Twisted Sister Transcendentalism
The song We re Not Gonna Take It by Twisted sister there are a lot of different transcendental
elements that people don t really know about hidden inside the song. In the song it shows
confidence, self reliance, individuality, and nonconformity. Twisted Sister wrote the song to
stand up for yourself and make sure you do something about it. In the song We re Not Gonna
Take It by Twisted Sister the lyrics say Your life is trite and jaded boring and confiscated if that s
your best, your best won t do. The point of this line is to say that stop being boring cause that isn

self reliance cause you have to be the one to tell yourself to

Meatloaf For My Family Research Paper
I do not cook very much but I have learned to cook meatloaf for my family and they love it!
I make a trip to the store to get the items that I need and once I am back home I begin to prepare
my meatloaf by mixing the main ingredients in a large bowl and that includes: hamburger meat,
milk, bread and/or crackers, and a few eggs. This helps hold the meat together and to keep it moist.
I prefer to crumble up fresh bread pieces myself.
Make sure to get some hamburger meat that has some fat in it so that your meatloaf isn t too dry.
I dice up some onions, carrots and peppers to put in my meatloaf to give it more flavor and to also
help to keep it moist. You can cook them before adding them if you want
I place aluminum foil in a medium Pyrex glass bowl and input my mixture into this and make it
into a loaf. The actual best pans is the pans that are an actual loaf and used only for meatloaf.
These pans usually drain the grease from it too but the glass bowl works just fine too. ... Show more

The Cost-Effective Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization...
The Cost effectiveness Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization Program for the United States article
was performed to estimate the economic impact of a national rotavirus immunization program. The
research question being addressed is if the implementation of a rotavirus vaccine program would be
beneficial and cost effective. These are policy relevant questions because it will determine if a
rotavirusvaccine program will be cost effective and valuable enough to employ. These research
questions are not only relevant to healthcare providers, but doctors, hospitals, the vaccine users, and
society as a whole.
Decision analysis is an appropriate method for this case study because the decision to be made is
operations focused and not tactical, it is impartial rather than subjective, and it is repetitive rather
than infrequent. Decision analysis looks to identify the most appropriate alternative outcomes and
occurs at a give point in time in a process. Additionally, it takes the view point of the organization in
decision making, opposed to an individual standpoint.
Date included in the study consisted of the number of doctor and emergency room visits, the
number of incidences, rotavirus infections, mortality estimates, hospitalizations statistics, hospital
discharge data, affected children, and vaccine coverage. Medical costs of the rotavirus are
compromised of inpatient and outpatient treatment, room charges for hospitalization, emergency
department care, vaccination

The, That Makes Your Hair Disappear
312.39: The Trich That Makes Your Hair Disappear Jennifer Raikes, the president of
Trichotillomania Learning Center, recalls that, The rhythm of running my fingers over my
eyebrows is soothing. One half of my mind is attuned to the texture of each hair, the tickle against
my thumb. Very soon, she would feel that ... this hairfeels out of place; it s too thick, too coarse. I
need to get it out. This is the urge that has been haunting her since her childhood. As she entered her
adulthood, she learned that she is not the only one with trichotillomania, the impulse control
disorder that urges one to pull out his or her hairs. In fact, trichotillomania is plaguing the lives of
one in every fifty Americans (Raikes 38). This disorder... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lastly, Criterion D and Criterion E demand that the hair pulling cannot be associated with any other
type of medical disorder or conditions (American Psychiatric Association, 251 252). Since the action
of excessive hair pulling can be attributed to delusion or hallucination caused by psychological
disorders like schizophrenia, physicians must test for the existence of other mental conditions
before diagnosing a patient s symptoms as trichotillomania. Diagnosing trichotillomania definitely
requires caution and precision (Thackery and Harris, 998 1001). An early diagnosis of
trichotillomania becomes important because trichotillomania can cause temporary and permanent
damage to the human body. For example, uncontrolled hair pulling can lead to skin bleeding. In
severe cases, infections can affect the bleeding areas, causing serious damage to the skin
(Phillipson and Gibson). Patients may also swallow the hairs that are removed from the body,
causing hair clusters to form inside the stomach. This condition, called trichophagia, can lead to
stomach pain or even stomach bleeding ( Trichotillomania ). Other forms of damage caused by
uncontrolled hair pulling may include short and broken hairs, damaged hair follicles, and increased
existence of non growing hairs. These are common harms of trichotillomania that may have the

Fritz Lang M Film Techniques
The film M by Fritz Lang (1931) is a timeless masterpiece that not only reflects the fear and
distrust present in German society after WWI, but also uses sound in ways it had never been
used befor. M was made during a time of paranoia in Germany, set against the backdrop of a
rapidly deteriorating Weimar Republic. The country was in the midst of heightened poverty due
to unemployment and increasing criminal activity after the stock market crash of 1929. It was
also a time where psychopathic serial killers were at large in German cities. In the film, the panic
felt by the townspeople to try and catch the murderer, and the paranoia that it could be anyone
among them, is reflective of the fearful emotions felt by the German people during the early
1930s. The use of high camera angles show the vulnerability and innocence of the children, the
murderer s victims. The use of shadows and reflections show that the murderer has two sides, and
it is because of these two varying characters that he can walk amongst society unknown for what he
is. For example, when the townspeople see a man telling a little girl what time it is, they
immediately assume he must be the murderer. Because of their paranoia, they jump to conclusions,

These fears arose from the global recession due to the stock market crash in 1929, where
unemployment, poverty, and crime greatly increased, and from the rapid decline of their
government. M was also Fritz Lang s first sound picture, and he therefore had the opportunity to
use sound in ways that had not been done before. He used sound, and silence, to help shape the
mood and tone of the film, making the emotions and the message he was portraying that much
more effective. By doing so, Lang created a film that will remain as one of the greatest films of all

Summary OfShopping By Joyce Oates And Fish Cheeks
Lessons Learned: Mothers as Teachers in two Short Fiction Works. In the short stories Shopping
by Joyce Oates and Fish Cheeks by Amy Tan, I discovered a connection in both stories about
mothers love. Both show a gratitude of reasons on how and why mothers love is present. Both
stories have a completely different morals but both come together into one meaning; mothers love.
In the short story Shopping by Joyce Oates, we experience the mother, Mrs. Dietrich, doing multiple
things for her daughter, Nola, such as buying her expensive clothing. The author agrees when she
writes, ...though the sweater by Sergio Valente, even drastically reduced, is certainly not cheap.

