Job Maintenance Or Knowledge Retention
When talking to my Company Officer, Captain Polston, about the scenario where a division officer is
asked to sign line items that have not been completed, she stated that it is a real problem that I will
face in the fleet. According to Captain, in some units in the fleet, there is a culture where marking off
task or line items is the norm. Especially when facilitated by the E 4 to E 6 level community, where
items signed off without verifying that the subordinate retained the knowledge or completed the job.
The reasoning behind speed signing line items is that somebody did it for me, so I m going to do it for
someone else. A bro before joe atmosphere has developed in these units, where it is expected that
items will be signed with minimal effort in job maintenance or knowledge retention. Captain stated
that enlisted in these select units enlisted do not necessarily mean to harm anyone and are not all
laxidasical, but rather have assimilated into a culture where this type of conduct is accepted.
Therefore, Captain urged that we as divisional officers develop a motto of trust, but verify. It was
discussed that sometimes, it is easy to want to trust your enlisted and even Chief when an inspection is
coming around. However, we need to remember that we are ultimately responsible for the
maintenance of our division and the knowledge/ readiness of our crew. Therefore, we must
occasionally inspect the division ourselves to ensure that all standards are met and completed

Original Sin Psychology
Evolutionary Psychology and Original Sin The Human Dark Side: Evolutionary Psychology and
Original Sin was written by Joseph Lee and M. Theol. This article is an attempt to supply such a
response by focusing on the distinctively Christian doctrine of original sin, which presents itself as an
especially likely candidate for support from evolutionary psychology. The Christian doctrine of
original sin makes more sense as evolutionary psychologists learn more about why people do bad
things. Christian responses to the developing field of evolutionary psychology tend to be defensive,
focusing on the task of showing that Christians have not been presented with any reason to abandon
any central beliefs of the Christian faith. A more positive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Original sin has been defined as the need for redemption by Christ that is universal to all human
beings and acquired through natural generation. Descent of all humans from a single couple
monoecism is not essential to the doctrine; the Catholic magisterium has continued to insist on it
simply in order to explain why all humans need to be saved. The requirement of natural generation
likewise sought only to account for the undeniable fact that the tendency to sin is present in all of us,
even prior to our first moral choices. It does not imply, in Augustinian fashion, that sexuality is
somehow the root of all evil. According to the article we do all sin because we have all inherited from
the very first living things on earth a powerful tendency to act selfishly, no matter the cost to others.
Free will enables us to override this tendency, but only sporadically and with great effort; we more
readily opt for self. This tendency in all of us is what our tradition calls the stain of original sin. It is
not the result of a fall in our prehistory, since we were never more selfless than we are now. It is
present even in infants, who are undeniably self centered, though guiltless of actual sin. We incur guilt
only when we freely choose to act on this tendency to the detriment of others. Not all self centered
acts are sinful, but all sins are instances of

Essay On Spirometry
I am going to presume that if you are reading this article on Jane s website, you have COPD [or other
lung disease]. I am also going to take a big leap and presume that you have all done a breathing test
called spirometry? I ask this because statistics show that a surprising number of people have been
diagnosed with COPD, but have never had spirometry done. That is like diagnosing a patient with
diabetes without ever testing their blood sugar level. Spirometry is done using a piece of equipment
called a spirometer. The term spiro comes from the Latin language and means to breathe, and meter
(derived from either Old English, French or Greek...take your pick) means to measure. The spirometer
is not a new invention. In 1846 an Englishman named John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These patients cannot easily exhale all of their air, leaving some air in the lungs at the end of
exhalation. We refer to this as air trapping. Patients with the Little Lung Syndrome can t get air in
because something is restricting the flow of gas into their lungs. Imagine someone putting a wide,
very tight belt around your rib cage...what would happen when you tried to take in a deep breath? You
couldn t! With restrictive disease; pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, asbestosis, etc...your
lungs are very stiff, and they do not inflate easily, so it is hard to take in a deep breath. If after doing a
spirometry test, the therapist determines that your lungs are not functioning normally, we give the
results to your doctor and he/she will order more specific tests in a pulmonary function lab to see what
exactly the problem is. You have no doubt heard or read the National Lung Health Education Program

The Story Of A Cottage
In a cottage far far away there lived a girl named June. June lived with her mother and father. Every
day, June and her mother would go out and find new flowers to look at and to see. June s mother s
favorite flower was a petal flower and the only place that had the petal flower was by the Witch s
house. Once in awhile June and her mother would go out and try to see the flower without getting
caught by the mean old Witch. While June and her mom went flower hunting her father would go out
and try to sell the different types of flowers that they picked.
One day, the mother was getting old and sadly died. June was only 15, but she had to keep finding
new flowers to keep her dad and her alive. Her mother was buried near the grassy field by ... Show

stolen my flowers I have no choice but to CURSE YOU . Those flowers took years to grow and I
made them, that is why you can t find them anywhere else , The Witch explained. The Witch took
something out of her cabinet and threw it onto June. She threw a goat potion because all of a sudden
June turned into a goat. Why did everything turn so small? , cried June. You fool, said the Witch, you
have turned into a Goat, and you will be like that for the rest of your life if you can find three roses.
You have to tomorrow night to break the curse, but if you don t you will be a goat forever. June has
seen roses before. Roses were located on the way to the petal flowers, because she made her trip here
everyday she knew exactly where the are! The Witch unlocked the jail cell and June started her
journey. The duck stopped in her path and repeted his saying, If you fix things, other things will be
fixed! Ramo I am on a very important journey. If I cant find three roses by tomorrow I will be stuck
like this forever, June cried. Can I join you? Ramo said. Sure , June commented.
June and Ramo started their adventure. June realized that the duck is also under a curse. Secretly the
duck was the prince and he had a quest, but he got stuck and the Witch turned

Feminism In Our Time Analysis
Naomi Weisstein and Susan Brownmiller were powerful voices for women during the second wave of
feminism in America. Their writings, Kinder, Kuche, Kirche as Scientific Law: Psychology Constructs
the Female and Against Our Will: Men, Women, and Rape , found in the anthology Feminism in Our
Time , reflected how throughout the 20th century, popular medical and psychological models were
centered around men which resulted in women receiving inaccurate and inappropriate treatments.
They argued that the oppression of women was perpetuated through false narratives under the guise of
science but with no empirical evidence. Both Weisstein and Brownmiller harshly criticized the popular
use of Freudian theories which influenced many aspects of society

