Interests and general
Having raised three children, I frequently
found myself involved in social groups
and sporting teams. I coached several
sports teams and eventually became
chairman for the college football club
where I was honoured as their "Person of
the year" for our efforts in advancing the
status of the sport at a largely rugby
dominated school. All sport is a genuine
interest for me and I participate annually
at the NZ master’s games with great
success.
During the Christchurch earthquake of
2011 I was awarded for bravery for
rescuing a young person who was trapped
in a lift in a multi story building in central
Christchurch.
