Cancer Cell Comparison
The cell cycle of a normal cell and a cancer cell have many similarities and differences. The main
similarity is that both sets of cells undergo the four phases of the cell cycle: G1, S, G2, M. There
are three checkpoints within the cell cycle that tell the cell to move to the next phase or die, but
cancercancer cells do not obey the checkpoints. During the first phase, G1 phase, normal cells
double in size and the number of organelles double as well. The G1 checkpoint ensures that
proper doubling has occurred and allows cells to move forward to S phase. However, cancer cells
that are too small or have too few organelles will not die. During the second phase, S phase, DNA
replication (an identical copy of all the cell s DNA is made)... Show more content on

Cancers that are associated with environmental risk factors have to do with where they spend
most of their time (usually where they live). Some examples of cancers that can be passed on
genetically are breast and ovarian cancer. The mutated genes of a parent can be inherited by
their children causing them to get the same cancer. BRCA1 and BRCA2 are tumor suppressor
genes that can be mutated to cause breast and ovarian cancers. Some examples of cancers caused
by environmental factors are lung and skin cancer. People who smoke tend to get lung cancer
because when they inhale cigarette smoke and there are chemicals in it that cause cancer.
Radiation, specifically from the sun, can cause skin cancer because it damages the DNA in the
cells, which causes mutations of the cells. According to a surgeon named Sanjiv Haribhakti, only
5 10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90 95% have
their roots in the environment and lifestyle. In other words people are more likely to get cancer due
to environmental factors and not by inheriting

Weight Of Identification Essay
The Weight of Identification What is light weight to the touch of a hand, but those who bear it
around their neck feel the ultimate mass and value carried behind it? It is made up of a ball
bearing chain that connects to another smaller chain holding a pair of two inch by 1 and 1/8 inch
engraved metal plates. They make a very distinctive metal sound over the heart when the human
body is in motion. Engraved upon these metal plates is someones name, followed by their blood
type, social security number and religion. This is no ordinary necklace, this combination of chain
and nickel copper alloy, is a pair of dog tags. Dog tags are given to recruits during the first few

It solidifies the idea that the ones that have been lost in war, will live on forever and their duty is
not just a mere statistic of casualties on the battlefield. The metal plates have been through it all,
created by nickel and copper yet truly forged in blood sweat and tears. They have endured
hardship though mud, sand and water, but if they are examined closely, the ordinary eye would
notice that they are not completely damaged or disrupted.Dog tags represent hardship, and
determination to never be broken or bent. They are often kept around the necks of veterans after
their enlistment, in order to retain the memory of the family they were once adopted by; to keep
the friends and the bonds created close to the heart. A veteran never forgets his or her fellow
comrades, nor the drill sergeant from basic training that supplied each tag from the very
beginning. Dog tags can symbolize the beginning of a new path for someone, but also the end.
During the ceremony of a fallen service member, the tags are hung from the lower receiver of an
M4 carbine. The helmet worn by that soldier rests peacefully atop of the stock of the weapon as
the funeral detail renders a 21 gun solute, this is called the battlefield cross. Dog tags can be hung
from rear view mirrors, around picture frames or worn by family members as well. In the National

Wasted Time In High School
Emily Sellers
Composition 1301 332
Mrs. Kinkead
24 September 2017Wasted time in High School
Public high schools tend to waste a lot of time in class doing things that aren t related to school at
all. It has been reported that in many schools, teachers make students do chores for them for extra
credit points, while others are learning new things. Jay Mathews wrote A startling waste of precious
classroom time, published in 2014 in the Washington Post, and he argues that so much time is
wasted in low income schools due to teachers and it makes it very difficult for students to learn in
that environment. Mathews begins to establish pathos by stating the names of two girls that go to
Compton High School and want to learn, but their school is unable to give them the education they
desire. Mathews established ethos a little later in his article by stating facts about programs he has
encountered with inner city schools; however, toward the end of his article, he uses facts to
establish logos, which is the appeal of logic, while stating that schools have been sued because low
income students have not been given the right education.
Mathews explains that Wasting time is common in the nation s low income schools. Class
schedules can be a mess at the beginning of the year, forcing students to wait days in the library for
their assignments (Mathews). Mathews establishes ethos through stating the facts of wasted time in
low income schools. Mathews states that at Compton High

The Effect of Visual Field Position and Type of Stimuli on...
Abstract
An experiment was conducted to test the effect of lateralization and congruency on reaction time to
name colors. This was done using a computer program provided by The University of Mississippi.
This effect is called the stroop effect. Results showed that it was neither lateralization nor
congruency had a significant effect on reaction time, but the interaction of these two variables that
created a significant change in the time needed to recognize colors. It is believed that this is due to
the different hemispheric functions of the brain. Studies that are similar to this in nature help to
better understand how the brain functions and it capabilities.

The time to name congruent stimuli should be faster then the time to name incongruent stimuli.
The time to name ink color will vary with both visual field position and type of stimuli. Time to
name ink colors for congruent stimuli should not vary much with visual field but the time to name
ink color of incongruent should increase as the stimuli gets color to the right visual field.
Methods
Participants
This study contained a total of fifteen students from the University of Tampa s upper level
psychology class. Thirteen of the participants were female and the remaining two were male. In
addition to this class thirty six students from other classes were also used in this study.
Materials
I Mac G3 computers and a program from Old Mississippi University were used to test the
lateralized Stroop effect from http://psychexp.olemiss.edu. The name of the actual program was
the Lateralized Stroop Experiment. The stimuli used by this program were colors that appeared
laterally on a computer screen. Not only did the colors appear laterally but in differing
hemispheres on the computer screen. The colors were in the form of written words. For example
the word red was shown in green font. This was be an example of an incongruent stimulus because

Analysis Of Animal Farm, By George Orwell
Animal Farm was written by George Orwell in 1945. The book reflects events leading up to the
Russian Revolution of 1917 and then on into the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. Animal farm
includes use of propaganda as well. A quote for example would be some animals are equal but
some are more equal than others. I think that this book fits that quote very well as the author
makes Napoleon along with Snowball are the leaders of the rebellion against Jones. A few
questions that come to mind are, how does one define one animal being more equal than others?
Why is a certain animal favored over the others? Why are there two leaders of the same animal
and not two different ones? Why are two pigs picked as the leader? I feel that this book... Show

This theme in Animal Farm can also be looked as people being equal, but some are more equal
than others because sometimes that is how certain people see others. Just because they re
different they don t get the same treatment as others. My argument is for everyone and every
animal being equal. The leaders Napoleon and Snowball do not take the role in treating the
other animals equally. Boxer, the horse works harder than anyone else and is not treated as well
as the other animals. He was not first in the rate of intelligence, but he was university respected
for his steadiness of character, and tremendous power of work. These are great qualities for a
horse, but as it turns out not such great qualities for a revolutionary under Stalin s government. He
works harder for others but still is treated unequally. His self motto is I will work harder.
Comparing the animals to one another because they re different is like comparing a black human
being with a white human being. They may look different from everyone else but does that mean
they should be voted out of doing something because of it? No it does not. I believe that everyone
is the same no matter their race, religion, sexuality, anything about them that will put them out in a
different group. Just because something is different about them doesn t mean they should be
excluded from doing certain

Essay On The Role Of Coach Winning In Sports
What drives a coach winning or the development of players? We as coaches have taken on a role
of responsibility that means a lot to athletes, families and communities. Playing athletics of any
sort will teach you many life lessons. But within any work force, you have to produce or make
some form of progress. With that being said a major factor when it comes to coachingis, what do
you value more? The development of your players or winning games to look good or satisfy some
internal drive? Since I have been enrolled in graduate school and taking classes on how to become
a better coach. The first step a coach should take to prepare themselves is developing a coaching

