The Anti-War and Hippie Movements
From the late 1950s to the late 1970s a phenomenon erupted over the United States. A proud counter
culture was born in the midst of the Vietnam War. Many people protested against the Vietnam War and
the horrors that many people saw on TV because of it. Many incidents triggered the Anti War
movement and the Hippie counter culture such as the growing United States involvement in Southern
Vietnam, the gruesome images that the evening news showed uncensored, the draft that caused many
thousands of men to lose their lives and their minds as the end result of the war. This war triggered a
great sense of what is right and wrong in specifically young people. Social justice and moral justice
were some of the main focal points of the Anti War and Hippie movements. This war allowed
teenagers and young adults to have power in what they believe in and to stand up against unjust
killings of our men and innocent lives in Vietnam. The eighteen year span of the war from 1956 1975
saw the rise and eventually the fall of the anti war movement and the hippie movement. The Vietnam
War was one of the most hated wars in United States history, for the primary reasons that we did not
win and the draft destroyed countless men, physically and mentally. The end result of the war did not
justify the means and this made a lot of people very upset. This war was also the most televised war,
showing incredibly gruesome, uncensored images on the evening news at dinner time. The political
protest for the

The Visit by Friedrich Durrenmatt
Friedrich Durrenmatt, like Samuel Beckett, became a prominent writer that wrote about human nature
after World War II. The Visit, for instance, is about an impoverished town that is in need of money.
The town realizes on Ill, who is a main character, to call a friend and ask for a favor, and he does.
Claire, Ill s friend, places an ironic twist on the requirement in order to get the money, which is
someone must kill Ill, but by the end of the play someone does kill Ill. In general, the play depicts the
idea that it is human nature to do anything in order to survive. Due to Friedrich Durrenmatt s various
techniques when writing the play, the reader gets a town comparable to Germany during the 1930s and
1940s. Friedrich Durrenmatt s techniques were used to foreshadow the play and to depict the
condition and choices of Germany before and during World War II from a logical view. For example,
the black panther, which is one of the most profound symbols throughout the play, is Claire s pet. She
brings it with her to Guellen in a cage. The panther is the symbolic foreshadow of Ill s life in this play,
and Claire refers to Ill several times by the nickname black panther . The butler proclaims, The black
panther escaped, Madam. (58) The black panther escapes around the same time she offers the million
dollar. Like the black panther, Ill is trying to escape Guellen before someone kills him, which is
similar to Jews trying to escape Germany during the 1930s before Hitler s

Leadership And Commitment Of Senior Management Essay
Leadership and Commitment
Senior management leadership and commitment forms a key element of this model. A successful OSH
risk management strategy must be driven by senior Management. This is the level of management
mandated to make critical decisions on policy development of an organization. Risk management is
most effective when it is integrated into the initial stages of business and strategic planning. In
Australia the public service legislation places an emphasis on high levels of professional leadership
and expertise; and performance management, and accountability in devolved management framework
(Commonwealth of Australia, 2005). In a study done to establish safety standards in Borabu District in
Kenya it was found that 36% of head teachers indicated that Board of Governors were uncooperative
in improving safety standards. (Migiro, 2012). Training institutions like other organizations must be
led by senior management that is committed to safety.
2.3.1.2 Active Involvement of all workers
Active involvement of all workers in the workplace ensures success of any OHS management
program, and helps to develop a safety culture in the workplace. Open communication between
management and workers support OSH activities. Employees provide critical OSH information as
they are often in the immediate work area and identify hazards. They can provide valuable advice
about risks and possible solutions (Commonwealth of Australia, 2005). In Kenya the OSH Policy
demands that workers

The third edition of American Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders was the
first publication that officially defined PTSD as the severe trauma exposure manifestation. The fifth
edition of DSM, however, defined trauma as extreme threatening and distressing events involving
actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. Undeniably, the concept and origin of
PTSD were more distinctly shown during the First World War, but actually there are evidences present
that the concept and origin of PTSD has occurred prior to the First World War. Mesopotamia is the

as anxiety, affliction, and worry are called disorders in the sense of mental disease and sick body,
wherein anxiety is clinically described as a constricting medical illness, affliction is portrayed as
permanent, and worry as pensive, distinctively differentiating trait anxiety and the state of anxiety

Their Treatment in Ancient Greence (2014), the Greeks believed that the ideal soldiers had to fight to
death as their representation of masculinity. Even though, the courage in the battlefield illustrated the
ideology of fearless Greeks soldiers, but it also came with social pressure because of laws and
regulation against soldiers who fled from the battle, so the soldiers basically were put into a stressful
situation between taking risks of getting wounded or killed in the battlefield while serving in the army
or running away from the battlefield and facing the punishment and disgrace from the society (p.741).

The investigation assesses the significant contribution of the United States, with a general focus on the
CIA, to Salvador Allende s political downfall. To adequately evaluate the involvement of the United
States and the CIA, this investigation emphasizes the multiple measures and operations taken through
distinctive cases of economic plots, operations track 1 and 2, as well as the infiltration into Chilean
political and military factions. This investigation strives to answer the question: How did the United

realized this method would not be time efficient and would restrict my view to a traditionalist
interpretation since the events were seen firsthand. Utilizing solely primary sources would not have
been beneficial to my investigation as a whole. In order to include more revisionist perspectives,
which better portray my own, I used research collected by other historians to discover the different
aspects of United States involvement. The most difficult aspect of history is that there is no correct or
straightforward answer. All history is interpreted differently by the different people involved which
leads to biases. For this reason, there is no guarantee that the information will ever be entirely
objective. By looking at multiple sources, I was able to form an idea of the events that occurred while
viewing different interpretations with similar themes. One of the most important aspects of my
research was finding multiple sources that included similar information in order to verify the accuracy

Percy Harrison Fawcett Research Paper
Blank spots on a map leave even the most uninterested curious; calling them in ways most would not
understand. Unexplored lands and oceans inspire thousands to venture into the unknown, no matter
the level of experience. Those who feel the pull cannot ignore it and would give up everything just to
feel the thrill of the adventure. Percy Harrison Fawcett, born on the 18th of August of 1867, was one
of those who had felt the pull and just could not resist. Fawcett took on the Amazon, specifically El
Dorado, the city of gold. Close to nothing was known about the Amazon before he went in. Percy
Fawcett was one of the greatest explorers the world has ever seen. To be a good explorer one must
have confidence, passion, and courage. In the book, Lost City of Z , author, David Grann,
continuously presents examples of Fawcett being a great explorer by possessing these traits. In 1925,
Percy Fawcett sets out to the Amazon to find El Dorado and though he does not return, he gets far
enough in such a way that we as the readers can truly understand what makes a good explorer. For the
duration of the novel, through Grann, Fawcett proves how confidence (such as his own), is a necessary
trait for a successful explorer to have. For example, Nina Fawcett, Percy Fawcett s wife, told the
Royal Geographical Society about Fawcett s faith in himself and his own skill set. Nina states, Major
Fawcett contemplated cutting through 100 miles of forest... in a month (123). Especially without the

