Gilgamesh is a Failure in the Epic of Gilgamesh Essay
After reading The Epic of Gilgamesh, I have come to realize that Gilgamesh is not a hero, but a
failure. His journey does not follow the traditional circular hero s journey and he does not posses the
traits that an admirable hero should have. The first part of the hero s journey is the call to adventure.
This is the voyage that the hero is asked to go on in order to accomplish greater good for human kind.
This is the hero s chance to help his or her community, family or friends by embarking on a long
journey and challenging his, or herself. Gilgamesh does not go on a journey to help others, he goes to
make himself look better. I have not established my name stamped on bricks as my destiny decreed,
therefore I will go to the country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gilgamesh just kills Humbaba to look stronger even though Humbaba is not doing any harm to
anyone. Gilgamesh also kills the bull that belonged to Istar. When he kills the bull, he disrespecting
the Gods by destroying their property. Another reason why these trials to not make Gilgamesh a hero
is because they are not difficult for him. He is hardly struggling to complete them and being
constantly challenged is part of beings a hero. Gilgamesh s mentor is Inkidu. The hero is supposed to
respect the mentor while Gilgamesh indirectly kills his. When Inkidu and Gilgamesh kill Humbaba the
Gods kill Inkidu as a punishment. Not only did Gilgamesh hurt the Gods, but he also let his mentor die
for his mistakes. After undergoing the trails, the hero moves on to the abyss. The abyss is the darkest
point for a hero in the hero s journey. For Gilgamesh the abyss is when Inkidu dies. Gilgamesh is
completely at fault for his own abyss. He is upset when he is actually the one who caused the problem.
After the abyss, the hero is raised back up again and moves on to the return. In the return, the hero is
praised for the good that he, or she, has brought to the people. Gilgamesh is only praised because he is
a king and the people have to respect the king. They can t respect him for his journey because he
doesn t bring anything back for the people, he only brings something back for himself. The other

Arranged And Love Marriage
Marriage is a bond between a male and a female that binds together two families, and it constitutes the
base of the society. Every culture has its own definition of marriage, however all cultures agree that
understanding, care, honesty, trust, love, patience and respect are the factors of having a successful,
joyful and happy marriage. Arranged and love marriages stand apart from the basis, never the less I
believe that love marriage is better because the couple get a chance to know each other before the
marriage, and know what they both like and dislike. Love marriage makes different cultures and races
mix together. Another thing that worth mentioning is that love marriage is always built on
understanding between both partners. Lastly, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

family that will always get the chance to enjoy this love. The emergence of the concept of love
marriage decreased the boundaries between the cultures and allowed people to enjoy experiencing
being with the people they love no matter what their origin is. Arranged marriage formed a lot of
successful families in the past and even during the present, but it also had so many difficulties for the
couples, especially in the first period of their marriage, which is the period that they spend in knowing

Genetic Transformation Lab
Genetic transformation occurs when an organism is modified by the introduction of new genetic
information which is then incorporated into the organism s genome. In this lab, engineered proteins
containing DNA to absorb blue light and emit green light were incorporated into E.coli bacteria. The
main purpose of this lab was to transform E. coli by forcing it to uptake plasmid containing an
ampicillin resistance gene and a green fluorescent protein (GFP) using complementation (adding
antibiotic resistance in addition to weed out non transformed cells). To see the effects of this plasmid
on cells, bacteria treated with the plasmid were grown 3 different growth mediums: agar,
agar/ampicillin(+), agar/ ampicillin(+)/PTG(+). With the plates prepared, ... Show more content on

The transformation efficiency is the efficiency by which cells can take up extracellular DNA and
express genes encoded by it. The results from this lab show that this efficiency was 0. There was no
ramification of findings for this lab because the expected results were not obtained. If there were
successful outcomes, more research on gene insertion in bacteria for insulin production and cancer
research could have been further built upon. Since the transformation efficiency calculation was 0,
there were many errors that have arisen. The main problem was there was no control growth, which
means there was a bacterial problem with the culture. Another error could have been problems with
the broth and CaCl2 solutions. With regards to the GFP protein and its ability to be tracked using UV
light, is there another protein out there that scientists and doctors can track without using a UV light,

Remote Sensing Of Aerosols, Clouds And Precipitation
Book Title
Remote Sensing of Aerosols, Clouds, and Precipitation

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND READERSHIP
The atmospheric parameters, including, aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, play very important role in
our Earth s climate system. The climate feedbacks influencing the global climate variability are
directly or indirectly affected by aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, and thus, modulate the Earth s
radiation and surface energy balance. Therefore, global observations of aerosols, clouds, and
precipitation are crucial not only to better understand the processes involved in the climate system but
also to predict the future climate change.
Satellite remote sensing as a tool can be very valuable to acquire such global observations of aerosols,
clouds, and precipitation for monitoring Earth s climate system. In particular, some of the regions in
the Earth are not easily accessible to obtain in situ data while on those regions; space borne
instruments can act as complimentary data sources. Besides, large scale data mapping and monitoring
are only feasible with space based observations.
A good progress has been made in the recent years in dealing with remote sensing of the aerosols,
clouds, and precipitation using satellite measurements for global observations. Notably, the remote

Hamlet Madness Analysis
One of the most controversial arguments about William Shakespeare s Hamlet is whether Hamlet,
indeed, went insane or if his madness was no more than an act. Proof for the latter is given in several
instances throughout the play; Hamlet undeniably kept his sanity intact. Loved ones of Hamlet
insinuate that he is not mad. Hamlet himself justifies that his mental state is sound. Shakespeare also
shows what he believes is the true definition of madness in the character Ophelia, not Hamlet. Even
though Hamlet s disposition seems as that of a madman, statements of others around him, declarations
from Hamlet himself, and contrasts between Ophelia and Hamlet prove otherwise.
Amid his feigning of madness, several individuals suspect that Hamlet truly is sane; encounters with
Claudius, Gertrude, and Polonius show that Hamlet s rather false insanity is possibly discovered.
Claudius, of course, pays very close attention to every move Hamlet makes. After all, Claudius did kill
his father and marry his mother shortly thereafter. When Hamlet begins his mad behavior the king
states, ...what he spake, though it lack d form a little, / Was not like madness. There s something in his
soul... (56). King Claudius believes that even though Hamlet is acting differently, he is not mad. He
specifically states that what Hamlet says is not like madness at all, yet he feels as though there is
something else within Hamlet s soul that is bothering him. Upon Claudius and Polonius informing
Gertrude of what they believe is the source of Hamlet s behavior, Gertrude reminds them ...that it is no
other but the main: his father s death and our [Gertrude and Claudius] o erhasty marriage (35). Thus,
both Hamlet s uncle father and aunt mother declare their son sane and decide that something else is
making him act oddly apart from madness (44). Even though Polonius says that Hamlet is mad, he
comments ...yet there is method in t to suggest that even though Hamlet may be crazy, perhaps there is
a reason behind it (39). Polonius also suggests that Hamlet has a way with words and reflects on how
pregnant sometimes his replies are... (39). He suggests heavily that perhaps Hamlet is only putting on
madness to carry out a plan or a

