Say No to Doping!
Doping in sports has been one of the most discussed issues by the world; either by the free writers or
the body of agencies related with sports. The discussion about this kind of issue has started long time
ago but it became more controversial and intense when Lance Armstrong, who won the 2002 Tour de
France by leaving his nearest rival 7 seconds behind, failed the drug test (Cashmore) . Ellis Cashmore,
a professor of culture, media, and sports at Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, through
his article, Making Sense of Sports , came up with an argument that drug should be allowed in sports.
In the article, he effectively countered the argument of some people out there that taking drug will lead
to the unfair competition. As we are from the generation who are never bored of seeking the best in
human ability, the usage of drug is crucial in order to boost the performance of the athlete. The
prohibition of drug usage in sports surely will affect the athletes performances and next lead to the
turning off by the fans and this is surely a thing needs to be taken into account (Cashmore) . I, myself,
agree with Ellis Cashmore that drug should be allowed in sports and I will explain my argument in
terms of the misconception about drug, the role of drug in promising competitive sports, and the
function of drug in maintaining athletes health. First, in order to change the entire rule of sports by
allowing the presence of drug in sports, the misconception about

Write An Essay On The Ip Era
Feminism Essay
Although many laws in our legal system treat women differently than men passing an Equal Rights
Amendment (ERA) would not solve the systematic discrimination evident in the US. An ERA serves
the purpose to gift equal rights to all citizens regardless of gender. The ERA composed by Alice Paul
stated the purpose that Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United
States or by any state on account of sex. To fix the widespread discrimination against women, rather
than pass an ERA women need to be given a minority group status. The ERA, proposed by Alice Paul
was not added to the constitution in 1979 as it had only achieved ratification from 35 of the needed 38
states. The opposition was not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A race, ethnicity, or sex should be awarded a minority if and only if their race, ethnicity, or sex
negatively interferes with their chances to succeed. Although people of Asian race are among the
highest in income, graduation rate, and education they are awarded a minority group status. This is
unfair as Asian Americans do not need the protection of a minority group status because they succeed
anyway. On the other hand while women continually suffer discrimination there is no protection for

What Is The Role Of Julius Caesar And Augustus
Gaius and Lucius Julius Caesar were adopted by Augustus in 17 BC. They were under the care of
Agrippa if he should die. Augustus and Agrippa had their powers renewed and became involved in
Gaul and the northern frontiers of Italy. Agrippa will turn his attention to the eastern provinces. In 13
BC, Tiberius received his first consulship, which was an important step for him in the political and
social ladder. Agrippa started to return from the east, however he fell ill and died. This was a crushing
blow for Augustus to lose his lifelong friend. This was probably the only man in his circle he could
truly trust. He had helped Augustus in both the political and military world of Rome. Agrippa was a
humble man and seems to be content with the role he was given. There was a grandiose funeral from
him and was even buried in Augustus mausoleum.
Lepidus who was the pontifex maximus, which is the head of the priests, passed away the title was
given over to Augustus. In 11 BC, Tiberius married Julia supporting the bloodline and relation to
Augustus. He then turned his attention to the campaigns against the Dalmatians and Pannonians.
Augustus once again took the consulship but for his own interest and pursuit. He lead Gaius into the
Forum, where the Senate voted that in five years he was to be consul. Augustus did the same ritual for
Lucius while holding his 13th consulship. He took great care to have them prepared to succeed him.
However, Lucius died in 2 AD and his brother later in 4

Quotes From Christ Most Beloved
Christ Most Beloved:
The unsteadiness of our Anointed leaders that are suppose to preach the Kingdom of God to the
congregants, has led to the tolerance of sins in the Holy Sanctuary.
The constant preaching of prosperity and get rich quick by any means possible by those leaders,
instead of preaching repentance and forsaking of sins capable of destroying our relationship with God:
made some to believe that, There are options to get loser to God apart from repentance. {John, 1: 9

Galatians, 1: 6 9 If anyone is preaching to you a Gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be

The Leader And The Follower
Quote from Jerry Rice Today I will do what others won t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others
can t . Leadership is not a title; it is not a trade, or some sort of hierarchy. Positive leadership is really
something more. For leadership to exist, the leader has to have influence to lead oneself, and to lead
others. Leadership at its core is a process of influence, meaning the influence must be transactional.
The leader must affect the follower by setting goals, and the follower must affect the leader by setting
goals. As the leader and the follower come together in a common understanding, and with a common
sense of purpose, only then can they begin to move together to accomplish a common goal.
Self Assessment: Social motives, Leadership Style, Styles of Conflict, Leader Member Exchange. The
definition of an achievement leader is for management to set challenging goals, assists in training,
emphasize improvement, and expect the highest levels of performance. I personally believe an
achievement leader is one who believes it is the best to get the job done right, by keeping their
employees happy. Positive results from this are creativity in the workplace, departments working
together as a team, motivation within the company, and a low retention rate. The negative results are
too much responsibility for the employee, with no guidance from the leader. Including low
performance skills and failure to do the task that are presented. The modern business environment

The Impact of Accounting Systems on Project Funds...
The Impact of Accounting Systems on Project Funds Absorption Capacity Case study of agricultural
research projects in Rwanda By: Laurent NDIRAMIYE, BAS, MBA Maastricht, September 2008 This
paper was written in the framework of an MBA thesis at the Maastricht School of Management
(MSM) under the supervision of Prof Eno L. Inanga ABSTRACT The absorption capacity is one of
key indicators on which financing agencies base the allocation of financial resources to sponsored
projects, and should hence be closely monitored. Its level was reported to be low in developing
countries, according to studies conducted by the World Bank, the OECD and ODI. However these
studies focused on macroeconomic indicators and less on developing ... Show more content on

This is mainly due to the fact that several programs compete for the agricultural income in developing
countries agricultural dependent economies. In addition, while the agricultural research is largely
financed by private funds in developed countries, the share of the private sector is too low in
developing countries. The system relies either on government funding and/or external assistance,
especially in Sub Saharan Africa. According to Pardey et al. (2006), donor contributions (including
World Bank loans) in Sub Saharan Africa accounted for an average of 35% of funding to principal
agricultural research agencies in 2000. Even though this share shows a decreasing trend, the share of
external funds in agricultural research varies from country to country, as several countries, such as
Eritrea, are highly dependent on external aid for agricultural research (figure 1), while others, such as
Sudan, use their own internal income to this end. Donor agricultural research financing in developing
countries is channelled either through the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research
(CGIAR), a consortium of 15 agricultural research centers , regional research networks, or directly to
national agricultural research systems. Sources of external financing

Compare And Contrast Corona And Old Spice
Old Spice and Corona are two popular companies in American s culture today, especially around
holidays and summer time. Their ads parallel one another because of appealing features such as
having fun on the beach or sailing on the sea. The messages they both give throughout their individual
ads are about lifestyle. For example, a healthy message of Corona s is to enjoy yourself, by relaxing
and living in the moment. Therefore, many of Corona clients believe their product as a stress reliever.
Old Spice s message is that this fragrance makes you smell and seem manlier by you using their
products such as their hair gel, shampoo, and deodorant. The most interesting thing about the two
brands is their showmanship involving the intense focus on getting each product out to the consumers.
Old Spice an American advertising campaign developed by ad agency Wieden + Kennedy in 2010
featuring Isaiah Mustafa became popular after the first advertisement, The Man your Man could smell
like, went viral. Which is owned by Procter Gamble Men s grooming products such as deodorants and
antiperspirants, shampoos, body washes and soaps. Initially launched as Early American Old Spice by
William Lightfoot Schultz s soap and toiletries company, Shulton inc., in 1937, it was first targeted to
women, with the men s product only being released before Christmas at the end of that year.
When the #1 imported beer in American wanted to reach and engage with LGBT consumers they
came to MinMark. Their first step was to guide and educate them about the important insight around
this segment and understand how Corona brand fits within their lifestyle. What Corona offers one kind
of a taste, an unparalleled flavor of relaxation and unmistakable color. Corona Extra/light wants to
focus on getting the LGBT communities interested in their product by promoting; these items in this
particular closed minded area where many people may not accept their brand. But giving a way to
open the mind of a consumer that homosexual people are not that different from straight people in the
way of having fun, relaxing and clubbing.

