Causes Of Ireland s Great Famine
Does Ireland s great famine sound familiar? Perhaps you didn t pay attention in history class. Being a
locavore is not a modern movement, it has been done in the past and the outcome was as atrocious as
the concept. Not only do locavores negatively implicate the economy, but they also implicate their
community.
The idea of only eating locally grown food affects the economy more than you realize. The economy
is based on trade, by refusing to eat food that s not shipped from a certain mile range locavores cause a
decrease in labor and the consumption of resources like fuel, ...long distance food shipments promote
profligate fuel...free labor... (Source F). Worldwide trading is essential for agricultural jobs as well as

Comparing Terminator Two And Wachowski s The Matrix
Science fiction films constantly question technology s role in our lives. Films such as James Cameron
s Terminator 2 (1991), George Lucas s THX 1138 (1971) and the Wachowski s, The Matrix (1999),
discuss the anxieties and dangers associated with technology. THX 1138 alerts the audience of the
control technology has over the people who use it. The Matrix critiques how susceptible people are to
believe in the visuals of cinema and reject through reality. Terminator 2 focuses on the unreliably of
technology and alerts us of our need to stop relying to machinery and technological development.
Each of these directors portrays the dangers of technology though their own individual use of
cinematic expression. The entire premise of Terminator 2 is to go back in time in order to enlighten
those in the past about the dangerous outcome technology will have on their future. People are
unaware of the consequences of using and developing technology. This irresponsible ... Show more

The Matrix used some of the most high tech technology and editing to do so. Morpheus s ship is
completely wretched and the computers they use are run down. Including unattractive technology in
the composition of the film makes that same technology unappealing to the viewer. The directors
created The Matrix in order to represent the illusions our screens depict. There is editing that slows
down or speeds up the action scenes, like when Neo dodged the multiple bullets, in order to express
the bending of reality. Another example of the cinematic bending of reality is when the helicopter hits
a building and we see the glass walls ripple out. Bending lines represent the distortion of reality in the
film. Technology distorts our perception and confuses us as to the difference of cinematic magic and
the reality of

The Pros And Cons Of Blue Crabs
This perspective often distorts the view of large crabbing businesses on their harvesting methods
which, although are seemingly humane, are actually very detrimental to the crab population. For
instance, when Hal Herzog, a Professor of Psychology at Western California University, ventured to
Florida s Gulf coast, the crabbers there explained to him the two varieties of crabs which they
harvested; the lucky stone crabs and the unlucky blue crabs (Herzog). The blue crabs were considered
unlucky because they were killed on the spot; however, the stone crabs were considered lucky because
of their ability to regenerate their claws, and so crabbers would simply rip their claws off and then
throw them back into the sea (Herzog). However,

Good Vs. Evil In Treasure Island Essay
Throughout many works of literature, a prominent theme has been amp;#8220;Good vs. Evil ;. Many
authors base the plot of their novels around amp;#8220;good guys ; fighting the amp;#8220;villain
;.Robert Louis Stevenson contrasts good and evil through many of the characters thathe creates.
In the story amp;#8220;The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde ;, Stevensoncontrasts the
characters of Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde to further the theme amp;#8220;Good vs. Evil ;. This theme is
common to many of Stevenson amp;#8217;s other works. In TreasureIsland, Stevenson uses the
character Long John Silver to bring out this identicalidea. Long John Silver in many ways can be

As soon as they get to Treasure Island, Jim and his comrades escape from the wrath of Silver and hide
out in a bunker in the forest. Silver soon realizes this and declares war on Jim and his men. While
exploring the forest, Jim comes across a man by the name of Ben Gunn. Ben is the only inhabitant of
Treasure Island, and was marooned there three long years earlier. Ben decides to stay hidden in the
woods while Jim goes back to the bunker. While at the bunker, Jim and his men are repeatedly
attacked by Silver. The next day, Jim boards the Hispanola and beaches it miles down shore so no one
can find it but him. Silver is greatly angered by this and captures Jim along with his men. They
happily trade Silver the treasure map for their freedom, but when Silver goes to look for the treasure,
he finds that someone has taken it. What Silver did not know was that earlier in the day, Ben Gunn had
discovered the treasure and had hidden it in his cave. Jim and his men now have the treasure, and all
of Silver amp;#8217;s men leave after they get in a fight. Jim and his men take Silver aboard to reach
civilization and to have him imprisoned. But when they reach shore, Silver grabs two handfuls of
treasure and fleas, never to be seen again.
From the beginning of the novel, the reader gets an evil connotation from Silver amp;#8217;s
character. Although Jim likes Silver, the reader knows that Silver is the one legged man that the

Zoonotic Diseases Research Paper
Zoonotic diseases is a serious and major concern to human health. What is a zoonosis? Zoonoses are
diseases that are caused by pathogens that can infect different animals that has the ability to pass to
humans. Zoonotic pathogens also destroy biodiversity in fragile wildlife. They cause many effects to
humans in many different ways. Zoonosis are very important to study because scientists await a
challenge on developing vaccines on a developing cure on human aids. Zoontic diseases are dangerous
because it can spread by mosquitos, and ticks. Zoonotic Diseases can be cause by many things like
viruses, and bacteria. CDC and prevention stated that scientists appraised that more than 6 out of
every 10 infectious diseases in humans are spread ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zoonoses shows more existence in places where there are rates of poverty. Many people that reside in
poor rural areas are more likely to eat infected meat because it is cheaper than organic meat. People
that live in places of poverty are more likely to acquire a zoonotic disease because the people are at a
high risk to be apt and to be exposed to zoonotic diseases and infections. Zoonotic diseases are
difficult to get rid of because people who live in poverty stricken areas have less of a chance to afford
to get approbate care to the disease that they receive. Infonet biovision states that there are many
reasons that zoonotic diseases are more common in places of poverty because of unkept or below par
sanitary conditions. Poor sanitary conditions in poverty stricken areas receive more of a chance of
getting a zoonotic disease because the area shows an absence of currency to build well built and
reliable sanitary units. Until the sanitary conditions are upgraded people that live in these areas have
the same or more of a chance of getting these diseases. Another reason as to why people that are living
in poverty are more likely to receive a zoonotic disease is due to the lack of good veterinarian s and
public health services because of the scarcity of veterinary services makes the situation in poverty
stricken areas for the individuals that can not afford the appropriate service that the animals needs.
Many of theses zoonotic diseases in these poor areas result in a crippling disease to the individual.
People who are infected with the disease will not work as well or as efficient as the healthy co worker

The Theory And Theory Of Psychology
Overview The practice of psychotherapy involves several approaches and different psychologists
often use different psychological theories to achieve their goals in treatment and interventions.
However, the combination of these psychological theories is important for the improvement of
psychoanalysis of patients and the treatment approaches used. This paper will, therefore, analyze three
psychological theories which include; attachment theory, control mastery theory and the object
relations theory. Additionally, the analysis will involve the combination of these three theories to
produce and integrated approach suitable for psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. The development of
the paper will involve stating the individual theories and their theorists, an explanation of each theory
and a combination of the three theories to improve the practice of psychology.
Attachment theory
Attachment involves the enduring emotions and deep bonds that an individual expresses to another
person based on time and space. The attachment theory in psychology was developed by a British
psychologist known as John Bowlby through his attempts to bring an understanding of the distress that
children face due to separation from their parents. The theory was developed by John Bowlby in 1958
following the professional time he had in the treatment of emotionally disturbed children in the Child
Guidance Clinic in London. The theory posits that the observed characteristics in children such as

