Theme Of The Dictators By Pablo Neruda
In Pablo Neruda s poetry it was evident that symbolism was utilized to strengthen his main theme
throughout his poems, some being The Dictators , Hunger in the South , The Beggars , and To the foot
from its child , and within these poems the main theme would be shown to be the unfair distribution of
power and wealth in the Chilean society. In the poem The Dictators Neruda focuses on the leaders of
the country and comparing their work to the work of those who lived in poverty. Neruda sets a base
for these four poems where they re all centered on the same idea, such as the one in The Dictators ,
comparing those who were part of the upper class, and how they affected the lives of others. Neruda as
a poet found many effective ways to emphasize his opinions and views within his own community,
which is why many people who did not agree with his views found Neruda to be dangerous and too
influential over the public in Chile. Over time as Neruda wrote more poems, a pattern had been shown
through his work. Symbolism was the one of the many effective ways that Neruda chose to expose the
reality of the society, the difference of symbolism to the other ways was that symbolism forced the
reader to think deeper about certain topics and that would soon make them realize the brutality of what
was Chile. An odor stayed in the cane fields:/ carrion, blood, and a nausea/ of harrowing petals./

Frankenstein Cruelty Analysis
Everyday, we hear stories of theft, abuse, and murder. Instantly, we judge the perpetrators. However,
why do some people commit these crimes? What causes them to take this path? Are they just
inherently bad, or are their actions influenced from external factors around them? Mary Shelley s
Frankenstein explores this interesting notion of tabula rasa the idea that babies are born with a blank
slate, suggesting that humans are not just pre packaged with certain behaviours or prejudices. Rather,
it is learned. People are born pure and compelled to do evil at the feet of exclusion, isolation or abuse,
just like Frankenstein and/or the monster . In this sense, acts of cruelty in Frankenstein show that
every one of us is capable of taking this heinous route of personal and projected destruction with the
absence of companionship. However, there are always intrinsic motivations or characteristics revealed
about the perpetrator/victim during these violent events. Thus, with further inspection of both
Frankenstein and his creation s acts of cruelty, the reader is exposed to their insecurities, perspective
on women, and dire vengefulness. Violent and cruel acts are usually done to display power or
dominance. Yet, in Frankenstein, they can be counterproductive and reveal insecurities or buried fears
instead. The earliest example of cruelty is when Frankenstein essentially abandons his child right after
creating it: ...I beheld the wretch ― the miserable monster whom I had

442nd Regimental Combat Team Analysis
The United States Army s 442nd Regimental Combat Team was comprised of Americans of Japanese
ancestry (Nisei) who fought courageously during World War II against Hitler s Third Reich in Italy
and France. Its members sustained heavy fatalities but earned recognition, battle honors and medals of
valor. Commanders considered them intelligent, conscientious, loyal, and anxious to prove their
devotion to their country ( 442nd Regimental Combat Team. the 442.org, 2015). Interestingly, the
442nd was organized after more than a year after the U.S. War Department declared Americans of
Japanese descent 4 C or enemy aliens, forbidden to serve their country. There were exceptions made
for those already in military service ( The War ). With their bravery ... Show more content on

To help ensure national security, the Army sent four man teams to all ten of War Relocation Authority
internment camps where 110,000 Japanese Americans and Japanese aliens were incarcerated ( The
War ). The mission of the white and Japanese American non commissioned officer teams was to
introduce the volunteer program and answer questions. The visiting team emphasized the new unit
would consolidate loyal Japanese American soldiers, allow them to become a heroic symbol of
democracy admired worldwide, help return camp occupants to a normal lifestyle, and ensure an
expression of the dignity of American citizenship. The prepared remarks concluded, the proof of a
nation s good faith is to be found in whether it moves to restore full privileges at the earliest
opportunity ( 442nd Regimental Combat Team. the 442.org, 2015). Visits by Hawaiian/U.S. soldiers to
the internment camps convinced those incarcerated that these were men to be respected for their
willingness to fight in spite of the trampling of their rights and the unconstitutional incarceration of

The Paris Climate Change And Investment Towards A Low...
An historic agreement was signed on 12th December 2015 by 195 nations in Paris, France to flight
climate change and investment towards a low carbon economy, sustainable cities and clean energy.

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. This is a quote of the famous poet E.E

been asked is how E.E. Cummings uses sight and sound to create meaning.E.E. Cummings uses visual

techniques. He makes his poems in unusual formats to create meaning. For example, in Document A he

The Case For Christ By Lee Strobel
Introduction
Award winning journalist, Lee Strobel wrote The Case for Christ to retrace and expand his journey
toward becoming a Christian. Strobel once declared atheist, and now Christian, shares how he began
to look upon the Bible and God. As an atheist, Strobel lived the life of selfishness and only worried to
please himself. When his wife began to go to church he wasn t very pleased until after he saw the
positive and attractive change in her. This is the start of his curiosity and investigation about
Christianity. To relate with his wife he decided to study about this and attend church services with her.
Strobel interviewed thirteen leading scholars who defended their views concerning the historical
reliability of the New Testament. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
126). Next, Strobel writes about his interview with Bruce Metzger concerning the reliability of the text
in the New Testament. Since the original books of the New Testament was lost, how do we know that
the copied text is identical to the memo? According to Metzger, the more often you have copies that
agree with each other, especially if they emerge from different geographical areas, the more you can
cross check them to figure out what the original document was like (p. 76). Also, Strobel asked
Metzger why some books weren t included in the New Testament and his response was that the church
did want to portray such pictures of Jesus in the canon, that the church only wanted the New
Testament to contain only the best historical stories of Jesus. The next scholar interviewed was Edwin
Yamauchi. He was asked about additional biblical proof that confirms the New Testament but he was
not very convincing. The question for Strobel s fourth interview was whether archeology increased or
decreased the New Testaments reliability. Three New Testament statements are entirely unsupported
by archaeology. First, the three hours of worldwide darkness during the crucifixion (Mark 15:33).
Second, the resurrection of the saints, and their following appearance to many in Jerusalem (Matthew
27:52 53). Finally third, Jesus burial in the tomb.

