The list of potential pro inflammatory cytokines important in the pathogenesis of RA and other
autoimmune and inflammatory diseases has been extended by another cytokine interleukin IL 23. This
cytokine plays a potential role in immune modulation of different subpopulations of T helper (Th)
cells in concert with IL 12 (Lupardus and Garcia, 2008).
IL 23 is a pro inflammatory cytokine belonging to the IL 12 cytokine family. IL 23 is essential for the
differentiation of Th17 lymphocytes, a subtype of T lymphocyte implicated in chronic
inflammatory/autoimmune mediated diseases (Guo et al., 2013).
IL 23 is produced by several types of antigen presenting cells such as macrophages and denderitic
cells. IL 23 is found in the skin of patients with psoriasis, in the bowel of patients with chronic
inflammatory bowel disease and in synovial membrane of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. IL 23 is
involved in osteoclastogenesis, independently from IL 17, via induction of RANKL expression.
Debate continues to surround the role of IL 23 in the pathophysiology of inflammatory joint diseases
(rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis) (Duvallet et al., 2011).
Reports have indicated that in humans increased levels of IL 23 are associated with the several
autoimmune diseases including RA, Lyme arthritis, inflammatory bowel

3. A Contract Of Employment Contract
A contract of employment is a type of a contract used in labor law to attribute rights and
responsibilities between parties to a contract (Blum, 2007). On the one end stands an employee who is
employed by an employer . A written employment contract is a document that someone and their
employee sign which sets forth the terms and conditions of the employment relationship (Tepper,
2011). Many rules, exceptions and considerations apply when dealing with employment contracts.
Suppose that the Fabulous Hotel hires you as head chef under a two year employment contract. After
two years, another hotel wants to hire you. However, in the original employment contract you signed
with the fabulous Hotel, the following paragraph appears: The below signed agrees not to work as a
chef for another hotel in the same metropolitan area for a period of two years after leaving our employ.
First, it is crucial to know and understand which law governs the employment contract. According to
Seaquist, contract law is governed by the common law or the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)
(Seaquist, 2012). If the contract handles the sales of goods, it is governed by the UCC (Seaquist,
2012). If the contract handles anything besides the sale of goods (such as real estate, insurance,
personal services like employment, etc.) then it is governed by the common law (Seaquist, 2012).
When a business or employer hires an employee to join the staff, the employee enters into a contract

Frontline Reports on One of Americas most Dangerous Companies
A Reaction Paper
Frontline with the New York Times reports on one of the largest iron pipe foundry companies,
McWanes Tyler Pipe, and the problem with the company. McWane Inc. was founded by J.R. McWane
in 1921 on the desolate Birmingham Alabama soil. J.R built his water and sewage pipe manufacturing
corporation to now one of the biggest privately owned companies in the nation. Creating water and
sewage pipe by melting metal and casting pipe can be very dangerous and dirty if not handled with the
right process and procedures. However, the workers say that the company ruthlessly tries to increase
production by costing the safety of its workers and has succeeded at this with what McWanes calls
disciplined management practices . This disgusting fact has lead the company to accumulate an
abnormal amount of safety violations that include around 4,600 injuries and 9 deaths. The sad part
about all this is most of the misfortunes have happened in the past couple decades when new age
management and safety practices should have been a top most priority.
Why can t the McWane Corporation get it into their heads that worker safety needs to be a priority?
McWanes top competitor, American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO), lives by the rule of worker
safety and is still making a large profit while being one of the top companies to work for in the nation.

7. Descartes Myth-Gilbert Ryle
Gilbert Ryleâs The Concept of Mind
Gilbert Ryle (1900 76) was a philosopher who taught at Oxford and who made important
contributions to the philosophy of mind and to ordinary language philosophy. His most important
writings included Philosophical Arguments (1945), The Concept of Mind (1949), Dilemmas (1954),
Plato s Progress (1966), and On Thinking (1979).
The Concept of Mind (1949) is a critique of the notion that the mind is distinct from the body, and it is
a rejection of the theory that mental states are separable from physical states. According to Ryle, the
classical theory of mind, as represented by Cartesian rationalism, asserts that there is a basic
distinction between mind and matter. However, the classical theory makes a ... Show more content on

