1. Outline Argumentative Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "Outline Argumentative Essay" can present its own set of
challenges. Crafting a well-structured and persuasive argumentative essay requires a thorough
understanding of the chosen subject, the ability to critically analyze different perspectives, and
the skill to present a cohesive and convincing argument.
To begin with, the process involves extensive research to gather relevant information and
evidence to support your claims. This can be time-consuming and may require navigating
through various sources, evaluating their credibility, and selecting the most pertinent
information. Furthermore, organizing these ideas into a coherent outline poses another challenge.
Creating a logical flow of arguments and ensuring that each point aligns with the thesis
statement demands careful consideration.
Constructing a strong thesis statement is a pivotal aspect of an argumentative essay. The thesis
must encapsulate the main argument and provide a clear direction for the entire essay.
Developing a compelling thesis requires a deep understanding of the topic and a keen ability to
articulate a stance that can be effectively argued throughout the essay.
Once the research and thesis are in place, the next hurdle is presenting the information
persuasively. This involves employing effective rhetoric, employing suitable evidence, and
anticipating counterarguments. Balancing these elements requires a nuanced understanding of the
topic and the ability to anticipate and address potential objections.
Additionally, ensuring that the essay adheres to proper formatting, citation styles, and
grammatical correctness adds another layer of complexity. Attention to detail is crucial in
creating a polished and professional essay that communicates ideas clearly.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "Outline Argumentative Essay" demands a
combination of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. Navigating
through these challenges requires dedication and a systematic approach to ensure the final essay
is well-crafted and impactful.

2. Sports Influence On American Culture
One the richest histories in the world is the history of sports. Sports are filled with
many different legends in multiple eras, multiple sports, and multiple mentalities.
Over the years sports have evolved to a worldwide phenomenon, going from soccer
to cricket. Different countries have different sports filled with different role models
and leaders. While football is a worldwide game other sports are unknown or
unfamiliar to people that are not from that certain country (Boyle, Raymond, and
Haynes, Richard). Two sports that dominate American culture are baseball and
football although they are not known in all countries of the world (Boyle, Raymond,
and Haynes, Richard). In Australian life cricket and Aussie Rules are played, Gaelic

America is most known for their love of baseball and football (Boyle, Raymond,
and Haynes, Richard). Football is a national pastime when it comes on. Most
everyone in America could say who the Dallas Cowboys are as they are America s
team. Intertwined even into political talk, sports take over a large part of the country
year round. Unlike most countries, the favorite football in America is American
football rather than what is called football in other countries. Over the seas in many
European countries rugby is the main attraction along with a sport called Cricket
(Boyle, Raymond, and Haynes, Richard). Rugby and cricket compare very closely
to American football and baseball and engulf the country around teams and the
play of the sport itself. In the land down under cricket is also very popular along
with Aussie Rules (Boyle, Raymond, and Haynes, Richard). The world is vast in
sports and oddly cultures around the world have different opinions of the best sport.
In America, cricket is rarely played if played at all by citizens. Even though it is
thought to be one of the most popular sports in the world. While the chances are very
slim in determining the most popular sports in the world without an eruption of
arguments from every country they will all agree that sports are indeed deep in the
culture of where they are played. Whether national or

current symptoms, vital signs, and blood work. Reference? Each value will have a
score given if it meets the criteria. All of the scores are added up giving a total

patient s community acquired pneumonia. Risks 1 3 are considered low risk and the

4. Bitcoin And Its Effect On The Success
I chose this question because of its potential in having a huge impact on the success
or failure of Bitcoin in the near future. As mails have evolved to electronic mail, the
world is slowly molding into a world of technology, currency along with it. Bitcoin is
an innovative concept to modernizing currency, yet, like many digitalized technology,
it also opens many doors to hackers. 1.2 What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin uses a decentralized, peer to peer payment system technology to operate with
no middle man or banks. Thus, the management of transactions and issuing of
Bitcoins is the responsibility of the whole network, collectively. Bitcoin is a
cryptocurrency based on open source software. Also known as virtual currency or
electronic money, this cryptocurrency used cryptography to control its creation and
transfer (Nakamoto). Bitcoins can be used to buy merchandise anonymously and
makes international payments easier and cheaper since the bitcoin is not tied to any
government or any rule and regulation.
Since there is no intrinsic value to the Bitcoin, vast amounts of research has gone
into the security of its protocol. The original focus of attacks were known as History
Revision attacks, a concept conceived in the creation of Bitcoin. Yet, research has
revealed its infeasibility; it can be shown that, mathematically, the probability that a
dishonest or fake chain is longer than an honest one grows exponentially smaller each
time a block is added (Skogsberg). Though it
5. Pastoral Ministry Is An Occupation Different From Any
Other
Pastoral Ministry is an occupation different from any other. Pastors are often young,
inexperienced, and ill equipped for the challenges which face them when they enter
the ministry. Many careers allow one to work their way up toward leadership
positions. This gives time for education, training, and experience to solve or prevent
many of the issues young or new pastors face. New pastors may enter at a lower
level than the lead pastorand in this way, gain some experience and have someone to
offer guidance for them. There are also intern programs available. However, all of
this differs widely and often a new pastor is in their early twenties and has no
relevant experience for the position they now hold in the church. This can lead to
many dangers for the new pastor.
I have many years of mid management experience, am much more mature than the
average new pastor, I am also much older than average. This does not mean I will
not face certain pitfalls in my ministry. I have dealt with a few and have come to
understand more recently. There are three major issues I feel I have in my life
which can, do, or likely will interfere with my effectiveness as a minister of the
Gospel, isolation, losing my awe for God, and forgetting who I am and who God is
are the issues I will focus on in my personal ministry plan. I will discuss each as they
relate to me and how I plan to avoid succumbing to them and in turn damaging or
destroying my ministry. Pastors tend to isolate themselves from
6. Theme Of Change In Once More To The Lake
Growing up Elouise believed that she could never do well in school, as she always
got poor marks. But once she put her mind to getting good grades and spent more
time studying, she began to perform better in her exams. By focusing on improving
her grades rather than doubting herself, it created a change in her performance.
This goes to prove that change is possible over time when it is coupled with
sincere action. Similarly to, Once More to the Lake, by E.B White and
Forgetfulness, by Billy Collins the authors both use different literary devices to
accomplish a similar theme of how time brings change. In the text Once More to
the Lake, a father takes his son to revisit the lake he went to as a child. Once there,
he begins to relive the experience he did as a child and goes through a dual existence.
Soon forgettinghe is no longer a child and that time was long ago. Similarly in
Forgetfulness, the author shows that when growing old it is easy to forget items once
known. Throughout both texts, the authors convey a similar theme, time brings
change while using different literary devices such as figurative language.
First and foremost, Once More to the Lake, by E.B White and Forgetfulness, by Billy
Collins use personification and illusion (as well as a bit of an identity crisis) to bring a
similar theme. In the text Forgetfulness, the author shows that as time continues,
concepts once learned soon vanish from the mind. In the beginning of the poem, Billy
7. Mr Elias Character Analysis
WJPS principal Dr. Werner appointed a new teacher named Mr. Elias to become the
Newspaper teacher as of September 25, 2017. Mr. Elias is taking place of Mr.
Christopoulos, who cannot teach due to personal issues.
Mr. Elias has an intriguing background story, all beginning in the fifth grade. A
fascinating story was told about how he met his wife, demonstrating how determined
and persistent he is. He did not stop the pursuit until she finally went out with him
during their college years. They eventually got married in 1972 and they have been
together ever since. Mr. Elias and his wife also have a daughter who blessed them
with a grandson. He attended Queens College, after graduating from Bayside High
School. He received his Masters Degree in Atlanta, Georgia. He s been teaching for
25 years, even teaching other teachers how to teach.
Not only does he teach, he also has a lot of interests. What makes Mr. Elias stand out
from other teachers requires deeper scrutiny. When you get to know him, you find
out that he is an interdisciplinary studies expert. On top of that, he emphasizes
physical fitness, belonging to two health clubs, one in the city and one in Queens. He
also enjoys listening to music, including Disco and Jazz. He includes Bob Dylan, The
Beatles, The Rolling Stones amongst his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