Athenian Women Essay
Athenian Women
Athenian society was very dynamic in many areas while it was strict in regard to the treatment of
women. Although Athenian women were protected by the state and did not know a different way of
living, they were very stifled and restricted. The only exception was slaves, and heteria, prostitutes,
and this was due to the fact that they had no male guardians. Since these women were on there own
they had to take care of themselves, and therefore were independent. In a more recent and modern way
of viewing the role of a woman, independence and freedom to do as one likes is one of the most
important aspects of living. In Athens the wives had none of this freedom and the prostitutes did. Who
then really had a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But when we come to the age of maturity and awareness, we are thrust out and battered away, far from
the gods of our forefathers and parents, some to good homes and some to abusive ones. And after one
single joyful night live, we are compelled to praise this arrangement and consider ourselves lucky.
Sophocles, Fragment 583 from terus.
A scorned wife spoke this in one of Sophocles lost plays. Sophocles has seized the essence of what it
means to be a woman in Athens at this time. The marriage of an Athenian woman and man is hard to
define exactly because there has not been an exact word translated that is equivalent to the word,
marriage. The Athenians have words that translate as physical acts for a marriage for the sake of
having a child, they also have words that translate as cohabit or live together. This leads to the
conclusion that our traditional connotation of marriage as a bond is not the way it was in Athens. The
reasons for a man and a woman to be joined in marriage were nor for love, as we would expect, it
would be for profitable and more pragmatic reasons. Usually most beneficial to the male s in the bride
s life. Since the women were not supposed to be unattended they are assumed to have accepted what
was decided for them in terms of a husband. ...A husband normally addresses his wife as woman. The

Multi Generational Workforce And Training
Multi Generational Workforce and Training Ami Stanton University of Mary Author Note Ami
Stanton is a student in the BUS 622 (Human Resources Development class at University of Mary).
Correspondence concerning this assignment should be addressed to Ami Stanton; email:
astanton1@umary.edu. Abstract The workplace is changing in demographics and diversity not only
racially, but now generationally. The civilian labor force is projected to increase by 18 million
between 2012 and 2022, reaching 163 million by 2022. The workforce will be older and more
culturally diverse than at any time in the past 40 years (Noe, 2017, p. 22). The workforce is aging. The
Baby Boomers (born in 1946 to 1964) are still in the workforce unable to retire. According to Noe
(2017), in 2012, 65% was comprised of 55 years and older. The percentage of 55 years and older will
remain almost constant in 2022 with 63%. With multi generational workforce, some employees will
prefer either Traditional or Technology based training methods. Does this mean trainers will need to
acquire additional skills to train employees who are Traditionalists or technology based?
Multigenerational Workforce For many years, the focused was on aging workforce issues; however,
there is a shift to managing a multigenerational workforce (Cekada, 2012). There are five generations
in the workforce, each unique and with similar characteristics as the others as listed in the Employee
Training Development textbook by Noe (2017):

recommended that positive end expiratory pressure is set to avoid extensive lung collapse on

increase in arterial oxygenation and helped prevent a deterioration in pulmonary gas exchange.
(Putensen et al 2006) Studies have been carried out to determine whether high PEEP increases patients
outcomes. These include the ALVEOLI study and the Lung Open Ventilation (LOV). These studies do
not show an improvement on mortality with the increase in PEEP however show a decrease in days on

Why Was Theatre So Popular In American Theatre
Back In Time Theatre has a huge effect on people not only in America but also London. The British
Invasion has really shaped on how theatre is in the present day. When the british invasion came to be
this was when the american director choreographer era just ended. Around this time is when musical
theatre really began to plummet. One of the reasons why theatre was in such a bad place at this time
and was not popular was because the shows that were on the stage were not a success. Some of the
shows at this time were Rags, Smile, and Nick and Nora. Because of the failure in shows, the runnings
on broadway dropped dramatically. Within 10 years the amount of shows running went from 32 to
only 19. It can be assumed that because the amount of shows dropped that attendance dropped as well.
No one wanted to go watch theatre anymore so the attendance dropped from 6 million people to 4.6
million people. Theatre was so low right before the british invasion started. America welcomed the
invasion because theatre was not thriving at all. If London was successful in theatre there, that would
mean more tourists would travel to New York and make it more successful there as well, which it did.

The more shows put on the more people would sell and rent props help make the sets, or just be
involved in theatre somehow. Having more available jobs for people is never a bad thing. The thriving
of broadway once again has helped many people be able to provide for their families and be able to
put food on the table for them. This also ties in on what was happening in America during this time
period. Ronald Reagan just became president. Ronald Reagan was able to bring a new control in
social, economic and political life. When he did so he was able to help create more job, in the similar
way that because theatre began to become popular again it created more jobs as

Family Is The Most Important Elements Of Life

important people in my life alongside my younger brother. Nothing that I have acquired would have

Grammar Is The Foundation Of The Majority Of Our Literary...
Grammar is the foundation of the majority of our literary works throughout the years. Although as
teaching styles evolve throughout time, the instruction of grammar should evolve as well. An article in
The Atlantic, The Wrong Way to Teach Grammar, by Michelle Navarre Cleary, touches base on how
grammar lessons today should be learned through the use of creative writing rather than more
traditional means of grammar instruction. Her article does well as she connects the reader logically
and emotionally about how grammar hinders people s passion of English and writing. Although, I do
believe that grammar can first be taught by more traditional means to understand how to use the skill
and then later be applied through creative writing, rather than eliminating grammar lessons altogether.
The author, Michelle Cleary, who is now an associate professor and dean at DePaul University is
accredited with her professional writing skills. Before working at DePaul, she taught writing at a
community college for eight years. However, the dropout rate at the community college was
astoundingly at a 90 percent rate. She infers that one of the primary culprits for not finishing school
was the required developmental writing classes with traditional grammar lessons. Ms. Cleary also
mentions how students tell her these grammar confessions which would altogether have them avoid
writing. Although grammar is not generally enjoyable to learn, it is helpful to learn and refresh the
rules of grammar

The Representation Of The Saracens In The Song Of Roland
From the beginning of the Song of Roland, the narrator of the story lets us know exactly whose side to
be on. The Saracens would be seen as equal to Franks but on the opposing side. The way the Saracens
were represented in a negative light to make the Franks seem as though they are good guys. The
representation of the Saracens in The Song of Roland is noticeably different from the way the Franks
are viewed in the text by shedding a negative light over the Saracens to ensure that the Saracens are
seen as a negative character. This helps build a larger conflict within the story. The leaders mentioned
in the Song of Roland are represented differently to show conflict between characters. In the first
laisses they speak greatly about King Charles who is the leader of the Franks. Then transitions into
something that is not seen as good which is speaking of the King Marsile as a person who does not
love God. If the word love was replaced with the word believe it might have given the story a new
context. This would ve made the Saracens have a chance in the story. Showing conflict between
leaders in the story at the beginning is a lead into the larger conflict within the story. This helps with