Thus, the mind consists of various abilities or dispositions that explain such behaviors as learning,
remembering, knowing, feeling, or willing. However, personal abilities or dispositions are not the
same as mental processes or events. To refer to abilities or dispositions as if they are mental
occurrences is to make a basic kind of category mistake.
The nature of a personâs motives may be defined by the actions and reactions of that person in
various circumstances or situations. The nature of a person s motives in a particular situation may not
necessarily be determined by any hidden mental processes or intellectual acts within that person.
Motives may be revealed or explained by a personâs behavior in a situation.
Ryle criticizes the theory that the mind is a place where mental images are apprehended, perceived, or
remembered. Sensations, thoughts, and feelings do not belong to a mental world distinct from the
physical world. Knowledge, memory, imagination, and other abilities or dispositions do not reside
within the mind as if the mind were a space in which these dispositions could be situated or located.
Furthermore, dispositions are not the same as behavioral actions; actions may, however, be explained
by dispositions.
Dispositions are neither visible nor hidden, because they are not in the same logical category as
behavioral actions. Dispositions are not mental processes or intellectual

8. Extra-Mitochondrial Family Structure
Many physiological processes in the cells require the participation of both intra and extra
mitochondrial enzyme reactions. A link between mitochondria and cytosol is provided by a group of
proteins known as the mitochondrial carriers (MCs) family (Arco Satrustegui, 2005; F. Palmieri,
2004). MCs comprise a family of about 40 50 proteins, depending on the organism, and provide the
main communication between mitochondrial matrix and extra mitochondrial spaces by transporting a
wide range of metabolites, nucleotides and cofactors. In humans, MCs are encoded by the nuclear
SLC25 family genes and are membrane embedded proteins that have to be imported into the i.m.m. (F.
Palmieri, 2004). MCs are structurally related proteins of about 30 KDa that shared a tripartite structure
with six hydrophobic domains. The analysis of the mitochondrial ADP/ATP carrier sequence, the first
primary structure of a mitochondrial solute carrier to be reported (Aquila et al., 1982), established that
the whole structure, of around 300 amino acids, could be divided into three tandemly repeated
homologous domains, each of about 100 residues in length (Saraste Walker, 1982) (Fig.1).
Subsequently, this pattern of homologous repeats was also observed in the UCP1 carrier (Aquila et al.,
1985), in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

4.1 Research Approaches
One of the questions that an organization must decide before conducting research is which research
approach will be most appropriate. The approach chosen will depend on the research question and the
type of information is seeking. There are three general research approaches; descriptive, exploratory
and causal (Kolb, 2008).
.
Descriptive research
Descriptive research is used when statistical data are needed on a fact. The tool used to conduct
descriptive research is almost always surveys (Kolb, 2008).
Exploratory research
Researchers should use exploratory research when a research question deals with finding information
on consumer attitudes, opinions and beliefs. Such exploratory research can be useful even when ...

shelves. On the other hand, Shiny Provision is attributed to having messy shelves, poor signage, no

13. The Oedipal Complex Literary Analysis
Many stories include a child who vies for their parent(s) attention. One being, Oedipus, by Sophocles,
where Oedipus rivals his father, who he believes is a stranger, to gain the attention of his wife/mother.
The idea of a child, mostly boys, trying to gain their parent(s) (who tend to be a mother more often
than a father) attention is known as The Oedipal Complex , created by Sigmund Freud. The Oedipal
Complex , is a theory of a developing of feelings a boy develops towards his mother. He then is
against his father, or another male figure with his mother, and has jealousy or anger towards the man.
Eventually the boy tries to rival the man for attention from his mother. The Oedipal Complex is very
prominent in the short story, The Rocking Horse Winner , written by DH Lawerence. One of the
protagonists, Paul, develops the idea in which he should raise money for his mother, since she
considers herself unlucky . The mother, Hester, believes she is unlucky because herself and her
husband work low income jobs which are unable to support their lavish tastes. Therefore, Paul is
introduced to horse racing by his gardener, Basset, who bids on who he believes will win the races.
Paul tells Basset who he wants to bid on, and Basset would go and put the bid down for Paul. One day
Paul was discussing his connection with his gardener with his Uncle Oscar. His Uncle Oscar took Paul
to his first race, they both bidded on Daffodil, who won the race, afterwards Uncle Oscar is included