Why Did The Inca Created Terraces
The Incans were sophisticated farmers. They used very advanced and specialised techniques to grow a
huge variety of crops. The Incans created terraces to grow their crops on. They built terraces on the
hillsides for two reasons. First to make hillsides flat and second to suit the different altitude
requirements of different plants. By building the terraces on the sides of mountains the Incans also
enabled their crops to get more sunlight instead of planting in the shaded valleys. The terraces were
formed with stone walls and included steps to move from one level to the next. The stone walls
prevented erosion. The stone walls were also used as they would heat up during the day and slowly
release heat into the soil when temperatures cooled

THE GRACCHI
Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus was bon in 163 B.C. and came from a distinguished family. His
grandfather conquered Hannibal, his father brought the Celtiberian war successfully to a close,
reduced Sardinia, and was elected consul for two terms and sensor for one. His mother Cornelia was a
woman of wide culture who employed Greek tutors to educate her sons, Tiberius and Gaius. Two
tutors who influenced Tiberius at a young age were Diophanes, a teacher of oration and Blossius of
Cumae, a philosopher.
After taking part in the campaign of 146 BC, which ended with the destruction of Carthage, Tiberius
was elected quaestor in 137. Travelling through Etruria, Tiberius saw large estates worked by slaves

The land was to be distributed to roman citizens up to a maximum of 30 iugera who had to pay a small
rent. Gracchus became very popular with the normal citizen who received land, however as the
majority of large land owners were senators, he alienated himself form them. Gracchus did not consult
the senate regarding this measure and instead brought it before the popular assembly. His reason for
doing so might have been that he believed it would get bogged down in the senate, as it was a bill
directly affecting their finances or perhaps it was because he only had one year to act and realized the
immediate need for reform. However Tiberius had friends in the senate and it is possible that the bill
may have got through if he had followed procedure and if the senators put the needs of the republic
before their own. When the bill was brought before the Concilium Plebis, it was vetoed by fellow
tribune M. Octavius, a large holder of public land. After pleading with Octavius to withdraw his veto,
Tiberius asked the people for the removal of Octavius as tribune. The people voted in favour of his
deposition and elected another tribune who carried Tiberius

Loisel s The Necklace
It seems a desire in human nature to want more and more things for the sake of having them and for
treasuring them. No matter the amount or cost some people have the tendency to obtain as much as
they can get, because they can never have enough stuff. The character of Madame Mithilde Loisel
from the short story, The Necklace, without a doubt has this trait. Monsieur and Madame (M. and
Mme.) Loisel are a couple living in Paris. Mme. Loisel, although beautiful, is very unhappy with the
life she has been given. One day, M. Loisel receives an invite to a nighttime ball, but Mme. Loisel
refuses to go unless she has something marvelous to showcase herself with. Her husband manages to
obtain a dress for her, and she manages to get a necklace from an old friend, Mme. Forestier. Once M.

Loisel is something that ultimately shapes the events that occur in the story. Although she is in the
middle to low class part of society, she believes that she has the right to everything for her to be
perfect. [Mithilde] believes that superficial things a large house, a ball gown, and better furniture will
truly make her happy ( The Necklace ). It is said that she is stunning and absolutely beautiful, but she
[felt] that she had been born for all of the little necessities and luxuries for living (Maupassant, 70).
The blindness of her beauty and her dreams of riches lead to the conflict within the story. When
invited to attend a ball with her husband, Mme. Loisel refuses because she does not have the proper
attire. Her invitation to the party reminded her of her lack of jewels and ball gems. ( The Necklace ).
Her husband is unable to maintain a dress which is good enough by itself, but Mithilde argues that it
has to be as perfect as it can be and it could not be completed without some sort of accessory, and that
accessory will lead to her

The Effects of Being Dishonest
As I pondered my brain for words to put on paper in reference to the topics given to me by my

prompts. While holding back tears it was at this moment that I realized being wiser than my peers and

Some of us may never know why certain people are placed in our lives at any given time but this one
time I am grateful for having a friend who was gracious enough to allow me to share her experience in
writing this essay. This essay will focus on the academic dishonesty a topic many students are
unaware of and refuse to talk about because he/she does not want anyone to know he/she received
assistance or received credit for work that is not their own. My friend felt cheating was the right thing

word means to have sexual intercourse with someone that is not your spouse, like an affair. In
Colombia, Chile and Argentina, rapar means to cut one s hair so short it is almost bald. One might

The Entanglement Of Opposing Forces In William...
The Entanglement of Opposing Forces When there is light, there is shadow. This is true with William
Shakespeares Macbeth as the main character of the same name is slowly transformed into a
malevolent person that can only be stopped by the light of another character, Macduff. Macbeth and
Macduff rely on each other as opposing forces in the play but cannot coexist because of the parallels
between them. The surge of power to Macbeth through evil turmoil gives purpose and presence to
Macduff s character. Macduff and Macbeth s characters are foils of each other representing two
parallels of initially similar characters. Only one of the characters can survive because of the hatred
created by the contrast between the two. Therefore, one will always persevere over the other. As
Macbeth rises in power, Macduff s role in the play becomes more prominent. Macbeths first major
villainous deed was killing Duncan. In the next scene after the murder, Macduff is introduced to the
audience. In the following quote Macduff has a conversation with Macbeth and his only concern is
going to see the king:
MACDUFF. Is the king stirring, worthy thane?
MACBETH. Not yet.
MACDEFF. He did command me to call timely on him:
I have almost slipp d the hour.
MACBETH. I ll bring you to him.

But yet tis one.