Example Of A Christian Research Paper
A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity, an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion based on the
life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Christian derives from the Koine Greek word Christós, a translation
of the Biblical Hebrew term mashiach.
There are diverse interpretations of Christianity which sometimes conflict. However, Whatever else
they might disagree about, Christians are at least united in believing that Jesus has a unique
significance. It is also used as a label to identify people who associate with the cultural aspects of
Christianity, irrespective of personal religious beliefs or practices.
According to a 2011 Pew Research Center survey, there were 2.2 billion Christians around the world
in 2010, up from about 600 million in 1910. According to 100 Years of Nobel Prizes, a review of
Nobel prizes awarded between 1901 and 2000 reveals that of Nobel Prizes laureates identified
Christianity in its various forms as their religious preference.
Etymology
The Greek word, meaning follower of Christ , comes from, meaning anointed one , with an adjectival
ending borrowed from Latin to denote adhering to, or even belonging to, as in slave ownership. In the
Greek Septuagint, christos was used to translate the Hebrew ‫יַח‬ ‫ִׁש‬‫ָמ‬, meaning anointed. In other
European languages, equivalent words to Christian are likewise derived from the Greek, such as
Chrétien in French and Cristiano in Spanish.

came around. An argument by culinary Luddites that is often thrown around is that our ancestors never
had the access to these options and lived a much happier natural lifestyle. Rachel Laudan brought
these points to the forefront to be critiqued in her writing In Praise of Fast Food . Rachel Laudan
brings the argument that individuals have always participated in the consumption of convenience
based foods, the goal in growing and producing food has always been to alter produce to make it more
convenient as well as better tasting. Fast food is not as new of an invention as many believe it to be.
Modern mainstream media outlets have pushed the belief that processing food has been the worst
thing for the well being of the human body. Rachel Laudan makes some very solid points in the fast
food debate that should be noted.
It is commonly believed that fresh and natural is the correct dietary plan above all else. To start out,
Rachel Laudan brings up the concept that going back to the way of our ancestors may not be what
individuals need in the modern world. Rachel Laudan questions the idea that the people of the past
lived a much healthier lifestyle than the current population finds acceptable by giving the reader
mental imagery about how the people of the past truly were living and how undesirable that life was.
Consequently, Rachel Laudan backs up her beliefs by arguing about the benefits of the healthy natural
eating of the people of the past Natural was unreliable. Fresh milk soured; eggs went rotten.
Everywhere seasons of plenty were followed by seasons of hunger. Natural was also usually
indigestible. Grains, which supplied 50 to 90 percent of calories in most societies, have to be threshed
ground, and cooked to make them edible (Faigley 271). Rachel Laudan seems to be arguing that life
for the people of the past was not something to create a lifestyle around. In conclusion, the lifestyle of
the past was a difficult one based on uncertainty due to the dependency of the crops to thrive.
Next, Rachel Laudan argues the point that the processing of food is not a product of recent invention,
every society

Looking at the data, there needed to be some deleting and altering of the data. Some years had to be
deleted from the data set because the number of records for those years were too low. There were
single entries for years 1809,1810,1812,1863 and 1864. These entries were deleted from the data set.
The year 1932 and the years 1948 1999 were also deleted. The year 1932 only had 15 records, so the

The One Child Policy Restricted Citizens Of China
The one child policy restricted citizens of China to one child per family. This family planning policy
was created in 1980 to help a growing population. The effects of this policy included millions of
forced abortions and sterilizations (Wong 2). In 2013, the policy was relaxed because the drop in
population created an age gap in China. Also the ratio of males to females became unequal. There
were up to 116.9 boys for every 100 girls in China (Luo 2). The old continuity was a one child policy
put into place for over thirty years. Change occurred when the policy was relaxed in 2013 to allow
more families the opportunity to have more than one child. The new continuity is a small, but helpful
increase in population, as more families ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At its peak in the 1960s, the fertility rate was 5.8 babies for each woman of childbearing age thanks to
Mao Zedong s promotion of large families for the sake of the nation. It soon plummeted to 2.9 when
his successors made contraceptives and abortion widely available. (Branigan 2). The population
ending up exploding and in 1982, a census revealed that the population passed 1 billion. Article 25 of
the Constitution of 1982 was formulated to state, The state promotes family planning so that
population growth may fit the plans for economic and social development. (China 1). The government
in China used this Article to create the family planning policy in order to and fix the sudden
population boost. The one child policy restricted families in urban areas to one child and families in
rural and pastoral areas to a maximum of two kids. A government issued report from 2001 states that
the policy had effectively curbed the rapidly growing population (Luo 1). The government also stated
that without the enforcement of this policy the population would have had an extra 330 million people
in 2001. To keep this policy in tact over the years, a financial punishment of heavy fines up to $300
were set in place. Although this policy helped stop the population explosion, it created a new crisis: in

Merlin s Resident Forest In Arthurian Myth
Moving on, though Geoffrey s description of Merlin s resident forest is picturesque, it must be noted
that the forest in Arthurian tradition held demonic elements, the ancestral spirits, and the forces of
nature... The Medieval society existed in a microcosm anything outside the boundaries of said society
existed the dark and unknown this was the land of monsters. In the Vita, this is where Merlin chooses
to reside, and in Robert s Merlin, Merlin becomes one of these spirits himself:
[Gawain] continued the quest for Merlin, going all through the realm of Logres and at length to Little
Britain. As he was riding through the forest at Broceliande, he heard Merlin speaking, but could not
see him. / Merlin said that he could never come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet another element exists in Merlin s sojourn from society. For example, upon seeing an old
companion recover from being a wild man tanks to a magical fountain in the forest, Merlin instructs
the man to act in service to God in tank for his recover, upon which the man replies Reverend father...
I shall joyfully stay in the woods with you, and worship God with my whole mind. Merlin, in
Geoffrey s account, continues to serve God, and as state before, espouses wisdom even through his
madness. Perhaps instead of a demonic spirit, Merlin can be understood as a hermetic saint. Neil
Thomas, for his part argues that Geoffrey... must have had to adapt recalcitrant material (which, to
judge from the analogues, portrayed Merlin as a sinner in some sense or other) so as to be able to write
a vita in the technical sense of a saint s life. Geoffrey spun Celtic and Christian tradition in such a way
as to portray Merlin in a saintly light, yet it would be imprudent (as Thomas suggests) to ignore all the
material that casts Merlin as a sinner. Regardless, Merlin s duality is again evident leaving the
audience perplexed on whether to believe in conventional understandings of monstrosity, or to believe
in Geoffrey s narrative