Purpose Of Virginia Woolf
The author I have chosen is Virginia Woolf because I found her a very interesting woman. She is an
English author who wrote modernist classics and in 1915 she published her first novel called The
Voyage Out. She did not attend to the school, instead, she was taught at home; the first thing she
started to write was a family newspaper called the Hyde Park Gate News, in which she recorded all
the funny moments her family spent.
With the death of her mother, she went to King s College in London where she studied in German,
Greek and Latin at the Ladies Department. It was there where she became a radical feminist in terms
of educational reforms. In addition to the death of her mother, her father also died, and as a result she
was in a deep depression, which was the cause of her suicide in 1941.
Virginia Woolf got married to Leonard Woolf, and she went to the River Ouse s banks in North
Yorkshire, where she wrote a series of letters to him before she died. Those letters are a clear proof
that she suffered a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

[ Palusci, Oriana. Translating Virginia Woolf s Music , Translating Virginia Woolf, 2012 p.63]. In

Essay On Embryonic Stem Cell Research
Depending on who is asked, embryonic stem cell research, one of the most controversial topics of all
time, can be viewed as either a positive or negative step to a better tomorrow. A great quantity of
people believe that using the embryos of unborn babies can prevent the next
Albert Einstein from being born, so they are one hundred percent against embryonic stem cell
research. However, by researching embryonic stem cells, scientists can study normal human
development, create new drugs and medicines, and replace damaged or destroyed cells.
Therefore, it should be strongly encouraged to continue embryonic stem cell research because it will
pave the path for a better tomorrow.

Review Of The Fall Of Constantinople Essay
Jeffery Jacob World History [Teacher name here] December 21st, 2016 The Fall of Constantinople
Byzantium was one of the many Greek city states that stratled along the coasts of the Aegean Sea. As
an abundant source of Grains, fish, and trade, she played a pivotal role as a landing for Darius colossal
army against the Greeks; a battleground between Athens and Sparta during the Pelloponessian war;
and a prized tributary under Roman supervision. The Roman Emperor, Constantine I, renamed the city
after himself and the newly christened Constantinople grew to eclipse Rome as the greatest Capital of
Europe. Even after the continent was plunged into the so called Dark Ages ; protected by the
indominable Theodosian Wall, The Queen of Cities , as the Greek speaking Byzantines called her,
retained her position as the most prestine City of the early Middle Ages. And became the seat of power
for the great Basilieis, Greek plural for Emperors, and the venerated Patriarchs of the Eastern
Orthodox Church. Yet the middle ages made life more turbulant for the aged Byzantine Empire as it
lost vast swathes of land to the surging Muslim Caliphate; struggled with internal corruption
throughout its lifetime; clung desperately to its commercial power in the face of competition from
merchant republics such as Genoa and Venice; and embroiled itself into several centuries of conflicts
with the Turks over control of Anatolia, modern day Turkey. However, its Religious influence grew

Invasion Of The Body Snatchers Analysis
Invasion of the Body Snatchers was made during the Red Scare era where everyone in the United
States was afraid of communism spreading across the country. This film is uniquely demonstrating
how fast something can spread, especially when you let your guard down like they did when they fell
asleep in the movie. The use of the pod in my opinion was to represent how easy it was to plant an
idea in someone s mind. One thing about communism is it grew rapidly kind like how the pods grew
in the movie. It didn t matter what the doc did or where they went someone in the movie always had a
pod right around the corner for when they would go to sleep. That is how fast communism spread
when you least expected it there were people among us ready to change

Pros And Cons Of The North American Free Trade Agreements
Trade agreements are implemented among nations to improve economic activity and to facilitate trade
between nations. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is one such trade agreement
which was approved by the United States (U.S.) Congress in 1994 to create a free trade area between
the countries of Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. (Geringer, McNett, Minor, Bell, 2016). Labor unions,
such as the United Auto Workers (UAW) and unskilled labor were strongly opposed to the NAFTA
legislation and the two groups have valid arguments for their opposition. Specifically, the UAW and
unskilled labor were likely to face the most downward pressure on wages as a result of competition
from unskilled labor in Mexico (Conybeare Zinkula, 1996).

Christian Truths in the Screwtape Lettters by C.S. Lewis...
The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a book of thirty one letters in which a retired, senior demon
named Screwtape coaches his newly educated nephew, Wormwood. Wormwood is quite troubled
when it comes to tempting his patient. Nevertheless, he need not fear because faithful uncle Screwtape
has offered his services. A unique character featured in the letters is, The Enemy. This character refers
to God, the natural enemy of Satan. Of course Satan is referred to as Our Lord. In the letters, and
Wormwood and Screwtape try their very best to please Satan and bring him glory. Although the book
is written from the demons perspective, Lewis naturally uses it to highlight important truths of the
Christian faith. The patient or the human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
...Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring but still intending to do
our enemies will, looks round a universe from which every trace of him seems to have vanished, and
ask why he has been forsaken and still obeys (Lewis, 39). What truths are you looking at if you have
never come to know that truths of the Christian faith? Clearly the entire story s focal point is demonic,
literally. Joanie Riche writes, It has helped me gain an understanding of how he forces of darkness try
to undermine joy and truth (Riche). That is exactly what the dangerous duo is trying to prove. That
they can push this poor human to such limits that he/she will forget that God ever played a positive
factor in their lives. These are real things that happen to people. Once devout believers suffer a trial
then suddenly and all together, the mere thought of the gospel is ridiculous. It is a harrowing truth.
Many people are raised to be unbelievers. It does not matter to these devils, they are going to hell
either way. In contrast, the Enemy holds a prominent position in the novel whether evident to most or
not. No temptation has overcome you that is not common to man, God is faithful, and He will not let
you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape that
you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13). Screwtape often tells that the Enemy

Becoming Marilyn Monroe Research Paper
Norma Jeane s Journey into Becoming Marilyn Monroe Marilyn Monroe was born as Norma Jeane
Mortenson on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California in a charity ward (Bio.com). Norma Jeane was
naturally a brunette, but later she dyed her hair blonde when she became Marilyn Monroe in 1946.
Norma Jeane changed her name to Marilyn Monroe because Norma Jeane was not as commercial as

acting, and singing career. Marilyn is one of the most popular movie stars of the 1950s, and is mostly

