2. Madonna and Venus from Two Different Periods Essay
Madonna and Venus From Two Different Periods I have always been intrigued by
the many depictions of Madonna and Venus therefore I chose to compare and
contrast Parmigianino s Madonna of the Long Neck from the mannerist style of the
later Renaissance and Titian s Venus of Urbinofrom Venetian Renaissance. First I will
tell you a little bit about the historical background of both paintings, then I will prove
my thesis by talking about exemplifies two artist s style and the movement it
represents, and considering the differences between two artwork in artistic styles,
subject matter, and formal approaches.
First, Madonna of the Long Neck was created at the Mannerist period in 1535 by
Parmigianino sized 7 x 4 . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When looking at Madonna with the Long Neck, the colors are subdued and dull but
his use of color with the High Renaissance formula the primary colors. In terms of
mannerism, elongation was thought to create a more elegant and graceful look,
which may be one of the main reasons why Mannerist art contained a lot of
unnatural looking human figures. In the painting, I see a lot of elongation being
used in different areas as well as oddly proportioned bodies. Madonna herself has a
very extended neck, which holds up her smaller sized head making her look
unusual and abnormal. Below her neck, I see her unnaturally slanted shoulders
and her elongated fingers resting on her chest. Her legs also appear to be very
long as they look much bigger than her narrow upper body. This makes for
Madonna being a very colossal and dominant figure. Furthermore, when comparing
Madonna to the women who stand beside her, Madonna is huge. In Madonna s lap
is her baby Christ who also has unnaturally long features. The body of baby Christ
is so long especially his legs. It looks like a much older boy. I think Pontormo
wanted the audience to focus more on the bodies and the drama, rather than the
specific details.
In Venus of Urbino, Titian formed a good composition that balances somewhat the
delicate static character of the reclining Venus with a consistent dynamic component.
The painting

5. The Concept Of Excessive Cost Of Borrowing Money
The concept of excessive cost of borrowing money dates back to the earliest accord
of Barter . It was a common practice amongst the ancient civilizations to charge a
crude amount of excessive cost in their everyday borrowings. According to Andrew
Beattie, in his work on the history of money; from barter to cash notes to now
bitcoins , ancient civilizations predating to around 500BC and pre Biblical times
religion and cultures have from time to time defined the concept of the Interest,
omnibus to both the interest and usury.

The caravans and the trading activities made the Quresh tribe who were one of the
controllers or the influential tribe to collect trading tax and permit transactions within
the realm of the Mekkah city. Thus Mekkah city was a hub of trading and transactions
of various commodities prominent including carpets, carpentry, wool, jewelry and
drinks.
Thus the city and the traders also had a crude system of trading laws which allowed
for loans and the cost of borrowing of such loans. Although not documented or stated
in any written instrument, the earliest documented statement about riba in pre
Islamic time also widely known as the period of Jahiliyyah or the dark age or the age
of ignorance, as stated by Imam Malik:
Riba in the Jahiliyyah was that a man would have a debt on a man for a set term.
When the term was due, he would say, Will you pay it off or increase me? If the
man paid, he took it. If not, he increased him in his debt and lengthened the term for
him.
Thus it indicated the concept of Riba was though present, however there was no
preset percentage neither any fixed charge. The charge dependent heavily upon the
ability of the debtor (the one who owes money to the lender) and it can be increased
at the discretion of the lender.
Another instance is to be found in the words Ibn Jarir;
The riba of Jahiliyyah was a transaction whereby a person would sell something for a
payment to be made at a specified
6. Essay about The Public-Private Prison Debate
California is suffering from a crisis in the prison system. Its facilities are operating
at double capacity and grossly deficient medical care is the cause of at least one
inmate death per week (Wood, 2008, para. 2). Because of this need for reform, the
federal government is stepping in to direct the state prisons operating procedure.
Although the financial choices of each state should be free from federal control, the
federal governmentis still known to put pressure on states to make decisions,
especially when lawsuits arise. An example of federal legislation commanding state
behavior is busing. The states felt that they should have the autonomy to decide
whether racial integration was right for them. The federal government,... Show more

Because of this fiscal pressure, governments are looking for alternatives to the public
prison system. The predominant idea for reformation is privatization of prisons.
Journals abound with responses to this idea including Ph.D. Gaes s article in the
National Institute of Justice Journal, L. Beaty s article in The Case Journal, and R.
Culp s article in the Criminal Justice Policy Review. In Gaes s article, his problem
with the decision to transfer prisons into private hands is the lack of concrete
evidence whether the concept is actually a means of savings or not. His point is that
the studies that have been done bear completely different results, causing a
discrepancy about actual savings. His example illustrates two different studies, one
conducted by the Abt and another by the BOP. The Abt used actual figures from a
public prison that was much smaller than the private prison in question. In doing so,
the numbers were slanted towards favoring the privatization of prisons, as they were
able to save more money per inmate by doing business on a larger scale. The BOP
study, on the other hand, estimated what expenditures would have existed for
identically sized prisons, making the comparison more realistic (2008, para. 2). His
final conclusion is that further studies are necessary to determine whether the
proponents of privatization are fundamentally correct in their

