The Effect Of Child Interaction On Brain Development
The authors of this article, Martha Ann Bell, Annie Bernier, and Susan D. Calkins (2016) set out to
find whether or not early care giving experiences have an effect on brain development. The authors
hypothesized that good childcare, or nurturing, would have a positive effect on synapse formation in
the brain. The authors noted that there has not been a lot of research on the effects of mother infant
interactions on child development thus far. The only cases done at large are those of the severe
situations of child neglect and abuse. They were inspired by Greenough, Black, and Wallace s (1987)
influential propositions pertaining to the experience dependent nature of brain development (Bell et.
al, 2016). There is remarkable plasticity present ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sample size was not big enough, toward the end they had under 200 participants in the study. For
a study s results to have much more of a significant impact the sample size has to be quite large. This
was hardly a big study. As for the methods section, they only filmed the mother for two minutes
playing with her infant. Infants brain activity cannot be properly examined with just a two minute
interval of playing with their mother. This short time of interaction can hardly detect a significant
effect on an infant s brain activity. With that being said, this longitudinal study should have gone up
until the age of at least 2 or 3, this study does not really delve into the complete effect of infant mother
interaction if it doesn t show how it effects these children in the future. The authors also found small
sample size as a limitation, stating that the covariates were modest in magnitude due to small sample
size and therefore resulted in a lower statistical power. They also a agreed that the two minute
evaluation wasn t long enough and suggested a few hours as sufficient to detect some sort of positive
correlation. They also believed the controls implemented, previous power and key sociodemographics
held constant in the regression models , may have led to the small magnitude between infant EEG
power and maternal behaviors. These were the only limitations they discussed which they believe

How Does Shakespeare Use Satire In King Lear
Often in literature, the author will use satire to convey his meaning. Many people wonder if
Shakespeare made a satire when writing the play KING LEAR. What makes KING LEAR a satire or
what makes King Lear not a satire is the debate, and I am going to reveal the truth to this question
during my essay.
Some people consider King Lear to be a satire. The things that the real King James and the fictional
King Lear have in common are pride, craziness, and they both had three kids First, both kings had a
lot of pride and liked to be flattered. In the play King Lear wanted his daughter to tell him how much
they loved him. That showed a lot of pride. In The True Law of Free Monarchies James defended
monarchical absolutism which asserted that kings derived their authority from God and could not
therefore be held accountable for their actions. That shows a lot of pride. Second both Kings are crazy.
King James was never wrong. In Speech to Parliament one of the crazy things he says is he is also a ...

The Business Model Conceived By Ceo Michael O Leary
Introduction
Ryanair has long been the pioneer for low cost commercial air travel. The business model conceived
by CEO Michael O Leary affords the company much in the ways of agility and long term adaptability.
With the economic recovery of the European Union, new threats arise to challenge Ryanair such as an
emerging budget air carrier market, fluctuating fuel prices, and controversial customer relations.
Examined in this paper will be the internal cost accounting factors that affect the firm as well as an
analysis of Ryanair s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Environmental Threats (SWOT).
Through all of this many opportunities arise in the way of route expansion and capitalizing on existing
revenue. To understand the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many air carriers were denied use of the air space in another country simply due to nations holding a
strong opposition to commercial air competition. In 1986, Ryanair obtained permission to service the
airline s second route running from Dublin, Ireland to London Luton and compete directly with British
Airways. This permission was given by each host nation that had begun a progressive movement
towards the liberalization of air travel between European Union (EU) nation states.
From 1987 to 1990 Ryanair opened an additional 17 Routes and begins to emulate jet travel into the
route structure. However, during this period Ryan air continued to emulate the standard business
model due to continued fare regulation as well as a lack of innovation. Deregulation of air travel with
European Union members had not yet taken full effect, and thus led to continued high operating costs
and losses for Ryanair. Ryanair eliminated the frequent flyers program as well as no longer offering
business class which caused a continued increase in passenger traffic but still had the airline operating
at a loss. In 1987, Michael O Leary was hired by Tony Ryan as a tax and personal finance director. O
Leary was soon tasked with aiding in the restructuring of Ryanair in an effort to return the airline s
profitability. O Leary is a believer of a low fare

Causes Of Fragile X Syndrome
Fragile X Syndrome
Fragile X Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by a disruption in the FMR1 gene and is the most
recurrent inherited form of intellectual disability (Bagni, et al., 2012). It can cause a variety of mental
effects ( Fragile X syndrome , 2017). For these reasons, Fragile X Syndrome has the chance of being a
model of translational neuroscience (Jayaseelan, Tenenbaum, 2012).
General Facts About Fragile X Syndrome
Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) is a trinucleotide repeat expansion disorder where triple expansion is
preventing expansion of the FMR1 gene. (Bagni, et al., 2012; Fragile X syndrome , 2017). Regarding
this, Jasaseelan and Tenebaum state that Fragile X syndrome was the first disorder found to relate to