16. The Recession Of A Recession
Economical term recession means a significant decrease in activity across the economy, which last
longer than few months. This phenomenon is visible in employment, wholesale retail trade, and
others. The recession is considered a normal part of the business cycle. Nevertheless, a one time crisis
can trigger the onset of a recession. The global recession through 2007 to 2009 resulted in significant
breakdowns to practically all the developed and developing countries. In order to prevent a future
financial crisis, numerous government policies were enforced. A recession usually last 6 to 18 months
and interest rate fall to stimulate the economy. During a recession, people tend not to spend, borrow,
but to save money because of a fall in confidence. The government initiates an expansionary fiscal
policy which involves increasing stimulus government spending and cutting taxes. However, the
question is can increased stimulus spending help end the recession. The first article, Increased
Stimulus Spending Can Help End the Recession by Lawrence H. Summers, argues that for a
successful economic recovery, the US government must pursue measures that increase confidence,
borrowing, and spending (Summers 1). Summers alleges that the reason why recession keeps on is
because of lack of demand. An increase in spending to increase demand is the cure, even though too
much spending was part of a cause in recession. Summers defined a recession as:

The Missouri Compromise of 1820
The Missouri Compromise of 1820 helped to mend the relationship between the north and south. All
the states in the Union were in an argument over what the new states should be free or slave states.
With the conflict steadily rising a congressman came up with a solution to alleviate the tension. This
compromise set the tone for the rest of the civil rights time period. It ended after holding peace for a
few decades. The Missouri Compromise of 1820 relieved the intensity of the problems between free

However, to balance out the political power, Maine, who had wanted to be its own state for some time
now, would be added as a free state. The second part of the compromise was that an imaginary line
would be drawn along the southern border of Missouri. This imaginary line would become the
dividing line between free and slave states in the North and South and be known as the 36° 30° line.
The North would not be allowed to have slaves, and the South would have slaves. Both sides were
okay with the Compromise because both sides benefitted from it. The Compromise was finally
approved by President James Monroe on March 6, 1820. The signing of this document change slavery
in the United States. The peace from this Compromise in the states lasted for nearly three decades.
The Compromise of 1820 changed a lot of things about new states entering the Union. With westward
movement being such a big deal during this time frame, it created a few complications. Starting out, in
theory, it was a good idea. However, All the new states would be divided into 2 factions based on their
beliefs on slavery. Where you lived determined what your view on slaves and how you felt about
slavery.
The Compromise only lasted a few decades before complications arose. At the start, a free state was
admitted for every slave state that was admitted, and vice versa. California violated this when they

Because of the Comstock Law of 1873, the mailing of information regarding contraception or devices
to perform contraceptive techniques was prohibited. This was a major obstacle for Margaret Sanger
and Planned Parenthood. As a result of the 1936 court case U.S. v. One Package, the mailing of
contraceptive related materials among physicians was legalized (Planned Parenthood). This turning
point signified that contraceptives were finally beginning to be regarded as an important area of
medicine. The mailing of contraceptive material to married couples and single adults was not legalized

Margaret Sanger s hard work to legalize and promote contraception was rooted in her belief that those

of her character, where she is no longer a naĂŻve young girl, who does everything her parents command
her to do. We see her as an independent and sophisticated married woman. Act 1 Scene 5 is the scene
set at the party at the Capulet s household. Juliet s mother introduces her to the County Paris, but
before that, she sets eyes on Romeo, of the House of Montague. Romeo is not aware the Juliet is from
the house of Capulet, he thinks she is exceptionally beautiful. He describes her as a snowy dove,
trooping with crows , the dove symbolises purity, peace and is associated with the colour white,
however crows symbolise hatred and are usually associated with the colour black. This can be linked
to the theme of the feud which exists between the two households, Juliet is pure, but the rest of her
house is filled with hatred and distrust. We then see Juliet s first move to disobey her mother, she
leaves the hall of the ball with Romeo. We see the beginning of Juliet s journey from a child into an
independent woman. We are also made aware of her emerging sexuality. Romeo uses an extended