On February 25, 2016, I was able to see the Mid Year Band Concert in the PAC.
The pieces I have chosen to review were performed by the Varsity, Symphonic II
and Symphonic I Bands and conducted by Mr. Bailey and Mr. Hillhouse. King
Cotton, Amparito Roca, and Valdres were among my favorites in the program and
are all coincidentally, marches. To start with, the Varsity Band performed a royal
march called King Cotton by Karl King. It reminded me of a Sousa type piece due to
the recurring melody and march style. As the piece began, the band played tutti but
had a mediocre balance due to the woodwind instruments, particularly the clarinets,
standing out from the others. Their reedy timbre and higher pitch than the rest of the

Hillhouse. It was a Norwegian march named Valdres by Robert Jaeger. The piece
begins with the trumpets and snare drum with a mezzo piano dynamic. The trumpet
repeats the same legato phrase of what seems to be eighth note, dotted quarter, eighth
note, eighth note, eighth note then a whole note. Each time this was played by the
brass instrument, it ascended by a half step. I personally liked this rhythm because it
felt slower and more relaxed than the previous marches. Shortly after, the clarinets
join in and layered the trumpet and snare. These woodwinds added a airy timbre to
the slower piece and therefore, the dynamics changed from lento to vivace. Soon,
all woodwinds, brass and percussion joined into the repeating melody adding a
fuller feeling to the march. Shortly, the band crescendoed into a short rest. Then,
the french horns to play piano, giving a darker tone and a brassy timbre. During
this, a trumpet played a short fanfare that was very well played with use of quieter,
legato dynamics to resemble the rest of the brass but still be more prominent with
an unequal balance. The trumpet also had a pattern of an ascending then
descending scale. Together the brass reminded me of the fullness and darkness of a
serene forest or peaceful voyage. Perhaps resembling a sail through a fjord due to the
march being Norwegian. A clarinet follows the trumpet s solo in the same rhythmic
fashion and then the band plays tutti. The piece then repeats back to the very
beginning at mezzo piano with the trumpets. The piece then closes as it did before
the break into a different

Introduction
The purpose of the experiment is to determine the enthalpy of neutralization reactions
by calorimetry. Calorimetry, is the science of measuring the amount of heat. All
calorimetric techniques are therefore based on the measurement of heat that may be
generated (exothermic process) or consumed (endothermic process). The device used
for measuring the heat changes in this experiment is called calorimeter. A calorimeter
is a Styrofoam cup is used as a calorimeter, because it is a container with good

Introduction With the events that happened on September 11, 2001, the American
people and all government leadership realized that the U.S. was fight a whole new

1993 World Trade Center bombings. With the tragic event of 9/11, it became
something of a nightmare because no American in history had the knowledge to deal
with this kind of attack. Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) wants nothing more

Mrs. Jones, like many older adults, is on a fixed income, has Medicare for health
coverage, but lacks prescription drug coverage. She was recently prescribed a new
medication by her physician, which she cannot afford. As Mrs. Jones nurse, it is
my responsibility to advocate for her by providing education and sharing
information on the multiple different avenues available to decrease the cost of the
medication prescribed. I will identify three strategies in which I can help Mrs.
Jones afford her medication. First, I will provide education on her insurance plan
and explain Medicare Drug Plans and their enrollment process. Secondly, I will
identify a financial assistance program which she might qualify for. Finally, I will
identify different ways to lower the cost of the medication such as coupons, drug
discount cards, switching to a generic medication, and store programs ( Prescription
Drug, 2014). All of these options are a solution to Mrs. Jones problem. In the
meantime, it may be beneficial to obtain free samples from the physician s office if
possible, but this only makes sense if there is a strong likelihood that she will
eventually be able to afford the new medication.
First, I must assess Mrs. Jones understanding of her insurance plan. Is she even
aware that she doesn t have prescription drug coverage? According to Cohen and
Villarroel (2015), approximately one fifth (18%) of the $263 billion spent on retail
prescription drugs in the United States in 2012

Objective: Present research work is carried out for rapid development of some
biological active new heterocyclic moieties. Method: A novel series of 3
substituted 1 [1 (toluene 4 sulfonyl) 1H benzoimidazol 2 yl] propen 1 one (3a 3j)
were synthesized by tosylation of benzimidazole chalcones (2a 2j) using
ultrasound in lesser time with higher yields. All the synthesized compounds were
characterized by Elemental analysis, IR spectra, 1H, 13C NMR and Mass
spectroscopy. The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their О±
glucosidases and antibacterial activity. Result: Biological evaluation of the
compounds (3a 3j) revealed that most of them are good О± glucosidases inhibitors
and possess significant antimicrobial activity compared to their respective standards.
Discussion: Amongst (3a 3j), compound 3h showed moderate inhibition of
glucoamylase and compound 3j with compelling inhibition of О± amylase.
Compound 3g and 3e displayed excellent antibacterial activity against all tested
strains and admirable antifungal activity against Candida albicans respectively.
INTRODUCTION Glycosidases play an essential role in numerous biological

