College Education Worth The Cost
College Education Worth the Cost
What you guys think does College Education Worth the Cost? In the article The Wall Street Journal
edited by Riley, she said that a college education does not worth the cost. Again, she claims that most
of the colleges are doing their business, they did not care about the student (Riley). Those types of
colleges have lack serious core curriculum, they did not know their responsibility towards the student.
Moreover, I will not support the Riley argument because I am going to support the article college is
still worth the expenses, written by Justin Draeger. College education worth the cost from different
ways. All college student does not have same aims to attain college. After high school some students
have no any ideas what to do next. Those students just attain college, make friends and get some idea
from them than only they decided what to do in life. Some of them continue college education and
some of them find another field in which they are interested than only they start their journey. In this
research essay I am going to argue college education worth the cost in several ways such as: Earning a
college degree is all about opening up opportunities in life, being educated person, and getting better
career opportunities. College worth the cost because earning a college degree open up opportunities in
everyone s life. In this world, education becomes necessary not only important.

Blindness In Cathedral By Raymond Carver
Looking But Not Seeing
The title of the story Cathedral by Raymond Carver is a far cry from the themes that run through the
story. Naturally, one would expect the story to centre on worship but it does not only mentioning it in
passing. Admittedly, one of the themes that clearly come out of the story is an apparent blindness of
the narrator who though physically had sight could not see the deeper things in life. On the other hand,
Robert, the physically blind man was very insightful able to appreciate the beauty of life. Robert, the
blind man finally assists the narrator to see through drawing of the cathedral.
Blindness
An interesting development in the story is the narrator s apparent blindness though he possessed good
eye sight. The narrator views blindness as a serious limitation and could not bring himself to a point of
imagining that he will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that the narrator s wife could trust him, to pour out her emotional turmoil was a clear
indication to this. It can be safely said that Robert s responses to the narrator s wife kept her strong
and made her overcome her challenges. Another interesting character of the blind man was his keen
desire to learn new things. After all, the smoking of cannabis was his first time.
Undoubtedly, the story captures the narrator as a person who is very cold in his associations with
people. The description of the wedding between Robert and Beulah as not worth attending by anyone
is utter insensitivity on his part. Further, the way he describes the blind man s eyes is very distasteful,
As I stared at his face, I saw the left pupil turn in toward his nose while the other made an effort to
keep in one place... Further still his insensitivity is revealed by him saying that he knew blind men to
be led by dogs. He was that

Mr. Hindley s Death Of The Funeral
Mr. Hindley came home to the funeral; and a thing that amazed us, and set the neighbours gossiping
right and left he brought a wife with him. What she was, and where she was born, he never informed
us: probably, she had neither money nor name to recommend her, or he would scarcely have kept the
union from his father. She was not one that would have disturbed the house much on her own account.
Every object she saw, the moment she crossed the threshold, appeared to delight her; and every
circumstance that took place about her: except the preparing for the burial, and the presence of the
mourners. I thought she was half silly, from her behaviour while that went on: she ran into her
chamber, and made me come with her, though I should have been dressing the children: and there she
sat shivering and clasping her hands, and asking repeatedly Are they gone yet? Then she began
describing with hysterical emotion the effect it produced on her to see black; and started, and
trembled, and, at last, fell a weeping and when I asked what was the matter, answered, she didn t
know; but she felt so afraid of dying! I imagined her as little likely to die as myself. She was rather
thin, but young, and fresh complexioned, and her eyes sparkled as bright as diamonds. I did remark, to
be sure, that mounting the stairs made her breathe very quick; that the least sudden noise set her all in
a quiver, and that she coughed troublesomely sometimes: but I knew nothing of what these symptoms
portended,

Argumentative Essay On Organic Food
Organic Foods
The topic of being healthy is currently trending in our world right now. Everyone wants to follow the
idea and live some form of a healthy lifestyle. Along being healthy, there is the demand of eating
healthy; which is not always easy. There are so many types of food to consider, that it is almost
overwhelming to search for healthy options. These options can range from yogurt to granola or even
the type of carrots we choose, especially when there are different forms of farming methods for our
vegetables. These methods of farming include conventional farming or organic farming. The
difference? Simple, one requires the use of harmful fertilizers and pesticides; the other does not.
Therefore, when it comes to deciding on the right vegetables for your health, organically grown food
is your best option, here s why.
First of all, the counter argument needs to be addressed. Many argue that there is not a significant
difference between organic and conventional foods. Disagreements often sound like, There is very
little scientific evidence to support any health benefits for organic products (Andrei). Opponents of
organic food have argued that it is too expensive and not at all worth the high price. They state that
Organic has become a synonym for luxury (Andrei). Many are choosing to eat organic simply because
they can afford it. Although organic food is supposedly healthier, A 2009 meta analysis...said there
was no nutrient difference in organic versus conventional

Tic Anxiety Disorder
Tic. Tic. Tic. The movement is regular and unchanging. It s constant and never ending. Tic. Tic. Tic. I
try to ignore it, but it s just there. All the time. Incessantly pulling at me. Tic. Tic. Jerk. Twitch. It s not
a ticking clock disturbing my concentration, but my right shoulder. It jerks up and back, up and back,
twitching and spasming, again and again. I struggle to get my body under my control so I can focus.
My body is still for a second as I use all my concentration to make it obey. But then my control slips
and the tic, tic, tic begins again. I was officially diagnosed with Tourette s Syndrome in 8th grade, a
neurological disorder that causes involuntary movements called tics. I tic about every twenty seconds,
which means thousands of times a day my muscles twitch and jerk, causing pain and fatigue. My tics
are not as severe as some, but it is embarrassing to give a presentation in class when I know will pause
and stutter through much of it. It would be easy to be swallowed up in despair at my inability to
control my body. Yet, I have hope. Hope in the Creator that loves me and is in control at all times even
when my body is not. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The day I became a believer, I was in middle school and attending summer camp at Hume Lake. I had
always been a good kid and part of a church going family. Yet, I did not know the Lord for myself. I ll

to experience pain and suffering for much of his life. I could relate instantly to what he shared. He was

sinner in need of a Savior and only Jesus could save me from myself. I took refuge in the promise

Aldosterone: Role in Edematous Disorders, Hypertension, Chronic Renal Failure, and Metabolic

