The Irish Famine
The Irish will never forgive or forget what the British policies did to their forefathers. Of the Irish
who did successfully immigrated to the United States they quickly joined an associations that
favored Ireland s independence. The famine is what fueled the Irish emigrant anger and most of
them viewed it to be the reason for leaving Irelandin the first place. John Mitchel, journalist for the
Nation, expressed the emigrants angry sentiments when he wrote:
The Almighty indeed sent the potato blight but it was the English who created the famine that over
a million men, women, and children were quietly killed over a period of time. They died of hunger
in the midst of abundance which their own hands created. (Mitchel)

Hip Hop And Its Effects On African Society
Hip Hop In Africa
Hip Hop in Africa is used to spread awareness and evoke calls to action on sensitive subjects that
affect the majority of the people in Africa. Hip Hop influences many people in Africa because it is
meaningful and only tends to speak about the positives and negatives of African society.Hip Hop in
Africa is used as a method to spread awareness on HIV/Aids, create a call to action to tell people
to save themselves when tragedies hit, and change the way parents raise their children.
One way that Hip Hop improves African society is that it spreads important messages about
family values. Stating that young people in Senegal lose themselves as a result of parents
enforcing negative things to their kids. The song Mariama by Senegalese rapper Omzo Dollar
gives a call to action, warning people, youth in general, that young people in Senegal lose
themselves as a result of parents enforcing negative things to their kids. It starts off with a young
girl, who is in a rush to grow up. She meets the love of her life and all seem perfect. The love of
the girl s life was nice and promised to protect the girl from abuse. Her parents forced her to betray
the man that she genuinely loved. The girl s parents did not care or put any consideration into
account, the girl s feelings. They just wanted their daughter to marry a wealthy man. The girl and
the man she loved slowly began to grow distant, it was leading to an end. The man gave

Rooster Syndrome Research Paper
Ever heard of rooster syndrome? Well, it is a classic illustration of a misconception, where it was
once believed that because a rooster crowed just before dawn every morning, then its crowing
caused the sun to rise. So the form of thinking is: A occurred, then B occurred therefore, A caused
B, hence, rooster syndrome. It is natural human tendency to assume that if two events or
phenomena reliably happen at about the same time then one is the reason for the other. However,
this notion is simply not true. Just because the crowing rooster and the rising sun seem like they
correlate, does not mean that one causes the other, therefore, correlation does not imply causation.
In this paper there will be an explanation to what distinguishes... Show more content on

Instead, it is a fallacy to assume that just because two events are correlated they tend to cause each
other also. Unfortunately, it is often a very difficult matter to distinguish true causal relationship;
the only way to get close to finding the truth is to rule out certain alternative hypotheses, thereby
strengthening the case of causation. Still, this method may be unattainable to a certain extent
considering the fact that there may be multiple factors contributing to an outcome or that some
things may have both a direct and indirect effect, or perhaps, simply acknowledging that there may
be more than just one answer to the

Workplace Lactation Essay
Application question:
This woman needs about 75 grams of protein every day.
Web Assignment:
1. What are the general principles behind establishing a workplace lactation program? If there is
going to be accommodations at work to establish a workplace lactation program it needs to
convenient for the women. It also needs to be private, have an electrical outlet and a chair. In
addition, you might want to provide: magazines, paper towels, mirrors and a clock. I think it s
important to establish a workplace lactation program because according to Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, employed women are less likely to breastfeed for a shorter length of time
than women who aren t employed. There are numerous studies showing how children who ... Show

African Americans were more susceptible to the effects of sleep deprivation. African American
men gained 3.7 pounds compared to African American females and white men who gained 2.2
pounds. These testees were affected by sleep deprivation after 5 consecutive nights and as a
result they ate more fatty foods. Currently I have a pretty unchanging sleep pattern because of
school. Since I am an athlete I make sure I get enough sleep to repair my body. However,
sometimes if I have a lot of homework or it s a weekend I tend to stay up later. As a result, for
the next few nights I can t fall asleep until that same I stayed up. When I do have to stay up late
studying or am with friends out late, I notice that is when I am the hungriest and constantly eat
snacks. For example, when I came back from Australia my sleep pattern was messed up for
weeks. Luckily this was in the summer, but I couldn t fall until 4 am and would wake up at 2
pm everyday. As a result I didn t know what I should eat at 2pm because it was way past
breakfast time and lunch time so I would eat snacks throughout the entire day/night. I found that
during these few weeks I didn t want to workout because it was already so hot outside by 2pm and

The Ambiguity Of Biological Toxins
Nelsen et al. (2014) presents and discusses what the authors believe to be the inconsistencies among
the definitions of poisons, venoms, and toxins, as well as the conflation, or mixing, of these terms
within the literature. The three primary classes of toxins, biological, anthropogenic, and
environmental, are defined and distinguished so that the authors can further discern the biological
toxins using their own classification scheme (Nelsen et al. 2014). Nelsen et al. (2014) presents the
necessity of their three class scheme, which they proposed due to the terminological inconsistencies
within and among the literature on biological toxins. I think implementing a new term to detract
from the misconstruction of existing toxicological definitions would be constructive, especially
with the proposed corresponding binomial classification system. This review aims to discuss the
breadth and functionality of the Nelsen et al. (2014) categorization of toxins.
Through their new categorical binomial nomenclature system, based on source, delivery
mechanism, and storage of toxins, Nelsen et al. (2014) introduces a novel term within the biological
toxins to further reduce the ambiguity of toxicological definitions such as venom and poison.
Toxungen, or a toxic ointment as stated by Nelsen et al. (2014), is a toxic substance which is
actively delivered to the surface of the antagonizing organism and affects without the necessitation
of a wound. With the introduction of the term, toxugen,

Last Night Sharon Olds Analysis
Last Night Versus Seniors What does love have to do with sex? Sex is always considered a taboo
and controversial topic, whereas most think they know something about love, and they re more
than willing to give others unwanted free advice. However, very few people talk about both in
depth together. Last Night by Sharon Olds and Seniors by Alberto Rios cover a variety of topics,
but most importantly they both cover loveand sex. More specifically, they cover both what the male
and female thoughts are about sex, what their expectations are during the act, and where love
comes into play. Both speakers are memorializing their past experiences, the experiences between
the two are exceedingly different. Both poems have very similar intentions,... Show more content on

Essay about Macular Degeneration
Macular Degeneration
Condition:
Macular Degeneration is a problem in the part of the eye that controls your sharpest central
vision. It is a group of diseases that result in a loss of detailed vision. The brain will not just leave
the spot empty, so it learns to fill it in with spotty macular cell damage. People most of the time
don t tell their doctors (opthalmologists) about it until it is well in advance.
There are two types of Macular Degeneration. Juvenile Macular Degeneration affects the central
vision in young children. This takes place in the macula, or the central region of the retina. The
retina is where we are able to read and to distinguish colors. The main symptoms ... Show more

Wet Macular Degeneration causes more severe loss of vision. Dry Macular Degeneration is the
age related type. There is no proven cure for dry Macular Degeneration.
Cause:
Basically what my research is stating is that there is a major genetic component that contributes to
this disease. There are three general types of hereditary Macular Degeneration. The first is called
early onset. This is when you get it when you are four years of age up to seven. In this type both
parents and their children can be affected. This means it is dominantly inherited. Most of the time
this is called Best Disease or Viteliform Macular Degeneration.
The second type is called middle onset. This is from five years of age up to twenty years of age.
This type is called Stargarett s disease. This is the Juvenile Macular Degeneration. This type is
recessively inherited. Meaning that this type can appear even if only a couple family members
have it.
The third type is called late onset. This is when you get it in your thirties or forties. This type may
have dominant or recessive inheritance.
Really the cause of Macular Degeneration is unknown. Recently researchers have discovered that a
group of genes called ABCR contribute to the disease. When someone has these genes the likeliness
of this person to form Macular Degeneration increases by 30 percent. In most situations Macular
Degeneration is