These data objects can be in different data formats, such as text, image, video, audio,...
etc. The objects are ordered spatially, by linking various data objects into a single
entity with dealing object size, rotation, and placement within the entity, or
temporally, creating a multimedia object according to temporal relationship with the
requirement of the synchronization of the data objects, to create composite
multimedia objects. The synchronization can be continuous or point. Continuous,
like the video conferencing, where audio and video signals are created at a remote
site, transmitted over the network, and synchronized continuously at the receiver
site when presented, it requires constant synchronization of lengthy events. On the
other hand, in point synchronization, a single point of a media block coincides with
a single point of another media block, such as a slideshow with blocks of audio
allotted to each slide. Multimedia data is often classified according to if it is non
temporal or temporal. Non temporal data is often called static, such as text, images
and graphics, and temporal data is called dynamic, like audio, video and animation. A
multimedia object can consist of both static and dynamic data objects. An example of
this would be a document describing the weather, with text and a video on the
movement of clouds in the area. Dynamic data divides into two subgroups: Non
changing dynamic data, non real time audio, video, animation, and

This study does not conclusively establish a positive correlation between high
testosterone and anti social behavior. The researchers concluded from a correlational
study that a causal relationship exists, yet that assumption is faulty. Causality cannot

there is still merit to this data if high testosteroneis said to not play a predisposing
role to aggressiveness. For example, a third variable, physical activity, tends to
increase testosterone. Therefore, actors and NFL players who are more physically
active than ministers, should have higher levels of testosterone; which does not imply
high testosterone leads individuals to choose more anti social and aggressive

Writers often use literature as a means of communicating traumatic events that occur
in history, and such events are recorded by first hand accounts as well as remembered

readily found in literature are The Irish Potato Famine and The Holocaust. A literary
medium that has been used quite poignantly to convey trauma is poetry and the
poetry from these two historical traumatic events is not difficult to find. Some wrote

The author also benefits from writing about the trauma; a need to express what has
happened, is quenched. It is shown that the literature of trauma is written from the
need to tell and retell the story of the traumatic experience, to make it real both to
the victim and to the community...[as well as] serving both as a validation and
cathartic vehicle for the traumatized author (Tal 21). The story is larger than the
words of the author. His or her life has been permanently altered by trauma, and by
acknowledging it in the realm of reality, readers can take part in the trauma.
In both of the historical events above, a great many people faced trauma, pain,

20. Postcolonial Piercings In Modern Day America
In modern day America, it is common to see people with facial piercings and body
modifications; of these piercings, one of the most common and striking is the lip
piercing. This can consist of a barbell, hoop, spiral, or other types of rings. They
are placed in the sides or center of both the upper and lower lips; multiple piercings
side by side can even be connected with the spiral rings. But in Africa, these lip
rings are nothing in comparison to the lip plates found in many of the women of
various tribes. While I had heard of lip plating before, I had never seen what they
looked like, let alone saw the process. A four minute, thirty two second long video
changed my opinion of the words lip plating by showing how the plates are placed,
the pain they cause, and what happens when a girl chooses to refuse the plate in
the Mursi tribe. When hearing the term lip plating , I had never really thought
about how the procedure was done. I had assumed it was like ear stamping: a
circular chunk of flesh being removed all at once, and the jewelry being placed in to
hold it open. Rather, it is much more similar to how people... Show more content on

They know they will not be wed or accepted by their families if they choose not to
have a clay plate up to twenty centimeters shoved in their lower lips. Physically, the
pain is traumatic and results in a high risk of infection through dirty tools and
hands, as well as limited medical care. Eating and drinking become challenging
because their mouths are always open and the teeth exposed. On an emotional
level, these women feel inadequate until they have a large plate in their lips in
order to receive a large dowry and be wed. At the same time, they will be outcast by
other tribes, and have to endure a great deal of pain over the traditional
21. Meade s Three Premises Of Symbolic Interactionism
Emerging out of the Chicago School in the 1920, symbolic interactionism is a theory
that looks at the concrete daily life of individuals and how these individuals shape
society as opposed to society being imposed upon them; a direct counter argument to
positivism. The major focus of symbolic interactionism in on the subjective meanings
that individuals assign to objects, events, and behaviors. Based on this, society is said
to be created as a result of human interpretation.
In his first book, Mind, Self, and Society (1934), George Herbert Meade, the principal
founder of symbolic interactionism, established the self as a social being. One of
Meade s basic premises is that an individual possesses two parts of a self; The I and
the me. The I is the active being and the me is when the individual reflects on how
he/she is viewed through the eyes of others (Carter, 2011). Following Meade was
Herbert Blumer who posited three premises: individual action is based on the
meanings people have for things, these meanings are derived from social interactions
with others, and each individual uses a process of interpretation to assign meaning to
things and events (Carter, 2011). Primarily, through actions and reactions, a cyclical
pattern emerges that social reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