Sexually transmitted disease (STD) is one of the listed topics for Healthy people 2020 area for
improvement. The importance for prevention of STD is marked by a number of different factors like
high yearly increase in infected individuals, rise in healthcare cost, and long term health care
complications associated with untreated STDs. Another significant reason for the importance of STD
prevention is nearly half of the new cases of infected individuals are young adults between the ages of
15 24 (U. S. Department of Health Human Services [HHS], 2015). Adolescents between the age of 15
19 and young adults between the age of 20 24 are at a disproportionate rate in the number of new STD
cases yearly, in comparison to adults and older adults (HHS, 2015). Furthermore, not all STD cases
are reported or accounted for annually, and case numbers are possibly much higher than the reported
incidents that only include Clamydia, Gonorrhea, and syphilis. This target population is at an increase
need for safe sex practices to reduce the prevalence of new cases annually. The increase need for

century (Hopkin, Wise Garland, 2010). In order to update the ATC system to increase its capacity, the
FAA, along with other select governing bodies have started implementing NextGen. At an estimated
cost of $18 billion through the year 2018, the NextGen system uses emerging technology and is
constantly facing challenges (United States Federal Aviation Administration, 2010). These challenges
delay the benefits received through the use of NextGen which add to the ongoing NAS delays and risk
the safety of future flights in the oversaturated airways. Although some delays are being experienced
in NextGen prorams, 30 major airports now have NextGen capabilities (NextGen Airports, 2016). The

In this community everyone is the same, these people won t want what their friends have, if they

In the United States there are a lot of different views about guns and gun laws. As a hunter and
outdoorsman, I own guns and use guns. As a gun owner, I believe there should be some laws and
restrictions however not a ban. Some believe all guns are bad and the only solution to end gun
violence is to ban all guns. However, people have to realize that most gun crimes are committed by
stolen or illegal fire arms. If somehow I could change the way most view guns, and to help end the
argument on the ban of firearms, it would be one less thing Americans have to argue about. There are
many kinds of guns and reasons to have guns. The most common reasons are hunting, sport shooting,
and protection. Rifles and shotguns are generally used for hunting

27. Fossil Fuel Power Station
A fossil fuel power station is a type of power station that burns fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas or
petroleum (oil) to produce electricity. Central station fossil fuel power plants are designed on a large
scale for continuous operation. In many countries, such plants provide most of the electrical energy
used.
Fossil fuel power stations have rotating machinery to convert the heat energy of combustioninto
mechanical energy, which then operates an electrical generator. The prime mover may be a steam
turbine, a gas turbine or, in small plants, a reciprocating internal combustionengine. All plants use the
energy extracted from expanding gas steam or combustion gases. A very few MHD generators have
been built which directly convert the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unloading one of these trains takes anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. Older unloaders may
still use manually operated bottom dump rail cars and a shaker attached to dump the coal. Generating
stations adjacent to a mine may receive coal by conveyor belt or massive diesel electric drive trucks.
A collier (cargo ship carrying coal) may hold 40,000 long tons of coal and takes several days to
unload. Some colliers carry their own conveying equipment to unload their own bunkers; others
depend on equipment at the plant. Colliers are large, seaworthy, self powered ships. For transporting
coal in calmer waters, such as rivers and lakes, flat bottomed vessels called barges are often used.
Barges are usually unpowered and must be moved by tugboats or towboats.
For start up or auxiliary purposes, the plant may use fuel oil as well. Fuel oil can be delivered to plants
by pipeline, tanker, tank car or truck. Oil is stored in vertical cylindrical steel tanks with capacities as
high as 90,000 barrels (14,000 m3) worth. The heavier no. 5 bunker and no. 6 fuels are typically steam
heated before pumping in cold climates.
Plants fueled by natural gas are usually built adjacent to gas transport pipelines or have dedicated gas
pipelines extended to them.

On Bullshit
In On Bullshit, Harry G. Frankfurt, a professor at Princeton University discusses the concept of
bullshit from his standpoint. He begins his essay by stating, One of the most salient features of our
culture is that there is so much bullshit (117). Since Frankfurt doubts that most people are rather
confident of their ability to recognize bullshit and to avoid being taken in by it (117), he provides a
theoretical understanding of bullshit. The big question being asked throughout this argument is when,
if ever, is bullshitting seriously morally wrong and why? And what exactly is so important about
caring about, respecting, and telling the truth? Aspects of bullshit are discussed with reference to the
Oxford English Dictionary, Wittgenstein, and Saint Augustine. There are three points made throughout
the essay that seem to be crucially important the difference between lying and bullshitting, the
question of why there is so much bullshit in society today, and an analysis of sincerity.
Frankfurt begins his search for the meaning of bullshit by comparing it to the word humbug, and
referencing the work The Prevalence of Humbug by Max Black. Black gives the definition of
humbug: deceptive misrepresentation, short of lying, especially by pretentious word or deed, of
somebody s own thoughts, feelings, or attitudes. (118). By examining the definition of a related term,
Frankfurt begins his argument

people from the start kind of thing, but there were many layers and events that happened before that