9. What Is The Similes In The Highwayman
The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes is a fantastic poem. It really gets you pulled in
when you hear about this forbidden love, that the highwayman and Bess have. The
poem is about a highwayman (robber) and Bess, which is the landlord s daughter
and it s about their relationship. The story goes on and there is a man named Tim
and he likes Bess and he hears them talking. He turns the highwayman into the
king. They go to Bess s room and ties her up so when the highwayman comes back
they can catch him and kill him. She shoots herself a warning for him to know not
to come. But he comes back mad about her death and they kill him too. At the end it
tells us we can still see their love story because they are ghosts. I think this poem is
fantastic because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some parts of the poem isn t understandable, but with the similes and metaphors
you can image what it looks like if it gets compared to something you know well.
Here are some examples of similes and metaphors in the story. The road was a
ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor. If you don t understand they compare
the road to ribbon, which means the road was like a ribbon thin, little and has
rolling hills with swamps. Here is another example of similes and metaphors in the
poem. His eyes were hollows of madness, his hair like moldy hay. Most people
know what moldy and hay means which means you can picture his hair gross and
nasty and his eyes frightening or scary. It gives you better pictures of imagery too.
If they wouldn t have put moldy or madness then it would have been just hair and
no emotion. Which is boring and that s no fun. One more example His rapier hilt a
twinkle, under the jeweled sky. You think of jewels as sparkling, shining objects,
and pretty. So you can think of that when you do imagery. So a very pretty, shining,
and sparkling sky shining above him and his sword. You can see there are millions
of similes and metaphors and they have lots of description in them. Its very easy to
compare the words in the similes and metaphors to words you know, so you can
image what it looks like so you can understand

11. Much Ado About Nothing Movie Poster Response Essay
Movie Poster Responses
The use of color in this poster is very interesting. The poster is divided down the
middle, with opposing ideas and patterns of either side. On the left side, there are
rich reds and golds that play off the luxurious, city lifestyle of the movie. Conversely,
the right side has a direct opposing main color of teal with its secondary color being
brown to show the natural, country lifestyle also present in the movie. I agree with
these color choices because they do enforce a central theme which is the high class
life of socialites in the roaring twenties versus the common everyday folks.
The first thing noticed about the composition is the positioning of the main
characters. Flora Poste, played by a young Kate Beckinsale, ... Show more content on

To start off the specifics, the color is effective because the opposing and odd colors
do a good job at catching people s eye. Next is the composition, which emphasises a
main part of the movie, the difference in the two lifestyles, while also showing off
the actors and the vital information of the movie. Following that, the actor appeal is
quite strong with this movie: Kate Beckinsale had just done her first movie Much
Ado About Nothing (1993) and was very much a new, pretty face in Hollywood.
Not only does this film have a rising actress, it also contains legends such as Ian
McKellen. Fourth on the list are the lines and angles which use the different sides
of the poster to catch different crowds of people. The font, along with its
connections to the line work, is also a stark white against a muted colorful
background, which pushes even further how attention getting this poster is. And
finally, the overall design is appealing because of all the reasons above plus how
the poster itself really just sets the film up perfectly. Those like myself who saw the
poster after the movie would also agree that the plot is almost right on the poster, it
just takes some

INTRODUCTION TO INNOVATION AND CHANGE
Innovation is the process by which ideas are created, selected and implemented to
bring about profitable change to organisations. Innovations come as a result of an
identified need for organisations to change their current processes, activities or
operations. Andriopoulos and Dawson (2009) explain that organisational change is
new ways of organizing and working . They explain that change occur in two
dimensions movement of state and scope of change.
Bessant and Tidd (2007) are of the opinion that innovation is the translation of
conceptualised ideas into commercially profitable ... Show more content on

