Therapeutic Patterns In Genetic Analysis
The first thing that I would go through is the method to identify the QTL. Using molecular markers to
identify the presence or absence at certain lengths of DNA coupled with observed phenotypic data. In
order to obtain a QTL, markers methods described above are used in order to get information from
different locations within the target organisms chromosome. The organism in question has a DNA
sample taken from it. At the same time, the associated trait that you are interested in (such as disease
resistance) is tested for in the organism. Because of the differences between organisms and the
divergence of traits, a population is generally used in order to help determine the presence of the QTL.
Generally, a cross between a resistant and a susceptible individual for the trait is done, and the
population that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The LOD score is a measure of how much the trait is depicted by a certain marker. Having one or a
handful of locations that make up for the trait in question is important because it allows you to have a
better idea and a simplified method for determining whether the trait of interest is present. The
location is also vital, as it allows you to know where the trait of interest is located at. This is important
for two reasons. If you are trying to sequence the trait to get an idea of the protein structure, this gives
you the ability to know the base pair sequence, so you know what amino acids are coded and have an
idea of the protein structure. For a QTL cloning project, however, the location of the QTL or QTL s is
important because it lets you use molecular cloning techniques in order to copy the QTL from one
organism to another. Once you have the QTL s location, cloning techniques can be utilized in order to
transfer the QTL of interest. The techniques that I will talk about are gene cloning using a vector,
polymerase chain reaction, and gene

The Presidential Election Process
The presidential election process is a long and complicated procedure. Currently, we elect our
president and vice president by an indirect device known as the Electoral College. Under this system,
each state has as many electors as it has representatives and senators. Candidates who win a plurality
of the popular vote in a state secure all the states electoral votes. In order to win a presidential
election, a candidate must appeal successfully to the big states, such as California and Texas. Many
people are dissatisfied with our country s current election process. A candidate could win the popular
vote but lose the electoral vote, and thus lose the presidency. This method has led to a lot of
controversies and may eventually lead to election reforms. The primary is the first step in choosing a
party s presidential candidate. In most countries, the party picks the candidates. But in the US, voters
who declare support for one party or another gets to choose from the list of candidates. The
candidates, campaigning against other members of the same party, must win enough state primaries to
give them a majority of delegates at the party convention in the summer.
The first stage of a presidential campaign is the nomination campaign. At this time the candidate is
competing with other candidates in the same party, hoping to get ... Show more content on

Thousands of delegates gather to rally support for the platform and to nominate candidates for
president and vice president. From the 1820s until the 1930s, party conventions were boisterous
events in which determining a nominee could spark hot debate. By the mid 20th century, however,
primary elections had become the main way of selecting a nominee. After the convention, the second
stage of the presidential campaign begins the election campaign. In this stage, presidential candidates
from different parties compete against each

The Importance Of Meaning In The Monkey s Paw
Have you ever wanted to have three magic wishes that could get you anything you have ever wanted
or needed in life? Well, these people did and they got it but unfortunately for some of them they got
more than they wished for. Such as in The Monkey s Paw they asked for a simple very conservative
sum yet they got anything but that in return. And in the third wish Mr. Peter was very happy then
became very distraught by his first wish. Although these stories are the same in the three wishes they
are different in the overall mood and feeling of the story. Both, Mr. Peters and Mr. White were warned
of the extreme dangers of making these wishes it could even possibly cause them death. Which in The
Monkey s paw it did for the White family unfortunately

Biological And Environmental Factors On Human Behavior
The purpose of this paper is to provide evidence that nature and nurture play a formative role in
human development and behavior patterns. In other words, this paper aims to describe the impact of
biological and environmental factors on human personality traits and their behavioral tendencies. This
is important in terms of sociology which focuses on human and social behavior and why certain
individuals behave in a certain manner or do things in a distinct way. Understanding how nature and
nature influence human behavior helps to shed light on the varying degrees that an individual is
influenced by socialization, society, social norms, innate qualities, genetic traits and biological factors.
Keywords: Nature and nurture, Genes and environment, Human behavior, Social Norms
Proponents of the nature theory believe that a person s innate qualities are solely responsible for
determining their characteristics and behavioral traits. It is a known fact that physical characteristics
such as a person s eye color, hair texture, skin pigmentation and predisposition to certain chronic
diseases such as hemophilia, sickle cell disease and Turner syndrome are all linked to inherited genes.
The aforementioned facts have resulted in the belief that other human characteristics such as
personality attributes and behavioral patterns are engrained in our genetic makeup. In other words, an
individual is born with the propensity to engage in deviant acts or to act in

Descriptive Essay About Opera
On October 24th, 2017, I attended the dress rehearsal for La Traviata at The Winspear Opera House at
the AT T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, TX. The dress code was both formal and semi formal;
some people wore very elegant dresses while others wore slacks and a nice formal shirt. As I was
standing outside the venue making my way inside I noticed that most the people attending were either
high school or college students. The amount of people in attendance cannot be exactly calculated but
if I would have to guess it would have been over 500 people seated just in the grand tier section where
students were seated. There were several different performers with equally different voice parts. In
total, there were 12 listed singers in the booklet, two of those singers being sopranos, one mezzo
soprano, three tenors, three baritones, one bass baritone, and one bass singer. The three soprano
singers are: Georgia Jarman, Rachel Sterrenberg, and Abigail Levis. The three tenor singers are: René
Barbera, Brenton Ryan, and Brian Rosewell. The three baritone singers are: Vladislav Sulimsky,
Daniel Armstrong, and Bobby Tinnion. The two bass baritone singers are Dale Travis and Ryan
Kuster. Finally, the bass singer was Kyle Hancock. The solo dancers were Caradee Cline and Ricardo
Burgess and the conductor was Carlo Montanaro. There was also an orchestra playing throughout the
whole opera, I was only able to see and distinguish a few instruments. Instruments that I saw were:

NFL Football Salary Cap Analysis
The second and largest aspect of the White Settlement involves the salary cap. The cap represents a
specific amount of money which can be spent on player salaries will be a defined percentage of the
defined gross revenues (Mavris). This will create competitive balance across the league because it will
force all teams to abide by the same cap ceiling. Regardless of a teams value or demographic all teams
will have to spend the same amount on player salaries. The final aspect of the White Settlement
creates the concept of franchise and transition tenders. It states that all players with five years of NFL
playing experience whose contracts expire may negotiate and enter into contracts with NFL teams as
an unrestricted free agent. The franchise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also will drastically increase that player s salary. Franchises must be careful when applying the
franchise tag as it can be expensive and with the creation of the salary cap they must abide by a certain
total salary for all their players, and by placing the franchise tag on a certain player that player s salary
will become very expensive and its fully guaranteed. The transition designation is very similar to the
franchise designation. The White Settlement states, by tendering an offer of a one year contract at a
salary amounting to the greater of (1) the average of the salaries of the ten highest paid players at the
designated player s same position, or (2) a twenty percent increase in the designated player s previous
years salary (Mavris). The team applying the designation would retain exclusive negotiating rights
over that player, a key difference between a franchise and transition designation. The inclusive of the
White Settlement changed the direction of the NFL and allowed players to increase their salaries, but
also restricted large player movement from year to year. It also gave the team the ability to hold on to
their top players and be compensated for losing restricted free agents. The White Settlement changed
the landscape of the NFL has it moved forward into the 1990s and was instrumental in creating the
salary cap that continues to govern the NFL

Gps Limitations And Limitations Of Gps
. GPS Limitations Although already widely accepted and deployed, GPS has its inherent drawbacks
and limits which make GPS unsuitable in many scenarios. Those limitations include: Economics: The
price and energy cost of GPS components is usually much higher than its alternatives. Though some
GPS systems are inexpensive, cheap solutions may have significantly reduced quality. And it is
usually very energy consuming. For instance, GPS on smart phones consumes much large portion of
energy than other integrated sensing and communicating components. Even with the high cost, GPS
on consumer devices cannot provide desired performance. Accuracy: The accuracy of GPS is usually
not enough when small scale of space and fine grained location discrimination are considered,
especially on nonprofessional devices with poor quality. And due to its inherent large scale, GPS is
difficult to maintain and update, while in many scenarios, the space of interest for localizing is highly
dynamic. Speed and reliability: Mobile phone GPS users usually experience slow updating of their
locations. And since GPS requires LOS paths to satellites and stable signal coverage, GPS is not
practical or available in many cases. Thus, techniques assisting GPS with LPS components have
received many attentions from both industry and academia in recent years. An approach widely used
on mobile phone navigations is cellular networking based localization. The global deployment and
general availability of cellular

Ionic And Iodinated Contrast Media
Ionic, iodinated IV contrast is a contrast agent that is commonly used in radiology today. Most of the
time iodinated contrast agents are used intravenously. Iodinated contrast agents contain iodine as the
translucent element and other chemical components that make up its chemical structure. The parent
structure that the contrast agent is from a carboxyl group in the form of benzoic acid, to which other
chemical components or side chains are attached (Bontrager, 2014). Ionic, iodinated contrast media
holds a positively charged side chain element called the cation. The cation is a salt, usually consisting
of sodium, meglumine, or a mixture of both. These salts increase the solubility of the contrast media
and make them have higher osmolality (Bontrager, 2014). The purpose of using ... Show more content

The dose required for procedures using iodinated contrast material, usually depends on the weight of
the patient; but generally, the average dose usually ranges from up to 1.5ml/kg body weight to 5 ml/kg
body weight. For myelography about 10 ml is used (Bontrager, 2014). Some common side effects that
may occur with using iodinated contrast material are sudden hot flashes, itching, headache, nausea and
vomiting, which are considered minor reactions. More severe reactions concise of Anaphylactic
Shock, Severe Bradycardia, difficulty breathing, cardiac arrest, swelling, low blood pressure, and
convulsions (Neubrander, 2015). Some contraindications for the administration of iodinated IV
contrast, are renal insufficiency, Congestive heart failure, pregnancy, Sickle cell anemia, Diabetes,
Patients on certain diabetic medications like Metformin, and allergic reactions to iodine or contrast

Three Influential Characters to Vahan Kenderian
Everyone is a product of past experiences, Vahan Kenderian is no different. Vahan was a twelve year
old child from a wealthy Armenian family living in Bitlis, Turkey during the Armenian genocide in the
early 1900 s. Within a two day span, Vahan s life begins to fall apart, his father is taken away from
him, two of his brothers are killed in front of him, his grandmother is also killed, and his sister kills
herself. Vahan and his older brother fortunately escape, but are forced to abandon their mother and
sister. Vahan then begins his journey to flee to Constantipole. During his journey, he encounters many
people along the way who teach him life lessons. Firstly, his father Sarkis Kenderian gives strength
and guidance to Vahan. Secondly, Ara Sarkisian the coppersmith teaches Vahan that home is not made
of materialistic things, it is a feeling and time takes away everything. Lastly, Selim Bey advises Vahan
to worry about himself, and to pick and choose his friends carefully. Therefore, Sarkis, Ara and Selim
teach Vahan the most through their interactions and change his character for the better.
Vahan s father is a huge influence and inspiration for him. Vahan aspires to be just like his father
wanted him to be, strong, determined, and proud. As much as his father s words haunt him, they also
inspire Vahan to continue moving forward. When Vahan and Sisak are in trouble they recite

DeLauro ran for the open seat and defeated Republican State Senator Thomas Scott 52% to 48%. She
has never faced another election so close, and has been reelected twelve times, never going below
63% of the vote. This past election in 2016, DeLauro was up against Republican candidate Angel
Cadena, but DeLauro was re elected with 69% of the vote. It is very clearly shown by certain
controversial topics that Rosa DeLauro is a liberal or has liberal idealism. To start with DeLauro is pro
choice and believes that anybody can have an abortion for absolutely any reason. Rosa DeLauro s
interest group ratings include the following: ADA (Americans for Democratic Action) (2006, Liberal)
is 100%, ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) (2011 2012, Liberal) is 100%, ACU (American
Conservative Union) (2010, conservative) 0%, FDR (Family Research Council) (2013, conservative)
is 0%, and the CC (Christian Coalition) (2014, conservative) is 0%. We can see from political issues
and from both conservative and liberal interest groups that Rosa DeLauro is as liberal as they come.