This is an ideal topic when talking about coaching and what is valued more
In the clash of coaching philosophies in youth soccer winning vs development they talk about how
the majority of the time the pressure to win comes from the parents and coaches that have limited
knowledge. They stated that focusing too much on winning will hurt younger athletes as they get
older. In our culture today they will praise the winners and no one remembers the losers. The article
ultimately sums up that the coach s main goal should be the development of their players and
winning later.
After reading this article I find it very helpful on how it pertains to the topic of this paper. The
point of this research is to find the drive that a coach has. This article mainly pointed out younger
children in the sport of soccer and the concepts could clearly be used for any sport.
As time has progressed the legal and ethical responsibilities of a coach can be tied into their title
and how it affects their position. Rich Engelhorn of Iowa State University touched on many ideas
that a coach has to take into consideration. He states a coach s legal duties are being
knowledgeable, providing a safe environment, adequate supervision of athletes, etc. The ethical
responsibilities of coach are but not limited to, encouraging development, participation, and most
importantly; the goal is to win, but to win the correct way. Never sacrifice character for the win.
He then goes on to say A program should

Television Without Cable Or Satellite Subscription Can...
Figuring out how to watch TV without a cable or satellite subscription can leave you feeling
overwhelmed. When my wife and I cut the cord, we went back and forth for weeks on the
decision. Ultimately, it was the best thing we ever did for our family.
We are saving thousands, and watching quality shows we enjoy without all of the garbage television
shows that comes with a cable bundle. Don t think we re missing out without cable TV.We watch
the current seasons of hit shows like Game of Thrones , The Walking Dead , and Better Call Saul .
Watching sports without cable is easy. And most importantly, the kids are satisfied with all the
content available on Amazon Prime.
I know you ll be happy when you call the cable company and cut the cord once and for all, but I
wanted to share some tips and tricks that may make this decision easier.
Keep a TV Journal
Don t rack your brain trying to figure out everything your family watches. Simply write is down
in a journal. Hand everyone a small notebook and when they watch a show record the show title
and network in the notebook. This will give you an idea of your families viewing habits and let
you know which are the most watch networks.
Many will be surprised to find that 80 90% of the shows they watch are on NBC, CBS, ABC, and
FOX. Those broadcast networks are free using an over the air antenna. If you aren t close enough to
the towers, you can watch these networks online through Hulu+ and CBS All Access.

Essay On New Solar System
In this article, it states that 39 light years away from Earth, there is a belief that science has
found a new solar system. That very solar system is special since it has seven planets that are
very alike to our Earth. With the terrain being rocky and warm enough that it could support life
on it. This discovery is the first time people have ever found that out that there are rocky planets
that are orbiting a single star. Before we have the technology we have today, the only terrestrial
planets we knew of being four planets. And we didn t even know much about our solar system,
other than our planetand some a few others, but as we reach a new age in our world so many other
windows are opening to us as a society.

Also in paragraph three, it states that Last May, the scientists published that they had discovered
three rocky bodies orbiting the star. They named them TRAPPIST в‚Ѓb, в‚Ѓc and в‚Ѓd. Later,
Gilion realized that the dip in brightness he thought came from в‚Ѓd was actually caused by three
planets all crossing at the same time. They eventually realized that there were actually seven
planets. The quote explains that all former three planets were orbiting their own star, which were
caused in a dip of brightness that caused the planets to cross at the same time. All TRAPPIST
planets orbit the same star, the line on which they orbit all move at the same times. They reach
each starting point at the same time which is not really like other planets we have ever heard of
before, mainly because the all of the planets in our solar system all move at their own speed.
Including information comes from Planets Are Close Enough For Atmospheric Studies.
Information for this comes from paragraph one, it states that For years, scientists have found
evidence that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is full of Earth like planets. However, the TRAPPIST в‚Ѓ
researchers say this solar system is our best target yet to search for life outside of Earth. This quote

The Economics of the iPhone
The Economics of the iPhone
Introduction
The best selling Apple iPhone by any measure of financial and market performance is an
unparalleled success. The Apple iPhone is credited with creating one of the most robust, extensive
supply chain ecosystems globally today, fueling nearly $7B to $10B in ancillary products and
services. Paradoxically even the success of the iPhone has done little to increase U.S. exports.
Startlingly the Apple iPhone s success, according to a recent study, has actually fueled an even
greater deficit in the U.S., making a significant contribution to the $1.9B deficit with China (Xing,
Detert, 2011). This counterintuitive finding from the analysis of the researchers suggest that
transaction velocity and supply chain coordination across global networks increase export surpluses
not of the nation who company built the product, but the one that builds it (Xing, Detert, 2011).
Analysis
The pace of new product introductions combined with the exceptionally rapid growth of global
supply chains and their performance have paradoxically put the United States in an ever more
dependent condition with China and other trading partners. This in turn has created a high level of
dependency on pricing and availability factors of production, which from an import and export
standpoint, favor China significantly over the U.S. (Xing, Detert, 2011).
In addition to these factors, the capital infusions from global investors are now favoring those

Did Christianity Change Over Time
Christianity is far from what many might call a perfect and successful religion. Saying that it has
been completely accepted, unchanged, and resolute since the beginning of the A.D. times would be
false. Events like the murder of Christians within the gladiator games of the Roman Circus and the
need to create the Edict of Milan show this clearly. Not only this but it has changed over time, as
shown with the events of the Iconoclast Controversy between the Roman Orthodox and Catholic
churches when differences in what should be allowed within the Christian worship. Christianityis
not a successful, untouched religion. It was certainly not wholly welcomed at the time of Christ s
birth , people have been persecuted and treated terribly for having that as their religion, and not
everyone has accepted it as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christianity began with the calling of Abraham and the founding of the Jewish nation. They
eventually found their way to Canaan, remaining there peacefully until the kingdom was split
into two. They soon later fell to the Assyrians. The Assyrians then in turn fall to the Babylonians,
who are conquered by Alexander the Great. They essentially follow Rome through its existence
and go into the age of the Byzantine Empire, the point in which Christians finally had a
breakthrough and could start to practice their religion free of worry about being killed for it. If
none of these events were to have happened, Christianity might not have had a chance to grow or
start at all, even and it s massive influence upon the world would be lost. Prior to the rise of
Christians, the world had been a primarily polytheistic place, and most wanted to keep it that way.
This is one of the reasons that Christians faced so much prosecution in the beginning. That is, until
the Edict of Milan is created by Constantine

Disease Classification Structures
Disease Classification Structures
Health care information systems cover a wide range of issues dealing with the supervision and use
of biomedical information. Health information systems are central support tools in the
administration of health care services. An acceptable health information system is important not
only for evaluating the health needs of populations but also for preparation and for application of
health interventions. It is equally imperative in the assessment of programs. The goal of
information systems is to create an appropriate working environment. This is done by providing
initial and going training, allocating resources, and by managing unintended consequences (Wager,
Lee Glaser, 2009).

Death certificates are also pulled to determine the cause of death and monitor diseases that could
change and affect more populations. The data is pulled to analyze epidemiology and provide control
of diseases across the world.
Any negative aspects of your selection
Every system in healthcare has its positive and negative traits. Though there are few disadvantages
to the classification of diseases, understanding them is of importance. New diseases are being
found yearly to even monthly, and every several years the classification of diseases needs to be
updated, which can cause changes to the past and current classification. Once the system has been
changed, and it is important that there is proper communication of the change so this classification
of system remains understandable and useful. Categories for past census may be different from
past categories, so these changes will also make it hard to compare past and current census.
Conclusion
Disease classification information structures are very important for the health care community. The
ICD is used to monitor health care disease and categorize the disease in a format that is universal
to all health care organizations. The ICD has provided a system to assist in the reimbursement
process for health care organizations. The ICD is also important to monitor diseases and prevent the
spread of infection. The ICD information structure has provided a standard that

Descriptive Essay About Love
Finding Love
As I walk into the Homeward Animal Shelter for my dog walking shift, I think of the reason I
began my weekly volunteering. I want to give love, in any way I can, to the animals who have
been left by the ones they love. These animals that I spend an hour and a half with every Sunday
need to know that someone loves them. That they have not been forgotten about and it gets better.
After spending the summer with my aunt and uncle, I learned that. As I watched their newest
rescue dog Snoop open up to me after 3 years and watching his mile stones. For a dog that was
abandoned by his family and left on the street, bounced between the shelter and temporary homes,
he has finally found permanent love in our family.
Snoop s journey into our family began when his family abandoned him and his little chihuahua
brother on the side of the road. They fended for each other for days until they were brought to the
pound. From there they were separated. Where the little Chihuahua went is unknown, but Snoop,
being a pure bread German Shepherd, was taken to Missouri German Shepherd Rescue (MOGS),
a rescue center specializing in Shepherds. His white coat made him easy to love, but after the
treatment of his last family he did not easily love others. Once Snoop had come out of his shell,
not so sheepishly hiding from the shelter staff, he was moved into a foster home. Here in this foster
home he started to become the dog my family knows today. Living with another Shepherd helped

the successes she has accomplished through counselling. As well as give Vara a chance to talk

any underlying issues are managed is I would suggest to Vara that we try to come up with some
coping strategies and ways to manage the core issues. To help Vara have a better understanding
of the underlying issues and be confident to be able to manage after counselling, I would ask
Vara to look at the ways she has previously achieved goals and the strategies she has used to get