DEFORESTATION AND DEGRADATION OF FORESTS
Introduction: Depletion of forests has been a serious environ mental problem in the world when dense
forests become less dense or open due to gradual loss of trees, it is called degradation of forests. When

words, deforestation means clear cutting of forests. Various human activities have caused deforestation

Sidney Bechet Similar to Louis Armstrong a man named Sidney Bechet was a jazz musician who was
among the best of New Orleans Jazz. Bechet was born into a middle class Creole family that accepted
music as a huge part of their lives. Omar Bechet was Sidney s father; he was a flute player who played
music as a pass time. Sidney had four brothers who also played instruments, Leonard was one of his
brothers, Leonard played the trombone and also the clarinet. Sidney took on an interest in the clarinet
and Leonard passed on his clarinet to Sidney (The Bechet Society. 1997). When Sidney Bechet first
began playing clarinet, he would perform quadrilles, waltzes, and overall polite music meant for the
middle class. Bechet many times would ditch class when he was a child to become proficient at his
instrument and even started to play in local jazz groups. As Bechet grew older, he began playing more
syncopated pieces in brothels and dance halls. Bechet performed and impressed Bunk Johnson, a

Boyle Heights Case Study Essay
Boyle Heights has significantly been a target for several projects and programs that have had impact
on the residential pattern, economic activity, and land use of the community. One of these project is
Pueblo del Sol, a housing project in the Boyle Heights district of Los Angeles, California. Pueblo del
Sol replaced the former Aliso Village in 2003, cutting the amount of units from 685 to 377, a 44%
reduction that displaced former residents. The proximity of Downtown LA is a little over a mile and

Alka Seltzer Lab Report
Alka Seltzer is a medical drug used for pain relief and used for relieving indigestion. For example, if
you have a stomachache or some indigestion problems, Alka Seltzer may help neutralize the stomach
acidity. Not only that, Alka Seltzer is also used for cleaning household items, such as vases or jewelry.
Alka Seltzer contains citric acid and sodium bicarbonate, which makes it dissolve and release carbon
dioxide gas when dropped in water. In this experiment, my lab partner, Rebecca, and I are trying to
find a way to make Alka Seltzer dissolve faster in water. Rebecca and I both decide that if we increase
the temperature of the water or make the water hotter, then the Alka Seltzer will dissolve faster
because I know when salt and sugar dissolve in hot water, they dissolve faster. I predict that this same
result would apply to this experiment.
For our lab, we have six beakers of water. Three of the beakers contain high temperature water that
range from 46 ℃ to 55 ℃, while the other three beakers contain room temperature water that range
from 22 ℃ to 23 ℃. Then, we take six different colored Alka Seltzer tablets, and place them into the
beakers one at a time. We record the length of time it takes for each Alka Seltzer to dissolve ... Show

Essay on The Moor in the Works of William Shakespeare
The Sources and Representations of the Moor in the Works of Shakespeare
One theme consistently reemployed throughout Shakespeare s plays is that of the Other. The Other is
usually characterized as a character that is somehow separated, stigmatized, or noted as being different
from the mainstream ideal. For the Elizabethan England of Shakespeare s time, it may have been a self
defensive maneuver against the encroachment of something which threatened too close to home
(Bartels 450). Bryant lists several methods used to employ this convention of the Other: race such as
that of Shylock and Aaron, nationality as in Iachimo, bastardy such as the characters Don John and
Edmund, social status such as that belonging to Iago, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether the term Moor had a definition of white or black, of pagan or Muslim religion, or area of
origin seems to be interchangeable when one notes the differences between Shakespeare s four
characters. Sources of the Elizabethan image of the Moor most likely came from sources such as
classical descriptions, actual encounters, travel narratives, and literary conventions (Bartels 433).
Why is the Moor prevalent during Shakespeare s time? What was the importance of or the sources for
this new Other in English literature? Shakespeare uses the Moor as being characterized in several
ways and used for varied dramatic purposes. In order to have a full understanding of the Moorish
character in Shakespeare s works, one must look to history s relations and depictions of the Moor and
how it influenced Shakespeare.
Moors were characterized in Elizabethan England as being alternately or even simultaneously noble or
monstrous, civil or savage. Being a different race meant, primarily, being an Other, non English, as
well as non Christian (Braxton 8). The term Moor, as I have noted before, was fairly vague in
definition. Bartels points out that in common usage, the word was used many times interchangeably
with similarly ambiguous terms as African, Ethiopian, Negro, and even Indian

One month later, KV decided to recall some of the morphine sulfate it had distributed, and it also filed
a field alert report to the FDA informing them about their recall. KV immediately began an internal
investigation of their manufacturing process and their products; the investigation revealed that not
only were the morphine sulfate pills oversized, but the propafenone and dextroamphetamine sulfate
tablets as well. These oversized tablets can result in the patients receiving almost twice the amount of
the recommended dose, which can lead to fatal consequences. Propafenone is an anti arrhythmic
medication that treats illnesses associated with heart palpitations. An overdose can cause low blood
pressure or heart palpitations which may lead to death. Dextroamphetamine sulfate is used to treat
narcolepsy, ADHD in children, epilepsy and parkinsonism; an overdose can lead to fatal poisoning
(KV Pharmaceutical, 2010).
The complaints led to the inspection of KV by the FDA from December 2008 to February 2009; the
inspection results confirmed that KV Pharmaceuticals had a considerable amount of cGMP violations,
and even then they decided to manufacture unapproved drugs. While conducting the inspection, the
FDA also realized that ETHEX had never filed the field alert reports concerning the oversized
propafenone and dextroamphetamine sulfate tablets, which is required under the Food, Drug, and
Cosmetic Act. This Act states that drug manufacturers must carefully

