My Experience At University Of Melbourne
I have been a student at University of Melbourne for 4 semesters, and over the commerce course
of my study I have developed and grown more than I thought possible. Business Case Analysis
has not only given me great experience, but also helped me boost my skills and knowledge
through the semester through interactive learning and teamwork. In this course, I have learned
how to approach a problem, particularly in business sector, while also professionally
maintaining collaborative work in teams. This reflection will firstly analyse my experience in
solving cases, and as I go along, I recognized my strengths and weaknesses from my team
members and myself. After that, I will discuss my skills that have developed during the course
and its impact to my future career as business practitioner. At the end of the reflection, further
improvement of the course will be considered. I remember the first and second class, the feeling of
being hit with the harsh and abrupt reality that I need to work absolutely hard this semester. But at
that time, I was not afraid. Instead, I feel challenged and enthusiastic for what I need to overcome
in this subject. I read several cases from international casecompetition and compare the best
solutions from the winner of that competition, with an intention to be more prepared for the first
case. For the first case, our group faced a difficult challenge in identifying the strategy to unfold the
issue of death spiral for Vector Limited. The energy

Should Legal System Be Used To Resolve Purposeful Misconduct
The legal system should be used to resolve purposeful misconduct; instead frivolous lawsuits
have affected every aspect of our society because individuals with legitimate grievances have
been trivialized to a get rich quick mentality that is permeating American society. There was a
time if someone spilled coffee on their lap or tripped on a raised sidewalk, they called
themselves clumsy, but today they call an attorney. Attorneys have created the mindset that
anyone can win the legal lottery by suing over situations that could have been resolved by
simply turning the other cheek. To turn the other cheek, is a biblical instruction to urge people
to be motivated by love and to have a desire for the redemption and forgiveness of offenders in
lieu of personal revenge and/or vengeance. It was also not intended for people to be passive
victims nor suffer in silence and refuse to seek legal protection if a person provoked another into a
confrontation with a literal slap or with stinging sarcasm the person slapped should avoid retaliating
by simply turning the other cheek. Legal historian William Nelson argues that no topic has... Show

English law in its earliest stages did not differentiate between tort and crime; when one person
harmed another, the remedy was known as a feud and the object was to cause an equivalent
harm to the wrongdoer. In the earliest form, English courts were local and applied local laws.
After the Norman conquest of England in 1066, William the Conqueror brought Norman law that
was heavily influenced by Roman law, to intermingle with Anglo Saxon and Celtic legal
traditions. Royal courts were created and gradually took limited jurisdiction over a specified list
of wrongs primarily felonies where there was a breach of the king s peace, and disputes involving

Irony In The Heir
Competition is the process of competing for a prize or advantage. Usually, marriage and
competition are complete opposites. But in this castle, everything about them are considered the
same. The Heir (Kiera Cass), is about a young girl named Eadlyn. She is forced to go through a
Selection that she does not wantto do. This means that she will have 35 suitors ( young princes),
at the castle who will do anything to win over her heart, all to be the King and Queen of Illea.
The Heir is a quality book in most of the elements chosen. In The Heir, Kiera Cass uses

forever and the audience did not think that they would ever come together and show this
affection to each other. This shows a quality plot because, it makes the story. That means that
this scene in The Heir is a huge part in the rest of the book. (Verbal Irony) If it was, perhaps it s

Outline The Cyclic Nature Of The Sun
The sun produces three types of emissions that reach Earth electromagnetic radiation, solar wind,
and neutrinos.
The sun produces electromagnetic radiation of all wavelengths, with the visible spectrum being the
most intense wavelength range produced as the radiation peaks at this area of the EM spectrum.
The Earth s atmosphere absorbs most of this radiation but light and radio waves are able to
penetrate the atmosphere, as well as short wavelength infrared rays and long wavelength
microwaves. X rays and gamma rays are absorbed by the Earth s upper atmosphere.
Solar wind is a continuous stream of charged particles protons and electrons with some atomic
nuclei. It is produced by the hydrogen fusion reactions at the Sun s core with ... Show more content

Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, believed the idea that the Earth was fixed at the centre of the
Universe and that the other planets were embedded in a series of concentric crystalline spheres
surrounding the Earth. He proposed that 56 different crystalline spheres rotated about the Earth at
different rates. Each planet, the Sun, and the moon were in their own sphere surrounding the Earth,
and the stars were placed on the largest sphere surrounding everything else.
About two centuries after Aristotle, Hipparchus showed that the model better predicted the motion
of the heavens if the Earth was placed slightly off the centre of rotation of the celestial spheres.
Apollonius also proposed that the planets changed their speed through the heavens and sometimes
stopped and travelled backwards.
This particular model of the universe mainly evolved around Aristotle s observational evidence of
the time in which he lived, which supported the idea demonstrated in the model. In this theory, the
motion of things naturally moves to the centre of the Earth and the only way to separate from it
was to have a force applied to the

Analysis Of Barbie Doll
Vying for Perfection (1a) The poem Barbie Doll written by Marge Piercy contains several
denotations and connotations throughout the work. Denotation, signifying the literal meaning or
dictionary definition, whereas connotation signifies the various meanings related to the word. In the
poem, the words cosmetics (20) and happy ending (25) stood out. The poet writes, In the casket
displayed on satin she lay / with the undertakers cosmetics painted on, / a turned up putty nose, /.
(lines 19 21) Cosmetics as presented in Webster s Dictionary is relating to or making for beauty
especially of the complexion. The reader could also interpret that word as maybe not just to
look better but to also mask the internal struggle that the individual is dealing with. Using make
up, women more so like to paint a facade to feel and look a certain way to attract others, as the
woman in the poem does. Going to the next phrase, happy ending , denotes that it will end on a
good note for the protagonist. To every woman a happy ending. (line 25) Happy ending could
also be characterized, especially in this poem as the opposite. The woman throughout the poem
is struggling to appeal like a Barbie Doll on the exterior and wants to fulfill society s own
preference for beautiful causing the female to resort to physical harm. She was advised to pay
coy, / exhorted to come on hearty, / exercise, diet, smile, and wheedle. (lines 12 14) As emphasized

Power Circuits Of Electric Power
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Research Background
Power electronics circuits convert electric power from one form to other using electronic devices.
By using semiconductor devices as switches power electronics circuits function, thereby controlling
or modifying a voltage or current. Power electronics application range from high power conversion
equipment such as dc power transmission to everyday appliances, such as cell phone chargers,
cordless screwdrivers, power supplies for computers, and hybrid automobiles. Power electronics
includes applications in which circuits process miliwatts or megawatts. Power electronics include
conversion of an unregulated dc voltage to a regulated dc voltage conversion of ac to dc,
conversion of dc to ac, and conversion of an ac power source from one amplitude and frequency to
another amplitude and frequency. These power converters are classified as rectifiers, AC voltage
controllers, DC choppers and inverters, which covers wide area of residential, commercial and
industrial applications, including computers, transportation and power utilizes [1].
Power electronic converters, especially DC/AC inverters have been extending their range of use in
industrial application because they provide better system efficiency, reduced energy consumption
and improved quality of power. The output voltage of inverter could be fixed or variable at a fixed
or variable frequency and output waveforms are therefore made up of discrete values, producing
fast transition

The Worst Sort Of Husband By Daniel Defoe
The Worst Sort of Husband Daniel Defoe
The Worst Sort of Husband by Daniel Defoe was written to explain the different types of husbands
women deal with and their personalities. This analysis goes in depth on how diverse husbands can
be. There are five different husbands described in the analysis: the Drunken Husband, the
Debauched Husband, the Fighting Husband, and the Extravagant Husband. Each husband
described was a male s point of view of men for a sober woman s knowledge on who she wants to
marry. The author, Daniel Defoe was an English writer that lived in the 1700s. Daniel Defoe did
not always have this name because he changed his name to something that he personally thought
was professional. Defoe wanted his name to sound more like a gentleman s name and that is the
name he chose. Defoe was a very famous writer in the 1700s in London, England and was
acknowledged by all his written work. Personally, I believe Daniel Defoe wrote this article out of
humor, but I m also not sure of what exactly people thought was humorous in the 1700s. If not
humorous, this article was meant to be informational for woman. ... Show more content on

husband a sober woman can marry? . Children, males, and elders are the excluded audience of this
article about husbands. Children have yet to get married, men aren t necessarily interested in

disorder is called hyperpigmentation. Melanin can increase due to exposure to sun, aging,
pregnancy, trauma or having a certain illness. Sunlight or chemical compounds in the environment
are external causes of melanin disorder. The internal causes are inborn. For instance, darker skin