Excerpt From The Book Thief By Torren
Torren treated the priest to a kindly smile but shook his head. I don t see it fit to thank you for saving
my life by endangering yours. So in thanks for your kindness, I will avoid making you a target. he
leaned his weight back against the creaking chair and regarded the priest evenly. Just know, both the
gold and the symbols of faith I carry were payments for tasks done in service of those who issue such
things. You have not endeavored to snatch from the eleventh the life of a thief. The look the priest
gave him drew a weary smile from the spy, who glanced at the fireplace with a distant look in his
eyes. I would never had brought a man into my home with such wealth without questioning if he stole

The jailer, a large wart faced man with the disposition of a well kicked wild boar, was never one to
dally in his task. To this man s mind, anyone whom the king deemed vile enough to place under his

cowering in the corner of her too small cell, rape was a constant threat should she be anything but
obedient. She stood, quickly, her head cast at the ground and her hands clasped before her, the
chaffing marks on her wrists where the manacles dug in dripping the occasional speck of congealed
blood. Without a word she was unchained from the wall and dragged up the steps, past the lower,
grimmyer parts of the castle, up into the lofty chambers that housed Korvin and his guests. Raucous
laughter spilled from the small dinning hall where Korvin hosted closer friends and his three generals,
a small gathering of unquestioningly loyal men. By now no instructions were necessary. She was
steered to the head of the table where the imposing mass of the monarch sat swirling a glass of wine
and listening to his generals argue while those of more noble and less military purpose made
occasional jokes about their bickering. Without a word she selected a utensil from the myriad of tools
nobility used to process their food, and began tentatively sampling the platter. If only the bright eyed
man had left her a knife, instead of a vague promise of potential antidotes,

Working at The Bindery Essay
Working at The Bindery
I have a dream. I have a dream about getting a doctorate degree in music. Well, to get that far, I know I
must get through undergraduate school first, let alone graduate school, and so on. Last year I realized
that I needed a job that paid much more than minimum wage if I was going to afford to go to college. I
then heard about The Bindery from a friend in the same situation as I was. I filled out an application,
went to the orientation a few weeks later, and then discovered that working there would be no ordinary
job. I will now briefly explain how the factory works and then show you the ropes of working in my
department.

mandatory. Bring water to keep yourself hydrated, because it is very hot inside. Make out a time card
for yourself at the beginning of the week and punch in early everyday. Since you will be working
afternoon shift with me, I can tell you the schedule of work. Monday through Thursday, work is from
3:30pm 11:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch break at 7:30. Friday is 3:00pm 10:30pm. Saturday and
Sunday (usually optional) is 2:00pm 9:30pm. No lunch break on these days. Every day, there is a 5 10
minute break every two hours.
Now, I will share the steps to perform the duties of a gatherer in the bindery department. Place your
belongings at the end of the line on which you will be working, and out of people and fork truck
traffic. Grab a bundle of forms from the skid by the string or by the ends, lifting with your legs, and
cautiously throw it up on the pocket. Bundles can weigh from 25 to 50 pounds, depending on the type
of paper being used for the book. Throw as many bundles as it takes to fill the pocket, making sure
that the print on the spine of the paper is lined up correctly. This insures that the page numbers will go
in the correct order. A pocket usually holds about six or seven bundles to make it full. The number of
pages in the book being made determines the number of pockets

As 1967 drew to a close, it appeared that the U.S was gaining the upper hand in the Vietnam War. The
Tet Offensive of early 1968, however, began the steady decline of U.S fortunes in Vietnam, despite an
undeniable military victory. The Tet Offensive of early 1968 denoted the demise of American
confidence about the course of the Vietnam War. In the second half of 1967, General Westmoreland
made three treks home to the United States to brief President Lyndon Johnson on the advancement of
the war. He made a progression of open and private comments which painted an idealistic picture of
the circumstance in Vietnam. American troops were adjusting to the conditions, Westmoreland said;

Portrayal Of Women In Herland
The story of Herland depicts mostly about feminism, feminism is the advocating rights of women to
gain equality to men. Herland is about a society that is made up of entire women and the need for male
counterpart is not necessary. The story is narrated through the eyes of a male narrator Von, Jeff and
Terry. Three different points of view were given about how women should be treated. During reading
the novel it was seen that Herland uses the stereotypes of females and used it to their advantages
where they depict all females willing and able to complete the task that modern society would see fit
for a male. The women in the novel clothing were not provocative however, it was built to convenient
to their daily life and also for comfort. They did not show any flirtatious tendency, and the need of
male in any shape or form was never necessary for them. They were mostly mothers, builders and,
farmers. The women lived together peacefully without caring about gender biases in the world.
The story was based on three males who was filled with boyish intention about a civilization of
women waiting for a male to come and rescue them. But in contrast to this, the women of Herland did
not need saving. This Utopia was created to show the negative flaws that society has about a female,
for example, society will always think that a female is always a damsel in distress and always need
saving. The three males Von, Terry and Jeff are such exaggerations of masculinity, they feel that it

Personal Leisure Research Paper
My Personal Leisure As I get older, I find myself realizing I have spent too much time working. Being
consumed by my work, I felt I was doing what needed to be done to support my family. This was a
struggle for me because I thought I had to be the solution to the problems at work. This resulted in me
being at home less and working more. In the article Downshifting, it talks about how culture has
consumed leisure instead of creating it. Today consumerism has consumed us in the sense that we are
trapped by money, and those elements of creativity and sociability found in leisure are disappearing
(Junui, quoted by Hemingway 2000). I had no balance between work and family life. This was not
healthy for my relationship with my family. My job continued to take advantage of that weakness.
According to a reading from Pieper, intellectual work the exaggerated value which is put upon the
difficult simply because it is difficult becomes evident in the accentuation of a particular trait in the
look of the worker : the fixed, mask like readiness to suffer in vacuo, without relation to anything
(Pieper, 1952). This is referring to how my employer sees me as a hard worker and knows how to suck
me in like a vacuum. I had continued support of family with the decisions I was making, but my
family/work balance would not get any better.

The most frustrating and complex foreign policy issues in the world, was a statement that was once
used by past President Bill Clinton to describe foreign policy matters with the Balkans. This era of
history is a classic example of America s continuous battle between isolationism and internationalism.
Given the circumstances that were occurring throughout the Balkans Region the United States really
had no other option but to intervene. With America s leadership and their power to influence the

Under the Bill Clinton Administration reformation and foreign policy was beginning to be established
with the proper delegations, resources and policies. According to The History Place President Clinton
called for action, an ultimatum through the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) demanding
that the Serbs withdraw their artillery from Sarajevo. The Serbs quickly complied and a NATO
imposed cease fire in Sarajevo was declared. (Kershaw.) This was just the beginning of foreign
development solution for the Balkan region. The Clinton administration pushed diplomatic regulations
that were designed to unify the Serbs and the Croats. However, the Serbs did not take to the policies
very well and still continued to attack towns in the Croatian areas and kill them as well. The Serbs
began to disregard all Safe Haven zones that were established thus force for the UN to call air strikes
into the Serbs territory. It was until 1995 that America finally sent active military troop to assist in the
war overseas. With the success of the United States military the Serbs were quickly losing ground and
well as soldiers. This forced the Serbs to surrender as The History Place states, On November 1, 1995,
leaders of the warring factions including Milosevic and Tudjman traveled to the U.S. for peace talks at

was that the two nations be seceded from one another as independent states. Two was that democratic

Autoregulation Research Paper
It has been proved that defective autoregulation has relationship with pathologies like diabetes and
glaucoma. Autoregulation in the eye is defined as local vascular constriction or dilation causing
vascular resistance to reciprocally increase or decrease, so therefore maintaining a constant nutrient
supply in response to ocular perfusion pressure changes [Harris1998]. In the situation with increased
IOP, varying blood pressure and changes in normal blood flow figure out a result ocular perfusion
pressure decreased and local tissue metabolic pressure increased. Deficiency of stable blood flow
autoregulation may lead to ischemic damage of the optic nerve and retinal ganglion cells, which likely
contributes to further destruction in vascular regulation. These disadvantages of events might be occur

indicate that glaucoma patients have altered retinal circulation. Extensive morphological studies
describe endothelial proliferations in the retinal vessels of glaucoma patients. [Charlson2011] In study

Leg Hair Remover
If you think that a clump of hair is clogging up your drain, you can use some leg hair remover to clear
your drain. Take a container of leg hair remover and pour it down your drain. Let it sit in your drain
for at least an hour; this will give it some time to break up the hair that is clogging your drain.
After an hour or so has passed, pour a pot of hot water down your drain, then wait again. This will
push the hair remover further down your drain and will allow it to continue to break down the hair.
After another hour or so has passed, run the hot tap and see if the drain has become unclogged.
Baking Soda Apple Cider Vinegar
If your drain is not completely clogged but is draining slower than it should, pour equal amounts of