During the scene when Mrs. Dietrich keeps a closed tongue when Nola becomes snippy. She
works very hard to not say things out of anger. The author reports that, ...But she sits stiff, turning
her wineglass between her fingers. Mrs. Dietrich is afraid her daughter will leave the restaurant,
simply walk away; that has happened before and if it happens today she doesn t know what she
will do. Mothers work hard, physically and mentally.
With working hard, comes compassion and lessons learned. In both stories, we see a big similarity
tough love and lessons learned. In Fish Cheeks by Amy tan we see this in a silent lesson. As they
invite the ministers family over for Christmas Eve dinner, the mother has a treat for them. They
are a chinese family and they don t celebrate it with the old fashioned turkey and mashed potatoes,
which the daughter, Amy, is nervous about for she has a major crush on the minister s son. She
becomes embarrassed about her heritage and says, I wanted to disappear (Tan). Towards the end of
the story, when the minister s family leaves, the mother pulls Amy aside and states, You want to be
the same as American girls on the outside.. But inside you must always be Chinese. You must be
proud you are different. Your only shame is to have shame. and response to her mother, Amy agrees

Review Of The Last Of The Mohicans
Tayseer Abdelsalam
12/15/16
Early American Literature: Critique #3
The Book vs The Movie The main difference between, The Last of the Mohicans, book by James
Fenimore Cooper and the last of the Mohicans movie, is that the book has a more adventurous
theme and the moive has a more romantic and love them. I felt that both stories were extremely
interesting.
Due to the text s complexityz and the author s peculiar writing style, it took me quite a while to
get into the story, thus reducing my reading speed considerably. But, once I was one third into the
book, I started to really enjoy it and, as the narrative became more and more complex, I became
aware of how much the book and the movie differ.
I think that the most shocking difference between the book and the movie is the relationship
between Hawk eye, the scout, and Duncan, the major. If in Mann s movie there s hatred between
La Longue Carabine (aka Hawk eye) and Duncan Heyward, in Cooper s book their relationship is
based on respect and both are willing to give their lives in order to save the others.

Another difference is the relationship between Hawk eye and Chingachgook and, respectively,

The Theme Of Faith In Mania Salinger s The Storyteller
The Storyteller has four parallel stories. Sage is a brilliant baker who works at night, living a
limited lonely life in a small town. She keeps a scar on her face hidden, is involved in a hopeless
romantic affair, and is drawn to Josef, a beloved neighbourhood old timer who frequently visits
the bakery. Minka grows up in Lodz and is forced into the ghetto with her family. Eventually she
is sent on a transport to Auschwitz and we closely follow the impossible hardships she endures
and ultimately survives. Franz and Reiner are two German brothers different as can be; one a
serious sensitive student, the other a fighter; both end up in the SS. Meanwhile we read Minka s
fiction, chapters of a dark Gothic romance about a baker s daughter and two demon brothers who
terrorize a village. Minka s biography is compiled from multiple survivors, including various
threads from Mania Salinger s own memoir, Looking Back. Picoult says Mania reminds her of her
own grandma. Salinger was eager to read The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It raises the question of Faith, through the character of Mary, who was a nun before and
renounced her position to follow God spiritually and not just religiously. The question is reiterated
when Sage tells that her mother would ask her to find good in every person, religion has nothing to
do with it. It is also showcased when Ania actually gives shelter to the upior Alek. When the world
saw him only as an animal who killed thirteen people, they ignored the fact that he killed only those
who had committed enough sins to be punished. The next question that arises is that of time, it is
beautifully experimented with as Picoult simultaneously knits three stories together, the story of
Minka, the story of Sage and the story of Ania. They all are intrinsically knit and yet retain their
individuality. The behaviour of the characters in the three stories, categorically define the times

A Report On London Renting Market
The purpose of this report is to examine London renting market and all features related to it.
Over the last decade the rent of property in London has enlarged dramatically. As London became
one of the leading economical city in the world, it has attracted an array of different people,
including professional employees, families, tourists and investors. However, they were all
overwhelmed by the cost of living. Even the natives are moving outside the city to cut the
expenses of rent. The major problem of excessive pricing is that people might emigrate or choose
other city instead of London. In this coursework will be discussed the demand and supply of rent
in London, immigration and emigration, factors that might influence the collapse of market,
suggestions to the UK parliament how to avoid it and compare the London with other cities. This
analysis will be vital for all arriving individuals along with resident. Since London is one of the
world centers, people should realize that the cost of living will be higher compared to other cities.
Rent in London As progressively more people were coming to the country the market could not
ensure a renting accommodation. Therefore, the price has increased several times. Rooms over the
ВЈ1,000 a month mark still only make up six per cent of the market in inner London, but that s
doubled in just five years, (Battersby 2016). At the same time, rooms under ВЈ500 are heading
rapidly towards the brink of extinction... huge demand for affordable

The Aspects Of Decision Making In The Television Industry
Most decisions are made with analysis, but some are judgment calls not susceptible to analysis

As the producer in charge of technical operations for our group, I had to decide if it was even
possible to accept this work. My challenge was was twofold: could I put together the talent
necessary to support this work and could I design a method of finishing these shows in a way
that would meet their schedule and budget. In light of the extremely compressed time frame
given to do so, my initial reaction was we could not. A typical workflow testing and onboarding
schedule spans several weeks. We had less than one week to decide whether to accept the work
as the client had just received network delivery dates for his first show. All post production,
regardless of the type of project, shares a common set of processes. Our department s method of
edit color mix delivery is geared toward finishing short pieces with chaotic schedules. Typical
broadcast finishing tilts toward longer schedules with more regimented turnovers and asset control.
After meeting with the client s head of post production to discuss their needs, my estimation of
unscripted broadcast finishing was that it lived in between. Encouraged I had found a parallel to
build upon, I spent a day quizzing my counterparts in the Broadcast Services group about the
correspondence in finishing techniques between our groups and started sketching out a workflow.
The more difficult question to answer was one of logistics: who in our group could do the

Foreshadowing In Oedipus The King
Foreshadowing is a tool used by playwrights and authors of all types as a means to direct the
audience into a path of questioning and intrigue throughout the course of a novel or play. After
reading both of these theatrical works, it struck me just how often I dismiss/fail to acknowledge
the big red flags stuck within the ground of the text and thus proceed to give myself incredibly
undeserved credit at the end of every reading for having figured out what was going to happen all
by myself . Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to examine the importance of this technique in
order to credit the playwrights and show how their use of foreshadowing creates tension, credibility
and a specific atmosphere in both of their fictitious worlds. Oedipus... Show more content on

The Importance Of Abolishing The Penny

transactions: the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, fifty cent and dollar coin. While we rarely ever
see the fifty cent or dollar coin, the penny is one of the most widely recognizable and minted
coin in the United States, accounting for almost 55% of the coins minted every year. But the
growing debate of keeping or abolishing the penny has become a real hot pot between the two
sides. This essay will side with the abolishment of the penny and go into detail as to why it
should be abolished. Many bills have been proposed as of late but none was as head turning as US

The body has two faces, the cis face which fuses with incoming transport vesicles, and the trans
face which excretes the secretory vesicles. The cis face fuses with vesicles coming from the ER
effectively from many directions due to its convex shape, whereas the concave trans face can
direct the secretory vesicles to their destination. When fusing with the cis face, the transport
vesicles release their proteins to be absorbed for modification. Each cisternal layer of the Golgi
body holds different enzymes which each modify the passing proteins in separate ways. Between
the layers the proteins are moved through the gaps by small vesicles. When a protein has been
modified correctly, it leaves the Golgi body via secretory vesicles which then carry the modified
proteins to the cell membrane or another organelle. The proteins that are transported to the cell
membrane are either excreted from the cell, or absorbed into the membrane to aid with its function.
Some of the secretory vesicles which hold hydrolytic enzymes stay within the cytoplasm and
function as lysosomes.
Lysosomes.
Lysosomes are specialized vesicles that are created by the Golgi body. Their role is to digest any
worn out, excess or unwanted bodies within the cell. This could include bacteria or viruses as well
as mitochondria which are no longer effective. To do this they contain an