performance is framed by the scene and other actors within it (Goffman

Experimental Setup
Preprocessing Data
Preprocessing is actually a trail to improve text classification by removing worthiness
information. In our work document preprocessing involve removing punctuation
marks, numbers, words written in another language, normalize the documents by
(replace the letter ( ШЈ ШҐ Шў ) with (Ш§ ), replace the letter (ШЎ Ш¤ ) with (
Ш§), and replace the letter( Щ‰ ) with ( Ш§). Finally removing the stop words,
which are words that can be found in any text like prepositions and pronouns. The
rest of words are returned and are referred to as keywords or features. The number of
these features is usually large for large documents and therefore some filtering can be
applied to these features to reduce their number and remove redundant features.
Features Extraction
Text is categorized by two types of features, external and internal. External features
are not related to the content of the text, such as author name, publication date, author
gender, and so on. Internal features reflect the text content and are mostly linguistic
features, such as lexical items and grammatical categories[www]. In our work,
words were treated as a feature on three levels: using a bag of words form, word stem
, in which the suffix and prefix were removed and word root. With all these features
we need to extract and generates the frequency list of the dataset features (single
words) and save it in a training file.

Core competencies
Core competencies are the capabilities that are critical to a business achieving
competitive advantage. The starting point for analysing core competencies is
recognising that competition between businesses is as much a race for competence
mastery as it is for market position and market power. (Prahalad and Hamel)
There are three analysis, which should be applied when identifying and developing
core competence of Vodafone:
The core competence should:

Boyle, D., Boyle, J and Carpenter (2014) research titled The SEC s Renewed
Focus on Accounting Fraud about the SEC initiative on accounting fraud detection
and misleading disclosure by implementing the Accounting Quality Model (AQM)
using the Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) (p.68). Boyle et al.
mentioned Craig M Lewis, director and chief economist of the SECs Division of
Economic and Risk Analysis, described AQM as a highly technical robust tool on
detecting fraud and other accounting anomalies, while others called it Robocop as
the use of XBRL tags is capable of computerized analysis and enhanced access to
financial data by the stakeholders, the public and the SEC staff (pp.68 69). Boyle et

financial filings, processed it and keeps it in the database and enable open access of
the financial data within 24 hours after being posted on the Electronic Data
Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) System. Boyle et al. summarized that
accounting fraud and improper disclosures are evident in SEC s renewed focus on
its resources through the technology based tool AQM as key component, while the
SEC Financial Reporting and Audit Task Force initiatives focus on exploring and
identifying areas vulnerable to fraudulent activities by increased emphasis on
financial reporting fraud detection and disclosure irregularities (p.69). Boyle et al.

The Hundred Days , was a time period which took place during the first three
months of Roosevelt s presidency. During this time period, FDR was determined to
restore the American economy, therefore, he passed numerous laws as soon as he
became president. He convinced Congress to establish many new famous agencies
such as the AAA and the CCC. The significance of these new laws and agencies is
that this is the first time a president used his presidential power this quickly or helped
the federal government impact each American citizen s life to this extent. While
some people complained about some changes, most American citizens understood
that Roosevelt was taking the direct, vigorous action that he had promised in his
previous inaugural address.

the college program. The research was conducted at Abilene Christian University,
utilizing two groups, Strictly athletes and non athletes. A qualitative survey
questionnaire method was used to have a fair idea about how people feel about the
situation. INTRODUCTION There are numerous of myths that are going around in
society about the comparison of athletes and non athletes. Some say that non
athletes has a advantage over athletes, mainly because they may have a more less
demanding schedule and are not entitled to spend many hours training rigorously or
leaving almost every week to go away on sporting events. Also many say that
athletes have an advantage because of pass researches that was done, with athletes
and their performance in their academics; they mentioned that athletes are able to
function well based on what they are taught as a sports person. Another
disadvantage, they are claiming, is that athletes get their books and tuition fully
covered. They also have a free support staff to make sure that they excel, which
includes tutors, advisers for time management and also to make sure that you are put

years. Additionally, the aging workforce issue is more dominant in pubic
organizations than private administrations because public organizations have to

Through perseverance, dedication, and patience, isolated people can immediately

with communicating. This has been proven throughout the ages and in my family as
well. Whether you are the extreme loner at your school, or a jobless person willing
to sacrifice anything to receive a job, you can become intrepid conquering your
isolation issues. In my family, my mother used to be extremely shy among others
when she was in high school. She had a few friends, and, in addition to that, had
some case of social anxiety. Often ignored by others, she refused to give up.
Throughout time, she improved immensely and now has a multitudinous amount of
friends. Also, she currently has no social anxiety due to her conquering her fears of
social rejection. My mother now owns a successful business as a result of this
beneficial change. You can always change no matter what. All you need to do is act
efficiently and face your fears. You can help face your fears by taking extracurricular
activities such as band, choir, academic teams, volunteering, etc. Even Albert Einstein
played an instrument, the violin, while conducting his research on the relationship
between energy and mass. By having extracurricular activities, you can easily
communicate with others as extracurricular activities mostly require you to