Why Poor Children Are More Likely To Become Poor Readers
Why poor children are more likely to become poor readers: the early years by Jennifer Buckingham*,
Robyn Beaman and Kevin Wheldall. In this literature, they discuss low socio economic disadvantage
and poor early literacy. Children from disadvantaged families are less likely to have experiences that
encourage the development of fundamental skills for reading acquisition, specifically phonological
awareness, vocabulary and oral language. The relationship between socio economic disadvantage and
poor reading ability is one of the most enduring problems in education. Socio economic disadvantage
is a relative concept referring to low socio economic status, which is usually defined by income,
occupation, education, or any combination of these. (Beaman, Buckingham, and Wheldall 428). This
analytical proves and evaluates elements in this journal such as its claim, empirical data and its
mention of opposing sides to state its effectiveness in relaying the message. ... Show more content on

When I think of poor children, I think of kids living in poverty having very limited amount of food,
clothes, education. The early year describes children before pre school. The writers claim that children
from disadvantage or poor families are more likely to become poor readers, prior to them entering
school. Low quality early home literacy environments suppress children s genetic potential, increasing
the risk a child will struggle to learn to read. In addition, children from low socio economic status
backgrounds are more likely to have infant health outcomes associated with cognitive impairments,
such as preterm birth and low birth weight, and are less likely to attend preschool

Analysis Of Alfred Hitchcock s I Confess
I believe that in I Confess, the first four minutes is not only the most important, but it also relates back
to the rest of the film perfectly. In the beginning of I Confess the audience is shown several shots of
the beautiful povince of Quebec to emphasize the location and then we see a murder and a confession
occur in the same night. In this essay, I m going to be analyzing the mise en scene, cinematography,
and sound of the cinematic masterpiece I Confess by Alfred Hitchcock. Father Michael Logan is an
extremely holy character in I Confess as he discovers one night during an out of the ordinary
confession that one of his parishioners (Otto Keller) has murdered a wealthy member of the
community (Vilette). Keller is a desperate German ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are greeted with musical stabs each time they appear and add suspense as the audience wonders
that the signs are pointing at. The fourth time the direction sign shows up, the camera pans to the right
and looks into a window. The open window reveals Vilette s dead body and the music escalates very
quickly. The suspense in the first 45 seconds of this film is expertly crafted and although the murderer
is revealed directly after, it leaves the audience curious. Beside the corpse is the murder weapon (a
blunt instrument) and you can clearly see Vilette s head bleeding at the top, revealing how he was
murdered. From the image of Vilette s body, the camera pans to the doorway where the beaded curtain
is left swinging showing the audience that someone has just left the crime scene. Next, the audience
sees a man in a priest s clothes hurrying down the sidewalk late at night. The lighting is very
important in this shot as it sets a very serious, ominous tone. The character also looks over his
shoulder hastily as if he s worried someone might see him. The camera goes to a wide shot to show
that two young girls are right behind Keller as he briskly walks away from his crime. Then the shot
fades into Keller walking towards the camera down an alleyway. The lighting is still extremely
gloomy and shadowy as he takes off into a dark corner. The next shot has a revealing as Keller takes
off his priest clothing and he looks around suspiciously.

Medical Imaging Research Papers
Medical imaging is very important in our present day society but how does it work? Medical imaging
works with this thing called waves .Radiation in medical imaging can be very helpful to people in
detecting diseases and broken bones and more faster and without a lot of this stuff many people
wouldn t be here or would be walking around with a broken bone. The advancements of medical
imaging has advanced a whole lot over the years so now we know a whole lot about the body. Medical
imaging such as the x ray work by shooting a x ray beam at your body and on the other side of you
they are detectors and it detects those waves which result in an image which ever part is not detected

X rays do give out a lot of radiation so when you use a xray you have to use the apron they give you to
cover some parts of your body from the radiation because some parts consume a lot more for example
a chest x ray with no apron gives you the radiation that staying outside in the sun 10 days gives you
which is alot.Anytime you are asked to get an x ray your body is going to be exposed to ionizing
radiation. The rays of an x ray are considered safe for adults but not for a developing fetus because the
amount of radiation being taken in and if you are pregnant or believed to be pregnant tell your doctor
he may request for you to do a different screening that does not require radiation such as a MRI. there
are good things to a x ray and they are bad ones. A good reason to get an x ray is because it can help
you get better so the doctor knows how to treat you but there is a slight chance to get cancer every
time you get one because the exposure to radiation but its extremely small. The chances of you getting
cancer from x rays are 0.01 percent. The rays in x rays i say are way more safer than what they were
then because all the research is done and the risk of getting cancer

Health Information Technology Research Paper
Privacy Relating to Health Information Technology From an American s perspective, privacy is seen
as a natural part of life, yet the particulars of protecting that privacy is much more complex. While
there are ways to keep information secure, such as incognito mode for web search browsers and
options for private accounts in social media, privacy is still able to be violated by hackers and
information slips through companies. The theme of technology in Extra Sensory Perception by
Gershon Dublon and Joseph A. Paradiso and in The Historian as a Participant by Arthur Schlesinger,
Jr. reveals that as technology advances, methods of the past are being replaced for newer, more
efficient ones, and that issues concerning privacy have emerged (Dublon ... Show more content on

The Purpose Of The Supernatural In Literary Works
The purpose of the supernatural in Literary Works The purpose of the supernatural in literature can
vary in function from story to story. The supernatural can be used to create a certain mood in writing
or to enhance the dramatic effect of a story. The supernatural can also be used as the reasoning behind
a story and act as the theme it centers on, creating a paranormal effect and a mystical experience for
the reader.
In human nature there exists a morbid desire to explore the darker side of life. As human beings we
make every effort to deny our curiosity in the things that frighten us, but deep down we secretly thrive
on that cool rush of fear. Despite our efforts to maintain a balance of our emotions, we are a society of
people who slow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This story again reinforces the severity of defying the supernatural, and the strong belief the puritans
held in the actuality of a figurative God and Devil. This story repercussions the idea that there is
nowhere to hide from these supernatural powers.
Poe uses the supernatural to create a fear and set a mood in his stories. They are dark and always seem
to have a surprise lurking around each turn. He reinforces the fear of an overpowering doom that
cannot be escaped. In the story, The Telltale Heart, the imagery of a heart beating beneath the
floorboards is riveting. You feel that the heart is really beating; it s not just the imagination of a
madman. The narration is done totally in the first person and never gives the sex of the person. The
narrator is described as the caretaker of an old man. This technique allows the reader to identify with
the narrator/murderer and assume the caretaker is the same sex as the reader. When women read the
Telltale Heart most feel the narrator is a woman, as most caretakers are women. When a man reads
this story he believes that the narrator is a man, for most murderers are men. Poe puts good against
evil through sharp contradictions in the story. The old man s deformed eye represents evil, yet the
narrator describes him as never wronging her or insulting her. The narrator insists she is not crazy, but
then commits