Analysis Of Bolsa Familia Springs From A Long Tradition Of...
Bolsa Familia springs from a long tradition of welfare and development strategies in Latin America.
Economic and social development are of central concern to governments and development agencies
worldwide due to their direct link to equality. This can be explained through the well defined link
between income levels and health, education and nutritional outcomes, emphasizing the importance
of addressing inequality in order to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Thus, reducing
inequality is central to the success of policy initiatives, as the Bolsa Familia s strong focus on
developing human capital is what makes it a poverty reduction program rather than a social
assistance one (Fitzbein et al, 2009: 11). Targeting development... Show more content on

Figure 1: Social security, health, and education expenditure in Brazil
Source: Haggard and Kaufmann, 2008: 388.
Welfare can be defined as the minimum level of responsibility of the state for its citizens this is
what I will attribute to social security in Figure one. Welfare can be in the form of a steady base
transfer, in order to provide ongoing, or short term payments to alleviate financial hardship. In
contrast, human capital accumulation (HCA) can be attributed to investments in education and
health (Figure 1). HCA is the increased education, health and productivity of potential workers, to
which social security is only a precondition. It is a central driver of human and economic
development. Thus, Bolsa Familia s conditionality is what distinguishes it from a welfare scheme to
a poverty assistance scheme. Furthermore, the conditionality aspect of cash transfers is what
assures requirements regarding human capital accumulation will be met.
CCTs are a site of convergence of international and statist development policy initiatives, which are
played out at the community level by administrators and agents on the ground. Thus, Bolsa
Familia is led by governments, endorsed by the World Bank, and implemented by local authorities.
CCTs are seen as an alternative to more traditional and paternalistic approaches to social assistance
(de la Briere and Rawlings, 2006: 6). It is this level of decentralisation which contributes to their
appeal on both the

Trap Shootings
Trap Shooting Most people don t know this, but a lot of schools have a trap team. BGM has a trap
shooting team called BGM Shotgunners, or BGM Trap Team. Beginners might want to get used to
shooting guns first. They also will want to figure out which brand or kind of gun you like. Other
experienced shooters will just want to buy the gunof their choice. There are trap guns just for trap,
or you can get a 20 gauge or 12 gauge shotgun. The only difference between the two is the recoil
or kick and that one is also heavier than the other because it is more powerful. They also have
different types of glasses for this sport. They each are for a different kind of day. For example
the yellow ones are for a darker cloudier day. Trap shooting originated from England and has been
a largely growing and popular sport ever since. Even though most schools don t have a trap range
or trap field, they may use a range that is open to public schools for shooting practice. Trap
shooting is the oldest shotgun shooting sport in America. People used to use real pigeons for trap
shooting. Back in 1880, George Ligowsky invented the clay target. Later in 1885, the first national

All Men Are Created Equal Dbq
All men are created equal , though this would be a fact of the Western World society today, it was
certainly not always that way. With the beginning of slavery in the 1600s, to becoming the main
cause of the Civil War and abolishment of it, here is slavery; from the Union s point of view.
The earliest form of slavery in North America can be traced back to Jamestown, Virginia in 1619.
There, they were called the Twenty and Odd and considered servants rather than slaves. Though
little is known about this infamous event, this trade continued of capturing Africans from Africa
and bringing them to the colonies of Britain. The usage of slaves increased and were often used as
field laborers on plantations, house workers, blacksmiths ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They had more supplies, better outfits and an efficient way to make weapons compared to the
South. By the end of the war, there were roughly 198,000 African Americans in the Civil War.
This was a controversy for not only some of the Union who refused to fight alongside an African
American, but also for the South who would see them in combat. There were disputes among both
sides over the Union taking slaves from the South and ultimately rescuing them. Though the North
claimed it was legal, considering slaves were property and both sides were allowed to raid and
confiscate property from each other. This was particular accomplishment on the Union s half, for it
took the Confederate s words and used them against them.
The Union won the war and slavery was officially abolished with the thirteenth amendment in 1865.
This great accomplishment brought America one step closer to equality, though there is still work

Question 1 : Which strategic action Disney took in terms of consumer focused initiative? Give
examples.
Walter Elias Walt Disney (December 5, 1901 December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur,
cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He and his staff created numerous famous
fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. These cartoon characters
became so famous that he designed theme park for the entertainment of children and family in
U.S.A. Disney then thought to spread the theme parks around the world. Therefore Disney theme
parks were opened first in Tokyo, Japan called Disney Resort which became sucuessful by luck.
The second theme park was opened in Paris called Disneyland Paris which became unsuccessful
because of the cultural differences between U.S and Paris. Keeping this problem in mind, Disney
opened third theme park in Hong Kong called Hong Kond Disneyland which became successful.
Here Disney had strategic plan in terms of consumer focused initiative. A consumer initiative often
includes steps for a company to increase sales by differentiating products in the marketplace,
marketing goods or services to new demographics or creating a new customer service function to
handle customer requests.

Home Schooling Vs. Public Education
When one thinks of education, almost automatically public education comes to mind. Through the
years, preferences for educating children have slowly been changing. Home schooling was
primarily restricted to religious groups, but in the past several years, it has rapidly been moving
into mainstream society (Ray). Parents today are deciding to home schooltheir children, although
there are those who still believe public educationis better. Home schooling is legal in every state
and involves as many as 1.5 million children (Wingert Katrowitz). Critics of home schooling raise
questions about academic and social issues. Parents of the home schooled maintain they are not
valid. Home schooling is overall more beneficial than public schools in the education of children.
The idea of home schooling first became popular in the 160 s and 170 s in religious and hippie
communities in an attempt to train children in their values. However, in many states home
schooling was illegal until a court battle in the 10 s legalized it. Since that time, this type of
education has been growing worldwide. In 18, it was estimated that about 1.5 million children
were being home schooled. By 000, the estimate changed to 1.7 million children (Ray). In addition,
the reputation of home schooling changed considerably. In a survey conducted in 18, 5 percent of
the respondents showed evidence that home schooled children were well adjusted socially and

Rhetorical Analysis Of Politics And The English Language
In politics and the English language, author George Orwell in his essay, argues how modern day
English is inaccurate, flawed and filled with careless terminology and bad habits. Orwell
furthermore exposes this notion of inadequate English as a tool that is used in political language to
manipulate, confuse and alter how a person may think. His main goal is to correct this dull way of
thinking and to pay attention furthermore analyze what we write and read to guide ourselves away
from this writing. Another important idea that Orwell discusses is that this English language shifts
to ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish, but the slovenliness of our language makes
it easier for us to have foolish thoughts (1).The essence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of Of Mice And Men
In both of the novels, prejudice, in all its forms, is a key theme throughout; especially in the
relation to the destruction of the innocent. In Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird, the innocent
characters (or mockingbirds ) are generally characters who are misunderstood by the harsh
society in 1930s America. This ranges from a lack of understanding or knowledge about mental
illness in the case of Boo Radley, to pure racism in the case of Tom Robinson. In Of Mice And
Men, there is a bigger focus on sexism, but again the lack of understanding towards people with
mental illnesses is repeated, this time, in the case of Lennie. These themes of prejudice set up both
novels from the very beginning and run throughout until the inevitable destruction of all who are
discriminated against.
Both novels open in a natural, almost idealistic environment. To Kill A Mockingbirdis begun in the
town of Maycomb, where the citizens are described as being in no hurry, for there was nowhere to
go, nothing to buy, and no money to buy it with. This would have been typical of the time the
novel is set in, as during the great depression there was indeed, no money. The fact that the people
are in no hurry could imply that they have nothing interesting going on, so no reason to hurry in
any way, which could, in turn, become foreshadowing, as though later in the novel they may have a
reason to. This could then represent them as being innocent, as they seem to be naive as to their
surroundings and