I knew he considered Joel lucky to no longer be part of the cane life, travay te pou
zo, the farming of bones. Amabelle, The Farming of Bones After reading The
Farming of Bones by Edwidge Danticat, I have concluded that there is a single
underlying theme of the novel. This theme is the exploration of racial prejudice
,and a closer look into the inequality and discrimination against people of color.
Though it seems to be quite broad, it can be broken down into two more specific
themes. One of which is the smothering of a culture, and the other is physical
violence towards those of color. In The Farming of Bones, these themes apply to the
Haitian people in the 1930 s Dominican Republic. The story is presented by a Haitian
worker named Amabelle, who shares firsthand her experience with both themes.

No details are spared in the gory account of the violence. It begins with rumors, and
when these statements prove to be true, everything becomes twisted. Haitian
citizens try to run, but most are forced into trucks to head to prison, and ultimately,
death. Those who survive are permanently affected, both mentally and physically.
When it comes to the tolerance of the violence, the rules are modified to fit the
actions that need to be done. This is especially so when the person in charge is of
high rank or power. The Generalissimo tries to rationalize his actions by saying,
How can a country be ours if we are in smaller numbers than the outsiders? Those
of us who love out country are taking measures to keep it our own (Danticat, 192) .
Today, this is still true. It seems that no one is ever punished for a wrongful act
when they hold a place of power, though they should be treated just as everyone else

1.Purpose of potassium within the plant
To begin the process, potassium is a vital nutrient to productively grow many plants,
although potassium isn t an active ingredient of the chemical structure it still plays
several significantly high roles in the development. There are several roles potassium
does such as enzyme activation, photosynthesis, stomatal activity, transportation of
sugars, water and nutrient transportation, starch synthesis, and improving the quality
of the desired crop.

The amount of potassium lost at harvest will vary from each crop type, moisture
available, and plenty other variables assuring minimum losses. With this being said,
these losses are higher with crops such as: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

production has to pay for the fertilizer and the costs associated with it. This is why
as a producer, one must make informed decisions before spending those input dollars
to assure the maximum potential of a crop to essentially get out what one puts in.
6.Potassium Shortage signs
Symptoms of potassium deficiency are signs such as cholris, which is scorching of
plant leaves, causing yellowing of the margins of the plants leaves and this is the
first symptoms of potassium deficiency. Slow or stunted growth, for potassium is a
very important part of the growth catalyst in plants. Poor resistance to temperature
changes and also to drought, for poor intake will cause less circulation in the plant,
this is the reasoning behind the plant being more susceptible to drought and
temperature changes. Defoliation causes plants to lose their leaves sooner than they
should and this will increase if the plant is exposed to drought or high temperatures.
This all causes the leaves to turn yellow, then brown and eventually fall off one by
one. Some other symptoms will include poor resistance of pests, weak and unhealthy
roots, and uneven ripening of

In the Old Testament, Abraham and Moses were two very prominent leaders chosen
by God to do his will. Throughout Genesis and Exodus, both men play important
roles in fulfilling God s will. They are put to many tests, given covenants, and
communicate constantly with God. Although they have many similarities such as
being leaders and men of God, there are also many differences between the two.
In terms of leadership, Abraham was a noble leader. Although he grew up in a
camp where the notion of one God was not accepted, he eventually manages to
become the leader of a tribe and make the people believe in his faith. He leads them
around endlessly from Ur to Canaan, to Egypt, then back to Canaan. His tribe

does it though prayer. When he asked God about the wicked city of Sodom, he did it

37. Paragraph On Holiness Of God
Holiness
The word holy, holy, holy, shows up twice in the Old Testament Isaiah 6:3 and once
in the New Testament Revelation 4: 8. These phrase in both time is spoken about a
heavenly creatures and both times it shows up in a vision of a man was transported
to God s throne. Firstly by prophet Isaiah and secondly by apostle John. (The Bible
says that God is holy, holy , holy. Not that He is merely holy or even holy, holy. Page

