3. When creating my front cover I decided to go for a different colour scheme in
contrast with my chosen style model. This is because my magazine is targeted
towards a younger age group, where as my style model is aimed at people ages
45 onwards. Mojo is a country rock genre magazine whereas, my magazine is a
pop genre aimed to appeal to a younger target audience. I have justified the
text on my front cover to make sure the text is lined up correctly, as you can see
my style model also uses this feature. The masthead I have chosen for my
magazine is also positioned behind the main image of my model. This is a
typical convention of a pop-genre music magazine. By placing the masthead
behind the main image of my model, makes the image of the model become
the centre attraction of the magazine. This is a typical convention of a
successful music magazine as the main image is set to stand out in order to
attract your chose target audience. I have chosen my models name to be
presented in block capitals to make it stand out, by doing this my target
audience will recognise the pop start attracting them to purchase my magazine.
The colour scheme I have used throughout my product is a vibrant red colour to
make it colourful and stand out. The colour red and black also work well and
contrast with one another.

5. This my first contents page I created my contents page on Adobe Photoshop,
like all of my other products that I have created. My chosen style models
image is of a woman, who is fairly attractive and looks appealing. This would
attract male attention. The reason I have decided to use a male as my model
on my contents page is because my magazine is non gender specific and I
have an equal balance of female and male models that I have used on each
different part of my magazine, this is to show my magazine is targeted
towards both genders. I have justified the text into a features column. This is
a typical convention of a music magazine as it shows the most current artists
and their stories in the charts. I have decided to use a Russian red colour for
the background as I think it contrasts well with the colour scheme of my
magazine. My male model is also wearing a shirt that is a brighter shade of
red, if the colour of the background were to be the same as my style model
it would clash with the colour of his clothing. My chosen model is striking
quite an innocent pose to link in with his story about coming clean about his
sexuality to his fans.

7. This is the second part of my contents page. I have decided to have two contents pages in
my magazine as I am following the conventions of Q magazine. I also believe that by doing
this my magazine will sell better as more information is included about various different
artists. As you can see, on this part of my contents page I have followed a lot of similar
conventions to my chosen style model. However, I have chosen to included fewer images
as I think this will make the contents page look almost ‘cluttered’ and unorganised. As my
magazine is aimed towards a small niche audience (non gender specific) I have taken
photos of both male and female. I have justified the text to the right side of the page and
split it up into two different columns, regulars and Lava Gossip. The word ‘gossip’ is likely to
attract the audience and make them want to read on, this is because they are reading and
finding out gossip and information regarding their favourite pop bands. I have chosen a red
colour scheme on this part of my contents to fit in with the overall colour scheme of my
magazine. As you can see at the top of the page there is an image taken of the band Sunset
and Sons at a gig. I have taken this image myself as I think it will appeal to a niche audience
as it almost lets the audience in on the action of the concert and shows them what it was
like.

9. • This is my double page feature of my product. The double page feature is
all about my main model who is shown on the front cover of my magazine.
This is a typical convention of any magazine as the double page spread
usually is all about the main story of the artist shown on the front cover of
the magazine. I have decided to dress my male model in sunglasses to
show that he is composed and confident. The reason he is posing
confidently is to link in with his story of turning his life around. I have used
similar conventions to my chosen style model in terms of the structure, but
I have included more text on my double page. I have went for a fairly plain
and contrasting colour scheme. The colour scheme looks fairly new in
relation to my model turning his life around and making a fresh start. The
style model I chose uses a bigger image of the model which takes up more
than half of the page. I wanted to included more text to have a detailed
interview with the main artist that I used in my magazine.