The Medicines Of Medieval Medicine And The Black Death
Medieval Medicine
Medieval Medicine was basic in an era when terrible illnesses such as the Black Death were killing
nearly one third of the population. No one had any idea what caused illnesses and diseases, such as the
Black Death. There were no antibiotics or vaccines thus it was almost impossible to cure illness and
diseases.
Bloodletting was a popular method of restoring a patient s health and humors . Early surgery, often
done by barbers, occurred without anaesthesia.
Often medicines were made from herbs, spices and resins. The medicine was applied in drinks, pills,
washes, baths, rubs, poultices, purges and ointments. Which sometimes themselves contained fatal
ingredients.
Medicine used to treat some specific illnesses
Medieval Medicine to treat the Black Death
The Black Death held a mortality rate of between 30 and 40 per cent. Victims had no idea what had
caused the disease. And neither did the doctors in Medieval Times. The Black Death was treated by
lancing the buboes and applying a warm poultice of butter, onion and garlic. Various other remedies
were tried including tobacco, arsenic, lily root and even dried toad.
Medieval Medicine to treat Headache and Aching joints
Head pains were treated with sweet smelling herbs such as rose, lavender, sage, and bay. A mixture of
henbane and hemlock were applied to aching joints. Coriander was used to reduce a fever. Medieval

The system is updated regularly by the US government and hence is very advance.
This is the best navigating system in water as in larger water bodies we are often misled due to lack of

Disadvantages of GPS:
Sometimes the GPS may fail due to certain reasons and in that case you need to carry a backup map

Voting Rights Of The United States Essay
Voting Rights in America Since the creation of the United States of America, providing freedom and
opportunity has shown to be the most essential factor that makes the country a desirable place to call
home. However, certain rights have not been preserved for every citizen in society. In the aftermath of
the recent presidential election, the citizens of this country are beginning to realize the importance of
voicing their opinion and exercising the right to vote. Unfortunately, this country has yet to fully
provide equal opportunity for the people it vowed to protect, especially when it comes to voting.
Voting rights are still clearly under attack in our country and intentionally impact those who are of
color and/or who are disadvantaged as well as women and those with disabilities. To begin, the history
of past voting rights is not one that is pretty. For a majority of the early elections in the country, the
only citizens that could vote were white, male property owners. People of color did not receive this
right until far into the future. Alexander Keyssar, the writer of the book, The Right to Vote: The
Contested History of Democracy in the United States, discusses that rights were well overdue for
many Americans. Keyssar states, African Americans could not vote in the South, Asian immigrants
were disenfranchised because they could not become citizens, and Native Americans lacked the right
to vote for more often then they possessed it (Keyssar xx). Although this seems

Madoff Ponzi Scheme And Whistleblowers

their homework before trusting any other business with their money. Fairfield Greenwich Group

Fairfield Greenwich assured their e clients that they did their due diligence by thoroughly researched
Madoff by learning about their managers, operational practices, staff, and infrastructure. The group

Katy Perry Unconditionally Analysis
Music Essay
Have you ever been listening to the radio and a really good song comes on? When this happens to me,
I pause for a moment to gather my breath before I belt out each lyric with perfect tone deftness. One
of these songs is Katy Perry s Unconditionally , and I am going to argue that is better than her other
songs, such as Waking Up in Vegas , for the following three reasons. First, the music is more complex
than her usual upbeat pop style. Second, Katy Perry sounds more mature and beautiful in
Unconditionally , but comes off as silly and girly in Waking Up in Vegas . Finally, the overall message
of Unconditionally is more deep, and is more meaningful than Waking Up in Vegas s message.

Perry sounds more mature and beautiful in Unconditionally , but comes off as immature and worldly
in Waking Up in Vegas , this makes Unconditionally the better song. We all see Katy Perry as the girl
who writes fun little flirty songs, styles startling clothes to her concerts, and wears teenage like
makeup. This is why her song Unconditionally is quite interesting. The Fashion Journalist says Meant
to be a montage of beautiful images, I treated it like a fashion editorial. Each frame was its own
cinematic moment. Each dress told a story. (Anonymous) In the music video, there are more vintage
styles of clothing (ex. Ball gowns, tuxedoes), and the entire video is in muted colors. The set of the
music video is that of an old throne room, complete with crystal chandeliers. In this, Katy Perry has
almost black hair and wears more subtle makeup. The key is contrast, according to Christie Wilcox of
You: Beauty, The darker the facial features in relation to the skin tone, the more feminine a face
appears. (Wilcox) Because Katy Perry wears darker lipstick and eye shadow, it contrasts with her pale
skin, making her look more feminine and more like an adult, and less like an adult trying to look like a
teenager. In Waking Up in Vegas music video, Katy Perry wears a lot of shimmery bright make up in
the tones of that either an eighth grader or elderly grandmother would wear. She also is outfitted in

Cahokian Chief Research Paper
The Cahokian Chief is a ruler of our Mississippian civilization. The political structure that Cahokia
operates under is a chiefdom in which the chief is a hereditary leader over a group of towns.
Chiefdoms are based on the communal culture of gift giving and commercial links and trade routes
and this is what supports our city. The chief has the most power over us he controls our land and
economy and the rest of us are considered subordinate to our chief. A part of the chief s job is to
organize us through different obligations such as tribute, shared labor, and rituals. We tend to the
fertile land, which provides us with an abundance of maize, beans, and squash. The land is so fertile
along the Mississippian river where we live; we attribute the abundance of maize to our corn goddess.
The agriculture we tend to is delivered to the chief and to neighboring communities whether it is a gift
or a debt. The chief is so powerful that most of the communities nearby tend to owe our chief tribute
or to pay off a debt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

directions. We practice a spiral snake dance, and it is related to the changing seasons or solstices. The
chief is the closest to the gods because he lives atop of the mounds in a temple, which is a testimony
to his power over us as well as the respect we have for him as the most powerful and elite member of
Cahokia. Separate from the elite, the rest of us live in wooden huts because we are not related to or as

Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone
Though plays have been a form of entertainment for thousands of years, the late 19th Century saw the
invention of a new kind of medium; the motion picture.[1] Since then, comparisons between a film
and the novel it was based upon have become mainstay. Amazingly, ardent fans of a particular novel
can become polarized when the material is changed in any fashion or perceived in a different sense
than the reader imagined. Thus, Book to Film Adaptation Analysis are commonplace in today s society
and ripe with the energetic opinions of the consumer. Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone was a
novel written by J.K. Rowling and published by Bloomsbury in 1997.[2] It is the first book in a series
and proved immensely successful having won most of the British book awards that were judged by
children and other awards in the United States.[3] It quickly topped the New York Times best seller

Rowling had sold the film rights to the first four Harry Potter books to Warner Brothers.[5] Harry

