Essay On Hepatitis C Mono
Our study included hundred treatment naГЇve Egyptian patients with chronic hepatitis C mono
infection (67%, males and 33% females); their mean age (В± SD) was 40.29 years (В± 10.98).
Significant fibrosis (≥ F2) was present in 62 patients, advanced fibrosis (≥ F3) was present in
24 patients and cirrhosis (F4) was present in 11 patients, other general characteristics of the study
population are summarized in table 1. The mean values В± SD of Hepa Index parameters were:
Platelets count (201.58 В± 59.02 109/L), О±2 MG (2.57 В± 0.54 g/L), total bilirubin (13.89 В±
3.60 umol/L), GGT (61.47 IU/L В± 54.10) and cholesterol (4.60 mmol/L В± 1.31). Hepa Index was
positively correlating with stages of hepatic fibrosis (F0 F4) r = 0.65, P value 0.001. .... Show more

Although their use is limited by being non specific for the liver [19] and cost associated with
patented tests [5]; they are well validated [20], they have good reproducibility and can be done in
outpatient clinics [21].
In this study, we did the first validation for Hepa Index (a relatively new biomarkers panel for
assessment of hepatic fibrosis) against liver biopsy in chronic hepatitis C. Hepa Index showed good
sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, for predicting significant hepatic
fibrosis, severe hepatic fibrosis, and cirrhosis in chronic hepatitis C patients. Hepa Index
performance is almost equal to the performance of different patented and non patented
noninvasive panels for assessment of hepatic fibrosis (FibroTest, FibroMeters, HepaScore, and
APRI) which is reported to have an AUROCs ranging from 0.72 to 0.78 for detection of
significant fibrosis and 0.77 to 0.86 for detection of cirrhosis [20]. Hepa Index as a serum
biomarker panel carry the advantages of patented and expensive serum fibrosis biomarkers in
addition to being free of charge and accurate in classifying significant hepatic fibrosis, advanced
hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis. One more advantage of Hepa Index over currently available tests
like APRI, FIB 4, Forns index, FibroTest and FibroMeter is absence of transaminases (ALT and
AST) in its formula which may lead to false positive results in acute

Dark Matter Amanda Lucas Comparison
The bravest of individuals is the one who obeys his or her conscience . The strongest of minds
follow their own interpretation of reality, not what others would force upon them. These people
would go against reality even if it seems foolish or impossible to achieve an outcome they desire.
In the novel Dark Matterby Blake Crouch, the characters Jason Dessen and Amanda Lucas both
illustrate that their strength and courageoriginate from being able to trust themselves and defy
others. Jason dessen is a professor of physics who was brought into a different reality by a parallel
universeversion of himself, Jason tries to defy the odds by returning to his home world. Amanda
Lucas is the psychologist for the velocity Laboratory, she goes against her co workers to free
Jason dessen because she is frightened that her co workers killed Jason s friends to keep their
operation hidden. The strongest minds are the ones who interpret their own ideal reality, this is
demonstrated by Jason Dessen striving to return home after staring down his possible oblivion, and
Amanda freeing Jason from Velocity Laboratories even if it means defying the operation. Jason...

Jason Dessen has seen death in many forms which frightens him and hinges his beliefs on getting
home, but by having hope of his return Jason is both brave and successful. Amanda had the firm
belief her co workers were undergoing nefarious tasks, thus she used her moral belief to gain the
audacity to defy them. The novel Dark Matter teaches readers the importance of standing up for
one s desires even if it seems impossible. Whether it is a desire to protect those who are in need or
a more personal desire both Jason and Amanda illustrate with enough courage nothing is