The US did not want to help France reinstate colonial rule but at the same time knew that a

to explore more military solutions (Messing 1309; Schulzinger 72). The Geneva Accords failed
to keep the peace as the US did not agree to its final declaration (Messing 1312). It is assumed
that the United States is bound by the Geneva accords and its actions should correspond with the

justifiable because North Vietnam had broken the accords first; however, there is little evidence to

North Vietnam had broken the accords first, the United Nations Charter article 2, paragraph 4,

It s the dead of the night and the shrieking calls of a barred owl break the silence. A young child
bolts upright in bed with fear written across her innocent face. A teacher s class is about to be

Cavemen wore these a lot in The Ice Age. The children in these scenarios are the victims of deceit.
Both poems, A Barred Owl and The History Teacher by Richard Wilbur and Billy Collins show the
effects of not exposing children to the truth early on in life. The parent and teacher mentioned are
only concerned about their children s innocence remaining intact, and they don t take into

When the child was put to bed, the sky was probably not as dark as it was when she was woken
by the owl. Wilbur s words reveal this when the poem begins on a lighter note than the gruesome
ending. An owl has eyes that are much larger than those of the child mentioned. That being said,
this barred owl can clearly see the world and the life around him. The child cannot due to the fact
that her parents are preventing her from such exposure. Innocent minds deserve a healthy dose of
reality provided in the form of truthful explanations from the adults in their lives. The poem, The
History Teacher leans towards a more playful and bright tone than the tone Wilbur used in A
Barred Owl. It almost sounds ironic that Collins titled the poem, The History Teacher because
when spoken in a sarcastic tone it sounds like he s mocking the teacher. He calls him a history
teacher sarcastically because the poet agrees with the fact that this teacher isn t actually teaching
history. He s feeding the children

A Landmark Supreme Court Case
A landmark Supreme Court case is one in which a precedence is set and there is an impact on
society. There are many reasons for the importance of landmark cases and the studying of such
cases. Some of these reasons are to study how the judicial branch works, try to understand how
decisions made in the judicial branch affects laws and everyday life, and predict how current
issues and cases will be affected by past decisions (The Judicial Learning Center, 2012). There
are many examples of Supreme Court cases that are considered to be a landmark, but one
example is Texas vs. Johnson. Outside of the 1984 Republican National Convention in Dallas,
Texas, many people protested President Ronald Reagan s policies. Among the protestors was
one man named Gregory Lee Johnson. This man was so upset by the policies of the President
that he burned an American flag in protest. By doing this, a statute in Texas was violated. This
statute prevented the desecration of an American flag if it could possibly anger other people
amongst the protest. Johnson was arrested and charged with this violation. He was later tried in
court and convicted, but he made an appeal stating that by burning the flag he was expressing his
rights of symbolic speech which are protected by the first amendment (uscourts.gov). The
definition of symbolic speech is the same as a term called speech plus . This is a form of
expression in which behavior is used by itself or in coordination with written or spoken

Argumentative Essay On Food Bank Rights
Food banks provide prevailing economic need as a distribution outlet for the federal government

majority of seniors that use food banks receive some social assistance, over 41% lived alone, and

System Administration and Me Essay
System Administration and Me
What is system administration? System administration is basically adding and configuring new
workstations, setting up user accounts, installing system wide software, performing procedures to
prevent the spread of viruses, and allocating mass storage type. While there are a lot more things
that make up the job description of most system administrators, these are the ones that I ll be
touching on in this report. But before getting into what that stuff means, let s talk a little bit about
what s required for a system administration position.

But luckily, you don t have to know everything about them. A good, solid foundation in an
operating system is usually enough. If you know all of the commands, or know where to find them,
you should be fine.
When you get a firm grasp on operating systems, then you should learn some other software.
Things such as Perl, Oracle, and Apache are good to know. Perl is a programming language that
can be used to create many, many things. Among them being web sites. The system
administrator is oftentimes called upon to also double as webmaster for the company.
Therefore, knowing how to create and maintain a web page is very helpful. Oracle is a database
program. It would come in handy for keeping track of employees...where they go while on the
internet, their phone number, salary, and a number of other things. Apache is a server software.
It got its name from being a spin off of a previous software that was patched (a patchy). It hosts
more than 50% of all the sites in the world. As before, there is almost an infinite amount of
knowledge of software that could all be helpful, but knowing everything is almost impossible. So
if you don t know it all, don t worry. You can always take classes at LSSU!!
Ok. Now that we have the basics out of the way, let s get back to some of the job descriptions.

Speech About Fat Cats
Fat cats are cute... there.. I said it. I feel so much better. But despite their adorableness, excess

your kitty shed those pounds.

That being said, it is very important to ensure that your cat is getting in some food, even if it s

Alcohol And Hepatocellular Tumor
The liver is the organ responsible for filtering chemicals and metabolizing drugs. It also makes
proteins responsible for blood clotting and other functions. When alcohol reaches the liver, it
produces a dangerous enzyme known as acetaldehyde. The liver needs water to do its basic
functions. Alcohol acts as a diuretic and dehydrates the body, depriving the liverof the water it needs
to function. When acetaldehyde and other alcoholic toxins build up in the liver, they can cause a
variety of health problems.
One of the most commonly known problems of the liver caused by alcohol is hepatocellular
carcinoma (HCC), a type of liver cancer. There are other types of liver cancers, such as
cholangiocarcinoma, a cancer of the bile duct, and hepatic angiosarcoma, a rare malignant
mesenchymal tumor. Both of these cancers are not caused by alcohol abuse. HCC is caused by
cirrhosis or other long term damage to the liver. Cirrhosis is most often caused by alcohol abuse,
hemochromatosis, or a hepatitis B or C infection. Symptoms of HCC include abdominal pain, easy

An Alpine Divorce
The atmosphere of the story is very intense. The atmosphere of the story is first set up by
language the narrator uses describing John Bodman, marriage ,and the world around him(the
narrator). In some natures there are no half tones , the mathematical chances are all such a
meeting, and this is the reason that of divorce courts exist. , Marriage at best is a compromise .
These quotes are very intense to hear. The narrator is a person who deals in absolutes, calculates
even the most menial things in life, he besmirches the sanctity of marriage and takes marriage
for granted. These are things that a cold, calculating, cynical person would say. The intense
atmosphere of the story is also portrayed through the setting of the story, the Swiss Alps. The
Alps are the one of the highest mountain ranges in the world. The Alps are also considered a
very cold place due to snow and high winds and isolated place since most people only stay and

U.s. Foreign Tax Credit
The income earned by the U.S. individuals and corporations in the foreign countries or foreign
source are taxed by the U.S. government, even though other countries also tax any income earned
within their borders. To offset this double taxation of income by two different countries, the U.S.
grants both individuals and corporations a foreign taxcredit (FTC) that can be used to offset
income taxes assessed by a foreign country on the income earned there (Foreign Tax Credit, FTC,
n.d.). The FTC is allowable for foreign income taxes and other similar taxes, such as excess profit
and war profit taxes. However, only income taxes qualify for the credit. The Value Added Taxes
(VAT) and property, sales and severance taxes do not qualify, although they may be deductible.
Eligible FTC Income
The foreign tax credit can only reduce U.S. taxes on foreign source income; it cannot reduce U.S.
taxes on U.S. source income. It is generally better to take a credit for qualified foreign taxes than
to deduct them as an itemized deduction because credit reduces the tax liability dollar for dollar.
(Foreign Tax Credit Choosing To Take Credit or Deduction, n.d. ).
Claiming a deduction may be preferable to claiming the foreign tax credit if the foreign tax rate
and the proportion of foreign income to United States income is high. The tax should be computed
both ways to determine the larger benefit. Unless the de minimis exception applies, the FTC is
calculated on Form 1116. Corporations must file