Raising Medical Malpractice
The rising price of health care and the amount of medical malpractice claims being filed sparked
a start to this controversial topic. The average price of medical care has gone up roughly 20
percent between the late 80s and the early 2000s (The risk authority, 2014). And the amount of
medical malpractice claims in the same twenty years has arisen from one person filing a claim to
five people filing the same claim, in a small ratio (Doyle, n.d.). The rising cost of medical
expenses is feeding off of the increase in the amount of these cases filed every year. There are other
reasons for the medical cost to rise such as the new expensive treatments and medications. But these
new innovations are also raising the amount medical malpractice... Show more content on

As medical innovations advance throughout time, the quality of medicine and care is increasing
along with the costs of health care because of the amount of medical malpractice suits filed. And
each with their increasingly steep, positive association, rising quickly, feed off of each other
giving a negative impact on the people needing this care. According to National Health
Expenditures, in the year 2016 health care spending sky rocked increasing by 4.3 percent, this is
an average of more than $10,000 per person and as a whole $3.3 trillion in the U.S. (Joyce,
2016). These increasing prices gives horrible news for the majority of U.S. citizens, the average
of more than $10,000 per person can be detrimental to anyone. People just don t have this kind of
money to drop on health care. The average income for one person is just over $80,000. This
means that for the family of four (two parents, two children), this amount of money is a quarter
of their income before taxes, food, and other necessities. The non conquencidental cause of the
rise in the price of health care is the increasing amount of medical malpractice claims. A graph
from The Risk Authority Medical Malpractice Trend Review states that, for a large case between
the late 1980s and the early 2000s the amount of cases rose roughly 20 percent, this means that
for every one person in the late 1980s that filed a claim, in the early 2000s five people filed a
medical malpractice claim (Doyle, n.d.). The increasing amount of medical malpractice claims
is rising the price of health care for everyone. This is because the doctors have to pay for these
cases, and they are paying for them out of pocket, even if it is found to not be medical
malpractice, they still have to pay for the court fees out of pocket. To make up for the court fees
and payouts, they raise their costs. This

Ides Of March Essay
The Ides of March: A dreaded day of disaster, universally associated with doom and tragic events.
The Ides of March corresponds with the fifteenth of March and will forever live in ignominy for
the infamous assassination of Julius Caesar. This particular day holds personal significance to me:
it falls on the day I was born. I will be the first to admit that I have had some strange birthdays.
However, it wasn t until the day I turned thirteen that it became evident that something more than
bad luck was behind my misfortune; maybe the Ides of Marchhas been the root of my birthday
curse all along. In January 2015, I auditioned for the school play: Hairspray. Although I ve never
considered myself musically talented, somehow, I recieved the role I requested and was ecstatic.
The performance dates were two months away, and coincidentally, the two days after I turned
thirteen; I couldn t wait.

unfortunate turn of events shaped me into the person I am today and taught me a vital life lesson:
how to deal with my own disappointment and put my problems into perspective.
Although my birthday was nothing like I had envisioned, I was fortunate in many ways. I had
the luxury of being in a state of the art hospital and receiving excellent care along with the
reassurance of a great prognosis. I knew deep down that a trip to Chicago could easily be
rescheduled. After moving past the initial shock, I also realized that being deprived of a single ski
trip was not the end of the world. I was so blessed to be able to spend a relaxing week with my
family. Supporting my cast from the audience members forced me to swallow my pride and

Autodidactic And Active Learner-Active Learning
Autodidactic, Active Learner Active learning is a learning style whereby the student is tasked to
inquire, gather, analyze and perform higher order reasoning. The active learning strategy attempts
to engage the student on a spectrum of communication types. Active learning stimulates different
regions of the brainand the simultaneity ties them together. For instance reading activates the visual
cortex, listening the temporal lobe, writing the cerebellum, analyzing the prefrontal lobes. This is
also know as whole brain learning. This is aptly described in the adage Cells that fire together,
wire together. The student that is able to learn independently of a formal class is called a self

learning. In leader lead or group learning the student and teacher experience resonance in their
mirror neurons. Neurons sympathetically imitate across a group of individuals, creating a
commonality. Since this interaction is not promoted by self learning. Individuals might find
difficulties with self learning. Experiencing feelings of distance, isolation and lack of inclusion.
Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder may not notice a difference between a class room and

Changes And Effects Of The Hundred Years War
The Hundred Years War is the seventh longest war in history lasting one hundred and sixteen
years in which there were 3.5 million deaths. The Hundred Years War was between France and
England from 1337 to 1453 over the succession to the French throne. When Charles IV of France
died without sons in 1328, his closest male relative was King Edward III of England. Isabella of
France claimed the French throne for her son, but the French rejected it. Philip of Valois, first
cousin of Charles IV, succeeded the throne as King Philip VI of France. For about nine years the

There were many different weapons, some old behind established and some new and created by
the kingdoms. The creation of the longbow changed the course of the war, giving a distinct
advantage to the English. This weapon was utilized to its full potential because it changed the
feudal armies to small archery based troops. There were also developments of other weapons
that the English and French did not create but used the weapons for the first time in the location.
The effect changed the way they traded and with whom they traded. New places began to trade
with France and England so they were exposed to different cultures and societies. France and
England took these new weapons and made advancements to them like adding a spear to the end
of the gun or creating stronger bullets.21 New believes began to develop throughout France and
England including the belief of nationalism throughout the society. This new belief changed
society drastically and made for a strong and powerful monarch in both France and England.
Because of these new believes army sizes grew which in turn caused more deaths but also
increased manpower for the king. These believes solved the crisis because the king needed troops
and the commoners needed money. It also caused France and England to believe that their country

Gender Portrayal Of Rock Climbing Essay
Introduction
In this paper, I would like to examine how gender is portrayed in rock climbing. I would like to
find out if genders are sexualized, objectified or shown differently. I would also like to see if there
is any transgender or transsexual representation in the sport of rock climbing. Transgender is an
umbrella term for a range of people who do not fit into normative constructions of sex and gender
(Ravelli, Webber, 2016), and a transsexual person is someone who undergoes sex reassignment
(Ravelli, Webber, 2016). I am defining gender as: social distinctions between masculinity and
feminity (Ravelli, Webber, 2016).
I will be looking primarily for under representation (and therefore over representation) of either
gender as well as themes of hegemonic masculinity and emphasized feminity. These are the current
social gender ideals to many people in Western societies that both gender should strive for.
Hegemonic masculinity in sports could look like muscular, shirtless men performing difficult
athletic tasks and being paid for it, because they are a professional athlete. Emphasized feminity
would look like a female athlete in sparse clothing, taking part in a women s activity (for example:
horrible emphasized feminity would be many photos of women only supporting climbers rather
than climbing). She would be perceived as attractive to men, but not strong and respectable as an
athlete or competitor. These gender influences have been placed upon infants depending on their