Essay on Electronic File Sharing
Electronic File Sharing
Often times new technology enables completely new activities, discoveries, and ways of living,
once not possible without that particular technology. An example of this would be the microscope
and telescope, which now allow us to see things not possible before. Other times, new technology
allows us to do things which we did before, but in a different way.1 A good example of this is
electronic file sharing over the Internet. Unauthorized file sharing was possible before the Internet,
but on a much smaller scale. One person might have physically borrowed a music cd from another
person and made a copy. With the Internet, it became possible for a single person to share (more
like distribute without ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Napster) that were used for most illegal electronic file sharing were not a pure form of peer to
peer architecture because a client (peer) in search of a particular file (song), would first connect
to a centralized site, and then be directed to a peer who would have that particular file. So, in a
system like Napster, Napster did not provide songs to clients, it only provided a client with a place
where it could acquire the songs.
Now lets take a look at the legal issues involved with file sharing. In the recording industry, there
are two copyright laws involved. The first one is the copyright of the musical composition,
which deals with the lyrics and musical notes. This is usually owned by the songwriter or music
publisher.4 The second law is the copyright in sound recording, which deals with the recording of
the performer singing or playing a given song. This is usually owned by the record company.5
The law that is violated with electronic file sharing is the second one. Titles 17 and 18 of the U.S.
Code protect copyright owners from the unauthorized reproduction, adaptation or distribution of
sound recordings, as well as certain digital performances to the public.6 So, from the legal clauses,
it can be interpreted that users of popular online sites such as Napster are engaging in unauthorized
distribution of sound recordings. The online infringement of copyrighted music can be punished
with several years in prison. 7

Cancer Cell Comparison
The cell cycle of a normal cell and a cancer cell have many similarities and differences. The main
similarity is that both sets of cells undergo the four phases of the cell cycle: G1, S, G2, M. There
are three checkpoints within the cell cycle that tell the cell to move to the next phase or die, but
cancercancer cells do not obey the checkpoints. During the first phase, G1 phase, normal cells
double in size and the number of organelles double as well. The G1 checkpoint ensures that
proper doubling has occurred and allows cells to move forward to S phase. However, cancer cells
that are too small or have too few organelles will not die. During the second phase, S phase, DNA
replication (an identical copy of all the cell s DNA is made)... Show more content on

Cancers that are associated with environmental risk factors have to do with where they spend
most of their time (usually where they live). Some examples of cancers that can be passed on
genetically are breast and ovarian cancer. The mutated genes of a parent can be inherited by
their children causing them to get the same cancer. BRCA1 and BRCA2 are tumor suppressor
genes that can be mutated to cause breast and ovarian cancers. Some examples of cancers caused
by environmental factors are lung and skin cancer. People who smoke tend to get lung cancer
because when they inhale cigarette smoke and there are chemicals in it that cause cancer.
Radiation, specifically from the sun, can cause skin cancer because it damages the DNA in the
cells, which causes mutations of the cells. According to a surgeon named Sanjiv Haribhakti, only
5 10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90 95% have
their roots in the environment and lifestyle. In other words people are more likely to get cancer due
to environmental factors and not by inheriting

Analysis Of No Pda !
Emotions No PDA! I will continue to hear through out my day when I went from class to class at
the midst of passing period during high school and middle school. I never knew what teachers
meant by saying that until they would start to get on my case about showing some affection to the
girlfriend I had at that time. That was when I learned that PDA abbreviates Public Display of
Affection and one of the first times I learned an American display rule. At the same time, I believe
some manners may contribute to the display rules. Then, the topic of it is unmanly for a man to
show their emotions. The other discussion about holding in anger opposed to expressing it. I
believe there are limitations to how menshow their emotions, but I do believe that men should be
able to show their emotions. Also, anyone should be able express his or her emotions instead of
holding it and letting it all come out all at once. First, Some of the American display rules are
manners. As an example, when I was younger I was taught it is unacceptable to belch and not say
excuse me at the table with even if the situation is accidental. My motherwould poke arm or pinch
my arm as punishment until I would say those majestic words to make my arm stop hurting. I
completely understand why burping at without saying excuse me is unacceptable now. No one
wants to hear anyone else let out gas in any way. It may have a disgusting same that follows it, and
is so unexpected that the belch may offend someone.