Taking a Look at Castle Clinton
National Monuments
National monuments were originally designed to protect things that were of historic or scientific
interest. Although now and days we tend to perceive national monuments as part of our countries
heritage; they allow us to display the respect and recognition that we have towards our country and the
individuals who sacrificed a great deal in order for us to live comfortably in this wonderful country.
The antiquities grant of 1906 gave the president the authority to designate national monuments and
since then the president and congress have created more than 100 national monuments. The various
agencies that manage national monuments are the National Park Service, Forest Service, Fish and
Wildlife Service, or BLM.
Castle Clinton formerly known as Castle Garden is a monument that symbolizes America as a country
that welcomes people from all over the world to come for better opportunities. Castle Clinton is
located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island and represents the growth of the city and also the
growth of the country. It was initially built to prevent the British from invading in 1812; Castle
Clinton never saw combat but it did provide a way for the military to have a strategic presence at the
northern edge of the New York Harbor. In 1824 the Castle was turned over to the city and was
completely renovated and changed to Castle Garden. Castle Clinton was one of America s great
entertainment centers for 32 years and hosted many notable events, such as

King Philip II Of Spain
I believe that King Philip II of Spain was a great King and the idea of The Spanish Armada was a
good idea that he had come up with. The Spanish Armada is about a boat that set sail in July 1588 by
the Spanish, and it was ordered by the catholic King Philip II of Spain to invade England and take
down the protestant Queen Elizabeth I. Queen Elizabeth I, was catholic but then became protestant.
The Church did not like her decision and they wanted her to become catholic again, so the Pope
encouraged King Philip II of Spain if he could try to make England catholic again. King Philip agreed
to do what the Pope had asked of him. For years, Philip was in need of a Queen and since Elizabeth
was not wed, he proposed to Elizabeth over and over again, but Elizabeth wanted to make all the
decisions and Elizabeth did not nor did she ever get married, the main reason was because she did not
want a man to tell her what to do, she did not want to marry someone who was in need of a Queen, but
for someone who truly loves her for her. I do not want a husband who honours me as a queen, if he
does not love me as a woman. So she declined all of Philip s marriage proposals. Philip s task for the
Spanish Armada was to overthrow protestant England lead by their protestant Queen, Elizabeth I.
Philip s plan for the Spanish Armada was to swing the fleet by the Netherlands, pick up his army
there, and transport them across the English Channel for a ground invasion.

Howard Zinn s Historian As Citizen
To Howard Zinn, history is no more than a looking glass for historians to see what needs to change in
the modern world. Zinn explains how historians should see the past and the future in his 1966 essay
Historian as Citizen . He begins by stating that historians cling too tightly to the patterns of the past
and are wrong in using them as a guide to the future. He says, This necessariness of the past tends to
infect our thinking about the future, weighing down our disposition to act (Zinn 44). Already, Zinn
makes a broad statement that counters the aged ways of historians everywhere. He is asking them to
let go of history. This is offputting to some but it is his strong voice that makes his philosophy so
grand.
Now that he has captivated his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zinn writes, Both history and art should instruct us. The crucial thing is to reveal the relationship
between evil and ourselves. This makes it enormously useful to show how Hitler could emerge out of
a boy playing in a field (Zinn 49). Zinn is not saying that history is not important. He is saying that it
should not be seen as irrevocable facts and instead viewed as art. We view art as up for interpretation,
insightful, and inspiring. Zinn is simply offering that we do the same with history. As previously
stated, the past gives us understanding of the roots of evil. Using our history in this way is a
tremendous tool, as Zinn demonstrates with the innocent boy to Hitler example. A problem with this
argument is that humans are not easily willing to admit to their mistakes. When the United States
defines to Soviet sphere as totalitarian and the West as free, it becomes difficult for Americans to see
totalitarian elements in our society, and liberal elements in Soviet society (Zinn 49). Nations,
especially the United States, get so wrapped up in patriotism that they refuse to see the flaws in their
systems and the perks of others. So, even if Zinn s thesis of self criticism was more popular, it is
unrealistic that anyone would actually accept

Customer Service At The United States

Customer service There s customer service In the United States that s good and there s customer
services that s bad. If the customer service is bad it doesn t necessarily mean it s the employees fault;
it s more than likely the customers fault. If they have someone screaming at them for hours on end it
wears them out and makes them snap. Customers only have to deal with someone being mean for the
time they are at the drive thru, where as the worker has to sit through hours of screaming and
complaining from other customers. One example of bad customers service would be this lady going
off on a employee and started cussing him out and it turned out it was a mistake and the lady turned ...

The book refers to what they call the three D s as the three secrets to raving fans; Decide what you
want, Discover what the customer wants, Deliver the idea plus one percent. When establishing Raving
Fans you will understand the needs of the customers, do what it takes to get more customers, and go a
little above and beyond to keep those important customers. In order for a business to succeed and gain
profit in there, they must obtain and keep customers. Without customers, a company is obviously not
going to succeed which results in being a failure. The first step is to convert first time visitors into a
returning customer. Secondly, a company has to find a way to keep these customers as loyal
customers. These steps are considered customer service. There are many new aspects of customer
service now that so many businesses have gone to the internet. To convert first time visitors into
returning customers is a very vital step to business. Visitors may return for a number of reasons but it
is up to there marketing skills to improve these chances and turn them into customers and over all
loyal customers. Outstanding customer service is key to customers. So to convert visitors into
customers a great place to begin would be to display ultimate customer service to someone who is not
yet a customer. A company has to always remember that the customer is actually their boss. All