In addition, stone statues were depicted in the film as well. For example, many stone headed

were presented in the film too. The artwork on vases showed past historic events. Furthermore,
religion was referred a lot in the film. Hellenism was brought up in the film. For example,
Olympias was surrounded with snakes in her room. There are scenes where Olympias had
snakes wrapped around her leg. This represents that she was a follower of the god, Dionysius,
whose rituals involved snakes coiling themselves around human bodies. Moreover, there were
references to Greek gods and goddesses. For example, Olympias told Alexander that his real
father was Zeus, and he had no blood relation to King Philip II. Additionally, Alexander (2004)
presented several examples of a woman s status in ancient times. Women are portrayed as child
bearers. In the a scene, King Philip II said to Alexander that he can marry as many wives as he
want, so he can have as many sons. Also, women are not schooled, but stayed at home. For
example, no girls were seen when Aristotle was teaching young Alexander and other boys about
ethics and politics. Geography was also depicted in the film. There was various transportations that

live in a valley closed off from the people and places around them. Elisa is a very lonely and
confided person, who is unsure of her green thumb abilities. She has a garden full of
Chrysanthemums which to most green thumbs are some of the hardest to care for, but Elisa dose
it effortlessly. The story sets a scene of a dark and closed off area in which they live. The first
paragraph says The high grey flannel fog of winter closed off the SalinasValley from the sky and
from all the rest of the world. On every side, it sat like a lid on the mountains and made of the great
valley a closed pot (Steinbeck 1). This hints at us how where they live might affect the confidence
of Elisa. Living in an area closed off from the world around you will keep you from growing and
building as a person. Elisa already is unsure of herself. Elisa s appearance shows how she never is
worried about her looking her best, Her figure looked blocked and heavy in her gardening
costume, a man s black hat pulled low down over her eyes, clodhopper shoes, a figured print
dress almost completely covered by a big corduroy apron with four big pockets to hold the snips
(Steinbeck 1). Elisa being in such a closed off environment dose not add to her social interaction.
The house they live in is a farmhouse with lots of land separating one another from their
neighbors. This means the contact Elisa has is just of her husband on a day to day basis. Her
husband, Henry, believes she is a great green thumb. He leans over the fence to tell Elisa You
got a strong new crop coming (Steinbeck 2). He goes out without her to the city to watch fights,
but only jokingly asks her to come. Henry loves his wife, but when she talks about expanding her
garden he never really says much back to her. For example, Elisa begins to talk about how she
thinks maybe growing her garden would be a good idea and he doesn t encourage her, he just skips
to talking about date night. He says, And I thought, he continued, I thought how it s Saturday
afternoon, and we might go into Salinas for dinner at a restaurant, and then to a picture show to
celebrate, you see (Steinbeck 3).

Changing Attitudes During World War I
I Think during the war the attitude towards the two didn t change much. However later in the

Historical Context Of Paul Vi s Decree On Ecumenism
Historical Context
When Pope Paul VI published The Decree on Ecumenism: Unitatis Redintergratio in 1964, it
signalled the Catholic Church s official entrance into the Christian ecumenical movement.
Historically, the ecumenical movement began when the World Missionary Conference first
convened in 1910, establishing two ecumenical organs: Life and Works, and Faith and Order
(Textbook). Prior to the promulgation of Unitatis Redintergratio, the Catholic Churchs view of the
ecumenical movement was defined by Paul VI s predecessors Leo XIII and Pius XI, who insisted
that the Catholic Church is the only Church of Christ, therefore barring Catholics from
participating in interchurch dialogue (Textbook). These sentiments forbade ecumenical ... Show

The decree identifies that there are doctrinal differences between Protestant communities and the
Catholic Church. However, despite these doctrinal differences the sacrament of baptism ensures
that Protestants are members of Christ s body (UR 3). As members of Christ s body, the Protestants
are privy to salvation as Children of the Catholic Church (UR 3). Chapter one concludes that
members of the Catholic Church should pray and stay informed about their Protestant brethren in
order to promote Christian unity (UR 4). Chapter two explains that the ecumenical unity is the
concern of the whole Church, the congregation and clergy, which is manifested by the bond all
Christians share with Christ (UR 5). Chapter two continues to clarify that Christian unity is
dependent on the moral reformation of Catholics, to ensure its faithful live according to Church s
moral teachings (UR 6). Unitatis Redingratio insists that Catholics strive for a deeper knowledge of
their Christian brethren in hope that the dialogue between Christian communities can remove the
obstacles hindering Christian unity (UR 7 12). The final chapter of the decree focuses on the
division between the Roman Church and the Churches/ ecclesial communities of the East and West.
Regarding the Church in the East, Unitatis Redintergratio explains that the Catholic Church enjoys
a special relationship with the Orthodox Church, due to their shared apostolic foundation (UR 14).

Is The Self Mutilation Is Characterized By Autoagressive...
Self mutilation is characterized by autoagressive behaviors without intent to die, and is not
uncommonly encountered in clinical practice, with an estimated prevalence of 4.3% in general
psychiatric patients. The highest incidences of self mutilation have been reported in prisoners,
institutionalized teenagers with antisocial traits, and among those diagnosed with autism,
schizophrenia, intellectual disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries [1].
Major self mutilation is a rare, severe manifestation of deliberate self harm that results in perpetual
loss of function or capacity of an organ and constitutes a medical/surgical and psychiatric
emergency[2]. Notably the act of major self mutilation usually is associated with delusions or
hallucinations [3].Auto emasculation, a subtype of major self mutilation, typically manifests in the
context of schizophrenia[4] , and presents a significant management challenge for both medical
/surgical and psychiatric providers, in part because of the lack of clinical guidelines for
pharmacological management.
Here, we describe a patient with schizoaffective disorder who presented with status post auto
emasculation in context of severe psychosis. While penile reattachment was unsuccessful, the
patient s psychotic symptoms responded well to clozapine, a third line antipsychotic medication that
has been demonstrated to be effective for treatment of aggressive behaviors [5]. To our knowledge,

The Use Of Electroconvulsive Therapy Is It Really...
Electroconvulsive Therapy is it Really Controversial Anthony R. McMillan University of South
Florida Sarasota Manatee Electroconvulsive Therapy History: The precursors for this therapy type
were introduced long before electroconvulsive therapy even entered into the picture. In the early
16th century using medical drugs to induce seizures was thought to be appropriate to treat
therapeutic conditions. This was followed with an article in the London Medical Journal in 1785
stating that inducing seizures could be used for therapeutic use. Convulsive therapy would then
reappear in 1934 when a neurologist by the name of the Ladislas J. Meduna first began to induce
seizures in patients first by using the drug camphor and the following up with the drug metrazol. In
1937 the first international meeting on convulsive therapy was held in Switzerland and 3 years
after that cardiazal convulsive therapy would be used worldwide. In 1937 an Italian professor of
neuropsychiatry be the name of Ugo Cerletti with his colleague Lucio Bini would be the first
people to replace metrazol with electricity in the convulsive therapy. The reasons that he choose to
replace metrazol with electricity in the therapy was based on previous experiments he had
conducted on inducing seizures in animals using electroshock. Previous experiments that he had
done with animals included noticing that in dogs giving them an electric shock to the head would
result in convulsions. Another

concerned about this, as there is no biological reason to frequently ejaculate. If you are
concerned about a potential reaction of a sexual partner, then relieve yourself a few days before
intercourse. Treatments for Yellow Sperm 1. Hydration Be certain to adjust your fluid
consumption. Increase the amount of water that you drink each day. You should attempt to
drink a gallon of water every day. Your boy uses water in nearly every process, and your sperm
cells and seminal fluid require water to be healthy and properly colored. Reduce consumption of
soda, coffee, energy drinks and any other fluid that is processed, dyed and filled with additional

consumption of these drugs may also cause fertility problems in the future. Instead of relying on

Apparently, the so called tradition, or convention, is not really easy or clear to define for the first
place. It seems like many innovation can become a tradition as time goes by. In this case, we
shouldn t deny the change or innovation in culture because we are really not sure if it is going to
thrive in the future.
Changes in cultures can sometimes help people to abandon old habits which are unfair, unhealthy
etc. In my opinion one of the major improvement is the shifted concept of gender equality. I
believe everyone is born equal, so I strongly support the idea that women deserve the right to
choose what they want and to abandon those conventional thinking. As is mentioned in the passage
I believe that women, like men, should have the vote, should be entitled to work outside their
homes, should be protected from the physical abuse of men, including their fathers, brothers and
husbands. Thanks to the improvements in culture, we can finally make some progresses on this
issue. And as more and more people have recognized the importance of women right problem, I
believe the absolute equality between men and women will sooner or later achieved. In the
passage, the author also mentioned the practice of foot binding in China , a rigid, insane and
harmful tradition that persisted for a thousand years and was largely eradicated within a generation.

