Lab Report On The Bacteria
Introduction
The primary goal of this lab was to notice the bacteria growth in each tube/plates and to be able to
properly inoculated the media to get a good result.
Materials
4 Nutrient Broths
4 Agar Slants
4 Agar Deeps
4 Petri Dish
1 loop and needle
Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus Samples
Procedures
1. Label all of the tubes and petri dishes with the name of the bacteria and my lab partner and I initial,
but leave one of each media as a control and label it with the letter C.
2. Sterilize loop or needle
3. Using the loop grab a sample of B.S and streak it onto the first plate. Second plate and third plate
you repeat the same steps, but instead using one for E.C. and the other one for S.A.
4. For the three nutrient broth you first sterilize the loop and grab a sample of B.S and inoculated by
spinning it in a circular motion inside the tube and then repeat the same method for the other two
bacteria.
5. The next thing is to grab your Agar slant tube, sterilize the loop, take a sample of B.S and inoculate
it inside the tube and gently do a snakelike motion from bottom to the top. Repeat the steps for the
other bacteria.
6. Lastly, for the Agar deep, sterilize the needle, grab a sample of B.S and inoculated it by simply
pushing the needle straight down about three quarters and then slowly bring the needle out. Repeat the
same steps for the other two bacteria.
7. Inoculate the media s in 35oC until the next lab period.

Saint Louis University is located in Saint Louis, Missouri. There are 3 million people living in the
metropolitan area of Saint Louis. Some people may think that 3 million people is too massive for a
college town, nevertheless, that population may make it even better than a college town. There is a
considerable amount of attractions around the Saint Louis area that makes Saint Louis University a
pleasurable place to go to college. Conveniently near campus is Forest Park. Forest Park is larger than
the New York City s Central Park. Within Forest Park there are the Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint

A few of the places one could potentially work at would be Starbucks, Chick Fil A, or even on
campus. Starbucks may be a considerable career in the future while a college student. To work at
Starbucks one would only have to have basic knowledge. For example, one must be able to construct
diverse drinks, able to perform numerous different tasks, and the ability to learn promptly. The
average salary at Starbucks ranges from $9.00 $12.00. However, there are many benefits when
working at Starbucks. Working 20 hours or less grant benefits which include a 401(k), bonuses, and
discounted stock purchase options ( Working at Starbucks ). Another career possibility is Chick Fil A.
A career here may give one several stupendous benefits. For example, Chick Fil A gives out $1,000

Essay on Sports Specialization
Sports Specialization
Sports are a popular pastime among all ages and types of people. People not only participate in them
for fun, but also for money, physical fitness, rush of competition, and for many other personal reasons.
Playing sports is especially common among young people in schools. Athletics are great and enjoyable
for many reasons, but there can be a point where sports participation can go too far and become
negative for children and adults. Sports specialization for young people is an increasing trend that
results in sports having a negative impact on individuals and society.
Sports specialization among young people is when a child or teenager trains for and competes in only
one sport. They work extremely hard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that young people now have the opportunity to get into professional sports at a younger age
now encourages this trend. If a young person is very successful at a sport, the media will rave on about
them and the publicity will only force them to work harder. Freddy Adu, a thirteen year old soccer
sensation, is getting large amounts of publicity for his remarkable skills (Goodall, 2003). He has been
featured in Sports Illustrated where he was referred to as the prodigy of American soccer (Wahl,
2003). Newsweek has also included articles about this remarkable soccer player, calling him a preteen
phenom (Starr, 2004). ESPN Soccernet also reported information about his amazing skills (Goodall,
2003). The publicity of Adu is making this young athlete a star and keeping other young athletes
focused on similar opportunities for themselves.
All of the publicity that is attained by success, and the possibility of this success, places a great deal of
pressure and stress on these young single sport athletes. This stress and pressure takes the fun out of
some sports. Youth sports are becoming serious and based more on winning than on having a great
time and learning good sportsmanship. Adu points out the winning mindset of athletes in this day and
age when he says, Teams will do anything to win the game. My coach told me to expect that going in
and that is exactly how it was. . .I felt like everybody was out to get me (Goodall, 2003). This