Kevin Mitnick Research Paper

was a black hat which means violating computer security for personal gain or pure maliciousness. I

reason why.
Kevin David Mitnick was born on August 6, 1963. Mitnick grew up in Los Angeles in 1970s and

The Hobbit Movie Vs Movie Essay
The thought that is running through all our heads when we are in English class is, can t we just watch
the movie? The answer is no, we can t just watch the movie because the book has many major details
that the movie does not include. For our age, reading the book will have a major impact on our life
ahead, how we look at the world, and how we look at others. Some of us may be unhappy that we are
reading the book and not just watching the movie, but we need to realize, that not only with The
Hobbit but with all movies, they are vastly different from the books.

movie. For Bilbo in the book he had gotten hit in the head and was lost. He found Gollum s ring and
played his game of riddles then escaped. In the movie the goblins did not see Bilbo, so he was not
captured. He had fallen off of one of the walk ways and saw Gollum s ring and took it. He had his
game of riddles and then escaped.
Chapter six Out of the Frying Pan into the Fire and the last part of the first movie there were some
minor differences that will impact the rest of the book and the next movies. In the book, once Thorin
and company escaped the goblin tunnels, Bilbo told the others how he had escaped using this magical
ring. However, in the movie, he did not mention using any magical ring while escaping Gollum.
In the start of the second movie, (The Desolation of Smaug) compared to the seventh chapter of the
Hobbit Queer Lodgings, there were many very noticeable differences. In the start of the second movie,
Peter Jackson added a scene where Gandalf and Thorin were talking in a bar about the journey they
would venture together. That scene was not in the book. How the company met Beorn, (a shape

Auditor Independence On A Corporation s Financial...
Independence Introduction
Auditors provide comfort and assurance regarding a corporation s financial position and its financial
statements. The assurance field centers upon one common trait: trust. Trust is vital to an auditor
because investors must feel confident that the financial statements accurately reflect the company s
financial standing. Auditor independence is the backbone behind the perceived trust and comfort an
auditor provides while examining the financial statements. If an auditor impairs independence, how
can an investor ensure that he or she is relying upon accurate information? Since trust is an essential

Remembering The Lost Research Paper
Remembering the Lost
(Memorialize)
All over the world, there are people who achieve such great achievement, that when they die, there is a
monument of some type that might be built for them. This doesn t have to be just when a person of
great ability to do something dies, but people might also have memorials when there is an extreme
sacrifice that was made. This might be because of hard times that were going on, and the people who
make the monument have to determine the size they want it and what materials they are going to use,
etc. There are many different procedures a person might have to go through in order to determine what
they want to do to remember somebody or a certain time period that is now gone. Three factors a
group should consider in memorializing a person or event are why it would be important to remember,
where it will be located, and what will come of doing so. First of all, it is very important to consider
why the person or time period is an important thing to remember. Before building something like this,
people need to realize that there will be many people who see the monument and wonder what the
meaning of it is. When somebody decides to build one, they need to ask themselves what the
importance is. For example, if something really bad happened to a certain community so they decided

Reflection Analysis
In 2017, it seems engagement in controversial discourse is the ultimate taboo. In fear of offending
others, youth avoid discussions of religion, political opinions, and economic problems altogether. Or,
in contrast, discussions of these topics turn hostile and have to be extinguished in the classroom. The
result of this problem is that many young people do not know what they truly think about
controversial topics, and a generation of apathetic thinkers that never go beyond the mainstream media
for their opinions is produced. A society without individual core beliefs and values cannot function as
a democratic republic. I think it is important for our society to be able to discuss controversial topics
because I think that, like Christ, we should meet others where they are. Every day, I see people
dismiss an idea simply because it does not fall in line with their particular political party or because
the idea conflicts with the sentiments of the popular media. Instead, if we hear out the challenging
opinions of others, we can unravel ideologies of our own. I also see people who avoid the news or
political disputes at all costs because they do not want to feel the debaters contention. I too dodged the
nightly news and the following dinner table deliberations until I attended Volunteer Girls State in June
2017. At Volunteer Girls State, I learned how to be civically engaged in my community and how to be
an effective leader. Throughout the week, I participated as a Senator,

Green Crabs
There are many invasive species near Nature Bridge including; green crabs, sea walnuts, and
Himalayan Blackberries. Invasive species pose a threat on the economy and can harm the ecosystem
they invade. Invasive animals compete with native animals for resources and can decrease the
diversity by killing off the animals that already live there. They also cost large amounts of money to
the government.
Sea Walnuts, also called comb jellies, are native to the Western Atlantic ocean but now live all over
the world. Scientists don t know exactly how they got to Washington s coast but it was most likely by
boat. Although seeming harmless, Comb Jellies have harmed many species in the Black Sea, Baltic
Sea, and the Wadden Sea. Although they have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the ocean, large cargo ships fill tanks with water to keep its balance. As they load up with more
cargo, the water is emptied out and the animals that were in the water are now in a new location,
potentially harming their new environment. On land, noxious weeds can be spread by attaching to
people s clothing, cars, and basically anything. By brushing off your clothes before you go to a new
place, the chance of an invasive species potentially coming with you goes down tremendously. In
lakes, if people thoroughly clean boats before bringing it to a new lake, there won t be a chance that
algae and other invasive plants could be spread into lakes. If everyone was cautious about bringing
new plants and animals to new locations, the number of invasive species would be tremendously be
brought down.
Invasive species can negatively affect the environment. They can take out entire species by eating
their food sources or by preying on them. They also threaten fishing, hunting and plant industries in
the same way. Depending on the animals, they can also pose an actual physical threat on humans if
they are dangerous. There are many different ways for invasive species to spread but most are caused
by humans. All People should help prevent the spread of invasive

Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon a Movie Directed by Ang Lee
Beyond the boundary of East and West
Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon, one of the most successful and popular Chinese language movie
in the West directed by Ang Lee, was considered as an eastern film for the western audience and a
western film for the east. I didn t see any tiger or dragon in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; then I
get it they all crouched and hid. This joke provoked a wave of laughter during an award ceremony in
the United States, but my response was a satiric sneer. This is because the phrase crouching tiger,
hidden dragon in Chinese is an old idiom, which should rather be understood by its metaphorical
meaning instead of interpreting it literally, as the joke teller did. The same joke created different
reactions among audiences of different regions; similarly, the same film Crouching Tiger, Hidden
Dragon (Crouching Tiger) received diverse responses in the United States and China. Compare to its
huge popularity in the west, this movie did not strike such success in Chinese community especially
mainland China, where the story takes place. In many mainstream movie communities like Mtime and
Douban in China, Crouching Tiger does not rank even top 30 in overall film ratings. How does it
happen? I think the director and his filming style is a really important clue for this question. And with
the director s unique filming style, Crouching Tiger succeeds internationally and differs itself from
other martial arts genre and Hollywood action movie for

We Choose To Go To The Moon And Barrack Obama s Speech On...
When choosing the speeches We Choose to go to the Moon and Barrack Obama s speech on same sex
marriage, there was a running theme of exhilaration, excitement and pride within the two speeches.
Without even truly knowing of the two speeches one can analyze by the meaning of the speeches they
are speeches that are meant to insight the country with such invigoration over a topic that the emotion
could be felt through by the words spoken. However, both events come from entirely different time
periods within entirely different social and political topics, and both speeches even with coming off
with similar emotions are presented in alternative ways. Semantics is the study of word construction
and the ability to understand a word s meaning. Applying this study and its concepts to John F.
Kennedy s speech given at Rice University and Former President Barrack Obama s speech on same
sex marriage becomes a key to form an analysis on the two speeches. Kennedy s speech at Rice
University discusses the space exploration, specifically to the moon, the choice of words within the
speech make the speech animated using word understanding.
Within the speech, itself one of the many semantic features that can be found are the multiple noun
classes that Kennedy uses to create emphasis on what he is speaking about. In the sentence, The
exploration of space will go ahead, whether we join in it or not, and it is one of the great adventures of
all time... one can notice the way concrete and

Satire In Lysistrata
Satire, Sex and the Role of Women in Ancient Greece
Aristophanes comedy, Lysistrata, uses satire to show the issue of war between ancient Greek cities and
uses women and sex as a weapon to explain the futility of war. Aristophanes was a playwright,
landowner and political representative in Athens born around 450 BCE. He is considered by many to
be like Father of Ancient Comedy. All of Aristophanes comedies show commentary on the
contemporary society and the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. The comedy that I will
be analyzing today, Lysistrata, was produced in 411 BCE and involves a sex strike to end the war. In
this essay, I will show how Lysistrata reflects and satirizes the dominance of males in Athenian
society, show how the convention of cross dressing conveys the message of male dominance and
speculate how an Athenian society might have responded to men dressed as women outsmarting men.

we see Kinesias yelling at his wife Myrrhine You know you ve let our house, your things and mine,
become an utter mess... it doesn t bother you that the hens are pulling your woolens apart? (Episode
Lines 76, 78). Athenian women rarely had a social life and were only allowed out into the public
sphere of activity for ritual. Within Lysistrata, we see satire used by other women characters to explain
their cultural norms. When Kinesias tries to use the image of their sad baby to keep Myrrhine from
leaving without having sex, Myrrhine humorously cries out How momentous is motherhood! I ve got
no choice but to go down there. (Episode Lines 63

Research on SEC Enforcement Actions (1987 1997) by Beasley, Carcello and Hermanson concurred
with this assessment, indicating that 60% of the enforcement actions were related to a lack of
professional skepticism (AICPA 2000). and that people failure is the most common cause of audit
failures (Choo and Tan 1998). In response to the SEC s concern about the quality of financial audits,
the Public Oversight Board established a panel that recommends recommended to audit firms that they
provide guidance to their audit personnel about the concept of professional skepticism (POB 2000).
Thus, understanding the role of professional skepticism in workpaper review may provide important
insight into a recognized problem within the audit profession.
A critical step in conducting research involving professional skepticism is a means of identifying
individuals who can be characterized as skeptical. Recent research by Hurtt (2001) has resulted in a 30
item psychological scale that measures the degree of skepticism possessed by an individual. In
addition, a model linking an auditor s degree of skepticism and certain behaviors has been proposed
(Hurtt, Eining and Plumlee 2001). The model of skepticism, developed from surveys of professional