Beer is not a new thing. Alcoholic beverages date as far back as 10,000 B.C.E and Sumerians in
2000 B.C.E. had prepared recipes for eight different beer types, ranging from strong, red brown,
and good dark (Mauk, 2013). Breweries have created their own recipes, brewed their own beers
some with alcohol, some without and most recently there has been the craft beerexplosion. Perhaps
the Sumerian beer could be argued as the first craft beer. Over the past few years, craft beer has
been gaining steady market share from the national and international beer breweries, with a focus
on micro breweries and brew pubs (Murray O Neill, 2012). Separating one beer from the next is

##k Of Relationships In Sinclair Ross s The Painted Door
Relationships, one of the key factors of the advancement of humanity. We all are surrounded by
relationships, some may be easier to identify than others. But one relationship which stands out
greater than the rest is the one between a married couple. These people are usually from completely
different families and unite together to decide to spend the rest of their lives together. But
sometimes the relationship does not work out. We can witness this in Sinclair Ross s short story
The Painted Door, in which Ann a farmer s wife who has cheated on her husband John, which has
brought the end of Johns life and ultimately the end of their relationship. It is arguable that the
reason behind Ann cheatingand bringing the end to their relationship arguably is isolation,
neglection and lack of understanding, but what is the root cause of all these problems in their
relationship? The answer is simple lack of communication. Thus, it is the lack of communication
which has caused isolation, neglection and the lack of understanding of each other in the
relationship, resulting in the failure of the relationship.
One of the effects of the vicious poison of relationships known as lack of communication creates a
side effect of isolation. Isolation is a position in which any human will make mistakes which they
may greatly regret in the near future. This is exemplified when Ann is isolated at home and ends
up cheating on John with Steve. After she has betrayed John she realizes of her

The Spectroscopy Lab Centralized On The Properties Of Waves
The spectroscopy lab centralized on the properties of waves and they relate to the emission
spectrum, however one must understand the Bohr model of the atom first. The Bohr model for the
atom depicts a planetary like structure, with a positively charged nucleus in the center with small,
negatively charged electrons rotating around in specific, fixed orbits at different distances from the
nucleus. When an electrontransitions from a higher orbital, where it is in its excited state, back
down to a lower orbital where it is relaxed or in its ground state, it emits light. The emitted light is a
result of the electron releasing the previously absorbed energy. It is possible to observe an
electron in one state or another, however an electron never possesses the capability to be observed
in between states. Transitions between states that are closer together, produce a light of lower
energy transitions of a longer distance.
A spectroscope is able to display the emitted light by presenting the bright interference patterns of
the diverse wavelengths which make up the spectrum. By looking through the eyepiece, a spectrum
will appear on either side of the slit the slit starts all of the light waves passing down the tube in
phase so that they arrive at the slits in the diffraction grating at the same time. When wavelengths
are in phase, they create constructive interference, which results in double the amplification, while

The Ethics Of Medical Ethics Essay
Introduction
Ethics are a set of beliefs about right and wrong . The idea about medical ethics was first brought
up by Hippocrates in the Hippocratic Oath in about the 4th century BC. The Oath states that doctors
should always keep their patients prior to anything else and should avoid causing harm.
(Brightknowledge.org, 2016)
The health, life and death of a human being is in the hands of a medical doctor and other health
care professionals. They have direct contact with the patients, prescribe their medications and even
have the right to determine who is going to live and who will die. They have been given powers to
decide over human life and death, which gives them a huge importance in our lives. Medical ethics
deals with the practice of medicine and health care, thus has an enormous impact on human life, as
we are trusting medical professionals with our lives. (Newworldencyclopedia.org., 2014)
Medical ethics
Since many years, philosophers have been working on medical ethics and have come up with many
different ethical theories. As stated by English, Sommerville and Brannan (2012), some of these
theories are namely; consequentialist ethics, communitarian ethics, deontological ethics, the four
principles to approach to ethics, narrative ethics and virtue ethics. These principles are concisely
explained below.
Consequentialist ethics
Consequentialism focuses on the actions of an individual and states that the right action is the

economic trap did peasants suffer from according to lines 3 4? 3: Changed with their children,
and chief lord s rent 4: What by spinning they save, they spend it in house hire Answer: The
economic trap that is stated in this poem, translated by Terence Tiller, to the peasants is a couple
of things. First, in the 3rd line, it states, Charged with their children, and chief lords rent, which
is implying that they must pay for their children and also pay or rent the land that they live on
which is granted to them by the lords. In line 4 it states, What by spinning they save, they spend it
in house hire. This is stating that the peasants would have to also pay for their houses damages
while being stressed by all the other cluttered things they must pay for. They overall economic trap
for the peasants is them paying others and for themselves to live a somewhat healthy life, such as
lords and vassals and for their children. Document 2 Quotation from Juan Ruiz What does the

Barrett Seven Levels Of Consciousness Analysis
Introduction
Leadership skills are very important for a project manager since project manager is always a
leader due to his/her position. Leadership is defined by behavior, which in turn is dependent on
personal values. This is why this essay will look at Barrett Seven Levels of Consciousness Model
that categorizes individual values, Life Orientations Model (LIFO) that describes four behavioral
styles and FIRO B Model that also illustrates different behavioral components. The survey results
will be compared and similar patterns will be identified. After that the possible gaps in the
leadership style and behavior will be uncovered. Finally, an action plan will be developed to remove
these gaps and improve both individual and team performance, contributing to successful
management of the projects in future.

Amadeus Conflict Essay
I believe the central conflict in Amadeus is Salieri s jealousy towards Mozart. Salieri really
admires Mozart and his outstanding music even though Mozart is a few years younger than him.
Salieri begins to feel envy and jealousy towards Mozart when Mozart enters the emperor s palace
and calls one of Salieri s old songs a funny little tune. Mozart then proceeds to point out the flaws
in the piece and explains how Salieri could improve his piece making Salieri question why God
had blessed someone like Mozart with such talent.
In the following scene, we learn that Prince Elizabeth, the emperor s niece, needs a tutor. The
emperor immediately thinks of Mozart but Salieri being the envious individual that he is turns
the idea down quickly and suggests that he should have people apply for the position instead.
Mozart refuses to apply for the position so his wife Constanze decides to take matters into her
own hands and goes and speaks to Salieri; Salieri is part of the committee who reviews

As for metal, it has many uses. In fact, modern civilization has thrived off of things where iron is
used like: buildings, car frames, bridges, and much more.
Is this element rare? Where can it be found?
Iron is the fourth common element. It can be found in Earth s crust and core. There is an abundant
amount of iron that can be found in the stars.
How easy is it to extract and use this element?
It is a long process to extract Iron to get it from an ore to its final product. In the beginning stages,
an iron ore is heated along with limestone and pure carbon in a furnace that reaches temperatures
ranging up to 1,500В°C (2,700В°F); this process helps remove oxygen from iron ore. The
limestone is used to erase imperfectirons.
Is your element found in the human body? If so, what function does it perform?
Iron is a mineral found in the human body. It is a part of the protein hemoglobin of a cell, which
transports oxygen from our lungs throughout our bodies.
With what elements does it react? Are these chemical compounds beneficial or harmful?
When Iron reacts with oxygen, it starts to rust.
Why did you choose your element s sidekick or nemesis? What makes your superhero element want
to combine with or repulse this other element?
I chose carbon as her sidekick because when combined, it creates carbon steel, making Iron stronger
by not being susceptible to rusting. Iron s parents died shortly right

Consuming Energy Drinks
Another issue with consuming energy drinks is that their ingredient make up is not typically
provided to the consumer in the form of a nutrition label (Marczinski et al. 2014). The issue with
this is that the consumer really has no idea what he or she is consuming. This can be potentially
dangerous in its self because this common energy blend that is present in most energy drinks can
hold many types of psychoactive compounds such as caffeineand guarana which primarily affect
the brain and mind (Marczinski et al. 2014). However, there are many common ingredients that
energy drinks contain as well as naturally include hidden sources of caffeine (Higgins et al. 2010).