High Dynamic Range Of A Digital Photography Technique
2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple
exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image
editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a
scene, image or imaging device is defined as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal
level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range
of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using
floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern display devices have
limited dynamic rage for displaying HDR image, so tone mapping technique have been used to solve
this problem. Tone mapping technique used to map high dynamic range images to low dynamic range
image that will be displayed on devices. The tone mapping operators can be classified into two
categories: global operators and local operators. Global operators can be described as spatially
uniform methods because the same mapping function is used for all the pixels of the input HDR
image. Global tone mapping operators are computationally very simple and preserve the intensity
orders of the original scenes thus avoiding halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped
images. Local operators, which reproduce the tonal values in a spatially variant manner because
mapping function processes

Of Mice And Men Treatment Of Women Essay
Treatment of Women in Literature and the Real World
A woman s role in life is an important element in literature and in the real world. Two literary works
that talk about women s roles are Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and Arthur Miller s play, Death
of a Salesman. In both works there are few representations of women and what they are supposed to
do. In Of Mice and Men and Death of a Salesman the women are expected to do the housework and
comply with what their husband tells them. In both works women are treated more like possessions
than people.
In Of Mice and Men there is one woman, Curley s wife, who plays an active role in the book. She is
never given a name, other than Curley s wife, because Steinbeck wanted to emphasis the fact that she
isn t treated with the same respect as the men, who all had names. She is treated like Curley s
possession instead of a person. At one point in the book Curley and Slim get into an argument over
her. Slim says, If you can t look after your own God damn wife, what do you expect me to do about it?
(Steinbeck 62). This shows how people treat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Emergency Department Ratios
Soleimanpour et. al (2011) explained that patient satisfaction is an essential component in the
Emergency Department (ED) because it is the entrance for patients to receive their initial treatments.
The most important and single possible cause for ED patients flow problem is the availability of
inpatients beds (Peck et. al, 2012). The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) (2011)
explained that the primary cause of ED overcrowding is boarding; which was defined as holding
patients in the ED after the admission had been completed due to unavailability of inpatient beds.
Lutheran Medical Center faced this problem and in his paper will discuss analysis of the problem,
determination of possible quality lapses, identification of performance measures, designing and
evaluation of the interventions and reporting of the results. The quality improvement tool which would
be used to analyze the problem is the Root Cause Analysis (RCA), which is a post hoc process to

Marjane Satrapi s Persepolis
Persepolis is an autobiography of Marjane Satrapi s childhood in her native Iran. She writes about
being a child in Iran through the Iranian revolution and the Iran Iraq war. As Satrapi recounts stories of
her youth, one can observe that the Iran Iraq war and the Iranian revolution are the central events
driving the entire story. When the revolution and war happens, the dynamics of the book change
completely. War creates a sense of unity and nationalism. Marjane shows a large contrast between her
life before and after the war. The war forces her and her family to adapt in ways that they would have
previously never thought possible. This process of adapting to her environment proves to be very
insightful for readers as it gives a very provides a previously unseen perspective. Her community and
family prove to be essential in dealing with the atrocities as they adapt to their environment during the
war.
The Iran Iraq war changes Marjane s family dynamics in a dramatic manner. This causes her family to
begin rely on each other in a ways that are previously unobservable in the text. As the daily comforts
of their wealthy lifestyle disappear and are replaced with perpetual terror, one begins to see Marjane s
family bonding on an entirely new level. Early in the war, Marjane s family begins spending more
time as a unit. This can be seen in the increase in frames ,in the text, depicting her family conversing
in rooms around the house. Her family begins to spend large amount of

Speaking Of The Unspoken Places
When things are hidden from the public, or if the public is not aware of something, it is left untold.
This happens to many events and people throughout history. According to Chimamanda Ngozi
Adichie s speech, The Danger of a Single Story, we need multiple stories so one is not veiled by the
single story. When there is only one side of a story, the other side is unspoken. Once the other half is
not made visible, it dehumanizes the people who are a part of the unspoken story. They become
places, things, and people that are forgotten. Martin Espada wrote in Speaking of the Unspoken Places
in Poetry, that sometimes these places are unspoken because unspeakable things happen there.

It generated a loss of identity for women and men. There are many instances in the book that support
this notion. This is especially seen when the narrator uses the game of checkers as a metaphor for how
the lives of the slaves were handled. Baby Suggs, one of the prominent characters in the novel, lived
an underprivileged life as many of the slaves. She was a slave woman whose son worked extra hours
to buy her out of slavery. The narrator says, in all of Baby s life, as well as Sethe s own, men and
women were moved around like checkers. Anybody Baby Suggs knew, let alone loved, who hadn t run
off or been hanged, got rented out, loaned out, bought up, brought back, stored up, mortgaged, won,
stolen or seized (Morrison 28). Checkers is a metaphor for these people who are not seen as humans.
These people were pieces used, moved, and checked off when not convenient. This was a form of
oppression. By dehumanizing and discriminating a group of people, you rob them of dignity and
deplete their identity to where they become less than a chicken (Morrison 86). With their identity,
went their ability to mother. The narrator goes on to say, so Baby s eight children had six fathers. What
she called the nastiness of life was the shock she received upon learning that nobody stopped playing
checkers just because the pieces included her children (Morrison 28). Baby Suggs lost all but one of
her children to slavery ruled by white supremacy. A lot of black men and women lost their lives to a
cruel death or to the appointing player, the white man, waiting to call

Racism And Sexism For A Brighter Future
The description of issue due to racism and sexism is given below supported by educators articles
which includes Dr. James Waller and Sikivu Hutchinson. Throughout this essay, the mission is to
prevent discrimination and stereotypes for a brighter future. As we list the common issues that are
occurring in america s society that initially came from human nature of the elder generations. As we
believe in a way of life that dictates what one can do and can not do because of race, gender, ethnicity,
and interest. We consider these by laws as the normal in society.
Stereotyping and racism Everyday someone is abused of their legal rights, and today people are
affected by racism and sexism due to their ethnicity and gender. I ask have you ever been limited on
what you can and cannot do? Many americans are limited to what careers, education, and others due to
stereotyping. Stereotyping is a way that one describes what you are interested in and future careers
due to just the visual of yourself and your beliefs. As I have experienced what it is like to be
stereotyped, I know many other have experienced the same. Will there ever be a solution to the society
error that we describe as normal? Or would you like it if someone treated you the way you treat
others? Society will change over time due to the human race and their actions. Someday we will live
equal lives and that is the day we will conquer world peace, but today what will we do as individuals
or together to improve the