The Rolling Stones And The Stones
The Rolling Stones Stones, a simple concretion of earthy or mineral matter, a rock, a building
block, it may be precious, or it may be garbage. The Rolling Stones are very similar to a pack a
stones, a pack of random men to play music. They first started as a small measly band that soon
grew into an international sensation. The Stones created some of the most widely known tunes and
they also created one of the most iconic styles of music, rock and roll. The Rolling Stoneswere
defined by the very famous founding trio, The Stones themselves, their extraordinary style and their
gruesome political troubles. Even with some hardships and struggles their success was quickly
awarded with countless music rewards.
The Creation of the Rolling Stones The group named The Rolling Stones took a very long time
to form and it all started with the founding trio. The Rolling Stones were a rock band formed by
the famous trio of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Brian Jones. Together they recruited
musicians to their rock and roll group. The Rolling Stones Biography states that, The Rolling
Stones origins date back to the boyhood friendship of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, formed in
1957. In October 1960 Richards and Jagger ran into each other. They both noticed their enthusiasm
or the rock and roll and blues music. After the encounter Richards soon joined Little Boy Blues and
the Clues Boys, Jagger s blues group. Furthermore, while making rounds of London blues clubs,

material is often used on both exterior and interior walls. This provides a touchy finish and
creates a richer appearance than a standard flat painted wall. Brick and wood are quite common
Veneer materials which are easily found in Las Vegas. Amazingly, different types of hardwood
can be easily found in Veneer. However, they are flexible and very much affordable in prices.
Plaster and stone are popular among veneer finishes. By using these materials a space can be
easily changed. Appealing look and durability of Veneer make it essential for commercial spaces as

A Research Study On The Expression, Publish Or Perish, Is...
The expression publish or perish is the norm within all academic disciplines and researchers will
not get tenured if they do not publish academic work (Miller, Taylor Bedeian, 2011; Simmons,
Nelson Simonsohn, 2012; De Rond Miller, 2005). The same is true for professors applying for
grants or graduate students seeking scholarships, where having more publications will set someone
apart from other candidates. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as good researchers are expected
to produce good research, however standards for most scholarly journals to publish an academic
article mostly rely on significance (Sterling, 2012). Studies not finding significant results do not get
published and are often considered failures (Cumming, 2008;... Show more content on

The following will discuss the replication crisis from an undergraduate student s perspective and
how it affected my undergraduate journey specifically. Introductory statistics are part of the
problem Initial statistical courses are exciting, as students are taught the foundations of
conducting research by learning about inferential statistics. However, important topics such as
power, confidence intervals and effect sizes are briefly discussed and quickly forgotten due to
the large amount of new information taught in those courses. Over time, students simply learn to
rely on p values, where p .05, the null hypothesis is rejected and p .05, the null hypothesis is
retained. Statistics are overwhelming and a lot of practice and reading are required to fully
understand how it really works. I am a fourth year student and consider myself as having a
higher than average knowledge of statistics compared to most fellow students in my year, but I
have a lot to learn and am aware that I still do not understand most of it. That is one reason why
NHST is surviving, as it is convenient and a strong statistical knowledge is not needed to apply it
in research. The point is that appropriate ways to interpret statistics and ethical research practices
should be taught as early as possible to avoid the use of common unethical research practices. Next,
students learn

The General Search Engine Architecture
Different search engines such as Google are complex, sophisticated, distributed systems. Below we
reproduce the general search engine architecture discussed in Searching the Web , Arvind Arasu,
Junghoo Cho, Hector Garcia Molina, Andreas Paepcke, Sriram Raghavan (Stanford University).
ACM Transactions on Internet Technology (TOIT), Volume 1, Issue 1 (August 2001).
The main components include, parallel crawlers/ and crawler control (when and where to crawl),
page repository, indexer, analysis, collection of data structures (index tables, structure, utility), and
query engine and ranking module. Such a general architecture would take a significant amount of
time to code. In this course, we implement stripped down versions of the main ... Show more

Besides that, there are also other difficulties as well. There might be too many relevant pages for
a simple query. Also, it is difficult to compare two search engines, because of their continuous
improvement. There are three ranking algorithm that are proposed by Yuwono and Lee. They are
Boolean spread, vector spread, and most cited. The first two are the normal ranking algorithms of
the Boolean and vector model extended to include pages pointed to by a page in the answer or
pages that point to a page in the answer. The third, most cited, is based only on the terms included
in pages having a link to pages in the answer.(Yuwono, 1996)
There are also other approaches as well. WebQuery allows visual browsing of the
Web pages. Their ranking algorithm is based on how connected each Web page is. The
Page Rank algorithm uses the equation defined below here a is the page that we want to rank
PR(a) is page rank of page a; q is the probability of the page being accessed; p1 to pn is the pages
that point to page a. C(a) is the number of out going link in page a. Google search engine uses the
Page Rank algorithm as well. It simulates users using the search engine and applies the equation
to rank the Web pages. It uses a citation graph. The graph contains 518 million links. It allows
rapid calculation. 26 million Web pages can be computed in a few hours. The page has high
ranking when many other pages point to it or if some other high ranking pages point to it. (Brin,
1998)