Rip Van Winkle, By Washington Irving
Rip Van Winkle
The short story, Rip Van Winkle has journeyed through many years of popularity in American
literature. This narrative is eloquently written by Washington Irving, a prolific nineteenth century
American writer. The Author sets the story in a village near the Hudson River, along the banks of
the Catskill Mountains where Great Britain once held reigns. Irving presents the reader with a story
that effectively delivers an abundance of connotations representing the era of its origin. Through
the use of characterization, imagery and symbolism, the reader can infer that Washington Irvingis
conveying a complex theme of historical transformation in society.
Rip Van Winkleis characterized as an ordinary mortal man who is married to Dame Van Winkle.
She is infuriated by, his idleness, his carelessness, and the ruin he [is] bringing upon his family
(Irving 32). However Rip s actions towards his family and farm are directly opposite to those of
his neighbors; as stated by Irving, he [is] a great favorite among all the good wives of the village
(31). Although he is favored by all the villagers who defend him, his peace is not found there, at
home. Irving depicts Rip as a man who yearns for tranquility, simplicity and content. On the
contrary, Dame is portrayed as a woman who is antagonizing and infuriated. Thus, the two
characters can be integrated into the transformation America was going through in the late 1700 s.
One can say that Rip s character, on one hand,

shipping fleet. This delivery method allows Amazon more control by no longer having to
depend on the U.S. Postal Service, UPS, or FedEx. This on demand delivery service allows
independent couriers to deliver packages faster. Amazon first established this method of delivery
to offer faster deliveries to Prime members. However, it is now offering drivers the opportunity to
deliver standard packets as well. Amazon s shipping segment has a strategic position of low cost
and a niche market, which aligns perfectly with what Flex drivers offer the company.
The potential to reduce delivery times as well as cut costs is highly likely by expanding the use of
own cargo planes and Flex drivers nationwide and internationally. As of December of 2016,
Amazon is operating a total of 346 global distribution infrastructures, 201 of which are located in
the U.S., and 37 facilities in the making. If cargo planes could deliver to these locations and if a
Flex driver delivery system is offered directly from each of these facilities, no new distribution
centers would be required. Expedited delivery services could be offered within the cities that
already have established Amazon infrastructures. Since no new facilities are required, a
combination of Prime Air and the Flex driver delivery system could be expanded in a short period
of time both national and internationally.

The Importance Of Being A Philadelphian
You don t have to be born in Philadelphia to be considered a Philadelphian. To be a Philadelphian
means that you are a part of the wonderful artsy streets, or you are in love with the soft pretzels
that you can find on almost every block. To be a Philadelphian means that you enjoy walking
through all the green parks and maybe go to the nearest free library and snuggle up with a book.
Living as a Philadelphian means that you are free to be you and be a part of millions of different
cultures. Growing up in South Philadelphiahas been a great experience for me. I have been
surrounded by many different races and ethics since birth. Philadelphia has opened my eyes to how
many different people there are in this world. It has shown me culture, art, history, and even great

The Great Depression
The great depression is one of the most well known economic events of the 20th century because
the economy of the United States collapsed from 1929 to 1933. This was the longest economic
depression in the history of the United States. Despite the positive outlook projected during Herbert
Hoover s campaign in 1928, a large portion of the population, and even many economists did not see
the signs of the crumbling economy. Surprisingly, the great depression emerged along with the
positive economic policies of President Hoover, and the promise to eliminate poverty from the
United States. In overview, it is important to understand the dimensions of the great depression,
what caused it, why the economic crises extended, and the contribution of the financial sector in
progression of the economic catastrophes of this time in American history.
Dimensions of the Great Depression
From 1929 to 1933, the United States economy was at standstill arousing fear and anguish among
many citizens.

Essay Letter to John Adams from Abigail Adams
Letter to John Adams from Abigail Adams and Letter from John Adams to Abigail Adams
1.Abigail Adams establishes ethos in the opening paragraph by asking questions about the issue at
hand. By mentioning the Defense Virginia she shows that she is knowledgeable about the issue at
hand, even though she does not yet have a definite stance on it. The questions show her urgent tone
and care for her husband. The questions show that she is concerned about him and his well being.
2.Abigail tries to convey the general impact of the Revolution in Boston. She chose the details she

He knew it was against universal liberty; but he felt it was not right to give women such power.
7.The tone of Abigail s letter to John is more sincere than his letter to her. In her letter you can
tell that even though she does not agree with some of his stands on issues she still loves and
supports him. The tone of John s letter is dry, with not much emotion. He doesn t show much
concern for her or her ideals. The only evidence of intimacy found is when they discuss their
children. In Abigail s letter intimacy is also found when the reader finds that she misses him and
worries about him and when she says she is willing to do anything he needs.
8.If she knew he letter was to be published she probably would have probably not been as nagging
on her husband to write more than he does. She would have probably thought that other reads may
have felt she came off as clingy and sense desperation so she would have written more calmly and
collectively.
9.In a world filled with social media the line between public and private hardly exists. People
these days publish anything and everything on line, regardless of how private it should be. Of
course, there are people who don t feel the need to advertise their every thought, but most do.

Politics and Culture of Mexico SOC315: Cross Cultural Perspectives Instructor Theodore July 2,
2012 While politics in Mexico may one day be good for the people of Mexico, the current state
of the country is not so good. The poverty level of Mexico has always been high, the country is
known to be run by drugs and horrible, inhumane working conditions are common because of
outside business coming in and taking advantage of what people will do for little money in the
country. The people of Mexico have never had a chance to actually maintain control over who

Face Communication Is More Effective Than Other Types Of...
There are many different points to consider when considering whether face to face communication
is more or less effective than other types of communication, such as the importance of facial
expressions and nonverbal body language. Communication would be considered effective when the
most information is conveyed between the people involved. Nonverbal body languageis generally
nonverbal behaviours that can include interpersonal distance, body movement, facial behaviour,
touch, vocal behaviours, and others. (Hall, Coats and LeBeau, 2005) With nonverbal body
language one needs to consider what signals do people pick up from nonverbal communicationas
well as what conversations lose with these signals. However, there is the other side to... Show more

Another thing that is offered by face to face communication is that it offers something when
information is received and understood, without delay, something electronic forms of
communication cannot offer. Face to face communication also offers the opportunity to take turns
when speaking and in turn create a sequence whereas with electronic communications, such as
emails or texts, the conversation can be broken up by irrelevant interruptions and do not have the
same effect. However Clark Brennan, (1990) did look at how electronic communication can also
be a more effective form of communication. For example with emails and texts information will
always be there and can be later reviewed by other people in case there needs to be editing of
information before sending. Face to face communication can possibly be irreplaceable as well.
Hallowell, (1999) looked at how face to face communication is essential for human movement, an
authentic psychological encounter that occurs when two people share the same physical space as
well as emotional and intellectual attention. However on the other hand face to face communication
can be disruptive and costly, and other forms of communication might be preferable. Sproull and
Kiesler, (1992) found that technological changes can help people cross social, psychological and
physical boundaries and can effect group behaviour and decision

America s Response To Terrorism Essay
America should respond to threats of terrorism by collaborating with other countries to fight
terrorism. There are two reasons why America should respond to threats of terrorism by
collaborating with other countries to fight terrorism. One reason is that it could bring countries
together to make a strong international community and have more military, finance, diplomatic, and
intelligence tools necessary to address terrorism. The second reason is that it could get the U.S.
more allies to help them with their problems. Some people think America should respond to threats
of terrorism by defending their homeland because taking sides in other international conflicts could
only increase the United Statesvulnerability. The less the U.S. is involved... Show more content on

Collaborating with other countries could bring countries together to make a strong international
community and have more military, finance, diplomatic, and intelligence tools necessary to address
terrorism. International cooperation brings together the military, financial, diplomatic, and
intelligence tools necessary to address international terrorism (Choices for the 21st century
education program). When international cooperation comes together, the U.S. has more of
everything including military forces, finances, diplomatic, and intelligence tools. These are the
things they need to fight and stop terrorism. But if they try to stop these terrorist groups
individually, then the terrorist groups would over power them and win. The UN is only as strong
as its member states. In order for the UN to be effective it must have the full support of the United
States (Choices for the 21st century education program). This quote is saying that without the
United States help the UN is not as strong as it is with the U.S. Working together is the key to
success. Working together could get more allies and forming an alliance with powerful nations