Aryan Imperialism
Hitler had special plans for Denmark. He regarded Denmark as a fellow Aryan nation that shared its
Nordic roots with Germany. According to Nazi ideology s scale of racial standing, the Aryan race
represented by the German elite was superior. The Nordic race was a close second and the most
authoritative dogmatists [including Alfred Rosenberg and Joseph Goebbels] of the Nazi creed have
repeatedly pointed to Scandinavia as the true home of the glorious Nordic race. In addition, Hitler also
believed specifically that the peninsula that makes up the majority of Denmark, the Jutland, was
mythically the ancestral home of the Nordic race. Denmark would therefore not be treated like another
conquered country but as an ally. Instead, it would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In response, Hitler received a telegram that simply said, MY UTMOST THANKS, CHRISTIAN REX.
Although the actual German text ( SPRECHE MEINEN BESTEN DANK AUS ) was no different than
his replies from previous years, Hitler went into a rage. With the encouragement of some of his
advisors in Berlin, Hitler adopted the idea that Denmark had become too defiant and uncooperative in
its role as a protectorate. According to several German officials, such as Gestapo senior official Rudolf
Mildner, And ever since then Hitler hated Denmark. Ribbentrop ordered Renthe Fink to deliver a
message of protest to the Danish government on September 29 and recalled him immediately back to
Berlin. The Danish envoy stationed in Berlin was also requested to return to Copenhagen. The cordial
diplomatic relationship between the two countries was

Religions Around the World
Numerous people, all around the world, participate in at least one kind of religion which has a great
chance that monasticism is a possible piece that makes up the religion. These religions vary from
place to place and from person to person. Like religion itself, monasticism varies from religion to
religion and from place to place. The variation that often occurs in the monastic aspect of the religion
is in the small aspects of the monastic life instead of a large overall difference. Small aspects include
things such as the part that monasticism plays can range from small with very few men to large with
many men taking vows and becoming monks. This weighs more heavily than an overall difference
would in monasticism. An example of two religions monastic piece being different because of small
aspects is Tibetan Buddhist and Roman Catholics. Although monasticism is a part of both Tibetan
Buddhism and Roman Catholicism, certain aspects are different between the two religions. One of the
ways that Tibetan monks and Roman Catholic monks vary is their origins. Buddhism was introduced
in the seventeenth century to Tibet from the places of China, India, and Central Asia. Tibetan
Buddhists see themselves as an inheritance from Indian Buddhists, who were the main influence in the
beginnings of the spread of Buddhism in Tibet. The school of Buddhism popular in China, India, and
Central Asia is the school of Mahayana, which deals heavily with agricultural trade for their work.

Ethics and A Few Good Men.
The movie is about two marines indicted for the murder of a fellow marine in their platoon. Private
First Class (PFC) William Santiago died because of lactic acidosis triggered by the assault inflicted by
Lance Corporal Harold Dawson and Private Lowden Downey. This assault was the result of a direct
order by the platoon commander Lieutenant Kendrick. The order was to train Santiago to respect the
Code of the Marines and the chain of command. Private Santiago had broken this chain and written
directly to the NIS asking for a transfer, in exchange for offering information about an illegal fence
line shooting. When Colonel Nathan Jessep, commander of the marines stationed in Guantanamo Bay,
Cuba, learned of this letter, he ordered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, they were bound to their duty; overriding their commanding officer s orders would have
placed their career at stake. This case involves an ethical dilemma for the following reasons: 1. A
murder has been committed. It is not acceptable to take a human life merely because this individual
doesn t get along with the rest of the company. 2. The investigation of the murder is hindered. It is not
acceptable to lie about the cause of death in an effort to preserve public relations or personal esteem.
3. Cadets and officers lie under oath in court. It is unacceptable to lie in court. The military has
determined that it is essential this case be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. A
sub group in the military can t make its own rules of military morality. PFC Santiago is treated as a
means rather than being treated as an end. The murder was immoral in every sense and those causing
the murder should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. We further stipulate that it is
unacceptable for a coverup of the murder. Colonel Nathan Jessup defends the practice of lying under
an area of lying covered by Plato. Plato gave support for some lies when he said: It is the business of
the rulers of the city, if it is anybody s, to tell lies, deceiving both its enemies and its own citizens for
the benefit of the city; and no one else must touch this privilege. (1) If using the Plato type

Complex Software System Development Projects
In the software industry, it is common place to find large and very complex software system
development projects with the number of individual requirements expected from it running into the
multitude of thousand many times. There are usually more requirements than you can implement in
the allocated stakeholder s time and resources. The software solution that the customer has in mind
and wants to be in place cannot be delivered in a single release. Even if it could be done, it would be a
very costly affair which would eat away a lot of time and pose greater risks due to the nature of the big
bang approach one has to follow to implement it. Further, there will also be restrictions in the form of
capital and time from the stakeholder or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So from this it can be concluded that for any project which has resource restriction, one has to
establish the relative priorities of the requested features, use cases, or functional requirements. This
kind of prioritization helps the software solution provider to plan for staged deliveries, to make the
indispensable trade off decisions and also goes a long way in the resolution of possible conflicts in the
future. In concise, the major factors which lead to prioritization of requirements are: relative
differences in importance, limited project resources, long schedules and budget constraints. If we
manage to implement just those requirements that meet customer and user needs, the software solution
provider reaps the following benefits: The product development time shortens: This is due to the fact
that we have only the major requirements to be implemented now. So, the first release will be ready
for implementation early due to less functionalities involved. The product development cost decreases:
There is a drop in the development cost as we are taking up only the most important requirements and
implementing them. Prioritization: Prioritization means to balance the business benefit of each
requirement against its cost and any implication it might have on the architectural foundation and
future evolution of the project/product. In the road map for product development, only the candidate
requirements are congregated and finally during the release phase only these