The Battle Of Algiers ( A Reenactment Of Algeria s Fight...
An imperative aspect of art is that it is open to interpretation and analysis. If the piece of art is
significant, it will be thought or emotion provoking and uncensored. It is not the role of art take
cautious steps in an attempt to leave its audience unoffended, but rather to embrace diversity of
thought and creativity to portray untainted ideas. Filmmaking being a form of art follows the same
guidelines and thus shapes society through its objectionable and often jarring subject matter. The
Battle of Algiers (a reenactment of Algeria s fight for independence from France from 1954 to
1957) was a politically motivated piece that was banned in France upon its debut. The lifelike

Without the brutal violence in American History X we would not be able to take an emotional
journey of discovering a lost man as he regains his purpose after killing two people under the
influence of a neo Nazi gang. The hatred towards everyone as experienced in Taxi Driver is
essential to understanding the raging emotions flowing through Travis s mind as he goes on a
killing spree. On the opposite end of the spectrum, without the provocative homosexual romance
in Brokeback Mountain, the passionate strain of keeping a forbidden love covert would not be
felt. Since homosexuality had not been greatly explored in film this way before, Brokeback
Mountain generated a confusion of empathy for a love that society would not allow, as well as
for those that were betrayed by it. The audience is at war for and against both sides (the lovers
and those that do not want the lovers together) in some aspect throughout the movie and the
controversy carried into real life. According to the Los Angeles Times, people that identified with
the cowboy role portrayed by the two main characters were deeply offended by the homosexual
association, which they believed tarnished their cowboy image. The article also says the film s
amorous relationship angered homophobic people across the nation, but it also, contrarily, made
others more empathetic towards members of the gay community s feelings and desires (Brady).

The Importance Of Education In America
The education system in the United States is one that has changed throughout time, and one that
has drastically changed in the relatively recent years of the country. While the US was once a
country that educated its students based on obtaining knowledge meant to help the individual
succeed in daily life, the system is believed to have changed due to many of its students wishing to
become accustomed to life in factories. This factory and manufacturing lifestyle was one with long,
strenuous work days, with little time for breaks or communication between its workers. With this
changecame a change in the education, leading to long, strenuous work hours, and with an emphasis
on standardized tests. This has thus changed the system from a curriculum that was once arts,
music, and literature focused into one that focuses solely on mathematics and sciences. Through
Scott L. Newstok s article How to Think Like Shakespeare, Newstok analyzes how this change has
led to the elimination of the contentment and even the imagination aspects of education. Without
embracing the possible variations in education of students, this leads to the potential decline in
advancements of the United States as a society. Throughout his text, Newstok proposes multiple
ideas regarding how the change in the education system has led to the decline of the overall
function of society. Newstok notes that thoughtshould not be restrained exclusively to what is
learned during classes, but instead should

Supply Chain Strategy Of A Convenience Store Chain
An attempt to be responsive from a convenience store chain should include the supply chain
strategy that fit with competitive factors such as high quality, quick response, flexibility, service
and innovation. First option can be expanding new stores in areas with existing clusters of stores.
This way, the store chain can gain quicker awareness among customers and receive high density
market presence. Just like 7 Eleven, after the growth of its stores, the company focuses on
increasing the number of original items that were available only at their stores. Company like Zara

Last but not least, the delivery system worked on trust in order to reduce the delivery time spent
at each store. Therefore, if there is a mistake in delivery, the store personnel cannot inform the

ensure efficiency, 7 Eleven Japan have implemented a market dominate strategy to saturate an
area with stores. Based on the strategy, all manufacturing facilities are centralized to improve
brand awareness, and also lower the transportation cost by aggregating them and achieve
efficiency. Inventory management:7 Eleven Japan offered its stores a choice from a set of 5000

local customer demand, and the food items were classified in four categories: (1) Chilled temp;