Sustainable innovations can be achieved through proper management rather than
through happenstance or chance management of innovations. Robust organisations
can therefore plan and take advantage of innovation opportunities and also recover
from mistakes and failures quickly and with minimal damage.
Using the Pirelli Cables Study, the organisation selected Total Quality Management
(TQM) to help solve ongoing operational problems, such as staff turnover, quality
problems and also develop customer and employee relationship.
Different rates of success were witnessed in the three plants where TQM was
implemented due to the nature of their context and structure.
The introduction of TQM in the Minto Plant was developed based on the formation
and use of teams which they felt was important. The importance of teams in
innovation implementation is also explained by the work of West, et al (2004) who
propose that it is the implementation of ideas rather than their development that is
crucial for enabling organizational change and this can be achieved by working
through teams. They go further to explain that in order to effectively mange change it
is important to understand how to develop such teams
TQM was met by some resistance especially from line managers and supervisors.
This was because the importance and aim of TQM was not clearly communicated to
the supervisors and also, they were not involved in the TQM approach.
The implementation of TQM was

The child s interview selected has many strengths and limitations. As an objective
expert, I will provide the court with scientific evidence of two significant problems
with this interview. The two significant problems being identified and addressed
today are the effects of a biased interviewer, and misleading and suggestive
questioning techniques. Both of these problems are related to this forensic interview.
Quality issues of the child s report, as well as how it could be improved will also
be explained. The first issue going to be discussed is the effects of a biased
interviewer. In this child s report, the interviewer can been seen as biased when the

In the child s report, this is seen in the form of tag questions (request for confirmation
at the end of a statement), yes/no questions, double barrelled questions (a question
that contains two or more questions in one), and close ended questions. A suggestive
question is involved when the interviewer uses information in a question or
statement that the child has not reported. This appeared to happen multiple times
during this report. A study by Robbers and Schneider (2000) looked at misleading
and suggestive questioning in interviews. 6 , 8 , and 10 year old children were
shown a video, then 3 4 weeks later, interviewed about it (adults were included in the
study too, but we are not concerned with those findings). The children were asked
either a set of open ended, unbiased questions, or misleading questions suggesting a
detail. They found that the children were very vulnerable to the misleading and
suggestive questions, and that they had difficulties with their memory,
misinformation, and accuracy when they were subjected to the misleading questions
(Robbers Schneider, 2000). Generally speaking, the problem with misleading and
suggestive questions is that they can compromise the integrity in a child s report, and
confuse the child during the time of the interview, leading to false information. This
could have been avoided if the interviewer used open ended questions and prompts at
the beginning of the interview and then used focused questions once the child raised
details in order to gain more

Executive SummaryQuality and efficiency is the key to American Connector

which will be exacerbated if DJC opens a production facility in the United States.
DJC has gained much knowledge from its Kawasaki plant and is going to enter the
US market with factories that will be efficient. ACC is in trouble and needs to
drastically change the way they do business if they want to survive.
Looking and emulating DJC is the first step American Connector needs to follow.

Through this high quality and lack of flawed parts they have gained a good
reputation, which was something that was normally reserved for American
companies. The continuous inspections, replacement or worn parts and the high level
of maintenance of the equipment allowed the factory to run smoothly. The focus on
fixing problems before they happened has led to fewer problems encountered on the
production line.
3) Links to Customers DJC maintained a close link with its customer and took the
customer input to adjust the connectors to meet customer needs. This allowed DJC to
be proactive and stay ahead of changing trends within the computer industry. The
simplified designs they created required fewer raw materials increasing efficiency
and reducing costs.
4) Trade Secrets DJC reverse engineered many of its early connectors from designs
from other companies. This sped up the design process and allowed them to quickly
enter the market. They did not want the same thing to happen to them so they had
contracts written up with suppliers and created an internal design division that did
their work in house. This allowed DJC to keep their innovative ideas to themselves,
maintaining their advantage over the competition.
5) Plant Layout DJC focused on the best way to produce connectors. Their plant
layout and simplified design process allowed for an efficient operation, utilizing the
factory space to its fullest. The

Different individual country, even town have their own different language, religion,

Every country have their own ability to make their culture unique from others, that

Mexico all have different unique ways of making their ceramics. Mexico s style of
ceramics are glazing, and firing; the shapes, color and patterns of their ceramics are

influenced by Chinese and Korean prototypes. Japanese ceramics are mostly made

22. The Ministry Of Jesus Research Paper
The ministry of Jesus began when Jesus was 30 years old, after his baptism in the
river Jordan. Within three and a half years of his ministry Jesus did more miracles
than any man in the world could have accomplished. He preached about the ways of
changing lives and often gave parables to educate people. Even though he was
rejected Jesuscontinued to spread the gospel in different cities around Israel,
including Capernaum and Bethsaida. In his ministry, he regularly used signs and
gestures in preaching to his followers. He used his miracles as sign that shows his
unification with Godwhile also identifying himself as human. Jesus did not only use
words in his quest to spread the word of God, he also used gestures and signs to

He was trying to convey the message that the Kingdom of God belonged to every
individual without looking at status or riches. One of his most recognizable
gesture was when he walked on water. Peter, who was already his disciple at the
time saw him walking on water and decided to also try and walk on water. At the
beginning, Peter was able to walk on water but he became afraid and his faith
struggled. When his faith started to struggle Peter started sinking and Jesus saved
him from the water. Jesus was trying to express the importance of faith in him and
God, and how having unshakeable faith will be beneficial.
Miracle can be defined as powerful deeds and signs that Jesus accomplished. In the
bible there are very many miracles that occurred during the time of Jesus. Lohfink
defines miracle as a challenging act, in contrast with the bible which views it as an
unusual act that relieves a person of negative aspects in their his or her life. Lohfink
further clarifies that with the modernism influence, the miracle concept is going
through a strip stream, where through miracles God breaks natural laws to show his
love for us (Lohfink