The Issue Of Beps Involving Interest Deductions And Other...
Countries have adopted a variety of approaches to address the issue of BEPS involving interest
deductions and other financial payments. Some have implemented thin capitalisation legislation,
which in this paper refers broadly to the rules limiting the deductibility of interest expenses and other
financial payments with respect to the financial arrangements of MNEs (I). Some countries instead
rely on, or have supplemented their thin capitalisation legislation with, other general tax law
mechanisms providing for an increased taxation of the returns on debt (II). Other restrictions
applicable to payments to tax havens entities or targeted anti avoidance rules (TAAR) can similarly
tackle this issue (III). In practice, the current trend is the application of a hybrid approach (IV).
I. Thin capitalisation legislation
In this essay, thin capitalisation legislation broadly refers to the general rules limiting the tax
deductibility of interests and other financial payments. Such rules can take a variety of forms. On the
one hand, some countries restrict relief on interest expenses either by an application of the arm s
length principle (A) or by limiting the amount of debt on which deductible financial payments are
available through a safe harbour debt to equity ratio (B). On the other hand, several countries have
adopted interest barrier rules (earning stripping rules) to limit the amount of interest that may be
deducted by reference to the ratio of interest to another variable

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
The topic that I chose to research is Seasonal Affective Disorder, also abbreviated as SAD. This topic
is very relevant to me since I am one of those that suffer. It is very common, and most people who
have it, don t even realize it. An astounding 1 in 3 people suffer with SAD (Molloy, 2014). Seasonal
Affective Disorder is a type of depression that is observed within a certain period of time. This time
frame is from fall to spring, and usually it is around the same time length for everyone. While often
misunderstood as just those gloomy winter days , Seasonal Affective Disorder is very serious and if
not handled correctly, can result in continued depression throughout the year. Another very important
misconception, is that Seasonal Affective Disorder only affects people in the winter. Although less
common, some deal with SAD in the summer months as well. Seasonal Affective Disorder affects
many people nationwide and can seriously deteriorate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having dealt with this myself, I know that it can majorly deteriorate the mental health of the sufferer.
It starts out as feeling slightly fatigued and wanting to sleep more, and increases at a rapid rate to
sometimes severe side effects, like suicidal thoughts or actions. Other symptoms and signs to look for
are a weight gain, loss of interest, tiredness, difficulty concentrating and staying on task, and thoughts
of hopelessness and worry (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017). While not all of these symptoms are applicable
to all sufferers, many people face these obstacles through the entirety of winter. In the cases of SAD in
the summer, symptoms are generally the opposite. Things to pay attention to in the summer are
troubles sleeping, weight loss, anxiety and restlessness (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017). Though these two
types of Seasonal Affective Disorder are fairly contradictory symptome wise, they both affect many
people ver