The Legend Of Alice Monologue
It was an immaculate wedding, white roses adorning the hedges and everyone dressed in lightly
coloured dresses and suits. Alice, a nineteen year old bridesmaid, attending the wedding as her
auntie was getting married, was in a pale blue dress and had light curly blonde hair. She didn t
want to be there, but she was forced by her Auntie. Her Auntie Paige loved the colour red and
didn t love anything else (she was only marrying for the money), she was so infuriated that there
were only white roses that she ended up destroying the delicate gold and white cake. Alice then
began to sneak out, and explore the intricate hedge maze as she wanted to leave the unfortunate
wedding. As she walked along she smelt the freshly picked white roses and felt the glistening
sun on her, she loved the feeling of being alone; being isolated from everyone, she didn t want to
be like everyone else and end up getting married, settle down and have kids, she wanted to explore
and adventure around the world. Suddenly, Alice spotted a peculiar creature that hopped along in
the distance; it had tall ears, lightly coloured fur and was quite small, it was holding an interesting
device that looked like a compass crossed with a clock. The creature started rushing faster than

Essay on The Comparison of Sigmund Freud and B.F. Skinner
The Comparison of Sigmund Freud and B.F. Skinner One name that jumps out at the mention of
psychology, or the study there of, is the name of Sigmund Freud. Sigmund Freud is also known as
the Father of Psychoanalysis. Freud was also known for having the tendency to trace nearly all
psychological problems back to sexual issues. Although only parts of his theory of psychosexual
development are still accepted by mainstream psychologists, Freud s theory of the Oedipal
Complex has become a cultural icon (Freud, Sigmund, 2012). Freud is known for developing the

B.F. Skinner, Sept, 2012). Skinner was a prolific author, publishing nearly 200 articles and more
than 20 books. Skinner was most known for his work in behavior psychology. Behavioral
psychology is the psychological practice that focuses on learning new behaviors and how to modify
our existing behavior and how that takes place (About B.F. Skinner, Sept, 2012). One of his major
contributions was his theory of operant conditioning. Operant conditioning means roughly, the
changing of behavior by the use of reinforcement, either positive or negative, and which these
reinforcements are given after the desired response (About B.F. Skinner, Sept, 2012). Skinner
identified three types of responses or operant that can follow behavior. While behaviorism is no

Diabetes Is A Common Disease That Affects A Large Number...
Introduction Few would argue that diabetes mellitus is not a common disease that affects a large
number of the World s population. Shockingly, the World Health Organization reported that an
estimated 347 million people globally have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes (Bossart et al., 2015).
In the United States alone that number is 29 million (Wilkins, 2017). What most people do not
understand is the distinct connection between diabetes and poor oral health. In fact, periodontal
disease is considered to be a common complication of diabetes, proving that the connection between
the two diseases is strong. Diabetes is one of the most common systemic diseases that has been
studied with in depth detail as it relates to periodontal disease. Gingivitis and periodontitisboth fall
under the umbrella of periodontal disease. Gingivitis is inflammation of just the gingival tissue.
When gingivitis is left untreated it leads to periodontitis, which permanently damages the
supporting tissue and bone.
Numerous studies have been conducted throughout the years to scientifically prove the link
between these two common diseases. The research that has been found is overwhelming, revealing
how diabetes can exacerbate periodontal disease. It is important to note that both diabetes and
periodontal disease are considered chronic inflammatory diseases. With such a large number of the
population having some form of diabetes, it will be important for the dental team to understand the
connection

Reflective Statement
My understanding of the novel The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with The Sea written by Yukio
Mishima was considerably furthered by the interactive oral. My ideas on the text before compared
to my thoughts after the oral were greatly different.
One of the major talking points of the interactive oral was the how the author voiced his own
personal thoughts. Most works of literature convey some of the author s personal thoughts and
interests however in this novel Mishima conveys a sense of despair as too the state of Japan after
their defeat in World War Two. In the oral we collectively as a group discussed that Mishima
despised what Japan had become and how this was conveyed in the text.
This westernisation of Japan was represented in the novel by the character of Ryuji Tsukazaki
who after beginning the story as an honourable sailor one of the only true things permissible
according to the group of savage boys become nothing but a glorified house maid. The young
boy, Noburu, reflects Mishima s personal views on the subject by demonstrating the old code of
bushido when he says how can this man be saying things like that this splendid hero who once
shone so brightly? . In the oral we discussed how this quote was a metaphor for what Ryuji and to
a larger extent what Japan had become in real life.
A further instance in which the interactive oral

Persuasive Essay On Respect In Society
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do
for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but
what, together, we can do for the freedom of man , states the revered and sound late President
Kennedy, a man who truly believed in the cruciality of respect within and for the nation one
inhabits. A society is not only the making up a community, but it is a factor reflecting the ideals of
justice, morality, and the overall character of every individual within the given society. Without
respect, without consideration for the greater good, there is simply no reasonable possibility of a
prospering and flourishing society ever emerging. In this current world one experiences day in and
day out, the slaughtering of the innocent, the unrelenting violence, the angst between races, and the
lack of integrity all influence the declining of our once thriving nation, therefore causing a
termination to the aspects of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Within the last year, if one
were to access any form of news media, more than half of the material displayed would include
one of the three following topics: terrorism, massacre, death. In correlation to the definition of
respect, a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities,