Little Things Raymond Carver Analysis
After you read Raymond Carver s short story Little Things you will experience a rainbow of emotions
including: anger, confusion, sadness, or sympathy. The characters are a husband, wife, and a picture of
their baby, however, none of them have names. Carver ambiguously takes the reader through the final
moments of the couple s relationship. Even though Carver does not clearly state what prompted the
man to leave it is apparent to the reader their relationship is quickly ending. A terse version of the
story, while the husband is in the bedroom packing his suitcase, the wife walks into the room and
commences to yell at him and she expresses she is happy he is leaving. Next, she notices a picture of
their baby lying on the bed, a picture she does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They both love the child but the couple still chose to end their relationship without considering how
their child would feel. While he is still packing, she notices the baby s picture lying on the bed then
she picks it up. After that, she went back into the living room. Eventually, when he caught up to her he
said, Bring it back (page 35, handout from class).
With that information, neither parent wants the other parent to keep the picture of the baby. Both
continue to be selfish and fail to consider or even notice the baby s feeling of discomfort. Furthermore,
the couple fights like Tom and Jerry over the picture of the baby. As though they were having a
presidential debate, they go back and forth trying to get a firm grip of their child. Tussling over the
photograph, they wrestle from the living room to the kitchen. Somewhere in their scuffle they knocked
down a flowerpot that hung behind the stove (page 35, handout from class). Luckily the baby was not
stricken by the flowerpot that fell when the mother was trying to keep the baby from its father. He
crowded her into the wall then, trying to break her grip. He held on to the baby and pushed with all his

My Company Essay
What is the name of your company?
The name of my company is Florely. Most people would name their business after their family name,
such as their last name. For an example, Johnson Johnson was named after Robert Wood Johnson I.
Naming your business after your surname could be nice, but it wouldn t be original. It also depends on
the product that the company is trying to sell. Naming the company Florely was all behind my product
or products. If you didn t get it from the name, the company is all about selling flowers. Florely is a
company that has thrived off of selling flowers since the twentieth of May, 2012. All of Florely s
employees are trained to understand the meaning behind each flower that we produce. Majority of

When the plant decides to set seed, our employees have to shear the plants to encourage the plant to
grow. Shearing means cutting the plant back by removing majority of the plant without interfering
with its structure. Pansies love fertilizer but giving them too much will make the plants weak. So, we
only renew their fertilizer once a month. During its growth period there might be weak flowers and we
go through a process of deheading the pansy. Cutting off the dead parts of the plant will increase
bloomage of flower. Pansies grow throughout the wet season because during the fall it rains
constantly. These type of plants love the full sun but partial shade. We couldn t figure out why our
plants weren t growing. So, as a company, Florely decided to hire experts to come and investigate.
This type of cold, wet, and partially dark area bring insects such as gastropods (slugs). Florely as a
whole has done thorough research and came up with a couple of ideas. These ideas consisted of
thinning out the soil or trying out a different brand of fertilizer. We tried both methods for over a
month, but nothing worked and it cost the company a lot of money.
3)What are at least three issues that can solve the company s problem or issue?
As previously stated, Florely s issue is that slugs are causing a decrease in the growth of our famous
pansies for the fall

Apple s Impact On The Computer Industry
Executive Summary Apple has been the leading force in innovation for the past couple of years, not
only does it dominate the mobile phone industry, it has also transformed the computer industry too.
With millions of people using their products today, Apple is one of the most successful companies in
the world. However, Apple did not come all this way from nothing. It suffered ups and downs just like
any other company, with this being said, the way Apple dealt with its problems was the difference
between it and any other company. Apple is strong today because of the way that it was built by its co
founder Steve jobs. With his leadership skills, the culture he put into place and the socialization
process of the new employees, incorporating them into the company s beliefs and values, were just
building blocks to the bigger picture. Apple is also successful due to the fact that it has good
communication within it that improved after a specific incident in the past by implementing what is
known as a Direct Responsible Individual (DRI). A mistake at Apple will almost never go unpunished
and because of this, Apple employees perform at 110%.
Apple s Elements of Success:
Strong company culture involvement.
Transformational Leadership
Communication between employees and upper management (DRI s)
Critical decision making

A Different Drummer Quotes
One day I realized that I wasn t getting anywhere by blaming other people for my circumstances. I
finally understood: Even if you feel someone has wronged you or owes you something, no one is
going to give you anything for free (Mary J. Blige). This quote seems to sum up how Tucker Caliban
felt before he vanished into thin air along with the other black residents of the state. The novel A
Different Drummer was written by William Melvin Kelly and takes place in a fictional southern state
which is referred to as the state. The main characters of this novel are Tucker Caliban, Bethrah