So far there are many international human resources management models known, the most used
are: the Perlmutter Model, The Adler Ghadar Model, the Taylor Model and the Geert Hofstede
Model.
a.The Perlmutter model
In this model, Perlmutter gives 4 modalities on which multinational companies can manage their
human resources activities on an international level. Those modalities are: ethnocentrism,
polycentrism, geo centrism, and region centrism. This Model shows how every multinational
company can develop and implement human resources strategies and policies at a level of daughter
companies in a host country. Besides the Perlmutter Model is a comparative management model
since it helps to identify the differences and resemblance, advantages and disadvantages between
the four (4) approaches a company can use to manage its human resources activities at an
international level.
b.The Adler Ghadar Model
For Adler N.J and Ghadar F., when multinational companies develop their activities at an
international level they have to concentrate their effort on many aspects of organizational
development. Therefore the authors have identified four stages of development of an organization.
The first stage happens at a national level, the second stage is at international level while the third
and fourth stages are at a Multinational level and global level respectively. The table below

The Pros And Cons Of The Social Learning Theory
The social learning theory in criminology states that people learn by observing others, then
attempt to replicate those behaviors they observed. These behaviors are learned through three
different ways according to the social learning theory. The first says that people learn by
observing others behaviors, and the rewards they receive by doing them. The second says that
people learn from observing others behaviors and the punishment that follows. The third way says
that people learn by observing others and receive no consequences for their actions. This paper will
attempt to show the pros and cons of social learningtheory in criminology, and how it relates to
statistical data.

Community Poetry By Pablo Neruda
The Rationale
One of the aims of this project was to provide an opportunity for individuals, and more importantly
the oppressed, to liberate their minds. Language has immense power in liberating and creating
transformative social change. Freire (2005) states that language is never neutral and cannot exist
without thought (p. 96). Despite the fact, language can be used as a tool of control by the
oppressors. It also holds the ability to be used as a means of liberation. Using creative language,
such as contributing to the community poetry project, can grant individuals the ability to
contemplate how their individualistic modern selves fit within a greater community. This can lead
to realization.
This would not be the first time that language, and more specifically poetry, has played an
essential role in liberation movements of the oppressed. A Chilean poet by the name of Pablo
Neruda, for instance, created works that were critical of society (Moran, 2009). Neruda s poetry
gave a voice to a population that felt ignored by their government and by the upper classes. The
poems gave courage and pride to the struggling working class (the oppressed). Chilean workers
memorized his works by heart and gathered in the streets to hear their poet (a poet of the people)
recite his writings (Moran, 2009). Language, in this instance, had the ability to create a
revolutionary spirit.
Many a great poet are not only critical of society, but of the injustices and inequitable relationships

Stereotypical Constructions of the Maori Race in the Media by Melanie Wall
In her text Stereotypical Constructions of the Maori Race in the Media Melanie Wall (1997)
explores two key ideas: how stereotypes gave Pakeha the justification to Colonise New Zealand
and the contemporary stereotypes of Maori in the media. Wall s argument is centred on the idea
that the stereotypes in the media today have been re created from the identity that was given to
the Maori by Pakeha during colonisation. she further argues that not only that the stereotypes
were given to the Maori but they were used to justify the colonisation of New Zealand. Wall goes
on to say that racial disclosure has played a huge role in the colonisation of territories as
stereotypes were used to justify the conceptual domination and the material exploitation of the new
world (pg40). Wall claims that since the Maori were portrayed as

The Psychology Of Alfred Adler Essay
Alfred Alder s experiences as a child with feelings of inferiority and weak physique drove his
theories of organ inferiority and idea that humans strive for superiority (Engler, 2014). Alder met
many obstacles in his childhood because of his health including a bone disease called rickets,
pneumonia at the age of four, and he was run over twice (Engler, 2014). Alder insisted that his
childhood was difficult and unhappy considering that his bone disease made him clumsy and
awkward (Engler, 2014). Adler s school teacher suggested he should be taken out of school, but he
later became a superior academic (Engler, 2014). In his adulthood, he established himself as a

