The National Neonatal Strategy aims to improve newborn health and survival in Nepal. It was developed based on a situation analysis and expert recommendations. The goals are to increase adoption of healthy newborn care practices and strengthen neonatal health services at all levels. Key interventions include developing policies and guidelines, behavior change communication, strengthening service delivery through training health workers and improving facilities, better program management, and conducting operational research. The strategy provides an evidence-based framework to guide stakeholders in improving neonatal outcomes in Nepal.
This case study sets out early experimental analysis of linked Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and Home Office Exit Checks data, with the aim of understanding what linking HESA and Home Office Exit Checks data can tell us about departure patterns and length of stay of non-EU students at the local authority level. The findings from this case study provide important insights that will be key to the successful development of a population and migration statistics system based on administrative data sources.
The document discusses public-private partnerships (PPP) in the health sector in India, including various models of PPP and an example of a voucher scheme for maternal and child health care in Agra. Some key models of PPP discussed are social franchising, branded clinics, contracting, and voucher systems. The document outlines criteria for initiating different models of PPP, such as social franchising when expanding services rapidly. It also describes challenges faced in establishing the Agra voucher scheme and steps taken to build support and address concerns among stakeholders including government, private providers, and policymakers.

Tuberculosis is caused by bacteria that usually affect the lungs and can spread through air droplets from coughing or sneezing. Left untreated, a TB patient may infect 10-20 people over two years. The DOTS strategy endorsed by WHO aims to control TB through early detection, standardized treatment, and ensuring patients complete their multi-drug regimen over 6-12 months to cure the disease. In the Philippines, community health workers are trained to provide TB education, testing, treatment and monitoring to improve access and cure rates in remote areas as part of programs like the National TB Program and AKAP.
The Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) aims to establish a decentralized disease surveillance system in India to improve disease control. It integrates existing surveillance programs, coordinates surveillance activities, and establishes quality data collection, analysis, and feedback using information technology. It is implemented in phases across states and union territories of India and involves strengthening laboratories, training health professionals, and creating an IT network to link surveillance sites. The goal is to provide data to enable efficient public health decision making and interventions for priority diseases.