Nannocrystalline Zno Film Analysis
The formation of nanocrystalline ZnO films was confirmed by using X ray diffraction. XRD patterns
of simple glass substrate and ZnO coated glass substrates were shown in figure 3(a) and (b d),
respectively. The amorphous behavior of glass substrate with a continuous curve ~20˚ to 35˚ in 2θ
range was depicted in figure 3(a) and was clearly evidenced in ZnO coated substrates. A
comparatively low intensity and broadness in diffraction peaks was observed in single layer deposited
ZnO thin film figure 3(b) , which revealed that film consist of coarse fine grains with

However in Rietveld refinement the peaks profile is fitted using Pseudo Voight functions, which is
linear combination of Gaussian and Lorentzian functions. The internal strain (ε) may arise from the
chemical reaction involved in the growth process of ZnO films and having negligible effect on peak
broadening. The microstructural (crystallite size and lattice strain) and structural (lattice cell constants,
atomic positions and occupancies) parameters refinement was performed using the space group
P63mc. The values of the crystallite size, strain, and lattice parameter obtained from the Rietveld
refinement and Scherrer methods are shown in Table 1. In table 1 the microstructural analysis shows
the lattice parameters are well matched lattice constants for the standard values of the hexagonal
wurtzite structure of ZnO. Furthermore, the variation of single to five layer coated ZnO film lattice
parameters a and c is remarkable, when compared with the standard ZnO, due to the complexity of the
hexagonal wurtzite crystal structure of ZnO and anisotropic variation in the crystal lattice. As seen in
Table 1, the ratio of the lattice parameters a/c is slightly affected by deposition cycles. However, the
unit cell volume of as prepared ZnO film is decreased from 47.598 to 47.501 Å3 with increasing the
deposition cycle from single to five cycles. The similar performance was observed for the Zn O bond
length (l) which decreases from 2.09 to 2.03A with increasing

Similarities Between Migo And Plato
In Plato s text The Republic his ideal nation is one without poetry. Plato makes the assertion that
poetry imitations reality and it takes us further, instead of closer, to the forms (i.e. truth), thus leading
to falsehood (142). Platonism in relation to Milton s L Allegro and IL Penseroso are what makes these
two poems in opposition of one another. The poem L Allegro affirms Plato belief about poetry because
it offers readers an illusionary and sensationalize approach to reality. Whereas, IL Penseroso refutes
this notion by bestowing on the readers a rational view, which in turn leads to the truth.
Milton opens L Allegro Hence loathed Melancholy / Of Ceberus and Blackest Midnight born / In
stygian cave forlorn (1 3), the speaker opening lines is a calling against Melancholy and praying for its
dismissal, thus he invites the Mirth and together they live in unreproved pleasures free (40). Mirth
invites the speaker into an imaginative world away from the reality that is Melancholy. After the
speaker goes with Mirth he begins to go off in a tangent about countryside life stating: And Milkmaid
singeth blithe
And mower wheats his scythe
And every shepherd tells his tale
Under the hawthorn in the dale
Straight mine eyes hath caught new pleasures
Whilst the landscape round its measures
Russet lawns, fallows grey,
Were the nibbling flocks do stray
Mountains on whose barren breast
The laboring clouds do often rest (65 75)

The Education System And The Lack Of Education
While reading the research paper, one thing which is clear about the author is that he is someone who
understands the need of education for every individual. He understands the importance of education
and how it can change someone s life completely. Throughout the paper, author tries to force the
reader to understand the education system and the lacking in it. The author has used many references
and is telling people to work hard as it is the key to success, in order to make our country flourish and
better than other we have to educate our own people and this is the thinking of the author. My goal in
this paper is to bring out the facts and present the reality of the writing of the author. In this research
paper, Henderson has come up with a problem which is faces almost by every student in his life, the
problem when he wants to study but he is stuck between job and studies, even if he manages the time
he gets so tired that he is not able to complete his assignments. But suppose that he is also done with
the assignments and he is working really hard day and night and is making sure that he gives time to
his job as well as his studies, he does all this because it s all in his hands that whether he studies hard
or not, he does job or not but at some point he is unable to do anything because it is not in his hands
and that is the bills he has to pay for his own studies.
The author is capable of bringing facts in the light and aware the readers about those facts. He is

How The Ming Dynasty, Incan Society, And Tenochtitlan Society
Throughout unit two we looked at many different societies, not in Europe. While there were many
influential civilizations in Europe during this time, there was also many civilizations making major
advancements as well. There were three things that really caught my eye and these were the Ming
Dynasty, Incan Society, and Tenochtitlan, the Aztec capital. While all of these may seem different,
they have influenced how we live our life today somehow.
I. The Ming Dynasty
The Ming Dynasty ruled China from 1368 to 1644 (Morris). The Ming Dynasty was established by
King Zhu Yuanshang, who named the dynasty not after Nohis family but the word ming which can
mean bright or luminous ( The Chinese Ming ). It had a population around eighty five million making
it the largest civilization on Earth. As Professor Clunas points out in the exhibition s exemplary
catalog, everything about it was on a grand scale: It had a greater land area, bigger cities (and more
big cities), bigger armies, bigger ships, bigger palaces, bigger bells, more literate people, more
religious professionals. (Morris). Not only was the Ming Dynasty bigger, it brought many major
advances in art, technology, and philosophy during its time. Probably one of the most popular art
forms, is the amazing work they could do with blue and white porcelain. They were very skilled in
this new art form, and were the only civilization that could make these beautiful pieces. Still to this
day, it is hard for anyone

Justification And Justification Of The Penal System
Punishment in general can obviously be justified (in the traditional sense of the term) on utilitarian
grounds. Nevertheless, usually its justification is not asked for. Because justification of punishment, in
general is unnecessary. It is the justification of particular infliction of pain (or punishment) that can be
enquired of. As a man can legitimately ask for justification of a particular law of a state. However,
nobody enquires of the justification of legal system or of law in general. It is meaningful to ask, Can
this rule be justified? Or Are not those laws justifiable? But it is not worthwhile rather it is absurd to
ask, Can law (in general) be justified? Similarly, punishment in general or penal system requires no ...