Runs Girl Essay
Redurm in the Beautiful Sky
How far would you go to save a member of your family s life? Would you be willing to forget your
beliefs, to risk everything to save a loved one? These were some of the questions that I was thinking
during the short story Runs Girl by Chinelo Okparanta. The story of a young girl who becomes a runs
girl, which is a Nigerian escort, to earn money to pay for her mother s medical treatment. I found the
story to be interesting, which I believe to be the most challenging about short stories typically. Making
the reader emotionally involved and invested in a story and characters in only a small number of
pages. Symbolism and foreshadowing was a major literary tool in tell of this story. The theme of
compassion is a major aspect of the story that influence Ada and her mother s actions. The mother was
once a fun loving, and even described as gregarious lively sprit. Until her husband past away. She then
flipped like a switch, and became more reserved. The relationship between her and her daughter Ada
changed too. It becomes more cold and distant. No matter how I said it, it would have felt contrived,

Essay about Joan Of Arc By Jules Basten Lepage
Joan of Arc, was painted by the French realist artist Jules Bastien Lepage in 1879. After the province
of Lorraine was lost to Germany following the Franco Prussian War in 1821, The Frenchmen saw in
Joan of Arc a new and powerful symbol. In 1875, Bastien Lepage, a native of Lorraine began to make
studies for a picture of her. In the present painting, exhibited in the Salon of 1880, Joan is shown
receiving her revelation in her parents garden. Behind her are Saints Michael, Margaret, and
Catherine. (Caption next to painting in The Metropolitan)

This makes her a more easily visible aspect in the painting, and catches the onlookers eye. Joan is
dressed in a long brown skirt and blue gray shirt with white underneath which is the typical clothing
style of the 19th century. The clothing is painted to show its wear and tear. Her features and her figure
are quite realistic. She seems to have a calm, but troubled expression on her face, as though she is
deep in thought. Overall she is painted in a very detailed manner.
A less visible, yet still present and important aspect of the painting are the three figures positioned
behind Joan, and in front of the house. The figures are somewhat transparent, and ghostly. Their
presence adds a spiritual and or religious feeling to the scene. These three figures presence blends into
the scenery. Al three have halos above their heads, and serene looks on their faces.
The saint on the right is dressed in what looks to be armor. He looks brave, and as if he is standing
guard or going into battle. The middle saint is a praying angel. She is in a dress with a gauzy, white
presence around her. This whiteness gives her an ethereal quality which Bastien Lepage has painted
quite effectively, and adds to the spiritual feeling of the scene. Her presence in the painting seems to
represent chastity and virtue. The last figure looks like a young girl or child, who is kneeling with her
face hidden in her hands almost as if she is

Critical Opinion On Critical Thinking
Critical thinking involves evaluating and analyzing data in order to form a reasonable judgment about
a particular topic or idea. It is not simply believing a subject matter because someone in authority or
expertise said it, but challenging those arguments in order to form a well thought out conclusion. A
critical thinker will normally not accept an answer without reasoning; they require evidence to
validate or prove their conclusion. The ability to reason logically is a fundamental and disciplined skill
that can be learned over time. The critical thinking process involves knowledge of the subject matter.

Active Learning Reflection
1) Active Learning Small mentions that the best way for students to learn is not through memorization
of facts or procedures, but through group work and problem solving. The article states that through
active learning, students can use math to solve problems, develop their own ideas, and build upon the
ideas of others (Small 4). I agree with Small s thinking, as students do tend to benefit more when they
get the chance to share their ideas with others and observe their classmates work to see how similar or
different their thinking strategies are. This allows students to actively engage with the question (math
problem), learn how to problem solve, understand that there is more than one way to approach a
solution, think outside the box, as well as see how this problem can relate to topics outside the
classroom. I personally, never enjoyed group work. Throughout my experience in public school, my
teachers would always promote group activities, but there was never any guidance or instruction to it,
so the discussions would be unbeneficial and confusing (eg. People choose not to talk, did not know
what they were doing or had the same idea). 2) Using Manipulative s While growing up,
manipulatives were a tool that was commonly used in my classroom. Small states that manipulative
materials concrete representations of mathematical ideas is essential to developing mathematical
understanding (4). I believe that manipulatives are great tools, especially for younger students,

King Henry As A Good King In William Shakespeare s Henry V
What does it mean to be a king as compared to a man? William Shakespeare s work Henry V attempts
to answer this question with a title character who is both. King Henry s morality, defined by his deeply
complex character, rests precariously on the title he is defined by: should he be judged solely as a king
or also as a man? The label makes a difference. Through his actions and leadership during the play,
Henry proves himself to be a good king, one worthy of respect and admiration. However, at the same
time, the same actions do not always reveal a particularly good or virtuous man. Highlighting the
disparity between the two roles, Shakespeare intended for King Henry to be admired and respected as
a good king but not necessarily as a good man.
To understand this distinction, one must first recognize that the qualities that make up a good king
often diverge from those attributed to a good man. For example, to be considered a good man, one
might try to be forgiving and tolerant; however, to be a good king, one often has to be exactly the
opposite. Why does this make sense? It is not because a king is naturally unforgiving or refuses to take
the high road; instead, he has a higher purpose than to be kind to those immediately around him. To be
a good king, one cannot be an emotional creature, but instead be a calculating one. He should put the
needs of his kingdom above all other things, including his own desires or whims. A good king
recognizes that he must serve, protect, and

The Information You Need If You Want to Be a News Anchor
Introduction
For a person who wants to be an anchor of a news station like me, you think you can talk about
everything and anything pertaining to the news, this is incorrect. Every show has regulations set by the
Government. This goes for television, radio, newspaper, magazines and even for the internet. If any
sort of media fails to abide by these rules, it is easy for the company to be sued or the network to
become canceled. If you are part of the television crowd and want to go into this career cluster, this
information would be very helpful to know.
Cross Ownership
If you are interested in owning a broadcasting company, you may, however, you would not be allowed
to also own a newspaper company at the same time. This is because the Federal Communications
Commission A.K.A the FCC will not allow cross ownership. According to Common Cause (n.d.), the
Federal Communications Commission describes cross ownership as a single owner depriv(ing) a
community of important, diverse source(s) of news, information, and opinion. This goes to show that
if one company were to own both newspaper companies and news stations in one area, then most of its
information could be assumed as being biased and one sided. This is called the cross ownership ban.
Along with broadcast and newspaper cross ownership, there is also radio and television cross
ownership. This pertains to the number of television and radio stations a company can own in one
community. However, the rules on this ban