THE TRUTH ABOUT TIME
The strongest of all the warriors are these two time and patience: Leo Tolstoy
TIME IS LIFE:
First I will elaborate on the concept of time. Time is the most valuable resource that
any person can possess. Time equals life.
I know that this sounds simple but most people don t realize the significance of either
time or life. That is, your time in this world starts from the moment you came in this
world and it ends the moment you stop breathing.
So, what is meant by the statement that your time is over it actually means your life
is over. Therefore, time is life.
Significance of time in relation to life:
Time like any other resource is depleting very fast, therefore, its up to the individual
himself that he utilizes it both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dimensions/classification of time:
One important thing to remember especially for people who believe that time is
always at their disposal is that time wasted will never come back. This signifies the
importance that time can be explained in three ways: past, present and future.
While remembering the past or dreaming about the future is good, sometimes, the
best way to make use of your time is living in the present or living in the moment.
You see that you can do nothing about your past, its already gone plus it will never
come back but the next best thing to do is learn lessons from your past, whether it be
learning from your mistakes or learning from your failures.
Build your future, realize your dreams:
Also, stop worrying about the future, nobody in this universe has control over their
future plus nobody knows where they will end up or what will happen tomorrow.
But still that doesn t mean that you forget your dreams, your future; what it means
is that you build your future, one day at a time. So, if you want to be successful
plus live the life of your dreams, focus your energies by putting your heart and soul
into your work on daily

DBQ Essay
Some factors that shaped the modern Olympic movement from 1892 to 2002 were
the increased participation of women in the games due to women s suffrage, the
rising nationalism and superiority over competitors that took place, and the increase
in trade and funding.
The modern Olympic movement was shaped through the soaring advocation of
women s rights (2, 8). An anonymous photographer (#2), in the 1908 Olympic games
held in Great Britain where only 2 percent of women participated in the games,
presents a photograph of Sybil Newall, a female British competitor at the games, and
advocates women participating in the games. This photographer might have this
view because he or she is a feminist that took place in the women suffrage movement
and is baffled that solely two percent of athletes were women, and is urging the
Olympics to make a great change. Hassiva Boulmerka (#8), an Algerian competitor
that engaged in the 1992 games held in Spain where 29 percent of the athletes were
women, believes that every woman has the ability of becoming an athlete, and must
strengthen their mind and conscious, not just their body, to overcome these social
challenges. Boulmerka, as a woman participant, may have this belief because she has
underwent these obstacles as well, and wishes to motivate women in Spain to have
the will and determination to overcome them and become a female athlete like
herself. A good additional document that would better our understanding of how this

25. Greek Wine History
Wine continues to be a staple in society, displayed in its prominent impact on
culture and religion. It has paved the way for growth in both politics and
philosophy; its involvement in trade allowed the spread of Greek ideas to reach
many civilizations. Wine s effect throughout human history is undeniable as it
connected people from all over the world through trade and commerce. While it s
true origins are lost and only recorded in myth and legend , it is believed that its
first production was in the Neolithic period, between 9000 and 4000 BC (Standage
47). Wild grape vine, cereal crops, and the invention of pottery lead to wine
production in areas of modern day Armenia and northern Iran. Reddish residue
found inside a jar from a Neolithic village in the Zagros Mountains is the earliest
physical evidence for wine (47). Wine s possible origin in this region is mirrored in
the story of Noah.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From its historical birthplace, it continued to spread to the west (Greece) and south
through the Levant. One of Egypt s early ruler, King Scorpion was buried with seven
hundred jars of wine displaying the significance of wine in early Egyptian culture. It
was transported at great expense, signifying the rapid growth of wine production.
The Pharaohs established their own vineyards in the Nile Delta and the beginning
of limited domestic production was starting to kickoff, but in Mesopotamia, wine
consumption remained only to the elite. Wine was not listed in ration tables for
lower class members. The masses in both Egypt and eastern Mediterranean areas
were still drinking beer, which made access to wine a mark of status (48). Wine
became a symbol of status. As it began to gain popularity throughout the Near East
and the eastern Mediterranean, wine was viewed as both a social and religion drink
(49). Wine production increased and it became associated with other desirable
offerings such as gold, silver,

THE PUNIC WARS
During the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C., three wars were fought between Rome and
Carthage. The name given to describe the wars Punic, is a divided word from the
Latin and Greek words for Phoenician. The city of Carthage, situated in what is now
Tunisia in North Africa, was founded in 814 B.C. by the Phoenicians. The first two
wars were the longest 23 years and 17 years, separated by an interval of 23 years. The
last and third war lasted only three years. It started 52 years after the end of the
second Punic War. All three wars were won by Rome, which automatically emerged
as the greatest military power in the Mediterranean Sea. The hostility of Carthage
impelled Rome to build up its large army and create a strong navy just like the one
Carthage had. Strong military leaders of the war for Carthage and his sons

the richest and the most advanced city in the region, as well as its prominent naval

Long distance trade fell under the supervision of the central government and

with their own writing system called quipu. Quipu consisted of an array of small
cords of various and lengths, all suspended from large thick cord, unlike the Aztecs
system which was just symbols. The Incan social structure was based upon hereditary
aristocrats, consisting of rulers, priests, and peasant cultivators. Like the Aztecs the
Incas performed bloodletting rituals, the sacrificial subject was just an animal instead
of a human. The Incans considered the sun as a god and as their major deity, called
Inti. They also recognized the moon, stars, planets, rain, and other natural forces as
divine. Many of the differences between the Aztecs and the Incas benefited the two
by becoming successful, striving, powerful regions. The Aztec and Incan empires both