Abstract The role of aldosterone has expanded from the hormone s genomic effects that involve renal
sodium transport to nongenomic effects that are independent of the effect of aldosterone on sodium
transport. The nongenomic effects of aldosterone to increase fibrosis, collagen deposition,
inflammation, and remodeling of the heart and blood vessels, however, are markedly increased in the
presence of high sodium intake. The genomic effect of aldosterone increases renal sodium transport,

Diabetic patients with ACS derive a greater benefit from established therapies, particularly platelet
inhibiting therapies, including clopidogrel pretreatment, and glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor use. Recent
data show intense ADP P2Y12 platelet receptor inhibition with prasugrel is of particular clinical value
in the diabetic patient with ACS, without excessive bleeding. Diabetic patients with ACS also benefit
more from aggressive revascularization strategies. Recent data show the benefit of drug eluting stents
in the setting of primary percutaneous coronary intervention for ST segment elevation myocardial
infarction in decreasing target vessel revascularization up to 2 years, particularly in patients at highest
risk for restenosis with bare metal stents (likely diabetic patients). This review summarizes the data

Spirited Away By Hayao Miyazaki
Spirited Away In Spirited Away, Hayao Miyazaki introduces a young girl named Chihiro. She s
brought into the Spirit World through the curiosity and greediness of her parents. Miyazaki makes her
life problematic because of the simple nature of humans. He realizes that the different negative
characteristics that humans have within them lead them to trouble, even children. He claims that I m
not going to make movies that tell children, You should despair and run away . (Hayao Miyazaki
Quotes) With this in mind, Miyazaki attempts to show children that they re capable of overcoming
problems even at the young age that they re at. Within the spirit world, the apparitions have negative
plans for humans, specifically for the future of Chihiro. As if it wasn t enough for him to put the
young girl in a setting with Spirits/Ghosts, he makes it so that these apparitions have negative plans in
mind for the humans that they come in contact with. Miyazaki does this in order to put Chihiro in a
situation that the audience would see as extremely difficult. He then adds onto Chihiro s
circumstances by creating a complex environment that she has to live in while she s in the spirit world.
He places her in an spa/inn run by a deranged woman who cares more for her gigantic baby than the
spa/inn itself. Miyazaki planned and created many different angles of the building in order to depict to
the audience the type of situation that Chihiro is to be put in.

World With The Advanced Technology
In a world with the advanced technology, groundbreaking medical procedures, fine dining, and luxury
that this modern reality has to offer, it is often difficult to understand the extreme poverty and
suffering experienced by many people outside our borders. While it is widely agreed that something
should be done to help impoverished countries, how to go about that task is not entirely clear. The
consensus of the self described development community (Easterly, 2013) in modern economic
development advocates large scale central planning by experts for development to be applied to a
location. This approach often supports the leadership of benevolent autocrats to put these plans into
action. William Easterly, on the other hand, uses The Tyranny of Experts to present an alternative view
based on four main arguments: (1) the Blank Slate versus learning from history, (2) nations versus
individuals, (3) conscious direction versus spontaneous solutions, and, above all, (4) authoritarian
versus free development (Bradley, 2016). This alternate plan of development from the ground up is a
more effective and natural way of helping raise underdeveloped countries to the standards of richer
nations.
Part three of Easterly s book is dedicated to the idea of learning from history. Many development
experts feel that the best way to plan the future of a nation is to assess its current situation of
production, consumption, available resources, etc. and then plan from there. This may

The Causes of Hyperthyroidism Essay
The thyroid gland is found in the front of the neck and produces two main hormones. The hormones
are called thuroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3). Together these hormones regulate the body s
metabolism by increasing energy use in cells, regulate growth and development, help to maintain body
temperature and aid in oxygen consumption. These two hormones are regulated by hormones
produced by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. The hypothalamus senses changes in body s
metabolic rate and releases a hormone known as thyropin releasing hormone (TRH). This hormone
then flows through connecting vessels to the pituitary gland which signals it to release another
hormone. This hormone is known as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). TSH then makes ... Show

The main cause of hyperthyroidism Graves disease which affects quite a few people in the general
population. This disease is characterized as an autoimmune disorder. This means that the body makes
antibodies known as thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin that bind and over activate the production of
thyroid hormones [3]. So in essence the antibody mimics the thyroid stimulating hormone and when
the negative feedback loop is in affect the antibody still binds to the thyroid and T3 and T4 are over
produced [2].
Thyroid nodules are lumps in the thyroid often called adenomas. These adenomas are quite common
affecting around seven percent our countries population. These lumps on the thyroid can become very
active and thus produce a large amount of thyroid hormone. In some cases hyperthyroidism is brought
on by consuming too much medication that treats an underactive thyroid.
There are many causes of hyperthyroidism, but the symptoms of hyperthyroidism are the same no
matter what causes the over expression of thyroid hormones. The main symptoms of hyperthyroidism
are fatigue, shortness of breath, weak muscles, anxiety, difficulty sleeping and heart palpitations.
Interestingly, even with an increase in appetite the patient will have weight loss.
There are many factors that may increase the risk of acquiring hyperthyroidism. One of the most
important factors is that women are at a much higher risk of developing hyperthyroidism than men,
about ten fold higher risk than

appeared to be the right choice when reviewing research. The sources give an excellent perspective to
Athens democracy and how it could benefit their society. It is important to have sources that support
the topic sentence and can provide a somewhat thorough analysis of whatever points the writer is

American Muscle Car Most car fans love fast and loud sporty cars. Challenger, Camaro, and Mustang
are well known American muscle cars. When we talk about Mustang, Challenger and Camaro,
Mustang is the only true American Muscle car. The reason is that Challenger and Camaro are build in

This year Ford has introduced the new modern looking 2015 Mustang to the car market. I consider the

The massive grills, beautiful try bar pro LED headlights, and the sharp look of the hood give the
Mustang a strong look. Also, it s really attractive than previous years models. Its really long hood,
really really tight cabin with short deck on the rear, impressed me. I think that s what makes the
Mustang a Mustang. Driving the new Mustang really makes you feel like a cowboy. All mustangs
have keyless entry and push start bottom, which ford uses first time on Mustang models. The steering
of the car also has been changed. With quick move you can change your steering to sport, normal, and
comfort modes. The interior of the car looks similar to mustangs in the past but it feels very nice.
Depending on your choice they come with different options. All trims have very nice soft plastic all
around the interiors. The materials are high quality materials; it s not hard plastic as it used to be. I
would say the quality is close to European cars. Mustang is the way to impress the European and
Asian buyers. I think the EcoBoost 2.3 L Mustang will be successful on European market, because of