Compression Stockings Affect The Clothes On The Body
Compression hose also called compression stockings are specialized hosiery that is designed to help
improve the circulation in the legs to prevent venous disease such as swelling, varicose veins and
blood clots. They are made from elastic, and compress the legs to help the muscles keep the blood
flowing back to the lungs and heart.
Venous insufficiency occurs when there is too much pressure on the veins in the legs so that the wall
of the vein becomes weak and the tiny valves inside the veins stop working properly. This results in
the blood pooling in the vein causing it to bulge and twist. Compression hose helps reduce the
pressure in the veins and prevents the veins from shutting down. They force the blood to pass through
narrower channels, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are prescribed to treat lymphatic and venous drainage of the leg. They also have distributed
pressure from the ankle to the thigh, and are most often prescribed for people who do not walk.
Compression stockings are also used by athletes in the hope they will improve the efficiency of the
muscles. While this may or may not be true, many athletes have anecdotal evidence that they benefit
from the stockings.
Both types of compression hose come in knee high or thigh high length. Knee high is considered the
best choice for prevention of deep vein thrombosis. They are also more comfortable. However, this is
a decision that may be made by our specialist.
Compression stockings may have a circular knit that is more attractive or a flat knit that has a seam
and is mostly used for high compression purposes. Compression stockings may also be custom made
for a specific individual. Support hose has mild compression that is more for prevention than therapy
and is sold over the counter.

Alfred Hitchcock The Birds Essay
The greatest art in films is by the means of the ability to create an emotion in the viewers of the film
and by the means of and imagery. Alfred Hitchcock, for a long time, has been a household name since
he began filmmaking. Hitchcock has been able to accumulate a well known and distinct cinematic
techniques making him stand out as one of the best filmmakers around the globe. What makes
Hitchcock s films must watch movies are how he draws his viewers emotion and leave them in
suspense (Maher 246). Hitchcock s The Birds is an American horror film dropped in 1963. The film is
loosely rooted in the 1952 story of Daphne Du Maurier and focuses on a sudden series, unexplained
powerful and violent birds attacking the people of Bodega Bay ... Show more content on

Among the visual techniques employed in these films is the lighting. Even though it is a pathetic
fallacy, the lighting atmosphere is very bright and colorful in the film. The Birds is set in many scenes
to reflect the characters behaviors in the scenes (Maher 248). Again, towards the end of the bright
lighting, a dark color is presented to create an eerie atmosphere. For instance, an excellent use of
lighting is offered in the dead farmer s scene. Here, lighting symbolizes the mood in the scene. It starts
with Lydia trekking down in a very bright sunlight, the light dims as she approaches the door. Inside
the house, there is a window with natural light although no false in the house. Even so, the absence of
light suggests a bad situation, which the audience is left to figure out. The director uses this to create
unease with the observer.
The use of lighting in today s cinematography has great impacts on the intended audience. The main
characters in modern movies are usually directed in key lights. Generally, the lights on these key
objects are brighter than the fill light and the backlight. Light is targeted to give clarity of the image,
to quest for better realism and to create an atmosphere of emotions (Cohen 127). Lightings, in
particular, are fundamental tools in manipulating the audiences response to narrative events and
characters.
The use of camera narration is another Hitchcockian technique that heightens the level of suspense in
both The Birds and Identity

Childhood Obesity Analysis
Parents Child Caretakers Obesity in America is literally a growing problem, affecting every age group.
Children are the most venerable group because they have no control over where they have dinner or
how often they have fast food. Parents and guardians make decisions about food and are responsible
for the health of children. Childhood obesity has more than doubled in the last twenty years. This is
concerning because Type Two diabetes is a horrible, crippling disease that is affecting children and
teens dramatically whereas the disease was primarily seen in adults. Children are said to have a shorter
life span than their parents for the first time ever. In the United States sixty six percent of adults are

the country and organize their efforts to prevent this disease. One such organization is the Leadership
for Healthy Communities, which is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
(RWJF). The RWJF holds summits nationwide events calling on policy leaders nationwide to advance
healthy eating and active living options in their communities. According to the RWJF, a special
emphasis has been placed on collaborative state and community policy approaches that address
childhood obesity among vulnerable populations disproportionately affected by the epidemic. The
RWJF also has a panel, which consists of its chairmen, doctors, lawyers, but more importantly
politicians on the state and federal level who are taking childhood obesity head on and working with

March 1, 2016 We are excited to provide opportunities for improved learning and transformation of
the school experience. The Digital Learning Initiative (DLI) provides a method to blend traditional,
high functioning classrooms with personalized, technology rich digital classrooms making a blended
learning environment for our students. Educational trends support the need for students to become
fluent in researching and acquiring information, in being critical thinkers able to solve problems,
developing skills to communicate and work collaboratively, and to be innovators with focus on
fostering creativity. Technology tools and resources enhance the way we prepare our students for their
future college and career. Solid curriculum, innovative instruction, and digital learning strategies both
inside and outside of the classroom combine to create increased levels of student engagement and
learning.
This describes today s classroom and it surely has changed drastically from yesterday s classroom.
The above quote is taken directly from the Naperville School District 203 website in regards to this

The Pros And Cons Of Television Shows
If you have ever watched TV, you might notice many commonalities and trends between many of the
TV shows that are on air. The shows usually follow similar storylines of a protagonist (usually male)
who struggles with their own moral values, usually stirring up trouble for themselves and those around
them. Now you re probably asking yourself: Hm I wonder why so many shows follow similar
patterns? Well the answer to that question is because of YOU! It s all your fault that TV can be so
monotonous and repetitive. You are a part of a giant collective that drives what TV shows are being
shown, what TV shows are being cancelled, and even when TV shows are being played. You are a part
of the audience. The audience is what drives TV shows to be the entertaining platforms that they are
meant to be, but they are also the most crippling aspect of the television itself.
If I wanted to pitch a TV show to a TV network, the script would be immediately thrown in the trash.
This is because I am nowhere to be found in the hierarchy of the television network. The television
hierarchy makes it almost impossible for lesser known writers and producers to release their work on
popular networks. Also, newer shows do not get as much of a fighting chance as others because these
new shows must compete with other popular TV shows for the best time slots, therefore getting less
viewers, increasing the chance the network pulls the plug on new shows.
When TV networks try to decide what shows to put on