Overfishing In South Africa
Overfishing has become a devastating reality and priority concern to our Oceans in South Africa,
as well on a global scale. The interest of overfishing, is to eradicate hunger issues in developing
countries all over the world, as well as to create a vast improvement of job opportunities, however
due to our unsustainable fishing practices, it is just a matter of time before our oceans are
completely depleted of marine species, and the destruction of the aquatic ecosystem. This issue will
resort to irreparable socio economic and environmental circumstances that will be of severe
consequence if we do not alter our local and international commercial fishing operations. Due to
overfishing throughout the continents, South African waters has become a viable target for
international role players to maintain the demand of fishing operations and fishstocks that is
required for global markets. Due to inadequately monitored fishing operations, overfishing has
left South Africa with a significant shortage of food resources for the poor, who depend on fish
as their staple diet. According to the World Wildlife Fund, Seafood is the largest traded food
commodity in the world. Approximately three billion people worldwide rely on seafood as their
primary source of protein. As the world tries to meet that demand, 55 percent of the world s
fisheries are fished to their maximum sustainable yield, while 30 percent have been pushed beyond
their biological limits. Preserving healthy fish

Analytical Analysis Of Frost At Midnight By Samuel Coleridge
Analytical essay of Frost at Midnight by Samuel Coleridge
People think that nature brings a sort of calmness, happiness or peace, which is why most people
travel to places with beautiful sceneries, or build houses near beaches, or have a plant in their
surrounding or even just a painting of a tree, flower or mountain. The importance of nature is
subjective as it nature touches people in different ways. The poem Frost at Midnight, Samuel
Coleridge, is a monolingual conversation between the speaker and his sleeping infant. It is written
in blank verse, with little or no rhyme but in iambic pentameter. In this poem, the speaker
emphasises the importance of nature by equating it to God, he also speaks about the ability of
nature to create treasured memories, which he wants to use to plant himself in his child s future,
therefore, he his rallying against modernization because of this.
The speaker stresses the importance of nature by comparing it to God, he says that his child will
be far from God because he will not be able to hear God s voice which apparently is, The lovely
shapes and sounds intelligible / Of that eternal language... (65 66). I believe that this comparison
is quite different as most religions such as Christianity do not equate God with earth but instead
suggests that God created earth (New International Version, Gen. 1.1). This sentence makes me
think that God can mean different things to different people. The thing or person we worship
the most or respect the most can be a god, money can be a god, a popular music artist can be a god,
and a tyrannical president can also be a god. The speaker s definition of a God involved the ability
to: from eternity doth teach Himself in all... Great universal Teacher! (67 69).The speaker s
definition of God entails the ability to be able to teach one s self and be able to mold spirits.
Thereby nature is important in this way because it can mold people s spirits and lives.
Another way in which the speaker stresses the importance of nature is by stating benefits from
nature. He is sitting at home and staring out through the window, looking at the fluttering object
and listening to the owl while the rest of the residents in the house are asleep. He is in his

Watson s Theory Of Human Caring
Watson s Carative Factors
According to Watson, the ten carative factors of her theory serve as core principles critical to the
practice of human caring (Watson, 2012). Watson s theory provides an appropriate framework to
help palliative care nurses promote positive outcomes in patients experiencing hopelessness. For
example, one of Watson s carative factors encourages patients to promote negative feelings in order
to strengthen the nurse patient relationship (McKay, Rajacich, Rosenbaum, 2002). Encouraging
patients to vent feelings of hopelessness allows the nurse to provide the patient with proper
support. Watson s Theory of Human Caring can be operationalized by demonstration of ten caritas

Nursing
Definitions of hopelessness in nursing literature tend to vary. According to the North American
Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), hopelessness is a subjective state in which an
individual sees limited or unavailable alternatives or personal choices and is unable to mobilize
energy on own behalf, (2017, p. 466). NANDA s defining characteristics of hopelessness include,
but are not limited to: passivity, lack of involvement in care, decreased appetite and decreased
verbalization (2017, p. 466). The concept of hopelessness within the nursing context encompasses
cognitive and emotional elements. In her research, Campbell identified four characteristics of
hopelessness: negative future expectations, loss of control over future outcomes, passive
acceptance, and emotional negativity (Campbell, 1987). Within the nursing context, hopelessness
can also be viewed as lack of involvement in one s own care (Kylma, Duggleby, Cooper,
Molander, 2005). Another prominent study in nursing, however, focusing on the dynamics of hope
and hopeless in palliative care suggested that most of the terminally ill patients attributed their
feelings of hopelessness to losses in the past (Olsman, Leget, Duggleby, Willems, 2015). Feelings
of hopelessness can also be considered either state of being or a character trait (Dunn, 2005).
Hopelessness can also be viewed independently

Numerous covered shopping arcades, such as the 19th century Al Hamidiyah Souq in

The Pros And Cons Of Federalists And Republicans
After Washington s historic term as president, he warned in his farewell address to the American
citizens against political parties and foreign affairs and encouraged them to unify as one republic.
Despite Washington s advice to the nation, political parties and foreign affairs were yet established
that divided the nation into two opposing factions: Federalists and Republicans. The Federalists, led
mainly by Alexander Hamilton, were the citizens who favored the Constitution. Anti Federalists, on
the other hand, were the citizens who opposed the ratification of the Constitution and sided with
Jefferson to form the Democratic Republican Party. While Federalists envisioned America with a
strong, complex, and centralized government, Republicans wanted America to remain a small
federal government where states and local governments held the majority of the power.
Many of the Federalist plans were centered around the idea of a strong, centralized government
that was effective and organized in the way it ran. Those who were Federalists, generally, were
people of professions and advocates of commercial interest. Alexander Hamilton, who led the
Federalist Party, wanted to pay off the national debt by establishing a national bank, restoring trade
with Britain, and encouraging American manufacturing through government tariffs in order to
improve the economy after the American Revolution. Hamilton believed that a strong and cohesive
government would allow these plans to work effectively

Managing Workforce Training And Management For Economic...
With the costs associated in maintaining a skilled workforce shooting up, it is crucial for
organizations to adapt to the changing environments and make better informed decisions in terms
of workforce training and management for economic survival (Kapp, 1999). Managing
workforces involve both short term and long term decisions to determine the most effective
practices and policies to close gaps and meet future workforce needs. While long term decisions
deal with the overall composition of the workforce and the number of workers to hire or fire, short
term decisions involve assigning workers to tasks often with an objective like meeting demand or
cross training. The focus of this thesis is on short term scheduling models to assign workers to
departments/tasks.
Scheduling models, with certain exceptions, often fail to capture a realistic scenario within the
mathematical model while assigning workers to tasks (Bruecker et al., 2015). Some of the key
challenges faced by managers in real situations are worker heterogeneity, the effects of learning
/forgetting and variation in demand. Both in production systems and service oriented industries,
assuming that all workers are equally productive while there can be substantial differences in
individual capabilities in the real world, could have a considerable effect on the realized
performance of the production system. Boudreau (2003), while contrasting the views of Operations
Management (OM) and Human Resources Management (HRM),

renowned for his style. Hitchcock enjoyed suspense in his films as Hitchcock said Always make

The first tier is the green backdrop with the title of the film and the mains stars. Then the
sequence moves to the second tier while still showing the credits the stars of the film it fades
into the Manhattan building, setting the scene as well as giving us a sense of where we are.
Then finally it fades into the busy streets of people hustling and bustling through the streets. This
sets the scene for the viewer and gives the viewer an idea of what to expect throughout the
movie. The music used in North by Northwest is used to incite tension within a shot a clear
example of this is during the Mount Rushmore chase where Kendal and Thornhill were running
away from VanDamm and his men. The consistent cutting between Thornhill and Vandamm as
they were running away while the music pick up when VanDamm gets closer and the escape
routes of Thornhill and Kendal are cut off one by one. In North by Northwest , many of the
dramatic scenes for example the crop duster scene, were shot with rear projection. A technique
were the background of the scene has already been filmed and the actor is place d in front of it.
The easiest example of this is when Thornhill gets into a taxi and then film of the taxi driving past
buildings and streets is played behind the windows to give the illusion of the car

Networking Event Essay
Networking Event
In Long Term Care Administration Fall Networking Day and Symposium, I got the chance to learn
how an Administrator has to oversee the other department and what are the responsibilities of the
Administrator. There was a different topic that I get a chance to learn about, for instance, Top 10
Deadly Sins of the Nursing Home Administrator, that I thought, it was peculiar and interesting.
Dr. Todd, briefly told the whole audience how this deadly sins would affect you, as an
Administrator, in personal and professional level. It s hard to be a co worker, friend,
acquaintances , and be a Boss at the same time. Standing on a pedestal, taking a decision that
affects each one of the employee future as well as residents, is not that easy. Managing the whole ...