Social Class And Student Education
Social class can play a big part in the evolution of a student s education. For most students growing
up, all that crosses their minds is having fun and enjoying their childhood regardless of where they
come from. Once students start to recognize life after high school, it is no longer about fun and games,
instead they turn to their parents for guidance. This is where social class comes into the equation. A
student from a poor background will start to realize that they must work harder if they want to
continue their education and pursue college. All they are exposed to is what they notice their parents
are doing for a living. In most cases this revolves around getting a low paying job and living on a tight
budget. This is all the student is exposed to and if their parents don t know much about college they
can t expose their children to different paths, and students tend to be confused. Compare that to a
student who that comes from a middle class or rich family with more exposure to the world and the
different career paths. They are more aware of the opportunities that are around them. These students
know that going to college will guide you to success. Thus, by comparing the difference between low
and high class, learning that success doesn t come easy, and realizing that colleges affect the kinds of
opportunity a person gets, proves that social class controls student s paths to success. Rich students are
exposed to more influences that explains the importance of college

To Believe or Not to Believe, Modern Urban Legends Essay
To Believe or Not To Believe
Modern Urban Legends
Many people have heard the tale of the dotty grandmother who tried to dry off her damp poodle by
placing it in the microwave oven. The dog exploded, sad to say the least , and Grandma has never
been quite the same since. The story is not true; it is an urban legend, circulating by word of mouth
since the 1970s (Brunvand, 108). Urban legends are popular stories alleged to be true and transmitted
from person to person by oral or written communication. Legends tend to arise spontaneously and are
rarely traceable to a single point of origin. They spread primarily from individual to individual
through various communication, and only in atypical cases through mass ... Show more content on

The baby alligator gets sucked through the piping of the building and eventually ends up in the sewer
where it survives on eating rats and other garbage (Brown, 127). A person is more likely to believe the
tale if the storyteller gives them juicy details of a child they know getting chased by one while playing
in the disgusting muck, rather than saying they heard it in a coffee shop down the street. In the case of
a non cautionary legend, someone may believe the story just because it is humorous, and they are
completely amazed that such a thing has occurred.
The details of a good urban legend will keep the listener on the edge of his or her seat. quot;It is
human nature to want to spread this feeling to others, and be the one who s got everyone wanting to
hear how the story turns out quot; (Harris, 3). Even if it is a made up joke, they may want to
personalize it by claiming it happened to a friend. Another reason urban legends are so convincing is
the thought that the horrendous tale happened to a quot;friend of a friend. quot;
The life of an urban legend does rely mostly on the details contained within it to give the story the
interest it needs in order to be passed along to someone else, but there is something else that lies
underneath the success of the legend. Anyone can brush off a story from a

Copyright Law
1. Copyright law offers copyright holders the exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, and publicly
perform copyrighted work (Carnes). The copyright holder has the authority to govern how the
copyrighted material is distributed by giving specific permissions in writing. Without a specific
written permission, no one has the rights to distribute or sell the copyrighted work.
By selling collections that contain the whole program of the copyrighted material, Software of the
Month Club (SOMC) is selling the copyrighted material without permission from the copyright
holder, Cybersell Impact, Inc. The claim of endorsing and distributing the shareware as performing a
service for the creators infringes the copyright law because of the distributions of the whole program.
The copyright laws allow a small portion of copyrighted material to be used for socially beneficial
purposes, but not the whole program. And, there was a restriction on the distribution that allowed the
sample portion to be distributed without charge to users. The actual charging of the software and the
fact of the whole program being distributed violated the copyright laws and the restriction of the
copyright holder.
The behavior that is being encouraged by the copyright laws and the judges in this case is to treat each
other fair and with respect. If the copyright holder gives permission, then it is ok to distribute and sell,
depending on what is actually granted in the written permission. By not

How would you like to spend 20 to 30 minutes every day building one new relationship a day that will
double, perhaps even triple your income?
I m going to toss a new wrinkle into the relationship building game. I want you to think about two
words could have dramatic affect on your life and your income.
Those two words are on purpose.
What do you think might happen if you started creating new relationships on purpose? And what if
you attached an immediate dollar amount value to each of those new relationships?
That s what I did several years ago and my results have been nothing short of amazing. I know it
might sound cold and calculating to think like this, but bear with me.
It all started one evening as I was doing an Internet business seminar for a local S.C.O.R.E. chapter. I
was talking about how to increase the value of email in your business. I looked down and, by chance,
in my materials, I had one of those thousand dollar bill bookmarks you can buy at your local
bookstore. Hold

The True Meaning Of Love In Love With My Best Friend
Whenever I was a junior in high school, I fell completely in love with my best friend. I know this
sounds cliche, but this experience lead to many lessons. I did not realize another human being could
have such an impact on my life. Love is crazy because it is unexpected and smacks you right in the
face. I did not realize this person would be my every thing for the next two years. I did not realize all
the lessons I learned and growing I did. I not only learned the true meaning of heartbreak, but the true
meaning of love and life. With this experience, I reached out to see how different people cope, what I
have learned, and how this shaped me into who I am. The craziest thing about love is that it is abstract.
You may love an object or person, but you can not grab love. I am not going to go on about my
relationship, but the after math. The intimate details do not matter to me anymore. After every thing
went down, I felt broken. I felt like nothing in my life was going to be okay again. Isn t it
unimaginable how something you can not even see makes you feel this way? I shut out every thing
around me and pushed people away. All because one person decided to give up when I did not want to.
Even after the horrible exchanges of words were tossed back and forth, I still did not want to give up. I
was hoping his love would be strong enough to realize how much I cared. But it did not. It did not
mean anything to that careless boy. I d rather walk barefoot across broken glass. Weeks

Eden Park Research Paper
Introduction: The Colosseum and Eden park are both widely known structures. Eden park commonly
known to have held the 2011 rugby world cup. The Colosseum in Rome was known to have held
gladiator games and many other historical entertainment in roman times. Entry ways: In rome the
Colosseum has over LXXX (80) entry ways, this was made for quick seating before the entertainment
began. These door ways had roman numerals on top so people with tickets could find the entryway
corresponding to their ticket. Eden park has a similar system. People buy their tickets online, then they
are able to go to the game and find the doorway corresponding to their ticket and find their seat to
enjoy the entertainment. Over the years this has become an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The sports played at eden park are rugby, cricket, and soccer. This is the place where people can
support their country or team, in playing that sport they are interested in. rugby has had a huge part in
supporting eden park, due to the 2011 rugby world cup being held there.
Founders: the founder of Eden park was a man named Harry Ryan, as he walked past this piece of
land he saw a space where he could play his favourite game, cricket. Soon enough construction began
and soon Eden park was born. The idea for the Colosseum came from a man named Titus Flavius, this
was due to the amount of people coming to the games before the Colosseum was built. Up to 60,000
people would come and watch the games in a field. Titus saw that too many people were coming so he
thought about building a structure that was able to hold up to 80,000 people at a time. This was also
for people to be comfortable at the games. Conclusion: In conclusion the Colosseum and eden park
have their differences and similarities. They both carry their own history and have a lot of stories to
tell. Without the Colosseum we probably wouldn t have most of the structures we see today, and many
people should be grateful for the time and effort put into building these

Divorce Court Cases
One of the earliest examples of divorce was in Massachusetts Bay. When it was a colony, the people
had created a small judicial group that specifically dealt with divorce matters in 1629. This legislative
group was allowed to grant divorces on the grounds of adultery, desertion, bigamy (being married to
multiple people), and impotence (a man s inability to have sexual intercourse). In the northern
colonies, they tried to make divorce available to the people. However, southern colonies, due to their
more conservative views, tried to prevent the act of divorce, even if they had the same legislation (The
History of Divorce Law in the USA, 2014). Many of the American states had divorce legislation after

California was the first to adopt the law in 1969 and later on, other states (Iowa being the second) did
too (The History of Divorce Law in the USA, 2014). Over the years, divorce has increased as the
stigma against it has started to decrease since the 1800s. Divorce rates went from less than 3% to
about 7% from the late 1800s to the late 1960s. Before 1867, divorce statistics were not recorded.
While there was a large amount of dishonor attached to divorce in the 1800s, divorce still happened
every once in a while. One of the influences on divorce statistics at the time was that women outside
of marriage didn t have the same economic opportunities that men had. While divorce rates still weren
t that high compared to later on, divorce began to slowly increase. Divorce rates during the 1900s
were still low because you couldn t acquire a divorce without proving abuse, adultery, or
abandonment. Divorce continued to rise at a steady pace, significantly increasing in the 1970s. This
was because no fault divorce had just been made available and people could now file without the
hassle of having to prove something had caused the marriage to fall

lower income countries, neighborhoods, etc. People should start a charity, and then people that care
about it can pay for it and then the people of the United States of America will not be held back by the
ropes of taxes and be free to have cheaper taxes. Then the democrats and the green party will see what
the government should really be like and not very resistant to where people will be going into poverty.
Then people will understand that the government is very confusing right now, and people will be
happy with lowering taxes and then the government will be one closer step to having everything

doing that it makes people that are already having trouble with taxes. Now that we added this it is
going to be almost impossible for some people to live in this economy and the government also gives
the money from people to other people that are in a low income country. This all started when people
when into poverty and could not afford to keep people in their business so then it made it to where the
people that owned the business go bankrupt and not be able to afford their business and then the whole