The Reality of Sex Slavery in the Present Day
In Margaret Atwood s novel, Oryx and Crake, she constantly places the reader in an uncomfortable
environment. The story takes place in a not so distant future where today s world no longer exists due
to an unknown catastrophe. The only human is a man who calls himself the Abominable Snowman or
Snowman for short, but in his childhood days his name was Jimmy. If the thought of being all alone in
the world is not uneasy enough, Atwood takes this opportunity to point out the flaws of the modern

informing the public about human trafficking reports, 3,287 people are sold or kidnaped and forced
into slavery every day. That s 136 an hour and that s just the reported cases ( Human Trafficking Facts

because there was only so much food to go around (Atwood 117). In a world with so much why do
young children and families with so little have to suffer? Why must these girls come to peace with the
images they have seen? Why must families justify the sales of their daughters by stating In the village
it was not called selling, this transaction. The talk about it implied apprenticeship. The children were
being trained to earn their living in a wide world (Atwood 116). An honest living that involves a girl
not yet a teenage to undress in front of a man multiple times her age in exchange for money (Atwood
131). It does not have to be that way. Atwood makes that clear. If the root of the problem is there is not
enough food for the children to survive there is a simple solution. If society was more aware of what
was happening the increase in awareness and charitable contributions could lead to a hopeful
tomorrow. While this answer seems easy enough to apply the

My Experience At The Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League...
With the blow of a whistle, practice comes to a grinding halt. Tired young men remove their helmets
and gasp for air in the early but oppressive Florida summer. I gather with the rest of the coaching staff
and together we prepare one of our final talks to the team before they battle in the Florida Gulf Coast
Lacrosse League Championship game. In the six months leading to this final surge, myself and the
other coaches have worked to instill four key traits into our players: teamwork, dedication, integrity,
and respect. It is these four qualities, we believe, that will allow them to develop a fifth quality,
technical competence, and take them to the top of their sport. More importantly, it is these four traits
that we believe will transform them into mature young men and prepare them for the rigors of life off
of the field. Many of my life s most significant events coincided with my coaching career. I opened a
business, went back to school, and even met my wife. It also marks the period of my life when I began
a maturation process, albeit several years overdue. Prior to the start of my coaching, I stumbled from
one phase of my life to another, my immaturity and lack of direction fueling each other in a vicious
cycle. While coaching may not have been the event that triggered my maturation, it certainly signified
the beginning of a new era in my life, an era punctuated by a renewed understanding and appreciation
of the same traits I worked to pass onto my players. During

Violence Tends To Threaten The Organization Of Society.
Violence tends to threaten the organization of society. In today s society violence is permeated in
almost every aspect of our daily lives. Violence in our society enters our homes, workplace, and

sexual and psychological injury, including battering, pornography, sexual assault, incest, child abuse
and sexual harassment. Advertisers use sex to get our attention and they make claims about their

In today s society there have been many instances of workplace violence that has included physical
assaults, threats, verbal abuse, beatings, stabbing, rapes, obscene phone calls and shootings. I think
this is due in fact by increasing social and economic factors. At my place of employment, we have
many instances of work place violence involving staff on staff, as well as inmate against staff.
Working in such a volatile situation has kind of desensitized me to these acts and I have found myself
needing counseling and the use of anti depressants to just get through the workweek. Being
surrounded by violence and violent individuals has a negative effect on those subjected to it on a
regular basis. Many people working in this field deny that they are affected by it emotionally, however

Risks of PSA Testing Essay
PSA test results are interpreted as: 0 4 ng/mL is normal. Between 4 to 10 ng/ML is 25% of developing
cancer, and 10 ng/ml is a 50% risk of cancer. However, some men with normal PSA levels still have
prostate cancer, while other men with high PSA levels do not. PSA levels increase with age often due
to a higher prevalence of benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH). Therefore, no PSA cutoff can accurately
guarantee that a man does not have prostate cancer. PSA blood levels are used for several different
purposes such as to diagnose prostate cancer, evaluate treatment of prostate cancer, and to evaluate the

The Pros And Cons Of Bonds
Bonds are income investments used to raise capital whereby investors loan out their finances usually
to Municipalities, Corporations or Governmental (Siegal Yacht, 2009) entities who borrow the
required funds for a specific period of time agreed upon by both parties (bond issuer and bond holder)
at a regular or fixed interest rate (Investopedia, 2018). The bond issuer is the person or company
selling or borrowing bonds while the bond holder is the person or investor buying or lending bonds (in
other words, the bond holder acts as a bank loaning his money to the bond issuer). Bonds have several
features but the main ones are:

But when it makes losses, you lose out as well.
As a new shareholder, you have the right to voice out your opinions and contribute whatever ideas you

How stocks are traded
Stocks are traded on stock exchanges after a company completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO)
because its shares now become public and are ready to be traded (Hayes, 2018). This is a very
straightforward way of investing unlike bonds that can be time consuming and mostly involve a lot of
documentation. Every country has stock exchanges (physical or electronic) where investors go
whenever they want to buy or sell stocks.
How to Calculate an Annual Rate of Return
Annual Rate of Return this is the interest rate that is earned on an investment for the whole year
(Investopedia, 2018). It is calculated by first adding any income earned to the total obtained after
subtracting the end of year amount earned with the beginning of the year amount. After this, divide the
total amount obtained by the original amount invested at the beginning of the year. This can further be

The History Of Israel Is Full Of Patriarchal Stories
Introduction The history of Israel is full of Patriarchal stories with a few less matriarchal stories. It
could be said that women did not hold as high of a place as men in the ANE time, but there is one
woman s story that holds a significant amount of weight to the construction of an astounding prophet
of Israel named Samuel, his mother s name was Hannah. Although Hannah did not have a voice in her
society or the polygamous familial situation she was in, God was able to subjectively liberate her
giving her a standing relationship with him, and with her newfound voice she co raised an incredible
son with God. I will review Hannah s position in her story through her polygamous relationship, a
wife who was loved but barren, and how she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way that he loved her was that he wanted to be her everything rather than giving her a son. It is
very possible that Hannah was his trophy wife and he did not want to assume the responsibility of
having children with her. The fact that he already had other children with Peninah lets us know that he
already has that responsibility tolling on him and his money. Birth control was not uncommon in their
day and age too. Elkanah loved Hannah but not enough to give her what she wanted out of this
marriage, a child. The radical monotheist can read this text and note that it was God that had closed
her womb, but with studying more of Elkanah and the cultural practices of their day it is men who
keep women from having kids, not God. Hannah is stuck in this childless marriage and she is
unhappy. She craves to be a mother, something that is so naturally innate in women and she is sad.
Elkanah asks her the question, Am I not more than 10 sons to you ? And she does not even respond to
him. Her voice in this moment will not change the fact that she has no children. She is powerless and
childless which makes her feel less of a woman than Peninah. Hannah goes to the temple at Shiloh to
weep. Her burden is too much for her to bear so she seeks some comfort there. The text says, She
presented herself before the Lord (1 Samuel 1:9). She couldn t use her words to change her position
with her husband so she goes to

Essay On Dual Language Learners
The amount of young children who are acquiring English as a second or even third language in the
early care and education (ECE) setting as well as K 12 public classrooms have amplified across the
United States in recent years (Espinosa, 2015, p. 40). These young children that are acquiring two or
more languages concurrently, or learning a second language along with refining their native language
are considered dual language learners (DLLs) (Espinosa, 2015, p. 40). The number of DLLs has
multiplied tremendously and now accounts for 25% of all children living in the United States (p. 40).
The Office of Head Start (2011) state that fifty nine percent of the children enrolled in the Head Start
Programs were from racial or ethnic minority families, 37% were Hispanic/Latino and more than 30%
were dual language learners (as cited in Espinosa, 2015, p. 40). Unfortunately, starting from the
preschool stage and throughout high school, the educational achievements of DLLs tend to ... Show