British Airways And Ryanair And The Airline Industry
Introduction
In today s business world, Aviation industry is frequently developing rapidly in order to compete
among each other and survive in the larger markets leading to aggregate competition between low
cost/no frills carriers LCC and the more traditional full service carriers FSC (Hunter: 2006). Due to
rapid development, consumer trend tend to improve in the market because flying on mainstream
carriers was no longer cost effective, therefore, low cost carrier was introduced (Whitelegg: 2005).
Subsequently, operation strategy is fundamental to the success of the businesses. Slack, Brandon

Ryanair incorporated at no frills, low cost, quick to reach consumers destinations in a much
modernized aviation industry. For instance, it is more cheaply, and more reliable, than any other
airline including British Airways. They do not compromise on safety, top drawer punctuality, near
perfect baggage handling and efficient green policy. The target markets of this particular airline
are those who compromises on comfort and fare conscious customers. For example: Students, low
income earners, busy businessmen, and family (Ryanair.com). On the other hand, British Airways
strategy is to become the world s leading global premium airline by making cost that is base more
efficiently and focus on outstanding customer service, which is a critical part of their strategy. The
5 strategy goals are to be the airline of choice for long haul premium customers, deliver and
outstanding service for customers at every touch point, grow their presence in key global cities,
build on the leading position in London and meet customers needs and improve margins through
new revenue streams (British Airways PLC .com). The target market of British Airways is leisure
travellers, consumers who want comfort and cost is not an issue (marketingmagazine.co.uk). Both
aviation companies are customers based but they do differ from each other in their operation
strategy.

The Life Of The World By Fr. Alexander Schmemann
For the Life of the World authored by Fr. Alexander Schmemann an Orthodox priest was originally
intended as a study guide in the 1970 s for students preparing themselves for Missionary work,
giving them a world view , helping to speak about Christian view points along with an approach to
how they coalesce through the eyes of the Orthodox Church. A key theme Fr. Schmemann
discussed is Secularism, which he believes developed from our progressive alienation of the
Christian culture. Additionally, he presents his interpretation of the transforming biblical themes of
creation, fall, and redemption through a sacramental understanding. Fr. Schmemann s experiences
within the Orthodox Church liturgy reveal unity in the meanings of these three themes. It is
through these understandings he believes can effectively offset the disastrous effects of secularism
while revitalizing the sacramental understanding of the world. The author divided the book into
seven chapters, each building upon one another; The Life of the world, The Eucharist, The Time of
Mission, Of Water and the Spirit, The Mystery of Love, Trampling Down death by death, and Ye
Are Witnesses of These Things. Moreover, two Appendices follow the chapters: Worship in a
Secular Age and Sacraments and Symbol. In particular, Fr. Schmemann opens by converging on the
ostensibly minor theme of nourishment, even quoting famed philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach s
phrase. Man is what he eats. Anti religious groups attempt to portray

TESCO and Self-Service Checkouts
TESCO AND SELF SERVICE CHECKOUTS
Introduction
The literature below is a research about self checkout machine in Tesco supermarkets, and it aims at
answering; the reasons that Tesco has changed, importance of self checkout systems in Tesco and
challenges faced by the self checkout systems. TESCO is a chain of supermarkets stores originally
from the U.K; they have expanded rapidly over the past few years. These stores are of general
merchandise that carries everything from clothing, deckchairs, groceries, petrol stations, wines,
consumer electronics, DVD and CDS. TESCO has stores in North America, Asia and Europe that
operate under the TESCO brand. It operates hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenient stores.
TESCO services allow their customers to do their shopping from the comfort of their chairs;
because delivery is done to their homes, and it also offers internet shopping services.
Literature review
Tesco is the largest UK store, founded in 1999 by Cohen. It is currently among the principal
retailers in the world (Akridge, 2012). The company has undergone different steps to put up with
customer demand (Piercy, 2012). Because of these steps, changes have occurred that have increased
customer satisfaction (consortium, 2006). This has introduced self checkout systems which have
increased sales and save more time while shopping (Jones 2008). These systems also bring
challenges (infrastructure network 2002). Different solutions can be used to counter these problems

Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte or should I say the Son of the Revolution , I believe was both a preserver
and a destroyer of the French Revolution. In fact, In a sense, Napoleon brought the revolution to
an end in 1799, but he was also a child of the revolution (Spielvogel 544, 1). Napoleon had helped
the French peopleand the French government in various ways; nevertheless, Napoleon thought that
constantly the people owed him. I think that this is how he acted like a child. Napoleon became
commander of the French army in 1796 in Italy. Since he was now the commander he was reliable
to do what he had to for the French without the people owing him anything. Moreover, from the
time he became commander he had fought and won numerous wars beginning... Show more content

Europe at one time did have factories which were stocked with quite expensive items, but
because of other companies taking over them prices fell and people were left unemployed.
Europe had a high death rate because of lack of food and terrible living conditions. In Europe
there was a lot of poverty whereas in Great Britain there was not. Because of emigrants coming
from all over to Europe especially, people from Ireland, Europe s population began to grow. It was
then that Europe soon would be exposed to experience industrialization.
How did the Industrial Revolution affect the family, the role of women, and living conditions?
The Industrial Revolution affected families in countless different ways. For the bulk of people
who were in the working class lived in small houses. Considering that these houses were so
small, the people in them would be crammed together. There were 63 families where there were
at least five persons to a bed; and there were some in which even six were packed in one bed,
lying at the top and bottom children and adults (Spievogel 569, 1). The houses were unsanitary
and the people from the working class were more likely to come in contact with a disease. The
people of the working class were not as physically healthy looking because they did not eat and live
as well as the middle class or wealthy did. The working classes had very poor working conditions
and were not paid fairly. Not just the men worked, but women

Fault prediction in a quantitative way of different Types of Inheritance on the Object Oriented

Abstract Software testing of a system is a most critical process. Fault prediction models
automatically identify fault prone classes before testing. These models we can be used to reduce
duration of testing, risk in projects, resources and infrastructure costs. Such predictions can be used
to target improvement efforts to those modules that need it the most. The application of metrics to
build models can assist to focus quality improvement efforts to modules that are likely to be faulty
during operations. In this paper we study fault prediction in a quantitative way for different types of
inheritance. We also studied that how this fault can be predicted with multi level inheritance.
Keywords fault prediction, OO metrics, prediction models, multi level inheritance, software
engineering, fault prone classes
I.INTRODUCTION
One of the most important factors when developing software is the early detection of faulty
software for reducing development cost and assuring software quality. If the faultiness is not
detected in the early stages and if detected and not fixed, than it will carry on throughout the
project and the cost for fixing it after the delivery would be more than 50% or could be 100%

Romanticism During The Romantic Period
The Romantic Period
Romanticism (1820 1900) in music was brought to the world during the early nineteenth century.
This music stressed emotion, imagination, and individualism. The Romantic period was about
freedom of expression and breaking away from time honored conventions.
This period in time had influenced many, or even all of the arts. Painters used bolder and more
brilliant colors in their works. Also, they had preferred dynamic motion to gracefully balanced
poses. Poetry was also changed during the Romantic Period. Emotional subjectivity was a basic
quality in every type of art during this time. Many artists had become romantics and had become
drawn to the realm of fantasy: the unconscious, the irrational, and the world of dreams. Romantics
were fascinated with the Middle Ages, the time of chivalry and romance. What neoclassicists had
thought of to be the dark ages , the romantics had cherished.

None of these were entirely to replace the Romantic impulse. Hard bitten naturalism in fiction and
film coexists today with sweeping romanticism; there are large audiences for both. The
contemporary vogue for Victorian designs is just one of many examples of the frequent revivals of
Romantic tastes and styles that have recurred throughout the twentieth century.
Looking back over the list of characteristics discussed above one can readily see that despite the fact
that Romanticism was not nearly as coherent a movement as the Enlightenment, and lacked the sort
of programmatic aims the latter professed, it was even more successful in changing history
changing the definition of what it means to be human.
Romanticism
The romantic period emphasised the self, creativity, imagination and the value of art. This is in
contrast to the Enlightenment emphasis on Rationalism and

others did not. Persia s bureaucracy created a way to efficiently govern a vast empire. Athens
innovative democracy allowed people to make decisions which are best for their city. Although
Athens had their achievements, the Persians did a better job with their bureaucracy and keeping
their governmentand empire stable.
Athens was the first city to have a structured democracy. They wanted people to make their

It was really intolerant towards non Athenians. The Persian bureaucracy was more tolerant. The

Emperor Darius united 70 different cultures. According to Document 1, the Charter of the
Rights of Nations, Cyrus wrote, I did not want anyone to terrorize the land [Babylon]... I lifted their
unbecoming yoke . Cyrus, instead of treating his subjects brutally, decided to treat his subjects
fairly, just like normal Persians. The Persian way of government proved to make their empire
socially more stable than Athens .
Some may say that Athens culture is better than the Persians because they were an innovative
democracy and the Persians were not. However, Athens was a very limited democracy. According to
Document 6 ,only 1/10 of Athenians were actually citizens of the city. In Persia, even though there
was no democracy, there was equality. A successful government is not the one that has the fair
government, it is the one that results in stability and peace.