Similarities And Differences Between Tikki Movie And Movie
Rikki Tikki Tavi
This story resembles bravery in a little mongos named Rikki Tikki Tavi. A mongos who saves a
family and gets something in return. He protects this family with his life and always thinks of
others first. Rikki is a fighting, protecting, and loving mongos who has killed many of snakes
protecting this little boy named Teddy, and his family. In the story and movie there are many of
similarities and differences, to do with the plot, setting, and characters, comparing the book and the
movie Rikki Tikki Tavi.
Rikki was found by a river soaking wet by Teddy, a boy who wanted to have a funeral for him,
and his family. In both the story and movie he was describe cold and wet; also he was found in
the dirt. The family decided to take him home to warm him up and get him something to eat.
During the movie the big man, Teddy s dad, picked Rikki up at the river holding him with his
nose at the man s finger tips, and Rikki s tail passed his wrist. While in the story it is stated the
big man picked him up between finger and thumb. ( Kipling pg.143) there is a difference between
the story and the movie. While the movie isn t an exact replica there still are a lot of similarities.
When the family decided to bring Rikki Tikki in to dry the movie and story have a difference.
The story said that They wrapped him in cotton, and warmed him over a little fire. (Kipling 143).
Although the movie was close it showed Rikki in the cotton but he wasn t placed over a small fire.
Similarities are plentiful in the movie, but there are some differences to look up to.
Teddy and his family had Rikki for quite some time, and he was curious around the house. In the
movie right before bed Teddy was taking a bath Rikki was climbing on the side of it and fell into
the tub. This is a similarity of both the story and the movie. One difference is written in the story
that Rikki nearly drowned himself in the bathtub, put his nose into ink on a writing table, and
burnt it on the end of the big man s cigar. (Kipling 144). The movie didn t show any of this it
hadn t been shown. One night when the cobra couple nag and nagaina were talking outside of the

Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore the American Northwest. Together, they led the

Another prominent figure on the expedition was Sacagawea. She spoke Shoshone, Hidatsa, meager

invaluable interpreter that bargained for resources from other Native American tribes. Her most
important contribution to expedition, however, was her presence, a symbol to native tribes of the

English Should be the National Language Essay
From the time the Pilgrims landed in this great nation at Plymouth Rock, immigrants have been
culturally diverse and have spoken many languages. When the Pilgrims arrived in the New World,
they did not know how to communicate with the natives. Through intense study the natives learned
the Pilgrims language. Even with the common language they were still a melting pot of different
culture. Some would say that America has gotten over the language/ cultural barriers and now
almost everyone speaks the common language of English, but there are still many immigrants who
do not know English. Bilingual education is put into public schools for this reason, so that
immigrant children can be assimilated to English gradually. The national language... Show more

Without Bilingual education every immigrant who came into the United States would have a hard
time succeeding.
In order to be successful in America you need to know a bit of English. Immigrants should not be
mandated to learn English, but learning English would help them to succeed. Most Americans want
the immigrants to learn English, but are not willing to help them. If Americans help the immigrants,
not only will they be able to succeed, but their children will also succeed. People are always
complaining when immigrants speak their native tongues. Immigrant children get assimilated
through the school system, but their parents do not have the same opportunity to assimilate. This
leaves the children to be translator for their parents. In order to help immigrants to succeed, the
United States needs to not only assimilate the children, but also help the adults who have a harder
time learning a new language. Through helping the immigrants learn English, Americans are

Essay Classical and Post-Classical Hollywood Cinema
Classical and Post Classical Hollywood Cinema
INTRODUCTION
During the course of this essay it is my intention to discuss the differences between Classical
Hollywood and post Classical Hollywood. Although these terms refer to theoretical movements of
which they are not definitive it is my goal to show that they are applicable in a broad way to a
cinema tradition that dominated Hollywood production between 1916 and 1960 and which also
pervaded Western MainstreamCinema (Classical Hollywood or Classic Narrative Cinema) and to
the movement and changes that came about following this time period (Post Classical or New
Hollywood). I intend to do this by first analysing and defining aspects of Classical Hollywood and
having done that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have a white male heterosexual protagonist. Also a structure of order/disorder/order restored
is one of the most fundamental. This structure is will proceed in a linear trajectory towards a
high level of closure or resolution. Every question which is raised during the film must be
answered. Within our linear trajectory we have a cause and effect pattern which means we will
watch an action in one scene and proceed to see its effect or re action on the following scene. In
TOUCH OF EVIL (Orson Welles, USA, 1958) we open with a honeymooning couple. Within
moments there is an explosion and disorder is created almost instantly. Our central protagonist, in
this case Charlton Heston, combats this disorder for the duration until he eventually finishes back
in the arms of his wife. This example represents what David Bordwell (Narration of the fiction
film, Madison: University of Wisconsin press, 1985) means when he says usually the classical
syuzhet presents a double causal structure 2. Two plot lines, one which involves a heterosexual
romance and another which causes an external struggle (usually for the man and if for the woman
inevitably solved by the man).
Classical Gender Representation:
In Classical Hollywood the representation of women is certainly quite clear cut, our main two
definable types being that of the virgin and that of the whore. Our virgin represents the patriarchal
ideals of family within which at the time a woman should represent

Personal and Professional Qualities for an Effective Counselor
By

Abstract
This research paper discusses the qualities that are necessary for an effective counseling and as
such any counselor considered effective must posses them. The paper has a separate discussion of
both personal and professional qualities required for any good counselor. The personal qualities
form a larger part of the discussion because the professional qualities depend wholly on the
individual characteristics since professional qualities alone can t qualify a counselor but effective

This respect will enable a counselor explore chances for change and provide accepted and genuine
attention and caring. More importantly, effective counselors should respect themselves first before
expecting the same to be extended by others. This can be done through building strong realistic and
self worth virtues as well as receiving and giving support to others. They shouldn t isolate
themselves or have any sense of self destructiveness. Furthermore, effective counselor must first
know who they are and what they are capable of doing concerning guidance and counseling before
they get to know their clients. They should have clear goals of what they want o achieve in their
line of career by a clear sense of values and priorities that are very important in attending
individuals who actually need counseling such as drug addicts and family violence victims.
Effective counselors must recognize the limits of their power especially influential and convincing
powers because they may compromise the effectiveness of a counseling program thus they should
be able to tame their power (Whiston, 2009). However, effective counselors do not use their power
for their own gain but to help and support the clients in the best reform procedures. On the other
hand, Gladding (2008) confirm that effective counselors must always be in touch with themselves
especially when dealing with clients who present the same experiences as those of the counselor. In
such cases

Ancient Medicine
Today, the average American will undergo over nine surgeries in their lifetime, costing us an arm
and a leg. The basic fundamentals of these surgeries and equipment can be traced back to the
ancient Greek and Roman times. Many people may not see the less obvious transformations the
ancient Greco Romans had on modern day, such as advancements in the medical field, more
specifically, surgeries. By looking back into the past, we can see the vast amount of progression the
Romans had in surgical tools, operations, and medicine. Some of their success was due to religious
beliefs and way of life that they were able to be among the most modern and healthy ancient
civilizations. Though the common physicianwas often times not successful, military... Show more

the likelihood of success in treatment of disease and or surgeries. The concept of germs had not
yet been developed but doctors cleaned equipment between uses with methods such as boiling and