The Cretaceous Er The Last And Longest Segment Of The...
According to a live science, an article written by Mary Bagley, The Cretaceous Period was the last and
longest segment of the Mesozoic Era. It lasted approximately 79 million years, from the minor
extinction event that closed the Jurassic Period about 145.5 million years ago to the Cretaceous
Paleogene extinction event dated at 65.5 million years ago (Mary Bagley, LS). In the cretaceous
period, the continent of Pangea was still breaking away from itself, forming what we now know as the
seven world continents. In the many eras of dinosaurs, the cretaceous era was responsible for evolving
some, but not all the dinosaurs from full land dinosaurs to some who were able to live both on land
and in water, semi aquatic carnivorous dinosaurs. This era had produced some of the dinosaurs that
maybe us non paleontologist are more familiar with like the all mighty tyrannosaurus rex or the long
neck. Well let me tell you, there were a lot more dinosaurs than just those two. Although the
tyrannosaurs rex was an enormous dinosaur, a bigger dinosaur was discovered in 1912, the
Spinosaurus. This discovery would change peoples, kids, and paleontologists view on which dinosaur
was bigger than the other. This semi aquatic dinosaur, Spinosaurus, was much larger than the T rex
due to its sail like backbones that stuck out of its back. Furthermore, spinosaurus had a huge
advantage that the tyrannosaurus rex did not.
A Paleontologists job is to study their dinosaur discovery, and to tell us

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Terrorism
Introduction: From the outset, the paper makes clarity of the key terms terrorism and media coverage.
According to Magstadt (2009:506) terrorism has been defined in many ways, but the most definitions
take into account several factors including violence s, the desire for publicity, political motive and
intimidation aimed at the civilian populations. Jerkins (n.d.) terrorism is the use or threatened use of
force designed to bring about political change . As depicted from the above definitions activities of
terrorism have gone through premeditation stage, implemented and more to be fulfilled. In 1983 the

Magstadt observed social ills and said any comprehensive theory of terrorism in today s world must
take into account social context including dehumanizing effects of refugee camps or ghettos, youth
unemployment and Western intrusion and first colonization and now globalization. Somewhat today,
social ills are getting complex by the day, the Zimbabwean illegal migration to Botswana and South
Africa, the economic migrants from Middle East to Europe, unemployment, xenophobic attacks, the
ghettos in South Africa and political uprisings in the Arabic world. This environment is good enough
to breed terrorism and Botswana is not an exception to that and that should not come as a surprise
because members of the society are deeply frustrated by many governance issues. Not only the
socially frustrated, those getting richer tend to form terrorism sects too. Was not Osama Bin Laden

Arab and Muslims and Stereotypical labels in Movies
Movies are something that people of all color, religion and race watch. Directors of movies have a big
influence in the way they portray certain kind of people in films. It is obvious that these people have a
motive in bringing down a certain race or religion from the many accounts we see. Arab and Muslims
have been given stereotypical labels and have been looked upon as the monster for many years even
before the September 11th attacks. Film after film you see many incidents were there is someone
doing a terrorist act and people look at these and start to believe this is how things actually are. The
power the media has is unbelievable and over they years you can see they have used there power to
increase stereotypes of Arab Americans. Arabs are represented in Hollywood as the villain, before and
after 9/11 and this has contributed to the to the outlook of Arabs and Muslims in the public sphere.
From the beginning of film making Arabs and Muslims were grouped as one by Hollywood. This is
one of first stereotypes they created. Only one fifth of Arabs in the world are Muslim, and there are
more then 20 million Christian Arabs in the world. It is obvious that Hollywood has a huge impact on
many people. In 2002 alone the total box office sales was more then 9 billion dollars according to the
U.S census. People are watching and people are becoming more and more brainwashed. Plato once

Haitian Revolution Dbq
The Haitian Revolution took place in 1791. One of the main Factors which led to the success of the
revolution is the collapse and the malfunction of the French Monarchy. In France, the revolutionary
government was considering equality. The governor at the time implemented the idea of equality for
all blacks and whites to bend, he also mandated that slavery abolished. Instead of the people of France
agreeing with him they Beheaded him and killed his members. The salves thought that they had been
freed in the Caribbean which resulted in their starting to resist and revolt on the basis that the planter
were hiding their freedom from them. They wanted to be free and not be beaten anymore. Which

He was also very successful in negotiating with the French General Leclerc, who misrepresented
France s orders by attacking L Ouverture and his forces. L Ouverture was able to calmly respond by

advanced diplomatic ability. He also proved advanced military ability by defending cities against
French Gen. Rochambeau. One specific battle was at La Croix, during which L Ouverture fought off
Rochambeau s force which far outnumbered his own (304). Dessalines and Christophe also proved
very capable and they worked cohesively with each other and with L Ouverture . L Ouverture s

effect that he became a heroic figure for anti slavery activism in the U.S. He was described by some
activists in the mid 1800s as being among history s greatest men (Clavin 38). His character became a
symbol of anti slavery idealism and, on a larger scale, of racial equality (35). L Ouverture was proof of
the ability of black men to achieve feats comparable to white men, showing that the races were equal
(38). His success had revolutionary implications because this was the first time a black slave

Why Do People Naturally Resist Change
People Naturally Resist Change
Change is an inevitable, it is difficult to ensure it occurs without any problems to your organization. It
is good to understand that resistance to change is a frequent and natural occurrence. The most
common reasons for resisting change are as follows:
Fear of the unknown.
When an organization is being subjected to change and the people have a hard time grasping the
details of the change. Rarely do they understand the impact on them directly, good or bad. This
unknown factor drives people to be naturally fearful. With this in mind leadership should be prepared
in advance for any such change so as to avoid unnecessary surprises (Jones, 2010).Keep in mind, In