In Pre Modern Europe, Jews would be the largest minority. Jews would follow their own law of
Judaism (which had rules such as how to dress and when to work) that would differ from the Christian
way. Because of this difference, there was a little tension between the Christians and Jews, but they
did co exist. However, Jews did sometimes get expelled from certain regions. Furthermore, Jews
would not be treated as people who practiced a different religion but as people of a separate biological
race. Now as countries and borders became more and more apparent, nationalism came on the rise. In
order to be nationalistic and band together with others of the same nationality, one must have
something or someone to band together against, and unfortunately but predictably, Jews were the
target of this newfound nationalism. This resentment of the Jews in Europe had been instilled in their
mindset going into the interwar period ( Racism, Anti Â

For example, in Protocols of the Elders of Zion, written in 1902, someone who had anti Semitic views

but even hunting humans has become too easy for him. Zaroff is a very skillful hunter and he has
access to guns, dogs and help from a man named Ivan. He promises to let Rainsford free though, if he

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor

Technically speaking, internet censorship is difficult to achieve. Proponents of this measure seem to
have neglected the fact that putting in place a system of surveillance requires the establishment of
clear, unalterable rules. But often, such a task can be almost unfeasible since it is quite problematical
to define precisely the information that is supposed to be blocked. In the context of hate speech for
example, it is important to acknowledge the existence of a line between criticism, whether it is
constructive or not, and pure animosity.

When it comes to legal videos that may be inappropriate, the team instantly resorts to age restriction.
Both of these internet giants encourage free speech while supervising it and immediately removing
content that is clearly offensive to the general public. This concept of self regulation is a good
alternative to extensive Internet censorship, since the website only has its own contents to focus on,
rather than having an entire system of surveillance watching over the web, with the risk of it making
errors in the process. Most importantly, the main idea behind these guidelines is not censorship, but
moral, reasonable control.
We should not let the government interfere and impose its draconian laws. Censorship is nothing but a
violation of fundamental civil rights, starting with freedom of speech. By defying the First Law of

35. Arguments Against Animal Testing Essay
Animal Testing There is much debate over whether animal testing should be allowed or not. Some
people think that it is not essential to sacrifice animals for human benefits because they are being
abused and tortured severely during experiments. Some others who stand against animal testing claim
that humans eliminate many lives on earth in order to safe humans lives, so there is no justice because
even animals have the right to live on earth, yet these people do not consider the truth that animals are
being used in the food industry or in the laboratories. Thus, if someone asks how many animals are
being used in the laboratory experiments around the world every year, who can give an accurate
answer? It can be one, ten, or fifty million. It is difficult to find the exact figure on this question
because people only read news through mass media such as having a new vaccine which can help
human avoid uterus cancer or a new medicine help humans cure strokes, but they also need to know
how many lives of the animals would have to take in order to get theses vaccines. Therefore, some
organizes think that animal testing is one of the most disturbing experiments ever, and it should be
banned. Despite many controversies with opposing opinions, a compromise can be made in order to
reduce the use of animals in the laboratory experiments. In the problem, there are always opposite
sides which can create the debate about using animals in the laboratory experiments. Some people

This is the major difference between positivist and natural law thinkers. Natural law is the
combination of laws and morals while legal positivism is the seperation of laws and morals. Legal
positivism declares that morality is irrelevant to the identification of what is valid law and that the
criteria for the validity of a legal rule or law in a society is that it has the warrant of the sovereign and
will be enforced by the sovereign and its agents. Raz, a positivist, stated that the validity of a law can

C A court is likely to find that Ultra s customer database meets the not generally known or readily

R In determining whether information is not generally known or readily ascertainable, courts consider
the following two Restatement factors: the extent to which the information is known outside of the
business and the ease or difficulty with which the information could be properly acquired or