Manifest Destiny Symbolism
Manifest Destiny was an idea expressed during west ward expansion. It was the belief that God
ordained that Americans must travel from coast to coast. Americans were also supposed to share
their light to the primitive natives. Natives in the photo are showed in the darker side of the
painting. They are fleeing from the giant angel heading towards them. The angel in the middle of
the painting carrying a book and telegraph wires to insinuate their intellectual dominance. The
painting tries to show how in the early to mid 19th century Americans believed God is always on
their side and justifies everything they do from taking land to racism. In the painting, the big angel
stands out at the center intending to portray God s support of western expansion. This is done by
putting the angel smack in the center and having multiple shapes draw the eye to it. For example,
the mountain range in the background of the photo makes a triangle that has the angel where the
summit of the mountain should be. Also, the angel is carrying telegraph lines which make the
observer look at the angel. The angel is facing west towards unconquered land and seems to almost
be pointing towards that land. That land is also in the dark. Behind the angle is bright lightwhich
draws the eye. The angel is bringing light to the land it touches. This light is the light of
knowledge and God s blessing, which comes from the background of the painting. Manifest mean
holy or divine. Therefore, God is the reason

Theme Of Death In The Ambassadors
In the works performed by Virginia Woolf s novel, To The Lighthouse, Pessoa s play The
Mariner, and Holbein s anamorphic painting The Ambassadors , death is a prevalent presence that
lingers in the realm of the living. It is an order of nature that embodies all life from the moment it
begins. While all three works portray the temporality of life, they each shape the aura of deathin
various ways. In The Mariner, death is introduced in the form of a corpse. The manifestation of
fear and discomfort becomes the crux of Pessoa s play whereas in the painting of The Ambassadors
, death exists through a distorted image of a skull that could only come into focus when viewed
from an oblique angle, making the skull a grim symbolism of decay that engulfs the dead body.
Lastly, in To The Lighthouse, death is observed through mourning and remembering the ones whom
they have lost. Just as mourning means reliving memories... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As the product of death is apparent and unsettling, it connects the watchers fates to a natural social
order of life of which the two cannot be within the same sphere without causing discomfort. When
looking at the corpse in the coffin, the second watcher says, Three of us are listening... No, not
just three... I don t know... I don t know how many (Pessoa, 56). Hence, the second watcher has
defined the corpse as a physical representation of the dead that does not belong neither amongst the
living nor the afterlife just yet. It is in a state of departure from life and journeying into the
afterlife. The corpse s uncanny resemblance to a living, sleeping person provides a dark and
inconsolable reality of death s permanence. The transitional journey of the corpse from life to the
afterlife carries an intense emotional impact on the watchers as they translate their emotions of
confusion, anxiety, and animosity towards the

How Technology Has Improved With Better Mobility And More...
As the technology developed and matured, hand held devices have been significantly improved
with better mobility and more functions: when I was young, my father used to have a mobile
cell phone which was very heavy its weight was over 1 lb., which was at least three times heavier
than the newest iPhone. Also, besides the basic phone calling function, many new communication
applications text messaging, social networks including Facebook and Instagram, and online
video chat tools like Skype are integrated with the mobile devices. From using a simple handy
phone to a well functioned smart phone, my communication style had also changed a lot. The
first hand held mobile device for communication is a personal handy phone which is named Xiao
Ling Tong in China. I received that in 2008 when I was in middle school. The device itself looks
like a mini mobile phone, but its functions were limited to phone calling, text messaging and some
simple games. Also, it did not have an individual phone number it was connected with the fixed
line telephone and they share the same phone number. At that time, the way I was using my handy
phone was to contact my parents through phone calling when I went out. I did not use that to
communicate with my friends or classmates frequently as most of them did not own mobile
devices. However, it was not as convenient as a true smart phone: it did not have roaming service,
which meant that it could only be used locally. In 2010, I went to

Alta California was the Last Expansion of Spain’s Empire...
The Spanish in contact with California occurred in the mid 1530s when Cortez s men ventured to
Baja California. They began to sail north to Alta California and established 21 missions. The
expedition to Alta California was the last greatest expansion of Spain s empire in North America.
The missions were a series of religious and military settlements established by the padre. The
Spanish constructed the missions to gain control and power over the land in California. San
Francisco Solano Mission was the last mission established in Sonoma, the Valley of the Moon,
resulted an important historical event in California and the existence of the California flag. The
Spanish arrival to California created a major impact to the lives of the native Indians, and there
were many significant events occurred among the Spaniards, the native Indians, and the Americans
before California became a part of America.
San Francisco Solano Mission was founded on July 4th, 1823 by Fr. Jose Altamira, Father
Altamira, which was the last mission in California. The mission got its name from St. Francis
Solano, missionary to the Peruvian Indians (Simondi). After the arrival of Father Altamira, he
decided to create a new mission north of San Francisco Bay. He selected the sight of the mission
with the approval of Governor Luis Arguello, but he did not ask the church for an official
approval. Also, he wanted to close down the mission at San Rafael and San Francisco because the

Who Is John Steinbeck A Tragic Hero
Money cannot solve all your problems, it can actually create more. Usually, when you receive
something great, you think you will be able to benefit from it. Well, in The Pearl by John
Steinbeck, that is not the case. Kino cannot afford to get treatment for his infant son, Coyotito.
He then goes diving for pearls and finds the Pearl of the World. Kino s life goes from great to bad
as he keeps the pearl. His downfall is inevitable. John Steinbecks creation. Kino, is an example of a
tragic hero. Kino is a tragic hero due to him representing Aristotle s characteristics in the book.
They are Hamartia, Anagnorisis, and Catastrophe.
One reason Kino was a tragic hero was because of Hamartia. Hamartia is the mortal flaw, defect,

Examples Of Observation Report Daycare
During my observations, I noticed the daycare staff did an amazing job taking a holistic approach
towards the children s wellness. The teacher made sure the children had good health and nutrition.
The educator made the kids wash their hands before eating snacks. They had to sing their ABC s
while do it, so they would wash their hands long enough. Each childparticipated in a physical
activity while in the open area, called the bicycle room. The children were taking turns riding the
bicycles. That presented the teacher made sure the kids were healthy and physical. While I was
observing I had a slight cold, but the children did not. It amazed me that out of all the children who
was there, not one kid was sick. For lunch the children had oranges, pizza, and chocolate milk. The
teachers feed the children a snack about every two hours, and they eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Essay about 19th Century Women
19th Century Women
Works Cited Missing
Women in the nineteenth century, for the most part, had to follow the common role presented to
them by society. This role can be summed up by what historians call the cult of domesticity . The
McGuffey Readers does a successful job at illustrating the women s role in society. Women that
took part in the overland trail as described in Women s Diaries of the Westward Journey had to try
to follow these roles while facing many challenges that made it very difficult to do so.
One of the most common expectations for women then is that they are responsible for doing the
chore of cleaning whether it is cleaning the house, doing the laundry. The McGuffey Readers
mentions the women s duty to clean in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, to show what the editor said in the McGuffey s there is a poem that is from a child s
point of view talking about his mother, Smooth the few silver threads out of my hair; Over my
slumbers your loving watch keep; Rock me to sleep, mother, rock me to sleep! (Gorn 108). It is
shown here how the mother is to watch over her children and take care of them. Moreover, in the
Women s Diaries it talks about the hardship mothers had, Accounts shade and darken in the pages
of women whose energies were spent nursing and caring for infants and small children (Schlissel
115). It says that their diaries turn in essence bleak because they are being overwhelmed with so
many duties and then on top of that having to care for the children. Being on the trail made it very
difficult for the women to perform these duties as the author points out, The West to them meant
the challenge of rearing a family and maintaining domestic order against the disordered life on the
frontier (Schlissel 115). The women had to face to challenge and they did in a way that shows that
the men were not the only ones who had an immense amount of courage in this great undertaking.
An integral part of the nineteenth century Victorian way of life was having strong morals. The
women were seen as pure beings and therefore it was there job to keep the family unit moral. In