Peer pressure influence.
It is important that we understand are working with all walks of life. The fact remains that we are
social creatures. Stakeholders in the organization will resist change to protect the interests of a group
(Dent, E.B, Goldenberg, 1999). Employees can resist change so as to protect their co workers (Oreg,
2003). I have even see where, Managers will resist change to protect their work group or personal
interest of others around them.
Parochial self interest
Virtually all organizational members can be expected to behave in ways that will maximize those
goals that they personally consider most important (Dent, E.B, Goldenberg, 1999). I feel it is
interesting to note proposals for change are interpreted as a threat to a personal status quo. Individuals
as well as groups are likely to resist usually believe they stand to lose something of value as a result.
In these circumstances the members of your organization will focus on the greater goal only to protect
their own self preservation. More often than not we lose site of the overall good for the organization
and lose focus on the overarching goal. Change often tends to make individuals feel threatened.
People are engraved to protect any disruption to power, money, prestige, convenience, and security
Climate of mistrust.
Important organizational change cannot take place in a climate of mistrust amongst people in the
organization (Jones, 2010). Trust is a two way

Examples Of Shakesspearian Tragedy Othello
As with all of Shakespearian Tragedies, Othello starts as an honorable man who turns into a monster
as the story progresses. Othello was a classic and well known example of a Shakespearian tragedy.
Othello was a tragedy because, like Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and many other of his renowned
tragedies, the protagonist suffers from a fatal flaw which leads to their ultimate and unfortunate
downfall. The main character is also usually a person of great power, wealth, and influence who then
falls into absolute chaos, such was that of Othello in the Shakespearian tragedy. Another important
part of Shakespearian tragedy is the antagonist Iago, who leads Othello down the dark path and
ultimately ruins him. Together these all combine to make Othello s life a very tragic one and mark
Shakespeare s play as a tragedy.
Othello is a true tragic hero, and his demise is caused by his fatal flaw; jealousy. Tragedy depicts the
downfall of a noble hero or heroine, usually through some combination of hubris, fate, and the will of
the gods. (www.ohio.edu/) Othello was considered a noble hero until Iago leads him to believe that his
wife Desdemona was cheating on him with his lieutenant, Cassio. Othello became enraged and his

Comparing Women And Men s Basketball
It is officially basketball season! Do you know what this means? This means crazy fans going topless,
painting their torso one color, incise a letter to spell out their team s name, and excessive screaming. It
is such an interesting atmosphere to be in. However, there is a difference between men and women
basketball. What is the difference? Women and men s basketball are different in so many ways. Even
though their size, athleticism, speed, and strength are comparable they are less competitive, are not
able to reach the same level of stability while men add an interest to the game.

the University of North Carolina (Division 1). The first question I asked both players was, what
motivates you or what drives you? Surprisingly both of their answers were different from the first
question to last. Sade s answer was My teammates , while Kira s answer was To keep my scholarship .
The second question I asked these ladies were, what made you want to compete in collegiate level?
Sade s answer was Playing at this level helps pay for school , while Kira stated It was always a dream
since I was a kid . The third question asked was, would you consider yourself to be a leader on the

question asked was, what steps do you take to improve your experience? Sade responded Practice ,
while Kira stated Constantly in the gym working on things I need to improve on . The fifth question

Essay on Ethanol Energy
Since the invention of the internal combustion engine, car makers and consumers have been filling the
gas tank with just that, gasoline. Starting out with leaded gasoline then slowly switching to unleaded
gas in the late 1960s until catalytic converters, a new auto part which can only run on unleaded, were
made mandatory in 1975. However over the past couple decades there have been a new contender in
the fuel marketplace to power consumers cars. Ethanol is defined in World Book Student as a type of
alcohol found in alcoholic beverages and used as an automobile fuel (Sheehan 1). Sometimes called
ethyl alcohol or grain alcohol, has been an additive to gasoline since its introduction. The purpose was
to reduce dependence on foreign oil, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There has been a steady increase in the price of gasoline since the end of 2008 when there was a major
push for ethanol gasoline blends; which are categorized as E10 (10% ethanol, 90% gasoline) and
blends all the way up to E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline). E85 is the highest amount of ethanol allow
for sale in retail, but, in Brazil E100 (100% ethanol) is everywhere. It is not even possible to buy
regular gasoline in Brazil anymore. The reason the price stays up is because it costs extra to
manufacture ethanol and put it in as an additive. The process of harvesting the corn, (which is the
most popular crop in the United States for ethanol) then paying for all of the machinery/workers tends
to get expensive. The simple process to make gasoline starts with: digging for oil at oil fields, then
either shipping the barrels from other countries or from our oil fields to refineries. The oil is then
refined into gasoline, the different companies then pay to rent pipelines to ship the fuel to terminals.
The closest terminal to Rexburg is in Pocatello; it is then put onto different trucks and sent to different
gas stations within the area of that terminal. Ethanol is a solvent, which means that it will eat through
rubber, plastic, fiberglass, and certain types of metals; so it cannot be shipped with the gasoline
through the pipelines to the terminals. If it was shipped with the fuel in the lines the cleaning
properties of the Ethanol would pick up any water,

There were many technological and sociological innovations that made early China as advanced as it

In 5500, many farming communities were found all around the Wei River Valley and around the

Procurement Planning
Procurement Planning CPMGT302
Kerzner (2009) defines procurement and contracting as the process that involves two parties with
different objectives who interact on a given market segment. (p. 840) As with every phase of project
management, proper planning is key to the success of any project by ensuring the project gets the most

In CPIF contracts the seller is reimbursed for all allowable expenses and receives a fee based upon
achievement of performance objectives. In CPAF contracts the seller is reimbursed for legitimate

contracts are a hybrid as they contain aspects of both fixed price and cost reimbursable contracts. This
contract type is used when it is impossible to estimate accurately the extent or duration of the
contracted work. Time and material contract represents the highest risk to the buyer. Outputs Outputs
of the procurement planning process include the procurement management plan, procurement
statements of work, make or buy decisions, procurement documents, source selection criteria, and
change requests to the project management plan. Procurement statements of work (SOW) are the most
valuable output of the plan procurement process. These documents directly correlate to the project
scope baseline and specify the portion of the project scope to be included in any related contract. The
SOW allows perspective sellers to determine if they are capable of provided for the needs of the