Wuthering Heights And Thrushcross Knighte Analysis
Is Wuthering Heights as nice a place as Thrushcross Grange? (Brontë 329). That seems to be the
question quickly answered in the start of the novel, Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë, and the
answer is very clearly: No. In Wuthering Heights, contrast between the two main and unique places,
Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, helps to define and separate the lifestyles of the main
characters. Wuthering Heights is distinctively more dark and chaotic and is full of troubles that make
it seem a much darker place, while Thrushcross Grange is a brighter and more peaceful house. Brontë
is able to use the two contrasting places to help support the drastically different character personalities,
whether it be troublesome Catherine or her peaceful and calmer husband, Edgar. The use of the
drastically different places, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, are vital to the novel because
they offer contrast in the physical houses and define the people living in them and are meaningful to
the novel by providing a deep and drastic connection to each place for the reader to separate and
understand the characters thoroughly.
The difference between Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange is literally like night and day in
the sense of drastic environmental differences that lead to a vivid contrast between the two places. As
Lockwood first comes upon Wuthering Heights, he was greeted by the dark contrast from the
surrounding town of Gimmerton. Wuthering Heights is notably

An Overview Of Food Safety Essay
An Overview of Food Safety
Unsafe food has been a human health problem since history was first recorded, and many food safety
problems encountered today are not new. Although governments all over the world are doing their best
to improve the safety of the food supply, the occurrence of foodborne disease remains a significant
health issue in both developed and developing countries as stated by WHO (2006). Food safety
concept is that food will not harm the consumer so long as intended use guidelines are followed when
it is prepared or eaten. Conversely, food is potentially harmful whenever it has been exposed to
hazardous agents and intended use guidelines have not been followed (ISO 22000, 2005). York et al.
(2009) as well as Gormley et al. (2011) reported that There is no doubt that the food safety is of great
importance because it provides supplied food safety and secures the conditions and actions through
the production, processing, storage or distribution of food to ensure its safety or suitability for human

the RCA process helped me to stay focused, analyze in depth information about the studies, and select
most relevant articles that would be beneficial in answering the PICOT question and appropriate for

one of the key components to the evidence based practice process. It helps to evaluate the validity,

Three Generic Strategies Essay
To attain competitive gain, organisations can differentiate their merchandise and services from their
competitors they can also choose to lower their costs in order to compete with other contenders. By
aiming their produces to a wide ranging target, they are essentially covering most of the marketplace
or if they choose, they can decide to concentrate on a narrower target within the market (Lynch 2003).
While doing so may reduce their market range it essentially reduces their other competitors. Porter
stated that there are three generic strategies that an organisation can follow to achieve competitive
gain over other organisations. These are: 1) Cost Leadership 2) Differentiation 3) Focus Cost
Leadership The organizations that endeavour to wind up the least cost makers in an industry can be
alluded to as those taking after a low cost procedure. The organization with the least expenses would
gain the most elevated benefits in the occasion when the contending items are basically
undifferentiated, and offering at a standard business market cost. Organizations taking after this
methodology place accentuation on cost diminishment in each action in the value chain. Note that an
organization may be a cost pioneer however that does not inexorably infer that the organization s
items would have a low cost. In specific occurrences, the organization can for occasion charge a
normal cost while applying the low cost leadership strategy and put the earnings made back into the

Aboriginal Australia as a Dream Culture
To better understand Aboriginals as a Dream Culture I want to give more insight into Aboriginal
Australians general culture and their conceptions of Dream Time. In his discussion of religion, Mircea
Eliade describes a concept of Cosmos vs Chaos (Eliade 1957). In this notion an unordered world is
chaotic only until is it transposed during a sacred time: By occupying it and, above all, by settling in
it, man symbolically transforms it into a cosmos though a ritual repetition of the cosmogony (Eliade
1957:31). In other words until a land is tamed or created it is considered unordered. This can be
applied to Aboriginal s understanding of the world prior to their current presence. Aboriginals believe
that in a time before the Dreamings, the land and world was a featureless earth. It was not until the
dreamtime, or time of creation: where there is contact with appearances from both realms of inside the
earth itself as from ill defined upper region that the earth began to have its composed landscapes
(Cowan 1992:26). The Dream Time is not only a period but more of a dimension where ancestral
beings moved across the earth and created not only land, but every aspect of the earth including
animals, plants, and man. It is important to realize that the ancestors created the natural earth and that
is why Aboriginals live a particular lifestyle. Most Aboriginals living in this cosmogony are hunter
gatherer tribes. This aspect of their life can be traced to stem from the idea of

Examples Of Heroism In World War One Poetry
World War One poets Rupert Brooke and Wilfred Owen both use poetry to examine their differing
perspectives surrounding the idea of heroism in war. Brooke s The Soldier depicts an idealistic,
patriotic view towards fighting for his country, whereas Owen s Dulce et Decorum est demonstrates a
realistic view of the senseless horrors of war. Both poets utilise similar poetic techniques of imagery
and sound devices to express their contradictory views of the atrocious events of the greatest war that
the world had ever seen at that time.
The Soldier was written at the beginning of World War One before anyone had a chance to experience
the atrocity of a world war. The sonnet portrays a romanticised view of the positives of war for his

By creating these nurturing, peaceful images of a beautiful countryside, Brooke evokes pride from his
primary audience, which in turn creates a sense of nationalism. Furthermore, references to the themes
of heaven and the afterlife create comforting images in the reader s mind. Brooke describes a pulse in
the eternal mind for the hearts at peace under an English heaven , suggesting that those who die
fighting for their country will find themselves in a heaven as idyllic as England. The paradisiacal
images created by Brooke are a stark contrast to the gruesome images featured in Owen s poem. Dulce
et Decorum est is rich in similes that graphically illustrate the goriest details of war. The soldiers in the
poem are described as old beggars who are coughing like hags , which illustrates a loss of dignity,
health and the innocence associated with youth. As the poem progresses, a soldier is the victim of a
gas attack and is described vividly, with white eyes, writhing in his face as blood comes gargling from
his froth corrupted lungs, obscene as cancer . Owen s dark subject matter is further explored through
his juxtaposition of children ardent for desperate glory and soldiers marching like beggars under sacks
. The use of these similes and images shocks the reader and conveys the ruthless reality of war.
Furthermore, the distinctive use of sound devices by both poets further illustrates their opposing views
on war. The use of alliteration to create