Mere Christianity Analysis

Mere Christianity
In C.S Lewis novel, Mere Christianity, he dives into the differences that can be within a moral code,
while also proving that they are all the same that the base. Lewis also tries to answer a question that
does not have a simple and clear cut answer: why do we feel bad when we misbehave, if everyone
misbehaves?
Early in book one, the focus is on what we feel and what those emotions mean. He uses an example of
hearing someone call for help. There would be three feelings. First, a desire to help. Second, a desire
to keep out of danger. And third, a gut feeling that the first desire is right and the second desire is
wrong. Therefore, morality may be related to instinct, but it is not a one to one result of it. Also, there
is no instinct that is moral all the time without fail, further proving that instinct does not equal
morality. One example that resonated the most while going through this book was Lewis point bout
the Salem witch trials and how one can use this to argue the consistency, or lack thereof, of morality.
One could say that these trials are proof how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He explains that Christianity is not meant to be simple or generic. Some critics of the religion
complain that it is too complicated, but there is then the follow up point that life is not simple, so why
should religion be? Christianity forces people to put trust in the unpredictable, and sometimes makes
them act outside of their instinct. For most of the second book, Lewis goes very deep into the
fundamentals of Christianity and what he believes. He has many viewpoints that are not widely
accepted in the general world of faith, but it most definitely makes the brain work a little harder. He
explains his reasoning behind some of these rules and views in book three of the novel, and he also
works through some of the stereotypes of the

Computer Algebra Systems ( Cas )
Introduction About CAS Calculator Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) were first introduced in the
early 1970s on large frame computers and are now accessible on a hand held CAS calculator that is
increasing in popularity and affordability for high school students (Kendal, 2006). The CAS calculator
is a multi representational too with symbolic, graphical and numeric capabilities and a large variety of
procedural skills that include calculus, drawing graphs, and the execution of numerical, vector, matrix,
and statistical calculations (Zbiek, Heid Hirsch, 2009). The CAS calculator is a powerful dynamic tool
that offers opportunities of learning new concepts and experiences and allows teachers to use the CAS
to help students focus on either a more targeted or a global view of their work with symbolic
representations, depending on the instructional goal (Zbiek, Heid Hirsch, 2009). Bert Waits, co‐
founder of T3 (Teachers Teaching with Technology) mentioned that graphing calculator is a great
pedagogical tool as it offers multi‐representational approaches in teaching and learning of

An Investigation On Apples Tax Practices
Therefore, after immense speculation the EU opened an investigation on Apples tax practices in
Ireland. After an extensive investigation the EU issued a ruling that Apple must pay the Irish
government up to 13 million Euros in back corporate taxes. Apple is appealing the EU ruling indicting
that they did not violate any laws and should not be forced to pay back taxes. However the most
startling aspect of the case is that Ireland is actually siding with Apple and going against the EU. On
the flip side when you look at the intricacies of the situation Irish government is showing solidarity
with Apple because it is well aware of the benefits of having Apple conducting business in Ireland.
The Irish government knows that if Apple is forced to pay back taxes that they will conduct
significantly less business in Ireland which would hurt the Irish economy in the long run.

Affordable Care Act Research Paper

11 September 2017
The road to the Affordable Care Act has been difficult and extensive based on past health reform
attempts by previous administrations. You can date back to the Truman administration after World War
II, this was an initial attempt to increase healthcare accessibility. President Truman proposed universal
health insurance, but Congress didn t pass the Bill. President Eisenhower didn t make efforts for
universal health insurance like his predecessor, but his administration made slight health reform
proposals such as funding healthcare for military dependents and health insurance benefits for social
security dependents. The Kennedy Administrations laid the framework for Medicare by ... Show more

During this time, Senator Kennedy made the first attempt since the Kennedy Administration to make
efforts towards a major health reform. President Nixon s National Health Insurance Act was in
competition in Congress with Senator Kennedy s Health Security Act. The Health Security Act would
be like Medicare for All financed by a federal single payer. This program would end the need for
premiums and private health insurance. The Health Security act didn t make it far in Congress, but it
was good to resurface the topic of universal health insurance since the Truman Administration.
(Markel, 2015)
The Watergate Scandal of the 1970 s consumed most of the Ford Administrations efforts, so little was
done under the administration towards health reform. Luckily, the Carter Administration brought back
the idea of universal healthcare and the American Medical Association slightly began to support the
idea for the first time. Due to the United States being in a recession at the time, Congress didn t give
President Carter s plan much attention. The economic issues the United States faced caused the
Reagan administration to not make any progress towards a major health reform as well. President
Regan actually went in the opposite direction and cut a lot of government funding on healthcare; those
cuts mainly affected physician and hospital reimbursements. However, the Regan Administration
passed the Medicare Catastrophic Act through Congress, which expanded Medicare benefits

Garden Hoses
Choosing a garden hose has been a problem in the past because people aren t really sure what type,
size, and length they ll need. The most important piece of information to remember is having the right
type and size for the right job is vital. This article will help you understand the differences in garden
hoses and how one could possibly be better than another. All garden hoses are not created equal and
depending on the type of work it will be used for, it will be important to find one that is versatile,
functional, and will last a long time. * Garden Hose Sizes The standard garden size will come in either
a 5/8 or 1/2 inch. This is not the size of the end, this is only the size of the inside diameter itself. The
basic end size is a 3/4 lawn and garden thread where it connects to your garden faucet. Many people
are not aware that the 3/4 size is not the same as pipe thread. Although sometimes you may get it to

nothing more frustrating than to turn on your garden hose and it leaks because it wasn t taken care of