Social Class And The Self
In this essay I will explore the concept of Habitus put out by Bourdieu which is one of his most
praised and referenced studies and whether is it still a useful tool in understanding the relationship
between the social class and the self. I will do this by examining the theories of social class and
examining them against Bourdieu s work.
The two main theorists on the idea of social class are Karl Marx and Max Weber. Marx based his
theory on the idea that there are only two social classes, the bourgeoisie and proletariat. The
bourgeoisie being the capitalist upper classes such as factory and business owners who exploit and
dominate the mindless proletariat (lower or working class). In bourgeois society capital is independent
and has individuality, while the living person is dependent and has no individuality (Marx, Capital,
2015). Marx claimed that the proletariat would rise in revolution against the bourgeoisie as they
gained a class conscious. Although this did not happen due to the fact that working classes gained
more skills and created unions and labor laws in order to protect themselves from exploitation.
However, Weber built on Marx s theory and believed that Social Class was built on more than
property and wealth, Weber argued that social class is also determined by someone s power and
prestige exemplified in his book The Theory of Social and Economic Organization . Weber linked
prestige to property and wealth but also made point that prestige can be gained

Unit 4 Beatles Listening Assignment Paper
Module 4 Beatles Listening Assignment
For this week s listening assignment I will compare two songs from the Beatle s early music style and
compare it to their more experimental later style. The difference in the music from these two periods is
striking. Can t Buy Me Love and Love Me Do sound like live recordings and can be described as an
audio snapshot, while I am the Walrus and Tomorrow Never Knows are enhanced using extensive
studio production. Can t Buy Me Love and Love Me Do are similar in that each follows the AABA
song form, have a looser texture, and uses simple instrumentation including the bass guitar, rhythm
guitar and drums. Can t Buy Me Love adds a bluesy harmonica to the instrumentation which makes

Tomorrow Never Know uses the rhythm guitar, bass guitar, drums, sitar, tambura, and tape loops. I
like the use of the Indian instruments because they add to the droning quality and other odd elements
that create a heavy, dense texture forming a wall of sound. The choice of instruments and song
structure creates a foggy, dream like or drug induced feeling that ties in with the lyrics which talk
about quieting the mind for relaxation and meditation. I thought at first that the producer used
synthesizers, but instead he dubbed taped loops of sound playing backward at different speeds creates
the unusual sounds. Much of this song incorporates music or sounds played backward including the
guitar solo. The song structure is simple verse form without the use of a traditional chorus.
I am the Walrus uses drums, guitars, a piano, strings, a choir, and radio voices. The song form is
AABA and lyrics are nonsensical coming from three different song ideas. At times, the notes written
for the strings mimics the effect of music being slowed down. The texture for this song is also
complex and heavy due to the use of many types of instruments. The producer mixes human voices
with the music toward the end of the song as it fades out. Even though at times the music is
memorable, I do not consider

The Effect Of Helicopter Parenting
Helicopter parenting is a form of upbringing where a parent is more likely to help their child with all
of their problems. It is not uncommon for these parents to pay their child s bills and continue doing
their laundry among other things when they ve reached their secondary education (e.g. College,
University). (Meno) This type of parent doesn t necessarily control everything the child does, but they
protect them from any possible loss or failure in attempt to help them succeed. Though many have
different views on the parenting method, more research must be done in order to assess its
effectiveness. Though there have been countless books and studies on parenting, there have only been
a handful that thoroughly looked at the effects of helicopter parenting in particular. Research has been
put into the effects on skill development in children, commitment, and emotional stability throughout
their life. In order to understand where these effects stemmed from, research was done to compare
education level at a young age between those with helicopter parents and those without.
Impact on Skill Development When in an educational environment, it s easy to split apart those who
tried to achieve a higher grade point average, and those who didn t. This is not necessarily a reflection
of intelligence level, but rather a difference in motivation. Students with helicopter parents tend to be
less engaged in their school work when compared to those with less protective parents. (Sharon)

Chapter Analysis Of Tea Cake By Zora Neale
Tea Cake s beating of Janie early in chapter 17 is one of the most confusing incidents in the novel. We
read that Janie is hardly effected by this so we begin to question why. Her character finally had
developed a voice and she shows it by accepting the beating, saying that she is strong enough to
handle him and will only speak when she chooses to. In previous chapters we watched as Jody played
god, and now we see this trait in Tea Cake. The storm, however, is thought to be simple and safe by
Tea Cake, when in reality it is a force to be reckoned with. The chapter in which Tea Cake, Janie, and
Motor Boat wait out the storm is the most direct example of this conflict. Here we see humans against
god, Janie and her friends against nature. The

Memory Distortion
Memory vs. Experience Do we really know what is true to remember? Do we really remember the
actual memory? Although some people do not believe that people can mentally delete parts of a
memory, many cases prove this method of memory distortion. The perception people remember that
they had within a memory is what forms the factual pieces of a memory. During the recall and
retrieval process, a memory is replayed consistently, but the more times it is replayed, the more times
new and inaccurate information is added to the memory. We do not choose between experiences; we
choose between memories of experiences. Our memory is tampered with by the many factors that
interfere with the encoding process of memory, therefore, changing the memory altogether.
Experimental work on memory distortion has caught the consideration of the more extensive
emotional wellness field, of the legitimate calling, and of the overall population. One reason is this: In
the most recent decade, hundreds if not a great many of patients have risen up out of psychotherapy
charging their fathers and moms, their uncles and granddads, their previous neighbors, their previous
instructors and specialists, and endless others, of sexually manhandling them years prior. The patients

In some sense the trials in the deception worldview, in which individuals are given transcripts said to

The Revolution Of New Orleans
A nineteenth century San Francisco song reads, The miners came in forty nine, the whores in fifty one;
and when they got together they produced the native son. This sheds some light as to how long
prostitution has been a part of America. Prostitution dates back to the beginning of colonization in the
United States, but wasn t considered a legal act. At the time the laws just didn t acknowledge what a
prostitute or the act of prostitution itself was. In 1721, the French government shipped eighty women
to the colony of New Orleans that housed seven hundred men to promote marriage. Also, as a means
to detour the men from having relations with the Native American women. However, the women sent

Many believe the illegalization of prostitution today to be an antiquated view of the trade, and want to
see it legalized. However, prostitution should not see legalization due to it will promote more sexual
unacceptable activities such as child prostitution, expand the sex trafficking trade, and escalate poor
treatment to those in the trade.
Legalization of prostitution will promote more sexual unacceptable activities such as child
prostitution. It is estimated that about two million children are exploited in the sex trade yearly
(Global Sex Trafficking Fact Sheet). Child prostitutes are considered safer than adults because many
customers feel less likely to contract a STD due to their young age. Forty percent of the US adult
prostitutes today say they were illegally trafficked into the trade as children. Males make up twenty
percent of US prostitution population and averaged a starting age of fourteen. Women make up
seventy percent and averaged the same starting age of fourteen (Prostitution Statistics You Have to

trafficking and presence of child prostitutes has had known increases in countries where prostitution is
legalized due to supply needing to meet demand. Victoria, Australia legalized prostitution in 1984, and
was found to have a dramatic increase in child organized commercial