Dymphna are stunned because Bethrah doesn t fit the stereotype that they envision of a black maid
and she is also college educated. Camille hires Bethrah in order to show her off to others because she
would be considered unique to the other white residents. The friendship between Dymphna and
Bethrah is that of two young normal girls for the most part. Due to Bethrah being black Dymphna still
has somewhat of a prejudice mindset when addressing her. This is seen when Dymphna commented
that she found it odd to ask Bethrah for her opinion. It sounded really strange asking her opinion when
she was colored (Kelly 101). It s interesting to make mention of the fact that Dymphna says that she
can be friends with Bethrah because there wasn t a possibility of social complications. The reason this
is important is because Dymphna makes it seem as though she is only willing to be Bethrah s friend
under the circumstances in which her reputation won t be damaged. While Dymphna does seem to
have a sort of biased towards Bethrah, She goes to her for advice whenever she needs it. Dymphna
also plays an important part in trying to get Tucker to notice Bethrah. Dymphna is also there when

  • 2. The Effect Of Child Interaction On Brain Development The authors of this article, Martha Ann Bell, Annie Bernier, and Susan D. Calkins (2016) set out to find whether or not early care giving experiences have an effect on brain development. The authors hypothesized that good childcare, or nurturing, would have a positive effect on synapse formation in the brain. The authors noted that there has not been a lot of research on the effects of mother infant interactions on child development thus far. The only cases done at large are those of the severe situations of child neglect and abuse. They were inspired by Greenough, Black, and Wallace s (1987) influential propositions pertaining to the experience dependent nature of brain development (Bell et. al, 2016). There is remarkable plasticity present ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sample size was not big enough, toward the end they had under 200 participants in the study. For a study s results to have much more of a significant impact the sample size has to be quite large. This was hardly a big study. As for the methods section, they only filmed the mother for two minutes playing with her infant. Infants brain activity cannot be properly examined with just a two minute interval of playing with their mother. This short time of interaction can hardly detect a significant effect on an infant s brain activity. With that being said, this longitudinal study should have gone up until the age of at least 2 or 3, this study does not really delve into the complete effect of infant mother interaction if it doesn t show how it effects these children in the future. The authors also found small sample size as a limitation, stating that the covariates were modest in magnitude due to small sample size and therefore resulted in a lower statistical power. They also a agreed that the two minute evaluation wasn t long enough and suggested a few hours as sufficient to detect some sort of positive correlation. They also believed the controls implemented, previous power and key sociodemographics held constant in the regression models , may have led to the small magnitude between infant EEG power and maternal behaviors. These were the only limitations they discussed which they believe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Teenage Wasteland Research Paper Teenage Wasteland Everyone has problems some people have more complex problems that they don t know how to handle so they think their only option is to put it into somebody else s hands. Do not help him with his homework, I think you should start overseeing his homework again. But Donny s tutor says... at first to help Donny bring his grades up Daisy would help him with his homework and would sit there while he did it until he was finished. But as Daisy was told not to help anymore Donny s grades had gone from better than before to worse. When Mrs. Evans had bent the rules and called her about his grades Daisy had explained to Mrs. Evans that she couldn t help anymore and for her to call Cal. Stop calling ahead to parties, They let Donny stay out later, they didn t call ahead to see if the parties were supervised . • 4. How Does Shakespeare Use Satire In King Lear Often in literature, the author will use satire to convey his meaning. Many people wonder if Shakespeare made a satire when writing the play KING LEAR. What makes KING LEAR a satire or what makes King Lear not a satire is the debate, and I am going to reveal the truth to this question during my essay. Some people consider King Lear to be a satire. The things that the real King James and the fictional King Lear have in common are pride, craziness, and they both had three kids First, both kings had a lot of pride and liked to be flattered. In the play King Lear wanted his daughter to tell him how much they loved him. That showed a lot of pride. In The True Law of Free Monarchies James defended monarchical absolutism which asserted that kings derived their authority from God and could not therefore be held accountable for their actions. That shows a lot of pride. Second both Kings are crazy. King James was never wrong. In Speech to Parliament one of the crazy things he says is he is also a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. The Business Model Conceived By Ceo Michael O Leary Introduction Ryanair has long been the pioneer for low cost commercial air travel. The business model conceived by CEO Michael O Leary affords the company much in the ways of agility and long term adaptability. With the economic recovery of the European Union, new threats arise to challenge Ryanair such as an emerging budget air carrier market, fluctuating fuel prices, and controversial customer relations. Examined in this paper will be the internal cost accounting factors that affect the firm as well as an analysis of Ryanair s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Environmental Threats (SWOT). Through all of this many opportunities arise in the way of route expansion and capitalizing on existing revenue. To understand the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many air carriers were denied use of the air space in another country simply due to nations holding a strong opposition to commercial air competition. In 1986, Ryanair obtained permission to service the airline s second route running from Dublin, Ireland to London Luton and compete directly with British Airways. This permission was given by each host nation that had begun a progressive movement towards the liberalization of air travel between European Union (EU) nation states. From 1987 to 1990 Ryanair opened an additional 17 Routes and begins to emulate jet travel into the route structure. However, during this period Ryan air continued to emulate the standard business model