Baroque and Classical Wordpainting Techniques
Renaissance and Baroque composers were faced with the task of creating complex pieces that
express both human emotion and ideas. While this is primarily one of the main purposes of all
forms of music itself, including genres today, in the 15th through 18th centuries, this was largely
done through the musical composition of a piece rather than the lyrics. Composers utilized several
different techniques in order to portray to the listener the purpose and meaning of the piece.
Renaissance composers were focused on furthering the texts in music, fully developing the lyrics
Therefore, the use of word painting, the musical representation of a literal word, phrase, or poetic
image, is clearly seen in many pieces. Baroque music, with the... Show more content on

In the piece Tu Se Morta this idea can be heard from the very first notes. After being told of
Eurydice s death, Orpheus declares his emotions in Tu Se Morta. The piece begins an organ and
a bass lute, the lute representing Orpheus harp, which speak to the song s dark tones. The singer
s vocal lines are also fairly free, they have no set beat, meter, or phrase pattern. This, therefore,
creates the sense of a monologue or soliloquy, an actor s expression of inner emotion.
Monteverdi, like other Baroque composers, frequently used word painting. The opening words,
You are dead, repeated and culminating in You have left me forevermore, never to return, and I
remain, are song in a stretched out, long and slow fashion, but as the verse continues, intensity
and volume is increased to result in basically an outburst by the words, ed io rimango, or and I
remain. The free beat and meter of the vocals allows for the singer to illustrate the emotion of the
text through the speed in which the words are sung and the intensity of each word. More
traditional word painting is used in the sense that there is a low tone on abissi or abysses in order
to depict the deepness and descending nature of the underworld. Another strategic low note is
placed on morte to symbolize death and depression. Very high tones are used on the words stelle
and sole

Essay on Valley Winery Case Study
Case One:
Valley Winery
Valley Winery, a favorable wine company, hired Pat Waller as their sales manager of the San
Francisco region s chain division. Although the company has had increasing sales for the past
several years, Valley Winery has its fair share of problems that have Waller worried. He is very
aware of the competitiveness within the wine industry and is concerned that Valley Winery will not
be able to continue consistently increasing their sales.
Turnover rate is the number one issue at Valley Winery. Every problem the company has bleeds
into the turnover rate. The company s turnover rate is currently at almost 100 percent a year; this is
a huge issue that Waller must address. The existing sales rep employment average... Show more

With so much responsibility given to one person, effectiveness becomes a concern. The person in
charge of hiring judges candidates based on youth and physical characteristics, rather than
legitimate credentials. There is no consistency or checks and balances within the hiring process.
Essentially, a single person is making all of the hiring decisions without any guidelines from upper
management. Hiring sales reps based on qualifications would correlate with a reduction in the
turnover rate.
The fourth and final issue is the quotas set for the sales reps. Unattainable quotas are the issue
behind the turnover rate and the aggressive sales attitudes. Right now, each sales rep is required
to meet monthly display quotas for different lines of products. It is nearly impossible for the reps
to meet their quotas, which leads to exaggerating numbers and tampering with competitors
products. Sales reps are discouraged by unrealistic quotas and overwhelming workloads; a
combination that leads to low employee morale and high turnover. In order to solve his laundry list
of issues, Pat Waller must do some serious restructuring, beginning with the hiring process. Waller
needs to begin recruit top performers from competing firms. Because the wine industry is
incredibly competitive, this will help the Valley Winery stay on top. Also, the interview process
needs to be more thorough and realistic.

The Pros And Cons Of Voting
One example of registration laws that effect voter participation includes the House Bill 1355. In
2011 Florida voted on House Bill 1355 placing new regulations on community organization that
have helped eligible voters to register (Herron, Smith 2013). Seeing as Florida is a swing state and
every four years during presidential electionsthe state and its residents can determine who will be
the next president of the United States, it s important for communities and organizations to
mobilize the people to go out and vote. Although a federal judge in 2012 later blocked the
legislation that was making it difficult for third party registration organizations the damage was
already done. For a prominent voting organization opted out of doing registration drives when the
House Bill 1355 was initially passed (Herron, Smith). The implementation of the Bill influenced
the upcoming presidential election in 2012 by slowing the voter registration of thousands of
Floridians. Bills like the 2011 House Bill 1355 only raises the cost in the rational choice model
making it only more probable that people will just opt out of voting because they don t want to
deal with the time consuming process. When registering to vote one must adhere to the states laws
and comply with the process of registration. Because each state has their own legislation and laws
that their residents must follow, it crucial for people to get some information on the state
registration process in order to vote.

Race And Social Race
Race, to many people is one thing and one thing only; the color of one s skin. But race is more
than just the color of one s skin, but it s their biological makeup and social makeup. Biological
race is the skin color we are born with along with the other genetic traits that come with certain
ethnic backgrounds. Social race, however, is how society depicts your skin color and biological
traits, and decides from there what social class you may be placed in, how you ll be treated, and
how you ll live your life, socially. All people are biologically born the same race as their parents,
or a mix, if the parents are different. But what determines the social race? Social race can be
explained using the blacks in Southern America during the times of segregation. Blacks were
forced to eat, drink, and sit in different places just because of their skin color. During this time
blacks were seen as scum of the Earth, dirty, and vile, just because of their skin color. Many
people thought that blacks carried diseases and lacked intelligence in early America. Later you
had pictures and drawings of human skulls and black skulls that were always seen as less
desirable and less beautiful, just because their skulls tended to be more oval in shape and not round
like the whites. Though there can be strictly biological racismand strictly social racism, they both
go hand in hand in many cases. Ota Benga, from Congo, was captured for his looks and
abnormalities. He was black, stood four feet