  • 2. My Experience At University Of Melbourne I have been a student at University of Melbourne for 4 semesters, and over the commerce course of my study I have developed and grown more than I thought possible. Business Case Analysis has not only given me great experience, but also helped me boost my skills and knowledge through the semester through interactive learning and teamwork. In this course, I have learned how to approach a problem, particularly in business sector, while also professionally maintaining collaborative work in teams. This reflection will firstly analyse my experience in solving cases, and as I go along, I recognized my strengths and weaknesses from my team members and myself. After that, I will discuss my skills that have developed during the course and its impact to my future career as business practitioner. At the end of the reflection, further improvement of the course will be considered. I remember the first and second class, the feeling of being hit with the harsh and abrupt reality that I need to work absolutely hard this semester. But at that time, I was not afraid. Instead, I feel challenged and enthusiastic for what I need to overcome in this subject. I read several cases from international casecompetition and compare the best solutions from the winner of that competition, with an intention to be more prepared for the first case. For the first case, our group faced a difficult challenge in identifying the strategy to unfold the issue of death spiral for Vector Limited. The energy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Should Legal System Be Used To Resolve Purposeful Misconduct The legal system should be used to resolve purposeful misconduct; instead frivolous lawsuits have affected every aspect of our society because individuals with legitimate grievances have been trivialized to a get rich quick mentality that is permeating American society. There was a time if someone spilled coffee on their lap or tripped on a raised sidewalk, they called themselves clumsy, but today they call an attorney. Attorneys have created the mindset that anyone can win the legal lottery by suing over situations that could have been resolved by simply turning the other cheek. To turn the other cheek, is a biblical instruction to urge people to be motivated by love and to have a desire for the redemption and forgiveness of offenders in lieu of personal revenge and/or vengeance. It was also not intended for people to be passive victims nor suffer in silence and refuse to seek legal protection if a person provoked another into a confrontation with a literal slap or with stinging sarcasm the person slapped should avoid retaliating by simply turning the other cheek. Legal historian William Nelson argues that no topic has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... English law in its earliest stages did not differentiate between tort and crime; when one person harmed another, the remedy was known as a feud and the object was to cause an equivalent harm to the wrongdoer. After the Norman conquest of England in 1066, William the Conqueror brought Norman law that was heavily influenced by Roman law, to intermingle with Anglo Saxon and Celtic legal traditions. The sun produces electromagnetic radiation of all wavelengths, with the visible spectrum being the most intense wavelength range produced as the radiation peaks at this area of the EM spectrum. The Earth s atmosphere absorbs most of this radiation but light and radio waves are able to penetrate the atmosphere, as well as short wavelength infrared rays and long wavelength microwaves. X rays and gamma rays are absorbed by the Earth s upper atmosphere. Solar wind is a continuous stream of charged particles protons and electrons with some atomic nuclei. Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, believed the idea that the Earth was fixed at the centre of the Universe and that the other planets were embedded in a series of concentric crystalline spheres surrounding the Earth. He proposed that 56 different crystalline spheres rotated about the Earth at different rates. Each planet, the Sun, and the moon were in their own sphere surrounding the Earth, and the stars were placed on the largest sphere surrounding everything else. About two centuries after Aristotle, Hipparchus showed that the model better predicted the motion of the heavens if the Earth was placed slightly off the centre of rotation of the celestial spheres. Apollonius also proposed that the planets changed their speed through the heavens and sometimes stopped and travelled backwards. This particular model of the universe mainly evolved around Aristotle s observational evidence of the time in which he lived, which supported the idea demonstrated in the model. In this theory, the motion of things naturally moves to the centre of the Earth and the only way to separate from it was to have a force applied to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Power Circuits Of Electric Power CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Research Background Power electronics circuits convert electric power from one form to other using electronic devices. By using semiconductor devices as switches power electronics circuits function, thereby controlling or modifying a voltage or current. Power electronics application range from high power conversion equipment such as dc power transmission to everyday appliances, such as cell phone chargers, cordless screwdrivers, power supplies for computers, and hybrid automobiles. Power electronics includes applications in which circuits process miliwatts or megawatts. Power electronics include conversion of an unregulated dc voltage to a regulated dc voltage conversion of ac to dc, conversion of dc to ac, and conversion of an ac power source from one amplitude and frequency to another amplitude and frequency. These power converters are classified as rectifiers, AC voltage controllers, DC choppers and inverters, which covers wide area of residential, commercial and industrial applications, including computers, transportation and power utilizes [1]. Power electronic converters, especially DC/AC inverters have been extending their range of use in industrial application because they provide better system efficiency, reduced energy consumption and improved quality of power. The output voltage of inverter could be fixed or variable at a fixed or variable frequency and output waveforms are therefore made up of discrete values, producing fast transition ... The Worst Sort Of Husband By Daniel Defoe The Worst Sort of Husband Daniel Defoe The Worst Sort of Husband by Daniel Defoe was written to explain the different types of husbands women deal with and their personalities. This analysis goes in depth on how diverse husbands can be. There are five different husbands described in the analysis: the Drunken Husband, the Debauched Husband, the Fighting Husband, and the Extravagant Husband. Each husband described was a male s point of view of men for a sober woman s knowledge on who she wants to marry. The author, Daniel Defoe was an English writer that lived in the 1700s. Daniel Defoe did not always have this name because he changed his name to something that he personally thought was professional. Defoe wanted his name to sound more like a gentleman s name and that is the name he chose. Defoe was a very famous writer in the 1700s in London, England and was acknowledged by all his written work. • 12. Raising Medical Malpractice The rising price of health care and the amount of medical malpractice claims being filed sparked a start to this controversial topic. The average price of medical care has gone up roughly 20 percent between the late 80s and the early 2000s (The risk authority, 2014). And the amount of medical malpractice claims in the same twenty years has arisen from one person filing a claim to five people filing the same claim, in a small ratio (Doyle, n.d.). The rising cost of medical expenses is feeding off of the increase in the amount of these cases filed every year. There are other reasons for the medical cost to rise such as the new expensive treatments and medications. But these new innovations are also raising the amount medical malpractice... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As medical innovations advance throughout time, the quality of medicine and care is increasing along with the costs of health care because of the amount of medical malpractice suits filed. And each with their increasingly steep, positive association, rising quickly, feed off of each other giving a negative impact on the people needing this care. According to National Health Expenditures, in the year 2016 health care spending sky rocked increasing by 4.3 percent, this is an average of more than $10,000 per person and as a whole $3.3 trillion in the U.S. (Joyce, 2016). These increasing prices gives horrible news for the majority of U.S. citizens, the average of more than $10,000 per person can be detrimental to anyone. People just don t have this kind of money to drop on health care. The average income for one person is just over $80,000. This means that for the family of four (two parents, two children), this amount of money is a quarter of their income before taxes, food, and other necessities. The non conquencidental cause of the rise in the price of health care is the increasing amount of medical malpractice claims. A graph from The Risk Authority Medical Malpractice Trend Review states that, for a large case between the late 1980s and the early 2000s the amount of cases rose roughly 20 percent, this means that for every one person in the late 1980s that filed a claim, in the early 2000s five people filed a medical malpractice claim (Doyle, n.d.). The increasing amount of medical malpractice claims is rising the price of health care for everyone. This is because the doctors have to pay for these cases, and they are paying for them out of pocket, even if it is found to not be medical malpractice, they still have to pay for the court fees out of pocket. To make up for the court fees and payouts, they raise their costs. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, it wasn t until the day I turned thirteen that it became evident that something more than bad luck was behind my misfortune; maybe the Ides of Marchhas been the root of my birthday curse all along. In January 2015, I auditioned for the school play: Hairspray. Although I ve never considered myself musically talented, somehow, I recieved the role I requested and was ecstatic. For instance reading activates the visual cortex, listening the temporal lobe, writing the cerebellum, analyzing the prefrontal lobes. This is also know as whole brain learning. • 16. Gender Portrayal Of Rock Climbing Essay Introduction In this paper, I would like to examine how gender is portrayed in rock climbing. I would like to find out if genders are sexualized, objectified or shown differently. I would also like to see if there is any transgender or transsexual representation in the sport of rock climbing. Transgender is an umbrella term for a range of people who do not fit into normative constructions of sex and gender (Ravelli, Webber, 2016), and a transsexual person is someone who undergoes sex reassignment (Ravelli, Webber, 2016). I am defining gender as: social distinctions between masculinity and feminity (Ravelli, Webber, 2016). I will be looking primarily for under representation (and therefore over representation) of either gender as well as themes of hegemonic masculinity and emphasized feminity. These are the current social gender ideals to many people in Western societies that both gender should strive for. Hegemonic masculinity in sports could look like muscular, shirtless men performing difficult athletic tasks and being paid for it, because they are a professional athlete. Emphasized feminity would look like a female athlete in sparse clothing, taking part in a women s activity (for example: horrible emphasized feminity would be many photos of women only supporting climbers rather than climbing). She would be perceived as attractive to men, but not strong and respectable as an athlete or competitor. These gender influences have been placed upon infants depending on their ... His studies included determining the heats of dissociation of Cl2O and ClO2 in a calorimeter and measuring