The Dangers Of Residential Schools In Canada
80 Residential schools were developed and established all across Canada in 1931, and slowly over the
years, about 150 000 First Nation students attend the different schools. This happened because many
believed that education was one of the biggest factors to assimilation, and so the Canadian Parliament
changed the Indian Act requiring all children, ranging the ages of seven to fifteen to go to school . The
biggest concerns for the Indigenous at the time was that they had to trek thousands of kilometres from
home to the nearest school, unknown of the dangers these parents were sending their children into. At
these academic schools, English was stressed to speak when interacting with others while native
tongue and language was banned , due to the fact, most of these schools were ran by churches. Also
because these schools were ran by these churches, Christian religion and ideals were emphasized,
while Aboriginal Spirituality and culture was condemned. These poor kids were separated from
everything they knew about growing up, and they just threw them into a curriculum and material that
is so very different from what they knew and would get penalize from not understanding and would
feel like they were an outsider. And they would have to deal with this on the daily. And what made it
worse was the fact that many of these teachers were harsh and cruel towards these students, hurting
them physically, mentally or sexually, causing trauma they d never forget in their lives. The

This meeting between computer scientists of both European and America s largest DNA sequencing
centres using almost identical laboratory techniques, databases and data analysis tools found that no
interchangeable data could be achieved to meaningfully compare results. The solution was an
informatic core, providing computer support and data basing services for affiliated laboratories.
Additionally, it provided developed data analysis and management software for use by the genome
community. A simple Perl based data exchange format was formed in partnership with this core to
allow loosely coupled programs to attach to a pipe based I/O stream and use tag/value pairs to easily
reach into an input stream, pull out tags of interest, manipulate them and then drop new tags into the
output stream. Tags that weren t of interest were passed through a standard input so that other
programs in the pipeline could reach them. With interchanging data, a common data exchange format
was created to contain a superset of data that each analysis and editing tools needed. Two Perl scripts
were made for each module and were responsible for converting formats which simplified the
programming and maintenance of tasks considerably. Stein (1996) advocates that Perl was used as the

The purpose of this lab is to analysis goldfish an ectothermic animal affect toward different
temperature ranges. The reactions toward the temperatures are taken upon the term of homeostasis,
which is regulation for organisms to maintain a steady state while adapting to the conditions that are
favorable for survival (Encyclopedia Britannica). In order to achieve a successful homeostasis, many
animals use different methods of thermoregulation, which helps maintain the internal temperature of
animals. Many methods vary whether the organisms is an endotherm or ectoderm. An endotherm,

The respiration rate of the goldfish is done through their gills where there is a collection of dissolved
oxygen from the water and a release of carbon dioxide (shmoop); this is a way for the organism to
exchange gases in their environment (Campbell, 889). During the experiment there are some variables
to consider that affect the result such as the dependent variables: the healthy of goldfish, and size.
While the independent variables is time. The affect of different temperatures to the goldfishes

Censorship Is Monitoring Or Withholding Information Essay
Censorship is monitoring or withholding information. The information can come from a book, drama,
media, or any other form of entertainment; but it is usually considered a threat to the consumer. Yet the
consumer is not always the audience. Sometimes the threat is to a politician or government official.
The debate over topics in the realm of what is acceptable and what should be banned only continues to
rise as more taboo topics become acceptable. Some argue that keeping certain things behind closed
doors is imperative for a harmonious living place. Others say that a small discourse is critical to
remain sane. Censorship is a way of protecting society from itself. Leaders and parental figures can
make the choice to monitor what is read, watched, and consumed, but until the world lives the life
worthy of a children s book the effort is futile. While the narrative being taught may be inappropriate
or harsher it doesn t decrease the value of it.
Arguments are shown throughout everyday life over every topic. The question isn t, When will society
stop fighting the norm? The question is, When will society stop fighting change? The world evolves
with every second. With that evolution society blurs the line with what is acceptable and not. Sixty
years ago the idea of two boys kissing was the equivalent of burning a baby in church on a Sunday
morning. Today, two men kissing is celebrated with its own parade. Social norms and ideals have been