29. The Theories Of Power Within A State Essay
Emphasised are the various theories of power within a state. Originating from his
book Power: A Radical View by political theorist, Steven Lukes, who highlighted
the existence of three dimensions of power; Pluralism, Elitism, and Marxism.
Elitism focuses on how power is concentrated, Pluralism focuses on how power is
distributed while Marxism focuses on class conflict and economic power (Barry,
2016). The purpose of this essay is to establish the variations between these
dimensions but also identify key similarities in order to understand the reason each
exists and why one is a threat to the other. This essay, in a less rigorous manner,
aims to investigate an alternative theory, which can be suggested to states that don
t want to adopt either of these concepts. The idea of the existence of a ruling elite
is very prevalent within today s society. This idea alludes to the theory of elitism,
the concept that there is a small class of decision makers that monopolise power
(Barry, 2016), having being drawn from wealth, the military, the corporate sector,
and the political office. The term oligarchy or the iron law of oligarchy, one
associated with elitism and developed by Robert Michels, can be used to describe
difference states that adopt a power structure in which effectively rests with a small
number of people (Oligarchy, 2016). Similarly, elitism also has its sub divisions and
those who follow the separations; elitist theorists include C. Wright Mills, Elmer Eric
30. The Aging Population Of America
Introduction
The aging population in America is growing quickly and is projected to double by
the year 2050. The current growth in the number and proportion of older adults in
the United States is unprecedented in our nation s history. By 2050, it is anticipated
that Americans aged 65 or older will number nearly 89 million people (The State of
Aging and Health in America, 2013). Along with this increase in the aging
population, it is estimated that by the year 2020, 157 million Americans will have
some form of chronic illness (Taking Care: Ethical Caregiving in Our Society,
2005). With advances in medicine, people are able to live longer lives with chronic
illnesses that in the past resulted in a decreased life expectancy.

To compensate for this, many are looking towards helping older adults stay in their
home for as long as possible, even if they experience functional or cognitive
impairments. This idea is known as aging in place. In the USA, 95% of adults over
the age of 75 want to age in place. There are benefits and challenges to aging in
place. The benefits of aging in place are that it improves perceived quality of life and
is cost effective, whereas the challenges include declines in cognitive and functional
abilities of older adults, as well as time pressures on formal and informal caregivers
who must visit older adults in their homes throughout the community (Connelly,
Laghari, Mokhtari, Falk, 2014).
Fortunately, there are technologies that can assist with aging in place. These
technologies produce better health outcomes, lower caregiver burden, and save
money over the life of the individual. There are several types of technologies which
will be discussed in this paper, which include technologies that provide education and
support social networking, technologies that support monitoring and management of
health and well being, and chronic conditions, and finally technologies that support
interactions with the healthcare system (Marchibroda, 2015). This research paper
will show that the use of technology will greatly benefit the elderly population in
helping them to age in place.

Natures Theme
Nature is always hinting at us. It hints over and over again. And suddenly we take
the hint. This quote was taken from Robert Frost and demonstrates his feelings
toward nature. Robert Frost is a well known American poet who draws on nature as
the subject of his poems. There are three main things that account for Robert Frost s
poetry. In his poems, he uses familiar subjects, like nature, people doing everyday
things and simple language to express his thoughts. His poems might be easy to read
by some, but not necessarily east to understand. It is not hard to see through his
poems, how deeply moved he is by the Earth. In many of Frost s poems about nature,

Yet, when he turned away from his chores, he realized his world was crumbling
around him. His family members grew sick, his children died and, consequently, his
marriage grew more distant. As reflective of his personal life, he saw nature as
beautiful and full of hope, yet also random and chaotic.
To a large extent, this contrast is displayed in his writing. In single volumes of his
work, poems of nature s warmth in grace are mere pages away from descriptions of
nature s savagery. It is in his writings, though, where he finds a stable middle ground
between the extremes.
Frost s poem, Nothing Gold Can Stay , portrays the idea of nature being a life force
throughout all of time. Nature is constantly showing us her beauty, but he reminds us
that from each day to the next, nothing can be a permanent fixture all the time.
Nature s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.

But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.

The PanamГЎ Canal is a man made 48 mile waterway in Panama that connects the
Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. The canal cuts across the Isthmus of Panama
and is a key conduit for international maritime trade. The idea of creating a water
passage across the famous isthmus of Panama to link the Atlantic and Pacific
Oceans dates back to at least the 1500s to 1600s , when Charles the king of spain t
tapped his regional governor to survey a route along the Chagres River. This route
at the time seemed as if it was not going to work out well but ended up being one of
the most important trading canals in all of history in the last five centuries. The

the hockey myth. Throughout her essay, Robinson analyzes the case of David
Frost, a hockey coach, who in 2004, was accused and on trial for sexual abuse; in
order to demonstrate her argument. Robinson begins her argument by suggesting
that hockey is a highly gendered culture, in which a great deal of pressure is given
to women. Opportunities for girls to succeed in hockey are subordinate to boys in
most small Canadian towns. The role for women in hockey is to be an object used
to label the male hockey players. There is no equality of sexes in the culture of

the vast majority responded with no. Warshaw then rephrased her question to
define all forms of rape, and sexual violence; once these students heard what

violence is not exclusive to being forcefully raped, but includes occasions when the
victim is psychologically and emotionally coerced into sexual acts, as well as being
worn down by someone unwilling to accept no . Laura Robinson then goes on to
explain her revelation of the biased law system she encountered when writing her
novel Crossing the Line: Violence and Sexual Assault in Canada s National Sport . In
Canada, Robinson came across many cases in which the justice system held a
inclination towards males over the female victims in sexual violence trials involving
hockey. She calls this the hockey myth , a premise that dictates males feel pressure
to be sexist and misogynistic in hockey. These judges and juries were unable to

When people tend to be very passionate about a certain subject, occasionally they
are very reckless in order to get what they truly want. This is the same regardless if
it is a small group of people, an individual, or even an abundance of passionate
citizens. Extreme loss of individuality and recklessness are no different for the
large groups of passionate revolutionaries in Charles Dickens s A Tale of Two
Cities. The mobs in A Tale of Two Cities tend to have violence in which depths are
unknown, and who do anything to get what they want at the moment. The mobs also
tend to destroy their own community and upset the social norms of the society they
are living in purely to get what they want. In the novel A Tale of Two Cities, Charles