The Pros And Cons Of Memory
Since the early days of humanity, humans have developed exceptional skills and critical thinking
capabilities which increased our capacity to communicate and interact with our environment.
Individuals are capable of holding and storing information and passing it to others. That capability is
called memory which is fundamental for human s day to day life. According to psychologists, memory
is defined as a brain wide process, which consists of encoding, storage and retrieval of information
(Mastin). The human memory is a complex mental process that has been analyzed by many scientists
and psychologists. The discoveries made throughout the years have shown diverse facts, for example,
the human brain has a storage capacity of about 2.5pent bytes (Reber). In this paper, it will be showed
not only the discoveries of memory, but how it is formed and how it works. As we go deeper, we will
discover the science behind memory.
As mentioned before, memory passes through tree basic processes that are encoding, storage and
retrieval. Encoding refers to the process of transforming information into a format code that can be
understandable for the memory system. After the information is encoded, the information is storage.

The Characteristics Of Alfred Hitler s Birth Order
Alfred Adler was most famous for his perspective on how the development as a person based on your
birth is progressed. He believes that each family is different and that his birth order scale just happens
to be a possible tool to help people understand the general roles of children. Even though Adler states
the types of position you were born are important, he also describes his birth order scale as it is not
birth order itself that accounts for differences among siblings, but the psychological situation resulting
from it (Allen, 2006). For example, you may be an only child, but take on many or possible more
characteristics of a middle child based on Adler s description. Although Adler believes in the
characteristics he stated for each birth orders, he states that if there are more than three years between

In addition, I believe that Adler was pretty accurate when stating the characteristics on the position of

Still others may simply allow for airlines to establish their own corporate ground service bases to
work independently of other generic airport services (Fuhr amp; Beckers, 2006). Applying any
standardized measurement system to something so non standardized presents quite a challenge, if the
PMS is too flexible or broad it will not be able to adequately express enough detail to be useful, if it is
too rigid it simply won t apply to all of the airports and doesn t allow for change in an inherently
volatile industry. Schmidberger s critique of the PMS established throughout European airports is very
positive, though it does not place a very high emphasis on establishing this need for balance between
detail and flexibility. Schmidberger s report contrasts his proposed PMS with the usual methods of
evaluation currently in use at several airports. Most of these measurement systems define airside
ground services as subsets of other larger firms (such as airport authorities or airlines) (Chow, Heaver,
amp; Henriksson, 1994), this is not necessarily an accurate representation of these ground service
entities seeing as in many cases they are quite separate from associated parent companies or
completely separate entities wherein logistics are a primary function. While the establishment of this
contrast in Schmidberger s report certainly has value, it fails to note that in

My Day at Court
My Day In A Civil Court
On February, 27, 2012 I took a trip down to the City Courthouse. After driving around looking for the
courthouse, I found a parking spot, and entered the Courthouse just after 9 a.m. Upon arriving at the
courthouse, I had no expectations, since this trip was my first visit. However, I did notice quite the
crowd entering and exiting out of the courthouse. Nonetheless, I moved on ahead and walked toward
the entrance. Once inside, I observed two security guards, and a large metal detector. The metal
detector was so sensitive that my belt buckle set off an alarm. I was asked to step to the side and
spread my arms out away from my body. One of the security officers took a black wand and waved it

He had also gotten into trouble financially for fraud, DUI and criminal charges including assault on
the mother. He still, however, owns a home, has a full time working live in partner, two cars, a
pension, investments, and liquidities. As for the mother side, she is making less than 25K as a FT
student and parent with one child, and works 18+ hours/week. She doesn t own her own home, but
rents and is not in debt: she cuts her own hair, and uses the bus to save, goes to no entertainment etc.,
and puts all her money toward food and housing. She s also on scholarship for school so that is paid
for. Her base of refusing is due to fear of the father abusing the child while under the influence of
alcohol. The Justice of the Peace asked for a T4 slip and took a little pause looking through their case.
She then quickly went in a peaceful resolution stating that no matter how difficult communication
levels are, the common grounds should be compromised to what s best for the child. Her majesty then
offers mediation to come up with an easier solution to which gives both parents equal rights to have a
relationship with the child. Something like supervised access. The case was postponed for another day
if mediation didn t play a positive factor in the case. Not too long after, a break was called for 15
minutes by the court clerk. These were some of the things that I experienced in court. Judging from

1984 Love And Hate Quotes
Winston s emotions of love and hate are interchangeable and have no stable target because the Party is
able to control the exact moments in which these emotion are expressed; by torturing Winston and
forcing him to leave his emotions vulnerable, the Party is able to fully control the target of Winston s
emotions and make them authentic.
Emotions, especially hatred, become chaotic and unclear when the Party members are able to reveal
them. During the Two Minutes Hate while he is staring at Goldstein s face on the screen, Orwell
writes: Suddenly, by the sort of violent effort with which one wrenches one s head away from the
pillow in a nightmare, Winston succeeded in transferring his hatred from the face on the screen to the
dark haired girl behind him (15). Wrenches conveys how Winston is able to quickly transfer his hate
from Goldstein to the girl behind him, demonstrating how little the recipient of hatred matters. The
feeling of hate is so strong that the target has no importance, as long as the hatred is expressed. The
phrase violent effort highlights the feeling of urgency to release emotion during the Two Minutes
Hate. Any outward expression of emotion is condemned in the society, therefore the feeling of hatred
becomes uncontrollable and frantic. Winston ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In describing his thoughts on Julia when he first saw her, Winston says, I hated the sight of you, he
said. I wanted to rape you and then murder you afterwards. Two weeks ago I thought seriously of
smashing your head in with cobblestone (121). Winston s hate for Julia is evidently severe because he
seriously thought of killing her. The hatred feels even more real because not only did he want to
murder her, he also wanted to rape and degrade her. The hate is graphic and raw which makes it feel
real, but his feelings change so quickly to love that the authenticity of these feelings are