Twisted Sister Transcendentalism The song We re Not Gonna Take It by Twisted sister there are a lot of different transcendental elements that people don t really know about hidden inside the song. In the song it shows confidence, self reliance, individuality, and nonconformity. Twisted Sister wrote the song to stand up for yourself and make sure you do something about it. In the song We re Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister the lyrics say Your life is trite and jaded boring and confiscated if that s your best, your best won t do. The point of this line is to say that stop being boring cause that isn t truly who you are and do something and don t let anyone stop you. • 3. Meatloaf For My Family Research Paper I do not cook very much but I have learned to cook meatloaf for my family and they love it! I make a trip to the store to get the items that I need and once I am back home I begin to prepare my meatloaf by mixing the main ingredients in a large bowl and that includes: hamburger meat, milk, bread and/or crackers, and a few eggs. This helps hold the meat together and to keep it moist. I prefer to crumble up fresh bread pieces myself. Make sure to get some hamburger meat that has some fat in it so that your meatloaf isn t too dry. I dice up some onions, carrots and peppers to put in my meatloaf to give it more flavor and to also help to keep it moist. You can cook them before adding them if you want I place aluminum foil in a medium Pyrex glass bowl and input my mixture into this and make it into a loaf. The actual best pans is the pans that are an actual loaf and used only for meatloaf. These pans usually drain the grease from it too but the glass bowl works just fine too. ... • 4. The Cost-Effective Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization... The Cost effectiveness Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization Program for the United States article was performed to estimate the economic impact of a national rotavirus immunization program. The research question being addressed is if the implementation of a rotavirus vaccine program would be beneficial and cost effective. These are policy relevant questions because it will determine if a rotavirusvaccine program will be cost effective and valuable enough to employ. These research questions are not only relevant to healthcare providers, but doctors, hospitals, the vaccine users, and society as a whole. Decision analysis is an appropriate method for this case study because the decision to be made is operations focused and not tactical, it is impartial rather than subjective, and it is repetitive rather than infrequent. Decision analysis looks to identify the most appropriate alternative outcomes and occurs at a give point in time in a process. Additionally, it takes the view point of the organization in decision making, opposed to an individual standpoint. Date included in the study consisted of the number of doctor and emergency room visits, the number of incidences, rotavirus infections, mortality estimates, hospitalizations statistics, hospital discharge data, affected children, and vaccine coverage. Medical costs of the rotavirus are compromised of inpatient and outpatient treatment, room charges for hospitalization, emergency department care, vaccination ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The, That Makes Your Hair Disappear 312.39: The Trich That Makes Your Hair Disappear Jennifer Raikes, the president of Trichotillomania Learning Center, recalls that, The rhythm of running my fingers over my eyebrows is soothing. One half of my mind is attuned to the texture of each hair, the tickle against my thumb. Very soon, she would feel that ... this hairfeels out of place; it s too thick, too coarse. I need to get it out. This is the urge that has been haunting her since her childhood. As she entered her adulthood, she learned that she is not the only one with trichotillomania, the impulse control disorder that urges one to pull out his or her hairs. In fact, trichotillomania is plaguing the lives of one in every fifty Americans (Raikes 38). This disorder... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, Criterion D and Criterion E demand that the hair pulling cannot be associated with any other type of medical disorder or conditions (American Psychiatric Association, 251 252). Since the action of excessive hair pulling can be attributed to delusion or hallucination caused by psychological disorders like schizophrenia, physicians must test for the existence of other mental conditions before diagnosing a patient s symptoms as trichotillomania. Diagnosing trichotillomania definitely requires caution and precision (Thackery and Harris, 998 1001). An early diagnosis of trichotillomania becomes important because trichotillomania can cause temporary and permanent damage to the human body. For example, uncontrolled hair pulling can lead to skin bleeding. In severe cases, infections can affect the bleeding areas, causing serious damage to the skin (Phillipson and Gibson). Patients may also swallow the hairs that are removed from the body, causing hair clusters to form inside the stomach. This condition, called trichophagia, can lead to stomach pain or even stomach bleeding ( Trichotillomania ). Other forms of damage caused by uncontrolled hair pulling may include short and broken hairs, damaged hair follicles, and increased existence of non growing hairs. These are common harms of trichotillomania that may have the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Fritz Lang M Film Techniques The film M by Fritz Lang (1931) is a timeless masterpiece that not only reflects the fear and distrust present in German society after WWI, but also uses sound in ways it had never been used befor. M was made during a time of paranoia in Germany, set against the backdrop of a rapidly deteriorating Weimar Republic. The country was in the midst of heightened poverty due to unemployment and increasing criminal activity after the stock market crash of 1929. It was also a time where psychopathic serial killers were at large in German cities. In the film, the panic felt by the townspeople to try and catch the murderer, and the paranoia that it could be anyone among them, is reflective of the fearful emotions felt by the German people during the early 1930s. The use of high camera angles show the vulnerability and innocence of the children, the murderer s victims. The use of shadows and reflections show that the murderer has two sides, and it is because of these two varying characters that he can walk amongst society unknown for what he is. For example, when the townspeople see a man telling a little girl what time it is, they immediately assume he must be the murderer. Because of their paranoia, they jump to conclusions, ... These fears arose from the global recession due to the stock market crash in 1929, where unemployment, poverty, and crime greatly increased, and from the rapid decline of their government. M was also Fritz Lang s first sound picture, and he therefore had the opportunity to use sound in ways that had not been done before. He used sound, and silence, to help shape the mood and tone of the film, making the emotions and the message he was portraying that much more effective. By doing so, Lang created a film that will remain as one of the greatest films of all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the short stories Shopping by Joyce Oates and Fish Cheeks by Amy Tan, I discovered a connection in both stories about mothers love. Both show a gratitude of reasons on how and why mothers love is present. Both stories have a completely different morals but both come together into one meaning; mothers love. In the short story Shopping by Joyce Oates, we experience the mother, Mrs. Dietrich, doing multiple things for her daughter, Nola, such as buying her expensive clothing. Mothers work hard, physically and mentally. With working hard, comes compassion and lessons learned. In both stories, we see a big similarity tough love and lessons learned. In Fish Cheeks by Amy tan we see this in a silent lesson. As they invite the ministers family over for Christmas Eve dinner, the mother has a treat for them. They are a chinese family and they don t celebrate it with the old fashioned turkey and mashed potatoes, which the daughter, Amy, is nervous about for she has a major crush on the minister s son. • 10. Review Of The Last Of The Mohicans Tayseer Abdelsalam 12/15/16 Early American Literature: Critique #3 The Book vs The Movie The main difference between, The Last of the Mohicans, book by James Fenimore Cooper and the last of the Mohicans movie, is that the book has a more adventurous theme and the moive has a more romantic and love them. I felt that both stories were extremely interesting. Due to the text s complexityz and the author s peculiar writing style, it took me quite a while to get into the story, thus reducing my reading speed considerably. But, once I was one third into the book, I started to really enjoy it and, as the narrative became more and more complex, I became aware of how much the book and the movie differ. I think that the most shocking difference between the book and the movie is the relationship between Hawk eye, the scout, and Duncan, the major. If in Mann s movie there s hatred between La Longue Carabine (aka Hawk eye) and Duncan Heyward, in Cooper s book their relationship is based on respect and both are willing to give their lives in order to save the others. Simandan http://www.simandan.com/james fenimore copper%E2%80%99s %E2%80%98the last of the mohicans%E2%80%99 book vs movie/) Another difference is the relationship between Hawk eye and Chingachgook and, respectively, Uncas. • 11. The Theme Of Faith In Mania Salinger s The Storyteller The Storyteller has four parallel stories. Sage is a brilliant baker who works at night, living a limited lonely life in a small town. She keeps a scar on her face hidden, is involved in a hopeless romantic affair, and is drawn to Josef, a beloved neighbourhood old timer who frequently visits the bakery. Minka grows up in Lodz and is forced into the ghetto with her family. Eventually she is sent on a transport to Auschwitz and we closely follow the impossible hardships she endures and ultimately