It is common in the United States to see DLL preschoolers who attend English dominant ECE
programs tend to quickly show a preference towards English and tend to use their home language less
and less (Espinosa, 2015, p. 46). Young language learners often experience first language loss, which
is when DLLs become more proficient in the English language while their exposure to their native
language takes a back seat. It is imperative that attention must be given to both English language
development along side the native language in order to facilitate the cognitive, social, and linguistic
benefits of early bilingualism, while encouraging learning readiness goals (p. 46). Learning a second
language during early childhood within the United States should not disable the development of the

The Legend Of Merlin Research Paper
The character Merlin is an ever changing character in his legend, The Legend of Merlin. From being
the child of a demon to destroying everything having to do with magic, his life is a story of sorcery,
betrayal, and, for the most part, fairy tale love. In this great legend, he rids himself of his magical
roots by forgetting the last of any pagan beings. Through his adventures, he loses loved ones, is
betrayed by friends, wins the heart of a princess, and saves the hearts of England from the old ways.
Merlin s family is one unlike any other. He is the son of a princess and according the text and movie,
his father is a demon. In the movie, Queen Mab, queen of the old ways, creates Merlin to save

used his powers to make rain, putting out the fire, and saving the princess in the last second. Being

Hospice Utilization
Hospice Utilization in the Workplace
Hospice and palliative care are still new concepts to many that come into the facility. While the
process and the goals of palliative and hospice care can be described to the patients and family
members, the terminology and interpretation may be challenged by their previous beliefs and
ideologies. However, after careful counseling and education, many family members agree to undergo
hospice or palliative care at the appropriate time. Considering that five years ago, hospice utilization
in the workplace was scarce in comparison to today where there is an entire unit devoted to promoting
palliative and hospice care, it can be said that these new forms of care are becoming accepted

What was once believed to be a form of neglect has resulted in a change in practice with the idea that
doing less is more. Culture is an important factor in how care is rendered and thus, the limitations of
palliative and hospice care lie within the desires of the family and patients. A thorough understanding
of our surrounding demographics helps to ensure a seamless approach to providing care without bias
or imposition of ones beliefs. However, just as with all things, providing care for the sick and
comforting the dying should be rendered in moderation as to prevent the effects of burn out. Likewise,
the same effects occur in the caregivers who sacrifice their responsibilities in order to care for their
love ones. Finally, and with some closing thoughts, the writer wishes to express with gratitude the
benefit of having taken this course to better understand oneself and others in the realm of healthcare.

Robert Browning s Dramatic Monologue
Robert Browning was a brilliant writer. The Longman Anthology of British Literature says, More than
any other nineteenth century figure, Browning shaped the poetry of the twentieth, influencing British
and American poets from, Hardy and Yeats to Elliot, Pound, Frost, Lowell, and Stevens (1322). One of
Robert Browning s specialties was dramatic monologues. In his dramatic monologues, Browning
develops his characters really well. Throughout the monologue Browning shows the true character of
the person by not only what the character is speaking, but also by idiomatic language, patterns of
imagery, speech rhythms, and unintended ironies (The Longman Anthology of British Literature,
1323). A good example of one of Browning s dramatic monologues is The Bishop Orders His Tomb at
Saint Praxed s Church. In this monologue the main character is a Bishop who is trying to order a very
extravagant tomb for himself. Browning did such an excellent job at the Bishop s character
development that John Ruskin said that there is not any other writing that portrays the Renaissance
spirit its worldliness, inconsistency pride, hypocrisy, ignorance of itself, love of art, of luxury, and of
good Latin (The Longman Anthology of British Literature, 1332). Browning portrayed this in only
one hundred and twenty five lines, which shows the brilliance of Robert s writing. The Renaissance
was full of a love of luxury. People wanted to have the best of the best. Robert definitely portrayed

Young children might not be the direct targets of the abuse, yet witnessing abuse in the household can
harm them permanently and can cause psychological and behavioural problems. Children exposed to
violence at home act different as compared to the children living in a healthy family. Witnessing abuse
or being victim to abuse increases one s risk of delinquency, adult criminal behavior and violent
behaviors (O Keefe, 1996). Children are considered a nation s future and family violence leaves
negative remarks on children. The negative impacts and experiences disrupt young children from
contributing to the maximum in the society and fill in their role. Family is a first institution of
socialization. Children perform what they observe, and if young children observe one parent abusing
the other parent he or she will be raised with the idea that family violence is a norm and will
contribute to the cycle of family violence in the future, and the cycle will continue on without being
questioned. Children who witness and are victim of abuse at home are more likely to have aggressive
behaviour, which includes arguing with everyone, disobedience in school, disrupting class with rude
behaviour. (Moylan et al. 2009) Such behaviour affects other children in school even though they are
not part of the household where the abuse is occurring.

The Primary Causes Of Mass School Shootings In America
Mass school shootings have become a disturbing trend in this country in the last two decades.
According to the FBI, mass shootings (defined as shooting events that kill at least four people) occur
approximately every two weeks in the United States (Manson). This baffling trend has left families
and communities devastated with some having no concrete answers as to why exactly they lost their
loved ones to these tragedies. Why have there been so many school shootings recently? Questions
such as this must be answered, and they must be answered soon.
My answer to this problem is that the media spends far too much time covering these incidents and
gives the killers the attention they seek. If they simply stop giving the killers that attention, the number
of school shooting will drastically decrease.
After every school shooting, most people can personally witness how certain parties and groups jump
in and use the tragedy to promote their suggestions or push their political agendas.
During this time, gun control advocates campaign for stricter gun laws. Mental health advocates use
this chance to bring up the faults within our healthcare system. Although these groups do bring up
some valid arguments, none of them can be labeled as the primary cause of so many school shootings.
I believe the reason that is to blame for the majority of these school shootings is the insane media
coverage of the shootings and the killers because it gives the killers the attention that they seek.

How To Write A Phosphorus Report
Phosphorus Report
By Hayden Michaels
Introduction.
Phosphorus is an element on the periodic table that we use in many different ways without even
noticing; we even have Phosphorus in our bodies! Phosphorus is essential to the life of all living
creatures including ourselves. There are many types of Phosphorus including red, white, violet or
(black phosphorus). We also use Phosphorus in our daily lives without noticing, even though it reacts
with substances. It also plays a big biological role both positive and can be negative. It has structure as
all atoms do and needs to go through a cycle to be used. It has unique physical and chemical
properties and many uses.