The New Face of Black Feminine Beauty Essay
The New Face of Black Feminine Beauty
Since the early 1900s, Black women have had a fascination with their hair. More explicitly, they
have had a fascination with straightening their hair. The need to be accepted by the majority class
has caused them to do so. Though the image of straight hair as being better than coarse hair still
hasn t left the Black community, there has been a surge of non straight hairstyles since the nineteen
sixties. Wearing more natural hairstyles, which ironically enough include weaves and hair
extensions has been considered to be more empowered and more enlightened. However, this image
comes with a price, and though it appears the natural hairstyle movement has advanced Black

The model is drawn because a real life model would be perceived to be fake, air brushed, etc. The
colorlessness of the drawing creates the scene of a universal Black woman. Also, the drawn picture
doesn t get into the light/dark color complex. The light/dark color complex is another ideological
problem in the Black community. Lighter Blacks (especially women) were perceived to be more
attractive, more intelligent, and more acceptable to the White community. Darker skinned Blacks
were perceived to be the opposite. This was deposited upon the culture during the slave era. Hair
texture also became an issue within the Black community, as lighter, straighter hair was perceived
to be nicer, and coarse, thick hair was perceived to be bad, ugly. The afro movement in the 60 s
challenged this ideology. In the 60 s, natural hair meaning coarse and thick, began to signify
intelligence, Black power, and resistance to the majority culture, overall enlightenment. This image
was reborn in the late 1990s. Newer options for natural hairstyles and the increasing acceptance of
dreadlocks reinitiated a type of anti chemically relaxed hair movement. Refusing to put chemicals in
one s hair (chemicals referring to those used to straighten one s hair) meant refusing to cater to the
slave mentality of light skinned, straight haired beauty. However, the connection between natural
hair and soulful, enlightened, etc, only works if one s

Pain In The Giver
Pain is a hard thing to cope with. Humans live everyday wishing for no pain. But, what would

Theme Of Innocence In Sense And Sensibility
Finally, in Austen s Sense and Sensibility the idea of Innocence is embodied in the figure of
Marianne, as we can see in several passages of the text: Beyond you three, is there a creature in
the world whom I would not rather suspect of evil than Willoughby, whose heart I know so well?
Elinor would not contend, and only replied, Whoever may have been so detestably your enemy, let
them be cheated of their malignant triumph, my dear sister, by seeing how nobly the consciousness
of your own innocence and good intentions supports your spirits. It is a reasonable and laudable
pride which resists such malevolence. (Austen 140) Marianne is almost a child, she is only

monks. The story follows the adventures of a larger than life character named Beowulf. This
character is famous for slaying monstrous beasts, having incredible strength, and qualities
considered optimal in the world of the Germanic tribes. Beowulf relates to Herricks poem
because like many of the warriors in his day, they held Epicurean beliefs. The Germanic people
believed that death is final and that there is no afterlife. Their warriors were only interested in
finding treasures of their enemies and honor from their king. They fought to earn riches and
armor and any other thing that they desired. Beowulf was one of these men as well. When he
killed the beast Grendel, he took his arm and hung it from the rafters for everybody to see. When
he went to kill the Dragon, he knew that he would not be coming back from the battle alive. He
said that if he died, he wanted a massive tower built to him to honor him. In the battle with the
dragon, he is mortally wounded. As he is dying, he tells his friend Wiglaf to bring over the
dragons treasure so he can see it before he dies. This proves perfectly that Beowulf and his fellow
warriors are concerned with earthly things (riches) and enjoy earthly things. This relates to the
poem because the poem talks about making use of our time

The Characteristics Of A Democratic Style Of Management...
autocratic management has been successful as it provides strong motivation to the manager. This
provides for quick decision making but is generally not successful in gaining employee engagement
or maintaining worker satisfaction.
Laissez faire or Free rein Style of Leadership
A person may be in a leadership position without providing leadership, leaving the group to fend
for itself. Subordinates are given a free hand in deciding their own policies and methods.
This can sometimes be a positive leadership style if workers are responsible and self starting and do
not require a lot of supervision. In this situation employees may enjoy a laissez faire style of a
leader.
Democratic Style of Leadership
A democratic style of leadership involves the leader sharing decision making abilities with group
members while also promoting the interests of the group members and practicing social equality.
Employees will likely enjoy this style of leadership because it gives them a say in many decisions.

Summary Of For That He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne
The poem, For That He Looked Not upon Her by George Gascoigne exemplifies how the speaker
suffered from love, something that many people believe one should feel positive about. The title
delivers a despairing tone by allowing the audience to believe that the speaker can no longer look
the woman he loved in the eye. Conflicting with the despairing tone, the speaker develops a
complex attitude with the use of structure, metaphors, diction, and desire. The structure and tone
of the poem enhance the conflict and hopelessness the speaker is feeling towards the woman he
loves and desires. For the first twelve lines of the poem there is an abab rhyming pattern. This ties
into the despairing and desirable tone and how the rhyming scheme can be an example of the
speaker constantly going back and forth between emotions for this women. For example, And that
mine eyes take no delight to range About the gleams which on your face do grow. (Gascoigne 3 4)
are two phrases that contradict the speakers feelings. Stating that his eyes take no delight in range
can refer to the speaker finding no use or happiness in looking at the woman. Although, he then
mentions the gleams upon her face growing, giving the audience the idea that even though the
speakers lovefor the woman causes him deep despair, he still desires her enough to describe her
features in attentive detail; in this example the gleams on her face. This shows the back and forth
pattern and the speakers struggle when it comes

The marketing strategy of the CMF launch on the U.S. market was well planned. A celebrity Emily
Procter was invited to make advertising. According to Hofstede s typology, the U.S. belong to an
individualistic culture and Emily Procter was known for her individual success, the consumers
were expected to follow her. As individuals are concerned primarily with their own interests and are
concentrated on good appearance, fresh breath and white teeth are important components of their
attractiveness. U.S. also belong to a masculine culture where material success and assertiveness are
of great value (which Emily Procter communicates).
The packaging was thought out properly: liquid bottle form with mini breath strips clearly visible
through the clear plastic container. According to Martin Ross (1995) sensory brand images would
perform well in countries where high individualism is a dominant cultural pattern , a product with
sensory appeal provides novelty, variety, and sensory gratification . CMF embodied this image.
CMF achieved phenomenal success accounting for over 40% of the company s revenues along
with the products released after 2000.