Creation Myths And Its Impact On Society
As human beings, we have our own general understanding of how our world came to be. Whether we
are in church, the synagogue, or the temple humans have established ideologies. Humans use the
creation myths to bring about some understanding as to how humans magically or purposely inhabited
the earth. However, even though myths satisfy this yearning for how and why, the scientific world
revolted with the idea that creation myths are no longer satisfactory. In unison paleoanthropologists
and archeologists along with many other historians said that we as humans need a scientific, concrete,
and factual basis for our existence. As a result of many years of research and discovery the scientific
world came to two conclusions. Either Homo erectus evolved into Homo sapiens in each region of
migration (Spodek 16) most notably known as Candelabra. Or the Homo erectus evolved into Homo
sapiens only once in Africa (Spodek 16) most notably known as the Noah s Ark model. Through my
journey of understanding both schools of thought I began to rethink the basic sugar coated origins of
humanity that teachers spoon feed in high school. Spodek along with the associate authors shined a
little light on the fact that Homo sapiens most likely stemmed directly from Africa and migrated to
other places in the world. Which leads me to my thesis: Homo erectus evolved into Homo sapiens
only once in Africa, and then emigrated to the rest of the world. Even though my thesis aligns with the

There are several themes throughout Gene Luan Yang s graphic, picture paneled novel, American

multicultural ethnicities searching for cultural acceptance in a white America. This novel tells of three

there are three main characters: Monkey King, a legend who rules over Flower Mountain, Jin Wang,
an Asian third grader who has moved from San Francisco to a stereotypical middle class white
American suburb, and finally, Danny. Danny is an American white boy Jin has created to hide his

American Born Chinese is a story which echoes the determination of each character trying their best
to rise above the prejudices and preconceived notions of the cultural majority.
It is important to examine the transparent theme of injustices forced upon minority groups trying to

into a classroom where he is the only Asian boy. Immediately, on his first day of school, stereotyping
commences as the teacher incorrectly introduces Jin as having moved from China. Class I d like to

The war on terror Essay
Ever since the beginning of the terrorist attacks on American soil, the War on Terror has been involved
in the lives of Americans and nations near us. The War on Terror s background originated through
conflicts between warring countries in the Middle East; U.S. involvement started when a terrorist
guided plane crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 in New York City. The
attack was suspected to be the work of the middle eastern terrorist group Al Qaeda. The U.S. military,
under the leadership of then commander in chief George W. Bush, declared a War on Terror on the
terrorist group and the fighting began. Over ten plus years human rights and civil liberties have been

According to the UN only 9,759 civilians have died in Afghanistan, but the Lansing medical journal
reports that 654,965 civilian casualties occurred in Iraq from 2003 to 2006 so these reports should be
taken with a grain of salt. On the pro Saddam side of the war 76,778 Islamists fighters have died; these
deaths were made of security forces, private contractors, Sons of Iraq, and most were made up of other
supporters of the regime. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Armed Forces have
suffered 4,487 deaths and 32,223 were wounded in action as of May 2012.
As seen by these studies the people suffering are more so the families of the innocent civilians than
those who fought in the conflicts, and a lot of them were not killed by soldiers. As shown by sites like
WikiLeaks many civilian deaths are caused by mines or drones. These numbers show the amount of
devastation caused by the War on terror and more than ten years later these numbers are still rising.
Ultimately there are still over 50,000 troops in Afghanistan and there are still plans to remain there for
a while. Another consequence of the war is that in a combination of regarding the safety of the
homeland and getting an edge against possible threats, civil liberties have been violated and human
rights have been abused. After the 9/11 attack on Twin Towers and the Pentagon the U.S. government
has called for new forms of defense against possible attacks

Energy Drinks Red Bull
What are energy drinks? Cola and coffee drinks have long been promoted and known as energy drinks
meant to give you a little pick me up, mostly in the form of caffeine and sugar. Jolt Cola in the 80s
was one of the early entries in the energy drink market, with double the caffeine of normal colas, it

Bars and clubs remain important outlets for energy drinks across Europe Many people will try an
energy drink brand for the first time in a bar, with or without alcohol there is a growing trend towards
everyday consumption as a source of energy.
This in itself throws up other challenges not least how the brands, and the stores that sell them,
distinguish themselves from each other. This has led to a range of new products, which differentiate
themselves from Red Bull through packaging, or colour, or taste, or through what they contain, said
Hall. Consumers are increasingly knowledgeable, and they understand more and more about the
ingredients in these drinks, so if the science is good, it can be a real selling point.
Sports drinks are perhaps a case in point. They are generally linked with energy drinks, and indeed
have a number of similarities in terms of functionality and target audience. Yet they are generally
consumed in different situations they are unlikely to be consumed in a bar, for example and have
different effects on the body.

The rest of the paper is organized into various different sections as follows. In section 2, we give a
brief outline of the approaches for securing both the audit log files and well as the audit logs server
along with other security mechanisms. The third section includes a brief study of how we can index
and retrieve the data for any forensic investigation which may be quite essential in a fast paced
criminal investigation. The fourth section discusses in depth about the use of the valuable information
uncovered using log files and how they can help us find important patterns.
2. Description of Alternative Approaches
In this paper, mainly two ideas to secure the information in audit logs have been defined. One of the
first approaches is to secure only the audit files from attacker, such that, even if the machine is
compromised, the attacker will obtain no or very little knowledge from the current log files and is not
able to plant false information in the log file itself. The second approach is more concerned with the
securing the Log server itself by using encryption as well as dynamic IP techniques. Both the methods
have been defined in detail below.
2.1 Securing the Audit Logs
The audit log servers are differentiated into three different entities such as Untrusted Machine, Trusted

then began to read more books focusing more on underage drinking. I wanted to learn more about the
effects of drinking on teens. What made teens want to drink? I then went on the web to find answers to
my questions. I found many answers that helped me understand more about why underage drinking
isn t such a good idea. I then interview my aunt Cori DuVall who was once a underage drinker. She
gave me many answers such as how it affected her, what the consequences were, why she wish she
never drank, and why she think teenagers shouldn t drink. By using the books, internet, and
interviewing my aunt I was able to find out more about the effects of underage drinking and why it
should be stopped.
The Results of my Search Drinking alcohol is like taking a drug. It is a worldwide problem. One of the
larger groups effected by alcohol is teenagers and young adults. According to the book Alcohol
Drinking to get drunk has become more common. Teenagers and young adults say they drink for the
buzz. As time progresses underage drinking becomes more relevant. Teens and young adults drink for
various reasons but don t think of the consequences or effects. Although alcohol abuse causes long
term and short term effects, young people still abuse it. Alcohol abuse causes many short term effects.

Mediation supports people to find a path through the pain of conflict and out to resolution. Mediation
does help parties to generate their own positive outcome from their conflict journey (Katherine
Graham, 2010) .
According to Vivian Scott, every person involved in a conflict, has a responsibility in that conflict. As
difficult as it is to admit you probably have some responsibility in the conflict. Self assessment, and by
that I mean more than 30 seconds of superficial introspection, requires you to consider how your
actions and reactions look to others. Ask yourself, what have I said or done, or not said or done, that
has kept this conflict going? Change may not happen overnight, and you may need the assistance of
friends, family, or professionals to help you through the transition. No need to continue being the
bully, the one who stirs the pot, or even the victim. If it takes two to tango and you re no longer
willing to dance, the conflict has no choice but to diminish, (Vivian Scott, 2010) .