Phosphorus has a nucleus like all other atoms; Phosphorus s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Phosphorus is used quite often, we use it in many useful ways fo r example, white Phosphorus is used
in flares, it is also used in incendiary devices. Red Phosphorus is used in the material struck on the
side of the matchbox to light safety matches. Although the largest use of Phosphorus is in fertilizers,
this can be a problem that will be addressed in another passage. Phosphorus is also important in the
production of steel. Another useful way we use Phosphorus is in detergents which can also be a
problem and are started to be phased out in some countries. Phosphorus is also used in the production
of particular glass and fine chinaware. Another use that we take for granted is we use Phosphorus in
rat poisons. The last thing it is used for is in smoke screens (a cloud of smoke used to conceal military
options).
Biological Role.
Phosphorus is essential to all living things, including ourselves as it is responsible for producing sugar
phosphates which is in DNA and RNA. It is responsible for the energy transfer in cells. Us as humans
take in approximately 1 gram per day without even noticing, our body also stores 750 grams of
Phosphorus as our bones are mostly made out of calcium phosphate. Overuse of phosphates in
fertilizers and detergents can become a problem.

Summary Of Does America Still Exists By Richard Rodriguez
Richard Rodriguez, in his article, Does America Still Exists? states that America is the nation of united
diversity. It is a country where everyone is welcomed and treated equally. He expresses his confusion
about the real definition of America when he talks about how the people in America are into racism
and differences despite the country being made up of immigrants. The author asserts that America
does exist, first by defining America, and by showing the inter connection between people born from
different regions of the world. The responsibility of the people is to stop being racist and staying with
the people of own origin only but reaching out and mixing with others as one nation. Analysis:
Richard Rodriguez in his essay, Does America Still Exists? asserts that all citizens of America are
Americans despite the difference in their origin. The author narrates the story, using different
examples of interconnection between the different origins of people in America. He says, America was
born Protestant and bred Puritan, and the notion of community we share is derived from seventeenth
century faith...we are gathered together but as individuals, with separate pasts, distinct destinies. Our
society is as paradoxical as a Puritan congregation: we stand together alone (195). The author states

Analysis Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
Sometimes following a crowd isn t always a good. The theme of these two stories is about following a
crowd. You shouldn t follow a crowd, even if you think it is a good idea it could still end up very
badly. Like if you were at a party, and someone brings drugs or drinks and you are underage that is not
a good thing to be involved in, and not a group of people you should want to be around. The Lottery
by Shirley Jackson, is a short story about a town that gets together on June 27th on a sunny summer
day for the lottery. They all gather around and each person takes a slip of paper out of the black box,
and the person with the black dot on their paper wins . But you don t actually win, you get stoned to
death by all the people that you lived with in the town. First They Came by Martin Niemoller, is a
story about the Socialists, the Trade Union, the Jews, and Martin Niemoller. The Nazis started coming
for the Socialists, and Martin didn t say anything. The they came for the Trade Union, and Martin didn
t say anything. Then they came for the Jews, and Martin didn t say anything. And then they came for
Martin, and no one was there to help him, and why would they because he didn t try to help them.
Both The Lottery and First They Came deal with following a crowd, but they do so in different ways.
Surely, The Lottery is about following a crowd. For example, in paragraph two it talks about all the
boys and girls starting to gather around the town s center. Bobby Martin had already stuffed his
pockets full of stones, selecting the smoothest and roundest stones. Then Harry Jones and Dickie
Delacroix made a great pile of stones in the corner, and started putting some in their pockets like
Bobby Martin. All of the boys followed Bobby Martin because he is one of the older boys, and
because they thought it was the right thing to do. It was definitely not the right thing to do. What if
one of them were to get the black dot I beat they wouldn t enjoy if people already had rocks ready to
be thrown at them. Another example from the lottery is from paragraph one the people in the village
begin to gather in the square, between the post office and the bank at ten o clock. They all

Walt Elias Disney was born December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. When Walt was around ten years
Walt and his family moved to Kansas City. Walt s family consisted of his father (Elias Disney), his
mother (Flora Disney), and his four siblings (Roy, Raymond, Herbert, and Ruth). Walt was a kid who
cared less about school work, and more about having fun with it. He was known to draw on his
homework more than complete it. As he got older he started having jobs based around drawing.
Eventually, Walt decided to his own cartoon business (Greene). This small, inexperienced business is
what led to Mickey Mouse, then to various Disney movies, and to eventually to Disneyland.

High School Curriculum And Our Future
High School Curriculum and Our Future: When was the last time you thought about your future?
These days, many school systems are requiring their students to fill our career planning forms as
young as elementary school. By the time you have reached the high school level, you should have a
pretty good idea of what you want to do with your life. You may change your mind over time, but you
should at least be thinking about your future at this stage, because your future is approaching faster
than you might want to believe. Part of your concern should be on whether or not you are prepared to
face the real world when you step out of the doors of your high school for the last time. When you
receive your diploma in that graduation line, are you really going to be prepared to study at a
university or start working a regular job? If the answer is no, then your high school curriculum might
not be focusing on the future of the students. A high school curriculum that focuses on the future is a
high school curriculum that prepares students for the future. First, let s think about the different
versions of high school curriculums. All of them include the basics such as mathematics, English, and
so on. However, there are others that include computer applications, online coding,
business/economics mathematics, and more in depth subjects such as these. These more advanced
curriculums are taking into consideration the fact that students aren t going to grow up doing

Obi Wan And Ammon s Relationship Essay
All classic stories need a companion to the hero. Without this partner, the story would lack someone to
drive the story forward and to motivate the hero. The classic saga Star Wars and movie Clash of the

Perseus and Andromeda, the mentor relationship between Luke and Obi wan along with Perseus and

Obi wan and Ammon serve as mentors to the main heroes, both stumbling upon them during conflict
and providing advice and care. Luke and Perseus both start out fairly naive, but with the teachings of
Obi wan and Ammon they grow as heroes. Obi wan teaches Luke the ways of the jedi, and Ammon
teaches Perseus the ways of the hero. Both mentors save the heroes, Obi wan finding Luke after being

Data, Information, And Knowledge And How They Are...
Students Name: Marsil Hana
1. Describe the terms Data, Information, and Knowledge and how they are related to each other.
Data: is a collection of facts and studies, it can be thought of as a description of the world. For
example, when I say I have brown hair, hazel eyes and live in Chicago, those are all data.
Information: information is much more refined data, because it evolved to the point where it can be
useful and helpful to study a certain case or form of analysis.
Knowledge: it is basically what we know, maybe insights and facts that we ve learned in our life, or
some experience that we applied to data and information.
In my opinion, they are related to each other because everything started from facts and our knowledge
on specific topics and facts, and it all evolved to information and helpful data.
2. Describe 5 components of the database system and why they are important part of the system?
1 Data: it s very important because most companies and organizations generate, store and process
large amounts of data.
2 Hardware: it s also an important component because we store our data in the storage devices like
CD, DVD, floppy disk, and all the important parts like the processor and memory.
3 Software: it consists the DBMS that acts as a bridge between the user and DB. It also interacts with
the user through application and programs.