Military Officer
In your opinion, should the Director of National Intelligence be a civilian or a military officer? Why?
This is a interesting question, after thinking about the pros and cons of whether the Director of
National Intelligence (DNI) should be military or civilian I have come to the conclusion that it is best
that the directorship should be civilian. I come to this conclusion based on this weeks discussion
question being that it is based on the hypothetical scenario in its nature meaning that the DNI currently
is housed by a civilian Mr. James R. Clapper. The position of DNI has a history of predominantly
being occupied by civilians, even though like the current director most of the directors come from
military careers upon retirement or separation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of separation of powers in the matter of national security for instance one might assume
because of its nature that the United States nuclear weapons stockpile is both maintained and
purchased by its respective or individual branches of the military or at the very least the Department of
Defense, however this is not true in fact the nations nuclear deterrent is handled by the Department of
Energy (the Department of Energy is under the Office of the Director of National Intelligence) as it
was seen that the control of nuclear weapons should always be in the hands of the civilian branch of
the United States government (Atomic Energy Act in 1946 signed by president Harry S. Truman). It
does go without saying that there could be advantages that a military officer in assuming the role of
the directorship of national intelligence, however even though he or she may be a far superior
candidate for the position I believe that they would have one hand tied behind their back with both
congressional oversight and being subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)
particularly with world events being fluid and readily unpredictable and sometimes dissensions that
must be made would have to be in a gray area that military personal are prevented from

Border Control Offensive
1) What actions prompted the border control offensive and made the issue of illegal immigration a
priority? In the 90s, border crossing illegally turned into a political issue. Political competitors and
officeholders utilized crusade advertisements highlighting unlawful outsiders are crossing the outskirt
with no sort of effort to establish safety set up to stop them. This thus started a political development
to prevent unauthorized workers from entering the U.S. The U.S. Government reacted by bulking up
the outskirt ranges that were utilized more as often as possible by fringe crossers and runners. INS
dispatched a few special operations to prevent individuals from illicitly crossing the border and for

Biblical version they were monotheistic. ) to destroy the people of the earth. For both flood stories, a
specific person is chosen to build an arc but for different reasons. In the Biblical story, Noah builds the

For both stories a specific person was picked out to survive the flood by building an arc but the Gods
went about it in different ways. In the Biblical Flood story, once the forty days of flooding had finally
come to a stop, Noah opened the window and released a bird. The first bird released was a raven. The
second was a dove. Now in the story of Gilgamesh, Utnapishtim set free a dove first. The second bird
released was a swallow and last was a raven. In both stories the bird were released to find out when
the water had receded. They both conclude their evidence in different ways and the order of the
release of the birds is opposite. God said to Noah, And I behold, I establish my covenant with you and
with your seed after you; and with every living creature with you. And I will establish my covenant
with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there
anymore be a flood to destroy the earth. That s when God made an everlasting covenant between
himself and every living creature of all flesh on earth. Even though, in the story of Gilgamesh, the
Gods decided that it was wrong to punish mankind, they still did not make a covenant with man.
Instead of making a pact with humans they granted immorality to Utnapishtim and his wife. In both

What Is The Theme Of Beauty In Night Of The Ninjas
Morgan Le Fay is an old character who has gone through many changes in her characterization and
personality since she was introduced to literature in The Life of Merlin. Morgan went from being a
benevolent goddess in the medieval times to a sultry witch in the modern world. The 1868 poem
Earthly Paradise portrays Morgan as a beautiful enigma whose looks are paralyzing and powerful.
Since Earthly Paradise was written in Victorian times, beauty was highly focused on; it was culturally
expected for women to exert tremendous amounts of energy on the way they looked. On the other
hand, Night of the Ninjas focuses more on Morgan s ability to time travel to different historical
periods rather than her aesthetic. Because Night of the Ninjas is from modern times, beauty and
perfection are not as important as they were in the Victorian era, so Morgan s powers are highly
valued and her looks are downplayed. The variations in the way different aspects of Morgan are
emphasized is due to what each culture values. Earthly Paradise, by William Morris, highlights the
Victorian way of thinking by emphasizing Morgan Le Fay s beauty. This intense focus on her beauty
is unique to this poem, which offers a window into how people experienced beauty in the 19th
century. Beauty was meant to be shown off and compared, so many upper class women went to great
lengths to perfect themselves. Nowadays our perceptions of beauty are more private and personal; we
find beauty in unexpected places,

A Study On Smoke Management System
1 LITERATURE REVIEW 1.1 Introduction Buildings with atrium are big challenge for smoke
ventilation system, because if fire is initiated in atrium by any different causes at any level of atrium
where there is amount of fuel to maintain steady heat release rate, there is probability that the fire will
be maintained. Study fire development, smoke layer, temperature distribution and carbon monoxide
concentration is complicated and unstable. Therefore, computational fluid dynamics is useful tool to
analyze smoke management system. FDS (Fire Dynamic Simulator) is frequently used tool in such
type of studies.[1,2]. This chapter presents an overview on the previous work in the field of smoke

Causes Of Villain In Frankenstein
On the face of this gothic novel is a tale about a terrible creature that committed hideous acts against
the society. Most readers believe that the monster is the story s villain Contrary to this, the hidden but
true villain is Victor Frankenstein because the fateful events are the repercussions of his reckless and
irresponsible behavior. Victor Frankenstein did not directly kill his lovely family. However, he is the
only one to blame and only cause of the deathly catastrophe through the monster s creation, his lack of
responsibility for the monster, his isolation from the world resulting in the creature s freedom to roam
about at its pleasure neglected and unattended. Therefore Victor Frankenstein was the root cause of the
ruin of his family, his creation and eventually his very own life.
At first, even before the monster s creation, Frankenstein s physical and mental health is already in a
poor state because of his infatuation with the experiment. Every night I was oppressed by a slow fever,
and I became nervous to a most painful degree...sometimes I grew alarmed at the wreck I perceived
that I had become (Shelly 42.) This points to Victor as the sole perpetrator in his pain as he seeks

Gender And Gender Inequality
Long time ago, parents tended to invest on their sons rather than their daughters. In the past, most of
boys went to school, and girls stayed home. At that moment, the women were not treated equally
because they did not go outside to work. The women only stayed home to take care of children and do
housework, so they depended on their husband financially. Nowadays people have still treated one
another differently based on group identity, especially when it comes to gender appearances. Gender
inequality has been happening around the world, it still occurs at some careers, workplaces, and at
home. Culture has a great impact on gender inequality in some developing countries. For instance,
Vietnamese people like to have more sons rather than daughters because they believe in raising a
daughter is like watering your neighbors garden, and raising a daughter as ploughing someone else s
field (Jayachandran, 2014, p. 11). In Vietnam, parents usually invest more on their sons rather than
daughters because the sons play a significant role in religious rituals. Jayachandran (2014) reported
that sons will carry on the family name or widows wanting to retain family land also make the first
son especially valuable (p.14). Therefore, the sons are valued in my family. I still remember when I
was a child, I saw my mother tried to be pregnant several times to have baby boys. However, she had
only one boys, and four girls accidently. When I was a little, I noticed the gender was

Airport Security Research
Need of better airport security methods
Background
On the morning of September 11th 2001 the United States was attacked by a series of coordinated
terrorist attacks and, as a result, thousands of people died that day. After that event took place, tens of
thousands of people came together to form a new agency called the Transportation Security
Administration, or TSA. Being passed on November 19th 2001, the TSA began taking charge of the
aviation security programs that were run by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), by training,
hiring, and deploying security forces to all of the commercial airports within 12 months and providing
100 percent screening to all luggage in search for any explosives by December 31, 2002.
Despite the effort to better protect our nations traveling security, the US has had potential terrorist
attacks through our airlines. People were able to bring unauthorized devices through the security
checkpoints, that we thought were reliable, undetected. Research has been done to the scanning
machines we use and they were proven ineffective and our way of using them as well.