Q1. I wanted you to begin by recognising that this was a turnaround situation, with Ducati in 1996
close to bankruptcy. A new management team led by Minoli changed strategy with clear objectives of
aggressive growth within a niche of the sports segment and competing as a focussed differentiator.
The logic of the turnaround can be conceptualised as follows
(a) Ducati reduced costs without affecting the WTP for the physical product (i.e. the quality and
reliability of the product has increased despite reduced costs). Major reductions were in motorcycle
material costs (from 68.2% to 59% of unit costs, exhibit 12) and can be attributed to the following
factors: (1) rationalised ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mention also other incompatibilities wrt activities and resources (e.g. distribution systems,
organisational culture, management and technical skills etc) which cannot be easily changed by
Honda. Also explain why setting up a separate entity as a way for Honda to mitigate these
incompatibilities is fraught with difficulties such as time lags and the need to share resources and
transfer knowledge etc. With these types of arguments, the conclusion would be that Ducati s strategy
is sustainable.
Q3. Developing strategic alternatives depends on the objectives to be achieved and the companies
need to sustain competitive advantage whilst achieving these objectives. These issues in turn depend
on the key strategic challenges the company is facing internally (areas of vulnerability) or external
threats and the available opportunities to exploit. A key objective for Ducati is to maintain double digit
growth (10% market share). However, a key constraint for focussed differentiators is that the very
factors that brought them success i.e. clear trade offs and positioning also constrain growth because
growth/strategy options may be incompatible or inconsistent with their original strategy position.
Another challenge for focussed differentiators is that their small size places them at a cost
disadvantage. Ducati s fixed costs per unit were 26.2% of revenue versus 16% for HD (exhibit 12). In
addition achieving the level of success Ducati aims

The Socio Economic Status Affects Education
Proving students in our Nation with a better education can help save our children from the clutches of
poverty, crime, drugs, and hopelessness, and we help safeguard our Nation s prosperity for generations
yet unborn. Elijah Cummings. He makes a very extremely good point. Kids who receive a better
education rarely ever become poor, fall into crime or drugs. They learn exactly what they need to do to
become successful. Which is the main reason why when you look at kids who are poor they aren t
getting the smarted and neither are their parents. The socio economic status does impact education in
many ways if not in all ways. A lot of people would say that it has nothing to do with money and it all
depends on the person, but have you ever realized that people who live in Beverly Hills have a way
better education than someone in Philadelphia. What makes them so different? One thing and that s
money. Those parents are able to pay for their kids to have the best education out there. While some
families in Philadelphia can barely afford to feed their kids. Of course though that s not the only factor
when it comes to a kid who receives the better education. It also depends on how much the school
makes in terms of money and the teachers, because even if you re not poor or if you live in a bad area
then your kid could be receiving a bad education.
Isaiah Lamb was once one of the many students in public education who standard of living was very
poor Money for his family was

Jewish Diaspora Essay
Khachig Tölölyan terms the past few decades as a transnational moment...a time of fragmentation,
heterogeneity, and unparalleled mass dispersion...a time of cultural and political regrouping, of
renewed confidence for ethnonations existing across the boundaries of established nation states
(1991:4). In this period, there has been a discursive shift to categorize people who have transgressed
national boundaries as diaspora. This term, once primarily used to describe the Jewish diaspora, has
increased in use since the late 1980s (Brubaker 2005: 1), as scholars have attempted to develop a
discourse to discuss and theorize the migration of peoples within a transnational context.
In age of globalization, the boundaries of the nation state has become ... Show more content on

Its origins can be traced back to the Greek word diaspeirein, meaning a fruitful scattering of seeds
(Tölölyan 1996: 10). Kim D. Butler writes, the word diaspora is defined, at its simplest, as the
dispersal of a people from its original homeland (2001: 189). Yet this simple definition does not
explain how diaspora is distinguishable from other forms of migration, for we can assume that all
peoples migrated from a point of origin at some time. Scholar Floya Anthias takes a different approach
in defining diaspora:
Diaspora references a connection between groups across different nation states whose commonality
derives from an original but maybe removed homeland; a new identity becomes constructed on a
world scale which crosses national borders and boundaries...it may also denote a social condition,
entailing a particular form of consciousness (1998:2).
In this way, study of diaspora affords us a view of social processes beyond the national scale, one that
possibly transcends boundaries of the nation state and instead focuses on the global and dynamic ties
between migrants, their country of origin, and their current country of residence. It becomes a way of
identifying oneself with a specific group and choosing to take on or reject a form of

The Major Performing Arts Sector in Australia
The Major Performing Arts sector in Australia
The Major Performing Arts (MPA) sector comprises 28 leading Australian companies in the fields of
dance, theatre, opera and orchestral and chamber music (Australian Council, 2012: 3) [The list of the
28 companies see the Appendix]. By 1997, this sector encountered great financial and artistic
difficulties. In this case, the Australia Government announced the establishment of the Major
Performing Arts Inquiry (MPAI) in 1998 and the final report Securing the Future was released next
year (Australian Major Performing Arts Group). The statistics demonstrates that the MPA sector is
developing stably over the past 14 years.
The MPA sector s income is mainly from three sources: box office, government funding and private
sector. In 2012, the sector received about $420m income in the aggregate, increasing from $261m in
2001. The box office income amounted to $203m, which increased from $117m in 2001 and occupied
nearly 50% of the total income (Australia Council, 2013). The growth of the box office is partly
depends on the increase of audience number and partly on the 44% average increase of the sector
ticket prices (Australia Council, 2012: 11). Around $140m were from both federal and state
governments and the private sector contributed $65m. The 28 companies reported a combined
operating surplus of $12.7m in 2012. With the huge amount of income, the MPA sector employed
about 8,400 people, including 4,600 artists (Australia Council,

3. Roland Barthes developed a range of semiotic tools to analyse the cultural meanings that are
conveyed in advertising images, in a particular context. Using these semiotic tools, select and analyse
four magazine adverts.
This essay will discuss Roland Barthes ideas and his semiotic tools, and will also look at how Barthes
uses these tools to analyse images and how they make us think.
Roland Barthes was a French philosopher who wrote many books about the literary theory and
semiotics. His writing has influenced and helped shape many postmodern theories. His most famous
book Death of the author explains his theory on visual analysis. Barthes says that when we see an
image, the author or creator of the image does not matter. Each individual person will find a meaning
from that image. We all analyse images on our own.
The meaning of an image lies with the audience. The author is not the authority on the meaning of the
image. Although we are all quite similar in what we get from an image, different people will get
different meanings. This is due to the experiences we have had throughout life. Barthes says no object
has a natural meaning. (Barthes, 1967 p.25) Meanings are defined by culture, so for example, if in the
UK someone does the thumbs up , we take this to mean that everything is okay, but if someone does it
whilst standing at the side of the road, it means they want a lift, and in scuba diving it means you want
to go up to the surface.

Two minutes later, Engine 13 reported fire on the second and third floors. IC#1 then ordered lines to
be taken to the second and third floors and active firefighting began. At 1831 hours IC#2 arrived and

interior operations. IC#1 reported that heavy fire was burning on the second and third floors.
Crews arriving on the first alarm were split into 2 man crews and were assigned to search the building
for victims and fire extension. Serving on one of the crews were Brotherton and Lucey from Rescue 1.
All the crews proceeded up the stairwell and observed the other crew from Rescue 1 enter the third
floor. Engine 1 s crew, Brotherton and Lucey continued to the roof. Once on the roof, they reported to
Interior Command that they were on the roof and had heavy smoke and embers showing. The crew
then ventilated a skylight and proceeded down the stair well to the sixth floor and conducted a search.
After searching the sixth floor, they descended to the fifth floor to search for victims. Meanwhile
Engine 1 s crew conducted their search on the second floor and the other crew from Rescue 1 searched
the third floor. Upon completion of their search, Engine 1 s crew descended the stairwell until

Human Cloning Is Not More Difficult Than Cloning
Human cloning involves removing the nucleus of a human egg and replacing it with the nucleus of an
existing person (Glannon, p. 89). It is the genetic duplication of an existing person (CGS). Identical
twins are a naturally occurring cloning (Science Daily). Several countries worldwide have bans on
human cloning (Kilner). The U.S. government has cut funding for cloning research (Kilner).
Arguments in favor of human cloning point out the benefits of advancing technology, while those
against question the effect it has on human dignity and even the clone itself.
Although the clone has the DNA of the donor, the clone will have epigenetic effects. Epigenetic
disturbances refer to the altered physical structures of the DNA, but not the DNA sequence itself
(Epigenetics). Cloning technology has produced clones of several mammals, including sheep, mice,
goats, and horses (AMA). Cloning humans is technically more difficult than cloning other mammals
(Cloning Fact Sheet). The process is still extremely inefficient and rarely produces viable cells. Those
usable cells are unlikely to survive until birth (AMA). So far, animal cloning research has caused
death and deformities of the clone (Kilner). Dolly, a cloned sheep, aged rapidly and had to be
euthanized at six years old (Glannon, p91). We can assume that human cloning will also have a dismal
failure rate (AMA). It would be considered unethical to attempt to produce human clones due to the
potential physical harm to the cloned child

How Can Hamlet Be Banned
HAMLET SYNOPSIS
It is a dark winter night and a ghost is wandering the grounds of the Danish castle, Elsinore. There are
various sightings of this ghost, all of which confirm it to be the ghost of the King, who recently died.
The throne was taken by his brother Claudius, who also married Queen Gertrude. Prince Hamlet, King
Hamlet s son, is brought to the castle. There, it is confirmed that the ghost is of King Hamlet, and the
ghost tells Prince Hamlet that he was murdered by none other than Claudius. King Hamlet wants the
Prince to avenge his death.
After this, Prince Hamlet becomes obsessed with seeking revenge upon Claudius. However, as he is
thoughtful and not violent, he waits, and descends into a depressive, obsessed madness. The King and
Queen are concerned for Hamlet s behaviour and hire his two friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to
watch him and look for signs of madness. The Lord Chamberlain, Polonius, suggest that Hamlet may
be deeply in love with his daughter Ophelia, however Hamlet shows no signs of being in love and
instead, claims that he wishes marriage to be banned and that Ophelia should be sent to a nunnery. ...