When someone is seriously harmed by a medical professional to the point where they will be damaged
for the rest of their life, they deserve to be compensated, especially if the person is a dependent and
will need lifelong care. A serious example of this problem is the case of a couple in Nebraska whose
son was born with cerebral palsy due to negligence by their obstetrician. When the case went to trial,
the monetary value assessed for taking care of their son for the rest of his life was six million dollars,
and the jury awarded them 5.6 million. However, the cap on all damages, both economic and
noneconomic, is 1.25 million, so that was the amount of money the couple received (Hot Coffee). This
is a problem for two reasons: caps limit the jury s ability to make a fair decision based on the trial, and
the lack of money paid out by the doctor s insurance will have to be covered by taxpayers later. The
point of a jury is to allow a panel of peers to judge a person s case and give a worthy compensation in
the civil justice system, and caps take this away from the jury. The son will now be taken care of by
Medicaid and Social Security money, which ultimately comes out of tax payer s pockets, leaving
citizens responsible for something the insurance companies should have covered. This is exactly what
insurance companies want, and they will continue to ensure they pay out as little money as

Analytical Essay On The Movie Selma
The United States of America, a country viewed by many as glorious and opportunistic, endured
moments in history that shall never be forgotten. Since the beginning of the Civil War in the 1800s,
the act to end slavery was gruesome and horrifying. A war was fought between the free and slave
states to eradicate slavery in the country for ever. In the year 1865, slavery was abolished, nonetheless,
the evil in many Confederate cities and states was still alive. Selma is a breath taking movie about
Martin Luther King Jr. and his fight against this evil. With death threats sent to his home, and his own
followers beaten by troopers, Dr. King never backed down. Having the right to vote is exceedingly
vital in having a voice in the government, and the kinds of laws and bills that should be passed. In the
beginning of this movie, an African American woman prepares her documents to be allowed to vote.
When she hands the documents to the white worker, he begins questioning the woman. His main
incentive is simply not give her the right to vote. The movie states that fifty percent of Selma is
African American, however, merely two percent are allowed to vote. It is the power held by white
officials that denied their vote. Many people took to the streets to peacefully protests this injustice and
inequality that loomed in the system. As stated both in the movie and the New York Review article,
people have suffered and died for the right to vote. For instance, a young man named Jimmie

Dichotomy
Investigation:
The Dichotomy or also Achilles and Tortoise Paradox: Introducing the first paradox Achilles and the
Tortoise . This paradox is very similar to the idea of the Dichotomy so by explaining the example of
Achilles and the Tortoise both will be covered. Zeno came up with the idea of the Dichotomy, which
means dividing by two. As an example for this he came up with the example of a character called
Achilles. One day Achilles and a tortoise had a speed race against each other. Obviously the tortoise is
much slower to Achilles was so modest to allow him to have a head start of 100 meters. As Zeno and
Aristoteles says, when the race starts Achilles has to catch up with the tortoise so he sprints. While this
is happening he is halving the distance towards the tortoise. There is no problem here because
assuming no acceleration or deceleration, he is always going to half the distance as shown on this
picture:
Assuming that Achilles is running at 10meters per second (m/s) one can logically say that ... Show

As with Achilles and a tortoise this one even further stresses the idea that motion is just an illusion. In
this example Zeno assumes that time, in his definition, is only made up of a series of moments . In this
paradox one arrow, just a regular arrow, has been shot or is just simply in motion. Zeno himself states
that with his paradox, no motion is occurring while the arrow is in motion. This is because he assumes
that for each instance of time, which can be broken up into small intervals as defined earlier by him,
no movement occurs. Again explaining this more in detail, he is saying that because of all these
moments occurring and being able to divide these up into smaller intervals which then ultimately lead
to the point where the arrow is not moving at all because time has moments and no movement occurs
in that moment of time. This is why Zeno claims that the arrow is not moving at

Wnba Players Case Study
It s no secret that WNBA players are grossly under paid in comparison to NBA players. This article
will truly show you how bad this wage gap is. Sylvia Fowles is the reigning WNBA MVP and a huge
contributor for the Minnesota Lynx (2017 champs). Just to give you some numbers of what exactly
she did last season, she had the top field goal percentage, second in rebounds per game, second in
blocks per game and overall the fifth leading scorer in the league. Sylvia got paid an estimated
$109,000 this past year with certain small bonuses coming in for being a top performer. In
comparison, Kevin Durant, the reigning 2016 2017 NBA MVP made an estimated $26.54 million,
with bonuses of course. How can it be 2018 and the top WNBA players only make a fraction

The Responsibility Of Being A Project Manager
Taking on the responsibility of being a project manager can be multidimensional and very demanding
but rewarding at the end. The roles of a project manager has the total responsibility for the successful
planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a project. After a project manager take on a
tasks that s has been assigned to him/her from a client, the job is just beginning. They must first
understand and have general knowledge about the task that has been put in their hand. The mission
starts with assembling an all star team that will be able to assist you in every aspect as the project go
along, next, the project manager and selected team should start piecing together a strategy that
correlates with the project schedule to ensure every deadline will be made on or before time, also
enforce strong communication throughout the project, and set milestones and follow up at each
interval to assess the progress at every phase until the project is complete. A project manager must be
dedicated to the project assigned from beginning to end. It will consume a lot of your time, but you
will be overjoyed with a successful project at the end and say it was all well worth the stress, long
days and sleepless nights.
Being a project manager means you have to be able to keep up in a fast pace environment often filled
with conflicting deadlines that takes precedence over your personal endeavors. There will be times
when you think you have everything under control, but

The Influence Of Stereotyping
When we first meet a new person, we are all guilty of creating judgements and stereotypes based on
things such as culture, appearance, and initial personality. Someone meeting me for the first time
would likely judge my culture by labeling me as white, a country girl, a Christian, Midwestern, and a
blonde. Individual stereotypes they would initially give me might include, young, quiet, mature,
weird, and caring. Stereotyping can be found all around us. It is constantly in the media, including the
Internet, television, and movies. Family and friends certainly influences our initial thoughts about
others, too. The people that we spend time with and trust are often those that we tend to reflect. For
example, I come from a pretty welcoming family, so I tend to be open when I meet new people. ...