The negative outcome that may occur is the organ inferiority leading the person to develop
possible neurotic disorders, while the positive path would be ideal compensation and lead to
optimal achievements. Every individual with an organ inferiority can choose to utilize their
strengths to complete goals or dramatize their lives by trying to achieve the impossible. Vaughan
(1927) mentions five characteristics in which one should examine organic imperfection which
are heredity, disease, definite stigmata, childish defects, and reflect anomalies. Heredity was
considered the aspect of the major role in inferiority. The concept of heredity corresponds with
Alder s first definition of organic inferiority, which is inherited damage. Definite stigmata are
abnormal features that should be looked at that suggests that the person has an inferior organ
(Vaughan 1927). The article gives the example of childish defects as lack of bladder control
(Vaughan, 1927). Reflect abnormalities whether they are absent or exaggerated show there is a
defective physiological mechanism (Vaughan, 1927). Alder s life is an example of compensation.
Alder had a bone disease that made him clumsy and awkward, thus he worked on developing his
intelligence rather than participating in sports. Alder stepped out of feelings of inferiority and
became a superior academic, and he also developed social interest and he felt that he fit in his group

Who Is Responsible For Macbeth s Downfall
In Renaissance literature, tragedies were popular stories among nobles and peasants alike. The
stage was a popular outlet to show the downfall of heros beginning in the 16th century. According
to Aristotle, there were five traits that a hero could contained in order to make him a tragic hero.
The first and simplest was that the characteris usually born of noble birth, making him more likely
to gain the throne and end up losing it in the end. The second was Hamartia, the tragic flaw in a
character that eventually leads to his downfall. Next, the Peripeteia which is a reversal of fortune
brought about by the hero s tragic flaw. This relates to Anagnorisis, which includes the hero s
actions resulting in an increase of tragic self awareness or self knowledge. Finally reaching

Through bloodshed, Macbeth gains his way to the throne in order to lose everything in the end.
Many readers believe that Macbeth deserved his ending and that he was responsible for his own
destruction. Although Macbeth makes many decisions in the story that affect his life, he is
ultimately not responsible for his own tragedy due to the ideas given to him by the witches, the
persuasion of Lady Macbeth, and the natural human thirst for power.
The Tragedy of Macbeth begins when Macbeth and his friend Banquo stumble upon the weird

Maus I: a Survivor s Tale: My Father Bleeds History is a 1986 graphic novel by Art Spiegelman

Snow Goose Overpopulation Essay
The Overpopulation of the Snow Goose in North America
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore available research on the overpopulation of the Snow Goose
on the North American continent. The snow goose has been rising in population since the middle
of the century and has been escalating so much it is destroying their natural habitat. Wildlife
managers have just recently begun to implement strategies to combat this problem. Mainly through
the use of hunters the managers are trying to curb the population growth.
Introduction

The population of Greater Snow Goose has reached 612,000 from around 50,000 in the mid 1960
s. Ross Goose has increased from 8,000 in 1957 to nearly 500,000 in 1995 (Abraham and Jeffries).
The Texas Department of Fish and Wildlife states that the population of wintering snow geesehas
remained constant. They imply this is due to the fact that the geese have spread their winter range
into other states (TWDS 1999). As indicated earlier it is very hard to count wintering birds

Factors contributing to High Population
The snow goose problem is a wildlife manager s nightmare. Through prudent restrictions on birds
taken as game, and the increase in refuges coupled with excellent habitat in the birds entire
range. It is estimated that there is nearly 900,000 ha of rice fields over the snow goose s winter
range (Abraham and Jeffries 1998). This is in addition to the typical salt marsh wintering ground.
Abraham and Jeffries suggest that farther to the North in states like Nebraska and North Dakota
the conversion of grassland prairie into cereal grains has provided a tremendous amount of food
for the geese. In addition it has also blurred the area typically considered the wintering range. It

The Requiem Scene in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman
The death of Willy Loman was remembered by few. He was mourned not because of his tragic

the ill attended funeral of Willy, the tragic hero who struggled to fulfill his vision of the American

Resolution is brought to conflicts between Willy and his own disillusionment, Willy and his hopes

One of the many false and contrived attitudes contemporary America implants in its citizens is a
very fierce pride, in which people cannot accept criticism. Willy Loman took such a pride in his
work, claiming himself to be ...vital in New England (14), and concurrently viewed himself as a
failure. Although Willy ...was wonderful with his hands (138), he saw any profession in