Modern Era And Its Impact On Society
A large percentage of ancient societies were developed around the concept of patriarchy. Maintaining
these societies was a man s work, females were solely there for childbearing purposes. Certain
Northern African societies defied societal norms of the time without consciously understanding that
they were doing so. Civilizations such as the Tuareg, Berbers and Egyptians all formed gender equal
societies. The men and women of these societies lived separate lives, each with their own distinct
duties. Despite these differences they were understood to be equal at a fundamentally basic level that
other groups of the time did not comprehend. Women in select ancient North African societies were
valued by their cultures and given significant duties in their civilization which saw them as equal
members.
Matriarchy can be defined as A society in which women not only have equality with men, but also
control, power and dominance or additionally the exact opposite of patriarchy. It has been
significantly debated by researchers whether or not matriarchal societies ever existed. This doubt is
primarily based upon the lack of matriarchal societies in modern era and a significant lack of primary
sources from the generations where these societies could have existed. Northern African societies such
as Egyptians, Berbers and Tuaregs had a system of equality in their cultures, whether matriarchal,
patriarchal or neither. These societies were not based upon women nor men ruling them,

Complex Interrelationship Among The Cardiovascular System
There is a complex interrelationship among the cardiovascular system, the central nervous system
(Na+, appetite and thirst regulation), the kidneys, and the tissue capillary beds distribution of
extracellular fluid volume). Any change at any of these sites affects the function at other sites. There is
a basic law of kidneys that Na+ excretion is directly proportional to mean arterial blood pressure
(MABP). A marginal increase in MABP causes significant increase in Na+ excretion. Redistribution
of blood flow between outer cortex and medulla alters salt and water excretion. The majority of Na+
ion is reabsorbed by the thick ascending loop of Henley, the length of loop of Henley effects the
amount of Na+ reabsorbed.