The holiness of God is very difficult attribute of God to explain. This important
quality is not shared inborn by man. God created us in His image we can share
from his qualities to a much lesser extent like His faithfulness, love and mercy, etc.
Some of His qualities such as omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience cannot be
share with any beings. We can t inherent Holinesses it comes through our
relationship with God. We can only become righteous through God. Holiness is
the fundamental measure in God s life and letting his life flow through us. In other
for us to get the glorious divine calling in Christ, God s people are slowly prepared
along the way. This pattern is often occurring in our lives this is a need for us to
separate from our sins and turn towards the way of God.
Isaiah experienced the holiness of God in his vision in Isaiah 6. Isaiah was righteous
man and a prophet of God, his response to the holiness of God was to be ware his
despair of life and his sinfulness
38. The Social Institution Of Education
Education is perceived by society as a means to achieve high levels of success in all
aspects of life. Although steps have been taken to afford individuals the opportunity
to obtain an education, there still lies an inequality and therefore, a social problem is
created. Using the sociological perspectives of functionalist, conflict, feminist, and
interactionist, we can see how each perspective views how this inequality becomes
prevalent and how social, as well as economic inequalities of society are inherited
through education. Functionalist define a social problem by looking for the functions
and dysfunctions of a given topic. The main function of the social institution of
education is to educate. Functionalists argue that education struggles to complete it s
intended task of education the youth due to the additional tasks that the institution
has been assigned. The educational system has taken on roles that normally would be
the functions of other social institutions. The education system provides services to
students and parents for various problems that they may have. It provides services
for students who my have emotional needs, physical challenges, as well as provide
classes for parents.
Conflict theorists view education as a divider, rather than an equalizer. Conflict
theorists focus on social and economic inequalities inherent in our educational
system. They also focus on how the system perpetuates these inequalities. Depending
on their social backgrounds,

This fantasy is proven to be that if we work hard enough we ll make enough

partner and we will ultimately be happy. This notion is also similar with the addition

44. Analysis Of The Book The Crucible By Dawson Cole And...
In small town of Oriental, Dawson Cole and Amanda Collier become the high school
sweethearts that everyone wanted to be, but no one, including their parents wanted
them to be be together. It was bad for the reputation of the family. After several years
the finally meet again and the rekindle, or tried to, that old spark that used to be
there. Who knew that death could bring a couple back together.
PAGE 18 19
I think this part is important because this is where their lives changed forever.
Amanda got into her dream college and her parents would disown her because she
is dating Dawson. This wouldn t be so bad, but Dawson is a Cole, the bad family
in town, they always causes trouble, but Dawson never did. Amanda is a Collier,
which is one of the more upper class families in town, and like all small towns new
travels fast and this new could ruin the reputation of the two families, mostly
Amanda s, no one wants to ruin the last name. Dawson wants the world for Amanda
and he knew he couldn t give that to her and still be in a relationship with her, he
would only bring her down. During this scene one of my favourite quotes were said;
Dawson: If you love someone you re suppose to let them go, right?
Amanda: And if they come back it is meant to be? Is that what you think this is?
Some sort of cliche?
That little encounter is important because after that she went away for college and
made a new life for herself, trying to forgot the one person she will ever truly love
45. History On The Origin Of State Charters Essay
Brief History on the Origin of State Charters in California
California has followed the steps of many American states by committing its efforts
on ensuring educational developments through improved governance systems. In the
last half a decade or so, there have emerged diverse levels of studies in California
State majorly because of three reasons which include several legislative practices,
institutions, and participation of state agencies. The California Educational
Commission was created as early as 1899 with a number of 70 members to study the
state s educational program with an effort of improving it. Of much interest was the
recommendation that legislation had to be twisted to form a uniform board for the
governing of normal colleges and universities in California. This issue resulted in the
formulation of a law that placed the normal colleges and universities in California
under the State Board of Education.
A legislation in the year 1992 found it necessary to have schools and authorized
their creation. The legislation also came up with requirements for appeal signature
and as a result a county appeals process was created and whose charter renewal
came after every five years. The legislation also made clear the grounds for which the
charters could be considered null and void. The flexibility of the legislation allowed
there to be an amendment in 1998, which brought about a change in the requirements
for petition signature and gave the mandate of revoking any charter to
46. What Helped Groupon Grow From The 400 Subscribers
What helped Groupon grow from the 400 subscribers in 2008 to the 60 million it
has today has been largely due to the company s ways of understanding their
customer s behavior. One of the main reasons they were able to grow in the way
they did, was due to Andrew Masons understanding of the current social trends. By
doing so Groupon was able to utilize the rapid growth of the Internet and technology
such as mobile applications, reaching out to their customers in a quick and simple
way, solving the problem of connecting with local consumers.
With an app like Groupon or Groupon Now , the company does large parts of the
problem recognition, for the consumer. With newsletters and daily deals the customer
is constantly fed with information to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The brilliance of the concept is that while engaging the consumers to stay on their
friends and family about the deals, they are simultaneously advertising the app and
concept. Groupon is basically acting as a bridge of communication between the
buyer and the seller, as the consumers may be unaware of the seller s very existence.
Another thing leading to the success of the Groupon concept was the Groupon
Promise . As the promise acts as insurance, this allows for consumers to be more
impulsive in their spending when participating in deals and discounts. It makes the
customer feel secure, knowing that Groupon is confident enough in their product to
take the risk for them, providing them only the best, or they will get refunded.
In conclusion, the understanding of consumer behavior mixed with the growing
social trends of technology was a crucial part in the growth of Groupon in 2008. By
being able to understand consumers and the target market, Groupon were able to
affect the wants of their customers and help start their process of the purchase
decision using daily deals, providing them with warranties such as the Groupon
Promise and discounted prices.
2.What is the Groupon Promise? How does the Groupon Promise affect a consumer s
perceived risk and cognitive dissonance?
The Groupon Promise states that, any customer can return a