due to continued fare regulation as well as a lack of innovation. Deregulation of air travel with European Union members had not yet taken full effect, and thus led to continued high operating costs and losses for Ryanair. Ryanair eliminated the frequent flyers program as well as no longer offering business class which caused a continued increase in passenger traffic but still had the airline operating at a loss. In 1987, Michael O Leary was hired by Tony Ryan as a tax and personal finance director. O Leary was soon tasked with aiding in the restructuring of Ryanair in an effort to return the airline s profitability. O Leary is a believer of a low fare ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Causes Of Fragile X Syndrome Fragile X Syndrome Fragile X Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by a disruption in the FMR1 gene and is the most recurrent inherited form of intellectual disability (Bagni, et al., 2012). It can cause a variety of mental effects ( Fragile X syndrome , 2017). For these reasons, Fragile X Syndrome has the chance of being a model of translational neuroscience (Jayaseelan, Tenenbaum, 2012). General Facts About Fragile X Syndrome Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) is a trinucleotide repeat expansion disorder where triple expansion is preventing expansion of the FMR1 gene. • 7. Taking a Look at Castle Clinton National Monuments National monuments were originally designed to protect things that were of historic or scientific interest. Although now and days we tend to perceive national monuments as part of our countries heritage; they allow us to display the respect and recognition that we have towards our country and the individuals who sacrificed a great deal in order for us to live comfortably in this wonderful country. The antiquities grant of 1906 gave the president the authority to designate national monuments and since then the president and congress have created more than 100 national monuments. The various agencies that manage national monuments are the National Park Service, Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, or BLM. Castle Clinton formerly known as Castle Garden is a monument that symbolizes America as a country that welcomes people from all over the world to come for better opportunities. Castle Clinton is located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island and represents the growth of the city and also the growth of the country. It was initially built to prevent the British from invading in 1812; Castle Clinton never saw combat but it did provide a way for the military to have a strategic presence at the northern edge of the New York Harbor. In 1824 the Castle was turned over to the city and was completely renovated and changed to Castle Garden. • 8. King Philip II Of Spain I believe that King Philip II of Spain was a great King and the idea of The Spanish Armada was a good idea that he had come up with. The Spanish Armada is about a boat that set sail in July 1588 by the Spanish, and it was ordered by the catholic King Philip II of Spain to invade England and take down the protestant Queen Elizabeth I. Queen Elizabeth I, was catholic but then became protestant. The Church did not like her decision and they wanted her to become catholic again, so the Pope encouraged King Philip II of Spain if he could try to make England catholic again. King Philip agreed to do what the Pope had asked of him. For years, Philip was in need of a Queen and since Elizabeth was not wed, he proposed to Elizabeth over and over again, but Elizabeth wanted to make all the decisions and Elizabeth did not nor did she ever get married, the main reason was because she did not want a man to tell her what to do, she did not want to marry someone who was in need of a Queen, but for someone who truly loves her for her. I do not want a husband who honours me as a queen, if he does not love me as a woman. So she declined all of Philip s marriage proposals. Philip s task for the Spanish Armada was to overthrow protestant England lead by their protestant Queen, Elizabeth I. Philip s plan for the Spanish Armada was to swing the fleet by the Netherlands, pick up his army there, and transport them across the English Channel for a ground invasion. ... • 9. Howard Zinn s Historian As Citizen To Howard Zinn, history is no more than a looking glass for historians to see what needs to change in the modern world. Zinn explains how historians should see the past and the future in his 1966 essay Historian as Citizen . He begins by stating that historians cling too tightly to the patterns of the past and are wrong in using them as a guide to the future. He says, This necessariness of the past tends to infect our thinking about the future, weighing down our disposition to act (Zinn 44). Already, Zinn makes a broad statement that counters the aged ways of historians everywhere. He is asking them to let go of history. This is offputting to some but it is his strong voice that makes his philosophy so grand. Now that he has captivated his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Zinn writes, Both history and art should instruct us. The crucial thing is to reveal the relationship between evil and ourselves. This makes it enormously useful to show how Hitler could emerge out of a boy playing in a field (Zinn 49). Zinn is not saying that history is not important. He is saying that it should not be seen as irrevocable facts and instead viewed as art. We view art as up for interpretation, insightful, and inspiring. Zinn is simply offering that we do the same with history. As previously stated, the past gives us understanding of the roots of evil. Using our history in this way is a tremendous tool, as Zinn demonstrates with the innocent boy to Hitler example. A problem with this argument is that humans are not easily willing to admit to their mistakes. When the United States defines to Soviet sphere as totalitarian and the West as free, it becomes difficult for Americans to see totalitarian elements in our society, and liberal elements in Soviet society (Zinn 49). Nations, especially the United States, get so wrapped up in patriotism that they refuse to see the flaws in their systems and the perks of others. So, even if Zinn s thesis of self criticism was more popular, it is unrealistic that anyone would actually accept ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Customer Service At The United States Sidney Simmons Mrs. Wiest English 132 January 1, 2015 Customer service There s customer service In the United States that s good and there s customer services that s bad. If the customer service is bad it doesn t necessarily mean it s the employees fault; it s more than likely the customers fault. If they have someone screaming at them for hours on end it wears them out and makes them snap. Customers only have to deal with someone being mean for the time they are at the drive thru, where as the worker has to sit through