Other deadly sins that were mentioned by Dr. Todd was failure to give positive reinforcement,
failure to support and drive, over promising, not knowing the regulations, financial incompetence,
lack of emotional control, failing to build a functional and cohesive team, failing to make rounds
and not putting care first. In this deadly sins, I think, failing to make rounds is important because
even though, there are many responsibilities as an Administrator, but successful administrator gets
out from their office and check on the residents and employee to see if there s something they
want to share, or providing any kind of aid, that would give satisfaction to employee as well as
residents that way we can provide quality of care to our customer. Dr. Kim Lee, leadership
speech on the role of feedback as an Engaging and Engaged health leader has quite effective and
interactive at the same time. Her speech is one of the skills that Administrator needs to interact
with employee and residents. Giving feedbacks help to improve the behavior as well as creates the
healthy relations. Feedbacks don t always have to be negative, however, it can be turned into a
chance of improvement and

Analysis Of Nine Beginnings By Margaret Atwood
Why does someone write? What makes authors that we enjoy to read, feel inspired to sit in a deep,
state of self reflection. As they ignore others around them, and focus on their own imaginations in
monomaniac fashion ? Margaret Atwood s Nine Beginnings, attempts to answer the broad question
of, Why do you write? This is an essay where the author is having a conversation with herself and
contemplating her thoughts about writing. Atwood acknowledges that writing is a process that is
never ending, and a person needs self confidence of their ability to write, in order to be a proficient
writer. Margaret Atwood also believes that multiple accounts of failure are important for any
writer. A person learns from their mistakes and the writer s voice comes out more authentic to
who the person is due to adversity. Writing is a selfish act. The first goal for writing is to better
yourself, the writer who is wrestling with their emotions, life and thoughts. Reading and writing
are dependent on each other. Writers are inspired by what they have read, and they think of their
own lives and build upon their influences. Every writer must read, in order to gain knowledge of
what is inspirational for themselves and others, You learn to write by reading and writing,, writing
and reading. As a craft it s acquired through the apprentice system, but you choose your own
teachers. Sometimes they re alive, sometimes they are dead, (Atwood, Pg.201). This statement is

Will Grayson Letter To The Community
Will Grayson, Will Grayson, written by John Green and David Levithan, is a beautifully written
story about two teenagers named Will Grayson who are attempting to navigate the ups and downs
of their polar opposite lives, lives that turn into a intertwining roller coaster when the two meet.
First there is Will Grayson, John Green s Will Grayson. Don t care too much and shut up. Those
were the words that Will lived by, until one day he didn t. After a school board member made a fuss
about having a gay football player, Will decided to defend an old friend s right to play. He wrote a
letter to the school and signed his name, breaking his only two rules in life.

You ll laugh and you ll cry for your favorite characters, and you ll learn to overlook the flaws of
others (except for one character if you re like me). I guarantee that you ll fall in love with at least
one Will Grayson and hopefully not want to strangle the other; and you ll get to see them fall in
love as well.
As one of the few books with LGBT themes out there, it is really heartwarming to see how much
literature is diversifying. It is especially pleasing that, while the LGBT themes are very frequent
throughout the book, they aren t the whole story. To those who may not understand what I mean: it
is just nice to see representation in the background; it normalizes things. The same goes for a
central character having a mental illness but the mental illness not being the entire story. It shows
that we are not just one thing, not just one label, but that our lives are shaped by many aspects and
many people.
So whether you are here for the laughs or here to be introspective, this book will draw you in with
its interesting characters and creative style. With its alternating chapters, you will never get bored
with your Will/will. You will be turning the pages non stop, the pages that capture their messy and

Sam, You Are Receiving A Call
Sam, you are receiving a call, noted Dawn, sighing. Sam. Sam, you need to get up now. Wrapped
in all nine of her tails, Sam had no intention of getting up. By far, her favorite part of Quercasia,
at least in the mornings and at night, was how soft the beds were. For someone who had grown
up sleeping on top of stone with a little hay, the comfort of a bed was a luxury she adored.
Nonetheless, her roommate wasn t all too interested in her stillness. She had a mission, and that
mission was to get her best friend out of bed. Samantha? she asked one more time, If you don t get
out of bed, I will do something you won t like. I ll have you know that I have discovered how to

After having shoved half of a waffle drowning in maple syrup down her throat, she said her
goodbyes to Dawn and was out of the house. Heading off for the nearby trolley, she discovered
that she was standing in front of the training hall in only a matter of minutes. Anxiously stepping
into the building, she had no idea as to what would be happening. Other than the fact that Edgar
was there, which made the trip worth it for her, she was totally clueless as to what he was
planning. Needless to say, she stepped into the training hall anyway without a second thought.
Spying around the room, she found Edgar with his sword up, practicing his thrusts with a
dummy. He was able to make ten slices with his cutlass in five seconds, each slice perfectly
straight and parallel to the others. His technique was so perfect that he may as well have been
cutting plaid lines into the thing. S Sallo, Edgar? called out Sam. Edgar turned out, purring so
loudly that it could be heard from twenty feet away. Miss Sam! he called. You re here! Grinning,
she ran up to him, her tails flowing around like a sea anemone. Once the two finally met, they
embraced each other, happily sighing. Ever since Victor passed away, they had barely made
contact, but all of their worries melted away. It s so good to see you, Edgar... It s wonderful to see
you too, Miss Sam... he

Environmental Pollution In Honeybees
Effects of global warming and pollution in honeybees.
Pollination is one of the necessary processes to maintain global biodiversity along with nearly a
third of the universal food production sector (1). European honey bees are known as one of the
most significant pollinators in the western world but a decline in population management has been
shown over the years (5). Declines in honey bee populations not only caused by poor supervision
but can be attributed to pollution and combined effects of climate change (4). Intraspecific
communication amongst honey bees has been negatively impacted by factors such as pollution of
air (4), landscape alteration, the spreading of pathogens and agricultural intensification (5), along
with the extreme temperature variation (1). Plant fitness is affected by the diminishing levels of
volatile compounds which cause these pollinators to spend their energy ineffectively (4). Drastic
measures will need to be set in place in order to preserve this genetically rich species and to
maintain the ecosystems that are so valuable, not only for global biodiversity but for the multi
billion agricultural industries as well (1).
The honey bee is known for its genetic variability and plasticity in varying environmental conditions
(1). With temperatures changing, honey bees will have to adapt to new stressors such as plant
morphology, pesticides, harvesting capacity and floral ecosystem (1).
Looking at climate change trends, regions will be unable to

silicone based foundation. A silicone based foundation will make sure that your makeup doesn t
slide away even if you are under the hot humid summer. Also, it is best to pick lightweight
foundation as you don t want your makeup to get cakey. 4. Use a dampened makeup sponge:
Another amazing summer beauty hack to keep your makeup intact is to use dampened makeup
sponge. Wet your beauty blender and apply a small amount of foundation on it and swipe it on
your face. A damp sponge will give a dewy finish 5. Apply your foundation in criss cross strokes:
Another hack which makeup artists swear by is to apply foundation in a criss cross manner. All
you need to do is dab some foundation on your foundation brush and apply it on your face in
criss cross manner. This technique blends your makeup like a dream and when you sweat it
wouldn t give a streaky finish! How cool is that? 6. Try cream blush: Reserve your powder blush
for another season, as the summer season demands only cream blush. Cream based blush wouldn t

The Learning Potential Of E Books
In today s day and age, it is common knowledge that students possess different learning styles than
those of generations before them. In the essays by Marc Prensky Digital Natives, Digital
Immigrants (2001) and Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants Part II: Do They Really Think
Differently? (2001) the author clearly argues a need to adapt to students modern learning styles. In
Lotta Larson s The LearningPotential of e Books (2015) Larson also argues the clear benefits of
eLearning for today s students. Finally, is Naomi S. Baron s How E Reading Threatens Learning
is the Humanities (2014) a different approach is noted as eLearning could be argued as distracting