Cuban Politics And Its Effects On The United States
Alberto Korda took two photos on March 5, 1960. One of the still frames would immortalize one of
the most infamous and controversial ideologues to have ever lived. The image being draped over
millions of shirts, posters, and most significantly the Ministry of the Interior building in Cuba. Che
Guevara being celebrated by the Castro s, and his ideals forced upon Cuba by them. The Castro family
has held power in Cuba since the 1960 s. Cuba being ruled by Fidel Castro until recently his brother
Raul took charge. Both men being disliked by the global public and Fidel Castro recognized as an evil
dictator. What is many times overlooked was the fact that Che Guevara was just as pivotal to the
sinister Cuban regime. Che had major effects on the abuse of a society, Cuban politics, and the
justification of evil.
While still idolized by many, Che was far from a hero or a just man. Through the annals of history
there have always been false idols who have abused power. The individuals who lead these great
attacks on not only people that they attack but the good of humanity as a whole. Che Guevara was a
leader of the Cuban Revolution who still represents hope and anti oppression for many. Despite his
later vile and atrocious acts he is still mistakenly viewed as an icon a facade of what is imagined of
him to be. The reality is that he committed evil and impermissible acts This is a man who banned

Zoos Are Saving Endangered Animals From Extinction Many thought zoos were just for attraction,
but they are meant for more than just that.
Several zoos that we go to nowadays with our families are not only there for the sightseeing of the
animals, but they are they re for their safety. Endangered animals are now the priority of practically
every zoo in the world. There have already been six species around the world saved from extinction by
zoos. One may wonder, what do these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The caretakers of the zoos and the animal care staff always make sure that the animals are always well
looked after and feel as close to their natural habitat and home as possible. The safe environment of
the zoo increases life expectancy of endangered animals. As said by naturalist Kate Sheridan from
Quora.com that animals live longer in zoos because they are removed from the food change and from
natural hazards. The animals health and diet is monitored carefully so if anything is wrong with the
animals , the zoo veterinarians know what to do and how to heal the animal. Several species have been
protected and reintroduced by zoos. A study by Ariel Woodruff on Uproxx.com lists many animals
who were saved by zoos. Here are a few endangered species who were protected by zoological parks;
the Red Wolf was placed on the list of most endangered animals in 1969. With fewer and fewer
wolves left , The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service took action
by working on four of the Red Wolves left in the world. By 1980 the scientists of the The Point
Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and U.S Fish and Wildlife Service declared that the breed was extinct but
then in 1987 the Red Wolf was revived . Now there are more than 100 Red Wolves in the world. In the
same study by Ariel Woodruff , the California Condor was placed in the near to extinction list in the
early 1980 s with only 23 birds streaming in the skies.

Analysis of the Old Romanticism Genre through Izzy,...
When we think of romance novels, one s first thought might be of the kind we see at the newsstand
while waiting to check out at the grocery store. Visions of a white knight like Fabio whisking away the
fair damsel in distress. Romance novels for the young adult are appealing because many romantic
symbols relate directly to what they re experiencing both physically and emotionally in their lives; that
of youthfulness and hope.
The protagonist of Izzy, Willy Nilly is Isobel Lingard, a/k/a Izzy; a 15 year old sophomore, who is a
popular girl at school. When asked out by a senior, Marco Griggers, she becomes the envy of her
friends. The ironic thing is that she wasn t even that interested in him, personally. It was more the fact
that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example of the visions Izzy had through her alternate little Izzy was when she came home
from the hospital and was trying to develop some type of routine. Learning how to adjust living in the
real world with her physical challenges. Izzy could see little Izzy all folded up on the floor. She looked
like a bad imitation of the dying swan, her leg and a half stuck out and her head bowed down. Little
Izzy put her hands over her face, wanting to disappear into the gray darkness of depression that was
swallowing her alive.
Romance literature for young adults uses the characteristic of exaggeration to express a variety of
emotions to its reader. This normally is accomplished in a fast paced plot, where the characters are few
and the narrative events and language flow quickly while still presenting dramatic images. In Izzy,
Willy Nilly, all of the different incidents with Izzy s girlfriends and the townspeople help to portray
how society has a tendency to only look at things from a superficial view. Izzy originally thinks the
same way when Rosamunde first enters her life. Rosamunde is different than anyone Izzy has ever
known. She isn t very pretty; she doesn t dress well at all; she is also very outspoken and opinionated
about everything. At first, this difference is a barrier between the two girls and their interactions with
each other. Rosamunde is constantly apologizing for overstepping her

Effective communication
There are various methods of communication we can use as a HR Professional, and which method we

Listed below are three methods and their pros and cons.

Persuasive
Presentation two way communication
Powerful to sell decisions
Unlikely to sell a large idea without written evidence as back up

If for example we were trying to sell an idea of a change that we would like to implement, a report
would indeed be factual, perhaps issued to Managers, who may not have the time to read it and would
be your key influencers as to whether your idea would be approved or not.
It would be to your advantage to give a verbal and lively presentation, which would enable you to
persuade your audience of the idea and also provide a two way conversation, with any questions
Managers may have that may not not be immediately