Blanche Dubois Former high school English teacher; Running from reality; Lost
everything; Moves to New Orleans to live with Stella and Stanley
The play begins with Blanche moving to New Orleans, later revealing that she had
lost everything to do with her previous life. BlancheВґs complexity stems from the
difference in the life she leads and the one she wishes to have. She lives a
romanticised life in a world Williams dedicated to realism. She does her best to hide
her age and insecurities through alcohol and bathing, only to come off as skittish and
trapped by what haunts her. Blanche spends the majority of the play romanticizing
that a man will come and sweep her away, whereas her surrounding characters see
this as her naivety.
Stella Kowalski Blanche s younger sister; Wife of Stanley; Dismissive of reality
Stanley Kowalski Husband of Stella; Abuses his wife and her sister; WWII veteran;
Lacks imagination; Lives only in reality
Harold Mitch Mitchell Friend of Stanley from the army; Love interest of Blanche s;

Eunice Stella s friend and neighbor; Kowalski s landlord; Lives with abusive husband
Allan Grey Blanche s ex husband; Killed himself after being found in bed with an

casual overconsumption of alcohol. Most significantly Stanley and his upstairs
neighbor, who happen to also physically abuse their

A Glued Glass Menagerie. A hopelessly romantic Southern Belle , Amanda
Wingfield is said to be the most dramatic character of The Glass Menagerie.
Amanda s part in this particular play is that of an expressive mother who has been
brought into the real world by the digressing economy, and new world form. Life
as she knew it changed in a powerful way. In Tennessee William s The Glass
Menagerie, Amanda Wingfield is a caring mother who desperately tries to create a
perfect world within her not so perfect circumstances. Amanda s yearning to have a
perfect world gives way to her constant effort to create one. With her metal curlers

Amanda, like any mother, wants Laura to be happy. She goes as far as to have
Tom invite a gentleman caller over to meet Laura. When Laura says that there
would be no gentleman callers, Amanda tries to create a sense of optimism by
replying Not one gentleman caller? It can t be true! There must be a flood, there
must have been a tornado! The audience can see that Amanda is desperately trying
to keep her daughter in high hopes. In another case, Amanda also shows she cares
for Tom, her son. Though Amanda fears that he will turn out like his father, she
tries to make connections with him. I know your ambitions do not lie in the
warehouse, that like everybody in the whole wide world you ve had to make
sacrifices... There s so many things in my heart that I cannot describe to you. Even as
Amanda nags her children, she loves them unconditionally. In her attempt to create a
perfect world, she never forgets to care for her children. Amanda is a caring mother
who tries to create the perfect world among her imperfect circumstances. Sometimes
viewed as paranoid, Amanda tries to control the surroundings that she is able to. She
has not had much control of her situation, which leads to her pushy, dramatic
personality. Critics view Amanda as harsh but necessary. In the simplest terms,
Amanda is no more than a Southern Belle whose life took a turn towards reality. She
struggles to make fantasy out of
49. Bariatric Procedures
A rise in the number of gastrointestinal surgeries being performed for weight loss is
a reflection of the increase in the number of people who are morbidly obese.
According to Steinbrook (2004), gastrointestinal surgeries performed annually for
severe obesity increased from 16,000 in the early 1990s to about 103,000 in 2003 (p.
1075). Bariatric surgery, like all major surgery, carries inherent risks, but due to the
nature of the patients seeking these procedures standard risks can be compounded.
Additionally, each unique bariatric procedure has different benefits and dangers.
Generally speaking, bariatric procedures carry a high risk because the morbidly
obese are at a higher likelihood of developing complications. Steinbrook (2004)

His intention was for Alex to fit this definition. Throughout the book, there are
many horrific events that make the reader wonder how someone could be so cruel.
When Alex attempts to demonstrate authority over his droogs and show them
what ultra violence really is by relentlessly beating an old woman, causing her
death. His plan to trick the old woman into letting him use her phone backfires
when she refuses, so he finds a way into her house through an open window and
proceeds with his demonstration. Shortly after, sirens are heard and Alex goes to
find his droogs where he is met with a punch to the face and then a substance
sprayed into his eyes, leaving him helpless. Alex is forced to submit to the police s
orders and is charged with murder. This is a turning point in A Clockwork Orange
because Alex finally gets a taste of his own medicine. He has to deal with daily
abuse from the police for two years and it is apparent that Alex is still unable to
change his evil ways until he volunteers to take part in the government s new
behavior experiment to speed up his sentence. Alex s ethical transformation is seen
in the twenty first chapter where he finally grows up and realizes that there s more to
life than violence (Davis and Womack). The violence in this novel is not just
distasteful, but also has a comedic effect. Throughout A Clockwork Orange, Burgess
invokes the conventions of slapstick in order to challenge the
51. Importance And Importance Of Marketing Plan
Importance of Marketing Plans: An Introduction Marketing plans are critical to the
success of any business organization as they help achieve company goals by
providing guidance, instruction, and structure to an organization. Effective marketing
plans are crucial to the success of all companies large and small. Marketingplans, may
look different depending on the size and scope of the organization, but no matter their
appearance they serve an important role in achieving and maintaining organizational
goals. A well written marketing planprovides focus and direction for the company and
its employees. It organizes valuable information about the product and target markets.
An effective plan transforms the marketing strategy into calculated procedures to
achieve company objectives. Without a marketing plan confusion can ensue because
information is not properly relayed and there is little consistency.