While I understand the purpose of quiet and isolated test taking, I find it horribly tedious and
counterproductive, as when I am filled with a room of background noise if you will, I am able to
hush my thoughts and focus on the task at hand. This is not just my personal experience of
learning, its scientific too! Prensky uses the topic Neuroplasticity to explain Based on the latest
research in neurobiology, there is no longer any question that stimulation of various kinds actually
changes brain structures and affects the way people think, and these transformations go on
throughout life. Does that not in fact support the argument that my brain has adapted to learning
in a technology rich environment? In essence students of this era are programmed to utilize the
tools they have adapted to using. But what, you might ask, are these tools? In Lotta Larson s The
Learning Potential of e Books the author brings up the topic of audiobooks. Audiobooks have the
benefit of helping readers listen to the proper pronunciation of advanced level vocabulary words.
For those with advanced reading skills, audiobooks allow students to take a moment and absorb
every word written. In Larson s words, The students strategically accelerated or decelerated the
narration speed and adjusted the font size of digit text to support their needs. I find with
controllable settings such as these, I can both easily absorb the curriculum and find it enjoyable in

The Importance Of Friendship In Of Mice And Men
Friendship is pointless. No matter what these relationships end in either tragedy or heartbreak, but
without them we are motiveless. Throughout the story of Of Mice and Men lots of relationships
are lost and lots are made, showing that although purposeless, we still need these friendships. In his
novel Of Mice and Men John Steinbeckuses indirect characterization to reveal how we as humans
are always in need of a companion for without them you will be lonesome and purposeless, but
these companionships prove to be fragile and you are prone to losing them.
Before any of the present events of the story took place Lennie was living with his Aunt Clara,
but began to travel with George once she died because without him he would have no purpose
and live a lonely existence. Lennie no longer had a mentor by his side, so he had no idea what to
do in any situation. George remembers when talking to Slim that: I turns to Lennie and says, Jump
in. An he jumps. Couldn t swim a stroke. He damn near drowned before we could get him. An he
was so damn nice to me for pullin him out. Clean forgot I told him to jump in. (Steinbeck 40)
This shows how Lennie was purposeless without anyone to tell him what to do. When George told
him to jump in the river he immediately does, ignoring the fact that he had no idea how to swim.
He didn t care that he would possibly die, he only cared that George told him to do it which is
much more important to him. When George went to save him from his

Dissecting Clarke s Cosmological Argument
Dissecting Clarke s Cosmological Argument
In the following paper, I will outline Samuel Clarke s Modern Formulation of the Cosmological
Argument and restate some of the points that he makes. Samuel Clarke s argument for the existence
of God states that There has existed from eternity some one unchangeable and independent being
(37). The argument follows a logical flow and can be better understood when the structure is laid
out and the argument reconstructed.
Clarke begins his argument with a use of disjunctive syllogism, a form of valid logical reasoning
that proposes two outcomes, denies one, and thus proves the other to be true. Clarke s premise
states that one of the two following statements must be true: either there has ... Show more content

He states that since the series of dependent beings couldn t be caused by any external or internal
source, that it would have to be cause absolutely by nothing . He then states that this is a
contradiction to be done in time; and because duration in this case makes no difference. He also
states that it is a contradiction to suppose it done from eternity. Since the universe has parts that
come into existence at one occasion and not another, it must have a cause. There could supposedly
be an infinite regress of causes if there was evidence for such, but lacking such evidence, God must
exist as the cause.Clarke does not specifically identify God at any point in his argument. He ends
with There must be on the contrary, of necessity have existed from eternity, some one immutable
and independent Being (37). Whatever one chooses to call this Being , it is the one unchangeable
and independent being that Clarke attempts to prove the existence of in his argument.