What Is The Theme Of Dante s Divine Comedy
Dante s Divine Comedy In Dante s Divine Comedy, Dante is lost and enters a dark wood. Dante
follows Virgil who is his guide, to the top of the mountain. Through this journey Virgil takes Dante
through hell. In cantos 2 10 hell is organized into circles. The first circle is the Limbo, the unbaptized
and pagans. In this circle Dante says the people are grieving for their undying loss. It is said on page
95, that this men, women and children are not sinners but lack fulfillment. Baptism is the gateway to
faith. Pagans are lost in this circle not only because they lack Christian faith but for their lack in faith
for the nature of things. The second circle is introduced in canto five for the souls of lustful people.
Dante begins to hear grief, crying and shrieking. Dante claims that this is the least hateful of the
deadly sins because it is a shared sin. This circle is for the people involved in sexual activities and
affairs. The third circle is where the gluttonous are. The climate changes in this circle and the people
are bothered by a heavy rain storm and a three headed dog. In this circle Dante meets a Florentine who
talks about the disasters that will happen in Florence and the future for Dante. The fourth circle
belongs to the hoarders and the spendthrifts pushing big rocks towards each other. Then, in the middle
of crossing the circle Dante and Virgil are on the cliff to the Marsh of Styx, forming the fifth circle.
The circle contains the river of hell and the wrathful

Wildfire Climate Change
Introduction
Wildfires occur in the natural landscape, as forests. They tend to caught fire uncontrollably and last for
a long period of time. These occurrences are affected by many factors and each factor stimulates the
other. Global warming is one of the major factors that affect both the drought and the wildfire.
Researchers predict for higher temperatures in the coming years due to a huge increase in greenhouse
gas concentration in the air. As a result, forests will catch fire easily because there will be drier and
warmer conditions which allow the trees to die. Therefore, there will be an increase in the rate of
wildfires.
Cause of Global Warming/Climate change:
Climate change increases the number of wildfire occurrences, wildfire intensity and the length of the
wildfire season. Having dry and warm weathers will increase the severity of the wildfires by
decreasing the precipitation to 15 percent and increasing the evaporation rates. This causes California
to be in a severe drought conditions. In addition, it will increase the length of the fire season and cause

without even knowing by producing one of the follow: a vehicle spark, campfire or lite cigarette.
People cause a vehicle spark by hanging a chain at the end of the car and driving. Campfires are the
highest ranked issues for starting a wildfire. They cause a lot of destruction. For example, there was a
wildfire in Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Foothills that burned around 400 acres of land and
destroyed hundreds of homes. The amount of damages was estimated to be around 54 million. The
second highest issue that promotes wildfires is cigarette butts. People discharge their cigarette but on
dry grass either in from of their homes or near forests. The cigarette causes a blaze, which increases in