Graph s Effect On Water Temperature
Graph 1 suggests that, during the 2002 03 El Niño event, the water temperature at 50 and at 100
meters below sea surface remained similar from July 18 to September 29 of 2002; however, the water
temperature at 100 meters below the surface was slightly colder. After that date range, the water
temperature at 100 meters below the surface decreased by ≈5 °C while the temperature at 50 meters
below the surface remained constant throughout the entire length of time. The water temperature at
200 meters below the surface remained colder than at 50 and 100 meters below sea level and
continued to decrease at a gentle slope from July 18 to December 5, by ≈5 °C. A temperature increase
of ≈2 °C was observed from December 5 to January 16.
As indicated by Graph 2, the water temperatures at 50 and 100 meters below sea level differed by
≈4±1 °C from each other, and decreased at similar slopes. The temperature at 100 meters below sea
level remained colder than that at a 50 meter deepth. The water temperature at 200 meters below sea
level remained ≈10±2 °C lower than that of the other two depth temperatures. From August 1 to
August 15, the temperatures at 50, 100, and 200 meter depths remained mostly constant with no more
than ≈1°C variations. A second consistency between the three depths was that all three graphs have
positive slopes, from September 12 to September 26, which became negative from September 26 to
October 10. In this time range, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Stereotypes Of Mass Murderers
Mass murderers are categorized either as organized or unorganized, and inside of each type are three
subtypes. Organized killers could be disciple, pseudo commando, or set and run, while unorganized
killers could be family annihilators, disgruntled employees, or spree killers. A disciple killer is
someone who follows the dictates of a charismatic leader, such as Jim Jones. Jones led his cult of The
People s Temple to mass suicide killing 900 of his followers. His followers drank a cyanide ¬laced
punch to commit suicide. Pseudo commandos are people who are preoccupied with weaponry on a
killing. An example is James Huberty, who killed 22 people at a McDonald s restaurant in San Ysidro
using a 9 mm semiautomatic, a Winchester pump action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The traits are either physical, psychological, social, emotional, or sexual. Physical traits include their
age, sex, and skin color. For example, Bonnie was a 23 year old white female and Clyde was a 23 year
old white male. Paranoia, depression, narcissism, suicidal, delusional, and substance abuse all fall
under the psychological category. Dylann Storm Roof is a 21 year was the perpetrator of the 2015
Charleston church shooting in which he killed 9 African Americans. He later stated that he hated
African Americans so he killed them out of hate and that he was trying to ignite a race war (Navarro).
The next trait is social, which include being anti social, failing at love or school, or being bullied.
Christopher Sean Harper‐Mercer was the gunman at the Umpqua community college shooting in
Oregon. After the shooting, his neighbors reported that they never saw Mercer with any friends or
girlfriends and that he would always sit outside on the balcony with very little light (Mai Duc). In the
emotional side, they see themselves as victims and they have no remorse or regret. For instance,
Hitler. Violent fantasies and the desire to be intimate are part of the sexual traits. Elliot Rodger killed 6
people before taking his own life on May 23, 2014. His reasons were that he wanted to punish women
for rejecting him and to punish sexually active men for living a more enjoyable life than

Parable Of Despair By Octavia Butler
Thomas Sweeny Wong
Period 5
Parable of Despair
The world is dying.
There is too much injustice.
We need to fix it. Thomas Sweeny Wong
The future is tough to predict. Parable of the Sower is a very well written science fiction novel by
Octavia Butler. The setting is California in the year 2025. The world is not prosperous anymore and
has turned into a poverty stricken place. There are countless homeless people, jobs are scarce, and
there are very few communities of homes. The few communities that are still occupied have huge
walls with barbed wire and laser wire surrounding them. There are robberies, murders, and rapes just
about every day. People walk the streets naked and bloody because their clothes were stolen or they
could never find any. Some people live in the hills like animals. They kill anything that comes along,
human or not, for food and to protect their territory. Some of these people are drug addicts who create
fires for their own satisfaction. Everyone who has a chance to live must carry a gun so no one can
harm or try to do anything to them. In this society the police do not help because you have to pay them
to come to the scene of a crime. Most people cannot afford to pay their fees so they handle whatever
they can on their own. The protagonist of this story, Lauren, decides to leave this society for
something better an forms a spiritual group called Earthseed. The word earthseed is actually a
metaphor.

The Constitution Is Fundamental Law Of The United States...
A) The US Constitution is fundamental law of the United States, and in the present, it is composed of
seven articles and twenty seven amendments. The three things I like most about the US constitution
are the 1st Amendment, the 10th Amendment, and separation of power. The 1st Amendment are
composed of two clause which are establishment clause and free exercise clause. It provides a
freedom of speech, assembly, religion and press. Those basic rights are given to people, and it shouldn
t threaten by government. Each individual should be respected and treated. The second one is the 10th
Amendment which is some power is granted to the state called reserved power. By states have some
power, it is easily to manage own states because individual states has different ideas, and values. In
addition, it is hard to set the same law in each states because of the population differences and
religious differences. In addition, it can prevent national government has too much power over the
state power. The third thing I like about the US constitution is separation of power. By separating
power within Executive, Judicial, and Legislative, it can prevent to have too much power in one
branch. In addition, by separating power, each of branch can check another branch. As a result, they
can balance each other. B) The Japanese constitution is composed of 11 chapters, and 103 articles. It
was drafted by Supreme Commander for the Allied Power, after Japan lost World War Two. The