Difference Between Pinterest And Annotated Bibliography
Juxtaposing research via pinterest and annotated bibliography, taught me how social media can be
used as an academic resource and how to adequately identify credible sources for an annotated
bibliography. Also learning to use databases made it easy to find and identify reliable scholarly
sources. Though I was familiar with citing sources, I had always used a web based citation formulator.
Therefore learning MLA 8th edition was a completely new experience. The rigidity and technicality
used to scare me, but the system makes sense now that I have a comprehensive understanding. While
learning to create an annotated bibliography, I encountered a few mechanical errors. I did not use a
hanging indent for the bibliography and thus had to learn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The expository writing style for the annotated bibliography asks the researcher to explain the
article/source while developing its credibility. In the academic world this allows other colleagues to
pinpoint where certain information was collected. The writing within the entry is direct, lacking the
color or vibrancy of the Pinterest board. The writing style for Pinterest is hard to narrow down as a
variety of media can be pinned. However, if we look directly at our classes board we can see that the
style communicates the information in a linguistically brief and concise manner, while the visuals do
most of the explanation. In the bibliography there are no visuals, forcing the reader to rely solely on
the annotated explanation.
The information in an annotated bibliography is built upon scholarly review and recognition by those
in a similar designated field of study. In Pinterest, the first pins on the board set the tone, and the
floodgates open for a rush of ideas. This collaborative nature allows the research to move as a group
conversation among individuals of all backgrounds . Given the popular appeal and brevity of Pinterest
s language, it may not be applicable for very specific topics. (I m researching the American state of

J Alfred Prufrock Tone
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
Paper Assignment Close Reading
In T.S. Eliot s 1915 modernist poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock , the overall mood and tone
in the poem reflect the speaker s opinions of the time it was written in. An interesting way to look at
this poem is to assume that the author used the character of Alfred Prufrock to explore his own attempt
of trying to make sense of the rapidly changing, confusing, and gloomy world in which he lived. So,
we can safely assume that trying to make sense of the outside world is a recurring motif in this poem.
This can be seen by looking at both the poem as a whole, as well as the quote chosen for analysis.
By choosing to use nature imagery, such as Combing the white hair of the waves blown back , the
author depicts the speaker s need to retreat to nature in order to seek a peaceful spot to reflect on his
choices and try to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This evokes feelings of deep empathy in the reader by making him or her better understand Prufrock s

which are singing at each other rather than the speaker, has a very melancholic tone, which is in
compliance with the overall gloomy and melancholic tone of this poem. When the speaker says: And
indeed there will be time / To wonder, Do I dare? and, Do I dare? / , we get a sense that the mysterious
object of romantic interest he refers to does not actually know how the speaker feels about them. We
also get a sense that the speaker is anxious that if he, in fact, expresses his feelings, he might be
rejected. The following verses are linked to the speaker s fears of rejection I have heard the mermaids

Religious Hypocrisy In Molière s Tartuffe
The modern definition of Tartuffe literally means religious hypocrisy. This definition can trace its
roots to the play Tartuffe written by Molière in the 17th century France. During this time the Catholic
church had immense control over the literary content that was being published through regulating
which pieces of work were being released. This power could potentially be used for personal gain and
to highlight this possibility, Molière created his famous play Tartuffe. It was extremely ironic that the
Catholic church immediately censored the play. Infact, this action by the church gave additional
validity to Molière s argument that the church had too much control over the way people lived their
lives through the established church. The crux ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tartuffe initially comes off as a well put together religious man, who has nothing but good intentions
in mind. However, Tartuffe is deviously disguising his harmful intentions through religion in which he
puts on a front of smoke and mirrors hiding the fact that he is, in fact, the opposite of a devout, put
together christian. When Orgon first meets Tartuffe, he has great respect for him simply for the fact
that Orgon believes that Tartuffe is a religious man. Knowing this, Tartuffe believes that he now has
the power to do whatever he wants within Orgon s house. Molière exposes Tartuffe s hypocrisy and
abuse of religious power through the way that Tartuffe communicates throughout the play. The
character Tartuffe does not appear in the play until the third act, once every other character has had the
opportunity to describe their opinion. Molière uses this as a way to expose tartuffe s real character
through the way tartuffe communicates with the other characters. When Tartuffe speaks, he portrays a
very confident superior being to everybody else with almost a divine presence. It fools the society that
tartuffe is targeting and essentially gets what he wants. He also takes religious passages and interprets
them to fit into his

The Abbey is an ABC series that documents the events experienced by 5 women who have been

and obedience.
The purpose of this series was to take 5 very different women who all were to some extent critical
about the existence of God and the relevance of religion in their lives.
The two women I have chosen to focus on are Robyn and Tusa as well as looking at the role that the

connected themselves with God, an example of this was when Tusa couldn t understand the relevance
of religion in her life, Hilda told her It s not our religion we are trying to share with you, we just want
to share God with you .
In the final scenes of the documentary, Hilda talks about why her and the sisters live their lives like
they do and simply explains the whole purpose of the journey that the five women had just finished,

The Module Brands And Branding Essay
1. Introduction
In this report for the first assessment of the module Brands and Branding I will critically discuss the
growing importance and meaning of brands in contemporary consumer culture. Brands are
omnipresent in todays life. Everywhere you look around you can see different brands. Our life with
brands already starts early in the morning when we get up out from our bed, which was made by a
company with his own brand. We go to the bathroom to brush our teeth with a toothpaste e. g. from
„Colgate . Thats the way we go though the day. We write messages via „Whatsapp from a smartphone
often from a big company like Apple or Samsung. Apple for an example is a brand which produces a
smartphones, tablets, laptops or watches. But the names of these products are also brands. When I am
thinking about the first smartphone my first thought rises the „iPhone and „Steve Jobs . A Person and
an advanced mobile phone, but also they both are brands for themselves. So you can see we are so
„manipulatet by big brands that I had no chance to think about any other brand which also produce
well designed smartphones with a high usability. They are not only lifestyle gadges which grew
importance of brands. We can take a look at the brand Rolex for example. Rolex has his origin in

Amendment protects people against unreasonable searches and seizures by government officials. A
search can mean everything from a frisking by a police officer to a blood test to a search of an
individual s home or car. A seizure occurs when the government takes control of an individual or
something in his or her possession. Items that are seized often are used as evidence when the
individual is charged with a crime ( Annenberg Classroom, 2006). This amendment is meant for
agents of the government, it does not apply to people who do not belong to the government. ... Show