Natural Selection Characteristics
Natural selection is when organisms develop traits, so that they will be better adapted to their
environment. Natural selection affects every living thing in the world. There are the examples of
animals blending into their environment to hide from predators. Also there is when a thing
living in a cold climate grows more hair to become warmer, and not die. Certain traits are more
common in a population because the traits increase an individual s probability of surviving and
reproducing. To start off, in the game Hungry Birds there are birds searching for moths in the
forest. When you start off in the game the trees are white. That causes the black moths to be eaten
more, because they are easier to see. The white moths then are able to blend into the environment
more. Furthermore, as the game progresses the trees go through pollution, and they become darker.
The white moths are then eaten more, because they are easier to see on the darker tree. The black
moths then survive longer because they can blend into the trees. When the trees change colors one
color of the moths become more likely to be eaten. That over time would cause the population to
change to the color congruent to the tree color.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Serial Murder And Mass Murder
Before we can take on the definitions of serial murder and mass murder, we must first understand
what exactly constitutes murder. According to the United States Code section 1111, murder is
defined as the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought (4). With that said,
according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the term serial murderimplies that there are at least
three different murder events at three different locations, with a cooling off period between each
event (Ramsland, 2009). Individuals who perpetrate the crimeof serial murder are referred to as
serial killers. The term serial killerwas coined in the mid 1970s by Robert Ressler, the former
director of the FBI s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. He chose the name serial killer
because authorities in England called these types of murders crimes in a series (Freeman, 2007).
John Wayne Gacy, known as the Killer Clown, who tortured, raped and murdered 33 men
between 1972 and 1978 is an example of a serial killer. On the other hand, mass murder is
defined as four or more murders occurring during a particular event with no cooling off period
between the murders. A mass murder typically occurs in a single location in which a number of
victims are killed by an individual (2). An example of a mass murder would be the 1995
Oklahoma City bombing perpetrated by Timothy McVeigh, in which 168 people were killed. While
serial murder has a definition that contains certain

Electronic Distribution And The Music Industry
Millions of Dollars are spent in the music industry everyday. Thousands of songs are being played
everyday in different parts of the world whether be on your phone, computer, TV, or radio. Behind
every song there is a lot of money, work and a marketing strategy. Strategies that have changed
throughout time because of the increasing advances in technology.
One of those technologies is the change of songs unto a digital format and online streaming against
the classical CD by CD sell and distributions technique. These changes created a huge change in the
music market. Are those changes in digital distributions and online streaming truly benefiting the
music industry and the Artists? Or is one swindling the other?
This leads us to another issue that affects the music companies and record labels which is the
copyright infractions occasioned by the new access to digital material. The illegal practice of
copying music and sharing it has caused many problems to the music industry and artist not only
for the money aspect on side of the record labels but also to the musicians who spend many hours
composing to create a master piece and then these are download for free and re distributed illegally

part to the Great Recession. The Act, which was named after two key lawmakers involved in the

The relative successes and failures of that Act are becoming more apparent with time, and the
shortcomings are subject to intense partisan criticism. As discussed below, Dodd Frank seeks to
address the highly sensitive and controversial notion that Wall Street banks have been designated
by the Federal Reserve as too big to fail. In fact, during the most severe moments of the crisis, the
voices of free market proponents could be heard advocating that these troubled big banks, suffering
massive losses due to their own bad bets, and if weakened to the point of failure, should be allowed
to fail. Hindsight shows that allowing just one to fail, Lehman Brothers, had serious and lasting
detrimental effect on the US and global financial system and markets. Had Lehman been saved, it
would have been the most effective agent to unwind all of the transactions and trades to which it
was a party, and likely in a rapid manner. However, being thrust into bankruptcy, and thereafter
receivers were appointed to unwind the business, took months upon months and vast resources to
settle Lehman accounts. Had Citibank, Bank of America, Bear Stearns, or AIG been allowed to
fail, it may have been possible that the US financial system would have melted down completely.
So these super banks, and non banks, cannot be allowed to fail in crisis, due to the system wide
risk. Notwithstanding, such an implicit assurance, that they will always get a bailout, no matter
how toxic

Comparing The LS Vs. The Pyloric Sphincter
But if the stomach does not reach the proper level of acidity the LES stays open which means
stomach acid refluxes into the esophagus.
Unlike the Lower Esophageal Sphincter the Pyloric Sphincter remains closed until stomach levels
are high enough. This can result in indigestion, bloating, or forcing stomach contents back into the
esophagus. The Pyloric Sphincter is a valve that holds stomach contents until they are ready to go
into the intestines; the Pyloric Sphincter works in the opposite way of the LES. Thy Pyloric
Sphincter will not open until stomach levels are high enough; this is nature s way of making sure
that food is properly digested before flowing through the rest of the GI system.

African American Power In The 18th Century
From the 15th century to about the 18th century there was a struggle between European powers for

the Native and African societies. By decimating native population with famine and war, while
forcing western Africans into immigration. The Jesuits, French missionaries, unlike other European

At first, it started off with labor and compensation for the labor. This was known as being an
indentured servant, they would work for about 7 years farming and doing another task in return
for a share of land, which was usually a small piece. They also became indentured servants to pay
off debt as mentioned in the primary source Gottlieb Mittelberger On the Misfortune indentured
Servants, When they have come to an agreement, it happens that adult persons bind themselves
in writing to serve 3, 4, 5 or 6 years for the amount due by them, according to their age and
strength. Usually, the debt that they acquired was for the ship ride from their land to the
Americas. It was better to be an indentured servant versus what was to come which was slavery
and cheap labor for little to nothing in return. In the primary source document Virginia slave
laws it mentions how slavery began, Historians now know that small numbers of Africans lived
in Virginia before 1619, the year a Dutch ship sold some twenty blacks (probably from the West
Indies) to the colonists. With the introduction of slavery was the main source of cheap labor,
indentured servants were no longer needed. It soon became very common and normal for The
English and other European powers to own slaves. Such as the Spanish, the famous conquistador
Hernan Cortes who created the encomienda system. This was a grant of Native American labor
and he received about 1000,000 to work on his estate. This lead to the creation of haciendas
which were large plots of land that provided food for the colony and they were worked by Natives.
The slaves were as well transported overseas usually from West Central Africaand Nigeria they as
well as some of the indentured servants had to endure the poor living conditions on the ship.
Slavery was the biggest form of a cheap labor system which benefited the European powers

How Did George Orwell Write Politics And The English Language
The English Language s Slight Decay The English language fascinates some people. It takes
words from other languages like Latin, Greek, and German putting in a different level than the

gets replaced with new words. Now there are more people who understand English which makes
it the third most spoken language in the world, and people continue to learn it. Like every other
language, people tend to have bad habits with the language and rarely do others try and correct
them. While others manipulate the language to make their intentions less harmful. George Orwell

Characteristics Of Secret Societies In The 18th Century
In the eighteenth century, Europe had the largest number of Secret Societies. There were three
trends that Secret Societies got something good out of: The Enlightenment (a philosophical

helps us understand the need for fantasyin our own lives.
The notion of magic is explored throughout the novel. This is shown early in the book when Polly
touches the magic rings and vanishes out of Uncle Andrew s study without a flash or a noise of any
sort, there was no Polly. This happens at the complication of the novel, this abnormal incident

Lewis explores this through the characters of Polly and Digory. An example of their friendship
is part of the resolution of the story when Lewis stated that Polly and Digory were always great
friends after that. The final narration explores the everlasting between the two protagonists in
the story. Friendship is also shown when Aslan has just finished the creation of when he tells
the creatures I give you Narnia, I give you the stars and I give you myself. This is the
characterisation of Aslan. The author uses Aslan s words to further the allegory of the creation
of the world, God s gift to us in friendship. Also in the resolution friendship is explored when time
is passing and Polly and Digory are getting older saying If ever they were sad, They thought of
that golden goodness and all was well Alliteration is used in this statement. The words golden
goodness is associated with the final memory Polly and Digory had shared with Aslan showing
readers what a true friendship they shared with each other and

The Mutiny In The Indian Army Summary
In The Times, the article The Mutiny In The Indian Army is about the 1857 mutiny in India by
the soldiers who served the East India Company. These mutineers are ruthless, for starters, there
is a massacre where no man, woman, or child is safe. The mutineers set fire to the bungalow and
passed on (page 8). Some mutineers are destroying houses in the native line, some are breaking
the prisoners out of the 3d Cavalry, and some are rioting through the city. No one can understand
how the mutiny stuck civilian homes. Which regiment had furnished the gaol guard on that day is
not stated; but as we hear of no resistance and no loss of European life at that point we may
presume it was one of the native corps (page 8). The European s are called

Freedom In Albert Camus s The Myth Of Sisyphus
Freedom
People follow same standard steps from birth till the end. We go to kindergarten then to
school. Later we enter university and live with the desire of to find a good job and to make a
better life. Do we do these things, because we really want it? In fact, this is just expectations of
society that most people think they should follow. Albert Camus, philosopher and writer, claims
that with living almost the same lives with others and with following the society we just repress
ourselves. In his essay The Myth of Sisyphus , he acknowledges that person can be free with
accepting the Absurd. People who follow the expectations of society repress their freedom,
because they are not aware that they are ruled by society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, the absurd man is determined to reject all of these
expectations on him. The only freedom the absurd man can know is the freedom he experiences:
the freedom to think and to act as he chooses. By abandoning the idea that he has some role to
fulfill, the absurd man attains the freedom of taking each moment of life as it strikes him, free of
preconceptions or prejudices.
The Guest of the Albert Camus, follows the story of Daru. He is a schoolteacher who lives
on a remote plateau. We see from the beginning of the story that Daru lives alone but he does not
feel lonely. He is even grateful for his solitude and for living in the cruel desert. One day Daru
watches two men approach his schoolhouse. One of the men was Balducci, a friend of Daru and
he leads an Arab prisoner who has been accused of murdering his cousin. Balducci has been
ordered to bring the Arab to Daru, and then return immediately to his post. Likewise, Daru has
orders to turn in the prisoner to police headquarters. Daru refuses this task, considering it
dishonorable, because he does not know that he is guilty or not. Balducci agrees with the
schoolmaster, but insists that in war men must be prepared to do many different jobs.