Retribution assigns a punishment that is appropriate to the crime, which is ideal in punishing criminals
whereas general deterrence works to persuade society to obey the law, and specific deterrence work.
From the variety of utilitarian justifications of punishment, retribution is the most convincing as its
theoretical goals are sustained through societies, whereas general and specific deterrence cannot be
justified on their own, as they do not match with retribution.
For retributionists, punishment is backward looking, justified by the crime that has been committed
and carried out to atone for the damage already done. Retributivism covers all theories that justify
punishment because the offender deserves it. This is interpreted in two ways, either a person must be
punished because they deserve it (deserving is a sufficient reason for punishment), or a person must
not be punished unless they deserve it (deserving is a necessary but not sufficient condition for
punishment). There are two distinct types of retributive justice. The classical definition embraces the
idea that the amount of punishment must be proportionate to the amount of harm caused by the
offence. Many strands of retrivbutism including Lex Talionis which seeks to restore the balance
between offender and victim. The third is in accordance with the grievance principle; that

because the health care buys medical equipment through GPOs. As a small firm it was tough to obtain
a contract from GPOs since their financial arrangement encouraged them to buy equipment from big
companies. Consequently, Genicon decided to go global and catch growing demand there. It became
the smallest firm to sell products to European clients with the assistance of BSI. Genicon is already in

Therefore, China is the best option amongst the four in terms of providing a stable business

Ten Reasons to Outsource Digital Marketing to a Third Party
10 reasons to outsource your digital marketing to a third party
The decision to outsource a marketing function such as digital marketing can be both strategic and
tactical. In general, many companies, as a principle, outsource any activity that is not core to their
business. At the tactical level, companies often find themselves short of digital marketing resources to
respond to a rapid pace at which it operates across different platforms.
What s right for your company? Following are general guidelines to help you determine whether to
deploy a third party to manage a complete digital marketing function or specific project, or to keep it
in house.
FACTOR #1: YOU LACK A SPECIFIC EXPERTISE OR HUMAN RESOURCES
Effective digital marketing departments require a wide range of expertise. A typical group may include
media strategists, media analysts, auditors, creatives, brand managers, advertising specialists,
copywriters and graphic designers.
Let s face it: in general, most companies do not have enough people allocated to digital marketing
department. So specialised outside help is often required.
FACTOR #2: YOU LACK A SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGY
Companies are notoriously technology deprived on the digital marketing side of things. While this

Essay about Chemistry
Chemistry Aim: I am trying to find out whether the equation 2CuCO3 ® Cu2O + 2CO2 + ½O2 or the
equation CuCO3 ® CuO + CO2 is correct for the decomposition of copper carbonate.
Introduction: This is my background research, this information may help me when I am trying to see
which equation is correct. I have used the book Chemistry 1 by OCR as my reference.
Relative Atomic Mass: This is the mass of an atom of the element relative to the mass of an atom of
carbon 12 which has a mass of exactly 12.
Relative Molecular Mass: This is the mass of a molecule of a compound relative to an atom of carbon
12.
Mole: This is the unit of an atom of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Equation 1 produces the most gas.
Number of moles = Volume of Gas (cm3) = 80cm3
Molar Volume (cm3) 24000cm3
= 0.0033 moles of gas
1.25 moles of gas is produced from 1 mole of copper carbonate (CuCO3)
» 0.0033 moles of gas is produced from (0.0033)
1.25
= 0.00264 moles of Copper Carbonate
m = n x M  M[CuCO3] = [63.5 + 12 + (3 x 16)] = 123.5g mol 1
 0.00264 x 123.5g mol 1
= 0.33g of CuCO3
I can now work out how much gas 0.33g of CuCO3 will give in equation 2:
n = m = 0.33g = 0.00267 moles of Copper Carbonate
M 123.5g mol 1
1 mole of CuCO3 gives 1 mole of gas
0.00267 moles of CuCO3 gives 0.00267 moles of gas.
Volume of gas (cm3) = number of moles x molar volume (cm3)
= 0.00267 x 24000 cm3
= 64cm3
I can now carry out the experiment and compare the actual value with the two predicted values I have
just calculated. Which ever value is closest to the actual value is the correct value and so its equation
will be the correct equation.

I will now carry out a risk assessment of the

Shinto And Daoism Similarities
East Asian culture brought to us three distinct and enlightening religions, Daoism, Confucianism, and
Shinto. These religions are all very different and unique they have very unique ties that bind. Daoism
and Confucianism were both brought into fruition during the Shang dynasty around 1600 to 1046 BCE
in China (1) while Shinto is an ancient religion to which we do not have a defined date of conception.
The most forward similarities Daoism, Confucianism, and Shinto share are State Cult, and ancestor
worship (although Shinto practices ancestor veneration (2)). Now let s take a more in depth look at
these unique and wonderful East Asian religions!
First Daoism! Daoism is a Chinese based religion that was formed during the Shang dynasty
somewhere in the years of 1600 1046 BCE. Daoism is the way of nature and morality (3). Daoism has
an outward appearance of harmony with nature, peace and being carefree but this simple life religion
is deeply rooted in a tradition of great mental and physical disciple. (3) Daoism is mystically religious
and it has been said that we cannot describe the Dao, we can live in harmony with it...Humans model
themselves on earth, Earth on heaven, Heaven on the way, And the way on that which is naturally so.
(4) One of the unique features of Daoism is the paradox of wu wei or actionless action, spontaneous,
creative activity proceeding from Dao, action without ego assertion, letting the Dao take its course, (5)
wu wei effectively encompasses a life

Kid Kustomer Essay
Kid Kustomers
No matter where children are or what they are doing they ll always find some sort of advertisements.
It can be when their casually watching television, reading a magazine or just playing games on their
computer. Advertisements are different forms of communication whose purpose is to make their
product known to the public. Marketers aren t partial to certain people; they target anyone and every
age group, but recently there has been an upsurge of advertisements aimed towards children. In Eric
Schlosser s article, Kid Kustomers, he demonstrates how child advertising has boomed by the tactics
marketers use to get children to want and demand certain companies products. The big boom in child
advertisement occurred in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Schlosser refers to the Joe Camel ad campaign, which used a hip cartoon character to sell cigarettes. A
1991 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that nearly all of
America s six year olds could identify Joe Camel, who was just as familiar to them as Mickey Mouse.
Interestingly enough, another study found that one third of cigarettes illegally sold to minors was in
fact Camels. Not only do advertisers need a way to get kids to want their product, they also need
children to be able to persuade their parents into buying them that product. The concept of children
persuading other people to buy them what they want is known as the surrogate salesmen. James U.
McNeal s, professor of marketing at Texas A M University, classified kids nagging tactics into seven
major categories; pleading, persistent, forceful, demonstrative, sugar coated, threatening, and pity
based appeals. Kids learn what appeal or style works best on their parents and stick to that ploy
whenever they want something. Observing children in their own environment allows marketers to
understand the minds of children. Advertisers conduct surveys, organize focus groups, analyze
children s artwork, study academic literature on child development and even have cultural
anthropologists observe children without them knowing. Marketers do all that research so they can get
a grasp on what children are most