Halothane Case Study
This paper briefly touches on a case study by a nursing assistant student who is assisting with an
anesthesiologist that she is shadowing. The student was asked to monitor vitals during a knee surgery.
The patient was given Halothane and the surgery began. After two hours in surgery, the patient, who
was a young athletic female named Sharon Riley, began to show signs of distress. This patient s
temperature elevated to 105 °F and pulse began to rise up to 120 bpm, and her blood pressure began to
drop down to 60/56 mmHg. This triggers the monitors alarm because normal vitals for this patient
were a temperature of 98.6 °F, 75 bpm pulse and blood pressure of 105/60 mmHg. This causes the
doctors to react quickly and begin to assess what is wrong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Describe the pathophysiology. It is possible that the Halothane triggered a genetically predisposed
condition called Malignant hyperthermia (MH) in the patient Sharon who was having surgery on her
knee. Sharon presented with symptoms 2 hours after administration of inhaled Halothane. She had a
temperature that elevated to 105 degrees, increased heart rate of 120 bpm and low blood pressure of
60/56. All of these symptoms are abnormal for this patient but can be signs of the condition MH. This
condition can be triggered by exposure to volatile inhaled anesthesia drugs like Halothane and signs
can be seen during surgery or shortly after surgery (library book, pg510). MH alters the calcium
channel in the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) and this allows large quantity of calcium to be released
from the SR creating hyper action in skeletal muscle; this reaction increases oxygen consumption and
increased heat production that ultimately leads to a hypermetabolic state after the inhaled Halothane
has triggered the condition (Knies). The continuous elevation of calcium also causes excessive
stimulation of anaerobic glycolytic metabolism. This creates respiratory and metabolic acidosis,
rigidity (muscle contractions), and hyperkalemia (elevated potassium) and can ultimately lead to death

Choosing the Best Tactical Flashlight
h1 Choosing the Best Tactical Flashlight /h1
One of the most important steps in self defense and gun safety is knowing your target s location and
what is beyond and in front of it. Not practicing this vital step can result in severe injury or even the
accidental death of an innocent person. However, it can be extremely difficult to practice this in a dark
area. That is why tactical flashlights have become so popular with gun owners. They re not only useful
for illuminating the area that you re trying to protect, but they can also be so bright that they can
temporarily blind or stun the threat. If you want the best tactical flashlight for your gun, focus on these
important aspects while shopping.
h2 Selecting Type /h2
There are typically two types of tactical flashlights available for nearly any gun. These types are
hunting and military tactical flashlights. Their purposes are quite clear as the hunting flashlight is
more for hunting while the military one is more for combat purposes, but you don t have to focus on
those specific aspects to make your choice. You should weigh the specific features of each flashlight
instead.
h3 Hunting /h3
Tactical flashlights meant for hunting are very straightforward. They re meant to illuminate large areas
and possibly blind or stun certain prey for an easier shot. These flashlights don t have any other real
options besides a changing light color and brightness control, but they re very useful for hunting
purposes. If you re

Compare And Contrast St. Thomas Aquinas
St. Thomas Aquinas was a philosopher that believed he was bounden to save people and not destroy
them. However, his father tried to persuade him to become a lawyer, which of course he didn t want to
be. St.Thomas Aquinas was one that believed in the Natural Law Theory. This helped him create the
eight essential features in what living things exhibit. St.Thomas is one that believes one s soul makes a
person. There are civil laws that help him explain what a natural law is. All of this leads back to the
main question which is, How do we determine if something is moral, right or just?
St. Thomas s starting point for ethics began with Aristotle. He attended Plato s Academy and
structured his ideology from him. Thomas admired Plato but preferred Aristotle s word. Even though
they didn t have his exact words they asserted his learnings from the books he wrote. The reason why
St. Thomas didn t follow Plato s words and ideas was because he found problems in Plato s
philosophy. He had a difficult time trying to prevail with this social contract theory. The social
contract theory exhibits only moral obligation, it is a signed/ unsigned contract that isn t written out
and physically signed however it is structured on the concept of what is expected for you to do. Plato
confides his thoughts to how human beings exist in society. St. Thomas is similar in indicating these
ideas, he wants to show how human beings exist based on their natural environment. This method is

The Domino Theory
Isolationism to involvement is a major shift, especially when fighting in or entering The Great War or
World War II. Although the United States had not entirely disengaged itself from foreign affairs
following World War I, it had remained largely divorced from events occurring in Europe until the late
1930s. Concurrently, World War II forced the United States to involve itself once again in European
affairs, which thus resulted in them being the most powerful nation in the world. (787) At the end of
World War I, the United States sought to develop many new international relationships so that the start
of any new war would be nearly impossible in the future. (817) One of which included a permanent

(827) They wanted to make sure they prevent the expansion of a hostile country and its influence.
Specifically, the United States wanted to keep communism from spreading beyond the countries
already under its influence. Ultimately, this was considered to be known as the domino theory, a
theory that would lead other countries to give in to communism one by one like a chain of dominos
toppling one another. (827) The policy applied to the world that had become divided due to the cold
war, which was a struggle between the United States and the Soviet Union. In 1947 after Great Britain
announced they could no longer afford the cost of supporting government militaries, the United States
proposed the Truman Doctrine. The Truman Doctrine offered support to Greece and Turkey in the
form of financial assistance, weaponry, and troop to help train their militaries and strengthen their
governments against communism. (827) Simultaneously, the Marshall Plan was a program giving
billions of U.S dollars to aid European countries to prevent from turning to communism. The
American dream was clear and they were doing what they had to do that make the dream come true.
They wanted to end communism while spreading peace and prosperity to all in the nation and that is
exactly what happened with the help of these policies. Over time many argued about whether the U.S
policy was always based on the same ideas or if it shifts over

JRR Tolkien and the Twentieth Century Essay
The early twentieth century saw an upheaval of normal life in Europe because of the Great War and
the changing political and social systems. In the midst of this time, JRR Tolkien found himself
transformed from a young student at Oxford to a soldier in the British army as war broke out across
the continent. This war affected his life deeply, whether indirectly while he was at Oxford or through
his time in the trenches in direct combat. As a dedicated academic, however, Tolkien never abandoned
his passion for languages and mythology but used his experiences to bolster his own writings and
creative pursuits. One of the largest influences on Tolkien s life was through his experiences at
Oxford. There, he met his closest friends who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, this extensive time and companionship with only men is clearly seen in the relationships in
The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien, never exposed to colleagues who were women, only formed strong
ties with other men in the academics that dominated his life. Throughout Tolkien s trilogy, a reader
finds few strong female characters, but a great emphasis on lasting male companionship. Examples
such as Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf, Sam and Frodo, and Merry and Pippin demonstrate friendships
that were not stopped by borders or any challenge of life. Moreover, Tolkien s friends were primarily
occupied with talking, drinking, smoking, and walking all characteristic activities of the hobbits of
Middle Earth. Even before he was seriously developing the trilogy that would create a new genre of
literature, he gathered experiences that would be models for his created world. Once the Great War
began, Tolkien described it as a collapse of all my world. Even Oxford, the place he had always
depended on to stay safely hidden in his studies, had been breached. Refugees flooded in to use the
space, quickly draining of young men eager to fight, as a camp for safety and other war readiness
efforts. Tolkien avoided the 1915 draft for as long as he could manage because he was recently
engaged, but was sent to fight in northern France within a few months. Tolkien was not in combat for
long; after several months he came down with trench fever from lice in his clothing passing

