This document contains descriptions of various images that will be used in a magazine focused on the R&B genre. The cover page image features a model wearing nice, classy clothes representing money and luxury associated with R&B. It subverts stereotypes by using a white model. Interior images also feature models in dark, classy clothing representing youth and wealth stereotypically associated with R&B. Gold accessories and bling represent money in R&B. Backgrounds like studios and brick walls evoke luxury and youth. Poses aim to relate to the target youth audience.

She also has direct address which could attract the
Audience as it seems she is inviting them into

My genre as she is wearing nice clothes with
Gold/dark makeup which are colours which
Represent my genre. This picture is quite
Stereotypical with the makeup being natural
Except eye makeup but however as I have used
A white girl this subverts the stereotype of
Black people being RnB artist’s which is a common
Theme throughout my magazine. The mis en scene
Also represents my genre as the picture has been
Taken in a studio which could represent my genre
As a studio represents luxury and money which
RnB is commonly represented as.

4. This is going to be on my content page as one of
The three stars on it. I have chosen to go for
The fun look as I believe it would appeal to
My younger target audience than a more serious
Picture. This model represents my genre as
The natural makeup and dark lips/ eyes have
Been added. The clothes which she is also
Wearing represent my genre as they look classy
And by her wearing fur represents money/bling
Which the RnB genre is represented as. Like the
Cover page it is also subverting the stereotype of
RnB artist’s being black.

content page, it is representative of my
genre as you can see the gold bling
which is a representation of RnB.

7. Double Page Spread

8. This is going to be the main image
for my double page spread. I believe
this is a good image as I can initiate
the rules of third as the main image
is to the side and at the side where
the grass is I can include the writing
and the Masthead. I have also
shown bling which is a common
feature of RnB.

9. I am going to include a few fun pictures of
the main image model as the double page
spread is meant to be personal and about
her life. I have decided to take the pic like
this pose as it is a common pose for young
people to do which is my target audience
so they could relate to this picture.

10. This is another picture which
is going onto my double page
spread, I believe I could edit
the background out and add
a white or dark background
to show editing skills, I have
included the classy retro mic
as this is a representation of
RnB and music in general.