  • 2. Theme Of The Dictators By Pablo Neruda In Pablo Neruda s poetry it was evident that symbolism was utilized to strengthen his main theme throughout his poems, some being The Dictators , Hunger in the South , The Beggars , and To the foot from its child , and within these poems the main theme would be shown to be the unfair distribution of power and wealth in the Chilean society. In the poem The Dictators Neruda focuses on the leaders of the country and comparing their work to the work of those who lived in poverty. Neruda sets a base for these four poems where they re all centered on the same idea, such as the one in The Dictators , comparing those who were part of the upper class, and how they affected the lives of others. Neruda as a poet found many effective ways to emphasize his opinions and views within his own community, which is why many people who did not agree with his views found Neruda to be dangerous and too influential over the public in Chile. Over time as Neruda wrote more poems, a pattern had been shown through his work. Symbolism was the one of the many effective ways that Neruda chose to expose the reality of the society, the difference of symbolism to the other ways was that symbolism forced the reader to think deeper about certain topics and that would soon make them realize the brutality of what was Chile. An odor stayed in the cane fields:/ carrion, blood, and a nausea/ of harrowing petals./ Between coconut palms lay the graves, a stilled/ strangulation, a festering surfeit of ... • 3. Frankenstein Cruelty Analysis Everyday, we hear stories of theft, abuse, and murder. Instantly, we judge the perpetrators. However, why do some people commit these crimes? What causes them to take this path? Are they just inherently bad, or are their actions influenced from external factors around them? Mary Shelley s Frankenstein explores this interesting notion of tabula rasa the idea that babies are born with a blank slate, suggesting that humans are not just pre packaged with certain behaviours or prejudices. Rather, it is learned. People are born pure and compelled to do evil at the feet of exclusion, isolation or abuse, just like Frankenstein and/or the monster . In this sense, acts of cruelty in Frankenstein show that every one of us is capable of taking this heinous route of personal and projected destruction with the absence of companionship. However, there are always intrinsic motivations or characteristics revealed about the perpetrator/victim during these violent events. Thus, with further inspection of both Frankenstein and his creation s acts of cruelty, the reader is exposed to their insecurities, perspective on women, and dire vengefulness. Violent and cruel acts are usually done to display power or dominance. Yet, in Frankenstein, they can be counterproductive and reveal insecurities or buried fears instead. The earliest example of cruelty is when Frankenstein essentially abandons his child right after creating it: ...I beheld the wretch ― the miserable monster whom I had ... Next, Strobel writes about his interview with Bruce Metzger concerning the reliability of the text in the New Testament. Since the original books of the New Testament was lost, how do we know that the copied text is identical to the memo? According to Metzger, the more often you have copies that agree with each other, especially if they emerge from different geographical areas, the more you can cross check them to figure out what the original document was like (p. 76). Also, Strobel asked Metzger why some books weren t included in the New Testament and his response was that the church did want to portray such pictures of Jesus in the canon, that the church only wanted the New Testament to contain only the best historical stories of Jesus. The next scholar interviewed was Edwin Yamauchi. He was asked about additional biblical proof that confirms the New Testament but he was not very convincing. The question for Strobel s fourth interview was whether archeology increased or decreased the New Testaments reliability. Three New Testament statements are entirely unsupported by archaeology. First, the three hours of worldwide darkness during the crucifixion (Mark 15:33). Second, the resurrection of the saints, and their following appearance to many in Jerusalem (Matthew 27:52 53). • 9. Athenian Women Essay Athenian Women Athenian society was very dynamic in many areas while it was strict in regard to the treatment of women. Although Athenian women were protected by the state and did not know a different way of living, they were very stifled and restricted. The only exception was slaves, and heteria, prostitutes, and this was due to the fact that they had no male guardians. Since these women were on there own they had to take care of themselves, and therefore were independent. But when we come to the age of maturity and awareness, we are thrust out and battered away, far from the gods of our forefathers and parents, some to good homes and some to abusive ones. And after one single joyful night live, we are compelled to praise this arrangement and consider ourselves lucky. Sophocles, Fragment 583 from terus. A scorned wife spoke this in one of Sophocles lost plays. Sophocles has seized the essence of what it means to be a woman in Athens at this time. The marriage of an Athenian woman and man is hard to define exactly because there has not been an exact word translated that is equivalent to the word, marriage. The Athenians have words that translate as physical acts for a marriage for the sake of having a child, they also have words that translate as cohabit or live together. This leads to the conclusion that our traditional connotation of marriage as a bond is not the way it was in Athens. The reasons for a man and a woman to be joined in marriage were nor for love, as we would expect, it would be for profitable and more pragmatic reasons. The civilian labor force is projected to increase by 18 million between 2012 and 2022, reaching 163 million by 2022. The workforce will be older and more culturally diverse than at any time in the past 40 years (Noe, 2017, p. 22). The workforce is aging. The British Invasion has really shaped on how theatre is in the present day. When the british invasion came to be this was when the american director choreographer era just ended. Around this time is when musical theatre really began to plummet. One of the reasons why theatre was in such a bad place at this time and was not popular was because the shows that were on the stage were not a success. Some of the shows at this time were Rags, Smile, and Nick and Nora. Because of the failure in shows, the runnings on broadway dropped dramatically. Within 10 years the amount of shows running went from 32 to only 19. It can be assumed that because the amount of shows dropped that attendance dropped as well. No one wanted to go watch theatre anymore so the attendance dropped from 6 million people to 4.6 million people. Theatre was so low right before the british invasion started. Although as teaching styles evolve throughout time, the instruction of grammar should evolve as well. An article in The Atlantic, The Wrong Way to Teach Grammar, by Michelle Navarre Cleary, touches base on how grammar lessons today should be learned through the use of creative writing rather than more traditional means of grammar instruction. Her article does well as she connects the reader logically and emotionally about how grammar hinders people s passion of English and writing. Although, I do believe that grammar can first be taught by more traditional means to understand how to use the skill and then later be applied through creative writing, rather than eliminating grammar lessons altogether. The author, Michelle Cleary, who is now an associate professor and dean at DePaul University is accredited with her professional writing skills. Before working at DePaul, she taught writing at a community college for eight years. However, the dropout rate at the community college was astoundingly at a 90 percent rate. She infers that one of the primary culprits for not finishing school was the required developmental writing classes with traditional grammar lessons. Ms. Cleary also mentions how students tell her these grammar confessions which would altogether have them avoid writing. The representation of the Saracens in The Song of Roland is noticeably different from the way the Franks are viewed in the text by shedding a negative light over the Saracens to ensure that the Saracens are seen as a negative character. • 21. Analysis Of In Praise Of Fast Food All aspects of fast food have been criticized significantly, especially since the health food trend craze came around. An argument by culinary Luddites that is often thrown around is that our ancestors never had the access to these options and lived a much happier natural lifestyle. Rachel Laudan brought these points to the forefront to be critiqued in her writing In Praise of Fast Food . Rachel Laudan brings the argument that individuals have always participated in the consumption of convenience based foods, the goal in growing and producing food has always been to alter produce to make it more convenient as well as better tasting. Fast food is not as new of an invention as many believe it to be. Modern mainstream media outlets have pushed the belief that processing food has been the worst thing for the well being of the human body. Rachel Laudan makes some very solid points in the fast food debate that should be noted. It is commonly believed that fresh and natural is the correct dietary plan above all else. To start out, Rachel Laudan brings up the concept that going back to the way of our ancestors may not be what individuals need in the modern world. Rachel Laudan questions the idea that the people of the past lived a much healthier lifestyle than the current population finds acceptable by giving the reader mental imagery about how the people of the past truly were living and how undesirable that life was. Consequently, Rachel Laudan backs up her beliefs by arguing about the benefits of the healthy natural eating of the people of the past Natural was unreliable. Fresh milk soured; eggs went rotten. Everywhere seasons of plenty were followed by seasons of hunger. Natural was also usually indigestible. Grains, which supplied 50 to 90 percent of calories in most societies, have to be threshed ground, and cooked to make them edible (Faigley 271). Rachel Laudan seems to be arguing that life for the people of the past was not something to create a lifestyle around. In conclusion, the lifestyle of the past was a difficult one based on uncertainty due to the dependency of the crops to thrive. Next, Rachel Laudan argues the point that the processing of food is not a product of recent invention, every society ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This family planning policy was created in 1980 to help a growing population. The effects of this policy included millions of forced abortions and sterilizations (Wong 2). In 2013, the policy was relaxed because the drop in population created an age gap in China. Also the ratio of males to females became unequal. There were up to 116.9 boys for every 100 girls in China (Luo 2). The old continuity was a one child