The story of Swan Lake and Black Swan parallel, but when the movie does an actual performance of
the ballet, the aesthetic of ballet reflects the movie s themes overall. While the choreography remains
the same, the colors are much darker than a normal stage production would be. Since the film is a
thriller with a dark tone, the colors fit the mood better than the bright, cool colors of a normal stage
production. Even in the scenes with the White Swan, the color palette is somewhat more somber than
normal. The lighting has a red tent to it when Nina is dancing the White Swan. This could be a symbol
of even when she is most innocent, there is still darkness surrounding her. She also messes up during
that time as well so the red could also be adding to the fact that she is so far gone by the Black Swan
that she can no longer dance the White Swan. Also, the costuming of the antagonist, Rothbart, is much
more monster like and bulky than the original slim leotard that is easy to dance and move with. This is
to show how small Nina is compared to him, and that the darkness that is inside of her can overcome
her. He is not shown much throughout the film, but when he does he seems to blend in as compared to
Nina s overall psychological turmoil. Finally, the Black Swan appearance is much more sinister that

soccer team, a lot of spectators enjoyed it to the fullest. So be frank, soccer provides more
opportunities to compete internationally. Compare to other sports, no all the countries even participate
it and even if they do, they don t compete for anything. This is why soccer is my favorite because it
gives a lot of opportunities to the youth to represent their country and both youth and amateur level. It
was my dream to play for my country soccer

43. Original Grizzly Bear Flag By Robert B. Ide And Men
California was ruled by the Spanish until the early 1800 s. Around 1822, news that Spain was backing
away from its northern colony reached California and led to some unrest and revolt. The state became
fully independent in 1836 and bears the Red Lone Star Flag which contained a single red star on a
white background. In the anticipation to end Mexican rule over the Free and Sovereign State of
California, Peter Storm designed the original Grizzly Bear Flag which was raised for the first time in
Sonoma, California in June 1846. Of those who raised the first flag includes William B. Ide and men
who became known as the Bear Flaggers. California was part of Mexico since its independence in
1821. It was called the department of Alta California and a province of New Spain for many years.
William L. Todd, cousin of Mary Todd Lincoln, designed another California Bear Flag. The star on the
flag began in the 1863 Lone Star Flag. From the letter of William Todd to Los Angeles Express, he
said that the star came from using blackberry juice and in recognition of the California Lone Star Flag,
and the bear was made to symbolized strength and unyielding resistance. Most think that the bear on
the first bear flag resembles the grizzly, but it resembles more of a common American black bear
because it shows the lack of shoulder hump and narrow muzzle. There was a brief history on the
original Bear Flag and the republic it symbolized during June to July 1846. A small group of American

44. My Adulthood Memories And Memories Of A Childhood Home
Places are more than less often full of memories. Rooms have narratives that can be told through the
items and furniture they contain. These narratives are often overlooked and not thought about,
especially in places where one does not want to spend a particularly large amount of time. Rooms
speak, even though we often don t want to listen, or don t want to know. Basements are often like this,
full of broken thing and memories, knee deep castaways, childhood toys and holiday lights. The
basement in my childhood home is this way, completely divided into then and now; simply, entirely,
depressing. This room is split into two distinct halves. The stairs are creaky and off white, stained grey
and black from soda spills, muddy shoes, snow slush and dirty dog feet. Clumps of dog hair sit in the
corners of each step, wrapped up into dust balls. At the bottom, to the immediate left, is where a
playroom used to be. There are drawings and old bits of paper stuck up on the walls, hinting as to
what this space used to contain. Now, a large, professional grade ping pong table sits in the middle of
the room. Once loved, the table is now stacked high with towels and laundry. On the wall parallel to
the length of the table is a child s growth chart, drawn in Sharpie on the rigid wall that ruined many a
marker tip. Starting in June 2004 and ending in June of 2017, about 18 lines with corresponding dates
mark the growth of a child. On the adjacent wall, farthest from the

46. Using Quantitative Pcr For Hiv Viral Load Control
Results
An HIV GWAS SNP marks expression of a long non coding RNA (lncRNA).
Human chromosome 3p21 22 harbors a cluster of chemokine receptor genes, several of which serve as
major or minor co receptors of HIV 1 [1]. The genetic associations of CCR5 and CCR2 gene
polymorphisms with HIV 1 pathogenesis are well known [2 5], but any potential role of variation in
other regions of the cluster is largely unknown. An intergenic SNP (rs1015164 A/G) downstream of
the CCRL2 gene was shown to associate with HIV viral load control [6] and progression to AIDS [7]
in two independent cohorts of HIV infected patients. Importantly, the SNP showed genome wide
significant association with HIV outcomes in meta analyses that collectively examined genotyping
data from 6,315 HIV infected patients [8]. The SNP is in close genomic proximity to a non coding
RNA gene RP 11 24F11.2 (Fig. S1). We were able to detect and quantify the polyadenylated lncRNA
transcript in the total RNA from peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) using quantitative PCR
(qPCR). Specificity of the primers was confirmed by sequencing of the amplicons. We designated this
lncRNA as Lnc11.2. The rs1015164A allele, which associated with higher viral loads (OR=1.4, p=3.3
Ă10 5) [6] and more rapid disease progression (HR=1.4, p=8.6 Ă10 6) [7] correlated with higher
expression levels of Lnc11.2 in PBLs (Fig. 1).
Characterization of the Lnc11.2 transcript Amplification of the 3 and 5 ends of the Lnc11.2 transcript