  • 2. Job Maintenance Or Knowledge Retention When talking to my Company Officer, Captain Polston, about the scenario where a division officer is asked to sign line items that have not been completed, she stated that it is a real problem that I will face in the fleet. According to Captain, in some units in the fleet, there is a culture where marking off task or line items is the norm. Especially when facilitated by the E 4 to E 6 level community, where items signed off without verifying that the subordinate retained the knowledge or completed the job. The reasoning behind speed signing line items is that somebody did it for me, so I m going to do it for someone else. A bro before joe atmosphere has developed in these units, where it is expected that items will be signed with minimal effort in job maintenance or knowledge retention. Captain stated that enlisted in these select units enlisted do not necessarily mean to harm anyone and are not all laxidasical, but rather have assimilated into a culture where this type of conduct is accepted. Therefore, Captain urged that we as divisional officers develop a motto of trust, but verify. It was discussed that sometimes, it is easy to want to trust your enlisted and even Chief when an inspection is coming around. However, we need to remember that we are ultimately responsible for the maintenance of our division and the knowledge/ readiness of our crew. Therefore, we must occasionally inspect the division ourselves to ensure that all standards are met and completed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This article is an attempt to supply such a response by focusing on the distinctively Christian doctrine of original sin, which presents itself as an especially likely candidate for support from evolutionary psychology. The Christian doctrine of original sin makes more sense as evolutionary psychologists learn more about why people do bad things. Christian responses to the developing field of evolutionary psychology tend to be defensive, focusing on the task of showing that Christians have not been presented with any reason to abandon any central beliefs of the Christian faith. A more positive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Original sin has been defined as the need for redemption by Christ that is universal to all human beings and acquired through natural generation. Descent of all humans from a single couple monoecism is not essential to the doctrine; the Catholic magisterium has continued to insist on it simply in order to explain why all humans need to be saved. The requirement of natural generation likewise sought only to account for the undeniable fact that the tendency to sin is present in all of us, even prior to our first moral choices. It does not imply, in Augustinian fashion, that sexuality is somehow the root of all evil. According to the article we do all sin because we have all inherited from the very first living things on earth a powerful tendency to act selfishly, no matter the cost to others. Free will enables us to override this tendency, but only sporadically and with great effort; we more readily opt for self. This tendency in all of us is what our tradition calls the stain of original sin. It is not the result of a fall in our prehistory, since we were never more selfless than we are now. It is present even in infants, who are undeniably self centered, though guiltless of actual sin. We incur guilt only when we freely choose to act on this tendency to the detriment of others. Not all self centered acts are sinful, but all sins are instances of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I am also going to take a big leap and presume that you have all done a breathing test called spirometry? I ask this because statistics show that a surprising number of people have been diagnosed with COPD, but have never had spirometry done. That is like diagnosing a patient with diabetes without ever testing their blood sugar level. Spirometry is done using a piece of equipment called a spirometer. The term spiro comes from the Latin language and means to breathe, and meter (derived from either Old English, French or Greek...take your pick) means to measure. Their writings, Kinder, Kuche, Kirche as Scientific Law: Psychology Constructs the Female and Against Our Will: Men, Women, and Rape , found in the anthology Feminism in Our Time , reflected how throughout the 20th century, popular medical and psychological models were centered around men which resulted in women receiving inaccurate and inappropriate treatments. • 7. High Dynamic Range Of A Digital Photography Technique 2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a scene, image or imaging device is defined as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern display devices have limited dynamic rage for displaying HDR image, so tone mapping technique have been used to solve this problem. Tone mapping technique used to map high dynamic range images to low dynamic range image that will be displayed on devices. The tone mapping operators can be classified into two categories: global operators and local operators. Global operators can be described as spatially uniform methods because the same mapping function is used for all the pixels of the input HDR image. Global tone mapping operators are computationally very simple and preserve the intensity orders of the original scenes thus avoiding halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped images. Local operators, which reproduce the tonal values in a spatially variant manner because mapping function processes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Of Mice And Men Treatment Of Women Essay Treatment of Women in Literature and the Real World A woman s role in life is an important element in literature and in the real world. Two literary works that talk about women s roles are Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and Arthur Miller s play, Death of a Salesman. In both works there are few representations of women and what they are supposed to do. In Of Mice and Men and Death of a Salesman the women are expected to do the housework and comply with what their husband tells them. In both works women are treated more like possessions than people. In Of Mice and Men there is one woman, Curley s wife, who plays an active role in the book. She is never given a name, other than Curley s wife, because Steinbeck wanted to emphasis the fact that she isn t treated with the same respect as the men, who all had names. She is treated like Curley s possession instead of a person. At one point in the book Curley and Slim get into an argument over her. Active Learning Reflection 1) Active Learning Small mentions that the best way for students to learn is not through memorization of facts or procedures, but through group work and problem solving. The article states that through active learning, students can use math to solve problems, develop their own ideas, and build upon the ideas of others (Small 4). I agree with Small s thinking, as students do tend to benefit more when they get the chance to share their ideas with others and observe their classmates work to see how similar or different their thinking strategies are. This allows students to actively engage with the question (math problem), learn how to problem solve, understand that there is more than one way to approach a solution, think outside the box, as well as see how this problem can relate to topics outside the classroom. I personally, never enjoyed group work. Throughout my experience in public school, my teachers would always promote group activities, but there was never any guidance or instruction to it, so the discussions would be unbeneficial and confusing (eg. • 18. King Henry As A Good King In William Shakespeare s Henry V What does it mean to be a king as compared to a man? William Shakespeare s work Henry V attempts to answer this question with a title character who is both. King Henry s morality, defined by his deeply complex character, rests precariously on the title he is defined by: should he be judged solely as a king or also as a man? The label makes a difference. Through his actions and leadership during the play, Henry proves himself to be a good king, one worthy of respect and admiration. However, at the same time, the same actions do not always reveal a particularly good or virtuous man. Highlighting the disparity between the two roles, Shakespeare intended for King Henry to be admired and respected as a good king but not necessarily as a good man. To understand this distinction, one must first recognize that the qualities that make up a good king often diverge from those attributed to a good man. For example, to be considered a good man, one might try to be forgiving and tolerant; however, to be a good king, one often has to be exactly the opposite. Why does this make sense? It is not because a king is naturally unforgiving or refuses to take the high road; instead, he has a higher purpose than to be kind to those immediately around him. To be a good king, one cannot be an emotional creature, but instead be a calculating one. He should put the needs of his kingdom above all other things, including his own desires or whims. A good king recognizes that he must serve, protect, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The shows usually follow similar storylines of a protagonist (usually male) who struggles with their own moral values, usually stirring up trouble for themselves and those around them. Now you re probably asking yourself: Hm I wonder why so many shows follow similar patterns? Well the answer to that question is because of YOU! It s all your fault that TV can be so monotonous and repetitive. You are a part of a giant collective that drives what TV shows are being shown, what TV shows are being cancelled, and even when TV shows are being played. You are a part of the audience. The audience is what drives TV shows to be the entertaining platforms that they are meant to be, but they are also the most crippling aspect of the television itself. If I wanted to pitch a TV show to a TV network, the script would be immediately thrown in the trash. This is because I am nowhere to be found in the hierarchy of the television network. The television hierarchy makes it almost impossible for lesser known writers and producers to release their work on popular networks. An Overview Of Food Safety Essay An Overview of Food Safety Unsafe food has been a human health problem since history was first recorded, and many food safety problems encountered today are not new. Although governments all over the world are doing their best to improve the safety of the food supply, the occurrence of foodborne disease remains a significant health issue in both developed and developing countries as stated by WHO (2006). • 31. Aboriginal Australia as a Dream Culture To better understand Aboriginals as a Dream Culture I want to give more insight into Aboriginal Australians general culture and their conceptions of Dream Time. In his discussion of religion, Mircea Eliade describes a concept of Cosmos vs Chaos (Eliade 1957). In this notion an unordered world is chaotic only until is it transposed during a sacred time: By occupying it and, above all, by settling in it, man symbolically transforms it into a cosmos though a ritual repetition of the cosmogony (Eliade 1957:31). In other words until a land is tamed or created it is considered unordered. This can be applied to Aboriginal s understanding of the world prior to their current presence. Aboriginals believe that in a time before the Dreamings, the land and world was a featureless earth. It was not until the dreamtime, or time of creation: where there is contact with appearances from both realms of inside the earth itself as from ill defined upper region that the earth began to have its composed landscapes (Cowan 1992:26). The Dream Time is not only a period but more of a dimension where ancestral beings moved across the earth and created not only land, but every aspect of the earth including animals, plants, and man. It is important to realize that the ancestors created the natural earth and that is why Aboriginals live a particular lifestyle. Most Aboriginals living in this cosmogony are hunter gatherer tribes. Brooke s The Soldier depicts an idealistic, patriotic view towards fighting for his country, whereas Owen s Dulce et Decorum est demonstrates a realistic view of the senseless horrors of war. Both poets utilise similar poetic techniques of imagery and sound devices to express their contradictory views of the atrocious events of the greatest war that the world had ever seen at that time. Applying any standardized measurement system to something so non standardized presents quite a challenge, if the PMS is too flexible or broad it will not be able to adequately express enough detail to be useful, if it is too rigid it simply won t apply to all of the airports and doesn t allow for change in an inherently volatile industry. Schmidberger s critique of the PMS established throughout European airports is very positive, though it does not place a very high emphasis on establishing this need for balance between detail and flexibility. Schmidberger s report contrasts his proposed PMS with the usual methods of evaluation currently in use at several airports. Most of these measurement systems define airside ground services as subsets of other larger firms (such as airport authorities or airlines) (Chow, Heaver, amp; Henriksson, 1994), this is not necessarily an accurate representation of these ground service entities seeing as in many cases they are quite separate from associated parent companies or completely separate entities wherein logistics are a primary function.