The Characteristics Of Batm The Hero Of The Batman
Heroes exist all around us, fictional or not. They inspire us and often set us on a path of goodness and
justice. USUALLY. Most heroes, realistically aren t as good as we create them to be. Batman for
instance, is one of those heroes. Batman or Bruce Wayne, is Gotham s protector; a fabricated city in
Frank Miller s The Dark Knight Returns. A graphic novel where the batman has long retired after the
death of his heroic sidekick robin, and his sudden return to battle the crime ridden metropolis.
Furthermore, while the batman s actions seem noble and heroic; his means of attaining this dream of a
just and uncorrupt Gotham was always twisted. Bruce is an excellent example of mealy mouthedness,
speaking one way but having contradicting actions; devious and insincere. But is it entirely? He fights
against evil, fights against infamy with his own sense of integrity. Does that make him the villain
himself? It s the controversy surrounding this HERO, is he selfless and trying achieve goodness? Or
selfish enough to put any matter of lives at risk to end one evil? I m willing to bet the latter.
Following Book 1, Batman reenters the crime fighting scene; swinging across gotham taking care of
the petty crimes he runs across in the dark. Dealing with armed gunmen in a arcade, the feared
MUTANTS. A gang against Gotham and it s citizens, bunched up as a bunch of kids who don t know
any better. A terribly wrong assumption. Here in this scene he saves a woman named Carrie Kelly, and

The Effects Of The Birth Of Twins
In 2011, every 1 in 82 births was the birth of twins. In the past two decades, the incidence of twin
births raised from 2.2% in 1992 to 3.8% in 2008 (Multiple Births Canada 1). This means that the birth
of twins is on the rise. Twins pregnancies are considered high risk and can cause many complications
for mother and babies. After the twins are born there are many challenges parents face to provide for
each baby with an adequate amount of attention to create a bond, especially during the first year. This
paper outlines some of the short term stressors associated with having twins such as effects on the
mother, father, other children in the family and how they can cope with the stress. This paper argues
twins cause more stress for families, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1). Many studies have documented elevated parental stress and psychological distress following the
birth of a preterm baby or low birth weight baby, which is common when it comes to the birth of
twins. Parental stress is often self reported and described as chronic, acute or situational. Many
mothers worry about financials, the individuality of the twins and their impact on the other family
members (Harvey, Regender, and Denny 30). Social support is the most important coping resource for
parents of premature infants because it has been shown to lessen the impacts of stress (Lutz et al. 644).
Social support can be defined as having one s needs met through the presence and interaction with
others, such as spouses, family members or friends (Lutz et al. 644). Support from family members is
more prominent in the lives of twins than in single babies because not all mothers are willing or able
to care for twins on their own. Occasionally social support from family does not always give mothers
proper bonding time with each twin. This is because one twin is always handed off to another person
while the other stays with the mother. This again may have a negative impact on the bonding of child
and mother during the first year (Piontelli 79). With the right social support mothers and families can
easily make it through the first year of the twins lives and relieve the short term

Potato Core Osmosis Lab Report
In the Potato Core Osmosis Lab, the main purpose of the experiment was to test the different amounts
of corn syrup on potatoes. A variety of potatoes were distributed and placed into unknown amounts of
corn syrup which range from no corn syrup to 100% corn syrup. Then the following day, the results
were recorded on the size of the potato. Results stated that as the amount of syrup increased, the
smaller the potato got. The hypothesis stated that if the potatoes were placed in a high percent of
syrup, then it would shrink, which corresponds to the results causing the hypothesis to be supported.
Soon results were shared and connections were made. Even though all the results weren t identical, the
numbers still shared similarities as it was only a few decimals off. Most of the initial and final masses
were the same; however, the change in mass varied. These results may relate to a miscalculation or
mistake in using the formula. Although, when the numbers were graphed, all the points increased and

Gd Vs High School Diploma Essay
High school diploma vs. G.E.D
The common educational path for an american student is to pass elementary school, jr. high, and high
school. Putting the student around the age of eighteen upon graduation and receiving their high school
diploma. However, due to life challenges or family obligations not all students complete this path.
That student has the opportunity to take the G.E.D, also know as the general educational development,
allowing them to receive a certificate stating they are at a high school education level. The G.E.D and
the high school diploma have similar worth and criteria, but their time required to complete, age
requirement to take the test, and the use after high school sets them distinctly apart.
The G.E.D was originally created to help veterans coming home from World War two, to return back
to civilian life. The G.E.D is a test that measures proficiency in the four main subjects: science,
mathematics, social studies, reading and writing. A person is eligible to take the G.E.D test if they
meet three criteria. First, a person cannot have graduated from an accredited high school or received a

Students Facing Obstacle During College Life
During the college life students have to deal with different types of obstacles. In the article, College
Pressures William Zinsser focuses on the pressure faced by the college students. He talks about how
the students are dealing with economic pressure, parental pressure, peer pressure, and self induced
pressure. College students are worried about getting high paid jobs and being rich instead of relaxing
and enjoying now. Zinsser claims that students are worried about their future by using pathos.
According to Zinsser, one of the pressure students has to face in the college is economical. Pathos
have been used by the author to make the reader feel that how students are dealing with economic
problems. Student with scholarship are very safe and doesn t have to worry about an economic
problem. Zinsser states I tell them to relax. They can t. Zinsser is trying to convince students not take
the pressure, but he/she won t be able to relax because college demands too much of money. Just to
pay for the college, students have to work during the weekends or whenever there is a free time.
Zinsser supports his stamen by proclaiming Tuition, room, and board at most private colleges now
comes to at least $7,000, not counting books and fees. This might seem to suggest that the colleges are
getting rich. But they are equally battered by inflation. Tuition covers only 60% of what it costs to

Throughout the adventures of Yossarian, his officers are quite naive and embrace poor guidance over
the soldiers. Yossarian is constantly questioning the officer s decision, such as increasing the mission
requirement because these poor decisions usually lead down a consequential path such as the death of
Snowden. With these deaths resulting from unnecessary missions, it seems comprehensive why
Yossarian questions the ethics of his outranking officials. They re trying to kill me, Yossarian told him

continues to question the acts against him and planning to escape the military s hold on Yossarian s

lengths to stay alive questioning the decisions that could leave him dead. Throughout the actions of

Public Education System
Introduction Hook Background I think that there are many things that we in America can do to fix our
education system but to go over two generalized topics we must reevaluate our teachers and how we
work our system in general. These two are the most important factors besides the students , and
teachers directly affect those so I m going to start there.
Of all the important things for teachers to do is to teach and to make students get into the things that
they re learning. That usually doesn t happen as most of the good and enthusiastic teachers are in rich
schools and the teachers that are under qualified and do not care about students get put at the schools
that are underfunded. To remedy this you must make sure that equally qualified ... Show more content