47. Pope Francis And The Catholic Church Want To Destroy The...
Pope Francis and the Roman Catholic Church want to destroy the Protestant Reformation, according
to an Italian evangelical pastor who spoke to attendees of a conference in Orlando, Florida last week
which was held to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
Speaking to the people who attended the Ligonier National Conference last week, Church Breccia di
Roma pastor Leonardo De Chirico said Pope Francis and the Catholic Church remain opposed to the
Protestant Reformation and modern evangelicalism. He also accused the pontiff of having the ultimate
goal of destroying that Reformation, The Christian Post relays.
He is ... the first Jesuit pope. And remember, the Jesuit order was founded in the 16th century to fight

48. Fleur De Lis Symbolism
1. #13: This number represents all the provinces and territories in Canada collar 2.Maple leaf:
According to historians the maple leaf has been a prominent symbol of Canada since the 1700s,
however aboriginal people had been using the maple tree for its sap well before the settlement of the
first european immigrants. The maple leaf also symbolizes country wide unity because maple trees
grow in all ten provinces and three territories.
3.Fleurde lis: Fleur de lis translates into english as Lily Flower (In french, fleur means flower and lis
means lily ). This emblematic flower appears on a number of flags and coat of arms in Europe, not to
mention right here in Canada. However, it is particularly associated with the with the French
Monarchy and it remains an unofficial symbol of France.
The fleur de lis appears on Canada s coat of arms, the queens personal flag, and also those of Trois
Rivieres, Sherbrooke, Montreal, and Quebec. It is found on so many flags because initially it would
designate areas settled by the french. For many Canadian francophones the fleur de lis is a symbol of
their cultural identity; when Canada was discovered it was a reminder for the ... Show more content on

inukshuk: The inuksuit (plural of inukshuk) are stone figures made by the inuit. Inukshuk is an
Inuktitut word that means in the likeness of a human . There are different kinds and depending on how
they are built they can symbolize different things however they are typically used for communication
and survival. One of the most well known and traditional inuksuit is a built to resemble a human and
the purpose of this kind of inushuk is to ensure people they are on the right path and/or there is a
village near by. These inuksuit symbolize friendship and safety. When nunavut was made its own
territory in 1999, they made the central figure of their flag the inuksuk and it has since received much
more attention. It was also the official symbol for the winter olympics of 2010 which was held in

49. Herram Delvile
The relationship between Cecilia and Mortimer Delvile is one of the most frustrating parts of the
novel. Delvile is an indecisive, self centered man who does not think about the effects that his actions
might have on another person. He is not malicious, but he is inconsiderate and he introduces great pain
into Cecilia s life. He initially confesses to her that he loves her, then ignores her just long enough that
she is able to move on from him, then comes back into her life under the pretense of friendship, and
then he leaves again. His flippant disregard for her feelings takes a toll on Cecilia as she tries to
pinpoint what kind of relationship they actually have. Delvile finally decides that he does indeed love
her and want to be with her, so he travels to find her and suggests what he believes to be an excellent
compromise for the both of them: a secret wedding. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The line The joy with which he heard it...was as violent as the eagerness with which he had sought it
is especially poignant; while Delvile may love Cecilia, he is totally ignorant of how a secret wedding
will take a toll on her personal morality. The scene comments on how men often innately brush aside
female concerns because they are affected by them, nor do they want to take the time to understand
where women are coming from. Not to mention, the secret wedding is only on the table in the first
place because Delvile cannot bring himself to take Cecilia s surname as his own, therefore taking on a
traditionally female