How Did The Us Military Influence Ww2
The US Military had a great influence over the Second World War. Their Military is strong, but
like every other military it all comes down to the discipline and hard working Soldiers that shape
a military. The Average US soldier went through a brief but highly rigorous basic training
session and then other forms of training thereafter. Every soldier was trained in a specific task to
carry out and work together as one unit of being. An Army is a combination of multiple parts
acting as one. As for the Draft wanted men at the age between 21 45, must be at satisfactory
Pristine health with no physical complications or illnesses. As these made combat very
difficult(The National WWII Museum). The US Government and many people throughout the
country believed they would be dragged into the Second World War eventually. As the war
progressed more and more Men and some women were being Drafted, further growing what
would become the greatest military in the world. All while not being in the war. After Pearl
Harbor, there was a dramatic increase in the number of recruits for enlistment as well as a draft for
the US Army. Leading to a stronger, largely populated military force. People say quality over
quantity but a force cannot be beaten that exhibits both characteristics.... Show more content on

Reshaping DTV s Culture
Making Millenials proud DTV employees and customers by reshaping DTV s culture
TARGET: To attach a wow cool factor to DTV brand and make it more appealing to the Millenials,
representing employees and customers, to increase sales (by developing innovative products) and
reduce churn rate (by building customer centric DNA). This will, in turn, increase DTV s growth
and efficiency.
To enhance the connection between individual employees roles and the organization s strategy.
To constantly surprise customers with new products and turn them into proud DTV customers.
Whether to manage a company for growth or for efficiency is a classic dilemma, and the choice isn
t simple.
DIRECTV faces this challenge of rebooting its corporate culture by encouraging innovative
projects over the short term safe and profitable projects. PwC predicts that by 2016, almost 80
percent of its workforce will be composed of Millennials and it will also represent a majority of
consumers. Therefore, it is an important challenge to look ahead and figure out what drives
Millenials both from customers and employees perspective. In order to appeal to Millenials, we
need to have a wow cool factor. For this, we should reshape the corporate culture by building
customer centric DNA, provide greater flexibility, promote diversity, make a difference to them and
appreciate them.

Lord Of The Flies Comparison
Research Question
How do the similarities and differences between R.M. Ballantyne s The Coral Island and William
Golding s Lord of the Flies emphasize their differing opinions on the nature of evil?
Introduction
When I first read Lord of the Flies, in seventh grade, I terrified my mother when I came home
from school talking about the potential evil in all men s souls. Later that year, someone asked
me what my favorite book was and, without hesitation, I responded Lord of the Flies. The
shocked look on her face revealed that this was not the response she was expecting. Being only
eleven, I did not understand the full implications of what I was saying about evil, what my favorite
book might say about me, and why hearing those words from a child ... Show more content on

Using fear, as rumor of a monster s presence on the island becomes more and more real to the
boys, and promises of meat, Jack successfully manipulates a majority of the group to leave
Ralph. After Piggy s death, the rest of the littluns, that had been with Ralph, join Jack s group,
less out of fear of a beast and more out of fear of Jack. This isolation, the contempt Jack feels
towards Ralph, and the unnerving power that Jack holds over the rest of the boys culminates in the
final hunt, where Jack orders the boys to track down and kill Ralph. Such a moment does not occur
in The Coral Island. Throughout Ballantyne s novel, the boys remain friends and trusted
companions. When Ballantyne s Ralph is kidnapped by pirates, the boys mourn him, thinking
he has died. Ralph and Peterkin never question Jack s judgements or plans. Peterkin is always
included in conversations, despite his young age, and respected. When Ralph contemplates how
they managed to be so agreeable he comes to a conclusion: There was, indeed, no discord
whatever in the symphony we played together on that sweet Coral Island; and I am now
persuaded that this was owing to our having been all tuned to the same key namely, that of love!
Yes, we loved one another with much fervency while we lived on that island; and, for a matter of
that, we love each other still (Ballantyne 109). Fittingly, the final image of Ballantyne s boys is
of them travelling together towards England, their home. Jack and Ralph s relationship, from
Lord of the Flies, is more complex: They walked along, two continents of experience and feeling,
unable to communicate. [...] They looked at each other, baffled, in love and hate (Golding 58 59).
Jack and Ralph are too similar to get along, yet understand each other well enough to stay together
for a time. The final image of Golding s boys is of them breaking

Juvenile Offenders Have A Complicated Status
In the legal world, juvenile offenders have a complicated status. Not yet quite adults, with less
understanding of laws, there is a complicated balance that must be struck between their having to
answer to their crimes and holding them accountable for their actions while still being cognizant of
the fact that they do not always possess the mental capacity to fully understand their criminal
behavior as wrong. Juvenile courts today attempt to balance the punitive and rehabilitative needs of
youths. One such way to do this is the development of juvenile diversion programs. In Trevor B.
Milton s book titled Overcoming the Magnetism of Street Life: CrimeEngaged Youth and the
Programs that Transform Them , the term diversion is used in... Show more content on

According to the Kentucky Court of Justice article titled Court Designated Workers Make A
Difference , juvenile diversion can consist of restitution, community service, curfew, counseling,
educational seminar attendance, and drug/alcohol assessments (2014). An example of a current
jurisdiction implementing diversion for youths is the Kentucky Juvenile Court. In Kentucky, as
with other states, detained youths entering diversion are placed into several programs to get
their lives back on track. These programs stem from law related education to other programs,
such as leadership, community outreach, being all you can be, making it on your own and
creative arts (2014). The basic goal of juvenile diversion is to educate youth, instill a sense of
accountability, and lessen deterrence. If compliance is met, cases are dismissed and formal
proceedings become unnecessary (2014). Indeed, as summed up by Milton, the main objectives of
juvenile diversion are to avoid labeling, reduce unnecessary detention and incarceration, reduce
repeat offenses, provide counseling and other services, and to lower justice system costs (Milton,
2011, p. 32). According to Randall G. Shelden and Daniel Macallair s book titled Juvenile Justice
in America: Problems and Prospects , the authors claim that certain petty behaviors only serve to
stigmatize youths should be taken out of the juvenile courts entirely (Shelden Macallair, 2008, p.