When the wine spilled on the street in Paris, people rushed out of their jobs to
come and devour the wine. They wanted it while it was fresh, but had to fight
others for it to help them, and even their babies, fight hunger. All of the merchants
that were close enough to the wine had ...suspended their business, or their idleness,
to run to the spot and drink the wine... Others, men and women, dipped in the
puddles with little mugs of mutilated earthenware, or even with handkerchiefs from
women s heads, which were squeezed dry into infants mouths...licking, even
champing the moister wine rotted fragments with eager relish (Dickens 28 29).
The imagery of the wine spilling on the streets shows imagery in words like licking
and eager relish . The people during the Revolution running out of their shops and
fighting for the wine that spilled shows how they had a recklessness about their
actions. It shows how they left their job for this wine and they are now kicking the
streets to get it. Truly, the townspeople have a goal in mind and they won t stop at
anything to get it. Moreover, they lose their individuality when they rush to this wine
because the people start to morph into one great big mob and are now almost like
robots going to lick the fragments of wine. The townspeople s actions of using
handkerchiefs and squeezing the wine into the infants mouth exemplifies how they
were probably rushing very quickly to get this leftover wine using non conventional
materials. Using these not so normal materials gives the townspeople a reason to be
reckless when picking up the wine because they really needed it to feed the babies
and themselves, too. Therefore, since the Revolutionaries had the passion for licking
the wine off the streets, nothing could make them any less competitive for getting
what they want. During the Revolution when the wine spills in the
38. The Four Theories Of Passive Audience Theory
Active Audience Theory
Four theorists are the contributing authors of the active research theory. These authors
evolved the role audience play and their ability to actively engage with
communication medians. The idea of deconstructionism was the focus of the work of
Jacques Derrida and Michel Foucault during the 1960 s. Later in the twentieth century
theorist Raymond Bauer developed The Obstinate Audience. In the early 1980 s a
theorist by the name of Stuart Hall challenged the traditional theories of an audience
role in the media and developed his encoding/decoding theory. Each contributed to
the current understanding of the active role audiences engage in when information is
presented. In this section a brief description of the earlier theory of the audiences as
passive viewers will be presented to provide a background of the role of the audience.
Next, the major theorist and their contributions to the active audience theory will be
presented. The section will end with a summary of active research theory and its
contribution to communication medians today.
Passive Audience Theory
During the early 1900 s audiences were considered to be passive, an audience that
merely observed events rather than actively responding to the event in the media.
During this time, several theories were developed on the media s ability to provide
information to a group of people that did not think about the information just simply

40. The Charge Of The Light Brigade Is Not A True War Story...
According to the Freytag s pyramid, a story must contain five parts: exposition,
rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. All throughout my life I ve
held these as irrevocable characteristics of a story; more in particular, that all
stories must have a resolution. However, reading Tim O Brian s How to Tell a
True War Story has challenged this notion. O Brian argues that a true story a war
story, in particular doesn t necessarily have a satisfying resolution or a moral. War
is too complex to render in simple terms; a true war story is neither about bravery
nor heroism. Thus, based on these criteria, I d argue that Lord AlfredTennyson s
piece, The Charge of the Light Brigade, is not a true war story. First of all, I d like to
make it clear: by stating that this piece is not a true war story I do not intend to
undermine the poem or the author, nor mislabel them as chauvinistic. The Charge of
the Light Brigade is, undoubtedly, an anti war poem. That becomes self evident after
the first read. But if the reader applies the biographical strategies to learn more about
the author s life and thus, understand his work more fully, the reader might find
useful to know that Lord Tennyson never actually fought in the Crimean warhimself.
In fact, he was the oxymoron of a wardog; he was the Poet Laureate of the United
Kingdom whose works reflect his anti war posture. Lord Tennyson was an academic,
not a fighter. He learned about the heavy losses the Light Cavalry

had governed themselves independently. The Structure of the Australian government
may be examined based on the concepts of federalism and separation of powers. It

To ensure that power is not concentrated in a single branch or arm of the
government, the governments have established a mechanism to check excessive
use of power. For instance, in Australia, the Ministers are appointed by the
parliament and are also scrutinized by the members of parliament. Moreover, the
principle of separation of powers requires that no individual can be a member of
two or three arms of the government (Markus, 2016). For instance, a member of
parliament cannot at the same time serve as a High Court Judge, as this will
compromise the supremacy of the Judiciary in controlling the law making process. It
may also interfere with the parliament s law making

He often had nightmare of his friend K being swept away. What happened to the
Seventh man was traumatic. What the Seventh Man went through what is called
survivors guilt. Survivor s guilt is a guilt that is a common response following loss
or traumatic experiences with significant victimization. This guilt may come when
someone, dear to somebody dies and a person feels guilty for the death of that
person even if they have not caused the death. We often associate this type of guilt
with the battlefield. Soldiers that come home may have this guilt when during a
battle some of their buddies died, and they feel like they could ve prevented the
deaths of their fellow soldiers. But survivor s guilt is not just associated with the
battle field. Just like in the Seventh Man s story. The Seventh Man should forgive
himself for the death of K.

44. Comparing The Fairchild Family And Purple Jar
The History of the Fairchild Family by Mary Sherwood and the Purple Jar by
Maria Edgeworth share similarities in regards that there is a foundation and
purpose for the stories. The stories purposes are to teach values morals to the
readers. The method of how each separate story is described and the techniques the
writers uses to engage their readers in order to get the messages they are portraying
are dissimilar. Mary Sherwood s writing style in the Fairchild Family can be
described as an extreme scare tactic type of storyline. Maria Edgeworth approach in
the Purple Jar is kinder. However, different in that aspect both storylines purposes are
able to powerfully manipulate the reader into making them believe the importance of
a valuable life
45. A Brief Note On Diabetes And The American Diabetes...
Treatment There are a few main areas to look at when talking about treating type
one diabetes according to the American Diabetes Association. One of those areas is
monitoring your blood glucose levels. Blood glucose is also known as blood sugar
and checking this regularly will help your doctors ensure that your medication is
effectively treating your condition. The American Diabetes Association
recommends keeping a blood glucose log, and patients can find one on their
website. A few complications that can occur if your blood glucose levels waver is
Hypoglycemia, which is having low blood glucose, and Hyperglycemia, which is
having high blood glucose. Keeping a log of your blood sugarlevels will also help to

