written two books Ten Days to Destiny: The Battle for Creteand The Nazi Occupation of Crete,
1941 1945. His first book, Ten Days to Destiny: The Battle for Crete, has been praised as the most
authentic documentation of the battle.
This book details a true story of American John Alexander. Alexander vacationed to the island of
Crete in Greece with his sister and parents to visit his grandparents. However, Alexander s peaceful
vacation was interrupted by the invasion of Germany. Germany had launched the first airborne
invasion of an island fortress on the beautiful paradise. The Cretan people and their British,
Australian, and New Zealand allies fought the Germans for ten long, bloody days until they were
finally defeated and Crete was conquered.
During the days of occupation, Crete was heavily punished for their resistance. Within the first
month, two thousand civilians died at the hands of their cruel invaders. John Alexander s father was
among those two thousand perished souls. John s father, Nicholas, claimed neutrality as an

inspired to improve as much as possible.
The first task was to create a sequential film. The idea of this incredibly daunting as I had next to
no experience with filming or editing. After practicing with the filming and editing using cameras
and Adobe Premier in an induction , I still didn t feel very confident. This is where I got the idea
for stop motion from. I made good use of primary and secondary research by experimenting with

The Harry Potter movies have not been evaluated based on the work of the director(s). According to
the auteur theory, each of the movies would need to be evaluated and interpreted based on the
creative work of the director each specific movie. This would be as if we are saying each Harry
Potter movie is separate and distinct from the Harry Potter movies created by a different
director. As Harry Potter is meant to be evaluated and interpreted as a unified series, the auteur
theory interpretation would make utterly no sense. Obviously, by using Harry Potter as an
example, many opponents would make that claim that J.K. Rowling wrote the books. Even if
we can compare literature to film and J.K. Rowling is also said to be the author of the films, she
is not the director. But because of her role in creating these novels, she had a say in how the
movies portrayed them, and in some cases, similar to Thor, her vision overruled the director s

Chapter 5 deals with histology, the study of tissues. Types of tissue include epithelial tissue,
connective tissue, nervous and muscular tissue. Cell junctions, glands and tissue growth,
development, repair and degeneration are discussed.
Histology is also called microscopic anatomy because a microscope is needed to view the
structures of tissues.
Tissues are prepared for study thinly slicing the tissue, preserving them with a fixative and
staining them to produce greater detail. Tissue samples can be sliced longitudinally, by cross

The two types of osseous tissue are spongy bone and compact bone. Blood is the liquid connective
tissue. It is made of a ground substance called plasma and other formed elements. The formed
elements are erythrocytes (red blood cells), leukocytes (white blood cells), and platelets that aid in
clotting.
Nervous tissue is made of neurons, and neuroglia (glial cells). The neurons have a pronounced cell
body called the neurosoma. Dendrites are extensions that branch from the neurosoma to receive
messages and communicate those messages to the neurosoma. Neurosoma also have an axon
(nerve fiber) that extends from the cell body that sends out signals to other cells. Glial cells transmit
messages only short distances. They provide protection and support to the nervous system.
Muscular tissue is built to contract and relax for movement, circulation and digestion. Skeletal,
cardiac and smooth muscle are the 3 types of muscular tissue. Skeletal muscle is usually attached to
bone, but there are exception like the tongue and some muscles of the face. Skeletal muscle is
voluntary and striated. Cardiac muscle is only found in the heart. It is involuntary muscle tissue but
