is discovered that the women s conflict in herself is that she isn t recognized enough for all the stuff that she does, and that the reason she is comparing herself to office objects is because she feels like a machine, doing the same thing every day, and never getting a break. They can be seen in many diverse ways from person to person. In the article Dating Earth, it mentioned the background of the concept of uniformitarianism and catastrophism. People who had biblical views were considered catastrophists and were known scientists who invoked supernatural causes. Uniformitarianism is a concept that is viewed as gradual constant change, or no change at all. This view can be debatable with catastrophism which is sudden or immediate change because a small change over time that seems so constant can feel sudden at the same time. It depends how you view it and see the picture in our histories time lapse. When we define constant we view it as a nice even flow, but sometimes the flow can be higher at times and lower which can equal to the even gradual concept of uniformitarianism while it can be viewed as a catastrophic event too because if we think about the butterfly effect that small sudden change can be so unique and make big changes even though it seemed small and equal like uniformitarianism. The Butterfly Effect mentioned how Lorenz made a small change to his systems of equations which proved to be catastrophic even though the numbers seemed very small to even make a difference. • 21. The Brown Auto Company Essay The Brown Auto Company At the Brown Auto Company, the two partners divided the operational responsibilities. Robert performed the duties of the primary salesman and the chief mechanic whereas his brother, Harry, more commonly called Skin, ran the office. The Ford Motor Company shipped each Model T, colloquially nicknamed the Tin Lizzie, into Bradley on the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul Railroad only partially assembled. Since the body, frame, engine, wheels, doors, and windows, each came as parts; the brothers completed the assembly on the rail siding before driving them to the garage. The Brown Auto Company, which used Bradley s Fourth of July parade to advertise their product, on at least one occasion, obtained assistance from Robert s multi talented wife, Bessie, for the design and construction of a float. Using Ford s colors, Bessie decorated the float, which featured a Model T on a flatbed truck, by sewing many strips of crêpe together to create a huge blue and white hoop skirt around the car. The float prominently displayed Ford s motto, Henry s Made a Lady out of Lizzie. Selling cars sometimes required overcoming unique challenges. The owner of Carson s Ranch, Lloyd Carson, held a contest to determine if he would buy a Ford or a Chevrolet. By delineating Louise as a flat and dynamic character, Chopin is able to convey her theme that real freedom is found in death. In contrast to the people who believe that drug testing is helpful and necessary in schools, others have a sharp difference in opinions. These people think that random drug testing is not associated with a change in the numbers of students who use drugs in any category ( Random Drug Testing Cannot Prevent Student Drug Abuse ). Disbelievers in the programs believe that they violate student rights and feed more money into the drug testing industry. • 40. A Strong Argument Goes Down Hill Susan Dinh Breanne Hager Febraury 15, 2016 When A Strong Argument Goes Down Hill In today s society, everyone has heard of the saying, Education is important and college is the key to a well off life. Some may think on the contrary that there are other routes that one may can take and still become successful in life as well. College is not the only answer to every individual. Not everybody is academically driven so the topic still appears to be very much controversial. In the essay, Is College for Everyone, Pharinet articulates her perspective on the reason why she thinks that college is not really meant for everybody. Pharinet presented her side of the argument to her audience by laying out dome persuasive techniques. She uses a mixture or logos, ethos, and pathos to defend her case. Since, Pharinet s has a background of being a professor, she has some authority over this argument because she has witnessed first hand on how college students act and interacted with college students before. However, Pharinet demonstrations slight bias perspectives though out her argument she is very narrow minded. Even though her arguments are stated clearly she is lacking on her claims she backs up her argument with biased logic, uncited statistics, and a lot of pathos. Within Pharinet essay, she does a wonderful job at presenting her views of the topic on, Is College for Everyone. However, her claims are weak due to the lack of evidence. Pharinet included a ... • 41. History And Perceptions Of American Sign Language Essay History and Perceptions of American Sign Language Sign language is one most common ways for deaf individuals to communicate without using of their voices. Different cultures and languages will typically