The most common method of injecting insulin is by using a syringe, but other ways
in which to administer injections are with insulin pens or an insulin pump. From
all of the information I have gathered on insulin, it seems to be a very time
sensitive form of medication for diabetes. Unsurprisingly, insulin injections are
also a necessary treatment for those with type one diabetes. A third main area of
treatment is exercise, which is said to help better stabilize a patient s blood
glucose levels. Aerobic exercise, strength training, stretching, balance exercises,
and walking are some of the activities and forms of exercise specifically
recommended by the American Diabetes Association for people who are facing
type one diabetes. Aerobic exercise is a way for you to help your body use insulin
better and it can help to lower your blood glucose levels. The American Diabetes
Association website also elaborates by saying that strength training can help in
lowering an individual s blood glucose levels and can make your body more
sensitive to insulin. A few tips to help patients become more active in their
everyday lives are to talk your dog for a walk, play with your kids, walk down
every aisle of the grocery store, and take the stairs instead of the elevator to get from
the parking garage to your office in the morning. Treatment for type one diabetes will
also tend to focus on your nutrition. The American
46. Baby Theresa Case Summary
Wow, I can t imagine being the parents to carry a child almost to full term to find
out that there baby is born without a brain . which if you look up anencephaly that is
the term but technically the babies are born without a cerebral cortex or the gray
matter which is the most important part of the brain, it is what helps us be human. In
Baby Theresa case in my opinion I think the moral thing to do was to donate her
organs to other babies born in need of a transplant that have a little bit of a better
chance of surviving then baby Theresa. There are babies and people in desperate
need of organs and to let baby Therese s life go without saving the organs that she
could gift to other babies I find a waste.

47. Soviet Union As Powerful Middle Class Nations Today Essay
Russia and Poland were once under the single party control, communism.
Communism is when the government owns nearly all aspects of society. The
government controlled everything from means of production, property, to even
media. The fall of communism throughout the world began in the late 1980s. Since
the liberalization of the two countries, Russia and Polandhave come to long ways.
After independence, both countries faced many struggles but are now considered to
be powerful middle class nations today. Post communist is where former communist
states undergo a transition both socially and economically. Before 1989, there has
never been a shift to a post communist country to democracy. With a quickly
modernizing world, Communismwas bound to fail(286). The death of Stalin in 1953
left the Soviet Unionwithout a strong communist leader. The Soviet Union then
turned its attention to Western powers and the arms race. The Cold War left
Americans thinking that communism would never end and many countries could
begin to fall to it. The 1950s and 1960s had Americans feeling uneasy. Both the arms
race and Cuban Missile Crisis led to detente, which is when both the United States
and the Soviet Union wanted peace, but that did not last long. The Soviet Union
invaded Afghanistan in 1979, and this began the fall of the Soviet Union. The
election of Ronald Reagan also helps embitter the relationship between the United
States and the Soviet Union. He views the Soviet Union as a the evil

Understanding Schizophrenia from the Mind of a Mental Health Victim Themselves
With basic information on what this mental illness is, to understand Schizophrenia
further, research into personal encounters became apparent. After looking into the
mind of Ian Chovil who was a victim of the mental health disease and finding his
accounts very eccentric it is clear that this is something that could quite possibly
affect the brains of the people that commit serious crimes in regards to the Media.
Ian says in his story a few things which connect this type of mental health to violent
obscure behaviour. He says he had delusions right from the start which after
reading his story states, progressed from visions of famous persons trying to force
him to commit suicide right to the later stages of his schizophrenia where he says
he got a lot of messages from favourite Rock and Rolla songs, movies, cartoons and
library books. Ian doesn t say these forms of media forced him to murder innocent
people but it does provide evidence that he received messages. These messages in the
mind of another schizophrenic could lead to serious acts of violence which leads
onto the next part of his story where he mentions how his delusions changed as aliens
instructed him on the real nature of reality then three things happened as contact with
reality became very tenuous, he got into trouble with the law, became an alcoholic
and lost his job. He is now taking instructions from a part of his mind he perceives
50. Cartesian Aesthetics
Journal 2 (Truth)
Introduction
Aesthetics and truth are interlinked as one induces the other. Aesthetics are the
philosophy of taste and beauty and vary from person to person. These determine the
varying realities and truths for an individual. The abilities of a person to identify
beauty in things differ from another and this is why truth also varies among people as
it depends upon the notions and conceptions expressed in terms of assertions.
What is Cartesian Aesthetics and how did/does it affect design? Use specific
examples and explore how the concept of aesthetics is linked to that of truth.
Cartesian aesthetics anticipated that Nature and motivation are same: the procedures
that direct science also direct the fine arts. One imperative ... Show more content on

One was the reality of the senses. This is pertinent to the fact that reality of the
physical world includes all that is present in the society, whereas, the second reality is
of the mind. The thoughts and beliefs of an individual form a second reality and it is
universal and unchanging. In the second reality, conceptions of truth, ethics and
justice come into play. Hence, the mind decides the truth of all things by its thoughts
and beliefs and no truth is more universal than that. Truth varies from people to
people. This is eminent in the photographs of any photographer. People see what they
want to see in them and various people can see various things in a single photograph
depending on their thoughts.
A person is likely to ask many questions while watching a photograph while some
people may ask different questions3. This is photographers try to convey a singular
theme in their photographs so that the viewers could discern a certain conclusion
from them. Although they may agree or disagree with the conclusion of the theme,
they are able to identify the thoughts of the photographer in the photographs.