  • 2. Say No to Doping! Doping in sports has been one of the most discussed issues by the world; either by the free writers or the body of agencies related with sports. The discussion about this kind of issue has started long time ago but it became more controversial and intense when Lance Armstrong, who won the 2002 Tour de France by leaving his nearest rival 7 seconds behind, failed the drug test (Cashmore) . Ellis Cashmore, a professor of culture, media, and sports at Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, through his article, Making Sense of Sports , came up with an argument that drug should be allowed in sports. In the article, he effectively countered the argument of some people out there that taking drug will lead to the unfair competition. As we are from the generation who are never bored of seeking the best in human ability, the usage of drug is crucial in order to boost the performance of the athlete. The prohibition of drug usage in sports surely will affect the athletes performances and next lead to the turning off by the fans and this is surely a thing needs to be taken into account (Cashmore) . I, myself, agree with Ellis Cashmore that drug should be allowed in sports and I will explain my argument in terms of the misconception about drug, the role of drug in promising competitive sports, and the function of drug in maintaining athletes health. First, in order to change the entire rule of sports by allowing the presence of drug in sports, the misconception about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Write An Essay On The Ip Era Feminism Essay Although many laws in our legal system treat women differently than men passing an Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) would not solve the systematic discrimination evident in the US. An ERA serves the purpose to gift equal rights to all citizens regardless of gender. The ERA composed by Alice Paul stated the purpose that Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex. To fix the widespread discrimination against women, rather than pass an ERA women need to be given a minority group status. The ERA, proposed by Alice Paul was not added to the constitution in 1979 as it had only achieved ratification from 35 of the needed 38 states. The opposition was not only ... Although people of Asian race are among the highest in income, graduation rate, and education they are awarded a minority group status. This is unfair as Asian Americans do not need the protection of a minority group status because they succeed anyway. • 4. What Is The Role Of Julius Caesar And Augustus Gaius and Lucius Julius Caesar were adopted by Augustus in 17 BC. They were under the care of Agrippa if he should die. Augustus and Agrippa had their powers renewed and became involved in Gaul and the northern frontiers of Italy. Agrippa will turn his attention to the eastern provinces. In 13 BC, Tiberius received his first consulship, which was an important step for him in the political and social ladder. Agrippa started to return from the east, however he fell ill and died. This was a crushing blow for Augustus to lose his lifelong friend. This was probably the only man in his circle he could truly trust. He had helped Augustus in both the political and military world of Rome. Agrippa was a humble man and seems to be content with the role he was given. There was a grandiose funeral from him and was even buried in Augustus mausoleum. Lepidus who was the pontifex maximus, which is the head of the priests, passed away the title was given over to Augustus. In 11 BC, Tiberius married Julia supporting the bloodline and relation to Augustus. He then turned his attention to the campaigns against the Dalmatians and Pannonians. Augustus once again took the consulship but for his own interest and pursuit. He lead Gaius into the Forum, where the Senate voted that in five years he was to be consul. Augustus did the same ritual for Lucius while holding his 13th consulship. He took great care to have them prepared to succeed him. However, Lucius died in 2 AD and his brother later in 4 ... • 6. The Leader And The Follower Quote from Jerry Rice Today I will do what others won t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can t . Leadership is not a title; it is not a trade, or some sort of hierarchy. Positive leadership is really something more. For leadership to exist, the leader has to have influence to lead oneself, and to lead others. Leadership at its core is a process of influence, meaning the influence must be transactional. The leader must affect the follower by setting goals, and the follower must affect the leader by setting goals. As the leader and the follower come together in a common understanding, and with a common sense of purpose, only then can they begin to move together to accomplish a common goal. Self Assessment: Social motives, Leadership Style, Styles of Conflict, Leader Member Exchange. The definition of an achievement leader is for management to set challenging goals, assists in training, emphasize improvement, and expect the highest levels of performance. I personally believe an achievement leader is one who believes it is the best to get the job done right, by keeping their employees happy. Positive results from this are creativity in the workplace, departments working together as a team, motivation within the company, and a low retention rate. The negative results are too much responsibility for the employee, with no guidance from the leader. Including low performance skills and failure to do the task that are presented. The modern business environment requires ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Impact of Accounting Systems on Project Funds Absorption Capacity Case study of agricultural research projects in Rwanda By: Laurent NDIRAMIYE, BAS, MBA Maastricht, September 2008 This paper was written in the framework of an MBA thesis at the Maastricht School of Management (MSM) under the supervision of Prof Eno L. Inanga ABSTRACT The absorption capacity is one of key indicators on which financing agencies base the allocation of financial resources to sponsored projects, and should hence be closely monitored. Its level was reported to be low in developing countries, according to studies conducted by the World Bank, the OECD and ODI. However these studies focused on macroeconomic indicators and less on developing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is mainly due to the fact that several programs compete for the agricultural income in developing countries agricultural dependent economies. In addition, while the agricultural research is largely financed by private funds in developed countries, the share of the private sector is too low in developing countries. The system relies either on government funding and/or external assistance, especially in Sub Saharan Africa. According to Pardey et al. (2006), donor contributions (including World Bank loans) in Sub Saharan Africa accounted for an average of 35% of funding to principal agricultural research agencies in 2000. Even though this share shows a decreasing trend, the share of external funds in agricultural research varies from country to country, as several countries, such as Eritrea, are highly dependent on external aid for agricultural research (figure 1), while others, such as Sudan, use their own internal income to this end. Donor agricultural research financing in developing countries is channelled either through the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), a consortium of 15 agricultural research centers , regional research networks, or directly to national agricultural research systems. • 8. Compare And Contrast Corona And Old Spice Old Spice and Corona are two popular companies in American s culture today, especially around holidays and summer time. Their ads parallel one another because of appealing features such as having fun on the beach or sailing on the sea. The messages they both give throughout their individual ads are about lifestyle. For example, a healthy message of Corona s is to enjoy yourself, by relaxing and living in the moment. Therefore, many of Corona clients believe their product as a stress reliever. Old Spice s message is that this fragrance makes you smell and seem manlier by you using their products such as their hair gel, shampoo, and deodorant. The most interesting thing about the two brands is their showmanship involving the intense focus on getting each product out to the consumers. Old Spice an American advertising campaign developed by ad agency Wieden + Kennedy in 2010 featuring Isaiah Mustafa became popular after the first advertisement, The Man your Man could smell like, went viral. Which is owned by Procter Gamble Men s grooming products such as deodorants and antiperspirants, shampoos, body washes and soaps. Initially launched as Early American Old Spice by William Lightfoot Schultz s soap and toiletries company, Shulton inc., in 1937, it was first targeted to women, with the men s product only being released before Christmas at the end of that year. When the #1 imported beer in American wanted to reach and engage with LGBT consumers they came to MinMark. Their first step was to guide and educate them about the important insight around this segment and understand how Corona brand fits within their lifestyle. The jailer, a large wart faced man with the disposition of a well kicked wild boar, was never one to dally in his task. To this man s mind, anyone whom the king deemed vile enough to place under his charge deserved whatever horrid fate the cruel man s twisted mind could develop. For the girl cowering in the corner of her too small cell, rape was a constant threat should she be anything but obedient. She stood, quickly, her head cast at the ground and her hands clasped before her, the chaffing marks on her wrists where the manacles dug in dripping the occasional speck of congealed blood. Without a word she was unchained from the wall and dragged up the steps, past the lower, grimmyer parts of the castle, up into the lofty chambers that housed Korvin and his guests. Raucous laughter spilled from the small dinning hall where Korvin hosted closer friends and his three generals, a small gathering of unquestioningly loyal men. By now no instructions were necessary. She was steered to the head of the table where the imposing mass of the monarch sat swirling a glass of wine and listening to his generals argue while those of more noble and less military purpose made occasional jokes about their bickering. Well, to get that far, I know I must get through undergraduate school first, let alone graduate school, and so on. I filled out an application, went to the orientation a few weeks later, and then discovered that working there would be no ordinary job. The Tet Offensive of early 1968, however, began the steady decline of U.S fortunes in Vietnam, despite an undeniable military victory. The Tet Offensive of early 1968 denoted the demise of American confidence about the course of the Vietnam War. In the second half of 1967, General Westmoreland made three treks home to the United States to brief President Lyndon Johnson on the advancement of the war. He made a progression of open and private comments which painted an idealistic picture of the circumstance in Vietnam. • 13. Portrayal Of Women In Herland The story of Herland depicts mostly about feminism, feminism is the advocating rights of women to gain equality to men. Herland is about a society that is made up of entire women and the need for male counterpart is not necessary. The story is narrated through the eyes of a male narrator Von, Jeff and Terry. Three different points of view were given about how women should be treated. During reading the novel it was seen that Herland uses the stereotypes of females and used it to their advantages where they depict all females willing and able to complete the task that modern society would see fit for a male. The women in the novel clothing were not provocative however, it was built to convenient to their daily life and also for comfort. They did not show any flirtatious tendency, and the need of male in any shape or form was never necessary for them. They were mostly mothers, builders and, farmers. The women lived together peacefully without caring about gender biases in the world. The story was based on three males who was filled with boyish intention about a civilization of women waiting for a male to come and rescue them. But in contrast to this, the women of Herland did not need saving. • 14. Personal Leisure Research Paper My Personal Leisure As I get older, I find myself realizing I have spent too much time working. Being consumed by my work, I felt I was doing what needed to be done to support my family. This was a struggle for me because I thought I had to be the solution to the problems at work. This resulted in me being at home less and working more. In the article Downshifting, it talks about how culture has consumed leisure instead of creating it. Today consumerism has consumed us in the sense that we are trapped by money, and those elements of creativity and sociability found in leisure are disappearing (Junui, quoted by Hemingway 2000). I had no balance between work and family life. This was not healthy for my relationship with my family. My job continued to take advantage of that weakness. According to a reading from Pieper, intellectual work the exaggerated value which is put upon the difficult simply because it is difficult becomes evident in the accentuation of a particular trait in the look of the worker : the fixed, mask like readiness to suffer in vacuo, without relation to anything (Pieper, 1952). This is referring to how my employer sees me as a hard worker and knows how to suck me in like a vacuum. I had continued support of family with the decisions I was making, but my family/work balance would not get any better. Two years ago, I decided to go back to school which limited my spare or disposable time (Juniu, 2000) with the family. Modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Social Class And Student Education Social class can play a big part in the evolution of a student s education. For most students growing up, all that crosses their minds is having fun and enjoying their childhood regardless of where they come from. Once students start to recognize life after high school, it is no longer about fun and games, instead they turn to their parents for guidance. This is where social class comes into the equation. A student from a poor background will start to realize that they must work harder if they want to continue their education and pursue college. All they are exposed to is what they notice their parents are doing for a living. In most cases this revolves around getting a low paying job and living on a tight budget. This is all the student is exposed to and if their parents don t know much about college they can t expose their children to different paths, and students tend to be confused. Compare that to a student who that comes from a middle class or rich family with more exposure to the world and the different career paths. They are more aware of the opportunities that are around them. These students know that going to college will guide you to success. Thus, by comparing the difference between low and high class, learning that success doesn t come easy, and realizing that colleges affect the kinds of opportunity a person gets, proves that social class controls student s paths to success. In the case of a non cautionary legend, someone may believe the story just because it is humorous, and they are completely amazed that such a thing has occurred. Whether we are in church, the synagogue, or the temple humans have established ideologies. Humans use the creation myths to bring about some understanding as to how humans magically or purposely inhabited the earth. However, even though myths satisfy this yearning for how and why, the scientific world revolted with the idea that creation myths are no longer satisfactory. In unison paleoanthropologists and archeologists along with many other historians said that we as humans need a scientific, concrete, and factual basis for our existence. As a result of many years of research and discovery the scientific world came to two conclusions. Either Homo erectus evolved into Homo sapiens in each region of migration (Spodek 16) most notably known as Candelabra. Or the Homo erectus evolved into Homo sapiens only once in Africa (Spodek 16) most notably known as the Noah s Ark model. Figure 1: Map Display of international cyber attacks. Introduction In recent years, Cybercrime has increased radically and it is becoming more vital for people to grant protection on their computers and data just as they do with anything else they deem needs to be secured. The improved rate for the need of security also applies to conceptual institutes of small businesses. Small businesses keep record of client, personal, product, and explicit company finance information and data. With this wealth of information and the increase in cybercrime, small businesses need an effective solution to defend their computer systems and data from cyber attackers.