But it does not restrict all searches. For example, courts have ruled that school officials may search
school lockers and require that students who participate in extracurricular activities undergo random
drug testing ( Annenberg Classroom, 2006). This amendment gives people a right to privacy. This
amendment can be bypassed by police if they have a reasonable cause to search, which is typically
when people feel like their rights are being

Summary Of Hyperbole By Anzia Anzierska
Anzia Yezierska employs hyperbole and simile in her writing to effectively exaggerate the feelings of
shock, anguish and pain she feels when she encounters her former lover at a friend s wedding. She
sprinkles hyperbole throughout the text, especially in the resolution of the story, where she describes
an encounter with her ex boyfriend: I wanted to run away from him, but everything in me rushed to
him...Such a tearing, grinding pain was dragging me to the floor. She also uses a simile in the
introduction of the story, when briefly summarizing the encounter: The sight of him was like an
earthquake shaking me to pieces. This simile compares a powerful earthquake to the discombobulating
feeling of seeing a former love. These two literary

Examples Of Machiavellian Characters In The Governor
Machiavellian Character Essay: The Governor Brian Blake, also known as The Governor, presented a
terror far greater than cannibalistic zombies throughout seasons two and three of the hit show, The
Walking Dead. He was psychotic; driven mad by the death of his daughter. Using his position as
governor within a small group of survivors and refugees of the zombie apocalypse, he manipulated,
terrorized, lied, cheated, many people in order to secure and maintain his position of power. Out of the
list given in the prompt for this paper, The Governor matches at least seven of the twelve
Machiavellian characteristics. The concepts exhibited most strongly in The Governor, however, are the
concepts of the end justifies the means and the use of force to avoid danger. In the midst of a zombie
apocalypse, the prioritization of self preservation above all else is understandable. However, even
when he had the resources to help himself and nearly 100 other people, The Governor still slaughtered
people who posed even the slightest threat to his position of power. Machiavelli writes for although
the act condemn the doer, the end may justify him. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses force to protect both his position as a leader in within his community of refugees, and he uses
force to keep himself out of physical danger. He himself says, after he killed is right hand man the
man who was arguably his most loyal supporter in this life, you kill or die, or die and kill. In several
instances, this has been the case. In one particular instance, The Governor and his supporters happen
upon a group of survivors, all of whom were members of the military, and killed them all without a
second thought; he stole all their weapons and food. Throughout his lifespan in the series, The
Governor has looked out solely for himself. He meticulously manipulates people in order to maintain
his position of power, and to preserve his

Mental Illness And Self Identity
This issue is relevant because mental illness and self identity are starting to become a popular topic in
our society. People are starting to realize that even though it may be a difficult subject to speak and
learn about, it is important and should be addressed in our society. This issue is important because it
helps people embrace who they are and learn about the issues instead of hating on themselves for
being different and not knowing the real facts about the issue. If we do not learn how to treat mental
illness and accept ourselves, we will never move forward in society and learn how to help others and
ourselves with these topics. By learning more about these topics we can help our society grow, by
discovering new ways to help people with these problems. We could decrease major issues in our
society like mass shootings, and teen suicide. With this topic we can make our society more aware and
inclusive of those with these issues.
Currently, mental health is a major topic in our society with mass shootings and major crises with our
government because everyone says that the shooters were not in a good mental state, which made
them do these terrible things. Self identity is also a current issue among many young people who do
not know who they are and are still figuring it out. Teens who are not yet proud of their individualism
blend into society and become a brick in the wall instead of an individual who values their unique
qualities and culture. Today, these ideas are

Jamestown Vs Plymouth Plantation Essay
The Jamestown and Plymouth Plantation were big acts to our history today. Both plantations were
similar and different in many ways. Jamestown was uniquely harsh, and I could somewhat say the
same about the Plymouth plantation as well. In a matter of fact, the Jamestown and Plymouth
plantation caused a ruckus in their towns/state, enough ruckus to maintain it s name and strength of
time. Starting with Jamestown, it was a scarce plantation. Sailors got what they called better paid due
to the ships staying for a longer. They weren t paid in money, but they were paid with bread, which
was a good item to sell, barter, and love etc. There was something established called the surprise
attack. This attack included Smith unexpectedly returning, the Spaniard greedily desiring gold, and
Smith gets shot in the thigh. Jamestown s plantation was violent, and deceiving. Leading to the
Plymouth Plantation, although the ships were very compact, they had an abundance of things
accomplished. There were a lot of sicknesses and cursing. They were very religious with their beliefs.
For example, they were against cursing, indecisive manners and such. Their sails were very calm and
undergoing, yet they ship wasn t that sturdy. There were some rough ... Show more content on

The Raven, By Edgar Allen Poe
n the discussions of Edgar Allen Poe s The Raven, one issue has been the explanation of the bird and it
s presence in the poem. Majority agrees that the feathered creature does have a symbolic meaning of
the conscious mind of the speaker in the poem. The agreement usually ends with how we
communicate with our selves. Some focus more on who or what a person is talking to with their
conscious while others direct their attention to how we can better understand our conscious
conversations with our selves. Any time someone thinks, their brain has a special, designated voice for
their thoughts. This voice, allows an individual to in some degree, have a conversation with their self,
without necessarily communicating out loud. This voice in our heads has had numerous names
throughout the years, such as a person s conscious or recently has been called the self. Many
researchers have wanted to know who and or what the actual voice is that we hear in our
conversations. Richard Rass author of Introduction to Perspectives on the Self: Conversations on
Identity and Consciousness , explains that self has assumed radically different meanings... throughout
the years (Rass 2). Knowing what self is and why it helps enlighten our lives is apart of the journey.
Rass stated that the self or conscious could play a role in knowing humans psychological composition
(Rass 2). With new research appearing more than ever before, we are gradually obtaining the ability to

Julius Meyer Research Paper
Julius Meyer was a German Chemist, born on August 19, 1830. At first he was interested in the
physiological side of science, but then had a change in his mindset and decided to take up Chemistry.
He was one of the first people to work on the Periodic Table, and if it weren t for him, the table would
look nothing like it does today. He published his periodic table in 1870, it was inside of a textbook.
(Grolier Education). Without Julius Meyer, there would be no periodic table as there is today. He was
the human who realized that the properties of an element a part of the periodic table all depended on
the atomic weight, (Chem Heritage). He had some of the very first ideas that led to the first copies of
our periodic table in the 1870 s (Chem Heritage). Julius Lothar Meyer had figured out and organized
28 of the elements back in the 1800 s into six families. He did this by figuring out the physical and
chemical characteristics that were similar to each other in each element. He organized them depending
on the valence of each element. Valence is the number that represents combining power of an atom of
a particular element. Meyer saw that there were some elements missing as he organized them
according to the atomic weight, and left some spots ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is used in classrooms all over and it is used in chemistry labs all over and just in science in general.
Without Julius Meyer we would not have the same periodic table that we have now. He was the one
that realized that valence is the connection between some elements. He learned that the atomic weight
was the way that the periodic table had to be organized. The periodic table is the reason many things
in science are the way the are now. Now we can find out what is in certain mixtures with just a few
minutes starting at the periodic table. The periodic table is known by everyone and used by everyone
and is definitely one of the most useful way of transportation.