policy put into place for over thirty years. The Medieval society existed in a microcosm anything outside the boundaries of said society existed the dark and unknown this was the land of monsters. In the Vita, this is where Merlin chooses to reside, and in Robert s Merlin, Merlin becomes one of these spirits himself: [Gawain] continued the quest for Merlin, going all through the realm of Logres and at length to Little Britain. The Other is usually characterized as a character that is somehow separated, stigmatized, or noted as being different from the mainstream ideal. For the Elizabethan England of Shakespeare s time, it may have been a self defensive maneuver against the encroachment of something which threatened too close to home (Bartels 450). Why is the Moor prevalent during Shakespeare s time? What was the importance of or the sources for this new Other in English literature? Shakespeare uses the Moor as being characterized in several ways and used for varied dramatic purposes. Denmark would therefore not be treated like another conquered country but as an ally. Instead, it would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In response, Hitler received a telegram that simply said, MY UTMOST THANKS, CHRISTIAN REX. Although the actual German text ( SPRECHE MEINEN BESTEN DANK AUS ) was no different than his replies from previous years, Hitler went into a rage. With the encouragement of some of his advisors in Berlin, Hitler adopted the idea that Denmark had become too defiant and uncooperative in its role as a protectorate. According to several German officials, such as Gestapo senior official Rudolf Mildner, And ever since then Hitler hated Denmark. Ribbentrop ordered Renthe Fink to deliver a message of protest to the Danish government on September 29 and recalled him immediately back to Berlin. • 41. Religions Around the World Numerous people, all around the world, participate in at least one kind of religion which has a great chance that monasticism is a possible piece that makes up the religion. These religions vary from place to place and from person to person. Like religion itself, monasticism varies from religion to religion and from place to place. The variation that often occurs in the monastic aspect of the religion is in the small aspects of the monastic life instead of a large overall difference. Small aspects include things such as the part that monasticism plays can range from small with very few men to large with many men taking vows and becoming monks. This weighs more heavily than an overall difference would in monasticism. An example of two religions monastic piece being different because of small aspects is Tibetan Buddhist and Roman Catholics. Although monasticism is a part of both Tibetan Buddhism and Roman Catholicism, certain aspects are different between the two religions. One of the ways that Tibetan monks and Roman Catholic monks vary is their origins. Buddhism was introduced in the seventeenth century to Tibet from the places of China, India, and Central Asia. Tibetan Buddhists see themselves as an inheritance from Indian Buddhists, who were the main influence in the beginnings of the spread of Buddhism in Tibet. The school of Buddhism popular in China, India, and Central Asia is the school of Mahayana, which deals heavily with agricultural trade for their work. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Ethics and A Few Good Men. The movie is about two marines indicted for the murder of a fellow marine in their platoon. Private First Class (PFC) William Santiago died because of lactic acidosis triggered by the assault inflicted by Lance Corporal Harold Dawson and Private Lowden Downey. This assault was the result of a direct order by the platoon commander Lieutenant Kendrick. The order was to train Santiago to respect the Code of the Marines and the chain of command. Private Santiago had broken this chain and written directly to the NIS asking for a transfer, in exchange for offering information about an illegal fence line shooting. When Colonel Nathan Jessep, commander of the marines stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, learned of this letter, he ordered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, they were bound to their duty; overriding their commanding officer s orders would have placed their career at stake. This case involves an ethical dilemma for the following reasons: 1. A murder has been committed. It is not acceptable to take a human life merely because this individual doesn t get along with the rest of the company. 2. The investigation of the murder is hindered. It is not acceptable to lie about the cause of death in an effort to preserve public relations or personal esteem. 3. Cadets and officers lie under oath in court. It is unacceptable to lie in court. The military has determined that it is essential this case be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. A sub group in the military can t make its own rules of military morality. PFC Santiago is treated as a means rather than being treated as an end. The murder was immoral in every sense and those causing the murder should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. We further stipulate that it is unacceptable for a coverup of the murder. Colonel Nathan Jessup defends the practice of lying under an area of lying covered by Plato. Plato gave support for some lies when he said: It is the business of the rulers of the city, if it is anybody s, to tell lies, deceiving both its enemies and its own citizens for the benefit of the city; and no one else must touch this privilege. • 43. Complex Software System Development Projects In the software industry, it is common place to find large and very complex software system development projects with the number of individual requirements expected from it running into the multitude of thousand many times. There are usually more requirements than you can implement in the allocated stakeholder s time and resources. The software solution that the customer has in mind and wants to be in place cannot be delivered in a single release. Even if it could be done, it would be a very costly affair which would eat away a lot of time and pose greater risks due to the nature of the big bang approach one has to follow to implement it. Further, there will also be restrictions in the form of capital and time from the stakeholder or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So from this it can be concluded that for any project which has resource restriction, one has to establish the relative priorities of the requested features, use cases, or functional requirements. This kind of prioritization helps the software solution provider to plan for staged deliveries, to make the indispensable trade off decisions and also goes a long way in the resolution of possible conflicts in the future. In concise, the major factors which lead to prioritization of requirements are: relative differences in importance, limited project resources, long schedules and budget constraints. If we manage to implement just those requirements that meet customer and user needs, the software solution provider reaps the following benefits: The product development time shortens: This is due to the fact that we have only the major requirements to be implemented now. So, the first release will be ready for implementation early due to less functionalities involved. The product development cost decreases: There is a drop in the development cost as we are taking up only the most important requirements and implementing them. Prioritization: Prioritization means to balance the business benefit of each requirement against its cost and any implication it might have on the architectural foundation and future evolution of the project/product. In the road map for product development, only the candidate requirements are congregated and finally during the release phase only these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Issue Of Beps Involving Interest Deductions And Other... Countries have adopted a variety of approaches to address the issue of BEPS involving interest deductions and other financial payments. Some have implemented thin capitalisation legislation, which in this paper refers broadly to the rules limiting the deductibility of interest expenses and other financial payments with respect to the financial arrangements of MNEs (I). Some countries instead rely on, or have supplemented their thin capitalisation legislation with, other general tax law mechanisms providing for an increased taxation of the returns on debt (II). Other restrictions applicable to payments to tax havens entities or targeted anti avoidance rules (TAAR) can similarly tackle this issue (III). In practice, the current trend is the application of a hybrid approach (IV). I. Thin capitalisation legislation In this essay, thin capitalisation legislation broadly refers to the general rules limiting the tax deductibility of interests and other financial payments. Such rules can take a variety of forms. On the one hand, some countries restrict relief on interest expenses either by an application of the arm s length principle (A) or by limiting the amount of debt on which deductible financial payments are available through a safe harbour debt to equity ratio (B). On the other hand, several countries have adopted interest barrier rules (earning stripping rules) to limit the amount of interest that may be deducted by reference to the ratio of interest to another variable ... • 45. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) The topic that I chose to research is Seasonal Affective Disorder, also abbreviated as SAD. This topic is very relevant to me since I am one of those that suffer. It is very common, and most people who have it, don t even realize it. An astounding 1 in 3 people suffer with SAD (Molloy, 2014). Seasonal Affective Disorder is a type of depression that is observed within a certain period of time. This time frame is from fall to spring, and usually it is around the same time length for everyone. While often misunderstood as just those gloomy winter days , Seasonal Affective Disorder is very serious and if not handled correctly, can result in continued depression throughout the year. Another very important misconception, is that Seasonal Affective Disorder only affects people in the winter. Although less common, some deal with SAD in the summer months as well. Having dealt with this myself, I know that it can majorly deteriorate the mental health of the sufferer. It starts out as feeling slightly fatigued and wanting to sleep more, and increases at a rapid rate to sometimes severe side effects, like suicidal thoughts or actions. Other symptoms and signs to look for are a weight gain, loss of interest, tiredness, difficulty concentrating and staying on task, and thoughts of hopelessness and worry (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017). While not all of these symptoms are applicable to all sufferers, many people face these obstacles through the entirety of winter. In the cases of SAD in the summer, symptoms are generally the opposite. Things to pay attention to in the summer are troubles sleeping, weight loss, anxiety and restlessness (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017).