survives. Franz and Reiner are two German brothers different as can be; one a serious sensitive student, the other a fighter; both end up in the SS. Meanwhile we read Minka s fiction, chapters of a dark Gothic romance about a baker s daughter and two demon brothers who terrorize a village. Minka s biography is compiled from multiple survivors, including various threads from Mania Salinger s own memoir, Looking Back. Picoult says Mania reminds her of her own grandma. It is also showcased when Ania actually gives shelter to the upior Alek. When the world saw him only as an animal who killed thirteen people, they ignored the fact that he killed only those who had committed enough sins to be punished. The next question that arises is that of time, it is beautifully experimented with as Picoult simultaneously knits three stories together, the story of Minka, the story of Sage and the story of Ania. They all are intrinsically knit and yet retain their individuality. The behaviour of the characters in the three stories, categorically define the times they try to ... • 13. A Report On London Renting Market The purpose of this report is to examine London renting market and all features related to it. Over the last decade the rent of property in London has enlarged dramatically. As London became one of the leading economical city in the world, it has attracted an array of different people, including professional employees, families, tourists and investors. However, they were all overwhelmed by the cost of living. Even the natives are moving outside the city to cut the expenses of rent. The major problem of excessive pricing is that people might emigrate or choose other city instead of London. In this coursework will be discussed the demand and supply of rent in London, immigration and emigration, factors that might influence the collapse of market, suggestions to the UK parliament how to avoid it and compare the London with other cities. This analysis will be vital for all arriving individuals along with resident. Since London is one of the world centers, people should realize that the cost of living will be higher compared to other cities. My challenge was was twofold: could I put together the talent necessary to support this work and could I design a method of finishing these shows in a way that would meet their schedule and budget. In light of the extremely compressed time frame given to do so, my initial reaction was we could not. A typical workflow testing and onboarding schedule spans several weeks. We had less than one week to decide whether to accept the work as the client had just received network delivery dates for his first show. All post production, regardless of the type of project, shares a common set of processes. Our department s method of edit color mix delivery is geared toward finishing short pieces with chaotic schedules. Typical broadcast finishing tilts toward longer schedules with more regimented turnovers and asset control. After meeting with the client s head of post production to discuss their needs, my estimation of unscripted broadcast finishing was that it lived in between. Foreshadowing In Oedipus The King Foreshadowing is a tool used by playwrights and authors of all types as a means to direct the audience into a path of questioning and intrigue throughout the course of a novel or play. After reading both of these theatrical works, it struck me just how often I dismiss/fail to acknowledge the big red flags stuck within the ground of the text and thus proceed to give myself incredibly undeserved credit at the end of every reading for having figured out what was going to happen all by myself . Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to examine the importance of this technique in order to credit the playwrights and show how their use of foreshadowing creates tension, credibility and a specific atmosphere in both of their fictitious worlds. The body has two faces, the cis face which fuses with incoming transport vesicles, and the trans face which excretes the secretory vesicles. The cis face fuses with vesicles coming from the ER effectively from many directions due to its convex shape, whereas the concave trans face can direct the secretory vesicles to their destination. When fusing with the cis face, the transport vesicles release their proteins to be absorbed for modification. Each cisternal layer of the Golgi body holds different enzymes which each modify the passing proteins in separate ways. Between the layers the proteins are moved through the gaps by small vesicles. When a protein has been modified correctly, it leaves the Golgi body via secretory vesicles which then carry the modified proteins to the cell membrane or another organelle. Welfare can be defined as the minimum level of responsibility of the state for its citizens this is what I will attribute to social security in Figure one. Welfare can be in the form of a steady base transfer, in order to provide ongoing, or short term payments to alleviate financial hardship. In contrast, human capital accumulation (HCA) can be attributed to investments in education and health (Figure 1). HCA is the increased education, health and productivity of potential workers, to which social security is only a precondition. It is a central driver of human and economic development. In Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird, the innocent characters (or mockingbirds ) are generally characters who are misunderstood by the harsh society in 1930s America. This ranges from a lack of understanding or knowledge about mental illness in the case of Boo Radley, to pure racism in the case of Tom Robinson. In Of Mice And Men, there is a bigger focus on sexism, but again the lack of understanding towards people with mental illnesses is repeated, this time, in the case of Lennie. These themes of prejudice set up both novels from the very beginning and run throughout until the inevitable destruction of all who are discriminated against. Both novels open in a natural, almost idealistic environment. To Kill A Mockingbirdis begun in the town of Maycomb, where the citizens are described as being in no hurry, for there was nowhere to go, nothing to buy, and no money to buy it with. This would have been typical of the time the novel is set in, as during the great depression there was indeed, no money. The fact that the people are in no hurry could imply that they have nothing interesting going on, so no reason to hurry in any way, which could, in turn, become foreshadowing, as though later in the novel they may have a reason to. Revised Research Question: What factors have caused a fluctuation in the number of diagnosis of autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorder amongst children in the past 20 years? Reflection: When the research essay was assigned to the class, I was ecstatic because I knew what subject I wanted to write about. The trouble I faced when developing the exact question was narrowing down the topic, as well as making it approachable. • 38. Similarities And Differences Between Tikki Movie And Movie Rikki Tikki Tavi This story resembles bravery in a little mongos named Rikki Tikki Tavi. A mongos who saves a family and gets something in return. He protects this family with his life and always thinks of others first. Rikki is a fighting, protecting, and loving mongos who has killed many of snakes protecting this little boy named Teddy, and his family. In the story and movie there are many of similarities and differences, to do with the plot, setting, and characters, comparing the book and the movie Rikki Tikki Tavi. Rikki was found by a river soaking wet by Teddy, a boy who wanted to have a funeral for him, and his family. In both the story and movie he was describe cold and wet; also he was found in the dirt. The family decided to take him home to warm him up and get him something to eat. During the movie the big man, Teddy s dad, picked Rikki up at the river holding him with his nose at the man s finger tips, and Rikki s tail passed his wrist. While in the story it is stated the big man picked him up between finger and thumb. ( Kipling pg.143) there is a difference between the story and the movie. In the movie right before bed Teddy was taking a bath Rikki was climbing on the side of it and fell into the tub. This is a similarity of both the story and the movie. One difference is written in the story that Rikki nearly drowned himself in the bathtub, put his nose into ink on a writing table, and burnt it on the end of the big man s cigar. (Kipling 144). The movie didn t show any of this it hadn t been shown. In The Mariner, death is introduced in the form of a corpse. The manifestation of fear and discomfort becomes the crux of Pessoa s play whereas in the painting of The Ambassadors , death exists through a distorted image of a skull that could only come into focus when viewed from an oblique angle, making the skull a grim symbolism of decay that engulfs the dead body. While this is primarily one of the main purposes of all forms of music itself, including genres today, in the 15th through 18th centuries, this was largely done through the musical composition of a piece rather than the lyrics. Composers utilized several different techniques in order to portray to the listener the purpose and meaning of the piece. After being told of Eurydice s death, Orpheus declares his emotions in Tu Se Morta. The piece begins an organ and a bass lute, the lute representing Orpheus harp, which speak to the song s dark tones. The singer s vocal lines are also fairly free, they have no set beat, meter, or phrase pattern. This, therefore, creates the sense of a monologue or soliloquy, an actor s expression of inner emotion. Monteverdi, like other Baroque composers, frequently used word painting. The opening words, You are dead, repeated and culminating in You have left me forevermore, never to return, and I remain, are song in a stretched out, long and slow fashion, but as the verse continues, intensity and volume is increased to result in basically an outburst by the words, ed io rimango, or and I remain. The free beat and meter of the vocals allows for the singer to illustrate the emotion of the text through the speed in which the words are sung and the intensity of each word.