50. The Appeal And Spread Of Radical Islam
The appeal and spread of radical Islam within the United States is becoming a serious national
security risk. In the past radical Islamic groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda placed cells in the United
States for the purpose of taking down the American establishment through domestic terrorism. In
order to counter and even stop this phenomenon, it is essential that law enforcing and the intelligence
community understand what makes Radical Islam so appealing. Moreover, Once Officials figure out
the appeal of radical Islam, only then can an effective strategy to combat radical Islam be made and
implemented. Current methods for abolishing radical Islam are not working if anything it has made
the situation worse. Therefore, a new strategy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, many radical Islamic groups believe that man made laws are shirk and they are not too
be bound by them (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Moreover, the only laws that have a sense of
legitimacy in the eyes of radical Islamist is Sharia law (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Which is
believed to be law directly passed down from Allah. In addition, radical groups such as Al Muhajiroun
believe that all actions, decisions and deeds are an act of praise and worship as long as it follows
sharia. Conversely, any deviation from the fundamentalist teachings of Islam is considered sin against
God (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Therefore, according to radical Islamist those who do not follow
the strict interpretations of Islam are doomed to burn in the fiery pits of hell, while those of follow
such teaching will see paradise (Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). Radical Islamist groups use this basic
principle to keep their members in check. It is also important to note that each Radical Islamist group
believes only it can offer its members the True path to salvations and all other groups are false
(Quintan Wiktorowicz, 2006). This ideology is based upon a passage in the Hadiths that states And
this Ummah will divide into 73 sects all of which will go to hell and they are those who are upon what

51. Types Of Investment Risks And Their Sources
Q.7: DEFINE RISK. DISCUSS THE TYPES OF INVESTMENT RISKS AND THEIR SOURCES.
ALSO EXPLAIN THE CAUSES OF RISK.
ANS.: INTRODUCTION:
Risk is explained theoretically as the fluctuation in returns from a security. A security that yields
consistent returns over a period of time is termed as riskless security or risk free security . Risk is
inherent in all walks of life. An investor cannot foresee the future definitely; hence, risk will always
exist for an investor. Risk is in fact the watch word for all investors who enter capital markets.
Risk refers to the possibility that the actual outcome of an investment will differ from its expected
outcome. More specifically, most investors are concerned about the actual outcome being less than the
expected outcome. The wider the range of possible outcome, the greater the risk.
DEFINITION:
ï According to Fischer and Jordon,
Risk is the, Variability of return around the expected average is thus a quantitative description of risk.
ï Dictionary meaning of risk:
It is the possibilities of losses or injury, the degree of probability of such loss. Risk is the composed of
the demand that bring in variations in return of income.
KEY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN RISK AND UNCERTAINTY:
1. Risk is able to be measured while the uncertainty is not able to be measured.
2. Risk can be calculated while the uncertainty can never be counted.
3. You are capable of make earlier plans in order to avoid risk. It is impossible to make prior plans for

52. A Rose For Emily Mental Analysis
Clarissa Rojas

Prof. Goldberg
17 March 2017
Prompt # 3 Reading A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner is truly an interesting story. This is the
first time I read about a character having a mental illness that made impressed me and engage to read
more. Emily is a simple girl who was left alone with nothing by her dead strict father. In the story, she
was very reclusive and secretive with her life. She then, murdered her lover, Homer. She slept with his
corpse until she died. Emily s mental behavior are caused by few people in her life. This includes her
father and the townspeople. The closest people with Emily is her father. When her dead father was still
alive, he secluded her from the world and overly protected her ... Show more content on

Because of Emily being the last in line from the well known Grierson family, she is recognized by the
every person in town. The townspeople played a role of investigating Emily s cause of mental
behavior. But because Emily is considered a high class person, it gave a reason for the people of
Jefferson to avoid the obvious clues that Emily is mentally displaced and was mentally unstable, due
to her father s death, and capable of premeditated murder. Emily s story and situation was caused by a
number of outlook. Though it is most likely being her segregation from herself to the world. Emily s
father s way of bringing her up and teaching her in life which was a wrong way a parent could do by
secluding her from the outside world and preventing anyone from courting her. Instead of helping her
grow and live her life, she couldn t and she was raised that way by her father so she thinks that it is
what is the right thing to do. Her behavior was certainly psychotic. Homer s death apparently show
that Emily doesn t want to be alone and that his corpse being in her bed assured her that they ll be