51. Marcus Brutus And Caeser s The Tragedy Of Julias Caesar
Manipulative people do not understand the concept of boundaries. They are
relentless in their pursuit of what they want and they have no regard for who gets
hurt along the way unknown. Marcus Brutus and Caius Cassius are well respected
senators who grew up together and discover that they both don t agree with Caeser
s Ruling. They both deserve their status, yet somehow the people seem to like
Brutus more. By conspiring together, they effectively assasinate Caeser. These key
characters in Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julias Caeser would relatably show the
conflict that we still run into today in modern politics. Some in my class would say
that Marcus Brutus and Caius Cassius are to similar to compare, yet they couldnt be
more different. While Brutus and Cassius work together for a time toward a
common goal, their intentions and mindsets are complexively different in
selfishness, honor, and trust. Brutus is not self absorbed. Brutus had to be
convinced for the assasination of Caeser, because his reasons for killing Caeser
weren t the same as Cassius .... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cassius seeks a pawn in his chess game of assasinating Caeser. Cassius tells Brutus
that he should be his mirror to show him all the things he is capable of, but also
explains how he can be trusted. However, Brutus is too trusting to think anything
otherwise. Cassius even goes as far as to write letters Brutus addressed from others
praising him for the very same thing Cassius has. After he finally convinces Brutus
to join him, and sees the spark of potential in Brutus eyes, Cassius says, How I m
glad my weak words have struck such but this much show of fire from Brutus. This
statement is his way of saying Wow! That was easier than expected. I have to give
Cassius credit for what he did, in convincing Brutus to do what he wanted. As much
as I would like to say that what he did was wrong, he was only using his strengths to

52. Prufrock in the poem The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock...
Question
Who is Prufrock?
The modern propensity for excessive introspection prevents people from living full,
active lives.
Is this true of Prufrock? Refer to examples from the poem to support your opinion.
Answer
It is obvious that the excessive and obsessive reflection of self that Prufrock
undergoes in the poem, The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock written by T.S. Eliot,
prevents him from living to his true potential, and this is shown through the poet?s
language and his use of poetic devices.
?The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock? has some immaculate imagery. T.S. Eliot uses
figurative diction to create almost cinematic images in the readers mind, almost like
a memory of their own. The imagery creates an incredible mood ... Show more

I suppose Eliot realised the propensity of man is to analyse themselves up against
the things that we value and dream of to acquire. Therefore I deem Eliot to have
tried to rid this common perception and teach us that this view hinders us from
living full, active lives. I presume T.S. Eliot replaces his perception with
Prufrock?s, which is ultimately the theme of the poem. However this is unclear,
because T.S. Eliot might have replaced Prufrock with his view on the typical
individual that he despises. It is quite evident that Prufrock has qualities derived
from both these two examples. For example, Prufrock is obsessed with his
appearance, age and things which have no lifelong value, and this ultimately leads
Prufrock to individual isolation and a perpetual loathing of mankind, and this
negatively affects him. Although this is the case, Prufrock also has wisdom of the
superficiality of people in the modern world. So it is unclear who Prufrock is, in
terms of if he is Eliot?s perception of the typical man or if he is the typical man that
Eliot despises, or both.
Regardless of this, I believe that Eliot is trying to convey an examination of the
tortured psyche of the prototypical modern man, a prototypical man who is
overeducated, eloquent and neurotic, like Prufrock, who is often moody, indecisive,
isolated, but yet a sensitive thinker. Prufrock is lacking in direction and is searching
for order and a point to his life. I believe it was a design choice that
53. Diocletian s Rise To Power
From 284 A.D. to 305 A.D., Emperor Diocletian held power. During his reign he
restored and reorganized an empire in anarchy, and through his leadership, the Roman
Empire was stabilized, and the ancient virtues were reestablished. Although his
administration was marred with the persecution of the Christians, ultimately his time
in office brought much needed help to Rome. Born in 245 in the region of Dalmatia,
little is known about Diocletians roots. Early documents speculate that he was of
humble origins, either the son of either a poor farmer or an emancipated slave.
Diocletian s rise to power was marked with a desire to restore civil order to Rome.
This passion was ignited when he calmed a revolt among Roman troops while in the
army.

The goal of this was to successfully accomplish the synthesis of para
Chlorophenoxyacetic acid. In this experiment, para Chlorophenoxyacetic acid was
synthesized from 4 chlorophenolate and chloroacetic acid using an SN2 reaction.
The product obtained was determined to be the para isomer of Chlorophenoxyacetic
acid. This was confirmed by the melting point of 157.3 157.9 в—¦C. The percent
yield determined at the end of the experiment was 37.83 %. The TLC analysis
showed that P Chlorophenol was less polar than P Chlorophenoxyacetic Acid
because it had an Rf value of 0.38 in comparison to the value of 0.33 on a 50:50
hexane and ethyl acetate solvent mixture. In the NMR comparison, it was shown
that both the starting material of chloroacetic acid and product contained a peak of
integration two around 4 ppm representing the acidic proton. In the FT IR
comparison, it was determined that the Chloroacetic acid and the para
Chlorophenoxyacetic acid both had an OH bond at 3416 cm 1 and 3429.72 cm 1
respectively. The Chloroacetic acid and para Chlorophenoxyacetic acid also both had
a carbon oxygendouble bond at 1648 cm 1 and 1654.81 cm 1 respectively. The para
Chlorophenoxyacetic acid also contained a peak at 1236.18 cm 1 which represents
the C O C bond.

56. A Research Study On Conservation Genetics
Introduction
Conservation genetics is actually a recent evolutionary theory and practise of
genetics on species in order to reduce their risk of extinction. Some relevant studies
improve the role of conservation genetics in specific type of species. There are so
many long lived species worldwide, either amphibians or mammals which nowadays
are limited and also distributed in certain areas. Most of them can be found into
small, fragmented isolated populations due to pollution, invasion of exotic species,
over exploitation and most important due to habitat loss (Frankham et al 1999).
Their amazing long life span shows both advantages and disadvantages. More living
diverse species means more stable ecosystem and regular flow of the food ... Show

Bears
The carnivorous Grizzly bear (Ursus arctos L.) is a North American subspecies of
the brown bear and is nowadays the most widely distributed ursid. Nielsen et al
(2006), likens the Grizzly bears as keystone species suitable for discovering
conservation habitat modelling from a survival and occupancy framework. During
the past century their population have declined noticeably throughout much of
North America, mainly due to susceptibility from low density, high trophic level,
low reproductive rates and late maturation. Also, the increased illegal human
access causes the mortality of most of the grizzly bears. Their demographies has
also been changed; the brown bear in the lower 48 states has been reduced to 1% of
its original area. The estimated population size has fallen from 100,000 in the early
19th century to 1000 in 1986 (Waits et al 1998).