  • 2. The Anti-War and Hippie Movements From the late 1950s to the late 1970s a phenomenon erupted over the United States. A proud counter culture was born in the midst of the Vietnam War. Many people protested against the Vietnam War and the horrors that many people saw on TV because of it. Many incidents triggered the Anti War movement and the Hippie counter culture such as the growing United States involvement in Southern Vietnam, the gruesome images that the evening news showed uncensored, the draft that caused many thousands of men to lose their lives and their minds as the end result of the war. This war triggered a great sense of what is right and wrong in specifically young people. Social justice and moral justice were some of the main focal points of the Anti War and Hippie movements. This war allowed teenagers and young adults to have power in what they believe in and to stand up against unjust killings of our men and innocent lives in Vietnam. The eighteen year span of the war from 1956 1975 saw the rise and eventually the fall of the anti war movement and the hippie movement. The Vietnam War was one of the most hated wars in United States history, for the primary reasons that we did not win and the draft destroyed countless men, physically and mentally. The end result of the war did not justify the means and this made a lot of people very upset. This war was also the most televised war, showing incredibly gruesome, uncensored images on the evening news at dinner time. The political protest for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Visit by Friedrich Durrenmatt Friedrich Durrenmatt, like Samuel Beckett, became a prominent writer that wrote about human nature after World War II. The Visit, for instance, is about an impoverished town that is in need of money. The town realizes on Ill, who is a main character, to call a friend and ask for a favor, and he does. Claire, Ill s friend, places an ironic twist on the requirement in order to get the money, which is someone must kill Ill, but by the end of the play someone does kill Ill. In general, the play depicts the idea that it is human nature to do anything in order to survive. Due to Friedrich Durrenmatt s various techniques when writing the play, the reader gets a town comparable to Germany during the 1930s and 1940s. Friedrich Durrenmatt s techniques were used to foreshadow the play and to depict the condition and choices of Germany before and during World War II from a logical view. For example, the black panther, which is one of the most profound symbols throughout the play, is Claire s pet. She brings it with her to Guellen in a cage. The panther is the symbolic foreshadow of Ill s life in this play, and Claire refers to Ill several times by the nickname black panther . The butler proclaims, The black panther escaped, Madam. (58) The black panther escapes around the same time she offers the million dollar. Like the black panther, Ill is trying to escape Guellen before someone kills him, which is similar to Jews trying to escape Germany during the 1930s before Hitler s ... A successful OSH risk management strategy must be driven by senior Management. This is the level of management mandated to make critical decisions on policy development of an organization. Risk management is most effective when it is integrated into the initial stages of business and strategic planning. In Australia the public service legislation places an emphasis on high levels of professional leadership and expertise; and performance management, and accountability in devolved management framework (Commonwealth of Australia, 2005). In a study done to establish safety standards in Borabu District in Kenya it was found that 36% of head teachers indicated that Board of Governors were uncooperative in improving safety standards. (Migiro, 2012). Training institutions like other organizations must be led by senior management that is committed to safety. 2.3.1.2 Active Involvement of all workers Active involvement of all workers in the workplace ensures success of any OHS management program, and helps to develop a safety culture in the workplace. The fifth edition of DSM, however, defined trauma as extreme threatening and distressing events involving actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. In order to include more revisionist perspectives, which better portray my own, I used research collected by other historians to discover the different aspects of United States involvement. The most difficult aspect of history is that there is no correct or straightforward answer. All history is interpreted differently by the different people involved which leads to biases. For this reason, there is no guarantee that the information will ever be entirely objective. • 9. Percy Harrison Fawcett Research Paper Blank spots on a map leave even the most uninterested curious; calling them in ways most would not understand. Unexplored lands and oceans inspire thousands to venture into the unknown, no matter the level of experience. Those who feel the pull cannot ignore it and would give up everything just to feel the thrill of the adventure. Percy Harrison Fawcett, born on the 18th of August of 1867, was one of those who had felt the pull and just could not resist. Fawcett took on the Amazon, specifically El Dorado, the city of gold. Close to nothing was known about the Amazon before he went in. Percy Fawcett was one of the greatest explorers the world has ever seen. To be a good explorer one must have confidence, passion, and courage. In the book, Lost City of Z , author, David Grann, continuously presents examples of Fawcett being a great explorer by possessing these traits. In 1925, Percy Fawcett sets out to the Amazon to find El Dorado and though he does not return, he gets far enough in such a way that we as the readers can truly understand what makes a good explorer. For the duration of the novel, through Grann, Fawcett proves how confidence (such as his own), is a necessary trait for a successful explorer to have. For example, Nina Fawcett, Percy Fawcett s wife, told the Royal Geographical Society about Fawcett s faith in himself and his own skill set. Nina states, Major Fawcett contemplated cutting through 100 miles of forest... in a month (123). Especially without the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Incans created terraces to grow their crops on. They built terraces on the hillsides for two reasons. First to make hillsides flat and second to suit the different altitude requirements of different plants. By building the terraces on the sides of mountains the Incans also enabled their crops to get more sunlight instead of planting in the shaded valleys. The terraces were formed with stone walls and included steps to move from one level to the next. The stone walls prevented erosion. His mother Cornelia was a woman of wide culture who employed Greek tutors to educate her sons, Tiberius and Gaius. Two tutors who influenced Tiberius at a young age were Diophanes, a teacher of oration and Blossius of Cumae, a philosopher. The land was to be distributed to roman citizens up to a maximum of 30 iugera who had to pay a small rent. Gracchus became very popular with the normal citizen who received land, however as the majority of large land owners were senators, he alienated himself form them. Gracchus did not consult the senate regarding this measure and instead brought it before the popular assembly. His reason for doing so might have been that he believed it would get bogged down in the senate, as it was a bill directly affecting their finances or perhaps it was because he only had one year to act and realized the immediate need for reform. However Tiberius had friends in the senate and it is possible that the bill may have got through if he had followed procedure and if the senators put the needs of the republic before their own. When the bill was brought before the Concilium Plebis, it was vetoed by fellow tribune M. Octavius, a large holder of public land. After pleading with Octavius to withdraw his veto, Tiberius asked the people for the removal of Octavius as tribune. No matter the amount or cost some people have the tendency to obtain as much as they can get, because they can never have enough stuff. The character of Madame Mithilde Loisel from the short story, The Necklace, without a doubt has this trait. Monsieur and Madame (M. and Mme.) Loisel are a couple living in Paris. Mme. Loisel, although beautiful, is very unhappy with the life she has been given. One day, M. Loisel receives an invite to a nighttime ball, but Mme. Loisel refuses to go unless she has something marvelous to showcase herself with. Her husband manages to obtain a dress for her, and she manages to get a necklace from an old friend, Mme. Forestier. Although she is in the middle to low class part of society, she believes that she has the right to everything for her to be perfect. It is said that she is stunning and absolutely beautiful, but she [felt] that she had been born for all of the little necessities and luxuries for living (Maupassant, 70). The blindness of her beauty and her dreams of riches lead to the conflict within the story. When invited to attend a ball with her husband, Mme. Some of us may never know why certain people are placed in our lives at any given time but this one time I am grateful for having a friend who was gracious enough to allow me to share her experience in writing this essay. My friend felt cheating was the right thing to do because she has been doing it since grade school. I will define academic dishonesty as a form of cheating and plagiarism. • 15. The Entanglement Of Opposing Forces In William... The Entanglement of Opposing Forces When there is light, there is shadow. This is true with William Shakespeares Macbeth as the main character of the same name is slowly transformed into a malevolent person that can only be stopped by the light of another character, Macduff. Macbeth and Macduff rely on each other as opposing forces in the play but cannot coexist because of the parallels between them. The surge of power to Macbeth through evil turmoil gives purpose and presence to Macduff s character. Macduff and Macbeth s characters are foils of each other representing two parallels of initially similar characters. Only one of the characters can survive because of the hatred created by the contrast between the two. Therefore, one will always persevere over the other. As Macbeth rises in power, Macduff s role in the play becomes more prominent. Macbeths first major villainous deed was killing Duncan. In the next scene after the murder, Macduff is introduced to the audience. In the following quote Macduff has a conversation with Macbeth and his only concern is going to see the king: MACDUFF. Atwood shines light on the situation by stating one of the main reasons human trafficking occurs is because there was only so much food to go around (Atwood 117). • 17. My Experience At The Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League... With the blow of a whistle, practice comes to a grinding halt. Tired young men remove their helmets and gasp for air in the early but oppressive Florida summer. I gather with the rest of the coaching staff and together we prepare one of our final talks to the team before they battle in the Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League Championship game. In the six months leading to this final surge, myself and the other coaches have worked to instill four key traits into our players: teamwork, dedication, integrity, and respect. It is these four qualities, we believe, that will allow them to develop a fifth quality, technical competence, and take them to the top of their sport. More importantly, it is these four traits that we believe will transform them into mature young men and prepare them for the rigors of life off of the field. Many of my life s most significant events coincided with my coaching career. I opened a business, went back to school, and even met my wife. It also marks the period of my life when I began a maturation process, albeit several years overdue. Prior to the start of my coaching, I stumbled from one phase of my life to another, my immaturity and lack of direction fueling each