Celebrity and Image Selling
Musicians, actors, athletes, and models all depend on publicity from the media. Promotions through
magazines, newspapers, concerts, movies, CD s, sports networks and social media determine their
success. Not only do the musicians, actors, athletes, and models depend on social media, but also on
the fans. The media allows the public to be involved and interested in what s happening in different
aspects of celebrity entertainment. The influence the media has on celebrity and image selling is very
effective in producing successful careers.
Musicians are one of many aspects of entertainment that are impacted by the media. Possibly the
biggest shift in music has come through social media through an increased level of interaction
between musicians and fans (Evans). Now that we have social media it benefits the artist and the fans.
The artist is able to broadcast, promote and share things that were not possible before. An example of
this would be the artist can share their latest news, achievements or plans with their fans. The fans are
able to keep up with the artist, be more interactive with them and communicate with them better. An
example of this would be they can message , leave comments, or watch videos of the celebrity. These
are just some of the ways that the media has impacted the music industry.
Not only does the media help the music industry connect with their fans but it also

Bronfenbrenner s Bioecological Model Analysis
The television drama known as Grey s Anatomy follows several doctors on their joint and individual
journeys from surgical interns to residents and then to attendings. The main character is Doctor
Meredith Grey, the daughter of famous heart surgeon Ellis Grey. Meredith s time on the show reveals
her constant struggle to reconcile her own abilities with her mother s legacy and explores how the past
continues to affect the present long after its conclusion. Bronfenbrenner s bioecological model
explores the relationship between a child s environment and that child s development. In his theory,
Urie Bronfenbrenner defines several layers that make up the overall system in which the child
functions. These layers are known as the Microsystem, Mesosystem, Exosystem, Macrosystem, and
Chronosystem. Each of these layers plays a role in influencing the development of the child as well as
each other and the child, in turn, has an impact on these layers. This process is referred to as a bi
directional influence. The actions of the parent affect the behavior and beliefs of the child while the

obedience, conformity, behaviour and decision making. Social psychology is the study of how people

In this experiment, an oxygen measuring probe was attached to an oxygen chamber in order to
quantify oxygen consumption rate, which served as a substitute measure for metabolic rate. The
oxygen measuring probe provided real time measurements of dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration
present in the chamber water. The oxygen chamber was sealed to create a closed system so that over
time, the oxygen levels would decrease as the goldfish respired and consumed the oxygen present in
the water. The software LoggerLite was used to record real time DO concentration measurements. The
procedure for this experiment followed the steps as shown in the flow chart (Figure 1) and will be
expanded upon here. The oxygen measuring probe in the test chamber was first turned on and required
10 minutes to warm up. During this time, two empty containers had 200mL of fish water added to
them and then each was weighed using a scale that was tared to zero before use. Two pairs of goldfish
were then collected from the large tank #1 in the lab room using the fish net provided, and one pair
was placed in each container. Then, the containers were reweighed separately and the original weights

Offer and Acceptance
Without offer and acceptance there can be no contract and so it is essential that the law provides rules
to identify what constitutes both an offer and an acceptance. An offer may be defined as a statement of
willingness to contract on specified terms made with the intention that, if accepted, it shall become a
binding contract. An offer may be express or implied from conduct. In many cases it is crucial to
determine when and where a contract is actually formed and this too needs rules. In the vast majority
of contracts these rules do not prove difficult to explain or complicated to apply but in some areas
there is confusion. Initially there can be significant problems in identifying what an offer actually is.

an individual s DNA. They can be used to determine predisposition for various disorders such as

Despite their benefits for individual and public health, genetic screenings can lead to social stigma
against those with genetic disorders. Since the introduction of mass genetic tests, there has been a
legal debate about whether or not to release information about an individual s screening results. On
one side of the debate are those who argue that the data from genetic screenings can be used to benefit
public health through the development and improvement of treatments and public health policy
(Hodge, 2004). However, a prominent opposing side to this debate has focused on the potential for
social and even ethnic quarantine if the results of screenings are made public (Atkin, 2003). Though
there is a consensus that genetic screening is beneficial in preventing and treating diseases and poor
health, many worry that releasing their results can lead to social stigma for individuals of certain
minorities simply because of their greater susceptibility to certain health problems (Natowicz and
Alper, 1991). Ethnic discrimination has indeed proved to be a legitimate issue in regards to genetic
screenings; for example, in the 1990s several states did not allow African American individuals to wed
until they proved that they did not have sickle cell anemia. Opponents of publicly mandated genetic

Advantages Of The Jury System
The jury system of a trial is an essential element of the democratic process. Some people think that the
American jury system is not a good thing because you are going off other peoples opinions, on the
other hand people think it is a good thing because they say that is a fair way to make a decision in
court. A jury group is a group of citizens which hears the testimony in legal disputes and determines
what it believes is the truth. In court, we settle criminal law, and civil law cases with jury members to
help. I personally think that the American jury system is still a good and helpful thing to use.
One reason why I think the jury system is still a good thing to use during a court case is that, normal
citizens get called to a trial, decide on a case, and try to persuade the judge about whether or not the
defendant is guilty or innocent. Another good thing is that none of the reasoning is biased, which
means all of the facts/reasoning the jury members are giving isn t opinionated. People that have
observed jury systems say that it has remarked the ability to help ordinary citizens into self governors
and get involved in civic participation. The trial by jury process puts the people in control. The people
have ultimate control in the legislative and executive branches. (Doc C)
In some cases, the jury system being what they use can be debatable. I think it is always what you
should use to determine if the defendant is guilty or innocent during a trial. The jury system

How Do Early Theories Explain How Children Develop Their...
Hi Tom, there are many theories that try to explain that how children develop their language skills.
From my perspective, I believe that early theories have provided a good understanding of children and
their progress. In early theories, the environment was said to greatly influence a child s learning and
also played a major role in child language developments. According to Skinner, children learn
language based on behaviorist reinforcement principles by associating words with meanings. Correct
utterances are positively reinforced when the child realizes the communicative value of words and
phrases. For example, when the child says milk and the mother will smile and give her some as a
result, the child will find this outcome rewarding, enhancing the child s language development (1).
I think that early theories are a perfect way to explain how a child develops their language skills.
However, Noam Chomsky has heavily criticized early child development theories. Chomsky has
proposed that the theory of Universal Grammar can improve our understanding of childhood
development. According to Chomsky, Universal Grammar is an idea of innate, biological grammatical
categories, such as a noun category and a verb category that facilitate the entire language development
in children and overall language processing in adults. Universal Grammar is considered to contain all
the grammatical information needed to combine these categories, e.g. noun and verb, into phrases. The