Rise Of Christianity Essay
Christianity began way back when during the reign of Tiberius, lasting from 14 C.E to 37 C.E. During
this time, a man by the name of Jesus began his teachings and Christianity was born. It was a religion
created by the mass number of followers that Jesus procured through his teachings, the people who
held onto every single of his words. During this time, there was much war and many civil wars
throughout the Roman Empire which had erupted into mass chaos. Zealots were encouraging armed
rebellion and it was then that Christians, or self proclaimed people of this new belief or religion,
believed in what they deemed the Messiah, who according to text, would destroy Roman legions and
bring times of happiness to the world around them (McKay, 168). Paganism was another type of
religion that began around this time as well, for the people who practiced religions outside the well
received Judaism and Christianity. What would be known as synchronistic religions blended together
both Roman and indigenous deities. Statues, temples, and monuments were all built or constructed due
to this belief and there was an ideal that existed in which there was believed to be life after death
(McKay, 168). Jesus played a vital role to Christianity during this time, especially where the Roman
Empire was concerned. According to text, he was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would evolve into how we see Christianity today. Another man, Paul of Tarsus, played a very
important role in the finding and developing of Christianity. As Paul felt a part of both the Romans
and the Jews, he would write letters of advice to all of those who came to him. The Roman Empire
could spread its belief and power quickly. The empire in their minds was also universal and so
Christians combined the ideas of Universalism (McKay,