  • 2. Cancer Cell Comparison The cell cycle of a normal cell and a cancer cell have many similarities and differences. The main similarity is that both sets of cells undergo the four phases of the cell cycle: G1, S, G2, M. There are three checkpoints within the cell cycle that tell the cell to move to the next phase or die, but cancercancer cells do not obey the checkpoints. During the first phase, G1 phase, normal cells double in size and the number of organelles double as well. The G1 checkpoint ensures that proper doubling has occurred and allows cells to move forward to S phase. However, cancer cells that are too small or have too few organelles will not die. During the second phase, S phase, DNA replication (an identical copy of all the cell s DNA is made)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cancers that are associated with environmental risk factors have to do with where they spend most of their time (usually where they live). Some examples of cancers that can be passed on genetically are breast and ovarian cancer. The mutated genes of a parent can be inherited by their children causing them to get the same cancer. BRCA1 and BRCA2 are tumor suppressor genes that can be mutated to cause breast and ovarian cancers. Some examples of cancers caused by environmental factors are lung and skin cancer. People who smoke tend to get lung cancer because when they inhale cigarette smoke and there are chemicals in it that cause cancer. Radiation, specifically from the sun, can cause skin cancer because it damages the DNA in the cells, which causes mutations of the cells. According to a surgeon named Sanjiv Haribhakti, only 5 10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90 95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle. In other words people are more likely to get cancer due to environmental factors and not by inheriting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Weight Of Identification Essay The Weight of Identification What is light weight to the touch of a hand, but those who bear it around their neck feel the ultimate mass and value carried behind it? It is made up of a ball bearing chain that connects to another smaller chain holding a pair of two inch by 1 and 1/8 inch engraved metal plates. They make a very distinctive metal sound over the heart when the human body is in motion. Engraved upon these metal plates is someones name, followed by their blood type, social security number and religion. This is no ordinary necklace, this combination of chain and nickel copper alloy, is a pair of dog tags. Dog tags are given to recruits during the first few days of basic training. It solidifies the idea that the ones that have been lost in war, will live on forever and their duty is not just a mere statistic of casualties on the battlefield. The metal plates have been through it all, created by nickel and copper yet truly forged in blood sweat and tears. They have endured hardship though mud, sand and water, but if they are examined closely, the ordinary eye would notice that they are not completely damaged or disrupted.Dog tags represent hardship, and determination to never be broken or bent. They are often kept around the necks of veterans after their enlistment, in order to retain the memory of the family they were once adopted by; to keep the friends and the bonds created close to the heart. A veteran never forgets his or her fellow comrades, nor the drill sergeant from basic training that supplied each tag from the very beginning. Dog tags can symbolize the beginning of a new path for someone, but also the end. During the ceremony of a fallen service member, the tags are hung from the lower receiver of an M4 carbine. The helmet worn by that soldier rests peacefully atop of the stock of the weapon as the funeral detail renders a 21 gun solute, this is called the battlefield cross. Dog tags can be hung from rear view mirrors, around picture frames or worn by family members as well. In the National Veterans Museum in Chicago, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Wasted Time In High School Emily Sellers Composition 1301 332 Mrs. Kinkead 24 September 2017Wasted time in High School Public high schools tend to waste a lot of time in class doing things that aren t related to school at all. It has been reported that in many schools, teachers make students do chores for them for extra credit points, while others are learning new things. Jay Mathews wrote A startling waste of precious classroom time, published in 2014 in the Washington Post, and he argues that so much time is wasted in low income schools due to teachers and it makes it very difficult for students to learn in that environment. Mathews begins to establish pathos by stating the names of two girls that go to Compton High School and want to learn, but their school is unable to give them the education they desire. Mathews established ethos a little later in his article by stating facts about programs he has encountered with inner city schools; however, toward the end of his article, he uses facts to establish logos, which is the appeal of logic, while stating that schools have been sued because low income students have not been given the right education. Mathews explains that Wasting time is common in the nation s low income schools. Class schedules can be a mess at the beginning of the year, forcing students to wait days in the library for their assignments (Mathews). Mathews establishes ethos through stating the facts of wasted time in low income schools. Mathews states that at Compton High ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Effect of Visual Field Position and Type of Stimuli on... Abstract An experiment was conducted to test the effect of lateralization and congruency on reaction time to name colors. This was done using a computer program provided by The University of Mississippi. This effect is called the stroop effect. Results showed that it was neither lateralization nor congruency had a significant effect on reaction time, but the interaction of these two variables that created a significant change in the time needed to recognize colors. It is believed that this is due to the different hemispheric functions of the brain. Studies that are similar to this in nature help to better understand how the brain functions and it capabilities. The time to name congruent stimuli should be faster then the time to name incongruent stimuli. The time to name ink color will vary with both visual field position and type of stimuli. Time to name ink colors for congruent stimuli should not vary much with visual field but the time to name ink color of incongruent should increase as the stimuli gets color to the right visual field. Methods Participants This study contained a total of fifteen students from the University of Tampa s upper level psychology class. Thirteen of the participants were female and the remaining two were male. In addition to this class thirty six students from other classes were also used in this study. • 8. Analysis Of Animal Farm, By George Orwell Animal Farm was written by George Orwell in 1945. The book reflects events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then on into the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. Animal farm includes use of propaganda as well. A quote for example would be some animals are equal but some are more equal than others. I think that this book fits that quote very well as the author makes Napoleon along with Snowball are the leaders of the rebellion against Jones. A few questions that come to mind are, how does one define one animal being more equal than others? Why is a certain animal favored over the others? Why are there two leaders of the same animal and not two different ones? Why are two pigs picked as the leader? I feel that this book... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theme in Animal Farm can also be looked as people being equal, but some are more equal than others because sometimes that is how certain people see others. Just because they re different they don t get the same treatment as others. My argument is for everyone and every animal being equal. The leaders Napoleon and Snowball do not take the role in treating the other animals equally. Boxer, the horse works harder than anyone else and is not treated as well as the other animals. He was not first in the rate of intelligence, but he was university respected for his steadiness of character, and tremendous power of work. These are great qualities for a horse, but as it turns out not such great qualities for a revolutionary under Stalin s government. He works harder for others but still is treated unequally. His self motto is I will work harder. Comparing the animals to one another because they re different is like comparing a black human being with a white human being. They may look different from everyone else but does that mean they should be voted out of doing something because of it? No it does not. We as coaches have taken on a role of responsibility that means a lot to athletes, families and communities. Playing athletics of any sort will teach you many life lessons. But within any work force, you have to produce or make some form of progress. With that being said a major factor when it comes to coachingis, what do you value more? This is an ideal topic when talking about coaching and what is valued more In the clash of coaching philosophies in youth soccer winning vs development they talk about how the majority of the time the pressure to win comes from the parents and coaches that have limited knowledge. They stated that focusing too much on winning will hurt younger athletes as they get older. In our culture today they will praise the winners and no one remembers the losers. The article ultimately sums up that the coach s main goal should be the development of their players and winning later. After reading this article I find it very helpful on how it pertains to the topic of this paper. The point of this research is to find the drive that a coach has. This article mainly pointed out younger children in the sport of soccer and the concepts could clearly be used for any sport. As time has progressed the legal and ethical responsibilities of a coach can be tied into their title and how it affects their position. Rich Engelhorn of Iowa State University touched on many ideas that a coach has to take into consideration. He states a coach s legal duties are being knowledgeable, providing a safe environment, adequate supervision of athletes, etc. The ethical responsibilities of coach are but not limited to, encouraging development, participation, and most importantly; the goal is to win, but to win the correct way. That very solar system is special since it has seven planets that are very alike to our Earth. With the terrain being rocky and warm enough that it could support life on it. This discovery is the first time people have ever found that out that there are rocky planets that are orbiting a single star. Before we have the technology we have today, the only terrestrial planets we knew of being four planets. They named them TRAPPIST в‚Ѓb, в‚Ѓc and в‚Ѓd. Later, Gilion realized that the dip in brightness he thought came from в‚Ѓd was actually caused by three planets all crossing at the same time. They eventually realized that there were actually seven planets. The quote explains that all former three planets were orbiting their own star, which were caused in a dip of brightness that caused the planets to cross at the same time. All TRAPPIST planets orbit the same star, the line on which they orbit all move at the same times. They reach each starting point at the same time which is not really like other planets we have ever heard of before, mainly because the all of the planets in our solar system all move at their own speed. Information for this comes from paragraph one, it states that For years, scientists have found evidence that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is full of Earth like planets. • 12. The Economics of the iPhone The Economics of the iPhone Introduction The best selling Apple iPhone by any measure of financial and market performance is an unparalleled success. The Apple iPhone is credited with creating one of the most robust, extensive supply chain ecosystems globally today, fueling nearly $7B to $10B in ancillary products and services. Paradoxically even the success of the iPhone has done little to increase U.S. exports. Startlingly the Apple iPhone s success, according to a recent study, has actually fueled an even greater deficit in the U.S., making a significant contribution to the $1.9B deficit with China (Xing, Detert, 2011). This counterintuitive finding from the analysis of the researchers suggest that transaction velocity and supply chain coordination across global networks increase export surpluses not of the nation who company built the product, but the one that builds it (Xing, Detert, 2011). Analysis The pace of new product introductions combined with the exceptionally rapid growth of global supply chains and their performance have paradoxically put the United States in an ever more dependent condition with China and other trading partners. This in turn has created a high level of dependency on pricing and availability factors of production, which from an import and export standpoint, favor China significantly over the U.S. (Xing, Detert, 2011). In addition to these factors, the capital infusions from global investors are now favoring those multinational ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Did Christianity Change Over Time Christianity is far from what many might call a perfect and successful religion. Saying that it has been completely accepted, unchanged, and resolute since the beginning of the A.D. times would be false. Events like the murder of Christians within the gladiator games of the Roman Circus and the need to create the Edict of Milan show this clearly. Not only this but it has changed over time, as shown with the events of the Iconoclast Controversy between the Roman Orthodox and Catholic churches when differences in what should be allowed within the Christian worship. Christianityis not a successful, untouched religion. It was certainly not wholly welcomed at the time of Christ s birth , people have been persecuted and treated terribly for having that as their religion, and