Essay on My Personal Philosophy of Education
Philosophy of Education
Relating my reasons for becoming a teacher was not a very difficult task for me; to accomplish this
task I simply needed to reflect upon and describe some of my own personal experiences. I relied
basically upon my memories and thoughts about my own educational experiences. However,
describing my philosophy of education was much more difficult task for me to accomplish. First of
all, before I could properly describe my philosophy, I realized I needed a working definition of the
concept of philosophy. My search for this working definition of the term philosophy led to further
research which provided further insight into viewpoints of various well known philosophers; some of
whom we discussed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Down through the years as I played basketball, I had many different coaches and I can easily describe
these coaches by placing them within two broad categories.
In the first category were the true teacher/coaches and in the second were the true sports
enthusiast/coaches. The differences between these two categories of coaches were easy for me to
identify and, to now describe. The coaches who were true teacher/coaches sometimes were not
certified to teach professionally, but their personalities and styles of coaching were what identified
them to me as true teacher/coaches. The true teacher/coaches were not only interested in how well I
performed on the basketball court; they were interested in me as whole person. They strongly
emphasized the importance of academics and always encouraged me to do well academically, and also
to develop my other talents. These true teacher/coaches greatly influenced and will continue to
influence my decision to become a teacher. I will strive to model myself as a teacher after some of
these true teacher/coaches that I was fortunate enough to have.
Additionally, someday I also want to coach other young people in the skills needed in the game of
basketball and also in the skills needed for learning and living as my true teacher/coaches coached me.
In addition to encouraging me to do well in all areas, these coaches also emphasized the importance of

Resurgence Of Vinyl And Its Effects
Keith Kain COMM 481 12/1/14 Resurgence of Vinyl If one were to mention vinyl records in a
conversation today, they would likely be met with confusion and laughter. Vinyl records, like other
relics from the past, are not often thought of when discussing music listening in 2014. Like cassettes
and CD s, vinyl is frequently viewed as a remnant of a time when paying for music was mandatory
and buying an album meant buying the whole album. However, for some listeners in 2014, this format
is their preferred method of hearing their favorite music. Due to the nature of niche markets, it isn t
very stunning that some collectors still delve into the past and listen on vinyl. However, it is extremely
unusual for a niche market to increase in sales quite like vinyl has. In fact, from 2008 to 2014, vinyl
sales have increased by 745%. In a time when music sales as a whole are dropping, how did vinyl go
from selling less than one million records 20 years ago, to selling 6.1 million in 2013 alone? There are
plenty of factors, including what is selling, who is buying, the tangibility factor, and the antipiracy
counterculture. Vinyl records were one of the main formats to listen to music during most of the 1900
s. Many of those who listened to vinyl in the late 1900 s are still collecting vinyl today, or have passed
down the hobby to their children. Nostalgic collectors will claim that the surface noise and warm
audio quality of vinyl makes it unique and unmatched. However, as new

  • 2. College Education Worth The Cost College Education Worth the Cost What you guys think does College Education Worth the Cost? In the article The Wall Street Journal edited by Riley, she said that a college education does not worth the cost. Again, she claims that most of the colleges are doing their business, they did not care about the student (Riley). Those types of colleges have lack serious core curriculum, they did not know their responsibility towards the student. Moreover, I will not support the Riley argument because I am going to support the article college is still worth the expenses, written by Justin Draeger. College education worth the cost from different ways. All college student does not have same aims to attain college. After high school some students have no any ideas what to do next. Those students just attain college, make friends and get some idea from them than only they decided what to do in life. Some of them continue college education and some of them find another field in which they are interested than only they start their journey. In this research essay I am going to argue college education worth the cost in several ways such as: Earning a college degree is all about opening up opportunities in life, being educated person, and getting better career opportunities. College worth the cost because earning a college degree open up opportunities in everyone s life. In this world, education becomes necessary not only important. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Blindness In Cathedral By Raymond Carver Looking But Not Seeing The title of the story Cathedral by Raymond Carver is a far cry from the themes that run through the story. Naturally, one would expect the story to centre on worship but it does not only mentioning it in passing. Admittedly, one of the themes that clearly come out of the story is an apparent blindness of the narrator who though physically had sight could not see the deeper things in life. On the other hand, Robert, the physically blind man was very insightful able to appreciate the beauty of life. Robert, the blind man finally assists the narrator to see through drawing of the cathedral. Blindness An interesting development in the story is the narrator s apparent blindness though he possessed good eye sight. The narrator views blindness as a serious limitation and could not bring himself to a point of imagining that he will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that the narrator s wife could trust him, to pour out her emotional turmoil was a clear indication to this. It can be safely said that Robert s responses to the narrator s wife kept her strong and made her overcome her challenges. Another interesting character of the blind man was his keen desire to learn new things. After all, the smoking of cannabis was his first time. Undoubtedly, the story captures the narrator as a person who is very cold in his associations with people. The description of the wedding between Robert and Beulah as not