Difference Between Private And Private Schools
Central Catholic school, Columbian Christian school, Jim Bridger school and David Douglas School.
So many different schools. How does a parent choose? Education is undoubtedly is an issue with
different opinions when deciding between private and public schools. Our country is a country of
contrasts, economically, socially and geographically. Education is the action or process of impacting
knowledge to another (Merriam Webster) with trained teachers, good books, updated technology and a
high quality curriculum. The public schools are institutions open to all kinds of students without
monthly payments. For example, children with low income recourses, children with special needs
(Handicapped, MR condition), aggressive behavior, learning disabilities and most of the times these
institutions accept children whose English is not their native language. Students wear civilian cloths
and they are not required to purchase any type of uniform. Most of the time parents do not have to pay
for meals provided in schools or pay for any extra class given by the school. However, several of the
schools ask the parents to buy school supplies with the purpose of having a productive school year.
Second, private schools are institutions which are managed with the money of those parents who can
afford the high cost of each month. Parents not only pay the high tuition fees but also should have to
pay for school supplies, regular uniforms, sport uniforms, food provided inside of these

Effects of Air Pollution in Delhi
Introduction
Air is the ocean we breathe. Air supplies us with oxygen which is essential for our bodies to live. Air
is 99.9% nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor and inert gases. Human activities can release substances into
the air, some of which can cause problems for humans, plants, and animals.
There are several main types of pollution and well known effects of pollution which are commonly
discussed. These include smog, acid rain, the greenhouse effect, and holes in the ozone layer. Each of
these problems has serious implications for our health and well being as well as for the whole
environment.
One type of air pollution is the release of particles into the air from burning fuel for energy. Diesel
smoke is a good example of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Data from continuous monitoring of air quality reveals that suspended particulate matter levels still far
exceed stipulated standards, there is a significant downward trend as indicated in the following tables.
Due to phenomenal growth in the number of motor vehicles Delhi and power generation based on a
fired power stations, total amount on coal fired power stations, and total amount of pollutants received
by the city is around 3000 tonnes as compared to 100 tonnes a decade ago. Sixty five percent of these
pollutants are produced by motor vehicles. Annual average maximum, levels of SPM in Delhi s air has
increased from 7.6 times the permissible limit in 1987 to 16.7 time in 1995.
The steep increase in vehicle population has resulted in a corresponding increase in pollutants emitted
by vehicles. Petrol consumption has increased from 133 thousands tons in 1980 81 to 449 thousand
tons in 1996 97 and HSD consumption from 377 thousands tons to 1,234 thousand tons during the
same period. Two wheelers, which constitute 66% of the vehicles registered in Delhi, are the major
source of air pollution.
Thermal power plants contribute to 13% of air pollution. The main pollutants are stack emissions; fly
ash generations and fugitive emission in coal handling. All thee thermal

Models and Theorists in Organizational Development
Edgar Schein Modification of the Three Stage Process:
Edgar Schein modified the three stage process through specifying the psychological mechanisms
involved in each stage.
In stage 1, unfreezing is where disconfirmation creates hassle and discomfort, which causes guilt and
anxiety and drives and motivates the person towards change. But unless the person feels comfortable
with dropping the old behaviors and adopting new ones then change will not occur. This means the
person must be psychologically safe in order to replace the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Waimea Beach Research Paper
It was a bright and sunny friday, school had just got out not 2 hours prior, and me and my family
decided to head to the beach to start the weekend off before heading back to school that following
monday. On our way there I realized they were heading to Waimea Beach which is a good 30 minutes
from my house. I love Waimea beach, and has to be one of my favorite I ve ever been to. We had just
pulled up and parked and I was making my way to a spot right by the water when I saw a big crowd.
That s when I realised what day it was, it was high tide day, which meant the water was high enough,
with crashing on us, so that people could jump. Waimea is known for many things there on the island,
the amazing shrimp and food trucks, the enormous waves, very very ideal and perfect place to surf,
and importantly that day, the cliff jump. This Cliff was well over 50 feet, had three different levels in
case you couldn t, or rather wouldn t jump from the top, and had water ... Show more content on

Curley s Wife Analysis
John Steinbeck describes Curley s wife as a woman who brings darkness into man s life as she is
being sexualized and heavily objectified through the story. Not to mention that there are many factors
that portrayed Curley s wife as the villain in the book or considered as the character that causes all the
problems as she creates tension among characters especially Lennie. All of her appearances cause the
reader to dislike her and be the downfall of men. The author uses this to prepare us for the death of
Curley s wife by the continuous use of foreshadowing, symbolism and other events that contributed to
the development of the idea that Curley s wife is going to be murdered.
Steinbeck introduces how Lennie s strength and the idea of his stupidity ... Show more content on