Lost Cause Thesis
The Lost Cause was believed to be a myth to provide justification for white political power (p. 341).
Many southern organizations defended Southern Historical Society, the United Confederate
Veterans Association, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy (p. 341). A literacy and
intellectual movement, which was the Lost Cause, that sought to reconcile the traditional Southern
white society to the defeat of the Confederate States of Americain the Civil War (Foster, G. M.
2002). Majority of those who supported the movement were confederate leaders who were
defeated by the union army by overwhelming force and not by their military skills. The Lost Cause
came from white southern who sought consolation for losses beyond their control to betrayals of
their heroes (Foster, G.M. 2002).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The decline of interest in the Lost Cause was more of a Northern than a Southern celebration,
which was the Civil War Centennial. Many white Southerners revived the use of Confederate
symbols during the civil rights revolts of 1950s and 1960s, mainly the Confederate flag and
Dixie (Gaines Foster 2002). With this being said, the Northern celebration lost intertest extremely
quick. They revived the use of Confederate symbols by trying to make the cause seem more
Christian like and noble and had their leaders exemplify chivalry. The confederate flags
exacerbated social stressors between white and black Southerners in the 1980s. The battles of the
l960s than to those of the 1860s, were when the blacks objected to confederate symbols as an
assertion of white supremacy, even though they never participated in or embraced the Lost Cause.
Being that the Civil War brought deliverance from slavery, they gloried in their ancestors
participation in a Union army they celebrated on various dates that brought emancipation to many
black communities after the war (Gaines Foster

The Middle Of The 19th Century
Introduction
The middle of the 19th century, it was thought to be an unexceptional practice if a company s
purchase of its own shares back. However, the point of view against the continued existence of the
power began to grow in force after the advancement of the model of limited liability. The ruling out
on share repurchases was as a final point added into the common law in Trevor v Whithworth. The
prevention was afterward enacted in companies legislation in England and subsequently in the
different Commonwealth countries, as well as Australia. The Act integrated two requirements of
particular consideration to the Lords. Firstly, there was a condition that the company should give its
nominal capital. Secondly, the legislation provided for an all inclusive practice for reducing capital
and the assets of the company.
It is an essential reason of corporate law that the share capital of a company should be maintained.
Nonetheless, a corporation limited by shares is open to shrink its share capital by a ruling of its
members provided that the decrease is not prohibited by its Bylaws and Memorandum of
Association and the company act in accordance with the procedures set out in the Corporation Act
2001. The concept of reduction in share capital is delineated as the method of lessening a company
s shareholder equity through share cancellations and buy backs. The reduction of funds is done by
companies for several reasons as well as the increasing value of shareholder and

Hard Time Dating Research Paper
Some women who have children at home have a hard time getting started dating. Some feel that
the children will think she s immoral if she does, and should only see Mother with one man, the
father. However, you can t stop living because of your children, and it may be that your child
resents your datingbecause you feel ashamed of it. Moreover, dating in a child s mind does not
necessarily mean sleeping together. When you feel ready to date, sit down and talk to your child if
you feel it will help you become more comfortable about dating. You can say, I d like to begin to

If you are actually considering this, it can be overwhelming to see all the different choices and
you want to make sure you pick the right one. I played on some dating sites, mainly just to meet
some people to talk to online; I was too chicken to actually meet in person unless I could take
one of my friends with me for safety measures, because you never know! But I did find luck on
American Singles and while it is not for everyone, I found them fairly decent and I m glad I
signed up because I actually had luck with the site! I tried eHarmony along with plenty others and
they of course claim to be able to match you with someone that is compatible to your preferences
basically. They have grown profusely since first starting out in 2000. The thing that bothered me
most about eHarmony was the profile you had to fill out. This was seriously really long and
took so much time I would make it half way through and take a break because I was tired of
answering so many questions. I realize this makes a huge difference in matching you with
someone compatible, but at the same time, it wouldn t be so bad if you could do so much and
then save and continue the rest later on. Unless you just have that much free time to do it.
Eharmony has 4 plans you can choose from. They have a one month, three month, six month and a

Symbolic Elements In Thornton Wilder s Our Town
The common phrase, enjoy the little things because one day you might look back and realize that
they were the big things, is a phrase that represents a main theme in Our Town. When writing this
play, Thornton Wilder kept one thing in mind: simplicity. He did this for the sole purpose of
emphasizing the theme of this play, which is appreciating the simple little things in life. A main
thing that surprised audiences when this play came out was how simple the set was. In the
beginning of the play the stage manager comes on to an empty stage and he sets up minimal props.
The entire play is the characters miming objects and actions instead of interacting with complex
props and pieces. There is also simplicity within the town itself because of

  • 2. The Irish Famine The Irish will never forgive or forget what the British policies did to their forefathers. Of the Irish who did successfully immigrated to the United States they quickly joined an associations that favored Ireland s independence. The famine is what fueled the Irish emigrant anger and most of them viewed it to be the reason for leaving Irelandin the first place. John Mitchel, journalist for the Nation, expressed the emigrants angry sentiments when he wrote: The Almighty indeed sent the potato blight but it was the English who created the famine that over a million men, women, and children were quietly killed over a period of time. They died of hunger in the midst of abundance which their own hands created. (Mitchel) These sentiments started ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hip Hop And Its Effects On African Society Hip Hop In Africa Hip Hop in Africa is used to spread awareness and evoke calls to action on sensitive subjects that affect the majority of the people in Africa. Hip Hop influences many people in Africa because it is meaningful and only tends to speak about the positives and negatives of African society.Hip Hop in Africa is used as a method to spread awareness on HIV/Aids, create a call to action to tell people to save themselves when tragedies hit, and change the way parents raise their children. One way that Hip Hop improves African society is that it spreads important messages about family values. Stating that young people in Senegal lose themselves as a result of parents enforcing negative things to their kids. The song Mariama by Senegalese rapper Omzo Dollar gives a call to action, warning people, youth in general, that young people in Senegal lose themselves as a result of parents enforcing negative things to their kids. It starts off with a young girl, who is in a rush to grow up. She meets the love of her life and all seem perfect. The love of the girl s life was nice and promised to protect the girl from abuse. Her parents forced her to betray the man that she genuinely loved. The girl s parents did not care or put any consideration into account, the girl s feelings. They just wanted their daughter to marry a wealthy man. The girl and the man she loved slowly began to grow distant, it was leading to an end. The man gave Hip Hop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Rooster Syndrome Research Paper Ever heard of rooster syndrome? Well, it is a classic illustration of a misconception, where it was once believed that because a rooster crowed just before dawn every morning, then its crowing caused the sun to rise. So the form of thinking is: A occurred, then B occurred therefore, A caused B, hence, rooster syndrome. It is natural human tendency to assume that if two events or phenomena reliably happen at about the same time then one is the reason for the other. However, this notion is simply not true. Just because the crowing rooster and the rising sun seem like they correlate, does not mean that one causes the other, therefore, correlation does not imply causation. In this paper there will be an explanation to what distinguishes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, it is a fallacy to assume that just because two events are correlated they tend to cause each other also. Unfortunately, it is often a very difficult matter to distinguish true causal relationship; the only way to get close to finding the truth is to rule out certain alternative hypotheses, thereby strengthening the case of causation. Still, this method may be unattainable to a certain extent considering the fact that there may be multiple factors contributing to an outcome or that some things may have both a direct and indirect effect, or perhaps, simply acknowledging that there may be more than just one answer to the ... What are the general principles behind establishing a workplace lactation program? If there is going to be accommodations at work to establish a workplace lactation program it needs to convenient for the women. It also needs to be private, have an electrical outlet and a chair. In addition, you might want to provide: magazines, paper towels, mirrors and a clock. I think it s important to establish a workplace lactation program because according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, employed women are less likely to breastfeed for a shorter length of time than women who aren t employed. African American men gained 3.7 pounds compared to African American females and white men who gained 2.2 pounds. These testees were affected by sleep deprivation after 5 consecutive nights and as a result they ate more fatty foods. Currently I have a pretty unchanging sleep pattern because of school. Since I am an athlete I make sure I get enough sleep to repair my body. However, sometimes if I have a lot of homework or it s a weekend I tend to stay up later. As a result, for the next few nights I can t fall asleep until that same I stayed up. When I do have to stay up late studying or am with friends out late, I notice that is when I am the hungriest and constantly eat snacks. For example, when I came back from Australia my sleep pattern was messed up for weeks. Luckily this was in the summer, but I couldn t fall until 4 am and would wake up at 2 pm everyday. As a result I didn t know what I should eat at 2pm because it was way past breakfast time and lunch time so I would eat snacks throughout the entire day/night. I found that during these few weeks I didn t want to workout because it was already so hot outside by 2pm and so I just stayed in the AC all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Ambiguity Of Biological Toxins Nelsen et al. (2014) presents and discusses what the authors believe to be the inconsistencies among the definitions of poisons, venoms, and toxins, as well as the conflation, or mixing, of these terms within the literature. The three primary classes of toxins, biological, anthropogenic, and environmental, are defined and distinguished so that the authors can further discern the biological toxins using their own classification scheme (Nelsen et al. 2014). Nelsen et al. (2014) presents the necessity of their three class scheme, which they proposed due to the terminological inconsistencies within and among the literature on biological toxins. I think implementing a new term to detract from the misconstruction of existing toxicological definitions would be constructive, especially with the proposed corresponding binomial classification system. This review aims to discuss the breadth and functionality of the Nelsen et al. (2014) categorization of toxins. Through their new categorical binomial nomenclature system, based on source, delivery mechanism, and storage of toxins, Nelsen et al. (2014) introduces a novel term within the biological toxins to further reduce the ambiguity of toxicological definitions such as venom and poison. Toxungen, or a toxic ointment as stated by Nelsen et al. (2014), is a toxic substance which is actively delivered to the surface of the antagonizing organism and affects without the necessitation of a wound. With the introduction of the term, toxugen, ... Sex is always considered a taboo and controversial topic, whereas most think they know something about love, and they re more than willing to give others unwanted free advice. However, very few people talk about both in depth together. Last Night by Sharon Olds and Seniors by Alberto Rios cover a variety of topics, but most importantly they both cover loveand sex. More specifically, they cover both what the male and female thoughts are about sex, what their expectations are during the act, and where love comes into play. • 8. Essay about Macular Degeneration Macular Degeneration Condition: Macular Degeneration is a problem in the part of the eye that controls your sharpest central vision. It is a group of diseases that result in a loss of detailed vision. The brain will not just leave the spot empty, so it learns to fill it in with spotty macular cell damage. People most of the time don t tell their doctors (opthalmologists) about it until it is well in advance. There are two types of Macular Degeneration. Juvenile Macular Degeneration affects the central vision in young children. This takes place in the macula, or the central region of the retina. The retina is where we are able to read and to distinguish colors. The main symptoms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wet Macular Degeneration causes more severe loss of vision. Dry Macular Degeneration is the age related type. There is no proven cure for dry Macular Degeneration. Cause: Basically what my research is stating is that there is a major genetic component that contributes to this disease. There are three general types of hereditary Macular Degeneration. The first is called early onset. This is when you get it when you are four years of age up to seven. In this type both parents and their children can be affected. This means it is dominantly inherited. Most of the time this is called Best Disease or Viteliform Macular Degeneration. The second type is called middle onset. This is from five years of age up to twenty years of age. This type is called Stargarett s disease. This is the Juvenile Macular Degeneration. This type is recessively inherited. Meaning that this type can appear even if only a couple family members have it. The third type is called late onset. This is when you get it in your thirties or forties. This type may have dominant or recessive inheritance. Really the cause of Macular Degeneration is unknown. Recently researchers have discovered that a group of genes called ABCR contribute to the disease. When someone has these genes the likeliness of this person to form Macular Degeneration increases by 30 percent. In most situations Macular Degeneration is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