By hiring Betsy DeVos and other idiots who want to devalue education as the people who run the
system will obviously make the system turn into one of the worst school systems in the world. These
people who have no interest and what would be good for the students , are only focused on the bank
check at the end of the day. They want what will make them big bucks. Going along with that , we also
put way too much money into the military , thus taking away crucial funds that should go to the
education system. Instead of letting incompetent presidents chose incompetent cabinet members we
should allow the people to vote ,as we do with any other elected position. It would allow us to choose
the right Leader for the job and not one who wants to make it harder for underprivileged children and
young adults to get the education that they deserve. Another thing we should do to make the Education
system better you to start focusing more on making the education system one that values learning over
test scores. Some school districts are already doing that as they are switching over to project based
learning from text based. It removes the proverbial shackles of the dreaded end of the year test from
students who already hate it enough as it is. It is the cause of why students hate going to school as
most of our education is derivative of the learning targets which are the different points of the

Colonialism In Africa
By the 1960, most of Africa had become independent from colonial powers who reluctantly gave them
freedom after wars that were gory and unpleasant. Africa had started to build or put together a
government that could hopefully unify the country. African had presidents, dictators, etc. But did
Africa ever really gain independence? Based on who you ask, you will get an answer that can be
separated into different groups, one group will tell you yes and others will say no. At the end of
colonialism there was never a shift in society in Africa. If you look at the current GDP of most African
countries, the growth of the economy, and then peer at the amount of debt they owe to the world bank
then one can see that things have not changed since the end of colonialism. Africa shifted from
colonialism to post colonialism, however Europe never left Africa formally. And Africa never really
pushed for them to leave due to the structure of colonialism. For instance, when Congo had gained
political independence from Belgium, there were only 16 college graduates in the whole country.
Colonialism underdeveloped Africa, many of the people in Africa never gained an education. In
addition, country lines were created in order for colonial powers to be able to exert control over a
group of people that it had just defeated. Before colonialism, Africans had city states as opposed to
nation states. The economy in Africa was primarily based on trade between people in the community.

The Movie, The Matrix, Written and Directed by the...
The movie The Matrix, written and directed by The Wachowski brothers, can be seen as the ultimate
Marxist metaphor. Its basic premise is that the world as we know it is fake; it is a computer simulated
dreamworld , mimicking our own world of the late 90s, called the Matrix. In charge of the Matrix
itself is a seemingly malevolent sentient machine species. Even worse, the sole purpose of this
simulation is to control humanity, which has been enslaved inside the simulation for several hundreds
of years. It was a matter of survival for the Machines, as the humans in the days before the Matrix
attempted to destroy the Machines by blocking their power source the sun. So, in order for their
species to continue living humanity was enslaved within the Matrix and their bioelectric energies were
harvested and used to power the Machine civilization. Clearly if Karl Marx heard this story he would
fall in love with it, assuming that he could stomach both the violence in the movie and Keanu Reeves
acting*.
Many aspects of the plot of The Matrix have clear correspondence to elements of Marx s Social
Conflict theory. According to Marxist criticisms of Capitalism, there are two major social classes, the
Bourgeoisie and the Proletariat. The Bourgeoisie, or the elite, are the wealthy people, the business
owners, and the politicians. They are the people in charge. This elite class controls the Proletariat. The
Proletariat, or non elite, is the working class. They make up the workforce

The National Spelling Of America Essay
Every year, millions of students, no older than in eighth grade, compete in local level spelling bees
with hopes of making it to the ultimate spelling competition, the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Held
at the end of May or beginning of June each year, millions of spectators around the world watch the
bee, which is held just outside Washington, DC. The Scripps National Spelling Bee, while a fantastic
educational experience, both for learning the ins and outs of the English language and for learning
about the history of America, is in dire need of reform. I propose to you, the executives of the E.W.
Scripps Company, that the Scripps National Spelling Bee reform the competition by determining the
number of spellers from each state in a way that is proportional to the state s population, standardizing
the difficulty of bees prior to the national level, and decreasing the value of points earned from the
new addition of vocabulary. While spellers competing at the national level follow various paths to earn
their coveted spots, people from certain geographic areas have a tremendously easier path than others.
This difficult discrepancy is largely based on the number of spellers that each specific state allows to
progress to the national level each year. In the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee, sixteen states,
including Hawaii, Mississippi, and Nevada, sent only one speller from the entire state, while states
such as Ohio and California sent nineteen and seventeen respectively

one November day in 2015, working around the clock to ensure a spot in the state play offs. Although
the football team gave everything they had to offer for their school, Mesquite did not give their all
back for their team. During the intense practice, two young men slipped in through the gym doors by
simply bypassing the school s poor exterior locks. With one swift yank, they were able to pop open the
locker room door, giving them access to all the players personal items and equipment. Once the
players returned to the athletic facility, they came to discover that their bags and lockers had been
picked clean. Thousands of dollars in cell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This lack of security is unacceptable. Replacing the current door handles with cup handles will lead to
higher quality security and benefit all teachers, students, and faculty. Choosing to install these new
handles would ensure better safety in emergency situations and prevent future thefts for the school.
Part Two: Current Efforts
The school s main defenses consist of the doors and locks on campus. However if these doors and
locks become damaged and cannot serve their full purpose, they contribute little safety efficiency to
the school. The current locks placed on the exterior of the school are in poor working condition. A
hard enough yank immediately pops the lock and allows access to the school. These handles and locks
clearly create an issue for the school, because of the numerous break ins where valuable equipment
and personal goods were stolen. These thefts are not an uncommon occurrence. Mesquites football
team lost personal phones and wallets, the choir department lost expensive sound equipment, orchestra
lost priceless instruments, the schools supply of sterling silver was stolen from the metals room, and
the electronics department lost tools and equipment (Jones et al).
Not only can these robberies be costly for the school to replace, but liability can be far more
concerning. If a teacher or staff member was harmed while exiting the room to lock their door in

Barrier Island Research Paper
Barrier Island is a low edge of sand that is parallel to the mainland with a distance of 2 to 19 miles off
the shoreline, 300 barrier islands border the shore of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to Padre Island, Texas.
The barrier island defends the coast from the full power of storm waves. In the central of the barrier
island and the mainland is a peaceful lagoon or a bay. Mainly most of these barrier island are 0.6 3
miles wide and amid from 9 18 miles long. The highest structures example of barrier island are sand
dunes with the height of 16 33 feet; however, in some places the dunes can reach the height of 100
feet. Few barrier islands are initiated as spits that were then detached from the inland by upsurge
corrosion, rising of sea level resulting