This quote describes how the event happened however, it was a misunderstanding because despite
Lennie s Stupidity he knows to differentiate between good and bad. He has the mentality of a child
which deprives him of having an emotional capacity to really understand what he is doing. By saying
he had conflicts with a girl or the attempts to touch her, we infer that later on, he is going to have
problems with a lady again. By the fact that Lennie all mixed up, and he holds on cause that s the only
thing he can think to do. (page 41) he holds and touches the girl s soft dress, but due to his lack of
attention, he didn t let go when asked to. It shows he is frightened and will hold to something until
George comes to rescue him and make him realize he is in trouble. Overall we can create a perception
that in the future Lennie will have some trouble with a girl, we can see he enjoys touching soft things,
which lead to Curley s wife offering to touch her hair and Lennie getting over excited that leads to her

The Debate On Abortion And Abortion
Abortion. This word leaves most people feeling uneasy after just saying it out loud. The discussion of
abortion is continuously left open ended with millions of opinions, arguments, and questions.
Abortions occur every single day leaving potential fathers devastated or thrilled, leaving friends and
families broken and distraught or in contrast, proud. More importantly, leaving the potential mother
uncertain and even destroyed. But with abortion in mind, what is considered wrong and what is
considered right? What is moral and what is immoral? Is all faith in humanity questioned at the sole
argument of either aborting or not aborting an unborn child? Moreover, who is granted the superior
authority on deciding what is morally correct or incorrect this day and age. As I said before,
bottomless questions and vast accusations tend to be the fuel for this fire. It is as if society is waiting
for the perfect, yet, moderate argument on abortion, tying up all of the loose ends and meeting
somewhere in between what is right and what is wrong when considering abortion rights. Is there even
a common ground of understanding when debating the existence of another human? The endless and
twisted argument continues to linger on, although Judith Jarvis Thomson s Defense of Abortion
communicated insightful views which in fact influenced my very own ideas on the argument of
abortion. As I was reading Thomson s, Defense on Abortion I found myself unsure and often
questioning the side she

Analysis Of King Henry V
By Shakespeare making audiences question this particular scene in the play and make Boudreaux 6
the distinction between the paths to win honor, readers and spectators can conclude that Shakespeare
still has a particular fondness for Hotspur over Prince Henry, due to the fact that Hotspur s actions are
identified as the proper way of earning honor. In the end, Prince Henry s intentions do become more
honorable, because he does come to care about the kingdom in Henry V, but initially; it is selfish
reasons that drove him to fight for honor. To continue the study of honor, Prince Henry becomes King
Henry V in Shakespeare s play King Henry V, and audiences see the continuation of the theme of
honor throughout the play. Fast forwarding to Act Four, Scene Three, audiences hear one of many
memorable speeches by King Henry V during his Crispin Day speech. King Henry V exclaims: This
story shall the good man teach his son, And Crispin Crispian shall ne er go by From this day to the
ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered, We few, we happy few, we band of brothers
For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother. (4.3.56 62) To recap, King Henry V is
telling his men that if they fight, they will become a brother to him, which means calling them his
equal. He tells them it does not matter if they live or die, because they will forever be remembered by
all. They will have

An Extension Of White Washed Americ Black History Month
An Extension of White Washed America: Black History Month
Intro: February is arguably one of the most popular months of the year. It has the fourth most
celebrated holiday, chocolates and candies are on sale, and it honors the central role of those of
African descent in U.S. history. This month is referred to as Black History Month. One moth to
celebrate ALL of black history. To celebrate our African ancestors who were chained and thrown on
ships. To celebrate our people enslaved on the plantations of the south. Our mothers, fathers, and
grandparents who march for us just so we could go to the same schools as white men. And our
unarmed brothers and sisters who are being shot without a cause or a reason any more than because a

However, Woodson never intended the month to be in recognition of black firsts and recognized icons.
The month was intended to be a stepping stone around the hate of the era and eventually have black
history included in the teachings of American history.
Woodson s vision for this observance was to show the African American people the work ethic,
entrepreneurship, and dignity evincive of our ancestors. He also wanted to use it as a way to progress
Caucasians past vicious stereotyping. Ultimately, it was supposed to be about unity and not create a
cultural divide based on ethnocentric pride. The need for Negro History Week in 1926 and Black
History Month in 1976 was self evident. But in 2017, is it potentially harming our causes and
movements? And I am in no way saying that Black pride is harming us. It seems that what used to be a
campaign around hate is inciting hateful backlash. From Beyoncé dressing as a black panther, to a
movement to make Black Lives Matter, to electing our very first black president.
While two of those are monumental, they shouldn t be an excuse for the blatant racism recently
coming into light. A racism that spent a couple decades hiding from the public until protected by the
imaginary shield of the internet and social media. And the worst thing about this racism is that very
rarely is it the racism we have come to know. It s conditional.
It s people saying all black people ever do is whine about how poorly their