British Airways And Ryanair And The Airline Industry Introduction In today s business world, Aviation industry is frequently developing rapidly in order to compete among each other and survive in the larger markets leading to aggregate competition between low cost/no frills carriers LCC and the more traditional full service carriers FSC (Hunter: 2006). Due to rapid development, consumer trend tend to improve in the market because flying on mainstream carriers was no longer cost effective, therefore, low cost carrier was introduced (Whitelegg: 2005). • 10. The Life Of The World By Fr. Alexander Schmemann For the Life of the World authored by Fr. Alexander Schmemann an Orthodox priest was originally intended as a study guide in the 1970 s for students preparing themselves for Missionary work, giving them a world view , helping to speak about Christian view points along with an approach to how they coalesce through the eyes of the Orthodox Church. A key theme Fr. Schmemann discussed is Secularism, which he believes developed from our progressive alienation of the Christian culture. Additionally, he presents his interpretation of the transforming biblical themes of creation, fall, and redemption through a sacramental understanding. Fr. Schmemann s experiences within the Orthodox Church liturgy reveal unity in the meanings of these three themes. It is through these understandings he believes can effectively offset the disastrous effects of secularism while revitalizing the sacramental understanding of the world. The author divided the book into seven chapters, each building upon one another; The Life of the world, The Eucharist, The Time of Mission, Of Water and the Spirit, The Mystery of Love, Trampling Down death by death, and Ye Are Witnesses of These Things. Moreover, two Appendices follow the chapters: Worship in a Secular Age and Sacraments and Symbol. In particular, Fr. Schmemann opens by converging on the ostensibly minor theme of nourishment, even quoting famed philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach s phrase. Man is what he eats. Anti religious groups attempt to portray ... • 12. Napoleon Bonaparte Napoleon Bonaparte or should I say the Son of the Revolution , I believe was both a preserver and a destroyer of the French Revolution. In fact, In a sense, Napoleon brought the revolution to an end in 1799, but he was also a child of the revolution (Spielvogel 544, 1). Napoleon had helped the French peopleand the French government in various ways; nevertheless, Napoleon thought that constantly the people owed him. I think that this is how he acted like a child. Napoleon became commander of the French army in 1796 in Italy. Since he was now the commander he was reliable to do what he had to for the French without the people owing him anything. Moreover, from the time he became commander he had fought and won numerous wars beginning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Europe at one time did have factories which were stocked with quite expensive items, but because of other companies taking over them prices fell and people were left unemployed. Europe had a high death rate because of lack of food and terrible living conditions. In Europe there was a lot of poverty whereas in Great Britain there was not. Because of emigrants coming from all over to Europe especially, people from Ireland, Europe s population began to grow. It was then that Europe soon would be exposed to experience industrialization. How did the Industrial Revolution affect the family, the role of women, and living conditions? The Industrial Revolution affected families in countless different ways. For the bulk of people who were in the working class lived in small houses. Considering that these houses were so small, the people in them would be crammed together. There were 63 families where there were at least five persons to a bed; and there were some in which even six were packed in one bed, lying at the top and bottom children and adults (Spievogel 569, 1). The houses were unsanitary and the people from the working class were more likely to come in contact with a disease. The people of the working class were not as physically healthy looking because they did not eat and live as well as the middle class or wealthy did. Fault prediction in a quantitative way of different Types of Inheritance on the Object Oriented Software Metrics Osama ur Rehman, Malik Imran Sabir Computer Software Engineering Department, Bahria University Karachi, Pakistan osamaurrehman@gmail.com malik_imrans@yahoo.com Abstract Software testing of a system is a most critical process. Fault prediction models automatically identify fault prone classes before testing. These models we can be used to reduce duration of testing, risk in projects, resources and infrastructure costs. Such predictions can be used to target improvement efforts to those modules that need it the most. The application of metrics to build models can assist to focus quality improvement efforts to modules that are likely to be faulty during operations. In this paper we study fault prediction in a quantitative way for different types of inheritance. We also studied that how this fault can be predicted with multi level inheritance. Keywords fault prediction, OO metrics, prediction models, multi level inheritance, software engineering, fault prone classes I.INTRODUCTION One of the most important factors when developing software is the early detection of faulty software for reducing development cost and assuring software quality. • 14. Romanticism During The Romantic Period The Romantic Period Romanticism (1820 1900) in music was brought to the world during the early nineteenth century. This music stressed emotion, imagination, and individualism. The Romantic period was about freedom of expression and breaking away from time honored conventions. This period in time had influenced many, or even all of the arts. Painters used bolder and more brilliant colors in their works. Also, they had preferred dynamic motion to gracefully balanced poses. Poetry was also changed during the Romantic Period. Emotional subjectivity was a basic quality in every type of art during this time. Many artists had become romantics and had become drawn to the realm of fantasy: the unconscious, the irrational, and the world of dreams. Romantics were fascinated with the Middle Ages, the time of chivalry and romance. What neoclassicists had thought of to be the dark ages , the romantics had cherished. The ... Looking back over the list of characteristics discussed above one can readily see that despite the fact that Romanticism was not nearly as coherent a movement as the Enlightenment, and lacked the sort of programmatic aims the latter professed, it was even more successful in changing history changing the definition of what it means to be human. More explicitly, they have had a fascination with straightening their hair. The need to be accepted by the majority class has caused them to do so. Though the image of straight hair as being better than coarse hair still hasn t left the Black community, there has been a surge of non straight hairstyles since the nineteen sixties. Lighter Blacks (especially women) were perceived to be more attractive, more intelligent, and more acceptable to the White community. Darker skinned Blacks were perceived to be the opposite. This was deposited upon the culture during the slave era. Hair texture also became an issue within the Black community, as lighter, straighter hair was perceived to be nicer, and coarse, thick hair was perceived to be bad, ugly. The afro movement in the 60 s challenged this ideology. In the 60 s, natural hair meaning coarse and thick, began to signify intelligence, Black power, and resistance to the majority culture, overall enlightenment. This image was reborn in the late 1990s. Newer options for natural hairstyles and the increasing acceptance of dreadlocks reinitiated a type of anti chemically relaxed hair movement. The story follows the adventures of a larger than life character named Beowulf. This character is famous for slaying monstrous beasts, having incredible strength, and qualities considered optimal in the world of the Germanic tribes. Beowulf relates to Herricks poem because like many of the warriors in his day, they held Epicurean beliefs. The Germanic people believed that death is final and that there is no afterlife. Their warriors were only interested in finding treasures of their enemies and honor from their king. They fought to earn riches and armor and any other thing that they desired. Beowulf was one of these men as well. When he killed the beast Grendel, he took his arm and hung it from the rafters for everybody to see. When he went to kill the Dragon, he knew that he would not be coming back from the battle alive. He said that if he died, he wanted a massive tower built to him to honor him. In the battle with the dragon, he is mortally wounded. As he is dying, he tells his friend Wiglaf to bring over the dragons treasure so he