Films such as James Cameron s Terminator 2 (1991), George Lucas s THX 1138 (1971) and the Wachowski s, The Matrix (1999), discuss the anxieties and dangers associated with technology. THX 1138 alerts the audience of the control technology has over the people who use it. The Matrix critiques how susceptible people are to believe in the visuals of cinema and reject through reality. Terminator 2 focuses on the unreliably of technology and alerts us of our need to stop relying to machinery and technological development. Each of these directors portrays the dangers of technology though their own individual use of cinematic expression. There is editing that slows down or speeds up the action scenes, like when Neo dodged the multiple bullets, in order to express the bending of reality. The blue crabs were considered unlucky because they were killed on the spot; however, the stone crabs were considered lucky because of their ability to regenerate their claws, and so crabbers would simply rip their claws off and then throw them back into the sea (Herzog). Zoonotic diseases are difficult to get rid of because people who live in poverty stricken areas have less of a chance to afford to get approbate care to the disease that they receive. Infonet biovision states that there are many reasons that zoonotic diseases are more common in places of poverty because of unkept or below par sanitary conditions. Poor sanitary conditions in poverty stricken areas receive more of a chance of getting a zoonotic disease because the area shows an absence of currency to build well built and reliable sanitary units. Until the sanitary conditions are upgraded people that live in these areas have the same or more of a chance of getting these diseases. Another reason as to why people that are living in poverty are more likely to receive a zoonotic disease is due to the lack of good veterinarian s and public health services because of the scarcity of veterinary services makes the situation in poverty stricken areas for the individuals that can not afford the appropriate service that the animals needs. Many of theses zoonotic diseases in these poor areas result in a crippling disease to the individual. People who are infected with the disease will not work as well or as efficient as the healthy co worker resulting the person with the infection to not receive the money that they need to buy organic and heathy foods, medicines, bills, taxes, proper schooling, ... • 9. The Theory And Theory Of Psychology Overview The practice of psychotherapy involves several approaches and different psychologists often use different psychological theories to achieve their goals in treatment and interventions. However, the combination of these psychological theories is important for the improvement of psychoanalysis of patients and the treatment approaches used. This paper will, therefore, analyze three psychological theories which include; attachment theory, control mastery theory and the object relations theory. Additionally, the analysis will involve the combination of these three theories to produce and integrated approach suitable for psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. The development of the paper will involve stating the individual theories and their theorists, an explanation of each theory and a combination of the three theories to improve the practice of psychology. Attachment theory Attachment involves the enduring emotions and deep bonds that an individual expresses to another person based on time and space. The attachment theory in psychology was developed by a British psychologist known as John Bowlby through his attempts to bring an understanding of the distress that children face due to separation from their parents. The theory was developed by John Bowlby in 1958 following the professional time he had in the treatment of emotionally disturbed children in the Child Guidance Clinic in London. The theory posits that the observed characteristics in children such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Purpose Of Virginia Woolf The author I have chosen is Virginia Woolf because I found her a very interesting woman. She is an English author who wrote modernist classics and in 1915 she published her first novel called The Voyage Out. She did not attend to the school, instead, she was taught at home; the first thing she started to write was a family newspaper called the Hyde Park Gate News, in which she recorded all the funny moments her family spent. With the death of her mother, she went to King s College in London where she studied in German, Greek and Latin at the Ladies Department. It was there where she became a radical feminist in terms of educational reforms. In addition to the death of her mother, her father also died, and as a result she was in a deep depression, which was the cause of her suicide in 1941. • 12. Review Of The Fall Of Constantinople Essay Jeffery Jacob World History [Teacher name here] December 21st, 2016 The Fall of Constantinople Byzantium was one of the many Greek city states that stratled along the coasts of the Aegean Sea. As an abundant source of Grains, fish, and trade, she played a pivotal role as a landing for Darius colossal army against the Greeks; a battleground between Athens and Sparta during the Pelloponessian war; and a prized tributary under Roman supervision. The Roman Emperor, Constantine I, renamed the city after himself and the newly christened Constantinople grew to eclipse Rome as the greatest Capital of Europe. Even after the continent was plunged into the so called Dark Ages ; protected by the indominable Theodosian Wall, The Queen of Cities , as the Greek speaking Byzantines called her, retained her position as the most prestine City of the early Middle Ages. And became the seat of power for the great Basilieis, Greek plural for Emperors, and the venerated Patriarchs of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Yet the middle ages made life more turbulant for the aged Byzantine Empire as it lost vast swathes of land to the surging Muslim Caliphate; struggled with internal corruption throughout its lifetime; clung desperately to its commercial power in the face of competition from merchant republics such as Genoa and Venice; and embroiled itself into several centuries of conflicts with the Turks over control of Anatolia, modern day Turkey. • 17. Social Class And The Self In this essay I will explore the concept of Habitus put out by Bourdieu which is one of his most praised and referenced studies and whether is it still a useful tool in understanding the relationship between the social class and the self. I will do this by examining the theories of social class and examining them against Bourdieu s work. The two main theorists on the idea of social class are Karl Marx and Max Weber. Marx based his theory on the idea that there are only two social classes, the bourgeoisie and proletariat. The bourgeoisie being the capitalist upper classes such as factory and business owners who exploit and dominate the mindless proletariat (lower or working class). In bourgeois society capital is independent and has individuality, while the living person is dependent and has no individuality (Marx, Capital, 2015). Marx claimed that the proletariat would rise in revolution against the bourgeoisie as they gained a class conscious. Although this did not happen due to the fact that working classes gained more skills and created unions and labor laws in order to protect themselves from exploitation. However, Weber built on Marx s theory and believed that Social Class was built on more than property and wealth, Weber argued that social class is also determined by someone s power and prestige exemplified in his book The Theory of Social and Economic Organization . Weber linked prestige to property and wealth but also made point that prestige can be gained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tomorrow Never Know uses the rhythm guitar, bass guitar, drums, sitar, tambura, and tape loops. I thought at first that the producer used synthesizers, but instead he dubbed taped loops of sound playing backward at different speeds creates the unusual sounds. Much of this song incorporates music or sounds played backward including the guitar solo. The song structure is simple verse form without the use of a traditional chorus. I am the Walrus uses drums, guitars, a piano, strings, a choir, and radio voices. The song form is AABA and lyrics are nonsensical coming from three different song ideas. It is not uncommon for these parents to pay their child s bills and continue doing their laundry among other things when they ve reached their secondary education (e.g. College, University). (Meno) This type of parent doesn t necessarily control everything the child does, but they protect them from any possible loss or failure in attempt to help them succeed. Though many have different views on the parenting method, more research must be done in order to assess its effectiveness. Though there have been countless books and studies on parenting, there have only been a handful that thoroughly looked at the effects of helicopter parenting in particular. Research has been put into the effects on skill development in children, commitment, and emotional stability throughout their life. In order to understand where these effects stemmed from, research was done to compare education level at a young age between those with helicopter parents and those without. Impact on Skill Development When in an educational environment, it s easy to split apart those who tried to achieve a higher grade point average, and those who didn t. This is not necessarily a reflection of intelligence level, but rather a difference in motivation. Students with helicopter parents tend to be less engaged in their school work when compared to those with less protective parents. (Sharon) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although some people do not believe that people can mentally delete parts of a memory, many cases prove this method of memory distortion. The perception people remember that they had within a memory is what forms the factual pieces of a memory. During the recall and retrieval process, a memory is replayed consistently, but the more times it is replayed, the more times new and inaccurate information is added to the memory. We do not choose between experiences; we choose between memories of experiences. Our memory is tampered with by the many factors that interfere with the encoding process of memory, therefore, changing the memory altogether. Experimental work on memory distortion has caught the consideration of the more extensive emotional wellness field, of the legitimate calling, and of the overall population. What Is The Theme Of Beauty In Night Of The Ninjas Morgan Le Fay is an old character who has gone through many changes in her characterization and personality since she was introduced to literature in The Life of Merlin. Morgan went from being a benevolent goddess in the medieval times to a sultry witch in the modern world. The 1868 poem Earthly Paradise portrays Morgan as a beautiful enigma whose looks are paralyzing and powerful. Since Earthly Paradise was written in Victorian times, beauty was highly focused on; it was culturally expected for women to exert tremendous amounts of energy on the way they looked. On the other hand, Night of the Ninjas focuses more on Morgan s ability to time travel to different historical periods rather than her aesthetic. Because Night of the Ninjas is from modern times, beauty and perfection are not as important as they were in the Victorian era, so Morgan s powers are highly valued and her looks are downplayed. The variations in the way different aspects of Morgan are emphasized is due to what each culture values. Earthly Paradise, by William Morris, highlights the Victorian way of thinking by emphasizing Morgan Le Fay s beauty. This intense focus on her beauty is unique to this poem, which offers a window into how people experienced beauty in the 19th century. Therefore Victor Frankenstein was the root cause of the ruin of his family, his creation and eventually his very own life. At first, even before the monster s creation, Frankenstein s physical and mental health is already in a poor state because of his infatuation with the experiment. Every night I was oppressed by a slow fever, and I became nervous to a most painful degree...sometimes I grew alarmed at the wreck I perceived that I had become (Shelly 42.) • 31. Gender And Gender Inequality Long time ago, parents tended to invest on their sons rather than their daughters. In the past, most of boys went to school, and girls stayed home. At that moment, the women were not treated equally because they did not go outside to work. The women only stayed home to take care of children and do housework, so they depended on their husband financially. Nowadays people have still treated one another differently based on group identity, especially when it comes to gender appearances. Gender inequality has been happening around the world, it still occurs at some careers, workplaces, and at home. Culture has a great impact on gender inequality in some developing countries. For instance, Vietnamese people like to have more sons rather than daughters because they believe in raising a daughter is like watering your neighbors garden, and raising a daughter as ploughing someone else s field (Jayachandran, 2014, p. 11). In Vietnam, parents usually invest more on their sons rather than daughters because the sons play a significant role in religious rituals. Jayachandran (2014) reported that sons will carry on the family name or widows wanting to retain family land also make the first son especially valuable (p.14). Alfred Prufrock , the overall mood and tone in the poem reflect the speaker s opinions of the time it was written in. An interesting way to look at this poem is to assume that the author used the character of Alfred Prufrock to explore his own attempt of trying to make sense of the rapidly changing, confusing, and gloomy world in which he lived. So, we can safely assume that trying to make sense of the outside world is a recurring motif in this poem. This can be seen by looking at both the poem as a whole, as well as the quote chosen for analysis. By choosing to use nature imagery, such as Combing the white hair of the waves blown back , the author depicts the speaker s need to retreat to nature in order to seek a peaceful spot to reflect on his choices and try to ... • 37. Religious Hypocrisy In Molière s Tartuffe The modern definition of Tartuffe literally means religious hypocrisy. This definition can trace its roots to the play Tartuffe written by Molière in the 17th century France. During this time the Catholic church had immense control over the literary content that was being published through regulating which pieces of work were being released. This power could potentially be used for personal gain and to highlight this possibility, Molière created his famous play Tartuffe. It was extremely ironic that the Catholic church immediately censored the play. Infact, this action by the church gave additional validity to Molière s argument that the church had too much control over the way people lived their lives through the established church. The crux ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tartuffe initially comes off as a well put together religious man, who has nothing but good intentions in mind. However, Tartuffe is deviously disguising his harmful intentions through religion in which he puts on a front of smoke and mirrors hiding the fact that he is, in fact, the opposite of a devout, put together christian. When Orgon first meets Tartuffe, he has great respect for him simply for the fact that Orgon believes that Tartuffe is a religious man. Knowing this, Tartuffe believes that he now has the power to do whatever he wants within Orgon s house. Molière exposes Tartuffe s hypocrisy and abuse of religious power through the way that Tartuffe communicates throughout the play. The character Tartuffe does not appear in the play until the third act, once every other character has had the opportunity to describe their opinion. Molière uses this as a way to expose tartuffe s real character through the way tartuffe communicates with the other characters. He published his periodic table in 1870, it was inside of a textbook. (Grolier Education). Without Julius Meyer, there would be no periodic table as there is today. He was the human who realized that the properties of an element a part of the periodic table all depended on the atomic weight, (Chem Heritage). He had some of the very first ideas that led to the first copies of our periodic table in the 1870 s (Chem Heritage). Julius Lothar Meyer had figured out and organized 28 of the elements back in the 1800 s into six families. He did this by figuring out the physical and chemical characteristics that were similar to each other in each element. He organized them depending on the valence of each element.