Computer Science University of Idaho shre6177@vandals.uidaho.edu Abstract A large number of real world applications, use audit trails or logs to keep in track of system usage and error handling information. Security aspect of these log files and their retrieval from an untrusted machine becomes a topic of vital importance in computer forensics investigation [2, 3]. Accurate retrieval of data from these log files for gathering information is another important aspect in computer forensics [4]. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1.2 Organization of Content in Paper The rest of the paper is organized into various different sections as follows. In section 2, we give a brief outline of the approaches for securing both the audit log files and well as the audit logs server along with other security mechanisms. The third section includes a brief study of how we can index and retrieve the data for any forensic investigation which may be quite essential in a fast paced criminal investigation. The fourth section discusses in depth about the use of the valuable information uncovered using log files and how they can help us find important patterns. 2. Description of Alternative Approaches In this paper, mainly two ideas to secure the information in audit logs have been defined. One of the first approaches is to secure only the audit files from attacker, such that, even if the machine is compromised, the attacker will obtain no or very little knowledge from the current log files and is not able to plant false information in the log file itself. The second approach is more concerned with the securing the Log server itself by using encryption as well as dynamic IP techniques. Both the methods have been defined in detail below. 2.1 Securing the Audit Logs The audit log servers are differentiated into three different entities such as Untrusted Machine, Trusted Machine and ... Mediation does help parties to generate their own positive outcome from their conflict journey (Katherine Graham, 2010) . According to Vivian Scott, every person involved in a conflict, has a responsibility in that conflict. As difficult as it is to admit you probably have some responsibility in the conflict. Self assessment, and by that I mean more than 30 seconds of superficial introspection, requires you to consider how your actions and reactions look to others. Ask yourself, what have I said or done, or not said or done, that has kept this conflict going? A new management team led by Minoli changed strategy with clear objectives of aggressive growth within a niche of the sports segment and competing as a focussed differentiator. The logic of the turnaround can be conceptualised as follows (a) Ducati reduced costs without affecting the WTP for the physical product (i.e. the quality and reliability of the product has increased despite reduced costs). Major reductions were in motorcycle material costs (from 68.2% to 59% of unit costs, exhibit 12) and can be attributed to the following factors: (1) rationalised ... Q3. Developing strategic alternatives depends on the objectives to be achieved and the companies need to sustain competitive advantage whilst achieving these objectives. These issues in turn depend on the key strategic challenges the company is facing internally (areas of vulnerability) or external threats and the available opportunities to exploit. A key objective for Ducati is to maintain double digit growth (10% market share). However, a key constraint for focussed differentiators is that the very factors that brought them success i.e. clear trade offs and positioning also constrain growth because growth/strategy options may be incompatible or inconsistent with their original strategy position. Another challenge for focussed differentiators is that their small size places them at a cost disadvantage. Ducati s fixed costs per unit were 26.2% of revenue versus 16% for HD (exhibit 12). The Socio Economic Status Affects Education Proving students in our Nation with a better education can help save our children from the clutches of poverty, crime, drugs, and hopelessness, and we help safeguard our Nation s prosperity for generations yet unborn. Elijah Cummings. He makes a very extremely good point. Kids who receive a better education rarely ever become poor, fall into crime or drugs. They learn exactly what they need to do to become successful. Which is the main reason why when you look at kids who are poor they aren t getting the smarted and neither are their parents. The socio economic status does impact education in many ways if not in all ways. A lot of people would say that it has nothing to do with money and it all depends on the person, but have you ever realized that people who live in Beverly Hills have a way better education than someone in Philadelphia. What makes them so different? One thing and that s money. Those parents are able to pay for their kids to have the best education out there. While some families in Philadelphia can barely afford to feed their kids. Of course though that s not the only factor when it comes to a kid who receives the better education. It also depends on how much the school makes in terms of money and the teachers, because even if you re not poor or if you live in a bad area then your kid could be receiving a bad education. Jewish Diaspora Essay Khachig Tölölyan terms the past few decades as a transnational moment...a time of fragmentation, heterogeneity, and unparalleled mass dispersion...a time of cultural and political regrouping, of renewed confidence for ethnonations existing across the boundaries of established nation states (1991:4). In this period, there has been a discursive shift to categorize people who have transgressed national boundaries as diaspora. This term, once primarily used to describe the Jewish diaspora, has increased in use since the late 1980s (Brubaker 2005: 1), as scholars have attempted to develop a discourse to discuss and theorize the migration of peoples within a transnational context. In age of globalization, the boundaries of the nation state has become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Its origins can be traced back to the Greek word diaspeirein, meaning a fruitful scattering of seeds (Tölölyan 1996: 10). Kim D. Butler writes, the word diaspora is defined, at its simplest, as the dispersal of a people from its original homeland (2001: 189). Yet this simple definition does not explain how diaspora is distinguishable from other forms of migration, for we can assume that all peoples migrated from a point of origin at some time. Scholar Floya Anthias takes a different approach in defining diaspora: Diaspora references a connection between groups across different nation states whose commonality derives from an original but maybe removed homeland; a new identity becomes constructed on a world scale which crosses national borders and boundaries...it may also denote a social condition, entailing a particular form of consciousness (1998:2). In this way, study of diaspora affords us a view of social processes beyond the national scale, one that possibly transcends boundaries of the nation state and instead focuses on the global and dynamic ties between migrants, their country of origin, and their current country of residence. It becomes a way of identifying oneself with a specific group and choosing to take on or reject a form of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By 1997, this sector encountered great financial and artistic difficulties. In this case, the Australia Government announced the establishment of the Major Performing Arts Inquiry (MPAI) in 1998 and the final report Securing the Future was released next year (Australian Major Performing Arts Group). The statistics demonstrates that the MPA sector is developing stably over the past 14 years. The MPA sector s income is mainly from three sources: box office, government funding and private sector. In 2012, the sector received about $420m income in the aggregate, increasing from $261m in 2001. The box office income amounted to $203m, which increased from $117m in 2001 and occupied nearly 50% of the total income (Australia Council, 2013). The growth of the box office is partly depends on the increase of audience number and partly on the 44% average increase of the sector ticket prices (Australia Council, 2012: 11). Around $140m were from both federal and state governments and the private sector contributed $65m. The 28 companies reported a combined operating surplus of $12.7m in 2012. Roland Barthes developed a range of semiotic tools to analyse the cultural meanings that are conveyed in advertising images, in a particular context. Using these semiotic tools, select and analyse four magazine adverts. This essay will discuss Roland Barthes ideas and his semiotic tools, and will also look at how Barthes uses these tools to analyse images and how they make us think. Roland Barthes was a French philosopher who wrote many books about the literary theory and semiotics. His writing has influenced and helped shape many postmodern theories. His most famous book Death of the author explains his theory on visual analysis. Barthes says that when we see an image, the author or creator of the image does not matter. Each individual person will find a meaning from that image. We all analyse images on our own. The meaning of an image lies with the audience. The author is not the authority on the meaning of the image. Although we are all quite similar in what we get from an image, different people will get different meanings. This is due to the experiences we have had throughout life. Barthes says no object has a natural meaning. (Barthes, 1967 p.25) Meanings are defined by culture, so for example, if in the UK someone does the thumbs up , we take this to mean that everything is okay, but if someone does it whilst standing at the side of the road, it means they want a lift, and in scuba diving it means you want to go up to the surface. It is the genetic duplication of an existing person (CGS). Identical twins are a naturally occurring cloning (Science Daily). Several countries worldwide have bans on human cloning (Kilner). The U.S. government has cut funding for cloning research (Kilner). Arguments in favor of human cloning point out the benefits of advancing technology, while those against question the effect it has on human dignity and even the clone itself. Although the clone has the DNA of the donor, the clone will have epigenetic effects. Epigenetic disturbances refer to the altered physical structures of the DNA, but not the DNA sequence itself (Epigenetics). Cloning technology has produced clones of several mammals, including sheep, mice, goats, and horses (AMA). Cloning humans is technically more difficult than cloning other mammals (Cloning Fact Sheet). The process is still extremely inefficient and rarely produces viable cells. Those usable cells are unlikely to survive until birth (AMA). So far, animal cloning research has caused death and deformities of the clone (Kilner). Dolly, a cloned sheep, aged rapidly and had to be euthanized at six years old (Glannon, p91). We can assume that human cloning will also have a dismal failure rate (AMA). It would be considered unethical to attempt to produce human clones due to the potential physical harm to the cloned child ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