worth attending by anyone is utter insensitivity on his part. Further, the way he describes the blind man s eyes is very distasteful, As I stared at his face, I saw the left pupil turn in toward his nose while the other made an effort to keep in one place... • 4. Mr. Hindley s Death Of The Funeral Mr. Hindley came home to the funeral; and a thing that amazed us, and set the neighbours gossiping right and left he brought a wife with him. What she was, and where she was born, he never informed us: probably, she had neither money nor name to recommend her, or he would scarcely have kept the union from his father. She was not one that would have disturbed the house much on her own account. Every object she saw, the moment she crossed the threshold, appeared to delight her; and every circumstance that took place about her: except the preparing for the burial, and the presence of the mourners. I thought she was half silly, from her behaviour while that went on: she ran into her chamber, and made me come with her, though I should have been dressing the children: and there she sat shivering and clasping her hands, and asking repeatedly Are they gone yet? Then she began describing with hysterical emotion the effect it produced on her to see black; and started, and trembled, and, at last, fell a weeping and when I asked what was the matter, answered, she didn t know; but she felt so afraid of dying! I imagined her as little likely to die as myself. She was rather thin, but young, and fresh complexioned, and her eyes sparkled as bright as diamonds. I did remark, to be sure, that mounting the stairs made her breathe very quick; that the least sudden noise set her all in a quiver, and that she coughed troublesomely sometimes: but I knew nothing of what these symptoms portended, ... • 5. Argumentative Essay On Organic Food Organic Foods The topic of being healthy is currently trending in our world right now. Everyone wants to follow the idea and live some form of a healthy lifestyle. Along being healthy, there is the demand of eating healthy; which is not always easy. There are so many types of food to consider, that it is almost overwhelming to search for healthy options. These options can range from yogurt to granola or even the type of carrots we choose, especially when there are different forms of farming methods for our vegetables. These methods of farming include conventional farming or organic farming. The difference? Simple, one requires the use of harmful fertilizers and pesticides; the other does not. Therefore, when it comes to deciding on the right vegetables for your health, organically grown food is your best option, here s why. First of all, the counter argument needs to be addressed. Many argue that there is not a significant difference between organic and conventional foods. Disagreements often sound like, There is very little scientific evidence to support any health benefits for organic products (Andrei). Opponents of organic food have argued that it is too expensive and not at all worth the high price. They state that Organic has become a synonym for luxury (Andrei). Many are choosing to eat organic simply because they can afford it. My body is still for a second as I use all my concentration to make it obey. But then my control slips and the tic, tic, tic begins again. I was officially diagnosed with Tourette s Syndrome in 8th grade, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary movements called tics. I tic about every twenty seconds, which means thousands of times a day my muscles twitch and jerk, causing pain and fatigue. My tics are not as severe as some, but it is embarrassing to give a presentation in class when I know will pause and stutter through much of it. University of Colorado Denver, Aurora, Colorado. Abstract The role of aldosterone has expanded from the hormone s genomic effects that involve renal sodium transport to nongenomic effects that are independent of the effect of aldosterone on sodium transport. The nongenomic effects of aldosterone to increase fibrosis, collagen deposition, inflammation, and remodeling of the heart and blood vessels, however, are markedly increased in the presence of high sodium intake. The genomic effect of aldosterone increases renal sodium transport, but the administration of large doses of aldosterone to normal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Diabetic patients with ACS derive a greater benefit from established therapies, particularly platelet inhibiting therapies, including clopidogrel pretreatment, and glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor use. Recent data show intense ADP P2Y12 platelet receptor inhibition with prasugrel is of particular clinical value in the diabetic patient with ACS, without excessive bleeding. Diabetic patients with ACS also benefit more from aggressive revascularization strategies. Recent data show the benefit of drug eluting stents in the setting of primary percutaneous coronary intervention for ST segment elevation myocardial infarction in decreasing target vessel revascularization up to 2 years, particularly in patients at highest risk for restenosis with bare metal stents (likely diabetic patients). • 8. Spirited Away By Hayao Miyazaki Spirited Away In Spirited Away, Hayao Miyazaki introduces a young girl named Chihiro. She s brought into the Spirit World through the curiosity and greediness of her parents. Miyazaki makes her life problematic because of the simple nature of humans. He realizes that the different negative characteristics that humans have within them lead them to trouble, even children. He claims that I m not going to make movies that tell children, You should despair and run away . (Hayao Miyazaki Quotes) With this in mind, Miyazaki attempts to show children that they re capable of overcoming problems even at the young age that they re at. Within the spirit world, the apparitions have negative plans for humans, specifically for the future of Chihiro. As if it wasn t enough for him to put the young girl in a setting with Spirits/Ghosts, he makes it so that these apparitions have negative plans in mind for the humans that they come in contact with. Miyazaki does this in order to put Chihiro in a situation that the audience would see as extremely difficult. He then adds onto Chihiro s circumstances by creating a complex environment that she has to live in while she s in the spirit world. He places her in an spa/inn run by a deranged woman who cares more for her gigantic baby than the spa/inn itself. Miyazaki planned and created many different angles of the building in order to depict to the audience the type of situation that Chihiro is to be put in. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