vapour pressure. • 21. Themes In The Chrysanthemums In the story The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, a woman name Elisa and her husband live in a valley closed off from the people and places around them. Elisa is a very lonely and confided person, who is unsure of her green thumb abilities. She has a garden full of Chrysanthemums which to most green thumbs are some of the hardest to care for, but Elisa dose it effortlessly. The story sets a scene of a dark and closed off area in which they live. The first paragraph says The high grey flannel fog of winter closed off the SalinasValley from the sky and from all the rest of the world. On every side, it sat like a lid on the mountains and made of the great valley a closed pot (Steinbeck 1). This hints at us how where they live might affect the confidence of Elisa. Living in an area closed off from the world around you will keep you from growing and building as a person. Elisa already is unsure of herself. Elisa s appearance shows how she never is worried about her looking her best, Her figure looked blocked and heavy in her gardening costume, a man s black hat pulled low down over her eyes, clodhopper shoes, a figured print dress almost completely covered by a big corduroy apron with four big pockets to hold the snips (Steinbeck 1). Elisa being in such a closed off environment dose not add to her social interaction. The house they live in is a farmhouse with lots of land separating one another from their neighbors. This means the contact Elisa has is just of her husband on a day to day basis. Her husband, Henry, believes she is a great green thumb. He leans over the fence to tell Elisa You got a strong new crop coming (Steinbeck 2). He goes out without her to the city to watch fights, but only jokingly asks her to come. Henry loves his wife, but when she talks about expanding her garden he never really says much back to her. For example, Elisa begins to talk about how she thinks maybe growing her garden would be a good idea and he doesn t encourage her, he just skips to talking about date night. He says, And I thought, he continued, I thought how it s Saturday afternoon, and we might go into Salinas for dinner at a restaurant, and then to a picture show to celebrate, you see (Steinbeck 3). ... Historical Context Of Paul Vi s Decree On Ecumenism Historical Context When Pope Paul VI published The Decree on Ecumenism: Unitatis Redintergratio in 1964, it signalled the Catholic Church s official entrance into the Christian ecumenical movement. Historically, the ecumenical movement began when the World Missionary Conference first convened in 1910, establishing two ecumenical organs: Life and Works, and Faith and Order (Textbook). Prior to the promulgation of Unitatis Redintergratio, the Catholic Churchs view of the ecumenical movement was defined by Paul VI s predecessors Leo XIII and Pius XI, who insisted that the Catholic Church is the only Church of Christ, therefore barring Catholics from participating in interchurch dialogue (Textbook). Chapter one concludes that members of the Catholic Church should pray and stay informed about their Protestant brethren in order to promote Christian unity (UR 4). Chapter two explains that the ecumenical unity is the concern of the whole Church, the congregation and clergy, which is manifested by the bond all Christians share with Christ (UR 5). Chapter two continues to clarify that Christian unity is dependent on the moral reformation of Catholics, to ensure its faithful live according to Church s moral teachings (UR 6). Unitatis Redingratio insists that Catholics strive for a deeper knowledge of their Christian brethren in hope that the dialogue between Christian communities can remove the obstacles hindering Christian unity (UR 7 12). Self mutilation is characterized by autoagressive behaviors without intent to die, and is not uncommonly encountered in clinical practice, with an estimated prevalence of 4.3% in general psychiatric patients. The highest incidences of self mutilation have been reported in prisoners, institutionalized teenagers with antisocial traits, and among those diagnosed with autism, schizophrenia, intellectual disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries [1]. Major self mutilation is a rare, severe manifestation of deliberate self harm that results in perpetual loss of function or capacity of an organ and constitutes a medical/surgical and psychiatric emergency[2]. Notably the act of major self mutilation usually is associated with delusions or hallucinations [3].Auto emasculation, a subtype of major self mutilation, typically manifests in the context of schizophrenia[4] , and presents a significant management challenge for both medical /surgical and psychiatric providers, in part because of the lack of clinical guidelines for pharmacological management. These people are usually from completely different families and unite together to decide to spend the rest of their lives together. But sometimes the relationship does not work out. We can witness this in Sinclair Ross s short story The Painted Door, in which Ann a farmer s wife who has cheated on her husband John, which has brought the end of Johns life and ultimately the end of their relationship. It is arguable that the reason behind Ann cheatingand bringing the end to their relationship arguably is isolation, neglection and lack of understanding, but what is the root cause of all these problems in their relationship? The answer is simple lack of communication. Thus, it is the lack of communication which has caused isolation, neglection and the lack of understanding of each other in the relationship, resulting in the failure of the relationship. One of the effects of the vicious poison of relationships known as lack of communication creates a side effect of isolation. When an electrontransitions from a higher orbital, where it is in its excited state, back down to a lower orbital where it is relaxed or in its ground state, it emits light. The emitted light is a result of the electron releasing the previously absorbed energy. It is possible to observe an electron in one state or another, however an electron never possesses the capability to be observed in between states. Transitions between states that are closer together, produce a light of lower energy transitions of a longer distance. Consuming Energy Drinks Another issue with consuming energy drinks is that their ingredient make up is not typically provided to the consumer in the form of a nutrition label (Marczinski et al. 2014). The issue with this is that the consumer really has no idea what he or she is consuming. This can be potentially dangerous in its self because this common energy blend that is present in most energy drinks can hold many types of psychoactive compounds such as caffeineand guarana which primarily affect the brain and mind (Marczinski et al. 2014). Table 2 (below) provides a detailed overview of the ingredient make up. There are many brands of energy drinks available in the world today that hold a vast array of caffeine within. These energy drinks come in a variety of many sizes as well. Energy drinks are hypothesized to hold a higher content of caffeine than any other caffeinated drink tested and will be the unhealthiest option for an energy source. The results of the experiment will be ranked in order based on the caffeine content for each drink. Through this experiment, the outcomes of consuming energy drinks such as their health effects and risks associated with consumption will be evaluated. The worst type of energy drink in the world is predicted to be the more recent energy shot. Energy shots are believed to hold more health effects and risks because it is such a small dosage that is being consumed in such a short time frame. • 41. Rip Van Winkle, By Washington Irving Rip Van Winkle The short story, Rip Van Winkle has journeyed through many years of popularity in American literature. This narrative is eloquently written by Washington Irving, a prolific nineteenth century American writer. The Author sets the story in a village near the Hudson River, along the banks of the Catskill Mountains where Great Britain once held reigns. Irving presents the reader with a story that effectively delivers an abundance of connotations representing the era of its origin. Through the use of characterization, imagery and symbolism, the reader can infer that Washington Irvingis conveying a complex theme of historical transformation in society. Rip Van Winkleis characterized as an ordinary mortal man who is married to Dame Van Winkle. She is infuriated by, his idleness, his carelessness, and the ruin he [is] bringing upon his family (Irving 32). However Rip s actions towards his family and farm are directly opposite to those of his neighbors; as stated by Irving, he [is] a great favorite among all the good wives of the village (31). Although he is favored by all the villagers who defend him, his peace is not found there, at home. Irving depicts Rip as a man who yearns for tranquility, simplicity and content. On the contrary, Dame is portrayed as a woman who is antagonizing and infuriated. Thus, the two characters can be integrated into the transformation America was going through in the late 1700 s. This on demand delivery service allows independent couriers to deliver packages faster. Amazon first established this method of delivery to offer faster deliveries to Prime members. However, it is now offering drivers the opportunity to deliver standard packets as well. Amazon s shipping segment has a strategic position of low cost and a niche market, which aligns perfectly with what Flex drivers offer the company. The potential to reduce delivery times as well as cut costs is highly likely by expanding the use of own cargo planes and Flex drivers nationwide and internationally. As of December of 2016, Amazon is operating a total of 346 global distribution infrastructures, 201 of which are located in the U.S., and 37 facilities in the making. If cargo planes could deliver to these locations and if a Flex driver delivery system is offered directly from each of these facilities, no new distribution centers would be required. Expedited delivery services could be offered within the cities that already have established Amazon infrastructures. Nonverbal body languageis generally nonverbal behaviours that can include interpersonal distance, body movement, facial behaviour, touch, vocal behaviours, and others. Face to face communication also offers the opportunity to take turns when speaking and in turn create a sequence whereas with electronic communications, such as emails or texts, the conversation can be broken up by irrelevant interruptions and do not have the same effect. However Clark Brennan, (1990) did look at how electronic communication can also be a more effective form of communication. For example with emails and texts information will always be there and can be later reviewed by other people in case there needs to be editing of information before sending. Face to face communication can possibly be irreplaceable as well. Hallowell, (1999) looked at how face to face communication is essential for human movement, an authentic psychological encounter that occurs when two people share the same physical space as well as emotional and intellectual attention. My ideas on the text before compared to my thoughts after the oral were greatly different. One of the major talking points of the interactive oral was the how the author voiced his own personal thoughts. Most works of literature convey some of the author s personal thoughts and interests however in this novel Mishima conveys a sense of despair as too the state of Japan after their defeat in World War Two. In the oral we collectively as a group discussed that Mishima despised what Japan had become and how this was conveyed in the text. This westernisation of Japan was represented in the novel by the character of Ryuji Tsukazaki who after beginning the story as an honourable sailor one of the only true things permissible according to the group of savage boys become nothing but a glorified house maid. The young boy, Noburu, reflects Mishima s personal views on the subject by demonstrating the old code of bushido when he says how can this man be saying things like that this splendid hero who once shone so brightly? .