People not only participate in them for fun, but also for money, physical fitness, rush of competition, and for many other personal reasons. Playing sports is especially common among young people in schools. Athletics are great and enjoyable for many reasons, but there can be a point where sports participation can go too far and become negative for children and adults. Sports specialization for young people is an increasing trend that results in sports having a negative impact on individuals and society. The fact that young people now have the opportunity to get into professional sports at a younger age now encourages this trend. If a young person is very successful at a sport, the media will rave on about them and the publicity will only force them to work harder. Freddy Adu, a thirteen year old soccer sensation, is getting large amounts of publicity for his remarkable skills (Goodall, 2003). He has been featured in Sports Illustrated where he was referred to as the prodigy of American soccer (Wahl, 2003). Newsweek has also included articles about this remarkable soccer player, calling him a preteen phenom (Starr, 2004). ESPN Soccernet also reported information about his amazing skills (Goodall, 2003). The publicity of Adu is making this young athlete a star and keeping other young athletes focused on similar opportunities for themselves. All of the publicity that is attained by success, and the possibility of this success, places a great deal of pressure and stress on these young single sport athletes. This stress and pressure takes the fun out of some sports. Youth sports are becoming serious and based more on winning than on having a great time and learning good sportsmanship. Adu points out the winning mindset of athletes in this day and age when he says, Teams will do anything to win the game. My coach told me to expect that going in and that is exactly how it was. . .I felt like everybody was out to get me (Goodall, 2003). This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Mere Christianity Analysis Grace Hardin Professor Laughter Business Ethics 24 September 2017 Mere Christianity In C.S Lewis novel, Mere Christianity, he dives into the differences that can be within a moral code, while also proving that they are all the same that the base. Lewis also tries to answer a question that does not have a simple and clear cut answer: why do we feel bad when we misbehave, if everyone misbehaves? Early in book one, the focus is on what we feel and what those emotions mean. He uses an example of hearing someone call for help. There would be three feelings. First, a desire to help. Second, a desire to keep out of danger. And third, a gut feeling that the first desire is right and the second desire is wrong. Therefore, morality may be related to instinct, but it is not a one to one result of it. Also, there is no instinct that is moral all the time without fail, further proving that instinct does not equal morality. One example that resonated the most while going through this book was Lewis point bout the Salem witch trials and how one can use this to argue the consistency, or lack thereof, of morality. One could say that these trials are proof how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He explains that Christianity is not meant to be simple or generic. Some critics of the religion complain that it is too complicated, but there is then the follow up point that life is not simple, so why should religion be? Christianity forces people to put trust in the unpredictable, and sometimes makes them act outside of their instinct. For most of the second book, Lewis goes very deep into the fundamentals of Christianity and what he believes. He has many viewpoints that are not widely accepted in the general world of faith, but it most definitely makes the brain work a little harder. He explains his reasoning behind some of these rules and views in book three of the novel, and he also works through some of the stereotypes of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Computer Algebra Systems ( Cas ) Introduction About CAS Calculator Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) were first introduced in the early 1970s on large frame computers and are now accessible on a hand held CAS calculator that is increasing in popularity and affordability for high school students (Kendal, 2006). The CAS calculator is a multi representational too with symbolic, graphical and numeric capabilities and a large variety of procedural skills that include calculus, drawing graphs, and the execution of numerical, vector, matrix, and statistical calculations (Zbiek, Heid Hirsch, 2009). The CAS calculator is a powerful dynamic tool that offers opportunities of learning new concepts and experiences and allows teachers to use the CAS to help students focus on either a more targeted or a global view of their work with symbolic representations, depending on the instructional goal (Zbiek, Heid Hirsch, 2009). Bert Waits, co‐ founder of T3 (Teachers Teaching with Technology) mentioned that graphing calculator is a great pedagogical tool as it offers multi‐representational approaches in teaching and learning of mathematics (Parrot Eu, 2014). After an extensive investigation the EU issued a ruling that Apple must pay the Irish government up to 13 million Euros in back corporate taxes. Apple is appealing the EU ruling indicting that they did not violate any laws and should not be forced to pay back taxes. However the most startling aspect of the case is that Ireland is actually siding with Apple and going against the EU. On the flip side when you look at the intricacies of the situation Irish government is showing solidarity with Apple because it is well aware of the benefits of having Apple conducting business in Ireland. The Irish government knows that if Apple is forced to pay back taxes that they will conduct significantly less business in Ireland which would hurt the Irish economy in the long run. You can date back to the Truman administration after World War II, this was an initial attempt to increase healthcare accessibility. President Truman proposed universal health insurance, but Congress didn t pass the Bill. During this time, Senator Kennedy made the first attempt since the Kennedy Administration to make efforts towards a major health reform. President Nixon s National Health Insurance Act was in competition in Congress with Senator Kennedy s Health Security Act. The Health Security Act would be like Medicare for All financed by a federal single payer. This program would end the need for premiums and private health insurance. The Health Security act didn t make it far in Congress, but it was good