not everyone has accepted it as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Christianity began with the calling of Abraham and the founding of the Jewish nation. They eventually found their way to Canaan, remaining there peacefully until the kingdom was split into two. They soon later fell to the Assyrians. The Assyrians then in turn fall to the Babylonians, who are conquered by Alexander the Great. They essentially follow Rome through its existence and go into the age of the Byzantine Empire, the point in which Christians finally had a breakthrough and could start to practice their religion free of worry about being killed for it. If none of these events were to have happened, Christianity might not have had a chance to grow or start at all, even and it s massive influence upon the world would be lost. Prior to the rise of Christians, the world had been a primarily polytheistic place, and most wanted to keep it that way. This is one of the reasons that Christians faced so much prosecution in the beginning. That is, until the Edict of Milan is created by Constantine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Disease Classification Structures Disease Classification Structures Health care information systems cover a wide range of issues dealing with the supervision and use of biomedical information. Health information systems are central support tools in the administration of health care services. An acceptable health information system is important not only for evaluating the health needs of populations but also for preparation and for application of health interventions. It is equally imperative in the assessment of programs. The goal of information systems is to create an appropriate working environment. New diseases are being found yearly to even monthly, and every several years the classification of diseases needs to be updated, which can cause changes to the past and current classification. • 16. Descriptive Essay About Love Finding Love As I walk into the Homeward Animal Shelter for my dog walking shift, I think of the reason I began my weekly volunteering. I want to give love, in any way I can, to the animals who have been left by the ones they love. These animals that I spend an hour and a half with every Sunday need to know that someone loves them. That they have not been forgotten about and it gets better. After spending the summer with my aunt and uncle, I learned that. As I watched their newest rescue dog Snoop open up to me after 3 years and watching his mile stones. For a dog that was abandoned by his family and left on the street, bounced between the shelter and temporary homes, he has finally found permanent love in our family. Snoop s journey into our family began when his family abandoned him and his little chihuahua brother on the side of the road. They fended for each other for days until they were brought to the pound. From there they were separated. Where the little Chihuahua went is unknown, but Snoop, being a pure bread German Shepherd, was taken to Missouri German Shepherd Rescue (MOGS), a rescue center specializing in Shepherds. His white coat made him easy to love, but after the treatment of his last family he did not easily love others. Once Snoop had come out of his shell, not so sheepishly hiding from the shelter staff, he was moved into a foster home. Here in this foster home he started to become the dog my family knows today. To help Vara have a better understanding of the underlying issues and be confident to be able to manage after counselling, I would ask Vara to look at the ways she has previously achieved goals and the strategies she has used to get through difficult situations in the past and allow her to think about what has worked in the past and what hasn t worked. • 20. Compare And Contrast A Barred Owl And The History Teacher It s the dead of the night and the shrieking calls of a barred owl break the silence. A young child bolts upright in bed with fear written across her innocent face. A teacher s class is about to be taught a lesson on The Ice Age. The parents of the frightened child hush their daughter and say it was just an inquisitive owl that scared her awake. The teacher pulls on a sweater and says, Cavemen wore these a lot in The Ice Age. The children in these scenarios are the victims of deceit. Both poems, A Barred Owl and The History Teacher by Richard Wilbur and Billy Collins show the effects of not exposing children to the truth early on in life. Innocent minds deserve a healthy dose of reality provided in the form of truthful explanations from the adults in their lives. The poem, The History Teacher leans towards a more playful and bright tone than the tone Wilbur used in A Barred Owl. There are many reasons for the importance of landmark cases and the studying of such cases. Some of these reasons are to study how the judicial branch works, try to understand how decisions made in the judicial branch affects laws and everyday life, and predict how current issues and cases will be affected by past decisions (The Judicial Learning Center, 2012). There are many examples of Supreme Court cases that are considered to be a landmark, but one example is Texas vs. Johnson. Outside of the 1984 Republican National Convention in Dallas, Texas, many people protested President Ronald Reagan s policies. Among the protestors was one man named Gregory Lee Johnson. This man was so upset by the policies of the President that he burned an American flag in protest. By doing this, a statute in Texas was violated. This statute prevented the desecration of an American flag if it could possibly anger other people amongst the protest. Johnson was arrested and charged with this violation. He was later tried in court and convicted, but he made an appeal stating that by burning the flag he was expressing his rights of symbolic speech which are protected by the first amendment (uscourts.gov). Foreign Tax Credit The income earned by the U.S. individuals and corporations in the foreign countries or foreign source are taxed by the U.S. government, even though other countries also tax any income earned within their borders. To offset this double taxation of income by two different countries, the U.S. grants both individuals and corporations a foreign taxcredit (FTC) that can be used to offset income taxes assessed by a foreign country on the income earned there (Foreign Tax Credit, FTC, n.d.). The FTC is allowable for foreign income taxes and other similar taxes, such as excess profit and war profit taxes. However, only income taxes qualify for the credit. Analytical Analysis Of Frost At Midnight By Samuel Coleridge Analytical essay of Frost at Midnight by Samuel Coleridge People think that nature brings a sort of calmness, happiness or peace, which is why most people travel to places with beautiful sceneries, or build houses near beaches, or have a plant in their surrounding or even just a painting of a tree, flower or mountain. The importance of nature is subjective as it nature touches people in different ways. The poem Frost at Midnight, Samuel Coleridge, is a monolingual conversation between the speaker and his sleeping infant. It is written in blank verse, with little or no rhyme but in iambic pentameter. In this poem, the speaker emphasises the importance of nature by equating it to God, he also speaks about the ability of nature to create treasured memories, which he wants to use to plant himself in his child s future, therefore, he his rallying against modernization because of this. The speaker stresses the importance of nature by comparing it to God, he says that his child will be far from God because he will not be able to hear God s voice which apparently is, The lovely shapes and sounds intelligible / Of that eternal language... I believe that this comparison is quite different as most religions such as Christianity do not equate God with earth but instead suggests that God created earth (New International Version, Gen. 1.1). This sentence makes me think that God can mean different things to different people. • 34. Watson s Theory Of Human Caring Watson s Carative Factors According to Watson, the ten carative factors of her theory serve as core principles critical to the practice of human caring (Watson, 2012). Watson s theory provides an appropriate framework to help palliative care nurses promote positive outcomes in patients experiencing hopelessness. For example, one of Watson s carative factors encourages patients to promote negative feelings in order to strengthen the nurse patient relationship (McKay, Rajacich, Rosenbaum, 2002). Encouraging patients to vent feelings of hopelessness allows the nurse to provide the patient with proper support. Watson s Theory of Human Caring can be operationalized by demonstration of ten caritas factors in Watson s Caring Factor Survey.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nursing Definitions of hopelessness in nursing literature tend to vary. According to the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), hopelessness is a subjective state in which an individual sees limited or unavailable alternatives or personal choices and is unable to mobilize energy on own behalf, (2017, p. 466). NANDA s defining characteristics of hopelessness include, but are not limited to: passivity, lack of involvement in care, decreased appetite and decreased verbalization (2017, p. 466). The concept of hopelessness within the nursing context encompasses cognitive and emotional elements. In her research, Campbell identified four characteristics of hopelessness: negative future expectations, loss of control over future outcomes, passive acceptance, and emotional negativity (Campbell, 1987). Within the nursing context, hopelessness can also be viewed as lack of involvement in one s own care (Kylma, Duggleby, Cooper, Molander, 2005). Another prominent study in nursing, however, focusing on the dynamics of hope and hopeless in palliative care suggested that most of the terminally ill patients attributed their feelings of hopelessness to losses in the past (Olsman, Leget, Duggleby, Willems, 2015). Feelings of hopelessness can also be considered either state of being or a character trait (Dunn, 2005). Hopelessness can also be viewed independently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Federalists And Republicans After Washington s historic term as president, he warned in his farewell address to the American citizens against political parties and foreign affairs and encouraged them to unify as one republic. Despite Washington s advice to the nation, political parties and foreign affairs were yet established that divided the nation into two opposing factions: Federalists and Republicans. The Federalists, led mainly by Alexander Hamilton, were the citizens who favored the Constitution. Anti Federalists, on the other hand, were the citizens who opposed the ratification of the Constitution and sided with Jefferson to form the Democratic Republican Party. While Federalists envisioned America with a strong, complex, and centralized government, Republicans wanted America to remain a small federal government where states and local governments held the majority of the power. Many of the Federalist plans were centered around the idea of a strong, centralized government that was effective and organized in the way it ran. Those who were Federalists, generally, were people of professions and advocates of commercial interest. Alexander Hamilton, who led the Federalist Party, wanted to pay off the national debt by establishing a national bank, restoring trade with Britain, and encouraging American manufacturing through government tariffs in order to improve the economy after the American Revolution. • 39. Managing Workforce Training And Management For Economic... With the costs associated in maintaining a skilled workforce shooting up, it is crucial for organizations to adapt to the changing environments and make better informed decisions in terms of workforce training and management for economic survival (Kapp, 1999). Managing workforces involve both short term and long term decisions to determine the most effective practices and policies to close gaps and meet future workforce needs. While long term decisions deal with the overall composition of the workforce and the number of workers to hire or fire, short term decisions involve assigning workers to tasks often with an objective like meeting demand or cross training. The focus of this thesis is on short term scheduling models to assign workers to departments/tasks. Scheduling models, with certain exceptions, often fail to capture a realistic scenario within the mathematical model while assigning workers to tasks (Bruecker et al., 2015). Some of the key challenges faced by managers in real situations are worker heterogeneity, the effects of learning /forgetting and variation in demand. Both in production systems and service oriented industries, assuming that all workers are equally productive while there can be substantial differences in individual capabilities in the real world, could have a considerable effect on the realized performance of the production system. In his novel Of Mice and Men John Steinbeckuses indirect characterization to reveal how we as humans are always in need of a companion for without them you will be lonesome and purposeless, but these companionships prove to be fragile and you are prone to losing them. Before any of the present events of the story took place Lennie was living with his Aunt Clara, but began to travel with George once she died because without him he would have no purpose and live a lonely existence. Samuel Clarke s argument for the existence of God states that There has existed from eternity some one unchangeable and independent being (37). The argument follows a logical flow and can be better understood when the structure is laid out and the argument reconstructed. Clarke begins his argument with a use of disjunctive syllogism, a form of valid logical reasoning that proposes two outcomes, denies one, and thus proves the other to be true. Since the universe has parts that come into existence at one occasion and not another, it must have a cause. There could supposedly be an infinite regress of causes if there was evidence for such, but lacking such evidence, God must exist as the cause.Clarke does not specifically identify God at any point in his argument.