metrics to demonstrate value and so a plan that tracks and measures value is
indispensable. A marketing plan focuses resources towards customer centered goals
and helps with future decision making, which can reference the plan for guidance. A
well developed marketing plan can even serve a blueprint for the business since it
will cover sales, support, product, financing, branding, and vision. A successful
department will use the marketing plan in the future to build upon and adjust to

My desire to pursue knowledge in neuroscience began rather spontaneously by
reading a book about Phineas Gage, a man who was pierced through the head by
an iron rod in a freak construction accident. While he miraculously survived, the
drastic change in his personality was a mystery I was curious to learn more about.
I took to watching YouTube videos filled with theories of how personalities and
habits can be affected by just minor changes in synapses. My interest in
neuroscience and psychology gradually developed to analyzing disorders and
diseases relating to the brain. Volunteering gave me an additional perspective on the
social side of disorders such as autism, thereby ushering me away from the words in
a textbook and into real life. Playing with autistic children and being able to interact
with them motivated me to spread awareness of mental disorders to prevent those
with mental disorders from being judged or attacked for being different. At Johns
Hopkins, I seek to work with the community to educate people on mental disorders to
prevent misunderstandings and judgment. As I believe that this knowledge can be
instilled in children from a young age, the practicums in the Neuroscience
Department at Hopkins serves to my interests. I hope to participate and help younger

manufactures the specialty products, has reformulated its corporate strategy. As a
result, its manufacturing strategy should also be revised.
In the past, APD has manufactured custom products in low volume for its customers.
The division plans to gradually add higher volume products for multiple customers.
As a result, changes will be needed in manufacturing to effectively compete in the

3.Work force. Changes in the work force will follow changes in equipment. The
direct production work force will become less highly skilled and less well paid.
There will be fewer people in the work force due to automation. As cost control
becomes more important, there will be more emphasis on production standards and
labor reporting. The work force will also probably become more alienated and
dissatisfied with their work, unless management takes positive steps to prevent these
attitudes from developing.
4.Capacity, Scheduling and Production and Inventory Control. There will be a
gradual change in stocking policy until more raw materials and finished goods are
carried in inventory. These changes will be needed to support higher volume
production and to achieve better customer service (reduce lead times). As a result,
internal changes in production and inventory control (PIC) will occur. PIC will need
to upgrade the manual system to the new computer, and they will have to make the
computer system effective so it is not duplicated by the manual system.
As the operation becomes more line oriented and make to stock, it will be possible
to utilize a higher percentage of capacity. Also, scheduling will become more
complex and critical to insure a smooth

the Constitution and the events that made the Constitution the way people know it
today. Christopher and James Collier begin with historical events that led up to
Constitutional creation and a brief summation of the events that were taking place in
the country during that time frame. The background that they give provides a good
base for the information and allows the reader to see things through the eyes of
someone living in the time. During that period, there were many challenges facing
America at the time that would have collision on the constitutional convention and
the outcomes that would shape the country. One of them being that there was very
poor transportation routes and that adversely affected communications. For example
the authors quote The few interstate roads that existed were frequently nothing
more than mile upon mile of mud wallow, cut by hundreds of streams, creeks, and
rivers, most of which were unbridged, so they had to be forded, or crossed by ferry
(Collier, 1986, p.14). As a result, due to a lack of this foundation it was very
challenging and time consuming for the citizens with travel and communication and
diversity was usually unfamiliar to people. At the time people also faced challenges
such as the country was divided by religion, ethics, language differences, and majorly

58. Technology And Technology Essay
I do not agree with the APP s recommendation of having only two hours of daily
entertainment and screen time for kids and teens. I believe that there should at least
be 4 6 hours of recommended technology use each day. There are multiple reasonings
to have a 4 6 hours of electronic time. People say that technologyincreases the way
people do things at their schools, jobs, and at home. Technology helps people at
school because many schools are now having more technology to help the kids
understand. Technology also helps people at home, it helps them complete tasks
throughout the house. Electronics help people at work because every day most jobs
use computers and they help us complete our jobs. Adolescents can become more
educated with a touch of a couple of buttons!
Technology helps us in many ways, from setting reminders for doctors appointments
to vacuuming your whole house, we rely on technology for a lot of different things.
There are many benefits to technology too. In the article, the author says, technology
has educational benefits such as with learning a new language, helping young kids
learn how to count, and help students that are struggling with a subject get extra help.
Technology also has many communication benefits, like being able to communicate
with family and friends across the world. According to the article, 4 Benefits of