The Portrayal Of Jesus In Death Valley
Although this is true this story contains many a violence in it. This film begins in the regin of Herod
the Great, who died in 4BC. Told by three magi a new king has been born, thus causing a mass murder
of local children by the hands of Herod. This massacre only takes place in the book of Matthew s, and
does not seem to be aforementioned in any non biblical sources. Johns gospels seem to Imply that
Jesus was born in Nazareth and not in Bethlehem. This doesn put the film off though. Herod send a
group of black clad horsemen to slaughter a group of wide eyed infants on a playground. Even if the
massacre did happen, the staging here owes a lot more to Sergei Eisenstein than to the Bible. Jesus

  • 2. Therapeutic Patterns In Genetic Analysis The first thing that I would go through is the method to identify the QTL. Using molecular markers to identify the presence or absence at certain lengths of DNA coupled with observed phenotypic data. In order to obtain a QTL, markers methods described above are used in order to get information from different locations within the target organisms chromosome. The organism in question has a DNA sample taken from it. At the same time, the associated trait that you are interested in (such as disease resistance) is tested for in the organism. Because of the differences between organisms and the divergence of traits, a population is generally used in order to help determine the presence of the QTL. Generally, a cross between a resistant and a susceptible individual for the trait is done, and the population that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The LOD score is a measure of how much the trait is depicted by a certain marker. Having one or a handful of locations that make up for the trait in question is important because it allows you to have a better idea and a simplified method for determining whether the trait of interest is present. The location is also vital, as it allows you to know where the trait of interest is located at. This is important for two reasons. If you are trying to sequence the trait to get an idea of the protein structure, this gives you the ability to know the base pair sequence, so you know what amino acids are coded and have an idea of the protein structure. For a QTL cloning project, however, the location of the QTL or QTL s is important because it lets you use molecular cloning techniques in order to copy the QTL from one organism to another. Once you have the QTL s location, cloning techniques can be utilized in order to transfer the QTL of interest. The techniques that I will talk about are gene cloning using a vector, polymerase chain reaction, and gene ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Presidential Election Process The presidential election process is a long and complicated procedure. Currently, we elect our president and vice president by an indirect device known as the Electoral College. Under this system, each state has as many electors as it has representatives and senators. Candidates who win a plurality of the popular vote in a state secure all the states electoral votes. In order to win a presidential election, a candidate must appeal successfully to the big states, such as California and Texas. Many people are dissatisfied with our country s current election process. A candidate could win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote, and thus lose the presidency. This method has led to a lot of controversies and may eventually lead to election reforms. The primary is the first step in choosing a party s presidential candidate. In most countries, the party picks the candidates. But in the US, voters who declare support for one party or another gets to choose from the list of candidates. The candidates, campaigning against other members of the same party, must win enough state primaries to give them a majority of delegates at the party convention in the summer. The first stage of a presidential campaign is the nomination campaign. At this time the candidate is competing with other candidates in the same party, hoping to get ... From the 1820s until the 1930s, party conventions were boisterous events in which determining a nominee could spark hot debate. By the mid 20th century, however, primary elections had become the main way of selecting a nominee. After the convention, the second stage of the presidential campaign begins the election campaign. Well, these people did and they got it but unfortunately for some of them they got more than they wished for. Such as in The Monkey s Paw they asked for a simple very conservative sum yet they got anything but that in return. And in the third wish Mr. Peter was very happy then became very distraught by his first wish. Although these stories are the same in the three wishes they are different in the overall mood and feeling of the story. Both, Mr. Peters and Mr. White were warned of the extreme dangers of making these wishes it could even possibly cause them death. • 5. Biological And Environmental Factors On Human Behavior The purpose of this paper is to provide evidence that nature and nurture play a formative role in human development and behavior patterns. In other words, this paper aims to describe the impact of biological and environmental factors on human personality traits and their behavioral tendencies. This is important in terms of sociology which focuses on human and social behavior and why certain individuals behave in a certain manner or do things in a distinct way. Understanding how nature and nature influence human behavior helps to shed light on the varying degrees that an individual is influenced by socialization, society, social norms, innate qualities, genetic traits and biological factors. Keywords: Nature and nurture, Genes and environment, Human behavior, Social Norms Proponents of the nature theory believe that a person s innate qualities are solely responsible for determining their characteristics and behavioral traits. It is a known fact that physical characteristics such as a person s eye color, hair texture, skin pigmentation and predisposition to certain chronic diseases such as hemophilia, sickle cell disease and Turner syndrome are all linked to inherited genes. The aforementioned facts have resulted in the belief that other human characteristics such as personality attributes and behavioral patterns are engrained in our genetic makeup. In other words, an individual is born with the propensity to engage in deviant acts or to act in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Descriptive Essay About Opera On October 24th, 2017, I attended the dress rehearsal for La Traviata at The Winspear Opera House at the AT T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, TX. The dress code was both formal and semi formal; some people wore very elegant dresses while others wore slacks and a nice formal shirt. As I was standing outside the venue making my way inside I noticed that most the people attending were either high school or college students. The amount of people in attendance cannot be exactly calculated but if I would have to guess it would have been over 500 people seated just in the grand tier section where students were seated. There were several different performers with equally different voice parts. In total, there were 12 listed singers in the booklet, two of those singers being sopranos, one mezzo soprano, three tenors, three baritones, one bass baritone, and one bass singer. The three soprano singers are: Georgia Jarman, Rachel Sterrenberg, and Abigail Levis. The three tenor singers are: René Barbera, Brenton Ryan, and Brian Rosewell. The three baritone singers are: Vladislav Sulimsky, Daniel Armstrong, and Bobby Tinnion. The two bass baritone singers are Dale Travis and Ryan Kuster. Finally, the bass singer was Kyle Hancock. The solo dancers were Caradee Cline and Ricardo Burgess and the conductor was Carlo Montanaro. The cap represents a specific amount of money which can be spent on player salaries will be a defined percentage of the defined gross revenues (Mavris). This will create competitive balance across the league because it will force all teams to abide by the same cap ceiling. Regardless of a teams value or demographic all teams will have to spend the same amount on player salaries. The final aspect of the White Settlement creates the concept of franchise and transition tenders. It