to resurface the topic of universal health insurance since the Truman Administration. (Markel, 2015) The Watergate Scandal of the 1970 s consumed most of the Ford Administrations efforts, so little was done under the administration towards health reform. Luckily, the Carter Administration brought back the idea of universal healthcare and the American Medical Association slightly began to support the idea for the first time. Due to the United States being in a recession at the time, Congress didn t give President Carter s plan much attention. The economic issues the United States faced caused the Reagan administration to not make any progress towards a major health reform as well. President Regan actually went in the opposite direction and cut a lot of government funding on healthcare; those cuts mainly affected physician and hospital reimbursements. The Dangers Of Residential Schools In Canada 80 Residential schools were developed and established all across Canada in 1931, and slowly over the years, about 150 000 First Nation students attend the different schools. This happened because many believed that education was one of the biggest factors to assimilation, and so the Canadian Parliament changed the Indian Act requiring all children, ranging the ages of seven to fifteen to go to school . The biggest concerns for the Indigenous at the time was that they had to trek thousands of kilometres from home to the nearest school, unknown of the dangers these parents were sending their children into. At these academic schools, English was stressed to speak when interacting with others while native tongue and language was banned , due to the fact, most of these schools were ran by churches. Also because these schools were ran by these churches, Christian religion and ideals were emphasized, while Aboriginal Spirituality and culture was condemned. These poor kids were separated from everything they knew about growing up, and they just threw them into a curriculum and material that is so very different from what they knew and would get penalize from not understanding and would feel like they were an outsider. And they would have to deal with this on the daily. Additionally, it provided developed data analysis and management software for use by the genome community. A simple Perl based data exchange format was formed in partnership with this core to allow loosely coupled programs to attach to a pipe based I/O stream and use tag/value pairs to easily reach into an input stream, pull out tags of interest, manipulate them and then drop new tags into the output stream. Tags that weren t of interest were passed through a standard input so that other programs in the pipeline could reach them. The information can come from a book, drama, media, or any other form of entertainment; but it is usually considered a threat to the consumer. Yet the consumer is not always the audience. Sometimes the threat is to a politician or government official. The debate over topics in the realm of what is acceptable and what should be banned only continues to rise as more taboo topics become acceptable. Some argue that keeping certain things behind closed doors is imperative for a harmonious living place. Others say that a small discourse is critical to remain sane. Censorship is a way of protecting society from itself. Leaders and parental figures can make the choice to monitor what is read, watched, and consumed, but until the world lives the life worthy of a children s book the effort is futile. While the narrative being taught may be inappropriate or harsher it doesn t decrease the value of it. Arguments are shown throughout everyday life over every topic. The question isn t, When will society stop fighting the norm? The question is, When will society stop fighting change? The world evolves with every second. With that evolution society blurs the line with what is acceptable and not. Sixty years ago the idea of two boys kissing was the equivalent of burning a baby in church on a Sunday morning. The few communities that are still occupied have huge walls with barbed wire and laser wire surrounding them. There are robberies, murders, and rapes just about every day. A) The US Constitution is fundamental law of the United States, and in the present, it is composed of seven articles and twenty seven amendments. The three things I like most about the US constitution are the 1st Amendment, the 10th Amendment, and separation of power. The 1st Amendment are composed of two clause which are establishment clause and free exercise clause. It provides a freedom of speech, assembly, religion and press. Those basic rights are given to people, and it shouldn t threaten by government. Each individual should be respected and treated. The second one is the 10th Amendment which is some power is granted to the state called reserved power. By states have some power, it is easily to manage own states because individual states has different ideas, and values. In addition, it is hard to set the same law in each states because of the population differences and religious differences. In addition, it can prevent national government has too much power over the state power. The third thing I like about the US constitution is separation of power. By separating power within Executive, Judicial, and Legislative, it can prevent to have too much power in one branch. In addition, by separating power, each of branch can check another branch. As a result, they can balance each other. B) The Japanese constitution is composed of 11 chapters, and 103 articles. Our country is a country of contrasts, economically, socially and geographically. For example, children with low income recourses, children with special needs (Handicapped, MR condition), aggressive behavior, learning disabilities and most of the times these institutions accept children whose English is not their native language. Students wear civilian cloths and they are not required to purchase any type of uniform. Most of the time parents do not have to pay for meals provided in schools or pay for any extra class given by the school. However, several of the schools ask the parents to buy school supplies with the purpose of having a productive school year. The discussion of abortion is continuously left open ended with millions of opinions, arguments, and questions. Abortions occur every single day leaving potential fathers devastated or thrilled, leaving friends and families broken and distraught or in contrast, proud. More importantly, leaving the potential mother uncertain and even destroyed. But with abortion in mind, what is considered wrong and what is considered right? What is moral and what is immoral?