can see it before he dies. This proves perfectly that Beowulf and his fellow warriors are concerned with earthly things (riches) and enjoy earthly things. Summary Of For That He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne The poem, For That He Looked Not upon Her by George Gascoigne exemplifies how the speaker suffered from love, something that many people believe one should feel positive about. The title delivers a despairing tone by allowing the audience to believe that the speaker can no longer look the woman he loved in the eye. Conflicting with the despairing tone, the speaker develops a complex attitude with the use of structure, metaphors, diction, and desire. The structure and tone of the poem enhance the conflict and hopelessness the speaker is feeling towards the woman he loves and desires. For the first twelve lines of the poem there is an abab rhyming pattern. This ties into the despairing and desirable tone and how the rhyming scheme can be an example of the speaker constantly going back and forth between emotions for this women. For example, And that mine eyes take no delight to range About the gleams which on your face do grow. (Gascoigne 3 4) are two phrases that contradict the speakers feelings. Stating that his eyes take no delight in range can refer to the speaker finding no use or happiness in looking at the woman. Although, he then mentions the gleams upon her face growing, giving the audience the idea that even though the speakers lovefor the woman causes him deep despair, he still desires her enough to describe her features in attentive detail; in this example the gleams on her face. Natural selection affects every living thing in the world. There are the examples of animals blending into their environment to hide from predators. • 26. Serial Murder And Mass Murder Before we can take on the definitions of serial murder and mass murder, we must first understand what exactly constitutes murder. According to the United States Code section 1111, murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought (4). With that said, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the term serial murderimplies that there are at least three different murder events at three different locations, with a cooling off period between each event (Ramsland, 2009). Individuals who perpetrate the crimeof serial murder are referred to as serial killers. The term serial killerwas coined in the mid 1970s by Robert Ressler, the former director of the FBI s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. He chose the name serial killer because authorities in England called these types of murders crimes in a series (Freeman, 2007). John Wayne Gacy, known as the Killer Clown, who tortured, raped and murdered 33 men between 1972 and 1978 is an example of a serial killer. On the other hand, mass murder is defined as four or more murders occurring during a particular event with no cooling off period between the murders. A mass murder typically occurs in a single location in which a number of victims are killed by an individual (2). An example of a mass murder would be the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing perpetrated by Timothy McVeigh, in which 168 people were killed. While serial murder has a definition that contains certain ... As discussed below, Dodd Frank seeks to address the highly sensitive and controversial notion that Wall Street banks have been designated by the Federal Reserve as too big to fail. In fact, during the most severe moments of the crisis, the voices of free market proponents could be heard advocating that these troubled big banks, suffering massive losses due to their own bad bets, and if weakened to the point of failure, should be allowed to fail. Hindsight shows that allowing just one to fail, Lehman Brothers, had serious and lasting detrimental effect on the US and global financial system and markets. Had Lehman been saved, it would have been the most effective agent to unwind all of the transactions and trades to which it was a party, and likely in a rapid manner. However, being thrust into bankruptcy, and thereafter receivers were appointed to unwind the business, took months upon months and vast resources to settle Lehman accounts. Had Citibank, Bank of America, Bear Stearns, or AIG been allowed to fail, it may have been possible that the US financial system would have melted down completely. Freemasonrytherefore seemed very appealing as it taught ways of conveying ancient wisdom and virtue), and The growth against the reasoning of Rationalism and Enlightenment as well as the fascination for nature s secrets which brings about a mystical, magical and even occult exaltation. As secret societies is the topic at hand, i d like to start by speaking about secret societies before continuing with the classification of secret societies for the purpose of developing the discussion. Secrecy is defined as an exclusion of reciprocal knowledge by members of associations and the concealment is premeditated. As having full knowledge of any information is trusting, the complete absence means distrust. It is very natural for us to understand that what is forbidden is permitted and for what is not permitted is forbidden. Secrecy is one of the greatest accomplishments of humanity as the purposeful concealment and aggression against the other party is most effective with negative and positive outcomes. Later that year, someone asked me what my favorite book was and, without hesitation, I responded Lord of the Flies. After Piggy s death, the rest of the littluns, that had been with Ralph, join Jack s group, less out of fear of a beast and more out of fear of Jack. This isolation, the contempt Jack feels towards Ralph, and the unnerving power that Jack holds over the rest of the boys culminates in the final hunt, where Jack orders the boys to track down and kill Ralph. Such a moment does not occur in The Coral Island. Throughout Ballantyne s novel, the boys remain friends and trusted companions. When Ballantyne s Ralph is kidnapped by pirates, the boys mourn him, thinking he has died. Ralph and Peterkin never question Jack s judgements or plans. Peterkin is always included in conversations, despite his young age, and respected. When Ralph contemplates how they managed to be so agreeable he comes to a conclusion: There was, indeed, no discord whatever in the symphony we played together on that sweet Coral Island; and I am now persuaded that this was owing to our having been all tuned to the same key namely, that of love! Yes, we loved one another with much fervency while we lived on that island; and, for a matter of that, we love each other still (Ballantyne 109). Fittingly, the final image of Ballantyne s boys is of them travelling together towards England, their home. Jack and Ralph s relationship, from Lord of the Flies, is more complex: They walked along, two continents of experience and feeling, unable to communicate. Not yet quite adults, with less understanding of laws, there is a complicated balance that must be struck between their having to answer to their crimes and holding them accountable for their actions while still being cognizant of the fact that they do not always possess the mental capacity to fully understand their criminal behavior as wrong. Juvenile courts today attempt to balance the punitive and rehabilitative needs of youths. One such way to do this is the development of juvenile diversion programs. In Trevor B. According to the Kentucky Court of Justice article titled Court Designated Workers Make A Difference , juvenile diversion can consist of restitution, community service, curfew, counseling, educational seminar attendance, and drug/alcohol assessments (2014). An example of a current jurisdiction implementing diversion for youths is the Kentucky Juvenile Court. In Kentucky, as with other states, detained youths entering diversion are placed into several programs to get their lives back on track. These programs stem from law related education to other programs, such as leadership, community outreach, being all you can be, making it on your own and creative arts (2014). The basic goal of juvenile diversion is to educate youth, instill a sense of accountability, and lessen deterrence. If compliance is met, cases are dismissed and formal proceedings become unnecessary (2014). Indeed, as summed up by Milton, the main objectives of juvenile diversion are to avoid labeling, reduce unnecessary detention and incarceration, reduce repeat offenses, provide counseling and other services, and to lower justice system costs (Milton, 2011, p. 32). The ruling out on share repurchases was as a final point added into the common law in Trevor v Whithworth. The prevention was afterward enacted in companies legislation in England and subsequently in the different Commonwealth countries, as well as Australia. The Act integrated two requirements of particular consideration to the Lords. Firstly, there was a condition that the company should give its nominal capital.