states that all players with five years of NFL playing experience whose contracts expire may negotiate and enter into contracts with NFL teams as an unrestricted free agent. The franchise ... Franchises must be careful when applying the franchise tag as it can be expensive and with the creation of the salary cap they must abide by a certain total salary for all their players, and by placing the franchise tag on a certain player that player s salary will become very expensive and its fully guaranteed. The transition designation is very similar to the franchise designation. The White Settlement states, by tendering an offer of a one year contract at a salary amounting to the greater of (1) the average of the salaries of the ten highest paid players at the designated player s same position, or (2) a twenty percent increase in the designated player s previous years salary (Mavris). The team applying the designation would retain exclusive negotiating rights over that player, a key difference between a franchise and transition designation. The inclusive of the White Settlement changed the direction of the NFL and allowed players to increase their salaries, but also restricted large player movement from year to year. It also gave the team the ability to hold on to their top players and be compensated for losing restricted free agents. • 10. Gps Limitations And Limitations Of Gps . GPS Limitations Although already widely accepted and deployed, GPS has its inherent drawbacks and limits which make GPS unsuitable in many scenarios. Those limitations include: Economics: The price and energy cost of GPS components is usually much higher than its alternatives. Though some GPS systems are inexpensive, cheap solutions may have significantly reduced quality. And it is usually very energy consuming. For instance, GPS on smart phones consumes much large portion of energy than other integrated sensing and communicating components. Even with the high cost, GPS on consumer devices cannot provide desired performance. Accuracy: The accuracy of GPS is usually not enough when small scale of space and fine grained location discrimination are considered, especially on nonprofessional devices with poor quality. And due to its inherent large scale, GPS is difficult to maintain and update, while in many scenarios, the space of interest for localizing is highly dynamic. Speed and reliability: Mobile phone GPS users usually experience slow updating of their locations. And since GPS requires LOS paths to satellites and stable signal coverage, GPS is not practical or available in many cases. Thus, techniques assisting GPS with LPS components have received many attentions from both industry and academia in recent years. An approach widely used on mobile phone navigations is cellular networking based localization. The global deployment and general availability of cellular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The parent structure that the contrast agent is from a carboxyl group in the form of benzoic acid, to which other chemical components or side chains are attached (Bontrager, 2014). Ionic, iodinated contrast media holds a positively charged side chain element called the cation. The cation is a salt, usually consisting of sodium, meglumine, or a mixture of both. No one had any idea what caused illnesses and diseases, such as the Black Death. There were no antibiotics or vaccines thus it was almost impossible to cure illness and diseases. Bloodletting was a popular method of restoring a patient s health and humors . Early surgery, often done by barbers, occurred without anaesthesia. Often medicines were made from herbs, spices and resins. The medicine was applied in drinks, pills, washes, baths, rubs, poultices, purges and ointments. • 18. Voting Rights Of The United States Essay Voting Rights in America Since the creation of the United States of America, providing freedom and opportunity has shown to be the most essential factor that makes the country a desirable place to call home. However, certain rights have not been preserved for every citizen in society. In the aftermath of the recent presidential election, the citizens of this country are beginning to realize the importance of voicing their opinion and exercising the right to vote. Unfortunately, this country has yet to fully provide equal opportunity for the people it vowed to protect, especially when it comes to voting. Voting rights are still clearly under attack in our country and intentionally impact those who are of color and/or who are disadvantaged as well as women and those with disabilities. To begin, the history of past voting rights is not one that is pretty. For a majority of the early elections in the country, the only citizens that could vote were white, male property owners. People of color did not receive this right until far into the future. Alexander Keyssar, the writer of the book, The Right to Vote: The Contested History of Democracy in the United States, discusses that rights were well overdue for many Americans. Fairfield Greenwich Group claimed a loss of $7 billion that has vaporized with Bernie Madoff (Blodget, H., April 1, 2009). The Fairfield Greenwich assured their e clients that they did their due diligence by thoroughly researched Madoff by learning about their managers, operational practices, staff, and infrastructure. The group also said that they have higher standards and sorting process than any other average consulting firm (Blodget). However, FGG were also supposed to analyze Madoff s trading records. Apparently, they did not do their proper due diligence because Madoff did not have trading records; thus, it was impossible to replicate and analyze those essential documents. In addition, FGG needed to at least, monitor his activities for a couple of months to see what kind of results he is getting. The group is being sued by Massachusetts regulators for not doing due diligence that they claimed they did, misleading their clients, and investing more than a half of their assets into Madoff s firm (Henriques, D.B., April 1, 2009). First, the music is more complex than her usual upbeat pop style. Second, Katy Perry sounds more mature and beautiful in Unconditionally , but comes off as silly and girly in Waking Up in Vegas . This is why her song Unconditionally is quite interesting. The Fashion Journalist says Meant to be a montage of beautiful images, I treated it like a fashion editorial. Each frame was its own cinematic moment. Each dress told a story. (Anonymous) In the music video, there are more vintage styles of clothing (ex. Ball gowns, tuxedoes), and the entire video is in muted colors. The set of the music video is that of an old throne room, complete with crystal chandeliers. In this, Katy Perry has almost black hair and wears more subtle makeup. The key is contrast, according to Christie Wilcox of You: Beauty, The darker the facial features in relation to the skin tone, the more feminine a face appears. (Wilcox) Because Katy Perry wears darker lipstick and eye shadow, it contrasts with her pale skin, making her look more feminine and more like an adult, and less like an adult trying to look like a teenager. • 21. Cahokian Chief Research Paper The Cahokian Chief is a ruler of our Mississippian civilization. The political structure that Cahokia operates under is a chiefdom in which the chief is a hereditary leader over a group of towns. Chiefdoms are based on the communal culture of gift giving and commercial links and trade routes and this is what supports our city. The chief has the most power over us he controls our land and economy and the rest of us are considered subordinate to our chief. A part of the chief s job is to organize us through different obligations such as tribute, shared labor, and rituals. We tend to the fertile land, which provides us with an abundance of maize, beans, and squash. The land is so fertile along the Mississippian river where we live; we attribute the abundance of maize to our corn goddess. The agriculture we tend to is delivered to the chief and to neighboring communities whether it is a gift or a debt. • 22. Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone Though plays have been a form of entertainment for thousands of years, the late 19th Century saw the invention of a new kind of medium; the motion picture.