have their own version of sign language so signs are not always universal, just like gestures are not universal. Signs are culturally bound in communication just like verbal languages and gestures are culturally bound. I will examine the history of American Sign Language, as well as how it has been viewed culturally with positive and negative social implications in the U.S. History of American Sign Language In order to fully understand the creation of American Sign Language (ASL), it must be understood that it is a form of communication. That means every sign has a meaning that is culturally bound just like languages in oral communication. That also means that the language has a distinctive origin. In fact, ASL carries several linguistic features that are similar to spoken languages (Rosen, 2008) such as the presence of homonyms and its constant evolution (Shaw Delaporte, 2011). The unique concept about ASL, though, is that it actually has very strong ties and connections with the French Sign Language, also known as LFS. This connection is explained by Delaporte Shaw (2009) and Shaw Delaporte (2011) as being due to how ASL was formalized in the U.S. by Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet with the help of a deaf French professor named Laurent Clerc who used LSF. Because LFS ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the center, the infamous river of Styx flows from Oceanus, creating a boundary between the land of the living and the land of the dead. The Kokytos river branches southward off of Styx feeding into the marsh. On the other side of the marsh, the Acheron river ebbs and flows southeast. Northwest of Styx, towards the Gates of Ivory lays the waters of Lethe, the river of forgetfulness. Circling the Northern region of Tartarus flows Phlegethon, winding like a python ready to choke the life out of its prey. Mi lady, came a death whisper that filled the silence in an uncanny hollow way. Mi lord has returned. Assured that the spirit could hear that her heart rate pounding in her ears, Proserpina forced her sob down and refused to cry out in agony. Damned to this land just as much as she was, Pluto s return came as no shock. She just thought she had a few more days free of her husband, king, and tormentor. Not for the first time her anger for Jupiter burned in her heart, for surely he would have control over Pluto enough to force her release, but no the gods were powerless. Not for the first time, Proserpina wished she would have died slowly instead of eating those seeds prolonging her suffering. Mi lady, whispered the Laureus. With the speed of Mercury, Proserpina unsheathed her dagger and launched it towards the Laureus head. With a hellish scream the deposed demon dissipated before her. Proserpina grinned at her blade, as she bent to pick it up and place it back in its sheath. If only she could do that to her husband, she would be free. When the spirit rematerialized, Proserpina acceded and followed the spirit through the palace and went to the throne room at the heart of the palace. Her husband stood regally on his dais and leered down at her as she approaches the steps the way he did every time he summoned her. • 45. Gerrymandering In The American Political System There are obvious flaws in the American political system. However, gerrymandering, which has been undermining American democracy since the nation s birth, has remained widely unknown. Gerrymandering, which occurs across the United States, is used by Democrats and Republicans to maximize the number of congressional seats they capture. Every ten years, the government conducts a census. Following the census, state legislatures redraw congressional districts to reflect population changes. However, state legislatures are often controlled by a single political party that unfairly redraws congressional districts in order to win more seats in the House of Representatives (Ingraham). In 1842, Congress passed the Apportionment Act, which required congressional districts to be compact and equal in population ( Apportionment Legislation 1840 1880 ). Although the law made an initial effort to curb gerrymandering, it failed to adequately define compact. Over a century later, in the 1962 court case Baker v. Carr, the Supreme Court ruled that congressional districts must have reasonable boundaries. The court further deemed redistricting issues to be justiciable, enabling federal courts to decide gerrymandering cases ( Baker v. Carr ). It wasn t until the 1985 Davis v. Bandemer case that the Supreme Court ruled that manipulating district boundaries for political gains is unconstitutional ( Davis v. Bandemer ). However, the Supreme Court left unanswered one pivotal question: What are the standards for identifying and litigating a gerrymander? (Hess, 209). Although it is illegal, without a clear national standard for addressing gerrymandering, state legislatures get away with it in federal courts by exploiting the legal ambiguity surrounding the practice. Therefore, taking the power to redistrict away from state legislatures in the first place is the most viable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