The Three Huge Questions Leading Into Week 10 Against...
THREE HUGE QUESTIONS LEADING INTO WEEK 10 AGAINST THE BUCCANEERS
1. Will Matt Cassel finally figure out to deliver and take home a W? OK, so he hasn t been horrific
since he took over for a struggling Brandon Weeden, who took over for an injured Tony Romo. (the
fact that, there are this many quarterbacks in the talks for the Cowboys this season is beyond
heartbreaking) Anyway, Cassel has shown some life and even made some impressive plays on the
field. However, we are still sitting in at 2 6 and dead last in already abysmal division. Other than a 30
6 loss to the New England Patriots the Cowboys have been in every game until the last quarter, most
of those games pushing into the final seconds and two of them even into overtime. Sounds accurate
right Cowboy s fans? If the Cowboys lose its always in a heart stopping, gut wrenching fashion.
Nonetheless, should all of these losses lay at the feet of our man under center? Of course not, but on
the other hand he has played mediocre football at best. Sometimes its about finding the quarterback
that just knows how to win. I am not persuaded Cassel is able to do that. He hasn t in the time he has
worn the star anyway. Even though Cassel put up his best game as a Cowboy in the 33 27 overtime
loss to the Eagles last Sunday night, it still has one play that will forever haunt him, and the fans I
imagine. Cassel threw for 299 yards, 3 touchdowns, and the main focus unfortunately for Cassel is
that one interception he threw in

Comparing Fahrenheit 451 And Nature By Ralph Waldo Emerson
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and Nature by Ralph Waldo Emerson can be related. Each story is
about traveling into nature and experiencing a whole a new life. Both articles can reflect on one
another and there is an occult relation between man and the vegetable. Montag s journey into nature
emulates the one depicted by Emerson because they are both similar. Montag is traveling and
discovers a whole new world ne never knew existed, and Emerson delineates how different people see
nature. The black land slid by and he was going into the country among the hills: For the first time in a
dozen years the stars were coming out above him, in great processions of wheeling fire (Bradbury
140). Additionally, when Emerson talks about the stars, he

The Pros And Cons Of Christopher Nolan
When auteur directors gets researched on Google, Christopher Nolan shows up in the list together
with other well known directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Quentin Tarantino, and Martin Scorsese.
Christopher Nolan is a British American film director, producer and screenwriter and seems to be
another filmmaker who takes pride in the title of auteur director. His films are a hit all around the
world and it can be argued whether or not his films are a distinct reflection of his creative vision.
Nolan was first recognized for his offbeat productions like Memento (2000) and is now responsible
for a number of blockbusters including The Dark Knight (2008) and Inception (2010). Nolan is
considered as one of the most accomplished filmmakers and an ... Show more content on

He is particularly known for writing and directing dark, mind bending drama and thriller films
considering his many productions. Nolan has quite a few blockbusters under his name and The
Telegraph actually titled him as the director who can do what he wants ; with the caption Christopher
Nolan s brainy blockbusters have earned him love not seen since Spielberg (2010). Nolan is very
popular right now among many different types of audiences. The reason for this is because Nolan does
not only provide audiences with big action pictures, but he does so on an intellectual level. A film like
Transformers (Michael Bay, 2007, USA) for example, which is solely about the action, and thus
entertainment, is not considered to be very high in its overall purpose. Nolan s films then stand out
and he is able to keep audiences engaged in his

Whitney Fryer, 19, slipped into a state of sleep deprivation late Monday night and passed away early
Tuesday morning. Official cause of death, caffeine overdose. The culprit, a vanilla latte.

Fryer, originally from Hartford, South Dakota, was raised in Sioux Falls, SD where she graduated

Close friend Zoe Robinson, shared, She will be forever around us saving us from our crazy events.
She was the rain who puts out our fires. And the little voice in our heads that says no with a
disappointed look. She may have been sassy, but deep, deep, deep down in her heart we know she
loved us.