He was a happy man with a batch of cement. (138) This brings closure to the idea that had Willy
followed his heart, every conflict in the play would have been avoided.
Biff and Happys burdens are also alleviated by the death of their father. Biff implies that Willy
had mistaken hopes for himself as well as his boys when he remarks that Willy ... had all the

Alcoholism
Alcoholism refers the drinking of alcohol to such a degree that major aspects of one s life are

Alcoholism is considered a disease. It has known physical, psychological and social symptoms. An

personal problems, an increase in one s tolerance for alcohol, memory lapses or blackouts while
drinking, and an urgent craving for alcohol. In the middle and late phases, dependence on alcohol
causes tremors and agitation only relievable by alcohol.
Most likely, a combination of biological, psychological, and cultural factors contribute to the
development of alcoholism in any individual.
Alcoholism often seems to run in families. Although there is no conclusive indication of the
alcoholic family member is associated, studies show that 50 to
80 percent of all alcoholics have had a close alcoholic relative. Some researchers believe that one
inherits an addiction for alcohol. Studies on animals and twins seem to support this theory. One
study suggests that a susceptibility to alcoholism may be linked to a gene on chromosome eleven.
Alcoholism may also be related to emotional problems. For example, alcoholism is sometimes
associated with a family history of maniac depression.
Some alcoholics have used alcohol medicate a depressive disorder. Alcoholics commonly drown
their depressed or anxious feelings with alcohol. Some may drink to reduce inhibitions or negative
feelings. Many alcoholics share experiences of loneliness,

Why Communication Is Necessary For Successful Management...
In the field of educational research, the need for a clear communication between the project
managers and its team members is fueled by the need to accurately measure the project status and to
be able to effectively control the deviations. A well designed communication strategy in this
complex research is mandatory to develop an effective communication.
This paper focuses on the use of internal communication for the particular case of the StartSmart K
3 Plus educational research project. To have a better understanding of the benefits and limitations of
internal communications from a project perspective, I will provide a description of the
communications recommended to be used for this project and the development and application of
the strategy selection.
2.Literature review
The communication process is very important throughout the project because it keeps informed the
ones involve in it, but also keeps in touch with those across the organization. Ironically, it is also
regarded as one of the most neglected part of corporate operations (Toney Powers, 1997 P.33)
There are many reasons why communication is necessary for the successful management of
changes in a project. These include ensuring an increased understanding of the project to eliminate
waste and to motivate those involved in the processes affected.
According to Hameri (1997): the larger the project, the more important the role of communication.
He argued and I agreed, that communication is not only important

Famous websites, such as Amazon and eBay help many teenagers to look for what they need
within a few seconds. Websites like google can help them to find items at a relatively lower cost,
too. This saves a lot of time because they do not need to compare different costs at different
locations for something they want to buy. This is especially critical for teens these years because
they re more cautious with their cash than in previous years (Smith 4). Although people may
prefer to shop in stores, they usually cannot find enough time to do so. It is particularly true for
teens who do not have driver licenses or other transportation methods and consequently have to

reason that teens tend to shop online instead of shopping in stores even if they favor to do the

territories, employ rangers throughout, conduct fly past using the Air Force, and maintain bases at