World With The Advanced Technology In a world with the advanced technology, groundbreaking medical procedures, fine dining, and luxury that this modern reality has to offer, it is often difficult to understand the extreme poverty and suffering experienced by many people outside our borders. While it is widely agreed that something should be done to help impoverished countries, how to go about that task is not entirely clear. The consensus of the self described development community (Easterly, 2013) in modern economic development advocates large scale central planning by experts for development to be applied to a location. This approach often supports the leadership of benevolent autocrats to put these plans into action. William Easterly, on the other hand, uses The Tyranny of Experts to present an alternative view based on four main arguments: (1) the Blank Slate versus learning from history, (2) nations versus individuals, (3) conscious direction versus spontaneous solutions, and, above all, (4) authoritarian versus free development (Bradley, 2016). This alternate plan of development from the ground up is a more effective and natural way of helping raise underdeveloped countries to the standards of richer nations. Part three of Easterly s book is dedicated to the idea of learning from history. Many development experts feel that the best way to plan the future of a nation is to assess its current situation of production, consumption, available resources, etc. and then plan from there. • 10. The Causes of Hyperthyroidism Essay The thyroid gland is found in the front of the neck and produces two main hormones. The hormones are called thuroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3). Together these hormones regulate the body s metabolism by increasing energy use in cells, regulate growth and development, help to maintain body temperature and aid in oxygen consumption. These two hormones are regulated by hormones produced by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. The hypothalamus senses changes in body s metabolic rate and releases a hormone known as thyropin releasing hormone (TRH). This hormone then flows through connecting vessels to the pituitary gland which signals it to release another hormone. This hormone is known as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). TSH then makes ... Thyroid nodules are lumps in the thyroid often called adenomas. These adenomas are quite common affecting around seven percent our countries population. These lumps on the thyroid can become very active and thus produce a large amount of thyroid hormone. In some cases hyperthyroidism is brought on by consuming too much medication that treats an underactive thyroid. There are many causes of hyperthyroidism, but the symptoms of hyperthyroidism are the same no matter what causes the over expression of thyroid hormones. The main symptoms of hyperthyroidism are fatigue, shortness of breath, weak muscles, anxiety, difficulty sleeping and heart palpitations. E85 is the highest amount of ethanol allow for sale in retail, but, in Brazil E100 (100% ethanol) is everywhere. It is not even possible to buy regular gasoline in Brazil anymore. The reason the price stays up is because it costs extra to manufacture ethanol and put it in as an additive. The simple process to make gasoline starts with: digging for oil at oil fields, then either shipping the barrels from other countries or from our oil fields to refineries. The closest terminal to Rexburg is in Pocatello; it is then put onto different trucks and sent to different gas stations within the area of that terminal. In CPAF contracts the seller is reimbursed for legitimate costs, but most of the fee is base upon the subjective satisfaction of the buyer. Time and material contracts are a hybrid as they contain aspects of both fixed price and cost reimbursable contracts. This contract type is used when it is impossible to estimate accurately the extent or duration of the contracted work. Time and material contract represents the highest risk to the buyer. Outputs Outputs of the procurement planning process include the procurement management plan, procurement statements of work, make or buy decisions, procurement documents, source selection criteria, and change requests to the project management plan. Procurement statements of work (SOW) are the most valuable output of the plan procurement process. These documents directly correlate to the project scope baseline and specify the portion of the project scope to be included in any related contract. The SOW allows perspective sellers to determine if they are capable of provided for the needs of the contract before they bid, thus eliminating time and effort wasted for both the buyer and seller. • 28. Bronfenbrenner s Bioecological Model Analysis The television drama known as Grey s Anatomy follows several doctors on their joint and individual journeys from surgical interns to residents and then to attendings. The main character is Doctor Meredith Grey, the daughter of famous heart surgeon Ellis Grey. Meredith s time on the show reveals her constant struggle to reconcile her own abilities with her mother s legacy and explores how the past continues to affect the present long after its conclusion. Bronfenbrenner s bioecological model explores the relationship between a child s environment and that child s development. In his theory, Urie Bronfenbrenner defines several layers that make up the overall system in which the child functions. These layers are known as the Microsystem, Mesosystem, Exosystem, Macrosystem, and Chronosystem. Each of these layers plays a role in influencing the development of the child as well as each other and the child, in turn, has an impact on these layers. • 30. Goldfish Lab Report In this experiment, an oxygen measuring probe was attached to an oxygen chamber in order to quantify oxygen consumption rate, which served as a substitute measure for metabolic rate. The oxygen measuring probe provided real time measurements of dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration present in the chamber water. The oxygen chamber was sealed to create a closed system so that over time, the oxygen levels would decrease as the goldfish respired and consumed the oxygen present in the water. The software LoggerLite was used to record real time DO concentration measurements. The procedure for this experiment followed the steps as shown in the flow chart (Figure 1) and will be expanded upon here. The oxygen measuring probe in the test chamber was first turned on and required 10 minutes to warm up. During this time, two empty containers had 200mL of fish water added to them and then each was weighed using a scale that was tared to zero before use. Two pairs of goldfish were then collected from the large tank #1 in the lab room using the fish net provided, and one pair was placed in each container. Then, the containers were reweighed separately and the original weights were subtracted from the new weights in order to determine each pair of goldfish s weight. Two trials were conducted and in each trial, each goldfish pair was subjected to two conditions, first a control condition where no factors were introduced, followed by an experimental condition where they were exposed ... An offer may be express or implied from conduct. In many cases it is crucial to determine when and where a contract is actually formed and this too needs rules. Despite their benefits for individual and public health, genetic screenings can lead to social stigma against those with genetic disorders. Since the introduction of mass genetic tests, there has been a legal debate about whether or not to release information about an individual s screening results. On one side of the debate are those who argue that the data from genetic screenings can be used to benefit public health through the development and improvement of treatments and public health policy (Hodge, 2004). However, a prominent opposing side to this debate has focused on the potential for social and even ethnic quarantine if the results of screenings are made public (Atkin, 2003). Though there is a consensus that genetic screening is beneficial in preventing and treating diseases and poor health, many worry that releasing their results can lead to social stigma for individuals of certain minorities simply because of their greater susceptibility to certain health problems (Natowicz and Alper, 1991). Ethnic discrimination has indeed proved to be a legitimate issue in regards to genetic screenings; for example, in the 1990s several states did not allow African American individuals to wed until they proved that they did not have sickle cell anemia. • 39. Advantages Of The Jury System The jury system of a trial is an essential element of the democratic process. Some people think that the American jury system is not a good thing because you are going off other peoples opinions, on the other hand people think it is a good thing because they say that is a fair way to make a decision in court. A jury group is a group of citizens which hears the testimony in legal disputes and determines what it believes is the truth. In court, we settle criminal law, and civil law cases with jury members to help. I personally think that the American jury system is still a good and helpful thing to use. One reason why I think the jury system is still a good thing to use during a court case is that, normal citizens get called to a trial, decide on a case, and try to persuade the judge about whether or not the defendant is guilty or innocent. Another good thing is that none of the reasoning is biased, which means all of the facts/reasoning the jury members are giving isn t opinionated. People that have observed jury systems say that it has remarked the ability to help ordinary citizens into self governors and get involved in civic participation. The trial by jury process puts the people in control. The people have ultimate control in the legislative and executive branches. • 40. How Do Early Theories Explain How Children Develop Their... Hi Tom, there are many theories that try to explain that how children develop their language skills. From my perspective, I believe that early theories have provided a good understanding of children and their progress. In early theories, the environment was said to greatly influence a child s learning and also played a major role in child language developments. According to Skinner, children learn language based on behaviorist reinforcement principles by associating words with meanings. Correct utterances are positively reinforced when the child realizes the communicative value of words and phrases. For example, when the child says milk and the mother will smile and give her some as a result, the child will find this outcome rewarding, enhancing the child s language development (1). I think that early theories are a perfect way to explain how a child develops their language skills. However, Noam Chomsky has heavily criticized early child development theories. Chomsky has proposed that the theory of Universal Grammar can improve our understanding of childhood development. According to Chomsky, Universal Grammar is an idea of innate, biological grammatical categories, such as a noun category and a verb category that facilitate the entire language development in children and overall language processing in adults. Universal Grammar is considered to contain all the grammatical information needed to combine these categories, e.g. noun and verb, into phrases. The child s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vinyl records, like other relics from the past, are not often thought of when discussing music listening in 2014. Like cassettes and CD s, vinyl is frequently viewed as a remnant of a time when paying for music was mandatory and buying an album meant buying the whole album. However, for some listeners in 2014, this format is their preferred method of hearing their favorite music. Due to the nature of niche markets, it isn t very stunning that some collectors still delve into the past and listen on vinyl. However, it is extremely unusual for a niche market to increase in sales quite like vinyl has. In fact, from 2008 to 2014, vinyl sales have increased by 745%. In a time when music sales as a whole are dropping, how did vinyl go from selling less than one million records 20 years ago, to selling 6.1 million in 2013 alone? There are plenty of factors, including what is selling, who is buying, the tangibility factor, and the antipiracy counterculture. Vinyl records were one of the main formats to listen to music during most of the 1900 s.