  • 2. Gilgamesh is a Failure in the Epic of Gilgamesh Essay After reading The Epic of Gilgamesh, I have come to realize that Gilgamesh is not a hero, but a failure. His journey does not follow the traditional circular hero s journey and he does not posses the traits that an admirable hero should have. The first part of the hero s journey is the call to adventure. This is the voyage that the hero is asked to go on in order to accomplish greater good for human kind. This is the hero s chance to help his or her community, family or friends by embarking on a long journey and challenging his, or herself. Gilgamesh does not go on a journey to help others, he goes to make himself look better. I have not established my name stamped on bricks as my destiny decreed, therefore I will go to the country ... When he kills the bull, he disrespecting the Gods by destroying their property. Another reason why these trials to not make Gilgamesh a hero is because they are not difficult for him. He is hardly struggling to complete them and being constantly challenged is part of beings a hero. Gilgamesh s mentor is Inkidu. The hero is supposed to respect the mentor while Gilgamesh indirectly kills his. When Inkidu and Gilgamesh kill Humbaba the Gods kill Inkidu as a punishment. Not only did Gilgamesh hurt the Gods, but he also let his mentor die for his mistakes. After undergoing the trails, the hero moves on to the abyss. The abyss is the darkest point for a hero in the hero s journey. For Gilgamesh the abyss is when Inkidu dies. Gilgamesh is completely at fault for his own abyss. He is upset when he is actually the one who caused the problem. After the abyss, the hero is raised back up again and moves on to the return. Every culture has its own definition of marriage, however all cultures agree that understanding, care, honesty, trust, love, patience and respect are the factors of having a successful, joyful and happy marriage. Arranged and love marriages stand apart from the basis, never the less I believe that love marriage is better because the couple get a chance to know each other before the marriage, and know what they both like and dislike. Love marriage makes different cultures and races mix together. Another thing that worth mentioning is that love marriage is always built on understanding between both partners. Lastly, we ... In this lab, engineered proteins containing DNA to absorb blue light and emit green light were incorporated into E.coli bacteria. Remote Sensing Of Aerosols, Clouds And Precipitation Book Title Remote Sensing of Aerosols, Clouds, and Precipitation EDITORS Tanvir Islam, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, USA Yongxiang Hu, NASA Langley Research Center, USA Alexander Kokhanovsky, EUMETSAT, Germany Jun Wang, University of Nebraska, USA BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND READERSHIP The atmospheric parameters, including, aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, play very important role in our Earth s climate system. The climate feedbacks influencing the global climate variability are directly or indirectly affected by aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, and thus, modulate the Earth s radiation and surface energy balance. Therefore, global observations of aerosols, clouds, and precipitation are crucial not only to better understand the processes involved in the climate system but also to predict the future climate change. Satellite remote sensing as a tool can be very valuable to acquire such global observations of aerosols, clouds, and precipitation for monitoring Earth s climate system. In particular, some of the regions in the Earth are not easily accessible to obtain in situ data while on those regions; space borne instruments can act as complimentary data sources. Besides, large scale data mapping and monitoring are only feasible with space based observations. A good progress has been made in the recent years in dealing with remote sensing of the aerosols, clouds, and precipitation using satellite measurements for global observations. • 6. Hamlet Madness Analysis One of the most controversial arguments about William Shakespeare s Hamlet is whether Hamlet, indeed, went insane or if his madness was no more than an act. Proof for the latter is given in several instances throughout the play; Hamlet undeniably kept his sanity intact. Loved ones of Hamlet insinuate that he is not mad. Hamlet himself justifies that his mental state is sound. Shakespeare also shows what he believes is the true definition of madness in the character Ophelia, not Hamlet. Even though Hamlet s disposition seems as that of a madman, statements of others around him, declarations from Hamlet himself, and contrasts between Ophelia and Hamlet prove otherwise. Amid his feigning of madness, several individuals suspect that Hamlet truly is sane; encounters with Claudius, Gertrude, and Polonius show that Hamlet s rather false insanity is possibly discovered. Claudius, of course, pays very close attention to every move Hamlet makes. After all, Claudius did kill his father and marry his mother shortly thereafter. When Hamlet begins his mad behavior the king states, ...what he spake, though it lack d form a little, / Was not like madness. There s something in his soul... (56). King Claudius believes that even though Hamlet is acting differently, he is not mad. He specifically states that what Hamlet says is not like madness at all, yet he feels as though there is something else within Hamlet s soul that is bothering him. Upon Claudius and Polonius informing Gertrude of what they believe is the source of Hamlet s behavior, Gertrude reminds them ...that it is no other but the main: his father s death and our [Gertrude and Claudius] o erhasty marriage (35). Thus, both Hamlet s uncle father and aunt mother declare their son sane and decide that something else is making him act oddly apart from madness (44). In this literature, they discuss low socio economic disadvantage and poor early literacy. For retributionists, punishment is backward looking, justified by the crime that has been committed and carried out to atone for the damage already done. Retributivism covers all theories that justify punishment because the offender deserves it. This is interpreted in two ways, either a person must be punished because they deserve it (deserving is a sufficient reason for punishment), or a person must not be punished unless they deserve it (deserving is a necessary but not sufficient condition for punishment). At the tactical level, companies often find themselves short of digital marketing resources to respond to a rapid pace at which it operates across different platforms. What s right for your company? Following are general guidelines to help you determine whether to deploy a third party to manage a complete digital marketing function or specific project, or to keep it in house. Advertisements are different forms of communication whose purpose is to make their product known to the public. Marketers aren t partial to certain people; they target anyone and every age group, but recently there has been an upsurge of advertisements aimed towards children. A 1991 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that nearly all of America s six year olds could identify Joe Camel, who was just as familiar to them as Mickey Mouse. Interestingly enough, another study found that one third of cigarettes illegally sold to minors was in fact Camels. Not only do advertisers need a way to get kids to want their product, they also need children to be able to persuade their parents into buying them that product. The concept of children persuading other people to buy them what they want is known as the surrogate salesmen. James U. Kids learn what appeal or style works best on their parents and stick to that ploy whenever they want something. Observing children in their own environment allows marketers to understand the minds of children. Most heroes, realistically aren t as good as we create them to be. Batman for instance, is one of those heroes. Batman or Bruce Wayne, is Gotham s protector; a fabricated city in Frank Miller s The Dark Knight Returns. A graphic novel where the batman has long retired after the death of his heroic sidekick robin, and his sudden return to battle the crime ridden metropolis. Furthermore, while the batman s actions seem noble and heroic; his means of attaining this dream of a just and uncorrupt Gotham was always twisted. Bruce is an excellent example of mealy mouthedness, speaking one way but having contradicting actions; devious and insincere. But is it entirely? He fights against evil, fights against infamy with his own sense of integrity. Does that make him the villain himself? It s the controversy surrounding this HERO, is he selfless and trying achieve goodness? Or selfish enough to put any matter of lives at risk to end one evil? I m willing to bet the latter. Following Book 1, Batman reenters the crime fighting scene; swinging across gotham taking care of the petty crimes he runs across in the dark. In the past two decades, the incidence of twin births raised from 2.2% in 1992 to 3.8% in 2008 (Multiple Births Canada 1). This means that the birth of twins is on the rise. Twins pregnancies are considered high risk and can cause many complications for mother and babies. After the twins are born there are many challenges parents face to provide for each baby with an adequate amount of attention to create a bond, especially during the first year. Many studies have documented elevated parental stress and psychological distress following the birth of a preterm baby or low birth weight baby, which is common when it comes to the birth of twins. Parental stress is often self reported and described as chronic, acute or situational. Many mothers worry about financials, the individuality of the twins and their impact on the other family members (Harvey, Regender, and Denny 30). Social support is the most important coping resource for parents of premature infants because it has been shown to lessen the impacts of stress (Lutz et al. 644). Social support can be defined as having one s needs met through the presence and interaction with others, such as spouses, family members or friends (Lutz et al. 644). Support from family members is more prominent in the lives of twins than in single babies because not all mothers are willing or able to care for twins on their own. Occasionally social support from family does not always give mothers proper bonding time with each twin. This is because one twin is always handed off to another person while the other stays with the mother. This again may have a negative impact on the bonding of child and mother during the first year (Piontelli 79). With the right social support mothers and families can easily make it through the first year of the twins lives and relieve the short term ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Of all the important things for teachers to do is to teach and to make students get into the things that they re learning. Africa had started to build or put together a government that could hopefully unify the country. African had presidents, dictators, etc. But did Africa ever really gain independence? Based on who you ask, you will get an answer that can be separated into different groups, one group will tell you yes and others will say no. At the end of colonialism there was never a shift in society in Africa. If you look at the current GDP of most African countries, the growth of the economy, and then peer at the amount of debt they owe to the world bank then one can see that things have not changed since the end of colonialism. Africa shifted from colonialism to post colonialism, however Europe never left Africa formally. And Africa never really pushed for them to leave due to the structure of colonialism. For instance, when Congo had gained political independence from Belgium, there were only 16 college graduates in the whole country. Its basic premise is that the world as we know it is fake; it is a computer simulated dreamworld , mimicking our own world of the late 90s, called the Matrix. In charge of the Matrix itself is a seemingly malevolent sentient machine species. Even worse, the sole purpose of this simulation is to control humanity, which has been enslaved inside the simulation for several hundreds of years. It was a matter of survival for the Machines, as the humans in the days before the Matrix attempted to destroy the Machines by blocking their power source the sun. So, in order for their species to continue living humanity was enslaved within the Matrix and their bioelectric energies were harvested and used to power the Machine civilization. The Scripps National Spelling Bee, while a fantastic educational experience, both for learning the ins and outs of the English language and for learning about the history of America, is in dire need of reform. I propose to you, the executives of the E.W. Scripps Company, that the Scripps National Spelling Bee reform the competition by determining the number of spellers from each state in a way that is proportional to the state s population, standardizing the difficulty of bees prior to the national level, and decreasing the value of points earned from the new addition of vocabulary. While spellers competing at the national level follow various paths to earn their coveted spots, people from certain geographic areas have a tremendously easier path than others. This difficult discrepancy is largely based on the number of spellers that each specific state allows to progress to the national level each year.