[1] Since then, comparisons between a film and the novel it was based upon have become mainstay. Amazingly, ardent fans of a particular novel can become polarized when the material is changed in any fashion or perceived in a different sense than the reader imagined. Thus, Book to Film Adaptation Analysis are commonplace in today s society and ripe with the energetic opinions of the consumer. Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone was a novel written by J.K. Rowling and published by Bloomsbury in 1997.[2] It is the first book in a series and proved immensely successful having won most of the British book awards that were judged by children and other awards in the United States.[3] It quickly topped the New York Times best seller list and stayed near the top for nearly two years![4] By mid 2008 official translations of the book were published in 67 languages. Hollywood, looking for fresh material, took notice and by the end of 1999, Rowling had sold the film rights to the first four Harry Potter books to Warner Brothers.[5] Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone released to audiences on November 16th, 2001 to great success. Like its predecessor, it received high praise by critics.[6][7] Roger Ebert, well known for his insightful film reviews, gave it four out of four stars calling it a classic, and particularly praised ... When someone is seriously harmed by a medical professional to the point where they will be damaged for the rest of their life, they deserve to be compensated, especially if the person is a dependent and will need lifelong care. A serious example of this problem is the case of a couple in Nebraska whose son was born with cerebral palsy due to negligence by their obstetrician. When the case went to trial, the monetary value assessed for taking care of their son for the rest of his life was six million dollars, and the jury awarded them 5.6 million. However, the cap on all damages, both economic and noneconomic, is 1.25 million, so that was the amount of money the couple received (Hot Coffee). This is a problem for two reasons: caps limit the jury s ability to make a fair decision based on the trial, and the lack of money paid out by the doctor s insurance will have to be covered by taxpayers later. The point of a jury is to allow a panel of peers to judge a person s case and give a worthy compensation in the civil justice system, and caps take this away from the jury. The son will now be taken care of by Medicaid and Social Security money, which ultimately comes out of tax payer s pockets, leaving citizens responsible for something the insurance companies should have covered. • 24. Analytical Essay On The Movie Selma The United States of America, a country viewed by many as glorious and opportunistic, endured moments in history that shall never be forgotten. Since the beginning of the Civil War in the 1800s, the act to end slavery was gruesome and horrifying. A war was fought between the free and slave states to eradicate slavery in the country for ever. In the year 1865, slavery was abolished, nonetheless, the evil in many Confederate cities and states was still alive. Selma is a breath taking movie about Martin Luther King Jr. and his fight against this evil. With death threats sent to his home, and his own followers beaten by troopers, Dr. King never backed down. Having the right to vote is exceedingly vital in having a voice in the government, and the kinds of laws and bills that should be passed. In the beginning of this movie, an African American woman prepares her documents to be allowed to vote. When she hands the documents to the white worker, he begins questioning the woman. His main incentive is simply not give her the right to vote. The movie states that fifty percent of Selma is African American, however, merely two percent are allowed to vote. It is the power held by white officials that denied their vote. Many people took to the streets to peacefully protests this injustice and inequality that loomed in the system. • 25. Dichotomy Investigation: The Dichotomy or also Achilles and Tortoise Paradox: Introducing the first paradox Achilles and the Tortoise . This paradox is very similar to the idea of the Dichotomy so by explaining the example of Achilles and the Tortoise both will be covered. Zeno came up with the idea of the Dichotomy, which means dividing by two. As an example for this he came up with the example of a character called Achilles. One day Achilles and a tortoise had a speed race against each other. Obviously the tortoise is much slower to Achilles was so modest to allow him to have a head start of 100 meters. As Zeno and Aristoteles says, when the race starts Achilles has to catch up with the tortoise so he sprints. While this is happening he is halving the distance towards the tortoise. There is no problem here because assuming no acceleration or deceleration, he is always going to half the distance as shown on this picture: Assuming that Achilles is running at 10meters per second (m/s) one can logically say that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As with Achilles and a tortoise this one even further stresses the idea that motion is just an illusion. In this example Zeno assumes that time, in his definition, is only made up of a series of moments . In this paradox one arrow, just a regular arrow, has been shot or is just simply in motion. Zeno himself states that with his paradox, no motion is occurring while the arrow is in motion. This is because he assumes that for each instance of time, which can be broken up into small intervals as defined earlier by him, no movement occurs. Again explaining this more in detail, he is saying that because of all these moments occurring and being able to divide these up into smaller intervals which then ultimately lead to the point where the arrow is not moving at all because time has moments and no movement occurs in that moment of time. This is why Zeno claims that the arrow is not moving at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is possible that the Halothane triggered a genetically predisposed condition called Malignant hyperthermia (MH) in the patient Sharon who was having surgery on her knee. Sharon presented with symptoms 2 hours after administration of inhaled Halothane. She had a temperature that elevated to 105 degrees, increased heart rate of 120 bpm and low blood pressure of 60/56. All of these symptoms are abnormal for this patient but can be signs of the condition MH. This condition can be triggered by exposure to volatile inhaled anesthesia drugs like Halothane and signs can be seen during surgery or shortly after surgery (library book, pg510). MH alters the calcium channel in the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) and this allows large quantity of calcium to be released from the SR creating hyper action in skeletal muscle; this reaction increases oxygen consumption and increased heat production that ultimately leads to a hypermetabolic state after the inhaled Halothane has triggered the condition (Knies). The continuous elevation of calcium also causes excessive stimulation of anaerobic glycolytic metabolism. This creates respiratory and metabolic acidosis, rigidity (muscle contractions), and hyperkalemia (elevated potassium) and can ultimately lead to death ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, his father tried to persuade him to become a lawyer, which of course he didn t want to be. St.Thomas Aquinas was one that believed in the Natural Law Theory. This helped him create the eight essential features in what living things exhibit. St.Thomas is one that believes one s soul makes a person. There are civil laws that help him explain what a natural law is. All of this leads back to the main question which is, How do we determine if something is moral, right or just? St. Thomas s starting point for ethics began with Aristotle. He attended Plato s Academy and structured his ideology from him. Thomas admired Plato but preferred Aristotle s word. Even though they didn t have his exact words they asserted his learnings from the books he wrote. The reason why St. Thomas didn t follow Plato s words and ideas was because he found problems in Plato s philosophy. He had a difficult time trying to prevail with this social contract theory. The social contract theory exhibits only moral obligation, it is a signed/ unsigned contract that isn t written out and physically signed however it is structured on the concept of what is expected for you to do.