In this study, we did the first validation for Hepa Index (a relatively new biomarkers panel for assessment of hepatic fibrosis) against liver biopsy in chronic hepatitis C. Hepa Index showed good sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, for predicting significant hepatic fibrosis, severe hepatic fibrosis, and cirrhosis in chronic hepatitis C patients. Hepa Index performance is almost equal to the performance of different patented and non patented noninvasive panels for assessment of hepatic fibrosis (FibroTest, FibroMeters, HepaScore, and APRI) which is reported to have an AUROCs ranging from 0.72 to 0.78 for detection of significant fibrosis and 0.77 to 0.86 for detection of cirrhosis [20]. Hepa Index as a serum biomarker panel carry the advantages of patented and expensive serum fibrosis biomarkers in addition to being free of charge and accurate in classifying significant hepatic fibrosis, advanced hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis. Essay on Electronic File Sharing Electronic File Sharing Often times new technology enables completely new activities, discoveries, and ways of living, once not possible without that particular technology. An example of this would be the microscope and telescope, which now allow us to see things not possible before. Other times, new technology allows us to do things which we did before, but in a different way.1 A good example of this is electronic file sharing over the Internet. Unauthorized file sharing was possible before the Internet, but on a much smaller scale. One person might have physically borrowed a music cd from another person and made a copy. With the Internet, it became possible for a single person to share (more like distribute without ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Napster) that were used for most illegal electronic file sharing were not a pure form of peer to peer architecture because a client (peer) in search of a particular file (song), would first connect to a centralized site, and then be directed to a peer who would have that particular file. So, in a system like Napster, Napster did not provide songs to clients, it only provided a client with a place where it could acquire the songs. Now lets take a look at the legal issues involved with file sharing. In the recording industry, there are two copyright laws involved. The first one is the copyright of the musical composition, which deals with the lyrics and musical notes. This is usually owned by the songwriter or music publisher.4 The second law is the copyright in sound recording, which deals with the recording of the performer singing or playing a given song. This is usually owned by the record company.5 The law that is violated with electronic file sharing is the second one. Titles 17 and 18 of the U.S. Code protect copyright owners from the unauthorized reproduction, adaptation or distribution of sound recordings, as well as certain digital performances to the public.6 So, from the legal clauses, it can be interpreted that users of popular online sites such as Napster are engaging in unauthorized distribution of sound recordings. The online infringement of copyrighted music can be punished with several years in prison. 7 The most popular system ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main similarity is that both sets of cells undergo the four phases of the cell cycle: G1, S, G2, M. There are three checkpoints within the cell cycle that tell the cell to move to the next phase or die, but cancercancer cells do not obey the checkpoints. During the first phase, G1 phase, normal cells double in size and the number of organelles double as well. The G1 checkpoint ensures that proper doubling has occurred and allows cells to move forward to S phase. However, cancer cells that are too small or have too few organelles will not die. • 13. The Importance Of Education In America The education system in the United States is one that has changed throughout time, and one that has drastically changed in the relatively recent years of the country. While the US was once a country that educated its students based on obtaining knowledge meant to help the individual succeed in daily life, the system is believed to have changed due to many of its students wishing to become accustomed to life in factories. This factory and manufacturing lifestyle was one with long, strenuous work days, with little time for breaks or communication between its workers. With this changecame a change in the education, leading to long, strenuous work hours, and with an emphasis on standardized tests. This has thus changed the system from a curriculum that was once arts, music, and literature focused into one that focuses solely on mathematics and sciences. Through Scott L. Newstok s article How to Think Like Shakespeare, Newstok analyzes how this change has led to the elimination of the contentment and even the imagination aspects of education. Without embracing the possible variations in education of students, this leads to the potential decline in advancements of the United States as a society. Throughout his text, Newstok proposes multiple ideas regarding how the change in the education system has led to the decline of the overall function of society. Newstok notes that thoughtshould not be restrained exclusively to what is learned during classes, but instead should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Community Poetry By Pablo Neruda The Rationale One of the aims of this project was to provide an opportunity for individuals, and more importantly the oppressed, to liberate their minds. Language has immense power in liberating and creating transformative social change. Freire (2005) states that language is never neutral and cannot exist without thought (p. 96). Despite the fact, language can be used as a tool of control by the oppressors. It also holds the ability to be used as a means of liberation. Using creative language, such as contributing to the community poetry project, can grant individuals the ability to contemplate how their individualistic modern selves fit within a greater community. This can lead to realization. This would not be the first time that language, and more specifically poetry, has played an essential role in liberation movements of the oppressed. A Chilean poet by the name of Pablo Neruda, for instance, created works that were critical of society (Moran, 2009). Neruda s poetry gave a voice to a population that felt ignored by their government and by the upper classes. The poems gave courage and pride to the struggling working class (the oppressed). Chilean workers memorized his works by heart and gathered in the streets to hear their poet (a poet of the people) recite his writings (Moran, 2009). Vaughan (1927) mentions five characteristics in which one should examine organic imperfection which are heredity, disease, definite stigmata, childish defects, and reflect anomalies. Heredity was considered the aspect of the major role in inferiority. The concept of heredity corresponds with Alder s first definition of organic inferiority, which is inherited damage. Definite stigmata are abnormal features that should be looked at that suggests that the person has an inferior organ (Vaughan 1927). The article gives the example of childish defects as lack of bladder control (Vaughan, 1927).