other in a vicious cycle. The Longman Anthology of British Literature says, More than any other nineteenth century figure, Browning shaped the poetry of the twentieth, influencing British and American poets from, Hardy and Yeats to Elliot, Pound, Frost, Lowell, and Stevens (1322). One of Robert Browning s specialties was dramatic monologues. In his dramatic monologues, Browning develops his characters really well. Throughout the monologue Browning shows the true character of the person by not only what the character is speaking, but also by idiomatic language, patterns of imagery, speech rhythms, and unintended ironies (The Longman Anthology of British Literature, 1323). A good example of one of Browning s dramatic monologues is The Bishop Orders His Tomb at Saint Praxed s Church. In this monologue the main character is a Bishop who is trying to order a very extravagant tomb for himself. Browning did such an excellent job at the Bishop s character development that John Ruskin said that there is not any other writing that portrays the Renaissance spirit its worldliness, inconsistency pride, hypocrisy, ignorance of itself, love of art, of luxury, and of good Latin (The Longman Anthology of British Literature, 1332). Children are considered a nation s future and family violence leaves negative remarks on children. The negative impacts and experiences disrupt young children from contributing to the maximum in the society and fill in their role. Family is a first institution of socialization. According to the FBI, mass shootings (defined as shooting events that kill at least four people) occur approximately every two weeks in the United States (Manson). This baffling trend has left families and communities devastated with some having no concrete answers as to why exactly they lost their loved ones to these tragedies. Why have there been so many school shootings recently? Questions such as this must be answered, and they must be answered soon. My answer to this problem is that the media spends far too much time covering these incidents and gives the killers the attention they seek. If they simply stop giving the killers that attention, the number of school shooting will drastically decrease. After every school shooting, most people can personally witness how certain parties and groups jump in and use the tragedy to promote their suggestions or push their political agendas. During this time, gun control advocates campaign for stricter gun laws. Mental health advocates use this chance to bring up the faults within our healthcare system. Although these groups do bring up some valid arguments, none of them can be labeled as the primary cause of so many school shootings. I believe the reason that is to blame for the majority of these school shootings is the insane media coverage of the shootings and the killers because it gives the killers the attention that they seek. • 32. Summary Of Does America Still Exists By Richard Rodriguez Richard Rodriguez, in his article, Does America Still Exists? states that America is the nation of united diversity. It is a country where everyone is welcomed and treated equally. He expresses his confusion about the real definition of America when he talks about how the people in America are into racism and differences despite the country being made up of immigrants. The author asserts that America does exist, first by defining America, and by showing the inter connection between people born from different regions of the world. The responsibility of the people is to stop being racist and staying with the people of own origin only but reaching out and mixing with others as one nation. Analysis: Richard Rodriguez in his essay, Does America Still Exists? asserts that all citizens of America are Americans despite the difference in their origin. The author narrates the story, using different examples of interconnection between the different origins of people in America. He says, America was born Protestant and bred Puritan, and the notion of community we share is derived from seventeenth century faith...we are gathered together but as individuals, with separate pasts, distinct destinies. Our society is as paradoxical as a Puritan congregation: we stand together alone (195). The author states that people from all backgrounds live in in the country as ... • 33. Analysis Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson Sometimes following a crowd isn t always a good. The theme of these two stories is about following a crowd. You shouldn t follow a crowd, even if you think it is a good idea it could still end up very badly. Like if you were at a party, and someone brings drugs or drinks and you are underage that is not a good thing to be involved in, and not a group of people you should want to be around. The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, is a short story about a town that gets together on June 27th on a sunny summer day for the lottery. They all gather around and each person takes a slip of paper out of the black box, and the person with the black dot on their paper wins . But you don t actually win, you get stoned to death by all the people that you lived with in the town. First They Came by Martin Niemoller, is a story about the Socialists, the Trade Union, the Jews, and Martin Niemoller. The Nazis started coming for the Socialists, and Martin didn t say anything. The they came for the Trade Union, and Martin didn t say anything. Then they came for the Jews, and Martin didn t say anything. And then they came for Martin, and no one was there to help him, and why would they because he didn t try to help them. Both The Lottery and First They Came deal with following a crowd, but they do so in different ways. Surely, The Lottery is about following a crowd. For example, in paragraph two it talks about all the boys and girls starting to gather around the town s center. Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, selecting the smoothest and roundest stones. Then Harry Jones and Dickie Delacroix made a great pile of stones in the corner, and started putting some in their pockets like Bobby Martin. All of the boys followed Bobby Martin because he is one of the older boys, and because they thought it was the right thing to do. It was definitely not the right thing to do. What if one of them were to get the black dot I beat they wouldn t enjoy if people already had rocks ready to be thrown at them. Another example from the lottery is from paragraph one the people in the village begin to gather in the square, between the post office and the bank at ten o clock. They all ... • 35. High School Curriculum And Our Future High School Curriculum and Our Future: When was the last time you thought about your future? These days, many school systems are requiring their students to fill our career planning forms as young as elementary school. By the time you have reached the high school level, you should have a pretty good idea of what you want to do with your life. You may change your mind over time, but you should at least be thinking about your future at this stage, because your future is approaching faster than you might want to believe. Part of your concern should be on whether or not you are prepared to face the real world when you step out of the doors of your high school for the last time. When you receive your diploma in that graduation line, are you really going to be prepared to study at a university or start working a regular job? If the answer is no, then your high school curriculum might not be focusing on the future of the students. A high school curriculum that focuses on the future is a high school curriculum that prepares students for the future. First, let s think about the different versions of high school curriculums. All of them include the basics such as mathematics, English, and so on. However, there are others that include computer applications, online coding, business/economics mathematics, and more in depth subjects such as these. • 37. Obi Wan And Ammon s Relationship Essay All classic stories need a companion to the hero. Without this partner, the story would lack someone to drive the story forward and to motivate the hero. The classic saga Star Wars and movie Clash of the Titans share this common theme. This can be seen in the romantic duos Han and Leia along side Perseus and Andromeda, the mentor relationship between Luke and Obi wan along with Perseus and Ammon, and the owner relationship with Luke with R2D2 and Perseus with Pegasus. Firstly, the romantic relationships of Han and Leia and Perseus and Andromeda are remembered in culture and in history. Han and Leia are an iconic couple from the Star Wars saga, and lovers Perseus and Andromeda are memorialized in the stars. Leia and Andromeda are both princesses ... Luke and Perseus both start out fairly naive, but with the teachings of Obi wan and Ammon they grow as heroes. Obi wan teaches Luke the ways of the jedi, and Ammon teaches Perseus the ways of the hero. Both mentors save the heroes, Obi wan finding Luke after being attacked by sand people and saving him. Ammon finds Perseus after being dropped in an unknown place by Zeus. Both these mentors direct the heroes towards their goal, Obi wan directing Luke towards Yoda and his end goal of defeating Darth Vader, and Ammon advising Perseus on how to defeat the Kraken. They both essentially drive the plot forward, giving the main heroes direction. These mentors also act as parental figures in the absence of the heroes, Luke having no parents ( to his knowledge, in the first half of the saga) and losing his aunt and uncle, and Perseus never having met his father and separated from his mother. These two relationships between Luka and Obi wan and Perseus and Ammon are the main reasons the heroes have development and go on their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Modern Era And Its Impact On Society A large percentage of ancient societies were developed around the concept of patriarchy. Maintaining these societies was a man s work, females were solely there for childbearing purposes. Certain Northern African societies defied societal norms of the time without consciously understanding that they were doing so. Civilizations such as the Tuareg, Berbers and Egyptians all formed gender equal societies. The men and women of these societies lived separate lives, each with their own distinct duties. Despite these differences they were understood to be equal at a fundamentally basic level that other groups of the time did not comprehend. Women in select ancient North African societies were valued by their cultures and given significant duties in their civilization which saw them as equal members. Matriarchy can be defined as A society in which women not only have equality with men, but also control, power and dominance or additionally the exact opposite of patriarchy. It has been significantly debated by researchers whether or not matriarchal societies ever existed. This doubt is primarily based upon the lack of matriarchal societies in modern era and a significant lack of primary sources from the generations where these societies could have existed. Northern African societies such as Egyptians, Berbers and Tuaregs had a system of equality in their cultures, whether matriarchal, patriarchal or neither. These societies were not based upon women nor men ruling them, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Complex Interrelationship Among The Cardiovascular System There is a complex interrelationship among the cardiovascular system, the central nervous system (Na+, appetite and thirst regulation), the kidneys, and the tissue capillary beds distribution of extracellular fluid volume). Any change at any of these sites affects the function at other sites. There is a basic law of kidneys that Na+ excretion is directly proportional to mean arterial blood pressure (MABP). A marginal increase in MABP causes significant increase in Na+ excretion. Redistribution of blood flow between outer cortex and medulla alters salt and water excretion. The majority of Na+ ion is reabsorbed by the thick ascending loop of Henley, the length of loop of Henley effects the amount of Na+ reabsorbed. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