hours of screaming and complaining from other customers. One example of bad customers service would be this lady going off on a employee and started cussing him out and it turned out it was a mistake and the lady turned ... In order for a business to succeed and gain profit in there, they must obtain and keep customers. Without customers, a company is obviously not going to succeed which results in being a failure. The first step is to convert first time visitors into a returning customer. Secondly, a company has to find a way to keep these customers as loyal customers. These steps are considered customer service. There are many new aspects of customer service now that so many businesses have gone to the internet. To convert first time visitors into returning customers is a very vital step to business. Visitors may return for a number of reasons but it is up to there marketing skills to improve these chances and turn them into customers and over all loyal customers. This doesn t have to be just when a person of great ability to do something dies, but people might also have memorials when there is an extreme sacrifice that was made. This might be because of hard times that were going on, and the people who make the monument have to determine the size they want it and what materials they are going to use, etc. There are many different procedures a person might have to go through in order to determine what they want to do to remember somebody or a certain time period that is now gone. Three factors a group should consider in memorializing a person or event are why it would be important to remember, where it will be located, and what will come of doing so. First of all, it is very important to consider why the person or time period is an important thing to remember. Before building something like this, people need to realize that there will be many people who see the monument and wonder what the meaning of it is. In fear of offending others, youth avoid discussions of religion, political opinions, and economic problems altogether. Or, in contrast, discussions of these topics turn hostile and have to be extinguished in the classroom. The result of this problem is that many young people do not know what they truly think about controversial topics, and a generation of apathetic thinkers that never go beyond the mainstream media for their opinions is produced. A society without individual core beliefs and values cannot function as a democratic republic. I think it is important for our society to be able to discuss controversial topics because I think that, like Christ, we should meet others where they are. Every day, I see people dismiss an idea simply because it does not fall in line with their particular political party or because the idea conflicts with the sentiments of the popular media. Instead, if we hear out the challenging opinions of others, we can unravel ideologies of our own. I also see people who avoid the news or political disputes at all costs because they do not want to feel the debaters contention. Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon a Movie Directed by Ang Lee Beyond the boundary of East and West Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon, one of the most successful and popular Chinese language movie in the West directed by Ang Lee, was considered as an eastern film for the western audience and a western film for the east. I didn t see any tiger or dragon in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; then I get it they all crouched and hid. This joke provoked a wave of laughter during an award ceremony in the United States, but my response was a satiric sneer. This is because the phrase crouching tiger, hidden dragon in Chinese is an old idiom, which should rather be understood by its metaphorical meaning instead of interpreting it literally, as the joke teller did. The same joke created different reactions among audiences of different regions; similarly, the same film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Crouching Tiger) received diverse responses in the United States and China. Compare to its huge popularity in the west, this movie did not strike such success in Chinese community especially mainland China, where the story takes place. The null and alternative hypothesis for the one tailed directional test might more appropriately be written as H0:µ0 ≤ µ1, or µendurance runners pulse≤ µ Other Athletes Pulse Ha:µ0 gt; µ1, or µ endurance runners pulse gt; µ Other Athletes Pulse In other words, if the alternative hypothesis for a one tailed test is µ0 gt; µ1, then the null hypothesis is µ0 ≤ µ1, and to reject H0, the endurance runners have to have lower pulses than those of other athletes. d. • 32. A Different Drummer Quotes One day I realized that I wasn t getting anywhere by blaming other people for my circumstances. I finally understood: Even if you feel someone has wronged you or owes you something, no one is going to give you anything for free (Mary J. Blige). This quote seems to sum up how Tucker Caliban felt before he vanished into thin air along with the other black residents of the state. The novel A Different Drummer was written by William Melvin Kelly and takes place in a fictional southern state which is referred to as the state. The main characters of this novel are Tucker Caliban, Bethrah Caliban, Dymphna Willson, Dewey Willson, David Willson, Camille Willson, Mister Leland, and Harry Leland. In the state, all of the black residents have decided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dymphna first met Bethrah when the Willson family decided to hire a new maid. Camille and Dymphna are stunned because Bethrah doesn t fit the stereotype that they envision of a black maid and she is also college educated. Camille hires Bethrah in order to show her off to others because she would be considered unique to the other white residents. The friendship between Dymphna and Bethrah is that of two young normal girls for the most part. Due to Bethrah being black Dymphna still has somewhat of a prejudice mindset when addressing her. This is seen when Dymphna commented that she found it odd to ask Bethrah for her opinion. It sounded really strange asking her opinion when she was colored (Kelly 101). It s interesting to make mention of the fact that Dymphna says that she can be friends with Bethrah because there wasn t a possibility of social complications. The reason this is important is because Dymphna makes it seem as though she is only willing to be Bethrah s friend under the circumstances in which her reputation won t be damaged. While Dymphna does seem to have a sort of biased towards Bethrah, She goes to her for advice whenever she needs it. Dymphna also plays an important part in trying to get Tucker to notice Bethrah. Dymphna is also there when Bethrah gripes about Tucker as shown when Bethrah tells her about her night out with him and her other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
